- 0:09Speaker 2: care while traveling, shall we?
- 0:12Speaker 3: Yes, let's do that.
- 0:14Speaker 1: Good morning, Helena.
- 0:15Speaker 4: I'm gonna be traveling soon, and I'm encouraging Kryen Bill
- 0:19Speaker 4: to also.
- 0:19Speaker 1: Travel, so these will be Gina wants us to go
- 0:21Speaker 1: to Japan with her.
- 0:24Speaker 3: Oh, that would be so cool.
- 0:25Speaker 1: Wouldn't it be fun if all of us went to
- 0:27Speaker 1: Japan together? I mean, go ahead, as.
- 0:33Speaker 3: You say, it's It's one of my dream locations, so
- 0:36Speaker 3: I could. I could almost be talked into that trip too.
- 0:39Speaker 1: Well, why don't you come too?
- 0:40Speaker 3: Then we'll all go Yeah, okay, it'll be a party.
- 0:43Speaker 1: And how will we take care of ourselves while we're
- 0:45Speaker 1: doing it?
- 0:46Speaker 3: Yes, my first recommendation is to stay hydrated when we travel.
- 0:53Speaker 3: We often walk more than we usually would or spend
- 0:56Speaker 3: more time in the sun, and so we really need
- 0:59Speaker 3: to make sure that we are replenishing by drinking lots
- 1:02Speaker 3: of water, maybe some electrolytes.
- 1:04Speaker 2: Things like that hydrates and vacation drinking, and I mean
- 1:08Speaker 2: alcohol that also dehydrates you.
- 1:11Speaker 3: It does. Yes, alcoholic can help can add to that dehydration,
- 1:15Speaker 3: So make sure you getting lots and lots of water.
- 1:18Speaker 3: What's next next is to eat some fruits and veggies. Okay,
- 1:24Speaker 3: you know for myself, sometimes it can be really hard
- 1:29Speaker 3: to find vegetables, to find fruits, things like that. They
- 1:33Speaker 3: sometimes I'll packed dried.
- 1:36Speaker 1: That is not a problem in Japan.
- 1:38Speaker 5: Lots of lots of fresh fruits and vegetables and stands everywhere.
- 1:42Speaker 1: Here's what I do.
- 1:43Speaker 2: When I'm traveling and I you know, you might run
- 1:45Speaker 2: into places where you they're not there's not enough fresh
- 1:48Speaker 2: fruit or vegetables. I always make sure that I have
- 1:51Speaker 2: a bunch I guess you call it a bunch of
- 1:54Speaker 2: celery in my back in my in my backpack, so
- 1:58Speaker 2: you know, like there's like twelve or fifteen soft celery there.
- 2:02Speaker 1: You know, you just.
- 2:04Speaker 3: Munch on them while you're while you're walking around. I
- 2:06Speaker 3: think that's great, But can I.
- 2:08Speaker 1: Prove it back to what you were saying laying it?
- 2:10Speaker 4: So do dried fruits and veggies. That counts if you
- 2:14Speaker 4: can't find anything else.
- 2:17Speaker 3: Yes, it absolutely counts. I am I am a fan
- 2:19Speaker 3: of convenience foods. I know that you know they might
- 2:22Speaker 3: not be as rich in a lot of the nutrients
- 2:25Speaker 3: that we're seeking, but they do still have nutrients fiber,
- 2:30Speaker 3: things like that.
- 2:31Speaker 2: Yeah, I'm waiting for the day somebody freeze dry celery.
- 2:37Speaker 3: I will keep an eye out if I ever see it.
- 2:39Speaker 3: I'm gonna I'm gonna let you know, all right, I
- 2:41Speaker 3: like celery.
- 2:42Speaker 1: What's next? What's next?
- 2:45Speaker 3: Next is to try to disconnect. And by this I
- 2:50Speaker 3: mean see if you can leave work and home tasks behind.
- 2:56Speaker 3: Try and try and avoid checking your email, ells and
- 3:00Speaker 3: things like.
- 3:01Speaker 5: That can be This is one thing that Gina does
- 3:04Speaker 5: not have a problem with when she tries checking out checking.
- 3:07Speaker 1: Out, we get we have a hard time getting her
- 3:10Speaker 1: to check in when she's here. She's about twenty minutes
- 3:13Speaker 1: away from checking out.
- 3:17Speaker 3: Oh goodness.
- 3:20Speaker 1: Next.
- 3:21Speaker 3: My next recommendation is to practice saying no. And this
- 3:28Speaker 3: just means that we can be a little bit picky
- 3:30Speaker 3: about the things that we do when we're traveling. We
- 3:32Speaker 3: don't have to go and see every single site or
- 3:35Speaker 3: visit every single person. Try your best to choose just
- 3:39Speaker 3: a few special experiences and just let yourself really enjoy them.
- 3:45Speaker 1: I think that's excellent advice. What's next.
- 3:48Speaker 3: I'm not great at it.
- 3:50Speaker 1: You're not great at saying no.
- 3:51Speaker 3: No, no. I want to do everything all of the time.
- 3:55Speaker 3: It's a problem for me. It's the next recommendation is
- 4:00Speaker 3: to pack a few self care items, and this will
- 4:04Speaker 3: look a little bit different for everybody. For me, I
- 4:08Speaker 3: always have my reusable water bottle that I can refill
- 4:12Speaker 3: and carry around with me. I also always pack exercise clothes.
- 4:16Speaker 3: Some folks might use ear plugs or a mask to
- 4:20Speaker 3: sleep on the airplane. Maybe your favorite book, whatever it
- 4:24Speaker 3: is that just allows you to kind of take care
- 4:27Speaker 3: of yourself while you're on the road.
- 4:28Speaker 1: Well, with me, it's that big bunt, that stock of celery.
- 4:31Speaker 3: That's it's probably easier to carry around for sure.
- 4:35Speaker 1: It's your emotional it's support cellary. Yes uh, and it's
- 4:42Speaker 1: a remarkable how long it'll keep.
- 4:44Speaker 3: Too, But yeah, yeah, amazing. Have you had the same
- 4:48Speaker 3: one for years now?
- 4:50Speaker 2: No, I get a new one every time. Don't be silly.
- 4:53Speaker 2: I get a new bunch of celery whenever I travel.
- 4:56Speaker 4: I never take a water bottle, and I know a
- 5:00Speaker 4: lot of people do, because in my mind, while I'm traveling,
- 5:04Speaker 4: I can't properly clean it.
- 5:06Speaker 1: So after after a day or two, Why are you,
- 5:11Speaker 1: sighing at me. It's because it's because with you, it's
- 5:13Speaker 1: always something. It's always something.
- 5:17Speaker 5: You're staying in an airbnb, right, Yeah, they will have
- 5:19Speaker 5: a kitchen, okay, but not but not always.
- 5:22Speaker 4: I'm just saying, just tho, it's not always obvious place
- 5:25Speaker 4: to clean. It's an issue for me.
- 5:28Speaker 1: What is it is?
- 5:29Speaker 3: Totally fair, thank you.
- 5:35Speaker 2: It's always an issue about something. Sorry, it's all right,
- 5:41Speaker 2: It's all right. So travel can be stressful, that's for sure.
- 5:46Speaker 2: But if you want to learn more about how to
- 5:48Speaker 2: take some of the stress out of it, where should
- 5:50Speaker 2: we go?
- 5:50Speaker 1: At Lena.
- 5:52Speaker 3: You can learn more about this as well as nightingales
- 5:54Speaker 3: amazing programs by visiting Nightingales Eat.
