- 0:04Speaker 1: I meant to ask you if you could pick your
- 0:07Speaker 1: favorite car of the year you're born.
- 0:09Speaker 2: Yes, Oh that's a good idea. Yes, are you just
- 0:13Speaker 2: typing in.
- 0:14Speaker 1: Nineteen forty two? You could probably do that? That Mercedes
- 0:17Speaker 1: at Hitler Drow during the war.
- 0:24Speaker 2: That is funny.
- 0:25Speaker 1: Shit, what what do you got? I don't know.
- 0:29Speaker 2: I've literally just typed in nineteen eighty seven, hold in
- 0:32Speaker 2: Commodore because that's probably what it's gonna be. Really, No,
- 0:35Speaker 2: I know what it is now. It's the F forty Ferrari.
- 0:37Speaker 1: Oh that's an easy owner.
- 0:39Speaker 2: Yeah, and it's nineteen eighty seven, which was my year
- 0:41Speaker 2: of birth. So yeah, that's that's me. That would actually
- 0:45Speaker 2: suit me just nicely.
- 0:46Speaker 1: I'm having a log. What was yours?
- 0:49Speaker 2: Like the horse and cart?
- 0:53Speaker 1: All right, mate, crack in the little jokes like go tod,
- 0:59Speaker 1: this's great joke on the podcast Halls and Cart. Can
- 1:03Speaker 1: I deliver it again? I was thinking the Bentley Mulsane Turbo.
- 1:08Speaker 1: Oh yeah, yeah, it's the one. It's got to be
- 1:10Speaker 1: the one with the dual headlight. It's not the big
- 1:12Speaker 1: square ones because they look shitty. Yep, they do kind
- 1:15Speaker 1: of look cool in a way, like eighties cool, like
- 1:18Speaker 1: Jack Thompson smoking on the bonnet call. But I reckon there.
- 1:22Speaker 2: They were James bonded as well, I think, oh from memory. Yeah,
- 1:26Speaker 2: I'm just having a look now. So it says Bond
- 1:28Speaker 2: purchases a Mulsan turbo in John Gardener's eighty four James
- 1:32Speaker 2: Bond novel Role of Honor.
- 1:33Speaker 1: Okay, now I've fallen asleep.
- 1:35Speaker 2: Yeah, but you know the interesting thing with with those cars,
- 1:39Speaker 2: and that one in particular, the Bentley actually had a
- 1:42Speaker 2: Rolls Royce engine, and Rolls Royce goes to so much
- 1:45Speaker 2: effort with their engine sizes that it was a six
- 1:48Speaker 2: point seven five liter V eight. How precise is that?
- 1:52Speaker 1: It's crazy. Yeah, my grandma used to be like head
- 1:55Speaker 1: inspector of during the war, like they used to put
- 1:58Speaker 1: them in aeroplanes and stuff. She used to going over
- 2:00Speaker 1: people's work. You might have known her, like you probably
- 2:02Speaker 1: worked with her back in the day. Do you know what?
- 2:05Speaker 1: I realized we haven't even done an intro yet. And
- 2:07Speaker 1: last week I kind of give you the big sort
- 2:10Speaker 1: of hey guys, it's Paul from car Expert dot com
- 2:13Speaker 1: dot you, and then I just get I just mentioned
- 2:15Speaker 1: my own name, and then we move on and you
- 2:17Speaker 1: just make some terrible remarks. I go home and cry
- 2:21Speaker 1: to my wife.
- 2:21Speaker 2: Yeah, hey, it's Gordy from the radio station. That's it.
- 2:26Speaker 1: Hi, my name's Paul from Car Expert. I've also signed
- 2:29Speaker 1: with Channel seven. Actually, you know what, I've signed my
- 2:34Speaker 1: own deal. It's with SBS. And I can't tell you this,
- 2:39Speaker 1: but I've signed to SBS. And it's a car show, obviously,
- 2:43Speaker 1: and it's me and leland Chin in the back of
- 2:46Speaker 1: various cars and we just make out for twenty minutes,
- 2:50Speaker 1: and then she finally looks out the window and says,
- 2:54Speaker 1: I wish I went electric. And I'm like, you're talking
- 2:56Speaker 1: about the car, right, and she just pauses for a
- 2:58Speaker 1: long while and goes, no, I we got to talk
- 3:05Speaker 1: about some cars that have been released straight up direct
- 3:09Speaker 1: from the LA Auto Show. The Porsche RS or the
- 3:12Speaker 1: Porsche Cayman RS.
- 3:14Speaker 2: Yes, the GT four RS. I mean they revealed the
- 3:17Speaker 2: GT four version of the Cayman, which existed in the
- 3:20Speaker 2: previous Cayman. But now the seven one eight is bringing
- 3:23Speaker 2: I think it's the world's worst kept secret, but an
- 3:25Speaker 2: RS version of the GT four and.
- 3:28Speaker 1: The thing that blows me away.
- 3:29Speaker 2: They kind of always said that the four leter wouldn't
- 3:31Speaker 2: fit into their and it's it's kind of familiar with
- 3:35Speaker 2: things like the nine to eleven GT three cup car
- 3:37Speaker 2: and the series production nine to eleven GT three, which
- 3:41Speaker 2: means three hundred and sixty eight kilowatts of power and
- 3:43Speaker 2: four hundred and fifty meters of talk like it is
- 3:47Speaker 2: just genuinely insanity in a car that weighs what fourteen
- 3:50Speaker 2: hundred kilos and it looks, it looks so menacing.
- 3:53Speaker 1: So good. They've literally put a nine to eleven engine
- 3:56Speaker 1: in this right, yeah.
- 3:57Speaker 2: I mean it's the four liter effectively out of the
- 4:00Speaker 2: GT three, so it's very similar. And this is I
- 4:04Speaker 2: guess this is what you'd call a mid engine car
- 4:07Speaker 2: because it doesn't actually have an engine in the back
- 4:09Speaker 2: like a nine to eleven does. So it is quite
- 4:12Speaker 2: a complex machine in terms of the way they've got
- 4:14Speaker 2: it set up. And it's up almost sixty kilowats and
- 4:16Speaker 2: twenty new meters over the standard GT four and I
- 4:19Speaker 2: think the best bit is at revs to nine thousand rpm,
- 4:21Speaker 2: which is just amazing.
- 4:23Speaker 1: See Porscha purists will hate me saying this, but everyone
- 4:25Speaker 1: was like, there's no way a Cayman will ever be
- 4:29Speaker 1: a nine to eleven, especially like a nine eleven GT three,
- 4:31Speaker 1: But we've found that contender. I mean, it's essentially the
- 4:34Speaker 1: same one. I'm a big fan of the Cayman's. I've
- 4:36Speaker 1: always been called the poor man's Porsche. I just think,
- 4:39Speaker 1: I mean, you've got effectively you've got you've got this
- 4:41Speaker 1: mid engine car, and it's superior to a nine to eleven.
- 4:45Speaker 2: Yeah, I mean, if we're honest with ourselves, aside from
- 4:48Speaker 2: it not having four seats, you've got a car here
- 4:52Speaker 2: that I think, with the right driver would probably outperform
- 4:56Speaker 2: pretty much every nine to eleven that isn't like a
- 4:58Speaker 2: proper GT three or a GT three R rare. And
- 5:01Speaker 2: you can see that Porsche has put a lot of
- 5:03Speaker 2: effort into this. It's not just a car for the
- 5:05Speaker 2: sake of being a car. They've cut thirty five kilos
- 5:07Speaker 2: out of this compared to a non RSGT four, and
- 5:12Speaker 2: a non RSGT four was still a light and fast car.
- 5:17Speaker 2: So extensive use of carbon. I think it just looks
- 5:20Speaker 2: absolutely awesome and I just can't wait for it to
- 5:23Speaker 2: get here. But I don't know if you've seen the price.
- 5:25Speaker 2: Have you seen the price?
- 5:26Speaker 1: No, I'm trying to look for that now.
- 5:28Speaker 2: No, let me tell you. So basically, the Cayman starts
- 5:32Speaker 2: at somewhere around the one hundred and something thousand dollar mark.
- 5:38Speaker 2: The GT four is two hundred and eleven thousand dollars.
- 5:41Speaker 2: How much do you reckon this is?
- 5:43Speaker 1: I'm going to say uploads of about four fitty.
- 5:46Speaker 2: Oh, this is three hundred, three hundred thousand, three hundred
- 5:50Speaker 2: thousand and eight hundred dollars. It's a big step up
- 5:53Speaker 2: because it's what ninety thousand dollars more than a GT four,
- 5:56Speaker 2: So that is a whole heap of cash, and that's
- 5:59Speaker 2: before on road costs. It could even be four fifty
- 6:01Speaker 2: by the time you add luxury car tacks and the
- 6:03Speaker 2: other stuff they indecently take out of our pockets whenever
- 6:07Speaker 2: we want to get something nice in this country.
- 6:09Speaker 1: I think I still think it's a better deal than say,
- 6:11Speaker 1: looking at a fairly top spec nine to eleven.
- 6:13Speaker 2: Well, yeah, I mean a Carera S is probably around
- 6:16Speaker 2: that three hundred thousand dollar mark, So you know, it
- 6:19Speaker 2: is good value for money in that sense. And yeah,
- 6:22Speaker 2: it just looks awesome. So what are your thoughts on this?
- 6:25Speaker 2: Though it's only available with the PDK no manual transmission.
- 6:29Speaker 1: Really, that's weird.
- 6:32Speaker 2: Is that not manual?
- 6:34Speaker 1: Manual?
- 6:35Speaker 2: I know, it looks like a manual, and then you
- 6:37Speaker 2: assume in, Yeah, zoom in on the pedals and you'll
- 6:39Speaker 2: see it's missing a pedal. So because you're listening to
- 6:43Speaker 2: this and not watching it, that was Gordy showing me
- 6:45Speaker 2: a picture.
- 6:45Speaker 1: Of GC four US.
- 6:47Speaker 2: So I'm like, maybe we should explain what you were
- 6:49Speaker 2: just doing. Yeah, yeah, it's deceiving because it looks like
- 6:52Speaker 2: a manual. But yeah, it's just got two pedals.
- 6:54Speaker 1: So wow. I mean it's becoming more and more commonplace though,
- 6:57Speaker 1: isn't it.
- 6:58Speaker 2: Yeah, yeah, absolutely so. I mean to put the times
- 7:01Speaker 2: into context, it was able to lap the Nurburg Ring,
- 7:07Speaker 2: the twenty point eight kilometer circuit in seven minutes and
- 7:10Speaker 2: nine seconds. They also did a slightly shorter version of
- 7:14Speaker 2: the circuit which takes two different measuring points, and that
- 7:18Speaker 2: was seven minutes four So it's about twenty three seconds
- 7:21Speaker 2: quicker than a standard GT four around the nurburg Rings,
- 7:23Speaker 2: so bloody quick.
- 7:25Speaker 1: Yeah, let me tell you that that is a proper
- 7:28Speaker 1: race car right there. Yeah, I'm kind of jealous. I
- 7:31Speaker 1: got to see the what is it? The RAMTRX did
- 7:35Speaker 1: you been driving the fifteen hundred. Yes, yes, massive car.
- 7:38Speaker 1: I think we briefly talked about it last week. But giz,
- 7:41Speaker 1: you looked like a real country boy in this thing.
- 7:44Speaker 1: You really look like you're enjoying that.
- 7:46Speaker 2: I am an absolute bogan. I didn't enjoy filling it
- 7:49Speaker 2: because it has like a one hundred and twenty five
- 7:52Speaker 2: liter tank and I used half the tank and I thought,
- 7:55Speaker 2: I'll just go fill it up. And I was filling
- 7:58Speaker 2: it and I thought, has this got like a giant
- 8:00Speaker 2: hole in it that I'm not aware of? Because I
- 8:02Speaker 2: got to about the sixty meter mark of fuel and
- 8:04Speaker 2: it's still going And I'm like, okay, at two dollars
- 8:07Speaker 2: a leter plus, this is going to really set me
- 8:09Speaker 2: back something. But I just want to put this car
- 8:12Speaker 2: into context. So the RAM fifteen hundred is is what
- 8:15Speaker 2: they call a mid sized truck in the States, and
- 8:18Speaker 2: mid size is kind of funny because it's absolutely it's
- 8:22Speaker 2: fucking enormous to something like a Ranger.
- 8:25Speaker 1: You could fit in that tray. To give us an idea,
- 8:28Speaker 1: what sort of car do you reckon you could fit
- 8:30Speaker 1: in that tray?
- 8:31Speaker 2: I think you, I genuinely think you could fit a
- 8:33Speaker 2: smart Car in the tray.
- 8:34Speaker 1: Oh god, yeah, I reckon you can fit a Zuki
- 8:36Speaker 1: Swift yet like it is, it is huge.
- 8:38Speaker 2: To put the size into context, it's about six meters long,
- 8:42Speaker 2: it's two point two meters wide mainly due to the mirrors,
- 8:45Speaker 2: and six meters long makes it almost a meter long
- 8:48Speaker 2: than a Ford Ranger, longer than a Hord Ranger in
- 8:51Speaker 2: terms of heights. It's too big to fit into most
- 8:54Speaker 2: underground car parks, so I wasn't able to leave it
- 8:57Speaker 2: at home because I couldn't get it into our car park.
- 9:00Speaker 2: But the most impressive part is the engine. So it's
- 9:03Speaker 2: powered by a Hellcat V eight and for those who
- 9:07Speaker 2: don't know what that is, it's basically the six point
- 9:09Speaker 2: two Leader Supercharge V eight that they use in things
- 9:13Speaker 2: like the Charger and the Challenger, and it just it
- 9:17Speaker 2: shouldn't exist because that engine is absolutely monstrous. We're talking,
- 9:22Speaker 2: you know, enough to do zero to one hundred and
- 9:24Speaker 2: nunder five seconds and it weighs like two point six tons,
- 9:26Speaker 2: so it is an absolute beast, and the sound is
- 9:30Speaker 2: next level. The supercharger wine is incredible. It is just yeah,
- 9:34Speaker 2: it does not put a foot wrong.
- 9:35Speaker 1: I'm looking forward to this car in a big way.
- 9:37Speaker 1: It's exciting that they've done this. What's your thoughts on
- 9:40Speaker 1: the interior, because I'm going to throw something at you,
- 9:42Speaker 1: And I did see the interior in this, and I
- 9:46Speaker 1: think it actually, despite what I'm about to say, it
- 9:48Speaker 1: looks pretty good. American cars, especially ones with attitude, say
- 9:52Speaker 1: muscle cars make shit interior.
- 9:55Speaker 2: Yes, see, generally that's true. The interior in this I
- 9:59Speaker 2: think was pretty goo. The reason I say that is
- 10:01Speaker 2: the big trucks have like giant glove boxes. They're very spacious.
- 10:05Speaker 2: They've got this huge vertical screen inside it. There's like
- 10:10Speaker 2: a TRX button, so you press that if you want
- 10:13Speaker 2: it to do stupid things. And they also brand everything.
- 10:16Speaker 2: So there's a wireless phone charger, and in any other
- 10:19Speaker 2: car it would just be a wireless phone charger, but
- 10:22Speaker 2: in this it's called a RAM charger, and I'm like, yeah,
- 10:26Speaker 2: I just want to put my mate. Yeah. And in
- 10:30Speaker 2: terms of the engine, five hundred and twenty three kills
- 10:32Speaker 2: eight hundred and eighty two meters, but yeah, look I
- 10:35Speaker 2: like the interior, but are you gonna tell me you
- 10:36Speaker 2: don't look?
- 10:37Speaker 1: I don't mind it in this, I don't mind it. Actually,
- 10:40Speaker 1: I think it's pretty cool from memory when you're sitting
- 10:43Speaker 1: in it, it legit looks like a laundroom.
- 10:47Speaker 2: Yes, it is exactly that.
- 10:49Speaker 1: It's massive, yeap. And the branding just over the center
- 10:53Speaker 1: console there, just on the arm rest there, that's that's cool.
- 10:56Speaker 2: Yeah. They've got like a little build plate that tells
- 10:58Speaker 2: you the VIN number the engine, so it tells you
- 11:00Speaker 2: the supercharger size, the amount of horsepower that it makes.
- 11:04Speaker 2: The thing I love the most though, the little plaque
- 11:06Speaker 2: says something like designed in wherever It's designed Michigan, except
- 11:12Speaker 2: they forget to mention it's actually built in Mexico. So
- 11:14Speaker 2: this big ass American truck is built in Mexico, which
- 11:19Speaker 2: is kind of just a bit funny, but yeah, look
- 11:22Speaker 2: at I think the big deal with this is they're
- 11:24Speaker 2: not built in right hand drive, so when they come
- 11:26Speaker 2: to Australia these have to be converted to right hand drive.
- 11:29Speaker 2: And the company that does this is based out of
- 11:31Speaker 2: Queensland and it's called oz MV, so Australian manufactured Vehicles.
- 11:37Speaker 3: Thing.
- 11:38Speaker 2: The big thing about it though, is they've just announced
- 11:40Speaker 2: to deal with my car, which is the old Kmart
- 11:42Speaker 2: Tyron auto service name. Yeah, so you can get this
- 11:45Speaker 2: thing serviced across the country. How much do you think
- 11:48Speaker 2: this costs? By the way, so the price is about
- 11:51Speaker 2: seventy thousand US dollars in the States.
- 11:53Speaker 1: Just a quick one. Don't you find it hilarious that
- 11:55Speaker 1: you can take this big ass Ram into what used
- 11:58Speaker 1: to be came out tired auto for a service? Yeah? Exactly.
- 12:03Speaker 1: Can you imagine that when you were driving along? I
- 12:06Speaker 1: got to ask and you're looking at, say, some dude
- 12:09Speaker 1: in a you know, a gim Bean button up shirt
- 12:13Speaker 1: and a Monster Energy flat cap and he's in his
- 12:16Speaker 1: Ford raptor were you listening to a bit.
- 12:18Speaker 2: Of this is Paul just cruising around?
- 12:22Speaker 3: Oh?
- 12:22Speaker 1: My god, warm summer's even Yeah, bounce, I've got a
- 12:28Speaker 1: met up with We were craving asleep with my sister,
- 12:33Speaker 1: so we to turn staring. I feel strangely racist right
- 12:37Speaker 1: now too. The boredom aver Turco and he began to
- 12:42Speaker 1: speak and then he just spat out some tobacco tobacco juice.
- 12:47Speaker 1: Yeah all right, So look, I think I think the
- 12:53Speaker 1: Ram TRX fifteen hundred is incredible. I think it's an
- 12:56Speaker 1: important car.
- 12:58Speaker 2: Well, how much is it till me?
- 12:59Speaker 1: Oh, I'm going to say around about one seventy five.
- 13:04Speaker 2: Okay, so depending on which one you get. They had
- 13:08Speaker 2: one car there which was the launch edition. When I
- 13:10Speaker 2: went to pick this up sticker to ninety. Yeah, it's insane,
- 13:16Speaker 2: isn't it. So I'll put that into context as well.
- 13:19Speaker 2: So basically when they buy these, they buy them from
- 13:22Speaker 2: dealers in the States and over there because of the
- 13:25Speaker 2: chip shortage, there's a huge demand for cars. Dealers are
- 13:28Speaker 2: allowed to list cars for whatever they want over there,
- 13:30Speaker 2: and they're all charging around twenty to thirty thousand US
- 13:33Speaker 2: dollars above sticker price. So they buy it, They pay
- 13:37Speaker 2: GST and import tariffs when it comes to Australia, plus
- 13:40Speaker 2: luxury car tax I think is applicable to these as well.
- 13:43Speaker 2: They then convert it. Then when they sell it, you
- 13:47Speaker 2: have to pay luxury car tax and all the other
- 13:49Speaker 2: bullshit on it as well. So the government is double
- 13:52Speaker 2: dipping on these, and the end cost is mainly all
- 13:56Speaker 2: just fees that you're giving to the government for no
- 13:58Speaker 2: good reason.
- 14:00Speaker 1: Going to buy this. This is going to be bought
- 14:02Speaker 1: by the property developer, right the trade who's not really
- 14:07Speaker 1: a trading anymore, is doing pretty well for himself or
- 14:09Speaker 1: the CEO who wants to appeal to the common man,
- 14:13Speaker 1: or Paul driving around giving it a bit of I
- 14:20Speaker 1: could do that all day long.
- 14:22Speaker 2: I know you could.
- 14:22Speaker 1: I could just see you in the cubra. Excuse me,
- 14:25Speaker 1: does anyone know the quickest way to Daniliguan? You got?
- 14:32Speaker 1: We should finish the show with that. I love that.
- 14:36Speaker 2: I'd actually I'll tell you what if if you have
- 14:39Speaker 2: bought one of these, or you know someone that has,
- 14:41Speaker 2: please send us an email to contact at the driveshow
- 14:43Speaker 2: dot com toda you, because I want to know who
- 14:45Speaker 2: is buying these, because genuinely I would love to own one,
- 14:48Speaker 2: because it is so offensive and I really did enjoy
- 14:52Speaker 2: pulling up next to people in like Rangers that were
- 14:55Speaker 2: lifted and with their two leader Diesel engines. This thing
- 14:58Speaker 2: just takes that that the measuring game up to just
- 15:02Speaker 2: a very unique level.
- 15:03Speaker 1: A compensate.
- 15:05Speaker 2: You don't want to be at the urinal next to
- 15:07Speaker 2: one of.
- 15:07Speaker 1: These, Yeah, it's it is a car that just stands out.
- 15:12Speaker 1: Could you live with it as a daily No?
- 15:15Speaker 2: Because it's impossible to park anywhere. So yeah, unfortunately not
- 15:19Speaker 2: in all reality. If you don't go for the stupid
- 15:21Speaker 2: t Rex, you can get just a RAM fifteen hundred,
- 15:23Speaker 2: they have like a four and a half ton break
- 15:25Speaker 2: towing capacity. Even if you tow three and a half
- 15:28Speaker 2: tons with just a standard TOBAL, you will not notice
- 15:33Speaker 2: a caravan on the back of it, whereas toe three
- 15:35Speaker 2: and a half tons with a two letter forward ranger
- 15:37Speaker 2: and you will know that there's a three and a
- 15:39Speaker 2: half ton caravan on the back. So that is what
- 15:41Speaker 2: people are using them for, generally for towing and just
- 15:45Speaker 2: for country driving. For a country drive, they're actually pretty
- 15:47Speaker 2: efficient for naturally aspirated V eight. The tower Rex is
- 15:50Speaker 2: just never efficient, but the standard RAM fifteen hundred ACTS
- 15:53Speaker 2: is actually sort of half decent.
- 15:54Speaker 1: It's the end of the world car the car actually
- 15:57Speaker 1: it's the car you jump in when lock down four happens.
- 16:03Speaker 2: And you want to drive to Tasmania, like across the water.
- 16:06Speaker 1: He interesting one pick story this week with the government
- 16:08Speaker 1: and now seeing funding for the electric car market. One
- 16:12Speaker 1: thing I wanted to ask you, and this is what
- 16:13Speaker 1: I reckon a lot of consumers would ask when it
- 16:16Speaker 1: comes to electric cars, right is how far does it
- 16:19Speaker 1: take me? And how can I charge it? And is
- 16:22Speaker 1: this about to get easier? Because I feel like we're
- 16:24Speaker 1: going to talk Ionic five in a moment. And one
- 16:27Speaker 1: of the big turn offs I found with people asking
- 16:31Speaker 1: questions about it and stuff like that is, Oh, we're
- 16:33Speaker 1: just not set up. We're not set up yet for
- 16:36Speaker 1: the electric We don't know, you know, people are afraid,
- 16:39Speaker 1: they don't know where to charge it and whatnot. Are
- 16:41Speaker 1: we near the point where where we can finally have
- 16:45Speaker 1: electric cars in commonplace?
- 16:47Speaker 2: Yeah, Look, that question that people ask, it's a bit
- 16:50Speaker 2: of a it's a bit of a silly question because ultimately,
- 16:54Speaker 2: when you own an EV, you don't really think about
- 16:57Speaker 2: that stuff as much. And I can understand people apprehensive
- 17:00Speaker 2: before going into an EV. But I own a Tesla
- 17:04Speaker 2: and do you Yes, it's a Model three performance.
- 17:08Speaker 1: Is Avatasla with the crazy zero to one hundred times.
- 17:13Speaker 2: It's quick, but it's not that quick.
- 17:16Speaker 1: I feel like that's not the only time you've said
- 17:17Speaker 1: that sense.
- 17:18Speaker 2: No, definitely not so. Yeah. The government has come out
- 17:21Speaker 2: and said that it's tipping in two hundred and fifty
- 17:23Speaker 2: million dollars into a future Fuels and Vehicle strategy, of
- 17:26Speaker 2: which one hundred and seventy eight million is ear mark
- 17:29Speaker 2: to support rollout of infrastructure. It reckons it will make
- 17:32Speaker 2: twenty six hundred jobs over three years while it's doing this,
- 17:36Speaker 2: and it thinks that by twenty thirty thirty percent of
- 17:39Speaker 2: new car sales will be battery, electrical, plug in hybrid
- 17:42Speaker 2: or hydrogen. So they want to add fifty thousand charging
- 17:47Speaker 2: stations in homes across Australia and also roll out public
- 17:51Speaker 2: charging infrastructure. It is ambitious and I think it's great,
- 17:54Speaker 2: but it depends on the charges they're rolling out, So
- 17:57Speaker 2: you've got it's a bit hard to explain because if
- 18:01Speaker 2: you fill your car with petrol, it's basically the same
- 18:04Speaker 2: give or take wherever you go. When you put the
- 18:06Speaker 2: thing in, squeeze the trigger, you know that it'll be
- 18:09Speaker 2: fall in about sort of five minutes. Well, with evs
- 18:12Speaker 2: you've got different charge rates, so you can have a
- 18:15Speaker 2: ten out plug which is just like a socket at home,
- 18:17Speaker 2: and that will take around twenty four hours to charge
- 18:19Speaker 2: a car from empty, or you can go all the
- 18:21Speaker 2: way to a supercharger that charges within twenty minutes. So
- 18:24Speaker 2: they haven't specified exactly what they're rolling out, where they're
- 18:27Speaker 2: rolling it out, and which cars it will support, so
- 18:30Speaker 2: you know, typical government, it is all very sort of
- 18:32Speaker 2: flaky and very vague as well, which I just don't love.
- 18:38Speaker 1: I feel like it's also being said for the sake
- 18:41Speaker 1: of saying it, because at the moment that is the
- 18:43Speaker 1: sort of subject that is popular at to tackle. Yep,
- 18:46Speaker 1: and yeah, you're right with the superchargers. I mean people,
- 18:48Speaker 1: I think generally people want to know, like's if it's
- 18:52Speaker 1: a twenty minute job that can sort of fit into
- 18:54Speaker 1: their lifestyle. My opinion on electric cars since since driving
- 18:57Speaker 1: one has changed, I think that people well, eventually it's
- 19:01Speaker 1: just different ways of doing familiar things, and I think
- 19:03Speaker 1: people's lifestyle will change around that.
- 19:05Speaker 2: Yeah, I mean, that's the thing. Once you own one,
- 19:07Speaker 2: you'll realize that you really never really panic about stuff.
- 19:11Speaker 2: You plan ahead, You charge if you need to. But
- 19:13Speaker 2: even living in an apartment, we've got the charging setup
- 19:15Speaker 2: and it's fine. I mean, the government's saying here that
- 19:18Speaker 2: it will roll out fifty thousand household charges and a
- 19:21Speaker 2: thousand public fast charging stations, and they reckon it'll cover
- 19:26Speaker 2: eighty four percent of the population. So that's going to
- 19:28Speaker 2: be enough for city folks. But if you are traveling
- 19:30Speaker 2: into the country or you do a lot of country driving,
- 19:33Speaker 2: it's something that I think we're still not there yet
- 19:35Speaker 2: in terms of range. There are cars coming, and I
- 19:37Speaker 2: think by twenty thirty will well and truly have cars
- 19:39Speaker 2: that will get us the long range that some of
- 19:42Speaker 2: these people want, and also trucking and stuff like that.
- 19:45Speaker 2: So I don't know, let's see where it takes us.
- 19:48Speaker 2: But I'm not going to hold my breath because knowing
- 19:51Speaker 2: the government. You know, the thing that kind of annoys
- 19:53Speaker 2: me with any government is that when they commit to
- 19:55Speaker 2: a project like this, if the next government comes in
- 19:57Speaker 2: and says, nah, it's shit, we're going to roll it back,
- 20:00Speaker 2: you end up with a turd of a project. And
- 20:01Speaker 2: I think that happened with NBN, where it was going
- 20:04Speaker 2: to be fiber to the home, then all of a
- 20:07Speaker 2: sudden it was fiber to like halfway to the home,
- 20:10Speaker 2: and you've ended up with this colossal shit storm of
- 20:13Speaker 2: an Internet network in Australia that could have actually been good.
- 20:16Speaker 1: I think going forward though, in terms of saying something
- 20:18Speaker 1: like apartment blocks, I know that supercharging stations are becoming
- 20:23Speaker 1: will be a lot more commonplace in those.
- 20:25Speaker 2: Yeah. Absolutely, and that's why we're setting up. I'm the
- 20:27Speaker 2: chair of our Owner's Committee and at our apartment building,
- 20:30Speaker 2: and we're setting it up in such a way that
- 20:32Speaker 2: if an owner invests in ev charging, it will increase
- 20:34Speaker 2: the value of their property. The only downside to shared
- 20:37Speaker 2: spaces is you probably do what I do when I
- 20:40Speaker 2: get home. If you park the car and a visitor park,
- 20:43Speaker 2: you're like, ah, I can't be bothered going back down
- 20:45Speaker 2: to move it.
- 20:46Speaker 1: That's not what I do when I get home.
- 20:47Speaker 2: But that's right, that's what I do.
- 20:50Speaker 1: So there is a photo of you next to my bed,
- 20:53Speaker 1: and I do crank up a bit of Shineada Connor.
- 20:55Speaker 1: Nothing compares to you.
- 21:00Speaker 2: Anyway, but yeah, I think that look. Eventually, we'll see
- 21:04Speaker 2: how it pans out. But yeah, we've got to do
- 21:05Speaker 2: something because doing nothing really isn't working.
- 21:08Speaker 1: People would be seeing a very sexy electric all over
- 21:12Speaker 1: social media, the Rivian, which is an electric U. It
- 21:17Speaker 1: looks beautiful, it's got these kind of crazy headlights. Basically,
- 21:21Speaker 1: those cars that they're looking at are not real cars.
- 21:24Speaker 1: They're pre production cars by the looks of it being
- 21:26Speaker 1: given to influencers. But yeah, this is a strange company
- 21:29Speaker 1: and they're making some strange moves.
- 21:31Speaker 2: It's just insane. So they floated on the stock market
- 21:35Speaker 2: at I think seventy dollars a share. Right now, at
- 21:38Speaker 2: the time of reading this, they're at one hundred and
- 21:41Speaker 2: seventy two dollars a share, so they've almost tripled market
- 21:44Speaker 2: cap of one hundred and fifty billion dollars. This is
- 21:49Speaker 2: a company that has barely delivered any cars at all.
- 21:53Speaker 2: I absolutely love them. I think they look fantastic. And
- 21:55Speaker 2: I'm going to put that into context. One hundred and
- 21:57Speaker 2: fifty billion dollars is worth eighty five billion, and Ford
- 22:02Speaker 2: is worth seventy seven billion. So this company that's delivered
- 22:04Speaker 2: virtually nothing is now worth double or triple that. The
- 22:08Speaker 2: other thing that's really fascinating as well, Amazon owns a
- 22:11Speaker 2: big chunk of the company, and so does Ford. And
- 22:14Speaker 2: also further to that, Tesla is worth around one trillion dollars.
- 22:18Speaker 1: Hey, we should talk Ionic five. What do you reckon? Yes,
- 22:22Speaker 1: let's do it.
- 22:22Speaker 3: The twenty twenty two Yunday Ionic five Yunday's Bold Cutting
- 22:27Speaker 3: Edge EV price to start from seventy one nine hundred
- 22:30Speaker 3: dollars for the two wheel drive or for the one
- 22:33Speaker 3: we reviewed at seventy five nine hundred dollars for the
- 22:37Speaker 3: top spec all wheel drive.
- 22:38Speaker 1: So I got about two weeks with this car.
- 22:40Speaker 2: Yeah, did you like him?
- 22:43Speaker 1: Here's the thing. I think Yon Day have got it
- 22:46Speaker 1: almost perfect with this car. You could say this car
- 22:51Speaker 1: is almost brilliant. The only problem is how it drives.
- 23:00Speaker 1: Let me explain everything about this car. I actually genuinely
- 23:05Speaker 1: love right, there's no doubt. There is no doubt when
- 23:10Speaker 1: you're standing in front of it. It just stands out.
- 23:14Speaker 1: It looks, It looks crazy cool. Everything from the wheels
- 23:18Speaker 1: look great. I love it how it's they're almost flushed
- 23:20Speaker 1: with the tire and it's sort of machine yet it's
- 23:23Speaker 1: got the kind of you know, that sort of spiralized
- 23:26Speaker 1: look about them, sort of divity things. Yeah, yeah, yeah, yeah,
- 23:29Speaker 1: divity things. I'm pretty sure that's what was on the
- 23:31Speaker 1: pressure as it's in the pressure. I think they're really cool.
- 23:34Speaker 1: I think the headlights at the front, the square kind
- 23:37Speaker 1: of tron esque style headlights look really cool. Same at
- 23:40Speaker 1: the back as well, they almost look pixelated. The shape
- 23:44Speaker 1: of it's great. The interior you can tell that Juan
- 23:49Speaker 1: Day has spent a lot of time thinking about this,
- 23:53Speaker 1: and I think they've really tried to craft something kind
- 23:57Speaker 1: of different, and it's this beautiful balance of different but
- 24:02Speaker 1: not trying to scare people too much. It's really cool.
- 24:04Speaker 1: It's really minimalist. It's cool with that. It's got that
- 24:07Speaker 1: center console that you can move up and down. I've
- 24:10Speaker 1: never seen that in the car before. It's got the
- 24:12Speaker 1: glove draw.
- 24:15Speaker 2: The little sort of box type thing. Yep.
- 24:17Speaker 1: Yeah. One thing I didn't like is the drive park
- 24:20Speaker 1: reverse things. The stalk is on the right hand side
- 24:23Speaker 1: behind the wheel. The first couple of days I'm like, ah,
- 24:26Speaker 1: I'll just get used to that. That's that's fine, And
- 24:29Speaker 1: after a couple of weeks I sort of did, but
- 24:32Speaker 1: it's still that to me was just.
- 24:34Speaker 2: A bit much.
- 24:34Speaker 1: A bit Yeah, it was just a bit. But then
- 24:37Speaker 1: I was thinking, I was like, well, if they were
- 24:39Speaker 1: to move it back in the middle, then you wouldn't
- 24:41Speaker 1: have that really cool center console, which, to be honest,
- 24:44Speaker 1: I think that's more it's a little gimmicky. I think
- 24:46Speaker 1: it's cool, but the fact that the whole thing moves,
- 24:49Speaker 1: you could have just done that with the arm rest.
- 24:51Speaker 2: I think the whole concept is that you can get
- 24:54Speaker 2: out of the left hand side of the car because
- 24:57Speaker 2: you know when you're because it's all flat and it
- 24:59Speaker 2: makes it Yeah, you could just slide it out of
- 25:01Speaker 2: the way and then you just walk through. Basically, that
- 25:03Speaker 2: was the whole sort of reasoning behind it.
- 25:05Speaker 1: Why I'd know.
- 25:07Speaker 2: There are a couple of occasions where I've had to
- 25:09Speaker 2: sneak out the other side, but that's.
- 25:11Speaker 1: Usually because you're involved with a lady of the night.
- 25:16Speaker 1: You're with like Honey Brown. She was a good bloke. Actually,
- 25:20Speaker 1: I've got to meet her. We had beers afterwards. The
- 25:24Speaker 1: other thing they say.
- 25:25Speaker 2: Is you could put bags down there, and what I
- 25:27Speaker 2: thought was, well, yeah, you can put bags down there,
- 25:29Speaker 2: but when you go around a corner, the bag slides
- 25:31Speaker 2: under your legs and makes it hard to drive the car,
- 25:33Speaker 2: So I wouldn't put bags down there. Hold on, let's
- 25:37Speaker 2: give people some context here, right, So the Ionic five
- 25:40Speaker 2: is basically a car that was produced on a unique platform,
- 25:44Speaker 2: a unique EV platform. The previous evs N day had,
- 25:47Speaker 2: like the Kner and other ironic we're all shared with
- 25:50Speaker 2: internal combustion cars, whereas this one was on an EV
- 25:52Speaker 2: platform only in terms of size, it looks like a hatchback,
- 25:55Speaker 2: but it's actually quite big, and it's bigger than a
- 25:58Speaker 2: Tesla Model three. The wheelbase is longer than a palisade
- 26:02Speaker 2: and The Palisade is their big seven seater. It's priced
- 26:05Speaker 2: from just over seventy thousand dollars before on road costs,
- 26:07Speaker 2: so more expensive than an entry level Tesla Model three.
- 26:10Speaker 2: And in terms of the models, there's only two in Australia.
- 26:13Speaker 2: There's a two will drive and an all will drive,
- 26:15Speaker 2: and both of them are loaded with kits, so they
- 26:17Speaker 2: all come with all the bells and whistles.
- 26:19Speaker 1: And I think the fact that it's got such a
- 26:21Speaker 1: big drive platform is probably for me. It's probably their downfall. Like, look,
- 26:25Speaker 1: I did enjoy driving it very much, but it's not
- 26:27Speaker 1: the sort of car that you can kind of weave
- 26:29Speaker 1: in and out of busy Sydney traffic. For instance. It's
- 26:34Speaker 1: got like for a big car, at five twenty seven
- 26:36Speaker 1: roughly leaders in the boot, I kind of thought maybe
- 26:40Speaker 1: there could have been more.
- 26:41Speaker 2: Yeah, the boot's really weird because, like I now with
- 26:45Speaker 2: a kid, I just know all of the shit that
- 26:49Speaker 2: my wife packs. When we go like literally ten meters
- 26:53Speaker 2: down the road.
- 26:53Speaker 1: It's pop down and chatty, but that's pack Like we're
- 26:55Speaker 1: going to Tibet exactly.
- 26:58Speaker 2: For nine years, so I know how much of a
- 27:01Speaker 2: pram and all that shit takes up, and when I
- 27:03Speaker 2: put the PRAM and stuff in the Ionic five, I
- 27:05Speaker 2: was like, this packaging is really bad. Because the Tesla
- 27:07Speaker 2: has like forty or fifty centimeters of depth in the
- 27:11Speaker 2: boot beneath the floor that you can stash things. It's
- 27:13Speaker 2: got a front boot. The O wheel drive version of
- 27:16Speaker 2: the Ionic has a twenty seven liter front boot, so
- 27:18Speaker 2: you can literally fit a cable in there. The boot
- 27:21Speaker 2: is tiny, you know, for the space of the car.
- 27:23Speaker 2: So yeah, it's a little disappointed to that. Did you
- 27:26Speaker 2: try reclining the driver's seat or the passenger seat for
- 27:29Speaker 2: the fully reclined.
- 27:31Speaker 1: Yeah, so I thought that was really cool. It's got
- 27:33Speaker 1: this I don't know what you call. I guess it's
- 27:35Speaker 1: got this feature where while you're charging the car, the
- 27:41Speaker 1: driver's seat can fully recline pretty much flat.
- 27:44Speaker 2: It's good in theory, and I think when we go
- 27:46Speaker 2: to autonomous cars it'll be great. But it is definitely
- 27:50Speaker 2: a gimmick at the moment. I like that it's something different, though,
- 27:54Speaker 2: you know, just for the sake of being different, but.
- 27:56Speaker 1: You are it could be this sort of car Cabby's Drive.
- 27:58Speaker 1: And this isn't even a joke, Lily, It could be
- 28:00Speaker 1: the sort of car or an uber driver would drive.
- 28:02Speaker 1: That's true, and they've got a bit of downtime, they
- 28:04Speaker 1: just take a bit of a chill.
- 28:06Speaker 2: Yeah, that's true. And look in terms of the drive train,
- 28:10Speaker 2: this really sort of it's an interesting one because it
- 28:14Speaker 2: competes on a number level. So the all will drive
- 28:16Speaker 2: version will do zero to one hundred and five point
- 28:18Speaker 2: two seconds, so it's pretty quick. It's not lightning, but
- 28:21Speaker 2: it is quick. It uses a seventy two kilo what
- 28:24Speaker 2: our battery. One of the things I absolutely loved about
- 28:28Speaker 2: it is it does a thing called a vehicle to load,
- 28:31Speaker 2: and what that means is you can plug an adapter
- 28:33Speaker 2: into the power socket and it lets you have a
- 28:36Speaker 2: three point six killer what power outlet rated at fifteen amps.
- 28:39Speaker 1: Yeah. I tested that on the side of the road
- 28:41Speaker 1: and I cooked a piece of toast. How cool was that?
- 28:43Speaker 1: I cooked future toast. Yeah, it's really cool.
- 28:46Speaker 2: And I think, you know, if you look at the
- 28:49Speaker 2: applications for that, you could go camping, run like a
- 28:52Speaker 2: camp kitchen, you could run a sound system, you could
- 28:55Speaker 2: do whatever you wanted. Really and I think innovations like
- 28:58Speaker 2: that make evs really cool. But I found that it
- 29:01Speaker 2: wasn't overly efficient. It's a little different here in EVS
- 29:05Speaker 2: they measure efficiency and killer what hours per one hundred
- 29:08Speaker 2: kilometers compared to literas per one hundred kilometers in a
- 29:11Speaker 2: standard internal combustion car, and something like my Tesla, for example,
- 29:15Speaker 2: will do sixteen or seventeen killer what ours per one
- 29:17Speaker 2: hundred kilometers, And that is if I'm thrashing it. This
- 29:21Speaker 2: for me was averaging around the twenty killer what ours
- 29:23Speaker 2: per one hundred kilometer marks. So it is pretty thirsty
- 29:26Speaker 2: in the sense of it uses a lot of electricity
- 29:29Speaker 2: to move that mass around.
- 29:30Speaker 1: Trains the battery. You know what I found a little
- 29:34Speaker 1: weird was it's literally one of the most futuristic filling
- 29:38Speaker 1: cars in there yon day have it still doesn't have
- 29:43Speaker 1: wireless Apple car play.
- 29:45Speaker 2: Yeah, I know, man, that's what is going on? Does
- 29:48Speaker 2: my head? In? Hyundai offers wireless Apple car play on
- 29:51Speaker 2: entry level models and for some reason.
- 29:53Speaker 1: The cheaper model key does exactly the same thing.
- 29:55Speaker 2: The more you spend, the less you get. That stuff's annoying.
- 29:58Speaker 2: I think the key is silly as well. Why do
- 30:00Speaker 2: you need a key? Like, one of the things I
- 30:02Speaker 2: love about Tesla is you don't need a key the
- 30:05Speaker 2: new Volvo XC forty recharge, for example, or the Polestar.
- 30:09Speaker 2: To start the car, you just put your foot on
- 30:10Speaker 2: the brake and put it in drive. And it's like,
- 30:13Speaker 2: why do you need a button that says start? And
- 30:17Speaker 2: you know, it's like, okay, I'm in the car, my
- 30:19Speaker 2: foot's on the brake, of course I want to start it.
- 30:21Speaker 1: Oh right, yeah, I see what you're saying.
- 30:24Speaker 2: Yeah, it's a bit counterintuitive when it comes to that stuff.
- 30:27Speaker 1: I think keys will probably become fairly obsolete. Generally you
- 30:30Speaker 1: can do it with your phone, right, you can start
- 30:32Speaker 1: the car with your phone.
- 30:33Speaker 2: Yeah, exactly. So they don't have any of that remote
- 30:35Speaker 2: connectivity here in Australia, which I think is strange as well.
- 30:38Speaker 2: It is your most advanced car and I can't connect
- 30:40Speaker 2: to it with my phone. But look, in terms of charging,
- 30:43Speaker 2: it does up to three hundred and fifty kilowats of
- 30:45Speaker 2: DC fast charging. Currently it's capped to around two hundred
- 30:48Speaker 2: and thirty kilo wats, but that means a charge from
- 30:50Speaker 2: ten to eighty percent at a rate of about seventeen minutes,
- 30:55Speaker 2: which is pretty good I reckon for that sort of charge.
- 30:57Speaker 1: Yeah. Look, I think all up this is a great car.
- 31:00Speaker 1: I love it. I genuinely love it. It changed my
- 31:02Speaker 1: attitude a little bit, quite a lot actually to electric cars.
- 31:06Speaker 1: I would have one of these as a daily driver.
- 31:08Speaker 1: The fact that I don't, I thought to myself, I
- 31:11Speaker 1: need to change that, because it makes so much more
- 31:13Speaker 1: sense to have an electric car as a daily driver
- 31:15Speaker 1: and then have the fun, petrol guzzler, dirty Porsche on
- 31:20Speaker 1: the weekend. Yeah.
- 31:23Speaker 2: I'm with you. I'm with you on that. And like,
- 31:25Speaker 2: this car has some pretty cool stuff in it, like
- 31:27Speaker 2: the they call it an E pedal. I think it's
- 31:30Speaker 2: called no I pedal.
- 31:32Speaker 1: So with the plus and minors.
- 31:34Speaker 2: Yeah, but so you've got plus and minus on the
- 31:36Speaker 2: steering wheel, which allows you to change the region level.
- 31:39Speaker 2: But if you keep going back beyond the hardest region level,
- 31:43Speaker 2: it does what they do in the Nissan Leaf and
- 31:45Speaker 2: in the Tesla cars where it will allay you a
- 31:47Speaker 2: roll to a complete stop and it will then hold
- 31:50Speaker 2: the car so you don't need to use the brake.
- 31:51Speaker 1: Yeah. Yeah, actually that was said on this too.
- 31:53Speaker 2: Yeah, it's tuned perfectly. So it's tuned really well. And
- 31:57Speaker 2: when you said it didn't drive that well for me,
- 31:59Speaker 2: that extended to the ride Hyunda used to do all
- 32:02Speaker 2: of their right in handling tuning for Australian cars in Australia,
- 32:05Speaker 2: so you'd get the right feel behind the wheel. This
- 32:07Speaker 2: doesn't have that, and when we did our testing with it,
- 32:11Speaker 2: it just has no body control when you hit continuous
- 32:14Speaker 2: undulations and you'll find that sort of stuff on country roads.
- 32:16Speaker 2: It's fine in and around the city, it's really pleasant,
- 32:18Speaker 2: no dramas, but the second you go to a country
- 32:20Speaker 2: road and you cop those continuous undulations at highway speeds,
- 32:23Speaker 2: you're getting to the point where it feels uncomfortable and
- 32:26Speaker 2: doesn't feel nice to drive.
- 32:28Speaker 1: So spending time with an electric car really did make
- 32:31Speaker 1: me realize how much that we subconsciously rely on sound
- 32:35Speaker 1: and feel of a car. Talk is different compared to
- 32:39Speaker 1: a petrol car. It's sort of you don't feel that
- 32:41Speaker 1: kind of climbing, you don't feel the rev I kind
- 32:44Speaker 1: of miss that. I love that when I jumped back
- 32:46Speaker 1: in my old car. I got to be honest, but yeah,
- 32:49Speaker 1: it's strange when it's taken away, do you know what
- 32:52Speaker 1: I mean? Yeah?
- 32:53Speaker 2: Absolutely, It's one of those things that you do eventually
- 32:56Speaker 2: get used to, and they try and plumb fake sound
- 32:59Speaker 2: into the cabin. And they also have like a pedestrian
- 33:01Speaker 2: noise when you're near pedestrians. It is something you get
- 33:05Speaker 2: used to eventually, but it's something that's hard to I
- 33:10Speaker 2: think once it's not there'll you won't notice it's gone.
- 33:13Speaker 2: So you will notice it when you get back into
- 33:14Speaker 2: an older car.
- 33:15Speaker 1: Do you know what's crazy? Our kids are not going
- 33:17Speaker 1: to have art?
- 33:19Speaker 2: Yes, exactly, it.
- 33:22Speaker 1: Isn't that weird? Say would you have like a VK
- 33:24Speaker 1: commodore or something like that, All right, jump in. They'll
- 33:28Speaker 1: just look at that and go, God, this is like
- 33:29Speaker 1: a bloody puff and Billy Coltrane.
- 33:32Speaker 2: Is that's right? They'll actually think it's the dumbest thing
- 33:35Speaker 2: in the world that you had to put this combustible
- 33:37Speaker 2: material in it and wait for it to burn and
- 33:40Speaker 2: do stuff. You know what I mean?
- 33:42Speaker 1: Like you, it does make it an electric does make
- 33:47Speaker 1: a petrol car feel dumb, doesn't it?
- 33:50Speaker 2: Exactly? Just think about the moving parts. You've got so
- 33:54Speaker 2: many moving parts and bearings that need lubrication, Like it
- 33:57Speaker 2: is just this insanely comple think it's needlessly complex, and
- 34:03Speaker 2: it's just so weird that that's just normal for us.
- 34:06Speaker 1: I can't explain it better. I just thought it was
- 34:07Speaker 1: really cool. Yeah, it's cool to look at, it is
- 34:11Speaker 1: cool to drive. For me, if I wanted to get
- 34:13Speaker 1: real picky, it is hard to kind of like. It's
- 34:16Speaker 1: not the sort of car you can dart around in
- 34:19Speaker 1: busy traffic. It's just not. And that's just the fact
- 34:22Speaker 1: that it's so big in a platform yet it just
- 34:25Speaker 1: doesn't feel big.
- 34:27Speaker 2: Yeah, I'm with you on that, And for me, I
- 34:29Speaker 2: was just disappointed by the ride and that for me,
- 34:31Speaker 2: I wouldn't be able to buy one based on the ride.
- 34:34Speaker 2: The good news, though, is Kia has their version of
- 34:37Speaker 2: this car come called the EV six, that will have
- 34:39Speaker 2: Australian ride in handling tuning, and I'm hoping that is
- 34:42Speaker 2: just what the Ionic five is missing.
- 34:45Speaker 1: I think that's it. Have we missed anything? No, that's it.
- 34:47Speaker 1: That's it. So now this is our wrap up section.
- 34:50Speaker 2: Yes, way we box it up? Well?
- 34:52Speaker 1: Can we?
- 34:52Speaker 2: Just if you're listening to this right now, send us
- 34:54Speaker 2: an email to contact the Drive Show dot com dat
- 34:58Speaker 2: you let us know what you think of it. What
- 34:59Speaker 2: do you want us to add? What he want us
- 35:01Speaker 2: to remove? He's not allowed to say either Gordy or right.
- 35:04Speaker 1: I got a bit of feedback. Yeah about one where
- 35:07Speaker 1: I described your the inside of your tesla as it
- 35:11Speaker 1: looks like where I go to get my vds, my
- 35:13Speaker 1: my STDs checked. Someone's gone. But I quite like that.
- 35:18Speaker 1: But what's the deal. I don't want to know where
- 35:19Speaker 1: he gets the sdds checked? Yes, you do. You do
- 35:23Speaker 1: need to know, because your mum gave them to me.
- 35:29Speaker 1: Your mom gave me those STDs, and your dad gave
- 35:34Speaker 1: me a few as well. But look, we can't talk
- 35:37Speaker 1: about Jeffrey Epstein's island. I take constructive criticism really well.
- 35:43Speaker 2: Don't you think just noticed?
- 35:44Speaker 1: Yeah?
- 35:46Speaker 2: Yeah, so please send us an email, let us know
- 35:47Speaker 2: what you want to hear, or what you like or
- 35:49Speaker 2: don't like. We're always, yeah, keen for feedback.
- 35:51Speaker 1: You know one thing, I think the complaints will be
- 35:53Speaker 1: rolling and will be your primo shot.
- 35:57Speaker 2: Oh yes, why oh, you've got a bit of a
- 35:59Speaker 2: ten man, don't Yeah, I know that's back when I
- 36:01Speaker 2: was allowed to go outside a child that I had
- 36:04Speaker 2: to look after.
- 36:05Speaker 1: I don't know about that. I think he wrapped up
- 36:07Speaker 1: the ten filtered there a little bit. I think you
- 36:11Speaker 1: gave it a bit of far, a little nudge, a
- 36:13Speaker 1: little bit of something something give you the national GEOGRAPHICALOK,
- 36:17Speaker 1: that'd be great. What's that emailing in I don't even
- 36:21Speaker 1: know
- 36:21Speaker 2: At contact at the Drive Show dot com, dot our
- 36:24Speaker 2: use
