- 16: Welcome back to another episode of the Pact Twelve, your favorite podcast for all things Packed Twelve and more. I'm Salmon Nash. To my left as usual, Brett Beerman, and to my right I got Kaden Besson. It's October twenty fifth, Sunday. We'll be recording this one almost near that Halloween time. Almost near C V B time. We'll get to that one in a second. But first, how we doing today, guys? Well, Michigan lost, the forty niners lost. Texas State had a squeaked out a a a win. It was a it was an alright weekend. Yeah, I've been staying up too late, so I lucky woke up at noon today. Dang. Is that crazy? No man. Just in time for NFL, bro. Just in time for NFL, you put on a red zone, then you just fall back asleep again. That's exactly what happened. I didn't get out of bed till two. Bang. That just shows it's a lazy day. It's a sunday. But we work. The work gets put in regardless. That's what I'm saying. Like forty forty hours a week, by the way. And we still got a C of B to talk about, so we're just gonna Kind dive right into that in a second. Before we do that, quick little housekeeping. If you're watching on YouTube, a good chunk of y'all are not subscribed. So make sure you hit that subscribe button. We just hit a hundred and want to get to even higher. Wanna get to at least one fifty by before the year ends. I feel like that's a pretty good goal. I think that's reasonable. So we'll see. Let's see. Let's if we can hit that number. Also drop a like and comment down this video. Just let us know what you think, man. Well, you feel I'm excited to get the college basketball commenters in our Dude, they're gonna be a whole lot Just wait, bro. Stay tuned though. Just wait. Should be a great time. And now with that, we're gonna talk about some things that happened over the week. Not too much, but the main talking point, as you've probably already heard, if you have kept up with Pac twelve, is that Jesse Legree mid season re signing, he has decided he will keep his talents in Corvallis and has inked a new deal before the game to that was played this week. But Just to agree, just shuts down all of the transfer talk. And that should already shut down the Braden Atkinson, Jamarcus Shepherd stuff as well, I think. If that guy is staying, there's no doubt that there's already word that Atkinson and Shepherd are both gonna stay. And I why not? Right? You already have something so good there. Why why potentially leave that even if it's for a little bit more money? I think that is a fantastic move. In this world of college football though, We're excited about a guy announcing that he's staying at the school he's already at. So that was like that's I guess that's just the new world we live in, but happy to see it. But when you think about what Jesse said about it, he said, Yeah, I I did this right now, so that way it helps us and the transfer portal. People want s want to come play with us and just bring more to Oregon State. I don't think it was a bad thing at all. I think it was the right thing to do 'cause it also shuts out that transfer noise. Like no one's gonna be talking about it. Now it's like, wow, Oregon State is gonna be also pretty damn good next year, too, when they have Atkinson, Legree and Shepard again. So I like to see that they're buying into where that they are. And I think for Jesse that was the big deal is because it was really his only offer, I believe. Or he was flipped across the country. I don't ever know where he was committed to originally. no he's from Baltimore. Yeah, that's just my bad for not knowing where he was originally committed to. But the the fact that he knew that Shepard is the one who wanted him, who bought into him and believed him and believed in him and then he said, Yeah, I'm gonna write it out with a guy that believes in me and that has put his work into me. Don't forget Jamarcus Shepherd did nothing but develop really good receivers, right? He was at Alabama, he was at Washington when they had Odunze. so he's kinda known for what he's been able to do with receivers. I saw a quote that was really cool. I think it was this week. Shepard was talking about our yards and your yards. He's like our yards or when you get open on that f five yard slant and you catch that ball five yards down the field, those are our yards and then your yards are when you make your plays and why we brought you here is is to make moves after the catch, avoid, you know, slip out of tackles. That's what Jesse Legree does well. And so yeah, I think he's developed Jesse amazingly. I think he's the best receiver in college football, Chimera Jeremiah Smith, like, you know, one of one talent thousand percent. But what LeGree's doing as a true freshman, like I think it's even better of a thing and it just makes me like him more. Yeah, no, I love that our yards versus your yards. That's a very good way to separate the yak and stuff. Yeah. But like you said, that's just all he does is develop receiver. So I'm just to see what a year two Jessica even does. I mean you're guaranteed at least two more now if he eats another deal. Only one FBS offer out of high school Oregon State. So Okay. Yeah, because what's it called? You sound like a real he was hooping in high school. So it's not even who knews he even plays football. There's a bunch guys who are just dual sport athletes. If he doesn't make that that switch to receiver, who knows where we're at right now. I also did see this is another thing I saw. people were saying they didn't like how his dad handled it. I don't really know what was going on. I think I do follow his dad on Twitter, but people were saying get him on. people were saying that he did this on purpose just to up the offers from other schools mid season right now. I don't think that's gonna happen. I think He's gonna be a loyal guy because I love Coach Shep and I haven't even met him. I can't imagine how much Jesse Legree loves a wide receiver guru as his head coach. I I imagine he loves him even more than I do. So I think Jesse's safe in Corvallis for the next year and awesome. I I don't think there's any question about what Brayden Atkinson's gonna do either. So I'm surprised there wasn't any talk about him either. Yeah. He him not having to say anything. He's pretty quiet. He is I like that though. He's he's you know, he'll stand in the pocket and He just sealed. He just slings it. Just a robot who can just has a robotic arm, dude. Can't ask for a better quarterback, especially. But yeah, that I think that mainly concludes all the housekeeping things. Not really gonna do the usual volleyball and soccer stuff as we are on a a little bit of a time crisis episode. So if you're waiting for that, sorry. But you get to just look it up, man. Yeah. Sorry. Yeah, just Google the stats. Just know Texas State sucks. In volleyball. In volleyball. Yeah. but I think we're just gonna hop straight into the action from this weekend then. First game of the slate was the biggest blowout of the evening, but it wasn't a blowout until the fourth quarter. Boise State taking on Washington State in Pullman. The Broncos get it done thirty one to ten and with that win they also move up in the top twenty A P. Pull for the first time this year. They are ranked twenty, but still a big accomplishment for the season and the Broncos just continue their train. Only loss is being Oregon in that. Lost does look worse, but their team only looks better every week. They've won six in a row now, man. They're six and one overall. Undefeated conference play, three and right there with the Beaves, so heck yeah. And now they moved up to twenty as of as of today, Sunday as we're recording. When does the committee join? when do we start? I feel like we're getting pretty close, right? It's either this week or next week. We're really close. I didn't even think we were getting an AP poll this week. But my bad I cut you. No, you're fine. No, I I was just gonna say regardless, Nate Nate and Ryan were on the call, wearing their parkas I saw while I was we were working the Texas State game. Nate was excited about that parka a month ago. He was. He was. And and like I'm just really happy he got to wear it. But but ten to ten going into the fourth quarter to a Washington State team with a freshman quarterback who's pretty unproven, that's gotta shake you up a little bit, right? Like obviously they come out and score twenty one. They they handled it pretty well and that's That's what separates Boise, I think, from the rest of the group of six and not only the Pac twelve, but it just is what it is, man. They're they're consistent I think this is the sixth game in a row now. They put up over thirty or they were in the thirty range. So that's pretty impressive. Again, defense played incredible. I don't care who you're playing, it you gotta play who's in front of you, you and it whether it's Washington State or Oregon State, defense has got to show up. So happy for the Broncos. They got Tech State coming up on Halloween. So we'll see how that goes. I That's a that's another game I'm not really sure with how how this Pac twelve season has gone, guys. if it's gonna be close or not. So we'll see. I think Washington State played how you kind of expect as the team that the defense can make it close going into the fourth quarter. And then we obviously saw, you know, twenty one from Boise State at that point. I I wouldn't be worried about the Broncos though, because it it's very similar to and we'll talk about it, the Texas State game, right? It it just weren't on their A game, especially offensively, but they found a way to win, right? That's what good teams are going to do. And Spencer Danielson coach team with all this experience, they're they're gonna do that and they found a way. I did notice Maddox Madsen did look off. I mean, he should have thrown a pick yet yesterday, right? There were a few of those balls, yeah. But he didn't. He still has no picks on the year. that's it. No, they ha also have I wanna know what happened. There's a team pass. It says 0 for one in passing and it just says team. I want to know what happened on that play 'cause that sh that shouldn't be there. that's just a stat nerd thing and I know how inputting the stats works and it shouldn't be like that. But Dylan Riley gets more carries than Cyre Gaines this game, has literally double his yards and has two touchdowns, seventy two yard long. Dylan Riley bet best back in the country leads the nation in rushing yards. Yeah, hard to disagree with that. Yeah. Yeah, I I I can't think of anyone else at the top of my head. I know Cam Cook is the only guy I'm thinking of that's also really good, but I who's having a better season than Riley right now though. Nobody. That's what I'm saying. And this guy was projected to be back number two coming into the year. That's true. Yeah, no. He very much shut down that conversation. Yeah. But yeah, I mean the Washington State defense is just it we talked about it early on They just continue to keep them in these games until they just couldn't anymore. But there's some there is something there. It's what's kinda frustrating with Wazoo. They're like they're such a bad team, but there's always something in these games that keeps people watching more than they should. Or gives you a little bit of hope. Yeah. It's like it's ten They can't turn it around, but you just think maybe they could win a game. It's like it's like ten ten against Boise going into the fourth. of course you're gonna watch that game. And then that's when the floodgates get broken. But It it sucks for them because I think th this is as best as you can play Boise. Like this was their ceiling, I think. Like Mads Ma I mean Mads Mason threw one fifty yards in a touchdown. Like you said, there probably should be an interception in there, but you didn't go your way. Then you see Ashelman during a very pivotal part of game, his tight end just goes the wrong way on a choice route and he's the one throwing a pick and then that just flips the momentum entirely. And those are just plays like that to where it's like, Well, that's just football and it's like it sucks, but You s it it's it's probably the toughest loss they've had all year. Not gonna lie. Yeah. Maybe the Utah State one, but to have the Dumber twentieth like some team on the ropes at home, it's gotta hurt. That or when they also had Washington on the ropes in the fourth quarter week. They've three of the same losses in a row. I think they could very much be what, they played eight games. I think they could be three and five, maybe even what, four and four, but they just don't have the offense to actually make that happen. I do think Owen Eshelman might be not their answer, but he's giving them more than Pinnock has. I also think they're throwing the ball a lot more based on like the attempts that Eshelman's had these two weeks. Yeah I agree with that. They're they're letting him throw it a lot more and I've seen him he's got a pretty good deep ball. He he can sling it but he also led the team in rushing yards with 23 carries. 23 carries for 33 yards. I know probably Sacks factor into some of those carries I don't have how many times he got sacked in the five. Four times. Okay. Still, that's almost twenty carries right there. they only ran it ten times with their running backs and nobody had more than twelve yards. That is Wow. I'm sorry, Kirby Moore. I know you're like the offensive guru and all that, but you you gotta run the football or figure out how to. And I guess that offensive line is really just so bad they can't. But yeah, they better just be hoping they can go grab a running back in the portal and some offensive linemen because that running game it's so bad. That running game might be the worst in the country and I'm actually gonna go look that up. It might be. dude, even Utah State can run the ball. It's like I can't there's no reason in twenty twenty six to where like, yeah, if you don't have a quarterback that can't pass, that's whatever. That's like half the teams in the country. But like running the ball, you can't find anybody that can just run forward and just get you yards is embarrassing. They are 115th out of 138 in FPS. And that is based on yards per game, rushing yards per game, and somehow it says 120.4. That just feels really wrong. KD Peggy would notable below that. KD Penn's legacy is keeping keeping them from being the worst rushing team in the country. That got you, Coach. Don't worry. It might just be Pedig's legs. Because there was games where we had like 80 yards. Nobody else had like twenty. Well, you know what? We say Utah State can run the ball, but Utah State is 120th in the country. Wow. I just feel like Utah State Broshous a fraud. Utah State started running the ball lately. Grady Broshous is a fraud. Starting needs. He's a fraud. I almost fought so last night because we were arguing about that game. I f I do feel like Utah State's rushing attack is better than Washington State's though, because Washington State doesn't have a running back. Utah State has Javen Jacobs. He's a running back. They just took a while to find him. Yeah, nonetheless, though, yeah, Wazoo stinks that are they're gonna finish last place. they'll be lucky to win a game in the Pac twelve this year, which is pretty crazy considering they were left behind, quote unquote. well for dead, yeah. You know what? It seems like it wasn't the worst thing to leave them behind. This is kinda like maybe higher than their playing field that they need. Yeah, maybe send them down to the mount west now planned. That's that's that's mean. No, we love Wazoo, but just Just a rebuild your first year with a new head coach. Yeah, we we when we previewed them, there was there was three teams off the top of my head, Colorado State, Oregon State, and Wazoo. They were like one of these one year coaches is gonna fail. And like one of them's gonna fail hard. And it's Kirby Moore, yeah. It just happened to be Kirby Moore. And it's just how the cookie crumbles. But I mean, Bray, you got anything else you gotta say about this game? No, no. another good win for Boise. They got a tough competition coming up ahead, Texas State and Oregon State, I think, back to back. So And I think all we can hope for right now is just boise you to keep on winning, right? As cool as it would be to see Wazoo get their first win in this new league, you would really hate for it to be against like the team that's giving you the best chance to represent the playoff. So single handedly keeping us in it right now unless Oregon State somehow pulls away. Yeah, exactly. Dude, yeah, 'cause it's the three way race between like Boise, UTSA and like New Mexico. Yeah. Those are the three way. JMU kind of fell off after losing to App State. Oregon State's not far behind though. I think a lot more people are giving them More respect than they're they're they're not far behind. They're just the only one of those teams that have two losses. Yes. They they have to be perfect the rest of the year. Yeah. And it could start with Boise, but if you do that is the road it goes through Boise. I think that's the only way they can do it. Did Houston end up beating Utah? Yeah. Yeah. Okay. No, no, Utah won. Utah Utah won. that's not good for Oregon State. And then Cincinnati beating Tech, that's also not good for Oregon State. I wanted you. I wanted Houston to win that game. The one time I wanted a Houston too. I I don't know if that I don't know if that'll be a knock against them though, because they they didn't they didn't drop him pr that far. Okay. Yeah they're top eighteen. Yeah, those teams are still within the top fifteen, I believe. Okay. So but yeah, it's not the best look that Houston can't be ranked opponent. but this is a Pac twelve podcast. So we're gonna shift over to the next game, which was a barn burner. Who would have thought? Welcome back. Well, Vegas thought the over under was sixty and a half and Colorado State almost hit that themselves Welcome back, Hoss Haney. The Colorado State Rams get their first win in a while. They take down the San Diego State Aztecs. 56 to 49. If you loved offense, this was the game for you. just what a day for Haas Haney. Caden, you want to go you want to go ahead, Caden? Sorry. I I don't I this is this is your guy. So All right, but yeah, Alito product. Come on. Come on. Texas high school football legend, Haas Haney. Boss Haas. I told you all I said if Hoss Haney plays, which I just assumed he would because I think Monday, the week before, he was questionable ahead of that Texas State game. Mm-hmm and then I think he moved to doubtful like the next day. But the fact there was any optimism of him playing, and even Colorado State fans were saying they thought he would have played against Texas State, I felt like this would be the week he came back. And boy did he come back and just absolutely light things up. He had five total touchdowns, two on the ground in the fourth quarter, which were both really good runs. he's doing a great job with his legs. A hamstring looks fine. I believe it was a hamstring. It was, yeah. and then, he Quezon Ferrar, great backup quarterback to have, in terms of just, you know, FBS football. I think he could go be a starter somewhere else. But Haas Haney just brings something else to the table. That's what I've been trying to say. He brought that to the table. Three hundred and thirty three yards, three tuds. No, he did throw a pick. Who cares? They won, right? And he ran to it to in the ground on the ground as well. Yeah. And So the fact that Hosseini goes in that game knowing, all right, I'm coming back from injury, but I've got to go score a lot of points because my defense is not good at all. Right. My defense is terrible. He did exactly that at this game. The last in FBS. Yeah. The last place defense. To be able to take the last last defense in FBS and to win them a game by scoring fifty six points. Yeah. Shout out to you. I mean Defense did have two interceptions. I will say that. they are also playing San Diego State. They also played a backup quarterback. who scored forty-nine points. Let's not let's Let's not discredit San Diego State for a second, because they had a a great offensive performance. Yeah, but they're also playing the worst defense in the country. I yeah, hey, listen, you gotta play who's in front of you, right? And they lost. And they lost. You're right. I I'm just saying y'all thought San Diego State was gonna win. Y'all actually both flipped your picks, made show that. Y'all flipped y'all's picks mid Show last week. This is true. I think I've I stayed true to the Ram fam. Come on, Jim Moore. I'm super excited that they got their first Pac twelve win. I still really like Colorado State. It's hard to really like them to go to a bowl game at three and four already and you know, that that defense is what it is. but you know what, I was just excited to see him get a win 'cause I do I I was on the fence last week about San Diego State. I was thinking, Okay, Sean Lewis is actually either gonna really figure this thing out and like They could sneaky not make the Pac 12 championship, but they could be in the talk for it, going down to the last few weeks of the season. The fact that they were third in the crowd, they have to be perfect, though. No, they would have had to be, yeah. but they would have given themselves the best fighting chance possible with how bad that offense is. but you know what? They obviously showed that that they're just not that good. That offense can't keep up. It We'll talk about Tex State, Utah State, but the similar thing happened here. Colorado State made it an offensive game and San Diego State couldn't keep up. So that that's really why they didn't win this game. I think it's seven points closer the final is than what it actually felt like it was watching it. I was watching this one live while working the Texas State game, not gonna lie. it was really fun to watch though. I guess shout out Stone Saunders though, 'cause that dude does have a deep ball. Jaden Dinnigal didn't have it. I mean they were I know We're talking about Colorado State secondary, but Stone Saunders, they literally trust him to throw the ball more than ten yards down the field. That's a true freshman, too. Yeah. I I don't think he's a bad quarterback, honestly. I know who he played, but still I he's better than Jaden Dinnigal, if you ask me. He's low key also better with Grady Brosser house. Yeah. He is. Yeah. I'll go with that. I'll take that. but it's great for San Diego State to have Lucky Sutton and Javion Kennard back. They both had ninety eight and ninety four on the ground, watching the first drive of the game for San Diego State and people were sitting next to me and they were like, yo, San Diego State already scored. I was like, yeah, man, they just threw a five yard hitch and ran for 40 after the catch and then they just handed it to Lucky Sutton. But they they couldn't do that all game long, obviously, and keep up with Colorado State. Huge win for the Rams though. When it works, it works, man. I I feel genuinely robbed that we missed four Haas Haney games. After after watching how I think Colorado State's been robbed of that too. Yeah, I agree. for sure. Because the I I think best case scenario, they finish six and six if they can get that win over Fresno. I think every other opponent is probably pretty achievable besides Boise. I think they could have beat U T S A with Hossaney. I agree. Look how close that game was. I mean, yeah, i i that could have been the difference, right? But yeah, I just like I said, I feel like we kinda got robbed a little bit. Five total touchdowns, eighty five on the ground, three and thirty three in the air. He didn't miss a beat in four games missed. With the hamstring injury. With the hamstring injury. It's a tough injury to come back from. I'm about to say that. That's very tough to come back from and he, like I said, didn't miss a step. So he's he's he's so fun to watch. I I think if we're if we're talking about quarterbacks who we're worried about in the portal, man, like Hawai's Aini. But if I'm him, I may love Jim Moore, I may love Fort Collins, I may love the NIL Colorado State brings to the table, but I don't love the chance my defense gives me to win games. I mean he was a he was a A power force started quarterback last yeah, last year until he got hurt first game. Yeah. Like they probably feel robbed too. The only thing with Haas Haney, pe people are gonna be worried about him staying healthy. I still am for the rest of the season, but I mean, what a job to just come back and play with no fear. Absolutely. Yeah, y'all kind of covered basically everything. Haas Haney, just an electric day. Twenty front twenty four for thirty one, three thirty three, three touchdowns, one interception. He did lose a fumble. He did lose a fumble, but he wasn't sacked. They don't have him sucking. And the the touchdown that separated them was a was a pick six. So kind of kind of and and also too, I don't know if you guys saw this as well throughout the week. Jim Moore talked about how his defensive coordinator was like staying in the facility. Yeah, he was staying in the f and and that Tray Sean Moore interception or that pick six by Traeshawn Moore, I think kinda like was like a nice poetic little like, all right, we can finish strong. And hopefully that since the pick six happened and helped them win the game He can go home and be with his wife and kids on reality. Finally, right? Honestly, he does not need to be doing that to his family. I'm not even joking, 'cause it's not working, right? San Diego State scored forty nine on you. It's still not working, yeah. Texas State scored what sixty six on you the week before. he needs to go home and live a more normal life. As normal as you can as a collegiate football coach. But yeah, that brother just needs to go home, man. I I hate that for him. I think Well, so this is just kinda not off topic, but that's pretty toxic of coaching culture for it to be that way. A hundred percent. It shouldn't it should never be that way. You should be able to, clock out when the day's done, all the coaches leave. And hey, maybe I'm gonna stay for an extra hour, I'm gonna watch more film on San Diego State. Cool, man. You don't need to be working twenty four hours a day, damn near. And they and they all do it. Like and I I don't know wha how that got accepted. It's because one person started it. And it created a quote unquote advantage in other people's eyes and now everybody thinks they have to do it. And I will give it them the benefit of the doubt too that a college head coach is like a way bigger role than say an NFL head coach, right? 'Cause you're handling everything. You're the GM and the head coach and you're also like the face of a of a of a a city. So it's i it it's a big big job to put on somebody's shoulders. But go and say what you're say solo, 'cause I wanted to talk a little bit about San Diego State though. I I was just gonna say just the Especially how college football the landscape is now, the pressure of any kind of coach, even a coordinator, they're the first guys off the choppy block. Yeah, every time, right? And he's he's the interim. It's just it's just the easiest thing to do. But it's like it sucks. As a player though, if I know my DC stay in overnight to help me get better as a defensive player, though, I do love the buy in that my coach is bringing, but man It's not working. It's not it's not healthy either, man. Yeah, it can't be I I feel it's more performative than anything. He's LARPing. He's trying to get that full contract, bro. He's LARPing coach. He is absolutely not mogging at all. Whatever the opposite of that is, that's what he's doing. He's getting mogged. We just lost our millennial audience. All right. What did you want to say? again, it's speaking of getting robbed by Haas Haney, I really feel like we got robbed of Lucky Sutton as well. And even a few games of J.V. Kennard. Because look how effective they were. Like I I understand they lost, but they They were going toe to toe with Colorado State and Haas Haney, like with a with a freshman backup quarterback with two two running backs who just came off injury. I think let's go ahead and just call him the starter now, though. Yeah. After seeing him throw three hundred and sixty nine yards, I think Sean Lewis knows Jaden Tannegall is gonna have to get back to me on LinkedIn now, brother. I was just gonna say, yeah, please accept Caden's LinkedIn connection. Don't play it again this year, man. We can get you connections in San Marcus, bro. Yeah, it's shout out shout out Mike Lindsay on San Diego State for getting that interception on us. on Haas Haney obviously didn't make a difference. The result we would know the result, but yeah, great performance by San Diego State. Like I know it's a loss. I know it's frustrating being three and five, but you have to keep your head high and like in at this time of the season. And you have to start looking for every little thing that you can be happy about. And boy, like I I I mean I know it's maybe not going to get you to like a big bowl game or anything, but at the very least I'm excited to watch Lucky Sutton and Javion Kennard the rest of the year. I was gonna say and when Lucky Sun does graduate cut, I think this is his last year. This is his last year, yeah. Jamie Kennard, dude, tan carries ninety four yards, nine point four yards of carry on the dot. With two touchdowns, that dude's electric, dude. He's gonna like once he's gets out of that split back role, he's gonna s go. Yeah, I agree. Give give him the workhorse load and I will say go off. Colorado State very much chance to make a bowl game. I was looking at the schedule and I agree. I was looking at the next week, Utah State in Logan. That's a that's it's winnable. It's a really good defense. But, you know, I'll just go ahead and say it or actually no, never mind. yeah, if Colorado State can make that a offensive shootout, like Utah State won't be able to keep up. They lose to Boise, of course, unless somehow I mean just magic happens. If you take a fourteen nothing lead against Utah State, that's a win. Yeah. And then they've got Washington State. I I think that's a win. then we got Fresno. I I'm with No I I think that's a win if you have Haas Haney playing. I think we'll have to see Fresno play another game or two between now and then. I know they had the bye this week, just to see how they respond to that San Diego State loss. But then it's the Flex game. That's a round robin non conference game. It's a conference opponent, but it's a non conference game and they have it at home. It will be Texas State too. How how do you know it will be? It's It's pretty much guaranteed that it's gonna be. that's what everybody I it's not a secret. I've been hearing people say that, but I just I don't know. I don't know if it's guaranteed or not, because I feel like it would say that already, but I do know what you're saying. People feel like it's a given. I'm not giving them the win though if it's Tex State, to be honest with Well, no, and that's where like the loss would come in, right? It would come from Boise State and Texas State. So they would have to win three out of the five games, right? And I I think the toughest one is Fresno that I think they they could win. Hear me out. Yeah. These are would they be Boise? I'm not it this is college football. It is it is in Fort Collins. That's a great atmosphere. Obviously they're not gonna stop anything, but that Boise secondary if Washington State will be eating good. If Washington State Back if Washington State they didn't even have RJ Vick. That's what I'm saying, yeah. No, no, you're fine. If Washington State can hold Boise State to ten points going into the fourth, I have I think Colorado State can do it. And I think their offense is much better, so they'll be able to keep up if Boise State even does it. I really hope that Colorado State doesn't beat Boise State, though. It'd be really fun to beat We can't have that happen, man. I think we gotta get somebody. I'm just dreaming. Considering that game's in two weeks, though, nothing's gonna be certain in two weeks. I'm just dreaming in the world of college football. Is we'll we'll see what happens, but there's a chance though they get to a bowl game. And what if they don't get Texas State? What if the Pac twelve decides we're gonna give them San Diego State again, say, you know? I that's I know how they first time was I don't know how the flex week they want to match that up. Like if Boise's one and Oregon State's two, do they do one versus eight, two versus seven, so on and so forth? I I don't know what their goal is exactly. I know it's to give Yeah, I I honestly don't know so I can't even give you. I know they want to give one and two the best chance. to be in the championship or to make the playoff. I don't know how they want to do that. Do they want, Boise State to play a team number four that's just a little bit of a tougher strength of schedule opponent type of thing. Or do they want to give him a cupcake to guarantee the win? I don't know. so we'll see how the flex week comes out. But when are we going to find out about that? I I think after the week before. That's right after. That's so insane. But Maybe not though. I don't know. With how people are talking, you would think they already know. Soul actually could just ask Teresa Gold for us. I know you got the connections now, bro. I'll try, bro. I'll hit her up and be yo, let's leak that shit right now. Break the news, right? Do we got anything left on No, a great game. This is the game of the week and I we'll get to it later, but we'll we'll talk more about Hoss Haney later. But wow, what like what a game and if you're a San Diego States fan, not nothing to hang your head on, man. That was a that was a fun one. I wonder what Aztec Republic's thinking, man. What a season it's been for the Aztecs, genuinely. why do you honey? I would hate to be a fan of that team. What a roller coaster D's like so weird isn't it got good other sports though. Yeah, that's true. Basketball made the final four years ago. Baseball's really good. They got C V B and other sports to look forward to. But we're gonna move on to the last game of the slate, the even closer game and a very much a different contest. Defensive matchup who would have guessed from a team who held sixty six the last week is now dropping twenty. But still getting wins. Texas State, Utah State was a primetime matchup in San Marcos. It ended up being a cats win twenty to seventeen. And like I said, it was a very sloppy game. The Texas State offense didn't score until the third quarter. I will go ahead and say that Colorado State, San Diego State wasn't game of the week. This was game of the week. Stop. For all the right reasons, man. Stop. For all the right reasons. All right. Look, it it was either going to go one or two ways. You could say this is cliche or very like Not analytical of me, but all right, Josh Pate, relax. Here we go. It was demons the number one offense the number one offense in the country based on yards per game at least. The play by guy play by play guy for CBS Sports five times throughout the broadcast said this is the best offense in the country. I was like, I love when it's slow your role, brother, but I love when the Nazis get a stat and they just run with it. I mean you gotta sell the game that you're calling to. Right. but then it was also one or two, like the first or second best defense in the conference in Utah State. so it was gonna go one of two ways. It's gonna be Texas State makes it an offensive game and Utah State has to keep up or Utah State makes it a defensive game and Texas State also has to figure out how to play defense and and just find a way to win. That's exactly what happened and I'm so glad that it went that way because I wanted to see Texas State win in any other way besides offense. And they did that, right? It's all these games like it's just a shootout and you just got to hope the defense gets a stop at some You know, where the offense just scores so much it's not even close. This like this felt like a real football game to me. and I wanted to see Texas State win a game like that. It was really gritty. It it was gutsy. I think watch out for Texas State's defense, man. I I think the defense has taken leaps and bounds since the beginning of the season, and that's a credit to Will Windham. And honestly, shout out Nate for saying how much he loved Will Windham and after the U TSA game. And I think it might've been after the North Texas game. Yeah, it was. He said, Don't freak out about this defense right now. Believe in Will Windham. He's like, I kinda just like the guy, but just trust him and it's working out. I'm this defense. Yeah. The defense is looking really good. I know it was a Utah State offense that isn't gonna I mean, it's Grady Brosserhouse, right? He he looks at Bronco Mendahl every week and says, I got you seventeen, coach. Like He genuinely does get him seventeen every week. Last week was eighteen. He genuinely just gets you to that sixty eighteen range. That's what I'm saying. One one quarterback threw for over two hundred yards. So this is true. That and like that just goes to show just how this defense has stepped up because the offense got outplayed. And they still and they still won. And that was awesome to see Texas State find a way to win a football game in another way. that was awesome. So The kickoff return right by Jalen Jenkins going straight to the house in the first quarter. I'll argue that that's the worst thing that could have happened to Texas State's offense because they didn't go on the field till like what, five and a half minutes. Yeah, in the first quarter. Utah State was eating possession time in that first half. I think the the total time was twenty something to eight minutes comp comparatively. So that's insane. Utah State was just grime I I have the first half stats. Let me pull it up real quick. Yeah, 'cause the it's interesting as you say that 'cause the After the final game, the final whistle, time possession was Utah State thirty one and Texas State twenty eight. So that second half was just a f so in the first half, Utah State had twenty one minutes and forty seconds of possession, Texas State eight minutes and twenty seconds. What a fucking So Utah State made it a game where you're gonna play our brand of football and Texas State beat in that sense. Yeah. That's cool. Like you gotta be excited about that. I mean I'm just saying Texas State's third in the Pac 12 right now. They're two and one. They're the only one lost team. Boise, Oregon State, both at three and There's a lot of people on social media that still like to say Texas State does not deserve an invite to this conference. They don't deserve to be here. you know, they were just the only team that they could grab at the end of it because no one else wanted to come. Well, that team is third place in this conference right now and very much has a real shot at making the Pac Twelve championship game. Yeah, I I have no Disagreements about anything you said, Caden. I I was gonna say, just like for some foreshadowing from a few weeks ago, we talked about Colorado State, I think, won it or no, they lost a game with somebody scoring a kick return, and Jim Morris said like most of the a hundred percent of the time, maybe it's maybe ninety-nine to some ninety nine percent, whatever he said, but nine per ninety nine percent of the time a team who scores that kick return touchdown is gonna win the game. And that's like the first thing I thought about as I saw Jalen Jenkins like hitting that that fifteen, the ten, the five, and I was just like, Man, no matter no matter how ugly it gets, I I just I felt good that Texas State was gonna pull away. And even I will say great job by by Coach Kenny to call that timeout in the final seconds. to freeze that kicker and and then have him come out. And and I will say, I I don't know, maybe maybe I just had the headset on. Maybe I could hear the crowd a little better. I felt like that Even though it was probably half the people left in the stadium from the first half, I felt like that was it was a pretty loud atmosphere. And I think that maybe rattled him a little bit. Shout out the the people on the home side for Tech State for Homecoming. it was Homecoming, Southwest Texas unis. Gotta drop that in there because those are so nice. Those are such good unis. They're cursed. They I think they're cursed. How so really I think they're three and one in those. They wore them last year against Troy and and they lost leading by twenty eight points. That their only loss, I though. I think they're three and one in them in the Kenny era though. Okay, so I'll take that back then. But yeah, just from my time being here, that that that's all I know about it, you know. And it it's just like missed field goals, right? Have I associated with that? No, that's true. If you're if you're a special teams player, you don't want to see that uniform. Right. For sure. eighteen thousand five hundred and eighty seven attendance for homecoming. it's been a talking point for Texas State fans. I don't just not even talk about it a lot, the you win games, people show up straight up. I mean, Colorado State, they obviously lost to Texas State the way that they did. They've been losing games, and their attendance wasn't great against San Diego State yesterday, and that's because they weren't winning that many games. so you win, people show up. That's all I'm gonna say about that. yeah, the shout out Jacob Bonilla to the kicker for Texas State, just drilling that. He missed from forty nine in this to end the second half and he made that last one from thirty seven and actually I was looking and on the season he was one for three from thirty to thirty nine yards. And that was the worst field goal percentage in any distance category that was listed. And you know what? He's two for four now. He drilled that one with a minute fifty six left in the four to make it twenty to seventeen. And yeah man, just shout out the defense because Colorado or Colorado State Utah State, a lot of their yards, right? We watched the game, not a lot of chunk plays. I think they had two plays for twenty plus yards. They were they hit a lot of screens, flat, like wheel they were mostly taking what was being given to them. Texas State likes to do the three high safety look to confuse quarterbacks and just protect over the top. And all Utah State could do was just throw to what was open, you know, five yards, eight yards down the field. And most of the yards just came from the the run after the catch to get a few more. They they didn't really give up any big plays, did a good job stopping the run, only seventy three yards allowed. Javen Jacobs, fourteen rushes for forty two yards. Think he did a good job there. Brosserhaus ran the ball really well, like he always does. He gave him a little bit of trouble, but he didn't change the game with his legs at all. So yeah, he got contained pretty well. And Eli Woods got locked up, dude, let's be d let's be real. Yeah he did. He did. He had one catch for seven yards on six targets. Yeah, I think Me personally, I think this probably the one of the few times maybe I don't know if it's crazy to say, but this probably the best coaching performance I've seen from Kenny maybe in a long time. I think so. Yeah, I guess. It felt like they coached a really competitive and complete. Complete game where it was really easy to make a mistake in. Yeah. And it's like what really kinda told me this is gonna be a different game is that how he responded that second half just 'cause the offense didn't do anything the first half. They got besides the kickoff return, the special teams they didn't do anything. So but Like y'all said, Utah State also really didn't do a lot. So when your defense is able to do that bend, don't break, force three field goals, you're still only down by two. And they were just running a gimmick offense, a screen check downs of the whole shebang. Nothing too crazy. And I like how Kenny took that and said, Well, we have the weapons. We can can't get anything going down the field. We can't run the ball. We're not really doing what we're able to do. So we can also run a gimmick offense. We have the the pieces to do that. And that's how we got Brad in a rhythm. That's how we got the offense going. We can do bubble screens. We can do check downs. We can do let's throw it out to the flat. I I like that how he was able to just not overthink it and try not to be like, let's just force it down the field. Let's just do these big explosive plays like we do all season. Let's slow it down. Let's do a gimmick offense. And eventually we'll just get to where Utah State is and we know how to finish drives. We can get the points in the red zone. And that's what they did and that's how you win these ugly games. And there was no rushing attack for Texas State either. That was not a threat at all. They were bottling too. Do you still have the first quarter stats? Because I don't think Texas State had a first down in the entire first quarter. They they didn't up until the last drive. Yeah. Because it was two straight three and outs. They didn't have a first down. All I have is the rushing s the the yards. I was producing the game, but I can tell you before the last drive they only had twenty eight yards of offense. Yeah. also last thing I have on this game, Bronco Mendahall when he was at BYU in two thousand and eleven coached against G J Kenny in the Armed Forces Bowl in two thousand and eleven. What are the odds? BYU against Tulsa. G J was the quarterback. BYU won by three, but the play by play guy talked about this story how Bronco Mendehall remembered GJ. G J didn't think he remembered him and, Bronco just had nothing but good things to say about how good G J was as a quarterback. but also like just crazy that now they were coaching against each other. Minden Hall goes from BYU to Utah State, another school in the same state. Now GJ's what? I think he's thirty six years old. He's on thirty eight, seven, thirty seven, thirty eight. He's in his late thirties. And yeah, that was cool how now that's just something from that game. And then G J came out with the win this time and huge win for Texas State. They've got a lot of momentum going to Boise on Halloween night for a blackout after dark. You're alone at third place. Like you said, they contain that run game. Torrance Burgess went out too and I think the third quarter of an injury. So we'll see his status. We still have Diamond Jackson out. I think he's weak. He was actually suited up and was told he was gonna play and he didn't get a touch. Really? I don't know if that's like where they're just being careful or if yeah something happened off the field. I'm not speculating. They never I'm just wondering why. Why he's hurt. They still have yet to disclose the injury. I think it's a leg injury, I think. But why not just say that? I think it's it's always been undisclosed on his input. Hey, bro, you can't let the other team know. Yeah, especially with a guy who's fishing. Especially with a guy who was before he got hurt second in the pack twelve and total touchdowns. This is true. This is that's a guy who was an absolute offensive weapon, but shout out Utah State's defense as well. Four sacks, seven tackles for loss. Dude, there we go. They they did their part. I'm not gonna lie, that first half, man, they were a whooping Tech State down the trenches absolute whooping that Bravo to walk into the best offense in the country. And and and just stay on your ground. They they got they got him out of rhythm. like Caden said, they made play their game. all the credit to them. That defense is just truly insane. And they with that, I feel like they have the ability to give anyone a game. that's a team you just don't want to play. Especially when at home. Yeah, Colorado State. We're gonna get that get to there in a second, but with Even how good Haas Haney looks, man, if they're able to disrupt Texas State, man, they can I can think they could disrupt. It'd be a fun one. Could be a really fun one. I just want to say one one last thing as well before we move on. The biggest criticism of of Coach Kenny has been his decision making at the end of these games. What a way what a way to come out. Yeah, and handle it perfectly. Perfect. Yeah. W considering and considering like that they didn't have the ball the the possession time nearly as as much as Utah State did. So again, an absolute master class by by GJ Kenney. It's a it was a chess game out there and he he came out on top and I I have to tip my hat to that. That's why man K Kaden gets to when he said this is just a football game. You don't get that 'cause you don't like defense. But that yeah, I listen Big Ten fan that doesn't like defense. I'm gonna be honest with you, I did not have fun watching any of this game, but I was so but I was enjoying it so much, especially at the end, man. I I had a great time. Watching your team go down and just control the clock very well and kick a field goal of all things and then they ice the kicker who actually made the first attempt, then then he misses it wide left the next time. I've never gotten to experience that from my team ever. I I never really It's always happening to us, not yeah the other way around. I've never really had a team that I really will die for until I got Tech State, so Man, it's great over here, man. Fives are high. Anything else on this game? Nope. But we got four games this week for y'all that we're gonna just preview right now and starting with the twelve thirty forget these are always in Pacific time. The two thirty game, Colorado State will be traveling to Logan, Utah to take on the Aggies. How we feelin' about Haas Haney's second game back on the road. We just talked about how great this defense is. How we feelin' who's gonna win? I just need to look at some real quick, sorry. I really don't so fast. I really I I just I sorry, I just need to look at something real fast and I I just didn't want any dead air. I never check any stats going into these games, honestly, and I probably should but what what do you think? Ooh, this is a really hard game. I love this game. I'll say Colorado State thirteen and a half. I was gonna say that. I was gonna say Colorado State fourteen and a half. It's Utah State minus six. Bang, bang, bang, bang. It's a great game, man. Come on, give me Colorado's. I know six is kinda crazy. Give me Colorado's. Is that technically our upset then? I mean we haven't really been following that as well because it's kinda hard in conference play with three or four games. East mean has Utah State a sixty seven point eight percent chance to win. I mean, that defense is really good. They are really good. It is a really good defense. And now but Haas Haney, man. But it's Haas Haney, maybe. I'm buying into Boss Haas. Come on. This is literally the two teams that are flipped. this offense for Utah State sucks. And this defense is really good. If it's Colorado State, the offense is really good. This defense sucks. This is the best game for Utah State. Dude is gonna eat. what what did Dan call it? The Grady game. This is the Grady breakup. This is probably the Grady game, but i I I only get worried if Utah State does to Colorado State what they just did at Texas State and they make them play their game football. But I think that offense is just too good. I actually have no idea about RJ Vick this week. I already picked Colorado State, so I don't care. Yeah, I'll also take Colorado State. You don't like Grady no more, huh? Dude, the Grady gimmicks up. I like I like Os Haney a lot more. But the Grady he saw Grady and Broshausen and Praise like I the ore's not the ore's not there anymore. The past few games and the old lines hold up or sorry, held up pretty well. So it's Asher Cunningham will be disruptive. He was this Saturday. He's very good. I'd say between the league. Between Jaden Virgil Morgan, Bone Phelps, because they were both tackle leadership. Bone Phelps. yeah, that was kind of random. But yeah, I I is there one on Oregon State that we're possibly missing there that could get that? Because I I I just don't know the guy. It's crazy, dude. But dude, I think I also go with the Rams, but this is a funny ass game. The fact that Utah State is favored by six and a half is c like what? This might be the highest over under total for a Utah State football game in some time, man. Dude, we were at remember we were asking is Utah State gonna win a game? And they're favored by Colorado State. Yeah. It's with Hall Seiney playing. This is with Haw like dude. Not even Case and Ferrar. Well, because they're just defensive. This is tied for the highest over under of the four games this week at sixty three and a half. Wow. Really? Mm-hmm. Interesting. Fairs. Interesting. Yeah. Dang, sweep for Colorado State, the underdogs this week. I I I'd like that. First game of the slate. This one's on USA and I am I imagine because it's at two thirty Central, it's not gonna be Nathan Ryan. I bet they're I bet they're gonna be in Fresno. Yeah. I don't think they've been to Fresno yet. Nope. D do you want to go to Fresno? I mean Does anyone want to go to Fresno? you're the Fresno fan, man. He shouldn't be saying this. I'm not going to Fresno. Ferris. He's he likes the team. Wait, no, he literally was just telling me he wants to he wanted to buy tickets to the Fresno Boise game three weeks ago or two weeks ago. Yeah, because I wanted to go to the football game. I'm not dying to go to Fresno. There's nothing to do in Fresno. Yeah, what the heck are we going to do in Fresno? Ride they ride tractors, I guess. We can go to Sacramento. Drive three hours to Sacramento. Shout out the Ball Sack game. Yeah. Shout out the Ball Sack game, yeah. Shout out to Mac. Bang. But yeah, I was maybe debating a flip. I think I'll just stick with the Rams. I just think that J I don't wanna overthink this one. I just think David Jacobs could go crazy. And then it's like once they get going, if their offense gets going, it's like, dude, what if Asher Cunningham just does too much? Can can you give me an example of when their offense really has kind of got it going though? When I mean, have they ever played the last defense in the country? That's true. I I guess not. If there's ever a time. The Grady game. The Grady game. The Grady do like Grady Grady. We saw what Brad Jackson did. Low key. Grady Brashawell might have three rushing touchdowns. Hold on now. Are we talking so low into it? Nah, I don't think I'll stay. Maybe. Nah, I'll stay. You can think about it. I'll go. I'll think it will. Well, we'll go over to the next game. I think I think we got we got nothing else to talk about there. Washington State, San Diego State. This is it. Snapdragon Stadium, the Kooks are down and out under luck, but they're trying to do anything to get this win and this probably their best chance if they do want to get a win this season, but it's not gonna be easy, of course. But how do we feel about this game? Snapdragon's a tough place to play, man. It's I that's been proven and it's not dude. I'm not really saying that either. No, no, I saw a st I saw a stat that said they're nine and one their last ten home games. So that's that's awesome. So obviously play really well at home. Sean Lewis has been I th I I I I think San Diego State's on a slow ascent right now. Obviously it's it's too late for them to really do anything with it, but I think they're a lot better than people are giving them credit for. And you're going against Washington State this week. I think it's a good chance for your offense to kinda really solidify itself, get comfortable with that freshman quarterback, and you got your two headed running back still. I think this is an easy pick. I'll take San Diego State. What do you think the spread is here? It can't be that high. San Diego State ten and a half. I'll say seven and a half. Minus three. Really? Nah, after that game Stone Saunders had that I think I think Wazoo's got a good defense, dude. They they really do. Mesota is San Diego State. State's got a they've got a solid defense for sure. I don't know about Washington State might not score a point. Really? I I mean the running game's not that good. Yeah, I guess the running game is terrible. Can they really rely on a true freshman quarterback to like beat a solid defense like this? Yeah. Yeah, I'm gonna go San Diego State. I was about to go Wazoo. Fang it. Dang it. But then I thought about the running game and I was like, yeah. We use logic and reason to the running game's all I needed to know not to pick Wazoo. Dude, this is it's gonna be bad. And I can just see this being like a that we I saw someone describe as that instead of like packing our stadium out, we we don't show up, so we create this weird, awkward feeling. And then we just we just beat teams. Some San Diego State's fans said that I was dying, bro. Cheapest ticket this week, by the way. 17 bucks to watch the these two mid-teams. Bang. And don't go. Don't go. Save your twenty-two dollars and get a six twelve pack. It's going be 70 degrees to do anything else in San Diego. With 22 bucks, you can probably only get a six-pack in California. Yeah, go ahead and do it. But anyway, you get two tall boys. Maybe a gallon of gas. If you're lucky. Yeah. But yeah, I think we got Aztec sweeps around here too. So we're going to go on to the Third game, not the last game, even though it comes on at nine o'clock. Texas State and Boise State, Halloween. It's gonna be Boise's blackout in Idaho. Bobcats and the Broncos. This is a highly anticipated matchup. Probably Texas game Texas State's biggest conference game ever. I'm with that. I'm interested to see how many Bobcats go because this is like I think they're gonna travel well, man. I do too. I a couple of people have been planning. Yeah, I literally two months ago wanted to go to this game and we've been trying to get Caden there the for months. Let's fly Caden out. And if last minute anybody listening wants to just, you know, spend eight hundred dollars to get me there. Is it eight hundred? No, the flights are like probably in the four hundreds right now. Fairs. But when I first looked, they were two ninety nine. Yeah, I remember you. Had I had a full time job at that moment, I would have pulled the trigger, but they're like yeah, they're too expensive now. But like me having no money in my pocket. Trying to find a way to go to this game. I imagine the amount of Texas State alumni that do have money on are like, Yeah, why wouldn't I want to go see the Blue Turf on Halloween night in a blackout game against the number twenty team in the country? So despite Texas State's attendance being kinda like, what the hell at home? This is one where they travel really well, I think. Because who doesn't want to go see the blue? Especially when your school's playing there. That's why I see the blue. Yeah. my god, I was fantasizing about a picture of me on the blue turf so bad. Would have been a hard pick, bro. Rushing the field after the win, man. On the road. On the ro You're rushing the field. Brad Brad, I knew you could do it, man. Let's go, cats. Come on. You gonna take your shirt off and everything. It's gonna be freezing cold. This is gonna be a fun one though. Like if I obviously have to be glued to my seat for this one because it is Texas State. But yeah, there's my this is gonna be I think it's gonna be a really fun game. Texas. I think I think Texas State is gonna be able to do some significant damage to that Boise State secondary, man. This is trap game potential. I think they're gonna be a lot of points scoring this game. Like you said, that secondary, but who, man, that it's just gonna be so surreal seeing Boise State live in a conference game. I never would have thought Against against Our school. yeah, that's awesome. Three years ago I would have never thought when we would be at the blue field. We do booze. it's Halloween. I'm gonna be boozed up in my costume, dude. I'm gonna be rocking a costume? I'm it's Halloween. Brett, you're just gonna be trick waiting. You better do your trick or treating before nine o'clock. Yeah, yeah. he'll be well done before he'll be done asleep by then. unfortunately I will probably like darn, I'll miss the Washington State, San Diego State game a little bit of it. You're gonna have it on your phone? You chicka chicken We're locked in, brother. Hey, hold on, hold on. I think I think Stone Saunders just threw a pick. Hold on. Wait, hold on. Don't don't knock on the door yet. They're on they're in the red zone. But it should be a great one. on the C W. I just can't it sucks it's on the C W. I w I wish this would be the USA game so this is the Ryan and Nate game, man. We needed it. This was this would have been such a good Ryan and Nate game, but instead I gotta Take their ass to Fresno. But man, I can't wait to see this one, bro. It should be a great one. And then, I mean, we can move on into the last game of the slate. This is the after dark game. Pac-12 after dark. So is Boise State Tech State, though. Nine o'clock Central. This is the one. This is the one that's gonna be on at two in the morning. Yeah. This is whenever all the other games finish. It's like, is there anything on? We got Oregon State taking on Fresno State. It should be a great one. USA Network, this is the Nate and Ryan game. They're gonna be in bum fuck Fresno. And how are we feeling about this game between a couple weeks ago this was what two versus three in the Pac twelve? And Fresno's obviously felling down a little bit, but they're still a pretty formidable opponent. This is probably the toughest game Oregon State has had in the conference. It's gonna be a it it will be a tough game. I will I will say you are right there. Toughest conference game so far for them, best defense they're gonna face so far. Brady Newberry, though they're running back, he's gonna be able to AJ Newberry? AJ Newberry, my apologies. He's gonna be able to run all over. Yeah, I think he might have that by the first half. 180 in the first half is great. What's the spread for this game? It's you gotta guess. This is true. I'll say Oregon State I'll say we're gonna say fourteen and a half. I'll low key I don't think it's gonna be that high. I'd say Oregon State five and a half. Ooh, you were close. Minus six and a half favor of the game. They respect Fresno a little bit. They respect the the dogs. Yeah, they do have a solid pass defense, but then again, they're going against the number one passing attack in the country. The best often in the country. doesn't Atkinson still lead the country? Yes. Even on the bye, Atkinson still leads the nation in passing attacks. And I'm pretty sure Legree does too, because Jeremiah Smith also had a bye week. And I think he was the only one that's close. Yeah. So yeah. So are you picking? Who is your pick? Yeah, I I look, I would love to pick Fresno in the spot. I think it's it's going to be a fun game. I think I I at the very least think Fresno will. keep it interesting, right? Atkinson and Jesse LeGree, so Oregon State pretty handedly as well. Yeah, this is a no brainer. Six and a half is just being generous to Fresno State. So yeah, They're doing that just so people still go to the game. Yeah, they're like, it's a home game guys. Pull up. Yeah. Pull up guy dude, yeah. That seems gonna be so empty. Halloween in California. Halloween in San Diego, who's gone to Snapdragon to Wazard. That's what I'm saying, bro. There's millions of better things to do. Yeah, me personally, if I know Jesse Legree's in town, there's nowhere else I'd rather be. But there's nowhere I'd rather be than than Fresno, California. You think it's too late for me to get like a Jesse Legree Costa for like Halloween? Yo, I wonder if I you're gonna have to get that rush delivery. What if I could order the shirt and be Jesse Legree. What if I just And get the the I black and right po problem kit on it? That might be hard. First white boy to dress up as a black receiver. No, to to dress up as him though. Like okay as a as a guy you're younger or it's not like me wearing a Randy Moss jersey. Yeah, no I get what you're saying. He's gonna be the first the first adult to be the problem kid. Yeah, Jesse Legree's literally like four years. I'm I'm a pay I'm gonna pay myself bronze and just do the Heisman and be yo, I'm Jesse Legree, dude. I'm just Propaganda on Halloween night, bro. I'm gonna be in the square like that, just hitting it all day. Literally not moving. But I mean, Caden, what are your thoughts about this game? I you gotta pick still too, I think. No, yeah, I said Oregon State all the way. It's not even gonna be close. Six and a half's generous. think Oregon State wins by about eighteen probably. that offense is just gonna be too much to handle. And I people we're not talking about it enough. We're trying to, but Oregon State's got a really good defense. And honestly, while we're in the midst of just talking about it, I'm gonna try and pull up some of their defensive stats and where they just sit in the conference because you just gotta talk about it. I think Jaden Mandal will struggle against that defense at some point in the game. but for him he's just gonna have to try and make no mistakes. That's what they started. Yeah. You're you're 100% right. I like what Oregon State brings to the table all around as a complete team here. So they're so much fun to watch. It's just it's just a really fun team to watch. And what a pleasant surprise that we've gotten out of them then this year. We we we all thought they were gonna be like a bottom selling seller team. And I I think I at one point said that they will be the last place team. So hey, like I'll I'll I'll eat my shit when I have to, man. But what a what a fun team. Pretty good shit to eat, man. It's been fun. But it's like yeah, I'm also taking the beats of Kentel, but I just can't wait. There's especially Legree and them after dark. this I think there's their first after dark game. Yeah, I think so. Yeah. in terms of scoring offense, Oregon State's first in the league. In terms of scoring defense, Fresno State is second in the league. That's interesting. Huh. That is Wow. So maybe that's like the defense offense matchup we should have been talking about over Calor C. I not saying that that's not a yeah. Good matchup. Hold it right here. Offense in terms of totals. This is I believe this is based on average yards a game. Oregon State's first at five hundred and twenty seven yards a game. Fresno's fifth at three fifty one, defensive yards per game, Oregon State's second at three hundred and forty five. Fresno State's fourth at three eighty four. Wow. So throughout the course of the season, I mean, Oregon State's been really good on both sides of the ball. Fresno's been inconsistent. They've lost two in a row. that that's more of the logic behind I guess my pick here. yeah, I think the Beaves have a lot of fun after dark this Saturday. The Beaves Halloween and Fresno. Where else would you want to be? I know them boys wish they were in Corvallis 'cause a way better place. I'd be probably anywhere else in California, to be honest. Besides like Oakland probably. No, I'll take Oakland. No Oakland's much better. There's stuff to do in Oakland. You might get shot, but there's stuff to do in Oakland. You can find stuff to do in Oakland. There's Absolutely. You cannot find anything in Fresno. The fact that they built a college there to me is crazy. It was it seems like almost like a punishment. The fact they produce NFL players is also kind of crazy to me. But a really good one. Derek Carr, Devontae Adams. Derek Carr is not really good. Devontae Adams is really good. All right. But you look up Fresno and the first thing that pops up is a picture of some water park type shit. So that that's how you know your city's a dump. I just want to say real quick I 'cause I just saw it week nine is coming up. Week nine. Dude, yeah, I'm not gonna lie, cruised. I'm pretty sure we got one. Please, y'all stick around for college basketball. Please. Yeah, after you coming next week. Including this week of games. We only got four more. Wow, man. Until the flex game. And then and then we'll get a we'll get a like hopefully another week with Boise State being in the playoff and We've got bowl season too. Or Oregon State. Oregon State. Yeah, yeah. Whichever one hope. Bowl season is not far away. It's not, man. We what many team how many teams have? I think we can guarantee we know that well Boise is already in a bowl game. This is actually like twenty three years in a row, I think they've been bowl eligible. Let me pull that stat up, but also Boise State, Oregon State, I think Texas State is gonna make a bowl game. Fresno State should. Colorado State could squeak one out. Yeah. I think that's maybe a state. It also depends because these schools do have to play each other. That's right. Yeah. So yeah, I guess you're right. Yeah there's guaranteed. I forgot about that. Guaranteed three teams are going to a bowl game. Yeah. This is true. Hopefully. There's nothing. First year of conference, that's pretty good. Bang. I mean, it's also small, so it's easier for them to beat each other up. Yeah. Do you want to get to player of the week and then wrap it up? this is let me find this thing really quick. Is Bowl eligible for twenty nine consecutive seasons, second longest streak in the nation? Dang, we approaching Undertaker numbers, man. Undertaker numbers. But I was six years off. Shout out Shout out the Broncos. Texas State. Texas State. All right. Yeah, I think we'll move on over. That concludes the pick segment. Bret, who is your Pac twelve player of the week this week? Making his return from a hamstring injury. Hoss Haney. Congratulations, brother. didn't miss a beat when he came back. we talked about five total touchdowns, one interception, three hundred and thirty-three total yards. Absolutely willed the Colorado State offense to that win. I think he had eighty five yards on the ground too. I think that was only passing yards. Yeah, that's only passing yards, sorry. So yeah, additional eighty five on the ground. My apologies. But yeah, that's again, insanely impressive coming off. Four weeks missed again where your team lost all four. They a bye week too. That's right. So again, man, a spot where Maybe you're expecting some mistakes. He played amazing. Absolutely. You can't ask for anything more out of that. So a player of the week, Hossaney. Bang. Welcome back, Hoss. Is he the first two tie pack 12 player of the week? No, I think Jesse Legree's done that already. Really? Or Brayden Atkinson. I feel like we're too woke and we haven't picked Jesse Legree enough. I I know we picked him No, you're right. No, we did 'cause he was on the thumbnail a couple weeks ago. yeah. And then and then he was on the one that I made on PowerPoint. you're right. So I think I think just the Brett a known avid PowerPoint. Love PowerPoint. That's what's crazy is that that video blew up six. That was our that that was our blow up episode. It was like before this last Jess Leg dude, maybe it's Jess Legree. Every time Jess Ligree is on the thumbnail, Jesse Legree effects. Yeah. Just added like someone. Just go just go ahead and throw him in there. He re signed. All right. But I think that'll do it.
