Latest / Podcast - Big 98.7 / How To Spot A Millenial
Transcript
- 0:00You know, I was reading that gen Z the young ones, and now
- 0:03us millennials we are, uh, we've just been moved up. Is now
- 0:06one of the older generations? Yes? Crazy, how quickly you just went
- 0:09to bed one night, suddenly you're one of the old people. Here we
- 0:12are. And they say that the easiest way to spot a millennial for gen
- 0:17Z is we have a wallet. Well, yeah, apparently where you a
- 0:23hold in your stuff? Well apparently, gen Zy, everything's cashless. They're
- 0:28using Apple pay and they just don't carry wallets or I mean, persons will
- 0:33always be necessary for you ladies, right, I would think so. I
- 0:37can't imagine being purseless. I mean at some point, like if you go
- 0:40to an event or you downsize. I have like three purses in a purse.
- 0:44I mean, there's just so many things that we have. Yeah,
- 0:46I mean, you're never gonna be able to have like digital eyeliner for that
- 0:51queen box or eye drops or whatever, you know, whatever the heck else
- 0:54is going on in there, nags, snacks, diapers, wipes, I
- 0:58mean, you named hair curler, just the works. So yeah, they've
- 1:02just said they don't and listen, I would love to not have to have
- 1:03a wallet, because you know, when you're leaving somewhere, it's always like
- 1:07phone, wallet, keys, got to have all three. It's like,
- 1:10if I could take one of those out of there, that make my life
- 1:11a lot easier because I love to forget things. And I do appreciate that
- 1:15they are trying to make wallets for your cell phones, but it's like they're
- 1:19already really big and like the few things that you would put in it.
- 1:22Yeah, it makes sense. It just kind of feels like Lucy Goosey and
- 1:25out there. And I don't know. I was thinking too, is now
- 1:29you're putting all your eggs in one basket. It's like, if you lose
- 1:32your phone, then you've also lost your wallet. It's gonna be a little
- 1:34harder to lose your phone if the wallet's attached. You would think, but
- 1:38one thing, because I take a picture or two. I mean barely you
- 1:42barely see any pictures. Yeah, I looked at your social media ands you're
- 1:44like, gosh, did she go black? Like what's going on? Dark?
- 1:48Yeah? No, So I I ended up taking pictures the other day
- 1:53when one of my girlfriends had that. I'm like, it's just trying to
- 1:57like you have to like open the flap and then try to take a picture.
- 2:00It was a little clunky for me. It is a little clunky.
- 2:02I mean it's practical for sure, but yeah, it's uh, it's it
- 2:07would be nice to not have, Like I know, we've moved away from
- 2:08cash a long time ago. I did see a study though that because you
- 2:12ever wonder, like if you have cash, sometimes people think like they'll spend
- 2:15more or they'll spend less. Like with a car, do you're just swiping?
- 2:17You're swiping? Yeah, if I if you have that hundred dollars bill,
- 2:23it takes everything to use it because you're like, I don't want to
- 2:25break that, honey. Yeah, you it makes you feel that way.
- 2:28You're like, okay, now it's only two twenties left on the other side
- 2:31of it. You get to the point where you just want to get rid
- 2:34of it. That's how I feel when I have cash. Oh no,
- 2:37I want to I want to try to save it. Really, maybe I
- 2:39should get back to just cold, hard cash. It would be weird because
- 2:43you're right, one hundred dollars on quick little oop there you go like,
- 2:46oh that was a bummer. But it doesn't even FaZe me. No,
- 2:49I just don't look at it if I hand somebody on to them and be
- 2:53like no, no, you keep pulling it back like you're just not sure.
- 2:57No, no, no, I wanted it a minute in the morning,
- 3:00big nutty eight point seven. Well, Dad's it is all about you
- 3:01this weekend, now, Amanda, I thought we'd give your the dad in
- 3:06your life a call, your husband, Nick. Yes, he's on the
- 3:07phone now, Hello Nick, Hello, Hello Dad, how are you?
- 3:13We just want to call you because it's Father's Day weekend and I know you
- 3:15being a dad, it's kind of a big deal. So how you feeling
- 3:19going into the weekend. So here's the gym. I'm sure you know.
- 3:22So today kicks off the member guests at Oxbow, so I got to get
- 3:27mentally ready. Oh I'm so sorry. No, he is a locky,
- 3:30Nick. You got member guest at Oxbow and we're messing on the phone with
- 3:35you. I feel terrible. Well real quick, then we'll let you get
- 3:37there. You want to get loose, of course, you want to hit
- 3:38a few role, a few pie. You've got some time, hit a
- 3:40small bucket at the okay, perfect. So Father's Day weekend. We just
- 3:45wanted to know because Amanda I'm sure has no idea what it is dad's really
- 3:49want on Father's Day. I'm not a daddy, so you know, just
- 3:53be open and honest with us, Nick, What is it that you want
- 3:54on Father's Day? What I really want? If I could, I love
- 4:00to switch roles with my wife just a couple hours in the morning. Really,
- 4:04she can come in there and goof off. I'll come in there and
- 4:10goof off for a little bit. And you know, look at the tmz
- 4:14app and listen. Okay, it's way more than that. You can get
- 4:17the kids job, get them ready dressed to school perfect, That's all I
- 4:21want. A lot of people think we come in here and it's just mess
- 4:25around time, and they would be right, that is what it is.
- 4:28But you, meanwhile, every morning, Nick, you're doing like dad and
- 4:30mom duties with your two young kids, getting them ready for school, dressed,
- 4:34bad to school off, all of you got. I mean that that
- 4:38is a lot. So you think Amanda should do that if she's up for
- 4:42the challenge, I welcome one day. Fathers could possibly do it. I
- 4:46think I could use a little time off as well. So why don't why
- 4:49don't you come in tomorrow, Nick and you'll get the TMZ articles ready and
- 4:54then Amanda, you'll be excused for a couple hours. You go get the
- 4:57kids and you take you will leave Nick for a day, So I get
- 4:59to sleep in tomorrow and get the kids ready for school and go back.
- 5:02And I'm setting three alarms at three thirty. Yeah, four, five,
- 5:09Yeah, I'm gonna make I don't know how our light twitches must have like
- 5:13boom boxed them, so every time she turns a light on it, No,
- 5:15you'll get the full effect of me. Noisiest possible disregarding anybody else's sleep
- 5:20schedule. I love it. Pike and Nick in good morning tomorrow. Nice
- 5:27it gag me. All right, Well, good luck at the Battle of
- 5:30the Bowl. Yeah, good luck at the tourney the member guests. But
- 5:33Nick will see you tomorrow. That was good looking forward to it. I
- 5:36get Amanda in the morning. Seven. Imagine getting on a flight and knowing
- 5:42that you've got to go across the entire Atlantic oceans. I'm gonna have anxiety
- 5:47just in general. Well, if the plane crashes, Amanda, whether it's
- 5:50an ocean or a feed an eye, Oway, I know I don't like
- 5:55your for me. It's like when you're over the water. It's like,
- 5:58where are we landing here? Case like justin they did on Castaway. I
- 6:03gotcha. Well, so this plane was traveling across the Atlantic. Now I
- 6:08was coming from London over here to the US flight headed on a British Airway
- 6:12flight to Houston. What a destination. So they're on this flight, they
- 6:15get all the way across the Atlantic ocean. Think about how long that took?
- 6:17How many movies you have to watch on this British Airways flight. You
- 6:21just take a benadrilla and take a nap, don't you on a long flight
- 6:26like that? I feel like you gotta. I don't know if feel if
- 6:28you're headed the Houston. Baby, you're having a good time. So they
- 6:31get literally to the US where you think, okay, the plane's gonna start
- 6:35to dessent, start chowing, some gum my ears are gonna pop. Suddenly
- 6:39this plane starts turning around total. And you've ever been on a plane like
- 6:44if you like take off and you have to turn around immediately, like it's
- 6:46a very sudden, like you know you're turning around right. So this plane
- 6:49turns around and goes all the way back to London because of an issue with
- 6:56the engine. So their solution instead of just landing, what nine hours these
- 7:02people were on this flight only to land at the airport they had taken off
- 7:09from nine hours earlier. I would lose my mind because we are on a
- 7:13flight no matter how long it is, like three hours or nine it's like
- 7:16you never get there and go, oh wow, that was quick. It's
- 7:18always just excruciating, like every minute feels like ten minutes. I always like
- 7:23set a timer. As soon as we get on the flight. I listen
- 7:26for the pilot. That's the only thing I listened for. Otherwise it's,
- 7:29you know, pure gibberish. But I always listening for our flight's going to
- 7:32be, uh, three hours and thirty five minutes, wheels up to wheels
- 7:38down. And then I put it on my phone. I put three hours
- 7:40and thirty five minutes. I hit start as soon as the wheels are up
- 7:42in that way, because I always get confused in the air, like what
- 7:45time zone are we in? Yeah? Sometimes your phone doesn't switch. Has
- 7:47it changed yet? Are we in there for two hours or has it only
- 7:49been one? I don't know what a good plane hack yet, that is
- 7:53all hack. I don't have many hacks. In this life. But I
- 7:56will say doing that setting a timer right when you take off. Also,
- 7:59it's crazy how accurate it is. Like literally I'll see it counting down ten
- 8:03to nine to eight and the wheels hit the ground wild. I do really
- 8:07have to take a moment to tell you, please that pilot impersonation you just
- 8:13did. If something goes wrong here in radio, you've got it. You
- 8:18think I could be a got it? Yeah, hit it one more time
- 8:20in case somebody didn't take it in like I did. And of course this
- 8:24is the main qualifier for being a pilot, Oh totally. It never like
- 8:26flying the plane fly themselves. That's what I heard it anyway. But up,
- 8:31you know you gotta that's three hours in thirty five minutes flight time.
- 8:37Looking at the weather in Houston, you got mostly clear skies, wins out
- 8:43of the northeast about five miles per hour. It should be a pretty smooth
- 8:46flight. Thank you for flying American Airlines. That's when I fall asleep and
- 8:50I'm out. Now that was good. Unless I'm traveling with my kids,
- 8:54of course, then it's snacks, nick stickers whatever. Once a pilot,
- 8:58then then you get like the peppy flight attendant who loves their job, and
- 9:01it's like bike. If we're looking for a new career, welcome aboard.
- 9:05I would like to let you know about our front tier flight today. Or
- 9:09you'll say something some sticky like I guess we're going to Vegas baby, and
- 9:13then I'll pull out the Travis Kelsey Viva. At that point that's enough.
- 9:18I'm doing like the hand over my neck, like cut it out. That's
- 9:20enough. Take in a mana in the morning. Seven man. It's twenty
- 9:24twenty four, and there are new slang words that we need to be aware
- 9:28of. Is we just tried it? I mean, you got young kids.
- 9:31Eventually they're gonna be start, you know, using these words. He's
- 9:33slang terms. You're gonna have to know what they mean. They picked up
- 9:37bro along the way your kids, Yes, they brow ready, and it
- 9:41drives me crazy, like okay, bro, no, at least we're not
- 9:48saying bruh. But still, well, I mean your son is three,
- 9:50Yeah, it's saying it's mainly said, but yeah, back and forth whatever
- 9:54whatever she does he does. Of course, of course, Well, here's
- 9:58the new ones in twenty twenty four that are trending on TikTok. The word
- 10:03fail marriage. One word. Have you heard that? No? Fail marriage?
- 10:07And I personally don't want to. I guess I don't think so well,
- 10:09you probably know, you probably don't. The definition being it's a marriage
- 10:13in free fall, but the couple chooses to stay together anyway. Fail marriage.
- 10:18Little Ben and Jen going on here? Maybe possibly, I don't know.
- 10:22Are they in a free fall? I don't know. I feel like
- 10:24we're watching it kind of crumble. Uh, but who I don't know what
- 10:28that is. I've never heard anybody who's that. It sounds stupid. Yeah,
- 10:31I don't care for it. This one, though, I've heard this
- 10:33one. Glazing? Have you heard of glazing? All I'm thinking about right
- 10:39now is a big old Sandy's donut. Not quiet. Glazing refers to over
- 10:43hyping something you have, somebody like just really pumping something up or being a
- 10:48big fan, and yeah, yes, you've heard that. I feel like
- 10:52I am always like, oh my gosh, it's gonna be so great.
- 10:54You're so excited. Everything is just very and it's like, okay, it's
- 10:58Tuesday whatever. It's more person specific, so not like a thing, but
- 11:03like a person like here. I pulled it up on Urban Dictionary, The
- 11:07Great Resource so read lately. Here the sentence it would be lebron, Oh
- 11:11my god, I love you. You are the goat. I love you
- 11:15so much, to which somebody would respond the glazing is insane. Oh got
- 11:20it? So I see what you mean. I was like, oh my
- 11:22gosh, I work with Pike every single morning. He's awesome, such a
- 11:26great guy. I mean, he is in a band, and just somebody
- 11:30can say, oh my god, the glazing. Yep, And I think
- 11:33the what it's derived from is rather gross. I'm not going to get into
- 11:37it, but okay, don't you get that. Don't you get that feeling
- 11:39I'm picking up. What I'm saying is I don't think it's a Sandy's donut.
- 11:45Next slang term in twenty twenty four, we need to be aware of
- 11:46pooky and now this is one from the past that apparently is making a comeback,
- 11:52just like fashion comes back, slang terms come back. Pooky, the
- 11:54term of endearment, came back in a significant way in twenty twenty four.
- 11:58I cannot agin my husband and air texting right now about O day if I
- 12:01was like, all right, Pooky, but I think it's good to recycle,
- 12:07like the pet names, because like, for one in the two thousands,
- 12:11I feel like babe was was big and that to me, it's kind
- 12:13of like babe crim If my husband's like, hey, babe, I use
- 12:18that is endearing to me. Still, really yeah, it feels a little
- 12:22outdated in our household. Really is a pooky and pooky just feels like it
- 12:26somehow, no matter how you say it, it feels baby talk to me.
- 12:30And I am so anti that when you're talking to your significant Yes,
- 12:33aren't you a big baby talking? Not even a little bit. I'm pretty
- 12:37sure I've heard you baby talk. That's you. You always like, oh,
- 12:39yeah, you're right. I was thinking of me. You who are
- 12:43I'm not a baby talker, not even a little And finally, with the
- 12:46dog, maybe sometimes I'll be like, oh come here, girl, so
- 12:50I'll do that now we're talking. And finally, yap big slang term in
- 12:54twenty twenty four, and this is another one. Oh do I got a
- 12:56big yap? Do you like happen? Oh? What did you just say?
- 13:01I've got a big yap? Yeah? Like you're yapping on this.
- 13:05I don't know if that's the right usage, but they say it refers to
- 13:07talking excessively or at length, which yeah, which, like I mentioned,
- 13:13I guess Amanda in that sense. Yes, you've got a big yap in
- 13:20a minute in the morning on Big Nunty eight point seven. You have to
- 13:24spect to thing when you hear that telephone room by spread fucking number, this
- 13:31lesson by spread, Sonny want arrested by Father's Day week and a Manda,
- 13:39and we're gonna be talking about, you know what fathers really want on Father's
- 13:43Day? And I think the obvious answer is to be prank called. You
- 13:46know, some dads actually might really enjoy that. We'll find out about this
- 13:50dad because his wife reached out and just wanted to have a little surprise for
- 13:54him. So Father's Day fun. Here we go, Pike sprank happening.
- 13:58Okay, Hello, well, good morning. Is this Todd? Yeah,
- 14:07Todd? This is Chochy Baggins with the City of Fargo and also chairman of
- 14:11this year's citywide Top Dad Competition, And Todd, I've got good news,
- 14:18kidding me. That's right, Todd. You are anonymously nominated and I am
- 14:24excited to inform you that you have now made it to the top ten in
- 14:28this year's Top Dad competition. What that's pretty cool. Okay, So,
- 14:33like, what do I need to do? Well? First question, Todd,
- 14:37and this one's kind of a softball. We know how much you dads
- 14:39love softball, so I'm just going to ask you to use your mouth to
- 14:43show me what sound a lawnmower makes. You're joking, right, No,
- 14:50Todd, I am not. I know it might seem silly, but if
- 14:52you want to be top dad, this is what you're going to have to
- 14:56do. So go ahead. Uh okay, okay, sounds like a John
- 15:05Deere, not bad, Todd. Next up, it's our hypothetical situation portion.
- 15:09Now these situations, only a true top dad would know the answer.
- 15:15I'm so sorry. How long is this gonna take? Just one more moment?
- 15:18Hold your horses, Todd. Okay, now pretend I am your ten
- 15:20year old son. It's a beautiful summer day and I've been playing inside on
- 15:26the computer for hours. What do you say to me? What do I
- 15:31say to you? Yeah, I'm your ten year old son. What do
- 15:35you say to me? I'd say get your butt outside? Well, not
- 15:43very convincing, Todd. You know, just because I like you, I
- 15:46feel like we've got a good vibe here. I'm gonna let you try it
- 15:48again. Okay, now this time, Todd, I really want to feel
- 15:52the dad coming through the phone. All right, go ahead, hey listen
- 15:58here. Well, you better get off those video games and get your blot
- 16:03outside or I have to take those controllers away. Ooh, I was good,
- 16:07Todd. Yeah, this is this is this is this is silly right,
- 16:12like this can be an actual thing? Oh, it's real, all
- 16:15right, all right, Todd. So next up, I'm gonna have you
- 16:18a grunt like you're trying to open a pickle jar for your daughter. Go
- 16:22ahead, No, no, no, there's no this is this is not
- 16:26real. I don't know what it is. Todd. Listen, if you
- 16:27want to be a top dad, you're gonna have to grunt. Now,
- 16:30go ahead and give me a grunt, buddy, I'm not gonna grunt.
- 16:33Well that's unfortunate because between me and you and everyone listening, Todd, there
- 16:40are nine other candidates who I will say all had pretty impressive grunts. So
- 16:42it's not looking good. Wait, you said everyone listening. Who's listening?
- 16:48Well, I guess it's hard to say for sure, but I know at
- 16:51least your wife is listening. Todd. It's Piking Amanda in the morning on
- 16:53Big ninety eight point seven. Amanda's Amanda's listening. I know that too,
- 17:00Pike's plank. Yeah, oh no way, Oh well, where did she
- 17:07do that? Oh my gosh. She thought it was that's todd. Your
- 17:10wife, Leah thought it would be funny a little early Father's Day, surprised
- 17:14for you, just to prank call you. So it was her idea.
- 17:15I would really still like to hear that grunt out of you, though,
- 17:19you know, I'm so dumb. I knew that wasn't going to be a
- 17:22real thing. And I feel like a you know, I mean, your
- 17:26top dad in your kid's eyes, our in our It's like you gotta be
- 17:32like to happy Father's Day. Man, keep it up. Oh man,
- 17:38I thank you. I appreciate you, guys, Pike and a man in
- 17:42the morning. I want to run something by you, okay, and this
- 17:48my team A little out there, oh boy, a little nervous. I
- 17:52think I might be for it. There is a restaurant that is banning people.
- 17:57Now anytime you're talking about banning a certain yeah, my category of people.
- 18:00Easy, easy, I know. But they have a rule where nobody
- 18:04under the age of thirty five is allowed in the restaurant places called Bliss Caribbean
- 18:11restaurants down in Saint Louis. And the actual rule it's different for men and
- 18:14women. So it's getting a little sticky already. No men under the age
- 18:18of thirty five, no women under the age of thirty. Now, they
- 18:22say, the rule, why would that be? What is why are we
- 18:26This is what am I missing? This is what they're going for. They
- 18:27say the rule helps ensure a grown and sexy atmosphere at the restaurant. Wow.
- 18:34That, I mean, honestly just flattered that they're thinking after thirty five
- 18:38is when you really got it going on. Absolutely, Hey, the best
- 18:42years are yet to come. Well that's right. I felt like usually it's
- 18:45the opposite where you feel like those are my glory days back in my twenties.
- 18:49Well, not for this restaurant. And they say it's been successful.
- 18:52They say they want to ensure an upscale dining experience. And I suppose if
- 18:56you like, take out the bachelorette parties and just like people looking to party.
- 19:02Now, other restaurants are considering a similar rule, and they say that
- 19:06the older customers tend to buy more food, tend to be more well behaved.
- 19:11What do you think? I think it really depends on the crew,
- 19:14what you're going out for all of that, because sometimes it's the opposite.
- 19:18I mean, you just never really know. Would that mean you and I
- 19:22wouldn't be able to dine together because you're not thirty five yet? It's true,
- 19:25I wouldn't be welcome in this restaurant. And now suddenly it's personal.
- 19:29You're young who again? You know, I'm just you know, us twenty
- 19:33one and or so age people are so yeah, we're just kind of party
- 19:37animals and we wouldn't want to hang out with you old people anyway. No,
- 19:40No, actually this sounds like exactly what I would want because I'm like
- 19:42all about you know, having kids. Get a restaurants. Yeah, but
- 19:45it's not even that like take the kids out of it because they can't go
- 19:48to bars anyway, right for the most part. But yeah, like a
- 19:52restaurant that's that's this speed would be great. Now. I wonder though,
- 19:55it's sort of a slippery slope because if we start banning people under a certain
- 19:57age, could they have restauran banning people over a certain age? I would
- 20:03think, so, are we just going to segregate the entire community. It
- 20:06doesn't that also kind of have like that underlying feel. I mean there's times
- 20:08and I won't mention any names. I'll go into a bar so to speak,
- 20:12and I'm like, oh my gosh, I feel like a grandma,
- 20:17Like your bones just dissolve. Yeah, because you're the oldest person to ever
- 20:22live. There was one time, and you know, just trying to fly
- 20:25under the radar, I was bellied up and I was there for an event,
- 20:26and no joke, this girl walks by me, looks at me and
- 20:30goes, what are you doing here? I was like, like, are
- 20:36you okay? Are you safe? To help getting home? What do you
- 20:38mean? She's like, I don't know. I just never would have thought
- 20:41you'd be here. I mean I didn't know how to take it because it
- 20:45was one of those things where it's very expensive just a bar, and it's
- 20:48just a bar. Apparently like once you have two kids, you're not allowed
- 20:52in that bar. It was wild. Well no, I mean I think
- 20:53they know you and know that, Like, why would you want to be
- 20:56at a bar where you can't move, you can't get a drink conversation?
- 21:03Forget about it? Like it Amanda in the morning. Now, Amanda stills,
- 21:07let's see, let's see Gail, what are you doing? Gail King
- 21:11and Oprah have been friends for years and Gail is still on a morning show
- 21:17on CBS, and Oprah, I guess was supposed to swing on by and
- 21:19do some sort of appearance. So I don't know what she was thinking,
- 21:23but she did not need to over explain why Oprah couldn't attend. I mean,
- 21:27she did her friend dirty here literally, and I'm so sorry that Oprah
- 21:30can't. Yesterday she said, I'm gonna rally. I'm going to rally.
- 21:33She has some kind of stomach thing, stomach flu where stuff was coming out
- 21:37of both ends. I won't get too graphic, but needless to say,
- 21:41she ended up in the hospital dehydration and oma to ivy. So it was
- 21:44a very serious thing. Can I call Gail and ask what would have been
- 21:47more graphic if it's coming out of both that, Like, what else could
- 21:51you have said? Yeah? Like, are we going to explain the consistency
- 21:53of it, because that's how we're at We're just saying the flu in general.
- 21:56You know what people are talking about. We've all had the flu,
- 22:00we all know what that consists of but to describe it and then to go
- 22:03on and say she was in the hospital, like none of that was necessary,
- 22:07say she couldn't make it, and people felt like we did. They
- 22:10heard that and went, oh, man, like what are you doing?
- 22:12So she ended up calling Oprah. Were you offended because I said what I
- 22:15said about how you're what happened and how you were recovering. I really didn't
- 22:19think it was a big deal or that it would be something that would be
- 22:23upsetting to you. Otherwise I never would have said it. Yeah, I
- 22:26know, you wouldn't have done that. Sometimes when you're off, Amanda,
- 22:30when you're on vacation, I'll explained that you're gone because of some sort of
- 22:33stomach issue. Oh god, so I've done that. But he's a little
- 22:36gassy today. Guys. Sorry, she couldn't come in. You get out
- 22:38of bed, coming out of both ends. They all know now she's probably
- 22:42just at the lake again. They know that's less exiting. They know,
- 22:47Oh, they know, all right. We have been following along with Ben
- 22:51and j Low and it's just exhausting at this point. But people are trying
- 22:53to make a story out of it. And we just found out that there
- 22:56was a graduation ceremony again earlier this week for one of his kids. Jennifer
- 23:00Lopez showed up with her kids. Ben ended up driving with his mom totally
- 23:03fine, but they ended up like not interacting together. So I don't know
- 23:07if they just sat in different areas or what. It just feels weird that
- 23:11why would you go if your jen is not your child. I'm sure you
- 23:15love the kid, but you've been a part of his life now for a
- 23:18couple of years. But true, three, how long? How long has
- 23:21this whole thing been going on? Again? It had too years ago that
- 23:25Ben for two point zero, right, something like that. I just just
- 23:27break up or get back. I know they're very annoying the whole thing.
- 23:30I feel that all right. Travis Kelsey, I thought for sure when he
- 23:37was set to retire, just the way he's laying and out right now would
- 23:41be more in the acting world, Nate. I mean, he's doing the
- 23:44game show. We'll see how that goes. Maybe that'll just be a game
- 23:47show that sticks. What if he just be oh my gosh, what if
- 23:49Travis Kelcey becomes like the next Pat say Jack, I would be wild,
- 23:52yes, exactly. But then again, every morning. I turn on Good
- 23:56Morning America and see Michael Strahan leading the story about the war, and you
- 24:00know, you would have never thought, no, I never would have seen.
- 24:03He really has come a long way. And Travis Kelce, this is
- 24:06the route he said he wanted to take. Do you get an opportunity to
- 24:08be an owner of an Apple team? I know, yes? Why because
- 24:11I want to broadcast when I'm done playing. You want a broadcast? You're
- 24:15saying that right now, you want to broadcast? Yes, what do you
- 24:18want to do? I want to be all right here and tell them about
- 24:19the game and the old ball coach, ladies. I would have been a
- 24:22talking here that calls the games, and I think you would do a good
- 24:26job. I mean, the bar is pretty low. We've listened to this
- 24:27podcast numerous times. I'm a fan of it. You actually ruined it for
- 24:32me because of the way you think Travis Kelce talks and how Yeah, I
- 24:36don't listen to the whole thing though, I just hear these clips and it
- 24:37would be like his brother Jason says something funny and charming and thoughtful, and
- 24:42Travis almost always goes all right now, and then you know you're just not
- 24:48gonna be able to do a broadcast with that. You would have to turn
- 24:52that into like some sort of drinking game if you're watching the game. If
- 24:55it was that ridiculous, I would like to think if I'm watching Fox on
- 24:57Sunday watching the Packers destroy somebody, Oh yeah, I'm not going to be
- 25:02here in Travis got all right now, or maybe he will and that'll be
- 25:04his thing. That'll be his catchphrase every touchdown. All right now, no
- 25:10thanks, I think I'm good. Now here's what you need to know.
- 25:15Well, he's been wanting to do this for a while and it happened.
- 25:18Elon Musk has now made the like button on x formerly known as Twitter hidden,
- 25:23so now it's i mean, kind of convenient. Last week, remember
- 25:27he updated the new policy that adult content can be on there, but he
- 25:32basically just said that he doesn't want people to feel discouraged from liking content that
- 25:36might be a little edgy, because he doesn't want anybody to have retaliation from
- 25:40trolls or kind of protect their public gets. It is because when you do
- 25:44like any post or tweet, everybody that your friends with or follows you see
- 25:48is like that you liked that tweet, right, and so it's basically without
- 25:52contact, that's you endorsing that tweet. So if it's like if it is
- 25:56appropriate thing or politically, you know, it's like, oh that's how he
- 26:00feels whatever that tweet says, that's him saying. I agree. I definitely
- 26:04hold back from liking and doing that stuff. I'm not a big Twitter user,
- 26:08but like on Instagram, there's a lot of celebrities I fall and I'm
- 26:11like, oh, that's good. I'm like, you know what, I'm
- 26:14good. Like, let's just not even go there because I don't need anybody
- 26:18to know. I mean, Instagram, it's funny to see, Like,
- 26:19it's always funny to see who likes like Dua Lipa's boss. You know.
- 26:22Oh you you too? Huh oh you got this one you noticed as well.
- 26:27Speaking of hiding things, Apple, we were talking about their new iOS
- 26:32eighteen update on the iPhone and now I guess you can keep your apps secret.
- 26:37Seriously, why are we trying to hide things? I mean, whether
- 26:41it's a hookup app or whether it is someone trying to hide their shopping history.
- 26:45If I was handing over your phone that you can just hide them now,
- 26:48well, I mean your phone has like a lot code, you know,
- 26:51pass code, So it's like you're hiding it from yourself, I would
- 26:55assume. And that's what's so icky about it. The only other I mean,
- 26:57nobody's if I gave you my phone own right now to do whatever?
- 27:00Are you really just gonna start deep diving? Good for you. There's pictures
- 27:03of my kids here. You go, oh, I could find something.
- 27:07You think you could find a little something. Some think we could all find
- 27:08a little something. And the AI, I guess AI of course, is
- 27:14getting a little out of hand. But this is crazy. There is now
- 27:17a candidate that is running for mayor that is AI generated. This is in
- 27:19Wyoming. They're saying it's an upbeat, masculine identity. He is going by
- 27:25the name. That's what I like in my mayor. Upbeat and masculine.
- 27:32You gotta love it. So this AI vic can read documents at lightning speed.
- 27:37Good and also what trade I like in my ma of course, sparking
- 27:41a debate whether or not you can have a bot hold office. But I
- 27:45guess it is a son of the local newspaper columnists who wanted to use the
- 27:48tech gadget, but says he'll be helping with everything that's going on. Well,
- 27:52I just don't see this. At first thought, I'm like, well,
- 27:55that's not okay. We can't have a bot being the mayor of a
- 27:57town. But then you said it was Wyoming, which there's hardly any towns
- 28:00in any way, so I imagine it's a small place. Then I remember
- 28:04back in the Minnesota village of what deck was it called? It was Cormrod,
- 28:10I think it is. It was a dog named Duke. There was
- 28:11a dog, and I'm sure Duen. Well, then Duke is likely no
- 28:15longer with us. I don't know for sure, but yeah, he was
- 28:18a mayor and he held office, and I think he was re elected so
- 28:21obviously did a fine job. So go ahead. Maybe it's more qualified an
- 28:26AI bought with infinite knowledge or a dog who is just sweeps And yeah,
- 28:32all right, gonna be great today for a big happy hour out of the
- 28:33local seven oh one in West Fargo, going out there and enjoy from four
- 28:37until six o'clock. First ninety eight people get a beer. It is going
- 28:41to beautiful sunny and a high of eighty one.
