- 0:43[SPEAKER_05]: It is our last show in Austin, Texas before we are out of here.
- 0:48[SPEAKER_05]: So I was like, look, guys.
- 0:49[SPEAKER_05]: You gotta come in and do the show one more time here, okay?
- 0:53[SPEAKER_02]: I was privileged to know that we're a little, you know, self.
- 0:55[SPEAKER_02]: So the ride is just through Hill Country, and it's a relatively easy drive.
- 0:59[SPEAKER_02]: It is, like an hour.
- 1:00[SPEAKER_05]: Dude, it's like 50 minutes.
- 1:02[SPEAKER_02]: So it just makes you more of an asshole friend that I have not taken the trek up here in the last three years.
- 1:05[SPEAKER_02]: And that's okay with me.
- 1:06[SPEAKER_05]: Is this your first time in the studio?
- 1:08[SPEAKER_02]: It is.
- 1:09[SPEAKER_02]: come on.
- 1:09[SPEAKER_02]: It is.
- 1:10[SPEAKER_05]: We've been here for six and a half years.
- 1:12[SPEAKER_05]: I know.
- 1:12[SPEAKER_02]: You know, I was at the one in Austin.
- 1:15[SPEAKER_02]: I was at the Christmas show.
- 1:16[SPEAKER_02]: Yeah.
- 1:17[SPEAKER_02]: Well, the Christmas show and then we did the downtown one in Austin.
- 1:20[SPEAKER_05]: Oh, that's right.
- 1:21[SPEAKER_05]: That's right.
- 1:21[SPEAKER_05]: It's done the election.
- 1:22[SPEAKER_05]: So we bought this building.
- 1:24[SPEAKER_05]: This was a this was a penicounseled church.
- 1:27[SPEAKER_05]: For real, so the only thing that remains from it is this I got of the entire place if you look back there That remains because they were showing like hymns and shit like that up there Bible verses yeah, Bob and mine the right here by saying hymns or is he he's back in the interior Bob's not it's no longer with this.
- 1:46[SPEAKER_05]: He's not dead Yeah, he's on Jesus man.
- 1:50[SPEAKER_05]: Rest in peace.
- 1:51[SPEAKER_05]: No, he's actually interviewing for Blackcraft right now in the back back studio But uh
- 1:54[SPEAKER_05]: We kept that.
- 1:56[SPEAKER_05]: They asked us if we wanted to keep the snake pit.
- 1:58[SPEAKER_05]: I said, no.
- 1:59[SPEAKER_02]: Nice.
- 2:00[SPEAKER_02]: Because they put the cockfighting ring.
- 2:02[SPEAKER_05]: Cockfighting rings out back.
- 2:03[SPEAKER_05]: That stayed.
- 2:04[SPEAKER_05]: But the metal barrel where they were warming up the snakes.
- 2:08[SPEAKER_05]: Because I thought it was for baptisms.
- 2:10[SPEAKER_06]: You're a barrel baptizing?
- 2:12[SPEAKER_05]: Yeah.
- 2:12[SPEAKER_05]: Well, here's the thing, guys.
- 2:14[SPEAKER_05]: There was electrical wiring going into it.
- 2:17[SPEAKER_05]: So I just assumed it was warming the water for the kids or something like that.
- 2:21[SPEAKER_02]: No, yeah, it was one of the water, you got to warn the kids for mischievous, I believe it in theology, you call it serpents, not serpents, yeah, direct correlation between, yeah, it's something like that, it's some whole Bible thing, you know, I don't I don't spend a lot of time, AI big words, then you sound like you know you're doing like serpent theology, I can't do it, I do it, serpent's not stakes, yeah
- 2:43[SPEAKER_06]: Since not tragedy, you did come on.
- 2:46[SPEAKER_02]: That's my new tattoo, Serpent Life, bro.
- 2:48[SPEAKER_02]: Serpent Life, bro.
- 2:50[SPEAKER_02]: Serpent Life, bro.
- 2:51[SPEAKER_02]: Serpent Life, bro.
- 2:52[SPEAKER_05]: Serpent Life, bro.
- 2:54[SPEAKER_05]: Fuck you.
- 2:54[SPEAKER_05]: Fuck you.
- 2:55[SPEAKER_05]: That Serpent Life is for the crab hits this man.
- 3:00[SPEAKER_05]: After I heard that story about...
- 3:02[SPEAKER_05]: when they had Zoe and the mom of their Lisa Bonet and the Boa Constrictor got loose and Taylor Swift's wall.
- 3:08[SPEAKER_05]: I was like, I'm all good on that family.
- 3:09[SPEAKER_05]: I'm all good.
- 3:10[SPEAKER_05]: That's a, if you have to travel with a Boa Constrictor, which that would be annoying.
- 3:15[SPEAKER_06]: No, first off.
- 3:15[SPEAKER_06]: No, we're not doing that.
- 3:17[SPEAKER_06]: No, we're not doing that.
- 3:17[SPEAKER_06]: We're not doing that.
- 3:19[SPEAKER_06]: I don't.
- 3:19[SPEAKER_06]: Like, first, I, you hate pets in general, though.
- 3:24[SPEAKER_06]: Well, well, well, well, anything that's a mild inconvenience.
- 3:26[SPEAKER_06]: That is natural.
- 3:27[SPEAKER_06]: I don't understand the concept of a pet.
- 3:31[SPEAKER_05]: Which one though because you've had wild animals throughout your house.
- 3:34[SPEAKER_05]: That's when you got a coli That's right.
- 3:36[SPEAKER_02]: I remember that he said he was pressure wash and I I was pressure Gas station rod sushi.
- 3:41[SPEAKER_05]: Yeah, that's bullshit dude.
- 3:42[SPEAKER_06]: It's absolutely bullshit.
- 3:43[SPEAKER_06]: What do you mean?
- 3:43[SPEAKER_06]: What is that bullshit?
- 3:44[SPEAKER_06]: The whole thing was is the chickens all didn't they didn't have a coop?
- 3:48[SPEAKER_06]: There was no freaking If you let him in the house, they rolled to the house.
- 3:52[SPEAKER_05]: It was a fucking full-size turkey people
- 3:55[SPEAKER_05]: full of them in the house and then he had 40 baby ducks that were in one of those warmers that I was talking about and the kittens to I remember the stench of a moan I walked there that's why I didn't freak what your house for a while I was just did it wasn't it was an animal it was an animal kingdom your house is Jurassic Park yeah there's animals currently living in there but they're humans yeah how many people still live in that house 13 okay is that true no
- 4:22[SPEAKER_05]: I got Caleb.
- 4:23[SPEAKER_05]: Yes Heather.
- 4:24[SPEAKER_05]: Yes.
- 4:24[SPEAKER_05]: Jack Manavill.
- 4:25[SPEAKER_05]: That's it.
- 4:26[SPEAKER_05]: Oh, that's the only three property.
- 4:28[SPEAKER_05]: Okay.
- 4:29[SPEAKER_05]: Yeah.
- 4:30[SPEAKER_05]: All right.
- 4:30[SPEAKER_05]: They did they pay rent?
- 4:31[SPEAKER_06]: Like how does that work their own space?
- 4:32[SPEAKER_05]: I know I understand that.
- 4:33[SPEAKER_05]: You've got a you've got a massive compound over there.
- 4:36[SPEAKER_05]: Yeah, everybody can.
- 4:36[SPEAKER_06]: Very cult like it's it's it's it's like a you know, it's a can it's a contribute tour.
- 4:41[SPEAKER_05]: But do they pay?
- 4:42[SPEAKER_05]: Yes.
- 4:43[SPEAKER_05]: Okay.
- 4:43[SPEAKER_05]: They do.
- 4:43[SPEAKER_06]: But but also to like, you know, Caleb gets the landscaping done.
- 4:48[SPEAKER_06]: Like he knows shit, okay, what does Jack do I don't see Jack doing anything.
- 4:53[SPEAKER_06]: Oh, yeah, do Jack Jack make sure the bar is clean spotless and stocked at any given time I feel like do you have a piece of paper printed out where it's a good short list?
- 5:01[SPEAKER_02]: Yeah, no, no, I don't have to because Jack just does it.
- 5:05[SPEAKER_02]: I do love
- 5:06[SPEAKER_02]: I look, I love Jackson and my top people.
- 5:08[SPEAKER_06]: Same here, Jack would never allow a period of time to go by where he thinks that he's just consuming.
- 5:14[SPEAKER_06]: He has to over like deliver value.
- 5:18[SPEAKER_02]: It's probably easier without the goats and chickens in there, so it's a human mess.
- 5:22[SPEAKER_06]: Yep, and I'm pretty sure that it's, but that's a thing.
- 5:24[SPEAKER_06]: Heather orders food.
- 5:27[SPEAKER_06]: all two meals a week that she eats.
- 5:29[SPEAKER_06]: Okay.
- 5:30[SPEAKER_06]: You know, door dash?
- 5:31[SPEAKER_06]: Yeah, door dash.
- 5:32[SPEAKER_06]: So a week?
- 5:32[SPEAKER_06]: Yeah.
- 5:33[SPEAKER_06]: Yeah.
- 5:33[SPEAKER_06]: Heather, Heather, Heather, you know, goes.
- 5:34[SPEAKER_05]: He's a girl.
- 5:35[SPEAKER_06]: Hibernation mode and things like that.
- 5:37[SPEAKER_06]: She eats at late at night.
- 5:39[SPEAKER_06]: Jack, same thing, he'll either go down the hill, because we have a trail cut in the back that allows us to get to dark side pizza or indulge, which is, which, you know, those are two restaurants.
- 5:53[SPEAKER_05]: No life is so much more different than mine.
- 5:54[SPEAKER_05]: Oh, they're, it's different than everyone else.
- 5:57[SPEAKER_05]: And the liquor, it's never changed.
- 5:58[SPEAKER_06]: And the liquor stores.
- 5:59[SPEAKER_06]: So you can take a razor to two restaurants in the liquor store.
- 6:02[SPEAKER_06]: So really, at any given point, you don't necessarily have to leave a, like, half a mile radius for a period of weeks.
- 6:11[SPEAKER_05]: Yes.
- 6:12[SPEAKER_05]: But that's not a great thing.
- 6:13[SPEAKER_05]: I don't know.
- 6:14[SPEAKER_05]: There's times where I've gone over there.
- 6:16[SPEAKER_02]: Oh, I'm getting, though, is I think that he needs a pet python.
- 6:19[SPEAKER_02]: This is, like, this is, no.
- 6:20[SPEAKER_02]: Ebola, Ebola.
- 6:22[SPEAKER_06]: I travel, and I like to also have options open, meaning if you call and you're like, I want you in Tampa, Florida, tomorrow.
- 6:30[SPEAKER_06]: Yeah.
- 6:31[SPEAKER_06]: I don't have to go, oh, I have to find a place for the dog or I got to do this.
- 6:34[SPEAKER_06]: No, okay, you know, be there.
- 6:36[SPEAKER_05]: You've got a whole fucking zoo over there.
- 6:38[SPEAKER_05]: It's just that God damn wildlife exhibits, so you wouldn't even have to feed those fuckers.
- 6:41[SPEAKER_05]: He just opened up the doors and then come in and snack in the pantry and do the whole thing.
- 6:46[SPEAKER_06]: The chickens were on the porch and they had shit all over the porch so I was pressure washing the porch, then I got to go in and what the fumes or something gone inside.
- 6:54[SPEAKER_06]: It was just the like pressure washing, you know, it splatters everywhere.
- 6:57[SPEAKER_05]: It sure does.
- 6:58[SPEAKER_06]: It's ingested.
- 6:59[SPEAKER_06]: It's a bacteria, right?
- 7:00[SPEAKER_05]: It is.
- 7:01[SPEAKER_05]: Yeah.
- 7:02[SPEAKER_06]: It's incredibly painful.
- 7:03[SPEAKER_05]: I've heard so bad.
- 7:04[SPEAKER_05]: I've heard, but you shit non-stop, right?
- 7:07[SPEAKER_06]: And then your stomach has like the worst, like equal to a kidney stone pain that will not go away just constantly and it never, it never subdues.
- 7:17[SPEAKER_06]: So how did you get rid of it?
- 7:18[SPEAKER_06]: We were in the hospital?
- 7:19[SPEAKER_06]: Yeah, I did go.
- 7:20[SPEAKER_06]: I got a bunch of morphine for a while.
- 7:22[SPEAKER_06]: That's fun.
- 7:22[SPEAKER_06]: Yeah.
- 7:23[SPEAKER_06]: But it's not fun when it's just subsiding the pain, right?
- 7:28[SPEAKER_06]: Well, at least you could breathe at that point.
- 7:30[SPEAKER_06]: But yeah, after a while, you just, I mean, you just have to gut through it.
- 7:33[SPEAKER_06]: You know, they give you...
- 7:35[SPEAKER_06]: and a biotics or whatever to kill it, but it's like, it hurts.
- 7:38[SPEAKER_05]: Yeah, yeah, I bet it does, dude.
- 7:41[SPEAKER_05]: And I thought for sure, because you're engaged now, is she out in the lobby?
- 7:45[SPEAKER_06]: Yeah, she's out, she's out in the lobby.
- 7:46[SPEAKER_05]: She's drifting out in the parking line.
- 7:47[SPEAKER_05]: Probably, yeah.
- 7:48[SPEAKER_05]: Which she's allowed to.
- 7:49[SPEAKER_05]: And we only left, she can do whatever she wants.
- 7:51[SPEAKER_06]: She's also, you know, it's her profession.
- 7:53[SPEAKER_06]: She's good at it.
- 7:53[SPEAKER_06]: She's great at it.
- 7:54[SPEAKER_05]: And I watched the videos on YouTube, congratulations.
- 7:57[SPEAKER_05]: She's very happy.
- 7:58[SPEAKER_05]: Very, very happy.
- 7:59[SPEAKER_05]: Matt, you seem very happy as well.
- 8:00[SPEAKER_05]: Look at him.
- 8:01[SPEAKER_01]: Hey, thanks.
- 8:01[SPEAKER_05]: I know, for real.
- 8:04[SPEAKER_05]: Going through business shit is very, very fucking hard.
- 8:09[SPEAKER_05]: You know, we've got all the message boards up from when Jared created them from drinking bros main.
- 8:14[SPEAKER_05]: Now we've got the app, that's free, and we're expanding upon that and kind of Jared's vision from the beginning of this, we can get a hold of somebody 24 hours a day, so we don't have an admin in there for that reason.
- 8:26[SPEAKER_05]: So it's like, hey, and there was a guy last night, two in the morning.
- 8:29[SPEAKER_05]: It was just like, hey man, I'm not doing well, can somebody call me?
- 8:32[SPEAKER_05]: Boom.
- 8:32[SPEAKER_05]: It's 35,000 subscribers already and that's, hey, they're able to reach out.
- 8:36[SPEAKER_05]: So like we're just extending your vision essentially and then the final thing will be an app on television that you can download and it'll be free and then put all our content up there for all over the years, but
- 8:48[SPEAKER_05]: you know, since this is our last show in Texas, let's go back to the beginning of all of this on a serious note.
- 8:55[SPEAKER_05]: I want to thank you guys while you're here for changing my life.
- 8:58[SPEAKER_05]: For real, this this podcast and this community that you guys created because I came in afterwards.
- 9:06[SPEAKER_05]: I think there was a it was somebody else.
- 9:08[SPEAKER_05]: That was doing the podcast, but you said, hey, we need a host and after working together on the screenplay for range 15 I said, hey, I think I could do that for you, and then I actually know I'll give you the real thing.
- 9:18[SPEAKER_05]: Well, was it?
- 9:18[SPEAKER_06]: Okay, so originally Matt and I were approached by Sirius XM
- 9:23[SPEAKER_06]: about doing it they saw what what we had going on they wanted to replicate in a veteran morning show so that is what that is what prompted me to create the first Facebook group was okay if we're gonna get this radio show a Facebook group is a perfect place to have people able to message us or say hey we'll call in or I've got a story or here's here's a way for you to feed us information if we're doing a radio show so I mean that's what put it in my head
- 9:51[SPEAKER_06]: leading up to that.
- 9:52[SPEAKER_06]: But what happened was they came back to Matt and I and one of the initial meetings and they said, okay, it's going to be Monday through Friday, 9-11.
- 9:59[SPEAKER_06]: And we both went, no, we don't want to do that.
- 10:02[SPEAKER_06]: That's a hard fucking thing.
- 10:03[SPEAKER_05]: Yeah, of course.
- 10:04[SPEAKER_05]: Of course.
- 10:04[SPEAKER_05]: Of course.
- 10:05[SPEAKER_05]: You, you, you, you, you guys like to do a ton of, of different shit at once.
- 10:09[SPEAKER_05]: So I can't.
- 10:10[SPEAKER_05]: And you lose interest after a couple of months.
- 10:12[SPEAKER_06]: Not doing something 9-11 months.
- 10:13[SPEAKER_02]: I like to feel like it's a stain.
- 10:15[SPEAKER_02]: Yes, but yeah, Jared wanted to do drink and grows when he came up with the idea and then I actually was pretty against it at first because I was like, well, we need someone who knows how to host and talk and hear the conversation because Jared's super fucking funny, I'm a little more reserved and when we were talking with Rocco at the time, it was like, what do we do and then yeah, that's when it for at least in my perspective when range 15 happened, it was like, well, fuck Ross would be a great fit.
- 10:38[SPEAKER_02]: Let's bring him on the show and then and what I when I thought you two was
- 10:43[SPEAKER_06]: if we can get this going and get a catalog when we go to theaters.
- 10:48[SPEAKER_06]: Like, because I had it in my head that you would have a lot of people see this movie that didn't know who we were.
- 10:54[SPEAKER_06]: So they would immediately Google us.
- 10:56[SPEAKER_06]: So what I was, what I was, that's what happened.
- 10:58[SPEAKER_06]: So by the way, yeah.
- 10:59[SPEAKER_06]: Was, if we had a show,
- 11:01[SPEAKER_06]: I wanted that to be the catch of their search when they looked us up.
- 11:06[SPEAKER_06]: So they went, wait, who are these guys that are like the military version of Broken Lizard?
- 11:11[SPEAKER_06]: And it's, oh, they're a host of this show and that's when I was like, you know, let's do it.
- 11:15[SPEAKER_06]: Let's do it and you didn't think it would work over the phone.
- 11:18[SPEAKER_05]: Yeah, because I wasn't familiar with podcasts.
- 11:22[SPEAKER_05]: I was doing movies in TV and all that other shit.
- 11:24[SPEAKER_05]: And then my wife asked Jesse, I said, hey, what do you know about podcasts?
- 11:29[SPEAKER_05]: She goes, I was in a podcast all the time.
- 11:31[SPEAKER_05]: And so I go, great, can you give me a couple of them?
- 11:34[SPEAKER_05]: The two should give me, we're Joe Rogan and Mark Merritt.
- 11:37[SPEAKER_05]: And Mark Marin, he was a original comedy.
- 11:39[SPEAKER_05]: Oh yeah, yeah, never heard of that guy.
- 11:42[SPEAKER_05]: Chirrogan, and so those are the two that I listened to initially, and I was like, oh, shit, this is me talking shit, the same way in a different version of it.
- 11:52[SPEAKER_05]: And she found fighter in the kid, because I was a third one I listened to.
- 11:56[SPEAKER_05]: And that's why she put him in the movie.
- 11:58[SPEAKER_05]: She goes, hey, you've got to cast these guys.
- 11:59[SPEAKER_05]: I think there's shows going to be big.
- 12:00[SPEAKER_05]: And then I was like, all right, let's take the fighter in the kid model with a comedian and a professional fighter.
- 12:07[SPEAKER_05]: Let's take a professional comedian and then a bunch of dudes from the military because we all have the same dark sense of humor.
- 12:12[SPEAKER_05]: And she was the one who said, I think you should go for this.
- 12:15[SPEAKER_05]: And at the time, Hollywood was changing.
- 12:19[SPEAKER_05]: DVDs were dead, streaming and started.
- 12:21[SPEAKER_05]: I had sold back to back movies to Netflix.
- 12:24[SPEAKER_05]: Now, your fame is so overnight, again, like, for real.
- 12:27[SPEAKER_05]: Like Netflix really does change your life from a fame perspective.
- 12:31[SPEAKER_05]: And that was, I saw the first one in 2012, the second one in 2013.
- 12:34[SPEAKER_05]: And everybody fucking stops you in the street, and it's awesome.
- 12:38[SPEAKER_05]: However, the money was dog shit.
- 12:40[SPEAKER_06]: Yeah.
- 12:40[SPEAKER_05]: I mean, absolute dog shit.
- 12:41[SPEAKER_06]: Did you say we're just giving a fixed price?
- 12:43[SPEAKER_06]: Or 100 grand.
- 12:44[SPEAKER_06]: You know, five years of license.
- 12:45[SPEAKER_05]: 100 grand, that's all you got.
- 12:47[SPEAKER_05]: And if the ratings did well, then they renewed it for the next year.
- 12:49[SPEAKER_05]: But it went down to like 50 and then 25, and then yeah, give us another movie.
- 12:53[SPEAKER_05]: And so, I'm in your office in Salt Lake City talking with you.
- 12:58[SPEAKER_05]: The both of you guys in Evan, and Evan goes, where do you think this is all headed with Hollywood?
- 13:03[SPEAKER_05]: And I said, I think it's going to die.
- 13:05[SPEAKER_05]: I go, I think it's crumbling, and the streaming thing is going to fuck over everything, and I really want to give this a go with podcasts.
- 13:13[SPEAKER_05]: And I'm going to switch and go full time and give this...
- 13:17[SPEAKER_05]: everything that I got because I think this is the future and then I call my manager and he knew who you guys were because he'd seen the commercials and all that of the shits and his name fucking super right or whatever which by the way you weren't.
- 13:31[SPEAKER_05]: I always said this like you guys never talked about politics and most of you guys were libertarians like all three of you if memory serves me correctly at the time like it was 2015 and
- 13:43[SPEAKER_05]: But also nobody really cared about poster, nobody cared about poster, nobody cared about poster, nobody cared about poster, nobody cared about poster, nobody cared about poster, nobody cared about poster, nobody cared about poster, nobody cared about poster, nobody cared about poster, nobody cared about poster, nobody cared about poster, nobody cared about poster, nobody cared about poster, nobody cared about poster, nobody cared about poster, nobody cared about poster, nobody cared about poster, nobody cared about poster, nobody cared about poster, nobody cared about poster, nobody cared about poster, nobody cared about poster, nobody cared about poster, nobody cared about poster, nobody cared about poster, nobody cared about poster, nobody cared about poster, nobody cared about poster, nobody cared about poster, nobody cared about poster, nobody cared about poster, nobody cared about poster, nobody cared about poster, nobody cared about poster, nobody cared about poster, nobody cared about poster, nobody cared about poster, nobody cared about poster, nobody cared about poster, nobody cared about poster, nobody cared about poster, nobody cared about poster, nobody cared about poster,
- 14:11[SPEAKER_02]: into the Trump era like the amount of hatred just for posting a fucking firearm in your Instagram was just out of this world.
- 14:18[SPEAKER_02]: What do you think there was like four years there where it just, you know, go spend everything.
- 14:22[SPEAKER_02]: And I mean, you had news outlets that all like Rolling Stone did an article on me called me like sexualization of the gun industry and all the things.
- 14:30[SPEAKER_02]: It was just there was hit articles one after another that were coming out just literally just because you own a fucking firearm which also you morons is a constitutional right.
- 14:39[SPEAKER_06]: It was a bizarre.
- 14:42[SPEAKER_06]: What happened was, and we all know this, is
- 14:45[SPEAKER_06]: The Silicon Valley got the loudest.
- 14:48[SPEAKER_06]: So, Silicon Valley is where all this stuff was owned.
- 14:50[SPEAKER_06]: You had YouTube, Facebook, Twitter, Jack Dorsey, this whole thing.
- 14:53[SPEAKER_06]: And they all subscribe to this woke, hard, left, horseshit.
- 14:58[SPEAKER_06]: And then they muscled everything that they could to muffle anything that wasn't that.
- 15:03[SPEAKER_06]: But the thing is, is, again, all of us know the reality, the stark reality is, hey guys, you don't survive.
- 15:11[SPEAKER_06]: If security is not absolute and this is this has been my argument now anytime somebody wants to bring this stuff up on the hard Left about guns or anything like that like that's great.
- 15:20[SPEAKER_06]: You have that opinion But you don't survive when all this goes to shit.
- 15:25[SPEAKER_06]: Oh, well, what do you mean?
- 15:26[SPEAKER_06]: Oh, well, you're dead Like you don't have you don't have resources you don't plan you don't have the the means to protect yourself Like even even when COVID happened the amount of my Washington and California friends that all the sudden were on the phone with me asking
- 15:40[SPEAKER_02]: How do I get a gun if you've got a gun advice like if you have the lasers during that air like now I wrote that in the quarantine Yeah, which is a whole different thing because that was number one of you crane for like five weeks quarantine to Montana the road
- 15:55[SPEAKER_01]: It's like, well, well, they're still rocking that.
- 15:57[SPEAKER_05]: Yeah, probably on the front line, you know, four and a half years of that fucking war.
- 16:02[SPEAKER_06]: So you can always use that.
- 16:03[SPEAKER_06]: You go, that's cool.
- 16:04[SPEAKER_06]: That's cool that you believe that, but you just won't survive.
- 16:07[SPEAKER_06]: Like when they go, what do you mean?
- 16:09[SPEAKER_06]: The only reason that you can even say what you're saying and by the end of it is because right now, you believe security is absolute.
- 16:15[SPEAKER_06]: And that's what that's the fallacy that a lot of people in the United States have is they think this will never happen to me.
- 16:20[SPEAKER_06]: I can go to AGB and I just have to Billy Bop around and nothing's gonna go down.
- 16:24[SPEAKER_06]: how fast the stuff changes.
- 16:26[SPEAKER_05]: Oh, overnight.
- 16:27[SPEAKER_05]: And then in 2015, the last thing that he said was, what are you going to do just sitting in a garage and talking on microphone to your friends?
- 16:34[SPEAKER_05]: What the fuck are you going to do?
- 16:37[SPEAKER_05]: And I go, I mean, I pause.
- 16:38[SPEAKER_05]: And I was like, I guess, because I don't really know how it worked.
- 16:41[SPEAKER_05]: And by the way,
- 16:42[SPEAKER_05]: for show I'm in the garage and I'm having this conversation I was like oh shit what have I done with my life and uh... and then boom it takes off pretty quickly um... the show took off pretty quickly we were to behind rogan for a very long time so i mean uh... you know i have a photographic memory i'll tell you we did pay you explained yeah we recorded two back to back we did it was it was the day before um... thanksgiving by the way yes and
- 17:07[SPEAKER_06]: You and I were still figuring out how to even fucking publish them by the way.
- 17:12[SPEAKER_06]: Huh?
- 17:12[SPEAKER_06]: Remember?
- 17:12[SPEAKER_05]: Yeah, we're like, let's say it was our house.
- 17:14[SPEAKER_06]: Okay, we, uh, we've got them recorded.
- 17:16[SPEAKER_06]: What do we do now?
- 17:17[SPEAKER_05]: It's like Google's.
- 17:18[SPEAKER_05]: Was that a good 15?
- 17:19[SPEAKER_02]: Yeah, and I Google's.
- 17:20[SPEAKER_02]: Was, I think I did one trip, still at Afghanistan.
- 17:24[SPEAKER_05]: Yeah, the first time I talked to you, you were overseas.
- 17:26[SPEAKER_05]: Yeah.
- 17:26[SPEAKER_05]: And it looked like a fucking Al Jazeera video where I'm in Jared's bedroom.
- 17:30[SPEAKER_05]: And we're just staring at your face.
- 17:32[SPEAKER_05]: Everything's blocked up and you've got one American flag draped over and I was like oh and I do nothing like My entire family is in the military, but it's way different generations obviously and I turn a journey ago He must be important man.
- 17:45[SPEAKER_02]: He's blocking out the background He's about to fuck no somebody like you know the day sometimes you gotta black out the windows He's merely just trying to get those that REM sleep.
- 17:53[SPEAKER_05]: Well, I've learned over time obviously, but that was our first conversation And I was like oh shit man, we put we put one out on a Friday
- 18:03[SPEAKER_06]: That Tuesday, that next Tuesday, and by that Friday,
- 18:09[SPEAKER_06]: We had 6,500 listens.
- 18:12[SPEAKER_06]: Yep.
- 18:12[SPEAKER_06]: So it's a 3,000, 3,000, 3,000, 3,000, 3,200 piece.
- 18:16[SPEAKER_06]: And you were like, holy shit.
- 18:18[SPEAKER_06]: I know.
- 18:18[SPEAKER_06]: 3,000 people, like, I didn't remember on the phone.
- 18:21[SPEAKER_06]: You were like, 3 fucking thousand people.
- 18:24[SPEAKER_06]: And then the next week, we tripled that almost.
- 18:28[SPEAKER_06]: So by the fourth episode, we had 25,000 listens on lipson.
- 18:33[SPEAKER_06]: And you were like,
- 18:34[SPEAKER_06]: Jesus Christ, you don't have a fucking powerful this is, and that's when we started seeing the chart, you know, our first chart, I want to say we were number 112, you caught it, and you're like, oh my God, we're on the charts.
- 18:47[SPEAKER_06]: And then I kept going and going and going and going.
- 18:49[SPEAKER_06]: And then by the end of the second month, we were in the top 10.
- 18:52[SPEAKER_05]: Yeah, we were two, and I saved the screenshots.
- 18:54[SPEAKER_05]: We were two behind Rogan, and I, because the screenshot all that's for you.
- 18:57[SPEAKER_05]: I have a number two screenshot.
- 18:59[SPEAKER_05]: Oh, 100% I've got it, I've got it on my phone.
- 19:01[SPEAKER_05]: And so we were behind him for a while, and then just killing it.
- 19:06[SPEAKER_06]: It was Mark Merin, guys we fucked.
- 19:08[SPEAKER_06]: Yep.
- 19:09[SPEAKER_06]: And Rogan, guys we fucked.
- 19:11[SPEAKER_06]: This was all when, there was a period of a year where we just bounced down with those.
- 19:16[SPEAKER_05]: And again, still the same in this day.
- 19:18[SPEAKER_05]: I see the same top, we're in the top,
- 19:21[SPEAKER_05]: I see the same top 40.
- 19:22[SPEAKER_05]: The only thing that's changed the celebrities coming into it, like smartness.
- 19:26[SPEAKER_06]: Well, it'll blow people up because again, if you're pushed to the top of the list if you're converting new users.
- 19:31[SPEAKER_06]: And that was a big advantage to us.
- 19:34[SPEAKER_06]: We were converting new users.
- 19:36[SPEAKER_06]: People that have never used the podcast app or feature in iTunes on their phones started using it.
- 19:40[SPEAKER_06]: And so that really propelled us.
- 19:42[SPEAKER_06]: And I want to say by the third month, you and I were looking, we were averaging 20 to 25,000 actual listens per actual downloads per episode.
- 19:51[SPEAKER_06]: and that is when we first started reaching out to possible sponsors and things like that.
- 19:56[SPEAKER_06]: And then if you remember, at the end of 2017, so two years into this, we had seen 100 million downloads.
- 20:03[SPEAKER_06]: Yep, a community.
- 20:05[SPEAKER_06]: A hundred million downloads.
- 20:06[SPEAKER_06]: So our lips and head reset their system.
- 20:08[SPEAKER_05]: Well, and to this day, I don't know why they reset their system because now Spotify's going back to the old system and it's just like, okay, cool.
- 20:15[SPEAKER_05]: But did you guys know that the movie would help the podcast or the podcast would help the movie?
- 20:21[SPEAKER_02]: I mean, I think it's both, I think there's two things in that whole thing is, you know, I look from the entrepreneurial side, I think something that we've done well is being early adopters of new methods and marketing over the years and like, you guys are genius.
- 20:36[SPEAKER_02]: And you started this before everybody else.
- 20:38[SPEAKER_02]: Well, there's no podcast really back in the day.
- 20:40[SPEAKER_02]: It was, I mean, you know, Rogan and, um,
- 20:42[SPEAKER_05]: was the Adam Corolla or kind of like Adam Corolla and then you know the few that who Mark Mary and and those guys fight her in the kid guys like that but like um with you it was such a wild experience that I thought this could work because we would go to him first.
- 20:57[SPEAKER_05]: I know but you guys were so famous in every single airport we went to and I was just like Jesus Christ this is all from social media.
- 21:04[SPEAKER_02]: Well in the early adopters side too I think something Jared and I did
- 21:07[SPEAKER_02]: incredibly well early on as we wanted to own everything other than that quick paycheck upfront I think traditional institutionalized meat outlets like when we first got approached and started doing YouTube Right all these multi-channel networks.
- 21:18[SPEAKER_02]: I don't know if you remember those so they would be like an aggregate of
- 21:21[SPEAKER_02]: you know, 15, 20 channels, but then there is publishing strict publishing schedules, and you had to work with this creator and work with this, and we are like, Jenna Marbles, you know, if it's authentic, and it makes sense, and the audience, and like, that's almost caveats into that is like, the drinking bro community to this day is so incredible.
- 21:38[SPEAKER_02]: So like, I want to say thank you to the drink bro community, man.
- 21:41[SPEAKER_02]: When we go out to like Montana night company, those great folks over there are open at the Black Refugees.
- 21:45[SPEAKER_01]: And love Josh.
- 21:46[SPEAKER_02]: You see the guys that give you the kind of squinty eyes that walk up to the suck man, like, hey, what's up, going on like drinking bread on my book?
- 21:52[SPEAKER_02]: Yeah, you immediately just hit it off.
- 21:54[SPEAKER_02]: And they're not there for, they're just one of the bros. And honestly, the amount of support over the years through our social media stuff that we've done, Black Refugees, the movie, the music.
- 22:05[SPEAKER_02]: I mean, we've done such a large gambit of things over the years.
- 22:08[SPEAKER_02]: Like drinking bros has been that foundation for us.
- 22:11[SPEAKER_02]: Nothing more than just like thank you guys like it's it's been incredible It's been hell right.
- 22:14[SPEAKER_02]: It's super cool to see you and Dan like what you've built the show into and it's in how mature It's become So yeah, well the other part of you bystander and sit back and go fuck yeah, there's my friends the other part of this though Well you guys wanted to do coffee and I get it like I mean it's I can't it's still like if anybody fucking knows me I like to build things and then I get so bored because I'm
- 22:33[SPEAKER_05]: Freaking crazy brain so I do I do too, but my crazy brain focuses on I love a daily podcast and here's why every day So fucked up.
- 22:45[SPEAKER_05]: Yeah, I don't know what I'm walking into when you said this early on to me It was I want to say Marcus the trail and I mean he told us insane story on the show and everything else Sex it with Marcus actually.
- 22:57[SPEAKER_05]: Oh right now is that you on there on your watch
- 22:59[SPEAKER_05]: Um, but anyways, uh, when we walked out of there, it was just me and you, when we were about to get a dinner somewhere and you go, uh, you go, hey, do you realize how lucky you are to interview people like this on a on a daily basis, and I go, I actually do.
- 23:11[SPEAKER_05]: And, uh, out of everybody who's been on the show and, and every daily show we do can typically pull something out of it for your own life to make yourself a better person, or, or share somebody else's story to the public that maybe he's untold.
- 23:24[SPEAKER_05]: And that's why I loved podcasting and then, uh, because I told you guys, I go, hey,
- 23:29[SPEAKER_05]: I'm going to keep doing this forever man like until the wheels fall off because I genuinely love it now I hate the business calls and the other I hate the business aspect of it, and I see you smiling You did too.
- 23:41[SPEAKER_05]: If we could just be creative and never have to worry about the business aspect of it It's a dichotomy.
- 23:46[SPEAKER_05]: That's that's what eats up all your fucking day This is the best part of my day every day right here and my kids in my wife obviously But yeah, I never took it for granted since you said it that day and it was honestly 2016
- 23:59[SPEAKER_02]: I mean, I still do that.
- 23:59[SPEAKER_02]: I'm sure you do too.
- 24:00[SPEAKER_02]: The rooms that we get in to get in with people and talk with folks that are doing incredible things that were just on the highest rate ever of doing crazy stuff.
- 24:09[SPEAKER_02]: It's so cool to have a platform where people aren't engaged with you, specifically round black rifle coffee, the folks that through apex skill bridge that come through a company that
- 24:17[SPEAKER_02]: like retirees of tier one units that just come in in a traditional role and they are doing this whole life change and now we get a kind of mentor them when they were our mentors when I was a young ranger but now they're out retired and like they want to get into the business side of things so it's it's provided unique opportunities to work with some of the best folks I've ever met in this entire life.
- 24:37[SPEAKER_02]: That's a huge fucking awesome.
- 24:38[SPEAKER_06]: You know, like this last year, the remaining living Sante Raiders, McVee saw guys that rated that did this massive Vietnam rescue.
- 24:49[SPEAKER_06]: You know, they had one of my friends reach out to me and say, hey, hey.
- 24:54[SPEAKER_06]: We would like Black Rifle Coffee to come to the final Santé Raiders reunion that we're going to do.
- 25:00[SPEAKER_06]: And we want you to interview us because you're the only organization we trust to tell the story correctly.
- 25:05[SPEAKER_06]: That reputation could be all we have like all we ever got to.
- 25:11[SPEAKER_06]: And that's awesome that the giants in our history of warfare and the U.S. military are saying we only trust you to tell this story the right way.
- 25:22[SPEAKER_02]: which here I got a cool for a story for you.
- 25:24[SPEAKER_02]: So I'm at the veteran's game with the Dallas Cowboys, love them, or hate them.
- 25:28[SPEAKER_05]: They've been great partners to us and that's the greatest stadium and I've ever been to in my entire life and I say it on the sports show every fucking day.
- 25:37[SPEAKER_05]: Jerry World is the best.
- 25:39[SPEAKER_05]: If you can hold every event, Jerry World.
- 25:41[SPEAKER_02]: Awesome dude I'm all in and everything aside the Jones family has treated us with such grace and they're incredible Great people yes, and they always so we work with beyond the call Which is a nonprofit that brings out you know older veterans and so we've had the ability to bring out a lot of world War 2 Korea Vietnam veterans to the game and so we're on the Dallas Cowboys bus because they gifted us the bus essentially to take these veterans in and One of the guys is like Man, I'm turning fucking a hundred and they're full of piss and vinegar and he's like
- 26:10[SPEAKER_02]: I want to birthday party at the Medal of Honor Museum, and I'm sitting there with my girlfriend Casey and we're like, we're going to figure that out.
- 26:18[SPEAKER_02]: And so this fucking June, we're doing a centennial birthday, so we're hosting seven veterans that are 100 years old all over two veterans at the Medal of Honor Museum, a completely exclusive event.
- 26:29[SPEAKER_02]: We're bringing out pin-up girls, we got all pin-up girl band,
- 26:33[SPEAKER_02]: And so we're gonna have these guys that are like a century fucking old that serve the country greatest generation and ever and we get to like host them and be a part of it.
- 26:41[SPEAKER_02]: I might get so fucking rad like that's amazing and it's cool because that was his like dream which and you know not to be dark but the reality of mortality is these guys could be gone tomorrow and it's a fleeting fleeting generation.
- 26:54[SPEAKER_02]: There's not a lot left and so the fact that they're interesting us to put on a birthday party for them is like the coolest fucking thing ever and I can't
- 27:02[SPEAKER_02]: see that one but it's amazing stuff like that we're like drink and pro is the whole thing the reason we get to do that stuff is because of of the people that have supported us over the years not I truly hope that we're stewards of the generation we're like really showing
- 27:17[SPEAKER_02]: people that we can give back to the community and do some really cool things.
- 27:20[SPEAKER_05]: Well, it all started with your videos.
- 27:22[SPEAKER_05]: Obviously on YouTube, and then you had art 15.
- 27:24[SPEAKER_04]: Make another fucking rap battle.
- 27:26[SPEAKER_05]: Oh, dude, that's, I hear it all the time.
- 27:28[SPEAKER_05]: I said what?
- 27:29[SPEAKER_05]: Hey, I took two or so.
- 27:31[SPEAKER_05]: We're all connected forever and like everybody asks for friends in real life and I'm like, he's going through a fight.
- 27:36[SPEAKER_01]: You know, I was going through a divorce, dad died.
- 27:39[SPEAKER_01]: There was a lot of things.
- 27:40[SPEAKER_01]: You would have a lot of shit with a lot of shit going on.
- 27:42[SPEAKER_05]: I think I took a couple of your things.
- 27:43[SPEAKER_05]: Terracool, for you guys now.
- 27:44[SPEAKER_05]: Yeah.
- 27:44[SPEAKER_05]: Love Derek.
- 27:45[SPEAKER_05]: Um, is everybody who's fishing and money had to leave the NFL show, they were like, man, it's a good fight with him, whatever.
- 27:49[SPEAKER_05]: I go, no man, his mom died.
- 27:51[SPEAKER_05]: Okay.
- 27:52[SPEAKER_05]: Um, he took two months off and, and sorry, like, you know, everybody deals with grief in their own separate way, but let's go back to YouTube, art 15, drinking bros.
- 28:01[SPEAKER_05]: range 15, which turns 10 this year, which is crazy.
- 28:04[SPEAKER_05]: I didn't know until it popped up in my Facebook feed of, like, oh, I remember this and everything else.
- 28:10[SPEAKER_02]: Which is funny because your statement I just did a music video and they're like, oh, this is the location.
- 28:15[SPEAKER_02]: I'm like,
- 28:16[SPEAKER_02]: Oh my god, we shot range 15.
- 28:17[SPEAKER_02]: Sure did.
- 28:18[SPEAKER_02]: 10 years later, because we just saw you some of the video I go, yo, dude.
- 28:22[SPEAKER_05]: Wait, I know much money that I've cost them all the fuck out of the way.
- 28:24[SPEAKER_02]: I'm out here doing a Memorial Day video and last summer's year, Rocco was having sex with the zombie in this gas.
- 28:30[SPEAKER_02]: They sure was.
- 28:31[SPEAKER_02]: drastically different sex from the stuff.
- 28:33[SPEAKER_02]: drastically different.
- 28:34[SPEAKER_02]: It's a media side.
- 28:35[SPEAKER_05]: How much do you guys hear about range 15 out in public?
- 28:38[SPEAKER_05]: a decent amount I get a log it I think I get the most with the book and then and then a lot of folks the range 15 as well okay because the book was after but range 15 it was wild to me because it was the highest grossing independent film of 2016 in all of Hollywood so I mean it all the bullshit that I heard from managers agents everything else then I went out the window.
- 28:59[SPEAKER_05]: Because I think it opened up like number eights in the box office or something like that, and it was crazy One time those showing sort of oh yeah, but I mean that but it went for a it lived in theaters for four and a half months Which no movie does that anymore like were you the same way?
- 29:14[SPEAKER_02]: I didn't watch that movie for like
- 29:16[SPEAKER_05]: six years because the amount of showing I had to sit in the edit so like I can't It's it's hard for me to go back and watch any movie that I've done because I sent the editor for so long But like you hit that publisher out.
- 29:27[SPEAKER_05]: Yes, and I'm sure you are two with your videos Where it's just like you finger fuck it and you're like all right I'm done I do remember though sitting in Vegas with you guys and you guys at demand it to see a rough cut And I was like, oh my god, please don't see a rough cut This is this is the worst thing you'll ever see on any of the most annoying motherfucker on that because I
- 29:45[SPEAKER_05]: all of you and I just we're in my hotel room and I pop it in and I go hey guys
- 29:49[SPEAKER_05]: This is real rough.
- 29:50[SPEAKER_05]: You know now, right?
- 29:51[SPEAKER_05]: What a rough cut is.
- 29:53[SPEAKER_02]: It's not even an edit.
- 29:55[SPEAKER_05]: All of you, there was a 12 of us.
- 29:56[SPEAKER_02]: I've been doing this for over a decade, and I still watch roughs, and I usually want to put my fist through drywall.
- 30:01[SPEAKER_05]: Yes.
- 30:02[SPEAKER_05]: And all of you guys looked at me like, I fucking hate you.
- 30:05[SPEAKER_05]: This is gonna be the worst movie ever.
- 30:06[SPEAKER_05]: No, no, no.
- 30:07[SPEAKER_05]: Just let me finish the goddamn thing.
- 30:09[SPEAKER_05]: Like we're on step one of like 90's right now.
- 30:12[SPEAKER_05]: And then, you know, it comes out.
- 30:14[SPEAKER_05]: I think it turned out great.
- 30:16[SPEAKER_05]: Like everything that you wrote, I mean you only gripe you could have as you wish you had more money or or or time machine Yeah, a time machine to go back and get like a corridor digital to shoot some of those action scenes.
- 30:27[SPEAKER_02]: We're like yeah That just didn't exist back then and like it does now But it didn't back I know you don't have the time to shoot the macro shots You're out there trying to do a fight sequence and you got an hour to do it with rehearsal and so you're shooting on the wide And it needs me four days
- 30:44[SPEAKER_05]: like I know now but also the companies that you guys work with because the thing I love about your commercials and everybody else loves and and I just got this feedback from script sports because we sold the I sold the national arena lead to them and black rifle coffee commercials are throughout it you turned in six I think
- 31:03[SPEAKER_05]: The quality of your commercials because you guys do it on your own is still next level as opposed to any other fucking company, right?
- 31:13[SPEAKER_05]: And everybody's trying to crack the code, no one's like, guys, it's not that hard.
- 31:16[SPEAKER_05]: They're just authentic people, and that's what everybody relates to.
- 31:19[SPEAKER_05]: It's like a mom and a dad drinking coffee in the fucking kitchen.
- 31:22[SPEAKER_05]: And it's like, oh man, it's the best part of waking up.
- 31:25[SPEAKER_05]: No, it's not.
- 31:27[SPEAKER_05]: Like, here's the best part of waking up.
- 31:29[SPEAKER_05]: Fucking blowing shit up and fucking cars, and things like, yeah, fuck you, and it's awesome, right?
- 31:36[SPEAKER_05]: But that tack, that tack didn't exist in 2015, which it does now, and your quality of shoots is going through the fucking roof, because of all the cool shit you get to do now.
- 31:46[SPEAKER_02]: Yeah, and you learn a lot of lessons, I mean,
- 31:48[SPEAKER_02]: the cool thing of black rifle we had I've had a lot of on the site job training over the years to figure things out and that's been a huge learning curve of
- 31:57[SPEAKER_02]: you know, you have x amount of dollars just been in a production, where do you allocate the funds to get the press project and you know, historically when you come from the film industry, as you know, they, they'll spend money on their $20,000 to make sure that the light in the background's perfect.
- 32:13[SPEAKER_02]: And I'm like, I don't give a fuck.
- 32:15[SPEAKER_02]: Like what I care about, are you communicating the joke or emotion directly to the audience?
- 32:19[SPEAKER_02]: They don't care about.

- 41:33[SPEAKER_05]: And I've told the story before, but I'll tell it again to you guys.
- 41:35[SPEAKER_05]: When you're in your 30s, it isn't possible to meet new best friends as dudes.
- 41:40[SPEAKER_05]: Typically your friends are all for that point.
- 41:42[SPEAKER_05]: No, and I don't have many more friends than you get that's for sure Right, and I don't have many friends since like I might circles pretty fucking small and usually they want something out of you for X Y and Z and all that other shit, right?
- 41:54[SPEAKER_05]: So
- 41:55[SPEAKER_05]: When that movie came along, it was great, it was a fucking blast, and then it coincided with the explosion of the podcast because Trump got elected.
- 42:05[SPEAKER_05]: So we had range of 10 that came out, 2016 and June.
- 42:09[SPEAKER_05]: Trump gets elected in November.
- 42:11[SPEAKER_05]: We had the episode 100 with the live sex, and then the Trump predictions show right afterwards.
- 42:17[SPEAKER_05]: and everything exploded and yeah and then and then black rifle coffee starts to take off really really fucking taking off here and you're looking at it and you're like all right well shit we've only been doing this together for two or three years a lot of shit coming out of here and then your book and the book is one of the world's number one in the world we did the special before his book came out yeah so we did the Amazon special like life
- 42:43[SPEAKER_06]: Yeah, the drink of rose life drink of rose life.
- 42:46[SPEAKER_06]: Yeah, yeah, I mean, it was so that was 2017 2017 we were all right into his way to be just bought that right now So that'll be up in a couple months.
- 42:54[SPEAKER_05]: I'm not kidding really guys I sent a seven picture deal with them.
- 42:57[SPEAKER_05]: That was part of it.
- 42:58[SPEAKER_05]: I don't know why they wanted that one, but
- 43:01[SPEAKER_05]: He the guy said, hey, the way you're able to get talent and then they blow up like later I was just like, well, that was all an accident, which usually it is, you know, you think there's talents and people out there and all that other shits, but then then your book explodes.
- 43:15[SPEAKER_05]: Book is number one in the world, Knox Michelle Obama off the fucking
- 43:19[SPEAKER_02]: No, she still, she still beat me.
- 43:20[SPEAKER_02]: Well, we're, we're, we're number one national bestsellers.
- 43:23[SPEAKER_02]: That's what put in the book.
- 43:24[SPEAKER_02]: Okay.
- 43:25[SPEAKER_02]: Well, shit.
- 43:25[SPEAKER_02]: New York Times.
- 43:26[SPEAKER_02]: We saw the numbers politicized.
- 43:28[SPEAKER_02]: Well, it's a curated, no.
- 43:29[SPEAKER_02]: I, I mean, I'll say that openly.
- 43:30[SPEAKER_02]: I remember we looked at the numbers Michelle Obama sitting in the number one spot.
- 43:34[SPEAKER_02]: And obviously there's like week over week and all of that, but we did like 56,000 sales first week.
- 43:39[SPEAKER_02]: She did eight that week.
- 43:40[SPEAKER_02]: So it wasn't like a clip.
- 43:42[SPEAKER_02]: I mean, we beat her like eight extra numbers whatever it was.
- 43:46[SPEAKER_02]: And that's where am I A bottle there if you go to the book now.
- 43:49[SPEAKER_02]: It's it's the number one national best seller because I think we landed four or five on New York today number one while she Journal number one everyone every one everywhere and everyone that was like we based off of numbers numbers in data.
- 44:01[SPEAKER_05]: Yeah, except for New York Times.
- 44:02[SPEAKER_05]: Then we're like
- 44:03[SPEAKER_05]: Well, they fucking hate my type, so whatever.
- 44:05[SPEAKER_05]: Yes, it's all fake.
- 44:06[SPEAKER_05]: Don't care, it's all fake.
- 44:07[SPEAKER_05]: So, but I'll go back to that because it's all this story too.
- 44:11[SPEAKER_05]: We sold the book for a lot of money and then obviously we go to the meeting and it's the day that Trump won and we're in New York City and they made us walk through the back door of the agency and go all the way around.
- 44:23[SPEAKER_05]: I was very, very pissed off about that and I knew, yeah, I know that Bill O'Reilly and those guys and I go, you make Bill do the same thing and they were like, Bill
- 44:34[SPEAKER_05]: Yeah, okay.
- 44:35[SPEAKER_02]: They were doing the therapy sessions on PowerPoint.
- 44:38[SPEAKER_02]: I remember that.
- 44:38[SPEAKER_02]: I don't know if you need to take the that half of the office to take in the day off because emotional distress.
- 44:45[SPEAKER_05]: It was they were in mourning.
- 44:46[SPEAKER_05]: It was like a fucking dude.
- 44:48[SPEAKER_02]: I remember just I'm like this this is why I this is why I do my own shit.
- 44:51[SPEAKER_02]: I know the weird world.
- 44:52[SPEAKER_06]: You just need the bosses.
- 44:53[SPEAKER_06]: Yeah, come in.
- 44:54[SPEAKER_06]: You all need to stop me and so it's bitches.
- 44:56[SPEAKER_05]: Yeah.
- 44:56[SPEAKER_05]: All right, that's what it was.
- 44:57[SPEAKER_05]: But him and I walked around New York City together and during that whole time period because it was protest.
- 45:02[SPEAKER_05]: That's gross test everywhere.
- 45:03[SPEAKER_05]: Yeah, we're walking all the other shit.
- 45:04[SPEAKER_05]: I've got a picture of you with your black rifle hoodie on.
- 45:07[SPEAKER_05]: Oh, yeah, I remember that.
- 45:08[SPEAKER_05]: Yeah, and it was fucking hilarious.
- 45:10[SPEAKER_05]: And then the wildest thing was, because I said, hey, whatever your dream is, like, I'll do it and you go, I've always wanted to go to a UFC fight.
- 45:18[SPEAKER_05]: And that weekend in New York City was McGregor.
- 45:20[SPEAKER_05]: Yeah, we went to see a McGregor.
- 45:22[SPEAKER_05]: The champ champ versus the champ champ.
- 45:26[SPEAKER_02]: No, I was like, oh no, it wasn't Jose Aldo.
- 45:29[SPEAKER_02]: He fought for the chant that the second belt with what's his name the bolt.
- 45:32[SPEAKER_02]: Yeah, it was like round three, but yeah, he beat the shit out of him.
- 45:35[SPEAKER_02]: Yes, I forget his name.
- 45:37[SPEAKER_02]: That's terrible.
- 45:38[SPEAKER_02]: I don't know.
- 45:40[SPEAKER_02]: I remember I wasn't there.
- 45:40[SPEAKER_05]: It was Bob here.
- 45:42[SPEAKER_05]: Can you fact check that?
- 45:43[SPEAKER_05]: It wasn't Jose Aldo.
- 45:44[SPEAKER_02]: He won the, I think he's right.
- 45:50[SPEAKER_02]: whatever his name is yeah time square that we're we're there that was one one yeah and it was it was fucking awesome we leave there and then go back and then it takes 18 months of the DOD meet two movement and happens all the way we talked about that the three-liter agency were they did that thing in like three months and then the other DOD took 18 months until I filed CIA was 30 days who's if it was like 30 or 45 it was very quick and then and then
- 46:19[SPEAKER_02]: I think no one wanted to sign off on it because they never got a military book like that which is inherently funny because there were no like
- 46:36[SPEAKER_02]: TTPs, SOPs, I didn't talk about any of that stuff.
- 46:40[SPEAKER_00]: Right.
- 46:40[SPEAKER_02]: The book, so it was more just the tonality of the book, where it's like other people are out there talking about mission sets, like specific equipment.
- 46:47[SPEAKER_02]: And I, I dodged all of that.
- 46:49[SPEAKER_02]: I was like, there was some night vision dude.
- 46:51[SPEAKER_02]: There was no freaking, yeah.
- 46:54[SPEAKER_02]: Yeah.
- 46:54[SPEAKER_02]: How was it?
- 46:55[SPEAKER_05]: You have seen it, you know?
- 46:56[SPEAKER_02]: Alvarez.
- 46:57[SPEAKER_02]: Alvarez.
- 46:58[SPEAKER_02]: Eddie Alvarez.
- 46:59[SPEAKER_05]: Eddie Alvarez.
- 46:59[SPEAKER_05]: And that was the, was that the quick knockout?
- 47:01[SPEAKER_05]: Well, I mean, it's, I don't know.
- 47:02[SPEAKER_02]: No, he knocked out Jose Aldo and like not.
- 47:05[SPEAKER_02]: Yeah, he was like round three, T.K.O.
- 47:07[SPEAKER_02]: Right?
- 47:09[SPEAKER_05]: Yeah.
- 47:10[SPEAKER_05]: And Madison Square Garden?
- 47:11[SPEAKER_05]: Yep.
- 47:12[SPEAKER_05]: Is it?
- 47:12[SPEAKER_05]: Um, but it was a fucking blast.
- 47:14[SPEAKER_05]: We, you know, rock the shit out of that.
- 47:17[SPEAKER_05]: It came back to the book and everything else.
- 47:19[SPEAKER_05]: Black rifle starts to take off.
- 47:21[SPEAKER_05]: And then I believe there was a call that just said, Hey guys, uh, went and investor was, uh, not stoked to the podcast.
- 47:28[SPEAKER_05]: Um, and then we did the pussy whistle song together.
- 47:31[SPEAKER_05]: Uh, oh, that was some other folks.
- 47:34[SPEAKER_01]: Yeah, I think.
- 47:36[SPEAKER_02]: In retrospect, with some of the content, we've done it's funny that everyone, it's an early adoption thing, and I think that's how you know you're doing the right thing where people are like, oh, oh, could you?
- 47:45[SPEAKER_02]: Because it's new and edgy, and then fast forward to years, the same people that were critical or like, that's my favorite shit.
- 47:50[SPEAKER_02]: Like, there is a very significant figure that had massive apprehensions about your pussy will make me whistle.
- 47:55[SPEAKER_02]: I know, that was in the car.
- 47:57[SPEAKER_02]: I'm not going to say anything.
- 47:59[SPEAKER_02]: I won't even.
- 47:59[SPEAKER_02]: It has great, great human, but fast forward to
- 48:05[SPEAKER_02]: and it's one of his favorite songs all the time.
- 48:08[SPEAKER_02]: Every time I see him, he's like, oh, man.
- 48:10[SPEAKER_02]: And I just, I'm like, you know, maybe it takes time.
- 48:13[SPEAKER_02]: That's fun.
- 48:13[SPEAKER_05]: OK, I was always curious about that because when things are doing well, and with content the way it is, and it's headed back to more aggressive shit, I was wondering if they look back and regret it.
- 48:24[SPEAKER_06]: I think we're just going to be to backlash.
- 48:25[SPEAKER_06]: And then when they see the masses actually like it and enjoy it or whatever, I mean, we were always that though, like we've always ran into that.
- 48:35[SPEAKER_06]: There is a large portion of the corporate side of this country that doesn't believe that
- 48:43[SPEAKER_06]: And it's like, dude, that's not real.
- 48:45[SPEAKER_05]: Like, it's not real.
- 48:46[SPEAKER_05]: And every book that's the best cello now has the word fucking it with a star and they're like, you know, on fuck my life.
- 48:52[SPEAKER_02]: Yeah, how to, how to fuck up your work where you're whatever.
- 48:55[SPEAKER_02]: Yeah.
- 48:55[SPEAKER_02]: And it's like the easy quick fix.
- 48:57[SPEAKER_02]: It's just like diets, it's whatever.
- 48:58[SPEAKER_05]: I mean, yeah.
- 48:59[SPEAKER_05]: uh... but also i loved your original title for that book was uh... killing bad guys is fun with the stick figures and of the blood the crayon and i got a heart no and that one got it was good though and it it by the way it would have done just as well it's fine i mean i think that was jordan i actually came up with that in uh... sand tony or poor is that true ever sitting there in talk is having a margarita and i was like man
- 49:22[SPEAKER_02]: I want to do something where it's like, I'm thinking people for, you know, taxpayer money that puts you on a helicopter and lets you like propel out of it with night vision and shoot someone in the face and then teed Jared up and Jared's like, what about thank you for my services like out?
- 49:35[SPEAKER_02]: That's the book title, there you go.
- 49:36[SPEAKER_02]: Yeah, call the publisher.
- 49:38[SPEAKER_02]: And now I want it.
- 49:38[SPEAKER_02]: It's like diatribe to the publisher for like fucking, I don't know, 15 minutes and they're like, we love it.
- 49:43[SPEAKER_02]: We love it.
- 49:44[SPEAKER_02]: Yeah.
- 49:44[SPEAKER_02]: But I didn't let him talk.
- 49:45[SPEAKER_02]: I was like, this is the reason why, like, I've mansplained it for sure.
- 49:49[SPEAKER_05]: But yeah, even somebody was fixing something to my house through the day, it was like, man, do you have a design copy of that?
- 49:55[SPEAKER_05]: Like, that book is lived on forever, man.
- 49:58[SPEAKER_02]: And yeah, I'm pretty proud about that project.
- 50:00[SPEAKER_02]: And obviously, thank you for it.
- 50:01[SPEAKER_02]: I mean, I don't think people know on that side the tremendous amount of work that goes into something like that.
- 50:06[SPEAKER_02]: I think I did personally like,
- 50:08[SPEAKER_02]: 12 rewrites.
- 50:09[SPEAKER_02]: I know, but it's hard to do.
- 50:11[SPEAKER_02]: No, it's great.
- 50:12[SPEAKER_02]: Heels is great.
- 50:13[SPEAKER_02]: Heels Parker.
- 50:13[SPEAKER_02]: Absolutely legendary guy.
- 50:15[SPEAKER_02]: You're your the first drafts that you wrote and your comedy take on things.
- 50:20[SPEAKER_02]: I mean, some of the hardest sitting jokes were.
- 50:22[SPEAKER_02]: I mean, I give you credit is like the Michael J.
- 50:24[SPEAKER_02]: Fox sold.
- 50:25[SPEAKER_02]: They're like, Matt, you're so funny.
- 50:26[SPEAKER_02]: I'm like, Ross wrote that line.
- 50:27[SPEAKER_02]: Right.
- 50:27[SPEAKER_02]: Right.
- 50:27[SPEAKER_02]: It fucking hilarious.
- 50:29[SPEAKER_02]: Yeah, but it was true.
- 50:30[SPEAKER_02]: But you're taking like the emotional metaphor, I felt there.
- 50:33[SPEAKER_02]: I'm like, I was so cold.
- 50:34[SPEAKER_05]: And yeah, but it's always a team effort.
- 50:36[SPEAKER_05]: And like, you know, everybody kind of bitches about it.
- 50:38[SPEAKER_05]: But I'm like, man, every movie that I've worked on.
- 50:41[SPEAKER_05]: And because people don't know that I also rewrote like 80 big budget movies and including like the last like 4 John Cena movies on total accident by the way.
- 50:48[SPEAKER_05]: I didn't know he wasn't cast in that so like it just ended up we're hearing someone that was going to take it yeah and then some of them took like 15 years to to make.
- 50:56[SPEAKER_05]: Yeah.
- 50:56[SPEAKER_05]: When Bob comes back in there was his he was just watching something called Ricky's Tanikki.
- 51:01[SPEAKER_05]: Yeah, I love it.
- 51:02[SPEAKER_05]: I love it.
- 51:03[SPEAKER_05]: I did the rereads in 2011.
- 51:05[SPEAKER_05]: And I was like, that movie was great.
- 51:06[SPEAKER_05]: What the fuck?
- 51:07[SPEAKER_05]: I didn't even know it came out.
- 51:08[SPEAKER_05]: I mean, you write it and then you never see it again.
- 51:10[SPEAKER_06]: With your probably called something different, too.
- 51:13[SPEAKER_05]: No, it was called Ricky Stingon.
- 51:14[SPEAKER_05]: It was, because we looked it up and I sent the email to Bob and I go, hey, dude, here's my draft.
- 51:20[SPEAKER_05]: So like, I don't remember writing this shit, but you go through it and with the success of that, everybody's like, man, you guys can't fucking miss.
- 51:28[SPEAKER_05]: This is incredible.
- 51:29[SPEAKER_05]: And then that's kind of where the split started to happen, where you three,
- 51:33[SPEAKER_05]: You in Evan wanted it to expand black rifle coffee, which was awesome.
- 51:39[SPEAKER_05]: Say great to go with God, and then there's calls to come in from some of the people who were not necessarily answer their content.
- 51:44[SPEAKER_05]: Rocco always wanted to be a movie star.
- 51:47[SPEAKER_05]: Yeah.
- 51:47[SPEAKER_05]: And so we ended up getting them the audition for my answer.
- 51:54[SPEAKER_05]: My answer.
- 51:54[SPEAKER_05]: My answer.
- 51:55[SPEAKER_05]: Boom.
- 51:55[SPEAKER_05]: Get's my answer.
- 51:56[SPEAKER_05]: Like, I mean, I don't know, you guys probably weren't there for that show, but it was me and him and he just went out a live on air and he just goes, look.
- 52:03[SPEAKER_05]: Anybody's out there's got any connection to this and Steve Howie was listening to this show Steve was like I know the fucking casting director he goes so I call Steve and I go hey I go Steve Look just give him an audition I know you can't get him the part or whatever and he goes he knows that right and I go yeah I think so I talk to Rocco and I go look man you've got the audition Now go and kill it.
- 52:23[SPEAKER_05]: That's all you need so yeah, and then he ends up getting that so he leaves Dan comes in and then black rifle you guys
- 52:31[SPEAKER_06]: First off, I pulled Dan in kicking and screaming.
- 52:35[SPEAKER_06]: You remember how much he threw the show?
- 52:37[SPEAKER_05]: Yeah, he hated this.
- 52:38[SPEAKER_05]: Well, he doesn't like public life.
- 52:39[SPEAKER_06]: Big dim, big dim, come do the show with me, come do the show with me, come do the show with me and then he did that one.
- 52:44[SPEAKER_06]: He doesn't like public life.
- 52:45[SPEAKER_06]: And it was, we were crying, because you heard the stories that me, the shit that me and Dan used to do just a fuck with people.
- 52:52[SPEAKER_04]: Totally.
- 52:53[SPEAKER_06]: And then he realized how much he knew about sports, so you got him to talk about sports and now Dan is like, okay, I'll do the sports and then it was.
- 53:02[SPEAKER_05]: And then it kept growing and growing and then that's when I said all right, I want to expand the media company and do this and I'm going to do podcast every day Because I love it and like even you know, we're moving back like it doesn't end I'll put back on the early Monday And it will not end and I could
- 53:18[SPEAKER_05]: Truthfully, man, probably you go in another 15 years to be honest with you.
- 53:21[SPEAKER_05]: Like, yeah, you're really good at what you did.
- 53:22[SPEAKER_05]: Well, but I also enjoy it every day.
- 53:24[SPEAKER_05]: So, like, I love you.
- 53:24[SPEAKER_06]: Well, now that you've got the studio and Wilmington, you guys won't leave.
- 53:28[SPEAKER_06]: Like, it'll be perfect.
- 53:29[SPEAKER_06]: Correct.
- 53:29[SPEAKER_06]: You have a great, beautiful studio.
- 53:31[SPEAKER_05]: It'll be awesome.
- 53:32[SPEAKER_05]: Wife and kids are happy.
- 53:33[SPEAKER_05]: They got their old friends back and all that other stuff.
- 53:36[SPEAKER_05]: Now, with Black rifle coffee, you guys then decided to go public.
- 53:42[SPEAKER_05]: and go in the New York Stock Exchange.
- 53:45[SPEAKER_05]: Looking back on that, because we did the show with you guys and all that other stuff, and it was incredible.
- 53:50[SPEAKER_05]: I don't think anybody understands how impossible it is.
- 53:53[SPEAKER_05]: Not only to clear the SEC, because we did do with Hordi F. Seltzer, us was six months.
- 53:57[SPEAKER_05]: I don't know what your process was, but it's an cost of shit ton of money.
- 54:01[SPEAKER_05]: It cost us $50,000 to go through that audit with the SEC to get a valuation and all that other shits.
- 54:08[SPEAKER_05]: Going public,
- 54:09[SPEAKER_05]: Was that looking back on it?
- 54:12[SPEAKER_05]: Are you ants about it?
- 54:13[SPEAKER_05]: Are you not ants about it?
- 54:15[SPEAKER_05]: Or do you wish you never would have sold the company and just kept it private?
- 54:18[SPEAKER_02]: What's that sell of the company?
- 54:19[SPEAKER_02]: It's taking a public.
- 54:20[SPEAKER_02]: But I mean, I think grass is greener on the other side, right?
- 54:24[SPEAKER_02]: There's positive negatives to every decision you make in business and the public market is one of those, right?
- 54:30[SPEAKER_02]: is especially because the market analysts and the way that they structure their the worth or multiples of what you do could be gross revenue EBITDA in the next day so it's it's really just what the market wants to do and you know when we went public we were essentially direct consumer brand based off of like a multiplier of gross revenue D to C brand's kind of died and that was grocery so it's like it's kind of just figuring it out we're a young company to when we did it yeah
- 54:56[SPEAKER_02]: with not a lot of foundation but you know you live and learn and I think we're the companies that today we're hyper hyper confident with where we're going and what we need to do and yeah it's it feels now that we have really really really good momentum I mean Jared Evan and I are side by side founder led you know really back in the weeds and I think
- 55:14[SPEAKER_02]: You're seeing that with the revenue, the recordings, the revenues, the profitability, the content, the commercial, you just see the authentic touch in there.
- 55:24[SPEAKER_05]: But there is people who bitch about the stock price.
- 55:27[SPEAKER_05]: But here's what I always tell people.
- 55:28[SPEAKER_05]: Any investment is a risk.
- 55:30[SPEAKER_05]: And also, you don't know what's going to happen and the other factors behind it.
- 55:34[SPEAKER_05]: I don't think people realize that you guys were doing a ton of brick and motors.
- 55:38[SPEAKER_05]: That cost a shit ton of money.
- 55:39[SPEAKER_05]: All this stuff costs a lot of money.
- 55:41[SPEAKER_05]: I'm going through with the heart of self-sale.
- 55:43[SPEAKER_05]: And it's tough, man, finding investors and all that is other shit is really goddamn hard.
- 55:48[SPEAKER_05]: And it consumes your entire life in your days and your stress and all that of the shit.
- 55:53[SPEAKER_05]: But right now, with where the stock is, do you guys hope to, that it lives on the New York Stock Exchange goes private?
- 56:03[SPEAKER_02]: I mean, that's not my decision to make, right?
- 56:05[SPEAKER_02]: I don't sit on the boot.
- 56:06[SPEAKER_02]: Who makes those decisions?
- 56:07[SPEAKER_02]: I mean, the board of directors is essentially who's running the company.
- 56:10[SPEAKER_05]: How many are there?
- 56:11[SPEAKER_02]: Oh, I see, you know, it's top of your head.
- 56:13[SPEAKER_02]: I think someone's having a look at up its public.
- 56:15[SPEAKER_02]: I don't want to misrepresent it.
- 56:16[SPEAKER_02]: Is it a 9?
- 56:17[SPEAKER_02]: Yeah, it's got some around there.
- 56:19[SPEAKER_02]: So ultimately, the decision lies there.
- 56:21[SPEAKER_02]: But I mean, again, like in my perspective as a founder and a guy that leads the brand, it's health of the company and high bring value to shareholders.
- 56:29[SPEAKER_02]: And that's my objective every single day.
- 56:31[SPEAKER_02]: And so that's what I go to work every single morning is how do I bring value to the company?
- 56:37[SPEAKER_02]: Do you read the comments?
- 56:39[SPEAKER_02]: I don't and which is why I can't I mean I again like I don't read mine because I want to wake up every day and start fresh I'm not smart enough on the public market side to understand how things go up and down so much and I think you have to hit a point of just like where we're at today and then
- 56:55[SPEAKER_02]: You know, they report their quarterly earnings and we we try to meet our numbers and that's what we do.
- 57:00[SPEAKER_06]: What you're about to see too though is like Evans doing whatever green beret does best is.
- 57:06[SPEAKER_06]: We've got thrown into this public market thing and it took him a little while to get his feet.
- 57:12[SPEAKER_06]: under it and truly understand it.
- 57:14[SPEAKER_06]: Right.
- 57:15[SPEAKER_06]: He rev- not only does he understand it now, now he knows how to make it work for him.
- 57:19[SPEAKER_06]: The things that he's done in the last year are going to drastically change everything for the future of the business.
- 57:24[SPEAKER_06]: Like so, so like hats off to Evan because this fucker
- 57:29[SPEAKER_06]: They not only figured it out, he became a fucking scientist on it that started strategizing beyond even the purview of his mentors.
- 57:38[SPEAKER_06]: To the point where over the last like three months, the people that were teaching us this are looking at him going, oh fuck.
- 57:45[SPEAKER_06]: I never thought of that.
- 57:47[SPEAKER_06]: Where did you come up with that?
- 57:48[SPEAKER_06]: So it's like, it's experience.
- 57:49[SPEAKER_06]: Yes, and that's what I'm saying.
- 57:51[SPEAKER_02]: No one is saying.
- 57:52[SPEAKER_02]: It cares like, I know.
- 57:53[SPEAKER_02]: I know.
- 57:53[SPEAKER_02]: Perspective and Evan loves to live in misery.
- 57:56[SPEAKER_02]: And so he just buries himself and just try.
- 57:58[SPEAKER_02]: And I mean, that as a compliment, right?
- 58:01[SPEAKER_02]: He'll do whatever is necessary to make sure things are successful.
- 58:06[SPEAKER_02]: And obviously, we're doing the same thing.
- 58:07[SPEAKER_02]: I'm just on kind of a different section of the business.
- 58:09[SPEAKER_02]: I'm not in the AOP every single day running it off the P&L.
- 58:13[SPEAKER_02]: That's something that him and the CFO do.
- 58:15[SPEAKER_02]: Yeah, he's, he's done a hell of a job.
- 58:18[SPEAKER_02]: He's cracked some code.
- 58:18[SPEAKER_02]: He doesn't get enough credit for what he's got.
- 58:20[SPEAKER_05]: Let's go now.
- 58:21[SPEAKER_05]: Yeah.
- 58:22[SPEAKER_05]: And the other thing too is like, when I go out in public, and people stop me, it'll be for drinking bros and range 15 and black rifle, right?
- 58:32[SPEAKER_05]: Like black rifle's always tied to that.
- 58:34[SPEAKER_06]: I don't know when you were one of the first one of the O.G.
- 58:38[SPEAKER_05]: paid paid employee $100.
- 58:41[SPEAKER_05]: And I always say, because people were like, oh, hey, and I'm like, look, man, everybody was great.
- 58:45[SPEAKER_05]: I got paid fairly.
- 58:46[SPEAKER_05]: This is awesome.
- 58:47[SPEAKER_05]: So I'm all good with this.
- 58:49[SPEAKER_05]: But also, I haven't met one fucking person in the United States.
- 58:52[SPEAKER_05]: Who doesn't know what black rifle coffee is.
- 58:53[SPEAKER_05]: I mean, for real, like everywhere I go, everybody knows black rifle coffee.
- 58:59[SPEAKER_05]: And the brand that you guys have created is so tremendous that it's just, whatever happens with it in the future because we can't predict anything in this fucking life.
- 59:07[SPEAKER_05]: It's been life changing for so many fucking people and it's equal.
- 59:11[SPEAKER_05]: I think it's easy to lose sight of it based on a stock price or a thing or whatever and it's just like, hey, man, let's not forget how much good you guys do for the fucking world on a daily basis
- 59:23[SPEAKER_05]: Um, because it's more than just a coffee, it's also a community and like everybody feels like there are part of something bigger because of black rifle coffee the same as they do with drinking bros. Well, we have an incredible team.
- 59:35[SPEAKER_02]: I mean, even on like our philanthropic side, I would I'd venture to say we publicly probably tell people about 10% of the things we do philanthropically, um,
- 59:45[SPEAKER_02]: You know, my director, flinch, flinch pdeen, and the other guys in gals, they, they work their asses off every day on the grass roots side of the things, and there's like instances where someone passes funeral costs are paid for the next debut of Black Cross.
- 59:58[SPEAKER_02]: It's, that's the shit that keeps you going because, you know, you don't need a certainly to rip your arm off pat yourself in the back and brag about it, but it's fucking cool to see it because you're like, okay, we're making a tangible difference to people rather than, you know, there are a lot of nonprofits out there that are just kind of like,
- 1:00:12[SPEAKER_02]: Look at me.
- 1:00:13[SPEAKER_02]: I'm so awesome.
- 1:00:13[SPEAKER_02]: They got a hundred million dollars in their P&L and they're just like what are you doing with money guys?
- 1:00:17[SPEAKER_02]: Like yep, but you don't go in and then like salaries don't know much rotties over here Yeah, that shit doesn't just mean I won't go on my tire here on that, but it it's I want to be the counterculture to that stuff Of where money comes in money goes out to vetted people that make actual changes for the quality of life of veterans first spawners We're a fucking need to it, right?
- 1:00:36[SPEAKER_02]: But primarily that's what we do a black rifle.
- 1:00:38[SPEAKER_02]: So
- 1:00:39[SPEAKER_05]: And again, building a brand, this massive that everybody sounds a fucking corporate when I just said that.
- 1:00:45[SPEAKER_02]: Well, you've been in those meetings.
- 1:00:46[SPEAKER_05]: I feel like there's a lot of students in that room.
- 1:00:50[SPEAKER_05]: You've been in those meetings.
- 1:00:51[SPEAKER_05]: Well, that's the overarching objective.
- 1:00:53[SPEAKER_06]: So you feel like you need a TPS report coverage right now.
- 1:00:57[SPEAKER_02]: Dude, if I have to authenticate Microsoft when we're fucking time, I'm going to throw my laptop in the fucking agent.
- 1:01:02[SPEAKER_05]: I got hacked last night, man.
- 1:01:04[SPEAKER_05]: So like, yeah, it's the worst.
- 1:01:06[SPEAKER_05]: And yeah.
- 1:01:07[SPEAKER_05]: I try to switch it, so it's like, I leave it as soon as the show starts, I leave the corporate shit behind, where it's just like, very cool.
- 1:01:15[SPEAKER_05]: Don't talk to me about the PNL, I don't want to fucking hear the company tripled last year, are you going to invest or not?
- 1:01:22[SPEAKER_05]: And it's like, wow, you know, they've only 1.2 and revenue this year.
- 1:01:26[SPEAKER_05]: still have a small company I was like in what world is 1.2 million small to you like what the fuck and we tripled last year and you still have trouble getting meetings i'm interested to see on the ai side because that's like what everyone's going after right now i feel like it's going to be the dot com bubble is it is exactly what's going to have billions of dollars or i mean that already kind of happened with sora they did they're gone realized are gone oh shit we didn't know how to monetize this and now we have to close
- 1:01:52[SPEAKER_05]: I just talked to Richard Ryan the other day.
- 1:01:55[SPEAKER_05]: He screenshot of me from the airport because he's, you know, involved in AI, a company right now and he saw the hard AF results are a wrap truck and the thing and he goes.
- 1:02:04[SPEAKER_05]: Are you meeting with another investor now and go, yep, find a cross-country for it as we speak.
- 1:02:08[SPEAKER_05]: And I go, how's your luck going or whatever?
- 1:02:10[SPEAKER_05]: And it goes, you know, on paper, it says $1.5 billion.
- 1:02:15[SPEAKER_05]: None of that is real, none of that is liquid, none of that is, you can take out, and it's like, same with Hardy F, I don't have a fucking salary, anything else we're going to make in more cans, and that's all that it is.
- 1:02:24[SPEAKER_05]: And then when you tell people, I don't need money for marketing.
- 1:02:27[SPEAKER_05]: You know, it's like at the podcast and everything else.
- 1:02:29[SPEAKER_05]: They're like, well, I don't understand.
- 1:02:30[SPEAKER_05]: You know, and it's just like, well, I need more cans and more boots on the ground.
- 1:02:33[SPEAKER_05]: Yeah, yeah, I need normal shit.
- 1:02:35[SPEAKER_06]: I don't need the demand as higher than the supply.
- 1:02:37[SPEAKER_06]: Right.
- 1:02:38[SPEAKER_06]: And that's something that people would never get.
- 1:02:40[SPEAKER_05]: And you can never think that your average business is hard to because it's like, you will, but also you can never think that you're so successful that it could drive you out of business potentially, which is also what almost happened you guys.
- 1:02:52[SPEAKER_02]: I don't care about that story on your guy's side to imagine like you know when you're you're doing Cross the goods against cans then you need line time then you need ingredient list and all these things that happen on the back end to support the supply chain To include like the distribution mechanism like if you get shelf space and you sell out a product and can't like revamp product You lose your slot.
- 1:03:14[SPEAKER_02]: You'll get filled the next day if I monster and there goes your business so on the top line
- 1:03:21[SPEAKER_02]: the demand was so high that it actually puts you out of business.
- 1:03:24[SPEAKER_02]: And that's where like, especially in alcohol, I mean, the lead slinger thing I never want to touch alcohol again.
- 1:03:29[SPEAKER_05]: It's a very tough, tough, hard liquor is a different story.
- 1:03:33[SPEAKER_02]: Yeah, beer and wine are a little more free spirit.
- 1:03:35[SPEAKER_05]: Yes, liquor is a fucking racket man.
- 1:03:38[SPEAKER_05]: And like a lot of these celebrities who do these liquor, hard liquor companies are mostly out now because you walk into a liquor store.
- 1:03:44[SPEAKER_05]: We're going to take you on Carolina.
- 1:03:45[SPEAKER_05]: Well, it's Carolina, it's controlled by the government, so it's the state owned.
- 1:03:48[SPEAKER_05]: Yeah, it's state owned.
- 1:03:49[SPEAKER_05]: There's like five liquor stores.
- 1:03:51[SPEAKER_05]: You walk in there and there.
- 1:03:52[SPEAKER_02]: Are they really?
- 1:03:53[SPEAKER_02]: Yeah, they're like Utah.
- 1:03:54[SPEAKER_05]: Oh, totally.
- 1:03:55[SPEAKER_05]: And so when you go in there and they're closing Sunday.
- 1:03:57[SPEAKER_05]: the bible belt and so you walk in there let's say you go to the whiskey section cool man there's 200 bottles of brown liquid which one stands out and why and they don't give a fuck like it's a stay-to-one liquor store it's as cold as possible yeah they don't care it's like a fucking doctor's office in there well the worst part too has a condosure of it like if you go into any of the state liquor stores finding like the one off like
- 1:04:19[SPEAKER_02]: good for bins.
- 1:04:20[SPEAKER_02]: You don't exist.
- 1:04:21[SPEAKER_02]: It's all top level brands that bought their way in.
- 1:04:23[SPEAKER_02]: You're like, cool.
- 1:04:24[SPEAKER_02]: It's Jack Daniels and Jamison, like I don't want to try some like local, you know, fucking bourbon or rye, but yeah, they don't.
- 1:04:31[SPEAKER_05]: But they're all bought out and then they're buried in the shelves and all of the stuff.
- 1:04:34[SPEAKER_05]: Luckily, we don't have that problem, but our biggest problem is just keeping in stock.
- 1:04:38[SPEAKER_05]: Same thing.
- 1:04:39[SPEAKER_05]: It's just like, you can't sell out and all that other shit.
- 1:04:43[SPEAKER_05]: Now, for you guys, because you're all such high level,
- 1:04:46[SPEAKER_02]: execs and all those shit and get a fly around and do all the meat and grease and everything else You've stopped at least a little bit doing the crazier videos like obviously you can't do pussy whistle and everything else No, it's it's no I I think that's something I would love to clarify I think people like I actually get really frustrated when people were like oh and vester like I am what I do With the fuck I want and if there's a day and it's not like I haven't hit this cross road before We're so much as you can't publish that
- 1:05:14[SPEAKER_02]: Or else?
- 1:05:16[SPEAKER_02]: Well, we're welcome to the fucking fist fight.
- 1:05:18[SPEAKER_02]: Well, we perfect dude, and it's it's happened.
- 1:05:20[SPEAKER_02]: It has over the years And we I don't sit in that position all but I also think like Times change like there's a lot of things I was you know on YouTube that I really enjoyed But I also think for longevity of a career like I want to redefine myself and I say I turned forward to this year So like I'm in a far different position for when I started YouTube
- 1:05:35[SPEAKER_02]: Fourteen years ago.
- 1:05:36[SPEAKER_02]: That's a long time ago.
- 1:05:37[SPEAKER_02]: It's a long time ago and like my life's different, right?
- 1:05:39[SPEAKER_02]: Like But our audience is grown up with us too.
- 1:05:42[SPEAKER_06]: Yes, this doesn't resonate anymore.
- 1:05:44[SPEAKER_06]: Yeah, if you took our jokes that were from ten years ago There was just not that funny anymore.
- 1:05:50[SPEAKER_06]: Well, and if you look at how social media is now everything is changed Thanks for watching.
- 1:05:55[SPEAKER_05]: You have to grow with your audience.
- 1:05:56[SPEAKER_02]: Yes, and I'm also a selfish comedian like I do stuff that makes me laugh that I want to do And I hope people like it as well, but I'm not in the business anymore of
- 1:06:04[SPEAKER_02]: I think this will do good.
- 1:06:05[SPEAKER_02]: I'm going to go do that like obviously when I make something up That's every other content content creator right now.
- 1:06:10[SPEAKER_02]: Yeah, but I don't want to be in that And that's why I built the things that I built so I'm not bucketed into like I have to publish this or else I'll lose my videos.
- 1:06:17[SPEAKER_02]: Are you reacting, you know, so you like we don't kind of Is gonna pay me fifty thousand dollars to do a commercial.
- 1:06:23[SPEAKER_02]: It's just not gonna happen unless it
- 1:06:25[SPEAKER_02]: it's a it's a fit.
- 1:06:26[SPEAKER_02]: Yeah, I'm just not doing it.
- 1:06:28[SPEAKER_05]: But it's also awesome to see from a friend perspective.
- 1:06:31[SPEAKER_05]: But then, you know, your fams will go on there and change whatever it was like, no, no, we didn't change.
- 1:06:36[SPEAKER_05]: You got older and the times have changed and you've got to keep up with the times, or else,
- 1:06:40[SPEAKER_05]: You're not gonna, you're not gonna have a fucking job.
- 1:06:43[SPEAKER_02]: And I think creative tax people don't take that into consideration.
- 1:06:45[SPEAKER_02]: I mean, like again, I've probably, I've been very light in the internet the last two years.
- 1:06:52[SPEAKER_02]: A lot of personal life stuff happened.
- 1:06:54[SPEAKER_02]: And also like I was kind of freaking tired like of posting that being front of the camera and I kind of wanted to revamp myself and that's in part where I had this, I have so much shit planned for the end of the year because I feel empowered like inspired again.
- 1:07:07[SPEAKER_02]: We're empowered, no, like, inspired.
- 1:07:08[SPEAKER_02]: Like, I actually feel like creatively I want to do things where they're for a while, it was just kind of, man.
- 1:07:13[SPEAKER_05]: I told Bob's back, because I told you this all the time.
- 1:07:17[SPEAKER_05]: He's always asked me, he's like, dude, you don't want to go back and make movies or anything and I was like, no, I don't have the desire.
- 1:07:22[SPEAKER_05]: Dude, I don't either.
- 1:07:23[SPEAKER_06]: Like, you say this again, and I think about it.
- 1:07:25[SPEAKER_06]: Like, range of jean was like, hmm, that hurt me.
- 1:07:29[SPEAKER_05]: It was awesome.
- 1:07:30[SPEAKER_05]: It was awesome, but it hurt.
- 1:07:31[SPEAKER_05]: But it was, yeah, I mean, it's a lot of fucking fun.
- 1:07:34[SPEAKER_05]: It's on a fucking work.
- 1:07:36[SPEAKER_05]: It's on everybody, always ask about a sequel and everything else, and I'm like, hey,
- 1:07:39[SPEAKER_05]: Uh, we'll see what happened.
- 1:07:40[SPEAKER_02]: Maybe we can animate it.
- 1:07:42[SPEAKER_05]: Maybe we can animate it.
- 1:07:43[SPEAKER_02]: Now, I'm gonna, I want to, I'm gonna, I'll direct a film in the next five years for sure.
- 1:07:47[SPEAKER_05]: You think so?
- 1:07:47[SPEAKER_05]: Yeah.
- 1:07:48[SPEAKER_05]: If you want to do it?
- 1:07:49[SPEAKER_02]: Yeah, we'll do it.
- 1:07:49[SPEAKER_02]: Well, I think, we'll get the band back together.
- 1:07:51[SPEAKER_02]: I, you know, again, the last two years too, because a lot of people say, well, I haven't been publishing not personally, but a lot of the, all the big commercials, I'm using writing and directing those.
- 1:07:59[SPEAKER_02]: So I'm not on camera.
- 1:08:01[SPEAKER_02]: Right.
- 1:08:01[SPEAKER_02]: Like, that spot we did, I went supervile with writer Green.
- 1:08:04[SPEAKER_02]: Like, I wrote that.
- 1:08:05[SPEAKER_02]: I co-directed that.
- 1:08:09[SPEAKER_02]: my brain child.
- 1:08:10[SPEAKER_02]: And so I'm learning that stuff just to get the right partner for more production.
- 1:08:15[SPEAKER_05]: So more mentally interesting, where you're locked in, where you're like, okay, cool, yeah.
- 1:08:21[SPEAKER_05]: Once I switched from acting to doing the other shit, I was like, all right, you know what's really fun?
- 1:08:26[SPEAKER_05]: It's controlling all this shit, right?
- 1:08:28[SPEAKER_02]: That's the fun part where you're like, okay, cool.
- 1:08:30[SPEAKER_02]: I love that, because you come over the stupid idea in your fricking kitchen.
- 1:08:35[SPEAKER_02]: and then three months later, you're on set.
- 1:08:37[SPEAKER_02]: Like, oh shit, I'm filming this.
- 1:08:38[SPEAKER_02]: Oh, and I got like the A-listers in this build, I'm like, let's go.
- 1:08:41[SPEAKER_05]: And it's like, you know, I think all of us are at a point in the career where it's like, I don't have to be famous.
- 1:08:46[SPEAKER_05]: Like, I'm good.
- 1:08:47[SPEAKER_05]: I had a good, it was a nice run.
- 1:08:49[SPEAKER_06]: It was just more phone call.
- 1:08:51[SPEAKER_05]: It's all it is.
- 1:08:52[SPEAKER_05]: Everybody in convenience thing more of a football car We're gonna have a phone call people that are like, hey, could you yeah face time like you know But but they're because there's that element too where you're just like all right I want to chill out and I want to you know, I love doing the podcast every day And I'm on technically TV every day
- 1:09:11[SPEAKER_05]: But that's it, where all right, unless it's fucking Captain America, some crazy paycheck, that's the only thing, otherwise it'd be a, I feel, it'd be a slap in the face of the audience to be like, hey, after 11 years of host and drinking bros, hey, thanks for building my entire life and career and all their other shifts, but fuck off, I'm gonna go do this.
- 1:09:31[SPEAKER_05]: Bullshit movie with David Spade like it's you know what I'm saying like it would just be such a fucking dick move I don't know how you would come back from that either and and I don't have the desire I really don't I would do the sequel to it's a range 15 in a second But that's about it.
- 1:09:47[SPEAKER_02]: We got a good Jean-Baine in the hand back in there like I I feel like Yeah, it would be a blast and it's like the uniform solid.
- 1:09:54[SPEAKER_02]: I have a bucket list on the creative side and and and doing him film like that and like Directing or co-directing
- 1:10:00[SPEAKER_02]: It will that's what I wanted.
- 1:10:02[SPEAKER_02]: I mean, I just want to prove to people.
- 1:10:03[SPEAKER_02]: I'm like I can I got I got fucking chops on this side of the house.
- 1:10:06[SPEAKER_05]: Well with the Advancement and Tech Knowledge so what you can do the action sequences it will be way different way.
- 1:10:13[SPEAKER_06]: We didn't have that We don't have to deal with a fucking stunt director especially now
- 1:10:22[SPEAKER_02]: Especially with like AI coming out and all these other things like I think film as a whole Because you're it's the same thing that happened to social media like you turn into this death scrolling like just rotten content Oh, and I I participate in it too like I'm not saying I'm occasionally like I'll find myself for 15 minutes Girl and like oh shit, but I think the more and more that comes accessible to the average person They're gonna need folks like us to come in and make like authentic like indie movies that
- 1:10:48[SPEAKER_02]: Yeah.
- 1:10:48[SPEAKER_02]: Like, Resistness is going to be like, Oh, this is real.
- 1:10:51[SPEAKER_02]: It's not just like some fucking AI-generated bullshit, because the visuals now, anything is possible.
- 1:10:58[SPEAKER_02]: And anything is possible.
- 1:10:59[SPEAKER_05]: I, Jared, you've got the book that's coming out and you sent me the trailer for it.
- 1:11:04[SPEAKER_05]: Some of the, as I'm building it, the animation.
- 1:11:06[SPEAKER_05]: Yeah, holy shit.
- 1:11:08[SPEAKER_05]: Yeah, I mean, I was so in Bob earlier, this morning.
- 1:11:12[SPEAKER_05]: it's insane what you're able to do with this right now and that's always very of obstrans very uh yeah the uh i just animation will be the key like right i would still like people to do the voices but yeah just like here's the fucking script dude like make it the taboan and taboan and taboan and taboan and yes um and let's talk about your book deep sky that's coming out next mom yeah sife uh sife yeah why that name it's yours i can't pronounce it that's the the thing that death has
- 1:11:37[SPEAKER_06]: You know, a scythe.
- 1:11:38[SPEAKER_06]: Yeah, the grim reaper.
- 1:11:39[SPEAKER_06]: Yeah, the grim reaper.
- 1:11:40[SPEAKER_02]: There you go.
- 1:11:40[SPEAKER_05]: Yeah, I didn't know what was called a scythe.
- 1:11:43[SPEAKER_02]: Yeah.
- 1:11:43[SPEAKER_02]: You obviously didn't play enough like tiablo or ground.
- 1:11:46[SPEAKER_02]: No.
- 1:11:46[SPEAKER_02]: Yeah.
- 1:11:47[SPEAKER_02]: See, I know the irony of it.
- 1:11:47[SPEAKER_02]: You got to get that.
- 1:11:48[SPEAKER_02]: I never played.
- 1:11:50[SPEAKER_06]: There's three things with this.
- 1:11:53[SPEAKER_02]: Okay.
- 1:11:53[SPEAKER_06]: Then I got to go down the road for you.
- 1:11:54[SPEAKER_06]: Yeah.
- 1:11:55[SPEAKER_06]: And you're going, both of you will understand them because as soon as we're done talking about this, we're talking about his next fucking face.
- 1:12:00[SPEAKER_06]: Of course.
- 1:12:02[SPEAKER_06]: is, number one, you know, every creative person dream, like anybody that does writing for a living, looks at universe creators as the masters, right?
- 1:12:14[SPEAKER_06]: So George Lucas, he created planets, spaceships, languages, fucking different types of things.
- 1:12:19[SPEAKER_06]: And he's the world that has lasted for 50 years.
- 1:12:22[SPEAKER_06]: Yes.
- 1:12:22[SPEAKER_02]: And entire universe, that is the end-degree.
- 1:12:25[SPEAKER_02]: It's Star Trek, right?
- 1:12:27[SPEAKER_02]: Yeah.
- 1:12:28[SPEAKER_06]: Of the creative process.
- 1:12:29[SPEAKER_06]: So that was something I wanted to do.
- 1:12:31[SPEAKER_06]: I wanted to tip my hat into a universe style type thing.
- 1:12:37[SPEAKER_06]: Number two, like, hey, we've done everything and entertainment for movies to TV, to podcasts, you know, and any good, like you look at books, to podcasts, like that,
- 1:12:47[SPEAKER_06]: I have been involved with over the last 10 years from launch code to black hard it to drinking bros time for high black coffee and
- 1:12:58[SPEAKER_05]: Missing one there was a listener in the on the app who said Jared is the master of creating a huge podcast and then just leaving Free range American yeah, span of a fucking puppy.
- 1:13:16[SPEAKER_02]: No, I know and that's again It's a compliment.
- 1:13:19[SPEAKER_02]: I think quite like black rifle did so well.
- 1:13:21[SPEAKER_02]: You have angry dad when drunk mom me Which is Evan and then you got
- 1:13:25[SPEAKER_02]: You know crazy uncle over here.
- 1:13:27[SPEAKER_02]: It's like they pair really well together because we're he superlacks I help and then we're I lack he help because I hate talking to people anybody It's I'm like probably one of the hardest fucking dudes get a hold of like just yeah I just don't care like this right this oh we want that I'm about to just kind of reach out to friends.
- 1:13:44[SPEAKER_02]: I've known for a decade and I don't have the numbers in my phone I'm like, Jared can you post me that number?
- 1:13:49[SPEAKER_06]: So I wanted to dive into
- 1:13:52[SPEAKER_06]: Right writing because of one of my one of my best friends Pete Donnelly who I own day one five publishing with he kept pushing me to write When you're gonna write when you're gonna write when you write.
- 1:14:02[SPEAKER_06]: Yeah, yeah, he died last year So that's literally what sparked this is I've like well, I got to write something now because I kept telling him I would It's hard by the way, right in the book is here.
- 1:14:13[SPEAKER_06]: You know what was so much fun about this for me and it and it was a dick thing Is I never have gotten to write without having a budget or reality assigned to it?
- 1:14:22[SPEAKER_06]: So this was so much fucking fun because this was the first time in my life in writing by the way that I didn't have to go with Well, do we have this or how much is this gonna cost or so I just said this in the show We think of my favorite thing about writing books is there's no budget.
- 1:14:36[SPEAKER_06]: Yes, that was that was so fun
- 1:14:39[SPEAKER_05]: We're on the moon, like in this one, we're on the fucking moon, you know, it's a team of people.
- 1:14:44[SPEAKER_06]: And that's it.
- 1:14:45[SPEAKER_06]: My whole concept of this is that it's kind of an, it's a, it's a, it's a side world that, you know, doesn't that I went from being a JTAC to a fighter pilot, gotten trouble.
- 1:14:55[SPEAKER_06]: But they kept me around because I have crazy ideas and one of my crazy ideas saved the Pacific Fleet.
- 1:15:00[SPEAKER_06]: And that,
- 1:15:01[SPEAKER_06]: cause the president to go, okay, he gets to pitch one idea if it's remotely doable you have to say yes.
- 1:15:07[SPEAKER_06]: And so I ask for an aircraft carrier that reports underneath J. Sock, not the U.S. Navy.
- 1:15:13[SPEAKER_06]: And I get to staff it and everything.
- 1:15:16[SPEAKER_06]: And so that's it.
- 1:15:17[SPEAKER_06]: Like I can now the third thing about this, this is what I'm doing is is something that is new.
- 1:15:22[SPEAKER_06]: It's a new concept that I think could take off that everybody could apply later
- 1:15:29[SPEAKER_06]: Every character in this book is a real person that flies with me in our, in our simulators.
- 1:15:34[SPEAKER_06]: Okay.
- 1:15:35[SPEAKER_06]: We have recreated the missions in the book.
- 1:15:37[SPEAKER_06]: So imagine reading Tom Clancy's Splinter Cell when you're 15 years old, and then you can turn on the PlayStation Network and go play with everybody that you just read in your book.
- 1:15:45[SPEAKER_06]: All right, so I'll play the exact things and do the exact things you're talking to the commander.
- 1:15:50[SPEAKER_06]: So if you come in and you're like, I want to fly a swiper jet and be in an E.A.
- 1:15:54[SPEAKER_06]: 18 growler.
- 1:15:55[SPEAKER_06]: Well, Wilbur is your commander and he's telling you what to do.
- 1:15:58[SPEAKER_06]: That's the same guy that you just read in the book.
- 1:16:00[SPEAKER_06]: So I mean, now imagine applying this to mainstream streamers, like if you're playing elder scrolls and you're doing or even Diablo and you've got the five people that play with you in Diablo, well you can now write fantasy books about this world with those five characters that you then invite your readers to come in and watch and play with you.
- 1:16:21[SPEAKER_05]: And with this, what date does this come out further?
- 1:16:24[SPEAKER_05]: June 2nd is when it will be like hard back?
- 1:16:27[SPEAKER_05]: Yes.
- 1:16:28[SPEAKER_05]: Okay.
- 1:16:28[SPEAKER_05]: And what about audio?
- 1:16:29[SPEAKER_06]: Audio will come out the same day.
- 1:16:30[SPEAKER_05]: Okay, great.
- 1:16:31[SPEAKER_05]: Is it ready?
- 1:16:31[SPEAKER_06]: I hope.
- 1:16:32[SPEAKER_06]: Yes.
- 1:16:32[SPEAKER_05]: Okay.
- 1:16:33[SPEAKER_05]: Good.
- 1:16:33[SPEAKER_05]: Good.
- 1:16:33[SPEAKER_06]: Good.
- 1:16:34[SPEAKER_05]: That's a moment.
- 1:16:35[SPEAKER_06]: And I made a sound effect or a musical album for it.
- 1:16:39[SPEAKER_06]: So it's already up on Spotify, it's called Deep Sight, so same thing.
- 1:16:44[SPEAKER_06]: So all that music will be in the audio book and everything.
- 1:16:47[SPEAKER_06]: So there's a musical album that almost mirrors the top gun album.
- 1:16:51[SPEAKER_05]: And so the animated clip that you sent me is the dream to eventually animate the book.
- 1:16:55[SPEAKER_05]: Oh yeah.
- 1:16:56[SPEAKER_05]: Okay.
- 1:16:56[SPEAKER_06]: As soon as we get there, like right now I'm learning.
- 1:17:00[SPEAKER_06]: And I'm you've always been ahead of a curve.
- 1:17:03[SPEAKER_05]: The footage you sent me a I wise it was the best that I've seen animation wise yet And I was like man how the fuck did you do this?
- 1:17:09[SPEAKER_05]: And it's it's a mixture of you're still gonna need Photoshop Yes, and that's why I'm not watching out of this shop this is because I am
- 1:17:17[SPEAKER_06]: I'm using 10 different AI's and I'm also compiling everything in Photoshop and making the AI the least amount of guess work that it has to do.
- 1:17:27[SPEAKER_06]: So I'm feeding it everything possible.
- 1:17:30[SPEAKER_06]: Like even two, some of the scenes man and this is some things I don't think people thought about is like there was a scene that I was doing on the carrier deck and I wanted smoke to be in the foreground.
- 1:17:40[SPEAKER_06]: Well, what I did is I went in and I, I had illustrated smoke created and then I told the AI to give me that smoke animated on a bright green background because you know what I did I put it in the premiere and I keyed it out as if I shot it on a green screen.
- 1:17:52[SPEAKER_06]: Yeah.
- 1:17:55[SPEAKER_05]: Yeah.
- 1:17:55[SPEAKER_05]: It takes the talent to be able to do that.
- 1:17:57[SPEAKER_05]: And like, I don't have those editing skills.
- 1:17:59[SPEAKER_05]: Now, Jesse, my wife does audio wise.
- 1:18:01[SPEAKER_05]: I mean, we had Bert Reynolds in this one license the estate and you get to direct them.
- 1:18:05[SPEAKER_05]: Same as his on set.
- 1:18:07[SPEAKER_05]: It's fucking creepy, man.
- 1:18:09[SPEAKER_05]: And there's like 10 other famous actors in this.
- 1:18:11[SPEAKER_05]: But it is open up such a whole new world as far as content creation goes.
- 1:18:18[SPEAKER_05]: Yes, it is the future.
- 1:18:19[SPEAKER_05]: No, you're not all gonna lose your fucking jobs because it still takes talent behind the scenes to navigate this and tweak it.
- 1:18:26[SPEAKER_06]: still the same amount of work like I don't know about you guys but I get it still a lot of work so Saturday June 6th at the Black Rifle Coffee Off of Bitter's Road which is right in San Antonio we're doing a whole day at the store there we're bringing my simulator there and then all the pilots and characters inside this book will be there.
- 1:18:46[SPEAKER_06]: So you'll fucking all look at me to everybody.
- 1:18:48[SPEAKER_06]: Everybody's in their costume.
- 1:18:50[SPEAKER_06]: We have all the patches and stickers.
- 1:18:52[SPEAKER_06]: Where is this at at the black rifle coffee off of in Bernie?
- 1:18:55[SPEAKER_06]: No, no, no, the one in San Antonio.
- 1:18:56[SPEAKER_06]: Oh, gosh, it's a road.
- 1:18:58[SPEAKER_06]: Fuck yeah.
- 1:18:58[SPEAKER_05]: Awesome.
- 1:18:58[SPEAKER_06]: I've been to that one too.
- 1:18:59[SPEAKER_06]: June six Saturday.
- 1:19:01[SPEAKER_06]: We're going to be there from 10 to like six p.m. We did the bell ringing show there.
- 1:19:04[SPEAKER_05]: Yes.
- 1:19:05[SPEAKER_05]: That is exactly exactly it.
- 1:19:07[SPEAKER_06]: So.
- 1:19:07[SPEAKER_06]: Getting on to what he has done.
- 1:19:09[SPEAKER_05]: Yeah, well, here's the thing.
- 1:19:11[SPEAKER_05]: Every year, everybody waits for your Memorial Day video.
- 1:19:15[SPEAKER_05]: We are at it.
- 1:19:16[SPEAKER_05]: What, two weeks away?
- 1:19:17[SPEAKER_05]: I don't want to put any pressure on this.
- 1:19:20[SPEAKER_06]: But I have to say this for this one is...
- 1:19:23[SPEAKER_06]: This is going to be the best historical true tribute song to Memorial Day that has ever existed because it's the first time that somebody that has actually lived this life is doing it that has the level of musical talent and directorial skills that he has.
- 1:19:39[SPEAKER_06]: Like so it is shot when no one has done this.
- 1:19:41[SPEAKER_05]: It is shot like a movie.
- 1:19:42[SPEAKER_05]: There's no AI.
- 1:19:43[SPEAKER_05]: No.
- 1:19:45[SPEAKER_05]: It is shot like a fucking movie.
- 1:19:47[SPEAKER_05]: I recognize some of the locations.
- 1:19:49[SPEAKER_05]: One of them was in range 13.
- 1:19:53[SPEAKER_05]: That's a pretty penny here, but not only do I think it's your best video that you've ever made from Memorial Day.
- 1:20:00[SPEAKER_05]: But also, you as a director, you've grown so much that the shots, the movements, everything else that you're capturing in this video are incredible.
- 1:20:10[SPEAKER_05]: and you were really fucking growing leaps and bounds.
- 1:20:13[SPEAKER_02]: The song is, is, is, is, is, is, is, is, is, is, is, is, is, is, is, is, is, is, is, is, is, is, is, is, is, is, is, is, is, is, is, is, is, is, is, is, is, is, is, is, is, is, is, is, is, is, is, is, is, is, is, is, is, is, is, is, is, is, is, is, is, is, is, is, is, is, is, is, is, is, is, is, is, is, is, is, is, is, is, is, is, is, is, is, is, is, is, is, is, is, is, is, is, is, is, is, is, is, is, is, is, is, is, is,
- 1:20:40[SPEAKER_02]: his ability in camera work to with the D.P.
- 1:20:42[SPEAKER_02]: and the shots that they put like they're he's just incredible and so I that's actually who I went through and worked with and so we worked as a team to get this done like.
- 1:20:50[SPEAKER_02]: the military stuff that happens in there that was predominantly me or the director of photography making sure he looks fucking real dude.
- 1:20:56[SPEAKER_05]: Yeah, I mean I that was you know what we're doing behind the scenes on that thing and this song's called Folded Flag and I don't know how much you want me to get into that but you know yeah I just as much as you want I guess because it every year you do this and every year it's emotional and I mean to me and you know forgive me if I'm fucking speaking out of school here
- 1:21:20[SPEAKER_05]: It was like a four minute movie where like there's a beginning middle and ends and like I know that all these people's lives and maybe it's because you know I helped through the book and all that other stuff where like it felt like it was written about somebody's specific It is and it is and honestly the genesis of this I wrote to pretty really heavy songs And I won't get too much into that but like
- 1:21:41[SPEAKER_02]: It was a really challenging thing.
- 1:21:42[SPEAKER_02]: My dad got, you know, ended up breaking his back.
- 1:21:46[SPEAKER_02]: We take him into the hospital, found out he has stage four, a soft-a-gill cancer, which is one of the most gnarliest ones.
- 1:21:52[SPEAKER_02]: Metastasized.
- 1:21:53[SPEAKER_02]: Top of best.
- 1:21:54[SPEAKER_02]: Top of best.
- 1:21:55[SPEAKER_02]: Mattas size in all of his bones, and you know, I'll never forget, it was like, you know, like a 56k modem when I'm watching the bone scan come down.
- 1:22:02[SPEAKER_02]: Beep, remember he's trying to watch the horn, you're like, let me see that, Titi.
- 1:22:05[SPEAKER_02]: Yeah.
- 1:22:06[SPEAKER_02]: As it goes down, he looks pretty much like an absolute Christmas tree, like the cancer's fucking everywhere.
- 1:22:11[SPEAKER_02]: And he had broken a five of his L, L spine, and so he essentially was bedridden, and then, you know, I was, it's me and him in Texas.
- 1:22:21[SPEAKER_02]: So I spend essentially
- 1:22:25[SPEAKER_02]: where he couldn't do anything on his own.
- 1:22:26[SPEAKER_02]: And so it put me and do a, one of the most psychologically challenging positions I've ever been in my life just because you go through this absolute gambit of emotions, right?
- 1:22:39[SPEAKER_02]: In one sense, you're like, I'm a provider, anything and everything I can do for my father.
- 1:22:43[SPEAKER_02]: But then in the same sense, I can't imagine the emotional and psychological distress he's under looking at death like the doors three feet away and he's like you're coming, right?
- 1:22:51[SPEAKER_02]: So he's having to, you know,
- 1:22:53[SPEAKER_02]: metabolize all that in his own brain and so a lot of emotions.
- 1:22:57[SPEAKER_02]: I mean, you know, he used to call me at like two three in the morning.
- 1:23:00[SPEAKER_02]: I had to spend the whole night in the phone with them.
- 1:23:02[SPEAKER_02]: He would call me and scream at me and call me a piece of shit and I punch my fucking steering wheel going driving an hour into the hospital.
- 1:23:09[SPEAKER_02]: It was there was just a lot of emotion and and so two songs came out of that.
- 1:23:13[SPEAKER_05]: What was he forgive me?
- 1:23:14[SPEAKER_05]: What was he screaming about?
- 1:23:15[SPEAKER_02]: I mean, to imagine, imagine being my dad, you know, you know, pop the best I do.
- 1:23:19[SPEAKER_02]: I do.
- 1:23:20[SPEAKER_02]: I know.
- 1:23:20[SPEAKER_02]: Grumpy old man.
- 1:23:21[SPEAKER_05]: You drank a lot, played a lot of music together.
- 1:23:23[SPEAKER_05]: Great guy.
- 1:23:23[SPEAKER_05]: He's the best.
- 1:23:24[SPEAKER_02]: Great guy.
- 1:23:25[SPEAKER_02]: But imagine being in a, not being able to move or bed written, you're dying.
- 1:23:30[SPEAKER_02]: and then you have nurse changes over every, you know, 12 hours, new nurses come in.
- 1:23:35[SPEAKER_02]: They don't know your charts.
- 1:23:36[SPEAKER_02]: And so I was his resource.
- 1:23:39[SPEAKER_02]: I was the only one that could make sense of the things.
- 1:23:41[SPEAKER_02]: And so if I wasn't there at all times, I mean, especially in the first couple of months, it wasn't un-average for me to be there 15 to 18 hours a day in the hospital.
- 1:23:52[SPEAKER_02]: And so,
- 1:23:53[SPEAKER_02]: you know, and then I'm coming home.
- 1:23:54[SPEAKER_02]: I was, you know, separated.
- 1:23:55[SPEAKER_02]: So I came home to empty house, no food, just like fuck man.
- 1:23:58[SPEAKER_02]: It was, it was a lot.
- 1:23:59[SPEAKER_02]: But with that said, that, you know, gets to a place in life where like my, my therapy has always been like music and an emotional outlet.
- 1:24:06[SPEAKER_02]: And so, with a fast forward a little bit, the morning my dad passes away.
- 1:24:12[SPEAKER_02]: which was, you know, I think anybody that's been through that.
- 1:24:15[SPEAKER_02]: It was almost a relief because he was in so much pain for so long, you know, yeah.
- 1:24:20[SPEAKER_02]: Were you there?
- 1:24:21[SPEAKER_02]: Did you get a comb?
- 1:24:22[SPEAKER_02]: No, I was there.
- 1:24:23[SPEAKER_02]: Okay.
- 1:24:24[SPEAKER_02]: He, I went up.
- 1:24:25[SPEAKER_02]: It was right, right after Christmas.
- 1:24:27[SPEAKER_02]: So I, my, my sister had come down nice enough to watch her for four days.
- 1:24:30[SPEAKER_02]: So I could go spend it with my girlfriend's kids and then the nurse, the hospital nurse was like, hey, this is the week.
- 1:24:36[SPEAKER_02]: So I flew down and I was there for it.
- 1:24:39[SPEAKER_02]: But as he passes, I walk in there, my dad's passed, and then it's like all these emotions, like the father that raised you and did all these incredible things.
- 1:24:46[SPEAKER_02]: And I know I'm so fortunate to have a present father for 81 years of his life, 40 years of mine.
- 1:24:52[SPEAKER_02]: But then they put him essentially in the casket and they put him to American flag over the casket.
- 1:24:57[SPEAKER_02]: He was a Vietnam veteran, Marine Corps veteran, and either wheeling him off.
- 1:25:01[SPEAKER_02]: And that's the last thing I ever saw was my father, Draped into American flag.
- 1:25:07[SPEAKER_02]: And so like, it'll list it's all these crazy emotions because it's not the first time guys like most people probably listen and have been to funerals and then you fold that flag up.
- 1:25:15[SPEAKER_02]: And I just remember thinking that, fuck, the amount of emotion in this folded flag is like absolutely insane.
- 1:25:21[SPEAKER_02]: Like the Christmas is my dad gave me that the soccer games he would go to and then like all the stressors of him dying and like all of it, right?
- 1:25:31[SPEAKER_02]: It's encompassing this little fucking thing and so I was thinking about it and I'm like, fuck, the truth hits hard in that folded flag.
- 1:25:36[SPEAKER_02]: and that ended up being kind of one of the taglines of the music video.
- 1:25:40[SPEAKER_02]: And then as it kind of transcended my father, it started kind of coalescing until like a lot of the friends that I've lost over the years and funerals.
- 1:25:47[SPEAKER_02]: And I was like, man, this is something that means so much to me personally, emotionally, that.
- 1:25:53[SPEAKER_02]: I don't think anybody's ever fucking talked about the heavy side of this.
- 1:25:56[SPEAKER_02]: It's always like, never forget kind of thing.
- 1:25:59[SPEAKER_02]: And I think that's an important narrative and sentiment, but also like, there's a lot of folks out there, like Goldstar families, like, and that's what we were working with the Brent Taylor Foundation, major Brent Taylor Foundation on this one.
- 1:26:09[SPEAKER_02]: trying to make any money.
- 1:26:10[SPEAKER_02]: This is an investment from Black Rife who really made it happen.
- 1:26:14[SPEAKER_02]: I spent a lot of my own personal money on it.
- 1:26:16[SPEAKER_02]: And it was like, how do I, to Jared's point, I hope be the steward of this memorial day piece that breaks through all the hype.
- 1:26:25[SPEAKER_02]: Like, yeah, go, go barbecue, eat your hot dogs.
- 1:26:28[SPEAKER_02]: Be thankful for people that serve this country and pay the ultimate sacrifice.
- 1:26:33[SPEAKER_02]: But at the end of the day, man, there's a fucking lot that goes into there because every single day, when you like,
- 1:26:39[SPEAKER_02]: Logan said this really incredible thing when we're at the L.A.
- 1:26:43[SPEAKER_02]: Cemetery shooting, he goes, you know, every single date in on the calendar is on a gravestone in this cemetery and every single date on the calendar is Memorial Day for someone.
- 1:26:55[SPEAKER_02]: 365.
- 1:26:56[SPEAKER_02]: Yeah.
- 1:26:57[SPEAKER_02]: And so when you put it in the context of that of folks that lost their father, kids that grew up without their father, their mother,
- 1:27:03[SPEAKER_02]: Man, that's a heavy fucking thing, because it's a generational thing.
- 1:27:07[SPEAKER_02]: There are conversations that you have to have with kids.
- 1:27:10[SPEAKER_02]: There's so much ensorbed in that.
- 1:27:11[SPEAKER_02]: So, I tried to put that essence forward, and I really thought that the only way we can capture that with the song was elegantly and respectfully putting as much creative prowess that I have into the video.
- 1:27:23[SPEAKER_02]: And then Jensen Dome was kind enough to partner with me and bring that to life.
- 1:27:27[SPEAKER_02]: And I really hope that this
- 1:27:31[SPEAKER_02]: for people that don't understand Memorial Day, then this is that piece that they go, oh fuck, like, I get it, like this is about loss.
- 1:27:39[SPEAKER_02]: Like this is in a feel good thing, this is like this is fucking heavy and for the folks that continue to do that.
- 1:27:45[SPEAKER_02]: And also like politicians that just,
- 1:27:48[SPEAKER_02]: decide that, you know, they'll send someone else's son in the war to die, that they're like the ask of that and the families that do that is the largest ask you could ever do.
- 1:27:59[SPEAKER_05]: Yeah.
- 1:27:59[SPEAKER_02]: You know, when you're a young guy and you go to war, we're like, fuck yeah, I'll do it, fuck yeah.
- 1:28:02[SPEAKER_02]: But then as you get older, you realize that like these are daughters, these are sons that people are losing.
- 1:28:08[SPEAKER_02]: the third and fourth order effects for that family, their communities, it's forever.
- 1:28:12[SPEAKER_02]: It's not just like when the tabloids are gone and the hype about someone passing is gone, the family lives with that forever.
- 1:28:21[SPEAKER_02]: And so that's what this thing's about.
- 1:28:23[SPEAKER_02]: And we hope to bring light to the Major Print Taylor Foundation with that, which is a gold star and nonprofit that brings gold star families together to create networks and community and do a lot of things.
- 1:28:32[SPEAKER_02]: So
- 1:28:33[SPEAKER_05]: Yeah, and you guys don't get enough credit for how many charities you do.
- 1:28:37[SPEAKER_05]: Also, you don't publicize it a lot.
- 1:28:38[SPEAKER_05]: So it's like, you know, I'll see it here and there.
- 1:28:41[SPEAKER_05]: But behind the scenes, you and Black Rife will do a million different charities.
- 1:28:47[SPEAKER_05]: And it's like, dude, I get to the stories because, you know, we're all friends and everything else and we're like, I'm in.
- 1:28:52[SPEAKER_05]: You understand, he helped out so and so and so and so and so in my community and and all other stuff and and it's awesome to hear but you don't see it that much because it's you know some of these channels that are out there.
- 1:29:03[SPEAKER_05]: Look, we did, look, we did over and over again.
- 1:29:05[SPEAKER_05]: And it's just like, it's really, really ruined that.
- 1:29:09[SPEAKER_06]: It has, yeah, where it feels like it's something to come in and buy 200 pizzas with the home.
- 1:29:14[SPEAKER_06]: It's right.
- 1:29:15[SPEAKER_05]: Where it's just like cool, you didn't have to fucking host it.
- 1:29:18[SPEAKER_05]: I trust that you bought 200 pizzas.
- 1:29:20[SPEAKER_05]: It's like, yeah, they look full.
- 1:29:22[SPEAKER_05]: They look fatter than they used to, so you're good.
- 1:29:25[SPEAKER_05]: But look, at the end of the day, thank you for everything that's you've done for me.
- 1:29:32[SPEAKER_05]: It's the point that show we get to the drinking bro the week and since this is our last show in Texas I'm going to give it to you guys Yeah, that email changed my life Uh, it really did Facebook message Facebook message whatever man and then I don't do social media by the way you made me do social media.
- 1:29:47[SPEAKER_05]: I never did social media before
- 1:29:48[SPEAKER_02]: Hey, I just want the accolade for bringing your rap career back there for a few few years.
- 1:29:52[SPEAKER_00]: You're a better baby.
- 1:29:54[SPEAKER_00]: You're a better baby.
- 1:29:55[SPEAKER_00]: You're a better baby.
- 1:29:55[SPEAKER_00]: That's our first tannitone.
- 1:29:57[SPEAKER_00]: The other bit of this video.
- 1:29:58[SPEAKER_00]: We did it all wrong.
- 1:30:00[SPEAKER_01]: What's the one we did?
- 1:30:00[SPEAKER_01]: What's the one we did?
- 1:30:02[SPEAKER_01]: The biscuits.
- 1:30:02[SPEAKER_01]: The biscuits.
- 1:30:03[SPEAKER_05]: We filmed it out like talking about it.
- 1:30:05[SPEAKER_05]: That was fun.
- 1:30:05[SPEAKER_05]: And then they went back to it.
- 1:30:07[SPEAKER_05]: They were there.
- 1:30:07[SPEAKER_05]: They're not in singing.
- 1:30:08[SPEAKER_05]: Probably because we made them come back.
- 1:30:10[SPEAKER_05]: Probably I just get but one of the biggest questions I always get is like why these guys like why what's what was special about these guys And I was like man real people which I hadn't dealt with in years in Hollywood and then we both all of us have the darkest sense of humor of all time
- 1:30:25[SPEAKER_05]: Um, which is also very very rare.
- 1:30:29[SPEAKER_02]: It's also called being real.
- 1:30:30[SPEAKER_02]: I think so too.
- 1:30:31[SPEAKER_02]: You lived enough life where it's an honestly like so many people are full of shit.
- 1:30:35[SPEAKER_02]: And I was like that where they're like, oh, I'm the perfect this.
- 1:30:37[SPEAKER_02]: You get in behind closed door and they're the rudest people I've ever met in my life.
- 1:30:40[SPEAKER_02]: Oh, my mango.
- 1:30:41[SPEAKER_06]: What is so normal for us under stress like when we're in high stress situations high stress situations Yeah, we are the most relaxed that you'll ever see and we fuck with each other more than like the amount of times that we're about ready to leave and it's like
- 1:31:00[SPEAKER_06]: Oh, hey, Dan, I think you're getting hit on this one.
- 1:31:02[SPEAKER_06]: And everybody starts laughing, he's like, yeah, that dream too.
- 1:31:05[SPEAKER_06]: Yeah, I don't think you're getting back, hey, dude.
- 1:31:07[SPEAKER_06]: I thought I think you're going to lose a leg on this one.
- 1:31:09[SPEAKER_06]: Dude, we fuck with each other like that.
- 1:31:11[SPEAKER_06]: Like, because it just, it's in our nature.
- 1:31:14[SPEAKER_05]: Yeah.
- 1:31:15[SPEAKER_05]: And the other thing too, that people came wrapped their mind around is I root for all of my friend's success.
- 1:31:21[SPEAKER_05]: And so, like, dude, I want black rifle coffee to succeed.
- 1:31:24[SPEAKER_05]: I want, like, all of everybody.
- 1:31:26[SPEAKER_05]: To succeed in life and be rich.
- 1:31:28[SPEAKER_05]: There's plenty of limelight and fucking money and all that other shit out there We're like if you don't root for your friends on a daily basis, I think you're a piece of shit Yeah, because it's not a give or take it's not you you're not taking anything
- 1:31:45[SPEAKER_05]: My god, man, the amount of times, and I'm just like, look, we're all friends in real life and the most time.
- 1:31:52[SPEAKER_05]: We both got families and lives and shits, like it's, you know, it happens as you get older.
- 1:31:58[SPEAKER_02]: Yeah, we're not in our 20s.
- 1:31:59[SPEAKER_02]: And the unsuccessful people, they live their life every day on jealous and being agreed.
- 1:32:04[SPEAKER_02]: And that's the same thing when they hate, like, oh, you're fucking doing this.
- 1:32:07[SPEAKER_02]: It's just like, I'm sorry that you can't, or you're too fucking lazy to do it.
- 1:32:11[SPEAKER_05]: Yeah.
- 1:32:15[SPEAKER_05]: My god, man.
- 1:32:17[SPEAKER_05]: If just come with me for 72 hours or you guys are whoever, right?
- 1:32:21[SPEAKER_05]: It's socks and most of the people are off, right?
- 1:32:24[SPEAKER_05]: No, it's the reason for all of them.
- 1:32:26[SPEAKER_05]: And then it affects your wife, it affects your kids, it affects your friends and all the other shit and you're just like, okay, you learn how to compartmentalize it and all that other shit, but it's hard.
- 1:32:35[SPEAKER_05]: And it sucks where you're just like I just want to do the fun shit.
- 1:32:39[SPEAKER_05]: This is the fun shit, but we get to do it.
- 1:32:41[SPEAKER_05]: I know every day So I'm grateful, but thank you guys and I love you best of luck in Orlando So everybody won the the book is on June 2nd and it's a fly wetboys.com Okay, cool, and then I'll see you at the end of May.
- 1:32:56[SPEAKER_05]: I think yeah, yeah, I've been wanting to yeah Say what it is
- 1:33:01[SPEAKER_05]: And then tell everybody when your video drops it will be Friday, May 22nd.
- 1:33:07[SPEAKER_05]: Okay, cool.
- 1:33:08[SPEAKER_05]: So four days after this comes out great.
- 1:33:11[SPEAKER_05]: Yeah, and it is truly one of the best if not the best video I've ever seen you do so congratulations, man And you're directing is just fucking elevated to another level
- 1:33:20[SPEAKER_02]: Yeah, we just turn up that, you know, Melodyne Autotune, make my voice sound super perfect.
- 1:33:27[SPEAKER_05]: Yeah.
- 1:33:27[SPEAKER_05]: Yeah.
- 1:33:27[SPEAKER_05]: And you're in it now.
- 1:33:28[SPEAKER_02]: Dude, I have to say what they got that, like my producer shout to Nick Samson, fucking great guy.
- 1:33:32[SPEAKER_02]: That guy is a fucking asshole, because he comes down to Texas when I record the saw and everyone's down there, we're doing some other film.
- 1:33:38[SPEAKER_02]: And I did 1000 vocal takes.
- 1:33:43[SPEAKER_02]: on that song.
- 1:33:45[SPEAKER_02]: One thousand.
- 1:33:45[SPEAKER_05]: How did you not blow out your voice?
- 1:33:47[SPEAKER_02]: It was over five days and I'm like, I nailed it.
- 1:33:49[SPEAKER_02]: He's like, no, instead of going, ah, you went, ah, and I'm like, Nick, it's the same fucking thing and he goes, trust me, it's not, yeah, he puts you through the ringer, but the priest in the pudding and it sounds good.
- 1:34:00[SPEAKER_05]: It is.
- 1:34:01[SPEAKER_05]: It is.
- 1:34:01[SPEAKER_05]: It's fantastic.
- 1:34:02[SPEAKER_05]: And should I thought the audiobook is hard.
- 1:34:04[SPEAKER_05]: A thousand takes?
- 1:34:05[SPEAKER_02]: Fucking song.
- 1:34:06[SPEAKER_02]: Yeah.
- 1:34:07[SPEAKER_05]: God damn.
- 1:34:08[SPEAKER_02]: I'm not listening to everyone.
- 1:34:09[SPEAKER_02]: I'm not the best singer.
- 1:34:10[SPEAKER_02]: So I got to fake it till you make it, but yeah.
- 1:34:13[SPEAKER_05]: Well, it's awesome, I can't wait to see it come out.
- 1:34:16[SPEAKER_05]: Go to iTunes, right?
- 1:34:17[SPEAKER_05]: Show a five star and leave a quick review.
- 1:34:19[SPEAKER_05]: This video will be on Spotify or video deal is with Spotify.
- 1:34:24[SPEAKER_05]: We'll put up on YouTube too.
- 1:34:26[SPEAKER_05]: I don't think free on YouTube is free on Spotify as well.
- 1:34:30[SPEAKER_05]: And for the OGs, man, Jared Taylor.
- 1:34:34[SPEAKER_05]: Matt Best, I'm Ross Patterson.
- 1:34:37[SPEAKER_05]: This is the drinking bros podcast.
- 1:34:39[SPEAKER_05]: Good night everyone.
