- 0:10Speaker 1: Juss the Good Report.
- 0:14Speaker 2: Tonight, Donald Trump's stunning coup on day two, a massive
- 0:18Speaker 2: deal that could save your life. Plus how Trump haters
- 0:21Speaker 2: in the media claim Trump backer Elon Musk is flashing
- 0:26Speaker 2: Nazi salutes. Let me show you how the media lies.
- 0:31Speaker 2: And Tenet's Australia conned into not celebrating Australia Day on Sunday.
- 0:35Speaker 2: That's got to change. And plenty more coming up. But first,
- 0:39Speaker 2: Anthony Alban easy, he's under so much pressure over this
- 0:44Speaker 2: anti Jewish terrorism, let loose under his watch that no
- 0:47Speaker 2: wonder He today jumped at what looks like an excuse.
- 0:52Speaker 2: It's foreigners who have been whipping up some of the
- 0:55Speaker 2: burning Jewish targets. Nothing to do with anything our poor
- 0:59Speaker 2: Prime minis is done or not done.
- 1:03Speaker 3: It would appear, as the AFP Commissioner said yesterday, that
- 1:07Speaker 3: some of these are being perpetrated by people who don't
- 1:10Speaker 3: have a particular issued, aren't motivated by an ideology, but
- 1:15Speaker 3: are paid actors.
- 1:17Speaker 2: And even better, that Federal Police Commissioner today repeated to
- 1:20Speaker 2: the cameras what it said only in a press release
- 1:23Speaker 2: like yesterday.
- 1:25Speaker 4: We believe criminals for hire maybe behind some incidents, so
- 1:31Speaker 4: part of our inquiries include who is paying those criminals,
- 1:36Speaker 4: where those people are, whether they are in Australia or offshore,
- 1:41Speaker 4: and what their motivation is.
- 1:44Speaker 2: How grateful Albanis must be for anything that might suggest
- 1:47Speaker 2: that this explosion of due hatred here has nothing to
- 1:50Speaker 2: do with his anti Israel revel rousing as he touts
- 1:54Speaker 2: with Muslim and Green votes. How useful for a prime
- 1:57Speaker 2: minister under such enormous criticism over his weakness in dealing
- 2:02Speaker 2: with this new terrorism if he can claim that some
- 2:06Speaker 2: of the people terrifying Jews, fire bombing synagogues, cars, even
- 2:10Speaker 2: childcare centers aren't motivated by ideology like Islam, But are
- 2:16Speaker 2: randoms just paid by foreigners now for operational reasons. The
- 2:21Speaker 2: AFP isn't saying what information they've got to back up
- 2:24Speaker 2: the suggestion that local criminals may be paid by foreign
- 2:27Speaker 2: players in cryptocurrency to attack Jewish targets Here. Maybe the
- 2:31Speaker 2: AFP boss is playing mind games with his real targets,
- 2:35Speaker 2: but I respect him as a serious man, so let's
- 2:38Speaker 2: take him at his word. It's actually not hard then
- 2:42Speaker 2: to guess who these foreign actors are that is probably
- 2:46Speaker 2: talking about now. The opposition speculates it could be Irun,
- 2:49Speaker 2: but I don't know. I doubt the Ranian embassy would
- 2:53Speaker 2: know how to safely contact street criminals in Australia and
- 2:57Speaker 2: pay them to torch things. But there are organizations that
- 3:02Speaker 2: are Muslim or Middle Eastern which certainly do know that,
- 3:07Speaker 2: and in fact have already burned down scores of buildings
- 3:10Speaker 2: in Melbourne, Sydney, Brisbane, Perth and Adelaide. These are gangs
- 3:16Speaker 2: alleged to involve members of Middle Eastern background, local gangs
- 3:21Speaker 2: especially all this is allegedly from Victoria, who are fighting
- 3:25Speaker 2: over the illegal tobacco trade in the war that so
- 3:28Speaker 2: far had around two hundred shops set on fire, including
- 3:32Speaker 2: one hundred and thirty one in Victoria and fourteen in Sydney.
- 3:38Speaker 2: These are also again often far as lipped by street
- 3:43Speaker 2: hoods or sometimes even children, but the gangs that pay
- 3:47Speaker 2: them they are serious, and we have seen many examples
- 3:51Speaker 2: of many senior gang figures now living or hiding overseas,
- 3:54Speaker 2: always in Muslim countries including Iraq and Lebanon, and q Wait,
- 3:59Speaker 2: the Turkey, Malaysia. And it's a guess, of course, I
- 4:04Speaker 2: know why any gang members might now be burning Jewish
- 4:08Speaker 2: targets as well, posers Muslim heroes maybe attract foot soldiers
- 4:15Speaker 2: from other milism crime gangs, or maybe please the people
- 4:19Speaker 2: protecting them in Muslim countries, or could they have been
- 4:24Speaker 2: recruited by some country to create havoc here so it
- 4:30Speaker 2: could be Irun In fact, you know, the head of
- 4:33Speaker 2: Britain's m I five last year said there had been
- 4:37Speaker 2: twenty Iranian backplots targeting United Kingdom citizens and residents since
- 4:43Speaker 2: the start of twenty twenty two twenty and in these plots,
- 4:47Speaker 2: Uranian state actors make extensive use of criminals as proxies,
- 4:52Speaker 2: from international drug traffickers to low level crooks and indeed investigators.
- 4:58Speaker 2: In Germany and France September seed Iranian agents acted through
- 5:03Speaker 2: European drug traffickers to spy on Jews in France and Germany.
- 5:12Speaker 2: But like I SAIDFP Commissioner isn't going to come in
- 5:16Speaker 2: on all that. I'm guessing he's saying the minimum he
- 5:19Speaker 2: needs to say to, you know, shake the tree and
- 5:22Speaker 2: see what flies out, what messages get sent out. I
- 5:25Speaker 2: don't know now if his theory sounds a little bit
- 5:30Speaker 2: out there to you. Hear this from the new Southwest
- 5:33Speaker 2: premier who seem to suggest again that some of these
- 5:36Speaker 2: attacks are not just the work of local scumbags acting alone.
- 5:41Speaker 4: This is not just malicious damage or random graffiti, as
- 5:45Speaker 4: appalling as that would be if it was racially motivated.
- 5:48Speaker 5: These are sophisticated attacks.
- 5:53Speaker 2: But however, glad Albanism may be about this theory that
- 5:57Speaker 2: foreign players are behind the worst that or at least
- 6:00Speaker 2: Australians overseas. Who knows he is a fool if he
- 6:04Speaker 2: thinks it saves him because overseas actors haven't been bashing
- 6:09Speaker 2: Jews in our streets or screaming abuse the Jews outside synagogues,
- 6:13Speaker 2: or chanting where's the Jews outside the Sydney Opera house?
- 6:17Speaker 2: Or preaching jew hatred in mosques here, or menacing Jewish
- 6:21Speaker 2: students universities, or abusing Jewish artists. Are performances and in
- 6:26Speaker 2: a thousand different ways, making Jews feel persecuted like never
- 6:30Speaker 2: before in Australia. And even these overseas actors, if they
- 6:37Speaker 2: have been organized in the burnings of synagogues, they now
- 6:40Speaker 2: may well be Australians as well, some potentially from families
- 6:45Speaker 2: we should never have let my grade hear importing hatreds
- 6:49Speaker 2: that our politicians didn't understand or wouldn't admit. No, it's
- 6:55Speaker 2: true that not everyone chose so far with anti submitted
- 6:57Speaker 2: attacks appears to be from Muslim or the Middle East,
- 6:59Speaker 2: but the conflict is born there. But I don't think
- 7:06Speaker 2: how an easy understands how it's making all this worse.
- 7:11Speaker 2: I think he should have known it fifteen months ago,
- 7:14Speaker 2: on the very day that hamaslaughter at twelve hundred Jews
- 7:18Speaker 2: that we are here too in a war to defend
- 7:21Speaker 2: Western civilization. Albanies wouldn't see it. Maybe it's too greedy
- 7:28Speaker 2: for votes of Muslims and the hard left. He betrayed
- 7:31Speaker 2: israeling in ourther nations he urges rather stop fighting for
- 7:34Speaker 2: its survival. He gave tourism visas to three thousand Palestinians
- 7:38Speaker 2: from Jew hating Gaza, and he kept through things like
- 7:41Speaker 2: that and more, legitimizing the Jew haters by attacking Israel,
- 7:46Speaker 2: helping to demonize it. And now you can only tut
- 7:50Speaker 2: tut about the way people are expressing that hatred and
- 7:54Speaker 2: scramble like crazy again today to dodge responsibility, like today,
- 8:03Speaker 2: denying what I told you last night, that this government
- 8:06Speaker 2: was actually going to send Senate President Sue Lines to
- 8:08Speaker 2: Poland for the eighteenth anniversary the liberation Walschwitz, the camp
- 8:12Speaker 2: with Nazis murdered a million Jews. I mean, can you
- 8:15Speaker 2: believe it sending Sue Lines when she's campaigned against Israel,
- 8:19Speaker 2: accused of apartheid, accused her of war crimes, and called
- 8:22Speaker 2: this creation of catastrophe. I mentioned all this last night,
- 8:28Speaker 2: oh No, said Albanezy. Today scar News had got that
- 8:32Speaker 2: all wrong. Lanes was going to lead this delegation. Probably
- 8:36Speaker 2: isn't going at all.
- 8:39Speaker 3: I approve our international travel Penny Wong will lead the delegation,
- 8:45Speaker 3: accompanied by Mark Dreyfuss. The reports were wrong. The person
- 8:51Speaker 3: leading the delegation to Oswitz is our Foreign Minister, Penny Wong.
- 8:57Speaker 2: He had no idea, our minister, how we had come
- 9:01Speaker 2: to report such a silly story. How would it god out?
- 9:09Speaker 3: I have no idea where that came from.
- 9:14Speaker 2: Well, this is bizarre because it's Kamen read and here
- 9:16Speaker 2: at Sky News as reporter has done some great reporting
- 9:19Speaker 2: on This was actually a memo from Sneer Chatterjee, the
- 9:22Speaker 2: first assistant secretary from Albanize's Department of Home Affairs that
- 9:26Speaker 2: actually listed to Lines as the head of the delegation listened,
- 9:30Speaker 2: a staff member of hers also going while andrefus not
- 9:34Speaker 2: even mentioned Lines, was going suddenly not honestly, just be
- 9:42Speaker 2: honest with this prime minister. But since alban Ezi started
- 9:48Speaker 2: the show with Albanize quoting the strain Federal Police, let's
- 9:52Speaker 2: hear one more thing from them to sum it all up.
- 9:56Speaker 2: His former AFP Detective Superintendent David Krag, who today summed
- 10:02Speaker 2: up Albanezi's leadership in this crisis.
- 10:06Speaker 5: Are you saying this federal government has allowed this sort
- 10:09Speaker 5: of hate speech to fester?
- 10:12Speaker 6: I'm saying that I've done a six different prime ministers
- 10:16Speaker 6: in the Australian Federal Police, a lot of my time
- 10:18Speaker 6: in Cana terrorism, and I've never seen such a jelly
- 10:21Speaker 6: George Spino's response to hatred and UnAustralian behavior by a
- 10:27Speaker 6: prime minister.
- 10:30Speaker 2: Can anyone say that man is wrong? Joining me is
- 10:38Speaker 2: James Patterson, the Opposition's Home Affairs spokesman, James Patterson, thanks
- 10:43Speaker 2: for joining me. The Prime minister says we were wrong
- 10:46Speaker 2: to report that it had picked Sue Lines an anti
- 10:49Speaker 2: Israel campaign that represented at Ulschwitz where a million Jews
- 10:53Speaker 2: were murdered, which seems highly inappropriate. For her to be there.
- 10:57Speaker 2: Do you believe that he did know where anything about it?
- 11:00Speaker 2: And as the story is wrong.
- 11:03Speaker 7: No, I think the Prime Minister is being dishonest. Yet again,
- 11:06Speaker 7: your colleague Cameron has the facts in black and white
- 11:09Speaker 7: an email from the Department of Home Affairs dated in
- 11:11Speaker 7: December last year, which named the President of the Senate,
- 11:14Speaker 7: Sue Lyones, as the delegation leader and even named a
- 11:17Speaker 7: member of her staff who would be accompanying her along
- 11:20Speaker 7: with other delegation members. It seems very clear that the
- 11:23Speaker 7: government made a bad decision, that they regretted it, and
- 11:26Speaker 7: they're now trying to cover up their tracks. And it
- 11:28Speaker 7: is a shocking decision because Sue Lines is one of
- 11:30Speaker 7: the most anti Israel MPs in the Australian Parliament. But
- 11:35Speaker 7: the government's backup plan is not much better. I can
- 11:37Speaker 7: tell you that the decision to send the Foreign Minister
- 11:40Speaker 7: Pennywong has gone down almost as badly with the Australian
- 11:43Speaker 7: Jewish community as Sue Lyones has, because, of course, Penny
- 11:46Speaker 7: Wong has led the international vilification of the State of
- 11:50Speaker 7: Israel while it has been defending itself from a listed
- 11:53Speaker 7: terrorist organization that conducted the worst atrocity against Jews since
- 11:57Speaker 7: the Holocaust.
- 12:00Speaker 2: Then again, you'd be hard put to find anyone in
- 12:02Speaker 2: this government that has been a friend of the Jewish
- 12:06Speaker 2: community in Australian senior enough to represent the government today. Schwitz.
- 12:10Speaker 2: It is just such a scandal, it's a disgrace. Meanwhile,
- 12:15Speaker 2: the Australian Federal Police and Anthony Abernezi have said today
- 12:20Speaker 2: that overseas actors may be behind some of this anti
- 12:23Speaker 2: Jewish terrorism here. Does that seem credible.
- 12:27Speaker 7: Well, it's theoretically possible. It's certainly something that an overseas
- 12:30Speaker 7: actor might be willing to do, but it's not something
- 12:33Speaker 7: that should be put into the media without very solid foundation,
- 12:36Speaker 7: without strong intelligence and strong evidence, and from what I understand,
- 12:39Speaker 7: that does not appear to be the case. And putting
- 12:42Speaker 7: this out here today has struck incredible fear in the
- 12:45Speaker 7: hearts of the Jewish community. I have been contacted by
- 12:48Speaker 7: multiple members of the community to ask me whether or
- 12:51Speaker 7: not the IRGC, the Islamic Revolutionary Guard Corps of Iran,
- 12:55Speaker 7: is trying to kill Australian Jews as a result of
- 12:58Speaker 7: this public statement. Now, I think that's a responsibilitink that's dangerous,
- 13:01Speaker 7: that this speculation has been allowed to put out there,
- 13:03Speaker 7: and the Prime Minister does need to be more upfront
- 13:05Speaker 7: about what he knows, when he found out about it,
- 13:08Speaker 7: and what he's doing about it to make sure that
- 13:10Speaker 7: our community here Australia is safe.
- 13:14Speaker 2: Now, my guest show I call it that is that
- 13:18Speaker 2: they're probably looking at criminal gains middle Eastern criminal gains,
- 13:25Speaker 2: but Middle Eastern as an Australian Middle Eastern, and that Iran,
- 13:30Speaker 2: who knows Iran might have hard it. In fact, Iran
- 13:34Speaker 2: overseas as reportedly used criminal games already in Britain, France
- 13:37Speaker 2: and Germany's if it's done that here as well, what
- 13:43Speaker 2: does it mean how should we react?
- 13:46Speaker 7: Well, it means that the Prime Minister's weak and slow
- 13:48Speaker 7: response to this crisis would be even worse than we
- 13:50Speaker 7: thought it was, because he wouldn't have just failed to
- 13:53Speaker 7: deal with a domestic terrorism crisis, but potentially an international
- 13:57Speaker 7: state sponsored terrorism crisis on his watch at targeting the
- 14:01Speaker 7: Australian Jewish community. It means the response from him should
- 14:04Speaker 7: have been even tougher and stronger and swifter because it's
- 14:08Speaker 7: the most serious national security crisis we've faced outside of wartime.
- 14:12Speaker 7: It's the most serious peacetime security crisis we would have faced.
- 14:15Speaker 7: And does the government give you any sense that they're
- 14:18Speaker 7: treating it with that level of seriousness, that they're putting
- 14:20Speaker 7: that level of resources or energy behind this task. I mean,
- 14:23Speaker 7: he had to be convinced to hold a national cabinet,
- 14:26Speaker 7: and even when he finally agreed to do so, the
- 14:29Speaker 7: only outcome was a new database tracking anti Semitic incidents.
- 14:32Speaker 7: We already have databases tracking anti Semitic incidents, and that's
- 14:35Speaker 7: not going to stop terrorists blowing up synagogues or childcare centers.
- 14:40Speaker 2: I'm just wondering if he can if it turns out
- 14:44Speaker 2: in fact that it is true that some of the
- 14:46Speaker 2: worst attacks have been caused by people overseas hiring maybe
- 14:53Speaker 2: criminal gains here or just low lives to torch Jewish
- 14:58Speaker 2: buildings or whatever. If that does prove the case, does
- 15:02Speaker 2: that mean then that you can't keep blaming the worst
- 15:05Speaker 2: attacks in Albanesi's week leadership.
- 15:09Speaker 7: No, Andrew, because strong action and deterrence could help have
- 15:12Speaker 7: rented this in the first place, and could still help
- 15:15Speaker 7: prevent further attacks like this happening as well. Because even
- 15:18Speaker 7: if people are being paid to do this by foreign actors.
- 15:21Speaker 7: They still fear the consequences of the law, and locking
- 15:24Speaker 7: them away with strong mandatory minimum sentences would not only
- 15:28Speaker 7: send a strong deterrence effect to those people, but would
- 15:31Speaker 7: also help get them off the streets and remove the
- 15:34Speaker 7: danger that they pose to the community. So I think
- 15:37Speaker 7: it would be an even further and more serious indictment
- 15:40Speaker 7: on the Prime Minister's weakness if this is in fact
- 15:42Speaker 7: the case.
- 15:45Speaker 2: Senator James Patterson, thank you so much indeed for your time.
- 15:48Speaker 2: Thanks Andrew, huge new deal on day two. But Antony
- 15:54Speaker 2: Albanezi has his election campaign already run off the road.
- 16:02Speaker 2: So when you see the leadership that Donald Trump has
- 16:04Speaker 2: offered America in just the first two days, you watch
- 16:08Speaker 2: and weep. Why can't we have some of that here
- 16:13Speaker 2: here in Australia. Our politicians are spending billions billions to
- 16:16Speaker 2: get rid of oil and gas and just making us poor.
- 16:21Speaker 2: In America, Trump's going the other way. Yesterday scrapped restrictions
- 16:24Speaker 2: on gas exploration, as I told you, quit the Paris
- 16:26Speaker 2: Agreement to cut emissions. Today got three tech billionaires to
- 16:32Speaker 2: say that we're now investing five hundred billion dollars US
- 16:37Speaker 2: dollars in artificial intelligence, which needs massive amounts of electricity.
- 16:43Speaker 8: Together, these world leading technology giants are announcing the formation
- 16:49Speaker 8: of Stargate.
- 16:50Speaker 2: So put that name down in your.
- 16:51Speaker 8: Books, because I think you're going to hear a lot
- 16:54Speaker 8: about it in the future. A new American company that
- 16:57Speaker 8: will invest five hundred billion dollars at least in AI
- 17:01Speaker 8: infrastructure in the United States and very very quickly, moving
- 17:06Speaker 8: very rapidly, creating over one hundred thousand American jobs almost immediately.
- 17:11Speaker 2: Thank you, mister President. We certainly couldn't do this without you.
- 17:14Speaker 2: This is the beginning of gold Age. We wouldn't have
- 17:17Speaker 2: decided unless you won.
- 17:18Speaker 1: We wouldn't be able to do this without you, mister President.
- 17:22Speaker 2: The AI they were talking about is particularly for health,
- 17:26Speaker 2: Larry Ellison explained. It includes using this is unbelievable, using
- 17:30Speaker 2: artificial intelligence through identify cancers very early, just from fragments
- 17:35Speaker 2: of the cancer in a simple blood test, then design
- 17:39Speaker 2: a genome sequence of that cancer, of that tumor, and
- 17:45Speaker 2: then work out a vaccine, design a vaccine against that
- 17:49Speaker 2: cancer that is specific to you, plus make it in
- 17:54Speaker 2: just forty eight hours. I mean, this is absolutely massive,
- 18:00Speaker 2: but it needed giant amounts of electricity that you will
- 18:05Speaker 2: not get from wind and solar. Trump rammed home that message.
- 18:10Speaker 8: I'm going to help a lot through emergency declarations because
- 18:15Speaker 8: we have an emergency. We have to get this stuff built,
- 18:18Speaker 8: So they have to produce a lot of electricity, and
- 18:21Speaker 8: we'll make it possible for them to get that production
- 18:24Speaker 8: done very easily.
- 18:26Speaker 2: Joined me is the political panel, Camera Milner Forma, chief
- 18:28Speaker 2: of Stuff, the labor leader, Bill Short now director of
- 18:31Speaker 2: g XO Strategies, and Michael Costa, former New South Wales
- 18:36Speaker 2: Labor Treasurer Cameron. Here's the Trump effect happening right before
- 18:41Speaker 2: our eyes. And to me, the difference with Australia is frightening.
- 18:45Speaker 2: There they're building the future. Here we're into decline.
- 18:50Speaker 9: Well that's right, and let's put aside the fact that
- 18:53Speaker 9: some people have got to view about Trump. He was
- 18:55Speaker 9: democratically elected and overwhelmingly democratically elected. He's now implementing that mandate.
- 19:00Speaker 9: So you know, full full marks to Trump in terms
- 19:03Speaker 9: of getting out there and getting it done as quickly
- 19:05Speaker 9: as humanly possible. But the good thing is there.
- 19:07Speaker 2: Was an election.
- 19:08Speaker 9: There's election that elected to Donald Trump, and this year
- 19:11Speaker 9: Ethie Albanez can't hide any longer. He can't double around
- 19:14Speaker 9: any longer. You can't slip in slide Andrew. Judgment day
- 19:17Speaker 9: is coming for Albow, but a March April or May.
- 19:19Speaker 9: We've got election coming up in Australia too, and we've
- 19:22Speaker 9: going to vote for a strong leader in difficult times,
- 19:25Speaker 9: just the way America did.
- 19:28Speaker 2: Michael. There was a little bit of I think slippery
- 19:30Speaker 2: slady going on there, because clearly you don't come up
- 19:33Speaker 2: with the five hundred billion dollars of promise the investment
- 19:36Speaker 2: just two days after as Trumps sworn in, or even
- 19:40Speaker 2: in the couple of months since the election. He did
- 19:44Speaker 2: say he'd been talking to these guys for months. But
- 19:47Speaker 2: clearly key to this is more electricity, and that's going
- 19:52Speaker 2: to be the difference. They're racing for more electricity, we're
- 19:55Speaker 2: racing to a system where there's not enough of it.
- 19:58Speaker 10: No, there's no doubt about that. And generally, I mean,
- 20:02Speaker 10: I'm still a skeptic about some of the Trump's policies.
- 20:04Speaker 10: I've got a big rank about that. But generally the world,
- 20:08Speaker 10: you know, as a sense of relief at the moment,
- 20:10Speaker 10: we've stepped out of dementia award we've been in for
- 20:13Speaker 10: the last four years, and clearly there's some movement, and
- 20:16Speaker 10: you're absolutely right.
- 20:18Speaker 1: These tech entrepreneurs would have been working on these programs for.
- 20:22Speaker 10: Years and they would have probably done it with an
- 20:24Speaker 10: incoming democratic institution as well.
- 20:27Speaker 1: But remember the contrast is very clear.
- 20:30Speaker 10: You know, you've got AI are driven by nuclear energy primarily,
- 20:36Speaker 10: and we know that because they're reopening Three Mile Island.
- 20:38Speaker 10: Microsoft is doing that. Google's building the small nuclear reactors
- 20:42Speaker 10: that Bowen's out there trashing around the world. And look
- 20:45Speaker 10: at our contrasts. We're building, you know, the future made
- 20:48Speaker 10: in China proposal that Charmers is running around with, and
- 20:52Speaker 10: we're talking about quantum computers that don't exist, the basic
- 20:55Speaker 10: infrastructure doesn't exist, driven.
- 20:56Speaker 1: By green hydrogen that doesn't exist. You know, kind of dramatic.
- 21:00Speaker 10: Contrast between sky ideology in the sky and practical solutions
- 21:07Speaker 10: on the ground.
- 21:10Speaker 2: So true, you put it so well, Building something a
- 21:15Speaker 2: concept that doesn't exist with an energy source that doesn't exist,
- 21:19Speaker 2: I mean, what on Earth is going on? But listen,
- 21:22Speaker 2: I've got to Cameron give a big tick to the
- 21:25Speaker 2: Albanezi government. Is one good sign that Foreign Minutes of
- 21:29Speaker 2: Penny one did today get a meeting with Trump's new
- 21:31Speaker 2: Secretary of State Marco Rubio to talk about defense, why
- 21:35Speaker 2: Trump shouldn't hit US with tariffs. And this is access
- 21:38Speaker 2: to Rubio on his first full day in the job.
- 21:41Speaker 2: That has to be a real plus. What does it
- 21:43Speaker 2: tell you.
- 21:46Speaker 9: Well, I think it means that Kevin Rudd's been working
- 21:48Speaker 9: over time since since November. I mean, Kevin Rudds knows
- 21:52Speaker 9: how to use the political lubricant to greeze the wheels.
- 21:55Speaker 9: So I think full marks the Ambassador rut fact you're
- 21:58Speaker 9: getting on and doing the job for Australia. Good to
- 22:00Speaker 9: see that we've got that entrede with Rubio. But let's
- 22:03Speaker 9: see the proof of the pudding and let's see what
- 22:05Speaker 9: President Trump decides to do in terms of tariffs.
- 22:09Speaker 2: Optim and Michael, oh.
- 22:11Speaker 1: Look, I don't think Kevin Rudds had anything to do
- 22:13Speaker 1: with this.
- 22:13Speaker 10: I mean the bottom line is Australia has two very
- 22:18Speaker 10: strong positives in relation to the US. Firstly, the US
- 22:21Speaker 10: runs a trade surplus with Australia, but don't forget that
- 22:23Speaker 10: it's in their interests to ensure that they keep that
- 22:26Speaker 10: trade surplus. And secondly, I mean we are critical to
- 22:30Speaker 10: the US defense alliance and certainly.
- 22:32Speaker 1: They're critical to us, but they need us.
- 22:34Speaker 10: We've got installations here all over Australia that are part
- 22:38Speaker 10: of the Five Eyes. In addition, we're working together with
- 22:41Speaker 10: them on the defense of the South China Sea. I
- 22:43Speaker 10: think they're the two important things. Trump's always had a
- 22:45Speaker 10: reasonable soft spot for Australia, and I think that's independent
- 22:48Speaker 10: of Kevin rud.
- 22:52Speaker 2: Cameron. This is your first time on the show for
- 22:55Speaker 2: the year, so glad to have you back. The thank
- 22:58Speaker 2: you election likewise that's coming up is less than three
- 23:02Speaker 2: months away. Okay, Albaniz, he started the year early earlier
- 23:06Speaker 2: than you did. How is he handling the start of
- 23:09Speaker 2: this critical election year? Having looked, for instance, now today's
- 23:15Speaker 2: controversies about who's the sent to Auschwitz of all things.
- 23:22Speaker 9: Well, look, I don't think he started the year well
- 23:24Speaker 9: on anti Semitism, not at all. I mean he's been
- 23:26Speaker 9: brought kicking and screaming to this National Cabinet meeting only yesterday,
- 23:30Speaker 9: and again it was kind of a half baked idea.
- 23:32Speaker 9: It wasn't actually dealing with the perpetrayers. It wasn't seeing
- 23:34Speaker 9: them to jail, It wasn't cracking down hard on the
- 23:37Speaker 9: way we actually need him to as the Prime Minis
- 23:39Speaker 9: of Australia. But no, the problem for Albanie, the problem
- 23:41Speaker 9: for Labor is the more voters see him, the more
- 23:43Speaker 9: they don't like it. I mean, you look at the
- 23:44Speaker 9: polls they're coming out. This is not some Christmas bounce
- 23:47Speaker 9: that should have been occurring here. Albo's been out campaigning
- 23:50Speaker 9: and voters have been seeing him and that's a huge
- 23:52Speaker 9: problem for Labor going forward. As they go to the election,
- 23:56Speaker 9: voters are reminded of what they didn't like in twenty
- 23:58Speaker 9: four reminded what they had broken promises from the last election.
- 24:02Speaker 9: And let's not forget Albo's best week in the twenty
- 24:05Speaker 9: twenty two campaign was when he had COVID was a
- 24:07Speaker 9: home on the couch with Toto.
- 24:11Speaker 2: Michael Kossuh.
- 24:15Speaker 10: I mean, certainly I agree with the analysis of Albo,
- 24:17Speaker 10: and he's always been weak as a leader. He's never
- 24:19Speaker 10: been a leader. However, I think this is deeper than Albo.
- 24:22Speaker 10: This is all of their policies. They're crazy policies that
- 24:26Speaker 10: are effectively economic vandalism.
- 24:28Speaker 1: And you can start with the Treasurer on that.
- 24:30Speaker 10: You know, public sector wages, the pressure on the budget,
- 24:34Speaker 10: the fact that that's feeding into the cost of living
- 24:37Speaker 10: and the inability of interest.
- 24:39Speaker 1: Rates to come down.
- 24:40Speaker 10: Then you've got bowing on energy, which we just discussed,
- 24:42Speaker 10: and then you know the legacy of Burke in ir
- 24:44Speaker 10: which is making all of our industries, particularly small businesses,
- 24:48Speaker 10: struggle to survive. I think it's the whole package. You know,
- 24:51Speaker 10: if the economic stuff was going well at even as weak.
- 24:56Speaker 1: As he iss, would survive. But it's not going well,
- 24:58Speaker 1: and he's in serious trouble.
- 25:01Speaker 2: Michael Cossa camer Milner. Great to have you back. Thank
- 25:05Speaker 2: you so much for your time after the break, Trump's
- 25:08Speaker 2: first brawl with journalists only two days in and a
- 25:13Speaker 2: bishop as well. Plus more anti Trump derangement. How the
- 25:17Speaker 2: media is lying about Elon must supposedly Nazi salute at
- 25:22Speaker 2: a Trump rally. This is a strangers in it. I mean,
- 25:30Speaker 2: didn't the Democrats and a lot of journalists warn us
- 25:33Speaker 2: that Donald Trump would be a dictator on day one
- 25:37Speaker 2: and start arresting his enemies. You mean they lied to
- 25:41Speaker 2: us again about here? It have the same all over again.
- 25:47Speaker 2: Trump has a genius for making his enemies go nuts
- 25:51Speaker 2: and hysterical and a little bit dictatorial themselves. You take
- 25:55Speaker 2: the Episcopalian bishop of the Washington National Cathedral. This woman
- 25:59Speaker 2: who is angry eyes might just tell you a bit
- 26:01Speaker 2: about politics. She abused the position at the poolpit to
- 26:04Speaker 2: give Donald Trump a political lecture. She's above. In this
- 26:10Speaker 2: screen you're going to see and Vice President Vance and
- 26:13Speaker 2: Trump's reaction you will see below.
- 26:17Speaker 11: I ask you.
- 26:19Speaker 12: To have mercy upon the people in our country who
- 26:23Speaker 12: are scared. Now. There are gay, lesbian, and transgender children
- 26:30Speaker 12: in Democratic, Republican and independent families, some who fear for
- 26:38Speaker 12: their lives.
- 26:42Speaker 2: There's more of the saying. Really at Trump's press conference
- 26:45Speaker 2: today is second in two days, mind you, when Joe
- 26:49Speaker 2: Barden gave almost none. So you think journals would at
- 26:52Speaker 2: least be grateful, that welcome this opening up, this new accountability.
- 26:57Speaker 2: But for some it was war all over again.
- 27:01Speaker 8: Their lives have been ruined and in medicare listen to
- 27:04Speaker 8: me for a second. Stop interrupting. We won this election
- 27:07Speaker 8: and a landslide because the American public is tired of
- 27:11Speaker 8: people like you that are just one sided, horrible people.
- 27:15Speaker 8: In terms of crime, you don't talk about all the
- 27:17Speaker 8: people that have been killed and what happens to those murderers.
- 27:23Speaker 2: But the absolute worst is the media left going crazy
- 27:27Speaker 2: about Trump's new best friend and advisory, Musk in a
- 27:30Speaker 2: events supposedly giving Nazi salutes a Trump's inauguration Rarey yesterday.
- 27:38Speaker 2: Here's how CNN presented it.
- 27:41Speaker 9: I just want to look at that salute that he
- 27:43Speaker 9: gave again. Just if anybody missed it, we'll just show
- 27:46Speaker 9: it again. He's just wrapped up here.
- 27:48Speaker 13: You can hear the.
- 27:50Speaker 1: All right, So we just showed that. We just showed that, right,
- 27:55Speaker 1: it's worth salute.
- 27:57Speaker 2: Democrat politicians went ape. Of course, Hil Hitler salute, said
- 28:01Speaker 2: Alexandria O Kajia Cortez. Democrat Senator Chris Evans, among others,
- 28:07Speaker 2: said the same.
- 28:09Speaker 14: What do you think of Elon Musk, perhaps the President's
- 28:14Speaker 14: most visible advisor, doing two Heil Hitler salutes last night
- 28:19Speaker 14: at the President's televi Is rally.
- 28:23Speaker 2: Let me show you now the full footage. Let me
- 28:25Speaker 2: expose the lie. Musk is actually pro Israel and he
- 28:30Speaker 2: met Israel's president relatives or Jewish hostages, and what CNN
- 28:35Speaker 2: left out shows that Musk was actually offering the crowd
- 28:39Speaker 2: there his heart.
- 28:42Speaker 1: Thank you for making it happen.
- 28:45Speaker 2: Thank you. My heart goes out to here, I mean
- 28:57Speaker 2: really joining me is Rondin. It'swer in Chief, Spectator's thread,
- 29:00Speaker 2: hosts of Outsiders here in sky News every Sunday at
- 29:04Speaker 2: nine am plus. This is new show by the Way
- 29:07Speaker 2: the World according to Rowan Dean on Fridays at seven
- 29:10Speaker 2: pm Rowan, great to see you again. First, that's sm
- 29:16Speaker 2: of Elon Musk. You know, all right, if you cut
- 29:20Speaker 2: the hem is short, looks like a Nazi salute. Clearly
- 29:24Speaker 2: is not a Nazi. He's a sympathizer of Israel's strange
- 29:29Speaker 2: Nazi So you've got to be deranged to think he
- 29:32Speaker 2: is one. And when you look at the context, I
- 29:36Speaker 2: mean really, it's clearly he's not intending to do anything
- 29:40Speaker 2: of the card. So are these journalists and politicians who
- 29:44Speaker 2: said he's giving a Nazi salute? Are they mad or
- 29:47Speaker 2: simply liars? Well, probably a bit of both.
- 29:51Speaker 11: But above all they are desperate. The Democrats, the left wing,
- 29:55Speaker 11: the work whatever you want to call them, crowd, They've
- 29:58Speaker 11: reached the very bottom of the barrel. There's nothing left
- 30:01Speaker 11: in their armory. They have absolutely nothing. It's taken them
- 30:05Speaker 11: eight years of throwing everything they possibly could from the
- 30:10Speaker 11: lowest sort of grubby insult to the full body of
- 30:15Speaker 11: court rooms and judges and law cases and everything. They've
- 30:19Speaker 11: tried to throw everything at Donald Trump, and now they've
- 30:23Speaker 11: got nothing. The American people have said, we're not interested
- 30:25Speaker 11: in your smears on Donald Trump. So what have they done.
- 30:27Speaker 11: They've got to turn to the next person. They tried
- 30:30Speaker 11: with JD. Vans, but the American public like him as well,
- 30:33Speaker 11: so they're now looking They can't attack Ramaswami because that
- 30:36Speaker 11: would be racist, obviously, so they're looking around. Oh, Elon Musk.
- 30:40Speaker 11: He's a high profile figure of Donald Trump's let's attack him.
- 30:44Speaker 11: And pretty much anything Elon Musks is going to do
- 30:48Speaker 11: will now come under savage attack from the left. Fortunately,
- 30:53Speaker 11: Elon is too big and too wealthy to care. And
- 30:55Speaker 11: this is the problem that Democrats have to call that
- 30:58Speaker 11: a Hitles salute was laughable. He was throwing his heart
- 31:01Speaker 11: out to the crowd, a dramatic gesture that they really
- 31:06Speaker 11: are not only scraping the bottom of the barrel for
- 31:09Speaker 11: their insults. The reality, Andrew, is that this sort of
- 31:15Speaker 11: stuff works with some people. So some people who want
- 31:19Speaker 11: to think that Donald Trump is the devil incarnate and
- 31:22Speaker 11: want to think that Bilon Musk is a Nazi, and
- 31:24Speaker 11: so on and so forth. They will just regurgitate what
- 31:27Speaker 11: they hear on the news. But then they will repeat
- 31:29Speaker 11: it as you said, showed those journalists doing, and they'll go, oh,
- 31:33Speaker 11: he's a Nazi's Nazi. But for the broad public of America,
- 31:37Speaker 11: they've heard this stuff over and over again and it
- 31:40Speaker 11: just shows. It just reinforces how correct they were to
- 31:44Speaker 11: vote for Donald Trump and his team.
- 31:47Speaker 2: I mean, it was strange Nazi. He's explained on TV.
- 31:51Speaker 2: I has got a pendent around his neck that a
- 31:55Speaker 2: mother of a hostage gave him a Jewish hostage being
- 31:58Speaker 2: held by Hamas, and he swore that he would never
- 32:01Speaker 2: remove it until the last hostage was released. It's a
- 32:05Speaker 2: very strange Nazi. That's, you know, carrying mementos praying for
- 32:09Speaker 2: the return of Jewish hostages. So when they say that
- 32:13Speaker 2: it's a Nazi salute, they must know this. I'm sure
- 32:16Speaker 2: most of those guys know this. They are lying about him,
- 32:20Speaker 2: They are lying. They just it's just so sick. But
- 32:23Speaker 2: then to this bishop lecturing Trump in what supposedly a
- 32:27Speaker 2: religious gathering, giving a political lecture. She went on and on,
- 32:31Speaker 2: here's more, I ask you to.
- 32:33Speaker 12: Have mercy, mister President, on those in our communities whose
- 32:37Speaker 12: children fear that their parents will be taken away, and
- 32:41Speaker 12: that you help those who are fleeing war zones and
- 32:43Speaker 12: persecution in their own lands to find compassion and welcome here.
- 32:51Speaker 12: Our God teaches us that we are to be merciful
- 32:55Speaker 12: to the stranger, for we were all one strangers in
- 33:01Speaker 12: this land.
- 33:04Speaker 2: For Heaven's sake, Ryan, He's not closing the border to
- 33:08Speaker 2: children fleeing persecution and war. It's closing the border to
- 33:13Speaker 2: adults walking across the Rio grande. Is she preaching the
- 33:16Speaker 2: gospel or abusing her position? And speaking abusing position? Why
- 33:20Speaker 2: do so many of the left do exactly that?
- 33:23Speaker 11: Exactly Well, what's the best part of that clip that
- 33:27Speaker 11: you just played, and in fact of the whole service
- 33:30Speaker 11: was the supreme self discipline of the entire Trump team family, JD. Vance,
- 33:38Speaker 11: all of them who kept straight faces and just narrowly
- 33:43Speaker 11: avoided kind of rolling their eyes and we'll get you know,
- 33:46Speaker 11: I'd have been up and out of there. Sorry, I
- 33:48Speaker 11: got you know, sorry, I've got another appointment. Now, I'd
- 33:52Speaker 11: have been gone. But no, they stayed. They kept their cool,
- 33:56Speaker 11: and you know, you could see JD. Vance was kind
- 33:58Speaker 11: of thinking, what is this? So the comedy element far
- 34:01Speaker 11: outweighed anything else on that, and I think again, the
- 34:07Speaker 11: only people who work walk away demean from that sort
- 34:10Speaker 11: of thing is unfortunately the Anglican Church itself for putting
- 34:14Speaker 11: such a clown in as bishop. But that's the woke
- 34:17Speaker 11: Anglican Church for you these days. And you know, there's
- 34:22Speaker 11: nothing wrong with, of course, the church talking to those
- 34:24Speaker 11: in power and those at the highest level in the
- 34:28Speaker 11: church saying, you know, he's the moral his Jesus teachings
- 34:31Speaker 11: and make sure you're ahering to them, et cetera, et cetera.
- 34:33Speaker 11: That's the role of the church. But the inauguration to
- 34:36Speaker 11: pick a policy and then to go straight in on
- 34:39Speaker 11: transgender stuff, which again I don't pretend to be a theologian,
- 34:43Speaker 11: but I'm pretty certain that there are aspects of religious
- 34:47Speaker 11: teachings that perhaps the lovely fragrant bishop might want to
- 34:52Speaker 11: read up again just to reize yourself with certain aspects.
- 35:00Speaker 2: But even ignoring that part, I mean to misrepresent the
- 35:05Speaker 2: Trump policies, like you know, transgender children now going to
- 35:09Speaker 2: be a fear of being killed under Donald Trump. I mean,
- 35:12Speaker 2: give me a break, give me child abuse. But I
- 35:17Speaker 2: know I agree with you, You're you're right. But to
- 35:21Speaker 2: one other thing, I mean, there's something serious I want
- 35:23Speaker 2: to touch on something I was discussed with the panel,
- 35:26Speaker 2: a difference. I showed earlier three tech billionaires saying they
- 35:31Speaker 2: were investing five hundred billion dollars US in an artificial
- 35:33Speaker 2: energy project because one of the reasons apparently Trump making
- 35:38Speaker 2: sure there's enough electricity for a start. Okay. Meanwhile, our
- 35:43Speaker 2: richest person, Gina Reinhardt, who has been a super patriot,
- 35:47Speaker 2: we all know that, sponsoring Australian athletes Rah Rah and
- 35:51Speaker 2: Australia all that kind of thing, she is now looking
- 35:54Speaker 2: for investment opportunities in America, saying she's looking to invest
- 35:59Speaker 2: billions because there's a new land of opportunity. After warning
- 36:03Speaker 2: for years the government here. Governments here were so anti
- 36:07Speaker 2: business that they were forcing companies to go overseas, and
- 36:11Speaker 2: now you see it even with her. What do you
- 36:13Speaker 2: make of.
- 36:13Speaker 1: This, Andrew?
- 36:15Speaker 11: It's heartbreaking. You have someone like Gina Reinhart, who you
- 36:19Speaker 11: know pretty much single handedly gave Jane Jim Chalmers his
- 36:23Speaker 11: surplus for the last couple of years through her iron
- 36:26Speaker 11: Ore and other mining profits and people like that Australia,
- 36:32Speaker 11: people like Gena Roinehart. Australia should be cherishing in the
- 36:35Speaker 11: same way that Donald Trump is cherishing his billionaires and entrepreneurs,
- 36:39Speaker 11: recognizing that we all benefit from their investments and their
- 36:46Speaker 11: hard work and the companies they build up. It's heartbreaking
- 36:49Speaker 11: to think that here in Australia we are so dumb,
- 36:51Speaker 11: so myopic, so stupid that the labor government is turning
- 36:56Speaker 11: its back, closing down all our great resource industries, putting
- 37:02Speaker 11: the money on these kind of the fake ideas like
- 37:04Speaker 11: green hydrogen, windmill, solar panels, all this rubbish, and we
- 37:08Speaker 11: are destroying the very prosperity that made this nation so great,
- 37:13Speaker 11: to the extent that the billionaires like Gina rein Hart
- 37:16Speaker 11: are going hmm, you know, America. That's where the action is,
- 37:19Speaker 11: That's where the money is to be made, that's where
- 37:22Speaker 11: the investments are guaranteed to return a profit. And Australia
- 37:26Speaker 11: increasingly is not living up to that. When you think
- 37:29Speaker 11: what we could be, andrew what we could be, and
- 37:32Speaker 11: what people like Gina Reinhart urging us to be, and
- 37:36Speaker 11: our governments just so stupidly turns its back on it.
- 37:41Speaker 2: Oh, absolutely it's just sensational. We have so much oil
- 37:46Speaker 2: and gas and uranium and coal, and for some strange
- 37:52Speaker 2: reason we're telling us as we can't use any of it.
- 37:54Speaker 2: I mean, it's just the most.
- 37:56Speaker 11: We even don't mind gold. Don't mind gold. If that
- 38:04Speaker 11: doesn't tell you how utterly moronic exactly, but we don't.
- 38:09Speaker 2: Want any Goaldine, thanks you to Gold, Thank you very much, Rondin.
- 38:16Speaker 2: After the break, Tennis Australia falls for a con and
- 38:20Speaker 2: so refuses to celebrate Australia Day. There's a con that
- 38:27Speaker 2: I think, really we it's a high time we need
- 38:30Speaker 2: to call it out. Tennis Australia, it's not going to
- 38:34Speaker 2: celebrate Australia and Sunday apart from playing the national anthem.
- 38:38Speaker 2: Other than that, no, you know, it's sure. It's got
- 38:41Speaker 2: all Abilities Day, and tomorrow is Women's and Girls' Day
- 38:45Speaker 2: and Friday is Pride Day for no Australia Day because
- 38:51Speaker 2: Tennis Australia reckons it's too divisive, and sure enough here
- 38:56Speaker 2: comes the first People's Assembly talk about divisive. Victoria's version
- 38:59Speaker 2: of the voice average alone claim to represent aberages. He's
- 39:02Speaker 2: only ten percent of whom actually voted for them. For it,
- 39:06Speaker 2: saying the date must change because the days are reminded
- 39:11Speaker 2: of the beginning of colonization, dispossession as systemic oppression. So
- 39:17Speaker 2: here's what Santa's Australia doesn't get. If Australia really does
- 39:21Speaker 2: represent colonization, dispossession and systemic oppression, there is absolutely no
- 39:26Speaker 2: date on the calendar where Australia could ever be celebrated
- 39:30Speaker 2: by them or anyone else, which means you either do
- 39:34Speaker 2: celebrate it on January twenty sixth, or you never celebrated
- 39:37Speaker 2: at any day at all. None. It's an effective boycott
- 39:42Speaker 2: for the rest of our lives. And Tennis Australation realized
- 39:45Speaker 2: then that if it keeps submitted to this, it is
- 39:48Speaker 2: in fact against any celebration of this country at any
- 39:52Speaker 2: time it's being played, and so must end the ban,
- 39:56Speaker 2: joining me 'daniel Wilde, Deputy executive director of These Student
- 39:59Speaker 2: of Public Affairs, Gementonnini, founder of GT Communications and columns
- 40:03Speaker 2: with Australia, I don't get this. You know, changing the day.
- 40:07Speaker 2: If you look at the country like Italy, which you
- 40:10Speaker 2: love to bits, it's got a pass which you could
- 40:13Speaker 2: point so many thingers Mussolini, the way that Romans conquered
- 40:18Speaker 2: most of the world and slaughtered people, the genocide of
- 40:21Speaker 2: the Gauls and things you don't see. There's some shamefaced
- 40:25Speaker 2: thing come a national days there? Why here?
- 40:29Speaker 5: Well, I think it's in fairness, a little bit of
- 40:32Speaker 5: a slightly different context there in terms of the Indigenous
- 40:35Speaker 5: people of Australia have a completely different story and connection
- 40:38Speaker 5: to land. However, to pick up on a point that
- 40:40Speaker 5: you had, Andrew, I want to take it a step
- 40:42Speaker 5: further and say to Tennis Australia, tennis is an English sport.
- 40:46Speaker 5: It's a colonial sport. It's the sport of the oppressor.
- 40:50Speaker 5: The oppressor. So if Tennis Australia is really so shamed
- 40:53Speaker 5: about Australia date, it really needs to shut itself down,
- 40:56Speaker 5: and tennis itself should be banned because it's really an
- 40:59Speaker 5: extrapolation of the tool of the oppressors. I mean, the
- 41:02Speaker 5: fact of this stuff, and like did over cricket, anything
- 41:05Speaker 5: that speaks to our colonial past, throw it in the bin.
- 41:09Speaker 5: That's the kind of logic these people work with. And
- 41:11Speaker 5: I think the other thing that is so disappointing about
- 41:14Speaker 5: these flare ups I'm going to call them, is because
- 41:17Speaker 5: they are so divisive. If Tennis Australia is simply celebrated
- 41:22Speaker 5: Australia Day on January twenty six, as the rest of
- 41:25Speaker 5: us will do, no one would bat an Eili. There's
- 41:28Speaker 5: never going to be everybody happy. And there are some
- 41:30Speaker 5: people I know who elect to go to work on
- 41:34Speaker 5: Australia Day and with the negotiation of their employer they
- 41:37Speaker 5: do that. I have no problem with that. That's called
- 41:39Speaker 5: being an adult. It's a person going I have a
- 41:42Speaker 5: deeply held belief about this day and as a result,
- 41:45Speaker 5: I would like to work on this day and you know,
- 41:48Speaker 5: take another day in lou that's a completely different matter.
- 41:52Speaker 5: This is a small cohort of people trying to engineer
- 41:56Speaker 5: something that the rest of the nation doesn't want. And
- 41:59Speaker 5: I say that with respect, but I also would point
- 42:01Speaker 5: out briefly that it's like, you know, it's like Italians,
- 42:04Speaker 5: it's like Indians, it's like any ethnicity. It's not one
- 42:09Speaker 5: homogeneous group of people with one singular view. This group
- 42:14Speaker 5: of people does not speak to all to the desires
- 42:17Speaker 5: of all Indigenoustralians. And we know that, Andrew, and there's.
- 42:22Speaker 2: All It's going to be someone that's going to complain,
- 42:23Speaker 2: and I don't know why we give into them. But
- 42:25Speaker 2: speaking of original owners of Italy, I mean, I'm not
- 42:28Speaker 2: sure the Sicilians totally agree about that. You know, there
- 42:33Speaker 2: are Italians like everyone else. They probably some still have
- 42:36Speaker 2: a resentment against Piedmont.
- 42:38Speaker 5: Probably I'm a northern or Andrew, so I don't. I
- 42:42Speaker 5: don't consider Sicily.
- 42:46Speaker 2: Yeah, well you're a conqueror. That that's the thing. There
- 42:48Speaker 2: we go, change the date, Daniel Wild.
- 42:53Speaker 13: Well, here we go again, Andrew. I mean I think
- 42:55Speaker 13: the CEO of Tennis Australia, Craig Tiley, should be sacked
- 42:58Speaker 13: for this. When are they going to get the message?
- 43:00Speaker 13: We've seen this before. We saw the former or the
- 43:03Speaker 13: outgoing CEO of Cricket Australia where he tried to cancel
- 43:07Speaker 13: Australia Day at the Gabba Test last year. He's on
- 43:09Speaker 13: his way out. The incoming CEO has said no, we're
- 43:12Speaker 13: going to back Australia Day.
- 43:13Speaker 2: Now.
- 43:13Speaker 13: We saw it with Brad Banducci at Wilworst. Well he's
- 43:16Speaker 13: gone now will Worse supports Australia Day. We've seen it
- 43:19Speaker 13: with Australia Venue Co who wanted to ban Australia Day
- 43:22Speaker 13: at its pubs. Well they backflipped within twenty four hours.
- 43:25Speaker 13: Steven Smith, the High Commissioner to the UK, well, he
- 43:28Speaker 13: wanted to cancel Australia Day in his context, and he
- 43:31Speaker 13: backflipped within twenty four hours. So you know, one of
- 43:34Speaker 13: these activists and the inner city elites going to get
- 43:36Speaker 13: the message. You were called Tennis Australia, it's in your name,
- 43:41Speaker 13: support our National Day. They're happy to take. They took
- 43:44Speaker 13: one hundred million dollars of taxpayer funds as a bailout
- 43:48Speaker 13: during COVID of Australian taxpayers and then they turn around
- 43:51Speaker 13: and do this, try to cancel our National Day. They
- 43:54Speaker 13: need to get a grip and understand that Australian has
- 43:56Speaker 13: had a gupful of this. If you're going to take
- 43:58Speaker 13: taxpayer funds, if you're to have Australia in your name,
- 44:01Speaker 13: if you're going to trade on the currency of our nation,
- 44:04Speaker 13: you better support our National Day or you're going to
- 44:06Speaker 13: be out the door quick.
- 44:09Speaker 2: Absolutely. Meanwhile, the Trump Revolution continues. Jemma, is just I
- 44:15Speaker 2: like this? This is sure Trump's style has ordered all
- 44:19Speaker 2: federal agencies to effectively dump the Diversity, Equity and Inclusion staff.
- 44:23Speaker 2: And isn't that a massive industry now put every single
- 44:28Speaker 2: one of them on paid administrative leave as of five
- 44:31Speaker 2: pm today US time. Is that something we need to
- 44:34Speaker 2: do here?
- 44:35Speaker 5: Well, it's a pretty Trumpian move, isn't it in terms
- 44:38Speaker 5: of go hard or go home. Look, I think the
- 44:41Speaker 5: old taking a step back, the old statement about where
- 44:44Speaker 5: America goes, the world follows is true. I do believe
- 44:48Speaker 5: the pendulum hug has swung away from this obsession with
- 44:52Speaker 5: the color of skin and a person's sexuality or gender
- 44:55Speaker 5: identity and all of those things. I've been an employer
- 44:58Speaker 5: for nearly twenty two years, Andrew, and have done my
- 45:01Speaker 5: best to employ on merit and in the industry that
- 45:04Speaker 5: I'm in, I find it very difficult to get blokes
- 45:08Speaker 5: to work. So I have a majority of women in
- 45:10Speaker 5: my team and it's been that way since day one,
- 45:12Speaker 5: simply because of the talent pool available, and you know,
- 45:16Speaker 5: Heaven helped me if I had to fill a fifty
- 45:18Speaker 5: percent male quota. I think this stream, as you say
- 45:23Speaker 5: it is an industry, is so out of touch with
- 45:26Speaker 5: everyday Australians and clearly every day Americans because they voted
- 45:29Speaker 5: for him. But it's out of touch with what everyday Australians.
- 45:32Speaker 5: I think value as part of our broader values set,
- 45:35Speaker 5: and that is live your life in peace, but don't
- 45:37Speaker 5: impose your values on me, and higher on merit. Everybody
- 45:41Speaker 5: gets a fair go, everybody gets the same opportunity. The
- 45:44Speaker 5: outcomes are dependent on talent and hard work and a
- 45:47Speaker 5: whole variety of things in the melting pot. But this
- 45:51Speaker 5: obsession with well, you know, are you a woman? Are
- 45:54Speaker 5: you a person of color?
- 45:55Speaker 2: Are you this? Are you that?
- 45:56Speaker 7: Are you?
- 45:57Speaker 11: You know?
- 45:57Speaker 1: It is?
- 45:58Speaker 5: It is a merry road to know where good and
- 46:01Speaker 5: the proof has been in the pudding.
- 46:03Speaker 2: There beautifully, said Daniel. It reminds me of the scene
- 46:09Speaker 2: a beautiful chapter in Hitchhuckers go to the Galaxy Douglas
- 46:13Speaker 2: Adams What If Trump, one of Musk's favorite books, where
- 46:17Speaker 2: they collect a rocket that say, you're going to create
- 46:20Speaker 2: a new civilization. We want people who clean the hygienus,
- 46:23Speaker 2: who clean the telephones and all these people and you
- 46:26Speaker 2: know hr people and now I guess a diversity inequity.
- 46:31Speaker 2: Fire him in a rocket and no one cares that
- 46:33Speaker 2: they don't come back. Is that what we need? Yeah?
- 46:38Speaker 13: It's not about analogy, is it? And I think the
- 46:40Speaker 13: gem is spot on. Anyone who actually interacts with the
- 46:42Speaker 13: real world and runs a business or a small business
- 46:45Speaker 13: knows that your first task is to find the best
- 46:47Speaker 13: working for the job. I mean, that's just common sense.
- 46:50Speaker 13: And I think you know, people and Australians and those
- 46:52Speaker 13: in the Western world are just so thoroughly over this.
- 46:55Speaker 13: The people might call it reverse discrimination or positive discrimination.
- 46:59Speaker 13: I've never run those terms because there's nothing positive about
- 47:02Speaker 13: discrimination at all, no matter which way it's going. And
- 47:05Speaker 13: people are over it that it's one of the best
- 47:06Speaker 13: person for the job, no matter what area of life
- 47:08Speaker 13: it's in. And I think the timing is right to,
- 47:11Speaker 13: you know, put a sword to all of this woke
- 47:13Speaker 13: nonsense and just get on with the job of finding
- 47:16Speaker 13: the right people. And you know, I think Trump is
- 47:18Speaker 13: speaking for the millions of people that voted for change.
- 47:21Speaker 13: You know, people want change, and they're going to get
- 47:23Speaker 13: a lot of change, and they're going to get it
- 47:25Speaker 13: very very fast.
- 47:28Speaker 2: Oh my gosh, it's so stunning what we're seeing already,
- 47:31Speaker 2: Jemma and Daniel, it's just unbelievable. Gemnton Any Daniel Wilde,
- 47:37Speaker 2: thank you very much both for your term. Viewer Bruce
- 47:43Speaker 2: points out something that he heard that I missed. Here's
- 47:49Speaker 2: our prime Minister's saying, well, listen, we've you know, we
- 47:53Speaker 2: really do want to send our best people to Auschwitz,
- 47:57Speaker 2: to the concentration camp to We're not anti Jewish, we're
- 48:02Speaker 2: really on board. And he can't pronounce the word Auschwitz.
- 48:05Speaker 2: Let's have a listen to see if you were at
- 48:08Speaker 2: Bruce is right.
- 48:10Speaker 3: The person leading the delegation to Oschwitz is our foreign minister,
- 48:17Speaker 3: he is.
- 48:17Speaker 2: It's not as Schwitz Oschwitz or whatever you said, promises Auschwitz.
- 48:23Speaker 2: That's it from me, and I want to thank all
- 48:25Speaker 2: the people that gave me their sympathy last night about
- 48:28Speaker 2: my dog, really really appreciated. Thank you so much. That's
- 48:33Speaker 2: it from me. Sherry Maxon up next. Thank you
