- 0:01My name is Rex 45 from be forever.
- 0:03Cool podcast. I'm here with my main, man.
- 0:08TJ from two wheels, and coffee what's going on man?
- 0:14Another Day in Paradise, just kind of down to the riding
- 0:19season, right? I think it's like 117 days or
- 0:22something like that. I saw not really counting down,
- 0:25but all I'm doing is, you know, just watching motive for that
- 0:27psycho videos every day and I'm count and Definitely counting
- 0:31looking up gear. What can I buy next?
- 0:33Because I need a helmet. I need some new gloves, it's
- 0:37that time. So it's good that we're talking
- 0:40about what we need, right? Go through the process again.
- 0:43Right, right, right right. No doubt no doubt.
- 0:45So yeah, let's dive right into it.
- 0:47For those that are new to the motorcycle are racing track day,
- 0:53more racing that track day because both of us if you've
- 0:56watched the first few episodes you know that You know, we just
- 1:01jumped right into racing and and you have yet to do a track day,
- 1:05correct. Never down to track that I
- 1:07wouldn't attract. They we're not recommending it
- 1:09it's not for everyone. So I did a lot of folks that
- 1:12that we know that that's come from track day and they do
- 1:16fairly well in racing after. So it's just kind of just how
- 1:20our lives happen to play out that way.
- 1:23And it's more about, you know finances.
- 1:25I think the way it's like I rather go racing then doing
- 1:28track day, but track days are definitely important because you
- 1:30have to Train the race and the best place to do that.
- 1:33Is that a track day? Yeah, like I said it's good
- 1:37there were talking about this because I've never done a track
- 1:39day and the Riders I've been around a surprise that I have
- 1:44never been to another track besides the one, I've been on.
- 1:46Hmm. But, you know, I did the school
- 1:49Penguins school. So bright that got me into
- 1:53writing and getting my race license.
- 1:55So, yep. I was just fortunate enough to
- 1:57just ride there. So, the funds come into play It
- 2:01is expensive. So now I'm trying to get my feet
- 2:03wet to explore so that's the that's the goal.
- 2:08So that that and it well enough to go you're already doing it.
- 2:11You just want to continue that go right get the other tracks
- 2:14and you know do track days instead of racing just you know
- 2:17see the environment all around no doubt.
- 2:21So yeah so you know at this point in time for most folks
- 2:24know for myself it's like you're I've already read.
- 2:27You know, if your race and now case we're racing, if you're
- 2:30doing the Track day, whatever track organization is you know,
- 2:34whatever Club it is just read their rule books, and they
- 2:37policy. So you, you know, you know,
- 2:39what's going on, you know what to expect, and a no surprises,
- 2:44you know, same thing with learned, you know, read the
- 2:46track rules and what you can do, where you can park and, and,
- 2:49and, and, and those type of things, which is, you know, it
- 2:54just makes your life easier when you're prepared.
- 2:56Right. Yeah.
- 2:56So, you know, when they talk about the rule book like you
- 2:59know, what do you actually mean? It's like you know, when you
- 3:02pull up, you know this, there's some places where, you know, you
- 3:06can camp at the track, some places you can't correct.
- 3:09The only track I've been to is loud and I know you can camp
- 3:12there. So sometimes is the fee to Decay
- 3:16to Camp. Yep.
- 3:18You got to make sure you have camping gear or someplace to
- 3:20sleep there. Correct Crown.
- 3:22But there are hotels around but there are some tracks that you
- 3:26think you mentioned. You know they don't have Places
- 3:30where you can camp on the track correct?
- 3:32Correct correct. Yeah, most most places.
- 3:35Well no that's no not no. This is a few places if you
- 3:40tracks. I've been to eight tracks seven
- 3:43or eight tracks now mostly on the East Coast, only on the East
- 3:46Coast from you know Homestead you know up to Loudon and and
- 3:52most tracks you can camp out for a fee.
- 3:56You may not have power. You may not have a 30 A, a 110
- 4:00outlet available for everyone. So most of the tracks are first.
- 4:04Come first, serve Loudon. There's a lot of amenities at
- 4:08Loudon that are not a lot of these other tracks.
- 4:12So that's why it's important to like I when I first, you know, I
- 4:15expect every place to have showers, but there's some
- 4:19places. Don't and see, bike doesn't have
- 4:20a they do but it's like, I think one or two in the facility where
- 4:25Loudon you know, we have we have more than that and you know and
- 4:29so That's the thing that you want to figure out, do you need
- 4:31to bring a generator at this track?
- 4:33Because if you don't get there early enough, you may not get a
- 4:36110 or 30 amp General, you need a 30, 30, amp 110, you know,
- 4:41depends on what you're doing and how comfortable you want to be.
- 4:45It will determine how much power you need.
- 4:49So, there's a lot to think about with camping, but for the most
- 4:53part. Yeah, if you are, you know, if
- 4:55you do the research and just go on on these facilities,
- 4:57websites, You know you'll get everything you need.
- 5:03That's some tracks. You know they do like a one-day
- 5:06track day but my opinion if you do ride I think you want to stay
- 5:11overnight and do a couple days of riding is expensive.
- 5:14You kind of got to want to get your money's worth right for
- 5:17sure. Check the rule book and it is
- 5:21there's a lot of other rules that go along.
- 5:23So you know, depending on what by could have no there you
- 5:28gotta. Have wire ties.
- 5:30You gotta have your drain bolt plug wire tied right.
- 5:36Safety wire. I'm sorry right off of sure that
- 5:39that this little you need like a notebook to write down all the
- 5:45things that you need but you know going back to camp and how
- 5:49was it for you you know camping at Loudon and and and and where
- 5:53you, where you put, how prepared were you the first time compared
- 5:57to everybody else, you know? When do it was our first time,
- 6:00we had the little mini tent. They slept like two people.
- 6:04Uh-huh. But it worked, right.
- 6:07It was cold. Sometimes we have a little space
- 6:10heater and our blankets. And you know, you gotta bring
- 6:13pillows extra blank is asleep on on put on the floor, right?
- 6:18That's it. You know, that Rupert treated
- 6:20like camping, got you, got you? So yeah.
- 6:23I mean, you're a minimalist and in the first, you know, first
- 6:28days at the track. I think, I think my first few
- 6:30days, you know, I stayed in a hotel and, and and, and camping
- 6:35came later for me. And after you realized, you
- 6:40know, I didn't realize all the cost and it was kind of like,
- 6:42oh, it's better to be at the track, so, I take that back.
- 6:46So, the first time that I went to the track, when would a group
- 6:48of friends? So we all gotta, you know, a
- 6:51hotel, second time, we got an Airbnb, okay?
- 6:54And then, you know, okay, I guess the cost came into play
- 6:58and my Addiction for this, right?
- 7:01And forced myself to get a tent. It's the final way there.
- 7:04And only thing I had said, none of my friends were still
- 7:09participating at the time. Yeah.
- 7:11A little tent and got me through, right?
- 7:14Yeah. And that's a there.
- 7:16A lot of people that, that, that camp out, well, we all camp out,
- 7:19it's just different levels and but a lot of people are intense
- 7:23and and just, you know, be a minimal one burner with a small
- 7:29probe. Tank and a cooking food.
- 7:33But the focus is very high on a track like you have to, you
- 7:39know, be mentally prepared. So to be sleeping at the track
- 7:43and waking up me. There's, it's recommended.
- 7:46Yeah, it is. It is gonna travel and write
- 7:49that half hour or 45 minutes, so whatever you getting up to
- 7:52getting dressed and then you drive in and by the time you get
- 7:56the, you've already been up for maybe an hour and and And you
- 7:59could just be there and step out like, you know, 10 minutes to it
- 8:03saves 50 minutes and you know, and then you just turn on your
- 8:07warmers and and do what you need to do for your breakfast and and
- 8:11and get your mind right. So we got.
- 8:17So again the rules we got well I you know, as far as my rules of
- 8:25of, you know, going to the track these days.
- 8:29It is, you know, trying to be as self-sustained as possible.
- 8:33You know. I've been doing it for a while
- 8:35now so you know like TJ you know.
- 8:38I yeah I was you know, but we didn't touch on the
- 8:41transportation yet, but we're going to talk more about that.
- 8:45You know how we got there but as far as being at the track for
- 8:48sure, you know, I was staying at hotels at first and then it was
- 8:51just like okay I you know, at some point I got myself a well I
- 8:54got myself, an enclosed trailer and then I started, you know,
- 8:58staying at the track and sleeping in a 5x8 enclosed
- 9:01trailer. And, you know, banging my head
- 9:03off the in the ceiling because I couldn't stand up straight many
- 9:07times many, many times and, and, and stuff like that.
- 9:11But yeah. I like he says, it's like, it's
- 9:12the best way to be sat at the The track and waking up at the
- 9:17track and just you know, starting your morning off and
- 9:20getting your mind right? Because honestly you know, you
- 9:23wake up at say you waking up here that it was 6:30.
- 9:27Let me write you got to be ready by seven can't be ready by 7:00
- 9:30right? Because you got to you tie.
- 9:31Warm is on and if you're up, know if you turn your tire
- 9:34warmers on a little after 7 to get on a track around 8:15 8:00,
- 9:39give or take, you know what I mean?
- 9:43So it's better to Be at the track.
- 9:45And it's just, it's just one less thing to worry about and
- 9:48omurice nice to be in a hotel. And it's nice that, you know,
- 9:51some stuff. So, some folks that works you,
- 9:53if you know, if your finances in order that works but, you know,
- 9:57I even if my finances was an order, it's still better to be
- 10:01at the track. That's actually Tire something
- 10:06that's a lot, you know what I mean?
- 10:07So but so, for some people, they can because, you know, you know,
- 10:10you're in a tent and four doors down, there's somebody in like a
- 10:13Class, A you No, super. Super duper, you know, to
- 10:18congratulations and all type of things extra heat water.
- 10:21Exactly. You know, that mean taking your
- 10:23son difficult taking your son like so, you know it is all
- 10:29different types of folks that are that are out racing but at
- 10:31the end of the day you can just go camp out in your tent and
- 10:35your tent can be on the ground. Attend could be in the back of
- 10:37your car. The tank could be in the back of
- 10:38your pickup. The tent can be off the ground,
- 10:40the tank could be a trailer, you know what I mean?
- 10:43And, you know, and from from A cargo trailer to all type of
- 10:47small are, you know, RVs to all type of ginormous things or just
- 10:52commuting back and forth to your house.
- 10:53If you live close or if you're, you know, at a hotel.
- 10:58Always check the weather though because I got some 10 stories,
- 11:04we upgraded being my friend upgraded to a larger tent and
- 11:09you know, we thought we was cool.
- 11:11Like, yeah, we got more space and that one day, we upgraded to
- 11:14the 10th. It was a tropical storm so they
- 11:17had to shut down the track for like an hour, right?
- 11:20And by the time I got back to the tent, it was underwater the
- 11:24snow. This I've heard I've heard a lot
- 11:26of stories tend to work but you know.
- 11:29Yeah, I've destroyed. I'm on my fourth canopy because
- 11:33of Mother Nature. So you are going to lose some
- 11:39equipment to due to weather. And you know the most sturdy
- 11:43equipment is the better. Is a sturdy equipment means cost
- 11:47more. So if you're going to buy a
- 11:49tent, you know, by a tent that you can replace the legs and the
- 11:53components versus tossing it away, unless you can get a
- 11:56warranty and then if you get a warranty on it on a tent then it
- 12:01may make sense for you because then you'll just got a new tent
- 12:04you have to worry about it. So you know little side note as
- 12:08far as some things because you're gonna you know nature is
- 12:12going to his dick apart. This place is big.
- 12:16And as you know, it's one thing when you're fighting other
- 12:18Riders is different thing when you're fighting mother nature
- 12:21and try to get a good night's sleep.
- 12:22Yes, you know, I've many tents try to attack my trailer, it can
- 12:27appease, I should say, from Jersey to n.c. bike to Loudon.
- 12:33Like I said, I'm on my fourth. You want to go to your here
- 12:37rookie phases. So I remember I, we also got a
- 12:42canopy, we put it up and The neighbors next door to us, there
- 12:47was like huh. You guys have any buckets which
- 12:51is like buckets and before what it was like I yeah that can't be
- 12:54is going to be God but it is a day.
- 12:56Alright, so he had a spare buckets for us and we put water
- 13:00in them then strap them down to the canopy.
- 13:03I was like why I know you had to do all this and we found out the
- 13:06hard way when I tighten went down.
- 13:07Yeah. Got likewise likewise and so you
- 13:11know, it's interesting now just going up and down the east coast
- 13:15and Evan, I'm using the, the, the spikes now to hold my
- 13:19canopies down versus even the buckets because that is the like
- 13:25the buckets of great. But that is the best way to hold
- 13:28to hold to hold your tent down. But there's, you know, I, I was
- 13:33in Jersey and I lost my lost the tent and I had Buckets and a
- 13:44generator. One side, holding one side of
- 13:47the tent down. I had a toolbox, hold another
- 13:49side of the tent down and everything, and I think it was a
- 13:56little too, but things that weight a lot and it knocked over
- 14:01both my bikes and my toolbox and, and, and, and broke two
- 14:06legs of the canopy, just the Wild, and I wasn't alone.
- 14:11I mean, I think like 25% of the folks that had tents up lost
- 14:15their tents that weekend in earlier this year, so you know
- 14:21it that those things do happen. So if you're if you're camping
- 14:24outside, you know sometimes you may have to take your tent down
- 14:28lower your tent because going to be bad weather, or just take
- 14:31your tent down altogether, which means you might be sleeping with
- 14:34your toolbox. So when you have smaller space
- 14:36and it's bad weather, things that you don't want to get.
- 14:38Rusty is going to come inside the bikes.
- 14:41Obviously can stay. Outside and get wet because
- 14:43that's what they're designed to, you know, for no, we're not to
- 14:47get wet but the design for all weather.
- 14:49So what getting them where there's no problem.
- 14:52So you know when you are thinking about it is, it's
- 14:56tough. You may have to sleep in your
- 14:57car because the weather's too bad outside.
- 14:59I had to do it. You know, I had to as well had
- 15:03to, as well. You know what I mean?
- 15:06You know, I, you know, going up and down the East Coast, I sleep
- 15:08in my car at rest in a trucker where stops?
- 15:10I don't even go in the back of the trailer.
- 15:12You know, if it's if it's just a quick rest as I just I just go
- 15:16to sleep when I didn't have a trailer.
- 15:19You just you sleep, where you can sleep, right?
- 15:21Yeah. But it doesn't take away from
- 15:25the fun with being at the track. No.
- 15:27Do you know? It does not.
- 15:28You know I will we're not saying this to say don't go to track
- 15:32where we just saying we're telling you to things to look
- 15:35out for when the when the weather is wonderful and and the
- 15:39bike is wonderful and everything is wonderful.
- 15:42It's a wonderful time but you you know for for me for a while
- 15:48I did not race. In the rain, I didn't have rain
- 15:51ties for a very long time. If it was, if it was a spot of
- 15:54rain, I'm in my trailer, you know what I mean?
- 15:57It was only till, you know, I guess twenty twenty twenty one
- 16:04was the first time. You know that I and and it was
- 16:09like, you know, it was Roblin. It was, you know, 40-something,
- 16:12degree weather and and cold. And and and, you know, when it
- 16:17was all said and done, you know, I had fun.
- 16:22I was cold, I was freezing, it was a miserable.
- 16:24What part of racing is is fighting the elements.
- 16:28You're fighting the day it you I shouldn't say fight yo-yo,
- 16:31finding the best way to get to get through a bad situation and
- 16:36you could be freezing you could have bike problems.
- 16:40Your you could just be sick. I don't feel well, you know what
- 16:44I mean, all type of things happen and they're a lot of
- 16:47challenges to to go Racin. So many challenges, I have never
- 16:52ridden in the rain on the track. Uh, actually, I have, but I
- 16:56didn't realize it, but I never ridden when it was like, raining
- 17:00hard and then it was like, go out there.
- 17:02Yeah, I was riding in a race when they threw out the rain
- 17:05flag. And yeah, yeah, yeah.
- 17:09It's, you know, It's not as bad as you think and I'll and and
- 17:14and you know, it's it right in the rain, makes you a better
- 17:17writer so it's good to get out there and ride.
- 17:21Obviously we train ties but you know, you can you can, you know,
- 17:25you can have a drizzle with slicks and you find if you got
- 17:28eaten at eyes, you'll find so it's not you, you know, you
- 17:32don't, you know, it's not, it's not as bad as you think, is
- 17:35actually kind of fun and I enjoy and and and I do I do.
- 17:39Well, I do well at do in the So the rain all day on the street?
- 17:46Yeah so I kind of really so many times on the street but when it
- 17:49comes to the track of like, oh I don't know.
- 17:52Ya know. So you know so camping and and
- 17:55being that the track is it is fun.
- 17:57And but you know, even when the bats, like I said, even the bad
- 18:01situations happen, you know, you're still having a good time
- 18:03because you're out there racing and you know, we you know, we
- 18:07didn't talk about the transportation part of me that's
- 18:09the camp in part and and you know and And you know,
- 18:12everyone's going to different and everyone, you know, you
- 18:15know, if you've never gone camping at all, in any shape or
- 18:17form anywhere. Well, obviously, he's going to
- 18:19be new to you and you just got to take it easy.
- 18:22You may, you may, you may, you know, stay at a hotel, the first
- 18:25round. And the next round, you know,
- 18:27stay at a hotel and the next round, stay at the hotel and be
- 18:30like, okay, let me try camping and everybody's going to be
- 18:35different, it's going to depend on their wallet and, you know,
- 18:38you know, and if they can if it's going to be a tent or is it
- 18:40going to be a trailer? It's going to be a V you know,
- 18:42everybody's going to be a little bit different there and and then
- 18:46we still going to have to learn how to live within that space,
- 18:49right? Yeah.
- 18:53So you know, the transportation part, you know, you have to
- 18:58bring a whole lot of stuff. Whole lot of stuff.
- 19:03Do you part? Yeah, it's a figure out how you
- 19:04can get there, right? I mean I'll it goes again, goes
- 19:07back to finance and, you know, because like how you want to get
- 19:11there, you know, is going to be U-Haul trailer, right?
- 19:14Open. Trailer you going to use your
- 19:16card or toll, you know what do you need right?
- 19:20You know, for sure. To just to be at the track,
- 19:23right? You know, so when I got into it,
- 19:25I just had a car, you know, I didn't know that I was going to
- 19:28be riding on the track. So when I purchased the race
- 19:32bike and my head, I'm like, okay, how am I gonna get this to
- 19:36the track, right? I guess I'll figure that out.
- 19:39So you know I asked around and and couple ways is some people
- 19:43can pick up your bike, but you do need a trailer or pickup
- 19:47truck. There are some cars that you can
- 19:49put a hitch on my toe. And let small just one bike is
- 19:55Advanced. You can put them in and strap
- 19:58him down. But is this so anyways, and
- 20:02speaking of strapping down, there's so many different ways,
- 20:05you know, if you're, you know, the best ways, maybe like a
- 20:08pitbull restrain and you know, you drill in your putting your
- 20:12bolt in the system to the body of the vehicle, whether it's a
- 20:15trailer or truck or whatever, you know, you know is the
- 20:20easiest way. It takes less takes all the
- 20:23weight off, the of the suspension and I shouldn't say
- 20:26wait, doesn't put any resistance on the suspension?
- 20:28You're not compressing the suspension with the straps, but
- 20:31you can use straps, you know, they got the cones that you put
- 20:35over the handlebars and then you can just, you know, use some tie
- 20:38downs for that which I find, you know, makes life the easiest and
- 20:42the fastest, but you can just put straps to different parts of
- 20:45the bike and strap them down. Right.
- 20:47Yeah. When I transport by myself, I
- 20:49got a pickup truck. I just put the cones.
- 20:51Okay, and answers, I guess they call them and then use some
- 20:55traps for the front and in a ramp and you need a ramp sure.
- 21:01You know you? Yeah.
- 21:02You guessed your gas tank. Your tire warmers cooler, cooler
- 21:08lunch. You need, you know, a little
- 21:10snacks to keep yourself field. Right?
- 21:13It's very very important didn't realize how much you right sweat
- 21:17and just one session. I know, I do much energy, right?
- 21:20You got to keep the same. She threw out.
- 21:22So and how do you, how do you? So when you go buy your snacks
- 21:28and your weekend, you know, like what are some of the things that
- 21:31you get, get some energy bars, you know, some Gatorade Let's
- 21:38see, anything I can get my hands on that has like energy.
- 21:42You know peanut butter and jelly sandwiches, right?
- 21:44Right. Bananas for bananas and some
- 21:48lots of water, lots of water, can't get enough of that
- 21:51actually and yeah, that would be like the main thing is just too
- 21:55much on throughout the session and during lunch and have some
- 22:00very light. And then after that, you just go
- 22:03in, right? Go out to dinner or something or
- 22:07some people use it. Alan, if you have enough space,
- 22:10you can bring your grill. You I think if you if if you do
- 22:15it long term you're gonna buy a girl.
- 22:18Yeah. You know if you're if you're
- 22:20hooked on it and we want to talk we can talk about a little bit
- 22:22about that, you know, after your first time at a track but you
- 22:27know, with the transportation and and camping there's so many
- 22:32different levels and, you know, with all that, even your first
- 22:36time because I said for the first time you really just Going
- 22:38to make sure you have a bike, make sure you have to gear and
- 22:42make sure you have the basics and just to kind of see what
- 22:44it's like. And then you kind of decide and
- 22:47if you want to go back and even the second or third time, you're
- 22:50still kind of just, you know, just don't little bit of money
- 22:53at it. But once you realize, you want
- 22:55to be there, that's when investment starts.
- 22:58And now you start to build a essentially, you know, a comfort
- 23:02level of going racing. Yeah.
- 23:05It's so you want to be prepared as much as possible.
- 23:08Everything you need so we can still go over like exactly what
- 23:12you need. But I remember my first time
- 23:14again, I thought I had everything I needed and when I
- 23:18jumped on the rented bike I showed up, thank you.
- 23:23I met we supposed to be there at 7:00, right?
- 23:24So I was with all my friends and we went to the hotel somehow.
- 23:29We got there a little bit late so we got there like 7:30, hmm,
- 23:33I was supposed to check in, get on the rent, a bike.
- 23:38That I had three penguin when I got there all the sessions start
- 23:41at 8 and then like you didn't go through Tech yet, you know?
- 23:44So it's they don't wait for anybody.
- 23:47You have to make sure you ready, right, right.
- 23:49So it won't be prepared because now that I'm rushing not know
- 23:53what I'm doing. I'm not focused right exactly
- 23:56and when you get out on a track you experience is it's not fun.
- 24:00Yeah. You know what I mean?
- 24:01And and you know and you know will point Well Point.
- 24:07Will point back to technology, right?
- 24:11Well, you know what will point back to the rule books and and
- 24:14and yet and and and look in that that the the track and and also
- 24:18the school because it'll give you the schedule of, you know,
- 24:23what times and and what times you need to be a thing.
- 24:25So these doesn't happen because it's happened to all of us, I
- 24:28mean, like I've gotten in yeah, I'm Russian.
- 24:30I'm missing my first practice session because you know, I
- 24:33figured, I can get there in the morning instead of getting it a
- 24:36night before. To be prepared, right?
- 24:39And I'm rushing now and then I when I get on it now I missed a
- 24:41session. And my next session is I got it,
- 24:44I got we got we got to figure out everything, right?
- 24:47So you want to make sure you have everything.
- 24:49So I said we got you need your tire warmers.
- 24:52If you are using slicks, you need a place to put all your
- 24:59suit so you put everything together, I put a suit bag.
- 25:02So I have my suit with the boots helmet gloves.
- 25:07A protector or what Brent, what brand is there, but your bag
- 25:13Gio's only thing. Yeah, it was a hand-me-down to
- 25:17that's what's up. You know, thank you for your
- 25:18call. You know, how to pay for it, but
- 25:22right, it was, it was great investment to just put
- 25:26everything in one bag. It's like a suitcase, just throw
- 25:29that right into, you know, the truck and so I know everything
- 25:35is together. I know I don't need Need
- 25:37anything or anything is missing. It's all should be in that bag.
- 25:42So, yeah, you need a tire on place to check your tires tire
- 25:47air pump. But I just think you need tools
- 25:53and always need tools. Sure.
- 25:55So to box brings to everything that you would use to work on
- 25:59your bike. You definitely want to bring
- 26:03extra parts. Yeah, if you have to change your
- 26:06oil, you want to make sure everything is in good working
- 26:10order. Yes, changes.
- 26:11Hires, you know, check wheel bearings on but especially if
- 26:14you buy if you if you buy a used bike and you taking it to the
- 26:17track, you know and it If you got a good feeling from the
- 26:21person, you bought the bike and they told you all these things
- 26:23were just done. But like, you know, will be
- 26:25errands and and these wear and tear parts, like, you know, get
- 26:28those things squared away because you don't want to pay
- 26:31for a track weekend. And I and this has happened to
- 26:33me, I've gone, you know, you know, I've gone to tracks and
- 26:38this year and I've been yelled at my my good buddy Jim because
- 26:42it's like, you know, you just like you're spending all this
- 26:44money to come and go to the track and you can't ride the
- 26:47bike because you didn't do maintenance on your bike.
- 26:50Just like it doesn't make any sense.
- 26:51So definitely, you know, make sure, you know your oil changes
- 26:56are done, you know, will be R into done things that can you
- 26:59know I'll change may not kill you, but definitely will Barons
- 27:02will mess up your weekend? You know what I mean?
- 27:05Or brake fluid. Yeah he did everything that you
- 27:08could think of a battery. So yeah they do get to the track
- 27:12and they'll be something had to change and you're like, damn, I
- 27:14don't have that part but you know, they can ask around
- 27:17somebody to be a helping hand, right?
- 27:18You want to bring as much as possible.
- 27:20Well, what else do I usually bring you got to bring, you
- 27:23know, a place to sit, you need a couple, lawn chairs tables,
- 27:27foldable tables, a table, put your things on, you know, you
- 27:32might not have like I said that loud and a place to put all your
- 27:35belongings to. You just need your own setup
- 27:37like the canopy. Yep.
- 27:39And table into the canopied, probably belongings, right?
- 27:42And iterate. If you can afford one of those.
- 27:44Correct. And if you know, if you're on
- 27:46dirt, if you can't get on dirt, you going to need some You some
- 27:50plywood. Pressure-treated Pro plywood for
- 27:54the bike. So the bikes, the bike bike or
- 27:56bikes can sit on because you don't want them rolling on the
- 28:00dirt. It you know it's just just one
- 28:03more thing. You got to worry about getting
- 28:04dirt off the tires. Before you go out on the track,
- 28:07I recommend also I think is required to you need a front and
- 28:10a rear Stan Fischer on. Yeah.
- 28:12And I wanna see the front wrist in Noti warmers which if you're
- 28:17running street tires you just you can just use And so I think,
- 28:22even if you do just have a kickstand, I think it's very
- 28:25important to when you get off the track to rub, all that
- 28:28debris off your tire, for sure with your Superior Traction.
- 28:32So I think a friend of rays but it has to come off.
- 28:34So you the to do it or you don't want you going to take it off
- 28:38and you're going back out. I think your firm wrist is
- 28:41required, but if you have a kickstand, that's also good.
- 28:44Great, because you don't attract at that point, if you're doing,
- 28:46if you do, if you're racing, your putting tie warmers on your
- 28:49tie. Yeah, unless you're like a new
- 28:51Rider and you still feeling it out, you know what I mean?
- 28:54This is like your third time out.
- 28:56You don't need to send necessarily.
- 28:58You don't need race ties. Like your third time, going
- 29:00racing, unless you just naturally fast, right?
- 29:04But you will have it as you get quicker, you will eventually
- 29:07have to lose the kickstand and lose the street tires and and
- 29:12and, and start to play with the the fast folks.
- 29:15You will improve his would love it.
- 29:18Yeah, so you also need a Gas can.
- 29:21Yeah, we yeah. And you know I have just a
- 29:24regular stop gas station little red little container.
- 29:31Like I had like that one half or two gallon size everyone at the
- 29:36track got the wasn't the big one with the nozzle looking like
- 29:40real, Racers stuff, whatever. You can afford in.
- 29:42Just make sure you have a gas can because you will need some
- 29:45gas for the pike, right? So all the gas, you put in the
- 29:48car or the truck to get You guys got to think of the bike.
- 29:51You have a bike drinks a lot on the trip.
- 29:53Yes, it does. Especially if you're twisting
- 29:54the throttle you don't want to go all this way to go to track
- 29:58and ran out of gas and some tracks.
- 30:02I believe have stations at the track.
- 30:04I know about it does. But all right, and so is there
- 30:06anything else? You can think of, as we wrap up
- 30:09this segment of be forever. Cool, myself are x45.
- 30:14And TJ from two wheels and coffee that's probably just make
- 30:19sure you Already prepared. You know, we want you to get out
- 30:22there. Hmm.
- 30:23But you want you to get out there with everything you need?
- 30:26So you can be more relaxed and have fun no doubt.
- 30:30So until next time my name is Rex, 45 name is t.j. peace.
- 30:20Already prepared. You know, we want you to get out
- 30:22there. Hmm.
