- 0:23chickens. Hey everybody.
- 0:28Good morning from the chicken coop.
- 0:30Ooh, so I want to talk to you about doing one thing at a time.
- 0:34And it's funny because as I was walking out here and getting
- 0:38ready to set the girls up for the day, their little door has
- 0:42not even opened yet their Auto door on the side.
- 0:45Oh, you can hear the new there. We have a new group of babies,
- 0:49and one of them is crowing, clearly, not a hen.
- 0:52Anyway, as I'm walking out here, I'm planning on talking to you
- 0:58about doing one thing at a time. Time and doing one thing at a
- 1:03time is very hard, especially if you're focused on having, you
- 1:10know that one intention. So as I was coming out the door,
- 1:13I'm like, okay, I'm going to go get the chickens all set up,
- 1:16shoot the podcast and I realize, I'm running my to do list in my
- 1:20head and I think this is very funny because I'm coming to
- 1:22shoot and talk to you about doing one thing at a time.
- 1:26And then, as I'm walking over, I'm thinking, okay, I've already
- 1:30Otten the waters changed out. I did those yesterday.
- 1:35I've gotten, you know, a bunch of other stuff taken care of
- 1:38yesterday, and I'm running this in.
- 1:40Like, wait, wait, wait, stop, stop, stop.
- 1:41I'm supposed to be focusing on just doing the chickens, right?
- 1:45This minute going out, opening their doors doing the podcast.
- 1:49So as I'm out here, spreading all their seed on the ground,
- 1:53putting their little trays down. I'm hearing myself yet again,
- 1:57and this is a matter of what, three minutes, maybe two
- 2:00minutes. Course-correcting again thinking
- 2:02about oh I have all these vegetables that I need to figure
- 2:06out recipes for this week and get those taken care of and I'm
- 2:10like no no back up. Oh got a backup.
- 2:13Got it back up again I'm in here I put the trays down I'm
- 2:16thinking to myself huh? I should probably save a little
- 2:19bit of this scratch and go over to where that peacock is in the
- 2:22tree and give it some food. I'm and I'm like oh my gosh and
- 2:27then before I even opened their doors and they're like I said
- 2:30they have an Otto door that opens, but I opened their main
- 2:32doors, let them out. I was like, you know what, I
- 2:34have to put this down because I need everybody to see, this is
- 2:38not just an anomaly, this is human beings and their head, and
- 2:43this is what we all go through. And I want you guys to see this
- 2:46because this is so insanely detrimental to real progress
- 2:53when you're trying to focus, your attention and your
- 2:56intention in a direction because we are so scattered as human
- 3:00beings. And our brains just move like
- 3:02lightning, and rather than hanging in one space and really
- 3:06enjoying that space. We go all over the place and it
- 3:10is tough to control it. If I had to tell you, you know,
- 3:15what is the hardest thing that you face as a human being?
- 3:18It is it mentally as this goes, this is it, it's controlling
- 3:23your focus. Because if you're someone that
- 3:25stresses, if you're a person that adds stress to your life,
- 3:28like I used to be, oh my God. Ash that will pull you every
- 3:32single time. It sucks, you back in.
- 3:35It's just a constant tap, tap, tap tap tap, tap, tap worry
- 3:38about this tap tap, tap tap tap, think about this tap tap, tap
- 3:41tap tap, come over here, I need you to do this and it is all
- 3:47over you. And unless and until you get a
- 3:51grip on being able to call it out, catch it and move it in a
- 3:54different direction. It will own, you just like it
- 3:57owned me for the last 4 minutes and often does I I wanted to
- 4:02talk about this today because I realize it's such a big deal and
- 4:05it was just great that the Universe provided me that
- 4:08opportunity, while I was standing there, shooting the
- 4:11podcast for you. I didn't even wait to get the
- 4:13girls out. Here, they come.
- 4:14Now their door just opened. So it's one of those things
- 4:17where, you know, I was like I have to tell everybody this
- 4:20because this is a hard, this is a hard thing to learn.
- 4:23It is a very, very, very hard thing to learn and the quicker
- 4:27you start to recognize that the learning part Of.
- 4:30This is a very very, very long process that does not happen
- 4:37overnight. You have to be insanely patient
- 4:41with yourself. And you have to be willing to
- 4:43course, correct. And you have to be willing to
- 4:45recognize the pattern of overthinking and trying to do
- 4:48multiple thoughts. At the same time is something
- 4:51that we are taught to multitask and it is not healthy.
- 4:55So the point is don't beat yourself up.
- 4:59The point is Just catch it. Just bring yourself back.
- 5:03Just constantly be tapping on yourself and bringing yourself
- 5:06back note. This is what we're doing walking
- 5:08liked what I could have been doing the whole time, is paying
- 5:11attention to this. My surroundings.
- 5:13Walking the grass is cut. Oh, this is nice, air feels
- 5:17clean this morning. This is nice, bringing myself
- 5:21back to the moment, it always works.
- 5:23So, in this moment, I wish you guys a wonderful blessed day and
- 5:28I will see you tomorrow, and hopefully you will have A very
- 5:31good handle on the head. Chaos that happens.
- 5:34All right. My friends.
- 5:35Take care. Bye.
