- 1:07SPEAKER_00: So a big welcome to the show, Linda.
- 1:09SPEAKER_00: Thank you.
- 1:10SPEAKER_01: Excited to be here and have this conversation.
- 1:13SPEAKER_00: Well,
- 1:13SPEAKER_00: there's so much in there I just want to unpack,
- 1:16SPEAKER_00: especially about dreams,
- 1:17but I always love to ask people how they kind of came to doing
- 1:21the work that
- 1:21SPEAKER_00: they're doing.
- 1:22SPEAKER_01: Yeah, it's an interesting one, isn't it?
- 1:24SPEAKER_01: How we align with what resonates.
- 1:26My mom passed when I was two and she would actually come to me
- 1:30in my dreams.
- 1:31SPEAKER_01: And that so since a little girl,
- 1:33I've been just I just realized that working with dreams and
- 1:38paying attention to my
- 1:38dreams is a way to connect with something larger than what
- 1:42we're seeing every day.
- 1:44SPEAKER_01: And then that just grew and expanded.
- 1:46And I started realizing how much intelligence comes through
- 1:49while we're sleeping.
- 1:50I love that and I feel that too sometimes you have those dreams
- 1:55and you have to put
- 1:55together all the symbolism and you think what was that right
- 1:58and then other times
- 2:00SPEAKER_00: you can have those dreams and you fully understand what's being shown and
- 2:04I know for me I feel like I've got three categories of dreams
- 2:08like I have the ones
- 2:08that are all the symbolism that I have to really think about I
- 2:12have the ones that
- 2:12are so clear and I get the perfect understanding and then I
- 2:15have the ones that are
- 2:16beyond a dream it's more that soul connection or something
- 2:20going on with the soul
- 2:21that are you can't even explain it it's just almost a soul
- 2:24memory or I guess we
- 2:26could go to a whole completely woo section and go parallel
- 2:29lives or things like
- 2:30SPEAKER_00: that
- 2:30SPEAKER_00: But it's really interesting how much can happen in our subconscious.
- 2:34SPEAKER_01: Most definitely.
- 2:35SPEAKER_01: I always look at dreams as just language of the soul.
- 2:38SPEAKER_01: And yeah, I can come as some really crazy, crazy stuff.
- 2:41SPEAKER_01: It's like, what was that?
- 2:43SPEAKER_01: Why was I flying on a fish through the sky?
- 2:46SPEAKER_01: Right.
- 2:46SPEAKER_01: However, the symbols are so important and it is our language of the soul.
- 2:51SPEAKER_01: I feel it's very personal and individual to each person.
- 2:54And so as we begin to work with our dreams more,
- 2:56then we can decipher things.
- 2:58SPEAKER_01: Kind of what's happening?
- 2:59SPEAKER_01: What do I need to look at?
- 3:00SPEAKER_01: But in every single aspect of a dream is ourselves.
- 3:04SPEAKER_01: I don't care what the dream is.
- 3:05There will be an aspect of ourself in there and it's being
- 3:08shown for our own
- 3:10SPEAKER_01: evolution,
- 3:10SPEAKER_01: evolving,
- 3:11transforming through giving us kind of a strange little roadmap
- 3:16for waking.
- 3:17SPEAKER_01: Yeah.
- 3:17yeah which is so beautiful I have so many questions popping in
- 3:20my head okay thank
- 3:22you they're like say this one first I was like all right um so
- 3:25the first question
- 3:26is what are common misconceptions that people have about
- 3:29interpreting dreams well
- 3:31SPEAKER_01: gosh that's a big
- 3:32I look at them as a gift and it really is that shadow self of
- 3:41us speaking but we
- 3:43can get that mixed up with something bad's gonna happen
- 3:45something's coming to get
- 3:46SPEAKER_01: us something
- 3:47SPEAKER_01: I used to have the symbol of Michael Myers.
- 4:02Myers from the horror movie Halloween used to show up a lot as
- 4:06my nightmare.
- 4:07SPEAKER_01: There was at one point, and this went on for a while, so fear, right?
- 4:11SPEAKER_01: We're looking at fear, ready to move.
- 4:12I actually pulled the mask off and behind it was my face and
- 4:16its fullest power.
- 4:18And I went,
- 4:19I'm afraid of my own power,
- 4:21which a lot of us are coming into it,
- 4:23stepping into it.
- 4:24And even just saying it right now,
- 4:26I can kind of feel the chills running through me.
- 4:28SPEAKER_01: and the vibration.
- 4:29SPEAKER_01: So if we look deeper in what that fear is, we're going to see ourselves.
- 4:35SPEAKER_01: And we can also just say, you know what, I hear you speaking.
- 4:39SPEAKER_01: Gentle, please.
- 4:40And that can kind of settle the nightmares down,
- 4:42especially those reoccurring ones.
- 4:44SPEAKER_01: How interesting.
- 4:45SPEAKER_00: Because I'm a mom, I'm going to ask this question.
- 4:48SPEAKER_00: So when our children are having nightmares,
- 4:50SPEAKER_00: what's the most helpful way to kind of courage them through it?
- 4:55Yeah,
- 4:56I like that question because they're so scary,
- 4:58especially when we're children.
- 4:59I think just being able to hold space for them to unwrap it
- 5:03instead of just saying,
- 5:04SPEAKER_01: oh,
- 5:04SPEAKER_01: it's just a nightmare.
- 5:05SPEAKER_01: It's not real.
- 5:07And to shift the perspective as a softening that there's
- 5:11something coming through.
- 5:14SPEAKER_01: And it's fear-based, but then not to be afraid of fear.
- 5:18SPEAKER_01: As a child,
- 5:18SPEAKER_01: we're not saying,
- 5:19SPEAKER_01: well,
- 5:19SPEAKER_01: you're afraid of your own power,
- 5:20SPEAKER_01: because I don't think that's going to really resonate,
- 5:22but that you are protected and that you are loved and nothing
- 5:26horrible can ever get
- 5:27SPEAKER_01: you.
- 5:29I like art for kids to kind of draw everything out that's a
- 5:32that's a beautiful way
- 5:34of framing that I know for me if I can get my son to talk about
- 5:37it and just share
- 5:38it and sometimes he doesn't want to and I said well sometimes
- 5:41talking about what
- 5:42SPEAKER_00: happened can help you understand it so yeah um
- 5:46because one he had recently was both my husband and I dying so
- 5:50he was really really
- 5:51sad like he was just crying and I said you know we will die one
- 5:55day I can't tell
- 5:56you when but you know and then I just made a joke of it because
- 5:59I said I understand
- 6:00why that's scary I said but you know I'll come back and haunt
- 6:03you right she's like
- 6:04SPEAKER_00: and he's like
- 6:05yeah and he's like really I said yeah I said if you're really
- 6:08missing me I'll just
- 6:09slam the door a few times and he's like fine but it was enough
- 6:13to shift him out of
- 6:14that full-on getting stuck in the emotion of it and realizing
- 6:18like okay this this
- 6:19is a possibility but it doesn't have to happen right now have
- 6:23I'm seeing it
- 6:23SPEAKER_00: happening as well
- 6:24And that's,
- 6:25you know,
- 6:25that's beautiful to bring up death in dreams,
- 6:28right?
- 6:28SPEAKER_01: Someone dying or us dying and difficult to kind of explain to a child,
- 6:34but I'm sure there's a way to present it when really it's just
- 6:37us and it's an
- 6:38SPEAKER_01: aspect of us that's ready to kind of move out,
- 6:41SPEAKER_01: right?
- 6:41SPEAKER_01: So let's say I have a dream of a friend of mine that dies.
- 6:46SPEAKER_01: I want to look at that aspect of the friend.
- 6:49SPEAKER_01: and then see the aspect in me.
- 6:51SPEAKER_01: And is that what's ready to move out?
- 6:53SPEAKER_01: You know, death to part of the self integrating.
- 6:56SPEAKER_00: Yeah.
- 6:57SPEAKER_00: I used to dream about my ex-husband dying,
- 6:59but I realized it was because that would be easier than having
- 7:02the courage to leave
- 7:03SPEAKER_00: the marriage.
- 7:04SPEAKER_00: I knew that that was my head trying to say,
- 7:07we need to go and yes this would be the easy way instead and
- 7:11then I used to have
- 7:12the other part of that was I was running like I was full on and
- 7:15I hate running
- 7:16Linda and I was full on bolting along this grass hill near our
- 7:20house and I was like
- 7:22okay I need I'm running away from this relationship rather than
- 7:26actually facing it
- 7:27and having the courage to say perfect to leave right yeah and
- 7:30you said it right
- 7:31SPEAKER_01: there rather than facing it and so when these really scary dreams death
- 7:36running away from what is it we're being asked to face in our
- 7:38waking life and it's
- 7:39going to be much more simpler than that the dream it's actually
- 7:43going to play out a
- 7:44lot more smoother and stream through rather than the movie that
- 7:49we're seeing while
- 7:49we're sleeping I feel to just to segue here into lucid dreaming
- 7:54so um do you I'm
- 7:56SPEAKER_00: just gonna say do you know much about that I feel you would if you don't
- 8:00SPEAKER_01: Yeah, it's, you know, there's so many different types of dreams.
- 8:04SPEAKER_01: So there's lucid,
- 8:05SPEAKER_01: there's out of body,
- 8:07SPEAKER_01: there's,
- 8:07SPEAKER_01: you know,
- 8:07SPEAKER_01: an astral travel,
- 8:08SPEAKER_01: and then there's contact.
- 8:10SPEAKER_01: And lucid dreaming, you know you're dreaming.
- 8:12SPEAKER_01: So you're waking up and you know you're dreaming.
- 8:14SPEAKER_01: Different than out of body where you're actually,
- 8:16SPEAKER_01: someone might say,
- 8:18SPEAKER_01: I went to,
- 8:19SPEAKER_01: like,
- 8:19SPEAKER_01: I really swear I was in Italy.
- 8:21I've never been there before,
- 8:22but it looks exactly like what I saw in my dream.
- 8:24SPEAKER_01: So then there's the travel.
- 8:25SPEAKER_01: And then the contact dream is when we experience something
- 8:29SPEAKER_01: where we know we're still in our bed,
- 8:31SPEAKER_01: but we're actually contacted by another being,
- 8:35SPEAKER_01: something in that.
- 8:36SPEAKER_01: Yeah.
- 8:37SPEAKER_01: So lucid dreaming, you definitely tell the difference.
- 8:40SPEAKER_01: You know you're dreaming.
- 8:41SPEAKER_01: So you're waking up and you go, you're dreaming.
- 8:44SPEAKER_01: One of the beautiful things to do about lucid dreaming is to say,
- 8:47SPEAKER_01: well,
- 8:47SPEAKER_01: am I dreaming or am I awake?
- 8:48SPEAKER_01: There's going to
- 8:49SPEAKER_01: Maybe something in there that's not normal.
- 8:52SPEAKER_01: Like maybe your hands are super long or super big.
- 8:55SPEAKER_01: So then you're going to go, okay, I'm lucid dreaming.
- 8:58SPEAKER_01: Or maybe a horse goes flying through the air with a pig's tail.
- 9:03SPEAKER_01: Then we know that, okay, I'm lucid dreaming.
- 9:07SPEAKER_00: Or am I in another planet, nurse?
- 9:09SPEAKER_01: Yeah, yeah.
- 9:10And you can do these,
- 9:11you know,
- 9:12I have little signposts that know what's happening.
- 9:14SPEAKER_01: And then the trick is a lot of times we get,
- 9:18SPEAKER_01: we jump and get fearful and it puts us right back awake into the body.
- 9:24SPEAKER_01: And so it's about learning to receive.
- 9:27SPEAKER_01: I always figure all dreaming is learning how to receive in life.
- 9:32SPEAKER_01: Then we can just learn to kind of play in there, work in there.
- 9:36SPEAKER_01: It's a practice.
- 9:37SPEAKER_01: I do more travel and contact than I do lucid dreaming.
- 9:44SPEAKER_00: Intriguing.
- 9:45SPEAKER_00: I've only had a few lucid dreams and I remember one.
- 9:48SPEAKER_00: Okay, thank you.
- 9:49I remember I had this one dream and for some reason I was
- 9:52building a cake with a
- 9:54SPEAKER_00: group of people,
- 9:54SPEAKER_00: right?
- 9:54SPEAKER_00: Like building, constructing this massive, massive cake.
- 9:57SPEAKER_00: And then I looked at it and I went, I can do that better.
- 10:01And I went off on my own with the same pieces if you will and I
- 10:05built a much better
- 10:06bigger cake and I and I went what's this dream about like it
- 10:09was this weird kind of
- 10:10lucid moment and I turned around and my spirit team was there
- 10:13and I said to them
- 10:15are you trying to show me that it's okay for me to choose a
- 10:17different path because
- 10:18SPEAKER_00: I can do it differently and it's still okay
- 10:21SPEAKER_00: And they said, yes, well done.
- 10:22SPEAKER_01: And then I woke up and I was like, thank you for that lesson.
- 10:25SPEAKER_00: But it's not always that clear.
- 10:27SPEAKER_01: Yeah.
- 10:27And that is so beautiful because you could just see that
- 10:30playing out where here you are.
- 10:31SPEAKER_01: It's all messy when you're working with other people.
- 10:33But there's this part of you that's such a leader and so
- 10:36independent that you can
- 10:37SPEAKER_01: create something beautiful without needing to follow.
- 10:40SPEAKER_01: So definitely beautiful.
- 10:41yeah but I have had all the different types of dreams that
- 10:44you're talking about but
- 10:46I think the biggest thing that frustrates me is that this ego
- 10:50in us when we wake up
- 10:51from those dreams it goes I'll remember and then you know
- 10:54within 20 minutes we've
- 10:56kind of forgotten unless it's really profound so do you have
- 11:00any tips for people
- 11:01SPEAKER_00: interpreting how to interpret their dreams yeah
- 11:04SPEAKER_01: Yeah,
- 11:04SPEAKER_01: as soon as the left brain comes on,
- 11:06it's almost like you try to chase the dream and it's getting
- 11:09farther and farther
- 11:10SPEAKER_01: and farther away.
- 11:10SPEAKER_01: It's really about lingering.
- 11:12There's a space we come into on the backside of sleep and it's
- 11:16a liminal space.
- 11:17And if we can linger in that and let it play out and it might
- 11:21disappear and that's okay.
- 11:24SPEAKER_01: Also rolling over in the same position you woke up in.
- 11:27So a lot of times we roll over when we first wake up,
- 11:29roll back over in that.
- 11:31Keeping your eyes closed Stay away from looking at the clock or
- 11:34anything And it can
- 11:35just be a minute Lingering Be the morning lingerer for a little
- 11:39bit A lot of times
- 11:40you might fall back into the dream Or that's a good platform
- 11:44for lucid dreaming And
- 11:45out of body to go into it So left brain comes on We start
- 11:49forgetting This goes for
- 11:50the middle of the night too We really can say Oh that's
- 11:52important I'll remember
- 11:53SPEAKER_01: that And then
- 11:55SPEAKER_01: We don't.
- 11:56SPEAKER_01: So writing it down as quickly as possible and really just the symbols,
- 12:00SPEAKER_01: you know,
- 12:00SPEAKER_01: like a black dog,
- 12:02SPEAKER_01: white cat,
- 12:02SPEAKER_01: whatever,
- 12:03just so it can kind of trigger it later when we do have time to
- 12:06sit with it.
- 12:09SPEAKER_00: Yeah, I feel that's important.
- 12:11And then someone once told me the feelings are important as
- 12:14much as the symbols.
- 12:15SPEAKER_01: Yeah, I was just going to say that.
- 12:17I have,
- 12:18I'm in the middle of one of my,
- 12:19the living dream course right now.
- 12:22SPEAKER_01: And there are a couple people that are saying,
- 12:24SPEAKER_01: I know I'm dreaming,
- 12:25SPEAKER_01: but I can't remember it,
- 12:26SPEAKER_01: but I know I'm dreaming.
- 12:28SPEAKER_01: And one thing to do is, yes, how does you feel the minute you woke up?
- 12:32And write down the feeling,
- 12:33because maybe you're being asked to see that first.
- 12:35SPEAKER_01: And then secondly, I know I dream.
- 12:38SPEAKER_01: I know I had a dream.
- 12:39SPEAKER_01: If I could remember it, it was.
- 12:41SPEAKER_00: And then write a prompt.
- 12:43SPEAKER_01: Yeah.
- 12:44SPEAKER_00: What do you say to people who say they can't dream or they don't dream?
- 12:48SPEAKER_01: That they do.
- 12:49SPEAKER_01: Everybody dreams.
- 12:50SPEAKER_01: I do them too.
- 12:50That's what I say too Everybody dreams Everybody dreams Yeah
- 12:54It's not that you're
- 12:54not It's about remembering And it's learning to listen to
- 12:58yourself That's the whole
- 13:00key And we're receiving messages from something larger than we
- 13:05are in these human
- 13:07SPEAKER_01: bodies And it's a practice It's a muscle Right?
- 13:11SPEAKER_00: Yeah Yeah Yeah
- 13:13And I feel it's really important that you bring up that aspect
- 13:16because it is a
- 13:17muscle and the more we tune in sometimes but I will go to
- 13:22spirit before I go to
- 13:22sleep I really need a deep sleep tonight please just let me
- 13:27sleep and I do I get
- 13:29that because sometimes a lot happens in my subconscious whilst
- 13:33I'm sleeping and you
- 13:34wake up feeling tired because you have gone through I don't
- 13:37know a massive upgrade
- 13:39SPEAKER_00: or a massive healing journey
- 13:41SPEAKER_00: when you're meant to be sleeping.
- 13:43I feel to point that out too because you can ask for a break if
- 13:47it has been a lot
- 13:48SPEAKER_00: because sometimes it does fry our nervous system as well.
- 13:51SPEAKER_01: Most definitely.
- 13:52SPEAKER_01: Yeah, I asked for that.
- 13:54SPEAKER_01: I've just gone through a lot.
- 13:56SPEAKER_01: I'm in the middle of a move.
- 13:58My stepfather just passed and I'm just exhausted and I'm like,
- 14:02I just need to sleep tonight.
- 14:04SPEAKER_01: I need deep sleep also to be held, just to be held.
- 14:09SPEAKER_01: And every time I do that,
- 14:11SPEAKER_01: I have beautiful sleep,
- 14:13SPEAKER_01: my dreams,
- 14:14SPEAKER_01: I'm dreaming but I'm not remembering them and that's fine.
- 14:17SPEAKER_01: And I feel really refreshed in the morning.
- 14:20SPEAKER_01: But we can also ask to be healed as we sleep.
- 14:23SPEAKER_01: Yeah.
- 14:23SPEAKER_01: I do that often.
- 14:24SPEAKER_01: I do too.
- 14:26SPEAKER_00: Yeah.
- 14:26SPEAKER_00: Yeah.
- 14:27SPEAKER_00: People are like, what?
- 14:28SPEAKER_00: It's like,
- 14:28SPEAKER_00: yeah,
- 14:29SPEAKER_00: if you actually surrender your healing to the universe,
- 14:32SPEAKER_00: they'll take you through healing.
- 14:33SPEAKER_00: Sometimes I'll start and go into a little bit of a ritual,
- 14:35SPEAKER_00: like I'll go connecting with my spirit team or something like that.
- 14:39SPEAKER_00: And then I just drift off.
- 14:41SPEAKER_00: But I know that they've got it,
- 14:42SPEAKER_00: you know,
- 14:42SPEAKER_00: especially I find if I fall into a deep sleep whilst that's happening,
- 14:46SPEAKER_00: that I'm going to a very deep level of healing.
- 14:49SPEAKER_00: or even if I'm working with a practitioner.
- 14:53I've had like online guided sessions where they were doing
- 14:56healing and I've just
- 14:57SPEAKER_00: drifted off and woken up like an hour later going,
- 15:00SPEAKER_00: where am I?
- 15:01SPEAKER_00: Then messaged the practitioner, I'm so sorry, I fell asleep.
- 15:04SPEAKER_00: She's like, don't be sorry.
- 15:05SPEAKER_00: It just means you went into that deeper level of healing.
- 15:08But a lot of healing can happen when we choose to surrender and
- 15:11put ourselves in that
- 15:12SPEAKER_00: in a deeper state.
- 15:13But I feel it's so important to remember that it's okay to ask
- 15:16for it too.
- 15:17SPEAKER_01: Always.
- 15:18And that's really the most important part of it all is the
- 15:22intention and what we put forward.
- 15:24SPEAKER_01: And I love how you said you call in your spirit team.
- 15:27SPEAKER_01: Many times, I had an experience once, it was a contact meeting
- 15:32experience where I was in the presence of just angels,
- 15:36big,
- 15:36enormous angels all around me.
- 15:38SPEAKER_01: And I was completely awake and looking at them as I see you.
- 15:42SPEAKER_01: I call them every time.
- 15:44SPEAKER_01: I just say, okay, I just need to be held by the angels.
- 15:47SPEAKER_01: And I usually,
- 15:48SPEAKER_01: I just,
- 15:49SPEAKER_01: it's this part where you can just kind of fill your body,
- 15:51SPEAKER_01: just let go and be held.
- 15:53SPEAKER_01: Yeah.
- 15:54SPEAKER_01: Receive, receive, receive, receive.
- 15:56SPEAKER_00: Yes.
- 15:56SPEAKER_00: A hundred percent.
- 15:58SPEAKER_00: Yeah.
- 15:59and my next question about is if your nervous system they asked
- 16:03me to bridge if
- 16:04your nervous system is really dysregulated does it make it
- 16:08harder to dream or to
- 16:09SPEAKER_00: understand your dreams
- 16:10SPEAKER_01: Well,
- 16:11SPEAKER_01: I think if our nervous system is dysregulated,
- 16:12SPEAKER_01: we're not really hitting a lot of REM sleep.
- 16:15SPEAKER_01: We're not hitting that deep sleep and it's intermittent sleep.
- 16:18SPEAKER_01: Yes, yes, because I don't think that's our focus either.
- 16:21I think if our nervous system is in hyperstate,
- 16:25we are constantly in that fight or flight.
- 16:28And so we may not even be paying attention to what's coming
- 16:31through,
- 16:31right?
- 16:32SPEAKER_01: We may not have that capability at that point.
- 16:34SPEAKER_01: I mean, it's not our focus.
- 16:36SPEAKER_01: Yeah, most definitely.
- 16:37SPEAKER_01: I look at the,
- 16:38SPEAKER_01: it's funny,
- 16:38SPEAKER_01: I look at the central nervous system as being really,
- 16:41really important as the kind of the airport control tower of
- 16:45our system and almost
- 16:47SPEAKER_01: an antenna to spirit.
- 16:49SPEAKER_01: And when that is off, that antenna seems a little doused.
- 16:52SPEAKER_01: And so we're not receiving.
- 16:54SPEAKER_00: Yeah.
- 16:54SPEAKER_00: Well,
- 16:54SPEAKER_00: because I guess from a spiritual point of view,
- 16:58SPEAKER_00: our central nervous system is connected to our crown chakra,
- 17:01SPEAKER_00: which is our antenna,
- 17:02SPEAKER_00: right,
- 17:02SPEAKER_00: to God.
- 17:03Divine Universe or that is whatever resonates for if you're
- 17:06listening just put the
- 17:07word in there for you you know and I guess this is where
- 17:11sometimes we have to pay
- 17:12attention to our body and what it's trying to say to us and
- 17:15often I know for me if
- 17:16SPEAKER_00: I'm in a state of heightened
- 17:18Nervous System or when I was really stressed and burnt out in
- 17:22my previous life,
- 17:23no this life but you know the previous walks that it was my
- 17:27dreams were really
- 17:28frantic and they were very they almost were like a mirror of
- 17:32what was happening in
- 17:33my walking life because it was that that energy just didn't
- 17:37have a chance to kind
- 17:38of let go it just kept pushing through and kept pushing harder
- 17:41and harder and
- 17:42SPEAKER_00: harder.
- 17:43SPEAKER_01: Yeah, it's uncomfortable.
- 17:44SPEAKER_01: So if something's uncomfortable, what do we tend to do?
- 17:47SPEAKER_01: Run from it and not pay attention.
- 17:49SPEAKER_01: That was me and Michael Myers.
- 17:51SPEAKER_01: And I do,
- 17:52SPEAKER_01: in that sense,
- 17:53I look at sleep hygiene and sleep as being our number one
- 17:58medicine and really
- 17:59SPEAKER_01: focusing on the sleep hygiene first and then moving into the dreams.
- 18:03SPEAKER_01: It would kind of be a natural unfolding coming forward.
- 18:07And I do work with some plant medicine in that aspect with
- 18:10dreams and sleep medicine.
- 18:12SPEAKER_01: So there's sleep hygiene.
- 18:13SPEAKER_00: Yeah.
- 18:14Can you explain a little bit more about what sleep hygiene
- 18:17actually means for
- 18:17SPEAKER_00: people going,
- 18:18SPEAKER_00: what?
- 18:20SPEAKER_00: Sleep Hygiene.
- 18:21SPEAKER_01: I'll just kind of go through.
- 18:23SPEAKER_01: I'm a super light sleeper.
- 18:24SPEAKER_01: So it's really important that I set my evening up for success.
- 18:29SPEAKER_01: And I always take a shower.
- 18:30SPEAKER_01: I take on so many energies.
- 18:32SPEAKER_01: I take a shower at night, every single night.
- 18:34SPEAKER_01: If I don't, my nervous system, my body is just like this.
- 18:37SPEAKER_01: And so it's just rinsing off the day.
- 18:39A lot of people will just say like a type of prayer,
- 18:42type of create a ritual.
- 18:44SPEAKER_01: and a mantra and learning how to just relax the body and be safe.
- 18:49A lot of times our nervous systems are so heightened because it
- 18:52doesn't feel safe
- 18:53SPEAKER_01: to just let go.
- 18:56SPEAKER_00: Yeah, that's beautiful.
- 18:58SPEAKER_00: I shower at night too.
- 18:59I changed for a little bit and used to do mornings because just
- 19:02me changing for other people.
- 19:04SPEAKER_00: But then I went back to nighttime showers.
- 19:07SPEAKER_00: And then when I started dating my husband now,
- 19:09SPEAKER_00: he's like,
- 19:10SPEAKER_00: why wouldn't you want to wash off the day?
- 19:12Like exactly like you said,
- 19:14why wouldn't you want to wash off the energies?
- 19:16And because water can be so restorative and clearing that we
- 19:19don't even realize the
- 19:20SPEAKER_00: deeper level it's working just by standing in that shower.
- 19:23It's amazing how you can feel like,
- 19:26ugh,
- 19:27this day or the heaviness or the tiredness.
- 19:29SPEAKER_01: You take a shower and it shifts everything.
- 19:31SPEAKER_01: A lot of times I'll walk and then shower.
- 19:34SPEAKER_01: Go out for a walk and then shower.
- 19:35SPEAKER_01: It just changes everything.
- 19:36Are we getting sunlight first thing in the morning to hit that
- 19:40and kind of bring
- 19:42SPEAKER_01: that circadian rhythm in?
- 19:44SPEAKER_01: That's powerful.
- 19:45SPEAKER_00: Yeah.
- 19:46SPEAKER_00: Yeah.
- 19:47SPEAKER_00: 100%.
- 19:48SPEAKER_01: And actually...
- 19:49SPEAKER_00: Doing the sun gazing, which I know people are like, what?
- 19:52But if you look at the sun with your eyes closed very early in
- 19:55the morning,
- 19:56SPEAKER_00: it's so beneficial on so many levels.
- 19:59SPEAKER_01: Yes, beautiful.
- 20:00SPEAKER_01: I'm just standing barefoot on the earth.
- 20:04SPEAKER_01: Yes, 100%.
- 20:06SPEAKER_00: And then I feel to ask too,
- 20:07SPEAKER_00: Linda,
- 20:08how does microdosing come into play when you're working with
- 20:12your clients?
- 20:12SPEAKER_00: Yes.
- 20:12Yeah,
- 20:13so I work with mainly two different medicines,
- 20:17mushrooms,
- 20:18amanita and psilocybin.
- 20:19SPEAKER_01: So amanita muscaria is a beautiful mushroom.
- 20:23It's the red and white iconic mushroom and works with our
- 20:27central nervous system.
- 20:28SPEAKER_01: Directly.
- 20:29SPEAKER_01: So is agonist to GABA.
- 20:32SPEAKER_01: And so what happens is,
- 20:33SPEAKER_01: you know,
- 20:34SPEAKER_01: if our nervous system is revved up,
- 20:37SPEAKER_01: where our glutamate pedal is down,
- 20:39SPEAKER_01: the on switch to the brain,
- 20:41SPEAKER_01: GABA is our off switch.
- 20:42SPEAKER_01: But if it's over-exhausted, it's not
- 20:44Amenita is agonist to GABA,
- 20:48so brain grabs onto it,
- 20:50soothing our nervous system.
- 20:52And I normally start people out on that one 30 days straight
- 20:54just to get their
- 20:56SPEAKER_01: nervous system moving in and then moving into psilocybin.
- 20:59SPEAKER_01: where we're working more with serotonin receptors.
- 21:02SPEAKER_01: And we're looking at working with emotions,
- 21:06SPEAKER_01: moving things that are ready to,
- 21:08SPEAKER_01: that aren't serving us and heightened creativity,
- 21:12SPEAKER_01: which both of the mushrooms do because if our nervous system is settled,
- 21:15then we're automatically more aligned with our creativity and
- 21:18what we're here to
- 21:19SPEAKER_01: do.
- 21:19SPEAKER_01: So psilocybin works more with our brain and the narrow pathways.
- 21:23SPEAKER_01: Amanita works more with that central nervous system.
- 21:27SPEAKER_01: So promoting sleep.
- 21:29Amplifying Dreams Restoring the Body I look at her as the
- 21:33Restoration and then
- 21:35which is so needed right now in our world of chaos and then
- 21:38psilocybin the body's
- 21:40restored enough for psilocybin to come in and do its work so I
- 21:42look at Amanita as
- 21:44SPEAKER_01: aerating and the soil and psilocybin is tilling
- 21:49SPEAKER_00: Yeah, beautiful.
- 21:50SPEAKER_00: And I love that you explained that so beautifully too,
- 21:53SPEAKER_00: because if your nervous system's gone,
- 21:56it's really hard to do emotional work because you're just in
- 21:58fight or flight
- 21:59SPEAKER_00: already,
- 21:59SPEAKER_00: right?
- 22:00SPEAKER_00: Or freeze.
- 22:01SPEAKER_00: Nothing's going to shift because you're already in a heightened state.
- 22:04SPEAKER_01: Yeah, and you can see it a lot when people do all their work, right?
- 22:07They're doing yoga,
- 22:09they're walking,
- 22:10they're meditating,
- 22:11they're going to retreats.
- 22:12SPEAKER_01: But it's not lasting.
- 22:14And I think it's that nervous system still gripping and the
- 22:16nervous system has to
- 22:17SPEAKER_01: feel safe enough to just be able to let go.
- 22:20SPEAKER_01: Amanita is beautiful for that.
- 22:22And I think I said that wrong because it's actually Amanita
- 22:25tilling the soil and then soil sun
- 22:28SPEAKER_01: Because if we get super uncomfortable,
- 22:31SPEAKER_01: you know,
- 22:31SPEAKER_01: microdosing can create uncomfortability because we're moving resistance.
- 22:36SPEAKER_01: And with the nervous system soothed down,
- 22:38then it allows for the being safe in the body and the
- 22:41remembering to start
- 22:42SPEAKER_01: happening.
- 22:43I just got this image of,
- 22:45you know,
- 22:45we've got two types of yoga,
- 22:47yin yoga and yang yoga.
- 22:49SPEAKER_00: So for anyone not sure what the difference is, yin yoga is very slow.
- 22:53SPEAKER_00: It's like very much opening up all your emotional pathways.
- 22:56SPEAKER_00: We've got yang yoga, which is like run, run, run, run, run.
- 22:58SPEAKER_00: So when I first did yin yoga,
- 23:01I had all these emotions come out and even now sometimes I'll
- 23:04do like a hip opening
- 23:05and it just releases all these emotions into my system I know
- 23:10just by laying there
- 23:11with a block under you right and it's just yeah I know it's I
- 23:15swear by yin yoga
- 23:16I put that alongside my microdosing practices and I suggest it
- 23:19to people and yeah,
- 23:22it's so powerful but you can feel at times that you just want
- 23:27to jump out of your
- 23:28SPEAKER_01: body because you can feel the resistance starting to move.
- 23:32SPEAKER_01: Microdosing kind of amplifies that a little bit.
- 23:35Yeah and then kind of just yeah and I feel like it was just a
- 23:38nice parallel because
- 23:39it is the same kind of thing it's like you have to have a
- 23:42pathway to open up
- 23:43yourself because sometimes we close ourselves and shut
- 23:46ourselves down so much and
- 23:47when we especially when we're in that reactive state that it's
- 23:51really hard to do
- 23:52the work you need to do and you need to find a kind of a
- 23:55doorway to open it so that
- 23:56SPEAKER_00: you in a gentle way not just throw it open because that is just going to
- 24:01Send You Into Superflight It's Like Whoa This Is Too Much Like
- 24:05I Can't Handle This
- 24:06Right Now And Much Like You Know Your Dreams Can Build Up In
- 24:09Intensity If You Keep
- 24:11Ignoring The Meaning And The Symbols Underneath It I Feel It's
- 24:14The Same Like As A
- 24:15SPEAKER_00: Reflection Of Like We Gotta Build Up Our Tolerance To
- 24:18being able to do the healing and do the work because all at
- 24:21once is going to throw
- 24:24SPEAKER_01: you sideways,
- 24:25SPEAKER_01: right?
- 24:25SPEAKER_01: We don't want it.
- 24:26SPEAKER_01: And I think that's part of our evolving.
- 24:29SPEAKER_01: Aren't we supposed to receive and
- 24:32SPEAKER_01: That's just part of it.
- 24:33SPEAKER_01: You receive what you're ready for.
- 24:34SPEAKER_00: Yes, exactly.
- 24:36I have a friend and he went through like two years worth of
- 24:40veils in one night and
- 24:42SPEAKER_00: he wasn't okay.
- 24:43Like he had like three or four healers working on him and he
- 24:46goes,
- 24:46I don't recommend it.
- 24:48SPEAKER_00: I guess this is what we're trying to contrast, right?
- 24:50Like it's better off doing it gradually and building it up and
- 24:54allowing your system
- 24:55SPEAKER_00: to regulate again rather than just throwing the switch and going...
- 25:01And I think like that's why microdosing I think is beautiful
- 25:05instead of these high
- 25:06SPEAKER_01: peak performances.
- 25:07I've had that happen to where so much has been received so
- 25:11quickly that the
- 25:12SPEAKER_01: uncomfortability of it,
- 25:13SPEAKER_01: it can fill because you're messing with your identity,
- 25:16SPEAKER_01: right?
- 25:16You're shifting your identity and to take that away so quickly,
- 25:19it almost feels like psychosis.
- 25:22And so with microdosing,
- 25:24you're almost preparing the vessel for that to unfold.
- 25:29SPEAKER_01: And so less is more is what I always say.
- 25:32SPEAKER_01: And even in the dream world,
- 25:33SPEAKER_01: we just did in my living dream,
- 25:35SPEAKER_01: we do PLRs and we did some soul timeline work.
- 25:39SPEAKER_01: And even just doing that was so powerful.
- 25:43SPEAKER_01: It took a moment for people to ground out of that.
- 25:46And so I can imagine what you're saying with your friend,
- 25:49just all that coming on.
- 25:51I'm glad he had healers around him to help because that but
- 25:54most people don't know.
- 25:57SPEAKER_00: And I guess this is where it's good to have a support team in place,
- 26:01SPEAKER_00: however that looks,
- 26:02SPEAKER_00: you know,
- 26:02SPEAKER_00: and,
- 26:03SPEAKER_00: you know,
- 26:03creating that beautiful space that you know you can go to when
- 26:07you're going through
- 26:08SPEAKER_00: something because sometimes you are ready for it,
- 26:10SPEAKER_00: but you just need a hand to hold you as you go through the thick of it.
- 26:15SPEAKER_01: The container, yeah.
- 26:16SPEAKER_01: A place to just feel like you can be safe.
- 26:19SPEAKER_01: That's what it was for me.
- 26:20I needed to know I was safe and all this weirdness that was
- 26:23happening was normal
- 26:25SPEAKER_01: and okay,
- 26:26SPEAKER_01: whatever normal is,
- 26:27SPEAKER_01: and that I was safe moving through it.
- 26:29That was key because if you're not,
- 26:32you're going to clench up and go into resistance.
- 26:34SPEAKER_00: Yeah.
- 26:35SPEAKER_01: And then nothing shifts.
- 26:38SPEAKER_01: Then you're just kind of like feeling really comfortable.
- 26:42SPEAKER_01: Yeah.
- 26:43So the container and having space hold by someone who is
- 26:46experienced and has been
- 26:48SPEAKER_01: through it themselves.
- 26:50SPEAKER_01: Yeah.
- 26:51SPEAKER_00: Yes.
- 26:51SPEAKER_00: I feel that's really important.
- 26:53someone that's been through it because you know there's a lot
- 26:56of I've talked about
- 26:57this before it's like you can't be a life coach if you just
- 27:00because you did a
- 27:01degree it doesn't mean that you can especially if you're 20 and
- 27:05you've had no
- 27:05trauma traumatic life experiences and I'm not saying everyone
- 27:08has to go through
- 27:09trauma but I know at 20 I didn't go through much it was apart
- 27:13from rebelling
- 27:14SPEAKER_00: against my parents maybe but apart from that like
- 27:18SPEAKER_00: You know,
- 27:18SPEAKER_00: you have to live life and you have your story,
- 27:21SPEAKER_00: but just because you do a certificate doesn't mean that that's it.
- 27:24So trust people who have lived experience and what they've been
- 27:27through as well.
- 27:28SPEAKER_01: Yeah, there's no textbook for it.
- 27:30SPEAKER_01: Now 20, I have a lot of experiences that were pretty uncomfortable.
- 27:35SPEAKER_01: However, at age 20, I was still in the thick of it.
- 27:39SPEAKER_01: Like there's no way.
- 27:40SPEAKER_01: Yeah, I would not at age 20 have probably been your best guide.
- 27:44SPEAKER_01: I was still figuring myself out.
- 27:49And I'm not disaccounting those 20 year olds who are incredibly
- 27:52old souls and been
- 27:53SPEAKER_00: through so much by the time they get there.
- 27:54SPEAKER_00: I'm not saying that.
- 27:55I'm just saying just because you do a certificate doesn't mean
- 27:58you're a master in
- 27:59SPEAKER_00: whatever it is you've done.
- 28:01SPEAKER_01: No, agreed.
- 28:02SPEAKER_01: Agreed.
- 28:04SPEAKER_01: I know a lot of evolved 20 years old.
- 28:08SPEAKER_00: Yeah.
- 28:10SPEAKER_00: And as we start to finish our time together,
- 28:12SPEAKER_00: Linda,
- 28:12SPEAKER_00: I asked the guests that come on the show,
- 28:14SPEAKER_00: if you could heal or change something in the world,
- 28:17SPEAKER_00: what would it be?
- 28:19SPEAKER_01: For us to really realize,
- 28:22SPEAKER_01: we do not realize how powerful we are in here and we keep outsourcing.
- 28:26SPEAKER_01: So to really begin to listen to ourselves,
- 28:31SPEAKER_01: remember who we are at the heart,
- 28:34SPEAKER_01: at the core,
- 28:35SPEAKER_01: and remain curious about that.
- 28:37SPEAKER_01: There's no right or wrong way.
- 28:38And to realize that we have everything we need right here and
- 28:43we keep going out here.
- 28:44SPEAKER_01: It needs to come in here.
- 28:45SPEAKER_01: 100%.
- 28:46SPEAKER_00: Yeah.
- 28:48And if people want to come and work with you Linda or find out
- 28:51more about your
- 28:51SPEAKER_00: living dream course where can they go?
- 28:54To my website and I also just developed a really cool tool I've
- 28:58been working on it
- 28:59for the last year and it's a dream decoder so you can go in for
- 29:02free right now and
- 29:03SPEAKER_01: put your dream in and it'll give you how I would work with your dream
- 29:08and it'll pick out symbols it'll tell you what to work on what
- 29:12to incubate possibly
- 29:13in your next stream so it's a super cool tool and then yeah I
- 29:18have a dream series
- 29:19that you can just work on your own with too so there's some
- 29:23some different ways
- 29:23SPEAKER_00: amazing and I'll make sure to pop that in the show notes and
- 29:27SPEAKER_00: That is very cool.
- 29:28SPEAKER_00: You've created a dream, Dakota.
- 29:30I used to have an app that you could look up like symbols in
- 29:33your dream and that sort of thing.
- 29:34And it was okay,
- 29:35but sometimes it was helpful to try and put together if it was
- 29:38really weird.
- 29:39SPEAKER_01: Oh, you have to try this one.
- 29:41SPEAKER_00: Okay, I will.
- 29:41SPEAKER_00: Try it, yeah.
- 29:42SPEAKER_00: Because I'm curious.
- 29:43SPEAKER_01: It's a whole weaving on you.
- 29:45SPEAKER_01: And I'm super passionate about it because I spent so much time,
- 29:48SPEAKER_01: I spent a year kind of creating it.
- 29:51SPEAKER_01: So it was my voice and me.
- 29:53SPEAKER_01: And yeah, so it's kind of, I love it.
- 29:57SPEAKER_00: Amazing.
- 29:59SPEAKER_00: Amazing.
- 29:59SPEAKER_01: And so you should.
- 30:00SPEAKER_01: I'm excited to go play with it.
- 30:03SPEAKER_01: And then everybody keep a journal by your bed.
