- 0:00Speaker 1: I was waiting for last night. It all worked out well.
- 0:02Speaker 1: 106.7 Light FM, Cubby, Christine, and Kristen. I had another
- 0:05Speaker 1: night of taking care of the kids.
- 0:06Speaker 2: I know. So you were on your own.
- 0:08Speaker 1: It's getting better, Christine, every single week.
- 0:11Speaker 2: You seem less stressed.
- 0:12Speaker 1: Yes. Remember?
- 0:13Speaker 2: Like this is going well. Yes.
- 0:14Speaker 1: Like two years ago, the first time I had to
- 0:16Speaker 1: do it, I was so nervous.
- 0:17Speaker 2: You were so nervous.
- 0:17Speaker 1: And the kids would treat me like a substitute teacher. Yeah.
- 0:20Speaker 1: And just walk all over me when mom's gone.
- 0:22Speaker 2: Make immense mean out of me.
- 0:23Speaker 1: Yes. Kristen, you can relate, right? You've seen it happen, right?
- 0:26Speaker 2: Okay.
- 0:26Speaker 1: Okay. So, yeah, when mommy leaves, because mommy's, you know,
- 0:29Speaker 1: mommy's the bad cop. I'll say that. She's not mean,
- 0:32Speaker 1: but she's definitely... The disciplinarian. The disciplinarian. Thank you. Okay.
- 0:35Speaker 1: Where I'm like, yeah, do whatever you want. So, yeah,
- 0:39Speaker 1: sounds like Ryan, right? I mean, look, I'm not a pushover,
- 0:43Speaker 1: but I will let them get away with more. So, yeah, yeah, okay.
- 0:47Speaker 2: You're a softie.
- 0:48Speaker 1: But now I've put down enough authoritative action... Over the
- 0:52Speaker 1: last few months, they now know that, hey, when mommy's gone,
- 0:57Speaker 1: it's not just chaos. There is still a structure in
- 1:01Speaker 1: place and we have to behave. And they've been doing
- 1:03Speaker 1: very well. And mommy had a mommy night out with
- 1:06Speaker 1: her friends. I think they went to like a comedy club.
- 1:09Speaker 1: And then after that, she got up at 1030, whatever.
- 1:12Speaker 2: That was nice.
- 1:12Speaker 1: But I had them from 5 p.m. until I went
- 1:15Speaker 1: to bed and it went well. Naomi did get out
- 1:17Speaker 1: of bed once to ask for water. Uh, and I, actually,
- 1:22Speaker 1: I told you this, didn't I, over here?
- 1:23Speaker 2: Yes, I love this.
- 1:24Speaker 1: Okay, so she, we try not to give her water
- 1:26Speaker 1: at the, at the end of the night because, you know,
- 1:28Speaker 1: you don't want them to, to, to pee. Yeah. Uh,
- 1:31Speaker 1: and so we're trying to get her out of the
- 1:32Speaker 1: habit of drinking water late at night. Mm-hmm. So, uh,
- 1:35Speaker 1: I said no water and I felt guilty for saying that,
- 1:38Speaker 1: but she had her chance and she was in bed already.
- 1:41Speaker 1: So I put her to bed. I'm, I'm on the
- 1:44Speaker 1: phone sitting on my bed, Yankee games on. Mm-hmm. She
- 1:47Speaker 1: comes out. I said, what are you doing? She didn't
- 1:50Speaker 1: say anything to me. She walks past me, goes to
- 1:53Speaker 1: the bathroom, fills up a cup of water, does it
- 1:56Speaker 1: like a shot, like me drinking Jägermeister, shoots it down. Yeah.
- 2:01Speaker 1: And then it gives me like, huh. And then went
- 2:03Speaker 1: back to her room. I said, I'm going to tell mommy.
- 2:07Speaker 1: And she goes, no.
- 2:08Speaker 2: Oh no.
- 2:09Speaker 1: So she went to bed thinking, I'm going to tell
- 2:11Speaker 1: mommy like, She got water. She's in trouble, but she's not.
- 2:14Speaker 1: She's fine.
- 2:15Speaker 2: But she showed you.
- 2:16Speaker 1: Yes. Oh, my God. I couldn't believe it. Wow. Sassy. Yeah,
- 2:19Speaker 1: she was sassy. I'm going to get my water.
- 2:21Speaker 2: That's so cute.
- 2:22Speaker 1: Oh, my gosh. How are you feeling, though, Christine?
- 2:25Speaker 2: We're good. Do you need me to watch you one night? Yeah,
- 2:29Speaker 2: you can come over.
- 2:29Speaker 1: When Eric's out of town?
- 2:30Speaker 2: Definitely. You can come babysit. I'm alone a lot. You know,
- 2:35Speaker 2: I told you I'm out there talking to squirrels. It's
- 2:36Speaker 2: kind of a sad situation. Oh, yeah.
- 2:38Speaker 1: You have a new squirrel friend?
- 2:40Speaker 2: We have a new squirrel friend.
- 2:41Speaker 1: A guy that comes around a lot that you got
- 2:42Speaker 1: to know?
- 2:43Speaker 2: You know how I get to identify them after a while?
- 2:47Speaker 2: Certain features? I haven't figured out who this squirrel is yet,
- 2:51Speaker 2: but definitely hanging around our house and building a nest,
- 2:55Speaker 2: which is really adorable. But every time I step out,
- 2:57Speaker 2: the squirrel goes, like it makes this Like, keep away
- 3:00Speaker 2: from me.
- 3:00Speaker 1: Yeah, I'm working here.
- 3:01Speaker 2: I'm not going to mess with you, squirrel. It's okay. Yeah.
- 3:04Speaker 2: I'm animal friendly. It's okay. Do your thing.
- 3:07Speaker 1: What identifying marks on this one?
- 3:09Speaker 2: I don't know yet. I can't tell if it's a
- 3:10Speaker 2: boy or a girl yet.
- 3:11Speaker 1: There was one that you knew it was a boy.
- 3:13Speaker 2: We knew it was a boy.
- 3:14Speaker 1: By his big old tennis ball.
- 3:16Speaker 2: Yeah. He set some records there. It was crazy. Because
- 3:20Speaker 2: I would tell you about it and you're like, yeah, okay.
- 3:23Speaker 2: And then one time I sent you a picture of
- 3:24Speaker 2: him and you were.
- 3:25Speaker 3: Like, uh.
- 3:25Speaker 1: I thought it was AI. I was like, are you
- 3:27Speaker 1: kidding me? Look at that junk.
- 3:29Speaker 2: I remember when you said to me, only you, only
- 3:32Speaker 2: you would have a squirrel like that. And our friend Alyssa,
- 3:35Speaker 2: who would do my hair and makeup for events.
- 3:37Speaker 1: Yeah.
- 3:38Speaker 2: We were getting ready for like Radio City or something
- 3:40Speaker 2: one time. And that squirrel showed up and she was
- 3:42Speaker 2: doing my makeup. And then she looked out the window
- 3:45Speaker 2: and she went, oh my God, is that that squirrels?
- 3:48Speaker 1: You named him Big B.
- 3:49Speaker 2: Yep. And I said, yeah. And she was like, what
- 3:52Speaker 2: is going on? So we do miss him because that
- 3:55Speaker 2: was Archie, my cat's friend.
- 3:58Speaker 1: You should do a squirrel podcast and you should keep
- 4:01Speaker 1: doing your iHeartRadio Broadway. I thought of you. Today is
- 4:04Speaker 1: October 1st. Julie Andrews is 91 years old today. And
- 4:08Speaker 1: I searched our computer here at work. I just searched
- 4:10Speaker 1: the name Julie Andrews and I found this. Did you
- 4:12Speaker 1: know this? I didn't know we had this.
- 4:14Speaker 2: Hello.
- 4:14Speaker 3: Hello. I'm Julie Andrews, and you're listening to iHeartRadio Broadway.
- 4:21Speaker 1: The station you do a podcast on, iHeartRadio Broadway, from
- 4:25Speaker 1: the iHeartRadio app. I didn't know she did a special ID.
- 4:27Speaker 2: For you guys. I didn't know she did that either.
- 4:28Speaker 1: That's pretty cool. Happy birthday, 91. Oh, God bless.
- 4:32Speaker 2: Love her so much.
- 4:33Speaker 1: You have a podcast going up soon, right?
- 4:34Speaker 2: Yes, it should be published as of today, and it's
- 4:37Speaker 2: with Sam Tuddy and Adriani Pitts, who are— Christiani Pitts, I'm sorry—
- 4:43Speaker 2: who are the Tony-nominated stars of Two Strangers Carry a
- 4:46Speaker 2: Cake Across New York, which is such a wonderful show.
- 4:49Speaker 2: Very touching, very funny. Closing November 29th. It's at the
- 4:53Speaker 2: Longacre Theater. You definitely want to see it before it closes.
- 4:55Speaker 2: You will love this show.
- 4:57Speaker 1: Yeah, if you're a fan of podcasts, if you have
- 4:59Speaker 1: to break away from Light FM, just go to iHeartRadio Broadway,
- 5:03Speaker 1: and you'll check out Broadway.
- 5:05Speaker 2: Inside Broadway is our show. Yeah, thank you.
- 5:07Speaker 1: Because in addition to all your interviews, there's tons of music.
- 5:10Speaker 2: Oh, yeah.
- 5:11Speaker 1: The musicals and stuff.
- 5:12Speaker 2: Oh, yeah. It's all Broadway all the time.
- 5:14Speaker 1: On the iHeartRadio app.
- 5:15Speaker 3: More Covey and Christine. And the great music variety you expect.
- 5:19Speaker 2: Next on Light FM. I need to tell you two things.
- 5:24Speaker 1: Covey and Christine's. Two pretty cool things. Well, Christine, you
- 5:29Speaker 1: know our current Pope is from Chicago. That was big news. Yes.
- 5:32Speaker 1: When he started his, is it Pope-ness? When he started
- 5:35Speaker 1: his reign?
- 5:36Speaker 3: Yes.
- 5:37Speaker 1: Well, hours before the White Sox kicked off game one
- 5:40Speaker 1: of the wild card series yesterday against the Astros, No, actually,
- 5:44Speaker 1: I'm sorry, they won yesterday, but game one was a
- 5:45Speaker 1: couple of days ago. The team revealed that they had
- 5:47Speaker 1: received a personal letter from Pope Leo. He thanked the
- 5:51Speaker 1: team for paying tribute to him at a game back
- 5:53Speaker 1: in August and gave his blessing for the wild card series. Well,
- 5:57Speaker 1: his prayers worked because the White Sox swept the Astros
- 6:00Speaker 1: and won their first playoff series since 05 last night.
- 6:04Speaker 2: Whoa.
- 6:05Speaker 1: Can you believe it? So if you're wondering, if the
- 6:08Speaker 1: Yankees beat Tampa Bay in their next series and White
- 6:11Speaker 1: Sox beat Cleveland in their next series, Then the Yanks
- 6:14Speaker 1: will play the White Sox and the Pope in the
- 6:16Speaker 1: American League Championship Series.
- 6:18Speaker 2: Can we get a letter, too?
- 6:19Speaker 1: We need a letter.
- 6:20Speaker 2: I know he's from Chicago, and that's his team. Right, right, right.
- 6:24Speaker 1: Maybe we can get a notarize from somebody. I don't know.
- 6:27Speaker 1: We need help. That's pretty cool. All right, what's your
- 6:29Speaker 1: cool thing, Christine?
- 6:30Speaker 2: Well, for Pee Wee Herman fans, Paul Rubin's big auction
- 6:34Speaker 2: is underway. This is with Julian's Auction. They are auctioning
- 6:38Speaker 2: off 400 items, at least. I mean, I'm looking at
- 6:41Speaker 2: the site, and it's incredible. including Pee Wee's original suit,
- 6:45Speaker 2: like one of the gray suits that he wore in
- 6:46Speaker 2: the movie.
- 6:47Speaker 1: That's going to go for a lot.
- 6:48Speaker 2: They're saying it could fetch between $ 8, 000 and $ 10, 000. One
- 6:51Speaker 2: of the red bikes, a replica actually of a red bike, $ 7, 000.
- 6:54Speaker 1: Wow.
- 6:54Speaker 2: I think it's going to go for more than that, right?
- 6:57Speaker 1: No, it's got to go so much higher than that.
- 7:00Speaker 2: Exactly. A lot of stuff from the set, like the
- 7:03Speaker 2: things that you love that kind of just makes you
- 7:04Speaker 2: happy from the set are up for auction. And Paul
- 7:07Speaker 2: Rubens was a collector. He loved, you know, he had
- 7:11Speaker 2: stacks of books of plays and old Hollywood memorabilia. So
- 7:14Speaker 2: the things that were in his home also up for auction. So, again,
- 7:18Speaker 2: this is Julian's auction, October 28th. It's Paul Rubens. Pee
- 7:22Speaker 2: Wee Herman's Big Auction.
- 7:24Speaker 1: Alright, we're coming right back. More variety from the 80s
- 7:26Speaker 1: through today.
- 7:27Speaker 3: More Cubby and Christine and the great music variety you
- 7:30Speaker 3: expect next on Light FM.
- 7:32Speaker 1: Espresso in the morning. International Coffee Day too.
- 7:36Speaker 2: Yeah. Hi Cubby.
- 7:40Speaker 1: Hey Cubby and Christine.
- 7:40Speaker 2: Yeah, it's Light FM.
- 7:42Speaker 1: We're hanging out.
- 7:43Speaker 2: Talking with producer Kristen over here about collectibles. We're sharing
- 7:47Speaker 2: stories about how much we've spent on unusual collectible items.
- 7:52Speaker 1: Ever since you did the Pee Wee Herman story.
- 7:54Speaker 2: Yes.
- 7:54Speaker 1: About 10 minutes ago.
- 7:55Speaker 2: Kind of got us thinking.
- 7:56Speaker 1: It got me thinking about like things because you can
- 7:58Speaker 1: buy a piece of Pee Wee Herman's estate basically. Yeah.
- 8:01Speaker 1: They're auctioning off clothes and things in his.
- 8:03Speaker 2: House and the bike. Exactly. From the movies, from his home.
- 8:07Speaker 2: It's Julian's auctions. And there's, you know, if you go searching,
- 8:12Speaker 2: there's this really cool poll on Reddit. We go to
- 8:15Speaker 2: Reddit a lot where people are saying like, what's the
- 8:17Speaker 2: one thing you have that you think nobody else has?
- 8:20Speaker 2: People have some cool stuff. A letter from Winston Churchill
- 8:23Speaker 2: calling my great-grandfather a moron.
- 8:28Speaker 1: Wow.
- 8:29Speaker 2: I mean, that is something that's definitely special. A ticket
- 8:32Speaker 2: for the Titanic that my great-great-grandfather was supposed to be
- 8:35Speaker 2: on board but missed the voyage because he was sick
- 8:37Speaker 2: and had to stay back in Europe.
- 8:38Speaker 1: You know, those kind of stories always give me goosebumps.
- 8:41Speaker 1: You know, you hear about that with, unfortunately, some plane accidents.
- 8:45Speaker 1: people that miss a plane and something happened.
- 8:49Speaker 2: It saved their life.
- 8:49Speaker 1: Yeah, like those kind of things. I mean, the Titanic
- 8:52Speaker 1: going that far back is pretty amazing that somebody has
- 8:55Speaker 1: something like that.
- 8:55Speaker 2: There's a person who says, I have an original page
- 8:58Speaker 2: of the London Gazette, November 1666, that mentions the Black
- 9:03Speaker 2: Plague and the Great Fire.
- 9:05Speaker 1: Oh, wow. I mean, how come you're not selling that?
- 9:08Speaker 1: If someone has that, that's amazing.
- 9:11Speaker 2: I know, it's crazy. A series of correspondences between my
- 9:14Speaker 2: grandmother and author Harper Lee. They were good friends. I mean,
- 9:18Speaker 2: there's great, great stuff on here. And for you, Cubby?
- 9:22Speaker 1: I'm just trying to think as you're talking. Yeah. I mean,
- 9:24Speaker 1: I'm sure you probably have a lot of the same
- 9:27Speaker 1: things I have where it's musical or entertainment based.
- 9:30Speaker 2: Because we got to meet people.
- 9:31Speaker 1: Because we got to meet people. But I had Mick
- 9:34Speaker 1: Jagger sign our harmonica. I have a signed Mick Jagger
- 9:37Speaker 1: harmonica somewhere.
- 9:38Speaker 2: Dude.
- 9:38Speaker 1: I know it's in the house.
- 9:39Speaker 2: And you don't know where it is?
- 9:40Speaker 1: I know it's in the house. I just don't know
- 9:41Speaker 1: exactly where it is.
- 9:42Speaker 2: But you know you have it.
- 9:44Speaker 1: And I'm sure I have. My dad handed me down
- 9:46Speaker 1: a bunch of baseballs he had signed. So I have
- 9:49Speaker 1: like Barry Bonds baseball signature. But again, a lot of
- 9:54Speaker 1: people could have that, though. That's the thing. Some of
- 9:56Speaker 1: the things you're mentioning, like a ticket on the Titanic. Yes.
- 9:59Speaker 1: How many people have that? Right. But I have a
- 10:01Speaker 1: lot of things that are signed that I feel like
- 10:03Speaker 1: other people might have. So it's cool, but not that cool.
- 10:06Speaker 2: No, I still think it's cool. What about you? Oh,
- 10:11Speaker 2: I was just going to read off this one, though.
- 10:12Speaker 2: Someone in my wife's family has the second ever produced gramophone.
- 10:17Speaker 2: Her ancestor worked for Alexander Graham Bell. Serial number one's
- 10:21Speaker 2: in a museum. Serial number two is in the wife's family.
- 10:24Speaker 1: That's amazing right there.
- 10:26Speaker 2: I don't have stuff like that, but we did mention
- 10:27Speaker 2: Julian's auctions with the Paul Rubens, Pee Wee Herman's big auction.
- 10:32Speaker 2: So years ago there was, they do it from time
- 10:34Speaker 2: to time. They do Marilyn Monroe auctions, but I did
- 10:37Speaker 2: win something. Yeah.
- 10:39Speaker 1: From Marilyn Monroe?
- 10:40Speaker 2: Yes. And it was, it really special to me because,
- 10:44Speaker 2: you know, I love acting so much and theater and,
- 10:47Speaker 2: She was in her acting class, and she had a notebook,
- 10:50Speaker 2: and she was scribbling notes to her acting coach, Lee.
- 10:53Speaker 1: Strasberg, at the time. That is really neat.
- 10:54Speaker 2: At the actor's studio. And a lot of it was,
- 10:57Speaker 2: she was making faces, like, you know, like, not smiley faces,
- 11:00Speaker 2: but I think explaining how she was feeling emotionally. And
- 11:03Speaker 2: the faces were getting, like, sadder as she was making
- 11:06Speaker 2: the little scribble faces.
- 11:08Speaker 1: Now, when you got the notebook, did it come, like, sealed?
- 11:10Speaker 2: It's just, actually, the page from the notebook.
- 11:13Speaker 1: Page from the notebook. Right. Her writings.
- 11:16Speaker 2: Her writing, authenticated.
- 11:17Speaker 1: Can I ask or no? You don't have to. All right.
- 11:20Speaker 2: I couldn't do it now. I did it back then
- 11:22Speaker 2: before I put all my money into a house. Right.
- 11:25Speaker 1: Now, do you know where it is? See, I know
- 11:27Speaker 1: the harmonica from Mick Jagger is somewhere in our house.
- 11:29Speaker 2: Yes.
- 11:30Speaker 1: I just don't know where. It's in a box somewhere.
- 11:32Speaker 2: No, same as you because we moved a couple of
- 11:34Speaker 2: times and that's one thing I'm like, do not like
- 11:36Speaker 2: lose track of this. So I know where it is.
- 11:38Speaker 2: But the point has come where like I should frame
- 11:41Speaker 2: this along with like a picture of Marilyn and get
- 11:43Speaker 2: it up in the house.
- 11:45Speaker 1: Now, producer Kristen, technically she can't talk on the radio,
- 11:48Speaker 1: but maybe you could yell it. Your mic's not on.
- 11:51Speaker 1: What do you have that no one else has? I
- 11:53Speaker 1: have a Backstreet Boys sweat towel. A Backstreet Boys sweat towel.
- 11:55Speaker 2: Sweat towel.
- 11:56Speaker 1: That apparently she fought another girl for. Okay. Put her
- 12:00Speaker 1: in a headlock and drove her into the cement.
- 12:02Speaker 2: Wait, wait, wait. No, she did not say that.
- 12:05Speaker 1: No, she didn't say that part. But was it like thrown?
- 12:08Speaker 3: Yeah.
- 12:09Speaker 1: And so the way Tom Jones would, or people would
- 12:12Speaker 1: throw underwear at Tom Jones. No, I mean- No, the-
- 12:15Speaker 1: But Kevin threw.
- 12:17Speaker 2: The towel that he used.
- 12:18Speaker 1: Everyone reached for it.
- 12:19Speaker 2: Yes, of course.
- 12:20Speaker 1: Two people are holding on of it.
- 12:22Speaker 2: And Kristen won the little wrestle battle there. Oh, hair pulling. Oh,
- 12:27Speaker 2: my goodness.
- 12:28Speaker 1: It's the way you guys like it.
- 12:29Speaker 2: Okay, but she's got it.
- 12:33Speaker 1: Okay. Give us a text. Do you have something that
- 12:36Speaker 1: you think no one else has? It could be a
- 12:38Speaker 1: plane ticket. It could be a, I don't know, a
- 12:41Speaker 1: Titanic ticket.
- 12:42Speaker 2: Yeah, it's amazing.
- 12:43Speaker 1: It could be towels. It could be French toast from
- 12:45Speaker 1: Justin Timberlake. Yeah. Remember we did that?
- 12:47Speaker 2: Z100, yeah.
- 12:49Speaker 1: Hit us up at 44363. We'd love to hear from you.
- 12:52Speaker 3: Mort Covey and Christine. And the great music variety you expect.
- 12:55Speaker 3: Next on Light FM.
- 12:56Speaker 1: I'm still standing, which reminds me of a dad joke
- 12:59Speaker 1: I heard yesterday. Can I tell it real quick?
- 13:01Speaker 2: Of course.
- 13:01Speaker 1: Okay. All right. So my wife, I told my wife
- 13:04Speaker 1: that my back has been hurting. So she recommended that
- 13:06Speaker 1: I go to a chiropractor. And I said, I don't
- 13:08Speaker 1: want to go to a chiropractor. But I went to
- 13:10Speaker 1: a chiropractor. And it turns out I stand corrected.
- 13:13Speaker 2: Uh-huh.
- 13:17Speaker 1: She was right along. I stand corrected. The chiropractor fixed
- 13:21Speaker 1: my back.
- 13:22Speaker 2: You need your own little.
- 13:22Speaker 1: I really need a rim shot.
- 13:25Speaker 2: You need a rim shot really bad.
- 13:26Speaker 1: We have a little button here. We have several buttons, actually,
- 13:29Speaker 1: that I can choose from. And I only have these
- 13:31Speaker 1: sound effects. I got this one. I got the... The
- 13:34Speaker 1: bell we use for Trivia Battle. Yeah. I have the
- 13:37Speaker 1: winter music.
- 13:38Speaker 2: Yeah.
- 13:38Speaker 1: And I have another.
- 13:39Speaker 2: Oh.
- 13:40Speaker 1: And I have.
- 13:41Speaker 3: And I have.
- 13:45Speaker 1: I just have.
- 13:46Speaker 2: I think that might have been the one.
- 13:48Speaker 1: I should have done the American Idol thing. Yeah. Okay.
- 13:50Speaker 1: But I don't have a rim shot on there. I
- 13:52Speaker 1: have this. We can do our NFL picks later. Oh.
- 13:55Speaker 1: For our Survivor.
- 13:56Speaker 2: That music just makes me nervous.
- 13:58Speaker 1: It does, right?
- 13:59Speaker 2: Right.
- 13:59Speaker 1: It stresses you out a little bit. And I have this,
- 14:01Speaker 1: by the way. Time to. Wake me up. Wake up
- 14:03Speaker 1: Green Day now. Wake me up. September's over.
- 14:06Speaker 2: It's time to wake them up.
- 14:08Speaker 1: Anyway, sorry. We weren't planning on doing this, but what
- 14:11Speaker 1: were we going to do? I forgot.
- 14:12Speaker 2: Well, we were going to talk about how our dining
- 14:14Speaker 2: habits have changed because of the economy. Yeah, seriously.
- 14:18Speaker 3: They have.
- 14:20Speaker 1: Yes, it's tough.
- 14:21Speaker 2: I think it's very relatable. I know Eric and I,
- 14:24Speaker 2: it's made a big difference for us. It's like.
- 14:26Speaker 1: You used to eat out more, right? Yeah. And now
- 14:28Speaker 1: you kind of pulled back?
- 14:29Speaker 2: Yeah, definitely. And from delivery service... Big time. Like we
- 14:32Speaker 2: go pick it up.
- 14:33Speaker 1: Pick it up, yeah.
- 14:34Speaker 2: We have to. So yeah, Pop Menu did a survey, 67%
- 14:37Speaker 2: of Americans spending less on restaurants than we did just
- 14:41Speaker 2: a year ago. So a year ago, we were spending
- 14:43Speaker 2: an average of $ 100 a week on restaurants. And now
- 14:48Speaker 2: we are down. Oh, we were at $ 115 a year ago.
- 14:52Speaker 2: Now we're at $ 100 a week. A lot of us,
- 14:56Speaker 2: dinner is the meal that we're skipping the most. For some,
- 14:58Speaker 2: it's lunch and breakfast. Diners are also making changes to
- 15:02Speaker 2: the way they dine out to make it more affordable.
- 15:04Speaker 2: People are opting just for water instead of ordering a
- 15:07Speaker 2: beverage to save some money.
- 15:09Speaker 1: Well, I got to tell you, I mean, everybody, every
- 15:12Speaker 1: place is different, but here in the city, you go
- 15:14Speaker 1: to a bar just for a drink and that drink
- 15:16Speaker 1: could be $ 25, $ 30. I know. You can't even go
- 15:19Speaker 1: to like, a nice bar and have a drink before
- 15:21Speaker 1: your meal and then boom, you're in the hole already.
- 15:23Speaker 2: Yeah, you're all ready. Yep. We are ordering appetizers instead
- 15:27Speaker 2: of a full meal.
- 15:28Speaker 1: Oh, that's all you have?
- 15:30Speaker 2: Yes.
- 15:31Speaker 1: Okay.
- 15:31Speaker 2: And cutting back on alcohol is a big thing.
- 15:33Speaker 1: We've been doing that with our kids, by the way.
- 15:35Speaker 1: We'll get a kid, like say, like for example, we
- 15:37Speaker 1: went to Texas Roadhouse in Pennsylvania a couple of weeks
- 15:39Speaker 1: ago and the kids never eat all their food. So
- 15:42Speaker 1: we got a kid's meal and they shared it. Yep.
- 15:45Speaker 1: Because even the kid's meal was too big for one.
- 15:47Speaker 2: It makes sense.
- 15:48Speaker 1: And yeah, it, I think I had two sliders. So, Miles,
- 15:52Speaker 1: you have a slider. Naomi has a slider. Split the fries.
- 15:55Speaker 1: Save some money there.
- 15:56Speaker 2: And they're good.
- 15:57Speaker 1: Yep.
- 15:58Speaker 2: So cutting back on alcohol, which doesn't apply to your kids,
- 16:00Speaker 2: of course. But 40 percent of diners are saying they're
- 16:04Speaker 2: tipping less than they were a year ago.
- 16:07Speaker 1: I mean, we've talked about this a lot.
- 16:09Speaker 2: I know.
- 16:10Speaker 1: Tipping comes up everywhere now, even when you're picking up.
- 16:13Speaker 1: They flip that iPad around.
- 16:14Speaker 2: I know. That's the thing.
- 16:16Speaker 1: Tipping fatigue is real.
- 16:17Speaker 2: I feel like I don't tip less at a restaurant, right? Because.
- 16:20Speaker 1: I still do 20%. Yeah, at least. I never go
- 16:22Speaker 1: below unless it's really bad. At least.
- 16:24Speaker 2: I do at least 20%, usually more. But it's the
- 16:28Speaker 2: big dilemma is when they slide that iPad and they're
- 16:30Speaker 2: watching you.
- 16:31Speaker 1: And you walked in.
- 16:33Speaker 2: And I only got a coffee.
- 16:33Speaker 1: And you only got a coffee.
- 16:34Speaker 2: Can I please just not... But I feel like if
- 16:36Speaker 2: I hit no tip, there's a change in attitude right away. Like,
- 16:40Speaker 2: you know?
- 16:40Speaker 1: Right.
- 16:42Speaker 2: I don't know what to do.
- 16:43Speaker 1: Sometimes they'll flip it around and they get distracted by
- 16:46Speaker 1: their boss or whatever. They'll turn around and I'll be like,
- 16:49Speaker 1: no tip. Boom. I'm sorry.
- 16:53Speaker 2: I don't mean to be like that. There you go.
- 16:56Speaker 2: But yeah, can't tip the whole world. It gets hard.
- 16:59Speaker 1: Just a tip.
- 17:01Speaker 2: A lot of us are going for restaurants that are
- 17:03Speaker 2: more affordable, that have meal options, special deals. We're using
- 17:06Speaker 2: coupons without shame.
- 17:08Speaker 1: Three o'clock dinners, too. Blue plate specials.
- 17:11Speaker 2: Oh, blue plate specials. Love those. Some of us are
- 17:13Speaker 2: choosing restaurants with loyalty programs. This is just the changing habits.
- 17:18Speaker 1: How are you doing it, folks? If you can give
- 17:19Speaker 1: us a text. You know, we love texts. You can
- 17:21Speaker 1: call 1-800-222-1067. But you know what? No one likes to
- 17:25Speaker 1: pick up the phone and talk anymore. We're too busy.
- 17:27Speaker 1: Just text 44363. Are you going out still? Are you
- 17:30Speaker 1: dialing it back? How are you managing? Because it is...
- 17:33Speaker 1: Tough times right now.
- 17:34Speaker 2: It is.
- 17:35Speaker 1: All right, you have the headlines coming up, Christine.
- 17:36Speaker 2: Yeah, you said nobody picks up the phone cubby, but
- 17:38Speaker 2: apparently somebody does, and scientists are studying, depending on which ear.
- 17:43Speaker 2: You hold your phone up, too. It says a lot
- 17:44Speaker 2: about your personality.
- 17:45Speaker 1: Let's find out.
- 17:46Speaker 3: More Covey and Christine. And the great music variety you expect.
- 17:50Speaker 3: Next on Light FM.
- 17:51Speaker 1: You have all the headlines, everything we need to know.
- 17:53Speaker 1: 659 and what do you have?
- 17:55Speaker 2: Good morning, Covey.
- 17:56Speaker 1: Yes.
- 17:57Speaker 2: Well, we have good news about the Yankees, right? They
- 17:59Speaker 2: take the wild card series.
- 18:01Speaker 1: Off to the next round.
- 18:02Speaker 2: Off to the next round. They face the Tampa Bay Rays.
- 18:04Speaker 1: On Saturday, right?
- 18:05Speaker 2: On Saturday.
- 18:06Speaker 1: Okay.
- 18:06Speaker 2: So Yankees get some good rest for a couple of
- 18:08Speaker 2: days and get ready for that. Also in the news
- 18:12Speaker 2: this morning, Congress is on a break until after the midterms.
- 18:16Speaker 2: Senate wrapped up its work late yesterday while members of
- 18:19Speaker 2: the House left early. So now lawmakers from both sides
- 18:22Speaker 2: are in recess until after the November elections. It looks
- 18:25Speaker 2: like there's going to be a lot of campaigning happening
- 18:28Speaker 2: very soon. So get used to seeing that. If you're
- 18:31Speaker 2: looking to preorder Apple's first foldable iPhone, beware of scams.
- 18:37Speaker 2: Malware Bytes reports that there is this very realistic-looking pre-order
- 18:42Speaker 2: page for the iPhone Duo, and it resembles the Apple page.
- 18:47Speaker 2: It's got a tab that offers a $ 500 voucher, very deceptive,
- 18:51Speaker 2: reportedly using a tool that can break into vulnerable iPhones,
- 18:55Speaker 2: which could then steal sensitive data.
- 18:57Speaker 1: Really scary.
- 18:58Speaker 2: So we've got to be careful with that. There has
- 19:00Speaker 2: also been a parking meter scam around town, but fortunately
- 19:04Speaker 2: police have arrested a suspect. He was putting fake QR
- 19:08Speaker 2: code stickers on the parking meters. And then when you
- 19:10Speaker 2: went to pay for parking, it was like going into
- 19:12Speaker 2: his account.
- 19:13Speaker 1: I don't trust anybody anymore.
- 19:14Speaker 2: Allegedly.
- 19:14Speaker 1: Yeah.
- 19:15Speaker 2: Yes. And of course, October is Breast Cancer Awareness Month.
- 19:19Speaker 2: The World Health Organization saying in 2024, over 2 million
- 19:23Speaker 2: women worldwide were diagnosed with breast cancer. So we'll be
- 19:26Speaker 2: raising awareness throughout the month and event to kick it
- 19:29Speaker 2: off today at Grand Central. In sports baseball, Yankees swept
- 19:33Speaker 2: the Red Sox. They won 9-2. They move on to
- 19:36Speaker 2: play the Rays on Saturday. Thursday night football, Steelers beat
- 19:39Speaker 2: the Browns. Steelers, they didn't beat them yet. They play
- 19:41Speaker 2: the Browns.
- 19:42Speaker 1: Are you picking already? 15.
- 19:43Speaker 2: I'm not. Would you know, by the way?
- 19:46Speaker 1: I'm not picking tonight's game, but I know what.
- 19:49Speaker 2: If one of those guys are going to win, one
- 19:51Speaker 2: is going to win.
- 19:51Speaker 1: That's actually a good one, I think.
- 19:52Speaker 2: Steelers over the Browns.
- 19:53Speaker 1: Because the Browns are surprisingly 2-1. Okay. And Pittsburgh is,
- 19:58Speaker 1: what's their record? What are they? 2-1. They're both 2-1,
- 20:02Speaker 1: and they're both kind of rivals.
- 20:03Speaker 2: And producers, Kristen's going with the Browns, and she usually.
- 20:06Speaker 1: No, it's not a pick. Not your pick.
- 20:07Speaker 2: No. No, no, no. I thought your official pick, but
- 20:10Speaker 2: between those two teams.
- 20:12Speaker 1: Okay, and the Browns are at home tonight. So, all right,
- 20:14Speaker 1: this is not an official pick.
- 20:15Speaker 2: Not an official, no, no, no.
- 20:17Speaker 1: But maybe take the Browns tonight if you're a betting person.
- 20:19Speaker 2: Yeah, I shouldn't have thrown the question out there. It
- 20:21Speaker 2: just threw us for a loop.
- 20:22Speaker 1: I'm sorry. It's all good.
- 20:23Speaker 2: All right. When you're talking on the phone, it still
- 20:26Speaker 2: happens from time to time, which ear do you hold
- 20:29Speaker 2: the phone up to? Scientists discovered that if you hold
- 20:32Speaker 2: the phone to your left ear, you tend to be empathetic,
- 20:36Speaker 2: extra creative, and intuitive. And you also don't like to
- 20:39Speaker 2: follow the rules. If you hold it to your right ear,
- 20:43Speaker 2: chances are you're logical, detail-oriented, and able to devise practical
- 20:47Speaker 2: solutions to any problem.
- 20:49Speaker 1: Well, I do my right ear, but it's because I'm right-handed.
- 20:51Speaker 2: I think the same.
- 20:52Speaker 1: Didn't it come down to that?
- 20:53Speaker 2: I think the same. And Kristen is a lefty, and
- 20:56Speaker 2: she holds it up to her.
- 20:57Speaker 1: She's the only lefty in the room.
- 20:58Speaker 2: All right, let's tell the scientists now.
- 21:01Speaker 1: Rip that story up.
- 21:01Speaker 2: We disagree.
- 21:02Speaker 3: Mort Covey and Christine. And the great music variety you expect.
- 21:06Speaker 3: Next on Light FM.
- 21:07Speaker 1: One of the first soundtracks I bought in 1986. I
- 21:10Speaker 1: bought the Top Gun soundtrack for that song. Oh, and
- 21:12Speaker 1: Take My Breath Away 2 was on there.
- 21:14Speaker 2: Oh, yeah, that's a big song.
- 21:15Speaker 1: And it was October 1st, 1982 that the first compact
- 21:19Speaker 1: disc player went on sale. So it was how many
- 21:21Speaker 1: years ago today? $ 625, by the way, was the first
- 21:25Speaker 1: compact disc player. I didn't get one when they came out.
- 21:28Speaker 1: but I did get my first CD player, I think,
- 21:31Speaker 1: in 85. And then the first CD I ever bought,
- 21:35Speaker 1: Top Gun was a soundtrack, and the first CD I
- 21:37Speaker 1: ever bought was The Cars' Greatest Hits. Oh, wow.
- 21:40Speaker 2: You remember all this stuff?
- 21:41Speaker 1: In 85. And they came in a big, long box.
- 21:43Speaker 1: I don't know if you remember that.
- 21:44Speaker 2: They used to. Yeah, you're right.
- 21:46Speaker 1: It was a total waste of paper. Right.
- 21:48Speaker 2: Then they discovered that was a waste.
- 21:50Speaker 1: Yep. But they did that in the beginning.
- 21:53Speaker 2: Oh, because of the albums.
- 21:54Speaker 1: And they wanted to get, yeah, they wanted the CDs
- 21:55Speaker 1: to stick out.
- 21:56Speaker 2: Yeah.
- 21:57Speaker 1: And get your attention.
- 21:58Speaker 2: Yeah.
- 21:58Speaker 1: And they realized we're wasting a lot of paper.
- 22:00Speaker 2: Right. And I think the shelves were set up for
- 22:02Speaker 2: that at the time too, you know?
- 22:04Speaker 1: But man, October 1st, 1982, would you buy, if this
- 22:08Speaker 1: was 82, do you think $ 625? I know it was
- 22:11Speaker 1: a lot of money back then.
- 22:12Speaker 2: Yeah.
- 22:13Speaker 1: But you think people were running to the stores to
- 22:15Speaker 1: get one? I don't know if people knew that technology
- 22:19Speaker 1: was there yet or if it was just going to
- 22:21Speaker 1: be a thing.
- 22:21Speaker 2: I don't know. Isn't it like today, like if you
- 22:23Speaker 2: want the latest tech, if that's what you're into?
- 22:25Speaker 1: I had a buddy of mine put a DAT player
- 22:28Speaker 1: in his car because he thought DAT players are going
- 22:31Speaker 1: to take over the world.
- 22:32Speaker 2: I thought that was, I thought DATs were only in radio.
- 22:34Speaker 1: Pretty much you only ended up in radio.
- 22:36Speaker 2: Yeah. That's like the only time I heard of it
- 22:38Speaker 2: was like starting to work in radio.
- 22:40Speaker 1: Yeah.
- 22:40Speaker 2: A dap player. Wow.
- 22:42Speaker 1: Can you remember your first CD? Or do you remember
- 22:44Speaker 1: one CD you had?
- 22:44Speaker 2: Well, like Sting stands out to me a lot.
- 22:47Speaker 1: Sting, okay. Because I loved... Did you like all the
- 22:48Speaker 1: police stuff too?
- 22:50Speaker 2: I was more into Sting.
- 22:51Speaker 1: When he went solo?
- 22:52Speaker 2: When he went solo. I told you Dream of the
- 22:53Speaker 2: Blue Turtles was like, for me, life-changing.
- 22:56Speaker 1: Great album.
- 22:56Speaker 3: Yeah.
- 22:57Speaker 1: Great album.
- 22:57Speaker 2: Yeah, but we're... Yeah. He's going out on... He's on
- 23:00Speaker 2: tour right now.
- 23:01Speaker 1: I'm sure he'll be back.
- 23:02Speaker 2: I should let him know I need to go see
- 23:03Speaker 2: him again. I saw him many times in concert. And
- 23:06Speaker 2: he's such a great guy.
- 23:06Speaker 1: Yeah. I mean, you could tell. We interviewed him not
- 23:09Speaker 1: too long ago.
- 23:10Speaker 2: With Shaggy.
- 23:11Speaker 1: With Shaggy.
- 23:11Speaker 2: Yeah.
- 23:12Speaker 1: And you could tell he's answered some of these questions
- 23:14Speaker 1: a million times, but he still does it with poise, kindness,
- 23:19Speaker 1: and tells a good story.
- 23:20Speaker 2: And he's really good because I think he puts up
- 23:22Speaker 2: with my fangirlness. Yeah, you're a true fan. Because that
- 23:25Speaker 2: tends to come out when he's around.
- 23:27Speaker 1: He's a good looking dude.
- 23:28Speaker 2: Of course he is. Yeah. Yeah.
- 23:30Speaker 1: So anyway, October 1st, first CD player went on sale.
- 23:33Speaker 1: And by the way, happy birthday to Walt Disney World.
- 23:35Speaker 1: Walt Disney World. It was October 1st, 1971, that Walt
- 23:40Speaker 1: Disney World opened in Florida. Oh, that's a happy day.
- 23:44Speaker 1: And producer Kristen wasn't born yet, but her spirit was
- 23:46Speaker 1: in line.
- 23:47Speaker 2: Yes.
- 23:48Speaker 1: Waiting to be born, to be there. 55 years old.
- 23:51Speaker 2: She was in Disney baby heaven waiting to come here.
- 23:53Speaker 1: I wonder what the price of a season pass was
- 23:58Speaker 1: back then. Because now an annual pass, I believe, is
- 24:02Speaker 1: a grand? No, or higher. How much? $ 1, 600. $ 1, 600? For
- 24:06Speaker 1: an annual pass to Disney. Because some people that live
- 24:09Speaker 1: in the New York area still buy the annual because
- 24:11Speaker 1: they get down there so much with the kids. It
- 24:13Speaker 1: pays for itself.
- 24:14Speaker 2: Yeah. You've got to go a lot of trips.
- 24:17Speaker 1: A lot of trips. Yeah. Then the airfare adds up.
- 24:20Speaker 2: There's that.
- 24:21Speaker 1: All right. So that's what's going on on this October 1st.
- 24:23Speaker 1: It's 106.7 Light FM.
- 24:25Speaker 3: More Cubby and Christine. And the great music variety you expect.
- 24:29Speaker 3: Next on Light FM.
- 24:30Speaker 1: It is day one of October. 106.7 Light FM. Cubby
- 24:33Speaker 1: and Christine in the morning. And October means a lot
- 24:35Speaker 1: of things. We're really kind of getting the fall feel.
- 24:38Speaker 2: It means fall for sure.
- 24:40Speaker 1: It means fall.
- 24:40Speaker 2: Yes.
- 24:41Speaker 1: I know it turned fall two weeks ago, but for
- 24:42Speaker 1: some reason when October comes around, I feel like every
- 24:45Speaker 1: leaf should be now orange. Exactly. Yes.
- 24:48Speaker 2: So there's a color scheme change that seems to happen
- 24:51Speaker 2: with the fall. And Cubby, there's always trendsetters, fashionistas who
- 24:55Speaker 2: are telling us what colors are in for this fall season.
- 24:59Speaker 2: Taking a center stage, they said, is tomato red.
- 25:03Speaker 1: Tomato red.
- 25:04Speaker 2: Tomato red.
- 25:05Speaker 1: Is it a really dark red?
- 25:07Speaker 2: Well, tomato head.
- 25:08Speaker 1: I know, whatever tomato is.
- 25:08Speaker 2: It's a pop of color in your shoes, socks, or accessories.
- 25:11Speaker 2: This bold shade has a way of instantly drawing attention
- 25:14Speaker 2: and tying a whole look together. Also really big for fall,
- 25:18Speaker 2: Midnight Navy. Equal parts timeless and trendy.
- 25:21Speaker 1: I saw them open up for Bon Jovi a long
- 25:23Speaker 1: time ago, Midnight Navy. They were really good, by the way.
- 25:26Speaker 1: I don't know where that happened to them.
- 25:27Speaker 2: This shade channels some classic prep school style while giving
- 25:31Speaker 2: any look a sleek, sophisticated edge. Chocolate brown.
- 25:36Speaker 1: They used to open up.
- 25:38Speaker 2: They were the opener to the opener.
- 25:40Speaker 1: To the opener. Yes. And they had a label and everything. Yes.
- 25:42Speaker 1: I haven't heard from them in years.
- 25:43Speaker 2: No, no. Just search Instagram. Maybe you can find them.
- 25:47Speaker 2: Dependable is your favorite sweater. Chocolate brown returns every fall,
- 25:50Speaker 2: but this year it's stepping into the spotlight, kids. Rich
- 25:53Speaker 2: hue adds warmth, depth, effortless, polished touch to any look.
- 25:57Speaker 2: And finally, pink and cream. Separately, they're great, but together
- 26:01Speaker 2: they're one of fall's prettiest color combinations. Shades of pink
- 26:04Speaker 2: were everywhere on the runways this year. And when paired
- 26:06Speaker 2: with soft, creamy neutrals, they create a look that is
- 26:10Speaker 2: equal parts fresh, feminine, and effortlessly chic. And I'm seeing
- 26:13Speaker 2: the combo of chocolate brown with pink together in a
- 26:18Speaker 2: lot of the stores, and it looks beautiful.
- 26:19Speaker 1: All kidding aside, when you read these stories, do you
- 26:22Speaker 1: follow it to a T, or is it kind of
- 26:24Speaker 1: in the back of your mind when you're shopping? Do
- 26:27Speaker 1: you take all of that? And say, I got to
- 26:31Speaker 1: buy red.
- 26:32Speaker 2: No, I don't think, oh, I have to buy it.
- 26:33Speaker 1: Tomato red, I got to buy tomato red.
- 26:34Speaker 2: But it just, it kind of confirms what I'm seeing.
- 26:37Speaker 2: Do you know what I mean? So I go out
- 26:38Speaker 2: shopping and that's what's being.
- 26:40Speaker 1: What's on the rack?
- 26:40Speaker 2: Yeah, that's what's being suggested. And it's like, oh, okay.
- 26:44Speaker 2: But they are beautiful combos. And you do like to
- 26:46Speaker 2: see something different. Yeah.
- 26:47Speaker 1: I love combos, by the way. As a snack.
- 26:51Speaker 2: Yeah. Fries. And fries.
- 26:52Speaker 1: Oh, yeah. You want to play a trivia battle? We
- 26:56Speaker 1: have a prize for you.
- 26:56Speaker 2: 1-800-222-1067.
- 26:57Speaker 1: We need two people to play. Whoever wins, wins what?
- 27:02Speaker 2: Tickets to In the Heights at New York City Center.
- 27:05Speaker 2: This Tony-winning musical coming to New York City Center this fall.
- 27:08Speaker 2: Gets you dancing in your seat with its game-changing blend
- 27:11Speaker 2: of Latin rhythms, hip-hop, and traditional Broadway sounds. For tickets,
- 27:14Speaker 2: visit nycitycenter.org or give us a call.
- 27:18Speaker 3: More Covey and Christine. And the great music variety you expect.
- 27:21Speaker 3: Next on Light FM.
- 27:22Speaker 1: 106.7 Light FM. Covey, Christine, producer Kristen's hanging out with us.
- 27:26Speaker 1: There is an NFL football game tonight. Therefore, we need
- 27:30Speaker 1: to have our survivor pool picks in. Are you nervous, Christine?
- 27:34Speaker 2: Yes.
- 27:34Speaker 1: Let me tell you why it's going to be an
- 27:35Speaker 1: exciting weekend. Because we're all tied. You know, with most
- 27:39Speaker 1: survivor pools, if you miss one, you're out. But we
- 27:41Speaker 1: did two strikes this year. So we all have one
- 27:44Speaker 1: strike now remaining. So you can't miss anymore.
- 27:48Speaker 2: We're like in the wild card playoffs.
- 27:50Speaker 1: Yeah. It's life support almost.
- 27:52Speaker 2: Yeah.
- 27:52Speaker 1: So if somebody misses this weekend, they're out. And if
- 27:57Speaker 1: we all win, then great. It just moves right along.
- 27:59Speaker 1: But if you don't know what a survivor pool is,
- 28:02Speaker 1: It's a sports contest where we're going to pick one
- 28:04Speaker 1: team to win outright each week. And if they advance
- 28:08Speaker 1: and you're correct, then boom, you're still in it. But
- 28:11Speaker 1: if you miss, boom, you're out.
- 28:13Speaker 2: Okay.
- 28:14Speaker 1: Well, ladies first. Who have you decided? Which game are
- 28:20Speaker 1: you taking and who's going to win, Christine?
- 28:21Speaker 2: Very nervous about this one, Cubby.
- 28:23Speaker 1: Why are you nervous?
- 28:24Speaker 2: Because I hate to go against a New York team.
- 28:27Speaker 2: But the only reason I am. is because the Bears
- 28:30Speaker 2: are Bears, and I need to stick with animals. So
- 28:33Speaker 2: I'm going to choose, I'm sorry, the Bears over the Jets.
- 28:37Speaker 1: Not a bad pick.
- 28:38Speaker 2: Okay.
- 28:40Speaker 1: Yeah, Jets in Chicago. I'm a Jets fan, but I'm
- 28:44Speaker 1: a little shaky on that game, too.
- 28:45Speaker 3: Okay.
- 28:46Speaker 1: Not a bad pick, Christine.
- 28:47Speaker 2: All right, thank you.
- 28:48Speaker 1: Chicago Bears, it's official, over the Jets. Yeah. That's Christine.
- 28:51Speaker 2: Sorry, I'm sorry. Okay.
- 28:53Speaker 1: Producer Kristen, you're not allowed to talk, but. Can you
- 28:56Speaker 1: yell far or can you just mouth it to me?
- 28:59Speaker 1: Who are you picking? You're still making a decision. She
- 29:01Speaker 1: has papers all around her. She's still looking at the papers.
- 29:04Speaker 2: She's good at analyzing.
- 29:05Speaker 1: Hmm. She just pointed to me. You go.
- 29:09Speaker 2: You know, it's like at a restaurant. Oh, you order first.
- 29:12Speaker 2: Gives me an extra 10 seconds.
- 29:13Speaker 1: All right. I'm going with the Minnesota Vikings over the
- 29:16Speaker 1: Miami Dolphins. The Dolphins are the team to go to, really,
- 29:21Speaker 1: if you want to surefire, like, win. I mean, don't
- 29:23Speaker 1: pick them. Just go for whoever's playing them. So I'm
- 29:26Speaker 1: going Minnesota over Dolphins. Do you know there's speculation, Christine,
- 29:29Speaker 1: some NFL experts are thinking that the Dolphins might go 0-17?
- 29:34Speaker 1: They're that bad this year?
- 29:35Speaker 2: Wow.
- 29:35Speaker 1: So if you're in a survivor pool, always go against
- 29:38Speaker 1: the Dolphins if you can. And I can because I
- 29:41Speaker 1: haven't picked the Vikings before. Oh, man. So Vikings over Dolphins.
- 29:44Speaker 1: All right.
- 29:44Speaker 2: And Producer Kristen, you're doing the same?
- 29:46Speaker 1: You're doing the same? Yeah. There's no rules against that.
- 29:48Speaker 1: So you're doing the same? All right. So Kristen's going
- 29:51Speaker 1: with Vikings over Dolphins as well. And one more time, Christine,
- 29:55Speaker 1: Bears over the Jets in Chicago.
- 29:57Speaker 2: With my apologies.
- 29:58Speaker 1: But you do know that if the Jets end up
- 30:00Speaker 1: pulling this off, you're out.
- 30:02Speaker 2: Yeah, you guys are getting breakfast for sure. Maybe this
- 30:05Speaker 2: will guarantee the Jets will win.
- 30:07Speaker 1: There you go. Good luck charm, maybe. Yes. We'll see
- 30:11Speaker 1: what happens. Both of these games, by the way, are
- 30:14Speaker 1: being played this weekend. There's a game tonight, but no
- 30:17Speaker 1: one's picking it. Steelers-Browns. All right, Christine, let's give something away.
- 30:20Speaker 1: Looking for caller 10 at 1-800-222-1067.
- 30:23Speaker 2: A pair of tickets to see Michael Jackson History Show, Saturday,
- 30:27Speaker 2: October 24th at Flagstar at Westbury Music Fair. Tickets available
- 30:31Speaker 2: now at Ticketmaster.com or give us a call.
- 30:33Speaker 1: Good luck from Light FM.
