- 0:00Speaker 1: This is the Benn and Ashley I Almost Famous podcast
- 0:03Speaker 1: with her radio. It's a big week at the Almost
- 0:06Speaker 1: Famous Podcast. We are no longer in the off season.
- 0:09Speaker 1: In fact, Ashley I con Eddie did a tremendous job
- 0:13Speaker 1: interviewing this year's bachelor, Zach. You can go back and
- 0:17Speaker 1: listen to it if you haven't already. It's worth listening to.
- 0:20Speaker 1: Ashley did not hold back with questions and and Zach
- 0:23Speaker 1: didn't hold back with answers. I thought it was a
- 0:25Speaker 1: great interview. I left it being excited to meet him.
- 0:28Speaker 1: I'm gonna meet him next week uh in uh in California,
- 0:33Speaker 1: uh at the Pebble Beach a T and t um
- 0:37Speaker 1: pro am, And I'm excited to meet him. I think
- 0:40Speaker 1: he's probably a great dude. I have my thoughts on
- 0:44Speaker 1: the first episode. We'll talk about later, but I thought
- 0:47Speaker 1: your interview was great, Ashley. Thanks Ben, that's so sweet
- 0:50Speaker 1: of you. You did a good job. Now I wasn't
- 0:53Speaker 1: on that interview because this last week I was at
- 0:57Speaker 1: my favorite event, or at least one of my favorite
- 1:00Speaker 1: events of the year. It is the Hilton Grand Vacations
- 1:02Speaker 1: Tournament of Champions. It's a golf tournament we won't bore
- 1:06Speaker 1: you with golf. I will say that somehow, some way,
- 1:10Speaker 1: Chris Harrison did beat Wells and I both somehow some way,
- 1:14Speaker 1: pretty sure that was the obvious winner. No, not at all.
- 1:19Speaker 1: We're close to the same, all three of us. You know,
- 1:22Speaker 1: we go back and forth on who be two and
- 1:24Speaker 1: how who beat two? Chris kind of has that, I
- 1:27Speaker 1: would say the older brother or dad um thing over
- 1:32Speaker 1: Wells and I were. No matter who's better at anything,
- 1:35Speaker 1: he always somehow finds a way to win. Well, maybe
- 1:40Speaker 1: it's because he has over ten years of experience on
- 1:43Speaker 1: the course. So were you guys? Yeah, well he's never
- 1:45Speaker 1: played this though he's never played this event, this was
- 1:48Speaker 1: his uh first time playing at Lake Nona Wells. I
- 1:52Speaker 1: would say he's the most talented golfer. I think Chris
- 1:54Speaker 1: would admit that too. Out of the three of us,
- 1:57Speaker 1: I uh will be the most streaky, meaning I could
- 2:02Speaker 1: get hot and go really low or I could go
- 2:04Speaker 1: really high. And then Chris is kind of that just
- 2:06Speaker 1: like that turtle who just walks slowly, doesn't do anything crazy,
- 2:13Speaker 1: but he just did what he needed to do to
- 2:15Speaker 1: beat us both. That's all the golf knowledge we will
- 2:17Speaker 1: give obviously, um, a big thing coming out of this
- 2:22Speaker 1: weekend for some people, not really as much for me.
- 2:25Speaker 1: But you can listen to Chris Harrison's new podcast, the
- 2:28Speaker 1: most dramatic pod ever, and get super enjoyable. I can
- 2:34Speaker 1: catch you up on the episodes out now. I am.
- 2:38Speaker 1: I've gotten caught up to. Yeah. It's great to hear
- 2:41Speaker 1: his voice again. There's something just so soothing and like,
- 2:43Speaker 1: I feel like listening to it that I would enjoy
- 2:45Speaker 1: listening to it even if I wasn't a Bachelor fan
- 2:48Speaker 1: and didn't know him. Well, I think that's probably the hope, right,
- 2:51Speaker 1: I mean, he has he has a building fan base.
- 2:55Speaker 1: Gonna happen. Yeah, But his relationship advice is very good.
- 2:58Speaker 1: I mean, in general, his advice is very good. He's
- 3:01Speaker 1: seen a lot of things, but he uh, he was
- 3:05Speaker 1: there this weekend with us. Um so was Chris Lane,
- 3:09Speaker 1: who was married to uh Lauren Lane formerly Lauren Bushnell,
- 3:13Speaker 1: who obviously I know well uh, And I was nervous again.
- 3:19Speaker 1: You can get the details of this whole thing. We
- 3:21Speaker 1: won't go into details here on Chris's podcast. I was nervous, anxious,
- 3:25Speaker 1: maybe more or anything. I haven't seen Lauren since we split. Uh.
- 3:30Speaker 1: It didn't really haunt me, but it was just like
- 3:33Speaker 1: a thing where it's like, hey, you know, how often
- 3:35Speaker 1: do you want to run into your exes? Maybe some
- 3:37Speaker 1: they're not they're cool with it. I don't do it often,
- 3:40Speaker 1: Like it's not like a habit of mine. Uh. And
- 3:43Speaker 1: so I was just like, no, this could be weird
- 3:46Speaker 1: and and hopefully it's all good. I don't. I'm sure
- 3:49Speaker 1: it is right. She's married with two kids. I'm married.
- 3:52Speaker 1: Life has gone very good for the both of us
- 3:54Speaker 1: were both very happy. But that first interaction was going
- 3:58Speaker 1: to be a little weird. But but it didn't happen.
- 4:01Speaker 1: You didn't Lauren, Uh, I don't. I don't even know
- 4:05Speaker 1: if she came. But I did see Chris uh and
- 4:08Speaker 1: Lauren's dad, who was there helping Chris out throughout the week.
- 4:13Speaker 1: And it was awesome, It really was. It was really
- 4:15Speaker 1: good Chris Uh, very very kind, very nice. Um. There
- 4:21Speaker 1: was no weirdness, there was no like awkwardness. It was
- 4:26Speaker 1: just good to see him. It was kind of good
- 4:27Speaker 1: to rip that band aid off. It kind of felt
- 4:30Speaker 1: like that first Interactually, Guy, I remember being around him, Yeah,
- 4:34Speaker 1: sweet guy, and Uh. We ran into each other within
- 4:37Speaker 1: ten minutes of me walking into hotel and he didn't
- 4:40Speaker 1: see me. So this is not me being the bigger
- 4:42Speaker 1: man here. But I went up to him, said hey, Chris.
- 4:44Speaker 1: He said hey, ma'am, and that's and then conversation started
- 4:47Speaker 1: about the week. It was great to see Lawrence dad
- 4:50Speaker 1: and it was very nice too. He actually approached me
- 4:52Speaker 1: said hey Ben. Um, so it went great. I guess
- 4:57Speaker 1: overall there was no drama. There is interesting and you
- 5:01Speaker 1: can hear about the details of this. Uh the locker
- 5:04Speaker 1: room that we have at this event, it was Chris
- 5:07Speaker 1: Harrison and me. There's fifty people playing in this thing,
- 5:10Speaker 1: a lot of people. It's Chris Harrison, then me, and
- 5:12Speaker 1: then Chris Lane on the other side of me. Like, yeah,
- 5:15Speaker 1: I was sandwich between the Chris Is. And so when
- 5:17Speaker 1: I saw that that, I saw that before I had
- 5:19Speaker 1: actually ran into Chris Lane, and I was goodness, gracious,
- 5:24Speaker 1: um this Yeah, but it was awesome and I'm really
- 5:29Speaker 1: happy that I got to like meet him again, uh
- 5:32Speaker 1: in person, get to talk to him, get to to
- 5:35Speaker 1: see them. It was in a in a weird way,
- 5:38Speaker 1: therapeutic just to to see them again. And they're great people. Uh.
- 5:45Speaker 1: And so I I definitely. Um wanted them to know that, hey,
- 5:49Speaker 1: we're all good here, like this is great, but uh,
- 5:53Speaker 1: it was a really great week. Sarah came down and
- 5:56Speaker 1: watched Wells. Lauren Zema came down and watched Chris. Jessica
- 5:59Speaker 1: came out and watched me. All of us got to
- 6:02Speaker 1: hang out, my parents, my mom and dad. My dad's
- 6:05Speaker 1: my caddie. My mom is my moral support at times,
- 6:08Speaker 1: my water bottle holder. She is the best. And we
- 6:15Speaker 1: all got to go to family dinners every night, all
- 6:17Speaker 1: of us. We did probably five family dinners, just getting
- 6:21Speaker 1: together and having drinks and having food and talking about
- 6:24Speaker 1: life and laughing. It's a great week um, and what
- 6:28Speaker 1: I'm very thankful for every year. And it was great
- 6:30Speaker 1: to have Chris and Wells um there with me because
- 6:33Speaker 1: this is Chris or Wells the second year, Chris's first,
- 6:37Speaker 1: so sometimes I've done this alone, so it is great
- 6:39Speaker 1: to be all of us together. So can you give
- 6:43Speaker 1: us like a little behind the scenes tidbit of like
- 6:45Speaker 1: how the chemistry is between all the ladies, or like
- 6:52Speaker 1: give us a little dirt from the weekend. You know
- 6:54Speaker 1: that the dirt from the weekend is minimal. Um, there
- 6:58Speaker 1: isn't a lot, because a moment a something something, you
- 7:02Speaker 1: have to have a story. We there's a lot of stories.
- 7:05Speaker 1: So here's a good moment. So I'm on the eighteenth
- 7:08Speaker 1: hole on Sunday and I hit a ball and I
- 7:12Speaker 1: hit it way right by, twenty yards right of the green.
- 7:14Speaker 1: It's a part five, so I had quite a long
- 7:16Speaker 1: ways in so it wasn't a terrible shot. It wasn't
- 7:18Speaker 1: a good shot. I walk up to my ball and
- 7:20Speaker 1: is rolled underneath Sarah and Wells's feet. They were doing
- 7:24Speaker 1: an interview and my ball rolls up and sits underneath
- 7:27Speaker 1: their feet. They don't even know it's there. They have
- 7:30Speaker 1: no clue that it's rolled u underneath their feet. And
- 7:32Speaker 1: so they're in this interview with who knows who, like
- 7:34Speaker 1: NBC or somebody, and I have to walk up behind
- 7:37Speaker 1: them ask them to please move their interview so that
- 7:41Speaker 1: I can hit my ball out of like the media
- 7:45Speaker 1: area that no ball is ever supposed to be him.
- 7:48Speaker 1: That's a good moment. The chemistry between the three girls
- 7:51Speaker 1: was awesome. None of them are huge golfers. Uh. Jessica
- 7:56Speaker 1: walked all eighteen holes with me one day. Uh. I
- 7:59Speaker 1: don't spect her due to every day she doesn't, you know,
- 8:02Speaker 1: love golf, and it's a long walk. I mean, you
- 8:04Speaker 1: put in twenty five thousand steps by the time you're
- 8:07Speaker 1: done on a golf course. So they sat and they
- 8:11Speaker 1: drank wine together. Um, Sarah and Wells are on the
- 8:14Speaker 1: way to Disneyland. Um after disney World, actually sorry, disney
- 8:21Speaker 1: World after the tournament, to do a nice little tour
- 8:26Speaker 1: with Wells brother, Brett and his wife. It's kind of
- 8:30Speaker 1: a week it felt like of like bliss more than
- 8:33Speaker 1: anything else. Um, it just kind of felt like a
- 8:37Speaker 1: week where everybody like is enjoying being in the hot sun,
- 8:41Speaker 1: having drinks. If you want to golf, you golf. If
- 8:44Speaker 1: you don't, you sit at the cocktail bar here and
- 8:46Speaker 1: you just hang out and you watch all the celebrities
- 8:48Speaker 1: walk by. And there's a lot of celebrities there, a
- 8:51Speaker 1: lot of former athletes that I loved growing up. So
- 8:56Speaker 1: it does feel like a week of bliss. My my
- 8:57Speaker 1: week wasn't easy, you know, but it was a lot
- 9:01Speaker 1: of fun. Um, and so I enjoy I just enjoy
- 9:07Speaker 1: being there with my parents and with with Jess and
- 9:09Speaker 1: then obviously to have friends there. So great week and like, no,
- 9:12Speaker 1: no, no no, I can't wait to go back. Um, I
- 9:16Speaker 1: won't bore you with golf knowledge. Well, I want to
- 9:19Speaker 1: jump into one more thing before we do the first
- 9:22Speaker 1: episode recap. How is Chris dealing with I mean dealing
- 9:29Speaker 1: is that the right word? How is he celebrating? Um,
- 9:32Speaker 1: just having the number one podcast last week and just
- 9:36Speaker 1: like kind of feeling back. I laughed at this. You know,
- 9:40Speaker 1: I've been doing this for six years, Ashley. We have
- 9:43Speaker 1: a good podcast. It's a good, solid podcast. It's grown,
- 9:47Speaker 1: it keeps growing. Um, we have a lot of fun
- 9:51Speaker 1: with it. But I've been here for six years now.
- 9:53Speaker 1: Chris has done this for a month and somehow I
- 9:56Speaker 1: found myself this week at this tournament creating content for
- 9:59Speaker 1: him once again, Like he just has this way over
- 10:03Speaker 1: me where if it's on the on the Bachelor, or
- 10:06Speaker 1: if it's with this podcast. We did a whole podcast
- 10:09Speaker 1: about my week, uh, and the and the things that
- 10:12Speaker 1: happened to me just kind of running into Chris and
- 10:15Speaker 1: nothing bad happened, but it was it was a thing, right,
- 10:18Speaker 1: it's it's it's good material for his most dramatic podcast ever.
- 10:22Speaker 1: Here's a good story for example, the stories come out.
- 10:26Speaker 1: I remember we have a buddy of ours, who was
- 10:29Speaker 1: caddying for Robbie Amel. Robbie Amel is an actor and
- 10:33Speaker 1: a bunch of movies. Really good looking Feller looks good
- 10:36Speaker 1: in a golf shirt. And um, his caddy his friends
- 10:40Speaker 1: with Wells from Los Angeles. And we're at dinner one
- 10:45Speaker 1: night and Chris Harrison is talking to me about running
- 10:49Speaker 1: into Chris Lane and this this Robbie's caddy doesn't know
- 10:55Speaker 1: who Chris Lane is, so he googles him and he
- 10:58Speaker 1: kind of waits till the conversations over and all of
- 11:00Speaker 1: us are having this family dinner, and he kind of
- 11:01Speaker 1: stops the conversation goes, yeah, this is Christly and his
- 11:04Speaker 1: wife is so hot. I knew that was coming, and
- 11:08Speaker 1: I was like I didn't say a word. I just
- 11:10Speaker 1: kind of sat there and Chris and Well start laughing
- 11:14Speaker 1: and they're like, hey, you should stop, like that's Ben
- 11:17Speaker 1: Eck Ben's X. And then he's like, oh, that's super awkward,
- 11:23Speaker 1: and so he googles me because at this point Jessica
- 11:25Speaker 1: has not shown up to the term and he goes,
- 11:26Speaker 1: but yeah, but your wife is so hot too. It's like,
- 11:31Speaker 1: I don't say that my wife is hot like that.
- 11:36Speaker 1: It was that was that was good. Obviously it makes
- 11:38Speaker 1: Chris's podcast as well. It's a good story to share.
- 11:41Speaker 1: Chris is handling it great. I mean he's very excited.
- 11:44Speaker 1: He's good at this stuff. I mean when we sat
- 11:46Speaker 1: down to do his podcast with him in the hotel room,
- 11:49Speaker 1: he has a whole paper full of notes and questions
- 11:52Speaker 1: that he wants to get into with us. Uh. The
- 11:55Speaker 1: fans adore him, right, I mean he had tons of
- 11:58Speaker 1: people around asking for autographs and asking for pictures and
- 12:02Speaker 1: asking um for different things from him, and he handles
- 12:06Speaker 1: it really well. I think he's he's in a good spot.
- 12:09Speaker 1: I feel like there's times that I've seen Chris since
- 12:12Speaker 1: obviously the incident, where it felt like, hey, this isn't
- 12:14Speaker 1: the same Chris. I've always known this is there's something
- 12:17Speaker 1: going on here. He's he's hurt. H I would say,
- 12:21Speaker 1: you know, his his love for Lauren's ema is incredible.
- 12:25Speaker 1: I mean, he adores that woman. And I don't want
- 12:28Speaker 1: to speak for them, but I would imagine even listening
- 12:31Speaker 1: to the podcast the last two years has brought them
- 12:34Speaker 1: closer together because they have a tremendous amount of respect
- 12:37Speaker 1: and support for each other. Uh, and they love being
- 12:40Speaker 1: around each other, which is so cool to see. I've
- 12:43Speaker 1: never seen Chris with somebody with a partner right. Uh.
- 12:48Speaker 1: And and I just felt like from this week, it
- 12:50Speaker 1: was a week where I felt like, that's that's my buddy.
- 12:52Speaker 1: He's back, you know, he's he's he's in it, and
- 12:54Speaker 1: he's he's healthy, and he's good, and he he has
- 12:57Speaker 1: great perspective on things again, and he's great advice on
- 13:01Speaker 1: things again. He has a lot of wisdom to share.
- 13:03Speaker 1: But he asked we can have a lot of fun.
- 13:05Speaker 1: So I feel like this podcast has been great for him,
- 13:10Speaker 1: uh and probably great for a lot of people listening.
- 13:12Speaker 1: I just think he's good, Like I feel like he's
- 13:14Speaker 1: in a good rhythm. You guys probably had the episodes
- 13:17Speaker 1: in which he finally got to be able to relax
- 13:20Speaker 1: and have fun. Because the podcast, the first two episodes
- 13:22Speaker 1: are then recapping the past two years. The second too,
- 13:26Speaker 1: are him getting fan questions, and the fan questions are
- 13:29Speaker 1: not easy. They didn't give him softballs at all. Those
- 13:32Speaker 1: those were not filtered questions. And then finally he got
- 13:35Speaker 1: to sit down with you guys and probably have fun. Yeah,
- 13:39Speaker 1: he's kind of on the directory out of that. I mean,
- 13:41Speaker 1: he doesn't need softballs. It's Chris. He should speak what happened.
- 13:46Speaker 1: He should speak to the events that happened. He should
- 13:49Speaker 1: speak to everything. I mean, he doesn't. He doesn't want
- 13:53Speaker 1: to hide away. Uh, and so they shouldn't be softballs.
- 13:57Speaker 1: He should speak to this stuff, and he is and
- 13:59Speaker 1: he's willing to and I think that's ultimately a really
- 14:03Speaker 1: good thing for everybody. And now his show will turn
- 14:07Speaker 1: into um a really fun show for so many people
- 14:11Speaker 1: to listen to and get his perspective and advice on.
- 14:13Speaker 1: And I think that's gonna be a great seat for
- 14:14Speaker 1: him to sit in because it's unfiltered. Chris is not
- 14:18Speaker 1: a filtered human. He can he can put a tie
- 14:20Speaker 1: on and stand in front of a camera and do
- 14:23Speaker 1: great things. But he has just a lot of raw
- 14:26Speaker 1: grit to him too, and life experience that you want
- 14:29Speaker 1: to hear and you want somebody to share, and you
- 14:31Speaker 1: don't want it to be necessarily buttoned up on a
- 14:34Speaker 1: television show like I think this podcast is gonna be
- 14:36Speaker 1: a lot of fun because we get the un the
- 14:39Speaker 1: unfiltered Chris Harrison, the one that we've known and the
- 14:42Speaker 1: one that we've really enjoyed being around and now other
- 14:45Speaker 1: people are gonna be around. And I would tell you
- 14:47Speaker 1: listening to his show, he is himself like that is,
- 14:50Speaker 1: he is more himself on that show than he's I've
- 14:52Speaker 1: ever seen him on a media stage before, and that's
- 14:57Speaker 1: exciting for me. So yeah, listen to It's part of
- 15:00Speaker 1: the our heart family. UM, it's part of our team's family.
- 15:04Speaker 1: It's a great show. It's good to be be with
- 15:06Speaker 1: both of them. Very excited about um just getting to
- 15:09Speaker 1: spend that time with with friends. And we're gonna see
- 15:12Speaker 1: Wells again next week in California. We're gonna see Zach again,
- 15:16Speaker 1: the current Bachelor in California. Uh. And speaking of Bachelor,
- 15:20Speaker 1: actually I think we should take a break. We come back.
- 15:22Speaker 1: We have the first episode of this season to break down.
- 15:25Speaker 1: Cannot wait. I have not talked to you about it yet.
- 15:27Speaker 1: There was no text last night, there was no phone
- 15:30Speaker 1: calls last night. I have no clue how you felt
- 15:32Speaker 1: about this first episode. I know how I feel, and
- 15:35Speaker 1: you all listening, we'll know soon. Before we get into
- 15:48Speaker 1: details of the episode, I will say my overall thought
- 15:51Speaker 1: on the first night is what it is every season,
- 15:54Speaker 1: and you know how I feel about the first episode.
- 15:56Speaker 1: I think it's pointless, I do. I don't. If there's
- 16:01Speaker 1: one thing about the show that could change, it would
- 16:03Speaker 1: be how Night one operates. Now we do have to
- 16:05Speaker 1: meet everybody. The limo entrances are fine and they're nice. Um,
- 16:10Speaker 1: but I don't remember anybody's name. I don't remember how
- 16:13Speaker 1: they introduced themselves. I don't remember much about Night One
- 16:17Speaker 1: in two more weeks, and so I just feel like
- 16:19Speaker 1: there has to be a little switch up here. Uh.
- 16:22Speaker 1: It felt like it does every season. This is not
- 16:24Speaker 1: a critique of this season. This is not being critical
- 16:26Speaker 1: of what I think the season will look like. It
- 16:29Speaker 1: just felt monotonous to me, and it felt, Uh, it
- 16:33Speaker 1: felt very predictable. They're gonna have somebody crying, They're gonna
- 16:38Speaker 1: have somebody upset, They're gonna have somebody trying to steal
- 16:40Speaker 1: more time than others. Not everybody's gonna get to talk
- 16:43Speaker 1: to him. Oh No, what's gonna happen if I don't
- 16:45Speaker 1: get to talk to him. The shan Low segment I
- 16:49Speaker 1: think was meant to mix it up. But what did
- 16:52Speaker 1: we get out of that? We didn't get really any advice.
- 16:55Speaker 1: We didn't get much more than a monologue of of
- 16:58Speaker 1: Zach lifting weight. Um, if you know, I would have
- 17:03Speaker 1: loved to see Sean and and Zach sit down and
- 17:06Speaker 1: Sean go Zack, you weren't the popular choice to be
- 17:08Speaker 1: the bachelor? How are you going to handle that this season?
- 17:12Speaker 1: Like the fact that, like maybe some of these women
- 17:13Speaker 1: even here didn't expect you to be a bachelor. The
- 17:15Speaker 1: fans watching this show right now didn't know that you
- 17:18Speaker 1: were going to be the bachelor. That was not for
- 17:20Speaker 1: How how do you respond to that? Zach? What do
- 17:22Speaker 1: you what do you want to get out of this season?
- 17:25Speaker 1: If you know you're going into it as the underdog?
- 17:27Speaker 1: We didn't get any of that. It just kind of
- 17:29Speaker 1: felt like we skipped over and tried to make Zac
- 17:31Speaker 1: look like this really desirable do that everybody wants, And
- 17:33Speaker 1: it's like, wait, that might be true, and he's good
- 17:36Speaker 1: looking and he's tall, and he might be super nice,
- 17:38Speaker 1: and I'm not going to take that away from him,
- 17:40Speaker 1: but it's not what we know of him yet. We
- 17:42Speaker 1: don't know that as viewers yet, we don't know that
- 17:44Speaker 1: he's a desirable person. You've just kind of thrown us
- 17:46Speaker 1: into that to believe it, and I don't know if
- 17:48Speaker 1: I believe it yet. I think that they were trying
- 17:52Speaker 1: to pretend like that just wasn't a thing. You can't
- 17:56Speaker 1: pretend like it's They were like, oh, were compensating by
- 18:01Speaker 1: its being like, we're not even going to address the
- 18:04Speaker 1: fact that the fandom isn't really into this choice. We're
- 18:06Speaker 1: going to lean into the fact that these girls are
- 18:08Speaker 1: supposedly very into the choice. Like there was that montage
- 18:12Speaker 1: of the girls watching the Bachelor announcement and that was
- 18:17Speaker 1: just so cringe e because uh, the girls were gonna
- 18:21Speaker 1: scream even if you announced Peee Herman as the Bachelor's
- 18:25Speaker 1: good point, I agree, and so you can't ignore it,
- 18:29Speaker 1: and I don't know why they are. The beauty of
- 18:31Speaker 1: the show was the vulnerability of the show, the vulnerability
- 18:34Speaker 1: of the storyline, the vulnerability of the journeys of each
- 18:37Speaker 1: person who is either placed as the lead or coming
- 18:40Speaker 1: onto the show to experience and fine love. Zach storyline
- 18:44Speaker 1: is different. We don't know. Necessarily, you can get more
- 18:47Speaker 1: of the details of this by listening to last week's
- 18:49Speaker 1: podcast with Zack and Ashley. Uh, but we don't know
- 18:53Speaker 1: the details of why he left Rachel. As viewers, if
- 18:55Speaker 1: they don't listen to this podcast, they have no clue
- 18:58Speaker 1: why the Rachel's act situation didn't work out. You also,
- 19:03Speaker 1: as a viewer, probably don't know Zach after last season.
- 19:06Speaker 1: You and I might know he was announced as the Bachelor,
- 19:08Speaker 1: but you're probably as most people are going, why Zach? Now,
- 19:13Speaker 1: not that I'm against it, but why Zach? He's a
- 19:15Speaker 1: nice guy? Okay, cool? And then we just get thrown
- 19:21Speaker 1: into this. And this is why I said, the show
- 19:24Speaker 1: has to I said this last season, the show has
- 19:26Speaker 1: to be very careful of trying to convince the audience
- 19:29Speaker 1: of something that's not true. And this season it felt
- 19:33Speaker 1: like they tried to do it. From night one. They
- 19:36Speaker 1: tried to convince us that everybody wanted Zack and that's
- 19:39Speaker 1: not true. And so are you gonna lose my trust
- 19:44Speaker 1: or are you going to disrespect me as a viewer
- 19:47Speaker 1: to think that my knowledge of the show and watching
- 19:50Speaker 1: it year over year year and try to convince me
- 19:54Speaker 1: that Zack was the most desirable choice. He is not,
- 19:56Speaker 1: And and Zach knows that. Right after you're like podcast
- 20:00Speaker 1: last week, we know that Zach knows that, and that's okay. Yeah,
- 20:03Speaker 1: I don't know if I was the popular choice. I
- 20:05Speaker 1: don't know if Nick vile was a popular choice and
- 20:07Speaker 1: stop that now you were the most shoeing that there
- 20:09Speaker 1: ever has been. Okay, fair that that might be true
- 20:12Speaker 1: also and that and that's great and and but what
- 20:16Speaker 1: do they do with that? They also didn't, you know,
- 20:19Speaker 1: hide the fact that, hey, we don't really have anybody
- 20:21Speaker 1: else here, so like, but they did. And I think
- 20:24Speaker 1: that is what's frustrating to the fandom too. It's like
- 20:27Speaker 1: there's some there's multiple guys that they would have rather
- 20:29Speaker 1: see because they felt like they knew them more via
- 20:33Speaker 1: Paradise or whatever, and still play into that, like, just
- 20:38Speaker 1: give me, give me the opportunity to hear Zach respond
- 20:42Speaker 1: to why he thinks he should be the lead, like
- 20:45Speaker 1: why he is the one that they chose to find love.
- 20:49Speaker 1: Definitely answered that on the podcast, but they didn't do
- 20:53Speaker 1: it on the show. We're talking about the show here
- 20:54Speaker 1: on the On the podcast, I think you get a
- 20:56Speaker 1: lot of details of Zach. I think you're gonna like
- 20:58Speaker 1: him more. I think you're gonna understand him. I think
- 21:00Speaker 1: you're gonna see like what could potentially make him a
- 21:03Speaker 1: really fun lead to follow. My critique of this show
- 21:07Speaker 1: in general on night one was it felt like it
- 21:09Speaker 1: was misleading, and it felt like it didn't ever confront
- 21:13Speaker 1: the elephant in the room that would have been a
- 21:14Speaker 1: beautiful elephant in the room to confront Zach, Who are you?
- 21:19Speaker 1: Why are you here? Why should fans like to follow you?
- 21:23Speaker 1: You remember another like cringe moment of them doing this
- 21:26Speaker 1: was them showing him being a DJ in high school
- 21:30Speaker 1: and then what was the other thing they showed? Yeah,
- 21:32Speaker 1: I just remember the DJ because it's like, maybe he'll
- 21:34Speaker 1: d his own wedding and it's like why would he
- 21:37Speaker 1: do a little throwback clips? And then and then they're
- 21:40Speaker 1: like see now you know I mean, isn't he a
- 21:42Speaker 1: fun guy? Oh? I think he? I think he the
- 21:46Speaker 1: basic Yeah, he was in a band, and so begin
- 21:51Speaker 1: and I'm being very critical, Okay, as we always are
- 21:55Speaker 1: the first episode of the first episode, we always are.
- 21:58Speaker 1: And I'm sure again Zach is I cannot wait to
- 22:00Speaker 1: meet him. I'm very excited to meet him. But to
- 22:04Speaker 1: convince us that he's a cool dude who we're gonna
- 22:07Speaker 1: love to follow, they show us that he was once
- 22:10Speaker 1: a DJ in high school and he played in a band.
- 22:13Speaker 1: Like that's what we got. Like, it's not like he
- 22:16Speaker 1: it's like, hey, those are impressive, and there's a cool
- 22:18Speaker 1: and there's a great traits. Right, but last you know,
- 22:23Speaker 1: our last bachelor was a professional football player, so like
- 22:28Speaker 1: you know, it's it's just different, Like he was he
- 22:31Speaker 1: was cool in high school? Is that what we're trying
- 22:32Speaker 1: to say, Like has he not done anything since? Is
- 22:36Speaker 1: what does his life look like now? And it felt
- 22:39Speaker 1: like they just felt so short on convincing us and
- 22:43Speaker 1: and and they tried so hard, right we have the
- 22:45Speaker 1: he played in a band, he was a DJ, and
- 22:47Speaker 1: then they have the segment with all the women being
- 22:49Speaker 1: excited about Zack being the Bachelor, and then they have
- 22:53Speaker 1: you know, him curling, and then you know, it's like
- 22:56Speaker 1: they tried really hard, and I just think they didn't.
- 22:59Speaker 1: And so the first episode kind of feel like a
- 23:00Speaker 1: throwaway to me because what they tried to do did
- 23:03Speaker 1: not work. That's my opinion, very very very well put,
- 23:08Speaker 1: very well put. Should we jump into the girls now?
- 23:11Speaker 1: I will say there are some there's a good memorable girls.
- 23:14Speaker 1: And I'm glad that they brought back packages because I
- 23:17Speaker 1: remembering correctly that like last year there wasn't packages or
- 23:19Speaker 1: one of the past few seasons there wasn't. And I
- 23:22Speaker 1: do think it gets you to know the main characters better. Yeah,
- 23:28Speaker 1: they're they're really There are some ones that I feel
- 23:31Speaker 1: like he has an actual chance with. Um. I say
- 23:36Speaker 1: that as if there's not normally, but you know what
- 23:39Speaker 1: I mean, Like, there are girls that I can like
- 23:41Speaker 1: five that I can name and be like, Okay, this one,
- 23:42Speaker 1: this one, this one, these are the ones to watch
- 23:44Speaker 1: half for. Brianna is well, she's the last one. At
- 23:49Speaker 1: the moment, we know she's safe. This is like kind
- 23:51Speaker 1: of a little recap that we get at the beginning
- 23:52Speaker 1: of the episode. You know that she's safe because she's
- 23:54Speaker 1: got America's first impression Rose. Um. There were five girls
- 23:59Speaker 1: at after the phone, Rose Bailey your friend being one
- 24:02Speaker 1: of them, and he ends up forgetting her name. Um,
- 24:07Speaker 1: he calls her Baylin and whatever. You know that things
- 24:11Speaker 1: like that happen. Um. Then there's Catherine and that's her.
- 24:16Speaker 1: She's got a package next. And I feel like Catherine
- 24:19Speaker 1: is very much a front runner right now. I would
- 24:22Speaker 1: talk about how attractive she is, and she has like
- 24:26Speaker 1: a nice calumnist there's something there anything else said about Catherine. No,
- 24:30Speaker 1: I think she I think Katherine. I don't remember the
- 24:34Speaker 1: girl's name um, which I'm sure we can find out
- 24:38Speaker 1: very soon and I'll reference it. I think the two
- 24:40Speaker 1: front runners are Katherine and then Um for me, the
- 24:43Speaker 1: girl that no not career, I mean yeah, sure, I
- 24:49Speaker 1: mean she's up there, but it would be the girl
- 24:50Speaker 1: that kind of um consoled Madison as she was walking out.
- 24:57Speaker 1: She was very calm and she was kind of like
- 24:58Speaker 1: I can she like made a Harry wise and like, um,
- 25:04Speaker 1: just carrying comment where She's like I can kind of
- 25:06Speaker 1: see that some of the girls are getting upset and
- 25:11Speaker 1: that that's tough, and you know, she's just kind of
- 25:14Speaker 1: like going to be there for the girls. I don't
- 25:16Speaker 1: know her name, will find that out, but yeah, Catherine
- 25:19Speaker 1: is definitely a front runner to me. She's somebody that
- 25:21Speaker 1: stood out. UM. She's beautiful, like you said, she's calm,
- 25:25Speaker 1: she's collected, and she just feels like she belongs there. Yeah.
- 25:29Speaker 1: Christina is up next as far as the packages goes.
- 25:31Speaker 1: She's so Nashville. She has a five year old daughter.
- 25:34Speaker 1: She's got a vibe. I don't know whether she's going
- 25:39Speaker 1: to be a vibe for Zach, but she's definitely getting
- 25:42Speaker 1: from in the house. She might be a shipster. What
- 25:46Speaker 1: do you think or is she going to be a
- 25:48Speaker 1: girls girl. I think she'll be a girls girl. I do.
- 25:51Speaker 1: I think she Yeah, I think she's gonna be a
- 25:54Speaker 1: big personality. I just don't think she's going to try
- 25:57Speaker 1: to like mess things up. I just think she's gonna
- 25:59Speaker 1: be a big personality in the house that the girls
- 26:01Speaker 1: are going to either like really gravitate to or the
- 26:04Speaker 1: quieter ones are just kind of gonna sit back on
- 26:06Speaker 1: the set. She looks exactly like Kelsey Ballerini meets Lauren Conrad.
- 26:12Speaker 1: Is she the one that at the end of the
- 26:13Speaker 1: episode was doing the kegels? Yeah, I think so. I
- 26:18Speaker 1: like that part. I was like, that girl's chill, like
- 26:21Speaker 1: she's funny. She was responding to their questions really well.
- 26:25Speaker 1: She was like making a lot of humor out of it. Um.
- 26:28Speaker 1: I was like, that girl could go a long ways,
- 26:30Speaker 1: like she's got she's got what it takes m hm.
- 26:34Speaker 1: And then Charity. She is a child family therapist. She
- 26:38Speaker 1: loves her job, she finds it really rewarding. Uh. She
- 26:42Speaker 1: she's eager to get married. Jared pointed out that he
- 26:45Speaker 1: hates it when the girls say eager to get married,
- 26:47Speaker 1: because it's like, are you eager to find like somebody
- 26:49Speaker 1: spend the rest of your life with, or do you
- 26:51Speaker 1: just like want the the what d you doesn't want
- 26:55Speaker 1: that title? We are we looking to into it? I
- 26:59Speaker 1: think what he would prefer then them to say, I'm
- 27:02Speaker 1: just really ready to find love. Yeah, okay, I mean
- 27:06Speaker 1: that's what they meant. Yeah, you know, I'm sure it is.
- 27:09Speaker 1: I don't really remember charity Charity. I know if I
- 27:13Speaker 1: saw her face, I would I know Charity because I
- 27:16Speaker 1: think he made the comment about how beautiful her name was,
- 27:20Speaker 1: Uh you need your name was, so I do remember that. Um.
- 27:23Speaker 1: I think all the packages highlighted women who are going
- 27:28Speaker 1: to be there a while. I don't think any of
- 27:29Speaker 1: the packages home one night one right right. That is
- 27:35Speaker 1: a big thing because sometimes they pepper in packages from
- 27:39Speaker 1: women who like leave night one and it's just like,
- 27:41Speaker 1: why did you even waste that time? Yeah, these girls,
- 27:45Speaker 1: I definitely think are here to stay. So Career's next.
- 27:47Speaker 1: She's in Houston, Texas, and we see later in the
- 27:49Speaker 1: episode that they have a real bonding moment about Texas.
- 27:52Speaker 1: Their conversation is probably the easiest of the night. Would
- 27:56Speaker 1: you agree with that? She's also just like that girl
- 27:59Speaker 1: that barely has any makeup on and looks great and
- 28:01Speaker 1: guys lover. Yeah, it's definitely one of the easiest conversations
- 28:06Speaker 1: I think I'm getting every season. You try to understand
- 28:09Speaker 1: the lead and I think I know zax um thing
- 28:13Speaker 1: when he's feeling awkward or nervous, and he closes his
- 28:18Speaker 1: eyes when he talks, like he's saying words and closing
- 28:20Speaker 1: his eyes at the same time, because I think he's nervous,
- 28:23Speaker 1: which is fairy right. I licked my lips. Everybody has
- 28:26Speaker 1: a thing um with her. He didn't close his eyes
- 28:30Speaker 1: and talk. He he was very in the moment. It
- 28:33Speaker 1: felt very relaxed, and from my perspective, if since he
- 28:38Speaker 1: wasn't doing that, he was just enjoying the conversation, which
- 28:41Speaker 1: is a good sign. Yeah, she made him feel so
- 28:45Speaker 1: comfortable because she was way more comfortable in the environment
- 28:49Speaker 1: than he was. And I think he could just be like, oh, okay,
- 28:52Speaker 1: I'm gonna let her carry this, and that made him
- 28:54Speaker 1: feel just at ease. You need that. Yeah, Okay. So
- 29:00Speaker 1: in Brooklyn, she's the rodeo girl. I don't really think
- 29:04Speaker 1: that anything else stood out about her to me. But
- 29:07Speaker 1: Brianna is next and Brianna was again the first impression Rose.
- 29:11Speaker 1: She has her own beauty company. I feel like she's
- 29:16Speaker 1: gonna be around for a while or do you think
- 29:18Speaker 1: that she's gonna be one of those Well, she's not
- 29:19Speaker 1: a first impression Rose, she's America's first impression Ros. Do
- 29:23Speaker 1: you think that she's gonna be around a while or
- 29:24Speaker 1: this is just America's choice in Zack's like not as
- 29:26Speaker 1: into it as America's. I don't know how you wouldn't
- 29:29Speaker 1: be into it. Yeah, she's stunning, Yeah, and she seems
- 29:32Speaker 1: really sweet. She was great, Um, she didn't. She didn't
- 29:37Speaker 1: cause drama. Like she could have easily been the person
- 29:39Speaker 1: that had the rose walking in and then also just
- 29:41Speaker 1: go in and like be reckless with it, and she wasn't.
- 29:44Speaker 1: And so I think she'll be around a long time. Uh,
- 29:48Speaker 1: And I I feel like she's gonna be somebody that
- 29:51Speaker 1: we really get to know through this show. So America
- 29:54Speaker 1: made a good choice with that first Impression Rose. You
- 29:57Speaker 1: think the producers gave her that rose dress? Yes, there's
- 30:01Speaker 1: no way. She just had it in her luggage. Well,
- 30:04Speaker 1: I mean that's kind of something that I would do. Yeah, No,
- 30:07Speaker 1: I think she I mean, my my guess is that
- 30:10Speaker 1: that was set up well. She looked great in that dress.
- 30:13Speaker 1: Beautiful all right. Next up in the last package was
- 30:17Speaker 1: Katie from Austin, and she's a nurse and she also
- 30:22Speaker 1: really makes me feel like she's going to be there
- 30:25Speaker 1: for a while. I think that he's very into her. Again,
- 30:27Speaker 1: there's the same sort of like composure, calmness, beauty. They
- 30:33Speaker 1: really couldn't go wrong a lot of nurses this season.
- 30:36Speaker 1: If anything ever happens in the house, I feel like
- 30:38Speaker 1: they're very well protected. A lot of nurses this season. Yeah,
- 30:43Speaker 1: I mean, I go back to it. Like the packages
- 30:46Speaker 1: this season seemed to introduce people who we're going to
- 30:50Speaker 1: be around and going to be there, which is why
- 30:53Speaker 1: I went through the packages. You know. I was like, Okay,
- 30:55Speaker 1: let's go through the package because let's just talk about
- 30:57Speaker 1: these girls. Because when I look back on the episode,
- 30:59Speaker 1: thes are pretty much the girls that I remember through
- 31:03Speaker 1: limo entrances. Do you remember any I don't. I have
- 31:06Speaker 1: to say not a lot of entrances really stood out
- 31:10Speaker 1: to me. There wasn't a lot of shock factor entrances,
- 31:12Speaker 1: which I am down for. Let's just get through it.
- 31:15Speaker 1: I thought that it was discussing that that one girl
- 31:18Speaker 1: licked his ear. I mean I wouldn't like that. No,
- 31:23Speaker 1: but I mean it happens. No, you wouldn't. No, I wouldn't.
- 31:25Speaker 1: It's gross. She well, she didn't make it past night one,
- 31:28Speaker 1: so yeah, I know, of course she didn't. Yeah, it's
- 31:30Speaker 1: not it's like, like it's not a great thing. I
- 31:33Speaker 1: mean a couple of things in the limit entrances. One,
- 31:36Speaker 1: why in the world that Jesse Palmer smells Zack's breath.
- 31:38Speaker 1: I don't do that with my wife. I don't want
- 31:40Speaker 1: her to do that to me. He's, you know, sticking
- 31:44Speaker 1: those way up there. It's like, if you think it's
- 31:46Speaker 1: not great, then just hand him a listening stript. Weird
- 31:50Speaker 1: moment there. I don't know why it has to happen,
- 31:54Speaker 1: you know. The really, there's only a few limit entrances that,
- 31:58Speaker 1: um it's it out to me. One is that he
- 32:01Speaker 1: kissed Bailey. Uh yeah, kind of out of nowhere, kind
- 32:05Speaker 1: of just like, hey, do you remember my name? Yeah, Bailey?
- 32:07Speaker 1: And then he leans in and kisses her. It's like,
- 32:10Speaker 1: I mean cool, Like, if that's how we're gonna play this.
- 32:14Speaker 1: He felt so bad about forgetting her name on stage
- 32:17Speaker 1: and this is only a couple of days after this,
- 32:20Speaker 1: and I think he was just like, how do I
- 32:21Speaker 1: make her feel comfortable and know that, like she actually
- 32:23Speaker 1: did make an impression on me, But but I just
- 32:26Speaker 1: I didn't remember her name fair enough. Um. I don't
- 32:30Speaker 1: know if we've ever have we ever seen like a
- 32:33Speaker 1: legit first kiss. No, we've seen like girls come in,
- 32:38Speaker 1: come in and kiss him. Um, but have we seen
- 32:41Speaker 1: the bleed? Actually, Like, I don't kiss somebody. It's like
- 32:46Speaker 1: on the limit entrances. I don't think so. I mean
- 32:49Speaker 1: in a sense, and he already met Bailey kind of
- 32:53Speaker 1: so like he's met her before. But in a lot
- 32:55Speaker 1: of ways, it would be if you take away the
- 32:58Speaker 1: fact that they met on live tell television, it would
- 33:01Speaker 1: be somebody just getting out of a car for the
- 33:03Speaker 1: first time, saying, hey, this is a great first day,
- 33:05Speaker 1: and then you're like cool and then you just lean in.
- 33:11Speaker 1: That's so true. I don't know, no, no, I don't
- 33:14Speaker 1: think that's happened in the past that we've been watching. Yeah,
- 33:18Speaker 1: but it's just the weirdest thing that even like these
- 33:21Speaker 1: people sit down for ten minutes and kiss. I was
- 33:23Speaker 1: thinking about this last night. Well, someone we're gonna talk
- 33:25Speaker 1: about you did it? You did it? Did you kiss
- 33:29Speaker 1: I don't. Yeah, but like back in your day, you
- 33:32Speaker 1: like kiss one or two people tops, Yeah, it can
- 33:35Speaker 1: have been more than one. Yeah, Like Crystals only kissed
- 33:39Speaker 1: Britt and we didn't even know that until after the fact.
- 33:42Speaker 1: Some we're gonna talk about here coming up, um, right
- 33:45Speaker 1: after this break, we're gonna talk about the most kisses
- 33:49Speaker 1: we've ever seen on Night one? How do we feel
- 33:52Speaker 1: about it? Wait? Ben, is it really technically like have
- 34:06Speaker 1: we Bachelor data? This? This is the seven seven kisses? No,
- 34:13Speaker 1: don't do it, guys. It's so nice to only have
- 34:15Speaker 1: one or two like actually means something. I know that
- 34:18Speaker 1: what's her name? Madison? She just threw herself at him,
- 34:21Speaker 1: so like does that you know? And and Holland you know, um,
- 34:25Speaker 1: Holland him It was Madison. It was Madison. Sorry Madison. Yeah, yeah,
- 34:30Speaker 1: Holland had the entrance I did remember you went to
- 34:32Speaker 1: Holland last season. You were in the wrong Holland. I
- 34:34Speaker 1: thought it was kind of funny, funny. It wasn't dirty
- 34:38Speaker 1: enough to be like, yeah, this is kind of funny.
- 34:40Speaker 1: Another entrance that I have to say I remembered was
- 34:43Speaker 1: actually Madison's because I think her insecurity started creeping up
- 34:47Speaker 1: early when he didn't like the taste of the syrup,
- 34:49Speaker 1: which like, why was he so weird about the syrup?
- 34:52Speaker 1: You like it sugar? I don't know so, Ashley. If
- 34:57Speaker 1: you remember back a few years ago, I had this
- 35:00Speaker 1: ery on this show. When you're the lead, you start
- 35:03Speaker 1: making out when conversation feels duck, when you feel awkward. Uh,
- 35:10Speaker 1: you might be physically attracted the person, You might be
- 35:12Speaker 1: attracted to the person, but you have nothing else to say.
- 35:16Speaker 1: And I think I said it a few seasons ago,
- 35:18Speaker 1: I said, I am watching as a viewer to see
- 35:22Speaker 1: how many kissing scenes we see and how many conversations
- 35:25Speaker 1: we see. I think it was Matt James this season
- 35:27Speaker 1: when we were complaining throughout the season that we don't
- 35:29Speaker 1: really know these women, that all we're seeing is Matt
- 35:31Speaker 1: kissing them, and we don't know these women because we
- 35:34Speaker 1: didn't feel like Matt was asking the follow up questions,
- 35:37Speaker 1: asking the questions that were obvious, asking the things that
- 35:39Speaker 1: would bring out who the person is and why they
- 35:41Speaker 1: are the way they are. Night one for me makes
- 35:46Speaker 1: me concerned for that for the rest of the season,
- 35:48Speaker 1: because I felt like he was kissing people. Now he
- 35:51Speaker 1: was asking, and it was sweet at times, and and
- 35:53Speaker 1: maybe it felt appropriate. But night one is a very
- 35:57Speaker 1: easy night for conversations. You know nothing about this person.
- 36:01Speaker 1: You can ask anything and you're gonna learn it, and
- 36:03Speaker 1: you're gonna follow up and you're gonna hear more and
- 36:05Speaker 1: get to understand who these people are. Night one, to
- 36:08Speaker 1: me feels like it's a very odd time to kiss
- 36:10Speaker 1: seven people because I, from my perspective and my judgment,
- 36:15Speaker 1: would say, you're covering up the fact that you don't
- 36:17Speaker 1: know what else to talk about. And if you're already
- 36:19Speaker 1: feeling that way on night one, when it's the easiest
- 36:22Speaker 1: to have things to talk about, how is it gonna
- 36:24Speaker 1: look in week six. It's interesting that you say night
- 36:29Speaker 1: one is the easiest thing to the easiest time to talk,
- 36:32Speaker 1: and now I'm thinking I kind of agree. It's because
- 36:36Speaker 1: everyone's strangers, so you literally like, so tell me about
- 36:40Speaker 1: your life, and like those those things can pick up
- 36:43Speaker 1: a conversation really easily. Yeah, it's the dates that are
- 36:47Speaker 1: like nine hours long and they're so quiet that makes
- 36:52Speaker 1: you feel a bit more awkward. We have to understand
- 36:55Speaker 1: that as when you're in that these conversations are no
- 36:59Speaker 1: more than ten minutes long. They there are most ten
- 37:01Speaker 1: minutes would be a long first night conversation. They're very short,
- 37:05Speaker 1: and so within that five to ten minutes, if you
- 37:09Speaker 1: are kissing them, then you are obviously either moving very
- 37:15Speaker 1: quickly and you're just feeling the physical vibe. If it
- 37:18Speaker 1: was with one person, I'd say, WHOA, there's a connection there, right,
- 37:21Speaker 1: it's the it's it's something, there's some fire that they're
- 37:24Speaker 1: seeing in each other. But when it happens seven times,
- 37:27Speaker 1: I am hesitant and I am concerned about the fact
- 37:32Speaker 1: that you can't carry a conversation for five minutes to
- 37:34Speaker 1: ten minutes with somebody that you've never met before, and
- 37:37Speaker 1: as a result, you have to kiss them to show
- 37:41Speaker 1: them that you're interested. Is there not another way to
- 37:43Speaker 1: show him you're interested, Marty? Just tell them, Hey, I
- 37:46Speaker 1: really enjoyed this conversation. I'm very like attracted to you.
- 37:49Speaker 1: I'm excited to get to know you more. There's so
- 37:52Speaker 1: much more I have to learn about you. Instead, the
- 37:56Speaker 1: default is let's just make out, which also is not
- 38:01Speaker 1: a great thing for the other woman to see. It
- 38:04Speaker 1: was something that most bachelors are very protective of is Hey,
- 38:08Speaker 1: I don't want to kiss somebody in front of other women.
- 38:11Speaker 1: You know some of these women, one of these women
- 38:13Speaker 1: might be my wife. I don't want her to see
- 38:16Speaker 1: me making out with somebody else. But there was no
- 38:21Speaker 1: shame in that this season. There's no shame. Everybody saw everything,
- 38:25Speaker 1: like every kiss the women are watching now. That could
- 38:27Speaker 1: be the producers, could be I don't know, but night
- 38:32Speaker 1: one is not the night to do it. It's an
- 38:33Speaker 1: open stage. It's an open area. There's not a lot
- 38:35Speaker 1: of place to hide. If it would if if I
- 38:39Speaker 1: was on the advisement committee, I would say, hey, just
- 38:43Speaker 1: cool up for night one. Start night to do it
- 38:46Speaker 1: that time. Here's a small theory. Maybe because there wasn't
- 38:51Speaker 1: as much of an interest in him, they thought, how
- 38:54Speaker 1: do we make women really go crazy and how do
- 38:58Speaker 1: we get them to be possessive of? And that could
- 39:01Speaker 1: be watching him get physical with another girl. Possibly. I
- 39:07Speaker 1: don't know. I'm just really spitballing here. I mean, I
- 39:10Speaker 1: think I don't really think that's what it is. I
- 39:12Speaker 1: think your theory is correct. I think he probably just
- 39:14Speaker 1: felt a little awkward and he was like, what do
- 39:15Speaker 1: I know how to do? Which is the concern for
- 39:18Speaker 1: most people going into this season that Zak is going
- 39:20Speaker 1: to be very awkward and hard to watch, right, I
- 39:23Speaker 1: mean that's that's that is the critique of this season
- 39:26Speaker 1: going into it. So this didn't help me on that.
- 39:30Speaker 1: All right, well, Ben, I mean you're on fire today.
- 39:32Speaker 1: You could literally have done this podcast on your own.
- 39:35Speaker 1: He's got these theories and got bullet points, and you
- 39:38Speaker 1: really analyze this episode. I love it. Well. I want
- 39:43Speaker 1: Zack to thrive, I do. I want this to be
- 39:45Speaker 1: a great season for him. I want him to come
- 39:48Speaker 1: out of this finding love. I think Zach is I
- 39:50Speaker 1: will say this, I think he is the type of
- 39:52Speaker 1: person that will come off the show with a partner
- 39:54Speaker 1: and I would not be shock if they're going to
- 39:57Speaker 1: be together forever. I do think he has the desire
- 40:01Speaker 1: to find love. I think he has um the openness
- 40:05Speaker 1: to this experience. I also think Zach is looking at
- 40:08Speaker 1: this thing like I kind of hit the lottery, Like,
- 40:10Speaker 1: you know, I have thirtiesome beautiful women here trying to
- 40:15Speaker 1: date me and just like falling over me. And I
- 40:17Speaker 1: don't know how many times that's happened in Zack's life.
- 40:19Speaker 1: Were like you know, he's been pursued in this kind
- 40:23Speaker 1: of like capacity, and so I think it's a good
- 40:25Speaker 1: opportunity for him. I do. I think Zach could give
- 40:28Speaker 1: us a great love story, and I'm excited to watch that.
- 40:32Speaker 1: I would just say, yes, my my night. One critiques
- 40:36Speaker 1: are very critical because I didn't get anything that I
- 40:40Speaker 1: was wanting to get her. I think a lot of
- 40:42Speaker 1: viewers were wanting to get out of this first episode.
- 40:45Speaker 1: I just concur That's all I can say that I
- 40:47Speaker 1: agree with you. I'm pretty much everything you're saying. I mean,
- 40:50Speaker 1: Jesse even said Zack's like has this like he's so funny,
- 40:53Speaker 1: has this great sense of humor. It's like, what, we
- 40:55Speaker 1: haven't seen any of it, and we didn't see any
- 40:57Speaker 1: of it, Like, okay, then show him cracking a joke.
- 41:00Speaker 1: She'll make him fun of himself. Speaking of like trying
- 41:05Speaker 1: to be funny, I guess was Madison's moment when she
- 41:08Speaker 1: was dancing what was it called the giddy the jitty
- 41:11Speaker 1: they with the dance whenever. I've never heard of it before.
- 41:14Speaker 1: But also I'm like, mom, is it okay? I'm say,
- 41:19Speaker 1: uh so they're doing the dance thing and then she
- 41:23Speaker 1: kisses him and it's awkward. And then he's like he
- 41:25Speaker 1: but first he was like, I don't want to dance anymore.
- 41:27Speaker 1: Let's not dancing, Moore, that's enough. And then she kisses
- 41:30Speaker 1: him and he's like, let's continue to dance. So awkward,
- 41:34Speaker 1: he wasn't into it. But it was also like she
- 41:39Speaker 1: was being a little cry She was, but it's also
- 41:43Speaker 1: you know, I don't know what kind of expectations everybody
- 41:47Speaker 1: has going in to night one. It felt like she
- 41:49Speaker 1: had a lot, like I just want him to recognize me.
- 41:52Speaker 1: It's like, well, you got one thirty chance for that,
- 41:54Speaker 1: so don't freak out if on night one you're not
- 41:57Speaker 1: the one that stands out. You've got a long time
- 41:59Speaker 1: in front of here, still out, hang out, have a drink.
- 42:02Speaker 1: I was like, all I want is a little like
- 42:04Speaker 1: sparkle in his eye, like to see him like maybe
- 42:06Speaker 1: like double take at me. That's all I'm asking for.
- 42:09Speaker 1: I mean, it's just a lot, and you're kind of
- 42:12Speaker 1: in a whirlwind as the lead. You're turning in circles,
- 42:14Speaker 1: like every second you get there's somebody coming from this direction,
- 42:17Speaker 1: in this direction, in this direction, and to focus on
- 42:20Speaker 1: one person, to recognize one person, and to have that
- 42:24Speaker 1: sparkle like that that is doesn't happen every season. So
- 42:28Speaker 1: I wish, you know, she would have been told, hey,
- 42:30Speaker 1: just take a seat, hang out, you're good. She may
- 42:34Speaker 1: have made it through the night. She may have made
- 42:36Speaker 1: it through the night she she died. She could have
- 42:41Speaker 1: made it through the night. She reminded me a lot
- 42:44Speaker 1: of how Lace uh kind of felt on um my season.
- 42:52Speaker 1: Lace was overwhelmed with just like so much happening and
- 42:56Speaker 1: there is a lot happening, and there's cameras, and there's people,
- 42:58Speaker 1: and there's conversations, and then you all all, you all
- 43:01Speaker 1: are pursuing this one lead. And if if if you're
- 43:06Speaker 1: not like maybe in a great space, if you're not confident,
- 43:10Speaker 1: if you have some like insecurities that maybe you haven't
- 43:14Speaker 1: spoken to or tried to work through, they will come
- 43:17Speaker 1: out and they can come out and they can come
- 43:19Speaker 1: out with a vengeance. And sometimes we don't see those
- 43:21Speaker 1: insecurities for a couple of weeks on this show. But
- 43:24Speaker 1: you know, Lace just needed to go home, like she did.
- 43:27Speaker 1: She just and then that that was not necessarily even
- 43:30Speaker 1: my decisions. She just knew she needed to get out
- 43:32Speaker 1: of there because it wasn't creating a healthy environment for her.
- 43:34Speaker 1: I think the same thing from Madison. She needed to
- 43:36Speaker 1: go home. As soon as she started to cry on
- 43:38Speaker 1: night one, like she was, the first thing I thought
- 43:41Speaker 1: was like, this girl needs to get out of here.
- 43:43Speaker 1: This is not going to be healthy for her. This
- 43:45Speaker 1: is not gonna get any better for her. This is
- 43:47Speaker 1: not going to be one of those people, as we've
- 43:49Speaker 1: talked about, who leaves this show no matter when they
- 43:51Speaker 1: leave it and say I'm glad I did it. Yeah,
- 43:54Speaker 1: leaving on night one is usually and it would be
- 43:57Speaker 1: crying over. It's obviously not about you thinking that that
- 44:01Speaker 1: guy is your person. It's about like just the national rejection. Yeah,
- 44:05Speaker 1: which which sucks. I'm sure. I mean, I'm sure that hurts,
- 44:08Speaker 1: and I'm sure it's weird, and I'm sure you have
- 44:10Speaker 1: I mean, you know, she said I give up my
- 44:12Speaker 1: life for this. I don't know what kind of life
- 44:14Speaker 1: she gave up for this. Don't do that. If anybody's
- 44:16Speaker 1: listening and they're thinking about going on the show next season,
- 44:18Speaker 1: don't give up your life for this show. Like figure
- 44:21Speaker 1: out a way to you know, block out some time,
- 44:24Speaker 1: but like, don't go into this thinking that life's gonna change.
- 44:29Speaker 1: For you. Traditionally it doesn't. Historically it doesn't, and so
- 44:34Speaker 1: don't have that perspective, and it puts too much pressure
- 44:37Speaker 1: on the situation. It puts so much weight on every
- 44:40Speaker 1: interaction with the lead. You want to make sure this
- 44:42Speaker 1: person is right for you. You want to make sure
- 44:44Speaker 1: you're right for them, and just hang out, have fun
- 44:46Speaker 1: with it. Treat it like a sorority house or a
- 44:47Speaker 1: frat house, like, just enjoy the ride for as long
- 44:50Speaker 1: as you're riding. M all right. Well, when we look
- 44:54Speaker 1: at the rejects, Kara, Laca, Holland, Olivia, l Olivia, m Becca, Sonja, Vanessa,
- 45:04Speaker 1: and Victoria, I don't remember any of them except for
- 45:07Speaker 1: like who licked him and then Holland who wanted him
- 45:11Speaker 1: inside her? Do you remember? And it's pretty pretty typical
- 45:16Speaker 1: of the first row ceremony. It is there was one
- 45:19Speaker 1: girl that I had never seen. She was like a
- 45:21Speaker 1: taller blonde um who was very pretty that kind of
- 45:25Speaker 1: like snuck up and she was gone. I don't know
- 45:27Speaker 1: who what her name was, but I was like, huh,
- 45:29Speaker 1: we never saw anything about her, but I don't even
- 45:30Speaker 1: if we saw her limit limo entrance. Um. So that
- 45:34Speaker 1: was maybe a little of a shock. There's always one.
- 45:39Speaker 1: Gotta be the grocery shore jail. Yeah, yeah, definitely, So no,
- 45:43Speaker 1: nothing surprising on night one. Don't think any of our standouts,
- 45:47Speaker 1: any of the people focused on, didn't get shown and
- 45:50Speaker 1: they had to go home, so night one's over. It
- 45:54Speaker 1: did look eerily bright, like the sun was every time.
- 46:01Speaker 1: Every season it gets brighter and brighter. I was gonna say,
- 46:04Speaker 1: like some seasons you can kind of see the sun
- 46:06Speaker 1: coming up over the mountains there. Um, this season, it
- 46:10Speaker 1: felt like the sun was nice and high in the sky.
- 46:13Speaker 1: Time it was lunchtime. Those poor girls had to go
- 46:16Speaker 1: back to the hotel and sleep and then wake up
- 46:17Speaker 1: and get back on a flight and go home and
- 46:19Speaker 1: be like, I don't know what just happened to me?
- 46:21Speaker 1: Not a flight, It was weird. Yeah, what flight are
- 46:25Speaker 1: you talking about? For all the people that had to
- 46:27Speaker 1: go home on nightline. Oh, those girls had to go home, Okay,
- 46:30Speaker 1: they had to fly home. I don't think they ride
- 46:32Speaker 1: their bikes. Oh no, sorry, thinking thinking about the other girls.
- 46:37Speaker 1: They go to the hotel for a night and then
- 46:39Speaker 1: pack up their stuff and then move into the mansion.
- 46:41Speaker 1: The next night. They're moving into the mansion so overall,
- 46:46Speaker 1: it was a Night one. I'm not going to get
- 46:48Speaker 1: too critical of the rest of the season. I don't
- 46:49Speaker 1: know the highlights for the rest of season look like
- 46:52Speaker 1: how every season goes. There's tears, and there's people upset,
- 46:55Speaker 1: and there's people leaving, and there's you know, you know,
- 46:59Speaker 1: Zack fully sharing how much he wishes somebody would come back.
- 47:02Speaker 1: And I think it's gonna be, um a fine season.
- 47:07Speaker 1: I was hoping Night one just kind of blasted us
- 47:10Speaker 1: off into this whole new stratosphere of excitement. I would
- 47:13Speaker 1: say this could probably be another season where Week three
- 47:17Speaker 1: I don't watch till Week six and I'm fine with it. Um,
- 47:20Speaker 1: I hope not, but we'll find out next week after
- 47:23Speaker 1: watching the episode. And it's been another season where they
- 47:28Speaker 1: decided not to mix up Night one. I just want
- 47:30Speaker 1: something crazy on Night one. Yeah, mix it up a
- 47:33Speaker 1: little bit, like give us something different. I'll say. In
- 47:36Speaker 1: the scene to the next episode, there's like no fence jump,
- 47:40Speaker 1: but there's no moment that they'll be teasing for a while,
- 47:42Speaker 1: which kind of makes me nervous. Well, I think the
- 47:45Speaker 1: part that they'll be teasing will be the fact that
- 47:48Speaker 1: somebody leaves or that he lets somebody go home that
- 47:52Speaker 1: he really wishes comes back. Yeah, which, hey, I would
- 47:58Speaker 1: be a good storyline. Yeah, alright, Ashley, we uh, we
- 48:11Speaker 1: gotta do headlines. There are a few today. Um, let's
- 48:15Speaker 1: dive into it. There's Bachelor Nation headlines. The first headline
- 48:20Speaker 1: is one that threw me off, surprised me, um, saddened
- 48:24Speaker 1: me um as. I know a lot of people in
- 48:27Speaker 1: Bachelor Nation felt. Former bachelorette Dianna and stevens split after
- 48:32Speaker 1: eleven years of marriage. I know so sad. So if
- 48:36Speaker 1: you guys don't know their backstory, Steven Stagliano was actually
- 48:40Speaker 1: the brother of somebody who was a contestant on another
- 48:45Speaker 1: prior prior Bachelor at season, and the two of them
- 48:47Speaker 1: met through Bachelor Nation and they've been married for eleven years.
- 48:51Speaker 1: And they said, it's with immense sadness that Stephen and
- 48:54Speaker 1: I have decided to end our relationship as a couple.
- 48:56Speaker 1: We've been working hard for a long time, both as
- 48:59Speaker 1: a married couple and its individuals, and have come to
- 49:02Speaker 1: the conclusion to remain separate. We remain loving parents who
- 49:05Speaker 1: are beautiful children Addison in Austin, and will continue to
- 49:08Speaker 1: raise them together with love and faith and we respect
- 49:11Speaker 1: and please respect our privacy during the civil of time
- 49:14Speaker 1: as we navigate the new normal. Um, they've been the
- 49:20Speaker 1: children are eight and six, and she said in two
- 49:25Speaker 1: thousand eighteen she opened up about the marriage and she said,
- 49:28Speaker 1: we think you're crazy if you don't go to therapy. Um.
- 49:31Speaker 1: We are all a product of our environment and how
- 49:34Speaker 1: we were raised, and none of us are perfect. Yeah. Well,
- 49:38Speaker 1: it's tough news. We had her on the podcast last
- 49:41Speaker 1: year as they were moving. UM, I remember talking to her,
- 49:46Speaker 1: wishing the best as they start this new journey. As
- 49:49Speaker 1: they say, UM, co parenting still but doing it in
- 49:53Speaker 1: separate places. Well, Kristen Cavalary seemingly confirms date with Tyler Cameron.
- 49:59Speaker 1: UM romance speculation. This is a good headline. So if
- 50:04Speaker 1: you guys remember on New Year's Eve, UM, it was
- 50:09Speaker 1: Kristen and her hairstylist and his boyfriend with Tyler and
- 50:16Speaker 1: Caitlin and Jason out to dinner and people are like, well,
- 50:20Speaker 1: it seems like everybody at that table is coupled up. Well,
- 50:23Speaker 1: now she's kind of seemingly confirming this because she says,
- 50:29Speaker 1: my last date was public. She said this on her podcast.
- 50:34Speaker 1: My last day was public, So if you really want
- 50:36Speaker 1: to know, I guess you can google it. I know
- 50:41Speaker 1: she said that. Um, she doesn't have to say it,
- 50:46Speaker 1: but it was New Year's weekend, New Year's Eve weekend,
- 50:50Speaker 1: and uh, that's that's all she said. But she will
- 50:53Speaker 1: let you know when she's getting someone serious and is
- 50:56Speaker 1: it a committed relationship. She's the kind of person that
- 51:01Speaker 1: will shout it from the rooftops. But until then, she's
- 51:04Speaker 1: not going to comment on her love life any further, said,
- 51:07Speaker 1: your girl's going to have fun. So they met you, guys,
- 51:12Speaker 1: um when they were doing a collab for something. I
- 51:14Speaker 1: think he was modeling something, perhaps without com James, Yeah, James, Yeah.
- 51:19Speaker 1: So now you know, we always kind of thought this
- 51:22Speaker 1: would happen, always assumed. Well, Natasha Parker leaves Bachelor podcast
- 51:29Speaker 1: because of issues with franchise. Did you hear about this? Weird?
- 51:35Speaker 1: I mean not weird. I mean I'm sure there's a
- 51:38Speaker 1: good reason for it, but she's very vague about it.
- 51:40Speaker 1: She talks about it on click Bait. She said she's
- 51:43Speaker 1: leaving the podcast. She says that she's not going to
- 51:46Speaker 1: get into the who, what, why, and where and all
- 51:49Speaker 1: that stuff. Um, but in the past six months, she's
- 51:51Speaker 1: seen stuff happening in the franchise that is basically not
- 51:55Speaker 1: for her. She says, sometimes being part of the franchise
- 52:00Speaker 1: is hard to continue with and just like let that
- 52:03Speaker 1: be that. She says, the click pay producers are amazing
- 52:07Speaker 1: and she wants to continue podcasting. But he's like in
- 52:12Speaker 1: her own way, so we really don't get much. We
- 52:17Speaker 1: don't know what it is. We don't know what happened
- 52:19Speaker 1: in the last six months that made her make this decision.
- 52:21Speaker 1: Six months. Yeah, so maybe we'll find out if she
- 52:25Speaker 1: does come out with her new show. I'll be listening
- 52:28Speaker 1: to that. Well. Next inline is this shooting her shot
- 52:32Speaker 1: Bachelor alum Michelle Young since flirty message to Michael B.
- 52:36Speaker 1: Jordan's So this is this really funny TikTok trend where
- 52:42Speaker 1: basically it goes my mom says, never get into a
- 52:46Speaker 1: stranger's car, and then you show a stranger who's really
- 52:49Speaker 1: hot pretty much a celebrity. IM pretty sure it's always
- 52:52Speaker 1: a celebrity in the next little flash, and then you
- 52:56Speaker 1: show yourself or this guy getting into the car to
- 52:59Speaker 1: crazy manner. I personally love the Joe Burrow one, but
- 53:03Speaker 1: in Michelle's case, she's putting she's putting Michael b Jordan's
- 53:09Speaker 1: in that car, saying get in, and she jumps right in.
- 53:13Speaker 1: So she's not saying this really directly to Michael b Jordan's,
- 53:16Speaker 1: but she's putting the video out there and we are.
- 53:19Speaker 1: I am hoping that this becomes a thing and then
- 53:22Speaker 1: he sees it and reaches out. I hope so well.
- 53:25Speaker 1: Speaking of romance, bachelorette Gabby Wendy in Jersey Shore's Vinny
- 53:30Speaker 1: caught holding hands on Flirty night out for Dancing with
- 53:35Speaker 1: the Stars tour stop. All right, the headline is misleading.
- 53:41Speaker 1: They weren't caught holding hands on a Flirty unit out
- 53:45Speaker 1: for Dancing with the Stars. The held hands on stage
- 53:49Speaker 1: a Dancing with the Stars. I'm reading these little bits,
- 53:52Speaker 1: you know that they are um in Atlantic City, that
- 53:56Speaker 1: they did Ford shows together in Atlantic City, and everybody's like,
- 54:02Speaker 1: you know, doing this the dating speculation and they're like
- 54:05Speaker 1: always flirtatious, blah blah. But then like I get to
- 54:08Speaker 1: the crux of this article and it just says that
- 54:12Speaker 1: they're holding hands on stage and it seemed genuine like
- 54:18Speaker 1: this is no, this is exactly what they do. And
- 54:20Speaker 1: headlines and it's so silly. They held hands when they
- 54:23Speaker 1: bowed to the audience at the end. It seemed like
- 54:27Speaker 1: they held hands a few times, but it could have
- 54:29Speaker 1: been a part of a routine. So in the end,
- 54:33Speaker 1: still kind of they are they? Are they not? Are they?
- 54:36Speaker 1: Or are they not? Situation with Gabby and Vinny. I
- 54:41Speaker 1: think they could be playing into it. We're rooting it on.
- 54:44Speaker 1: Can it just happen? Do you think at this point
- 54:47Speaker 1: it's just like they're just kind of playing with it
- 54:49Speaker 1: and it's not legit because it would have like we
- 54:51Speaker 1: would have seen more and heard more if it was
- 54:55Speaker 1: still happen. Next headline one that will celebrate Bachelor Paradise Alam.
- 54:59Speaker 1: Michelle Money engaged to golfer Mike Weir. Me and you
- 55:03Speaker 1: forever is her quote. Alright, So Michelle Money and her
- 55:07Speaker 1: her now fiance golfer mic Weir have been together for
- 55:10Speaker 1: seven years and they haven't talked about um basically not
- 55:14Speaker 1: getting married in the past, just being like, we are
- 55:16Speaker 1: committed to each other forever, but we don't need a
- 55:19Speaker 1: piece of paper to make it legally official. But now
- 55:24Speaker 1: they've changed their mind. Michelle talks about on her into story.
- 55:27Speaker 1: I think she just was like you know, let's it's
- 55:30Speaker 1: just a change of mind, truly, and the two of
- 55:33Speaker 1: them had really cute Instagram posts I love you, I'm
- 55:36Speaker 1: so lucky, um mine, and of course Bachelor Nation was
- 55:42Speaker 1: very prominent in the comments underneath um all congratulating them
- 55:46Speaker 1: and so happy. Michelle Money is a serious favorite of
- 55:49Speaker 1: the franchise. She definitely is. We're really really excited for her. UM. Well,
- 55:56Speaker 1: that's all the headlines we have for you today. I
- 55:57Speaker 1: do want to say, Ashley that as you were breaking
- 56:01Speaker 1: this down, the ratings for last night came out. Oh god.
- 56:06Speaker 1: The headline is speaking that the Bachelor producers and exects
- 56:11Speaker 1: do believe the season will be down and may um
- 56:14Speaker 1: hurt the show drastically in some capacity. Last night the
- 56:18Speaker 1: show had two point eight million viewers and a zero
- 56:21Speaker 1: point six rating. It's down from last year's even premiere
- 56:25Speaker 1: of three point five million viewers and a point eight ratings,
- 56:28Speaker 1: So it's down seven thousand viewers. That is not good.
- 56:33Speaker 1: It's down to two point eight million viewers um, which
- 56:37Speaker 1: is a drastic decline from even four years ago. Klein
- 56:42Speaker 1: in a year, massive decline, huge percentage there. So it
- 56:47Speaker 1: makes us wonder once again If the headline is that
- 56:49Speaker 1: the Bachelor producers are concerned internally about this season having
- 56:53Speaker 1: low ratings, why in the world are they making the
- 56:56Speaker 1: decisions they're making. That's not for us to side. That's
- 57:00Speaker 1: for us to analyze and to critique and to make
- 57:04Speaker 1: assumptions about. And we'll do that every week right here
- 57:07Speaker 1: on the Almost Famous Podcast. Yes we will, So until
- 57:10Speaker 1: next time, I've been been as Follow the Benn and
- 57:16Speaker 1: Ashley I Almost Famous podcast on iHeart Radio or subscribe
- 57:20Speaker 1: wherever you listen to podcasts.
