- 0:34Late Thursday, early Friday, Everyone else in the world if
- 0:38you hear technical problems abound.
- 0:43I am not well. I am going live late, but I'm
- 0:46here. I made an effort and that's what
- 0:48matters. Thanks all for being here.
- 0:52I appreciate you all so much. Got up TikTok, God damn it.
- 0:58Too loud and too stupid. But anyway, I'm here, end of the
- 1:04week here with another weekly ritual.
- 1:10Oh, my lights are not now my lights are not working.
- 1:13This is going to be awesome off the rails, as we say on the
- 1:16glacially musical podcast Hello love.
- 1:19My girlfriend is here. I am not at her house.
- 1:21That's what sucks right now. I am not felt we're we're both
- 1:24under the weather. I'm under the weather.
- 1:27I had an amazing time yesterday for my birthday and then felt I
- 1:34was coming down with a bug. And here we are.
- 1:37So what are you going to do? Not a whole lot you can do.
- 1:45Just do the thing and hope for the best.
- 1:51What are you going to do? But we're going to do the show.
- 1:56We're going to do the rock and metal news, what we do every
- 1:59week at this time of the world. This is your first time here.
- 2:04Feel free to like and subscribeghostcultmag.com is
- 2:08your 24/7 365 source rock and metal news and managed to get
- 2:19through the week and do all the things.
- 2:22So just making sure that good old TikTok is also here.
- 2:28We are streaming live. The best experience for this is
- 2:31Facebook, YouTube, Twitch and Instagram.
- 2:34But also, I like hanging out on TikTok with all you.
- 2:37Eric Kaplan is here. Hi, Eric.
- 2:41We have a lot to get through and a lot to talk about, I feel.
- 2:44Just well enough to do the show. I took a huge nap today and I'm
- 2:51I'm. I'm highly medicated right now
- 2:54and hydrated. So yeah, this is.
- 2:57Going to be an unusual an unusual.
- 2:59One, but nonetheless, I'm still here and I'm proud of me.
- 3:05Thanks for tuning in to everybody watching Goon is here.
- 3:10That's a cool name. If you have a cool screen name,
- 3:12I'm going to talk about it. This is probably my favorite
- 3:16picture of me in the last six or seven months like what is
- 3:21happening here. This is awesome Kefi with his
- 3:25gears to grind here for the weekly show.
- 3:28So I'll bring in the deck. Unfortunately, everybody on.
- 3:31TikTok cannot appreciate this. But that's OK.
- 3:35That's OK too. Let's see if I can get this
- 3:46thing to work at all. Probably not.
- 3:53Oh, wow. Just going to be what it's going
- 3:56to be, folks. Liam is here.
- 3:59Hey, Raquel Figlo is here. Congrats on your engagement,
- 4:03friend. Any who here hey, Kurt's here my
- 4:09my everydayers, my real ones, my family, my chosen family Kurtis.
- 4:15Alyssa was just talking to Curtis.
- 4:18Let's. Kick off the show.
- 4:19The OTW is here. Let's kick off the show.
- 4:23So let's see. As usual, we start with the
- 4:28announcements. And it has been yet another.
- 4:36Just yet another week in the world where it just keeps
- 4:40getting harder and harder. You know, it just keeps getting
- 4:47harder, but we're going to, we're going to, we're going to
- 4:51follow through, we're going to stay consistent and do the damn
- 4:54thing. First and foremost, a pretty
- 5:00killer announcement. Ghost Cult is going to Dillinger
- 5:04has arrived. What's up?
- 5:08Dillinger has arrived. Curtis is here, but he's
- 5:10greeting everybody. Those cultists teamed up with
- 5:13Golden Voice, the Prove, the biggest promoter of West Coast
- 5:16concerts, to give away 5 pairs of tickets to the cult.
- 5:22In Los Angeles, right around Halloween, the last day of their
- 5:26tour, the cult is doing a very rare tour this year with death
- 5:32Cult. Jimmy B is also here.
- 5:35Death cult is the pre cult post punk.
- 5:42New wave band. That then morphed into the Hard
- 5:45Rock of the cult that you all know, the strip club classics
- 5:48like Firewoman and other things. So we have teamed up with Golden
- 5:54Voice to give away tickets to the tour, to that show, to the
- 5:58LA show. 5 pairs of tickets are up for grants.
- 6:01All you got to do is hit the link in our description.
- 6:06I will I will send the link in where people on TikTok can
- 6:10enter, let me text the link to myself and then drop it into
- 6:17into the description just fine. Sometimes you.
- 6:24Have to do these. Things drop a link to yourself.
- 6:28Hold on one second, everybody. But yeah, I hope people will,
- 6:32you know, if you have an opportunity to enter to win,
- 6:38anyone can win, which is rad. It is not from Traveler Lodging.
- 6:44It is just for the tickets to the show.
- 6:47But, you know, if you're in the West Coast, if you feel like you
- 6:50want to make a trip to LA, there's a good chance you will
- 6:53win. We recently gave away tickets to
- 6:55any show for the Word Junior Chelsea Wolf Tour, which is
- 6:58almost over 10 more days on that tour.
- 7:00I saw that tour here in Oakland was great and you 100% have a
- 7:09chance to win. It's kind of picked at random.
- 7:12So you just have to follow some very basic rules and you could
- 7:16win, which is rad. There is comment.
- 7:29There you go and I'm going to pin this.
- 7:33TikTok is hard. Pin this comment.
- 7:37Boom. All righty.
- 7:39So, yeah, we're giving tickets away to that.
- 7:41Well, we got some people here, Dillinger from the Ian Espery,
- 7:45not so much. Billy.
- 7:46Billy Duffy, if you know, you know.
- 7:47Yeah, I got you, bro. I got you.
- 7:53Strip club classic. So true.
- 7:55It is, Firewoman. You've ever been to a strip
- 7:57club? You've seen someone dance to
- 7:58Firewoman. It was my.
- 8:00Birthday this week. Look at these.
- 8:03Look at how adorable I was as a little kid.
- 8:06What happened to the innocent youth of a child?
- 8:11He became this bearded metal guy.
- 8:14But I'm still I'm pretty good. Stillborn 1 is here.
- 8:17What's up, Stillborn 1? Look at that.
- 8:24Look at that cute guy with the superhero tights again.
- 8:27I said. Yesterday, if you caught it, I
- 8:29did a. Little live stream.
- 8:30We'll talk about it in a second. I I'm, I'm trying to be as
- 8:33energetic as I can. I feel a little suppressed.
- 8:36Thank you Dillinger. I appreciate you so much man.
- 8:38People came out far and wide to celebrate me and local hoodlum
- 8:44is passing by. I, you know, it took a long time
- 8:48and I'll talk about it in a second for me to just enjoy my
- 8:51birthday for the sake of my birthday.
- 8:52It was. It was difficult, but I joked on
- 8:55the live stream yesterday about that swing.
- 8:57Man, so many kids were choked and strangled to death in that
- 9:00mechanical swing. Used to swing automatically.
- 9:03Like parents in the 60s and 70s didn't want to push their kids
- 9:07in a little swing in their house.
- 9:08But I remember just being, look at how happy I am there.
- 9:11I probably never smiled that much of my whole life, but I
- 9:15thank. You, Curtis, I am adorable.
- 9:17You were adorable kid too. And again, I've learned how to
- 9:21separate this stuff out. My birthday is September 17th.
- 9:27Tomorrow, later tonight marks the anniversary of my mom's
- 9:30passing, which has always been very hard.
- 9:32For me and I spent most in therapy today.
- 9:35I know most people talk about their moms in therapy, but I
- 9:38know normally have nothing but nice things to say.
- 9:40But my mom was exceptional. But yeah, it's it still hurts.
- 9:44But I've learned how to enjoy my birthday and then grieve my my
- 9:48parents and grieve my mother. So it's OK moving.
- 9:52Along also a really tough one this week, man, we lost a great
- 9:561. Thomas Lindberg, Tompa of At the
- 9:58Gates and Disphere and Lock Up and Grotesque and a bunch of
- 10:02other incredible melodic death metal bands and grind core
- 10:05bands. I knew him personally.
- 10:07I met him and hung out with him at Roadburn.
- 10:10He was very fond of Ghost Cult. He was very fond of my partner
- 10:12Omar Gordy. Used to just list him for shows.
- 10:16If you want to come out, come out.
- 10:18I'm hung out with him in Europe, as I said, at Roadburn, and he
- 10:22was sick with cancer the last few years.
- 10:23We didn't quite know how bad. I was hearing rumblings that he
- 10:26wasn't recovering and he we got the news about a month ago that
- 10:30he felt like maybe he was going to be incapacitated soon by this
- 10:35illness. So he pushed himself to finish
- 10:39the final At the Gates album with Tomas recently.
- 10:43So before he was incapacitated too much vocally.
- 10:47So that's really cool. And this photo is by Omar Cordy.
- 10:49The last time he photographed Thomas, I interviewed Thomas for
- 10:53the nightmare. Being their their their last
- 10:56album so far with him. Thank you, Curtis.
- 10:58I appreciate you. My mom was the best and she was
- 11:00quite fond of you. She loved you very much.
- 11:04But yeah, just a just brutal. It's been a brutal.
- 11:06Summer for for metal people, Ozzy Hines and now Thomas and
- 11:12other people have passed away and we'll talk about that too.
- 11:14But what a hard one, man, What a hard one.
- 11:19Also, Robert Redford, just an iconic actor and director and
- 11:23Hollywood personality. This picture is from Captain
- 11:27America, The Winter Soldier. Where Robert Redford at like 80
- 11:31something played Alexander Pierce, the head of shield on
- 11:36top of or you know, the the boss of Nick Fury.
- 11:42And I love the Sam Jack remembrance on social media
- 11:46about Robert. He's a very few times in my in
- 11:49his experience, does people live up to caustic?
- 11:55What's up? Good to see you.
- 11:58Very few times do people live up to the legend.
- 12:00And he felt like Robert was a professional and he was really
- 12:04approachable and humble. And nice and respectful.
- 12:07And like about the best costar you could ever ask for.
- 12:10So super cool for Sam Jack to shout out Redford.
- 12:13I mean, so many iconic roles, so many amazing films as a
- 12:17director. So, you know, very sad to lose.
- 12:22We're losing. A lot of our.
- 12:23Greats. But that was a This is a tough
- 12:25one too. Bobby Hart.
- 12:27Maybe you didn't know who he was.
- 12:28He was the musical architect of the Monkeys.
- 12:31He wrote most of their big hits like Believer and he passed away
- 12:36was announced this week. I think he passed away in the
- 12:38last few weeks. 3 of Hell is here.
- 12:42Local hoodlum Tiffany Aguiar appreciate you all for tuning
- 12:46in. And also Carol Weiland, Scott
- 12:51Weiland's mom, finally succumbed to cancer that she has been
- 12:54fighting for a long time. You can't imagine anything worse
- 12:58than a parent burying a child. And so she had to survive the
- 13:02death of both of her sons, which is very sad, Michael and Scott
- 13:07and, you know, just rest in peace to her.
- 13:11But she was a big believer in. Him celebrating on some other
- 13:16positive things. Celebrating birthdays this week.
- 13:18Dave must stay in a mega. This is like the most Dave
- 13:22Mustaine if you're watching this on YouTube.
- 13:24Or Twitch or whatever. This is like one of the most
- 13:26Dave Mustaine photos Dave mustained ever.
- 13:28Dave Mustaine, like, did that snarl and the riffing in the
- 13:31hands and the, you know, whatever you want to say about
- 13:35Dave, he's a complicated guy, but he's incredibly talented.
- 13:40Also celebrating a birthday week this week.
- 13:42Joe Perry of Aerosmith here, pictured in the 70s, is 79.
- 13:47I think we're 77. Tommy Show of Stick celebrated a
- 13:50birthday this week. Questlove was remembering Amy
- 13:55Winehouse and a chance encounter meeting her back in the day
- 14:00before she was famous. And this is a photo he shared of
- 14:03them. I do not own this photo but Amy
- 14:05Winehouse, who died at 27, would have been 42 on Monday.
- 14:12Just wild to think that she is now.
- 14:14Gone a very long time. Of course, the professor Neil
- 14:18Pert of Rush would have celebrated a birthday this week.
- 14:21We you know. His anniversary of his passing
- 14:23is January. Huge Rush fan.
- 14:26I was telling Curtis earlier, my first big arena of rock concert
- 14:29was rushed in Kansas in 1985. At the Madison Square Garden in
- 14:34New York City. Celebrating a birthday this week
- 14:38also is Bill Stevenson. You know him best from
- 14:40Descendants. He's also the drummer and
- 14:42founder of. All he's also produced every pop
- 14:46punk and post hardcore band. As a producer, he is one of the
- 14:51best. Producers in the world.
- 14:53I'd love to try chat with him sometime.
- 14:54There's a great Descendants and all documentary that's free on
- 14:59to be if you're interested. Killer Band Also celebrating a
- 15:02birthday this week is Larry Lalonde of.
- 15:05Primus same day as me. Power windows tour.
- 15:09That's right bro, I saw Power windows, Presto and Roll the
- 15:13bones all in a row. Three years in a row, 3-4 years
- 15:16in a row, three out of four years.
- 15:17Incredible. Really shaped me.
- 15:21This is a recent picture of we covered Primus here at the
- 15:25hometown show they did in Sacramento.
- 15:27That's my homeboy Pegs. Great Photo by Pegs also
- 15:33celebrating a birthday. Tim Ripper Owens same day as me
- 15:37actually. September 17th guys.
- 15:38Incredible. Here's here he is with K KS
- 15:41Priest. Tim is incredible.
- 15:43He has been a very good friend to Ghost cult.
- 15:45We interviewed him a few times. Great guy, also celebrating a
- 15:50birthday this week. This is like they're looking at
- 15:52this picture of Jane's Addiction for their like, aborted tour
- 15:56that happened last year. This is like looking at your
- 15:59picture of your family after a divorce when your parents aren't
- 16:02together anymore. But Steven Perkins on the left
- 16:05hand side of the photo, the drummer of Jane's Addiction,
- 16:07also drummed on 9 Inch Nails. Albums and a bunch of other
- 16:10things. Adrian Blue.
- 16:12He had a birthday this week. Also celebrating the birthday.
- 16:17The same day as me. Lita Ford, Lita Ford Kiss me
- 16:21Once Got some Aussie news coming up later too.
- 16:24Speaking of Lita Doyle, Wolfgang von Frankenstein of Misfits and
- 16:27Doyle celebrated a birthday this week.
- 16:30This is a great Photo by Kim Hanson.
- 16:32Photography of ghost Colts. Also on the far left here, Skid
- 16:37Row with their former singer Eric Grunwald.
- 16:41Snake Sabo celebrated a birthday this week.
- 16:45Ty Tabor of Kings X celebrates a birthday this week.
- 16:48I think he's 60 something 62 listening to the crime cast.
- 16:53Oh man, just mind blowing. So sad, so fucking sad.
- 16:59Dillinger Compound. But yeah, Ty Tabor, another
- 17:03fucking just a fucking beast of a writer and a producer.
- 17:06Incredible. And I love Kings X Keith Morris
- 17:09of Circle Jerks is 64. I got a picture here with Xander
- 17:15the bassist and sometime guitarist.
- 17:19Yeah, Ty, bro, he's. Incredible.
- 17:22Morris, I would love to interview Keith Morris.
- 17:24He's on the bucket list. Also also Bower power Jimmy
- 17:29Bower on the left and I hate God on guitar and on the right and
- 17:33down. Do not smoke weed with Jimmy
- 17:36Bower. Let me give you that advice.
- 17:38Here's some advice I can give you with my 53 years of life
- 17:41guys. Wonderful, a sweetheart, a
- 17:44family man, an incredible musician and great guy.
- 17:48Don't smoke his weed. You will be sorry.
- 17:51You will be so. Sorry, I love Greg Aletto of
- 17:56Trivium who we recently. Cover and had a birthday this
- 17:58week. And me, the boss, this guy with
- 18:01two thumbs. This picture is maybe my
- 18:04favorite picture of me, taken by Omar Cordy at Saint Vitus Bar,
- 18:08which is no longer in existence. But I do love this photo.
- 18:11My my vest is like, not new, but a little more barren.
- 18:15Than it is. Now in this picture, which is
- 18:17always amusing to me. The hours is here.
- 18:21What's up? What's up?
- 18:22Thanks for being here. Let's see.
- 18:27This is a great picture. A lot of people pay tribute to
- 18:30me, called me, texted me social media, me everything.
- 18:35You know, Ghost Co picture posted a post about me and my
- 18:39dear friend Francis Francis Solis.
- 18:43Dude, the same bite as being gone sucks so bad.
- 18:45I'm glad when I went to my last trip to New York two years ago,
- 18:48I went went. I'm so relieved and glad that I
- 18:51went. But look at this photo Francis
- 18:53found to me now, I think. This is I.
- 18:56Think this is Don Hills or maybe a club in New Jersey, but look
- 19:01at me in probably 1998 or 1999 with my Jesse Armstead Giants
- 19:07jersey and my do rag and my base and my Army pants and my high
- 19:11tops. Such a thrash kid.
- 19:14Such a thrash kid in my late 20s.
- 19:17But this is a great photo. I don't think I have seen this
- 19:19in a long time. Keith Wood, Jeff EV.
- 19:22Jeff Wood. Nice.
- 19:23I'm not mad at it. Not mad at all.
- 19:30But yeah, look at my hair. My hair was glorious.
- 19:35Yeah. Franny's the best.
- 19:35She shared that picture of also of you, me and her Metallica
- 19:39Curtis in that same like collage was really sweet to her.
- 19:43OK. We moved through all the.
- 19:45Birthdays in the passings in the memorials.
- 19:47Let's talk about some metal history.
- 19:48Metal and rock history released this week in Rock and Metal
- 19:52history on my birthday in 1991. Use your illusion one and two.
- 19:57I don't know why they're backwards, but.
- 19:59I don't know, I rushed to do this.
- 20:01Use your illusion one and two. What's your thoughts on these
- 20:04records? Most people like one or the
- 20:06other and not both. Probably would have been 1 great
- 20:09album alone. I like Boat, I love a lot of
- 20:12songs on both of them. There are definitely some
- 20:13clunkers but I do love these records.
- 20:16Also released on September 17th, 1991 on the same day as usual.
- 20:20Illusion One and Two. Ozzy Osbourne.
- 20:21No more Tears Got some No More Tears news coming up in just a
- 20:24few minutes. Other albums celebrating
- 20:28anniversaries this week. Metallica's Death Magnetic
- 20:32Definitely a comeback record for them after Shane.
- 20:34Anger Megabits. End Game Solid.
- 20:36Painkiller. By Judas Priest, maybe their
- 20:41last great record. They certainly have some very
- 20:43good ones since Rob has left and come back to the band.
- 20:46But Painkiller was like the last of their great first era.
- 20:49Anthrax Worship Music came out on September 12th. 2011 was also
- 20:55the anniversary of the Big Four at Yankee Stadium.
- 20:58Curtis that you and I went to Black Sabbath's Paranoid came
- 21:02out 50 something years, almost 60 years ago, 50 something years
- 21:07ago today. Even Empire of the Blind, I love
- 21:11this was their comeback record. I love Heathen.
- 21:14I've interviewed Dave White many times on the channel.
- 21:16As you know, Bay Area Hard Rock and thrash.
- 21:19Corner, No More Color, very underrated, great band.
- 21:23Corners, incredible. Judith Priest, another one
- 21:26unleashed in the East, one of the best live albums ever.
- 21:29Look at Rob, he's just gorgeous. Disturbed believe this is their
- 21:34second record and actually is really solid, surprisingly solid
- 21:40and the last time I really enjoyed a full record from them.
- 21:42But that's just me. It's it's a very solid record.
- 21:45Shadows Folly are to balance incredible great new wave of
- 21:49American metal in the early 2000s.
- 21:53Two Carcass releases this week in History, of course, The
- 21:57Surgical Steel, the Incredible Album of the Year for 2014 for
- 22:01Ghost Cult, and then this sort of Odds and Ends extra.
- 22:03Record that was torn apart or whatever it's called with like.
- 22:07Fruit. Fashioned into arteries.
- 22:10Kind of funny. Funny bruharia.
- 22:14With this incredible record. Pocho Anaclan Very good record.
- 22:20Rest in P in power to PJ Peach and Juan Brujo.
- 22:24I miss those guys. All the remains overcome.
- 22:27Not that great a record to be honest with you.
- 22:29Wolf Art. This is a tremendous album here
- 22:32in the Great North. Cannibal Corpse, A skeleton, a
- 22:36skeletal domain. Kind of underrated.
- 22:38Very solid from about 10-11 years ago.
- 22:41Black Dahlia Murder Deflorate. Great record.
- 22:45Marilyn Manson, Mechanical Animals, maybe the second best
- 22:48album he's ever had or third best album.
- 22:51Fight war of words speaking. Rob Halford, his sort of Pantera
- 22:54ish band. Side band made in Japan by Iron
- 22:58Maiden. The great live album Megan at
- 23:01the System has failed. Also had an album anniversary.
- 23:04I think Mustang likes to put out records like around the time of
- 23:07his birthday. Set Alive is here, Alex is here,
- 23:11Bad Habits is here, Rufina is here, Deathly ours.
- 23:14Once again, good stuff, thanks everybody.
- 23:17Convulse this is a fucking crushing fucking album.
- 23:21Flotsam and Jetson very solid stuff last year with.
- 23:24Them. Blizzard of odds, of course,
- 23:26with Ozzie. A lot of Ozzie news going on.
- 23:28Aerosmith. Pump I remember.
- 23:29Being so excited for this record.
- 23:32This record is excellent top to bottom.
- 23:35Maybe a little over produced looking back on it but excellent
- 23:38record, Great songs, great our stuff.
- 23:42Absolutely killer. Black Sabbath, born again, my
- 23:46favorite non Aussie ordeal record.
- 23:49I love Tony Martin. Also.
- 23:50Mastodon. Blood Mountain, the classic
- 23:52amazing dream. Theater, a dramatic turn of
- 23:56events. It's OK, it's not my favorite
- 23:59Dream Theater record. They have some better ones than
- 24:00this and Black Label Society shot to hell.
- 24:04Very solid, spectacular to me. Miss Dahlia is here.
- 24:09Hello. Oh man, I love born again.
- 24:12I'm hoping that's the next thing I owe me is working on is a born
- 24:15again remaster and boxing me. And Dylan is?
- 24:19Still out there singing with Deep Purple man, like he surely
- 24:22could do the born again stuff if he can do a Deep purple show.
- 24:26Let's let's go, Tony, let's go. I don't think he's like Tony's
- 24:30necessarily looking to redo black ZAP with their play live
- 24:32much ever again, but like, all good.
- 24:36Hey, just a reminder, just a reminder, we are not corporate.
- 24:42So, you know, I do these things and I don't often solicit money,
- 24:48but I do ask for tips. So if you're feeling tipsy, feel
- 24:53free to be generous and donate some money to us.
- 24:56I did get some birthday money in which I bought some new records
- 25:00and I checked, I checked those a little bit on the live stream
- 25:05yesterday. Yeah, Curtis.
- 25:08And I know I'm pretty sure that I heard Born Again for the first
- 25:11time ever with you, Curtis. I definitely think I think I
- 25:16learned about that album. Because of you.
- 25:18Partially and we love Ian, we love Deep Purple and we love Ian
- 25:21Gillenman. Thank you, Curtis, I appreciate
- 25:23you. But yeah, if you're if you're
- 25:25feeling tipsy, here's the tip menu and I will also drop it.
- 25:28In the, drop it. In the, drop it here as well.
- 25:36Drop it like it's. Hot.
- 25:37Drop it like it's hot. But yeah, you know, we, we, you
- 25:43know, I'm, I'm really proud of us.
- 25:45We are almost at 13 years. We're about 3 weeks away from
- 25:47our 13th year in existence. And you know, I'm very proud of
- 25:53everything we've done. We've been doing some killer
- 25:55collabs, including this golden voice thing.
- 25:58This is probably one of the. Coolest things we've ever been a
- 26:01part of this giveaway. And you know, I'm just really
- 26:05humbled they reached out to us. I'm not out here necessarily,
- 26:10you know, begging companies to partner with us.
- 26:13We do solicit some partnerships and some advertising.
- 26:17Just Yee Yee says you just saw. Thank you for watching EE just
- 26:22saw Lamb of God, Marilyn Manson and Lorna Shore.
- 26:24Oh, were you at louder than life?
- 26:27Are you at Louder Than Life? Today.
- 26:28Is that or is that was that us a headline tour?
- 26:32I know Slayer played tonight at Louder Than Life, so that's
- 26:36really fucking exciting. And I like the new Manson album.
- 26:42I know, very controversial, but I rather enjoyed the Manson
- 26:45album and apparently that's one of two.
- 26:50So there's a Part 2 coming. Thanks to everybody that's
- 26:52tuning in. We've got some more people
- 26:54watching now on Twitch and YouTube.
- 26:58And there's our QR code. No notice.
- 27:05No one in Maiden has offered condolences.
- 27:06To the Osbournes, Yeah, of course.
- 27:08You want to know. What's interesting is that Bruce
- 27:09Dickinson actually produced the No More Tears reissue 20 years
- 27:13ago. You know, that's about Sharon.
- 27:16I'm sure they're down the road. There's a respect.
- 27:19Listen, Maiden has called out Metallica and Ozzy and
- 27:23everybody. You know, they made it be a them
- 27:26versus US kind of thing their whole career.
- 27:29So I'm not mad at it. I understand why the the beef
- 27:33with. Sharon is real.
- 27:40Curtis was asking me about the Roger Waters thing and like I
- 27:44said, Ozzy passed away and everybody asked everybody.
- 27:47I did a couple of band interviews this week and I asked
- 27:50like, hey. Did you know, Tomas?
- 27:52Did you know at the gates? So I did that.
- 27:54That's something, it's a common music journalism thing, right?
- 27:58Calendar And you know, Roger Waters was asked how he felt
- 28:05about Ozzy and he was like, I never liked Black Sabbath and
- 28:08Ozzy was a dumb twat or whatever he said.
- 28:11And you know, Jack assassinated Rodger in the press about it and
- 28:15rightly so. Everybody was saying kind and
- 28:17nice things, and you know, Rodger decided to be the one
- 28:21Jackass. To say something mean and shitty
- 28:23about Ozzy, you know, You know, my mom used to say we can't say
- 28:26something nice. Don't say anything.
- 28:29So yeah, I'm I'm a little madly surprised that Native didn't
- 28:33say. Anything but Anyway, that's all
- 28:36the preamble and now on to the rest of the show and it's time
- 28:39to talk about the features. So features.
- 28:41This week we dropped a brand new single by this incredible
- 28:45psychedelic Stoner doom band called Mother Chrome and their
- 28:49new single Embrace the Death that you can now stream
- 28:53everywhere and their album is coming out in 2026 and it's
- 29:01really fantastic. This band has been around for
- 29:03quite a while but they haven't been very prolific in terms of a
- 29:06lot of albums but super cool. And interestingly enough we did
- 29:11the premiere with the publicity term Viral Propaganda PR.
- 29:15The owner of Viral Propaganda PR was the original co-owner of
- 29:19Ghost Cult before I came in with the original other co-owner
- 29:23Raymond Westland of the Netherlands.
- 29:25So David and Raymond were friends in the Europe and they
- 29:27came together to form Ghost Cult and then I came in and I ended
- 29:31up taking it over from David and and Raymond which.
- 29:33Is super interesting. Very interesting story.
- 29:36There's some podcasts where I've talked about the whole history
- 29:38of those called. Rodger has not responded at all.
- 29:40Yeah, he's not bothered. He doesn't care.
- 29:43He does not care. He doesn't care about anything.
- 29:45He's Roger re recording your classic albums and hopes that
- 29:49your own fans will only support. You and buy.
- 29:52Your album when that album in question and your albums you
- 29:56made with Pink Floyd are the greatest albums of all time
- 29:58arguably. You are a fucking cunt and I'm
- 30:01really fucking am disappointed by him because Pink Floyd.
- 30:04Is my favorite bandit. Interviews This week I talked to
- 30:09Tyler Sturgeon. He is the vocalist and guitarist
- 30:11of the progressive brutal death metal bands Off.
- 30:14They have kicked off their tour supporting their EP from last
- 30:19year, the EXO Galactic Tour. I had a.
- 30:22Killer conversation with him, super nice guy, fun band.
- 30:27Definitely go see them if they're coming your way.
- 30:30I also chatted with Street Sex, who have a side band called St.
- 30:40Sex, trying to say that five times fast St.
- 30:43Sex St. sex St. Sex.
- 30:46But they have two bands and two brand new albums out.
- 30:48They signed to health new album label Compulsion Records.
- 30:53So they have kind of like an industrial hard abrasive,
- 30:56industrial metal record and then they.
- 30:58Have kind of like a synth pop record, a synth wave synth pop
- 31:01record. Really fun, really smart.
- 31:03Guys, we talked about 9 Inch nails.
- 31:05We talked about. Really great stuff and check
- 31:07that interview out also on our podcast, Just a reminder,
- 31:11Synasium. Sorry, since Sinem I can never
- 31:14say this name right? Since Sinem, I talked to
- 31:16Frederick Leclerc. He used to be in Dragonforce.
- 31:20And Sinem, God damn it. It was the former band of Joey
- 31:23Jordison of Slipknot and Murder Dolls.
- 31:27They have a brand new album out. It's probably one of the best
- 31:29death metal albums out this year.
- 31:31What a killer. Record, that is.
- 31:33Also also coming tomorrow on our podcast, I have a new interview
- 31:38with Dallas Tyler Wade. You remember that he used to be
- 31:41at Nile. He now has the band Narcotic
- 31:43Wasteland, surprisingly about not narcotics, about his
- 31:46sobriety and death metal. And he is on tour right now,
- 31:50which we'll talk about again in a minute, where he's playing all
- 31:54of Annihilation of the Wicked by Nile, which he's never done,
- 31:57music from his other band, his former band.
- 31:59So really cool. And we had a great interview
- 32:02about this. So there's a podcast version
- 32:04that's going to go up tomorrow. And then hopefully down the road
- 32:08in a month or so, there'll be the video version.
- 32:10But go see Narcotic Wasteland right now.
- 32:12If you love technical death metal and Niall especially, and
- 32:16we're not touring right now, go see Narcotic Wasteland.
- 32:19And I love Niall also the street sex and the Black Queen.
- 32:22Dude, dude, dude, I need the Black Queen so bad.
- 32:27So bad. I need a new Black Queen record.
- 32:29Let's go Greg, I know better lovers is about to go on tour.
- 32:32We're going to talk about it and make it and their new record is
- 32:35coming. But like, please, please, please
- 32:36also also Don de Lamont of Ghost Cult and talking to Talk with
- 32:41Don. And Southeast of Heaven
- 32:42interviewed Marissa Nadler, who I also love her new album, New
- 32:45Radiations, and you can check that out on our podcast.
- 32:49And because I don't have enough going on, I didn't do any extra
- 32:52live streams this week beside my birthday 1 and I didn't do any
- 32:55last week. But I did.
- 32:56Sunday I did review so I came right from the movies and I saw
- 32:59Spinal Tattoo and I really enjoyed it.
- 33:02I know people are kind of shitting on it.
- 33:04There's no way you can top the original, you know, you can't
- 33:07top the original. But I do love, I did really
- 33:10enjoy and love Spinal Tattoo and I'm really proud of them for
- 33:14making it and put the fan on here a little sweaty also also
- 33:21because I don't have enough to do on the coast of the glacially
- 33:23musical podcast Spear Medal and swearing vinyl sometimes NHL
- 33:28Mirth, laughter, joy. We are finishing our series on
- 33:32Ozzy Osbourne and this week we did No More Tears.
- 33:35There it is again. We talked all about No More
- 33:37Tears and the production of that album and the making.
- 33:39Of that album. Bob daisley in Bob Daisley out
- 33:42Bob daisley in Bob daisley out Bob daisley only making lyrics
- 33:45Bob Daisley just playing bass Bob daisley lyrics and bass Bob
- 33:48Daisley not so much so. And then my kinda is coming in.
- 33:51So like wild. Great record and a great
- 33:54conversation. That is all Part 1 of the show.
- 33:59And now for the news rundown. And as you know, I'll take this.
- 34:02I think I'm going to hydrate a little bit with this Gatorade 0.
- 34:05Thank you honey for sending me some groceries and medicine.
- 34:12Hydrate. Bitch, you got to hydrate
- 34:16yourself, no one's going to do it for you unless that's a kink
- 34:20you have. I don't want to yuck anybody
- 34:23else's Yum or kink shame anyone but AS.
- 34:25Usual when we do the news rundown, we.
- 34:28Talk about metal festivals. It is metal festivals the.
- 34:32Season is wrapping up here in North America.
- 34:35It's basically over in Europe, Riot.
- 34:38Fest is this. Weekend we were going to be
- 34:41covering riot fest for like the seventh year in a row, but we
- 34:44are not going to be covering it because of illness in the team,
- 34:49their families and themselves. But that's I know that being
- 34:53said, we are super stoked. Blink 182 Weezer Green Day Jack
- 34:57White Sex Pistols with Frank butter are also not in there.
- 35:02Chris Penny is. Also a live member of the Black
- 35:04Queen. That is correct.
- 35:05He was with them when I saw them.
- 35:08We are now Alkaline Trio, Beach Boys with John Stamos, Dropkick
- 35:14Murphys, front bottoms, old steady, Rico, nasty but also Bad
- 35:20Religion, jawbreaker, so many killer bands.
- 35:24This looks like a lot of fun. I'm sad that I'm I haven't been
- 35:26back. I went the one time it was
- 35:27amazing. I had never been treated so well
- 35:30and respectfully as a journalist ever in my life as I was when I
- 35:34went to Riot Fest. So thank you, Riot Fest.
- 35:37Also this weekend, Shaky Knees Fest, we are covering Shaky
- 35:41Knees Fest, which I am excited about.
- 35:43We got a pinch hitter at the last minute to step in and cover
- 35:45that one. Steph Tollens, Lenny Kravitz,
- 35:48Sublime. Mike Ham, Hazy Elephant Black
- 35:51fees, Public Enemy, all American rejects, mannequin pussy beaches
- 35:55who are incredible new album by them blink 182 Vampire Weekend
- 35:59Alabama Shakes Lucy Daka's devo wet leg for non blonde.
- 36:03So I don't like transferring on Bill Murray more so very cool
- 36:08shit. D spitz is on there that's cool.
- 36:11The life is also this weekend. The Slayer played tonight with
- 36:14Rob Zombie and more and the rest of this weekend.
- 36:19Dillinger Skate Plan plays Sunday.
- 36:20Dillinger Compound, Avenged Sevenfold, Deftones, Bring Me
- 36:24the Horizon, Suicide Boys, Bad Omen, Sleep Token, All Time Low.
- 36:29Trivium Looks rad. Beach Boys with John Stamos.
- 36:36Yeah, John Stamos has filled up and played on drums with them.
- 36:40You know, they've been touring for a long time.
- 36:43They had been touring with Brian.
- 36:44Brian had stepped away from the road.
- 36:46He wasn't doing too well. He was sort of doing solo shows
- 36:50and also doing Beach Boys stuff on occasion.
- 36:53They had patched things up after The Beach Boys documentary,
- 36:56which I highly recommend. It was brutal, but you should
- 36:59definitely see it. And yeah, man, Stamos, there's a
- 37:04fun, I didn't really go into detail about this, but like, so
- 37:07John Stamos has had like a rivalry rivalry with Riot Fest
- 37:12where they give out stickers of him and goof on him.
- 37:15And then he like would say like I am not attending Riot Fest.
- 37:18And then they started having like look alike contest, like
- 37:21show up with the John Stamos hair, like Uncle Jesse cut it
- 37:26out. That's the other one.
- 37:27But they Jesse and the rippers, right, And they one of the best
- 37:33television bands ever. But Stamos is actually very
- 37:36talented. There was a drumyo of him
- 37:37recently listening to metal and playing a drum metal, a metal,
- 37:40some of the drums. He they have a butter statue
- 37:43like at state fairs where they have like a butter shaped cow or
- 37:47something or pig. They have a butter statue of
- 37:49John Stamos. Yeah, yeah, Public Enemy, bro.
- 37:53Yeah. Public Enemy and their new
- 37:55records fire in surprise, drop the new record.
- 37:57I haven't really got to spend. A lot of time with it.
- 37:59Also this weekend a little bit condensed to one day but still
- 38:03pretty rad. New England metal and hardcore
- 38:05festival. Some of the my best memories
- 38:08ever were. Living in Boston and going out
- 38:10to the Worcester Palladium to cover this.
- 38:13It was wicked Pissa, as they say.
- 38:16And Lorna Stewart headlining New England metal and hardcore fest
- 38:19Wow wow Wow over Cannibal Corpse over Kubla Khan over Black
- 38:23Dahlia murder over Bury Your Dead, who are probably their
- 38:26final, final, final show ever. But we've all we've heard that a
- 38:29lot before. And then Train, who has a new
- 38:33song out this week, Municipal Ways.
- 38:35Mad Ball set it off, son. I think Full of Hell is not on
- 38:39this anymore because of the issues in the family there.
- 38:43But yeah, not quite a festival, but I lumped it in with the
- 38:46festivals this this week, this Saturday in in Pennsylvania,
- 38:52Hershey Park, Pennsylvania Slayer not loose suicidal
- 38:55tendencies power trip the Cavaliers doing chaos AD in its
- 39:00entirety exodus doing all of bonded by blood and more.
- 39:04And this feels like a festival and feels like slave Slayer
- 39:07would have called this the if Slayer would have called this
- 39:11the like bonafire festival, people would have been like fuck
- 39:14yes, But you know, you don't want to say fire festival
- 39:16anything because it just kind of looks bad.
- 39:19Also also I just want to remind everybody again that the news
- 39:24was broken last week by me. Ghost called that system of a
- 39:28noun, had been teasing thick new world to return in 2026.
- 39:33And of course all the other metal sites saw my post and
- 39:37copied my shit word for word and then shared my thing and did not
- 39:40credit me. Yes, I'm salty because I always
- 39:42give respect and credit to where I saw something first.
- 39:45This is not something that somebody reported and I copied
- 39:48it. I found this out and shared the
- 39:51news. So pretty annoying.
- 39:53But anyway, when Signal World comes back next year, remember
- 39:56you heard it. It goes cold first and we will
- 39:59go hopefully to cover it. And here's some more graphics
- 40:02and visuals that I found on Reddit.
- 40:05CBG BS festival is next weekend. See if they can revive the
- 40:08brand. I'm still waiting for a CB GB
- 40:10official museum. Has not happened yet.
- 40:13Iggy Pop and Jack White headlining sets.
- 40:15Crystals now off Angel dust, Crow mags, the dam, destroy
- 40:19boys, Gorilla biscuits. My favorite hardcore band ever.
- 40:22Belinda Linda's the. Luna Chick so I remember seeing
- 40:25White Zombie noise rock White Zombie open up for the lunatics
- 40:30and they were horrible and I couldn't wait for them to get
- 40:32off. I was like get the fuck off the
- 40:34stage. These dirty hippies look
- 40:35terrible, and they were you know they became the metal White
- 40:38Zombie later Lambrini girls, Marky Ramone scowl, teen
- 40:42warriors, Murphy's law, Melvin Soul Glow and.
- 40:45A bunch of other bands, yeah. Mad Ball still good.
- 40:49Phil has. Kicked ass and did kick ass.
- 40:53Levitation Festival is next weekend.
- 40:56We were invited to go cover it, but it's not like I can just
- 40:59drop everything and go to Austin.
- 41:00But it looks rad. It looks rad.
- 41:05After stock is in a few weeks, we'll see.
- 41:08I might go. Also Punk in the Park is that
- 41:10weekend. I think I've been talking about
- 41:11that a lot lately. Blink 182, Good Charlotte,
- 41:14Deftones, perfect circle, corn, bad omens, bring me the horizon,
- 41:18Rob Zombie. Interesting note that A Perfect
- 41:21Circle is the Co headliner with Deftones on that Saturday.
- 41:24Pretty rad. Also Turnstile Dillinger escape
- 41:27plan and Religion Bruce Dickinson Three Days Grace All
- 41:33American rejects Acid bath Dillinger escape plan Hate Breed
- 41:41SOD with Jamie Josta. Pretty red Pretty fucking red.
- 41:46Forbidden death Angels playing that day.
- 41:49Fortress Festival has announced their full lineup, Old man's
- 41:53Child, which just made their return this year.
- 41:56That's Silanos, formerly of the MU Borgier Heinz Gord Akak.
- 42:04I mean, this is fucking sick. This Fortress Festival.
- 42:06This is all they always do a good job.
- 42:09Finally AT shirt that fits my personality.
- 42:11Rage Against the machine learning.
- 42:13I need this shirt. I need to find this shirt or
- 42:16make it for myself. I'm going to work on that.
- 42:21Like the short wear cool T-shirts and make your own all
- 42:24right concerts. I was on the festivals.
- 42:26Now for the big rundown of concert tours and.
- 42:29Again, the cult. Kicking off their tour with
- 42:32Death Cult very soon. Super stoked for this.
- 42:36These shows are very rare. I don't know that they will do
- 42:38these ever again. They have been doing once in
- 42:41awhile shows with Death Cult and the Cult and I think it's very
- 42:46unique and special. That they're doing this Super
- 42:49cool. Super cool.
- 42:51Also, also last week we told you the news, there's still no photo
- 42:55or graphics or dates, but Twisted Sisters reuniting.
- 42:58And the one thing that I wasn't 100% sure about this last week,
- 43:02Marco Mendoza was not invited back due to irreconcilable
- 43:06differences. Now if you can get if you can
- 43:10get 3/4 or 3/5 of a original band to come out and be
- 43:18together. Obviously one member of Twisted
- 43:19Sisters past but to get Marco left out feels bad but Oh well.
- 43:27Twisted Sister very hype about this Dillinger Escape Plan final
- 43:31show ever first week of October. Has this been announced or is
- 43:34this just some secret knowledge you have?
- 43:35I think I would have heard about this already.
- 43:37Did they say that that they're not doing any more or Yikes.
- 43:46Do tell Dillinger You always drop little Nuggets in the show
- 43:49and then you just make me very curious.
- 43:50I probably should start texting you.
- 43:53I feel like. You have a hotline to knowledge.
- 43:56That I do not have. Wardrobe is on tour towards more
- 43:58than half over. Incredible.
- 44:01Please go see Wardrobe and Chelsea Wolf.
- 44:03An incredible show. Also Also, Parkway Drive is
- 44:07kicking off their new headline tour, their 20th anniversary
- 44:11tour of the UK and Europe this weekend with Thy Artist, Murder
- 44:15and The Abidy Affliction. I am hopeful we're going to go.
- 44:19Cover that in England, 9 Inch Nails peeled back towards going
- 44:23for a few more weeks, then Trent says he's probably going to take
- 44:27a break from touring for a minute and maybe come back next
- 44:31year with some more festivals and dates.
- 44:33Feature Ruins Festival is coming up in early November.
- 44:37You have a very good unofficial. Knowledge.
- 44:39I think you have a very good knowledge my friend.
- 44:43Narcotic Wasteland. Here's the tour dates again.
- 44:45So this week Tipsy Tiki in Fort Pierce, FL, tomorrow at the
- 44:54Brass Mug in Tampa, and then about another 123456789101112
- 45:02dates. So you have a lot of chances.
- 45:04Blood Metal Serial is back. Justin Kayvon is here.
- 45:08Thanks for being here fam. Appreciate everybody for tuning
- 45:10in and watching. Means a lot.
- 45:13Narcotic Wasteland Spirit Box is taking off their tour with
- 45:17Periphery and Honey Revenge. This is the.
- 45:19Tsunami Sea headline for already selling out?
- 45:22I got an e-mail with like a low ticket warnings that these shows
- 45:26are selling out. I am hopeful we can cover either
- 45:29the San Bernardino or San Diego show.
- 45:32I am waiting to apply. I saw Baroness last night for my
- 45:36birthday. I was already starting to not
- 45:38feel great, but I pushed myself to go to the show.
- 45:40It's probably not why I feel worse today.
- 45:43I don't know that I would have felt much better today.
- 45:44Anyway, the show was incredible. Weed Eater came out to the.
- 45:49Thank you for being. A friend, The Golden Girls theme
- 45:51song and then they, you know, they just bludgeoned us for
- 45:54almost a fucking hour at Max volume.
- 45:57Almost an unenjoyable loud, you know what I'm saying?
- 45:59Like so loud you can't think with my earbuds in and in the
- 46:07balcony. So maybe like 100 and 200?
- 46:09Feet away from the stage, it was still loud.
- 46:11Like in my ears. Crazy.
- 46:13And then Baroness, of course. Was much kinder to us and they
- 46:17played all of red and all of blue back-to-back and they were
- 46:21just wonderful. Absolutely spine tingling the
- 46:24whole way. Here is Brace and Alice Cooper
- 46:26with Corrosion Conformity already kicked off their tour.
- 46:29They are playing tonight in Alpharetta, GA and then
- 46:34Charlotte on Saturday. Looks like they're playing every
- 46:36day or two. With a few.
- 46:37Days off in there for the old guys.
- 46:39Definitely worth seeing. Personally if you've never seen
- 46:42Priest or Cooper I would want to see a Not Go headline tour
- 46:45because I have so many great songs.
- 46:48But Coc will be fun as an opener with just like the hits I'm sure
- 46:52that they have time for. They just finished the new
- 46:54record, it's in mixing now, so hopefully we'll get that next
- 46:57year. Bud Vane has already kicked off
- 46:59the LD 5020 Fifth Anniversary tour.
- 47:02I hope to see them in a few weeks.
- 47:04As we mentioned, Greg Tribbett is off the road because of the
- 47:07death of his wife, which is extremely sad.
- 47:10And they got a feeling guitar player.
- 47:12Ancients. I heard awesome shit about this
- 47:14tour. We've been talking about
- 47:15Ancients as one of the more underrated bands, kind of like a
- 47:18Maston on a Baroness Light, Armed for the Apocalypse, and
- 47:22other bands they played here in the Bay Area and in LA last
- 47:28weekend, and I heard Ancients was fired, so I definitely would
- 47:31love to go see them. Dark Angel is on tour supporting
- 47:34Extinction Level event. Stay tuned for my new interview
- 47:38with Gene Hoagland. The 4th or 5th interview with
- 47:40Gene we've done in a couple of years, but he was really great
- 47:43as always. Agnostic Fronts got a whole
- 47:45bunch of touring kicking off in addition to a whole new album
- 47:49coming soon, Robbery, Rob Brigade and Violent Way.
- 47:54You know what, you know digging the two advanced AFI signals.
- 47:58I'm not sure I'm digging the porn stash from AFI that like
- 48:01suddenly you got into a time machine and they got Mastodon's
- 48:03haircuts from 2010. But loving the post punk synth
- 48:09wave AFIA. FIS Killer.
- 48:12They're really, they're really matured into an incredible band.
- 48:21Better lovers. Here you go for new Dillinger
- 48:22Escape Plan fans of Greg, kicking off soon with 68 and
- 48:27Grey Haven to absolutely beast mode bands live.
- 48:31I love Greg Pucchiato or Pucciato, whichever you want to
- 48:34say. I've heard him say it different
- 48:36ways. Greg is awesome, He's great.
- 48:38We need the Black Queen, we need better lovers, we need more
- 48:40things. The Who is wrapping up their
- 48:45farewell tour. Hopefully they don't have to
- 48:47cancel any more dates. They have rescheduled the dates
- 48:49they missed earlier. Zoth.
- 48:52Here's the EXO galactic Actuality tour 2025 kicked off
- 48:56in Fargo On my birthday is in Minneapolis tonight, Wisconsin
- 49:02tomorrow running through the 5th of October in Denver at the High
- 49:07Dive again. Killer band.
- 49:11Counterparts, one of the more accelerating successful bands in
- 49:16metal core and hardcore crossover type of stuff, is
- 49:21coming on tour with Throne and Split Chain and a few other
- 49:24bands. They put out a killer EP.
- 49:26This looks cool. I don't.
- 49:27Think this is an. Entire tour, but all in Witches
- 49:30in King Buffalo have a House of Mirrors tour dates coming up at
- 49:34the 9:30 Club in DC. I'm not sure it's the whole
- 49:37tour, but wow. If that tour came here I would
- 49:40drop everything to go. I love both those bands.
- 49:43All them which is kind of psychedelic Stoner rock and King
- 49:45Buffalo straight up Stoner rock and really cool.
- 49:50Yes, one of the bands from my childhood is doing the entire
- 49:55Fragile album live on tour. They have announced dates for
- 49:592026. They just finished doing some
- 50:01touring. These guys are getting rather
- 50:03old in their age. Steve Howe is 80, Josh Downs is
- 50:07like 77 or 78. And the rest of the band is kind
- 50:11of the different eras of the band.
- 50:14But I'm, I'm hoping against hope.
- 50:19One of my bucket list things is to interview yes, and obviously
- 50:23Chris Squire, my base hero, has passed away a long time.
- 50:25So if I get a chance to talk to anyone in the band I will be
- 50:28stoked. But I would love to talk to
- 50:30Steve or Jeff and talk about the band.
- 50:33So also Asia, a patch on the battle.
- 50:36List. Once again, we're halfway, more
- 50:38than halfway through the show. Again, if you want to bless us
- 50:41with some tips, I'm gratefully appreciative.
- 50:45You know, I could always use T-shirt and vinyl money.
- 50:51Donated. I'm up against it right now.
- 50:54I need to get back into bed. Get stiffly officially.
- 51:03The 19th on the East Coast there all right rolling on also Fable
- 51:08beard company. If you want to look at look at
- 51:10me, look at this beautiful, look at this just incredible beard I
- 51:14have. Look at this.
- 51:15Look at this guy. This is just.
- 51:17Gorgeous, right? If you want to rock like me,
- 51:21have a great beard, you want to get hooked up and smell good and
- 51:24feel good, you want to use the Fable Beard Company, our link in
- 51:26the description, just like our link to go win those cult
- 51:30tickets and def cult tickets. That link in the description
- 51:32where you get $10 off your first purchase from Fable Beard and we
- 51:38get free stuff from them. I use their deodorant, I use
- 51:42their Cologne spray, I use their beard wash, their coal wash and
- 51:46beard oils, beard bombs, lotions, everything, all
- 51:50natural, no chemicals. And I will lie.
- 51:53I will not lie to you because I keep it real.
- 51:55They will punish you with advertising.
- 51:58You will get emails and texts from them help ass, which is a
- 52:04little much. And I'm a marketing, I'm a
- 52:06professional social media and digital marketing strategist.
- 52:10So I will tell you it's a lot. But they give away a box of
- 52:15$500. Worth of stuff every month.
- 52:18All their stuff is dope. They have a money back guarantee
- 52:21return policy I. Really love them and I
- 52:25appreciate my once again shout out to my wonderful, amazing,
- 52:28incredible girlfriend Melissa for turning me on to that stuff
- 52:32and buying me that stuff in the first place.
- 52:36Also also as you know we are part of the growing Lamb Goat
- 52:39Media Network. When you see advertising, it
- 52:41goes called man.com. That is from Lamb Goat.
- 52:43Last year we gave away VIP tickets to Slayer and Ryan Fest
- 52:47and all these things that was with Lamb Goat and you know,
- 52:51we're happy to be partners with them.
- 52:54So lamb Goat, the meter version of ghost Cult, as I'm fond of
- 52:58saying. Also also, if you're watching
- 53:01this unfortunately everywhere but TikTok, you are watching
- 53:04this through the magic of stream yard coming right into your home
- 53:07from my studio bedroom in San Francisco.
- 53:10If you want to stream like we do, sign up with the link in the
- 53:13description. You get $10 off your
- 53:15subscription. We get 10 bucks off our next ad.
- 53:18So it's kind of Dutch door action.
- 53:20One of those. 2 Dicks through the glory hole into your face
- 53:25all right we're on all the social things somebody's
- 53:28watching on twitch Thank you for being here follow us we'll
- 53:30follow you back we're on threads, we're on blue sky we're
- 53:34on discord. I relaunched our newsletter on
- 53:36sub stack. I did write a very special and
- 53:39personal message on Sub Stack about Thomas and my experience
- 53:44meeting him, our staff's closeness to him, proximity.
- 53:50So I am a little a little sad, but this is really fun.
- 53:54Pugsley Adams is just goth Bobby Hill.
- 53:57Change my mind. That boy ain't.
- 53:59Right. But anyway, on to the rest of
- 54:02the news. Thanks for being here.
- 54:03We're almost done with the show, as you know, I mean the story of
- 54:07the week. Dillinger, tell me your thoughts
- 54:09on this Avid Brothers Mike Patton combination.
- 54:11So Mike Patton was teasing this thing with the Avid Brothers
- 54:17logo and a background and I my brain was like, does not
- 54:23compute. I don't.
- 54:24Understand this how is how is this happening?
- 54:27What is happening? Why is this happening?
- 54:30So, Mike? Patton was teasing something
- 54:34last week, I didn't know what it was and he has made a whole
- 54:36album with the Avet Brothers band and it's called Avet Patton
- 54:41or A. VTTPTT.
- 54:43N And they have a self-titled album coming and they have a
- 54:48brand new song, Eternal Love, and it sounds like The Avett
- 54:52Brothers with Mike Patton singing, like he's just singing
- 54:55along with them, like they're all meant to be together.
- 54:57And it's pretty incredible. I hope the whole record is like
- 55:01this. I was just absolutely floored
- 55:03that this is happening. Maybe they will even tour What,
- 55:07you know, I'm just really glad to have Mike.
- 55:09I worry about Mike. I know Faith No More is probably
- 55:11not. Coming back and I'm super sad
- 55:13about it, but I really I'm a really hopeful that they come
- 55:18like, you know, that Mike continues to work and be a a
- 55:21viable, valuable artist. All right, pushing through.
- 55:26And that's what the album couple looks like.
- 55:27Just kind of gorgeous. The final I believe, Ozzie
- 55:33documentary, both the documentaries about Ozzie look
- 55:36like they're coming soon. The No Escape From Now, which is
- 55:39to document Ozzie's last five or six years of life, and the Back
- 55:43to the Beginning show is coming to Paramount Plus.
- 55:45I know the BBC documentary is kind of in competition with
- 55:48this. They had pulled it to add
- 55:50additional things. The family asked that it be
- 55:54pulled down and so this is coming soon.
- 55:57Very cool. Cromag.
- 56:00Speaking of Croman, it's one thing that was super interesting
- 56:02here. Josh is passing by.
- 56:05What's up, Harley Chromag. Chromag on tour.
- 56:11They got Pete Heinz back from Best Wishes.
- 56:13Really killer. And then I have a review coming
- 56:15finally of the Harley documentary Wired for Chaos.
- 56:20And I do hope to see them again soon and interview Harley again
- 56:23soon. He was really kind of nice.
- 56:27He. Did an interview where he, you
- 56:29know, he did a social media post where he thanked fans for always
- 56:32saying Chromax was an influence, but then he turned around in the
- 56:35comments and was like Metallica, Avenged Sevenfold.
- 56:39All these huge bands have never taken us on tour.
- 56:43So you are going to take inspiration from us, but you
- 56:46can't tour with us. The reality is Jeff fucking.
- 56:50Wood is here. What's up bro?
- 56:52The reality is that, you know, a lot of touring has nothing to do
- 56:55with the bands that are the headline bands.
- 56:58It has to do with ticket sales and Ticketmaster and shit, which
- 57:00we're going to talk about in a second because you know.
- 57:03But yeah, man, Harley kind of dropped.
- 57:07The bomb on a lot of bands called, you know that he called.
- 57:10It's kind of interesting. I have interviewed.
- 57:12A couple of people over the years like prom that I felt like
- 57:14a lot of people took from. And Tommy Victor also says that
- 57:19like, you know, hey, I don't see anybody ever saying we were
- 57:24influences or particularly into us.
- 57:28But so here's this news hit just before the show, and I just
- 57:32threw it into the shout out to Kim Hanson and I'll check from
- 57:36Ghost Called. Shout out to my homies Omar and
- 57:40Michael and everybody. The FTC, the Federal Trade
- 57:43Commission is suing Ticketmaster and Live Nation, alleging
- 57:48illegal ticket resale tactics. Hopefully this is the first step
- 57:52in breaking up this monopoly because again, like I said, the
- 57:57ticket industry, Ticketmaster and Live Nation are the same
- 58:00company. They own all the venues.
- 58:02They own most of the venues, 3/4 of the venues.
- 58:04They own all the marketing, they own all the billboards, they own
- 58:06all the touring apparatuses, they own all the scalpers and
- 58:10resellers and bots. And this makes it unfair to
- 58:14fans. It passes on extra cost to us.
- 58:19So I'm going to read the statement.
- 58:21The Federal Trade Commission in seven states have sued Live
- 58:23Nation and Ticketmaster on Thursday, alleging that the
- 58:25company's tacitly coordinated with brokers to harvest millions
- 58:29of dollars worth of tickets from primary markets.
- 58:33These tickets were then sold at a substantial markup in the
- 58:36secondary market, forcing consumers to pay.
- 58:39Far more than their face value. I'm sure this is mainly about
- 58:43Bruce Springsteen, Taylor Swift, Green Day, Foo Fighters, but.
- 58:49Also about the larger space, the FTC further alleged that in a
- 58:53complaint that the California-based Ticketmaster
- 58:56LLC and its parent company, Live Nation Entertainment Inc,
- 58:59deceived artists and consumers by engaging in a bait and switch
- 59:01pricing. Advertising lower ticket prices
- 59:04than what buyers were actually required to pay.
- 59:07Straight facts. Straight facts.
- 59:13The company's also alleged to claim and for strict limits on
- 59:16the number of tickets a consumer could purchase, even though
- 59:18brokers routinely and substantially exceed those
- 59:20limits. Facts.
- 59:22So millions of these tickets, often at a much higher prices on
- 59:25their resale platform they own. FTC is seeking civil penalties
- 59:29against Ticketmaster. So billions of dollars, but it
- 59:31doesn't matter. Ticketmaster and Live Nation
- 59:33have billions of dollars to pay. And any additional monetary
- 59:37relief that the court finds appropriate, the attorney
- 59:39generals of Virginia, Utah, Florida, Tennessee, Nebraska,
- 59:42Illinois and Colorado joined this action.
- 59:45Super interesting. Super interesting.
- 59:48So, yeah, that's a thing. We'll, we'll be, we'll keep
- 59:51tracking this story as it develops.
- 59:54Slipknot again continues to reign supreme with their
- 59:59Slipknot 25th Anniversary. Vile.
- 1:00:02I believe most of the variants are sold out and they have
- 1:00:05passed a platinum plateau yet again for that debut album.
- 1:00:08Fucking cool. Yet another platinum seller.
- 1:00:13This is a Mice and Men, they have a new single out.
- 1:00:15They announced a new album, which I think is pretty.
- 1:00:17Cool, I was not expecting a new album from them.
- 1:00:22Immerno was here. Whimsy fuck this year.
- 1:00:25Hello B Carrillo, Adam Austin, What up?
- 1:00:29What up? Thanks for being here also I'll
- 1:00:34just begin this for now. Also also let's see Boom Bro
- 1:00:39Cardi's album Feed my Soul are single.
- 1:00:42Feed My Soul is out now featuring Ray Luzier of Corn.
- 1:00:46Very cool British sort of punk. New metal artist just trying to
- 1:00:54kick me out for being on too long.
- 1:00:56Go fuck yourself. It's great you fooled.
- 1:01:01Everybody they started post, they wiped their socials clean
- 1:01:04and they were like, oh, maybe we're going to pack it in.
- 1:01:07They had all the 2527 years young, this, this and that.
- 1:01:11And then on September 17th, yesterday, my birthday, they
- 1:01:14dropped the new single, announced the new out.
- 1:01:16So nice try guys. Magnetic Eye Records is doing
- 1:01:22another one of their Redux series.
- 1:01:24We talked about this a couple of months ago when they intimated
- 1:01:27it. The Downward Spiral Redux will
- 1:01:29be all of the Downward Spiral covered by other metal bands as
- 1:01:32well as a greatest hits also of Nine Inch Nails also covered
- 1:01:38reimagined by metal bands. I love Magnetic Eye.
- 1:01:40I love the Redux series. I have the Soundgarden, I have
- 1:01:43the Helmet, I have Pink Floyd. I think I have the Sabbath.
- 1:01:48Nice in Human Condition, led by our homeboy there in the middle,
- 1:01:54Jeremy Kling, the great drummer in human conditions.
- 1:01:56The band where he's the vocalist, has dropped a new
- 1:01:58single on the Decibel Flexicus series.
- 1:02:03Very fun. Here's Full of hell.
- 1:02:05They had dropped off the current tour they're on because of Dylan
- 1:02:08Walker's father passing away. This is our former interviewee.
- 1:02:12Subject to be love. Full of hell.
- 1:02:14I saw them with Better Lovers. Dillinger last year, they were
- 1:02:16incredible. Big Ass Truck is a hardcore
- 1:02:22band. I think the next big, you know,
- 1:02:25I think there's not another spirit Boxer, Lona Shore who can
- 1:02:28do what they do. So the next big trend in rock
- 1:02:31and metal is probably going to be these metallic hardcore bands
- 1:02:33again, like your Bury your dad's, except much better.
- 1:02:37And so Big Ass Truck signed to Nuclear Blast.
- 1:02:39Surprising to see these bands signing the Century Media and
- 1:02:41metal bladed Nuclear Blast. Zachary Mills is here.
- 1:02:46What's up? And so yeah, they signed the
- 1:02:48Nuclear Blast drop. A new song announced the new
- 1:02:50single. Onward Downward is here.
- 1:02:52It's a good name. Here's wretched.
- 1:02:56They dropped the new single in a video.
- 1:02:57I might be doing an interview with them at some point.
- 1:02:59When I have some time. This is all these super groups
- 1:03:05are starting to freak me out. It's like I can't.
- 1:03:07Keep track of these guys. Halo Effect featuring members of
- 1:03:12Dark Tranquility and former members of In Flames.
- 1:03:15Did I cover if I want to be somebody by wasp and it will
- 1:03:18surely be better than Wasps original go check that out.
- 1:03:24We were telling you last week metal blade records has teamed
- 1:03:27up with rare character whiskey to drop a new their own whiskey
- 1:03:33brand metal blade single barrel series selected by metal blade
- 1:03:38and it's almost all sold out. So if you are a big whiskey fan
- 1:03:41and you love metal blade, you want to move on that with the
- 1:03:43quickness. And that is?
- 1:03:46All the news that's fit the print It was a very busy week in
- 1:03:49concerts and festivals and a week full of drama Otherwise,
- 1:03:54let us talk about new music Friday because, you know, we
- 1:03:57always do let's. Let's do it.
- 1:04:01Let's see, let's talk about all the new music that's coming out.
- 1:04:07We are almost through September. Wild wild shit.
- 1:04:15Here is the new music coming out this week.

- 1:08:37That is all the new music coming out this week.
- 1:08:40Holy. Cow, it's a lot of records.
- 1:08:43And now it's time for the mailbag.
- 1:08:45And it's like the final, final thing here in the show.
- 1:08:49And first and foremost. I showed some of this stuff off.
- 1:08:51Yesterday, which you can watch on the Replay podcast I did get.
- 1:08:57Some presents for my birthday Thank you to my girlfriend
- 1:08:59Melissa. Thank you to Melissa's family
- 1:09:00for. Adorning me with some cash that
- 1:09:03I bought some records with, but I just wanted to show this again
- 1:09:05because we talked about in the news a few weeks ago this is the
- 1:09:08Super 7 dimebag Daryl Super 7 reaction figure.
- 1:09:12It does look kind of like the I've been hearing comments that
- 1:09:16he looks like Chris Cornell. Actually I would have.
- 1:09:19Painted a smile on Daryl's face because.
- 1:09:22Even though he always made like guitar face, he was always
- 1:09:25happy. And smiling, you know?
- 1:09:27He really exuded pure joy and he does have like the classic Dean.
- 1:09:31Not the lightning bolt team but the old school Dean ML, the
- 1:09:35maroon ML. Probably because they can't get
- 1:09:37the rights to use the guitar yet.
- 1:09:40But super stoked. I got this for myself actually
- 1:09:43with my tips from karaoke but I was.
- 1:09:45Telling. On the Glacial Musical podcast,
- 1:09:47which you can watch at midnight, where if you listen to podcasts
- 1:09:50that I had in getting my new record shelves last week, I have
- 1:09:57unearthed and of this behind me under this Capra flag and this
- 1:10:00Testament flag is actually a clothing closet.
- 1:10:03And I had a store of records in there that I never unboxed or
- 1:10:06opened or cataloged because I'm lazy and I need to do better
- 1:10:10with my disc cogs, but especially for insurance
- 1:10:15purposes. But anyway, I had found a bunch
- 1:10:18of vinyls I never opened or looked at and so I was going to
- 1:10:21unbox one on here and I should have opened the plastic before
- 1:10:24the show because of course. Trimmed my nails.
- 1:10:28And I can't open this thing, but this is here's Between the
- 1:10:30Buried and Me colors. The classic, right?
- 1:10:36Like, I'm not the hugest BT Band fan.
- 1:10:38They do have a new album out now as of last week, and I may yet
- 1:10:41still talk to them about it. We'll see.
- 1:10:43They haven't been available much, but they Craft recording
- 1:10:47sent me this remaster and I talked about it and I talked
- 1:10:52about getting it and I listened to the promo version of it
- 1:10:55before it was dropped the remastered, and it sounds great,
- 1:10:58but I never actually opened it and played it on my turntable.
- 1:11:01I think I ran out of time. Give me one second here.
- 1:11:05Open this fucking thing here. What in the fuck is happening?
- 1:11:14Folks try this at home and try to do better than me and try to
- 1:11:18get this plastic off. They'll have a hype sticker
- 1:11:21which is red, so here's colors double gatefold or gatefold
- 1:11:28double vinyl. Here's the reproduced album
- 1:11:33artwork. You can now see it, the front
- 1:11:36cover, the back cover, and then let's see what's in here.
- 1:11:40I believe there's a booklets two albums.
- 1:11:45Don't think there's a digital download card.
- 1:11:47Why would you? OK it's in the paper.
- 1:11:51My loss is in the paper sleeves which I don't love and on the
- 1:11:56180 gram vinyl. So basically.
- 1:12:01That's what it looks like. As I always say, and we say on
- 1:12:06the Glacial Musical podcast, get rid of your paper sleeves.
- 1:12:09Don't use these. Paper creates static that ruins
- 1:12:13your records and your needle and your turntables.
- 1:12:15So you want these pristinely in these?
- 1:12:18Invest in vinyl. Sleeves that I use here for
- 1:12:21both. The inner and the outer.
- 1:12:23So here's the outer sleeve that I will put it in.
- 1:12:25And here's one example of a inner mylar pronoun sleeve.
- 1:12:32Super cool. Thank you Craft recordings.
- 1:12:34Thank you. Between the barrier to me,
- 1:12:35again, not the hugest fan of theirs, but that record is an
- 1:12:38all time classic progressive metal album and that is the show
- 1:12:42in a very manageable one hour and 12 minutes.
- 1:12:45So thanks for hanging with me. Thanks for bearing with me.
- 1:12:47I'm kind of low energy. There's some technical
- 1:12:50difficulties to start the show originally at the beginning, you
- 1:12:54know, I'm just glad to be here. I appreciate you all for
- 1:12:57watching. Keep it to ghostcultman.com for
- 1:13:01all your metal and rock news. As we say every week in the
- 1:13:04juncture of the show, it's a tough time in the world, so
- 1:13:06please take care of yourselves, take care of each other, and
- 1:13:09stay as metal as humanly possible.
- 1:13:11I'm going to dance a jig on the way out of here.
- 1:13:13I love you, Mom. Rest in power, peace.
- 1:13:18At least that worked. Now I can dance my jig.
- 1:13:21Peace.
