Transcript
- 0:06Hello. What's your least favorite scary
- 0:08movie? 24:55.
- 0:13This is what you least favorite scary movie the podcast where we
- 0:15talk about. Our least favorite aspects and
- 0:17most debatable opinions of our most favorite scary movies,
- 0:20fight over favorites. My name is Jesse Travis.
- 0:22And today, we are taking a little trip to outer space.
- 0:25That's right. We are finally, finally talking
- 0:29about 2001's Jason X. Now I'm going to give you guys a
- 0:34little bit of behind-the-scenes. If you've been listening to
- 0:37podcast at all ever, you've probably encountered Countered,
- 0:41an episode or two where someone is like, hey, we had audio
- 0:44struggles. I mean, if you listen to some of
- 0:48our earlier episodes, you know that we've evolved in our audio
- 0:53since last January, but this week, we encountered something
- 0:57that every podcaster has to go through.
- 0:58And it was just very unfortunate timing with how Jam packs this
- 1:02week is and how screwed up our schedules have been due to being
- 1:05sick and we got about 10 minutes into editing this.
- 1:11Week's episode and discovered that a lot of our audio was
- 1:13basically unlistenable and full disclosure.
- 1:18It is currently Wednesday night on the 20th and this episodes
- 1:21due to come out tomorrow morning.
- 1:24So we are recording it and it's going to be another live and
- 1:29Uncut which we don't typically like to do for our main feed
- 1:32episodes. But this is where we're at.
- 1:35We decided that we would just go ahead and get in here and
- 1:38rerecord and get it out on time since some Everybody seems to
- 1:42seems to jam along with our Nightmare on Elm Street, bonus
- 1:45episodes. So they do, okay, we have a
- 1:47drawing for this one. Already finished the drawing.
- 1:49So, you know, it's not on Drawn this Emily's.
- 1:51Yeah. So and you know, maybe our,
- 1:54maybe our discussion will be a little bit more organized this
- 1:56time than it was before. So, I guess.
- 1:58We'll see. Yeah, but we'll go ahead and
- 2:00we'll get right down to it. But if any of that stuff like,
- 2:04I'm just going to read or ratings.
- 2:06Okay, he done all that. I'm just really Lisa that you
- 2:11guys are going to Miss. Talia being in the room with us,
- 2:14she actually spoke into the microphone a little bit.
- 2:17It sounds like we're having of something imagine like, oh my
- 2:19God, I tell you got on the mic, she has so much to say she was
- 2:23so proud of BJ, Talia tail, which and honesty, Jesse
- 2:30actually took the mic off of her thing and I put it up the
- 2:33Taliesin was and she did have things to say so that is not
- 2:36what corrupted our audio by the way.
- 2:38No. That was like pretty well into
- 2:40the So umm. Yeah.
- 2:41So no, they just fucked up. Like within actually one minute.
- 2:45Pretty much one minute. After we started talking on
- 2:48there. It got all fucked up, so, yeah,
- 2:50but that's okay. We're going right into it.
- 2:53We're going to make it happen. I'm all hyped up because I've
- 2:56been listening to like so much Kane Hodder this week.
- 3:01He's got a podcast with Alyssa Rose and Tiffany schepis and
- 3:04they're going to be recording an episode live at scarefest this
- 3:06week. And I've been listening to some
- 3:08of their podcasts in And / self hype.
- 3:12So I am in a good frame of mind to give our sweet precious man,
- 3:19Kane Hodder. He's no longer baby boy.
- 3:22Kane Hodder. He is sweet precious man Kane
- 3:25hotter. Yeah and it's moving off to
- 3:27college. After this we're giving Him a
- 3:31proper farewell with Jason acts because this is his last
- 3:35appearance on screen as Jason for his unfortunately.
- 3:39He was recast for Freddy vs. Jason so I doubt it'll be the
- 3:43last time we talked about no guarantee that.
- 3:46No rest of the hatchet movies will come in here at some point.
- 3:48Oh for sure. So alright.
- 3:51So again, once again, we're watching this on our screen
- 3:54Factory, unrated Blu-ray box set.
- 3:57This movie was directed by Jim Isaac written by Todd farmer
- 4:01music by By Armin, Harry manfredini, the special effects
- 4:07goddamn it. We're re-recording it and I
- 4:09still don't know how to say. His name is Dupuis.
- 4:12I know Dupuis, you know, this is where it fucked up.
- 4:15Was. I know.
- 4:16It's who is still alive? He did the makeup on Thirteen
- 4:24Reasons. Why season one.
- 4:26There's like, no, he heard me talking shit about the Thirteen
- 4:30Reasons. Why Steve One makeup?
- 4:32Yeah, he's like, nope. None of that.
- 4:37His first name is, either Steven or Stephen or stuff on.
- 4:41It's funny because I watched like a little, it's called out
- 4:45of space. It's like this little screen
- 4:47Factory special bonus on, like, some of the making of, for this.
- 4:53And I was so focused on making. Sure I could pronounce his last
- 4:56name that I, like, completely skipped out on listening to his
- 4:59first name. So, Sorry this movie stars Kane
- 5:04Hodder is Jason Voorhees Lexa doig as Rowan.
- 5:07Jonathan pots is Professor low Lisa Rider is KM Daft Ethan.
- 5:14Bach is Azrael chicken Chuck Campbell a sinner on and Melissa
- 5:188 is Janessa I have a whole host of fun facts.
- 5:23They are fun facts, they are fun facts.
- 5:27Don't worry, I haven't forgotten about bug.
- 5:29Ted it ties into the fun facts. It does.
- 5:35Oh, heck we have, we have an ad, we have to plug into, don't we?
- 5:40I'll put that in there, okay? We will have minor editing for
- 5:43the ad Travis leave this into the people don't think that we
- 5:47were just lazy and decided not to edit the rest of the episode.
- 5:51Okay, we'll find a spot for you. Okay, I'll just put in the outer
- 5:55now. Listen, I'll Shock Talk Radio,
- 5:57I'm sure that's what they recorded.
- 5:59Yeah, that's 100%. Yeah, that's fine.
- 6:03Okay, so like Like I said there was a Scream Factory special out
- 6:08of space. It had several people involved
- 6:12in the making of this movie and Travis.
- 6:16Did you know, pretend you didn't know personally, a go.
- 6:20I have already forgotten this movie would not exist if not for
- 6:25scream. I do remember this.
- 6:28It's a very intriguing story. Yeah, so after Jason Goes to
- 6:33Hell, they They were working on a script for Freddy vs.
- 6:36Jason by this point new line, of course, head acquired the rights
- 6:41to the Jason character and they wanted to do that crossover.
- 6:43We saw at the end of Jason, hell, Jason's how Jason Goes to
- 6:51Hell. Frederick's claw come up from
- 6:54the ground and pool Jason's hockey mask into the ground.
- 6:58And so, they were, you know, they had been gearing up for
- 7:01doing this. And it was in product.
- 7:07They were stuck with trying to come up with a good organic way
- 7:11to to make the story happen. Which is something I want to
- 7:16give this series. A lot of credit for later on as
- 7:19they got more ridiculous. I know a lot of people like to
- 7:21talk about how ridiculous these movies are, but I love the care
- 7:24that went into writing the scripts and that they had high
- 7:29hopes and they always wanted the story.
- 7:32To have something interesting about it.
- 7:34So there, and that dishes maybe a little over ambitious, but at
- 7:39least it makes. So, we've kind of dating movies
- 7:41a long way from a just fucking ripoff Halloween.
- 7:46We sure have now are ripping off, leprechaun will get to
- 7:51that. But yeah, so so they're in the
- 7:55middle of trying to figure out how to make this work.
- 7:58Then screen comes out, huge, massive success and suddenly all
- 8:02of these Production companies that before like didn't really
- 8:06so much care about the horror genre are wanting to have like
- 8:11Jean read apartment filled with special writers and that
- 8:14included new line, who was like, okay, we've got to bring in some
- 8:19really highly paid scriptwriters, which is really
- 8:22fucking rude. So, the people aren't working on
- 8:24the script and they spent like millions of dollars and they
- 8:30had, they kept bringing in different.
- 8:32Ripped Riders. And this at this point, the
- 8:34original people working on their pitches for the screenplay like
- 8:38we're down to their final three ideas, like that, they were
- 8:40getting ready to present. So they bring in these
- 8:44scriptwriters. Nothing is going the way they
- 8:46want it to, and they decide they're going to table it for a
- 8:48while. And Sean Cunningham just goes
- 8:54I'll just make another Jason movie.
- 8:57Yeah and then the question comes well what do we do?
- 9:01That isn't going to mess up the chronology for Freddy vs.
- 9:04Jason because as frustrated as they were by the situation, they
- 9:08didn't want to make things even worse by creating a problem.
- 9:11When they did get a chance to go back to fvj and they decide that
- 9:17they're just going to put Jason and some other location
- 9:20potentially some other time and they came up.
- 9:24Whole list of different places. Jason could go.
- 9:28We have Jason Goes To Rome. How one is so fucked.
- 9:32I hope that it was like time travel to the past and he was
- 9:36gonna do like a gladiator. I didn't think about reverse
- 9:39time for. Yeah.
- 9:40Yeah, yeah Gladiator. Geez.
- 9:44Oh man. I can see him in the pit.
- 9:46That would be incredible. Yeah.
- 9:48Like the movie opens and it's like a gladiator out there and
- 9:51then gate opens up and it's like juice it just comes out.
- 9:55No, I see them like throwing him out there he has I fight
- 9:58everything. They throw it in.
- 10:00You fucking Massacre, everything.
- 10:04What were the other ones? Jason in the hood?
- 10:07That's the big leprechaun, rip off here.
- 10:09Yeah. Well, plus, going to space go
- 10:13into space. Yeah, cuz that's the one they
- 10:14actually went with. So they definitely lean more
- 10:16towards leprechaun, which is weird because leprechaun, I
- 10:19don't think, you know, that could be, that's got to be one.
- 10:22We gotta cover at some point. I only watched the first one.
- 10:25Yeah. I mean to, so that would
- 10:26actually be something interesting for us to experience
- 10:29together. Yeah.
- 10:32And then the other idea was Then the winter.
- 10:34Oh yeah. Because we were, we were talking
- 10:39about that. Never hi:.
- 10:41Sure. And I like my brain will only
- 10:45let it be never hike in the snow below and there.
- 10:47I don't like, I think it's because I see like, posters and
- 10:51thumbnails for it. And I'm like, oh, obviously, you
- 10:55don't want to hike alone in the snow.
- 10:57Yeah, that makes sense. You don't want to hike in the
- 11:00snow period. That's very dangerous.
- 11:03Well people who are climbing Mount Everest.
- 11:07I mean is dangerous, people die Travis.
- 11:09Yeah they died and they get whooped up there and nobody can
- 11:12rescue them. Yeah well maybe it's just a body
- 11:15at that point dude that's come on.
- 11:20Okay so anyway they wanted it to be action horror.
- 11:25They wanted to really focus on an action piece of it because
- 11:28they felt that it would give the plot more structure to which I
- 11:32say, ha, ha. Ha ha, because our originally
- 11:36recruiting for this episode was an hour because there is very
- 11:40little plot to talk about other than stab, stab, stab, shoot,
- 11:44shoot shoot, run, run, run explode, stab, stab stab space
- 11:48worms. Yeah, if this episode is really
- 11:50short, it's not because we were doing it because, you know,
- 11:53we're at the last minute here, it's because we didn't really
- 11:56have a whole lot to talk about, and that being said, we do both
- 11:58love this movie. We don't, we'll get into that in
- 12:00a second. It's just very lacking on the
- 12:02pot. Yeah.
- 12:03So they they wanted to do something similar to.
- 12:09I want to say it was Blade Runner.
- 12:12Was it there? Yeah.
- 12:13And so they were trying to go into writing the scripts without
- 12:17their budget in mind, which was a problem because when they go
- 12:22to the studio with all of these ideas of what they want, they're
- 12:25like okay it's going to cost thirty two billion dollars and
- 12:29they were like we have for so obviously Of a budget, they had
- 12:35a bug. Ted.
- 12:36Yep. And the actual bug.
- 12:38Ted that ended up with, they ended up with was 11 million and
- 12:43a worldwide gross of 17 million. Yeah, the 11 million at least
- 12:46they got more money, but holy shit.
- 12:48This thing did not perform. Well, I'm honestly impressed
- 12:52like it had been on Hiatus for a while to it was coming close to
- 12:5610 years before because Jason Goes to Hell was like early 90s
- 13:0093. This is 2001.
- 13:02So I Eight years is insane. Yeah, so they decided that they
- 13:08were going to do something a little bit darker and more
- 13:09atmospheric. Allah aliens, you know, kind of
- 13:13aliens or alien because aliens more.
- 13:15Okay, aliens is definitely more action from yes.
- 13:18Yeah, they wanted to do, like they had ideas with alien, in
- 13:21terms of like hostile on board will blond the action, he
- 13:25aspects of aliens. So but they also wanted to make
- 13:31sure that is very self aware especially Even the recent
- 13:34success of scream, right? So they call it Kane Hodder and
- 13:38they're like hey do you wanna play Jason again?
- 13:41And he's like, of course, they're like cool.
- 13:44We're going to space and he's like Okay, doesn't even
- 13:49questioned. He just loves that role of that
- 13:51much, but I knew that it was a silly script and a silly
- 13:55premise. But they also knew that they
- 13:57were writing something that they would be really excited to watch
- 13:59in the theaters, which I can completely respect and it is a
- 14:02very silly movie and I very much love watching it.
- 14:04Yeah. I mean, it does all that.
- 14:06Lets yeah, that's just leave it at that.
- 14:09Yeah. They had no desire to explain
- 14:13how he got out of hell. So that was another bonus of
- 14:16them. Not doing anything to affect the
- 14:18chronology and they're like, truthfully.
- 14:20We don't even know if Freddy vs. Jason is going to address, go
- 14:23getting out of hell or not and we don't really care like it.
- 14:26That's up to. That's a future problems.
- 14:28Yeah, I don't think it does. So and Jim Isaac's, the director
- 14:33was huge on helping save money. So he had a lot of Hollywood
- 14:39Connections. He did effects for David
- 14:42Cronenberg. Now, if you aren't aware, David
- 14:45Cronenberg appears, In the beginning of the movie and I was
- 14:48because Jim reaches out to him. He says, hey can I use your
- 14:52effects team? And he's like yes but I would
- 14:55like to be killed on screen and is like I think we can do that
- 14:59and then he comes in and he rewrites a lot of his lines so
- 15:02when he says that he wants Jason soft just know.
- 15:06That is truly a different kind of hurt feelings about Jason for
- 15:09you. It's interesting having
- 15:10Cronenberg dialogue and Jason like a Friday.
- 15:14The 13th movie. It is special.
- 15:16I wish you I could have Rewritten some other parts of
- 15:18the scope just take a little bit of that player.
- 15:21What about awesome? The movie was shot on 35 mm and
- 15:24then scanned into do the effects that way.
- 15:27Instead of normally I guess they would like do like they would
- 15:30print them. I don't know the full process
- 15:33but apparently what they were doing is something that's not
- 15:35done normally but it saved them like thousands and thousands of
- 15:39dollars which when you're on this tide of a budget every
- 15:42dollar counts. Yeah.
- 15:45But yeah that's a lot of me fun. Facts.
- 15:47I think. Oh and then I just got a couple
- 15:49of fun Kane Hodder as Jason facts since it is his last movie
- 15:53with us. When he first got the role, he
- 15:58had no real acting experience. Like he'd had a couple of
- 16:04Moments where he was like like his dog person.
- 16:07So it's not like he was new to being on screen but he was like
- 16:10generally new to acting. Yeah and one of the things he
- 16:13really wanted to do is make sure that Jason would look super
- 16:15intimidating and he focused since it isn't a speaking role
- 16:18he focused on his breathing and I will say that his breathing is
- 16:22terrifying as J. Like that's one of the things I
- 16:25associate with his Jason Voorhees is like how him just
- 16:29standing there is the most intimidating thing.
- 16:31And it really is because of these big lug Hulking breaths
- 16:34and you're like, that's a man that's about to charge imitates
- 16:39that when we see him this weekend, I will probably shoot
- 16:42ya. Like I think of whenever I look
- 16:47at Jason on screen, I'm not scared but if I'm standing next
- 16:50to K and then person and I see that shit, I'm probably gonna
- 16:52freak out. Yeah.
- 16:56And then another thing he does is he doesn't like fully
- 16:59rehearse scenes. Like he'll go out to a scene
- 17:01partner and give them the basic idea of what's going to happen.
- 17:04But he does like they don't like do a full run-through of it
- 17:08because he wants to react the way he thinks Jason would react
- 17:12because it really goes. Yeah, he goes much more by his
- 17:15gut and when I was listening to casualty Friday, they were
- 17:18talking about because all three of them worked on Victor Crowley
- 17:20together. And I want to say, I think it
- 17:23was before Tiffany's Well, that she like they don't always shoot
- 17:31together depending on the angles of the scene.
- 17:34So sometimes like, he'll actually be off to the side like
- 17:38a makeup or prep or whatever. And so he goes off and he was
- 17:42like getting himself hyped up and apparently was like really
- 17:46freaking her out because she witnessed that and it wasn't
- 17:49like early part of this team. And he goes well, part of the
- 17:52reason I do that is because I do know if people can see me.
- 17:55And I want to get you for I'm really freaked out so
- 17:58interesting. Like I want some
- 18:00behind-the-scenes footage. Yeah.
- 18:02But I just thought that was a lot of fun and all.
- 18:06Right. Are we ready to get into it?
- 18:09Yeah, I remember my score so so yeah.
- 18:13Okay. You're beginning.
- 18:16Score 5-5. Why did you give it a 5?
- 18:20I gave it a 5 because I mean kind of what we touched on it's
- 18:25just not So it's not objectively a good movie.
- 18:29It's really poorly made whenever you like kind of analyze it sit
- 18:34here and talk about it. It was really difficult talking
- 18:37about it with somebody score pre score, don't think about the
- 18:40discussion because it yet sir this was okay.
- 18:43This was her idea. So well before they start my
- 18:47whole thing was a, I mean, still, it's objectively not a
- 18:50good movie, it looks shitty a lot of times.
- 18:53It's, it's so Ridiculous it just and it's really just kind of
- 19:01like I'm gonna try to hit the Beats of a Friday, the 13th
- 19:04movie. And it kind of is like it's
- 19:08doing a poor imitation of itself and you know it's just weird
- 19:14like I don't know, I don't really feel like I'm watching a
- 19:16Friday the 13th whenever I'm watching this it's you know it's
- 19:20just strange. So that's why I gave it a 5 but
- 19:23it's fun. Like that's where the other like
- 19:26half. Is like, I enjoy watching it.
- 19:29It's stupid fun, but, you know, the objective part of me hates
- 19:34it, but the subjective side of me that goes like that wolf
- 19:38shitty movies, likes it. So that's it.
- 19:41I give it a 7 but I have like opposite reasoning from you.
- 19:45Yeah, well, what was it? Well, I do feel like I'm
- 19:49watching a Friday, the 13th movie.
- 19:52It like, you know, they said that they were trying to kind of
- 19:55do something different with With the franchise, with this
- 19:58particular entry in the franchise and it felt the same,
- 20:02it was like the same beats as every other Friday, the 13th
- 20:05just set in space and I felt like there could have been a
- 20:07little bit more Innovation. That being said, when the
- 20:11Innovation was there, when the creativity and the
- 20:14tongue-in-cheek - and the actually playing with the
- 20:17environment, was their man that hit just.
- 20:21Right? Yeah.
- 20:23But you know, like, the lows were kind of low.
- 20:27Oh yeah. But I think the highs of the
- 20:29high were better than the lows of the low and I generally just
- 20:34have fun watching this movie. This is much more one of those
- 20:37like gut scores. You know what I mean?
- 20:40Like, in my heart, it feels like a 7.
- 20:45It's like you're Jason Takes Manhattan score which was biased
- 20:49because of your previous history I fully admit it.
- 20:52Yeah. Yes.
- 20:53I know I'm not you know but you still like that was your gut
- 20:56feeling? Like you felt like it was a good
- 20:58movie. So maybe we don't have an
- 21:00official method for rating. The movies.
- 21:03I can read it. Whatever.
- 21:04God damn way. I want however I want you got to
- 21:06write on it and you can start scale of 1 to 10.
- 21:09Yeah. Which is established.
- 21:10You can. Yeah.
- 21:11And I did. Okay.
- 21:12Well, okay. Okay, yes, good for me.
- 21:18I think it's a seven because I have more fun watching it than I
- 21:21have not watching the night and I have no fun watching it.
- 21:28The, you guys get it. You know what I mean?
- 21:31Sure, I get ready gets what I'm going for here.
- 21:34I have more fun watching it than I don't have fun watching it.
- 21:41Yeah, yeah, don't have fun watching. like the if there was
- 21:45a scale of fun and not fun and you plop Jason ax down in their
- 21:53van is going to weigh out thinking of like a
- 21:55teeter-totter, just like, yeah, okay. 200 sitting on one end and
- 21:59like me on the other side to be heavily.
- 22:03I really want to see. Now I'll ask him this weekend.
- 22:06If you want to get on a teeter-totter with me, I will
- 22:09not do that. I hope you do.
- 22:11That's probably a question. He's never gotten before.
- 22:14He's probably going to be like, where is this going within a man
- 22:18want to do with me? What do I have to do this man
- 22:22right now? Okay, everybody's okay.
- 22:26First. Here's an ad did it, dude?
- 22:31Walk talk radio. It's intelligent.
- 22:34Talk about movies schlag. Yeah, exactly.
- 22:37That's what makes it so fun. It's kind of the way we grew up,
- 22:39you know, just kind of bringing that back in a way.
- 22:41So that was a waste of my fucking time.
- 22:45Well, I mean, I can't tell you the amount of times that when
- 22:47I'm driving down the highway and there's a truck is the laws on
- 22:49the back. Yes, I know if you call yourself
- 22:53a whore, And you don't already know this movie.
- 22:55It's time to re-evaluate your life slock.
- 22:58Talk radio.com. So our set had an option to play
- 23:04with a special introduction from Kane Hodder and obviously we did
- 23:07that and it was just a like it was a very brief intro, it was
- 23:11just him letting us know. Hey glad you're here, glad
- 23:15you're watching. This is my last appearance is
- 23:17Jason Voorhees and I hope you guys enjoy the show and if you
- 23:20don't then I'll do this. And then he like Charges at the
- 23:23camera and like kills audience. Yeah, I forgot.
- 23:26Always forget that he doesn't. I love it.
- 23:29Yeah, it's a nice little thing. It's sad, though.
- 23:31Seeing him like, you know, I expected them to be more sad
- 23:35with the whole. Yeah.
- 23:35This is my last Jason, but, you know, he's still gets to live
- 23:38the Jason life. It's so funny because like, I
- 23:42literally cannot tell you what else can cause injury has been
- 23:46in other than Freddy vs. Jason, which, like, It's Ken
- 23:53kirzinger. He's who takes over is Jason.
- 23:56Oh, that guy? Yeah.
- 23:58Like well I mean, well go ahead. I associate him with that, which
- 24:02is not any fault of his own. I don't hold it against him but
- 24:05he's also in my least favorite of the joyride movies.
- 24:08And he's probably my least favorite resty nail, which
- 24:14again, not his fault that he was like cast as a recast position.
- 24:18But like, we talked about that too, on our other friend, Yeah.
- 24:23Seventh circle of film. They covered Joyride.
- 24:26Yeah. It's a long-ass episode.
- 24:27That's a lot of fun. We cover the entire Series so
- 24:29yeah I would just if you go and listen to that episode which we
- 24:32highly recommend, it's a good time bit dryer humor than us
- 24:37because that British and that's how the British do.
- 24:40Yeah I mean they're also on our show and yeah but yeah you can
- 24:45listen it to two bits of pieces. Okay so we start off we see like
- 24:49semi POV shots during like Surgery or something.
- 24:55They are prepping Big Jimmy V. Jimmy V, Jimmy Jimmy V.
- 25:01What the fuck? Where did that come from?
- 25:03Jesus Christ. Jimmy this is why we need to be
- 25:07able to edit episodes know. This would have stayed because I
- 25:11was anything. I'm not get rid of Jimmy V.
- 25:14What the fuck? Are you even talking about?
- 25:16That's unfortunate my OneNote to Travis every time it's his turn
- 25:19to edit it was like please edit it.
- 25:21So I don't sound stupid. Stupid not happened in the sun.
- 25:25Kim Evey is with her. Oh man.
- 25:28Don't you know that Jimmy Dean make some like vegetarian
- 25:32breakfast sandwiches, I wasn't thinking of Jimmy Dean, I was
- 25:36thinking of Dickie V, Now, I need to think that I can do.
- 25:50Every time we watch Friday the 13th and drive you nuts.
- 25:54Oh God, Mom, the way that discussion for another time, but
- 25:59yes, Jason Voorhees is being operated on.
- 26:04Do do guys named Jason? Do they have a nickname?
- 26:08I'm probably Jay. That's such a sad nickname.
- 26:11You have any fun with that, J JV.
- 26:16I could be, I don't know. I was trying to think of one on
- 26:18the spot and there was blinking up there.
- 26:22Anyway, he's at the Crystal Lake research.
- 26:27Lab awaiting cryogenic suspension.
- 26:30That's right. We've got some sci-fi shit going
- 26:34on and spoiler for like 10 minutes from now.
- 26:38This is meant to be happening in 2010.
- 26:41So this is set in the future 11 years ago and you mentioned to
- 26:46me that cryo things are like an actual thing that people use
- 26:49like recreational. So it's a thing that you can do
- 26:54like it's really good for I think like skin firming and like
- 26:57muscle repair or something because they had it as a, they
- 27:03were two, very specific pop culture references.
- 27:06I gave you with it and we got a third less At night and I was
- 27:08going to say, I didn't believe the answer is no.
- 27:11Okay. So I saw it in fiction and
- 27:16episode of scream Queens, they put they trick.
- 27:19Jamie Lee Curtis has character into going into and she's like
- 27:21it's so good for your body. You go in first and then you
- 27:24like fries her but she doesn't die.
- 27:27And then In reality TV, it was the most recent cycle of
- 27:33America's Next, Top Model, one of the challenge winners, got a
- 27:37chance to go into one of these little cryotherapy to be things,
- 27:41which sounds like torture to me. Like legitimately if I won that
- 27:46as a challenge I would be like, can I just not?
- 27:50Can I not go? Yeah they would probably get
- 27:53manage if you did that. Yeah.
- 27:55No tire. It would probably punish me
- 27:57she'd be like all right. Guess what?
- 28:00Your overseas destination Antarctica.
- 28:05We get to talk about Tyrone. This show.
- 28:06Oh my God, I'm so excited. But yeah.
- 28:11So but we watched freaky last night and we actually see a cryo
- 28:15tube in the locker room for the athletes.
- 28:19That does not make sense. Based off of what you've told me
- 28:22though. Like why would athletes need
- 28:24that for beauty purposes. Like I mean if it's good for
- 28:28muscle restoration though, Okay. And I think about it, like, oh
- 28:33my God, what was the thing called whenever I would get done
- 28:37with physical therapy? There was like a big game, ready
- 28:41game, ready machine? It was like this big sleeve that
- 28:46goes over most of your leg and it gets pumped full with like,
- 28:50ice cold water and it inflates. So you get like, like pressure
- 28:56on it, it feels so good. We're doesn't.
- 29:00Seemed like it would work for so good.
- 29:03It was always after like at the end of the physical therapy
- 29:05session like it was amazing. Hmm.
- 29:08So I'll have to try once. Yeah.
- 29:10Remember I had the cheap shitty version that they gave me for
- 29:15free after my surgery where it was like attached to a mini
- 29:18cooler and you forgot that was so sad.
- 29:30At the time, I could have paid a hundred dollars to rent a
- 29:33machine. My mom didn't know about that.
- 29:35She's like any of the money for that sweet?
- 29:40I got my pride. Yeah.
- 29:44Okay. Wow, this is already going to be
- 29:47a longer episode just because we've gone on where tangent.
- 29:49Yeah, okay, so God my handwriting.
- 29:56So what you need to know is that my handwriting is terrible,
- 30:00which if you've listened to any of our episodes, you know that
- 30:02this is a consistent problem that I can't read my own
- 30:05handwriting. When we go over it unless we
- 30:07record immediately after watching a movie and it has been
- 30:13Like five days now. Yeah, Saturday night.
- 30:18Yeah. My handwriting is a jug of milk
- 30:22forgotten in the backseat of your car.
- 30:25It's not good. Okay.
- 30:29So a soldier is left on. Watch Duty.
- 30:33Jason is all chained up. I feel like very inefficiently.
- 30:36Travis feels like it's efficiently.
- 30:38Spoiler alert. I am correct because Jason
- 30:41manages to get out and kill this Soldier.
- 30:44It all happens off screen, it's all movie Magic.
- 30:46There's no way that go would be able to just like get out and go
- 30:49over there and put him in his place and make it all staged to
- 30:52be perfect while he's just like hiding right there.
- 30:55Like around the corner, waiting for them to find out.
- 30:57Like he's like he's waiting for the perfect moment.
- 30:59Do we want to talk about Logics in this franchise?
- 31:02Do we really want to go there? Yeah.
- 31:04Do we want to talk about the man who was risen from the dead
- 31:07Thrice Jason? Yeah.
- 31:10Whoa, this is a new Jason that we've already established.
- 31:14We don't really know what this one's went through.
- 31:16This is the new one Jason established in our Jason Goes to
- 31:20Hell episode. We kind of figured that Jason
- 31:24this one since it's a new production company, it's like a
- 31:27new history. We don't know if he even has a
- 31:29mom. It's never brought up or it's
- 31:32brought up in Freddy vs. Jason never mind, but it's not
- 31:36in this one right here. I feel like Jason X is like a
- 31:39timeline all by itself. I don't think it has any
- 31:42relation to any of the past movies.
- 31:43Did you even listen to any of my fun facts at the beginning of
- 31:46this? Yeah, I did.
- 31:48But I'm just saying, like, you know, they're not there.
- 31:51Just nothing to tie it to him being resurrected or anything
- 31:55like that. Like they don't make any mention
- 31:57of that, you know? So Basically, this is a research
- 32:02lab. There's a woman named Rowan and
- 32:06we are going to interchangeably refer to everybody in this cast,
- 32:11as researchers academics, students and soldiers.
- 32:16Because we don't know who the fuck is wet and it's very
- 32:20unclear. Whoa, I'm thrown off at some of
- 32:23the names. Some of them are just strange to
- 32:24me. It really.
- 32:26It's just Center on that gets you.
- 32:28Yeah. And sinner on is Is the one that
- 32:31like I feel like it's very prominent in this.
- 32:35Yeah so well he's got his love bought so she is blocking Wimmer
- 32:42dr. Wimmer played by David
- 32:44Cronenberg from trying to do a transfer of Jason Voorhees.
- 32:48He he wants to research him because he can regenerate
- 32:52tissue. So this is this movie is Cannon
- 32:55for What prevents Jason from dying and or helps him come back
- 33:00to life, sometimes it's magic. Sometimes it's the power of
- 33:04Satan, sometimes it's regenerative tissue, we all we
- 33:07all need things we can fall back on in life.
- 33:14Let's see, so they go in there and this is where he says that
- 33:20he wants some soft because she's trying to convince him to at
- 33:23least let him be Frozen. And she's like, no, I want him
- 33:25soft. He delivers the best part of
- 33:29this blank? Yes, you have to be a consummate
- 33:32professional, professional to deliver that line in a way that
- 33:37is both ridiculous and completely deadpan.
- 33:41I like to think that he has watched the Friday the 13th.
- 33:44Movies this entire time and he like had that in his mind for a
- 33:47while. Now it's like for once I would
- 33:49just want somebody to mention like Jason being soft and he's
- 33:52like, this is my opportunity, I can be like been decayed for
- 33:55like, what four or five movies now?
- 33:58Realistically be soft is waterlogged to examine.
- 34:02This got all kinds of like what's the pruney fingers
- 34:07pretties? Oh my God.
- 34:08Okay, that is like a textile nightmare to think about him
- 34:14choke. You out with pruney.
- 34:15Fingers is all wet. Yeah.
- 34:18Like think. Oh, talk about squelch.
- 34:20Do you price stinks? It's not good.
- 34:24I'll do. Yeah, you think getting choked
- 34:27times the worst part? Nice.
- 34:28The texture and smell all yours. Oh, man.
- 34:32But, um, yeah, they end up taking the little blankie off of
- 34:36them because the guard that was watching him got spooked by him,
- 34:39because he was giving him a little stairs.
- 34:42And once they remove the blankie, oh no.
- 34:44Oh, it's Jason. He, you know, it's not just it's
- 34:47the soldier that was spooked by him and then, oh no, they're in.
- 34:49There's Jason, he comes out and he just straight up harpoons,
- 34:53Wimmer. Yeah, for some reason why the
- 34:55Harpoon in a research lab I think they are at Camp.
- 35:00Crystal Lake aren't do. They think they're going to
- 35:03encounter the rare lake whale? Well, the girl that is their
- 35:07plan here. I like to think that the guard
- 35:09was like very, you know, he was wowed about his His discomfort
- 35:15about being the one to have to guard Jason and then do you know
- 35:19what? Fuck it here.
- 35:19Just take this and you'll be fine.
- 35:22Like it's like almost as a joke just to give him like the most
- 35:25difficult weapon to use to kill somebody.
- 35:27And then ends up costing him his life.
- 35:32Rowan shoots at Jason, we noticed that his skin is not
- 35:38over his mask. In this one, slight change to
- 35:40the design to make it, at least a little bit easier for him to
- 35:43take his mask off in between takes apparently the Prosthetics
- 35:47are still a bitch no matter what.
- 35:49But I can still see like a monitor here in this video.
- 35:53Definitely. I feel like they went like way
- 35:56under what his makeup should be in this situation like it.
- 36:00I felt like I was Looking at Kane behind a mask, the salmon,
- 36:02not Jason. So, you know, it was a it was an
- 36:05issue for me. I'm the connect the Men Behind
- 36:08the Mask. Okay?
- 36:11So she tricks him into going into the cryogenic chamber and
- 36:17she's like, set to freeze them, like she's locked the door,
- 36:20she's turned on the thing, except he stabs through the door
- 36:23and listen, I know I know Jimmy V is super strong.
- 36:29I'm running with it. It's there.
- 36:31It's already out into the ether. I've already fucked it up.
- 36:34I like the way it rolls off my tongue.
- 36:35Okay, in the back up. Yeah, the series anyways
- 36:37whatever. Yeah, you know what, maybe it'll
- 36:40pick up everybody who listens to us has consistently referred to
- 36:43Frederick went. We got that's y'all don't do
- 36:46that. Please continue to do it.
- 36:49Every time you do it, the vein on Travis's forehead gets a
- 36:51little more prominent. Jimmy B.
- 36:56Yeah. What about Jimmy V though?
- 36:58So how, like, how weak is this fucking door?
- 37:02Probably so weak. That it shouldn't be used for a
- 37:04cryogenic chamber, right? If his machete, which is
- 37:07probably also not like the strongest metal on Earth.
- 37:10Listen, I'm not a metal ologist, which is also not a word.
- 37:14I'm aware. I'm not a geologist.
- 37:18Okay. And but I feel like it shouldn't
- 37:23be that easy for the machete, just go straight through, but it
- 37:27does anyway, and she stabbed and that creates a week, so she's
- 37:32stabbed and Frozen. Yeah.
- 37:34So yep, it just jumps in the time.
- 37:38She's been frozen, Jason's been frozen.
- 37:40It is now the year 2455, so they open the door to the chamber.
- 37:47It's still frozen in there yet. Somehow, there are cobwebs.
- 37:52No, are there. That's what I wrote down.
- 37:56People dressed like extras and how Comes to Frogtown, come in.
- 38:01They've got flashlights. They have a little scanner that
- 38:05tells them there's no viruses bacteria or toxins detected,
- 38:09which allows them to take off their masks which is a common
- 38:11Trope in sci-fi Which I posit is because it's a lot harder to do.
- 38:17Any type of audio processing when your actors are wearing
- 38:20masks. I also um, they make a mention
- 38:24of his mask and they are kind of confused, and then one of those
- 38:28like, oh yeah, that's a hockey mask, which they make a point of
- 38:31saying, I, yes, the sport that was banned in the year 2024.
- 38:35So all right hockey fans, you got three years?
- 38:38Yeah, make the most of it. So it is written.
- 38:41So it shall be Yeah. They they said that this type of
- 38:49cryostasis unit was manufactured in 2010 when they open the unit
- 38:55they see Jason Frozen. But his arm is up high.
- 38:59He stabbed Rowan in his in her stomach right before they froze.
- 39:03How did his arm get up here? Also, what was his plan with his
- 39:06arm up here? He already started, weakening
- 39:08the door down here. It's okay as we know Jason's.
- 39:12Not a planner and Out to be told a million times how tiny this
- 39:16guys fucking brain is. I think that this man is very
- 39:18big brain because what he was doing, is he saw this happening,
- 39:22so he got himself in like position for whenever he has a
- 39:25door open. I'm totally gonna prank this
- 39:29fucking. Yeah, four and a half centuries.
- 39:32And what happens is you just tilt over and in shops, us
- 39:35dudes, arm completely off and he didn't have to do anything.
- 39:38He was frozen. He had that shit planned out
- 39:41decades or centuries ago. This is is as real and his
- 39:45reaction and the reaction of the people around him is like every
- 39:50time I've ever been stung by a wasp, which is me too.
- 39:55Like I don't even actually have to be stung, like I just have to
- 39:57be in near a wasp and I have a total meltdown panic attack
- 40:01crying hyperventilating and the people around me are like is
- 40:06literally a wasp. It's fine.
- 40:07Like in that is what they like, as you're out literally we're
- 40:11gonna put some CGI space rims on your arm and Be fine.
- 40:14Like calm down the only baby nanobot.
- 40:16There are completely gaslighting this man.
- 40:18They're like it's not that big a deal but give them a little shy
- 40:21and I think it gets rid of all the pain but he's so as to carry
- 40:23his arm out, you know that's gotta be embarrassing, moments
- 40:26heisting. I'm sure.
- 40:28Can you imagine how like if medicine is this good in the
- 40:31future? How often the shit happens and
- 40:33people just play it off like it's no big deal.
- 40:35God, I need to live in that Century.
- 40:39So they also noticed Row in there and she has preserved at
- 40:42about 25% which is apparently enough to like bring her back to
- 40:45life. So they decided that they're
- 40:47gonna bring both of them in. They are traversing across this
- 40:54surface of a hell Planet. It's a terrible shot.
- 40:57I hate shots like this. Like what do you mean like where
- 41:03a planet is a desolate Wasteland?
- 41:05Yeah I mean it's just like a big Sandstorm basically like Earth
- 41:09is just void of any resource anymore.
- 41:12Apparently yeah Earth. One Earth one, right?
- 41:15They found another one. So yeah, at least there's that
- 41:17in the future. Yeah, it's probably Mars or Mars
- 41:21is Earth, 1 and Earth is Earth to.
- 41:23And one of Jupiter's moons is about severe three.
- 41:27Imagine changing the name of Mars just because we inhabit, it
- 41:30was like yeah. Now heater Earth to Mars
- 41:33anymore. Do you know the history of the
- 41:35United States? Yeah but that's the United
- 41:38States. I mean we're better than that
- 41:40now. Are we though?
- 41:42Travis Maybe I have faith. Mars sounds.
- 41:46So cool though. Be like, yeah, I'm from Mars.
- 41:50Yeah, all right, since this is a lie of and unedited episode and
- 41:54I don't have time to do any of my funny.
- 41:56Music cues, go play Mars for the rich.
- 41:59But King gizzard in the lizard Wizard and turn that shit up.
- 42:04Yeah. That's the prepared to head.
- 42:05Bang. It's a fucking Banger.
- 42:07That's what Banger comes from right.
- 42:10Yeah, I don't know. Yeah, I think that's it.
- 42:11I'm not hip with the lingo so they are taking them to the lab.
- 42:19They're going to do full scans stabilized and put in stasis.
- 42:23Adrian is meant to show that your twos how to do a full scan.
- 42:27Israel, gets his arm reattached, I hate his hair.
- 42:32I just I wrote a note about that.
- 42:34Is I spiky kind of reminds me of like chin where he's gone like
- 42:38dreads but they're uneven likes. Oh I'm thinking of a different
- 42:41guy. Yeah, no that dude.
- 42:42Yeah, yeah, yeah. The one with the, I guess it's
- 42:45arm cut off. Yeah.
- 42:47Okay. Yeah.
- 42:48He his arm is Like reattached by these terrible little CGI.
- 42:53What did you call him before? Nana Boss look like space worms
- 42:57if you want to see some good nanobot action, gouache Big Hero
- 43:006 but don't watch it alone. Like Travis made me do on
- 43:04Valentine's Day a few years ago because then you're just going
- 43:06to be crying. Why were you watching it alone?
- 43:09Because you said you got it for me for Valentine's Day and
- 43:12you're like, hey let's watch it. And then you fell asleep and
- 43:15it's Valentine's Day. I was like 9:00 at night and I'm
- 43:18sobbing on the Which Antalya is inconsolable.
- 43:21She does not know what to do to make the situation better.
- 43:25Whoops. So you can stop bringing up that
- 43:30time. I I stood you up for dinner on
- 43:35Valentine's Day. No, I won't find then I will
- 43:39bring that up every time. Okay.
- 43:41Okay, farewell have our own stories.
- 43:43Mm, yeah. This is the opposite of a
- 43:46functional relationship. That's fine.
- 43:50Okay. So Adrienne really doesn't want
- 43:53to show these fucking ear to use how to do it.
- 43:55I'll scan and I she says it's because they're going to slow
- 43:59her down and the subtext. Here is that she has worked with
- 44:01easier to use before and knows that they're fucking horny as
- 44:04hell. And they're just like, they've
- 44:07definitely fucked in front of her before.
- 44:10Oh yeah. I feel like this is a very like,
- 44:12for you of type of ship right here.
- 44:14Yeah. And she's like, please, I don't
- 44:17want to see any. I don't want to see Stoney's
- 44:20dick. Again, please don't make me do
- 44:22this. And he's like, listen, you need
- 44:24to show these Vince how to do it and when she gets in there and
- 44:27they immediately start like groping each other and making
- 44:30out and she's like, please just leave like she's like I'm here
- 44:33to do a job. She they fucking roast my man,
- 44:42it's not goodbye how small his brain is for like 10 minutes.
- 44:47Like he's barely functioning. His brain is so small.
- 44:50This is where some of this self-awareness comes in.
- 44:52I think just basically like our right.
- 44:55Calling Jason stupid, which I don't know.
- 44:58I don't think he's stupid. He does a lot of smart things
- 45:02that man survived on his own in the wilderness without any help.
- 45:05Me think why I need big brain, one little brain, do trick it,
- 45:09do do trick so you know, good on him.
- 45:12Yeah, so she She, it's so funny every time I see this, I said,
- 45:21Adrienne kick-out horny kids except the way my handwriting.
- 45:24Is, it looks like I think kick out horny Lads and I'm like, oh,
- 45:28I briefly became European while taking these notes and she pulls
- 45:34out an, i we get a nice little squelch squelch squelch Rowan
- 45:40wakes up. She was worried about the leak
- 45:42from the cryogenic chamber. She's under a chain link
- 45:45blanket, which seems like Maybe and now that I'm talking about
- 45:49it, maybe it's not chain-link. Maybe it's Nanobots this.
- 45:53That's a good guess. Yeah.
- 45:54It kind of looks like chain link here.
- 45:56I have. But either way, it seems like
- 45:57it's uncomfortable. Yeah.
- 45:59And not very dignified for her. Yeah, whatever.
- 46:03It's like the very first episode of Futurama were like fry wakes
- 46:07up naked. And they're like whoa, calm
- 46:09down. Yeah, it's kind of like that
- 46:14except, you know, I guess he doesn't get a career chip
- 46:17implanted in her hand. Yeah.
- 46:19Okay. She's okay, instead.
- 46:21She has to convince these people that Jason is, in fact alive,
- 46:24even though they're doing their best to tell her, it's okay,
- 46:26he's dead. He's got a tiny brain.
- 46:28This man is too stupid to live, she's like, nope, that's not the
- 46:32case. This man.
- 46:33A very big brain. He is it very tough man.
- 46:37Yeah. And to reiterate the point
- 46:39because she's like, trying to convince them to freeze him
- 46:42again and they really like, don't have a reason not to after
- 46:46they finish their study on him or whatever.
- 46:49Except Professor low makes a call to some bigwig academic guy
- 46:55who looks like Randy Lahey anyway.
- 46:59Yeah, I Jim Lahey, I know, but I just like, I, uh, I love the
- 47:03name, Randy Lahey. So I like Randy Lahey to is the
- 47:06best de leus in the show, and he is basically, like, cause she's
- 47:12like, He's like we've got a woman who's up and walking
- 47:15around and choose from the year 2010 and he's like big fucking
- 47:20deal. Do you know how many people
- 47:21Jimmy V kill? And he's like, how many and he's
- 47:23like over 200 and like, yeah, that's a man that we want to
- 47:28thaw. Just go ahead and stick him in
- 47:30the kitchen sink, next to chicken breast, you know, like
- 47:33because body count can't be that high in reality is like this is
- 47:37movie 10. So in the past I movies I don't
- 47:39think he's killed that many people.
- 47:43I don't know, I don't think it's mean that would be insane.
- 47:47Maybe this is a different Jason. This guy's had a different path.
- 47:50So I think maybe we're not seeing everything that happens,
- 47:54you know, maybe he's got a life outside of film, he's got
- 47:57respect his privacy, Travis you do not need to know everything
- 48:01that goes on in his life. I just he is a person to is he I
- 48:07get this point. Isn't he a zombie?
- 48:10I mean zombies were once people, okay, well, I think that,
- 48:15anything that we see from him always sees the notable things,
- 48:18we don't see him just like camping, you know, like who
- 48:21wants to look like? I want to know how he built his
- 48:24little Hut in the woods, and why he died aged.
- 48:27Pamela for all those years. When she was avenging his death,
- 48:31he just happened to find a shed and he happened to find an
- 48:34abandoned toilet in. This is like, this is home.
- 48:38I've found home and He's like, I don't know, I've moved out.
- 48:41Like I don't have to go back to Mom.
- 48:42I'm sufficient on my own. Maybe he had like attachment
- 48:45issues to her early on and like seeing her kill for him.
- 48:49Was like his own little test of like, Let's see how much Mom
- 48:54really does love me? Yeah, well he does have her head
- 48:58in there. Yeah, so he cares about mom.
- 49:02He's looking after Mom now, maybe that was after he found
- 49:05out about his secret sister and he was like oh I was the
- 49:07favorite. Yeah, I forgot about his sister.
- 49:12What is messed up family Dynamic, the Voorhees is have,
- 49:16Okay. So During the autopsy this God,
- 49:26I wrote autopsy and let my notes are all over the place till we
- 49:30see a scene with a center on and km who I have lovingly dubbed,
- 49:36Android, 18 and all of my notes. I appreciate it.
- 49:42We see Friday. I'm going to call it a Friday
- 49:47classic at this point. It was awesome.
- 49:50Jason Takes Manhattan with a teacher in a compromising
- 49:54situation with a student. Except this one takes it a lot
- 49:57farther. Professor low is wearing a Teddy
- 50:00and he's very enthusiastically letting her know that she has
- 50:04passed. He's got his nipples pinched,
- 50:07but it's like in his nipple, right?
- 50:10I remember, we both made a comment like, it worked like,
- 50:12the clamps are inside his nipple.
- 50:15Yeah, that's like, it's weird. That's an advanced Club.
- 50:19Maybe that's where Kim gets her nipples.
- 50:23Oh my God. She just like.
- 50:25Took away Professor lose nipples.
- 50:27Yeah. Because I don't know if this is
- 50:28the actual like following scene but we see what's his name
- 50:33Center on Center on. We see sinner on applying
- 50:36nipples 2km. Yeah she wants them because
- 50:39Janessa has them just how you know that they've been walking
- 50:42around the ship naked. Yeah I mean like that's like I
- 50:47mean maybe the room is the roommates. but like, I don't
- 50:55know, I feel like Cam realizes how significant genetic
- 51:03Janessa's nipples are, which makes me feel like before km and
- 51:08Center on, had this pseudo, sexual relationship that Janessa
- 51:12and km had a pseudo sexual relationship.
- 51:15She might have some really good nipples.
- 51:17Apparently if km 17 so bad to make an Android one nipples,
- 51:21she's like I need that shit. I feel like that's an
- 51:24interesting take on it because normally like with like a clone
- 51:27or Draw ride or Whatever the fuck you want to talk about?
- 51:31Like sci-fi their normal thing is like, no belly button because
- 51:34you don't need it because no umbilical cord and I got God
- 51:39bless the Friday Riders like, nope.
- 51:43Instead we're gonna say that Andrew probably doesn't need
- 51:47nipples, right? I ain't gonna breastfeed.
- 51:49Well, the I just think of like a mannequin, like, you know, do
- 51:52mannequin, see them, some mannequins have them listen.
- 51:56So mannequins are one of those things that like irrationally
- 51:59for Me out and I can tell you that there are definitely
- 52:01mannequins out through that have nipples.
- 52:03Some of them, do some of them. Do you know what I find really?
- 52:06Disturbing is when One Singular store, it does not have like
- 52:12consistent standards across the board for their mannequins.
- 52:15I was thinking about those at Target the other day, because
- 52:18they've got all kinds of mannequins out there, right?
- 52:20Like they've got men, women and men mannequins, women mannequins
- 52:24been with, they've got plus size.
- 52:29And some of them are sporty, some of them are sassy, you
- 52:32know, but what really fucking gets me is the child mannequins
- 52:37don't have heads. Yeah, I wonder if there's a
- 52:40reason for that. There's got to be some kind of
- 52:42fucked-up reason for that. I think they don't want to
- 52:44release to the public. I feel like it's because whoever
- 52:48made the child mannequins, maybe had a toddler in real life and
- 52:51they're like, do you know how much easier it would be to get
- 52:53my child dressed? If they just didn't have this
- 52:55fucking head on their neck, Fair?
- 52:59That's my theory. That's my starting with no no I
- 53:04don't really know what I was thinking but I thought it was
- 53:06going to lead to some bad shit. So okay so Rowan's getting a
- 53:14Caught up. Oh wait, no no.
- 53:16Okay. I miss this, the nipple scene
- 53:19was actually right after Professor low know, so maybe I
- 53:22can do good connection. Yeah so then we get back to the
- 53:25autopsy. / full, scan /, whatever I wrote autopsy on my
- 53:29paper cuz let's call a spade a spade but Jason wakes up and he
- 53:37Takes Adrian's head and dips it in a vat of liquid nitrogen.
- 53:42And I feel like either OSHA still exists in a still
- 53:47consistently being ignored in smaller organizations or OSHA no
- 53:52longer exists in 2455 because there's no way that a giant vat
- 53:58of liquid nitrogen is just sitting there uncovered like
- 54:02this, like, that seems super unsafe, right?
- 54:05Yeah. Like, even like Just think
- 54:07about, like, think about our sink in the kitchen and how
- 54:11often we just knock shit in there.
- 54:13You know what I mean? Like, we don't have Nanobots I
- 54:17don't, they can repair all kinds of things.
- 54:20So, you know, like I feel like, you know, and that's a good
- 54:23point. Did the Nanobots make all of the
- 54:25deaths in this movie, kind of null and void.
- 54:28I don't think so, because I think he's out.
- 54:32Yeah, and not only that, but whatever.
- 54:38What's his name, Israel? Israel, Israel together gets his
- 54:41arm. Chopped off, whenever he gets
- 54:43his arm, chopped off. The only reason they're able to
- 54:46reattach his because they keep his arm and they give him that
- 54:49shot. I guess it's, you know kind of
- 54:51preserve it. So I don't know.
- 54:53You feel like you have to be maybe this wouldn't really
- 54:55matter because if you like bash your skull into the head like
- 54:59this is about to happen to this way, he would Jason but did we
- 55:04are a review that know that's It's happening right now.
- 55:08So when he freezes her head, he didn't smashes it into the
- 55:10counter and it shatters and I hate to ruin.
- 55:15What is clearly the best kill in the entire movie for everybody.
- 55:19But MythBusters did a did a whole episode on this and it was
- 55:24busted. Yeah, they tried it several
- 55:26different ways. They did ballistics filled with
- 55:28likes, goal and guts or whatever, and they also did pigs
- 55:33heads and they did various amounts of time in the liquid
- 55:36nitrogen. Origin.
- 55:37They tried different methods of Smashing the skull and the most
- 55:41they could ever do was like a tiny chip like so it doesn't
- 55:44work, but we didn't, we mention go check it out yourself.
- 55:49Yeah, listen to the science people, who do the science
- 55:51directly instead of my very bad review of it.
- 55:55It doesn't take into account Jason strength though because
- 55:58that man that's true. So you know he can he can do a
- 56:01lot of things that that man is a walking in possibility.
- 56:05Sound. But yeah, she gets her head
- 56:07bashed in, which is awesome. Yep.
- 56:11And this is where we learn about Earth Wind and Earth to Rowan's
- 56:16adjusting, but she's very pissed.
- 56:18That Jason is still on board and she truly doesn't believe that
- 56:23he's dead, and she's saying that you can't kill him, no matter
- 56:26what, she knows about the regenerative tissue, this feels
- 56:29like that. Like rom-com Trope.
- 56:31I was talking about. I want to say it was like, maybe
- 56:33last week. Where they're like, wait, let me
- 56:37explain. Like I feel like she could have
- 56:41been, like, you can't come no matter what because he's got
- 56:44regenerative tissue, like she literally could have said, add
- 56:47those four extra words to her sentence and then they'd be like
- 56:51well, that sounds unlikely. But again, we are living in
- 56:54space right now. So the fair enough, that's when
- 57:00they get an alert, that there's a hostile on board.
- 57:03Yeah. But who else could it be?
- 57:06We see him kill Stony after he he he comes out after his after
- 57:13he comes. Yeah I mean pretty much after he
- 57:16has his little sex scene it's a little sexy that kind of like
- 57:23makes any accomplished in their just sound like it was nothing
- 57:27accomplishment. Oh no I mean you know coming
- 57:32accomplishment. You put that on your resume,
- 57:40like came. this is, I don't know, man.
- 58:03No, I want to think about this, you know, I don't know man.
- 58:16Like okay, porn stars, although I feel porn star saying I feel
- 58:20like you have to put how quickly you'll come though because I
- 58:22feel like you have to last a while, right?
- 58:24Yeah, your accomplishment there is not coming.
- 58:30Maybe a certain seasons of, like The Bachelorette like, why, why
- 58:36does that have to do with anything?
- 58:38I mean, sex is important in a relationship.
- 58:40Oh, yeah. But like, is that like, they're
- 58:42not like, he's not sleeping with him on the show, isn't he?
- 58:45I feel like there have been no clue, but I know the seasons
- 58:49usually ended up proposal, I think I'm like, that's terrible.
- 58:52Would you want to marry somebody?
- 58:53If you weren't sure whether or not they could come O, A lot of
- 58:57people do. So, okay.
- 58:59But would you But yeah, so he did that and then he got killed.
- 59:11So he accomplished it, he died. He ended on a high note that we
- 59:20cut to some soldiers, they're in the air and some VR training.
- 59:28What is the fucking video game VR thing Oculus Oculus.
- 59:32I wanted to make it Oculus joke but I could not pull the knee
- 59:35Name from my brain Oculus is like the main leaders.
- 59:38Yeah others know. Well you knew which one I met?
- 59:40Yeah I mean that's what I've disengage do.
- 59:44I from The Gaming Community so I don't really know much shit
- 59:47anymore. Why would you do that?
- 59:48It doesn't entirely supportive and not at all.
- 59:50Toxic place to be at. Yeah, moving on.
- 59:59So Jason appears during merrier like little video game time.
- 1:00:03I, I think they're meant to be trained.
- 1:00:05I think they're just playing video games.
- 1:00:07I mean yeah it feels like a video game.
- 1:00:10It feels like one of those things were you.
- 1:00:11Like you say is team building but it's like you're just having
- 1:00:15fun. Yeah.
- 1:00:16Like in the office where they play Call of Duty and it like
- 1:00:18it's a team building activity. Yeah, exactly.
- 1:00:20Like we we play volleyball at work.
- 1:00:22Sometimes really gets to building.
- 1:00:24I mean in a way it is like but also.
- 1:00:28Well yeah. You guys are just goofing
- 1:00:30around. I never played the volleyball
- 1:00:34because I do myself. Yeah, whatever.
- 1:00:38Okay. But yeah, they try to pause the
- 1:00:40game and they see Jason and it doesn't pause, and they're like,
- 1:00:43oh no. So in the game like they turn
- 1:00:45off the game completely there on the floor, Jason standing above
- 1:00:49them and then he decides that he's going to attack and he gets
- 1:00:52Azrael and he goes all Dark Knight Rises on him before
- 1:00:55smashing his head. When I say Dark Knight Rises so
- 1:00:57he doesn't do that. As really does it to the other.
- 1:00:59No he doesn't. Yeah, he likes / is Azrael.
- 1:01:02He likes washes them down the middle.
- 1:01:06Okay, but yeah. And yeah, so he was doing the
- 1:01:10whole scene or Bane is like crap.
- 1:01:21Yeah. Jason actually says that.
- 1:01:23Yeah, it's kind of crazy. So it's weird that it has masks
- 1:01:26give gives his voice the exact same effect as beans Mass.
- 1:01:29Yeah, I know. Christopher Nolan straight up
- 1:01:31ripped it off. Its yeah, this is a total total
- 1:01:34ripoff. Yeah, I came in there spouting
- 1:01:36about being mold that's why he named him beIN, because he was
- 1:01:39like, Kane, Kane, Kane beIN super original.
- 1:01:53Give this man a harpoon He's better than cane.
- 1:01:58He's big. Just like he's pitching this
- 1:02:05shit like right in the middle of like to exact seems like have
- 1:02:10you seen that post? We're talking to oh God, what is
- 1:02:15his name? Thomas Harris.
- 1:02:16Who they're like, he's like I've got a new book I do for you and
- 1:02:21they're like I sure hope it's better than your last pitch over
- 1:02:25murderer named her durrrr. And he's like it definitely is.
- 1:02:30It's about a cannibal. Her name her murder.
- 1:02:37Yeah, heat. Thomas Harris.
- 1:02:38He wrote Silence of the Lambs Hannibal the cannibal.
- 1:02:44Oh no. That's something that pops into
- 1:02:49my head all the time. Just murderer herder, where the
- 1:02:53murderer? No, man, if I can find that.
- 1:02:58Oh, I'll try to remember to post it to our Instagram.
- 1:03:01I'm not editing this week. Nobody's letting this week.
- 1:03:03So the odds of me remembering that are slim to none, but we'll
- 1:03:06see what happens. So, the professor really, really
- 1:03:12wants the money that he could make from bringing Jason and
- 1:03:15alive and soft. And he tells the commander that
- 1:03:19and the Commando really wants to make sure everybody's safe,
- 1:03:21which is why he is the Commando command.
- 1:03:23Or Commander, I wrote commander in my notes Again I do not know
- 1:03:28what any of these people's jobs has like I hope that that's what
- 1:03:37it was because I mean you know you're just saying this man's
- 1:03:39Commando now. Oh yeah.
- 1:03:41I mean he's probably not wearing underwear.
- 1:03:43You know what he was wearing any clothes?
- 1:03:45Actually, when he's doing the video calls, this is where you
- 1:03:48have to put on your resume that you came because you have to go
- 1:03:52commando all the time. Yeah, I guess.
- 1:03:55I don't know. Well, Here to go to Creator.
- 1:03:57The cam. No but I mean like it speeds
- 1:03:59things up. Yeah.
- 1:04:05Anyway, he he agrees that he'll try to take Jason alive but once
- 1:04:12Professor low leaves, he tells us Soldier.
- 1:04:15He's like yeah, I mean just take the guy down but she was like a
- 1:04:18made. It make it look like we tried.
- 1:04:21Yeah, exactly. He's a good manager.
- 1:04:26He's the kind of manager you want, because he's on your side.
- 1:04:29Exactly. Yeah, that's the type of dude,
- 1:04:30you want and they find a blood trail.
- 1:04:33And at this point, like it's just a bunch of shooty, shooty,
- 1:04:38shooty, stabby, stabby stabby, you punch B.
- 1:04:39Punch B, punch throw, throw throw.
- 1:04:42I'm not going to go through it. Beat by beat.
- 1:04:44It's not pod. Kind of goes out the window
- 1:04:46here. It's basically just like it's
- 1:04:48all action movies, okay? Yeah.
- 1:04:55Stitch together of death? Yeah, the next few minutes.
- 1:04:59He gets five body kill counts. Like he doesn't Ali.
- 1:05:03Grab of somebody comes behind them.
- 1:05:06On a walkway. They have like a fist fight.
- 1:05:10Let's see. Somebody says he's screwed.
- 1:05:15Then there's a big drill, get it.
- 1:05:17He's screwed. Big drill here.
- 1:05:20Like, Let's see. Somebody gets split in half by a
- 1:05:25kick. Oh no.
- 1:05:28No, his name was kicker, okay. Like I do incredible shorthand
- 1:05:34with my notes, which only helps if I'm not trying to read them
- 1:05:37live on. Are my notes for this movie, got
- 1:05:40progressively more swap that sloppy because quick we were
- 1:05:43just drinking during this, and I was like getting a little bit
- 1:05:46buzzed. Okay, so Jason, kills the
- 1:05:49pilots. We find out that there are 60
- 1:05:51grunts on Solaris and then Solaris explodes.
- 1:05:55All of our remaining main characters.
- 1:05:57Is have made it to an escape pod, they sent out a distress
- 1:06:01signal is just dress begin to Grendel.
- 1:06:07Because their thrusters are offline.
- 1:06:11Jason busting all of the students scatter Professor.
- 1:06:14Low does what the woman at the beginning of part. 6 does and
- 1:06:18like, tries to offer him money, like he's a, you just want
- 1:06:21money, like, you want my money. I'll give you a share some money
- 1:06:24with you. And Jason has no concept of
- 1:06:27money. They should have known this suit
- 1:06:29because he was talking about how tiny his brain was like.
- 1:06:33And then like, for whatever reason, Professor, aloha.
- 1:06:37Machete at this point and then like Jason like reaches where he
- 1:06:39is oh you want your machete? And it has like the exact same
- 1:06:43energy of like when you're on the couch and you're sitting on
- 1:06:45one of talia's toys and she comes up and she's like barking
- 1:06:48at you because she wants her to wait and you realize you're
- 1:06:50like, oh you want Kathy? Yeah it's definitely just like
- 1:06:55that. Yeah.
- 1:06:57So he's killed. He's killed off screen.
- 1:07:01They plan to Launch. Shuttle.
- 1:07:11I don't know what this note says.
- 1:07:13I think what they're trying their truck, they have like 40
- 1:07:15minutes before they can get out of there.
- 1:07:17So yeah. It's like 45 minutes before.
- 1:07:19Grendel can come get to them. Yeah.
- 1:07:20Like we need you here a lot faster.
- 1:07:22Yeah. They're trying to like slow
- 1:07:25Jason down as much as possible. Yeah.
- 1:07:27And then km does like one of the whole like he does like a C-3PO
- 1:07:31thing about the odds and Center on goes can't you come up with
- 1:07:36better odds and then they kiss and then this is literally the
- 1:07:39most upsetting Injuries for me and the entire movie and it is
- 1:07:43the single thick wet string of saliva that stretches between
- 1:07:50them for like, a full foot. And have you ever seen lady in
- 1:07:57the Tramp? Yeah, I think everybody knows.
- 1:07:59Yeah. So, that's what it is.
- 1:08:01Except of spit the spaghetti. Yeah, it's gross.
- 1:08:05What makes it even more upsetting, is that km is an
- 1:08:09Android. And she cannot produce her own
- 1:08:11spit. She, this is also done.
- 1:08:14I would say that she could be an advanced Android, but she
- 1:08:16doesn't have nipples so maybe exactly.
- 1:08:18She doesn't have so, I've either.
- 1:08:20Yes. Didn't they do like an upgrade
- 1:08:22on her to, at this point? I don't think no, that's like,
- 1:08:26coming up next. Okay.
- 1:08:28Yeah. But it's like, It's it's worse.
- 1:08:32It's like up there. In terms of things that have
- 1:08:34upset me. I haven't been this upset
- 1:08:36talking about this movie since we mentioned Jason's pruney,
- 1:08:40fingers, strangling us. Yeah, it's a complete textile.
- 1:08:46Yeah, I feel you. So they find lows head and then
- 1:08:52Jason smashes, the head of a crutch I believe is his name.
- 1:08:58Smashes it into the controls. Kenzo wall, open the door.
- 1:09:05For the people that are like trying to get in and they try to
- 1:09:08launch. But they still have the fuel
- 1:09:10lines attached. That's right.
- 1:09:13Let's see. Jason appears.
- 1:09:16Km gets her upgrade and she looks fucking hot.
- 1:09:19Yeah, she is in this like latex bodysuit and she does about 50
- 1:09:25back handsprings and she shoots at Jason and that's the shit.
- 1:09:29Yeah, yes it's very like Kung Pao meets them.
- 1:09:35Matrix. Yeah and then Jason rip her head
- 1:09:39off. It's okay.
- 1:09:41She's not dead because she she is an Android as we are reminded
- 1:09:45of continuously. Yes she does manage to get Jason
- 1:09:51basically shredded. So he gets knocked into this
- 1:09:56little thing and then he's they think they've killed him but
- 1:09:59really what happens is suddenly I don't remember exactly but
- 1:10:03yeah, they serve Just doing their thing on Jason and what
- 1:10:08ends up happening is Jason gets his very own upgrade which leads
- 1:10:11to the iconic mask that we see on the colored race.
- 1:10:14And yeah, we were Jason, he's gotta go, I'm not making that
- 1:10:17up. That is what he is canonically
- 1:10:18referred to as Uber isn't, yes, that's what they called him in
- 1:10:21the outer space, like, many bonuses right watched.
- 1:10:25Yeah, I like that. Yeah, so he's got like a cross.
- 1:10:28Oh, you like it. Now that, you know, it came from
- 1:10:31the Creator's, but when it's me doing it, you're like, yeah,
- 1:10:33whatever. Shut up.
- 1:10:35Yeah. But yeah, my man, he's all
- 1:10:40upgraded. He has like a new torso new face
- 1:10:44and he's going after them though.
- 1:10:47So I think what they have to do is they realize that it's
- 1:10:50getting close to time for them to be picked up, but they need
- 1:10:54one final distraction. So what they end up doing is
- 1:10:57they kind of lead him into this area where they can do a
- 1:11:00hologram and they just generate a Camp Crystal Lake scenario
- 1:11:06where there are two Campers there that are trying to just
- 1:11:10like, what was it that they say to him feel like do you want to
- 1:11:15get really high? Get naked and have premarital
- 1:11:17sax. That's right.
- 1:11:18And then they just like to take off their shirt and get on the
- 1:11:20sleeping bag. Yeah, it cuts away to them.
- 1:11:22Get back to the survivors, trying to get into the Escape
- 1:11:26pod, or whatever. This is another instance where
- 1:11:28putting came on your resume would come in handy cave.
- 1:11:32Yes, yes, exactly. Yeah, but we cut back and Jason
- 1:11:38is just picked up one of them in the sleeping bag and is throwing
- 1:11:42it against the other person in the sleeping bag.
- 1:11:44And one of my favorite scenes in the movie and is obviously a
- 1:11:47callback to the sleeping bag seen from.
- 1:11:50Yes movie, is it part 7? Yes, yeah.
- 1:11:53And he gets that guy should go all out with this one too
- 1:11:56because I remember, we express his frustration part 7.
- 1:11:59Yeah. In part 7 like they shot it with
- 1:12:02him hitting the tree so many times, which is remarkable
- 1:12:04because there were gallons and gallons of fake blood and that
- 1:12:06sleeping bag with the A is bunch of little pussy ass bitches and
- 1:12:12they cut that shit down and so like, you know, he had this
- 1:12:18entire fucking work out and they only use one single smash
- 1:12:21against usury, so disappointing. So he gets some rage out.
- 1:12:26Yeah. He had that built up for like
- 1:12:28years. You finally got to do it.
- 1:12:30Good for him. Yeah.
- 1:12:32So I think what happens here is the escape pod drives everybody
- 1:12:37gets on. The shift.
- 1:12:38Yeah. Matt what that's the name of the
- 1:12:41Escape pod? Oh okay, right.
- 1:12:44So yeah, they all get on there and suddenly I guess they make
- 1:12:49it off in time everything. Here's it there's like a hole
- 1:12:52the hole in the hole. Oh yes.
- 1:12:55That's right. Which like his Jason like fist
- 1:12:58the door and I had a problem with this because like you see
- 1:13:03it on TV shows where there's like a hole in the airplane or
- 1:13:06whatever and like suction Man isn't because of the difference
- 1:13:11in air pressure, which is all fine.
- 1:13:12And well, I accept that within Earth's atmosphere, but we are
- 1:13:15outside of Earth's atmosphere. I think it's so happens in
- 1:13:19space. I feel like the results are way
- 1:13:21more catastrophic, though, in space.
- 1:13:23Yeah. Probably.
- 1:13:24Yeah. Like they would all be dead.
- 1:13:26Oh, yeah, most likely there's like, okay.
- 1:13:28It's this fuck, I can't remember what it is.
- 1:13:32There's like an IT famous instance of this happening in a
- 1:13:34submarine which is like a similar kind of premise where
- 1:13:37it's like a Difference in pressure?
- 1:13:39Yeah. They're like deep deep
- 1:13:40underwater and the like double lock chamber, whatever
- 1:13:43malfunctions. And it was like catastrophic.
- 1:13:46Like a chromosome, like a crush can write.
- 1:13:49Yeah. Like well, it doesn't crumble
- 1:13:51the submarine but like the people were.
- 1:13:54Yeah. Oh yeah.
- 1:13:55Easy job. Yeah, that's terrifying.
- 1:13:58But it's called I know you're talking about.
- 1:14:00I think that's like looked into that a while back.
- 1:14:03Yeah, but that doesn't happen to them because this is, you know,
- 1:14:06Friday the 13th, he said, The types of things that read before
- 1:14:09bed, which might explain all the nightmares.
- 1:14:11I keep detailing on our nightmare, I'll see this is
- 1:14:13possibly. Yeah, so yeah, the explosion
- 1:14:17happened. See they've succeeded they you
- 1:14:20know Jason blew up in the fire everything's fine but holy shit.
- 1:14:24They're pulling pulling away and then all of a sudden Jason
- 1:14:28survived the explosion and he is being propelled right towards
- 1:14:31them. But what's this guy's name?
- 1:14:38Broadsky Brodsky has other plans, he's straight-up tackles
- 1:14:42Jason saves him and he tackles I'm all the way in to Earth.
- 1:14:45So they are just shooting from outer space and Earth burning up
- 1:14:49in the atmosphere. It's pretty incredible.
- 1:14:52And then basically that's the end of the movie except I think
- 1:14:56we get another credit. Yeah, we see, it was right
- 1:14:58before the credits. It's like we see a campsite and
- 1:15:00I don't, we don't know what planet, this is meant to be on
- 1:15:03my thoughts. This is my head Canon, is that
- 1:15:05it's Earth One? And it's like a part other than
- 1:15:09America like America, destroyed America's resources and they
- 1:15:14like well birth is doomed. And they just went to space and
- 1:15:17like the rest of the planet is fine because like we see this
- 1:15:21campsite and I see like a shooting star which we know is
- 1:15:24Jason and Brodsky. And they're like, hey let's go
- 1:15:27check that out and that's that's, um, that's how it bends.
- 1:15:32Yeah. And I would like to do a
- 1:15:36tribute. Oh yeah.
- 1:15:43To Kane Hodder in his last movie.
- 1:15:47What are you doing 13th? What is this?
- 1:15:51I'm scared like we'll get to it in a minute and give me a
- 1:15:56second. Talk about your final thoughts
- 1:15:58on the movie. Okay.
- 1:15:59Yeah, I can do my posts thoughts now, so, yeah, I still have a
- 1:16:05good time watching this movie. It's a lot of fun.
- 1:16:07But man, is it a mess? The pie just kind of jumps all
- 1:16:11over the place. Is I still feel like it's like,
- 1:16:15hey, crazy imitation of what a Friday, the 13th movie should
- 1:16:19be, I feel like they wanted to take that premise.
- 1:16:21They wanted to take it somewhere else.
- 1:16:23I feel like if you're going to be changing the location, you're
- 1:16:25going to be changing so much about, you know what this is
- 1:16:29going to be like you can maybe deviate a little bit from
- 1:16:33Friday, the 13th, it's not doing super well in the box office
- 1:16:36around this time. It didn't do well with the Jason
- 1:16:38Goes to Hell. This is like your second movie
- 1:16:42with Jason as a character and you've invested poorly like,
- 1:16:46he's not doing well. There's, you know, there's a
- 1:16:49reason may be that the rights got sold to you.
- 1:16:52I don't know try and reinvent the character and make them
- 1:16:56interesting. But what they did was like yeah
- 1:16:59let's just kind of take everything that every Friday,
- 1:17:02the 13th movie kind of does and just put it in space.
- 1:17:07Listen change really much of anything else, it's just, you
- 1:17:10know, keep uninteresting characters.
- 1:17:12I don't even remember half of their names like, no, none of
- 1:17:16them stand out, except for km. I think, cam is really the only
- 1:17:20one that stands out even like the final girl in this, like,
- 1:17:23already know, the one that Rowan Rowan.
- 1:17:26Like, I barely even like, remember most of the shit that
- 1:17:29she did. Like it's just I don't know
- 1:17:33objectively it's a shitty movie but I still have fun watching it
- 1:17:38because personally I enjoy watching stupid movies, you
- 1:17:41know? So that's where half of me is
- 1:17:43going to keep it at five. And it's definitely this is
- 1:17:48always talked about before like we have a talking about writing
- 1:17:52for this movie and a watching rating for this movie.
- 1:17:55Yeah. Like because talking about it I
- 1:17:57feel like we did a little bit better on take two just because
- 1:18:02honestly we gave ourselves more tangents like this episode is
- 1:18:05really not much longer than the previous one was and we had a
- 1:18:09lot more Divergence has like talking about it.
- 1:18:13There's not a ton to talk about with it like you got And cool
- 1:18:16kills. You've got like some really fun
- 1:18:18stuff. The fun parts are really, really
- 1:18:19fun. But once you finish talking
- 1:18:21about those couple moments, like it's boring.
- 1:18:25Yeah. Like there's not a lot else to
- 1:18:26talk about. I'm not a big action movie
- 1:18:28person either, though, so I think that's part of it for me.
- 1:18:30I'm not either. Yeah, maybe that's what the
- 1:18:33issue is. Yeah, try and make it action in
- 1:18:35which slick before we agreed that, like talking about it, we
- 1:18:39give this movie fives, all around.
- 1:18:41Like so we went down from an average of 62, an average of
- 1:18:44five that's just talking about Like watching it.
- 1:18:47I really feel like this movie is closer to seven and a half
- 1:18:49eight, like I love the experience of watching this
- 1:18:52movie. If I'm giving it a watching
- 1:18:53rating, then yeah, I'll give it. Because I like, how ridiculous
- 1:18:59has, I would give it an 8 because, I mean, I always loved
- 1:19:03putting it on. I would never say no to watch
- 1:19:05him. Jason X Talia was asleep.
- 1:19:09Like, not even in the room with us.
- 1:19:11Like she was asleep in the bedroom, the whole time we gave.
- 1:19:14We said that she also gave it a 5 because she did have stuff to
- 1:19:17say before. Yeah, you all I wish I could
- 1:19:21have heard. She had lots of sniffs, she had
- 1:19:23a couple Barks, A little bit of a growl.
- 1:19:26She really did. She had a lot.
- 1:19:27She had a lot going on. Yeah, right tribute to be time
- 1:19:33don't forget, we got to pull out the reviews.
- 1:19:35I've got him. So don't worry.
- 1:19:36Okay. Pretend that there's like some
- 1:19:39keyboard music playing. It was early in my childhood
- 1:19:46pretend and I was gone and I really have enjoyed your stay,
- 1:19:51but new line must be moving on. Goodbye.
- 1:19:56Akane. It's tonight.
- 1:20:00Sorry, stuck in my eyes I was gonna say hope you find your
- 1:20:07Paradise, people with them, you know, the original lyrics.
- 1:20:12Okay, listen. I was going to do more of it but
- 1:20:15I only listen to that song when you make me listen to it.
- 1:20:18So I wasn't sure how everything went he didn't, you did good.
- 1:20:23Thank you, Michael. Scott.
- 1:20:24Also does it Toby's, farewell? Yeah, goodbye.
- 1:20:27Toby. So, you know that much of it?
- 1:20:30Yeah, I'm proud of you. It's a good song.
- 1:20:34Can't put Tunes in but look up, Goodbye.
- 1:20:36Stranger by Supertramp. It's that's also a banger.
- 1:20:41You don't bang your head to it, though.
- 1:20:42It would just be like just no banging.
- 1:20:45It's just right. You can bang to it.
- 1:20:48I mean you could be kind of weird.
- 1:20:51Yeah. Okay okay so we have some
- 1:20:53reviews if I can find them. All right, so from our Pals, at
- 1:21:01always room for more podcast. Hi guys, be sure to go check
- 1:21:05them out. They said, ah, Jason X when
- 1:21:08Jason Goes where, no hockey mask wearing psychopath has gone
- 1:21:11before. Space is super fun.
- 1:21:14Watch that really turns the franchise on its head.
- 1:21:16Giving us a cyborg looking Jason, something no one asked
- 1:21:19for but go ahead. We got can't be horrified at its
- 1:21:22best for school's out of 5. All right.
- 1:21:25Yeah I mean we Both kind of agreed with that whenever we
- 1:21:28were giving our watching reviews soon.
- 1:21:31Yeah, I mean, I really is it really is fun and campy.
- 1:21:35I am going to disagree slightly though.
- 1:21:36And I know you and I this is what our major disagreement was
- 1:21:39is that I don't feel like this movie is any different than it
- 1:21:41is a friend. Yeah, I disagree with that part.
- 1:21:43Like, it doesn't flip anything on.
- 1:21:45His head is just, is kind of more of the same just different
- 1:21:48setting. Let's see, Halloween, 24/7 on
- 1:21:54Instagram. They've got a lot of fun stuff.
- 1:21:57That they post pretty regularly. That's a fun trivia.
- 1:22:00They said not a fan, tried to like it but can't and clearly
- 1:22:05the box office ratings. Agree with this.
- 1:22:10It's not a super. Well, I don't feel like there's
- 1:22:13any one of these people just based off of the box office.
- 1:22:16Not only that, a lot of people try though, I can't like, nobody
- 1:22:19want to go see it. I feel like they were kind of
- 1:22:22put off by the premise. Maybe.
- 1:22:23I can see that because it does almost like it's the jump of the
- 1:22:26show. Nothing like, oh, he's in space.
- 1:22:28I was gonna say Jumping the Shark, but this franchise
- 1:22:31goddamn. I feel like we jumped the shark
- 1:22:34pretty early fucking on. We did.
- 1:22:36But then they like, I don't know.
- 1:22:38They like right at the ship with part of six.
- 1:22:41And then like because a lot of people think part 6 is the best
- 1:22:44movie in the entire franchise. It's up there but I feel like it
- 1:22:50was kind of coasting on that Goodwill for a little bit.
- 1:22:52When yeah, it's not really that great after that, it's so funny
- 1:22:55because I listen to a lot of the Like Halloween playlist on
- 1:22:58Spotify and Alice Cooper's on there and all, I can think of
- 1:23:02this part sucks. Yeah, yeah.
- 1:23:05Okay. And then I hope you suffer
- 1:23:06podcast. I guys, check them out.
- 1:23:10They said the best Friday, the 13th movie because it's code and
- 1:23:12burns line. I want him soft.
- 1:23:15I can agree that. That's yeah, maybe the best part
- 1:23:17of you. That's literally the best line
- 1:23:20delivery. This entire franchise.
- 1:23:22Yes. And you can never convince me,
- 1:23:23otherwise, For sure, podcast in the backseat said, loads of fun.
- 1:23:34It is a lots of fun, it is lots of fun and then I'm Feldman.
- 1:23:39Hi, thanks for listening. We're glad to see you interact
- 1:23:42and you're always interacting with us and we appreciate it.
- 1:23:46They said loved it. Combining my two favorite genres
- 1:23:49sci-fi and horror. And oh boy if you love tropes,
- 1:23:53you get double the tropes with this mixture.
- 1:23:56Is that what he said? No.
- 1:23:58I thought that. That's right.
- 1:23:59My editorial ization, okay. But I mean I do love troops
- 1:24:03though. I love it when a movie like
- 1:24:05subverts tropes, but also like I love camp and Camp relies
- 1:24:08heavily on having fun with those tropes.
- 1:24:10So I'm all for it, all in all, I can see why this might not be
- 1:24:15everybody's cup of tea, because it is, Like it's different but
- 1:24:20the same you know what I mean? Like it's taking a very familiar
- 1:24:24premise and it's like not doing enough new with it.
- 1:24:27You get a couple really cool kills with it but I would have
- 1:24:30loved to see them be even more self-aware.
- 1:24:33I feel like they kind of miss that Mark.
- 1:24:36For me, not that it's not a fun movie in this neat.
- 1:24:40The VR scene is really fun for me.
- 1:24:42The night to the liquid nitrogen, kill is obviously
- 1:24:45amazing. And of course, they agreed to
- 1:24:47David Cronenberg. Terms, which was the correct
- 1:24:50choice. But I like there is a lot of
- 1:24:54downtime. This is a movie that like, I can
- 1:24:56comfortably be reading a book while I'm watching it, you know?
- 1:24:59Yeah, yeah, really I can look up for the cool Parts.
- 1:25:02Exactly perfectly. But yeah.
- 1:25:05All right, I think that's it. Hopefully we have good audio for
- 1:25:09this. We are going to try and pull
- 1:25:10some trailers for this. So you guys can, at least you'll
- 1:25:12get a preview of some of our conversation.
- 1:25:14Sorry that it's not as edited as normal.
- 1:25:17We are If you're upset about it, we're ten times more upset,
- 1:25:21trust me? Yes, it's 11th Hour, re-record,
- 1:25:25either this or you would have shitty audio.
- 1:25:27Yeah, I know. And it's not even, it's not even
- 1:25:29just bad quality audio. Like, it's corrupted audio.
- 1:25:33Yeah, I've no idea what happened.
- 1:25:35So, yeah. So we will be back next Thursday
- 1:25:39with Night of the Demons, which either of us has seen before.
- 1:25:43But we're really excited about and we're going to be meeting a
- 1:25:45lot of the cast at scare fest this weekend.
- 1:25:48It's going to be awesome. So we're looking forward to
- 1:25:50that. Yeah, and be sure to be checking
- 1:25:52our social media, this weekend, because we are going to be at
- 1:25:54scare fest, and hopefully, we'll have some cool and interesting
- 1:25:57things to share with you guys while we were there.
- 1:25:59Speaking of our social media, you can find us on Facebook.
- 1:26:02It's just our name. You can find us on Instagram.
- 1:26:04At least favorite scary movie podcast.
- 1:26:06You can find us on Twitter. At least fav pod, if you like
- 1:26:09our chaotic energy, that is probably the best of our social
- 1:26:12medias to follow. Our other two are much more
- 1:26:15structured. The Twitter, the Our gets
- 1:26:18chaotic because we posed tweet and we don't specify which one
- 1:26:21of us is tweeting and sometimes will be like, watching a movie
- 1:26:24together, and we will tweet completely opposing opinions.
- 1:26:27And it's a lot of fun, especially on like live.watch
- 1:26:30throughs like live, watch parties and guess who.
- 1:26:33Yeah, we've got a website. What's your least favorite scary
- 1:26:37movie.com? We've been posting all of our
- 1:26:40daily horror watches. Not everything we watch in a
- 1:26:44day, but like our singular pick for the day.
- 1:26:48Screen screen 2021. Yeah once this month's over
- 1:26:52we're going to go back to like posting like horror movie
- 1:26:55reviews. I'm going to get back into
- 1:26:56posting short stories. Hopefully we'll be able to put a
- 1:26:59little bit more extra artwork. Maybe maybe it's just some
- 1:27:03really nice stuff. Maybe some of my special effects
- 1:27:06stuff I've been playing with your wife's.
- 1:27:09My short stories. We already said treasuries see
- 1:27:14if oh God Travis we forgot something.
- 1:27:18Very important. Who did you relate to?
- 1:27:21I remember saying I related to the guy that got his arm cut off
- 1:27:26because I have that same energy. You worked at a hole in the
- 1:27:29sure, didn't you? Yep.
- 1:27:31Yep. That's the kind of energy that
- 1:27:33guy probably has. Jesse was just staring at me and
- 1:27:38I knew that I had a whole year that was forming.
- 1:27:41I said that I related to Rowan because I too could probably go
- 1:27:45to sleep anxious and then wake up four and a half century.
- 1:27:49Still anxious. That's true.
- 1:27:52Thank you that. Okay.
- 1:27:55All right, thank you all for listening, and for sticking with
- 1:27:59us, we would appreciate it. If you like what we're doing
- 1:28:03when she clearly do, if you're still listening to write a
- 1:28:06review And subscribe, it just really helps other people.
- 1:28:09Find us like those ratings, kind of boost this up in the charts
- 1:28:12reviews. Help people know what to expect.
- 1:28:14Subscribing helps those algorithms?
- 1:28:17I don't know it. Computer shit.
- 1:28:19I don't understand a lot about but we just know that it helps
- 1:28:22and it's been helping as you guys have been doing that.
- 1:28:25We've been getting a lot more people listening.
- 1:28:27A lot more people answering our polls and everybody.
- 1:28:30Yeah, hi, we're so glad you're here.
- 1:28:32You look really nice today. Sounds like the guy like hello,
- 1:28:36my friends above 18. All right, I thought breakfast
