- 0:05Speaker 1: NFL now is a production of the NFL in partnership
- 0:08Speaker 1: with I heart radio. It's NFL now, NFL network. We
- 0:19Speaker 1: welcome you to our newsroom in Los Angeles. My name
- 0:22Speaker 1: is Andrews Siciliano. There is a lot going on coming
- 0:25Speaker 1: up this hour. We're gonna have the head coach of
- 0:28Speaker 1: the Las Vegas xfl franchise here and he's also hall
- 0:32Speaker 1: of Famer. Ron Woodson, his eight football life debuts on Friday.
- 0:37Speaker 1: Look forward to that conversation. Also, Joe Burrow is taking
- 0:40Speaker 1: twitter and instagram off his phone. Should you just thinking
- 0:43Speaker 1: out on that one? We begin with the Mike Evans News.
- 0:46Speaker 1: Kind of, sort of. As expected, he is still very
- 0:49Speaker 1: much suspended for his role in what the League says
- 0:54Speaker 1: really was the instigator in this fight between the bucks
- 0:57Speaker 1: and the saints this past Sunday. Appeal denied, suspension upheld.
- 1:04Speaker 1: So the bucks have some legit wide receiver questions as
- 1:07Speaker 1: they get ready for the Green Bay packers come into
- 1:10Speaker 1: town week three on Fox on Sunday afternoon and rappaport
- 1:13Speaker 1: and Mike Garret Folo here our insiders this hour on
- 1:17Speaker 1: NFL now. It was James Thrash, Mike, who said once again.
- 1:23Speaker 1: Mike Evans, you're suspended. Yes, James Thrash back in upheld
- 1:29Speaker 1: US suspension. James Thrash one more time, upholding a suspension
- 1:32Speaker 1: from Mike Evans, who will now be unavailable for the
- 1:35Speaker 1: game against the Green Bay packers, a game that could
- 1:38Speaker 1: be very meaningful in the NFC. We may look back
- 1:41Speaker 1: and say, Hey, when the packers beat the buccaneers back
- 1:44Speaker 1: in week three, that's the reason that a potential playoff
- 1:46Speaker 1: game is in Lambou instead of Raymond James and Mike
- 1:49Speaker 1: Evans wasn't available. I know I'm projecting here. I'm just
- 1:52Speaker 1: saying that this was a big decision by the NFL
- 1:55Speaker 1: and by James Thrash who, let's remind folks, is jointly
- 1:58Speaker 1: appointed by the NFL and the NFL Players Association. I
- 2:01Speaker 1: saw a statement out there from Mike Evans agent, Derek Gilmour,
- 2:04Speaker 1: who was very frustrated with the decision and the fact
- 2:07Speaker 1: that it was upheld. He said the league upheld it. No,
- 2:09Speaker 1: the League didn't uphold it. The League, Uh Levy the
- 2:12Speaker 1: initial suspension. James Thrash, jointly appointed by both the League
- 2:17Speaker 1: and the Union, upheld the suspension. It's a very important
- 2:20Speaker 1: point there. But regardless, I know Evans is frustrated because
- 2:23Speaker 1: he feels like, in his representation, feels like other players
- 2:26Speaker 1: have done worse and not been suspended. The fact that
- 2:29Speaker 1: he was ejected should have been enough of a punishment.
- 2:32Speaker 1: In this case, both the League and James Thrash deciding no,
- 2:35Speaker 1: that wasn't good enough. One more game for Mike Evans. Alright,
- 2:40Speaker 1: so Mike Evans, one more game. He's gonna get suspended.
- 2:43Speaker 1: He's gonna miss the game here coming up against the
- 2:47Speaker 1: Green Bay packers on Sunday. Let's get to another team
- 2:49Speaker 1: wearing green here, Ian Rappaport those would be the jets.
- 2:53Speaker 1: They are one and one after beating the Browns, they
- 2:55Speaker 1: get the bengals this week and if somehow they can
- 2:57Speaker 1: beat the reigning a F C champions, they would be
- 3:01Speaker 1: above five hundred through three games for the first time
- 3:05Speaker 1: since twenty true story is Zach Wilson helped right around
- 3:10Speaker 1: the corner. I thought it was gonna be longer. He
- 3:13Speaker 1: kind of the build up there. I thought it was
- 3:15Speaker 1: gonna be like since nineteen years. We're only talking about
- 3:21Speaker 1: three games, like they haven't won two out of three
- 3:22Speaker 1: to open the season. In seven years. Yeah, I just
- 3:26Speaker 1: expected more. Anyway, let's get to the jets and Jack Wilson,
- 3:29Speaker 1: because the expectation is is that you used it. Don't
- 3:33Speaker 1: put their research under. The expectation is that Zach Wilson
- 3:37Speaker 1: is expected to ramp up this week. The a little
- 3:40Speaker 1: seven on seven last week. Gonna do more this week,
- 3:42Speaker 1: coming back not just from a meniscus but from a
- 3:45Speaker 1: bone bruise as well, and the two injuries made it
- 3:48Speaker 1: more complicated for him and forced him to get off
- 3:50Speaker 1: his feet and just took a little longer. Six weeks
- 3:53Speaker 1: was from surgery. was expected to be the time when
- 3:56Speaker 1: Zach Wilson would be able to go out there with
- 3:58Speaker 1: no risk to himself. That is coming. So if he
- 4:02Speaker 1: makes it through this week, all good. I would expect
- 4:04Speaker 1: him to practice fully next week and the imposition, assuming
- 4:08Speaker 1: they take in the imposition, to start in week four. Yes,
- 4:11Speaker 1: Zach Wilson not playing football to start the season Ian
- 4:14Speaker 1: for the first time since nineteen ninety nine. I don't know,
- 4:17Speaker 1: I'm just that's the year he was born. By the way,
- 4:19Speaker 1: we were nineteen years old at the time. You and I.
- 4:21Speaker 1: I mean that makes me feel really old, but I'm
- 4:23Speaker 1: just trying to throw a date out there that would
- 4:26Speaker 1: impress you. That's what this is all about for Zach Wilsoneah, young, young,
- 4:31Speaker 1: since you're we did the math on your age last week.
- 4:35Speaker 1: Moving on, it's not doing again. I'm just saying when
- 4:38Speaker 1: you say how old we are, it's how young we
- 4:40Speaker 1: are in comparison. Uh No, but Zack Wilson just being
- 4:44Speaker 1: available the last couple of weeks and practicing while he
- 4:47Speaker 1: was not playing was key. There were some things that,
- 4:50Speaker 1: you know, he needed to brush up on. There were
- 4:52Speaker 1: some rough patches in the spring and training camp, so
- 4:55Speaker 1: this was a good way to get him involved, keep
- 4:57Speaker 1: him involved while getting ready. So let's see how Zach
- 5:00Speaker 1: Wilson plays when he gets back out there. They need
- 5:02Speaker 1: him to hit the ground running, even to build some
- 5:04Speaker 1: confidence in certainly improved on some of the numbers from
- 5:07Speaker 1: a year ago. NOT SINCE ONE IAN has Zack Wilson
- 5:11Speaker 1: played in all, actually, probably two in January, a meaningful game.
- 5:15Speaker 1: So not since earlier this year. Ian. Okay, I just
- 5:18Speaker 1: want to apologize to Lo Quantum. There's doing a great
- 5:20Speaker 1: job in research. I was just, you know, cracking a joke.
- 5:24Speaker 1: Let's get to the titans, because offensively. They have um
- 5:28Speaker 1: not been doing such a great job. I've been opening
- 5:30Speaker 1: drive was nice on Monday night, but then after that nothing.
- 5:32Speaker 1: What Mike Rabel have to say yesterday, Mike About about
- 5:35Speaker 1: his staff? Mike Brabel standing by his guys. Now I'm
- 5:40Speaker 1: just looking this up here. The offensive rank for this team.
- 5:43Speaker 1: Twenty eight in points right now, twenty nine in yards.
- 5:46Speaker 1: Last year fifteen and seventeen. The year before when they
- 5:49Speaker 1: had Arthur Smith, ranked four in points, two in yards.
- 5:53Speaker 1: But Mike Rabels, saying we're not going to make these
- 5:55Speaker 1: changes right now, still believes in his coaching staff. An
- 5:57Speaker 1: offensive coordinator, Todd Downing. Look, they've just made some mistakes
- 6:02Speaker 1: going along here, whether it's been penalties or mental miss
- 6:05Speaker 1: stakes or whatnot, that I took him out of the
- 6:07Speaker 1: Buffalo Game. There there was a time early in that
- 6:09Speaker 1: game I don't wind up being a blowout, but they
- 6:11Speaker 1: were kind of hanging in there and I said this
- 6:13Speaker 1: game is kind of going the way the titans wanted
- 6:15Speaker 1: it to go, and all of a sudden the wheels
- 6:17Speaker 1: fell off. So rabel going back and saying well, we
- 6:20Speaker 1: liked the plan coming in, we liked the execution in
- 6:22Speaker 1: both games. Early we've just got to continue it through
- 6:25Speaker 1: fourth quarters, through four quarters, excuse me. So that's why
- 6:28Speaker 1: Rabel standing by his coaching staff right now saying there
- 6:31Speaker 1: will be no changes, but if the struggles continue, Jack
- 6:34Speaker 1: Back Andrew. Yeah, and the fact that you know, reporters
- 6:38Speaker 1: are already asking about the status of the offensive coordinator,
- 6:41Speaker 1: Todd Downing, not a great sign. Clearly need to write
- 6:43Speaker 1: it pretty quick. But there's also so much of those
- 6:45Speaker 1: going on here, much more so than the offensive coordinator
- 6:48Speaker 1: of Ryan Tannehill, who is, you know, I would say,
- 6:50Speaker 1: struggled a little bit in the first couple of games.
- 6:52Speaker 1: You Have Malik Willis, the rookie who impressed every one
- 6:54Speaker 1: of the preseason, just waiting there. You also have a
- 6:57Speaker 1: team that traded a true number one receiver and a
- 7:00Speaker 1: J Brown, who ended up getting paid a huge sum
- 7:02Speaker 1: of money from the Eagles and then drafted to who
- 7:05Speaker 1: they always replacement, trailing Burke's who has been impressive but
- 7:08Speaker 1: hasn't exactly been what Aj has been just yet. Seems
- 7:11Speaker 1: to be a team maybe in a little bit more
- 7:12Speaker 1: of a transition than we realized. You know, at the
- 7:16Speaker 1: outset right Um, without a J Brown, they are playing
- 7:20Speaker 1: a different style of football, if you take away Derrick Henry,
- 7:23Speaker 1: which is obviously far easier said than Mike quickly here
- 7:26Speaker 1: in Washington. What a what a great scene today on
- 7:30Speaker 1: the practice field for the commanders. Bryan Robinson back to
- 7:34Speaker 1: practice for the first time. We're listing him knee and
- 7:37Speaker 1: hip injuries there. As you see on your screen, it
- 7:39Speaker 1: was that bullet that went through his knee when he
- 7:42Speaker 1: was shot in an attempted robbery in Washington d C
- 7:45Speaker 1: right before the start of the season, a season that
- 7:48Speaker 1: we expected to be a big rookie season for the
- 7:52Speaker 1: young man who was so impressive during the summer looked
- 7:54Speaker 1: like he was destined to be the commander's starting running back.
- 7:57Speaker 1: Still might, still might be soon. I know they had
- 7:59Speaker 1: targeted right around week five potentially for his return as
- 8:03Speaker 1: he works his way back. So let's see how quickly
- 8:06Speaker 1: Brian Robinson can get up to speed. Remember that bullet
- 8:08Speaker 1: that went through his knee. Very fortunate that it avoided
- 8:11Speaker 1: all of the major parts of his knee. That could
- 8:14Speaker 1: have resulted in major structural damage. Brian Robinson, very fortunate
- 8:18Speaker 1: continues to stick to the timeline that we talked about.
- 8:20Speaker 1: That may have seen overly optimistic, but he's on it
- 8:23Speaker 1: right now. Back on the field today and Ashburn on
- 8:25Speaker 1: what the team announced is now known as the Ortho
- 8:29Speaker 1: Virginia Training Center at Ashbourn, Virginia. Brian Robinson on the
- 8:33Speaker 1: field at said training center. Thank you, Mike. Thank you.
- 8:36Speaker 1: I sweeping lipside touchdown, your chop. I'm gonna striped at
- 8:46Speaker 1: the thirty hunt flaps three touchdown. He's got two of
- 8:53Speaker 1: the flat pass touchdown. MOGY, Harris, miles killen buried him. Man,
- 8:58Speaker 1: even a cringe UN back don't to feel good. Browns
- 9:05Speaker 1: and steelers always feels good, especially if you're a steelers fan.
- 9:09Speaker 1: If you're browns, paying kind of anxious this week. But
- 9:11Speaker 1: it's prime time tomorrow. It's the Browns, it's the steelers,
- 9:14Speaker 1: it's the A F C and eorth it's in Cleveland.
- 9:16Speaker 1: It's the steelers trying to get their offense rolling as well.
- 9:19Speaker 1: There's that. Often times when you're in Thursday night ball,
- 9:24Speaker 1: you lean heavily on those things. But I would imagine
- 9:27Speaker 1: you know, all thirty two teams are still very much
- 9:29Speaker 1: in development in those areas and so that makes Thursday
- 9:32Speaker 1: night more challenging. It makes Thursday night more challenging from
- 9:35Speaker 1: a decision making standpoint in terms of what it is
- 9:38Speaker 1: that you want to do, and it makes it more
- 9:40Speaker 1: challenging in terms of being able to anticipate or or
- 9:43Speaker 1: have an appropriate level of readiness or what's your opponent.
- 9:45Speaker 1: I'm not worried about mistakes, Um, you all. I do
- 9:49Speaker 1: think about protecting the football and being smart and making
- 9:51Speaker 1: good decisions. Not Worried about mistakes. That's happening, Um. But
- 9:55Speaker 1: as an offense, we just gotta score more points. So
- 9:57Speaker 1: how would we do that? That's that's gonna be our mindset.
- 9:59Speaker 1: Score more points. Yeah, he's a really good quarterback and
- 10:02Speaker 1: I saw him a lot when I was in Minnesota
- 10:03Speaker 1: and he was in Chicago. He's very, very athletic. I
- 10:06Speaker 1: mean he can really move around, make plays with his feet,
- 10:09Speaker 1: he can take off and run and he can throw
- 10:11Speaker 1: while scrambling. So I think they do a nice job
- 10:13Speaker 1: of utilizing has athleticism. Uh, they have skill players really
- 10:18Speaker 1: all over the field outside inside. That can hurt you.
- 10:22Speaker 1: Skilled players who have not made a lot of big
- 10:25Speaker 1: plays so far. Tom Pellicero, Bucky Brooks with me now
- 10:28Speaker 1: to a little t and F conversation here. Tom Start
- 10:31Speaker 1: with you you are in Cleveland, where a lot of
- 10:33Speaker 1: the talk this week. When they're not talking about booze
- 10:35Speaker 1: or whether or not Nick Chubb should have gone down
- 10:37Speaker 1: on the one yard line, it's the busted coverages. You
- 10:40Speaker 1: had him against Carolina, Baker Mayfield a couple of big
- 10:42Speaker 1: plays there in the second APP and you had that
- 10:45Speaker 1: just stunning defensive breakdown as well, and the Corey Davis
- 10:49Speaker 1: touchdown of the fourth quarter. You were there for that.
- 10:51Speaker 1: What are they saying about how to fix that? Well, Andrew,
- 10:56Speaker 1: you're right. There are a lot of things that went
- 10:57Speaker 1: wrong that allowed the jets to claw their way back
- 11:00Speaker 1: from down thirteen the final two minutes, but the busted
- 11:03Speaker 1: coverage on Corey Davis, is long touched down, was a
- 11:05Speaker 1: huge part of it and it's now a repeat era error.
- 11:08Speaker 1: I've talked to linebacker Anthony Walker JR yesterday. He had
- 11:11Speaker 1: been kind of in a state of shock after the
- 11:12Speaker 1: game on Sunday. Put It on himself for not communicating
- 11:15Speaker 1: the calls, and I asked him short week, have you
- 11:17Speaker 1: really had time to talk among the players about how
- 11:20Speaker 1: we're gonna clean this up? He said yes, and it
- 11:22Speaker 1: really it just is about communication here. Whether that is
- 11:25Speaker 1: from him in the in the huddle, whether that is
- 11:28Speaker 1: along the defensive backs. Everybody's got to do a better
- 11:30Speaker 1: job communicating. It's one of many things that they're trying
- 11:33Speaker 1: to clean up in a week where you heard Mr
- 11:35Speaker 1: r Bisky say it himself. Do you think that he
- 11:37Speaker 1: thinks there are opportunities for them to push the football
- 11:39Speaker 1: down the field more than they have been, especially to
- 11:41Speaker 1: George pickens sucking? You know, the number more thing that
- 11:44Speaker 1: you can do to eliminate some of that is to
- 11:46Speaker 1: simplify play, basic coverages, things that are what we call
- 11:50Speaker 1: day one install coverages. Until the defensive backs no one job.
- 11:53Speaker 1: Just don't let the ball flow over your head, keep
- 11:55Speaker 1: the ball in front. Do those things. To me, it
- 11:57Speaker 1: is something that you can't clean up in a short week,
- 12:00Speaker 1: but it takes the coordinator and the defensive back coaches
- 12:03Speaker 1: to be on the same page. Hey, well, let's do
- 12:05Speaker 1: was best for the players. Let's make sure these guys
- 12:07Speaker 1: on the same page and as they get confident doing
- 12:09Speaker 1: the small things, then we can start building it out
- 12:12Speaker 1: as we get later into the year. What's so frustrating,
- 12:14Speaker 1: as Tefanski basically said, we told him on the sideline,
- 12:17Speaker 1: nothing's getting over your head. You can't do it here
- 12:19Speaker 1: and then it happens again. Okay, that said, let's get
- 12:24Speaker 1: back to the steelers here Tom and their offensive struggles here.
- 12:28Speaker 1: How do they get Naji Harris Rolling this week? What
- 12:30Speaker 1: are they saying about that? That's a great question, h Andrew,
- 12:35Speaker 1: because at this point Naji Harrister two games, carries for
- 12:39Speaker 1: seventy two yards. That's simply not the formula for the
- 12:41Speaker 1: steelers to have success on offense. Now, remember Naji has
- 12:44Speaker 1: been dealing with a foot issue since back in the
- 12:47Speaker 1: preseason and in training camp he banged it up again
- 12:50Speaker 1: in week one. You have to wonder to what extent
- 12:53Speaker 1: are they being cautious right now with Naji Harris in
- 12:55Speaker 1: terms of how much workload they're giving him now, coming
- 12:59Speaker 1: up on a short week, how quickly is he able
- 13:01Speaker 1: to respond physically here? We'll find out on Thursday night.
- 13:04Speaker 1: But as much as focused as there is on Mitch
- 13:06Speaker 1: travisky and whether to what extent they potentially could make
- 13:09Speaker 1: a quarterback change, knowing how well rookie Kenny Pickett played
- 13:12Speaker 1: in the preseason, this offense, Bucky, is built around being
- 13:15Speaker 1: able to run the football. With Naji Harris and they
- 13:17Speaker 1: simply haven't done it enough or effectively enough. Yeah, time,
- 13:22Speaker 1: you're right. This team has to run the football, because
- 13:24Speaker 1: running the football plays to the identity that I believe
- 13:27Speaker 1: Mike Tomley wants to have for the team. Run the ball,
- 13:29Speaker 1: played great defense, find a way to take the ball
- 13:31Speaker 1: the way and then minimize the turnovers offensively and so nausea.
- 13:35Speaker 1: Harris is a big part of that. So he has
- 13:38Speaker 1: to have more opportunity when he's ready to show a
- 13:40Speaker 1: bigger workload. But really, up front, their office and line
- 13:44Speaker 1: has to do a better job of dominating at a
- 13:45Speaker 1: point of attack. When they do that, it makes it
- 13:47Speaker 1: easy for anybody to run, and it's not just Naja Harris.
- 13:50Speaker 1: All right, Bucky, when they have a game at the
- 13:52Speaker 1: dog pound coming up, do you actually have a dog
- 13:55Speaker 1: for effect behind you and barking? Yeah, Luna's ready and
- 13:58Speaker 1: she's ready and she knows that it's coming. She's ready
- 14:01Speaker 1: to get ready. She she wants the Little Elf too,
- 14:03Speaker 1: so I might have to put that on the little
- 14:05Speaker 1: dog color to get it right that. That's fantastic. Did you?
- 14:07Speaker 1: Did you bring the dog into this just for the
- 14:10Speaker 1: set up for this game? You should do this every
- 14:11Speaker 1: Thursday or Wednesday. Bucket that Thursday game some kind of
- 14:14Speaker 1: like in stadium, feel in your house. Absolutely, I'll work
- 14:19Speaker 1: on the show needs more dogs. Tom Bring Doug next week.
- 14:23Speaker 1: Thank you, guys, Tom and Bucky. All right, let's get
- 14:27Speaker 1: here to the bucks and the UH and the packers
- 14:29Speaker 1: coming up on Sunday. We know by now Mike Evans
- 14:33Speaker 1: is not gonna play in that game. His suspension today
- 14:36Speaker 1: was up held by James Thrash. So, Matt Lafleur, how
- 14:40Speaker 1: does that change things? How much we gotta we got
- 14:43Speaker 1: enough to worry about and they got a lot of
- 14:45Speaker 1: playmakers over there and and really in every phase and
- 14:48Speaker 1: great coaches and it's gonna be a great challenge. So
- 14:52Speaker 1: you know, we only worry about the things that we
- 14:54Speaker 1: can control and that's totally out of our control. So
- 14:58Speaker 1: I mean, it doesn't impact us at all. Anytime you
- 15:02Speaker 1: have Aaron, you're gonna have a formula ball offense, a
- 15:04Speaker 1: so smart and it's so so sharp and pinpoint. He
- 15:07Speaker 1: makes other players better. They got some young receivers with
- 15:09Speaker 1: a lot of talent. They got some vets there and
- 15:12Speaker 1: cabbed and Sammy and they do a good job as well.
- 15:14Speaker 1: So you know, like us, they're trying to get in
- 15:16Speaker 1: sync too and win some games while they do it.
- 15:18Speaker 1: So you know, whoever makes the least mistakes or win
- 15:21Speaker 1: the game. All right, those are your two coaches and
- 15:23Speaker 1: the podium here as we get ready for Aaron Rodgers
- 15:25Speaker 1: and Tom Brady. Yet another chapter. I'm gonna translate everything
- 15:29Speaker 1: on the screen here. Basically, hear, what we're saying is
- 15:32Speaker 1: that when these two quarterbacks meet in the regular season,
- 15:35Speaker 1: that Tom Brady goes on to win the Super Bowl.
- 15:39Speaker 1: Do with this, what you choose, all right. When they
- 15:42Speaker 1: meet the regular season, Brady goes on to win the
- 15:44Speaker 1: Super Bowl. Seeve Watch back at the desk with Bab
- 15:46Speaker 1: just you know, fun facts for you at the Water Cooler,
- 15:49Speaker 1: if your office still has a water cooler. Maybe you're
- 15:53Speaker 1: talking about the wide receivers white at that water cooler,
- 15:55Speaker 1: because last week we're talking about the rookies and Aaron
- 15:58Speaker 1: Rodgers not on the same page with his guys, dubs
- 16:00Speaker 1: or Watson or whomever. This week we're talking about the bucks.
- 16:03Speaker 1: They have nobody healthy and Mike Evans is suspended. Two
- 16:06Speaker 1: very different yeah, look, you're absolutely talking about the wide
- 16:08Speaker 1: receivers in this game and Aaron Rodgers, who we've been
- 16:10Speaker 1: saying all season. The packers meant who's gonna catch the ball.
- 16:14Speaker 1: They may actually have the deeper wide receiver crew coming
- 16:17Speaker 1: into this game because of the suspension of injuries for
- 16:19Speaker 1: the Buccaneers, which is going to be intriguing. As to
- 16:22Speaker 1: WHO's going to run the ball better, we saw the
- 16:25Speaker 1: Green Bay packers last week just gash the Chicago bears
- 16:28Speaker 1: with Aaron Jones and a j dillon, both of whom
- 16:30Speaker 1: can catch the ball out of the backfield as well.
- 16:33Speaker 1: But the buccaneers have been running the ball as well,
- 16:34Speaker 1: which is something they don't do. They're running a fifty
- 16:37Speaker 1: run pass split. So again it's gonna be which defense
- 16:40Speaker 1: can hold up and which one can and the buccaneers
- 16:43Speaker 1: run defense, Andrew has been much better than the pack
- 16:46Speaker 1: the packers run defense over the first two games. But
- 16:49Speaker 1: I don't think it's gonna be a secret to any
- 16:51Speaker 1: of these coordinators at some point of the game that
- 16:54Speaker 1: these quarterbacks are going to make plays. It's gonna be
- 16:56Speaker 1: which of the receivers step up and makes the plays.
- 16:59Speaker 1: And if you've been watching the packers, some of those
- 17:01Speaker 1: young guys are coming along definitely first time first time
- 17:05Speaker 1: we'll ever have a game with both quarterbacks holding three
- 17:10Speaker 1: MVP trophies. Is Tom Brady and Aaron Rodgers meet again
- 17:14Speaker 1: coming up in Tampa. Coming up? The latest on Justin Herbert?
- 17:19Speaker 1: How is he six days after the rib cartilage injury
- 17:24Speaker 1: in Kansas City? Like nine? So how about the Jacksonville Jaguars?
- 17:32Speaker 1: Got Themselves a win last week, got themselves a shutout victory,
- 17:37Speaker 1: blanking the Indianapolis Colts, and Trevor Lawrence looked like the
- 17:42Speaker 1: real deal. A couple of touchdowns manage the game. How
- 17:47Speaker 1: about that, Doug Peterson? The more you can execute the
- 17:51Speaker 1: same play, you know guys know exactly where to be. Um,
- 17:55Speaker 1: you know you can tweak the personnel or tweak the
- 17:57Speaker 1: formation whatever, but you know, uh, there's some consistency there
- 18:01Speaker 1: with with keeping it keeping it simple. That way. I'm
- 18:04Speaker 1: all so a believer that. You know, you gotta keep
- 18:06Speaker 1: challenging your players with new new ideas, new thoughts, new
- 18:09Speaker 1: wrinkles throughout the week, things that you can take maybe
- 18:12Speaker 1: advantage of, you know, in the game plan. But yeah,
- 18:16Speaker 1: it gets as the season goes on, more more films
- 18:18Speaker 1: out there on every team, obviously, and the same way
- 18:21Speaker 1: with our opponents each week and you know, it does
- 18:24Speaker 1: get a touch harder to game plan. But Um, you know,
- 18:27Speaker 1: it's our job to find creative ways to move our
- 18:30Speaker 1: guys around move their guys around in l a against
- 18:33Speaker 1: the chargers and against a team that has a banged
- 18:37Speaker 1: up quarterback. When last we saw Justin Herbert, he was wincing.
- 18:41Speaker 1: It was painful to watch, painful to watch him deal with.
- 18:46Speaker 1: What we learned the next day was a rib cartilage injury.
- 18:51Speaker 1: Bridget condon with us live now in Costa Mesa, as
- 18:54Speaker 1: the chargers getting ready for the Jaguars Sunday at so fi. Bridget,
- 18:58Speaker 1: what's the latest? What do we know about Herbert Andrew?
- 19:00Speaker 1: We are in a wait and see period. Justin Herbert
- 19:03Speaker 1: has a fracture to his rib cartilage. Brandon Staley says
- 19:06Speaker 1: he believes that's better than having a fracture to his bone.
- 19:09Speaker 1: He wanted to take the weekend, let Justin Herbert Relax,
- 19:12Speaker 1: then bring him back in Monday and Tuesday and see
- 19:14Speaker 1: where he is. I can tell you a source in
- 19:17Speaker 1: the building told me that Justin Herbert was in here
- 19:19Speaker 1: yesterday doing what he normally does on a Tuesday, lifting
- 19:22Speaker 1: weights and watching film and he also was throwing. This
- 19:25Speaker 1: is good news just five days after that injury. Of
- 19:28Speaker 1: course he was just in a t shirt and shorts,
- 19:30Speaker 1: no helmet, no contact, but he was throwing. Didn't look
- 19:34Speaker 1: like he was invisible pain. Looked like the same old
- 19:36Speaker 1: Justin Herbert and I was talking to our own Kurt
- 19:38Speaker 1: Warner about this injury. He suffered similar injuries and I
- 19:41Speaker 1: was asking him about that rib cartilage. He said what's
- 19:44Speaker 1: tricky with the cartilage is it's everything you do right,
- 19:46Speaker 1: if you twist, if you cough, if you move, and
- 19:49Speaker 1: so for a quarterback, when you're throwing, when you're engaging
- 19:51Speaker 1: your core, you can feel it in every place. So
- 19:54Speaker 1: he said it's kind of like when you roll your ankle.
- 19:55Speaker 1: What's the healing process for that? Well, it's to rest it.
- 19:58Speaker 1: But as a quarterback again, you can't just not use
- 20:01Speaker 1: your core. So it's going to be about managing that pain.
- 20:03Speaker 1: One thing he also said that was interesting is some
- 20:06Speaker 1: points it can be so strong the pain completely takes
- 20:09Speaker 1: over your body and then the next minute you cannot
- 20:11Speaker 1: feel it. And we saw that Thursday night Justin Herbert
- 20:14Speaker 1: on that third down play. Couldn't really do anything, just
- 20:16Speaker 1: throw the ball away and then that very next play
- 20:19Speaker 1: he was able to throw a thirty five yard pass
- 20:21Speaker 1: to Deandre Carter. So this week it'll really be about
- 20:25Speaker 1: how much they use him. We will get a chance
- 20:27Speaker 1: to talk with Brandon Staley in a couple of hours
- 20:30Speaker 1: before practice and see what the plan is to manage
- 20:32Speaker 1: that pain. But again, a good news that he was
- 20:35Speaker 1: out here throwing yesterday and good news for them that
- 20:38Speaker 1: they have a little extra time to heal. Last week
- 20:41Speaker 1: was a Thursday game in Kansas City. There a couple
- 20:43Speaker 1: other injuries, bridget who else? Yeah, so key part of
- 20:48Speaker 1: their offensive line, which is gonna be huge and keeping
- 20:50Speaker 1: Justin Herbert protected in that game comes Sunday the center,
- 20:54Speaker 1: Corey Lindsley. He left the game late in the first
- 20:56Speaker 1: half against the chiefs. Brandon Staley said it's a knee injury.
- 20:59Speaker 1: It's kind of the bottom of the quad where it
- 21:01Speaker 1: meets the knee. He said he just needed an injection
- 21:04Speaker 1: to calm it down. He does expect him to be
- 21:06Speaker 1: on the practice field at some point this week. Remember,
- 21:09Speaker 1: this is a guy who when they signed him before
- 21:11Speaker 1: last season at the time they made him the highest
- 21:14Speaker 1: paid position, highest paid player at his position. So a
- 21:17Speaker 1: lot of value in the center, Corey Linsley, and then
- 21:20Speaker 1: right tackle, Trey Pipkins is dealing with the lateral foot spring.
- 21:23Speaker 1: He's Day to day, but Joey Bosa had the same
- 21:26Speaker 1: injury last year. Brandon Saley said it's similar to that,
- 21:28Speaker 1: and remember Joey Bosa did not miss a game with
- 21:31Speaker 1: that injury. I have to wonder how the old line
- 21:33Speaker 1: injuries affect any decision to play Herbert on Sunday against
- 21:37Speaker 1: a very good Jacksonville front seven. Thank you, bridge of condon.
- 21:40Speaker 1: Live there with the chargers. Now a Wednesday traditional. Unlike
- 21:45Speaker 1: any other. Nick shook US here. He has all shook up.
- 21:49Speaker 1: He writes about underdogs every week on NFL DOT com.
- 21:52Speaker 1: High there, Nick. Let's talk about the dolphins and the
- 21:54Speaker 1: bills here. As draftkings has the dolphins is a five
- 21:59Speaker 1: and a half point underdog. What do you like about
- 22:02Speaker 1: Miami this week? So I assigned confidence points to this
- 22:06Speaker 1: and this gets my second most confidence points and not
- 22:09Speaker 1: number one, despite what too it did last week, because
- 22:12Speaker 1: Josh Allen's on the other side of the field and
- 22:14Speaker 1: on the other side of the equation. It's very difficult
- 22:16Speaker 1: to keep up with these bills. But, as to a
- 22:18Speaker 1: displayed last week, this offense has the weapons to do it.
- 22:21Speaker 1: Six touchdown passes he had. You have Jalen, while you
- 22:24Speaker 1: have Pyrie kill, you have a vertical attack that they
- 22:27Speaker 1: haven't seen in Miami since the days of Dan Marina.
- 22:29Speaker 1: So I think that they have the ability to keep
- 22:31Speaker 1: up with Buffalo. And if that's the case and some
- 22:34Speaker 1: weird things happen, maybe they get a turnover too, they'll
- 22:37Speaker 1: have a chance to win this game. All right, how
- 22:40Speaker 1: about that one? I personally am concerned about Miami's past defense.
- 22:45Speaker 1: Given up nine yards, you know, per completion and all that,
- 22:48Speaker 1: but that's that's just me. Let's fast forward to Monday night,
- 22:51Speaker 1: where somehow the New York football giants, hats off to them,
- 22:53Speaker 1: Brian Day ball and company, come in at two and
- 22:56Speaker 1: Oh and Dallas on the road. The Dallas Cowboys on
- 23:01Speaker 1: the road against the New York giants are, according to
- 23:04Speaker 1: a draft king, is a two and a half point dog.
- 23:06Speaker 1: What do you like about the cowboys? Cowboys are a
- 23:09Speaker 1: team that have dominated the giants since two thousands seventeen.
- 23:12Speaker 1: They've only lost once in those matchups. But Cooper rush
- 23:15Speaker 1: is playing quarterbacks, so you think well, playing fields definitely even.
- 23:18Speaker 1: Giants are two and Oh, cooper rush also just got
- 23:21Speaker 1: a victory. So what's more surprising the fact that Cooper
- 23:23Speaker 1: rush got that win last week or that the giants
- 23:25Speaker 1: are undefeated through two weeks? I actually say it's the latter,
- 23:28Speaker 1: and the reason is, well, it's still the giants. There's
- 23:30Speaker 1: still a team kind of on the up and up.
- 23:32Speaker 1: They beat the titans in the panthers not exactly the
- 23:34Speaker 1: greatest opponent. I think the most important part about this
- 23:37Speaker 1: and why I like the cowboys is not because of
- 23:39Speaker 1: how cooper rush played at quarterback last week. It's Micah Parsons.
- 23:42Speaker 1: What do we know about these giants and Daniel Jones?
- 23:45Speaker 1: If you get after him and take advantage of the
- 23:47Speaker 1: offensive line, which looks better now than it did in
- 23:48Speaker 1: years past, and forced Daniel Jones some pressure situations, he's
- 23:52Speaker 1: gonna make mistakes. He's four known his last four home starts.
- 23:55Speaker 1: Hasn't thrown a pick in any of those games. I
- 23:58Speaker 1: hate to say it, Andrew, but I think he's doing
- 23:59Speaker 1: I think Parsons gonna be the one to force one
- 24:01Speaker 1: or maybe two that the cowboys capitalize on and get
- 24:04Speaker 1: a road win here. Like a Parson's five games in
- 24:06Speaker 1: his young career already with two or more sacks. Nick.
- 24:10Speaker 1: Let's move on to America's sweethearts, the Detroit Lions, who
- 24:14Speaker 1: got their first win last week for Dan Campbell and
- 24:16Speaker 1: Jared Goff in your two. They get the vikings short
- 24:20Speaker 1: week one and one. Detroit is a six point underdog here,
- 24:23Speaker 1: according to draft kings. What do you like about the lions? Yeah,
- 24:26Speaker 1: that seems a little crazy, and the reason reason is
- 24:28Speaker 1: is who are these vikings? Are they the team that
- 24:30Speaker 1: beat the packers in week one to seven, or are
- 24:33Speaker 1: they the team that got dominated on a Monday night
- 24:35Speaker 1: by the Eagles? The Eagles a team that the lions
- 24:37Speaker 1: kept paced with at home all the way to the
- 24:40Speaker 1: end at Ford field. Now the lions are hitting the
- 24:42Speaker 1: road for the first time this season. But I love
- 24:44Speaker 1: the Dan Campbell team. They're scrappy, they fight. They might
- 24:47Speaker 1: fight a kneecap offer two, as he predicted last year.
- 24:50Speaker 1: They're going to be in a game from start to
- 24:52Speaker 1: finish out of sheer will, and I also like their talent.
- 24:54Speaker 1: They're more explosive than I think we anticipated. Jared Goff
- 24:57Speaker 1: playing well, amanras St Brown playing well and deandre swift.
- 25:01Speaker 1: So if you take, you know, the comparison of well,
- 25:03Speaker 1: they've each played a common opponent, the Lions fared better
- 25:05Speaker 1: against the eagles than the Vikings did. Is that a
- 25:07Speaker 1: one to one thing now? But I like the way
- 25:09Speaker 1: that the lions have presented themselves and carry themselves on
- 25:12Speaker 1: the field and if it's going to be as close
- 25:14Speaker 1: as I expect, I'm picking Detroit. I'm taking Dan Campbell's
- 25:17Speaker 1: bunch as having the edge and the ability to get
- 25:19Speaker 1: over the Hump and beat a team that might be,
- 25:21Speaker 1: you know, on some uncertain footing right now, with Kirk
- 25:23Speaker 1: cousins struggling. Jared Goff says, they take the field now
- 25:26Speaker 1: this season they actually believe that they are going to win.
- 25:30Speaker 1: They look different. And that game against the Eagles, as
- 25:33Speaker 1: you said, week one they had to rally and they couldn't,
- 25:35Speaker 1: you know, do the full thing, the full comeback in
- 25:37Speaker 1: the second half, but it was only a three point lost.
- 25:39Speaker 1: Thank you, nick shook. NFL DOT COM. Slash underdogs. We
- 25:44Speaker 1: continue on NFL now. Coming up next, that guy is
- 25:48Speaker 1: getting a well deserved a football life on Friday. What
- 25:52Speaker 1: we're gonna learn about said life? We're gonna ask Rod
- 25:54Speaker 1: Woodson coming up next. What? What's does it again again?
- 26:06Speaker 1: That kind of me, that kind of size. He was incredible.
- 26:10Speaker 1: He had given his heart and soul to his steelers.
- 26:13Speaker 1: After ten years knows Jason Arene is commitment to greatness.
- 26:17Speaker 1: It's the greatest thing I've ever seen. The Ravens are
- 26:19Speaker 1: the champions of the world. As a player, as a person,
- 26:23Speaker 1: was the best I've ever coached. It is about time
- 26:30Speaker 1: that this guy, our former colleague here at NFL that work,
- 26:33Speaker 1: gets his a football life. Treatment coming up on Friday.
- 26:37Speaker 1: He has a gold jacket. He's joining us live here
- 26:40Speaker 1: in NFL now, Rod Woodson, how are you, sir? I
- 26:44Speaker 1: am doing good. Thanks for having me on here. All right,
- 26:47Speaker 1: let's let's run down the list here of accomplishments. Seventeen seasons.
- 26:50Speaker 1: Hall of fame. Obviously you can't say hall of fame,
- 26:52Speaker 1: Rod as your answer here. What makes you most proud
- 26:56Speaker 1: out of this list of accomplishments? Eleven time pro bowl selection,
- 26:59Speaker 1: six time all pro defensive player of the year, all
- 27:02Speaker 1: decade team top one hundred, seventy at the anniversary team
- 27:06Speaker 1: Super Bowl champion, xfl head coach team to be named later.
- 27:10Speaker 1: What makes you the most proud out all of my
- 27:14Speaker 1: individual accomplishments mids, I think, and it's not you didn't
- 27:19Speaker 1: even say it and it's really not an accomplishment, but
- 27:21Speaker 1: the year that I hurt my a c l the
- 27:24Speaker 1: tenth play of the first game of the year and
- 27:27Speaker 1: I got to come back and play in the Super
- 27:28Speaker 1: Bowl that same year. Um that to me kind of
- 27:33Speaker 1: I want to see how far I could push myself
- 27:35Speaker 1: throughout that year outside of, you know, Bill Coward letting
- 27:38Speaker 1: me stay on the active roster. I took a roster spot,
- 27:41Speaker 1: so it wasn't fitting three guys and fifty two guys,
- 27:44Speaker 1: and then this guy injured, guy me trying to come
- 27:47Speaker 1: back from a C l. So I think for me
- 27:50Speaker 1: seeing how tough I was, how much I can push
- 27:53Speaker 1: myself to get through this injury and to try to
- 27:56Speaker 1: come back and play in the same year, because I
- 27:59Speaker 1: knew we had a good football team. I just didn't
- 28:01Speaker 1: know how good we're gonna be and didn't know if
- 28:02Speaker 1: we can get to the the super bowl or not. But
- 28:04Speaker 1: if we got yere I would have the opportunity to
- 28:07Speaker 1: play my first Super Bowl, which we did, and he
- 28:09Speaker 1: ended up playing in three super bowls. That was not
- 28:11Speaker 1: the answer I expected. You're totally right. What was it
- 28:14Speaker 1: like sitting here listening to Bill Kauer and Ray Lewis
- 28:19Speaker 1: talk about you? And what's IT gonna be like sitting
- 28:22Speaker 1: on the couch watching this Friday night? Yeah, I mean,
- 28:26Speaker 1: you know, I just played ball. I mean I'm just
- 28:29Speaker 1: the country guy from Indiana. I got to play football.
- 28:33Speaker 1: I give a lot of people credit for helping me. UH,
- 28:38Speaker 1: Chuck Noel, Tony Dungee, Dick Lebo, Rod Russ, Marvin Lewis,
- 28:44Speaker 1: Bill Kawer, all those guys influenced me in some form
- 28:48Speaker 1: of fashion. But the biggest influence I had was from
- 28:51Speaker 1: my father, who was a blue collar worker. All I
- 28:54Speaker 1: knew is how to work. I've been working since I've
- 28:56Speaker 1: been sixteen years old. So going to football practice and
- 29:00Speaker 1: working out wasn't work to me. You know, I was
- 29:03Speaker 1: I was making more than enough money. Uh, you know,
- 29:06Speaker 1: my father would go to the factory at International Harvester,
- 29:09Speaker 1: come back with his greasy hands and we would we
- 29:11Speaker 1: would basically wouldn't have enough money to keep the gas
- 29:14Speaker 1: on and the lights on in the electric so it was,
- 29:17Speaker 1: you know, for me, Um hard work, pushing through being tired,
- 29:24Speaker 1: meeting individuals like a Ray Lewis, like a carnel lake,
- 29:27Speaker 1: who pushed me to work out even harder. Uh, those
- 29:30Speaker 1: individuals kind of help shape me as individuals, as a
- 29:34Speaker 1: football player. Man. We tell that story from Fort Wayne, Indiana,
- 29:38Speaker 1: to where you sit here today, coming up again on
- 29:40Speaker 1: Friday on NFL network. The first decade. You mentioned a
- 29:43Speaker 1: lot of steeler influences there. Obviously in Pittsburgh, rod we
- 29:46Speaker 1: get the steelers and the browns coming up tomorrow. Checking
- 29:50Speaker 1: the numbers here. You had five career picks against the browns.
- 29:55Speaker 1: I know the browns moved to Baltimore. Then you work
- 29:57Speaker 1: for the Ravens. A lot of things have happened since
- 29:58Speaker 1: when you were playing. But what does this rivalry mean?
- 30:01Speaker 1: What do you remember? Well, I mean that was remember
- 30:05Speaker 1: that was the old dog pound, that was the real
- 30:07Speaker 1: dog pound. I mean that that place was dirty, nasty. Uh,
- 30:11Speaker 1: they would the dog business at you. In the wintertime
- 30:13Speaker 1: they would get snowballs and put little batteries in there.
- 30:17Speaker 1: I mean it was a real rivalry. Um, but it's
- 30:21Speaker 1: always great to see teams like this go at go
- 30:24Speaker 1: at it, especially on Thursday nights short week. You can't
- 30:27Speaker 1: you know each other. You know who they're gonna what
- 30:29Speaker 1: they're gonna run. You know each team is the same way.
- 30:32Speaker 1: They're not going to change their offensive defensive systems weekend,
- 30:35Speaker 1: a week out and getting ready for a short week. Uh,
- 30:37Speaker 1: these Games are always fun, but playing for the teaters
- 30:41Speaker 1: organization with just a great culture, meeting the Mel blunts,
- 30:45Speaker 1: who I think is the best cornerback whoever played in
- 30:47Speaker 1: the National Football League, and the history of the game,
- 30:50Speaker 1: uh to me, and Joe Green and Chuck Noll, having
- 30:54Speaker 1: Tony Dungee as my coach, all those influences when I
- 30:58Speaker 1: was in Pittsburgh meant so much to me as a
- 31:02Speaker 1: growth as an athlete and as a football player moving
- 31:04Speaker 1: down my later my career. One quick thing. I mentioned
- 31:07Speaker 1: the Ravens. We showed your pick there as a raven
- 31:09Speaker 1: against the browns. You've been doing the Ravens preseason last
- 31:12Speaker 1: couple of years of Jerry Sandusky a great job with that. Um.
- 31:16Speaker 1: What happened to that Vaunted Ravens Defense? Rod, you're a
- 31:19Speaker 1: DB there. There seemed to be some issues in the secondary.
- 31:22Speaker 1: Giving up giving up a twenty one point lead this
- 31:25Speaker 1: past Sunday. Yeah, I mean given up thirty five points
- 31:28Speaker 1: in the second half is unheard of for Raven Defense. Uh,
- 31:31Speaker 1: got some young players in the secondary. Um. You Know
- 31:34Speaker 1: Kyle Hamilton's uh, not that play right there, but the
- 31:37Speaker 1: series before Marcus Peters got ran by right here. Kyle
- 31:41Speaker 1: end up short. When you're the single high safety, you
- 31:44Speaker 1: can never get a letter receiver behind you. And then
- 31:47Speaker 1: the next series, which the play did you show before that,
- 31:50Speaker 1: Tyer heel was running Scott three and all three corner
- 31:53Speaker 1: all three safeties were on the left side of the defense.
- 31:56Speaker 1: Entire Kiell was on the right side of the defense.
- 31:58Speaker 1: So some young players. You're gonna take your lungs with
- 32:01Speaker 1: young players. They have a really good defense. I think
- 32:03Speaker 1: they will redeem themselves week in New England. Only two
- 32:07Speaker 1: people have more picks in the one hundred and three
- 32:10Speaker 1: year history than this guy, Rod Woodson, seventy one. No
- 32:13Speaker 1: one has more picks. Sixes. Rod Woodson, well deserving getting
- 32:17Speaker 1: a football life on Friday here on NFL network. Rod,
- 32:21Speaker 1: great to have you on. Enjoy it on Friday. Hall
- 32:26Speaker 1: of Fame Class of two thousand and nine, two thousand
- 32:30Speaker 1: twenty three might have some of these names. When he
- 32:32Speaker 1: got the list yesterday, nearly one hundred and thirty names
- 32:35Speaker 1: on our initial list for next August for Canton Ohio.
- 32:41Speaker 1: These are our first time nominees. A COUPLE OF NAMES,
- 32:45Speaker 1: Steve White, stand out, Joe Thomas, Darrell Reeves, James Harrison
- 32:51Speaker 1: and d white freeny as well. But you talk about
- 32:53Speaker 1: reevus and Thomas Um it would be surprising if they're
- 32:56Speaker 1: not first ballock eyes. I mean you look at what
- 32:57Speaker 1: their careers are, especially Joe Thomas, who played forty miles
- 33:01Speaker 1: away in Cleveland, and there's a dominant career. He had
- 33:04Speaker 1: left backle for teams at Lost Ball Games and the
- 33:07Speaker 1: respect he had from the guys he went against, from
- 33:09Speaker 1: the James Harrison's, from the clay math, these guys like that.
- 33:12Speaker 1: So it would be stunning if he's not a first ballot.
- 33:14Speaker 1: I'm not a voter, I don't know. I don't know
- 33:16Speaker 1: what's going into the process. And then dural reeves. You know,
- 33:19Speaker 1: when reeves played he doesn't have like the spectacular Rod
- 33:22Speaker 1: Woodson type interceptions tax because teams stayed away from it.
- 33:25Speaker 1: It was ten against eleven when reeves played because guys
- 33:28Speaker 1: just didn't go at him. So again it would be
- 33:31Speaker 1: very hard not to imagine those guys aren't first ballot guys.
- 33:35Speaker 1: But again, I'm not a voter. This is just me
- 33:37Speaker 1: putting that out right. I just work here. Um, let's
- 33:41Speaker 1: talk about the wide receiver. There is a log jam
- 33:45Speaker 1: as always, as always, including our our our friend Ar Carlleagues,
- 33:48Speaker 1: Steve Smith, seniterright. Does that get sorted out this year?
- 33:51Speaker 1: It could, because, you know, let's just go through this
- 33:52Speaker 1: area I went through where there are two of the
- 33:54Speaker 1: five modern era spots already gone. That leaves three. Right.
- 33:59Speaker 1: So now we're going back to Reggie Wayne, Steve Smith,
- 34:03Speaker 1: uh Tory Holt, on Ray Johnson. Do One of those
- 34:06Speaker 1: guys get into? All three of them get into? Two
- 34:07Speaker 1: of them get in. That's going to be the discussion again.
- 34:10Speaker 1: If they have to wait, receivers tend to have to wait.
- 34:13Speaker 1: There's not many first ballot receivers that get in. It's
- 34:16Speaker 1: gonna be a great discussion because also you're throwing some
- 34:18Speaker 1: edge guys. You saw James Harrison and dwhite freeny as
- 34:21Speaker 1: first time eligibles. But to Marcus, where was a guy,
- 34:24Speaker 1: a lot of people were Stille, that didn't get in
- 34:26Speaker 1: last year as a first time eligible. Does he get
- 34:28Speaker 1: in and if he does, does he leap frogs Yard Alan,
- 34:31Speaker 1: who's been waiting. This is why I'm glad and not
- 34:33Speaker 1: one of those forty, forty nine selectors, because you have
- 34:36Speaker 1: to have discussions about all of this and it is
- 34:38Speaker 1: mind numbing because there are so many deserving candidates. There's
- 34:42Speaker 1: only five modern era spots available. And Real Quick, one
- 34:46Speaker 1: thing about Rod Woodson. I wish I would have had
- 34:47Speaker 1: a chance to ask him this question. Should have asked
- 34:49Speaker 1: if he ever gets mistaken for Eld de Barge. I
- 34:52Speaker 1: would have asked him that Rod is my guy. Say
- 34:55Speaker 1: That with all my love. Rod. You know that we'll
- 34:58Speaker 1: text rod right now like barge question into it. Thank you, Steve.
