- 0:00Speaker 1: Time off or back to the basics and healthcare with
- 0:02Speaker 1: Maulace Life Chiropractic. We have doctor Harley with us. How
- 0:04Speaker 1: you doing, doctor Harley?
- 0:05Speaker 2: Hey John, another beautiful week ahead.
- 0:07Speaker 1: Yeah, so last week it was eighty degrees and then
- 0:10Speaker 1: we had like rain and snow and yeah, this time
- 0:13Speaker 1: of year, you just never know what you're going.
- 0:14Speaker 2: Again, right, And that's why a lot of times we
- 0:15Speaker 2: talked this time you're about some of our health problems
- 0:18Speaker 2: that can be related to weather change, because especially you know,
- 0:21Speaker 2: spring is very much up and down here in the Midwest.
- 0:24Speaker 2: We have really nice days and we have snow, winter
- 0:28Speaker 2: comeback for a few.
- 0:30Speaker 1: Days, fake spring again and real winter again.
- 0:33Speaker 2: Right, and you might be, you know, tired of it too.
- 0:36Speaker 2: And maybe you're you know, because your head is hurting
- 0:38Speaker 2: so much. I've been getting headaches and migraines. Well, we
- 0:41Speaker 2: were just talking about this before when I was telling
- 0:43Speaker 2: you about what I want to talk about today. Yeah,
- 0:45Speaker 2: my phone's weather app had updated not too long ago.
- 0:49Speaker 2: And now every time there's like a big system or
- 0:51Speaker 2: pressure change. Yeah, there's like a little blurp on the
- 0:54Speaker 2: app saying pressure change. Colle to migraines. This week is
- 0:57Speaker 2: like it's interesting. I mean, it makes sense.
- 1:00Speaker 1: So if there's like warm front rolling in or a
- 1:03Speaker 1: cold front, some pressure change that could actually cause you
- 1:05Speaker 1: to have headaches, right.
- 1:07Speaker 2: Which you know, we think about migraines. They're very episodic
- 1:10Speaker 2: in nature.
- 1:10Speaker 1: A lot of times that's a pretty word, episodic.
- 1:14Speaker 2: Very fancy it is. Really what's happening is the pressure
- 1:17Speaker 2: in your head builds up too much and that can
- 1:19Speaker 2: really lead to triggering those migraines. A lot of times
- 1:22Speaker 2: people don't have a rhyme or reason or a trigger
- 1:24Speaker 2: for their migraines, but that pressure just gets so much
- 1:27Speaker 2: that a migraine comes on and then it lasts for
- 1:29Speaker 2: however long it lasts because that pressure starts to recede slowly.
- 1:33Speaker 2: And you're wondering, well, that's great and all, but what
- 1:35Speaker 2: you as a chiropractor, what is this going to do
- 1:37Speaker 2: to help with migraines. Well, a lot of times the
- 1:40Speaker 2: upper neck bones in our spine actually are out of
- 1:43Speaker 2: alignment and that's affecting how that pressure is changing in
- 1:47Speaker 2: our head. Because there's a lot of fluid that hangs
- 1:49Speaker 2: out in our nervous system keeps it hydrated and helps,
- 1:52Speaker 2: you know, bring waste products in and out fresh fluid,
- 1:55Speaker 2: and that comes through our skull and those top to
- 1:58Speaker 2: bones in our neck I think are like kind of
- 2:00Speaker 2: like a drain in a bathtub, and in this case,
- 2:02Speaker 2: we want that drain always open so that the water,
- 2:05Speaker 2: that fluid can be constantly draining and refreshing. But what
- 2:09Speaker 2: happens when we have upper cervical or upper neck misslign
- 2:12Speaker 2: is it kind of puts like a stopper, It plugs
- 2:14Speaker 2: it up. So now that pressure is really starting to
- 2:16Speaker 2: build up, leading to headaches, migraines, and all sorts of
- 2:20Speaker 2: not so fun things. So we as chiropractice and we're
- 2:22Speaker 2: adjusting the upper neck. That helps restore that proper flow
- 2:26Speaker 2: of fluid, taking that pressure out, helping release the pressure
- 2:29Speaker 2: out of your head, which is where we see helping
- 2:30Speaker 2: get rid of those migraines.
- 2:32Speaker 1: So all of the stuff you just said, I heard
- 2:33Speaker 1: you say, I can help you if you have an
- 2:35Speaker 1: ali head, yeah right, if you have a booboo between
- 2:41Speaker 1: your ears. I'm sorry. No, I just again, very impressive
- 2:45Speaker 1: all the stuff that you talk about. But that is
- 2:47Speaker 1: a lot more than most people think about. What we
- 2:49Speaker 1: think about is, man, I got a headache, and there
- 2:52Speaker 1: are some people who suffer from migraines episodically. I discovered
- 2:56Speaker 1: today if that's you know, recurring, they have this over
- 2:59Speaker 1: and over and over. So if they have that, they
- 3:01Speaker 1: might not even realize that chiropractic could actually potentially be
- 3:05Speaker 1: one of the things they could do to help alleviate
- 3:07Speaker 1: that exactly.
- 3:08Speaker 2: I know, like when we first have a pain, our
- 3:10Speaker 2: first instinct is to take whatever over the counter pain
- 3:12Speaker 2: medication that it's canna help us feel better, but it's
- 3:15Speaker 2: not stopping what's causing the headaches for the migraine, so
- 3:18Speaker 2: they keep coming back. Where we find with chiropractic we've
- 3:21Speaker 2: been able to help get rid of migraines. I had
- 3:24Speaker 2: a patient that they used to have a migraine every week.
- 3:28Speaker 2: It'd last a couple of days, so they'd have multiple
- 3:30Speaker 2: migraines a month, and they had been having it since
- 3:33Speaker 2: they were four. I think she's in her thirties or
- 3:35Speaker 2: forties now, and you know, maybe we couldn't get rid
- 3:38Speaker 2: of the migraines at one hundred percent, but after a
- 3:41Speaker 2: few weeks of care, you know, she's noticed that they
- 3:43Speaker 2: had gotten better. And then over the course of a
- 3:45Speaker 2: couple of months. She's like, I haven't had a migraine
- 3:47Speaker 2: in two months, because her first one showed up after
- 3:50Speaker 2: she had started. She's like, I just had a migraine
- 3:52Speaker 2: and we're like, oh no, that's not great. But for her,
- 3:55Speaker 2: she had gone two months in her entire life now
- 3:58Speaker 2: without a migraine. Huge.
- 4:00Speaker 1: That is huge, and that's something that if you struggle
- 4:02Speaker 1: without or if you know some of the struggles with that,
- 4:04Speaker 1: I would encourage you to reach out to doctor Harley.
- 4:06Speaker 2: How do they do that, I think give us a
- 4:07Speaker 2: call at six year O five two one five one
