  Like always, I'm going to cover the Marvel Universe's mutants,

  more specifically the underrated mutants of the Marvel world.

  So who are we talking about today?

  Well, a very, very interesting character to say the least.
• 0:32
  Today we are talking about Forget Me Not, the first
• 0:35
  appearance of the character. Forget Me Not was an X-Men
• 0:37
  Legacy first series #300 published in 2012 and was
• 0:41
  created by Mike Carey, Simon Spurrier, and Christos Engage.

  Forget Me Not has technically been an X-Men for over six
• 0:50
  years, probably joining before and they even happened.
• 0:53
  But because of the nature of his powers, people forget the second
• 0:57
  they're not looking at him. None of his teammates really
• 1:01
  ever noticed he was around, and he didn't show up on any
• 1:05
  official roster. The only reason Professor X
• 1:08
  remembered he existed at all was because he put a psychic
• 1:12
  reminder in his own mind that went off once an hour to keep
• 1:15
  Forget Me not on his radar while working with the X-Men.

  He fought against the Brood, moved to Utopia with the rest of
• 1:22
  the team, and was a soldier during the age of X.
• 1:24
  He actually saved X-Men countless times.
• 1:27
  Like walking like a walking problem, but a legend showing up
• 1:33
  at just the right moment to help with the enemies like the Brood
• 1:36
  or the Super Sentinels. After the X-Men split into two
• 1:40
  factions. Forget Me Not moved to
• 1:42
  Westchester with Wolverine side of the team after Professor X
• 1:46
  died. Forget Me Not was one of the
• 1:49
  people who mourned him, but since no one remembered him and
• 1:52
  he lost that constant connection to others, he spiraled into a
• 1:56
  very deep depression. At one point he even tried to
• 1:59
  get rid of his powers altogether, seeking out Omega
• 2:01
  and Mimic. He asked Omega to drain him as a
• 2:05
  visibilities, but then changed his mind when he realized that
• 2:07
  he could still make a difference in the world even if no one
• 2:10
  noticed. I would.
• 2:12
  I would drain the powers. I would get rid of him very,
• 2:15
  very quickly. He went back to living at the
• 2:19
  Gene Gray School for higher learning and occasionally
• 2:21
  patrolled the grounds. But it's like, why wouldn't he
• 2:24
  just ask Gene to set a reminder to remind her who he was?
• 2:30
  That's fine. One day he ran into a disfigured
• 2:33
  girl who either wanted to join the outcast of the X-Men or she
• 2:36
  would die trying. Forget Me Not helped her sneak
• 2:39
  past the mansion's defenses by stepping into the trap himself,
• 2:43
  and as they hung out, he told her all about his life.
• 2:47
  Eventually she left, but he ended up stuck in the trap,
• 2:50
  joking that even the school's defenses would forget he was
• 2:53
  there. Turns out he was right.
• 2:56
  They eventually let him go, but not before he ended up with a
• 2:59
  scarred, bald, balding back of the head.

  Probably thanks to the system itself.
• 3:06
  Later, Doctor Nemesis started picking up on weird clues like
• 3:10
  Psylocke forgetting things. Security footage showing strange
• 3:14
  anomalies at the X Mansion, for example.
• 3:18
  With help from Hope Summers, who was pretending to be Mimi,
• 3:22
  Nemesis pieced together that someone was operating behind the
• 3:26
  scenes and used patterns like supply usage and toilet paper to
• 3:30
  track Forget Me Not. They teleported him to the
• 3:33
  inactive SHIELD Helicarrier particles, which the X Force was
• 3:37
  using as a base, and tried to subdue him.
• 3:40
  Nemesis recorded an explanation for the team and left a note
• 3:43
  telling them to rewatch the recording every time they took a
• 3:46
  coffee break, because otherwise they'd forget who they were
• 3:49
  chasing. Over the course of what felt
• 3:52
  like decade of loops, X Force kept hunting Forget Me Not
• 3:57
  through the Helicarrier, completely unaware that Phantom
• 3:59
  X could actually remember him the entire time.
• 4:03
  While all this was going on, Forget Me Not saw a bunch of
• 4:06
  stuff, some awkward, some disturbing, including a
• 4:09
  borderline erotic moment between Phantom X and Mimi, Marrow's
• 4:13
  descent into madness and Cable, and Psylocke's romantic
• 4:17
  escapades. He even befriended the ship's
• 4:20
  maintenance bots, who were the only ones that could
• 4:22
  consistently remember who he was.
• 4:25
  Eventually, he got through to Nemesis, thanks to Nemesis being
• 4:29
  hyped up on Hyper Coffee, and agreed to help the team with
• 4:33
  their latest plan. The idea was to suppress his
• 4:36
  powers long enough to make himself visible so no one of the
• 4:40
  mysterious Yellow Eye drones would lock into him.
• 4:43
  Then he'd reactivate his powers so they could track the drone
• 4:48
  back to its base. Unfortunately, the drone could
• 4:52
  still see him, and Phantom X ended up shooting him to scare
• 4:55
  the drone off. Everyone forgot about him again,
• 4:59
  assuming he was dead, and his body was quietly taken away by
• 5:02
  the maintenance bots. Meanwhile, as Cable and Marrow
• 5:06
  interrogated Volga, Hope Summers discovered that Mimi's last bit
• 5:10
  of consciousness had somehow taken control of the maintenance
• 5:13
  bots on the Helicarrier, and that Mimi had actually said
• 5:18
  Forget Me Not when Phantom X shot him.
• 5:21
  When the X force got back from mission involving the now evil
• 5:25
  Phantom X attacking spy agencies, Forget Me Not
• 5:30
  reintroduced himself to the team.
• 5:32
  Marrow immediately attacked him, but Cable stopped her.
• 5:35
  When Forget Me Not said that they're under Hopes orders he
• 5:40
  had. Marrow touched the Camitos of
• 5:42
  Hope, who then mimicked Marrow's healing powers and was able to
• 5:45
  move her body to a nearby computer.
• 5:47
  She showed the team that Cable had been manipulating Phantom X
• 5:51
  into attacking these groups all along.
• 5:54
  Already forgotten again Forget Me Not through Shylock at Hope
• 6:00
  so she could mimic Shylock's telepathy and send out her
• 6:03
  memories and emotions to the rest of X force as well as give
• 6:07
  away their position to Phantom X.
• 6:10
  As forget me not explain this was part of Hope's plan.
• 6:13
  Cable got furious, but Marrow knocked him out before things
• 6:16
  escalated. The rest of the team was about
• 6:20
  ready to give up, but Forget Me Not Still Completely Forgotten
• 6:24
  urged them to keep fighting Phantom X and weaken him as per
• 6:28
  Hopes strategy. Thanks to the distraction from
• 6:32
  Domino, Psylocke and Mero, Forget Me Not snuck up behind
• 6:36
  Phantom X, slapped A teleport tag on him and had Hope in
• 6:41
  classic comedic fashion, touch his butt to copy his powers.
• 6:47
  Then he had Nemesis teleport Phantom X out of there directly
• 6:50
  next to the Sun. As they watched from the lab.
• 6:53
  Both Nemesis and Forget Me Not saw him drifting toward Earth
• 6:56
  and Hope finally woke up as Hope and Nemesis, who she copy powers
• 7:01
  from, raced to find a cure for both Cable and Phantom X.
• 7:04
  Forget Me Not stuck with them the entire time, cheering them
• 7:08
  on. When they realized time was
• 7:10
  running out. He even suggested releasing an
• 7:13
  army of Cables clones on Phantom X, and Hope seemed on board with
• 7:17
  it. Eventually.

  Forget Me Not reappeared on Krakoa, the new mutant nation.

  He joined Nightcrawlers peacekeeping team called the
• 7:28
  Legionaries, working alongside Juggernaut, but as usual, only
• 7:33
  Nightcrawler and Cortez seemed to actually remember him.
• 7:36
  Forge was apparently working on a device to help with that.

  As part of the team, Forget Me Not helped interrogate Polly the
• 7:45
  Paul Dacosta at the Green Lagoon about the murder of his wife
• 7:49
  Lisa. When things got heated, he had
• 7:51
  Juggernaut burst in and haul Polly off into the station.
• 7:55
  He also tried to have a heart to heart with Lost, but she kept
• 7:59
  forgetting he was even there. In the end, Forget Me Not made
• 8:03
  the ultimate sacrifice when Warlock, a long time X-Men ally,
• 8:08
  was hijacked by Orcas, an anti mutant terrorist group.

  Forget Me Not gave his life to stop him and protect Kurkova
• 8:15
  from Nimrod. But he wasn't gone for long.
• 8:18
  Like many others who were killed by Orcas, he was resurrected by
• 8:22
  the five inside the white hot room following orders from
• 8:26
  Ascani and sent back to Earth to help Apocalypse take the fight
• 8:29
  to Orcas. So that is Forget Me, Not he.

  It's a rather tragic character, but I still find it funny.

  I think. I don't know, it's just kind of
