- 0:27Speaker 6: the air hi how can we help you.
- 0:29Speaker 5: Hi I was just calling the radio, and I wasn't
- 0:33Speaker 5: sure why.
- 0:34Speaker 1: So that's my question.
- 0:36Speaker 5: Why am I calling into the radio?
- 0:38Speaker 2: No, that is a stupid question.
- 0:39Speaker 3: So you heard me say call in, and you called in. Yeah,
- 0:43Speaker 3: that was just the trigger, and I just.
- 0:45Speaker 2: Figured, hey, why not?
- 0:46Speaker 3: All right, good, good. Well, it's National Ask a Stupid
- 0:48Speaker 3: Question Day, Christina. So thanks for calling in.
- 0:51Speaker 1: Yeah.
- 0:51Speaker 3: All right.
- 0:52Speaker 1: Glow.
- 0:53Speaker 3: Good morning, Glow.
- 0:55Speaker 5: Morning, y'all.
- 0:57Speaker 6: Okay.
- 0:58Speaker 5: Stupid question is, John Jay, when you're doing stacks and hacks,
- 1:03Speaker 5: are you saying stacked or stacks is my stupid question?
- 1:08Speaker 6: That's a great question because I mumble a lot. So
- 1:13Speaker 6: we created stacks and hacks because I have all this
- 1:17Speaker 6: stuff I want to get to, and I end up
- 1:18Speaker 6: putting it in a pile. So it's just stacks and stacks.
- 1:22Speaker 6: So it's S-T-A-C-K-S, stacks. And then hacks rhymes with stacks.
- 1:28Speaker 7: Right because irritating but i'm like just go with it glow.
- 1:34Speaker 1: Just go with it but i get how you would
- 1:37Speaker 1: think it was stats like statistics.
- 1:39Speaker 8: Yeah yeah yeah thanks glow hey have.
- 1:43Speaker 2: A good day you too yeah i've done question what up.
- 1:46Speaker 7: Alex hey um so mine is kind of like a
- 1:50Speaker 7: memory um i don't know maybe like I was in
- 1:53Speaker 7: high school, so like mid-2000s. My family was watching TV,
- 1:56Speaker 7: and they were all watching The Fresh Prince of Bel-Air.
- 1:58Speaker 7: And I joined in late, and when I sat down,
- 2:01Speaker 7: I was just not even like real... It was an
- 2:04Speaker 7: honest question. I was like, hey, is this a rerun?
- 2:08Speaker 7: And they all sat there in silence, and they were like, yeah,
- 2:11Speaker 7: they're all reruns. Like, are you serious right now?
- 2:16Speaker 3: Because it was over.
- 2:17Speaker 7: I just didn't even process what I was saying. I
- 2:19Speaker 7: was just like, oh my gosh, wait, have we seen
- 2:21Speaker 7: this one?
- 2:22Speaker 5: Like.
- 2:23Speaker 3: But they did end up remaking it a couple of
- 2:25Speaker 3: years ago.
- 2:26Speaker 5: Yeah, yeah, they did.
- 2:28Speaker 7: I don't think it was nearly as funny, but it was.
- 2:31Speaker 3: It wasn't a comedy. This is my first thought.
- 2:33Speaker 2: I was like, wait, is this.
- 2:36Speaker 5: The right one?
- 2:37Speaker 7: Have you seen this one yet?
- 2:39Speaker 3: That's good, Alex. Thank you. Wait, hold on. Hold on.
- 2:42Speaker 3: We got Becky G tickets online here. Kat, good morning.
- 2:46Speaker 7: Good morning.
- 2:47Speaker 3: What's your stupid question?
- 2:50Speaker 7: You know, it's more of like a high thought. Can
- 2:53Speaker 7: anybody else hear when you scratch your head that you
- 2:56Speaker 7: hear the shh.
- 2:58Speaker 4: Shh, shh?
- 2:58Speaker 7: Who else hears that besides you?
- 3:00Speaker 4: Oh, yeah.
- 3:00Speaker 2: I think you can hear when somebody's scratching their head.
- 3:03Speaker 3: No, you mean the inside, like in your bones?
- 3:04Speaker 2: Can they hear the shh, shh, shh? I don't know
- 3:06Speaker 2: if you can. I don't think other people can hear that.
- 3:09Speaker 2: I feel like I've seen John Jay.
- 3:10Speaker 3: Unless they're really going at it.
- 3:11Speaker 2: Yeah, because John Jay really goes at his ear, and
- 3:13Speaker 2: I can hear that from over here.
- 3:14Speaker 6: It's kind of like when you're chewing, you think no
- 3:16Speaker 6: one else can hear you, but when they do hear you, yeah.
- 3:19Speaker 3: All right, Kat, that's a good one. Hold on.
- 3:21Speaker 2: That is a high thought.
- 3:22Speaker 3: Rebecca.
- 3:23Speaker 5: Hi, good morning. How is everyone today?
- 3:26Speaker 1: Hi, good.
- 3:27Speaker 3: It's National Ask a Stupid Question Day. What's yours?
- 3:29Speaker 6: All right.
- 3:30Speaker 5: My stupid question. No matter how many times I've tried
- 3:33Speaker 5: to wrap my head around this concept, I don't understand
- 3:36Speaker 5: the concept and how you launder money.
- 3:41Speaker 3: Oh, God.
- 3:42Speaker 6: Yeah.
- 3:43Speaker 3: I've never understood that. I watched Ozark twice.
- 3:45Speaker 2: The racketeering.
- 3:47Speaker 3: Oh, it's such a.
- 3:48Speaker 5: Seriously, I think Ozark is the one that prompted it
- 3:50Speaker 5: for me. I'm like, well, if you're putting money into
- 3:53Speaker 5: a business, you're just getting taxed on it anyways.
- 3:55Speaker 4: I don't get it.
- 3:56Speaker 5: I don't get the benefit. I'm trying to figure it out.
- 3:59Speaker 5: I just can't.
- 4:00Speaker 3: I was watching something the other day.
- 4:01Speaker 6: I can't remember what it was, but somebody handed somebody
- 4:03Speaker 6: a bag of money on a TV show and a
- 4:05Speaker 6: whole bag of money.
- 4:06Speaker 3: And they goes, you're going to have to launder this now.
- 4:07Speaker 3: And I was like. What does that mean? Doesn't that
- 4:10Speaker 3: mean like.
- 4:10Speaker 6: You clean it through your business?
- 4:12Speaker 4: So it's like if you're a drug mule or if
- 4:14Speaker 4: you're a drug dealer and you get a bunch of cash,
- 4:16Speaker 4: then you would put it into the strip club that
- 4:18Speaker 4: you own. So eventually it goes in through a business
- 4:20Speaker 4: and then when it comes out, it's legitimate.
- 4:22Speaker 2: It looks legit. Yeah, it looks legit. I think that's
- 4:25Speaker 2: how that works.
- 4:25Speaker 5: You're only getting a portion because you're still getting taxed
- 4:28Speaker 5: on it, right?
- 4:29Speaker 2: Yeah, I guess so.
- 4:30Speaker 3: You know, that's a good question. That's not a stupid question.
- 4:33Speaker 3: You've been eliminated. Andrew, good morning. Hey, guys. Oh, you're
- 4:39Speaker 3: breaking up. What's your question? Oh, sorry.
- 4:43Speaker 8: So my question, for years, I never understood it, and
- 4:46Speaker 8: I still don't know it to the day. People never
- 4:48Speaker 8: told me. They just think I'm stupid. But I never
- 4:51Speaker 8: understood what is a take a penny, leave a penny. Like,
- 4:55Speaker 8: what is that?
- 4:58Speaker 1: So if you're short of change, you can borrow money.
- 5:02Speaker 1: like a penny or two from that stash. But if
- 5:05Speaker 1: you go over a little bit, you could leave your
- 5:07Speaker 1: pennies in there for somebody else.
- 5:08Speaker 3: You mean like at a 7-Eleven or something?
- 5:09Speaker 2: Yeah, yeah.
- 5:10Speaker 3: I thought he was doing a phrase.
- 5:11Speaker 2: Like the change jar at a store. Yeah.
- 5:13Speaker 3: That's the part you don't get?
- 5:15Speaker 8: Yeah, no, because I saw them when I was a
- 5:17Speaker 8: little kid. I was probably maybe seven years old and
- 5:19Speaker 8: I saw it, and it just never made sense to me.
- 5:22Speaker 8: It's like, take a penny, leave a penny. So I
- 5:24Speaker 8: take a penny, but then I leave a penny. But
- 5:26Speaker 8: then I'm short a penny.
- 5:28Speaker 6: No, like let's say you're buying something and it's $ 5. 02.
- 5:33Speaker 6: And you don't want to break your other five. So
- 5:36Speaker 6: you can take $ 0.
- 5:37Speaker 3: 02 out of there.
- 5:37Speaker 6: Now let's say there's another day where you're there and
- 5:40Speaker 6: your bill is $ 4. 80 and you get $ 0. 20 back. You
- 5:44Speaker 6: can take $ 0. 20 and put it back in the thing.
- 5:48Speaker 6: It's like just being a kind person.
- 5:50Speaker 1: Yeah, either way, like a couple of pennies doesn't matter.
- 5:52Speaker 3: That's a good one. Hold on, Andrew. That's a good question.
- 5:54Speaker 3: That's a good one. I might sneeze. Jordan, good morning.
- 5:56Speaker 3: What's your stupid question? Hi.
- 5:58Speaker 4: Hi.
- 5:59Speaker 5: So mine is more of a story about a stupid
- 6:01Speaker 5: question that I asked when I was in high school.
- 6:04Speaker 5: One of my teachers had what he called a dumb
- 6:07Speaker 5: quote board. And anytime someone asked something that he thought
- 6:11Speaker 5: was dumb, he would write our quote on the board
- 6:13Speaker 5: and our name for every class period to see for
- 6:16Speaker 5: that week. And I... raised my hand, and I asked,
- 6:21Speaker 5: we were talking about prairie dogs, and I asked if
- 6:23Speaker 5: dogs was spelled D-A-W-G. And he put it on the board,
- 6:27Speaker 5: and I've been embarrassed ever since.
- 6:31Speaker 3: Well, you're not wrong. That's your friend.
- 6:33Speaker 2: In some cases, it is.
- 6:34Speaker 3: That's your buddy. That's your dog.
- 6:35Speaker 2: Okay.
- 6:38Speaker 3: Hold on, Jordan.
- 6:38Speaker 6: All right, real quick. Out of all these, who gets
- 6:40Speaker 6: BKG tickets? Who do you guys think, which is the
- 6:42Speaker 6: dumbest question? Stupidest question.
- 6:47Speaker 2: I like them all. I have to say, they're all good.
- 6:50Speaker 1: Alex with the rerun is good.
- 6:52Speaker 2: It's pretty good. And then I like Kat with the
- 6:54Speaker 2: scratch your head.
- 6:55Speaker 1: Scratch your head's like the, it's more of a deep thought,
- 6:58Speaker 1: but it's about it thought.
- 7:00Speaker 3: Kat, you want Becky G tickets? Are you down?
- 7:02Speaker 1: Yes.
- 7:04Speaker 3: Okay. I think she's coming to the fair. So you
- 7:08Speaker 3: get to go to the fair and see her too.
- 7:09Speaker 3: That's fun.
- 7:10Speaker 4: Yeah. Awesome.
- 7:11Speaker 5: All right, hold on, Kat.
- 7:12Speaker 3: All right.
- 7:13Speaker 2: Scratching her head.
- 7:15Speaker 3: Dil, can you handle that? I got a stupid question
- 7:18Speaker 3: real quick. Yeah, let's go.
- 7:19Speaker 1: Before we move on.
- 7:19Speaker 3: No, I was going to tell you my stupid question.
- 7:22Speaker 4: If tomatoes are technically a fruit, right, is ketchup like
- 7:26Speaker 4: a smoothie?
- 7:28Speaker 1: It's good.
- 7:29Speaker 3: I was going to say, you know how you go
- 7:31Speaker 3: to Taco Bell and you just have the sporks? I
- 7:33Speaker 3: was like, how come it's not called foon?
- 7:36Speaker 6: I like foon.
- 7:37Speaker 3: It's a spork.
- 7:37Speaker 6: It's good.
- 7:38Speaker 3: Like they went, hey, it's a spoon and a fork.
- 7:40Speaker 3: It's a spork.
- 7:41Speaker 1: Maybe.
- 7:41Speaker 3: Why not call it a food?
- 7:42Speaker 2: Maybe these aren't dumb. Maybe these are smarter than we
- 7:44Speaker 2: think they are.
- 7:44Speaker 3: No, but maybe it's because it's more spoon than fork. Maybe.
- 7:48Speaker 3: I don't know.
- 7:48Speaker 2: You know the phrase after dark?
- 7:51Speaker 3: Yeah.
- 7:51Speaker 2: Why isn't it after light? It's not after dark. After
- 7:53Speaker 2: dark is morning.
- 7:54Speaker 6: That's right. So this is a question my wife asked
- 7:58Speaker 6: me this weekend. So we were in Mexico this weekend.
- 8:01Speaker 6: We were in Cancun for this longevity seminar thing with
- 8:04Speaker 6: a bunch of doctors and stuff. And she says to me,
- 8:05Speaker 6: we're sitting on the beach looking at this beautiful beach.
- 8:08Speaker 6: And she says, what ocean is this? And I'm like,
- 8:13Speaker 6: and I was like, oh my God, I don't know.
- 8:15Speaker 6: Do you guys know?
- 8:16Speaker 3: Pacific?
- 8:17Speaker 2: I would guess Pacific.
- 8:18Speaker 3: Wrong, wrong.
- 8:19Speaker 2: So it's Atlantic?
- 8:21Speaker 4: Wrong.
- 8:22Speaker 3: I mean, it's the Caribbean and it goes into the Atlantic.
- 8:26Speaker 3: And I was like, oh, wow. Okay. Had no idea.
- 8:29Speaker 3: But I had to Google it. I was like.
- 8:30Speaker 2: I guess I think Mexico, since we're on that side,
- 8:33Speaker 2: it would be. Because I was all like, come on, Blake.
- 8:35Speaker 2: And I was like, I don't know.
- 8:37Speaker 3: Yeah, I've never been great with geography.
- 8:40Speaker 2: The maps.
- 8:42Speaker 3: But I know that had I said that question to
- 8:43Speaker 3: my dad, he would.
- 8:44Speaker 6: Have been pissed off. When I was a kid, I
- 8:46Speaker 6: remember one time I asked him if Denmark was in
- 8:47Speaker 6: the United States. He was pissed.
- 8:50Speaker 3: I bet.
- 8:51Speaker 4: Yeah.
