- 0:00Speaker 1: It's more of Mark the Mark Simon Show on w
- 0:04Speaker 1: r Hey, some very bad news.
- 0:08Speaker 2: This Sunday is the end of daylight Saving time. You
- 0:14Speaker 2: go back to standard time. Sunday actually Saturday night, like
- 0:18Speaker 2: two in the morning. That means Sunday it'll be dark
- 0:21Speaker 2: out like at five point fifteen, five point thirty. This
- 0:25Speaker 2: is bad. This is bad. We gotta we gotta get
- 0:27Speaker 2: rid of this standard time. Just switch it the daylight
- 0:30Speaker 2: saving time. You know, it's already getting dark, like at
- 0:32Speaker 2: six fifteen, it's starting to get dark five fifteen. That's
- 0:37Speaker 2: not gonna be good. That's this Sunday. So remember Saturday night.
- 0:40Speaker 2: You you lose an hour again and hour you fall behind,
- 0:44Speaker 2: you lose an hour. You're gonna lose an hour of
- 0:47Speaker 2: sleep Sunday night. Hey. Also, this Sunday is the marathon.
- 0:50Speaker 2: The New York City Marathon is this Sunday. That's how
- 0:53Speaker 2: you know it's really well into the fall when you
- 0:56Speaker 2: see the marathon. That's this Sunday. So if you're planning
- 0:59Speaker 2: to come into New York City, you just remember traffic
- 1:02Speaker 2: nightmare all over the place because of the marathon. It's
- 1:05Speaker 2: for you know, all obviously the morning, but it goes
- 1:09Speaker 2: well into the afternoon, so you might own to be
- 1:11Speaker 2: driving around New York City on Sunday. Also, if you're
- 1:17Speaker 2: not convinced summer is over and we're really, really, really
- 1:21Speaker 2: into the fall. The Wolman Rink opened yesterday. The Woman's
- 1:26Speaker 2: Skating Rink opened yesterday. So you got the woman Rink.
- 1:30Speaker 2: I was at Bryant Park. I walked through their Wednesday.
- 1:33Speaker 2: They were building the rink. They weren't finished yet. But
- 1:35Speaker 2: the woman Rink is open in Central Park. That was
- 1:39Speaker 2: the first construction project where Donald Trump took over from
- 1:45Speaker 2: the government and did his own construction. Remember the Woman's
- 1:48Speaker 2: skating rink. The city had been trying to rebuild it
- 1:52Speaker 2: for ten years, ten years, and they were only halfway through,
- 1:57Speaker 2: and they were up to twenty five million, and Trump
- 2:00Speaker 2: went public and started yelling and screaming at Ed Kotch
- 2:03Speaker 2: in the city said, it's a slab of concrete, it's
- 2:06Speaker 2: an ice skating rink. It doesn't take ten years to build,
- 2:10Speaker 2: doesn't cost twenty five million. Well, he really went after
- 2:14Speaker 2: Cotch and they became lifelong enemies. But finally Kotch called
- 2:19Speaker 2: his bluff and Trump said, I'll build a rink in
- 2:21Speaker 2: six weeks. I'll pay for it. It'll cost nothing. And Trump,
- 2:26Speaker 2: you know, really got under Coatch's skin. Kotch called his bluff,
- 2:30Speaker 2: and sure enough Trump did it. Turned out the city
- 2:34Speaker 2: trying to build an ice skating they had no idea
- 2:35Speaker 2: how you build an ice skating rink. So they first
- 2:38Speaker 2: brought in a company from Miami that did air conditioning.
- 2:42Speaker 2: And ever the reason it took ten years. Everything they
- 2:44Speaker 2: did went wrong and they had to tear it up,
- 2:46Speaker 2: start over, tear it up, start over. They were using
- 2:49Speaker 2: the wrong kind of pipes, the wrong this, the wrong. This.
- 2:53Speaker 2: This is government. That's how government works. Trump, common sense
- 2:58Speaker 2: business guy, about how simple this was. Trump loves to
- 3:02Speaker 2: go to Madison Square Garden. He loves to watch basketball hockey.
- 3:06Speaker 2: And he noticed that you could go to Madison Square
- 3:09Speaker 2: Garden and they had a basketball court, and then you
- 3:12Speaker 2: could go two days later and they had a skating rink,
- 3:14Speaker 2: a world class hockey rink. So he called up Madison
- 3:18Speaker 2: Square Garden. It's pretty simple. How do you build a
- 3:21Speaker 2: rink like that? How do you do it so fast?
- 3:24Speaker 2: And they said, there's rink guys that build ice skating rinks.
- 3:27Speaker 2: The best one is in Montreal. We'll give you a number.
- 3:30Speaker 2: He called the guy. He came right down and said,
- 3:31Speaker 2: here's how you got to do it. Here's how you
- 3:33Speaker 2: build the rink. And they got it done. It was
- 3:36Speaker 2: pretty simple. Hey, one reason Trump did this, it wasn't
- 3:40Speaker 2: that he was just outraged about the city screwing up.
- 3:44Speaker 2: It was the main part of the view out of
- 3:47Speaker 2: Trump Tower. If you're in Trump Tower, that side of
- 3:50Speaker 2: the building, his office, his apartment, or any of the
- 3:52Speaker 2: apartments on that side, it looked right into Central Park
- 3:56Speaker 2: and for ten years they're looking at this hideous construction site.
- 3:59Speaker 2: So he wanted the rink finished one because it was
- 4:02Speaker 2: the right thing to do. Also just needed it for
- 4:05Speaker 2: his own building to fix things up. Hey, the mayoral race,
- 4:09Speaker 2: Hakim Jeffries is finally endorsed Zoran Mam Donnie. Now remember
- 4:15Speaker 2: Jeffries did not endorse him, didn't want to endorse him.
- 4:18Speaker 2: But same thing happened to him, that happened to Hokal,
- 4:21Speaker 2: happened to Schumer. The crazy nutjobs on the left, they
- 4:25Speaker 2: control the party now. They threatened Hakiem Jeffries, they threatened
- 4:29Speaker 2: to primary him if he doesn't endorse Mom Donni. This
- 4:33Speaker 2: is what's going on with Schumer. Now the rumor is,
- 4:36Speaker 2: the word is Schumer will give up. He will not
- 4:40Speaker 2: run again next year. Schumer most likely will not run
- 4:43Speaker 2: next year. He's having a terrible problem fundraising. In the
- 4:47Speaker 2: last period, AOC raised eleven million, Schumer raised like two
- 4:51Speaker 2: hundred and fifty thousand. So he's in big trouble. And
- 4:54Speaker 2: a word is he will announce at some point next
- 4:56Speaker 2: year he's not running, which will hand it to AOC
- 5:00Speaker 2: be the Senator. But the crazy left taking control of
- 5:03Speaker 2: the party. Hakeem Jeffreys terrified of them, so he came
- 5:09Speaker 2: out and endorsed Mom Donnie. They had this big Mom
- 5:12Speaker 2: Donnie rally, thirteen thousand people in a stadium. Now Cuomo
- 5:16Speaker 2: could never do that, but apparently Hokel was there and
- 5:19Speaker 2: she was getting booed and jeered by the crowd. They
- 5:23Speaker 2: were screaming at her to tax the rich. Well, first
- 5:26Speaker 2: of all, the rich pay all the taxes. Now the
- 5:29Speaker 2: top forty six percent pays like one no excuse me.
- 5:32Speaker 2: The top one percent pays forty six percent of the
- 5:35Speaker 2: tax In New York, the top ten percent pretty much
- 5:38Speaker 2: pays it all. So it was quite a rally. Bernie
- 5:42Speaker 2: Sanders AOC spoke and now again we don't know what
- 5:48Speaker 2: it means. We can't really figure out exactly what it means.
- 5:52Speaker 2: But turnout has been through the roof. Early voting turnout
- 5:56Speaker 2: is about five hundred percent higher than normal. That's a
- 6:01Speaker 2: good sign, I guess, unless it's all the Mom Donnie.
- 6:05Speaker 2: You know, the problem is, Mom Donnie is tapped into
- 6:07Speaker 2: Generation X, very young voters. Now you could try to
- 6:11Speaker 2: explain to them what's wrong with socialism and what's wrong
- 6:14Speaker 2: with letting the criminals loose. And you could try to
- 6:17Speaker 2: explain to them how bad it was in New York
- 6:19Speaker 2: until Guliani came and cleaned it up. You could try
- 6:21Speaker 2: to explain all this to them, But they're young. If
- 6:24Speaker 2: you're twenty five, this is before you were born. It's
- 6:27Speaker 2: like somebody telling you about what Calvin Coolidge did. It
- 6:29Speaker 2: doesn't mean anything to you. So they never saw it
- 6:31Speaker 2: with their own eyes. They never saw what these policies do.
- 6:34Speaker 2: You could tell them how bad socialism is, how it's
- 6:37Speaker 2: failed in all fifteen million experiments. They've never seen it.
- 6:42Speaker 2: They've been indoctrinated for years in these crazy This is
- 6:46Speaker 2: the problem with these colleges. The left wing took them
- 6:48Speaker 2: over years ago, indoctrinating kids into the most crazy socialist
- 6:53Speaker 2: loving nonsense, and they turned out generations and generations of socialists.
- 7:00Speaker 2: So it's not good. Not good. Hey, you know who
- 7:04Speaker 2: passed away over the weekend, June Lockhart. June Lockhart was
- 7:09Speaker 2: one hundred years old. You remember, she was the mother
- 7:11Speaker 2: and Lassie.
- 7:12Speaker 3: Lastiest part of this family, and she's just going to
- 7:14Speaker 3: have to learn to accept it. There's no room in
- 7:21Speaker 3: this house for two stubborn females.
- 7:26Speaker 2: For those of you who are under a thousand years old,
- 7:29Speaker 2: Lassie was the show when was it the fifties, late fifties,
- 7:32Speaker 2: early sixties, but was in reruns forever. I saw it
- 7:34Speaker 2: as a kid in reruns. It it was about this family
- 7:38Speaker 2: where the smartest one was the dog. You know, there
- 7:42Speaker 2: was father knows best about how the father's the wise
- 7:45Speaker 2: one in the family who GUIDs everybody. But this was
- 7:48Speaker 2: a show about the family was so dumb the dog
- 7:50Speaker 2: had to tell him what to do. The dog was
- 7:52Speaker 2: the boss. The dog was the leader. And this kid
- 7:55Speaker 2: what was his name, Timmy? It was his dog, and
- 7:58Speaker 2: this Timmy was the biggest Kluts had ever lived. He'd
- 8:01Speaker 2: fall down a well he'd get stuck in a fence,
- 8:03Speaker 2: he'd whatever it was, Lastie would go get help. And
- 8:08Speaker 2: June Lockhart was the mother. She was very prim and proper.
- 8:11Speaker 2: And then of course she was on Lost in Space.
- 8:13Speaker 2: Everybody remembers her from Lost in Space.
- 8:15Speaker 3: Major that thirty billion dollars is just as much my
- 8:17Speaker 3: money as it is yours. And I don't like to
- 8:19Speaker 3: waste it either, but I'd gladly waste a hundred times
- 8:22Speaker 3: that much to safeguard my family. Now I say we
- 8:25Speaker 3: turned back. Don't you have an opinion? No, I don't,
- 8:30Speaker 3: not until we've checked every component inside out and know
- 8:33Speaker 3: exactly how we stand. And then and then I'll let.
- 8:36Speaker 4: The computer make the final decision.
- 8:38Speaker 3: And will the computer also take into consideration a man's
- 8:40Speaker 3: love and concern for his family or has all that
- 8:44Speaker 3: been put into cold storage for the duration.
- 8:47Speaker 2: June Lockhart she passed away at one hundred. Now, as
- 8:49Speaker 2: you can hear the way she spoke, she was a
- 8:51Speaker 2: very prim and proper and a very formal woman. Now
- 8:57Speaker 2: in real life she was like a wild woman. She
- 8:59Speaker 2: was just the opp in real life. Yeah, yeah, I'm
- 9:02Speaker 2: supposed to know this, but in real life quite wild.
- 9:06Speaker 2: Here's one article apparently quite the rock and roller. She
- 9:09Speaker 2: loved rock and roll. Her dream was to meet David Bowie.
- 9:12Speaker 2: She was a huge fan. She had a real passion
- 9:16Speaker 2: for rock and roll. You know, some of those TV
- 9:19Speaker 2: moms were quite wild in a real life. I don't
- 9:24Speaker 2: want to mention any names Florence Anderson, but some of
- 9:27Speaker 2: them were a lot different off camera, and she was
- 9:31Speaker 2: one of them. But good for her. She lived to
- 9:33Speaker 2: be one hundred years old, pretty amazing, and passed away
- 9:37Speaker 2: this weekend at one hundred. Hey, if you watch those
- 9:41Speaker 2: crazy Sunday morning shows ABC, CBS Meet the Press, they're
- 9:45Speaker 2: the most corrupt, biased shows in the world. You watch
- 9:52Speaker 2: that Martha Radditts or that Jonathan carl These are the
- 9:54Speaker 2: most partisan, slanted fake news. And it's in that Kristen
- 9:59Speaker 2: Welker Meet the Press. So a Republican comes out, even
- 10:02Speaker 2: a very distinguished, a very brilliant Republican like a Scott Bessant,
- 10:08Speaker 2: and they ask him a question, always a rigged, totally slanted,
- 10:14Speaker 2: loaded question, and then as he starts to answer in
- 10:17Speaker 2: a very nice way, they start pounding away at him.
- 10:19Speaker 2: They start slapping him around, beating him up, yelling at him,
- 10:21Speaker 2: for whatever he says, and then they go to commercial.
- 10:25Speaker 2: Then they come back with the Democrat and they're so
- 10:28Speaker 2: nice to him. They're so polite. There's no follow up questions.
- 10:31Speaker 2: They just nod like bobbleheads when the Democrat talks. It's
- 10:33Speaker 2: like Jackal and Hyde, but they're so crazy biased. Well,
- 10:39Speaker 2: this Sunday morning on the CBS Morning show it's called
- 10:43Speaker 2: Face the Nation, something happened. It was a little different.
- 10:50Speaker 2: Hakeem Jeffries was the guest, the Democrat. And normally when
- 10:54Speaker 2: Hakeem Jeffries is on any of the Sunday shows, it's oh, yes, sir,
- 10:57Speaker 2: no sir, yes sir, thank you for your answer, Yes, sir.
- 11:00Speaker 2: Hakim Jefferies was on the CBS show and he was
- 11:02Speaker 2: spewing his usual you know, fake fake news talking, but
- 11:06Speaker 2: they started questioning him, they started drilling down on his answers.
- 11:11Speaker 2: This has never happened before on a Sunday show. Well,
- 11:14Speaker 2: the left went crazy online denouncing CBS. How dare you
- 11:19Speaker 2: ask a follow up question of Hakim Jeffries, How dare
- 11:22Speaker 2: you ask him to you know, criticize his answer? How
- 11:27Speaker 2: dare you actually really grill him? They've never seen this
- 11:31Speaker 2: on CBS. Now some think it might be maybe it
- 11:36Speaker 2: was just some weird outlier sort of a thing, but
- 11:39Speaker 2: some think most think this is Barry Weiss, the new
- 11:43Speaker 2: head of CBS News, who's trying to clean up the bias.
- 11:47Speaker 2: It could be she kind of, you know, arranged this,
- 11:51Speaker 2: or it could be the anchor of Face the Nation
- 11:55Speaker 2: worried about getting fired. It's trying to get with the
- 11:57Speaker 2: program to keep her job. But for the first time ever,
- 12:01Speaker 2: Hakeem Jeffrey's got a serious grilling about his crazy answers,
- 12:06Speaker 2: and I think he used the term the election was
- 12:10Speaker 2: rigged or Republicans are rigging the election. So she hit back.
- 12:14Speaker 2: She said, you know when a Republican says the election's rigged,
- 12:17Speaker 2: you guys go crazy. Why are you using that term?
- 12:19Speaker 2: So the left went crazy online. They couldn't believe that
- 12:25Speaker 2: CBS News would actually question anything. The Democrats said, hey,
- 12:29Speaker 2: you know, our friend Steve Hilton is running for governor California.
- 12:34Speaker 2: It's actually the primary. The election is next year. But
- 12:37Speaker 2: in the latest poll California Governor's race twenty twenty six,
- 12:42Speaker 2: Steve Hilton leads Katie Porter, not by much by one point,
- 12:46Speaker 2: but significant because it's such an overly democratic state possible
- 12:52Speaker 2: for Republican to win. You know, it used to be
- 12:53Speaker 2: the opposite. In California years ago, he had plenty of
- 12:56Speaker 2: Republican governors. It was balanced. The electric Reagan was governor,
- 13:01Speaker 2: he had a lot of Schwarzenegger. And then they imported
- 13:05Speaker 2: millions and millions and millions and millions of illegals. It's
- 13:07Speaker 2: changed the whole ratio. Democrats totally dominate. And one of
- 13:13Speaker 2: the problems is, and Gavin Newsom will have this problem.
- 13:17Speaker 2: It's so democratic in California, Republican has absolutely no chance.
- 13:21Speaker 2: So if you win anything in California Senate, whatever you win,
- 13:26Speaker 2: take Kamala Harris, you'd win every time. You just win,
- 13:29Speaker 2: you win, you win, you win. Then you decide you'll
- 13:31Speaker 2: run for president. Well, when you're suddenly in a national race,
- 13:35Speaker 2: it's not ninety eight percent democratic the electorate, it's suddenly
- 13:39Speaker 2: ballot and California Democrat has no shot. They've never never
- 13:43Speaker 2: run in a balanced race before. So remember, Gavin Newsom
- 13:47Speaker 2: may have that problem. He may be popular in California,
- 13:50Speaker 2: but as soon as he tries to run with a
- 13:52Speaker 2: mixed electorate, all of a sudden, he's got no shot
- 13:55Speaker 2: and Bill Maher interesting, he's been warning Democrats, warning them,
- 14:00Speaker 2: especially on his show this week. You know you got
- 14:04Speaker 2: a big threat from Mom Donnie. He's going to take
- 14:07Speaker 2: down the whole party. You better be careful. He's from Uganda,
- 14:10Speaker 2: where they kill homosexuals. Mars said, that's their policy. If
- 14:14Speaker 2: you're homosexual, you get killed. They kill you for being gay.
- 14:18Speaker 2: That's Uganda. And Mars said, why doesn't he renounce his citizenship?
- 14:21Speaker 2: Why doesn't he denounce the country. Why does he do
- 14:24Speaker 2: something like that now? Mar also points out the problem
- 14:28Speaker 2: in New York Cuomo was not He wasn't inspirational, wasn't exciting,
- 14:35Speaker 2: said he appeared to be kind and normal, but people
- 14:37Speaker 2: just didn't like him anyway. Hey, coming up, Dick Morris
- 14:40Speaker 2: will be with us in a few moments now, expert consultant,
- 14:43Speaker 2: campaign consultant expert polster. He's one of the one of
- 14:47Speaker 2: the ones that has said all along, Curtis had a
- 14:49Speaker 2: shot to win, Curtis had a good chance. He's supposed
- 14:52Speaker 2: to run around saying Curtis has no chance, Curtis has
- 14:54Speaker 2: no chance. The media has been drilling that into people.
- 14:58Speaker 2: But we'll talk to Dick Morris in a few minutes. Well,
- 15:00Speaker 2: we'll take some calls. Next eight hundred three to two
- 15:03Speaker 2: one zero seven ten is a number. Eight hundred three
- 15:06Speaker 2: two one zero seven ten.
- 15:09Speaker 1: Now more marks alone seventeen.
- 15:14Speaker 2: Hey, let's take some calls. Let's go to uh Lou
- 15:18Speaker 2: Center Island Lou.
- 15:20Speaker 4: How you doing, hey, Mark Love your show.
- 15:24Speaker 2: Center Island Oyster Bay. That's Center Island.
- 15:27Speaker 5: Yeah, yes, sir, Yeah, I'm sure you know. And you
- 15:30Speaker 5: also know who used to live used to be my neighbor.
- 15:32Speaker 2: Sean Hannity used to be your neighbor.
- 15:35Speaker 5: Correct, And what a gentleman. He bought my wife and
- 15:37Speaker 5: I a bottle of line one said, a local steak house,
- 15:40Speaker 5: which I'm sure you also know.
- 15:42Speaker 6: Let me guess.
- 15:42Speaker 2: Let me guess Rothmans.
- 15:45Speaker 5: That's it.
- 15:45Speaker 2: There you go.
- 15:47Speaker 5: Yeah, just uh my wife said, oh, you know that's
- 15:49Speaker 5: Sean Hanney. You can say hello. I'm like, he's with
- 15:51Speaker 5: his family. And all I did was raise a glass
- 15:54Speaker 5: and he looked over, and he got up, and he
- 15:56Speaker 5: walked over and he spent ten minutes talking to us.
- 15:58Speaker 5: And then when we got the check, the waiter said, oh,
- 16:01Speaker 5: by the way, mister Hannity picked up that bottle. I
- 16:03Speaker 5: always share that story. Because Sean is such a class act.
- 16:05Speaker 2: Anyway, that's Sean Handy. I can tell you a million
- 16:08Speaker 2: other he does that kind of stuff all the time.
- 16:10Speaker 2: And who else is your neighbor Billy Joel right down the.
- 16:14Speaker 4: Street, Ellie Joel.
- 16:15Speaker 5: Yes, yes, so I'm just.
- 16:17Speaker 2: Called Center Island is a beautiful island. Now. Only problem
- 16:21Speaker 2: is if you want to go somewhere like a supermarket
- 16:23Speaker 2: or go to Rothman's, it's like forty minutes to get
- 16:25Speaker 2: out of there and get any place. Yeah, twenty minutes,
- 16:28Speaker 2: so it's like forty minutes, but go ahead.
- 16:30Speaker 5: Well Rothmans is about twenty five thirty.
- 16:33Speaker 6: Anyway, I played.
- 16:34Speaker 5: I hate I know you, I know you missed book.
- 16:37Speaker 5: You said gen X. You meant jen Z.
- 16:40Speaker 2: Oh, I'm sorry, yeah gen Z gen Z.
- 16:42Speaker 5: Yeah, I'm fifty six. Gen X is a probably the
- 16:45Speaker 5: last generation with a lot of common sense.
- 16:47Speaker 3: But love you.
- 16:49Speaker 5: I wanted to point that out.
- 16:51Speaker 2: Thanks for calling. Take care. Let's go to uh Bob
- 16:54Speaker 2: and New Rochelle Bob. How you doing im?
- 16:57Speaker 4: Good market?
- 16:57Speaker 2: So let me check? Oh not bad? Bad?
- 17:01Speaker 4: Got a question for you. What's it like being Mark Simone?
- 17:04Speaker 4: I mean, you do a two hours show like how much?
- 17:06Speaker 7: Well?
- 17:06Speaker 2: I think the audience is more concerned. I think what
- 17:08Speaker 2: they really want to know, what's it like being Bob
- 17:10Speaker 2: from Newer Shell? Tell us what.
- 17:11Speaker 4: It's going to take a week to tell you.
- 17:13Speaker 2: What is it really like?
- 17:15Speaker 4: You have no idea?
- 17:17Speaker 2: Hey, what goes down there in Newer Shell. That's an
- 17:19Speaker 2: interesting place. You have a Trump Tower right in the
- 17:22Speaker 2: middle of the Newer Shell.
- 17:24Speaker 4: We do?
- 17:24Speaker 7: We do?
- 17:24Speaker 4: What's been there for a while. I've been to the
- 17:26Speaker 4: very top of it when I was a fireman here
- 17:27Speaker 4: when they were building it.
- 17:29Speaker 2: Oh all right, very good. Yeah, No, there's a lot
- 17:31Speaker 2: of If you look up at Westchester and you see
- 17:34Speaker 2: all these high rises in skyscrapers, that's Newer Shell. There's
- 17:37Speaker 2: a whole bunch of.
- 17:38Speaker 4: That's Newer Shell. It's a completely different city than it
- 17:40Speaker 4: was like ten years ago.
- 17:41Speaker 2: Yeah, all right, Well, thanks for colling. Let's go to
- 17:44Speaker 2: Richard and Bay Shore. Richard, how you doing.
- 17:47Speaker 7: I'm doing a little Mark, good morning. I'd like to
- 17:49Speaker 7: make a point and then ask you a question. First
- 17:53Speaker 7: of all, yes, Mondami can through law enforcement make transits
- 17:57Speaker 7: virtually free. Just let it that he's not going to
- 18:01Speaker 7: have anyone arrested or prosecuted.
- 18:05Speaker 2: But just to point out the art. He has no
- 18:06Speaker 2: power to make the buses free. They're controlled by the
- 18:08Speaker 2: MTA that's controlled by the states legally.
- 18:11Speaker 7: Yeah, yeah, yeah, I just made the facto, Cuomo. Isn't
- 18:16Speaker 7: he running really to collect money for his retirement? How
- 18:19Speaker 7: much does a candidate get to keep of his donations
- 18:21Speaker 7: to pretend he's writning a book. He's a secretary.
- 18:24Speaker 2: You get to keep all of it. Basically, you can
- 18:27Speaker 2: spend it on an office, a driver or this, or
- 18:29Speaker 2: at your expenses. But he already made a lot of
- 18:31Speaker 2: money as governor, and he made that five million dollar
- 18:33Speaker 2: book deal. And he's a guy who can go out
- 18:35Speaker 2: and make money. These donors love him. They'll always give
- 18:37Speaker 2: him a job. You know. He's been in between office before,
- 18:41Speaker 2: in between Attorney general and governor. He worked for a
- 18:45Speaker 2: big law firm. Another time he worked for a big
- 18:48Speaker 2: capital fund or something. They'll pay him a couple millionaire.
- 18:51Speaker 2: He can always pay away.
- 18:52Speaker 7: His brand is poisoned because of his history, you know.
- 18:57Speaker 7: So he's doing so little to really advances caused and
- 19:01Speaker 7: make sure one Noh.
- 19:02Speaker 2: He's looking pretty sad, kind of willy lowman ish in
- 19:05Speaker 2: this race. But a guy like him, you know, you
- 19:08Speaker 2: can always make money when you get out of office.
- 19:10Speaker 2: Believe it or not, you could leave in disgrace. You
- 19:13Speaker 2: can always make money. These big, big donors fall for
- 19:17Speaker 2: this stuff. They like the guy for a couple of reasons.
- 19:20Speaker 2: One they think he can pick up the phone and
- 19:23Speaker 2: get things done. He knows everybody in Albany. He can
- 19:25Speaker 2: get things today. That's one reason. The other reason they
- 19:28Speaker 2: love having him over to the house at their parties,
- 19:30Speaker 2: at their dinner parties, bring him to lunch. They think
- 19:32Speaker 2: he can bring in business. These big, big money guys,
- 19:35Speaker 2: believe it or not, they get more starstruck than anybody. Anybody,
- 19:39Speaker 2: even Anthony Wiener when he left off, even he could
- 19:41Speaker 2: find jobs. Just you know, he's like a novelty. He's
- 19:45Speaker 2: like a court jester. Let's go to Jim in New Jersey. Jim,
- 19:49Speaker 2: how you doing?
- 19:50Speaker 6: Mark? I went to the twice a year autograph convention
- 19:54Speaker 6: this weekend in Precipity, and at least everybody I went
- 19:58Speaker 6: up to is older than the uh. Monica Henry, she
- 20:03Speaker 6: was terrific.
- 20:04Speaker 2: She Who's that? I bought?
- 20:06Speaker 6: Paul Henry's daughter, you know, Paul Henry from Casablanca. Victor Laslow,
- 20:11Speaker 6: who goes off at the end with Ingrid Bergman.
- 20:13Speaker 2: She was there. She was Okay, we know who Paul
- 20:17Speaker 2: Henry is. What does his daughter have to do with anything?
- 20:20Speaker 6: Well, they're like legacy autographs, now, mark.
- 20:24Speaker 2: Y autogress. You know this is for example, this is
- 20:27Speaker 2: like we hire guest bookers. When you get a really
- 20:30Speaker 2: bad one, the worst guest booker ends up with relatives.
- 20:33Speaker 2: I have Jerry Seinfeld's sister, we have her.
- 20:36Speaker 6: Well for example, brother example, were supposed.
- 20:39Speaker 2: To get the celebrities, not their relatives.
- 20:41Speaker 6: Oh but they were boring. Victoria Price, Vincent Price's daughter
- 20:45Speaker 6: was there.
- 20:46Speaker 2: Oh my god, this is the most pathetic thing, now.
- 20:49Speaker 6: This one Mark. She's eighty seven. She looked gorgeous. Joy's
- 20:52Speaker 6: Boulaphont remember her from the match game, et cetera.
- 20:55Speaker 2: She was a very nice thing. Okay, let me let
- 20:57Speaker 2: me ask you a personal question. Sure if I signed
- 21:00Speaker 2: an autograph, Joyce Bullfund, who the hell would know? What
- 21:02Speaker 2: do you even need to go see this? Who's gonna
- 21:04Speaker 2: known Henry's autograph or not?
- 21:07Speaker 6: She has a book out Mark called My Four Husbands,
- 21:10Speaker 6: My four Hollywood Husbands. Joyce Boulapat, she's eighty seven. She
- 21:13Speaker 6: looked great and Dave Dave Davies was there from the Kinks,
- 21:16Speaker 6: poor old Dave Davies, the lead guitarist, Kings brother.
- 21:21Speaker 2: Ray Davis brother, not even Ray Davies. It's I have
- 21:25Speaker 2: to stop you. You're a great guy, but this is
- 21:27Speaker 2: too pathetic. This is what these autograph shows have become.
- 21:30Speaker 2: They used to have these b lists C list then
- 21:33Speaker 2: it was d list elist. Now it's the cousins of
- 21:36Speaker 2: the people on the This is really bad. Hey, when
- 21:38Speaker 2: we come back, Dick Morris, the great polster consultant, lots
- 21:42Speaker 2: of talk to him about next on seven to ten.
- 21:44Speaker 1: W If you're listening to Mark on the iHeartRadio app,
- 21:48Speaker 1: save time and dap the preset button. Now now back
- 21:52Speaker 1: to the Mark Simone Show on wo R.
- 21:58Speaker 3: Well.
- 21:58Speaker 2: Dick Morris, of course, the great dumb political consultant, the bolster,
- 22:01Speaker 2: best selling author simolover television radio. And hey, he's got
- 22:06Speaker 2: a new book out. You should get his new book,
- 22:10Speaker 2: which is it is the first book about Charlie Kirk.
- 22:14Speaker 2: Dick Morris's new book called The Real Charlie Kirk, first
- 22:17Speaker 2: major book since since his death. And he's with us now,
- 22:20Speaker 2: Dick Morris, how you doing good?
- 22:23Speaker 8: I'm fine, I'm great. I want to clarify I'm alive.
- 22:26Speaker 8: See the death referring.
- 22:28Speaker 2: To his march Yeah, yeah, yeah, How did you get
- 22:32Speaker 2: this book done so fast? That's pretty good, that's pretty impressive.
- 22:36Speaker 4: Yeah.
- 22:36Speaker 8: Well, I actually was working on it for a while
- 22:42Speaker 8: prior to his death, and I worked clearly closely with
- 22:46Speaker 8: him during the Trump campaign, particularly focusing on the boat
- 22:51Speaker 8: of people under the age of thirty and the Trump
- 22:56Speaker 8: has you know, got fully six percent of the vote
- 22:59Speaker 8: of people under thirty, and previously he got only thirty
- 23:03Speaker 8: six percent. So that ten point game was a big deal.
- 23:07Speaker 8: And I learned a lot about Charlie and about his
- 23:11Speaker 8: outreach and how he how he positions himself, and it
- 23:16Speaker 8: was a big part of the corn victory.
- 23:20Speaker 2: Yeah. So here in New York, you know, we see
- 23:22Speaker 2: this crazy young generation. See they're all socialists, they want
- 23:25Speaker 2: mom Johnny. How did you guys find the younger voters
- 23:29Speaker 2: who wanted to go with Republicans and Trump?
- 23:32Speaker 8: Well, yeah, but you know, you can't equate New York
- 23:36Speaker 8: City with the rest of the country. Yeah, the the
- 23:41Speaker 8: younger generation in New York is almost neolistic. It's I
- 23:47Speaker 8: think there was it was a kind of. I think
- 23:50Speaker 8: there's a kind of rejection of everything that's going on,
- 23:54Speaker 8: and the grace of socialism really is an attention getting
- 23:58Speaker 8: device as a method of people of paying attention to them.
- 24:04Speaker 8: And I just think that it's very different than the
- 24:08Speaker 8: national trends throughout the rest of the country. Young people
- 24:12Speaker 8: are becoming more conservatives and Republican education and registration amongst both.
- 24:20Speaker 8: His under thirty has increased dramatically. And I can't really
- 24:26Speaker 8: account for why New York is so different, but it
- 24:29Speaker 8: is so different. It's always been and it is. But
- 24:34Speaker 8: with Kirk, I just loved the way he was able
- 24:38Speaker 8: to explain to people that he has confront them directly,
- 24:45Speaker 8: not do a little of them, not put them down,
- 24:48Speaker 8: and and really hope make great progress.
- 24:53Speaker 2: Yeah, the idea of opening up a dialogue on the
- 24:56Speaker 2: college campus is students hearing both sides of the issue.
- 25:00Speaker 2: This is what Charlie Kirk did. Isn't this what the
- 25:02Speaker 2: universities were supposed to do. Isn't this what the professor
- 25:05Speaker 2: should have been doing?
- 25:06Speaker 8: Yeah, well they should. But you know, there was a
- 25:11Speaker 8: Marxist professor, Herbert Marcouley, who said that that the way
- 25:16Speaker 8: to get revolution in the United States would never be
- 25:21Speaker 8: through the working class, but through students. And he said
- 25:25Speaker 8: that you need to take what he called the long
- 25:27Speaker 8: March MYUS through the institutions in the US and converted
- 25:33Speaker 8: them one at a time and moved them to the
- 25:37Speaker 8: to the left. And he began with the Teachers Union,
- 25:42Speaker 8: really making that a left wing, left wing polkrim and
- 25:48Speaker 8: then moved from there to the college campuses and then
- 25:52Speaker 8: ultimately those same kids and moved into editorships and corporate
- 25:58Speaker 8: boards and stuff like that. And that's kind of how
- 26:02Speaker 8: the left took over the country instance, and Charlie understood
- 26:07Speaker 8: that and was doing his own long march through the
- 26:10Speaker 8: institutions to turn it around.
- 26:14Speaker 2: Yeah, but it's one guy up against all these institutions,
- 26:17Speaker 2: and who will continue this movement? Who will continue what
- 26:19Speaker 2: Charlie Kirk did?
- 26:21Speaker 8: Well, I think the Turning Point is doing that forum
- 26:26Speaker 8: for us.
- 26:26Speaker 4: Really.
- 26:28Speaker 8: There have been huge numbers of new campuses organized by
- 26:32Speaker 8: Turning Point USA, and I think that you're looking at
- 26:37Speaker 8: a sort of new institutional arrival and the scene, and
- 26:42Speaker 8: I think that it's going to be very effective really
- 26:47Speaker 8: affecting the future. We really have not had a very good,
- 26:52Speaker 8: viable conservative entity on the political spectrum representing young people,
- 26:58Speaker 8: and Kirk Will Charley created that and is where is
- 27:06Speaker 8: perpetuating that very successfully?
- 27:08Speaker 2: I think, Well, everybody get Dick Morris's new book, latest book,
- 27:11Speaker 2: it's called The Real Charlie Kirk, The Real Charlie Kirk
- 27:16Speaker 2: by Dick Morris. Dick Morris, you're still there?
- 27:19Speaker 4: Yep?
- 27:19Speaker 2: Oh yeah, hey, mayor all race. Over the weekend we
- 27:22Speaker 2: saw turnout five times normal record setting turnout. What do
- 27:26Speaker 2: you think that means?
- 27:28Speaker 8: Well, I hope it means that people are coming to
- 27:32Speaker 8: their senses. But the normally the early balloon would tend
- 27:41Speaker 8: to be more liberal, and so we'll see. But I
- 27:46Speaker 8: think that that the theory had been that in a
- 27:51Speaker 8: low turnout race, the left would predominate, and I think
- 27:56Speaker 8: that that I hope that that's not the case, and
- 28:00Speaker 8: I hope that a high turnouts going on is people
- 28:03Speaker 8: coming to their senses on Mandami.
- 28:05Speaker 2: Now, Dick Morris, expert consultant, campaign person polster, You've always
- 28:10Speaker 2: said Curtis had a shot, a good shot. You think
- 28:13Speaker 2: that's still the case.
- 28:15Speaker 8: Well, yeah, I do. I think until we actually see
- 28:19Speaker 8: how people vote, I think that that certainly is the case. Look,
- 28:23Speaker 8: there's a deep seated animosity the New York is feld
- 28:26Speaker 8: Sory Andrew Cromo and stems from his role during the pandemic,
- 28:32Speaker 8: is the sexual scandals, the resignation as governor. And I
- 28:36Speaker 8: think that that people are there's kind of an ABC
- 28:40Speaker 8: attitude anybody but Como, and I think that that prevents
- 28:48Speaker 8: them from moving to Cromo. You know, Cromo for the
- 28:51Speaker 8: last six weeks has not moved up or down in
- 28:54Speaker 8: the Poland He's been twenty eight percent, and the same
- 28:59Speaker 8: with Mandami fully three and Sleiwa has doubled his vote
- 29:03Speaker 8: share since early September from about ten percent to about twenty.
- 29:09Speaker 8: So he's the only moving piece in this race. And
- 29:12Speaker 8: I hope that movement continues, and I hope that we
- 29:15Speaker 8: really see that when the election day itself was held.
- 29:19Speaker 2: Yeah, now that's second debate. Curtis clearly won on issues,
- 29:23Speaker 2: on substance, on content. But some people say Mam Donnie
- 29:27Speaker 2: won because he didn't hurt himself, there was no real
- 29:30Speaker 2: damage to him and he got in like five deadly
- 29:32Speaker 2: shots against Cuoma during the debate. Would you would you
- 29:34Speaker 2: agree with that?
- 29:36Speaker 4: Yeah?
- 29:37Speaker 8: But I thought Mam Dammy refused to take positions on
- 29:41Speaker 8: a bunch of eight years, the ballot propositions and other stuff.
- 29:45Speaker 8: And I think that three work clearly won that debate,
- 29:50Speaker 8: and we'll see the effect that has. There isn't any
- 29:54Speaker 8: really good polling since the debate.
- 29:57Speaker 2: Yeah, hey, I dig mars. When you get money to campaign,
- 30:00Speaker 2: you suddenly raised ten million or whatever, What does it
- 30:03Speaker 2: you do with it? The old days was TV commercials.
- 30:05Speaker 2: But that's not so effective anymore, is it?
- 30:08Speaker 4: Well?
- 30:09Speaker 8: I think I think it is. But in his case,
- 30:13Speaker 8: I think that there's some dark money going on there.
- 30:18Speaker 8: I think that much of the money he's raised has
- 30:20Speaker 8: been from Soros and connected groups and U and I
- 30:25Speaker 8: wouldn't be surprised if that is being translated directly into
- 30:29Speaker 8: payoffs to voters. We'll have to see what happens with that.
- 30:34Speaker 2: Yeah, so's a bad question.
- 30:38Speaker 8: Basically your point, Your point, market is right that money
- 30:43Speaker 8: is losing its power in politics. And you see that
- 30:47Speaker 8: when you know Harris out spent from marketly and there's
- 30:53Speaker 8: no way you can find it in the election results.
- 30:56Speaker 8: And I think that because of the decree sing Power Network,
- 31:01Speaker 8: TV money is not it's not as powerful as it
- 31:06Speaker 8: used to be.
- 31:07Speaker 4: Enough politics, This is.
- 31:09Speaker 2: A tough question. But percentage chance that Momdannie wins? What
- 31:13Speaker 2: would you say?
- 31:15Speaker 8: Oh, god, I mean.
- 31:19Speaker 2: Sixty percent that'll win.
- 31:21Speaker 8: Well, I think it's more than fifty. Yeah, unfortunately, yeah,
- 31:25Speaker 8: which it warn't, but it is.
- 31:28Speaker 4: So we'll see, we'll see.
- 31:30Speaker 2: Everybody get Dick Morris's book election. Okay, all right, The
- 31:34Speaker 2: Real Charlie Kirk, Dick Morris, thanks for being with us.
- 31:37Speaker 2: Excellent new book. Thanks, take care of Dick Morris's new
- 31:40Speaker 2: book is The Real Charlie Kirk. First major book on
- 31:44Speaker 2: Charlie Kirk since since his death. Hey, uh, don't forget
- 31:48Speaker 2: coming up at noon today, Buck and Clay. They do
- 31:51Speaker 2: a very good show every day at noon noon to three.
- 31:53Speaker 2: And then you got Sean Hannity three to six. It's
- 31:56Speaker 2: the most listened to radio show in America. And then
- 31:59Speaker 2: you got Jesse Kelly's every night at six. And our
- 32:02Speaker 2: new show is Jimmy Fayala, very very funny, excellent informative
- 32:06Speaker 2: show nine to midnight. It's every night every weeknight, nine
- 32:10Speaker 2: to midnight on seven to ten wor The Mark.
- 32:14Speaker 1: Simone Show continues on seven TENR.
- 32:19Speaker 2: Well, Hey, the NBA scandal keeps expanding. You got an
- 32:24Speaker 2: NFL former player involved. Looks like it's growing. A lot
- 32:28Speaker 2: of people could be going to jail. This is a big, big,
- 32:31Speaker 2: mushrooming scandal. How did it get how did they get caught? Well,
- 32:37Speaker 2: word is it was Las Vegas that found out. Las
- 32:39Speaker 2: Vegas turned him in because apparently it was taken business
- 32:43Speaker 2: away from Las Vegas and they blew the whistle on
- 32:47Speaker 2: the whole thing. Hey, crazy Joe Biden made his first
- 32:50Speaker 2: public appearance since his cancer treatments. He was appearing in Massachusetts.
- 32:57Speaker 2: It's the Edward M. Kennedy Award. But Biden, you know,
- 33:00Speaker 2: Biden always makes these horrible speeches, these hate filled, divisive speeches,
- 33:05Speaker 2: name calling. You remember that famous one in Philadelphia. We
- 33:08Speaker 2: yelled and screamed and called everybody names. Well, this one
- 33:11Speaker 2: was same thing. He said, We're we're called these dark days.
- 33:16Speaker 2: We're in very dark days. It's time to get back
- 33:20Speaker 2: up and fight back. He applauded the late night TV
- 33:23Speaker 2: hosts brave moral exemplars who continue to shine light on
- 33:28Speaker 2: free speech. That's Biden. It's always hysterical, hyperbolic nonsense in
- 33:33Speaker 2: his speeches. Hey, we're out of time, I'll be back tomorrow.
- 33:37Speaker 2: Here every day ten to noon. Don't go away. Buck
- 33:40Speaker 2: and Clay are next with an excellent show. And remember,
- 33:44Speaker 2: if you can't listen to me ten to noon, you
- 33:47Speaker 2: can listen anytime you want, day or night. All you
- 33:49Speaker 2: got to do is get the podcast. Then you can
- 33:51Speaker 2: listen whenever you want, and you can get it at
- 33:54Speaker 2: iHeart or any place you get podcasts, any podcast app.
- 33:57Speaker 2: You'll find this show. See you tomorrow at ten right
- 34:00Speaker 2: here on seven ten w or
