- 0:28Good morning from the chicken coop.
- 0:30So today I would like to give us a little reminder about the fact
- 0:34that we don't know everything. I know a lot of us seem to have
- 0:39this sense of well. I'm very certain and we love to
- 0:42use that word about generalities in life and other people and
- 0:49what we believe about them and how we see them.
- 0:52And oh, I'm certain this person is this way or oh, I know for
- 0:55sure that a Toda unfortunately, often we are wrong.
- 1:00Ang and I think it's an important reminder that I wanted
- 1:03to give everybody today that you don't always know about other
- 1:07people and what they're thinking and how they feel and what's
- 1:10going on behind the scenes, and, good, bad or indifferent.
- 1:15I'm not talking about just the - I could be talking about the
- 1:18positive to, you don't know the positive things and you don't
- 1:20know the negative things. Unfortunately for US unless we
- 1:25decide to share our absolute true feelings with people, they
- 1:30Often don't know what's going on and we make assumptions based on
- 1:36other people's actions and those assumptions become a reality for
- 1:42us. We say, oh no, that's how it is
- 1:44and we stand strong, we will often die on that hill.
- 1:48So to speak where? No no, I am certain that.
- 1:50That is the case when it is not the case.
- 1:53And this goes back to we're not broken being this way.
- 1:58This is just how human beings are.
- 1:59We will Get into a place and we will start something and we will
- 2:03say no, I'm absolutely certain of this.
- 2:05Just like you've heard me use the example before of the Earth
- 2:08is flat. And you know, other people
- 2:11discovered that the Earth was not flat and then everyone had
- 2:14to die from it. Or if you go back to the witch
- 2:17trials, you know, here are people using herbs and growing
- 2:22things and finding ways to heal things and all of a sudden, you
- 2:25know, people are saying oh well she's a witch, therefore, that's
- 2:29bad. Therefore.
- 2:30He must die and killing them on the steak and burning them and
- 2:35it it is amazing to me. How even though we have gone
- 2:39from that in the physical, we have not gone from that.
- 2:44In the mental part of it, where we still are that rigid.
- 2:47We still get into those places where we insist, we absolutely
- 2:52insist we know and today is a reminder for everyone, even
- 2:57within yourself to say, I am Not always that right about myself.
- 3:02I am not always that. Right?
- 3:04About others. I am not always aware of
- 3:07everything. Therefore you don't know what
- 3:10you don't know. So language is important and
- 3:14especially in this process of rebuilding might you know,
- 3:17rewiring your brain so to speak. You have to stop and pause and
- 3:22say well this is the conclusion I've come to based on the
- 3:26information I have but I don't know what, I don't know.
- 3:31So that is a fluid conclusion. Things can shift.
- 3:35And when you start telling yourself things like that and
- 3:38you start focusing on the fact that you don't know what you
- 3:41don't know. Life becomes a little bit easier
- 3:45and we become a little bit softer and we become a little
- 3:48bit more tolerant. And we become a little bit, not
- 3:51just of ourselves, but of others, we become a little bit
- 3:54more connected in our humanness, if you will to others.
- 4:00So, today is just a beginning of understanding this process
- 4:07because it's not easy, and I'm going to start layering it out
- 4:09there because we get to hunker down in our convictions.
- 4:12We Eve, we know something and we don't want to let it go, but you
- 4:17start to break those things down.
- 4:18By asking better, questions of yourself asking better questions
- 4:22of others and not confrontational questions, just
- 4:26real informational questions. You know, the last night I was
- 4:29having a discussion with a friend of mine about the quality
- 4:32of questions and he said, you know, most people ask yes or no
- 4:35questions and I said yeah they do because it's easy but and you
- 4:40have to pay attention to the other person when you go Oh,
- 4:43that deep with them. So, if you're asking a question,
- 4:46you know, think of it instead of, like, just like when we were
- 4:48in school, we had yes and no questions.
- 4:50And then we had the paragraphs, you want to ask the questions
- 4:53that are the paragraph So that you can understand where the
- 4:56other person is coming from. And you want to do that with
- 4:58yourself too, and that helps you develop the, we don't know what,
- 5:03we don't know. It helps us develop a different
- 5:06level of understanding. It helps us develop a piece of,
- 5:11you know, ourselves that We were like, wow, okay, if I'm really
- 5:15honest with myself. And I answer this question, I'll
- 5:18know something. So I think something different.
- 5:21I think it's incredibly important to focus on this.
- 5:24So today go out. Remember you don't know what you
- 5:28don't know, and certainly don't know everything.
- 5:33And at that point, it's a beautiful wide opening.
- 5:37Two possibilities when you ask better questions and you
- 5:39recognize, I don't know what, I don't know.
- 5:42So I hope you guys have a blessed day and I will see you
- 5:45tomorrow.
