- 0:01If we reflect on our own lives and consider the people we meet
- 0:06in our daily lives, including our family friends,
- 0:10acquaintances work, Associates, and chance.
- 0:14Those we meet along the way we likely will find that very
- 0:18little time thought or consideration if any is given to
- 0:24the pursuit of the answer to the question.
- 0:26Why? we think about all the little
- 0:29details of Our Lives, the food, we eat the enjoyment, we have
- 0:34the next activity, we are to undertake our education, our
- 0:38participation in sports or other Hobbies, our desires, our need
- 0:43to work in a choir money by things, develop a family and
- 0:48explore relationships, not to speak of the time we spend in
- 0:53dissipation or pure amusement, Few people we meet at anytime
- 0:58who seriously consider why they are alive and what they are
- 1:03supposed to do with the life they lead.
- 1:07There are many who will respond with a purely mechanical process
- 1:11oriented answer that they were born out of their parents Act of
- 1:15procreation and they don't really have any purpose.
- 1:19They will live their lives as best they can and when they die,
- 1:23it's over. There are others who accept the
- 1:26teachings of one religion or another without deeper
- 1:30reflection that they are here for some kind of test or trial.
- 1:35And if they pass, they will proceed to heaven when they die.
- 1:39And if not, then they must burn in hell.
- 1:43Some believe that the world is a big game of Might makes, right?
- 1:48And they try to control bully cheap do anything at all to
- 1:53succeed in the game. Game.
- 1:55They have accepted as their purpose.
- 1:58Still others have the belief that the entire life is some
- 2:01kind of unreality and must simply be abandoned as quickly
- 2:06as possible. But after all of this very
- 2:10little real examination, or reflection, actually takes place
- 2:15to see if there is some deeper sense or purpose to one's life
- 2:20and existence. And if there is some meaning to
- 2:23it all There is, of course, individuals, who one way or
- 2:29another experienced. Another reality who understand
- 2:33through that experience, that life has a purpose and that the
- 2:38individual life is meant to express that purpose in an Ever
- 2:42greater and more perfect manner. Some experience this through,
- 2:47what is known as a near-death experience.
- 2:50When they returned, they are somehow changed.
- 2:53They see things from a different perspective.
- 2:56They returned with a new insight to their lives.
- 3:00Others have a glimpse through a peak experience, sometimes an
- 3:03out-of-body experience, sometimes what is known as a
- 3:07spiritual experience? However, it comes about these
- 3:11individuals undertake acts such as a Vision Quest.
- 3:15A pilgrimage, a deep inner reflection in examination or
- 3:21wind up seeking out, and finding a teacher who has had a similar
- 3:24experience and who can help guide them to a new level of
- 3:29understanding. These few individuals actually
- 3:32ask the question, why? And dedicate their efforts to
- 3:37finding an answer? The mother observes quote well
- 3:42to find out what one truly is to find out why one is on Earth.
- 3:47What is the purpose of physical existence of this presence on
- 3:51Earth of this formation? This existence, the vast
- 3:55majority of people live without asking themselves.
- 3:58This even once only a small, Elite ask themselves, this
- 4:04question with interest and fewer still start working to get the
- 4:08answer. For unless one is fortunate
- 4:12enough to come across someone who knows.
- 4:14It, it is not such an easy thing to find.
- 4:18Suppose, for instance, that there had never come to your
- 4:21hands, a book of Sri aurobindo Toes or of any of the writers or
- 4:25philosophers or sages, who have dedicated their lives to this
- 4:29Quest. If you are in the Ordinary
- 4:32World, as millions of people are in the Ordinary World, who have
- 4:37never heard of anything, except the times, and not always
- 4:42nowadays, even quite rarely of some gods in a certain form of
- 4:46religion, which is more a habit than a faith and which besides
- 4:51rarely tells you why you were on Earth.
- 4:55Then when doesn't even think of thinking about it, when lives
- 5:01from day to day, the events of each day, when one is very
- 5:05young, one thinks of playing eating and a little later of
- 5:10learning, and after that one thinks of all the circumstances
- 5:14of life, but to put this problem to oneself to confront, this
- 5:19problem and ask oneself. But after all, why am I here?
- 5:25How many do that there are people to whom this idea?
- 5:29Comes only when they are facing a catastrophe, when they see
- 5:33someone whom they love die, or when they find themselves in
- 5:37particularly painful and difficult circumstances, they
- 5:42turn back upon themselves, if they are sufficiently
- 5:46intelligent and ask themselves, But really what is this tragedy?
- 5:51We are living and what's the use of it and what is its purpose?
- 5:57And only at that moment, does one begin the search to know in
- 6:03quote reference SRI aurobindo and the mother growing within
- 6:09the psychology of inner development.
