Transcript
- 0:02Welcome to Bible Chat, where we have devotional conversations
- 0:06rooted in Scripture and relevant for today, January 1st Stay
- 0:11planted, stay strong. Have you ever noticed how storms
- 0:14don't ask permission before they hit?
- 0:16One day things feel calm and the next you're dealing with
- 0:19pressure, temptation, insecurity, or decisions you
- 0:22never expected to face. And in those moments, what
- 0:25you're rooted in really shows. Proverbs chapter 1, verses one
- 0:29to seven, opens with a powerful reminder that God's wisdom isn't
- 0:33reserved for scholars, pastors, or people who have been walking
- 0:37with Him for decades. It says wisdom is given to offer
- 0:40prudence to the simple knowledge and discretion to the youth.
- 0:44That means God cares deeply about guiding you right where
- 0:47you are, not later, not when you're older, but now.
- 0:50Psalm 1 paints this unforgettable picture of a
- 0:53person who delights in God's instruction.
- 0:56It says that person is like a tree planted by streams of
- 0:59water, yielding fruit in season with leaves that do not wither.
- 1:03Trees don't panic when storms come.
- 1:06They don't uproot themselves. They stay planted.
- 1:08Their strength comes from what's beneath the surface.
- 1:11In the same way, when your life is rooted in God's Word, you
- 1:14don't have to fall apart every time life gets hard.
- 1:18You're being nourished constantly, even when you don't
- 1:20feel it. Being planted doesn't mean life
- 1:23is easy. It means you're connected to a
- 1:25source that keeps you alive, growing, and steady.
- 1:28In a world that constantly pushes shortcuts, trends, and
- 1:31quick fixes, God invites you into something deeper and
- 1:34stronger daily time in His Word, honest prayer, and choosing His
- 1:39wisdom over impulse may not always feel exciting, but over
- 1:42time they build a faith that can stand.
- 1:45You may not see fruit immediately, but growth is
- 1:47happening and when the right season comes, it will show.
- 1:50Let's pray. Heavenly Father, thank You for
- 1:53offering me wisdom and direction right where I am.
- 1:56Help me stay planted in Your Word, especially when life feels
- 1:59overwhelming. Strengthen my roots so I don't
- 2:02get shaken by pressure or fear. Teach me to trust that you are
- 2:05growing something good in me, even when I can't see it yet.
- 2:08In Jesus name, Amen. What if the ache you feel for
- 2:12more is actually God calling you deeper?

- 3:32Proverbs, chapter 1 Verses one to seven world English Bible.
- 3:37The proverbs of Solomon, the son of David, king of Israel.
- 3:40To know wisdom and instruction. To discern the words of
- 3:43understanding. To receive instruction in wise
- 3:46dealing in righteousness, justice, and equity.
- 3:49To give prudence to the simple knowledge and discretion to the
- 3:52young man, that the wise man may hear and increase in learning
- 3:57that the man of understanding may attain.
- 3:59To sound counsel. To understand a proverb in
- 4:01parables, the words and riddles of the wise.
- 4:04The fear of Yahweh is the beginning of knowledge, but the
- 4:07foolish despise wisdom and instruction.
- 4:10Psalm Chapter One World English Bible Blessed is the man who
- 4:14doesn't walk in the counsel of the wicked, nor stand on the
- 4:17path of sinners, nor sit in the seat of scoffers, but his
- 4:21delight is in Yahweh's law. On His law he meditates day and
- 4:25night. He will be like a tree planted
- 4:27by the streams of water that produces its fruit in its
- 4:30season, whose leaf also does not wither.
- 4:32Whatever he does shall prosper. The wicked are not so, but are
- 4:36like the chaff which the wind drives away.
- 4:39Therefore, the wicked shall not stand in the judgment, nor
- 4:42sinners in the congregation of the righteous.
- 4:44For Yahweh knows the way of the righteous, but the way of the
- 4:47wicked shall perish. Thanks for joining us on Bible
