- 0:01Eight O seven thirteen ten wib A and ask the experts a man whose mind
- 0:07is always in the gutter and we can say that comfortably and confidently in a
- 0:12good way. Mister Andrew Larson from Larsenome Services the website larstom Services dot com
- 0:16tell number six So eight five three five forty three forty three. That's five
- 0:20three five forty three forty three. You are always thinking gutters, aren't you,
- 0:23Andrew? NonStop? Sleep it, live it, dream it, drive
- 0:28around. I'm constantly in the gutter man. Yes, yes, it's constantly
- 0:33in the gutter. You know. I feel like there we maybe we should
- 0:37do like a commercial based on that, on that premise, because it's it's
- 0:41to me, it's I think it's very funny, and it's it's very true.
- 0:44And this is something that that you are passionate about. And we talk
- 0:47about larst Home Services, we talk about gutter shutter, we talk about what
- 0:52an amazing role gutters play on the overall and I'll use the phrase, the
- 0:57overall health of your home. The gutters are not something to be taken lightly,
- 1:02and unfortunately, far too often, even on brand new homes, they're
- 1:07kind of like an afterthought. They're kind of like they're there, but they're
- 1:11not a priority. And that is so often a big mistake, isn't it
- 1:15It is? You know, when it comes to new home builds. I
- 1:19mean a lot of new homes are you know, they're they're built in neighborhoods
- 1:23where there's not a lot of trees, and you know, so having a
- 1:26covered gutter is maybe not the most important thing. But when I mean,
- 1:32I just built a new home and the gutters were never even discussed. It
- 1:36was like, you're going to get a roof and gutters don't know what kind,
- 1:40don't know how thick, don't know what the brackets are like, don't
- 1:42know how big the down spots are. Of course, when the topic finally
- 1:47did get brought up, I said, no, I'm doing that myself,
- 1:49and he's like, oh, yeah, that makes sense. But people people
- 1:56usually just curse gutters because they leak, they overflow, they're clogged, they
- 2:01build ice up on the roof. But the problem is is that they're extremely
- 2:07important. You know, where we live, we have basements, and a
- 2:10lot of people have just grown up here, lived here. Don't understand why,
- 2:15you know why we have a basement. You just have a basement because
- 2:17you got to put the house on top of it, and then you might
- 2:20as well finish it off. It's extra space. But we have a basement
- 2:23for for a real reason, to get below the frost line, right,
- 2:29so our water pipes don't freeze. I mean, we saw what happened a
- 2:32couple of years ago down in Texas. They had a deep freeze. Well,
- 2:36they don't have basements. Their homes are built on slabs. All of
- 2:39their plumbing runs through the attic well. Those homes weren't built to take freezing
- 2:44temperatures. People's water pipes froze in their attics, wrecked their homes. I
- 2:47mean, it was a big deal. So we have basements so we can
- 2:51house the things that can't freeze or below the frost line. But the problem
- 2:54is is with having a basement, we have a giant hole underneath our house.
- 3:00And without proper grade, with landscaping, without proper gutters, eventually you're
- 3:08going to get water in that basement. I mean, we put things called
- 3:12some pumps in our basement. That's how much water can be dropped around our
- 3:15home, so much so that it can actually saturate the ground and come underneath
- 3:21the foundation of our home. That's where those drain tubes are supposed to kick
- 3:24in. I mean, I have drain tubes running underneath my concrete that go
- 3:29into a pit in my basement that then will pump it out if necessary.
- 3:34You also have to have properly working gutters. So this all has to work
- 3:38together. So why do we need gutters? We need to get the water
- 3:40away from the house A so we don't float our basement. We get water
- 3:45in our basement, we can get mold. It recks, It wrecks things.
- 3:49Water is very destructive. I mean, there's only a couple things that
- 3:52can really wreck a house once fire, and the other thing that's even more
- 3:57destructive than fire is water. You think about that. Water actually puts out
- 4:00fire, but it will wreck and mold and eat your house away. So
- 4:04we got to get the water away from the foundation. Also having gutters that
- 4:09properly function it protects our landscaping. I mean there's a lot of people we
- 4:13pay a lot of money for landscaping for rocks. I mean, how many
- 4:15people every single spring are getting trailer loads full of mulch, dropping it off
- 4:20of the house, spending a whole weekend wheel borrowing mults around the house so
- 4:25it looks beautiful. If your gutter's overflow and they don't work properly, it's
- 4:28just going to fall onto that mulch, it's going to wash it all over
- 4:30the yard. There's so many benefits to gutters, Sean, I can't I
- 4:34don't know what it's got out of breath. I feel like there needs to
- 4:40be like almost sainthood for somebody when it comes to developing perfect gutters. We
- 4:45talked about gutters shutter and what it does, and you're right. I mean,
- 4:49you look at the Grand Canyon. What caused the Grand Canyon water that
- 4:54is cutting through thick, thick rock for generations. It's it is not roads,
- 5:00you're landscaping. Look at the Grand Cake exactly exactly, you know.
- 5:03And one of the things that I find amazing about as we talk Withdrew Larson
- 5:08from lars Stome Services about gutter shutter and the products that you guys put on
- 5:12at Larstome Services, you've shown me in the past like a cross section of
- 5:16what exactly is on the inside like the outside of gutter shutter. They're the
- 5:20beautiful, beautiful product, absolutely amazing how they perform. But what you don't
- 5:26see and this and it also holds true with the roofs too, is what
- 5:29you don't see often makes all the difference. And I've seen from you like
- 5:31a cross section of what's inside of the gutter is like these brackets that are
- 5:36like they're like real, like engineered, and they're they're all throughout there.
- 5:41And then we talk about like the down spouts and having kind of that larger
- 5:44mouth on the top. And I think, if I remember right, you're
- 5:46talking about how it just creates suction. It's like because of the whatever,
- 5:50the negative force you've got terms for all this stuff, I'll just call it
- 5:54that, like it's literally pulling the water. And I'm like, this is
- 6:00this is an absolutely amazing way to do things. And again going back to
- 6:04underappreciated if the best gutter, and I think you've talked about this in the
- 6:10past, is the one that you've never had to think about. It's the
- 6:13one you've never had to worry about. It's the one that you install a
- 6:15Lars and Home Services. That's the best gutter out there. It is.
- 6:18You know what's awesome is when we our sales reps, when they're out in
- 6:23neighborhoods, when they're helping people fix their homes, they always have a customer
- 6:26map with them on their computer, and we always tell them, hey,
- 6:30check your customer map. If you're in the neighborhood and we've got customers,
- 6:33stop by, stop by. Talk to the homeowners. See see how their
- 6:38gutter system or their roofs doing. See how everything's working, See if they
- 6:42have any issues, because we have a lifetime workmanship guarantee with our product.
- 6:46Look, we know gutters are super important, but gutters can also be a
- 6:48giant pain in the butt if you have treats. And we live in Wisconsin,
- 6:53so we get one hundred degrees in the summer, we get negative twenty
- 6:56in the winter, we get snow, we get ice, We have all
- 6:59of the different things that come with seasons. And gutters tend to catch the
- 7:03They catch the water, but they also catch the leaves, they catch the
- 7:06sticks, they catch the seeds, they catch the ice, they catch the
- 7:09snow. So the great thing about gutter shutter is that, first of all,
- 7:14it's big, it's strong. I mean, if you ever go on
- 7:15Facebook, and maybe it's just me, but my ads follow me around.
- 7:20I can't get away from an ad with me hanging from the gutter and dropping
- 7:25off. It's annoying, but at the same time, like I'm not a
- 7:28small person. I can hang from the gutter. I can do pull ups
- 7:30from the gutter. It is as strong as it gets because of our bracketing
- 7:33system. It's never gonna say pull off because of the weight of ice or
- 7:39snow, which really gives us a lot of peace of mind. It's never
- 7:42gonna clog, and if it does, we'll clean it for free. If
- 7:45it's leaking, if it's overflowing, if anything's wrong with it, we're gonna
- 7:47fix it or replace it. So that takes the whole pain in the butt
- 7:51part of gutters out of the equation. All you have to know is that
- 7:56we're gonna put them up. They're gonna look awesome, and if you want
- 8:00to know what they look like, you can go on our website, you
- 8:01can go on Facebook, you can see before and after photos. It looks
- 8:05fantastic and you're literally gonna forget that you have gutters because you never have to
- 8:09clean them. You never have to worry about the ice or snow. You
- 8:13don't have to do anything. So the fun part is we've got some new
- 8:16sales reps and their training, and they've been out talking to current customers and
- 8:20it's house after house after house. Homeowner loves their gutter shutter. Homeowner forgot
- 8:26they had gutters. Homeowner hasn't had the ladder out since they got gutter shutter.
- 8:30Like, that's the point. Are they expensive? Sure, they're not
- 8:33cheap, but you get what you pay for. And to have the peace
- 8:35of mind knowing the company's there to back them up and back them up forever.
- 8:41I mean, that makes me feel good, and it should make a
- 8:43homeowner feel good. So we keep the water out of the basement, keep
- 8:46it from going out, keep it from going underneath the foundation, keep it
- 8:50from beating up the siding, keep it from beating up the roof, keep
- 8:52your landscaping, your flowers looking good, and you never ever ever have to
- 8:58worry about getting up there and cleaning them out or readjusting them because the weight
- 9:01of ice or snow in the winter made them sag, so they're overflowing.
- 9:05If that happens, which I mean, if I can hang from it,
- 9:09the ice isn't going to hurt it. You just call us, Just pick
- 9:11up the phone and call us. That's all you got to do. It's
