- 0:06Speaker 1: DJ Sam Brock. Sowinnerswithaz.org and live.sowinnerswithaz.org. So the two highly
- 0:14Speaker 1: recommended go-to websites that I recommend for these Morning Devos.
- 0:18Speaker 1: But of course, we're on the social media platforms, on
- 0:21Speaker 1: our YouTube page as well, and all the other places
- 0:24Speaker 1: that allow the stream to go through. So thank you
- 0:25Speaker 1: so much for hanging out with me today on The
- 0:28Speaker 1: Morning Devo. I try to do these weekdays, 5.30 a.m.
- 0:31Speaker 1: Eastern Standard Time, where we just focus on faith and
- 0:35Speaker 1: purpose one morning at a time, right? One day at
- 0:40Speaker 1: a time, one morning at a time. So let's go
- 0:43Speaker 1: for it. We're going to pray first. Today, we're talking
- 0:46Speaker 1: about destroyed the power of death. Now, who do you
- 0:51Speaker 1: think destroyed the power of death? We're going to be
- 0:54Speaker 1: in Hebrews chapter 2, verse number 14 in the book
- 0:58Speaker 1: of Hebrews. Chapter 2, verse number 14. If you have
- 1:02Speaker 1: any questions, comments, concerns, prayer requests, or anything along those lines,
- 1:07Speaker 1: please don't leave. Don't hesitate to leave it on the
- 1:10Speaker 1: live chat. Amen. And don't leave. That's right. And of course,
- 1:13Speaker 1: if you're on live, that's soulwitnesswithaz.org. And if you're on
- 1:16Speaker 1: the live chat there and I don't see it right away,
- 1:18Speaker 1: no worries, no problem. I'll get to you as soon
- 1:21Speaker 1: as I see your comment, question, concern, or prayer request.
- 1:24Speaker 1: So let's pray. Father, I thank you so much right
- 1:27Speaker 1: now for this opportunity, for this day, by every breath
- 1:30Speaker 1: that you've given us during the night. Thank you for
- 1:32Speaker 1: waking us up, giving us strength to our bones and
- 1:35Speaker 1: health to our body. I pray, Lord God, I had
- 1:37Speaker 1: your protection, that you would set forth your angels, that
- 1:40Speaker 1: the archangel and the angel that's assigned to all of
- 1:44Speaker 1: those who love you, Lord God, the angel of the
- 1:46Speaker 1: Lord that's assigned to us will be with us. And
- 1:49Speaker 1: we know we're in the presence of an angelic host
- 1:53Speaker 1: because we feel your presence. We sense your presence. We
- 1:56Speaker 1: know that your word is true. We know that you
- 1:58Speaker 1: are with us even to the end of the age.
- 2:00Speaker 1: And I pray, Lord God, that you will continue to
- 2:02Speaker 1: remind us of your grace, your mercy, and your power.
- 2:06Speaker 1: You are almighty God, wonderful counselor, and prince of peace.
- 2:09Speaker 1: And I pray forward, Lord God, your blessings over myself,
- 2:12Speaker 1: the protection of God over myself, my wife, our children,
- 2:15Speaker 1: our grandchildren. Today is one of my granddaughter's birthday. Jane,
- 2:20Speaker 1: I believe. Amen. Happy birthday to her. I pray a
- 2:24Speaker 1: blessing over her life. right now in Jesus' holy name.
- 2:26Speaker 1: And also, Lord God, I pray for every single person
- 2:28Speaker 1: that's listening or watching right now, Lord Jesus, that you
- 2:32Speaker 1: would guide, guard, and protect them as well, as you
- 2:35Speaker 1: do very well daily, and you are so graceful and
- 2:38Speaker 1: majestic at it. I pray this by faith, knowing that
- 2:41Speaker 1: you hear my prayer and you answer them according to
- 2:43Speaker 1: every single person that needs you, that needs a word
- 2:47Speaker 1: from you, that needs your love, grace, and mercy, and salvation.
- 2:50Speaker 1: In Jesus' holy name, I pray this by faith. And
- 2:53Speaker 1: all those who agree with me, we say amen. to
- 2:55Speaker 1: the amen. Let's go for it. Let's get into this word. Amen.
- 2:58Speaker 1: It's a lot here in such a small amount of time,
- 3:01Speaker 1: but I think we could do this, man. I try
- 3:03Speaker 1: my best to jump on these morning devos and just
- 3:07Speaker 1: allow the Lord to do what he does. Amen. The best.
- 3:10Speaker 1: He's an amazing God, awesome God at all his ways. Amen.
- 3:15Speaker 1: So faith, focus, purpose, one morning at a time is
- 3:18Speaker 1: what we do here on the morning devo. Hebrews chapter two,
- 3:21Speaker 1: verse number 14, the Bible says, Now, since the children
- 3:25Speaker 1: have flesh and blood, he too, speaking of Jesus, shared
- 3:30Speaker 1: in their humanity so that by his death, Jesus, he
- 3:35Speaker 1: might destroy him who holds the power of death. That
- 3:40Speaker 1: is the devil. So Jesus became like a man in
- 3:45Speaker 1: the form of man. Why? Because the children have flesh
- 3:49Speaker 1: and blood. So therefore he shared in humanity. Why? So
- 3:53Speaker 1: that by his death on the cross, he might destroy
- 3:57Speaker 1: the devil. The power of the devil's grip on death.
- 4:02Speaker 1: So that's why Jesus said, I give you eternal life.
- 4:05Speaker 1: Because he has the keys to life and death, actually.
- 4:10Speaker 1: And he conquered, destroyed, annihilated the devil on that cross. Why?
- 4:16Speaker 1: Because three days later, he rose again, proving to the
- 4:19Speaker 1: whole entire universe that he is God. And he is almighty,
- 4:25Speaker 1: that he is powerful in all his ways. Amen. So
- 4:27Speaker 1: this right here is a go-to for me when people
- 4:31Speaker 1: say that Jesus is not God. This is one of
- 4:33Speaker 1: my go-tos. Amen. He is exactly who the prophets say
- 4:37Speaker 1: he was. He is the one that they prophesied the
- 4:40Speaker 1: Messiah to come. He conquered sin and death, destroyed the
- 4:45Speaker 1: works of the devil. Amen. And this is the scripture
- 4:48Speaker 1: that proves it. One of the scriptures that prove that, right?
- 4:51Speaker 1: So death entered into this world, right? We know that
- 4:55Speaker 1: people pass away. I just spoke to a young lady,
- 4:58Speaker 1: friend of mine at the restaurant. She said her grandmother
- 5:00Speaker 1: just passed away. There was two deaths in her family.
- 5:02Speaker 1: I forget who. I think it was her aunt and
- 5:04Speaker 1: her grandmother. And it's like hard, like death. It's not
- 5:09Speaker 1: supposed to be. That's why we all feel a certain
- 5:11Speaker 1: way when someone passes away. Because deep down inside, we
- 5:14Speaker 1: know that's not supposed to be. Death entered the world
- 5:18Speaker 1: through what? Through sin. Bringing fear. separation, and hopelessness. That's right.
- 5:26Speaker 1: Without God, there is no hope. Without Jesus, there is
- 5:28Speaker 1: no salvation. Without the Father proving to us that He
- 5:34Speaker 1: loved us so much that He sent His only begotten Son,
- 5:37Speaker 1: we would not be saved right now. But Jesus stepped
- 5:42Speaker 1: into our humanity. He didn't have to. He did it
- 5:45Speaker 1: because He was a loving God. He is a loving God.
- 5:49Speaker 1: He became flesh and blood and And willingly gave his life.
- 5:53Speaker 1: No one took the Lord's life. He wasn't really murdered, right?
- 5:57Speaker 1: He laid down his life so that we could have
- 6:01Speaker 1: eternal life. Willingly gave his life on the cross, right?
- 6:05Speaker 1: To fulfill the prophecy, he laid down his life. No
- 6:09Speaker 1: one took the life of the Lord Jesus Christ by force.
- 6:12Speaker 1: He willingly laid down his life. So Jesus didn't come
- 6:16Speaker 1: just to simply make us feel better. And he does
- 6:20Speaker 1: make you feel better, make me feel better when his
- 6:22Speaker 1: presence is there. But he came to defeat the power
- 6:28Speaker 1: of death. So although we have hope now, when someone
- 6:32Speaker 1: passes away in our family, we have hope that we
- 6:34Speaker 1: will see that person again if they were born again. Now,
- 6:38Speaker 1: it's questionable, right? When someone dies and claims to be
- 6:42Speaker 1: a believer but never lived their life as a believer
- 6:45Speaker 1: of the Lord Jesus Christ, then it's questionable, right? But
- 6:48Speaker 1: that's between the Lord and that soul and that person. Amen.
- 6:52Speaker 1: So I could only hope for the best when people
- 6:54Speaker 1: that I know pass away and they never proclaim the
- 6:57Speaker 1: Lord Jesus Christ, never made a declaration, never said they
- 7:00Speaker 1: were born again, never went to church, never, you know,
- 7:03Speaker 1: was in the body, you know, surrounding themselves with the
- 7:06Speaker 1: body of Christ, never was in a fellowship. You know,
- 7:09Speaker 1: that's questionable. But again, that's between them and the Lord.
- 7:12Speaker 1: Who am I to judge, right? So when the Lord
- 7:16Speaker 1: Jesus died, He didn't stay dead. We know that he's
- 7:19Speaker 1: a resurrected living God. Through his death and resurrection, Christ
- 7:25Speaker 1: broke the devil's authority and opened the way to eternal life.
- 7:30Speaker 1: So it seems like the devil has some authority on
- 7:32Speaker 1: death because it says here, by his death, he might
- 7:37Speaker 1: destroy him who holds the power of death. That is
- 7:41Speaker 1: the devil. So if the devil held the power of death,
- 7:45Speaker 1: Jesus defeated the devil. So therefore, who has the power
- 7:49Speaker 1: over death and life now? Christ Jesus broke the devil's
- 7:53Speaker 1: authority and opened the way to eternal life. The devil
- 7:58Speaker 1: may try to use fear. Very big tactic, especially in
- 8:02Speaker 1: the month of October. The devil would try to use
- 8:05Speaker 1: fear to control us. But fear doesn't have the final word.
- 8:11Speaker 1: Jesus has the final word because he is the living
- 8:14Speaker 1: word of God. He is the finality of the scriptures.
- 8:18Speaker 1: He is the salvation of Jehovah. He is the completion
- 8:23Speaker 1: of Jehovah. Amen? Of God, Yahweh. Because of this fact, right?
- 8:31Speaker 1: It's not just like hopeful, wishful thinking. This is a fact.
- 8:36Speaker 1: Because Christ conquered death, we don't have to live as
- 8:41Speaker 1: prisoners of fear any longer. We don't have to worry about, man,
- 8:44Speaker 1: what if What if this happens to me? What if
- 8:47Speaker 1: that happens to me? What if I die? What if
- 8:49Speaker 1: I crash? What if I get into an airplane situation?
- 8:53Speaker 1: We don't really have to worry about those things anymore
- 8:56Speaker 1: when you're in Christ. Because I'm like, listen, to live
- 8:59Speaker 1: is Christ, to die is gain, right? So, you know,
- 9:04Speaker 1: I have these scenarios in my mind, in my head
- 9:07Speaker 1: that I really won't share too much about. But these
- 9:09Speaker 1: scenarios are basically like this. Somebody says they're going to
- 9:12Speaker 1: take me out. The first thing I'm going to say,
- 9:16Speaker 1: if God allows you to do so, go ahead. Because
- 9:18Speaker 1: I know I'm guided, guarded, and protected by the Lord Jesus, right?
- 9:22Speaker 1: But if he allows someone or something to take me out,
- 9:26Speaker 1: then it was because he has a bigger plan and
- 9:28Speaker 1: his purpose is way beyond me. And to live is
- 9:32Speaker 1: Christ and to die is gain. So, you know, either way,
- 9:38Speaker 1: the children of God win, right? Family members who don't
- 9:43Speaker 1: understand this, Or people who are unsaved that don't understand this,
- 9:46Speaker 1: friends that don't understand this, they'll be like, oh man,
- 9:48Speaker 1: that's horrible. While I'm up in heaven looking at everything like, wow,
- 9:52Speaker 1: this is amazing. This is beautiful. This is powerful. This
- 9:56Speaker 1: is amazing. Right? So we have a hope in Christ
- 10:01Speaker 1: because of what he conquered and how he conquered the
- 10:03Speaker 1: devil and conquered death and sin. We have a hope
- 10:07Speaker 1: that's unusual. We're peculiar people, the Bible says. We think
- 10:11Speaker 1: a little different than normal humanity, right? We don't think
- 10:16Speaker 1: we're better. We know that we're saved. We don't think
- 10:19Speaker 1: we're better. We know that we're forgiven. We don't think
- 10:21Speaker 1: we're better. We know that there's a Savior who lives.
- 10:23Speaker 1: We don't move like we think we're better. We just
- 10:27Speaker 1: move according to Holy Spirit God who leads us into
- 10:30Speaker 1: all truth. Therefore, there should be a difference in your
- 10:33Speaker 1: life and in my life when we claim the Lord
- 10:35Speaker 1: Jesus Christ. There should be a difference no matter what.
- 10:41Speaker 1: Through his death and resurrection, Christ broke the devil's authority.
- 10:46Speaker 1: He beat the devil when the devil thought he had Jesus.
- 10:52Speaker 1: Wiped out. Actually, all through that whole scenario, when Jesus
- 10:56Speaker 1: was on his way to the cross, it seems like
- 10:58Speaker 1: the devil didn't even know exactly who this Jesus was.
- 11:01Speaker 1: Was this Jesus the true Messiah? Was he the son
- 11:05Speaker 1: of the living God? Either he knew, or he was
- 11:09Speaker 1: just like, he's not going to go. He's not going
- 11:11Speaker 1: to go to the cross. He's not going to do it.
- 11:13Speaker 1: Because somehow, some way, he had people deceived, believing that
- 11:18Speaker 1: this Jesus was just the son of a carpenter, that
- 11:21Speaker 1: this Jesus was a false person, a false teacher, false preacher,
- 11:27Speaker 1: false prophet. He had people thinking that way, and yet
- 11:30Speaker 1: Jesus on his way to the cross kept on proving
- 11:33Speaker 1: to his followers and proving that he was on a mission,
- 11:37Speaker 1: a rescue mission, and kept on proving it even to
- 11:40Speaker 1: the day he died and rose again. Defeated the devil's
- 11:43Speaker 1: plans over your life and over my life, right? He
- 11:47Speaker 1: conquered death. You don't have to live as prisoners to
- 11:50Speaker 1: fear any longer. Death has been defeated. Repeat that. Death
- 11:57Speaker 1: has been defeated. Sin has been overcome. Right? Love, God,
- 12:04Speaker 1: covers a multitude of sins. Amen? And he eliminated the
- 12:10Speaker 1: sin debt. There is no sin debt for a believer
- 12:12Speaker 1: any longer. You're in Christ Jesus. You follow the Lord.
- 12:16Speaker 1: You don't have to carry the burden of the sin
- 12:18Speaker 1: debt on your shoulders any longer. Right? The grave lost
- 12:23Speaker 1: its sting, its victory. Death has no more sting on
- 12:26Speaker 1: a believer as a born again believer. Why? Because Jesus
- 12:30Speaker 1: is alive. There's a popular song, Forrest Frank, like 20,
- 12:35Speaker 1: 30 songs, I think it is, amen, with different artists
- 12:37Speaker 1: on there. It's Jesus is alive. Tremendous declaration that the
- 12:42Speaker 1: world is like, nah, there's no way. Listen, I don't
- 12:46Speaker 1: follow the world system. The world system, I'm in the world,
- 12:49Speaker 1: but I'm not of the world. And so are you.
- 12:51Speaker 1: You're in the world, but you're not of the world
- 12:53Speaker 1: if you're born again. We are part of the kingdom
- 12:55Speaker 1: of God. We are in the body of Christ, Jesus
- 12:58Speaker 1: Christ being the head. So go ahead and declare this
- 13:02Speaker 1: with me. Amen. Jesus destroyed the power of death. Go
- 13:06Speaker 1: ahead and say it because it's true. Jesus destroyed the
- 13:10Speaker 1: power of death. I will not live in fear any longer.
- 13:17Speaker 1: My life belongs to the living Christ and my hope
- 13:21Speaker 1: is found in the Lord Jesus. Amen. Something like that.
- 13:26Speaker 1: Declare that. Know that. Believe that. Read the scriptures that
- 13:30Speaker 1: prove this. Amen. Hebrews chapter 2, 14 is a tremendous
- 13:35Speaker 1: way of confirming that Jesus defeated the devil and over
- 13:41Speaker 1: sin and death. So, And the amazing part of this all, right?
- 13:47Speaker 1: We realize that if it wasn't for the Lord Jesus Christ,
- 13:50Speaker 1: then that means the devil will still have the power
- 13:54Speaker 1: of death. Right? He will still have that in his grips.
- 13:59Speaker 1: He will still have control over that. But guess what?
- 14:02Speaker 1: He no longer has control over death. Right? By the
- 14:09Speaker 1: Lord's death, Jesus' death, he destroyed everything. the devil's power
- 14:15Speaker 1: over death. Even though people claim to say, I follow
- 14:19Speaker 1: Satan and follow Lucifer or whatever, not realizing that they're
- 14:23Speaker 1: following a deceiver, a liar from the beginning, not realizing
- 14:27Speaker 1: that the devil hates them too, right? There's no love
- 14:30Speaker 1: in the devil. There's no truth in the devil. He
- 14:33Speaker 1: comes like a roaring lion seeking who he may devour.
- 14:38Speaker 1: He could even transform himself into an angel of light
- 14:41Speaker 1: and present himself as the good guy, right? He's just
- 14:44Speaker 1: a liar and he lies from the beginning. He's still
- 14:46Speaker 1: a liar, but he's a defeated foe. He's a foe
- 14:50Speaker 1: to us. Don't get into a debate with him. Don't
- 14:53Speaker 1: follow him. Don't read his literature, nothing like that. But
- 14:56Speaker 1: if you're doing that because Halloween season or whatever, and
- 14:59Speaker 1: you feel like, ah, this is a perfect time for
- 15:01Speaker 1: me to investigate dark things and all that stuff, get ready.
- 15:04Speaker 1: You're going to be deceived. You're going to be lied to.
- 15:06Speaker 1: You're going to be manipulated. You're going to be tormented.
- 15:09Speaker 1: You're going to be having demonic experiences. possessed situations going
- 15:14Speaker 1: around around you. You're not going to have a good time.
- 15:17Speaker 1: You're going to be fearful. You're going to be angry.
- 15:20Speaker 1: You're going to be anxious. That's not what God wants
- 15:25Speaker 1: for our lives. The Spirit of God is bringing you
- 15:29Speaker 1: freedom and liberty. Where the Spirit of the Lord is,
- 15:32Speaker 1: there is freedom and liberty. We also know that the
- 15:37Speaker 1: scriptures keep on reminding us We have to be in
- 15:40Speaker 1: the word every day. I have to be in the
- 15:41Speaker 1: word every day. If not, my flesh could be like, oh,
- 15:44Speaker 1: he didn't read the word today. He didn't listen to
- 15:46Speaker 1: the word today. He wasn't engaged. So let me try X, Y,
- 15:50Speaker 1: Z in his life right now. Relentless enemy. The worst
- 15:55Speaker 1: enemy I could ever have and you could ever have
- 15:57Speaker 1: is our own sinful flesh. If the devil's defeated, he's
- 16:02Speaker 1: not really the arch enemy no more of our lives.
- 16:05Speaker 1: The Lord Jesus handled that. I'm just saying, that the
- 16:09Speaker 1: flesh is relentless. The flesh gives us really no opportunity
- 16:13Speaker 1: to sleep on it, right? Don't sleep on the flesh.
- 16:18Speaker 1: The flesh has its own purpose and will. The flesh
- 16:21Speaker 1: wants to do whatever the flesh wants to do, right?
- 16:27Speaker 1: What else? If it tastes good, feels good, smells good,
- 16:30Speaker 1: go ahead and do it. Do all you can, can
- 16:33Speaker 1: all you get. That type of attitude is from the flesh.
- 16:38Speaker 1: Fear is not the spirit of the Lord, but fear
- 16:40Speaker 1: is huge. And the enemy uses this fear to make
- 16:43Speaker 1: you believe that when you die, that's it. There's nothing.
- 16:47Speaker 1: No heaven, no hell. You're just done, right? I've heard
- 16:51Speaker 1: people out of their own mouth say, intelligent people say
- 16:53Speaker 1: that too. Ask them, what happens after death? Nothing. You
- 16:58Speaker 1: just cease to exist. Smart people say that. No hope,
- 17:01Speaker 1: no nothing. There is no heaven, no hell. That's what
- 17:04Speaker 1: people say. I don't agree with that. but I'm just
- 17:07Speaker 1: repeating what I've heard people tell me right in my face.
- 17:10Speaker 1: There is no heaven, there is no hell. God is
- 17:12Speaker 1: a man-made construction, whatever construct, right? The Bible has some
- 17:17Speaker 1: truth in it. That's what people say. These are smart people,
- 17:21Speaker 1: intelligent people, proving to me that it's not that they
- 17:26Speaker 1: are not smart enough to believe, it's that they refuse
- 17:30Speaker 1: to believe in the tremendous amount of historical facts biblical facts,
- 17:35Speaker 1: prophecies fulfilled, right? Archaeological finds, all kinds of stuff that
- 17:40Speaker 1: the scripture confirms, that the word of God confirms all
- 17:44Speaker 1: throughout history. And they refuse to look at that as evidence.
- 17:48Speaker 1: They refuse to take the scriptures for what the scripture
- 17:51Speaker 1: really is, inspired word of God, right? The Bible, if
- 17:57Speaker 1: it's not inspired, then it will not prove anything about
- 18:00Speaker 1: the Lord Jesus Christ, about prophecy, about the father. Yahweh,
- 18:04Speaker 1: about Holy Spirit, Huach Elohim. It won't have any information
- 18:08Speaker 1: on that. And if it was a man-made religion, then
- 18:11Speaker 1: man will be the final authority in the scriptures. And
- 18:14Speaker 1: we know that's not true either. If it was a
- 18:17Speaker 1: white man's religion, then you will find riddled all over
- 18:20Speaker 1: the scriptures, European people. But you won't find that in
- 18:23Speaker 1: the scriptures either. Not riddled with it. So many things
- 18:28Speaker 1: that people are claiming that the scriptures are all about,
- 18:32Speaker 1: Sadly to say, they're wrong because they themselves never read
- 18:36Speaker 1: the scriptures. And if they did read the scriptures, they
- 18:39Speaker 1: read the Lord's word uninspired. And when you read something uninspired,
- 18:43Speaker 1: when you read something that the Lord wrote uninspired, you
- 18:46Speaker 1: will not understand the spirit behind who wrote what you're reading. Amen?
- 18:52Speaker 1: Uninspired reading of the scripture is really helpful to a
- 18:58Speaker 1: certain point. But for understanding, you won't get it. You
- 19:02Speaker 1: could apply any principle from the scripture in your life
- 19:04Speaker 1: right now, and it will work. Why? Not because you're
- 19:07Speaker 1: reading it and you're doing something about it. It's because
- 19:10Speaker 1: God's word is true no matter what. Whether you believe
- 19:13Speaker 1: in him or not, whether I believe in him or not,
- 19:15Speaker 1: his word is still true. So Hebrews 2, 14 shows
- 19:21Speaker 1: us the tremendous fact that Jesus, right, because he wanted
- 19:28Speaker 1: to become like us, well, He didn't need to, but
- 19:32Speaker 1: he figured it all out because he's all-knowing. He said,
- 19:34Speaker 1: I sent my prophets. They didn't believe my prophets. So
- 19:38Speaker 1: let me come in the form of a man named Jesus,
- 19:41Speaker 1: the Messiah, the Savior, to show them the way, show
- 19:45Speaker 1: them the truth, and show them the life. To be
- 19:48Speaker 1: the perfect example. of who God is on this earth.
- 19:55Speaker 1: The children have flesh and blood, meaning us, right? God's creation.
- 20:01Speaker 1: For those who are born again, Jesus Christ gives us
- 20:05Speaker 1: the right to be called children of God. If you're
- 20:07Speaker 1: not born again, if you don't know the Lord, you're
- 20:09Speaker 1: creating an image of God, right? But you're not a
- 20:12Speaker 1: child of God. There's a difference, right? The creation is God's.
- 20:18Speaker 1: But then when you're adopted into his family, right? That's
- 20:22Speaker 1: a difference. There's a difference there. So the Lord said,
- 20:25Speaker 1: I'm going to share in this humanity with the creation,
- 20:29Speaker 1: with mankind. So that way nobody could say that he was,
- 20:33Speaker 1: he doesn't understand us. No one could say he was
- 20:35Speaker 1: never tempted. Jesus said, The manhood of Jesus was tempted,
- 20:40Speaker 1: not the deity of God was tempted. God cannot be tempted.
- 20:44Speaker 1: But we see in the scriptures after Jesus was baptized, right?
- 20:49Speaker 1: You see it in the scriptures. And then God spoke
- 20:52Speaker 1: over the Lord Jesus. Then you see right away, it
- 20:55Speaker 1: seems like he was in a wilderness being tempted by
- 20:58Speaker 1: the devil himself. And people say, oh, you see, if
- 21:01Speaker 1: Jesus was God, how could he be tempted? Now understanding
- 21:04Speaker 1: that the man Jesus was tempted, not the deity, Because
- 21:08Speaker 1: if you read the scriptures about the temptation of the
- 21:11Speaker 1: Lord Jesus Christ, Jesus was always reverting back to the scriptures, amen,
- 21:16Speaker 1: to the word of God, telling the devil, no, you're wrong.
- 21:19Speaker 1: The word of God says, boom, and that he would
- 21:21Speaker 1: declare the word of God. So therefore, the word of God, right,
- 21:26Speaker 1: was true through and through. The deity of the Lord
- 21:30Speaker 1: Jesus was not being tempted because the devil thought he had,
- 21:35Speaker 1: remember he said, look at this, this is all mine.
- 21:38Speaker 1: Even though the devil's a liar. But he was trying
- 21:41Speaker 1: to tell Jesus, all of this belongs to me. He says,
- 21:43Speaker 1: I could give it to you or share with you.
- 21:46Speaker 1: Whatever he said, you got to read the scriptures for yourself.
- 21:48Speaker 1: But Jesus said, ain't nothing that you have that's yours.
- 21:52Speaker 1: Everything belongs to him. Basically, read the word. That's what
- 21:56Speaker 1: Jesus was saying. The word of God says this. So
- 22:00Speaker 1: he shared in our humanity, was tempted in all ways,
- 22:03Speaker 1: yet he himself did not sin. He provides us a
- 22:06Speaker 1: way out. of temptation as well. He provides a way
- 22:10Speaker 1: of escape. So that by his death, he might destroy
- 22:15Speaker 1: the devil. The devil's hold on death. The devil's authority
- 22:20Speaker 1: over death. Right? And because of that, the enemy is scrambling.
- 22:24Speaker 1: The enemy wants to do more damage than ever before
- 22:28Speaker 1: because he knows his time is very limited. So he's trying.
- 22:31Speaker 1: And he shows, he pops up in October, in my opinion,
- 22:35Speaker 1: at least in the United States, more than usual, right?
- 22:39Speaker 1: His ideas, fear tactics, horror movies, people going to the
- 22:45Speaker 1: mountain right now, praying against God's people, you know, trying
- 22:48Speaker 1: to connect with spirits and dead people, right? Performing spells
- 22:53Speaker 1: and ceremonies, witchcraft and all that. That's all real. How
- 22:59Speaker 1: do I know? Because the scriptures says it's real. We're
- 23:02Speaker 1: supposed to stay away from all that. According to the
- 23:04Speaker 1: old covenant, right? Stay away from soothsayers, stay away from psychics,
- 23:09Speaker 1: people who do voodoo, witchcraft, all kind of stuff. It
- 23:12Speaker 1: says stay away from those people. If God is telling
- 23:14Speaker 1: us to stay away from those type of people, that
- 23:16Speaker 1: means those type of people exist and those type of
- 23:18Speaker 1: things exist. But he wants us to stay away from it. Now,
- 23:22Speaker 1: when it comes to the battle against it, like I
- 23:25Speaker 1: come against every spiritual witchcraft right now, in Jesus' holy name,
- 23:29Speaker 1: over my life, my family, stay away, stay out, stay,
- 23:33Speaker 1: you know, stay in your lane, right? That type of
- 23:37Speaker 1: thing in Jesus' name, those things are real as well.
- 23:40Speaker 1: We need to come against the darkness, the dark deeds
- 23:43Speaker 1: of the enemy's people, right? Good morning, Sister Joanne. I
- 23:46Speaker 1: see you. Good morning. God bless you. Welcome back to
- 23:48Speaker 1: the Morning Devo. My sister, my friends, good to see you.
- 23:51Speaker 1: So Ephesians chapter 2, 14 tells us and reminds us
- 23:55Speaker 1: about the glory of God, his power over the devil.
- 23:59Speaker 1: He defeated the devil and You have to remind yourself
- 24:02Speaker 1: every single time when the enemy acts up in your
- 24:04Speaker 1: life and in your family and in your finances and
- 24:07Speaker 1: in your relationships and in your health, remind the devil
- 24:10Speaker 1: you're defeated already. So I'm going to go to the
- 24:13Speaker 1: one who has the victory. The Lord Jesus Christ has
- 24:16Speaker 1: the victory over my health, over my sanity, over my relationships,
- 24:20Speaker 1: over my finances, over every single thing that the devil
- 24:23Speaker 1: is trying to tell me and tell you that would
- 24:26Speaker 1: never happen. The Lord has the final word, not the devil.
- 24:30Speaker 1: not fear, not the spirit of fear, the spirit, Ruach Elohim,
- 24:34Speaker 1: the spirit of God, Holy Spirit God has the final
- 24:37Speaker 1: word and all the outcomes belong to the Lord. Amen.
- 24:43Speaker 1: Day by day, you get to learn that. I'm learning
- 24:45Speaker 1: that day by day. Amen. Every day I wake up,
- 24:48Speaker 1: I'm like, wow, I'm still here. Amen. Let's make every
- 24:51Speaker 1: day that we're here count. Make it useful. Make ourselves
- 24:54Speaker 1: useful for the kingdom and glory of God, right? Tell
- 24:58Speaker 1: somebody about the Lord Jesus. Tell somebody that the devil
- 25:01Speaker 1: was defeated by the Lord Jesus. Tell somebody that there's
- 25:03Speaker 1: eternal life found in the name of Jesus. Tell somebody
- 25:07Speaker 1: right now that they could get into a personal relationship
- 25:10Speaker 1: with the living, loving, holy, righteous God through the Lord Jesus.
- 25:14Speaker 1: Because Jesus said, you can't get to the Father unless
- 25:17Speaker 1: you go through me. Amen? That's a pleasing thing. That's
- 25:21Speaker 1: an amazing thing. Jesus is so approachable, right? He's the
- 25:24Speaker 1: King of kings and Lord of lords, yet he is
- 25:26Speaker 1: mindful of me and mindful of you. That, to me,
- 25:29Speaker 1: is next level amazing, that God would be mindful of us.
- 25:34Speaker 1: He's not too busy to hear your prayers, right? He's
- 25:37Speaker 1: not too busy for you to call on his name.
- 25:40Speaker 1: He's not too busy to save. He's not too busy
- 25:42Speaker 1: to perform miracles. He's not too busy to perform works
- 25:46Speaker 1: and wonders in your life and in my life. He's
- 25:48Speaker 1: God Almighty. I don't know how he does it, but
- 25:51Speaker 1: he can hear all our prayers all around the world,
- 25:54Speaker 1: respond to every single person individually, right? Individually, not generically. Right?
- 26:01Speaker 1: When you feel the presence of the Lord, somebody from Africa,
- 26:04Speaker 1: somebody in Australia, somebody in China, somebody in Mexico will
- 26:08Speaker 1: feel the presence of the Lord as well because he's omnipresent.
- 26:12Speaker 1: He's all-knowing. He's almighty. Right? He's all of that because
- 26:18Speaker 1: God the Father, God the Son, God the Spirit, all
- 26:22Speaker 1: three are one. You can't separate any of the triunity
- 26:28Speaker 1: of God. You can't separate Some religions are trying to
- 26:31Speaker 1: separate the three. Amen. But God cannot be separated by
- 26:36Speaker 1: man or religion or tradition. God is king over his throne,
- 26:42Speaker 1: on his throne. Amen. And he's able to perform his
- 26:45Speaker 1: word over all our lives. So I hope you enjoyed
- 26:48Speaker 1: this morning, Devo. I hope you're inspired. I hope your
- 26:51Speaker 1: faith increases. I hope you stay focused on the purpose
- 26:55Speaker 1: that God has for you one morning at a time.
- 26:57Speaker 1: So be encouraged. I hope you're being transformed by the
- 27:01Speaker 1: renewing of your mind through the Word of God. Read
- 27:03Speaker 1: the Word. Apply the Word. Read the Word. Apply the Word.
- 27:07Speaker 1: Keep on doing those things and you're going to see
- 27:09Speaker 1: tremendous works and wonders in your life. You're going to
- 27:12Speaker 1: see that God is exactly who He says He is.
- 27:16Speaker 1: You're going to see His tremendous amount of grace over
- 27:20Speaker 1: your life. You're going to see His consistency, the consistency
- 27:23Speaker 1: of Christ, the consistency and power of His Word. Amen?
- 27:27Speaker 1: Consistency is God's thing. He's so consistent that his word,
- 27:34Speaker 1: his power, his authority never diminishes. His word is always true.
- 27:38Speaker 1: There's not one point in your life and in my
- 27:40Speaker 1: life that he has failed us. Because he has victory
- 27:42Speaker 1: over death, victory over the devil, victory in all ways.
- 27:47Speaker 1: Brother John, I see you. Good morning. God bless. Praying
- 27:49Speaker 1: for a blessed day for everyone. Thank you for your
- 27:51Speaker 1: prayer for a blessed day. I pray a blessing over
- 27:54Speaker 1: you for today as well. Amen. Thank you for coming
- 27:57Speaker 1: and thank you for your comments. So I'm out of time,
- 28:00Speaker 1: ladies and gentlemen, but listen, this is a great word
- 28:03Speaker 1: for us to meditate on. Hebrews chapter 2, verse number 14.
- 28:07Speaker 1: I suggest you read Hebrews chapter 2, the whole chapter, amen,
- 28:11Speaker 1: for the full context of what the Lord is saying.
- 28:14Speaker 1: I'm just taking snapshots. The whole idea is to take
- 28:18Speaker 1: a book at a time, right, and go through each chapter,
- 28:20Speaker 1: extract some scriptures, and do morning devos on it, man.
- 28:24Speaker 1: I think this is helping me out tremendously. I hope
- 28:27Speaker 1: it's helping you out, amen. It's the word that really
- 28:30Speaker 1: does the work. It's the word that really makes things
- 28:33Speaker 1: matter on these morning devos. Really nothing that I'm doing
- 28:37Speaker 1: is everything about what he's doing. Amen. I'm just making
- 28:39Speaker 1: myself available. You can make yourself available too to someone
- 28:42Speaker 1: right now. So I'm out of time, but listen, God
- 28:45Speaker 1: bless you. Thank you so much again for hanging out
- 28:47Speaker 1: with me. It's always a pleasure. There's always a good
- 28:51Speaker 1: time when we get together, right? God bless you all.
- 28:54Speaker 1: God keep you all. And remember always that God is good. Peace.
