- 0:00Speaker 1: Fly from Midtown Manhattan. Here comes the Mark Simone Show
- 0:05Speaker 1: on seven w R.
- 0:08Speaker 2: Hey, not bad today. It'll be a near forty. It's
- 0:11Speaker 2: going to be in the fifties this week. That's good news.
- 0:13Speaker 2: We got a lot to get to today. There's a
- 0:15Speaker 2: lot of things going on. We'll get to Maduro and
- 0:18Speaker 2: all the latest. We'll get to Mamdani and all the
- 0:21Speaker 2: bad news. We'll we'll get to Marty Supreme, remind me
- 0:25Speaker 2: to talk about that. We'll get the Frank Sinatra coming up.
- 0:27Speaker 2: We'll get to MS now they're looking more and more
- 0:33Speaker 2: pathetic now that NBC threw them the hell out. We'll
- 0:37Speaker 2: get to Wegmans. We'll get to Jimmy Kimmel. We got
- 0:40Speaker 2: lots to get to today. Hey, this just happened about
- 0:44Speaker 2: an hour ago. It looks like a congressman has died.
- 0:48Speaker 2: I forgot the name. It's not a name you'd even know.
- 0:50Speaker 2: He's a California congressman House of Representatives. But the problem
- 0:54Speaker 2: is he was one of the few Republicans in California.
- 0:57Speaker 2: So he's a Republican congressman. He's he's apparently it's been
- 1:01Speaker 2: confirmed he's dead. Now that means the Democratic governor will
- 1:07Speaker 2: appoint a Democrat to take that seat until they can
- 1:09Speaker 2: have an election. Now, the problem is Republicans in the
- 1:12Speaker 2: House of Representatives I think are right on the border.
- 1:15Speaker 2: I can't because other people have left. You know, there
- 1:20Speaker 2: are a couple of empty seats right now. I think Republicans
- 1:22Speaker 2: are down to two hundred and eighteen in the House.
- 1:25Speaker 2: Would put them right on the border, the absolute borderlines.
- 1:28Speaker 2: If they lose anything, they lose control of the House.
- 1:32Speaker 2: That's why this congressman dying this morning very crucial to
- 1:35Speaker 2: the Republicans. Would mean Mike Johnson wouldn't be Speaker anymore.
- 1:39Speaker 2: It would mean if Democrats take control, you'd have an
- 1:41Speaker 2: impeachment every month. You remember, in Trump's first term, they
- 1:45Speaker 2: would impeach him every year in the spring. Every spring impeachment.
- 1:50Speaker 2: This would be every month. Obviously they would start with
- 1:53Speaker 2: Maduro and Venezuela. That would be their first impeachment thing,
- 1:57Speaker 2: and then they would impeach him over Epstein. He would
- 2:00Speaker 2: impeach him over January six Oh, he can't do it.
- 2:03Speaker 2: They already did January sixth. That didn't go anywhere. But
- 2:06Speaker 2: they'll find something every month. Now. Maduro in court pleaded
- 2:10Speaker 2: not guilty. You know, they set the next court date.
- 2:13Speaker 2: He was in court yesterday. When's the next day comes
- 2:15Speaker 2: to court? March seventh, that's two months away. That means
- 2:20Speaker 2: he sits in jail for two months in that Brooklyn
- 2:24Speaker 2: Correctional Center. They don't seem to trust the Manhattan Correctional
- 2:27Speaker 2: Center anymore. That's where they put Jeffrey Epstein and he
- 2:30Speaker 2: got dead in there. I was going to say he
- 2:32Speaker 2: got murdered in there. Well, we'll see, and they ruled
- 2:35Speaker 2: it officially a suicide.
- 2:37Speaker 1: But.
- 2:39Speaker 2: Who knows. But they don't seem to trust it anymore.
- 2:42Speaker 2: So they now keep the prisoners in the Brooklyn Detention Center,
- 2:45Speaker 2: the US Attorney Southern District. That's where they kept p Diddy,
- 2:48Speaker 2: and that's where they kept Kallay Maxwell, and this is
- 2:52Speaker 2: where they're keeping Maduro. He's got lawyers that have been
- 2:55Speaker 2: appointed for him and he's going to plead, not get
- 3:00Speaker 2: but there's evidence, I mean physical evidence. There's a text
- 3:04Speaker 2: back and forth. They'll prove he was involved hands on
- 3:08Speaker 2: with the narco drug trafficking. The terror. Narco terrorism is
- 3:13Speaker 2: what it was. He'll be charged with that. He will
- 3:15Speaker 2: be convicted now. And if he's claiming that he is
- 3:20Speaker 2: still the leader of Venezuela. That's kind of well. Here's
- 3:25Speaker 2: the legal expert, Jonathan Turley.
- 3:26Speaker 3: His statement in court was remarkable, that he's still the
- 3:29Speaker 3: president of his country. You would think that the prison
- 3:32Speaker 3: jump suit would disabuse him of that concept. But I
- 3:37Speaker 3: certainly over fifty countries around the world would not accept that,
- 3:41Speaker 3: and I don't think the court will either.
- 3:43Speaker 2: You See, if you want to sound smart, like a
- 3:45Speaker 2: like a Jonathan Turley, you use words like that. You
- 3:47Speaker 2: don't say he claimed he was still the president, which
- 3:49Speaker 2: makes him sound nuts. You say the jumpsuit would disabuse
- 3:53Speaker 2: him of that. Throw that word in there and then
- 3:55Speaker 2: disabuse him. Here's more of a Turley. Now, remember to
- 4:00Speaker 2: hear all these democrats and all the fake news talking
- 4:04Speaker 2: heads tell you this was an illegal operation. This is
- 4:07Speaker 2: unheard of to go into a country seasonally. It's done
- 4:10Speaker 2: all the time. It's been done many times. We arrested Noriega.
- 4:14Speaker 2: You can talk lots of cases where this has happened,
- 4:17Speaker 2: and plenty of presidents have done things like this.
- 4:19Speaker 3: This is Norjega two point zero. I mean, he is
- 4:22Speaker 3: going to be arguing that he is still the head
- 4:24Speaker 3: of state and titled to immunity. I just had very
- 4:27Speaker 3: few people believe that's true. And he's in a worse
- 4:31Speaker 3: position than Noriega. So I expect that they're going to
- 4:34Speaker 3: stick the landing on this. They're gonna this is going
- 4:38Speaker 3: to go to trial, and he stands an excellent chance
- 4:41Speaker 3: of being convicted.
- 4:42Speaker 2: Yeah, it'll just repeat the whole Noriega thing. They hear
- 4:45Speaker 2: the Democrats. If you watch Rachel Maddow or any of
- 4:47Speaker 2: those shows, you know, Jake Tapper, you know, if you're
- 4:49Speaker 2: just watching, they look like very serious, very knowledgeable people,
- 4:53Speaker 2: but they're like crazy partisans. And though if you watch
- 4:57Speaker 2: these shows, they'll tell you things like, well, I've don't
- 4:59Speaker 2: Claire violation of international law, international law. What the hell
- 5:05Speaker 2: is in nobody's ever heard of this international law. There
- 5:07Speaker 2: is no international law that we have to follow. He's
- 5:10Speaker 2: more of Turly.
- 5:11Speaker 3: They have not only these these recordings that they say
- 5:14Speaker 3: show him taking an active role in the criminal enterprise,
- 5:18Speaker 3: but this wasn't just simply criminal enterprise.
- 5:20Speaker 1: This was a family enterprise.
- 5:22Speaker 3: And so you've got his son, his wife with facing
- 5:25Speaker 3: very strong evidence, but you also have high ranking former
- 5:30Speaker 3: associates who have pled guilty, and they very well could
- 5:34Speaker 3: be cooperating witnesses, including the former head of military intelligence
- 5:39Speaker 3: in his country.
- 5:41Speaker 2: Yeah, so he's gotten no shot at beating this charge. Now,
- 5:45Speaker 2: normally you get in the right judge. You know, you're
- 5:47Speaker 2: left wing kook of a judge in Manhattan. But looks
- 5:50Speaker 2: like they got a good judge. I think he's ninety
- 5:52Speaker 2: five years old, this judge, but still on the bench.
- 5:54Speaker 3: You have to go through these documents and one of
- 5:56Speaker 3: the defense counsel maybe two will be designated as clear council,
- 6:00Speaker 3: and they will sit in a metal room called a skiff,
- 6:03Speaker 3: and they will look through all of these documents and
- 6:06Speaker 3: they will file challenges. That's why this isn't going to
- 6:09Speaker 3: go anywhere for over a year as they work through
- 6:12Speaker 3: this stuff.
- 6:14Speaker 2: Now, that's why the next court date is March seventh,
- 6:16Speaker 2: and why they're waiting two months. There's a ton of evidence,
- 6:19Speaker 2: a ton of documents. They have to give his attorneys
- 6:22Speaker 2: plenty of time to go through all this stuff. And
- 6:24Speaker 2: as Turley says, it's probably going to be a year
- 6:27Speaker 2: long trial. This guy will spend the next year in
- 6:29Speaker 2: the Brooklyn Detention Center. Not good for him. Now, again,
- 6:33Speaker 2: if you're reading the New York Times, or you watch
- 6:35Speaker 2: that MSNBCMS NOW whatever the hell they call it c
- 6:39Speaker 2: and then you don't know what the hell's going on.
- 6:41Speaker 2: They give you a little it's like the jigsaw puzzle.
- 6:43Speaker 2: To give you two pieces. That's it, that's all you get.
- 6:47Speaker 2: Leave out all the other three hundred pieces, so you
- 6:50Speaker 2: never get the whole picture. They never point out to
- 6:52Speaker 2: you that every Democrat, every major Democrat, Biden, Schumer, Elizabeth
- 7:00Speaker 2: the War and anybody can name, have been screaming and
- 7:03Speaker 2: screaming for years to get rid of Maduro. That he's
- 7:06Speaker 2: a war criminal, he's a narco terrorist, he must be eliminated.
- 7:10Speaker 2: You have to get rid of him. They've all been
- 7:12Speaker 2: calling for getting rid of Maduro. When the Biden administration
- 7:16Speaker 2: was in power or the Obama administration all talked about
- 7:19Speaker 2: getting this guy, getting rid of him. Of course it's Democrats.
- 7:22Speaker 2: They just talk. They don't actually do anything. Hey, here's
- 7:25Speaker 2: Biden has been doing this for longer than anyway. This
- 7:27Speaker 2: is forty years ago. Listen to Biden. Way back then,
- 7:30Speaker 2: for the first time, we were fighting and losing the
- 7:33Speaker 2: war on our own soil.
- 7:34Speaker 3: Let's go after the drug lords where they live with.
- 7:39Speaker 2: An international strike force.
- 7:41Speaker 4: There must be no safe haven for these narco terrorists,
- 7:45Speaker 4: and they must know it.
- 7:48Speaker 2: Now here's an interesting question. Why would you become a
- 7:52Speaker 2: drug lord? Why would you get involved in drugs? You
- 7:54Speaker 2: ever watched that show Breaking Bad? Better call Saul gus Fring,
- 7:59Speaker 2: who's when the Salamancas. When you look at that, do
- 8:03Speaker 2: you say, ye, I'd like to be like I'd like
- 8:05Speaker 2: to live like them. They're living out in the middle
- 8:07Speaker 2: of the desert. Looks like the dirtiest business. Why would
- 8:09Speaker 2: you want to get involved in that? Well, money, if
- 8:12Speaker 2: you're in the middle of Mexico. How else are you
- 8:15Speaker 2: going to make hundreds of millions of dollars except in
- 8:17Speaker 2: the drug business. It's money that leads into him. But
- 8:21Speaker 2: now here's the thing about Maduro. He's running Venezuela. Venezuela
- 8:25Speaker 2: has twenty percent of the world's oil it has. It's
- 8:30Speaker 2: sitting right now on three hundred billion barrels of oil.
- 8:35Speaker 2: There's seventeen trillion dollars in oil in Venezuela. Why didn't
- 8:41Speaker 2: he just use that? He let the whole oil industry crumble,
- 8:45Speaker 2: dry up, the infrastructure to pump the oil all decay.
- 8:49Speaker 2: All he had to do was bring that back, fix
- 8:52Speaker 2: the infrastructure and start pumping oil. He could have been
- 8:54Speaker 2: the biggest oil baron in the world. You see those
- 8:57Speaker 2: Saudis with the palaces in the garage with five million
- 9:02Speaker 2: rolls royces that he could be bigger than these guys.
- 9:04Speaker 2: Why did he become a narco terrorist when he could
- 9:06Speaker 2: have been the biggest oil bearing around. Now we'll go
- 9:10Speaker 2: in there and fix the infrastructure, get the oil pumping
- 9:14Speaker 2: again again. Seventeen trillion trillion in oil is sitting there.
- 9:20Speaker 2: Venezuela could be one of the wealthiest, most successful countries
- 9:23Speaker 2: in the world. Now we got to get the American
- 9:26Speaker 2: oil companies to go in there. They're not going to
- 9:28Speaker 2: be too crazy about doing this because it looks like
- 9:30Speaker 2: it could be some kind of dangerous war zone. But
- 9:33Speaker 2: once they get it stabilized. Now you're also going to
- 9:37Speaker 2: watch all these democrats ye all about Trump campaigned about
- 9:41Speaker 2: the endless wars, no boots on the ground, none of it. Well,
- 9:44Speaker 2: there's no hit that he's ever going to do anything
- 9:46Speaker 2: like that. This was just a quick three hour operation
- 9:49Speaker 2: in out seize the leader. And one reason this was
- 9:52Speaker 2: done is Grenada. You remember when Ronald Reagan took office
- 9:58Speaker 2: in his first year. It's the end of his first year.
- 10:02Speaker 2: He did the same exact sort of thing. We invaded
- 10:05Speaker 2: this little tiny island of Grenada. A bunch of American
- 10:09Speaker 2: medical students had been captured and were being held hostage.
- 10:13Speaker 2: Reagan did the same thing. It was a quick just
- 10:15Speaker 2: a few hours on the ground. American military went in
- 10:19Speaker 2: there and just attacked the building where they were being held,
- 10:25Speaker 2: extracted these medical students, got them out of there real fast.
- 10:28Speaker 2: It was an incredible military operation. The reason that Reagan
- 10:33Speaker 2: did that is he took over from a president who
- 10:36Speaker 2: was just horrible with the military. Jimmy Carter had turned
- 10:40Speaker 2: our military into a worldwide embarrassment. They were out of parts,
- 10:43Speaker 2: the weapons weren't working, everything was old, outdated number. Carter
- 10:47Speaker 2: even tried to rescue our hostages in Iran and the
- 10:51Speaker 2: helicopters couldn't even land right. They crashed. Everybody got killed.
- 10:54Speaker 2: It was a disaster. And the same thing with Biden.
- 10:57Speaker 2: He let the military decay, the equipment decay. He tried
- 11:01Speaker 2: to the Afghanistan withdrawal, and it was like a Jimmy
- 11:03Speaker 2: Carter operation, total disaster. People got killed, just humiliating, embarrassing.
- 11:09Speaker 2: So we had to get our reputation back and go
- 11:13Speaker 2: back to being impressive militarily to the world. So this
- 11:16Speaker 2: was Grenada, That's what this was for. It was a
- 11:20Speaker 2: demonstration for China, Russia, Iran, because China Russia didn't claim
- 11:26Speaker 2: to have an incredible military, but they don't. We've seen
- 11:30Speaker 2: Russia in Ukraine and all Russia's got us a little
- 11:33Speaker 2: ragtag army with drunken kids that can't fight. They don't
- 11:38Speaker 2: have the proper equipment, they don't even have night vision.
- 11:41Speaker 2: Where pretty sure that China is the same thing. It
- 11:45Speaker 2: looks like a big, big military, but they've never been
- 11:47Speaker 2: battle tested and they'll probably be as bad as Russia.
- 11:50Speaker 2: So it's a demonstration to the other countries that we
- 11:54Speaker 2: have incredible military capability. We're back. This operation in the
- 11:59Speaker 2: middle of the night to go into the palace there
- 12:02Speaker 2: and seize Maduro was incredibly detailed. Do you know. They
- 12:07Speaker 2: built an exact replica of his residence, which means they
- 12:11Speaker 2: knew exactly what his residents looked like in every detail.
- 12:15Speaker 2: They had people on the inside. So they built a replica,
- 12:18Speaker 2: a complete replica of his residence, and they trained in
- 12:20Speaker 2: that for months. They also went in there, I mean
- 12:24Speaker 2: the skill of these guys. You know, they used to
- 12:27Speaker 2: say Pete Hegsath is the most unqualified, the least qualified
- 12:31Speaker 2: a defense secretary. The guy has run flawlessly, run the
- 12:34Speaker 2: most incredible military operations for the last year, from the
- 12:38Speaker 2: taking out of Iran's nuclear reactors to the going after
- 12:41Speaker 2: the oil tankers. I mean this one. To run this,
- 12:44Speaker 2: you got to give this guy credit as one of
- 12:46Speaker 2: the most successful defense secretaries ever. But to get to
- 12:50Speaker 2: that residence, they had to take out all the military bases,
- 12:54Speaker 2: knock out all the electricity, They shut down all the
- 12:56Speaker 2: lights in the city. The stuff that went on was unbelievable,
- 13:01Speaker 2: the whole operation, from the moment they went in. Three
- 13:05Speaker 2: hours later they got Maduro on the deck of an
- 13:08Speaker 2: American warship out at sea and they're taking them away.
- 13:12Speaker 2: So it was an incredible operation. It's a big demonstration
- 13:15Speaker 2: too Russia, China and Iran. And don't think the message
- 13:20Speaker 2: was received loud and clear. So uh, Mom, Donnie, oh oh, Mom, Donnie.
- 13:27Speaker 2: Now he uh. There was a terrible rumor yesterday that
- 13:31Speaker 2: he had demoted the police Commissioner Jessica Tish everybody likes her,
- 13:34Speaker 2: that she would now report to the first deputy mayor,
- 13:37Speaker 2: not to him. He corrected that, he said, it's not true.
- 13:40Speaker 1: My police commissioner will continue to report directly to me.
- 13:44Speaker 1: My police commissioner, just like my school's chancellor will report
- 13:46Speaker 1: directly to me. The executive order is in terms of
- 13:51Speaker 1: the question of coordination, this is reporting continues to be directly.
- 13:54Speaker 2: To the mayor. Yeah, I don't know how that's good.
- 13:59Speaker 2: You're a reporting to this guy. This guy's got they've
- 14:01Speaker 2: never had a job in his life. He's twelve years old.
- 14:04Speaker 2: You're reporting that at least that first deputy mayor might
- 14:07Speaker 2: be another left wing cook. But he'd been a deputy
- 14:09Speaker 2: mayor before under Deblasio. But so, mom, Donnie, you know,
- 14:14Speaker 2: the other thing was just weird. He talks about affordability.
- 14:16Speaker 2: He wants to have free buses, he wants to live,
- 14:18Speaker 2: freeze the rent. Everything's bringing the prices down, affordability. Yet
- 14:22Speaker 2: when it comes to this congestion pricing, the guy loves it. Hochel, mom, Donnie,
- 14:27Speaker 2: yesterday celebrating the one year anniversary of congestion pricing. It's
- 14:31Speaker 2: a tax on people. Everybody has to pay it. Everybody
- 14:36Speaker 2: you're paying. Even though you're saying, well, I don't have
- 14:38Speaker 2: a car, You're still paying the congestion pricing because every
- 14:43Speaker 2: form of transportation from a cab to an uber has
- 14:45Speaker 2: a price increase as a result. And everything you buy
- 14:48Speaker 2: in every store in Midtown Manhattan there's a price increase
- 14:52Speaker 2: because the trucks pay enormous congestion pricing fees and that's
- 14:56Speaker 2: added into the price. But here he was celebrating.
- 14:59Speaker 1: Congestion price is a program that has been successful, no
- 15:03Speaker 1: matter how you measure it. We all understood the imperatives
- 15:06Speaker 1: of dreaming of a different kind of streetscape in this city.
- 15:10Speaker 2: The hell's he talking about? What is a streetscape? Were
- 15:16Speaker 2: you dreaming of a different street scape? You know? I
- 15:18Speaker 2: was kind of dreaming of the old one where it's
- 15:19Speaker 2: just cars. Now you can't cross the street without looking
- 15:22Speaker 2: six ways. You gotta wait, Is there a scooter? An
- 15:25Speaker 2: electric bike? Is there one of those pettycat You're gonna
- 15:28Speaker 2: get hit by anything and everything in every direction. Hokel
- 15:31Speaker 2: loves this congestion pricing, And yes, the cameras are staying on.
- 15:39Speaker 4: But now, my friends, the results are extraordinary.
- 15:47Speaker 2: They convinced themselves of this nonsense. Now she did say
- 15:50Speaker 2: there is a price increase coming, But it's twenty twenty eight.
- 15:54Speaker 2: Here's the good news. Bruce Blakeman will be the governor
- 15:57Speaker 2: and he'll take office in janu twenty twenty seven, and
- 16:01Speaker 2: I'm sure the first thing he'll work on is getting
- 16:04Speaker 2: rid of congestion pricing. It's absolutely ridiculous. You want to
- 16:07Speaker 2: ease congestion. Put the street back the way it was
- 16:10Speaker 2: with four lanes. Now it's like one lane, one lanes,
- 16:13Speaker 2: a parking lane, one's lanes, a bike lane, one lanes,
- 16:15Speaker 2: a petty cab lane, one lanes a scooter. Put the
- 16:18Speaker 2: street back the way it was. There's congestion because you
- 16:22Speaker 2: took two thirds of the street away on every street.
- 16:25Speaker 2: They we'll get to Tim Waltz. Why did he drop out?
- 16:28Speaker 2: His daughter is saying the family was getting attacked left
- 16:31Speaker 2: and right, and his political career is over. He announced
- 16:36Speaker 2: yesterday he's not running.
- 16:37Speaker 4: I'm passing on this race with zero sadness and zero regret.
- 16:41Speaker 4: I did not run for this job to have the job.
- 16:45Speaker 4: I ran for the job to do the job. The
- 16:48Speaker 4: hell is he talking about?
- 16:49Speaker 2: Now? You got to give him credit for a guy
- 16:51Speaker 2: with an IQ of ninety, maybe I name eighty. Maybe
- 16:58Speaker 2: eighty goofy, silly guy, not very intelligent. Look where he got.
- 17:03Speaker 2: You got to give him credit. Now, they've got to
- 17:06Speaker 2: be governor of a state. You got to be the
- 17:08Speaker 2: vice presidential nominee. You know, a guy with no brains
- 17:10Speaker 2: and no talent. You got to give him credit for that.
- 17:13Speaker 2: Now what happens, who's going to run for governor of Minnesota? Well,
- 17:17Speaker 2: our old buddy, Mike Lindell, my pillow is as announced
- 17:22Speaker 2: he's running for governor. He's one of the biggest, biggest
- 17:25Speaker 2: businessmen in Minnesota. So now here's the bad news. There
- 17:30Speaker 2: looks like they're going to try to throw somebody strong
- 17:32Speaker 2: against him, a big Democrat like Amy Klobucher, the Senator
- 17:37Speaker 2: is now talking about entering the race, so they'll put
- 17:39Speaker 2: up a big candidate. They actually think Lindell has a
- 17:43Speaker 2: great shot. Remember, Minnesota goes for those kind of non
- 17:46Speaker 2: political types like a Jesse Ventura. So this will get interesting. Hey,
- 17:50Speaker 2: we'll take some calls. Next eight hundred three to two
- 17:52Speaker 2: one zero seven ten is the number eight hundred three
- 17:56Speaker 2: to two one zero seven ten,
