- 7:59the greatest human beings ever in politics. David Pattis's Coming Day. Thanks for
- 8:09being here today. Thanks to uh following you of our pavior ay Uh you
- 8:15know the police athletically gives the finest children's charity in New York. Nobody does
- 8:18moor for the kids in New York, especially as a place where it's needed
- 8:22most. And think this. Returnees and others have said it's a great crime
- 8:26fighting tool. We take a lot of kids Promation Department gyps. Listen the
- 8:31recidivism break on pl kids. He's like on the third what the normal visions?
- 8:37So, uh, you're helping a great cause. Now the FBI,
- 8:39you've had uh FPI is a very special organization. Play the New York office.
- 8:45You're something really special. And we've had the greatest director Tom the Jim
- 8:50Fox and all the others and been directors here and we've come one with us
- 8:54right now. And I'd like you to introduce our special guest, George Benzealos,
- 8:58a long time jump job teacher. You fayal organizations used to be the
- 9:09uh see o O the Federal Law enforcements. UH foundation still gonna create work
- 9:15for all of us here in New York. George Vendezuela's a bunch of taking
- 9:18you there. Thank you, Mark Well, it's a real honor permitted to
- 9:28disclose the shoes. I at least feeling right now. And it's just as
- 9:37director of Charge of the York Mike far best job of that job. That's
- 9:43also the most of the jobs U as Bill doll as New York. The
- 9:48rest of the country not those And New York's advantagers we do have in New
- 9:52York is the best. Like this between the foundations and who was athletically he's
- 10:00a venture. It's all about bringing people together and work together. And James
- 10:05is only gonna hit two months last the last part he had here. He
- 10:11was here. He wasn't an a assigned to New York yet and he took
- 10:16the time to come to this of that kind of time and UH and that's
- 10:20something that the community noticed quickly and appreciate it. But James came from uh
- 10:26the Houston office. He was in charge you on Houston office. There's some
- 10:28of the things he did down there. He's gonna go well for New York.
- 10:33He was able with all the city crime going on, he was able
- 10:37to work some of these repeat offenders into the federal system to to face federal
- 10:43time. Because as we know, a lot of the great cities, oh
- 10:48I think the a's he had just Returney's offices. I was gonna starting hurt.
- 10:52You know. There's a lot of strong the a's get an office and
- 10:56a lot of the cities are again hurt crime. So this is where the
- 10:58FBI at all the other federal agencies to step in and help. And James
- 11:05did that and use he done a tremendous job doing that. And he doesn't
- 11:07talk up with some big office experience. He worked in LA office for a
- 11:11number of years as a a new agent, work the streets. LA's one
- 11:15office. It's not New York, but but one thing is that's it has
- 11:20water in New York. Is that extreme gang presence. LA's a the Keeam
- 11:24gangs, you know, and James worked a lot of the gangs over his
- 11:28career, and so it's gonna serve him while here. I think you wanna
- 11:33hear from him, so he hit right to him. And I think I
- 11:37think James is gonna bring the community together like both the other sisters, I
- 11:46mean, and I think James is good to it right in. You always
- 11:48been right in and uh and I look forward to work with them. They
- 11:52have guys like a a family seven though we never worked with nothing together.
- 11:58It's that the Kenny Bacon thing. We all though some people we work with
- 12:01and suppost like a preacher goody in New Yorky. You know somebody are related
- 12:05to somebody. Yeah, l we we have a lot of the safe friends.
- 12:09So for me, it's a lot of PRESU can do, James spect
- 12:24that's Georgia. We have to do well. Thank you for a bite for
- 12:31years. Man. It's great to be back here and we had a good
- 12:35time the last time I was here and uh AUGI the safety of the communities
- 12:43we served is not just the concerned responsibility of law enforcement, but your community
- 12:48as well. You have the I needs public help and achieve success our community
- 12:56serves and as our highs and years, we count to the school of society
- 13:01approach to aid us as we become at this evolution of crime. The FBI
- 13:07has made a concentrated effort to grow stronger connections with all our communities, developing
- 13:15channels people ongoing communication. This includes building relationships with our kids. You're cring
- 13:22to trust, wantuls and provide them opportunities to grow and learn in the safety
- 13:28and environments that we live in. The FBI has pro to the programs like
- 13:33Exports and Team Academy. This is one of the kids. We can come
- 13:37to the FBI, understand our pass, understand how there's to be lawn for.
- 13:43In addition to this, work is still needed to grow these connections.
- 13:50We need to maintain and further gain our kids and communities trust. This is
- 13:56the the FBI saying we need to gain the trust of the community and don't
- 14:00kids when the wanting signs of President people know who may come to come is
- 14:07lawful law enforcement, that's law. Without that trust, we cannot do the
- 14:11work we do to protect the American people. The League knows that our best
- 14:18chance of bringing about change comes with teaching tolerance and leading by example. If
- 14:24we're not working together to create an atmosphere of tolerance and respect for one another,
- 14:31we run the risk of allowing hatred to stream through our communities. Give
- 14:37you a way to crimes of unspeakable nature as we're experiencing today. This is
- 14:43why our law enforcement partnerships are so valuable and why growing stronger connections with members
- 14:50of our community is so essential. Not only do me defendant one another from
- 14:56potential physical dangers we can, but we work together from gradials dangers from showing
- 15:03up on the doorsteps of citizens he served. If we don't have a trust
- 15:09of our community leaves, and if the children in our communities don't feel they
- 15:15can trust us, you're fighting and uphill back These relationships especially essential to our
- 15:24continued success in today's involving way and to ensuring we build trust along the new
- 15:31generation of parents and children who hold out future in their hands. This seems
- 15:39particularly typical topical given the current environment overseas and what that means for us here
- 15:46at home. I'm gonna shift gears here and we'na talk a little bit about
- 15:50what we're experiencing challenges the ongoing your questioning for and is rarely hamas commony.
- 16:00I really want you to understand. Looking as the gale of law enforcement are
- 16:03doing around the world to address extititions these major issues, the FBI has continue
- 16:11to monitor the threats associated with the real a Mons conflict, both in the
- 16:15United States and overseas. There's been a devastating loss of life, with thousands
- 16:22of Israelis and Palestanians killed, including at least thirty five American citizens. Since
- 16:30their deaths, the very five American citizens Washington Field Office has opened up investigations
- 16:36into their deaths. So once you want to understand, we're not just allowing
- 16:40them to die without any action. The FBI and law enforcement of Welling bring
- 16:47to what's going on there. Amasistity and still holds hundreds of hostitutes. And
- 16:57although we are there rayful that two American hostages, a mother and a daughter
- 17:03were reduced to amass still holds ten Americans hostage. The FBI has also opened
- 17:10up ten investigations into US hostages and kidnapping. We will not go long without
- 17:15trying to bring them back home. Mm The FBI has worked retires to without
- 17:22interagency and international parties to locate the hostages and bring them home. The young
- 17:27gooing conflict is not isolated just als and issue, and we have already seen
- 17:34the conflict inspired terrorist acts overseas of KI and Isis. They have called for
- 17:41support to alas mm urge its follows trutargety. Jewish presence all over the world,
- 17:48especially Jewish neighborhoods in America and Europe. Iranian media has amplified myths and
- 17:56disinformation online about the conflict and publicly message support to the mobs and threatened to
- 18:03attack. You must interested in the Middle East, if excuse me, in
- 18:07the Middle East and the US directly on injuries. Less than a week after
- 18:15the attack in France, an individual stabbed and killed. Less than a week
- 18:19after the attack of the Stob seven in France, and individual stabbed and killed
- 18:26the teacher at a school and injured several other people. A few days after
- 18:32that ta attack, individual in Beligible claimed membership and license and then shot and
- 18:37killed two Swedish nationals. There has also been an increase in attacks on US
- 18:44military leasons carried out by Iranian back the militias threatened threatening the safety and security
- 18:52by a military personnelity over seas. We are actively monitoring the situation of overseas
- 19:00use which is be fueled and evolving, and we are assessing implications throughout the
- 19:07domesticigure right environment regarding specific They have not conducted or called for a tax needing
- 19:15less, but we cannot do We cannot and do not discount the possibility that
- 19:22they could direct a tax as a homeland, which you would be a deviation
- 19:29in the historical focus by operations to destrict the terror threat in the homeland has
- 19:37remained hypened throughout twenty twenty three. And we do not see it stopping going
- 19:42into twenty twenty four. But recent events have increased the possibility or potential attack
- 19:48at least individuals and institutions in the United States. We're not concerned. This
- 19:56made PROMPTU. We are most concerned, and this made promp homegrown violent extremts
- 20:02and long offenders motivated by poor reacting to the events piece events to conduct the
- 20:10tax against juition are American and Muslim communities here in the United States. We're
- 20:15also concerned about domestic ration motivated by the extrems with the ideologies targeting juition,
- 20:23Muslim or aur American communities. So I'm gonna hit that part of them that
- 20:29is basically saying we have US citizens will become gradialized and return against the citizens.
- 20:38The terrorists no longer have to send the old team to the United States
- 20:41and to conduct the terrorist attack and use the internet to gradialize American citizens usually
- 20:49all them to conduct the terrorist attacks like we've been seeing over the last couple
- 20:53of days. But a lot of if we live right now, can't in
- 21:00law, I'm not dragging any incredible threat as a right now we do not
- 21:07know threat to the old and I have to hit that because we have to
- 21:15function without fear. So right now, Ayeah, there is no incredible threat
- 21:22to the United States. I'm wonderst FBI field officers across the country with an
- 21:30aggressive sense of vers We are determined to do everything is possible to fulfill our
- 21:37mission and protected American people. Since the October seventh attack, the FBI has
- 21:44opened up hundreds of inquiries and those in law enforcement that is gardens. We've
- 21:49opened up hundreds of gardeners that happened nexus to the common These guardians range from
- 21:57non specific threats with no clear time frame or target to incorpork a corroborated threats
- 22:06to life to threats seriously enough to opening investigations to wrestler. We are using
- 22:15and leveraging all of our investigator techniques to mitigate these threats. Along with our
- 22:19apartments, we're also leaning forward and outreach efforts with our community departners, especially
- 22:27our favor based communities. Since the confidence I've first had gone out and met
- 22:33with the Jewish and Muslim communities on several occasions since October seven, the attacks
- 22:41to Since October seven attacks, the FBI at our partners have a wrestled two
- 22:45individuals plotting potential terrorist attacks. Two weeks ago my former office at BI Houston
- 22:52around Pales Uni and sidey sever who studied how to build bombs and posted our
- 22:59mind allowed wanting to fight against Israel in God and supporting killing people of the
- 23:04Jewish faith. Last week at FBI Las Vegas, a resident individual who made
- 23:11numerous violence anti sement writing bron calls to a Jewish United States Center OBI Chicago
- 23:22office that's also opened the federal hate crime investigation into a landlord whose statitude death
- 23:29a six year old Palestinian American. They seriously injuring his mother because the tenants
- 23:34were a Muslim. And over the weekend there were reports of online quotes that
- 23:41writtned violence against Jewish students at Cornell University. This is all going on.
- 23:49This is all going on while the FBI in New York Field office continues to
- 23:55do dress live in crime, the metal crisis, intrusions, white call,
- 24:02the crimes, and the counter intelligence threads from China and Russia. We know
- 24:07our FBI in New York is in constant communications with you and your community partners,
- 24:15and that we are working closely together to follow up on every tip and
- 24:19lead to keep our communities. To report information to the FBI, please use
- 24:26tips dot FBI dot go or one eight hundred calor FBI. And inconclusion,
- 24:34we have a long road ahead of us and we will continue renize more and
- 24:40more on the support and cooperation from our partners and communities. But by moving
- 24:47forward together, we will continue to keep our communities. Say thank you again
