- 0:00Happy Sunday morning, everybody. The humidity is through the roof
- 0:08in Saint Louis. My wife Kim surprised me
- 0:13yesterday and went to the races with me.
- 0:16Every week I say, honey, go to the races with me and she'd say,
- 0:21no, I'm going down to the casino.
- 0:24That's her office and I go dirt racing, but last night she went
- 0:30racing with me and all the way home I said, you know, fire
- 0:34suits are a great invention, but when you stay in them for like 6
- 0:39hours, you know, you show up at the racetrack, you put them on
- 0:41about 5/30, 6:00 and then you get out of them around midnight
- 0:46at night. That concept of wrapping
- 0:49yourself basically in a wool suit.
- 0:53Hey, Legend. He wants a little bit of action
- 0:58up here. But anyway, you know, fire suits
- 1:02are a great invention. Bill Simpson, we miss Bill
- 1:06Simpson. Boy, he was a great innovator.
- 1:09But anyway, you put that fire suit on it about 5/30, 6:00 and
- 1:13then you take it off at about midnight and you wrap yourself
- 1:16in a wool suit and buddy, I'm going to tell you what boy, do
- 1:20you sweat? I gained a little bit of I
- 1:23gained a little bit of weight in the winter time because you
- 1:26don't sweat. But boy, oh boy.
- 1:30Anyway, it was a barn burner last night all the way around
- 1:34Our racetrack had character. I started 10th, challenging for
- 1:41the lead, got body slammed. That was OK because I'm a badass
- 1:51and finished third, finished third wild.
- 1:58Last race I think 9 cars finished.
- 2:01Had had like 31 cars and it was wild.
- 2:07It was wild. The Savannah bananas, the Harlem
- 2:13Globetrotters of our day. So for you kids out there, back
- 2:18in my day, I keep hearing Larry Mack Reynolds, back in my day,
- 2:24we had the Harlem Globetrotters and they were a basketball team
- 2:30and they were funny and they could do some tricks and they'd
- 2:33dance and they always played like a Washington Nationals team
- 2:38or something like that. They'd always win.
- 2:40And boy were they funny. And we loved it.
- 2:43And for some reason, the Harlem Globetrotters, they kind of
- 2:46petered out. They they weren't that famous.
- 2:50Now out of nowhere, the Savannah Bananas.
- 2:55Now, you know, Savannah, GA, the Savannah Bananas, they are the
- 2:59they're the big hit. And somebody's saying that.
- 3:04Respond right here. Auggie Nash, if you're watching
- 3:07this, he's kind of a Saint Louis Cardinal baseball historian.
- 3:11I'm here and I'm reading. Could be fake news.
- 3:16Whether it is or not, the crowd looked incredible.
- 3:19Sold out Busch Stadium, Busch Stadium where the Cardinals
- 3:23play, sold it out two nights in a row.
- 3:27So when you sell something out two nights in a row, you're
- 3:30like, what the Hell's going on over there?
- 3:34The Savannah Bananas, they go, they start out these little
- 3:39bitty old farm teams, you know, where maybe fit 23000 people in
- 3:43and now they're selling sold out stadiums and you got to be in a
- 3:48lottery. You just can't buy tickets.
- 3:50That's how big it is. So they sold out two nights in a
- 3:53row and they are funny. They dance and then the umpire
- 3:57dances and then they got something's really cool.
- 4:01They bring in one of the legendary pitchers from that
- 4:04area. Like they brought in Adam
- 4:06Wainwright, our World Series pitcher crowd goes bat crazy.
- 4:11Then they brought in the second night, they brought in Lance
- 4:13Lynn. So the question is this, we
- 4:17can't. We can't get anybody in the in
- 4:20Busch Stadium right now to watch our eleven time world champion
- 4:24Saint Louis Cardinals. Now there's a lot of reasons why
- 4:28the people are rebelling because management won't get the right
- 4:33players. Listen, I know more about the
- 4:35Cardinals than anybody just because I don't talk about it.
- 4:39I know everything, OK? I like doing that.
- 4:43That's just funny. I get that for Big Brother
- 4:46Rusty. I'm the greatest.
- 4:48Everybody else sucks. I win everything.
- 4:52It's kind of a comedy, so just have fun with me.
- 4:55I know everything about the Cardinals.
- 4:57But anyway, the moral story is we haven't seen a crowd like
- 5:00that at Bush Stadium in years, since the playoffs.
- 5:05What is it? Everybody respond right here.
- 5:08I think it's an odd time in life.
- 5:10Everybody's miserable. We asked for these damn cell
- 5:15phones and now they're covering everything.
- 5:18I think everybody's miserable. I see it out there.
- 5:21Not me though. I'm happy as a mother fucker I
- 5:25am. I really am happy.
- 5:27But it's it's an odd time and I think people are looking for
- 5:31some happiness. And I applaud everybody for
- 5:35finding happiness. Go wherever you got to go to
- 5:37find happiness. And the Savannah bananas,
- 5:40they're awesome. I love them.
- 5:42I think it's great. Anytime anybody can bring
- 5:44happiness, make people laugh. My old crew chief, Billy, the
- 5:48kid Smith, he was sending me videos and I like Billy.
- 5:52I'm at the racetrack. I just got out.
- 5:54I just run my heat. I'm working on my car.
- 5:57My phone's Ding, Ding, Ding. Billy loves me and he kept
- 6:04sending me videos. He was in.
- 6:06He was up a Nosebleed section and they was all watching the
- 6:09big screen. Now that's another subject right
- 6:12there. Go to the stadium, you're
- 6:15sitting so far away you you can't see what's happening in
- 6:18real time. So everybody is watching the big
- 6:20screen, but they're there. They can't see what's happening
- 6:24because they're in the Nosebleed section.
- 6:26Thank God for the big screen. So let's wrap that up.
- 6:29Respond right here. Do people value entertainment
- 6:33more nowadays? People, it seems like people
- 6:36don't like serious competition anymore.
- 6:39That's key. People don't like serious
- 6:41competition anymore. They like fun and I agree.
- 6:45I get it. I get it because it's a it's a
- 6:48bad crazy time in life. OK, switching subjects, how
- 6:53about this Connor Zilich? Connor Zilich four wins in the
- 6:58Xfinity Series on the year and I believe ten straight top 10s.
- 7:03Is it is it? Is it 8 or 10 straight top 10s?
- 7:08No top fives. Top fives respond right here.
- 7:12Help me out. We found our new Jeff Gordon.
- 7:15I think, I think he's going to run good right when he goes to
- 7:18the Cup Series. Connor Zilla.
- 7:21So congratulations, Connor. The Xfinity race got cut short
- 7:2666 laps. He was he was the winner anyway,
- 7:30so Anthony Mackery switching subjects, everybody.
- 7:34Anthony Mackery wins $200,000 at the Kings Royal at Eldora.
- 7:40Congratulations, Anthony second was Rico Ebru, third Kyle Larson
- 7:46and from the back was David gravel all that drama hey it was
- 7:53a good show up there at Eldora. It was a good show listen, I'm
- 7:57thinking about Brad sweet my my friend love Brad sweet Brad Brad
- 8:01will call me out of nowhere the great Brad sweet yes he will
- 8:05he'll just call me up so I feel so I texted him he's in the
- 8:09hospital. I think man, he, he got in that
- 8:12wall and he was OK, but boy, the last car came hit him right in
- 8:16the damn driver's door. So my thoughts are with Brad
- 8:18Sweep the whole family, everybody.
- 8:20I love you all and I hope, hope Brad recovers very well.
- 8:26I hear that all X-rays are negative, but I've had my bell
- 8:30rung. I've had my bell rung.
- 8:32I've had a positional Vertigo. I've been beat this man.
- 8:36I've hit that wall up there loud.
- 8:37New Hampshire. I know what it's like to get
- 8:39your bell rung and it is not fun.
- 8:42I think that's it. I think I think that's it.
- 8:44Everybody. I think that I think we're going
- 8:46to tag this one. Is entertainment more serious?
- 8:54No. Is entertainment not as fun?
- 8:59No. Is competition not as fun as
- 9:02entertainment? Right.
- 9:05Have fun with the Savannah Bananas.
- 9:07I think it's a time where we all need a little bit of happiness.
- 9:10Oh, and by the way, shout out to Richard Marshall.
- 9:14Richard Marshall made me a great video last night.
- 9:16He goes, Herman, all racing is not dead.
- 9:19Sprint cars are kicking ass. I agree, Richard, and I'm happy
- 9:24you got your ex account back because if you watch my videos
- 9:28closely, I said the big events are still doing good.
- 9:34The big events are still doing good, correct?
- 9:37You know, Kings, Royal, Knoxville, Nationals, that
- 9:41stuff's still doing good. And spring car racing is
- 9:43exciting. I can tell you that.
- 9:45Those cars are so damn fast. All right, have a great Sunday,
- 9:49everybody. We're supposed to run Quincy,
- 9:52but man, it gets there's so much rain up there.
- 9:55We'll see what happens. We supposed to run Quincy, IL
- 9:59tonight. It's been raining up there 40
- 10:01days and 40 nights, so we'll see.
- 10:04As my wife says, we'll see. Have a great Sunday.
