- 0:00Hello friends! Welcome back to Wonderfully Made,
- 0:04Bible Stories for Children. I'm so glad you're
- 0:08here! Last time, Elijah was afraid and very tired.
- 0:14He ran into the wilderness and felt alone. But
- 0:18God met him, not in a great wind, or an earthquake,
- 0:22or fire, but in a gentle, quiet sound. God cared
- 0:28for Elijah and gave him new work to do. One of
- 0:32those instructions was about a man named Elisha.
- 0:36Today, we'll see what happened when Elijah found
- 0:40him, and how God continued his work through someone
- 0:43new. Are you ready? Let's jump in. Elijah went
- 1:02from the mountain and traveled until he found
- 1:05Elisha. He was in a field plowing the land with
- 1:09oxen working hard, guiding them as they pulled
- 1:12the plow through the ground. This was his ordinary
- 1:15life. A farmer, doing his work. Elijah came near
- 1:21to Elisha. He placed his cloak on him. This was
- 1:26a sign. It showed that Elisha was being chosen
- 1:30for a special purpose. To follow Elijah and serve
- 1:34the Lord. Elisha understood. He left the oxen
- 1:39and ran after Elijah. He asked to go and say
- 1:43goodbye to his father and mother. Elijah allowed
- 1:46him to return. Elisha went back but not to stay.
- 1:52He took the oxen he had been using and prepared
- 1:55them as food. He used the wooden tools from his
- 1:59work to make a fire. Then he gave the food to
- 2:03the people, and they ate. After that, Elisha
- 2:08left. He went after Elijah and began to serve
- 2:11him. His old life as a farmer was behind him.
- 2:16God had called him to something new. Elijah was
- 2:20not alone anymore. Elisha was now with him. God
- 2:25was continuing his work, not just through Elijah,
- 2:30but through another servant as well. The same
- 2:34God who cared for Elijah was now calling Elisha,
- 2:38and the work of the Lord would go on. Let's think
- 2:51about this story together. Elisha was doing ordinary
- 2:58work when Elijah found him. What does this show
- 3:02us about where God can call people? God didn't
- 3:17stop his work when Elijah was tired. He called
- 3:21someone new. What does that teach us about God?
- 3:28What are some ways we can follow God in our own
- 3:31lives, even in small, everyday things? God sees
- 3:38us in our ordinary lives. And when he calls,
- 3:42he is inviting us to trust him and follow, just
- 3:46like Elisha did. Thanks for joining me today.
- 3:52Next time on Wonderfully Made. we'll see a surprising
- 3:56moment between Elijah and Elisha. A journey will
- 4:01come to an end. A new beginning will take place.
- 4:05And something incredible will happen that shows
- 4:09God's power in a way no one expected. We'll find
- 4:13out next time. Until then, remember, you are
- 4:17wonderfully made. Bye for now.
