- 2:17[SPEAKER_01]: Vitamin b nine over here.
- 2:19[SPEAKER_02]: previously in the Avengers.
- 2:21[SPEAKER_02]: Well, there's been a lot going on but to keep it simple.
- 2:24[SPEAKER_02]: A group of Avengers have been taken captive at the brand corporation by some evil men with some big evil plans led by Hugh Jones, the evil CEO of the brand corporation and his head of security buzz
- 2:41[SPEAKER_02]: who has been captured alongside the Avengers, and Rockson has brought in the Squadron Sinister, the supervillains from another universe.
- 2:48[SPEAKER_02]: Meanwhile, the rest of the Avengers have been battling Kang the Conqueror and the Old West.
- 2:53[SPEAKER_02]: Now, we mostly shift our attention to the heroes at brand, Captain America, Vision and the Scarlet Witch, the Beast Iron Man and a certain red-headed ally, Patsy Walker, who was about to get a whole new superhero identity on the cover.
- 3:09[SPEAKER_02]: Avengers assemble to meet the most fearsome new member of all.
- 3:12[SPEAKER_02]: You wanted her, you got her, the hell cat cometh taking center stage, hell cat her red hair blowing behind her, leaps down with black claw boots and black clawed hands in a fully yellow suit.
- 3:25[SPEAKER_02]: I cat cow on her head, raising it to peak tears, a black sash around her waist.
- 3:29[SPEAKER_02]: They leaped down towards men with guns, and there came a day.
- 3:33[SPEAKER_02]: A day unlike any other, when Earth's mightiest heroes and heroines found themselves united against a common threat.
- 3:40[SPEAKER_02]: On that day, the Avengers were born.
- 3:43[SPEAKER_02]: To fight the foes, no single superhero could withstand.
- 3:46[SPEAKER_02]: Through the years, their roster has prospered, changing many times, but their glory has never been denied.
- 3:52[SPEAKER_02]: He'd the call then, for now, the Avengers are symbols.
- 3:56[SPEAKER_02]: Stanley presents the mighty Avengers in claws not Santa Claus the claws that you scratch with claws now let us begin midnight on the multiple levels of Long Island's renowned brand corporation Sharp eyed watchman punched their time clocks, but six supposed prisoners continue to taste freedom just the same a journey through Wonderland with Steve Engelhart George Perez You can let us part I'm cutting all of that out because yeah
- 4:23[SPEAKER_02]: Chad couldn't let it go and let the narrator say it, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, no,
- 4:40[SPEAKER_00]: It's, it's so unreal.
- 4:42[SPEAKER_00]: I mean, it's all so unreal.
- 4:44[SPEAKER_07]: I know what you mean, Patty.
- 4:45[SPEAKER_07]: Agreed.
- 4:46[SPEAKER_02]: Learners, the visions computer mind and a voice others would find chilling.
- 4:51[SPEAKER_04]: And you, Patty Walker, are most unreal.
- 4:53[SPEAKER_04]: Only hours ago, the beast joined Captain America in combat against an army employed by brand.
- 4:59[SPEAKER_04]: We were determined to investigate when you appeared and somehow forced the beast to bring you with us.
- 5:03[SPEAKER_04]: A most unwise action since when we encountered the renegade squadron supreme, you lost our battle for us.
- 5:09[SPEAKER_04]: Your ex-husband head security here, your brain seems widely scattered, and we're far from out of the woods, and you call the situation unreal.
- 5:18[SPEAKER_05]: This whole hangar is new since I work here, can't I?
- 5:21[SPEAKER_02]: I don't know which way to head, but our heroes are being watched.
- 5:24[SPEAKER_02]: And Jones taunts them over an intercom while smoking a cigar with backster in the squadron supreme at his side.
- 5:32[SPEAKER_04]: Down the hall into the left, I believe.
- 5:35[SPEAKER_05]: Mother of Pearl, they're onto us already.
- 5:38[SPEAKER_05]: Rand, doesn't miss a trick.
- 5:39[SPEAKER_06]: But then Stark International would be just as tough to infiltrate.
- 5:42[SPEAKER_06]: Looks like we fight our way out, people.
- 5:44[SPEAKER_04]: Oh, no, Iron Man, we have no time for such amenities.
- 5:48[SPEAKER_04]: Through the best of the worst of fortunes your guide has led you into our eye.
- 5:53[SPEAKER_04]: classified weaponry section, so we shall simply destroy you.
- 5:58[SPEAKER_02]: In the far wall, some half a mile away, a posh portal has rolled back into its recesses, suddenly the darkness within is lit with the sulfurous glare and screaming thunder heralds the birth of disaster, the launched missile shakes the very walls.
- 6:15[SPEAKER_00]: Wanda!
- 6:15[SPEAKER_00]: That's a guided missile!
- 6:17[SPEAKER_07]: Stay calm, Patsy.
- 6:19[SPEAKER_07]: The worst thing you can do is lose your head.
- 6:21[SPEAKER_07]: You're with the Avengers.
- 6:22[SPEAKER_07]: We'll handle this.
- 6:23[SPEAKER_02]: The Scarlet Witch raises her hands.
- 6:25[SPEAKER_02]: A touch of crimson gauntlets, a furrow in her brow on the Scarlet Witch shows why.
- 6:31[SPEAKER_02]: More than ever, she deserves her ominous name.
- 6:34[SPEAKER_02]: Forged steel bends to her forged will and the missile misfires.
- 6:39[SPEAKER_02]: But, there's another bird already on its way.
- 6:41[SPEAKER_02]: Iron Man soon catches it, clanging and reprograms it.
- 6:45[SPEAKER_06]: This one's mine, Wanda, said a missile to catch a missile.
- 6:48[SPEAKER_06]: Sometimes I get the feeling that's all I am, but right about then, the man inside the armor always winds up being needed.
- 6:54[SPEAKER_06]: I remember who Tony Stark is, the greatest weapons expert alive.
- 6:58[SPEAKER_06]: I did it, the guidance system shot.
- 7:00[SPEAKER_02]: Maybe so, but the cost of triumph runs high today.
- 7:03[SPEAKER_02]: The unguided missile blasts up through the roof, while the whiplash hurls Iron Man into the other direction.
- 7:09[SPEAKER_07]: He's been thrown back at us.
- 7:10[SPEAKER_07]: Your bootjets, Avenger.
- 7:12[SPEAKER_02]: Use your.
- 7:12[SPEAKER_02]: Iron Man strikes the catwalk.
- 7:14[SPEAKER_02]: Oh, I am!
- 7:15[SPEAKER_02]: And the Avengers and Patsy are in free fall.
- 7:17[SPEAKER_02]: The beast grabs a steel girder, flips around and catches the scarlet witch.
- 7:21[SPEAKER_02]: The visions, okay?
- 7:22[SPEAKER_05]: He flies.
- 7:23[SPEAKER_05]: But if it weren't for my exceptionally long arms and my magnetic personality, he'd be picking his newlywed witch off the floor with a trail.
- 7:30[SPEAKER_05]: Do drop in, lady.
- 7:32[SPEAKER_05]: While below.
- 7:33[SPEAKER_04]: that takes care of them.
- 7:34[SPEAKER_04]: Now what about the girl and me?
- 7:37[SPEAKER_04]: I've got you and I've got my idea.
- 7:39[SPEAKER_02]: Adam's not here, so I'm just going full Leslie Jordan South for y'all.
- 7:42[SPEAKER_02]: Let's see Walker, Klings tight to the heroist they fall, keeping both heels on her feet.
- 7:47[SPEAKER_02]: Captain America, the world's greatest fighting machine.
- 7:50[SPEAKER_02]: Yet still unhurried, he spins his shield in a gleaming arc to strike precisely where he aimed at, to skid slowly down two narrow beams, as he and his burdens spin one last time above.
- 8:01[SPEAKER_02]: In fact, in a bizarre series of moods, Cap throws his shield to somehow absorb all the velocity as it hits the ground.
- 8:08[SPEAKER_02]: Cap and Patsy land on the shield and bounce off it like a trampoline, a roar of jets, a rush of wind, an ironman catches them both, Avengers teamwork pays off again.
- 8:17[SPEAKER_06]: That's one heck of a shield you have there, wing head.
- 8:20[SPEAKER_06]: But what would you have done if I'd been stunned?
- 8:22[SPEAKER_04]: Oh, I'd have thought of something.
- 8:23[SPEAKER_06]: Right now, I think we're still at back.
- 8:25[SPEAKER_06]: And they're still pitching.
- 8:26[SPEAKER_06]: Iron Man, listen, friend.
- 8:28[SPEAKER_06]: I can't catch these flies forever.
- 8:30[SPEAKER_06]: My money's on running for cover.
- 8:31[SPEAKER_06]: You with me?
- 8:32[SPEAKER_04]: The ladies are already voted with her feet, but he where I come from, majority rules.
- 8:36[SPEAKER_00]: Listen to them.
- 8:37[SPEAKER_00]: How can they joke in a time like this?
- 8:39[SPEAKER_05]: The heroes run as missiles fire all around them.
- 8:41[SPEAKER_07]: The others found a door down there.
- 8:43[SPEAKER_05]: I'm for that, hit it.
- 8:45[SPEAKER_05]: Wow, brand was big when I worked here before Rockson bought it, but what are they up to now?
- 8:50[SPEAKER_02]: And that's exactly the question Bennett and Philis Green and Jamaica Queens are asking themselves, exploding missiles right outside their window.
- 8:58[SPEAKER_02]: They don't crazy at that place.
- 9:00[SPEAKER_02]: I'm calling the cows baby.
- 9:02[SPEAKER_02]: That's it for Bennett Philis this month and forever.
- 9:04[SPEAKER_02]: But keep the faithful phone call in your thoughts
- 9:10[SPEAKER_00]: Where are we?
- 9:11[SPEAKER_04]: A storage area looks like on a level that doesn't see much use.
- 9:14[SPEAKER_04]: Couldn't be better.
- 9:15[SPEAKER_04]: Let's keep moving so they don't pin us down.
- 9:17[SPEAKER_04]: You know, she'll head.
- 9:18[SPEAKER_04]: Nobody's called me wing head like you just did since I left the Avengers last year.
- 9:22[SPEAKER_04]: I miss it.
- 9:23[SPEAKER_04]: I miss this group.
- 9:24[SPEAKER_06]: Things have been strange for you, eh?
- 9:25[SPEAKER_06]: Me too.
- 9:25[SPEAKER_00]: Hey, you guys, don't go so fast.
- 9:28[SPEAKER_06]: I see, you catch up to us around personally.
- 9:30[SPEAKER_06]: What in the world?
- 9:31[SPEAKER_06]: I don't believe it.
- 9:33[SPEAKER_04]: That costume it's.
- 9:35[SPEAKER_02]: As Patsy Walker stops to adjust her shoe, the Avengers notice the suit of Greer Nelson, the cat, laid out perfectly on a pair of boxes, like it was left there for them.
- 9:44[SPEAKER_04]: It seems to be the real goods.
- 9:46[SPEAKER_04]: I guess it would be if it's in this asylum, but how did it get here?
- 9:50[SPEAKER_06]: Brandon Rockson probably bought it just like they buy everything else.
- 9:53[SPEAKER_00]: You knew the cat?
- 9:54[SPEAKER_06]: No, I never met the lady, but I was in Chicago on Stark business when she appeared one rainy night.
- 9:59[SPEAKER_06]: The rumor and financial circles was that a crackpot named Donald Bane developed the costume and its powers for his own purposes.
- 10:05[SPEAKER_06]: But the woman who wore it turned against him when his purposes turned out to be illegal was never proof.
- 10:10[SPEAKER_06]: In any event, the cat only showed her faces four or five times before dropping from sight.
- 10:14[SPEAKER_06]: It was very odd.
- 10:15[SPEAKER_06]: She established a good reputation.
- 10:17[SPEAKER_02]: In a series of flashbacks, we see Greer Nelson, the cat in action, and the editor directs everyone towards the cat one through four and Marvel team up eight.
- 10:25[SPEAKER_02]: And hence, that she recently had a transformation into tiger, the aware woman.
- 10:31[SPEAKER_04]: And if you want, if you want more on the cat series, go listen to my interview with Linda Fight.
- 10:36[SPEAKER_04]: Yay, Linda, we love you.
- 10:37[SPEAKER_04]: And if you want more on Marvel team up eight, Sarah, a century, and I have a man killer episode out there where we talk about that crazy story.
- 10:44[SPEAKER_00]: Whatever happened, she didn't check it out.
- 10:45[SPEAKER_00]: I read a nuts about her to know that.
- 10:47[SPEAKER_00]: Yeah, fake app.
- 10:48[SPEAKER_04]: I'm way ahead of you, Shellhead.
- 10:50[SPEAKER_04]: I've been examined in the costume.
- 10:51[SPEAKER_04]: It's in perfect condition.
- 10:53[SPEAKER_04]: Miss Walker, could you play cat?
- 10:56[SPEAKER_02]: Q some more flashbacks from the long and sorted life of Patsy Walker to Captain America's shocking question.
- 11:02[SPEAKER_02]: Her answer comes back immediately.
- 11:04[SPEAKER_02]: And seemingly, not in a hurry, despite the missiles exploding everywhere.
- 11:07[SPEAKER_02]: Ladies and gentlemen, Miss Allison Perry.
- 11:09[SPEAKER_00]: I grew up like any other American girl, surfing, studying dancing, romancing, and battling continuously with my best friend, Heddy Wolf.
- 11:17[SPEAKER_00]: I don't know which was more fun at that age, the battling or romancing, but I knew from the start that buzzed backster was for me.
- 11:24[SPEAKER_00]: He was the nicest boy in town, still that didn't stop me from dreaming about the world outside centerfield.
- 11:29[SPEAKER_00]: Yuck!
- 11:30[SPEAKER_00]: And the superheroes.
- 11:31[SPEAKER_00]: Each night there was a new story on the news.
- 11:33[SPEAKER_00]: I couldn't hear enough about the new hero.
- 11:35[SPEAKER_00]: I had such a crush on Reed Richards.
- 11:38[SPEAKER_00]: I'd slept with his picture by my pillow, so I dream.
- 11:41[SPEAKER_00]: I was so happy the day he married to Storm.
- 11:43[SPEAKER_00]: I dragged Heddy off to the backstabilding, and we managed to wear him all the way right to the front.
- 11:48[SPEAKER_00]: But I never really got out of this set of ill. Buzz did when he joined the service.
- 11:51[SPEAKER_00]: He went to Vietnam, and he nearly died.
- 11:53[SPEAKER_00]: And when he came back, he was different.
- 11:54[SPEAKER_00]: But he still loved me, and that was all that matters.
- 11:57[SPEAKER_02]: We see an image of Patsy surfing in a blue tiger's striped bikini, making out with buzz on a ski slope.
- 12:03[SPEAKER_02]: Patsy dreaming under headlines about the fantastic Ford Daredevil and Spider-Man, Patsy dreamily looking at a really terrible picture of Reed Richards, then her cuddling with that picture and sleeping while dreaming of being a superwoman.
- 12:17[SPEAKER_02]: And in this dream, a man is firing a gun at her as she flies and she's wearing a blue dress.
- 12:22[SPEAKER_02]: Yellow gloves and boots really very Marvel girl green dress energy.
- 12:26[SPEAKER_02]: A yellow belt and a yellow pea on her shirt for Patsy.
- 12:30[SPEAKER_02]: No mask, then we see she and Hettie cheering behind a police barricade at the wedding of Reed and Sue in Fantastic Four annual three and then Patsy's own wedding.
- 12:39[SPEAKER_02]: And as the editor recommends Patsy Walker number 123, publish near the end of her solo comic title.
- 12:45[SPEAKER_04]: If you'll just look at the chat, can I just show you all this picture of Reed Richard?
- 12:47[SPEAKER_04]: She kept by her bed because it's horrifying.
- 12:51[SPEAKER_02]: It's very Kirby.
- 12:53[SPEAKER_02]: He's blocky a little bit.
- 12:54[SPEAKER_02]: He's worked out.
- 12:54[SPEAKER_00]: He's a little flat walkie boy life was hard those first years a lieutenant salary doesn't allow many luxuries.
- 13:00[SPEAKER_00]: I did my best to keep our quarters nice and make buzz it was happy, but he was so frustrated all the time with the wall winding down and all.
- 13:07[SPEAKER_00]: He'd come home and smolder all nine or else blow up on him.
- 13:11[SPEAKER_00]: I thought things would get better when he was promoted and sent a brand.
- 13:14[SPEAKER_00]: He thought so too since brand though civilian control has the government towards major client.
- 13:18[SPEAKER_00]: Buzz would be same there and promoted faster.
- 13:20[SPEAKER_00]: Only a mysterious beast was ravaging the corporation and buzz couldn't catch him.
- 13:25[SPEAKER_00]: He began to ignore me for his work and his investigation of Hank McCoy.
- 13:29[SPEAKER_00]: And then one morning I heard a knock on our door and opened it.
- 13:31[SPEAKER_02]: More flashbacks, Patsy, cleaning while Buzz does paperwork, Patsy sobbing while Buzz screams at her, Buzz shaking hands with a smoking corporation head, Patsy behind Buzz as he gives a speech, then back to amazing adventures, covered in early 2024, on chat show.
- 13:48[SPEAKER_02]: Patsy opens the door and her night gown and sees a blue furry beast, and yells.
- 13:52[SPEAKER_00]: in the world that East was wounded and passed out, I nursed him, not daring to leave his side to call buzz.
- 13:58[SPEAKER_00]: His wound was healing itself, but he was still in shock when all of a sudden he muttered in his delirium.
- 14:05[SPEAKER_05]: Why did I mutate?
- 14:06[SPEAKER_05]: Hank McCoy become real beast.
- 14:09[SPEAKER_00]: You babble everything in his delirium, and as I sat listening, I came to see what I would do about it.
- 14:15[SPEAKER_00]: I told him when he woke up.
- 14:16[SPEAKER_02]: In the past, we see beast convalescing on patsies, tiger or striped couch.
- 14:21[SPEAKER_02]: I'm not joking.
- 14:21[SPEAKER_02]: And as she stands over him and makes demands, what, how do I get here have to escape run?
- 14:27[SPEAKER_00]: You've been running all your life.
- 14:28[SPEAKER_00]: Haven't you Hank McCoy?
- 14:29[SPEAKER_05]: Huh?
- 14:30[SPEAKER_00]: Don't worry.
- 14:31[SPEAKER_00]: I'll keep your secret even from my husband.
- 14:33[SPEAKER_05]: If you'll make me a super heroine of what lady are you nuts?
- 14:38[SPEAKER_00]: Maybe.
- 14:38[SPEAKER_00]: Maybe so.
- 14:39[SPEAKER_00]: But you're in no position to call the candle black.
- 14:41[SPEAKER_00]: You're in big trouble basin.
- 14:43[SPEAKER_00]: I'm not asking for a miracle.
- 14:44[SPEAKER_00]: Just a costume with some power or a serum or something.
- 14:48[SPEAKER_00]: I know you'll all you heroes are friends.
- 14:50[SPEAKER_00]: Ask read Richard.
- 14:51[SPEAKER_05]: You are nuts, but you're also in charge.
- 14:53[SPEAKER_00]: Though we shook on, and I all abide in before buzz in the next day he disappeared.
- 14:58[SPEAKER_00]: Well, my marriage didn't last long after.
- 15:00[SPEAKER_00]: I spent the months after the divorce praying for that very thanks return and finally it came.
- 15:05[SPEAKER_00]: I ran him down, throw our packed up to him, and now Captain America asks me if I want to be the new cat!
- 15:10[SPEAKER_02]: We see Patsy earlier in the day seeing news that Beast has joined the Avengers.
- 15:15[SPEAKER_02]: She drops the paper and stomps over at her heels as she rushes out the door.
- 15:18[SPEAKER_02]: Now back in the present, with missiles still going off and after taking talking and after talking for three to three full pages, Patsy finally gives her answer to cap's question.
- 15:29[SPEAKER_04]: Yes, no, I'm sorry.
- 15:31[SPEAKER_04]: I changed my mind.
- 15:32[SPEAKER_04]: It was just an idea, but not a very good one.
- 15:34[SPEAKER_04]: It's too dangerous not after what happened to Bucky.
- 15:37[SPEAKER_02]: Roscoe.
- 15:38[SPEAKER_02]: Well, don't be an ass cap Captain America grieves the loss of two of his side kicks both killed by Nazis.
- 15:44[SPEAKER_04]: Now listen, I can't let another death be on my conscience.
- 15:48[SPEAKER_00]: Well, we only need the help we can get, and we're not doing so hot so far.
- 15:52[SPEAKER_00]: And either of you too would look silly in the outfits.
- 15:54[SPEAKER_00]: So we have it here.
- 15:55[SPEAKER_00]: But I know you think I'm just a silly female.
- 15:58[SPEAKER_00]: But what you don't know is I've waited all my life for this moment.
- 16:01[SPEAKER_00]: You couldn't stop me with a team of wild horses.
- 16:03[SPEAKER_00]: Hey, turn your backs, William.
- 16:05[SPEAKER_02]: Patsy grabs the costume out of Captain America's hands and starts taking off her blouse right in front of Captain American Ironman who swiftly turn away.
- 16:12[SPEAKER_02]: She just starts stripping.
- 16:15[SPEAKER_06]: This is another fine mess you've got, isn't it?
- 16:17[SPEAKER_02]: Now, wait a minute, Avenger, as I recall, you thought of it first.
- 16:20[SPEAKER_02]: In the shadows, Patsy strips down and pulls the suit over herself, finding it a perfect fit.
- 16:26[SPEAKER_02]: She puts the cow on.
- 16:27[SPEAKER_00]: Now now boys, brand obviously has no current use with this.
- 16:30[SPEAKER_00]: They brought the big leaders, the Squadron Supreme.
- 16:32[SPEAKER_06]: You think you're gonna stand any better chance against them than you did before?
- 16:36[SPEAKER_06]: They step on cats.
- 16:37[SPEAKER_00]: Then I'll be something more than a cat, turn around, gentlemen, and meet, how cats.
- 16:43[SPEAKER_02]: a glorious George Perez page.
- 16:46[SPEAKER_02]: Hellcat poses athletically on a stack of boxes.
- 16:49[SPEAKER_02]: She's not the site they expect to see.
- 16:52[SPEAKER_02]: The rumpled girl in the borrowed costume isn't there anymore.
- 16:55[SPEAKER_02]: Crouched in her place, claws gleaming in the feeble lamplight is a far more impressive form, a far more sinister form, even Iron Man catches his breath.
- 17:05[SPEAKER_02]: And even as he does, another Avenger is exhaling.
- 17:08[SPEAKER_02]: In Tombstone, Arizona, 1873,
- 17:13[SPEAKER_06]: Goodbye, Tugun.
- 17:14[SPEAKER_06]: I have to say I enjoyed it a lot.
- 17:15[SPEAKER_03]: Eng and Immortus video more.
- 17:17[SPEAKER_03]: Thus, his time to return to the year from once we came in the Conqueror's own times here.
- 17:22[SPEAKER_06]: You and the others have your act down.
- 17:23[SPEAKER_07]: If you really mean that Hawkeye, that I have a favorite ask.
- 17:26[SPEAKER_07]: Take me with you.
- 17:27[SPEAKER_01]: Are you serious cowboy?
- 17:29[SPEAKER_01]: I've enjoyed my journey to America's past, but the future is not meant for man to know.
- 17:33[SPEAKER_07]: I've been given it a lot of thought, Moon Dragon.
- 17:36[SPEAKER_07]: I've always been more of an adventure than a simple lawman.
- 17:39[SPEAKER_07]: And there are more adventures to be found with y'all than in my own time.
- 17:42[SPEAKER_03]: Well spoken, my friend, but though that this exhibit great daring here this day, what of skills and our knowledge of our advanced civilization?
- 17:50[SPEAKER_06]: I can manage.
- 17:51[SPEAKER_02]: Hawkeye puts an arm around his friend, then seems to hold his hand.
- 17:55[SPEAKER_06]: I believe you too, Gunn, but just in case you need me help, you're going to have yourself a personal teacher.
- 18:00[SPEAKER_06]: You can come along with me because as of when we get back, I'm leaving the Avengers again.
- 18:04[SPEAKER_02]: more on that next issue.
- 18:06[SPEAKER_02]: Okay, but we pause.
- 18:07[SPEAKER_04]: Just like I did just show you this panel and I want to be from Derek and then Sarah, how are Thor and Moon Dragon reacting to Hawkeye's announcement that he's leaving the Avengers like just what's what's going on for each of them individually.
- 18:21[SPEAKER_01]: They're both like, wow, it's like the most scandalous thing they've literally ever seen.
- 18:27[SPEAKER_01]: And also, I just want to say that the reason Hawkeye's taking time off is so he can hang out with this boy friend.
- 18:33[SPEAKER_04]: This is cute.
- 18:35[SPEAKER_04]: They just traveled back in time 150 years to get this guy.
- 18:38[SPEAKER_04]: He's like, yeah, thanks.
- 18:39[SPEAKER_03]: Bye.
- 18:39[SPEAKER_03]: And it was a little disgusted.
- 18:41[SPEAKER_03]: But they also have like the same basics that Moon Dragon has thicker lips.
- 18:45[SPEAKER_03]: So.
- 18:47[SPEAKER_01]: The story is like having a stroke as soon as possible frankly and like more than upset I would say.
- 18:55[SPEAKER_02]: But more on that next issue actually in three issues but we'll get to that later.
- 18:59[SPEAKER_02]: But now back at the brand corporation quickly for the actions getting underway back where we began.
- 19:04[SPEAKER_02]: Vision is facing through a wall and sees Patsy's new costume.
- 19:08[SPEAKER_04]: At last I was beginning to think I would never find you.
- 19:10[SPEAKER_04]: But what is this?
- 19:11[SPEAKER_04]: Is that Miss Walker?
- 19:13[SPEAKER_00]: Miss Walker please?
- 19:15[SPEAKER_04]: There's no time to explain, vision, you're correct.
- 19:18[SPEAKER_04]: I'll contact the others on my Avengers Transceiver.
- 19:20[SPEAKER_07]: Right, darling.
- 19:21[SPEAKER_07]: Got it.
- 19:21[SPEAKER_07]: We'll be right there.
- 19:22[SPEAKER_02]: Yeah.
- 19:23[SPEAKER_02]: Bye, darling.
- 19:24[SPEAKER_02]: Beast gets a word in on Wanda's Transceiver.
- 19:27[SPEAKER_02]: And soon, the sextet regroups, ready to make plans for their next escape attempt.
- 19:32[SPEAKER_02]: As soon as they accustom themselves to the Hellcat, it's just as well.
- 19:36[SPEAKER_02]: They waited.
- 19:36[SPEAKER_02]: Well, the Lats!
- 19:38[SPEAKER_02]: Hyperion, Lady Lark, Dr.
- 19:40[SPEAKER_02]: Spectrum Golden Archer, the wizard, the squadron
- 19:45[SPEAKER_02]: leaving it to the Avengers to make the first move.
- 19:47[SPEAKER_02]: With no holds bar, the battle is joined and nearby.
- 19:51[SPEAKER_02]: Mr. Jones.
- 19:52[SPEAKER_02]: What is it, backster?
- 19:54[SPEAKER_07]: The police served.
- 19:54[SPEAKER_07]: There's a squad outside demanding interests because of those missiles.
- 19:57[SPEAKER_02]: Remember that phone call?
- 19:59[SPEAKER_02]: Jones reaches forward and pushes a simple red button, opening a dimensional portal.
- 20:04[SPEAKER_02]: Last.
- 20:04[SPEAKER_02]: Not now, not with that five going on.
- 20:06[SPEAKER_02]: Oh my god, what just happened to me?
- 20:10[SPEAKER_04]: Now you know what we have to go through.
- 20:11[SPEAKER_04]: Well, Puffy talk, I know it's really funny because I got the opposite side of this actually.
- 20:15[SPEAKER_04]: Blast, not now, not with the fight going on.
- 20:17[SPEAKER_04]: There's only one thing to do.
- 20:18[SPEAKER_04]: He just became British.
- 20:19[SPEAKER_04]: Let's just have to do some sort of thing.
- 20:21[SPEAKER_07]: You do, sir.
- 20:22[SPEAKER_07]: What was that, first of all, down there?
- 20:23[SPEAKER_04]: I did what was necessary, Colonel.
- 20:25[SPEAKER_04]: I did your job protecting corporate security.
- 20:28[SPEAKER_04]: I got rid of the evidence, Mr.
- 20:31[SPEAKER_04]: I sent him all back to the squadron's world.
- 20:34[SPEAKER_02]: Sure enough, both teams are sucked into a spiraling portal.
- 20:39[SPEAKER_02]: A battle royale, crisis on the other earth, but before our story can continue, we get a two partner that interrupts it.
- 20:48[SPEAKER_02]: In Avengers 145, Jenny is a Bella and Scott Edelman stepping as writers with done heck on pencils, John Tartagum, thinks Don Warfield on colors, Dave Hunt on letters, and Marv Wolfman as the editor.
- 21:00[SPEAKER_02]: 146, keep Polard and Patrick O'Burg are on the team.
- 21:03[SPEAKER_02]: On the cover, a man dressed like an executioner, complete with black tunic, hood over the face, all over Chamele with red gloves and a huge alien-looking gun.
- 21:12[SPEAKER_02]: They're throwing photographs into the air that make it look like Iron Man, Thor Hawkeye, Vision and Captain America are dead, and they say...
- 21:20[SPEAKER_07]: They paid me $1 billion to murder the Avengers, and the assassin never fails.
- 21:26[SPEAKER_02]: And on page 1, the editor tells us, we meant to bring you more of the squadrons of pre-msag of this time around, but the dreaded deadline doom struck again, catches cacophonous continuation in an Avengers 147.
- 21:38[SPEAKER_02]: But for now, just sit tight and enjoy the next two issues.
- 21:41[SPEAKER_02]: You'll love them.
- 21:42[SPEAKER_02]: Stanley presents the ticking of the Avengers.
- 21:45[SPEAKER_04]: Y'all, this is one of the dumbest script reads we will ever do on great mock-and-laying this next two issues.
- 21:50[SPEAKER_04]: But here we go.
- 21:51[SPEAKER_04]: It's gonna be fun.
- 21:52[SPEAKER_02]: It feels like a leftover DC comic story line or something with like, I don't know, I just feels very destruct all the time.
- 21:57[SPEAKER_02]: I felt stupid or after typing these two issues.
- 22:01[SPEAKER_01]: The Assassin's design is bananas in case anybody hasn't seen it who is listening just a note.
- 22:08[SPEAKER_02]: We just check it out.
- 22:09[SPEAKER_02]: Okay, we open on an image of Thor, Iron Man, Captain America Vision.
- 22:12[SPEAKER_02]: And if you squint, you can see her in the background, the Scarlet Witch, facing the garrishly clad furry cosplayers, the Zodiac.
- 22:21[SPEAKER_02]: We can see Taurus, Leo, Pisces and Aries here.
- 22:23[SPEAKER_02]: The assassin is watching old footage of an Avengers battle.
- 22:26[SPEAKER_02]: Chapter 1 is Billion Dollar Death.
- 22:29[SPEAKER_04]: Ruth brother hat.
- 22:33[SPEAKER_07]: It's all about headwear cosplay.
- 22:36[SPEAKER_07]: So, the Avengers are to be my next assignment.
- 22:39[SPEAKER_07]: Challenging.
- 22:39[SPEAKER_02]: Right there with that hat.
- 22:41[SPEAKER_02]: Oh, the Assassin watches more videos.
- 22:45[SPEAKER_02]: The Avengers fighting the Grim Reaper and Hydra back when Black Panther was on the team.
- 22:49[SPEAKER_02]: And Hawkeye was in his little sexy skirt outfit.
- 22:52[SPEAKER_02]: Thor fighting the Asgardian destroyer.
- 22:54[SPEAKER_02]: Captain America punching out Moonstone, Iron Man trading blows with Dr.
- 22:58[SPEAKER_02]: Spectrum.
- 22:58[SPEAKER_02]: The vision fighting Magneto.
- 23:00[SPEAKER_02]: Hawkeye fighting Zax.
- 23:02[SPEAKER_02]: The Assassin stands in full costume.
- 23:04[SPEAKER_02]: gay as character you've maybe ever seen sits in a chair showing him videos.
- 23:10[SPEAKER_02]: This man looks like an angry martin short with a receding hairline and dyed yellow hair slicked back.
- 23:17[SPEAKER_02]: He's wearing a bright purple turtle neck underneath a plum suit jacket and the sleeves of his turd like poke out of the sleeves in the jacket.
- 23:23[SPEAKER_02]: He's never named so we'll just call him the proctor.
- 23:27[SPEAKER_02]: flashback freaks tonight's movie comes courtesy of Avengers 120 Avengers 108 Thor 224 Captain America 175 Ironman 63 Avengers 110 in Hulk 166 you these films how did you obtain them one can obtain most anything these days for our price
- 23:45[SPEAKER_07]: or, yes, undoubtedly the most powerful Avenger, he will be the most difficult captain of America.
- 23:51[SPEAKER_05]: In many ways, the spirits of the Avengers, his early defeat could prove beneficial, demoralize the others, or make them all the more determined to avenge him.
- 24:04[SPEAKER_05]: Iron Man, the second
- 24:07[SPEAKER_05]: Though not as invulnerable as Thor, the vision, a synthetic man, his mind is human, but computer quick, don't give him a chance to use it, you'll regret it.
- 24:18[SPEAKER_07]: I regret only that you feel the need to offer suggestions, Hawkeye.
- 24:23[SPEAKER_05]: Brash, hotheaded, overconfident, but still a threat to Avengers, possibly the
- 24:33[SPEAKER_07]: We will step outside while I consider this venture.
- 24:35[SPEAKER_02]: The odd pair walk outside onto a golf course with a set of clubs.
- 24:41[SPEAKER_02]: The assassin hitting a few balls as they talk business.
- 24:44[SPEAKER_02]: Who wants them?
- 24:45[SPEAKER_05]: You hardly.
- 24:46[SPEAKER_05]: I'm simply acting as an agent for several of their old enemies.
- 24:51[SPEAKER_05]: They all contributed funds to this endeavor.
- 24:54[SPEAKER_05]: They want
- 24:55[SPEAKER_05]: you to handle the assignment.
- 24:57[SPEAKER_05]: I see.
- 24:58[SPEAKER_05]: How much are you prepared to offer?
- 25:00[SPEAKER_05]: One billion dollars.
- 25:03[SPEAKER_05]: Expenses?
- 25:04[SPEAKER_05]: Up to an additional billion.
- 25:07[SPEAKER_07]: I will need time to prepare.
- 25:08[SPEAKER_07]: A year should be sufficient.
- 25:10[SPEAKER_05]: a year a year your clients will not want to wait that long for their vengeance.
- 25:16[SPEAKER_07]: They are not my clients unless they accept my terms.
- 25:20[SPEAKER_07]: The Avengers are difficult assignment a year.
- 25:23[SPEAKER_05]: Agreed.
- 25:24[SPEAKER_07]: Then one year from now my friend will see the beginning of the end of the Avengers.
- 25:29[SPEAKER_07]: For as you know, the assassin never fails.
- 25:32[SPEAKER_02]: And as the assassin gets a hole in one, and chapter one, chapter two, target Captain America.
- 25:39[SPEAKER_02]: We moved to Captain America in full costume fighting a gang of jewel thieves during an active robbery.
- 25:46[SPEAKER_02]: They're all wearing suit jackets and carrying guns, but they all also have Captain America, Halloween masks on.
- 25:53[SPEAKER_02]: amazing.
- 25:54[SPEAKER_04]: Okay, so if you all listen to the show, you will have heard the episode of the Captain Britain script read where Adam Kassari from Homo Superior came on and read Captain America as Leslie Jordan.
- 26:04[SPEAKER_04]: As I'm typing these up, I have him in my brain now.
- 26:06[SPEAKER_04]: He broke me and I will never hear Steve Rogers the same.
- 26:09[SPEAKER_06]: He makes it.
- 26:10[SPEAKER_06]: Okay, here we go.
- 26:11[SPEAKER_04]: Hey, fellas, what's with the mask?
- 26:13[SPEAKER_04]: Isn't that Adam insult to armed robbery?
- 26:15[SPEAKER_04]: It's the real Captain America.
- 26:17[SPEAKER_01]: Waste him.
- 26:18[SPEAKER_02]: It's been a long night.
- 26:19[SPEAKER_02]: The pushes have been hit tonight, hit hard.
- 26:22[SPEAKER_02]: He feels proud, perhaps just one kid's passage and demand hood has been made easier by his deeds this evening.
- 26:28[SPEAKER_02]: That's all the word there's ever been.
- 26:30[SPEAKER_02]: Whether he's fought the Nazis or the pushes are common thugs, the knowledge that because of what he's done today, someone tomorrow will be easier.
- 26:38[SPEAKER_02]: It's been a long night and it's not over yet.
- 26:41[SPEAKER_04]: When he says, maybe he just helped one kid's passage into manhood, what am I?
- 26:50[SPEAKER_05]: You can't be us all.
- 26:57[SPEAKER_04]: You know, I figure I've heard that line maybe a hundred thousand times by now, but what none of you clowns takes into account is that I've spent a lifetime training to be able to do just that.
- 27:06[SPEAKER_04]: That's literally it's murder.
- 27:08[SPEAKER_04]: That's the sound.
- 27:11[SPEAKER_04]: Tiss, tiss, you're not paying attention.
- 27:14[SPEAKER_04]: I was wondering when the shooting was going to start, you might as well get it out of your systems.
- 27:18[SPEAKER_04]: It generally doesn't last long.
- 27:19[SPEAKER_04]: Oh, uh, don't boost thug three.
- 27:21[SPEAKER_04]: Oh, uh.
- 27:23[SPEAKER_02]: Cap slams into one man with a shield.
- 27:25[SPEAKER_02]: Dang, punches another in the gut.
- 27:27[SPEAKER_02]: Boom, then puts a shield up to blocks and bullets.
- 27:30[SPEAKER_02]: Dang, chang, then it's a fist that a shield to the faces of two more.
- 27:34[SPEAKER_02]: Bam, clunk, but one more is sneaking up behind Cap.
- 27:38[SPEAKER_04]: This group knows all the cliches.
- 27:39[SPEAKER_04]: Here's the big Hulk and brute sneaking up on me from behind routine.
- 27:43[SPEAKER_04]: Of course, he's breathing so heavily.
- 27:45[SPEAKER_04]: They can hear him in Jersey.
- 27:46[SPEAKER_04]: And he still thinks he's catching me off guard.
- 27:48[SPEAKER_04]: In a way, I almost hate to do this.
- 27:50[SPEAKER_04]: It's like given a trick question to an underachiever.
- 27:53[SPEAKER_02]: Cap slams him into the wall.
- 27:55[SPEAKER_02]: Head first, clump.
- 27:56[SPEAKER_02]: But the last thug hits him with a garbage can.
- 27:59[SPEAKER_02]: Swam and his cap falls to his knees.
- 28:02[SPEAKER_02]: The final thug draws a knife.
- 28:04[SPEAKER_04]: Take this, wing head.
- 28:06[SPEAKER_04]: Oh, I was careless.
- 28:07[SPEAKER_04]: He got me when I was thinking.
- 28:10[SPEAKER_04]: He got me when I was thinking clever thoughts.
- 28:14[SPEAKER_06]: You cast him to hot shots all, thank you so tough.
- 28:17[SPEAKER_06]: Let's see what you think after I cut all into those fancy duds.
- 28:20[SPEAKER_02]: But Captain America pushes against the wall and kicks back like a horse with his back legs, knock in the man down.
- 28:27[SPEAKER_02]: But one of the first thugs is back up and running.
- 28:29[SPEAKER_04]: There's a there's a scene in the Captain Britain with Adam where Captain Britain knocks down a door to find the red skull inside and then he goes, okay, crud.
- 28:37[SPEAKER_04]: That's my favorite thing now forever.
- 28:41[SPEAKER_04]: When will you punks learn?
- 28:43[SPEAKER_04]: It's not the clothes that make the man, it's the man who makes him sail.
- 28:48[SPEAKER_04]: The last of my playmates is taken off.
- 28:50[SPEAKER_04]: Since his piles will be out for hours and since I hate to leave loose ends line about, I'll just have to go after him.
- 28:56[SPEAKER_04]: Say he runs like he was a track star.
- 28:59[SPEAKER_02]: Uh-oh, on a nearby roof, the assassin is watching.
- 29:02[SPEAKER_07]: All goes according to plan.
- 29:04[SPEAKER_07]: Agent 71 is luring Captain America into position on schedule.
- 29:08[SPEAKER_01]: He's faster than we calculated.
- 29:10[SPEAKER_01]: He must not catch me until I'm in position.
- 29:13[SPEAKER_04]: Give it up, Mr. You're not going to lose me.
- 29:15[SPEAKER_04]: In fact, since I've now got room to sling my trusty shield, you're taking a fall, capthroves his shield and knocks the man over.
- 29:23[SPEAKER_04]: Ew!
- 29:23[SPEAKER_04]: It's talking time, Mr. Start with why you and your buddies are wearing duplicates of my mask.
- 29:29[SPEAKER_04]: Don't leave out any of the fascinating details.
- 29:33[SPEAKER_07]: The masks were a neat little addition I thought.
- 29:35[SPEAKER_07]: They did draw your attention, did they not?
- 29:38[SPEAKER_02]: What?
- 29:39[SPEAKER_02]: Just behind Captain America, the assassin, a red dagger now visible on his cloak.
- 29:44[SPEAKER_02]: Climbs down a ladder holding a bright red gun.
- 29:47[SPEAKER_07]: Such a pity your last words couldn't have contained a touch more grandeur, Captain.
- 29:51[SPEAKER_07]: Boy, hardly seems a fit epitaph to close life as glory written as your own.
- 29:56[SPEAKER_07]: Get high feared, we'll have to suffice.
- 29:58[SPEAKER_02]: are.
- 29:59[SPEAKER_02]: A single shutters fired and cap is knocked out in an explosion of light.
- 30:04[SPEAKER_01]: You did it.
- 30:04[SPEAKER_07]: You killed Captain America.
- 30:06[SPEAKER_07]: He is not dead.
- 30:07[SPEAKER_07]: Do not mistake me.
- 30:08[SPEAKER_07]: His death is inevitable.
- 30:10[SPEAKER_07]: But in his present state, clinging vainly to a fast fading spark of life, he becomes a most necessary component of my plan to kill the Avengers.
- 30:18[SPEAKER_02]: A change of scenery to an old woman in a purple dress.
- 30:22[SPEAKER_02]: Lord knows she hasn't had it easy these days, trying to fit a fixed pension to ever spiraling costs.
- 30:28[SPEAKER_02]: So, when the woman came this morning and offered her $1,000 to make one phone call, it seemed a better answer to her economic difficulties than a win button.
- 30:37[SPEAKER_02]: She's not doing anything illegal.
- 30:38[SPEAKER_02]: In fact, reporting this tragedy, she's simply behaving as a concerned member of the community who has unfortunately,
- 30:45[SPEAKER_02]: Never asked herself, what prevents her generous employer from making this call himself, or phone ring?
- 30:52[SPEAKER_02]: And the instruction is given.
- 30:55[SPEAKER_01]: I'll make the call right away.
- 30:57[SPEAKER_01]: Operator, give me the police.
- 30:58[SPEAKER_01]: I think there's been a murder.
- 31:00[SPEAKER_07]: She's making the call now.
- 31:02[SPEAKER_07]: It is best if the police do not have an anonymous phone call and an unknown assailant.
- 31:07[SPEAKER_07]: Take the old woman her 30 pieces of silver.
- 31:09[SPEAKER_07]: You do have the specially prepared bills.
- 31:12[SPEAKER_01]: Of course, I hope the old fool enjoys counting her money.
- 31:15[SPEAKER_01]: The poison we've coated the bills with will kill her in a matter of days.
- 31:19[SPEAKER_07]: As the similar substance I've coated the inside of your mask with will do for you, my fabulous friend.
- 31:25[SPEAKER_07]: If the assassin never fails, it is because the assassin never leaves anything to chance.
- 31:30[SPEAKER_07]: When the assignment is finished, I will be a billion dollars richer.
- 31:34[SPEAKER_07]: And all those who could possibly link me with the Avengers' death, we likewise departed, all in all, a rather satisfactory errant.
- 31:40[SPEAKER_02]: From the distance, there's a low-wailing, Syrians drawn closer to what could possibly be the end of a legend.
- 31:47[SPEAKER_02]: Not merely the living legend known as Captain America, but also the Avengers themselves, and Chapter Two.
- 31:53[SPEAKER_02]: Now, Chapter Three, the small hours, poetic name for the twilight time that lies but twixed midnight and dawn.
- 32:01[SPEAKER_02]: Yet, if those hours be so scat, why does each one seem to last an eternity on this tense night?
- 32:08[SPEAKER_02]: Now, let us shift to Ironman and Thor in full costume, getting bad news from some doctors in a hospital.
- 32:14[SPEAKER_06]: Thor, what is it?
- 32:15[SPEAKER_06]: I've never seen you look so grim.
- 32:17[SPEAKER_03]: Is these charts Ironman and the far grimters truth that they do reveal?
- 32:22[SPEAKER_06]: I wish I could be more optimistic Avengers, but the awful fact is, Captain America is dying and we don't know why.
- 32:28[SPEAKER_03]: Blame not vice self-doctor, we thank thee for all the art, the tempting to do.
- 32:32[SPEAKER_06]: I wish it could be more, a long time ago during the war, Captain America saved my life.
- 32:37[SPEAKER_06]: A man doesn't forget something like that.
- 32:39[SPEAKER_06]: Maybe it's time we got another opinion, Thor.
- 32:41[SPEAKER_06]: Like perhaps that of Dr. Don Blake.
- 32:43[SPEAKER_03]: What if the captain's unknown enemies should attack a new?
- 32:46[SPEAKER_03]: That wouldn't need the power of Thor then.
- 32:48[SPEAKER_06]: It's a chance we'll have to take old buddy, still.
- 32:50[SPEAKER_06]: The mere presence of Thor should deter them from trying again.
- 32:54[SPEAKER_03]: I understand you're not Iron Man.
- 32:55[SPEAKER_06]: You will, once we reach my Long Island Complex.
- 32:59[SPEAKER_02]: And the two Avengers take to the skies, just as Hawkeye is arriving outside.
- 33:03[SPEAKER_06]: Cap, darling, I still can't believe it.
- 33:05[SPEAKER_06]: I guess I always thought of Winghead as indestructible, huh?
- 33:07[SPEAKER_06]: Where our shell had and Goldilocks running off, too.
- 33:10[SPEAKER_06]: I thought we were supposed to keep Cap on a constant guard in case the creeps who dropped him come back for seconds, even though all things considered.
- 33:17[SPEAKER_06]: That's like locking the garage after the catty's been hotwired.
- 33:20[SPEAKER_06]: But what the, hey, they probably know what they're doing, which is more than this archer can say for himself.
- 33:25[SPEAKER_06]: Got so wrapped up in my thoughts.
- 33:26[SPEAKER_06]: I lost my way, hey, ah, this place can't be that big.
- 33:30[SPEAKER_06]: If I keep walking all,
- 33:31[SPEAKER_02]: Hawkeye wanders through the hallways for a time, getting lost, and soon comes upon two fishy-looking aliens in blue and purple costumes, both carrying guns.
- 33:54[SPEAKER_02]: The last certified fuzzack, but Hawkeye responds with an electric arrow thwommm, ticking down one of the foes.
- 34:01[SPEAKER_06]: Yep, definitely the bad guy.
- 34:02[SPEAKER_06]: Badie number two gets one of my special items.
- 34:04[SPEAKER_06]: The thermal arrow that will make his hot little hands even more so.
- 34:08[SPEAKER_02]: And I'm not sure how this one works.
- 34:10[SPEAKER_02]: The arrow is fired into the barrel of the gun.
- 34:13[SPEAKER_02]: And it heats up so that the bad guy drops it, but the alien soon runs, dropping a smoke bomb behind them.
- 34:23[SPEAKER_05]: This smoke screen will cover our escape.
- 34:27[SPEAKER_02]: And when, said screen has lifted.
- 34:29[SPEAKER_06]: They're gone.
- 34:30[SPEAKER_06]: For all the good it'll do them.
- 34:31[SPEAKER_06]: Those costumes are theirs or not exactly what I would call the Screet.
- 34:34[SPEAKER_02]: But after a rapid search by the hospital security guards, not a trace of them, sir.
- 34:39[SPEAKER_06]: No, no trace, huh?
- 34:40[SPEAKER_06]: Well, don't worry about it.
- 34:41[SPEAKER_06]: I'm going to take more than those two to hassle the Avengers.
- 34:44[SPEAKER_06]: But what if there's more than two of them?
- 34:46[SPEAKER_02]: What then?
- 34:46[SPEAKER_02]: Even while Hawkeye considers possible futures, the beast is likewise lost in thought as he maintains a solemn vigil outside their fallen teammates' room through killing me.
- 34:57[SPEAKER_02]: He sits near the scar that witch as the vision stands in the door all in full costume.
- 35:02[SPEAKER_02]: Ruth keeps changing head gear during the her parts.
- 35:05[SPEAKER_02]: It's adorable, everyone.
- 35:07[SPEAKER_05]: It's not hard to figure out what those two have on their minds, and you just have to look at their faces.
- 35:12[SPEAKER_05]: They're each thinking that it could be the other, lying in that tiny room right now.
- 35:16[SPEAKER_05]: He shows no sign of consciousness.
- 35:19[SPEAKER_07]: It can't end like this darling, it just can't.
- 35:22[SPEAKER_05]: But it can, Wanda.
- 35:23[SPEAKER_05]: That's something you've known since the swordsman died months ago.
- 35:27[SPEAKER_05]: The shadow of death has hung over this group ever since hasn't it?
- 35:30[SPEAKER_05]: It almost claimed yellow jacket and the wasp just weeks ago.
- 35:34[SPEAKER_05]: Is this the day death claims a second avenger?
- 35:38[SPEAKER_07]: I keep hoping it's all the bad dream.
- 35:40[SPEAKER_07]: Steve Rogers has been part of my life longer than anybody except my brother Pietro.
- 35:44[SPEAKER_07]: He's got to pull through.
- 35:45[SPEAKER_06]: I have people's already on late.
- 35:47[SPEAKER_04]: The guards told us of your battle.
- 35:48[SPEAKER_06]: Okay.
- 35:49[SPEAKER_06]: It wasn't exactly a battle viz, more of a skirmish.
- 35:52[SPEAKER_06]: Anyway, my playmates have split.
- 35:53[SPEAKER_06]: So the rest of you can grab some shut-eye.
- 35:55[SPEAKER_06]: I'll hold down the forward until I'll shell hadn't Goldie logs get back.
- 35:59[SPEAKER_06]: And can the long faces, huh?
- 36:00[SPEAKER_06]: Caps going to be okay.
- 36:01[SPEAKER_02]: Beast in the Scarlet Witch depart.
- 36:03[SPEAKER_06]: What about you, partner?
- 36:04[SPEAKER_06]: Why don't you give your molecules a rest?
- 36:06[SPEAKER_04]: I do not require sleep, Hawkeye.
- 36:08[SPEAKER_04]: And I believe I can even endure your restlessness.
- 36:11[SPEAKER_04]: Vision is a little shady at this.
- 36:14[SPEAKER_06]: Yes!
- 36:15[SPEAKER_04]: Way to go, Viz.
- 36:16[SPEAKER_06]: Glad to have you on board.
- 36:17[SPEAKER_06]: And like I said, don't, don't sweat about cap.
- 36:18[SPEAKER_06]: All of the thusala and there has more lives than a saber tooth.
- 36:21[SPEAKER_04]: Perhaps you are correct, Hawkeye.
- 36:23[SPEAKER_04]: He does seem to be resting comfortably.
- 36:25[SPEAKER_04]: And just really quick.
- 36:26[SPEAKER_04]: This is the intro episode for the month that's gonna feature saber tooth all month long.
- 36:30[SPEAKER_04]: So the issue is called claws.
- 36:32[SPEAKER_04]: And we have a mention of a saber tooth.
- 36:33[SPEAKER_04]: Yay!
- 36:34[SPEAKER_04]: Get going.
- 36:35[SPEAKER_06]: Jerviz, my chairful acted in Connie for a second, did it.
- 36:38[SPEAKER_06]: Boy, talk about mine tricks.
- 36:40[SPEAKER_06]: A time like this and all I can think of is how I used to argue with Cap all the time.
- 36:43[SPEAKER_06]: I was a hot headed ego trip or then.
- 36:45[SPEAKER_06]: Maybe I haven't really changed, but despite all the dumping on Cap I did, he never gave up on me.
- 36:50[SPEAKER_06]: He trained me like I was his best friend.
- 36:53[SPEAKER_06]: He wouldn't quit until he had made me everything I could possibly be.
- 36:56[SPEAKER_06]: And when I needed a buddy, Cap was there.
- 36:58[SPEAKER_06]: It all adds up to one thing.
- 36:59[SPEAKER_06]: Cap turned a side show archer into an avenger, but if he doesn't pull through, somebody's gonna learn what it means, the hard way.
- 37:05[SPEAKER_02]: Hawkeye's thoughts flush across his visage, like headlines to one such as you, Android, more flashbacks.
- 37:12[SPEAKER_02]: Hawkeye yelling at Cap, Cap, training Hawkeye in the gym.
- 37:15[SPEAKER_02]: Cap and Hawkeye walking literally arms around each other's shoulders, and the two fighting the sons of the serpent.
- 37:21[SPEAKER_02]: Yet, even if your computer brain could not exactly gauge heartbeat, analyze, perspiration, and compare a present expression with current expression, you would know his thoughts for they are yours as well.
- 37:33[SPEAKER_02]: Not many men have accepted you as human.
- 37:36[SPEAKER_02]: Captain America was one of these, and when you faced your greatest moral crisis,
- 37:40[SPEAKER_02]: He believed in you, put his life in your hand, a flashback in his mind to fight in the space Phantom with cap in Avengers 108, such as your thoughts vision, thoughts of vengeance, though they be, of supreme dissentress to the one whose deeds have earned that vengeance.
- 37:55[SPEAKER_02]: Captain America lies in pajamas and his blue mask in a hospital bed and the assassin watches on a screen nearby.
- 38:02[SPEAKER_07]: on suspecting fools, they still believe the danger tracks only their fallen comrades and not they themselves, with the exception of the two delts now sadly deceased who allowed Hawkeye to spot them by plan as unfolding perfectly.
- 38:16[SPEAKER_07]: It is time to begin my personal involvement with this phase of the plan by pity the Avengers for this night death walks among them and they know it not.
- 38:25[SPEAKER_02]: Finally, 146 on the cover.
- 38:28[SPEAKER_02]: Vision Iron Man Captain America Hawkeye and Thor rush its someone who has them right in their targets caught in the crossfire of the uncanny assassin.
- 38:37[SPEAKER_02]: The cover suggests that the story will be titled the better to kill them with.
- 38:41[SPEAKER_02]: But inside, it is called the assassin never fail.
- 38:44[SPEAKER_02]: The editor on page one tells us, there's an autographed no prize in the works for the true believer who can tell us exactly where there's two part or tail falls in the Avengers continuity.
- 38:52[SPEAKER_02]: Happy hunting, Effendi.
- 38:54[SPEAKER_02]: Inside of Edress Mansion, the Falcon stands stoically while Yellowjack it hovers over the wasp.
- 38:59[SPEAKER_02]: But she is worried about the Scarlet Witch, who looks out the window, a single tear rolling down her cheek.
- 39:05[SPEAKER_02]: The beast soon joins them and we open with some remembrances of how we got here.
- 39:10[SPEAKER_05]: Avengers possibly might be a single force on this planet and you take them.
- 39:15[SPEAKER_07]: How much are you prepared to offer one billion dollars?
- 39:19[SPEAKER_07]: Then one year from now my friend will see the beginning of the end of the Avengers.
- 39:24[SPEAKER_07]: For as you know, the assassin never fails.
- 39:27[SPEAKER_04]: Rethast a positive switchhead.
- 39:31[SPEAKER_07]: How can this be happening?
- 39:32[SPEAKER_07]: One of us, and a Avenger, has been struck down by an unknown assailant with an unknown weapon, and we're helpless.
- 39:38[SPEAKER_07]: Captain America is dying, and we can't do a cursed thing about it.
- 39:41[SPEAKER_02]: Yeah, I'll eject it walks up behind Wanda and puts a hand on both of her shoulders.
- 39:45[SPEAKER_02]: Neither of them notice a sniper aiming the target on their heads.
- 39:49[SPEAKER_03]: I know if you'll want to, but you've got to remember that Cap's come through worse than this and he's under the care of Donald Blake, so who's maybe the world's finest surgeon.
- 39:57[SPEAKER_07]: And what about those men, Hawkeye Battled, right in the hospital?
- 39:59[SPEAKER_07]: Whoever's behind this isn't going to give up until Cap is dead.
- 40:03[SPEAKER_03]: Cap's being guarded by Hawkeye, the vision, Ironman, and Thor, lady.
- 40:06[SPEAKER_03]: Nobody's going to get past those jokers.
- 40:08[SPEAKER_00]: Wanda's taking it pretty hard.
- 40:09[SPEAKER_00]: She and Cap have been together so many years.
- 40:12[SPEAKER_00]: He's like family to her.
- 40:13[SPEAKER_05]: She's sure right about one thing.
- 40:14[SPEAKER_05]: We ain't doing deadly around here.
- 40:16[SPEAKER_05]: I've searched this town three times over for the dude that ambushed Cap and come up empty.
- 40:21[SPEAKER_05]: How about you, Beast?
- 40:22[SPEAKER_05]: Having any better luck down in the lab?
- 40:23[SPEAKER_05]: Sorry, Falcon, but we haven't found a clue to either who did it or what exactly it is that's killing Cap.
- 40:29[SPEAKER_00]: Is there any hope, Hank?
- 40:31[SPEAKER_05]: Some, Jan, read Richards is working on the theory that cap was put away by a new form of radiation poisoning.
- 40:37[SPEAKER_05]: And in LA, Bill Foster is working from the biochemicals angle using what little data we could send him.
- 40:43[SPEAKER_02]: Meanwhile, we just wait.
- 40:45[SPEAKER_02]: Blast.
- 40:45[SPEAKER_02]: Now, remember those weird pink headed aliens in the lavender and blue from the hospital last issue?
- 40:50[SPEAKER_02]: Three of them are in a nearby roof, and all have a red dagger on their foreheads.
- 40:55[SPEAKER_03]: Planet's work can be perfection.
- 40:56[SPEAKER_03]: The Avengers are so concerned about Captain America that they've let their own to sense them to down.
- 41:00[SPEAKER_03]: Agent 2C, ready to be a fathom that the squad has been positioned and awaiting further order.
- 41:04[SPEAKER_03]: We'll continue to track these targets through our scope.
- 41:07[SPEAKER_03]: And I also thought I thought I'd put you touch.
- 41:09[SPEAKER_03]: I'm trying to change it up.
- 41:13[SPEAKER_03]: love it, love love love.
- 41:14[SPEAKER_03]: I live.
- 41:15[SPEAKER_07]: Attention C squad on receipt of notification that main targets have been eliminated.
- 41:19[SPEAKER_07]: Remove secondary targets as feasible.
- 41:22[SPEAKER_07]: You will then join ranks with D squad for final mocking up apparations.
- 41:26[SPEAKER_07]: All targets are to be accounted for.
- 41:27[SPEAKER_07]: That a single avenger must remain alive.
- 41:30[SPEAKER_02]: And of chapter one, chapter two is the better to kill them with.
- 41:34[SPEAKER_02]: We go back to the hospital where a team of doctors is performing surgery on Captain
- 41:43[SPEAKER_02]: standing guard or Iron Man and Thor.
- 41:45[SPEAKER_02]: The operating theater is aptly named for it is a stage on which Dr. Dunn Blake performs with all the skill he can muster, a saying a crucial role in the drama unfolding there.
- 41:55[SPEAKER_02]: The battle for a human life and cap has his cow on on the operating table, including the anesthesia over his whatever.
- 42:03[SPEAKER_06]: All sin restoration are holding steady, Dr. Blake, but it dangerously low levels that his operation could kill him.
- 42:09[SPEAKER_03]: There's no alternative doctor.
- 42:10[SPEAKER_03]: Read Richard has convinced our patient has been charged with some unknown form of radiation.
- 42:15[SPEAKER_03]: It's causing his body to slowly turn itself off.
- 42:18[SPEAKER_03]: The only way to dissipate that lethal energies by placing these counter radiation capsules inside the patient.
- 42:23[SPEAKER_07]: Bank heaven, Don Blake, is performing the operation.
- 42:26[SPEAKER_07]: There's not another surge in alive capable of such delicate work.
- 42:29[SPEAKER_06]: something I can do in there, so I may as well check on Thor.
- 42:32[SPEAKER_06]: It's a good thing I completed work on this LMD before this emergency came up.
- 42:37[SPEAKER_06]: Up to a point it's indistinguishable from the real Thor.
- 42:40[SPEAKER_06]: It's already far too common knowledge that there's a connection between Blake and the Thunder God.
- 42:44[SPEAKER_06]: Hopefully this will prevent anyone from discovering just how close the connection.
- 42:47[SPEAKER_06]: The AMA will probably wouldn't take too kindly to learning that one of their, its members moonlights is a superhero.
- 42:54[SPEAKER_06]: I wonder if Clinton the vision been keeping yellow
- 42:58[SPEAKER_06]: All the Avengers keep standing 24-hour watches would be sitting ducks for any new menace that arises.
- 43:03[SPEAKER_02]: Iron Man joins vision and Hawkeye on their vigil as the nurse approaches with three cups of coffee.
- 43:08[SPEAKER_06]: I shall head, you're just in time to grab a cup of Java.
- 43:11[SPEAKER_07]: It's not the greatest coffee in the world, gentlemen.
- 43:13[SPEAKER_07]: But it's hot and that's something at least.
- 43:15[SPEAKER_07]: Don't worry about removing your mask Iron Man.
- 43:17[SPEAKER_07]: I remember to bring a straw for you.
- 43:19[SPEAKER_07]: Doesn't the vision drink?
- 43:20[SPEAKER_06]: He can, Miss.
- 43:20[SPEAKER_06]: But I'm afraid it's the furthest thing from his mind, right now.
- 43:23[SPEAKER_02]: You hear Iron Man's words, accepting the truth of them.
- 43:26[SPEAKER_02]: Your thoughts lie solely with the operation being carried out a scant floor away.
- 43:31[SPEAKER_02]: Only once in your life, have you been operated on in Avengers 1-13.
- 43:34[SPEAKER_02]: And that time, you very nearly perished vision.
- 43:37[SPEAKER_02]: You, a being of sturdy synthetic creation, very nearly perished.
- 43:41[SPEAKER_02]: What then, the chances for all two human Captain America's survival?
- 43:46[SPEAKER_07]: Enjoy your coffee Avengers.
- 43:47[SPEAKER_07]: I'll be back later.
- 43:49[SPEAKER_02]: And just around the corner is B-squad, also dressed like weird aliens.
- 43:52[SPEAKER_03]: Okay, and I remember drinking the coffee now.
- 43:54[SPEAKER_03]: It should start to affect them in seconds.
- 43:56[SPEAKER_03]: It's fun to prepare for combat.
- 43:58[SPEAKER_06]: Brother, is this coffee ever else, Stanko?
- 44:00[SPEAKER_06]: This must be how they recruit new patients.
- 44:02[SPEAKER_04]: Coffee, Hocki referring to his coffee as Elstein goes.
- 44:05[SPEAKER_04]: Oh, Stanko.
- 44:06[SPEAKER_04]: Brother, it's just my favorite things ever.
- 44:09[SPEAKER_06]: Is something a miss Iron Man?
- 44:11[SPEAKER_06]: I'm not sure, Vision.
- 44:12[SPEAKER_06]: I certainly feel sort of a boozey.
- 44:15[SPEAKER_06]: I can hardly hold onto this.
- 44:17[SPEAKER_02]: The cup falls from Iron Man's hand, breaking.
- 44:19[SPEAKER_02]: As the assassins rush in with guns.
- 44:22[SPEAKER_02]: It's working.
- 44:22[SPEAKER_02]: Be squad, attack.
- 44:24[SPEAKER_06]: Clint, we've been drugged, that nurse suckered us.
- 44:27[SPEAKER_04]: Stay back, my fellow Avengers.
- 44:29[SPEAKER_04]: I did not drink any of the drug coffee.
- 44:31[SPEAKER_04]: I will bear the brunt of their charge.
- 44:33[SPEAKER_06]: Great plan, this, except that these goons are charging for more than one direction.
- 44:36[SPEAKER_06]: Oh my God, I feel like they're being roasted over an open fire, but I can't pass out now.
- 44:41[SPEAKER_06]: Cap needs me, cap needs me.
- 44:43[SPEAKER_04]: And you know, diarrhea in an Iron Man suit is just a nightmare.
- 44:47[SPEAKER_00]: Cool.
- 44:48[SPEAKER_04]: He has a straw for that, too.
- 44:51[SPEAKER_02]: Hawkeye, Hawkeye takes out more man with a gun than slams on the floor and conscious.
- 44:59[SPEAKER_02]: Meanwhile, vision is throwing punches.
- 45:00[SPEAKER_03]: Fuck!
- 45:01[SPEAKER_02]: Well, Iron Man, bless, man.
- 45:03[SPEAKER_03]: Zack!
- 45:04[SPEAKER_04]: Iron Man, battle your way toward our fallen comrades.
- 45:07[SPEAKER_04]: A united defense is our last hope.
- 45:09[SPEAKER_06]: I can hardly hear, and all my other senses are running wild as well.
- 45:12[SPEAKER_06]: Face it, mister here.
- 45:13[SPEAKER_06]: Out on your feet if the vision can't take these creeps alone, we've had it.
- 45:17[SPEAKER_02]: But, though the amazing Android solar energy beams do cut a wide swath through the Avengers foes, their attackers greater numbers seem likely to prove an insurmountable disadvantage to have gaskons.
- 45:28[SPEAKER_01]: Fush!
- 45:29[SPEAKER_01]: He doesn't see SB7.
- 45:31[SPEAKER_03]: Ben's very swiftly being ironed.
- 45:33[SPEAKER_06]: Gas!
- 45:34[SPEAKER_06]: They've sprayed it into my mask before I could activate my eye and mouth shield.
- 45:38[SPEAKER_06]: What the hell is this group of assassin?
- 45:43[SPEAKER_04]: I don't know where they found them all that.
- 45:45[SPEAKER_04]: I want to launch it assassins like ASMR podcast Higher men she's okay with that gun right?
- 45:54[SPEAKER_03]: Okay, Iron Man, play, play, play, play, play, play, play, play, play, play, play, play, play, play, play, play, play, play, play, play, play, play, play, play, play, play, play, play, play, play, play, play, play, play, play, play, play, play, play, play, play, play, play, play, play, play, play, play, play, play, play, play, play, play, play, play, play, play, play, play, play, play, play, play, play, play, play, play, play, play, play, play, play, play, play, play, play, play, play, play, play, play, play, play, play, play, play, play, play, play, play, play, play, play, play, play, play, play, play, play, play, play, play, play, play, play, play, play, play,
- 46:20[SPEAKER_06]: There stands as Guardian B3, one Avenger we cannot afford this smallest error in dealing with.
- 46:25[SPEAKER_06]: Even these weapons powerful as they are cannot kill him.
- 46:28[SPEAKER_06]: They can lure him to the post-bittle generator room with a full electrical power of New York City can be used to destroy him.
- 46:34[SPEAKER_06]: Man, before you can attack us, beat well, fire!
- 46:37[SPEAKER_02]: A massive laser blast hits Thor's crack.
- 46:40[SPEAKER_02]: Thor is down.
- 46:41[SPEAKER_04]: He's not breathing.
- 46:42[SPEAKER_04]: Is it possible?
- 46:44[SPEAKER_04]: Can we have slain a god?
- 46:46[SPEAKER_04]: We have an extra nurse, Sarah, do you want to be nurse one?
- 46:49[SPEAKER_01]: Sure, but I'm also nurse Robinson.
- 46:51[SPEAKER_01]: So get prepared for me to do the same voice both times.
- 46:55[SPEAKER_01]: Oh dear Lord, these costume men, they've just killed Thor and then also this is a different person.
- 47:01[SPEAKER_01]: It can't be, but he looks so still so lifeless.
- 47:04[SPEAKER_03]: Lock the door immediately, Nurse Robinson, mainly by enough time to finish this operation.
- 47:09[SPEAKER_01]: We've got to call the guard.
- 47:10[SPEAKER_03]: You know, what is leaving this operating room?
- 47:12[SPEAKER_03]: We've got a patient on the table.
- 47:14[SPEAKER_03]: The Avengers will handle those men.
- 47:15[SPEAKER_03]: But can they?
- 47:16[SPEAKER_03]: Tom Stark doesn't build fragile robots and they took it out with one shot.
- 47:20[SPEAKER_03]: Thor'd be torn between staying here or going to one the others right now.
- 47:23[SPEAKER_03]: For Don Blaco, there's only one possible choice and heaven helped me if it proves to be the wrong choice.
- 47:28[SPEAKER_02]: and while one of Andrew wrestles with his dual identities, another fights on against the seemingly endless sea of enemies, but even a being who can increase his density to roughly that of a diamond, or become unsolved enough to attack his foes from within, no matter how valiantly he battles on, can successfully wage war on two fronts.
- 47:47[SPEAKER_02]: Vision alternates between diamond hard in corporal, even pulling his hand into one man's chest, but he doesn't see the assassin joining the group from where they've been hiding in a hospital room.
- 47:57[SPEAKER_07]: Perfect.
- 47:58[SPEAKER_07]: Men have maneuvered the vision into position, and he has turned diamond hard to avoid succumbing to their blast weapons, which makes him vulnerable to the device designed specifically to destroy him.
- 48:09[SPEAKER_02]: Detective Ice had heirs to Visionscape with a slap.
- 48:12[SPEAKER_04]: Well, some rear attacker has fastened an object to my cloak, but before it conserves its diabolical function out,
- 48:19[SPEAKER_04]: No, my body does not respond to my mental commands.
- 48:22[SPEAKER_04]: I cannot turn on solid or even.
- 48:24[SPEAKER_02]: And yet another face plant, throump, and then Iron Man's body is laid on top of the visions.
- 48:29[SPEAKER_01]: Look at the face.
- 48:30[SPEAKER_01]: Hi, oh sorry, am I you?
- 48:33[SPEAKER_01]: Yes, okay, go ahead.
- 48:37[SPEAKER_03]: look at the vision's eyes.
- 48:38[SPEAKER_03]: He's conscious.
- 48:39[SPEAKER_01]: Yeah, but he can't move on account of that thing.
- 48:42[SPEAKER_01]: The boss stuck on him.
- 48:43[SPEAKER_07]: These men have shared countless adventures.
- 48:46[SPEAKER_07]: It is only fittingly died together.
- 48:47[SPEAKER_07]: Don't look to your comrades for aid vision.
- 48:49[SPEAKER_07]: The drug they swallowed produces two effects.
- 48:52[SPEAKER_07]: First, unconsciousness.
- 48:54[SPEAKER_07]: Then when it reaches their hearts, instantaneous death as for the device had attached to you.
- 48:59[SPEAKER_07]: It also performs two functions.
- 49:01[SPEAKER_07]: It has disrupted your entire nervous system, rendering you completely immobile, unable to even shut for help, and it is now causing the solar energy contained within your body to build to an intolerable level.
- 49:11[SPEAKER_07]: The results of explosion leave very little of even your diamond-hard flesh intact, I friend.
- 49:16[SPEAKER_07]: You might wish to amuse yourself in your final moments, but trying to calculate which will kill your allies first, the poison or your own exploding body.
- 49:24[SPEAKER_01]: Sassin, we just received word from B12.
- 49:27[SPEAKER_01]: He says he says that they've killed Thor with their blaster weapons.
- 49:30[SPEAKER_02]: What?
- 49:31[SPEAKER_02]: And minutes later, the assassin checks for themselves.
- 49:34[SPEAKER_07]: Bools.
- 49:35[SPEAKER_07]: They don't realize what they've stumbled on.
- 49:36[SPEAKER_07]: This isn't Thor.
- 49:37[SPEAKER_07]: It's a robot.
- 49:38[SPEAKER_07]: Your job is finished here.
- 49:39[SPEAKER_07]: Return to Outpost 4 and wait for their orders.
- 49:41[SPEAKER_07]: Just a second.
- 49:42[SPEAKER_07]: But Donald Blake is the surgeon operating on Captain America, many have suspected some connection between the Doctor and Thor, but none before me has deduced that the true connection between they are the same man, but the Thor brought your mortal, Dr. Blake can die.
- 49:56[SPEAKER_07]: And since only Blake has the ability to save Captain America with one bullet, I kill two Avengers.
- 50:02[SPEAKER_02]: the assassin pushes open the door to the operating room and draws the bright red gun.
- 50:07[SPEAKER_02]: End of chapter two.
- 50:08[SPEAKER_02]: Chapter three is nothing our own but death.
- 50:11[SPEAKER_02]: An arrow is fire, twang, restraining the assassin's gunhand.
- 50:15[SPEAKER_07]: No, I left you all for dead.
- 50:18[SPEAKER_07]: Guess again, Master Marvel.
- 50:19[SPEAKER_07]: The poison should have killed you by now.
- 50:21[SPEAKER_06]: Yeah, the vision told us how it was supposed to off-shell headed me when it reached our hearts.
- 50:26[SPEAKER_06]: Might have done just that too, except for the stuff reached old boxed glass stomach first.
- 50:30[SPEAKER_06]: Let me spell it out for you, Chuckles.
- 50:32[SPEAKER_06]: This little avenger dropped his cookies before your poison got anywhere near is ever loving or I are a ordinance.
- 50:37[SPEAKER_04]: They're literally talking about like food poisoning.
- 50:40[SPEAKER_04]: You're like the puking and diarrhea.
- 50:44[SPEAKER_06]: It's the Avengers Day for Lucky Briggs, fella.
- 50:46[SPEAKER_06]: My Constitution isn't any harder than Hawkeye's.
- 50:49[SPEAKER_06]: Can't tell our fuming friend the real reason is boys and didn't kill me.
- 50:52[SPEAKER_06]: It was designed to become lethal.
- 50:53[SPEAKER_06]: I'm reaching the human heart, but under this armor, I'm Tony Stark, and he's got a synthetic heart built by Dr.
- 50:59[SPEAKER_06]: Hose Santini.
- 51:00[SPEAKER_06]: I may feel woozy for a spell, but I'm long way from that cold, concrete slab.
- 51:05[SPEAKER_04]: See Iron Man 19 for that story?
- 51:07[SPEAKER_04]: Our silent opponent does not appear interested in how I escaped his little device.
- 51:11[SPEAKER_06]: He's probably figured it out, Vision.
- 51:13[SPEAKER_06]: What's to figure?
- 51:14[SPEAKER_06]: Once we were up in a round, it took a thermal arrow and some shellhead muscles to get our buddy back in the air, pink of health.
- 51:21[SPEAKER_06]: In case you haven't been counting the scores of engines, three bad guys, zero.
- 51:25[SPEAKER_07]: Zero, Hawkeye?
- 51:26[SPEAKER_07]: What about Captain America?
- 51:27[UNKNOWN]: Ka-
- 51:28[SPEAKER_07]: Then you're the creep that tried to waste an owl.
- 51:30[SPEAKER_07]: Oh, fool.
- 51:32[SPEAKER_07]: I am the assassin and the assassin.
- 51:34[SPEAKER_07]: Never brails.
- 51:35[SPEAKER_02]: The assassin kicks Hawkeye in as glass stomach.
- 51:38[SPEAKER_02]: Then freeze their bunned, uh, their bound hand quickly.
- 51:42[SPEAKER_02]: Then the gun pointed straight at Hawkeye's head.
- 51:44[SPEAKER_07]: Breeze Avengers.
- 51:46[SPEAKER_07]: One wrong move and there won't be enough with Hawkeye's head left to keep his neck warm.
- 51:50[SPEAKER_06]: He's got us vision.
- 51:52[SPEAKER_07]: And lad, you apri act with lad and thumb.
- 51:55[SPEAKER_02]: behind the assassin, Dr. Donald Blake opens the doors, smacking them on their ass and knocking them over with a whack.
- 52:00[SPEAKER_07]: Don't you blake!
- 52:01[SPEAKER_02]: You've lost, Mr. Captain America is going to live.
- 52:04[SPEAKER_04]: No, I can still reach my weapon.
- 52:06[SPEAKER_04]: But can you reach it before my power blast?
- 52:08[SPEAKER_04]: Reducis it to a useless heap of slag?
- 52:10[SPEAKER_04]: I think not, assassin.
- 52:12[SPEAKER_06]: Nice going, vision.
- 52:13[SPEAKER_06]: And just to make sure our plate made as in harbouring any more weapons, my repulsor rays will rip that bulky costume right off him.
- 52:19[SPEAKER_02]: Vision fires a solar blast from his eyes, disarming the assassins.
- 52:23[SPEAKER_02]: Back.
- 52:24[SPEAKER_02]: Then Iron Man fires a repulsor blaze.
- 52:25[SPEAKER_02]: Back.
- 52:26[SPEAKER_02]: That literally rips the costume off the villain.
- 52:29[SPEAKER_02]: Revealing a woman underneath.
- 52:33[SPEAKER_02]: Oh.
- 52:33[SPEAKER_02]: She falls to the ground and shredded chainmails, still wearing her red gloves and blue boots, her face now fully exposed.
- 52:39[SPEAKER_06]: Holy hell, it's the nurse.
- 52:44[SPEAKER_07]: and avenger registering surprise that his enemy could be a woman, really Hawkeye.
- 52:48[SPEAKER_07]: You've seen your own moon dragon and the Scarlet Witch in action.
- 52:51[SPEAKER_07]: Do you still doubt that a woman could design and carry out the scam pain against you?
- 52:56[SPEAKER_07]: That a woman could very nearly destroy five of the world's mightiest heroes that cast aside your fooling doubts archer.
- 53:02[SPEAKER_02]: She's got something to take behind her back.
- 53:04[SPEAKER_02]: Well, the campaign is not over yet.
- 53:06[SPEAKER_02]: Ooh, indeed.
- 53:07[SPEAKER_02]: She does.
- 53:08[SPEAKER_02]: The assassin reaches behind her and pulls out a bomb and it detonates into a toxic gas.
- 53:14[SPEAKER_07]: The gas is unfortunately only slightly toxic.
- 53:17[SPEAKER_07]: It will cause the no more than mild discomfort, but it will cover my escape.
- 53:20[SPEAKER_06]: Some kind of.
- 53:22[SPEAKER_06]: That's what it's spreading smokescreen.
- 53:24[SPEAKER_06]: I can't even see her through it.
- 53:26[SPEAKER_06]: Don't inhale, Clint.
- 53:27[SPEAKER_06]: It may be poisonous.
- 53:28[SPEAKER_06]: I'll try to disperse it with my repulsive rage.
- 53:30[SPEAKER_02]: Pretty, I bet our foe is moving.
- 53:32[SPEAKER_02]: Crash.
- 53:33[SPEAKER_02]: The Assassin breaks through a window and rushes away on the sidewalk outside towards her agents.
- 53:38[SPEAKER_07]: The Avengers Mansion is mere blocks from here.
- 53:41[SPEAKER_07]: I can easily reach my squads there before they pick up my trail.
- 53:43[SPEAKER_07]: If only Iron Man's blasted out destroying my radio.
- 53:46[SPEAKER_07]: I could have ordered my snipers to remove as many targets as possible without jeopardizing my personal safety.
- 53:51[SPEAKER_07]: But I'll settle for whatever kills I can get and come back for the surviving Avengers later.
- 53:55[SPEAKER_07]: Why aren't those men in position?
- 53:56[SPEAKER_07]: Get ready, you daltz!
- 53:58[SPEAKER_07]: The Avengers are right behind me!
- 53:59[SPEAKER_03]: Ooh, the heck is that?
- 54:00[SPEAKER_01]: Something's gone sour.
- 54:02[SPEAKER_01]: We should have heard from the assassin 15 minutes ago and now we've been spotted.
- 54:06[SPEAKER_03]: We can't afford to take any chances, Blaster.
- 54:08[SPEAKER_01]: The operation has to be scrubbed before we're too late.
- 54:11[SPEAKER_04]: Desquad, battle stations.
- 54:13[SPEAKER_04]: It's the Avengers shots are fired.
- 54:15[SPEAKER_02]: And the assassin is gunned down by her own men.
- 54:19[SPEAKER_02]: We're then.
- 54:20[SPEAKER_02]: I don't care.
- 54:21[SPEAKER_01]: He never fails.
- 54:23[SPEAKER_02]: Then, Thor, Vision, Hawkeye, and Ironman are there.
- 54:27[SPEAKER_02]: They come by Mystic Hammer, transistorized jets or floating in the vagrant breeze, or if you're Hawkeye, Ironman grabs you by the armpits.
- 54:35[SPEAKER_02]: And the ranks are soon swelled by a full quintet of heroes from within the Avengers Mansion.
- 54:41[SPEAKER_02]: Except there's only four of them and they just came from the hospital.
- 54:43[SPEAKER_02]: The battle is fierce and brief, when it is over, the defeated are let away.
- 54:48[SPEAKER_02]: In days, the poise and the assassins had coated their mask with will begin to take effect for teens.
- 54:54[SPEAKER_02]: Sorry, I don't mean to laugh this terrible.
- 54:56[SPEAKER_02]: Fourteen will die before doctors don't blake in a henry pimp, develop an antidote.
- 55:01[SPEAKER_02]: But today, nobody dies.
- 55:03[SPEAKER_02]: Say for one, whose face is set in a death mask of eternal hate.
- 55:08[SPEAKER_02]: I'm so sorry, I'm laughing at this.
- 55:10[SPEAKER_02]: hatred perhaps directed more inward than outward.
- 55:12[SPEAKER_02]: The coroner takes away the Assassin's body and her face is frozen in a sneer.
- 55:20[SPEAKER_02]: Oh, listeners, you're missing a great performance.
- 55:23[SPEAKER_02]: Days later, an article appears in the paper.
- 55:26[SPEAKER_02]: Here are a few excerpts.
- 55:27[SPEAKER_02]: Captain America recovers.
- 55:29[SPEAKER_02]: Avengers battle attackers.
- 55:30[SPEAKER_02]: Captain America has recovered from the mysterious injuries he received three nights ago, said an Avengers spokesman this morning.
- 55:36[SPEAKER_02]: Despite a second attempt on the far-famed hero of World War II's life, Dr. Donald Blake, renowned surgeon, was able to successfully perform the operation which saved the
- 55:47[SPEAKER_02]: If brief struggle resulted in one death and unidentified young woman, she was apparently a member of the attacking force slain by a stray blast fired from one of her fellow assailants.
- 55:57[SPEAKER_02]: There has been official speculation that she was, in fact, the leader of the attacking force, but this remains unconfirmed.
- 56:03[SPEAKER_02]: Though the nature of his injuries have yet to be made public, it is known that
- 56:07[SPEAKER_02]: Experts across the country were called for consultation, including Dr. Reed Richards, leader of the Fantastic Four, and Dr. William Foster, president of a Los Angeles-based stark industries research company.
- 56:16[SPEAKER_02]: Then, remember the proctor from back at the beginning?
- 56:19[SPEAKER_02]: He's been confronted by a new character.
- 56:22[SPEAKER_02]: And, Jolo.
- 56:23[SPEAKER_04]: And if this two-spartor was not enough, here's the ending you didn't know you needed, soap opera style, here we go.
- 56:29[SPEAKER_06]: You murdered her old man, it wasn't enough that you turned her into a cold blood and killer you had to assign the red job that was certain death.
- 56:35[SPEAKER_06]: Did you honestly believe she could eliminate the Avengers?
- 56:38[SPEAKER_05]: No, but she was the best choice for the job with the best however slim chance of succeeding.
- 56:45[SPEAKER_05]: You'll pay from a reestettled man.
- 56:47[SPEAKER_05]: You never had the heart for this kind of business, Angelo.
- 56:51[SPEAKER_05]: I knew it from day you were born, and it always grieved me.
- 56:55[SPEAKER_05]: You know, I wish I had been like you.
- 56:58[SPEAKER_05]: Many years ago, but I've been trained, who well?
- 57:02[SPEAKER_02]: The proctor draws a gun from under his desk and quickly shoots Angelo in the chest.
- 57:08[SPEAKER_05]: And now, I can only follow orders.
- 57:11[SPEAKER_05]: I'm really sorry, Angelou Maria, my son, my daughter.
- 57:16[SPEAKER_04]: So he was the dad of the assassin from the beginning, bartering for a billion dollars with his own child.
- 57:22[SPEAKER_04]: Okay, go ahead.
- 57:23[SPEAKER_02]: And nothing can we call our own, but death.
- 57:26[SPEAKER_02]: And that's smart, a small model of the Baron Earth, which serves as paste and cover to our bones, will you miss Shakespeare?
- 57:37[SPEAKER_02]: That's a single tear while pulling the gun to his own head.
- 57:40[SPEAKER_02]: So he's the dad, but he wasn't hiring the assassin for other villain groups.
- 57:46[SPEAKER_02]: So what was this backstory between him and the children?
- 57:49[SPEAKER_04]: I don't know, I hate it.
- 57:52[SPEAKER_02]: Next, at last, the Squadron Supreme Saga you've been waiting for through these two issues.
- 57:58[SPEAKER_02]: Crisis on other Earth.
- 58:00[SPEAKER_04]: What the fuck is this story, my friends?
- 58:02[SPEAKER_04]: Okay, let's begin with the assassin, brilliant vocal performances for all of us, but Ruth, can you summarize the assassins?
- 58:08[SPEAKER_04]: plot line for us Maria the assassin to issues a woman of color running her own criminal hitman enterprise weirdly using all kinds of poisons very ineffectively just just the absolute epitome of overly complicated plots right I can only assume that the assassin had never failed because this most of these was the assassins first job right shortly that's the
- 58:37[SPEAKER_04]: The assassin is a neppo baby.
- 58:38[SPEAKER_04]: Her weird gay dad offered her a billion dollars and a year to plan out a chance to kill the Avengers.
- 58:45[SPEAKER_04]: She hired a billion in X. Oh, that's true.
- 58:47[SPEAKER_04]: A billion in X.
- 58:48[SPEAKER_04]: A billion in X.
- 58:49[SPEAKER_04]: She hired all her friends, made them dressed like aliens, made some of them dress in Captain America masks.
- 58:55[SPEAKER_04]: What the hell is the story?
- 58:57[SPEAKER_02]: And then she just poisons a couple of them all was with some poison like what like that's not a plot Why did it take you a year?
- 59:03[SPEAKER_06]: Everyone realized she did realize she could chewed Hawkeye near the end.
- 59:07[SPEAKER_06]: She was like, oh wait I can kill this one Sarah I know what you thought's on the assassin
- 59:12[SPEAKER_01]: Well, I want to add some context for that's just personal context, which is Avengers 146 is the first issue of Avengers I ever read.
- 59:20[SPEAKER_01]: I used to have a tattered copy of this and I loved it.
- 59:23[SPEAKER_01]: It's really funny to me that my first Avengers is she was this one.
- 59:27[SPEAKER_01]: And it's like the equal opportunity assassin issue.
- 59:31[SPEAKER_01]: First he's like, oh, woman can do it just as well as any man.
- 59:37[SPEAKER_01]: It's just like very like, I don't know if that's feminism, but god bless feminism.
- 59:42[SPEAKER_04]: I can't go down by her own alien mask.
- 59:44[SPEAKER_01]: I can't believe that part.
- 59:46[SPEAKER_01]: She goes out, but yeah, it doesn't surprise me.
- 59:49[SPEAKER_01]: I mean, the issue begins with Scarlet Witch looking super hot with like a single tear like running down her face and of the obsession began.
- 59:57[SPEAKER_01]: But yeah, my god, the assassin is probably
- 1:00:05[SPEAKER_01]: Just a one-off that just kind of shows up to be like so bananas, what a banana is villain.
- 1:00:11[SPEAKER_04]: Delicious performances by Ruth and by everyone as the various assassin squads.
- 1:00:17[SPEAKER_04]: Do we have thoughts on this two-parter?
- 1:00:18[SPEAKER_04]: It's truly insane Captain America fighting the bank robbers that are in his own mask is my favorite thing.
- 1:00:25[SPEAKER_06]: Right.
- 1:00:25[SPEAKER_06]: And in that he says, Wolf, I was careless.
- 1:00:28[SPEAKER_06]: He got me when I was thinking very clever thoughts.
- 1:00:31[SPEAKER_06]: That's my favorite line in in comics, maybe that's so funny.
- 1:00:37[SPEAKER_04]: While he's getting whacked with a garbage can, is well, he's thinking this.
- 1:00:41[SPEAKER_04]: I was being so clever.
- 1:00:44[SPEAKER_07]: I favorite line was, well, we were going to tell you this other story, but then we missed the deadline.
- 1:00:48[SPEAKER_07]: So enjoy this one.
- 1:00:50[SPEAKER_07]: So they've just had in a drawer.
- 1:00:52[SPEAKER_04]: On the cover, so this is a real thing that happened at Marvel.
- 1:00:56[SPEAKER_04]: So they would often hire people to do one or two part stories in case the creative team on the books was running behind.
- 1:01:03[SPEAKER_04]: If you read like an issue of X-Men and there's a weird issue kind of inserted into the middle of it, that's usually why that's happening.
- 1:01:10[SPEAKER_04]: So it then became the editor's job to try to re-contextualize.
- 1:01:13[SPEAKER_04]: So this story might have been created like a full year before when Beast first joined the team.
- 1:01:18[SPEAKER_04]: Uh, it's hard to place it.
- 1:01:19[SPEAKER_04]: So I'm the cover of the editors literally like, hey, whoever can figure out where this goes.
- 1:01:23[SPEAKER_02]: Let us know which I hate the hand in me is like, no, but there are context clues like you know with who's on the team at the time and what they say about like with just happened to Wasp and Hank almost died like right before like you can almost put it somewhere.
- 1:01:36[SPEAKER_02]: I'm sure somebody got a no prize for this.
- 1:01:38[SPEAKER_04]: Do we have thoughts on a moments we want to call out from the two part of the Assassin story?
- 1:01:42[SPEAKER_06]: I like the Jocca and Iron Man just throw up and that's how they, they beat the Assassin.
- 1:01:48[SPEAKER_06]: I'm not sure.
- 1:01:48[SPEAKER_04]: I've lined their helmets with gas X.
- 1:01:50[SPEAKER_04]: They're sure to go down.
- 1:01:53[SPEAKER_01]: I like a Scarlet Witch fighting death at the beginning.
- 1:01:57[SPEAKER_01]: She's just like, this can't be happening.
- 1:02:00[SPEAKER_01]: This sucks.
- 1:02:01[SPEAKER_01]: Everything sucks.
- 1:02:02[SPEAKER_02]: These hasn't spent a year to come up with the idea to just serve them coffee.
- 1:02:06[SPEAKER_02]: I don't get it.
- 1:02:07[SPEAKER_04]: wasn't cash, wasn't floppy, and lining the masks with poison, and then the alien thing.
- 1:02:13[SPEAKER_04]: I just, what was this plan?
- 1:02:16[SPEAKER_04]: This woman is busy at herself.
- 1:02:17[SPEAKER_04]: She's come from.
- 1:02:19[SPEAKER_04]: She's hot in her shredded chain mail, but she's that's real.
- 1:02:23[SPEAKER_01]: Yeah, she is hot.
- 1:02:24[SPEAKER_00]: She's so much money on red paint.
- 1:02:29[SPEAKER_07]: I just hope you got her billion dollar for expenses before all of this happened since she's not getting the billion dollars for having completed the job.
- 1:02:36[SPEAKER_04]: First thing, Thor's lying dead in the hallway and she's like, ooh, that must be a fake Thor, which means my deduction is correct that Thor's actually the doctor performing surgery.
- 1:02:44[SPEAKER_04]: What?
- 1:02:45[SPEAKER_01]: That makes sense.
- 1:02:46[SPEAKER_01]: That makes sense.
- 1:02:47[SPEAKER_01]: Yeah, everybody dies.
- 1:02:48[SPEAKER_01]: This issue is wild.
- 1:02:50[SPEAKER_01]: It's like comics code is on this.
- 1:02:59[SPEAKER_02]: 14 people from their masks being poisoned.
- 1:03:01[SPEAKER_05]: Yes, I really didn't expect the ending.
- 1:03:04[SPEAKER_05]: So I think my head cannon, well, one, the William Shakespeare's quote at the end, like, just feels good.
- 1:03:09[SPEAKER_01]: Oh, wow.
- 1:03:11[SPEAKER_05]: It's a touch of extra culture there.
- 1:03:13[SPEAKER_05]: But I had cannon is like, oh, wait.
- 1:03:16[SPEAKER_05]: Was this like the proctor's elaborate scheme to kill his daughter?
- 1:03:20[SPEAKER_05]: And son, like, was he just like, you know what?
- 1:03:22[SPEAKER_05]: I was a bad parent.
- 1:03:23[SPEAKER_05]: I can't fix it.
- 1:03:24[SPEAKER_01]: Do you over?
- 1:03:25[SPEAKER_01]: Yeah.
- 1:03:26[SPEAKER_04]: He's a closet at home as sexually as the murderers children before he can go live his real life.
- 1:03:31[SPEAKER_04]: Oh, I was willing to go.
- 1:03:32[SPEAKER_03]: I was wondering why they only targeted the five like male Avengers two, like what?
- 1:03:37[SPEAKER_03]: Like they were going after the scar of the witch or the wasp or any of it.
- 1:03:40[SPEAKER_03]: So I mean that was like what the assassin, you know, girl power kind of vibe, she's going for her.
- 1:03:46[SPEAKER_04]: She could have served them coffee anywhere, this planet, but also that line of like, oh, it's the nurse.
- 1:03:52[SPEAKER_06]: You're right.
- 1:03:55[SPEAKER_06]: It is.
- 1:03:56[SPEAKER_06]: It's so crazy because she's like, why could it get all the Avengers together as if they're not often all together, right?
- 1:04:03[SPEAKER_04]: like on their own on.
- 1:04:04[SPEAKER_04]: Yeah.
- 1:04:05[SPEAKER_04]: Okay.
- 1:04:05[SPEAKER_04]: So Thor, Hawkeye and Moon Dragon are still in the past with Tugan, kid.
- 1:04:10[SPEAKER_04]: Hawkeye is going to stay there with his boyfriend.
- 1:04:12[SPEAKER_06]: We can clearly read his query.
- 1:04:14[SPEAKER_06]: Go listen to our last script reads that.
- 1:04:15[SPEAKER_04]: Now we also have the brand corporation, huge zones, buzz backster, the squadron supreme, the captive Avengers, and then Patsy Walker just walking up on the
- 1:04:28[SPEAKER_04]: we don't know why it was there.
- 1:04:30[SPEAKER_04]: I don't think that's ever been explained in a story.
- 1:04:33[SPEAKER_04]: It just does lay in on the on the box.
- 1:04:35[SPEAKER_04]: If anybody knows the answer, please let me know.
- 1:04:37[SPEAKER_04]: The god does George Perez draw a gorgeous patsy walker.
- 1:04:41[SPEAKER_04]: We have to hear from Allison on Hellcat's moments in Clause.
- 1:04:45[SPEAKER_00]: He was very angry with me through all of the changing accents that I did.
- 1:04:49[SPEAKER_00]: I hit there was so much fun.
- 1:04:50[SPEAKER_00]: I love Patsy Walker when I first started reading her for these script reads.
- 1:04:55[SPEAKER_00]: I didn't know who she was and then I've read a lot of Patsy Walker since then and she's so much fun and she's great.
- 1:05:00[SPEAKER_04]: The moment where she kept an America jump out of the cage and then like bounce off his shield like a trampoline with the hell That's not how that works
- 1:05:08[SPEAKER_01]: Is this the issue where Hatsie is just like, you've been running your whole life?
- 1:05:14[SPEAKER_01]: Haven't you hanked my boy?
- 1:05:16[SPEAKER_01]: See, that's wild that that happened all in this same call.
- 1:05:19[SPEAKER_01]: Like, that feels like a hundred years ago.
- 1:05:22[SPEAKER_01]: But yes, I love that.
- 1:05:23[SPEAKER_01]: Man, all more than I love almost anything in the whole world because these two are so dramatic and like, I, she wrote books, right?
- 1:05:30[SPEAKER_01]: So I'm like her, like her and hanker in that book.
- 1:05:33[SPEAKER_01]: I'm sure.
- 1:05:34[SPEAKER_01]: So I wish somebody would like write a fan version of it.
- 1:05:38[SPEAKER_01]: because I would just love to know about her and hangs like hyper dramatic, like a accusatory relationship.
- 1:05:45[SPEAKER_01]: It's really fun.
- 1:05:46[SPEAKER_04]: Have you ever been that like friend at the table with two other friends who are like on a really bad ADHD, like hyperactive trip, and they like take the word in?
- 1:05:55[SPEAKER_04]: I mean, Beast and Hellcat, man, there's like, there's no get no word into those conversations.
- 1:06:01[SPEAKER_01]: It's so fun.
- 1:06:02[SPEAKER_01]: Yeah, I love, I love this.
- 1:06:04[SPEAKER_01]: I love their friendship.
- 1:06:07[SPEAKER_03]: Going back to Alcat and like, it seems like there's not like a character like her in the way that she used to forceful and is determined to become a hero in the sense of, sorry, I'm collecting my thoughts.
- 1:06:19[SPEAKER_03]: The and it is a female superhero.
- 1:06:22[SPEAKER_03]: So Chad, I'm like fading here.
- 1:06:24[SPEAKER_03]: Sorry.
- 1:06:27[SPEAKER_03]: Don't call him any more.
- 1:06:28[SPEAKER_03]: I'll just smile.
- 1:06:32[SPEAKER_06]: That's good.
- 1:06:33[SPEAKER_06]: I like that Patsy is sort of playing on she lives in the Marvel universe and knows she does where she's like, you can make me a superhero.
- 1:06:41[SPEAKER_06]: I know you can.
- 1:06:42[SPEAKER_06]: You know a guy with a suit or like a serum or something.
- 1:06:45[SPEAKER_06]: You get that going and I will not tell my husband to the Beast.
- 1:06:49[SPEAKER_04]: Yeah, so clause is the theme this month.
- 1:06:51[SPEAKER_04]: We have Hellcat in her suit looking gorgeous.
- 1:06:55[SPEAKER_04]: It fits perfectly and somehow gives her superpowers.
- 1:06:58[SPEAKER_04]: Again, never quite explained to shoot it on the suit.
- 1:07:01[SPEAKER_04]: Game herself and name and suddenly she's doing flips and tricks and she always wanted to be a superhero with read Richards in the photo by her bed.
- 1:07:13[SPEAKER_02]: Just because this is like 1970s, you know, mid 1970s, it is definitely there is the women's liberation movement happening and it is fun to see in these three issues we did to strong females who are taking control of the lives, whether they know what they're doing or not, like between the assassin and patsy being like, but I want this thing that's been, you know, kind of denied me.
- 1:07:34[SPEAKER_02]: or I'm taking a really strong role in that and so there's definitely that vibe even if it is still men writing these stories, they're at least acknowledging that women are breaking away and having their own storylines.
- 1:07:45[SPEAKER_04]: Maybe that's why the assassin wanted to kill just the boy Avengers, like it's like a little superior action, right?
- 1:07:51[SPEAKER_00]: Like that's a quality.
- 1:07:52[SPEAKER_04]: So this patchy plot started a fully year ago in the comics, which is crazy.
- 1:07:57[SPEAKER_04]: It's been running and running.
- 1:07:58[SPEAKER_04]: She finally has a costume.
- 1:08:00[SPEAKER_04]: And next time we get to jump into the DC madness with crisis on other earth.
- 1:08:04[SPEAKER_04]: It's the squadron supreme insanity that we've kind of been waiting for since this started building.
- 1:08:09[SPEAKER_04]: And then we go to the serpent crown after that.
- 1:08:11[SPEAKER_04]: Beast is there for all of these stories.
- 1:08:13[SPEAKER_04]: I'm just having a great time taking this ride wherever it leads us even with silly I I considered not doing the assassin to partner, but it was kind of the Captain America battle that I'm like, okay, maybe we need this even though oh my god, there's so many fucking words in this story.
- 1:08:28[SPEAKER_04]: So let's begin our wind down.
- 1:08:30[SPEAKER_04]: I'd love to hear any final thoughts about this little spot.
- 1:08:32[SPEAKER_04]: And like, what are you excited about next with the Avengers as we move forward with this?
- 1:08:37[SPEAKER_04]: Where can people find you online and anything you want to plug for early September?
- 1:08:41[SPEAKER_04]: And thanks everybody for recording so early with me.
- 1:08:43[SPEAKER_04]: I appreciate it.
- 1:08:44[SPEAKER_04]: It's nice to have the show done in advance.
- 1:08:46[SPEAKER_04]: Uh, follow the show at Grimmolk and Underscore Lane on Instagram.
- 1:08:49[SPEAKER_04]: And I put a book out everybody.
- 1:08:50[SPEAKER_04]: It's called Gameorm and Dad.
- 1:08:52[SPEAKER_04]: I'm super proud of it.
- 1:08:53[SPEAKER_04]: I love it very much.
- 1:08:54[SPEAKER_04]: I would love it if you would like to read it.
- 1:08:56[SPEAKER_04]: And would like to leave a review.
- 1:08:57[SPEAKER_04]: I would very much appreciate it.
- 1:08:58[SPEAKER_02]: Okay, you know, you have to follow Ruth Ann.
- 1:09:01[SPEAKER_02]: So she will hopefully share with you a photo of her in the assassin outfit.
- 1:09:05[SPEAKER_02]: Because we got that enjoyment here.
- 1:09:07[SPEAKER_02]: You did not.
- 1:09:08[SPEAKER_02]: And that's not fair to the world.
- 1:09:09[SPEAKER_02]: you can find me at the uncanny experience.
- 1:09:12[SPEAKER_02]: It's a Pember, like a week after you hear this.
- 1:09:14[SPEAKER_02]: And also check out the Patreon for Grey Malkin' Lane where Chad and I do a Journey Through Kang and a mortises publishing timeline as we discover what happened in what order.
- 1:09:24[SPEAKER_02]: While also pairing it with a sci-fi movie of a certain era and having fun times like watching the entire transwers catalog.
- 1:09:32[SPEAKER_02]: I have thoughts.
- 1:09:33[SPEAKER_06]: I really love this and what I'm excited for is to get to voice hyperion next time I'm talking love doing that dummy's voice.
- 1:09:41[SPEAKER_06]: You can find me at escape the most of us on Instagram It's September.
- 1:09:47[SPEAKER_06]: So we just wrapped up all of House of M or a big blockbuster summer We did a bunch of how like eight episodes with guests Sarah century was on the very second issue of a second block of House of M in July Yeah, we will probably be at the uncanny experience
- 1:10:03[SPEAKER_00]: you can find me at the same Instagram because I don't really check the social media.
- 1:10:07[SPEAKER_00]: Sorry, in September, we're doing back to pool, which means it's back to school so we're reading Deadpool.
- 1:10:13[SPEAKER_06]: First, second annual Deadpool, Marathon.
- 1:10:15[SPEAKER_04]: I think I shared this last time, Allison, but you remind me, I don't even know her name, but there's like an Instagram reel of a girl who's like 19, 20s, she's wearing pants for the first time, and she's like, yeah.
- 1:10:26[SPEAKER_04]: I mean, look at me, I'm wearing pants.
- 1:10:28[SPEAKER_05]: It's this pink, it's a very small collection.
- 1:10:30[SPEAKER_05]: I are reading.
- 1:10:31[SPEAKER_05]: I was like, Allison and this girl's on the exact same.
- 1:10:33[SPEAKER_00]: Are they going to do it?
- 1:10:35[SPEAKER_05]: We will find it for you.
- 1:10:36[SPEAKER_05]: She's hilarious.
- 1:10:37[SPEAKER_00]: Oh my god, I'm more in pants.
- 1:10:40[SPEAKER_05]: It's that.
- 1:10:40[SPEAKER_05]: Like, yeah, so I am Taylor.
- 1:10:42[SPEAKER_05]: I really enjoyed kind of doing a few different accents for this because Beast is really just sort of my normal voice, but a little more news angry.
- 1:10:50[SPEAKER_05]: Yeah, it was fun to kind of do the proctor.
- 1:10:52[SPEAKER_05]: I always enjoyed doing villains.
- 1:10:53[SPEAKER_05]: I could not do a Martin Short voice, although it would have been really fun at the ending.
- 1:10:57[SPEAKER_05]: So I kind of went a little more greasy, sounding instead.
- 1:11:00[SPEAKER_05]: I too will end going to be at the uncanny experience.
- 1:11:04[SPEAKER_05]: I've got some cause plans in the work that I have not started on yet.
- 1:11:07[SPEAKER_05]: So, if those are not come to fruition, you can come and claw me like Patsywood for not getting my costume done in time.
- 1:11:14[SPEAKER_05]: Oh, and Taylor underscored the books to boy on Instagram.
- 1:11:17[SPEAKER_07]: I'm Ruth Ann.
- 1:11:18[SPEAKER_07]: I'm at Head of Dabler on Instagram where maybe maybe you will see a picture of me in my very cool head gear.
- 1:11:25[SPEAKER_07]: Come on on this.
- 1:11:26[SPEAKER_07]: First of all, Chad, I'm very grateful to you for not skipping this story.
- 1:11:29[SPEAKER_07]: I was not familiar with the story, but I'm playing the assassin is so far
- 1:11:35[SPEAKER_07]: So thank you very much.
- 1:11:36[SPEAKER_07]: It's really too bad she's dead because we can't do it anymore.
- 1:11:38[SPEAKER_07]: But that's okay.
- 1:11:39[SPEAKER_07]: I'm going to be the country and tell you I'm not going to the I'm candy experience.
- 1:11:43[SPEAKER_07]: So if anyone else out there is not going come to Toronto and you can hang out with me in September, because that's where I'll be.
- 1:11:49[SPEAKER_07]: I think that's about it.
- 1:11:51[SPEAKER_03]: and I'm Derek Nichols and I'm sorry I am going to the uncanny experience so I'll see you there.
- 1:11:57[SPEAKER_03]: My experiment is Derek J Nichols so you can follow me there.
- 1:12:00[SPEAKER_03]: I'm my thoughts on the past what two hours hour and a half we spent together.
- 1:12:05[SPEAKER_03]: I am so grateful that these three issues did not have so much door speak because I couldn't handle that and I so um props to that otherwise.
- 1:12:19[SPEAKER_04]: Well, because John Dick is his civilian identity, right?
- 1:12:22[SPEAKER_04]: So he speaks differently.
- 1:12:24[SPEAKER_04]: But whenever Thor talks Derek, whenever you're reading him, I'm getting like, when I was a kid saying like, my Mormon prayers, like, we thank Lee for this day.
- 1:12:31[SPEAKER_04]: Like, it was very like, the endow and die and the prayers that have like, a, a, a, a, a, a, a, a, a, a, a, a, a, a, a, a, a, a, a, a, a, a, a, a, a, a, a, a, a, a, a, a, a, a, a, a, a, a, a, a, a, a, a, a, a, a, a, a, a, a, a, a, a, a, a, a, a, a, a, a, a, a, a, a, a, a, a, a
- 1:12:41[SPEAKER_01]: I'm Sarah's century.
- 1:12:42[SPEAKER_01]: I think that what is it Avengers number 144 the first one that we read today?
- 1:12:49[SPEAKER_01]: That is one of the best comics of this entire era.
- 1:12:52[SPEAKER_01]: I love Patsy's introduction.
- 1:12:53[SPEAKER_01]: I love the art here.
- 1:12:55[SPEAKER_01]: I love the colors like the exposition, the long dramatic backstory.
- 1:13:00[SPEAKER_01]: I love that like all of a sudden buzz as a piece of shit.
- 1:13:03[SPEAKER_01]: like there's just so much here and just the fact that she just becomes a locat and it really we did the trial of the locat not like wasn't the move right like becoming a locat was probably actually a really bad move because she's not a very good superhero but she is a great superhero if that makes sense.
- 1:13:21[SPEAKER_01]: So it all begins here, I think that this is also good.
- 1:13:24[SPEAKER_01]: And people, I'm not always taking like social media breaks.
- 1:13:28[SPEAKER_01]: So look at my website if you want to follow me at Saracentary.com and so website that is just links to things that I do because there's so many things that I do, but importantly, this is a month when one of my ex-menzyns will be out.
- 1:13:43[SPEAKER_01]: So so go check that out.
- 1:13:45[SPEAKER_01]: I'm doing a series of ex-menzyms right now that are a lot of words and about my feelings about the ex-men.
- 1:13:52[SPEAKER_04]: I love all of you very much.
- 1:13:53[SPEAKER_04]: Thanks for laughing with me.
- 1:13:54[SPEAKER_04]: You know, these, these Avengers Scriptreets have inspired the trial of Hellcat, the trial of Moon Dragon, the trial of Janet Van Dyne.
- 1:14:01[SPEAKER_04]: Janet and Patsy did nothing wrong, and Heather did a lot wrong, but we love her anyway.
- 1:14:05[SPEAKER_04]: It's also inspired the time travel future with Kevin over on the other show, and there's more Avengers stuff to come with like some big high concept stuff.
- 1:14:12[SPEAKER_04]: So I'm streaming shows now, and I've got some fun plans in store for the next time.
- 1:14:17[SPEAKER_04]: We all get together.
- 1:14:18[SPEAKER_04]: Much love to all of you.
- 1:14:19[SPEAKER_04]: Thank you so much for the ongoing support.
