- 1:49[SPEAKER_04]: Who asked this question?
- 1:52[SPEAKER_04]: Well, Valor, because it's you, because you're extremely rich and because I feel like I can get away with it.

- 2:06[SPEAKER_02]: We have a jack Kaglioni, one of one printing plate that Bubba has for you.
- 2:10[SPEAKER_02]: It's got your name on it, he said.
- 2:13[SPEAKER_02]: Valor said it's a nice thing.
- 2:14[SPEAKER_02]: Yeah, that's fine.
- 2:16[SPEAKER_02]: All right.
- 2:16[SPEAKER_02]: So, Corey, ten fourteen asked Bubba.
- 2:20[SPEAKER_02]: Would you swap out the Griffin for the mayor's super?
- 2:23[SPEAKER_05]: Yeah, very close.
- 2:24[SPEAKER_05]: Yes, very close in value right now.

- 2:30[SPEAKER_02]: Share this out to your stories.
- 2:31[SPEAKER_02]: Ask any questions.
- 2:33[SPEAKER_02]: So tonight guys doing this kind of special episode here.
- 2:36[SPEAKER_02]: We wanted to just have the friendly conversation.
- 2:40[SPEAKER_02]: A sense it is kind of sports car CEO after dark.
- 2:43[SPEAKER_02]: We wanted to talk about, you know, some aspects of the hobby that are the dark side of the hobby.
- 2:47[SPEAKER_02]: Want to just mention some things as an educational piece from experience, talk a little bit about that.
- 2:52[SPEAKER_02]: But I know you're kind of fresh in the middle of this.
- 2:55[SPEAKER_02]: So again, I'll let you guys kind of kick that off.
- 2:58[SPEAKER_02]: This is a different episode.
- 2:59[SPEAKER_02]: We're not doing our weekly updates or whatever.
- 3:00[SPEAKER_02]: We just wanted to kind of engage the community, kind of a late night sit down chat.
- 3:04[SPEAKER_02]: So let's go ahead and jump first up.
- 3:06[SPEAKER_05]: Well, I mean, I think we'll start off a bit.
- 3:07[SPEAKER_05]: We'll start off with
- 3:09[SPEAKER_05]: I vividly remember when I got deep back into the space about three years ago when tracking cards was considered a no-no.
- 3:18[SPEAKER_05]: When it was considered, you don't talk about it.
- 3:21[SPEAKER_05]: It's kind of a hush hush.
- 3:23[SPEAKER_05]: I remember the first time somebody was telling me about it and I was like,
- 3:26[SPEAKER_05]: Oh, wow, you actually do that.
- 3:28[SPEAKER_05]: And then all of a sudden it was like, oh, yeah, yeah, you do that.
- 3:31[SPEAKER_05]: And I was like, oh, man, I don't know.
- 3:33[SPEAKER_05]: I was like, I don't know if I want to get into that.
- 3:35[SPEAKER_05]: So anyway, I did.
- 3:37[SPEAKER_05]: And I got into cracking carbs.
- 3:38[SPEAKER_05]: And now here it is, you know, almost three years later, it's everywhere, right?
- 3:43[SPEAKER_05]: I mean, I think everybody's cracking carbs.
- 3:45[SPEAKER_05]: I think it's, I think even now, if I'm not mistaken, yes, he's gotten into card prep services now.
- 3:51[SPEAKER_05]: even for their own grading.
- 3:52[SPEAKER_05]: I think that's all about pop out a couple months ago where they're prepping cards.
- 3:56[SPEAKER_05]: And so I'm just curious, like, when did people really start hearing about that?
- 4:00[SPEAKER_05]: Why did they think it went from this fush-hush kind of don't talk about it topic to now it's just widely openly accepted?
- 4:08[SPEAKER_05]: And I'm just curious in the hobby, how many other things we've seen in the last three to five years that kind of follow that same trend?
- 4:16[SPEAKER_05]: I've got a lot of other topics.
- 4:17[SPEAKER_05]: on that front, but just curious on the car tracking itself, a lot of people think that's all the sudden just become widely accepted.
- 4:24[SPEAKER_04]: I mean, I think that a few things really, but we all know grading is extremely subjective.
- 4:30[SPEAKER_04]: Like, it can depend on who the greater is.
- 4:33[SPEAKER_04]: Did they have a good day?
- 4:34[SPEAKER_04]: Did they have a bad day?
- 4:35[SPEAKER_04]: You know, it could depend on a lot of things.
- 4:37[SPEAKER_04]: It's extremely subjective.
- 4:39[SPEAKER_04]: It's not like, you know, we're using AI tools, the same AI tool to just create your card, right?
- 4:46[SPEAKER_04]: As it's gotten harder, as it's gotten harder to make money in the hobby, I think that was a tool that people used to
- 4:55[SPEAKER_04]: You know, there's people that make a living off of doing that and just buying eights and nines and trying to get them upgraded and they'll continue to crack and resubit because it's it because it's subjective and maybe they'll get a different grader.
- 5:07[SPEAKER_04]: Maybe they'll get the grader at the same.
- 5:08[SPEAKER_04]: Happens to be in a good mood that day and you can two x three extra money.
- 5:13[SPEAKER_04]: So I think people use it as a way to make money.
- 5:15[SPEAKER_04]: Well, I mean, we all know the multiples here and grading is subjective.
- 5:19[SPEAKER_04]: Like those are the two reasons I believe that people are doing that.
- 5:24[SPEAKER_05]: My question, though, is really not why are people doing it.
- 5:27[SPEAKER_05]: I know obviously why they want to do it.
- 5:29[SPEAKER_05]: The question is really why did it go from being considered hush hush?
- 5:35[SPEAKER_05]: It's almost like below bar type in the hobby to now widely acceptable.
- 5:40[SPEAKER_05]: And that's the question.
- 5:42[SPEAKER_05]: I mean, I'm curious from our listeners too, why did I think that's half it?
- 5:46[SPEAKER_05]: Because everybody started to do it.
- 5:48[SPEAKER_05]: That became acceptable.
- 5:50[SPEAKER_02]: We've got listeners.
- 5:51[SPEAKER_02]: We got guys that are jumping in here.
- 5:54[SPEAKER_02]: I just want to keep you guys abreast of that.
- 5:56[SPEAKER_02]: So we've got a couple of thoughts here.
- 5:59[SPEAKER_02]: So one of the comments was, listen, if you're cracking a card to sell it raw, like that's kind of misleading.
- 6:05[SPEAKER_04]: That's what I was going to say.
- 6:06[SPEAKER_04]: Yeah.
- 6:06[SPEAKER_02]: If you're cracking it and you know it's graded and you're cracking it to sell it raw and let's say it got a seven or eight or even a nine and there's no disclosure there like that's a problem.
- 6:17[SPEAKER_02]: Like you're you're you're you're selling it, you know, to mean under the guys that it's raw never been graded.
- 6:23[SPEAKER_02]: You know, again, if you crack it and said, you know, hey, we pop this out.
- 6:27[SPEAKER_02]: It was a nine or whatever.
- 6:28[SPEAKER_02]: We just don't want to send it back right now.
- 6:30[SPEAKER_02]: If you disclose that, that's kind of a bug board.
- 6:32[SPEAKER_02]: That seems to be the kind of feedback that the chat is saying a lot of times, guys are saying, though, like, you know, to your point current, if it's subjective, right, if the hobby is subjective, then if you're cracking it out to resubmit it and you're taking the risk, if this is not a problem.
- 6:49[SPEAKER_04]: Yeah, I never thought of it.
- 6:51[SPEAKER_04]: But to be a problem, hush hush about buying a nine and resumitting it or getting a nine graded yourself and then cracking it and resumitting it.
- 6:59[SPEAKER_04]: What I think is unethical that happens all the time is getting an eight of getting a seven and cracking it and selling a raw because raw prices are doing the same as nights.
- 7:10[SPEAKER_05]: Well, and I think that goes into a whole other topic we've all talked about.
- 7:14[SPEAKER_05]: How long is it going to take now before a PSA-nine?
- 7:17[SPEAKER_05]: It's a incredible grading cost that we have now.
- 7:21[SPEAKER_05]: And the lack of quality control that we've seen before nine's are no longer valued.
- 7:27[SPEAKER_05]: They'll roll, it's not valued as a PSA-nine.
- 7:29[SPEAKER_05]: Because the reality is
- 7:31[SPEAKER_05]: We all know when you get a PSA nine, it is not a fifty-fifty shot anymore.
- 7:36[SPEAKER_05]: I mean, we see a lot more aches than we've ever seen before.
- 7:39[SPEAKER_05]: So, to me, I just, and that's really, I think, with a question in what the topic is for me, who is determining in this hobby?
- 7:47[SPEAKER_05]: What is the guidelines and rules?
- 7:49[SPEAKER_05]: Because one person can say, oh, it's unethical to post a rule of nine.
- 7:53[SPEAKER_05]: But the same guy that's graduated at ten times and got the lucky greater and knew it had a huge dent in the back.
- 7:59[SPEAKER_05]: and got a PSA ten is walking all the way to the bank making that money on the tent.
- 8:03[SPEAKER_05]: So who's making the rules there?
- 8:05[SPEAKER_02]: Yeah, to your point, there's a variety of rules.
- 8:07[SPEAKER_02]: Like to some guys, they feel like it's kosher to do this and to other guys, they feel like it's not kosher to do this.
- 8:12[SPEAKER_02]: There's no standard here, right?
- 8:15[SPEAKER_02]: Like there's not a hobby standard.
- 8:16[SPEAKER_02]: And again, to your point, a couple years ago, the hobby standard was you don't crack cards.
- 8:20[SPEAKER_02]: But we just had another listener comment here that Jeff Wilson, who's likely one of the most influential figures in the hobby space, as far as following and did the reviews and all this kind of stuff, he just did a live video of cracking cards and sending it to three different companies and what came back, right?
- 8:38[SPEAKER_02]: So like, what was frowned upon two years ago is now content that's getting hundreds of thousands of views or whatever it is.
- 8:45[SPEAKER_02]: right and so like who does set the rules.
- 8:47[SPEAKER_02]: That's a great question.
- 8:48[SPEAKER_05]: Yeah, a hundred percent.
- 8:49[SPEAKER_05]: I mean, I think as we kind of look at that and we think about, I guess that brings me to the next topic.
- 8:56[SPEAKER_04]: No, I was just going to say, I mean, they're, they're really are no rules.
- 8:59[SPEAKER_04]: And that's, that's the thing about the hobby.
- 9:01[SPEAKER_04]: It's completely unregulated.
- 9:02[SPEAKER_04]: You know what I mean?
- 9:06[SPEAKER_04]: There are no rules.
- 9:07[SPEAKER_04]: Yeah, it's just it's it's unspoken rules guy kind of like golf, you know, etiquette, but some people most people don't give a shit.
- 9:15[SPEAKER_02]: So I want to I want to pause off this kind of we had G chord O six just jumped in he said, Hey, boys.
- 9:22[SPEAKER_02]: I just started listening to the podcast two days ago.
- 9:25[SPEAKER_02]: Episode four in love the content for a person that's new to the hobby.
- 9:29[SPEAKER_02]: Less than two months ago.
- 9:30[SPEAKER_02]: Keep it up, you guys.
- 9:31[SPEAKER_02]: She cord, appreciate you, man.
- 9:33[SPEAKER_02]: And listeners like you.
- 9:34[SPEAKER_02]: That's why we're doing this.
- 9:35[SPEAKER_02]: All right.
- 9:36[SPEAKER_02]: So back to the thing.
- 9:37[SPEAKER_02]: It's like golf, right?
- 9:39[SPEAKER_02]: Some guys like the hand wedge.
- 9:41[SPEAKER_02]: Some guys like the fairway role.
- 9:43[SPEAKER_02]: Some guys like the play and as it lies.
- 9:45[SPEAKER_02]: So where's the conclusion here, boys?
- 9:47[SPEAKER_02]: So we are the sports card CEO.
- 9:49[SPEAKER_02]: Where is the conclusion?
- 9:50[SPEAKER_02]: Do we
- 9:51[SPEAKER_02]: We, as guys in the hobby, have been doing this for a while who have a lot of big cards and influence in a platform, what do we say if the sports cards CEO was making up rules that we said, hey, between the three of us boys, what would the kosher rule be?
- 10:06[SPEAKER_05]: I think the kosher rule would be what Kerr said earlier.
- 10:10[SPEAKER_05]: I think number one, we would have grading companies that encapsulated this stuff in something that's a little more concrete than what we've got them in.
- 10:19[SPEAKER_05]: Tarves that are worth a hundred thousand dollars in a tencent piece of plastic.
- 10:24[SPEAKER_05]: I think that'd be a good start.
- 10:27[SPEAKER_04]: There's absolutely no reason that a PSA six, fifty-two mangle should be in the same piece of plastic that a paper Jack Caglione is in.
- 10:39[SPEAKER_04]: There's zero reason for it.
- 10:41[SPEAKER_04]: It's unacceptable.
- 10:42[SPEAKER_04]: Completely unacceptable.
- 10:45[SPEAKER_02]: So I agree with that.
- 10:46[SPEAKER_02]: A one thousand percent is the like if if the card that like here's a deal if you're upcharging me if you're upcharging me fifteen hundred dollars on a card because it's a you know over ten thousand dollars putting in a different piece of material.
- 11:01[SPEAKER_04]: That's I'm saying it's it's scam.
- 11:02[SPEAKER_04]: What do you upcharging for insurance?
- 11:05[SPEAKER_04]: I mean, it's insurance related.
- 11:07[SPEAKER_04]: Okay, I get it, but like
- 11:08[SPEAKER_04]: But I did a nicer plot.
- 11:10[SPEAKER_04]: Like what is this?
- 11:12[SPEAKER_05]: If you're charging me fifteen hundred dollars on that jack-cag we only paper card you're talking about with an upcharge you better make that sucker a spinner like a spinner chain.
- 11:22[SPEAKER_05]: One of those little spinner chains.
- 11:23[SPEAKER_05]: I want to be spinning that card at a show.
- 11:26[SPEAKER_05]: I want to look really really cool in the show.
- 11:28[SPEAKER_05]: So for fifteen hundred bucks, don't give me a ten-seat
- 11:31[SPEAKER_05]: Tencent piece of plastic the next guy is going to rip right over with some buy strips and you're going to PSA ten.
- 11:37[SPEAKER_05]: I mean that's I mean that we're talking round rules.
- 11:40[SPEAKER_05]: Let's start off there.
- 11:41[SPEAKER_05]: Let's start off with some real grading material here.
- 11:44[SPEAKER_05]: It's going to keep these cards secure.
- 11:47[SPEAKER_04]: Well, let's be honest that a pit I mean PSA wants us to crack right like
- 11:52[SPEAKER_04]: Yeah, it's to their benefit.
- 11:53[SPEAKER_02]: So in their revenue.
- 11:55[SPEAKER_04]: Yeah.
- 11:55[SPEAKER_04]: And then it's, you know, it's part of their business strategy.
- 11:59[SPEAKER_02]: So one of the questions that popped up here is like one of the things that's really interesting about this whole crack and cross thing is like, you know, PSA does the upcharge, right?
- 12:07[SPEAKER_02]: Whereas like BGS and others don't.
- 12:10[SPEAKER_02]: You know what I mean?
- 12:10[SPEAKER_02]: So like why why would you put yourself at risk?
- 12:14[SPEAKER_02]: You know what I'm saying?
- 12:15[SPEAKER_02]: To have this crazy PSA upcharge, you know, when you can send it to BGS and not get an upcharge and get a not five gym.
- 12:22[SPEAKER_02]: You know what I mean?
- 12:22[SPEAKER_02]: Like a lot of the inconsistencies among the grading companies is what actually leads to people doing this because there's no universal consistency.
- 12:31[SPEAKER_02]: It allows for this variance in subjectivity to the grade of the card.
- 12:37[SPEAKER_02]: So a lot of it has been created by the nature of the grading companies and their inconsistencies toward pricing number one, Bobby supply number two, and number three is, of course, the subjective grading.
- 12:51[SPEAKER_05]: So my question to you guys is, let's say that it was on eBay or golden or fanatics.
- 12:56[SPEAKER_05]: Let's say there was a software that was created and it showed you the history of that serial number.
- 13:01[SPEAKER_05]: Okay, that's specific card.
- 13:03[SPEAKER_05]: Even if you could go through vintage, it's something with somehow contract the life of this card.
- 13:08[SPEAKER_05]: Okay, and you knew, okay, I want to give you an example.
- 13:10[SPEAKER_05]: You knew that this card was a PSA.
- 13:13[SPEAKER_05]: but you could go buy it right now PSA-TEN and you want the card.
- 13:15[SPEAKER_05]: All right.
- 13:15[SPEAKER_05]: It's going for PSA-TEN prices.
- 13:16[SPEAKER_05]: And you're going to change your mind at all that you knew as a PSA-TEN.
- 13:18[SPEAKER_05]: It has a, it has a, it has a, it has a, it has a, it has a, it has a, it has a, it has a, it has a, it has a, it has a, it has a, it has a, it has a, it has a, it has a, it has a, it has a, it has a, it has a, it has a, it has a, it has a, it has a, it has a, it has a, it has a, it has a, it has a, it has a, it has a, it has a, it has a, it has a, it has a, it has a, it has a, it has a, it has a, it has a, it has a, it has
- 13:28[SPEAKER_05]: No, even if you just go look yourself.
- 13:30[SPEAKER_05]: So let's just say you look up at the pop and you see that that card was the PSA two weeks ago and it's a PSA tend to dead, but you want that card and you know that cards were five thousand.
- 13:41[SPEAKER_04]: But how would you know that is my question.
- 13:43[SPEAKER_04]: He said they should put that in place.
- 13:45[SPEAKER_05]: No, I'm saying if you go right now and you looked up a card.
- 13:48[SPEAKER_05]: Let's just say there's only five of them.
- 13:49[SPEAKER_05]: It's a red and you go look it up as a PSA ten.
- 13:52[SPEAKER_05]: It's worth five thousand dollars.
- 13:54[SPEAKER_05]: Yeah.
- 13:54[SPEAKER_05]: You go to the pop report and see this new PSA ten and see that two weeks ago it was in a BGS eight slide.
- 14:01[SPEAKER_05]: Okay.
- 14:01[SPEAKER_05]: So you looked at the pop report.
- 14:03[SPEAKER_04]: If you can't see the serial number on the pop report, that's the thing.
- 14:06[SPEAKER_05]: But if you go to if you go to PSA, you can pull the picture of the card.
- 14:09[SPEAKER_04]: No, you have to have the certain number.
- 14:11[SPEAKER_05]: That's right.
- 14:11[SPEAKER_05]: Yeah.
- 14:12[SPEAKER_05]: Well, you can go to car bladder though, right?
- 14:14[SPEAKER_05]: And see the same thing.
- 14:15[SPEAKER_04]: And it's publicly, if it's whole publicly, yeah.
- 14:17[SPEAKER_05]: Yeah.
- 14:17[SPEAKER_02]: Point is on a low pop card.
- 14:19[SPEAKER_02]: If you once knew that it was in the GS non-slab and now it's in a PSA slap.
- 14:23[SPEAKER_02]: Listen, affect the marketability of that card knowing that it wants to.
- 14:27[SPEAKER_05]: My question is, markability.
- 14:29[SPEAKER_05]: We know that they're selling every day.
- 14:30[SPEAKER_05]: We know what happens every day.
- 14:32[SPEAKER_05]: My question is, is yours to mindset change?
- 14:35[SPEAKER_05]: If you know that a guy had an PSA two weeks ago and now it's a ten.
- 14:39[SPEAKER_05]: Does it make you want to pay me less?
- 14:41[SPEAKER_02]: No.
- 14:41[SPEAKER_05]: In today's market.
- 14:43[SPEAKER_02]: No.
- 14:43[SPEAKER_02]: It doesn't necessarily make me want to pay less, but it kind of like, you know, you feel the, the, the, uh,
- 14:51[SPEAKER_02]: I don't know, it feels a little bit to me.
- 14:53[SPEAKER_02]: It feels a little bit like I'm not getting the.
- 14:55[SPEAKER_04]: Yeah, I should say if that card sold publicly as an eight once, right?
- 15:00[SPEAKER_04]: And there's a public sale as an eight.
- 15:02[SPEAKER_04]: And then it was cracked and resimitted as and it grated its hand.
- 15:06[SPEAKER_04]: It was back on auction or my I might a second guess paying paying a strong no logical reason, but I might if there's a public sale.
- 15:15[SPEAKER_05]: Now on the flip side, if all this sudden it was frowned upon, like it was several years ago when this first came out.
- 15:22[SPEAKER_05]: I think that they remember this.
- 15:23[SPEAKER_05]: People have short memories.
- 15:24[SPEAKER_05]: Have a tendency to have short memories.
- 15:26[SPEAKER_05]: Three years ago, when a crack card would come out and somebody knew that it was recently cracked.
- 15:31[SPEAKER_05]: It was like the car had AIDS.
- 15:33[SPEAKER_05]: Nobody wanted it.
- 15:34[SPEAKER_05]: Nobody wanted it.
- 15:35[SPEAKER_05]: Oh, it just got cracked.
- 15:37[SPEAKER_05]: That thing was an eight point five a week ago.
- 15:39[SPEAKER_05]: It's a nine now.
- 15:40[SPEAKER_05]: My point is that we're in such a flipper world now where everybody's flipping cars and it's just become the new norm.
- 15:48[SPEAKER_05]: that to me what this whole episode about today and we can do several new episodes about it is that the norm continues to change in this industry and that's I mean because I'm I'm looking at myself from three or four years ago what the norm was four years ago where we're at today
- 16:03[SPEAKER_05]: is incredibly different and people can sit there and act like it's not but it's very different and it continues to change because all it takes is one person is changing that market daily or weekly or monthly and if you're not changing you're losing money in this hobby and that's the fact.
- 16:20[SPEAKER_02]: Well, to your point, and we've got, I want to just say to those that are watching us on Instagram, they're giving great feedback here.
- 16:26[SPEAKER_02]: A lot of faults.
- 16:27[SPEAKER_02]: I can't keep up with all of it.
- 16:29[SPEAKER_02]: But these guys are commenting back and forth.
- 16:30[SPEAKER_02]: Good chat's going on here.
- 16:31[SPEAKER_02]: So I'm glad we did this, to stimulate in a lot of conversation.
- 16:34[SPEAKER_02]: The reality is, blah, blah, what you're saying is, is that you're in a hobby.
- 16:39[SPEAKER_02]: that is always changing and so you better be willing to adapt to it and if you're not willing to adapt to it you're gonna get left behind because the hobby is moving and you gotta be able to move with it right and so it's kind of one of those things where if two years ago was frowned upon to crack but now it's actually like fodder for content on thing like you better figure that out
- 16:59[SPEAKER_02]: because that's just part of the hobby now that's an accepted part of the hobby.
- 17:03[SPEAKER_02]: And if you're not adapting to that, you know, this is one of the reasons why a buddy of ours day that, you know, we talk about fresh label nines, fresh label nines from PSA are better than probably many of the PSA tens that were graded in earlier certain numbers.
- 17:19[SPEAKER_02]: because so much has changed.
- 17:21[SPEAKER_02]: And so if you're not valuing cards higher, if you're willing to flip a fresh label PSA non for an old label PSA non comp, like I feel like you're missing out.
- 17:30[SPEAKER_02]: So you got to be smart and you got to be dapped or you're going to get left behind.
- 17:33[SPEAKER_02]: That's not my two cents.
- 17:34[SPEAKER_05]: Well again, I mean, if we're being honest and everybody can hopefully be honest about this, when they're sending in a card right now, they're all evaluating as well, what level am I sending in in that?
- 17:45[SPEAKER_05]: Am I sending in that valuable?
- 17:46[SPEAKER_05]: Am I sending it super Express?
- 17:48[SPEAKER_05]: Am I sending it regular?
- 17:49[SPEAKER_05]: Why are they evaluating that?
- 17:50[SPEAKER_05]: Obviously, the cost of the grading, they're also evaluating the grader.
- 17:54[SPEAKER_05]: They're also evaluating where they've gotten the best grades.
- 17:57[SPEAKER_05]: And there's nobody that's any different than that that can say that they're not wanting to get the best grade when they send it in.
- 18:03[SPEAKER_05]: And so to me, it just becomes this whole thing that to me is it goes back to what you said to start current.
- 18:10[SPEAKER_05]: It's not efficient.
- 18:11[SPEAKER_05]: The grading system that's currently there is broken.
- 18:15[SPEAKER_05]: It's not efficient.
- 18:16[SPEAKER_05]: And to me, it's a bubble in a sense.
- 18:19[SPEAKER_05]: I don't think this can continue where people are selling the same card fifteen times in a twelve month period.
- 18:25[SPEAKER_05]: I just don't think that it's, I don't think that it's sustainable.
- 18:29[SPEAKER_04]: Yeah, I agree with that.
- 18:30[SPEAKER_04]: I do.
- 18:31[SPEAKER_02]: So again, to our listeners, right?
- 18:32[SPEAKER_02]: Like tonight, we're addressing kind of like issues, taboo issues, whatever in the hobby, the dark side of the hobby.
- 18:40[SPEAKER_02]: What would you guys say is as another area where you guys want to kind of focus or hit on?
- 18:45[SPEAKER_02]: And silence from the crowd.
- 18:47[SPEAKER_02]: Yeah, we got tons of people that are commenting on the grading and a lot of times what the comments are saying on the grading is like listen PSA up charges like we at some point time as the hobby have to demand that like that's not okay, you know like it's not okay to charge us this much more on this value of a card with no increase and you're actually getting back other than the fact that your card actually graded higher like that's one of the things that's really coming here's
- 19:15[SPEAKER_04]: biggest issue staying on this topic of grading.
- 19:17[SPEAKER_04]: One of my bigger issues is that when you submit a card to be looked at for crossover at PSA, like we just submitted a card for crossover at PSA.
- 19:27[SPEAKER_04]: And it had, it was a BGS-nine-five, two gemploss, it had two ten subgrades and two nine and a half, right?
- 19:33[SPEAKER_04]: We paid four hundred bucks at the national onsite to have it looked at.
- 19:37[SPEAKER_04]: Didn't cross.
- 19:38[SPEAKER_04]: I was supposed to get greater notes.
- 19:39[SPEAKER_04]: I didn't get greater notes.
- 19:40[SPEAKER_04]: Still charged four hundred bucks.
- 19:42[SPEAKER_04]: Like what a scam dude like what a scam like I feel like you got to be charged like half the fear something if it doesn't cross like
- 19:50[SPEAKER_04]: I'd pay the same amount if you put it in your five cent plastic or whatever you want to call it five dollar plastic, twenty dollar plastic, piece to cross it.
- 19:58[SPEAKER_04]: But like what am I paying for it?
- 19:59[SPEAKER_04]: I should be paying for at most half of that cost of for your greater to take a thirty second look at it and decide.
- 20:06[SPEAKER_04]: But like when you're if I'm paying the same price of four hundred dollars when it does cross, I get it.
- 20:12[SPEAKER_04]: You know, yeah, number one, I'm happy.
- 20:14[SPEAKER_04]: But number two, look, I'm paying for cracking it in the insurance of if something goes wrong.
- 20:19[SPEAKER_04]: I'm paying for the actual slab.
- 20:20[SPEAKER_04]: I'm paying for the time, the labor and the cost of labeling.
- 20:24[SPEAKER_04]: But when it doesn't cross, why the hell am I paying the same price?
- 20:28[SPEAKER_04]: Great point.
- 20:29[SPEAKER_04]: Great point.
- 20:30[SPEAKER_05]: So Valor just asked a really good question.
- 20:33[SPEAKER_05]: He said, why?
- 20:35[SPEAKER_05]: He's a serious question.
- 20:36[SPEAKER_05]: Why did we hold PSA at a higher standard than BGS?
- 20:40[SPEAKER_05]: And I, I was somebody that I want you guys to answer that for me and I'll give you kind of my answer as well.
- 20:45[SPEAKER_05]: What's your all thoughts on that?
- 20:46[SPEAKER_02]: There's one reason.
- 20:47[SPEAKER_02]: The only reason why is because the hobby pays more for a PSA ten than a BG person.
- 20:53[SPEAKER_04]: Right.
- 20:53[SPEAKER_02]: Only reason why.
- 20:55[SPEAKER_04]: Why do they pay more?
- 20:56[SPEAKER_04]: I don't know the answer to that.
- 20:58[SPEAKER_04]: I don't know.
- 20:58[SPEAKER_04]: I have just subjectivity.
- 21:00[SPEAKER_05]: Well, I'll tell you why.
- 21:02[SPEAKER_05]: I'll tell you why I think to happen.
- 21:04[SPEAKER_05]: BGS had, they had, they had the hobby by the balls for a long time.
- 21:08[SPEAKER_05]: BGS was the, was the it, right?
- 21:12[SPEAKER_05]: And BGS wondered it.
- 21:13[SPEAKER_05]: And PSA took advantage of it.
- 21:16[SPEAKER_05]: And they came in with something different.
- 21:18[SPEAKER_05]: They came in.
- 21:19[SPEAKER_05]: They actually a years ago.
- 21:20[SPEAKER_05]: I remember four or five years ago.
- 21:22[SPEAKER_05]: PSA had customer service.
- 21:25[SPEAKER_05]: PSA was a place you would go.
- 21:28[SPEAKER_05]: And if you couldn't get the love at BGS, you could get it at PSA.
- 21:32[SPEAKER_05]: And now that's totally flipped.
- 21:34[SPEAKER_05]: Now you don't get service at BGS or PSA.
- 21:37[SPEAKER_05]: And to me, PSA has gotten to this point that people are so locked into what you said Matt.
- 21:43[SPEAKER_05]: And that is, I think, the whole point of this whole episode today is that we've all, everybody in the hobbies got in this tunnel vision of how do I make money, how do I make money, how do I make money on the next car, and they're forgetting everything else.
- 21:55[SPEAKER_05]: And PSA is sitting there, caching the checks every single day.
- 22:00[SPEAKER_05]: When people are paying these huge upcharges for PSA-nines at PSA-hates, it's absolutely sickening to me.
- 22:07[SPEAKER_05]: And the sad truth is, if BGS had been smart at all,
- 22:13[SPEAKER_05]: If they had come to the hobby and said, guys, we know we messed up.
- 22:17[SPEAKER_05]: We're going to be at these shows.
- 22:18[SPEAKER_05]: We're going to shake your hands.
- 22:20[SPEAKER_05]: We're we're going to get back to customer service.
- 22:23[SPEAKER_05]: We're going to get back to communicating with our customers.
- 22:25[SPEAKER_05]: We're going to get back to if our grades are messed up.
- 22:28[SPEAKER_05]: We're going to make it right.
- 22:30[SPEAKER_05]: I guarantee you BGS could gain market share and gain a lot of it back.
- 22:35[SPEAKER_05]: I don't know anything to do with the grading standards.
- 22:38[SPEAKER_05]: because PSA's just as inconsistent as BDS, it a hundred percent goes back to the financial side that you talked about, and it goes back to the fact that BGS has forgot their customers years ago.
- 22:50[SPEAKER_05]: People didn't forget it, and they got angry about it, and now PSA's doing the same thing.
- 22:54[SPEAKER_05]: So it's a prime time for some grading company to step up, and the news flashes, SGC was starting to do it, and the PSA picked up on it, and they bought them out.
- 23:07[SPEAKER_02]: Well, I will say this, too.
- 23:08[SPEAKER_02]: It's like one of the things that I did here is that, you know, basically the service level and everything at SGC has just completely fallen off the charts.
- 23:20[SPEAKER_02]: And it's interesting to think, like, will the hobby still have any recognition of an SGC slab?
- 23:26[SPEAKER_02]: If SGC officially gets converted into just a PSA asset, do you know what I'm saying?
- 23:31[SPEAKER_02]: Like, would there ever be a situation if an SGC has basically gone into water?
- 23:35[SPEAKER_02]: Will PSA honor
- 23:37[SPEAKER_02]: the SGC grades and cross those cards over to keep the credibility in the hobby.
- 23:42[SPEAKER_02]: If you have a situation where SGC becomes irrelevant.
- 23:45[SPEAKER_05]: I mean, PSA came in immediately.
- 23:47[SPEAKER_05]: First thing they did with SGC was go in and change.
- 23:51[SPEAKER_05]: Great.
- 23:51[SPEAKER_05]: It gets locked down the grading, essentially that if you were using SGC, they could basically couldn't think on the run.
- 23:59[SPEAKER_05]: You were going to get to the grade.
- 24:00[SPEAKER_05]: You were going to get from PSA.
- 24:02[SPEAKER_05]: I mean, clearly, they changed the grading scale very quickly from there.
- 24:05[SPEAKER_05]: And basically, I don't think they really cared.
- 24:07[SPEAKER_05]: I don't think they really cared if those SGC customers weren't happy about it.
- 24:12[SPEAKER_05]: In my opinion, I could be wrong.
- 24:14[SPEAKER_05]: But I think that they just wanted to make sure that market share wasn't going somewhere else.
- 24:18[SPEAKER_05]: They didn't want to allow a third competitor to come in and take any more market share and hey, a smart business decision on PSA side.
- 24:26[SPEAKER_05]: Somebody, it's prime for the taking, in my opinion, that the collectors and the hobby come together, and we really think on what we want for grading.
- 24:35[SPEAKER_05]: There could be so many ways, so many improvements to grading.
- 24:37[SPEAKER_05]: Like we talked about earlier, levels of encasement, encapsulation, customer service.
- 24:43[SPEAKER_05]: I mean, education on what you're going to get before you grade.
- 24:47[SPEAKER_05]: I mean, so many things that they could do and
- 24:50[SPEAKER_05]: I hope somebody does it.
- 24:51[SPEAKER_05]: I really do.
- 24:52[SPEAKER_04]: Yeah, I think, you know, kind of switching gears a tiny bit here, but it's just kind of got my mind thinking about like what's to come and a lot of it when not in my mind went back to AI grading, right?
- 25:03[SPEAKER_04]: Like I don't think PSA is ever going to like fully transfer.
- 25:06[SPEAKER_04]: transform to pay high grading.
- 25:08[SPEAKER_04]: I think that their graders are they're right in butter right but like I think they'll they'll use it in some fashion if they're not already right but to me from like as a buyer on the secondary market buying on eBay to me one of the biggest risks is buying raw cards on eBay.
- 25:25[SPEAKER_04]: All right.
- 25:25[SPEAKER_04]: I mean, how many times have you gotten a raw card and it's got a crease at the back, but it passes authenticity, right?
- 25:30[SPEAKER_04]: Or it has a dented, you know, bank or everything flies by eBay authenticity.
- 25:37[SPEAKER_04]: Occasionally, they'll find something.
- 25:38[SPEAKER_04]: They've saved me.
- 25:39[SPEAKER_04]: But how can we make that more secure?
- 25:41[SPEAKER_04]: To me, the solution is eventually, you be working with an AI grading company.
- 25:49[SPEAKER_04]: And having that AI grading company,
- 25:52[SPEAKER_04]: In order to post that raw card, having an integrating company, you have to put it in like a digital slab, right?
- 25:58[SPEAKER_04]: And it's digitally slabbed.
- 26:00[SPEAKER_04]: And if you don't have it digitally slabbed and listed, then we can automatically assume it's probably shit, right?
- 26:07[SPEAKER_04]: Because they don't want it like that for a reason.
- 26:09[SPEAKER_04]: And so while it might not it's not going to be V grade at PSA or BG as whatever put it gives in an idea of the condition instead of just listing it as excellent or near meant you have to have this digital slab in order to upload that as you use this AI platform and in order to list it not in order to list it but you can have the option to list it with that digital slab of what the grade would be so your it's transparency.
- 26:33[SPEAKER_04]: And if it doesn't have that, you could probably assume that it's crap condition.
- 26:38[SPEAKER_02]: So there is a deal right now where you can buy a raw card on eBay, send it to PSA for grading.
- 26:46[SPEAKER_02]: And if it does not grade out a certain grade, then you're actually entitled to refund on that card.
- 26:53[SPEAKER_04]: That's great.
- 26:54[SPEAKER_04]: That's great.
- 26:55[SPEAKER_04]: Yeah.
- 26:56[SPEAKER_04]: The problem is that in what we're doing with Bowman, everything is time sensitive.
- 27:01[SPEAKER_04]: I don't want to wait and that's great that they've come up with that, right?
- 27:05[SPEAKER_04]: But like, I don't want to wait to get the card.
- 27:08[SPEAKER_04]: You have to go through authenticity and then to grade it and then to like deal with that crap on the back end, right?
- 27:13[SPEAKER_04]: Like I want to know up front is his card name.
- 27:16[SPEAKER_04]: I mean, like, yeah, it's probably not to eBay's advantage to do that because there's going to be less sales, right?
- 27:23[SPEAKER_04]: I feel like for them, like the mass market, high volume stuff, it should have, like there needs to be some security for more security for buyers.
- 27:33[SPEAKER_02]: Yeah, exactly.
- 27:33[SPEAKER_02]: Well, commenter here, J.T.
- 27:35[SPEAKER_02]: Fresh has been adding a lot.
- 27:36[SPEAKER_02]: He said three to four months turn around as way too long on bum and product.
- 27:40[SPEAKER_02]: Do you know how much can change in a bum and market between three to four?
- 27:42[SPEAKER_04]: Yeah, it's crazy.
- 27:44[SPEAKER_02]: Yeah, it's, it's, the, the liquidity of these cards is so quick that.
- 27:49[SPEAKER_04]: Thank you, game stuff.
- 27:51[SPEAKER_02]: Yeah, to have a car that's stuck in grading for three or four months, I mean, that card could literally change fifty percent in value.
- 27:57[SPEAKER_04]: I mean, they're essentially forcing your hand to pay for a higher service level, right?
- 28:01[SPEAKER_04]: And I think since GameStop, once, once GameStop's
- 28:06[SPEAKER_04]: started doing PSAP submissions.
- 28:08[SPEAKER_04]: I think that's when the value bulk submissions got really backed up.
- 28:12[SPEAKER_04]: Like they weren't looking at packages for like three, four months before they even got it into research and I day.
- 28:18[SPEAKER_04]: Maybe that's an exaggeration, but I think it was legitimately like two months before it got into research and I day because of all the submissions from Gabe's top.
- 28:25[SPEAKER_02]: Oh, you look back at the, the, the, the, the, the, the, the ball of this and it's, you know, the pandemic, when everybody's at home and the grading orders just come up with us around.
- 28:36[SPEAKER_02]: at me what was hard.
- 28:38[SPEAKER_02]: Well, quarters that were taken a year around PSA, you know.
- 28:43[SPEAKER_02]: So, I mean, I had a buddy tell us it used to be you grade a card for eight, ten, twelve bucks, whatever.
- 28:47[SPEAKER_02]: And then when the hobby completely exploded, they couldn't keep up with the man, you know, they're a year behind on these dull quarters.
- 28:54[SPEAKER_02]: And so I think a lot of the pricing structure and all this kind of stuff is just a function of the blow up of the hobby from twenty twenty to twenty twenty one.
- 29:05[SPEAKER_02]: and then trying to stop out, and they've encouraged that they were dealing with.
- 29:11[SPEAKER_02]: I don't think it's right, but I'm just saying I think that that all led to where we are today.
- 29:15[SPEAKER_05]: Got a question.
- 29:15[SPEAKER_05]: I got a question for some listeners.
- 29:17[SPEAKER_05]: What's the thought of if you buy a card that you own, let's say you own a lot of a certain player, okay?
- 29:25[SPEAKER_05]: And I don't know, you could choose your favorite player at the moment.
- 29:27[SPEAKER_05]: And you see a card there.
- 29:30[SPEAKER_05]: and you go and you buy it now, okay?
- 29:32[SPEAKER_05]: Card is, thirty five hundred, I asked Tomp is twenty five hundred dollars.
- 29:36[SPEAKER_05]: And there's no other, there's not any other inventory really out there at that player.
- 29:40[SPEAKER_05]: You buy said card at thirty five hundred dollars.
- 29:43[SPEAKER_05]: Frankly, because you want it, but number two, because it's going to help your comp.
- 29:47[SPEAKER_05]: And there's a lot, is that, obviously, is that it would that be considered a, no, no, and the hobby is that is that who's considering that a, I mean, somebody purchased it, they actually purchased the card.
- 29:58[SPEAKER_05]: They owned a lot of other versions of that car.
- 30:01[SPEAKER_05]: How would that be construed in the hobby?
- 30:03[SPEAKER_05]: Would that be construed as a, is that, how was that, I would just do your curious how our listeners would constru that because it happens all the time.
- 30:11[SPEAKER_05]: If somebody owns a large market share of it,
- 30:14[SPEAKER_05]: You can see these comps fly out.
- 30:16[SPEAKER_05]: I saw that at the national and we talked about it last episode.
- 30:19[SPEAKER_05]: Where for the first time I saw people not building comps all the way up to the national.
- 30:26[SPEAKER_05]: I saw at the national people creating fake comps on cards to buy the card low because they wanted to buy.
- 30:33[SPEAKER_05]: So it could be a JD Daniels card for example.
- 30:36[SPEAKER_05]: Last comp could have been three thousand dollars.
- 30:38[SPEAKER_05]: I saw people doing just dumbass stuff.
- 30:40[SPEAKER_05]: They put four hundred dollar comps out there on cars.
- 30:43[SPEAKER_05]: And we're creating these comps.
- 30:45[SPEAKER_05]: And so my question is, where is that line?
- 30:48[SPEAKER_05]: You got people that are legitimately buying because they want the car, but yes, it helps their comps.
- 30:53[SPEAKER_05]: Then you got people doing this and they're creating negative comps on the downside.
- 30:57[SPEAKER_05]: And there's this big vicious cycle that's happening on a regular basis.
- 31:01[SPEAKER_05]: My first question is, what is right and wrong all the way between that?
- 31:05[SPEAKER_05]: And then number two is, how does it ever stop?
- 31:08[SPEAKER_05]: Where does this ever stop?
- 31:09[SPEAKER_05]: Is it sustainable?
- 31:10[SPEAKER_05]: Because we're on this hamster wheel of, I was great that we have card ladder.
- 31:15[SPEAKER_05]: It's great that we can know what the last card went for.
- 31:18[SPEAKER_05]: But when do we really know what we're really buying?
- 31:21[SPEAKER_05]: And so I'm curious, you guys thought so on that.
- 31:23[SPEAKER_05]: Matt and Karen and I'm curious about our listeners also.
- 31:27[SPEAKER_02]: I'm glad to jump in.
- 31:27[SPEAKER_02]: We have a ton of thoughts here on the live stream.
- 31:30[SPEAKER_02]: Guys, just let me know if you want to keep the live stream roll or not.
- 31:33[SPEAKER_02]: I'm just trying to keep up with this as we're kind of having the conversation.
- 31:37[SPEAKER_02]: So here's the deal.
- 31:38[SPEAKER_02]: Like, comparable sales like have the potential to bury the market because if everybody's only willing to pay eighty five percent of last sale or whatever the number is,
- 31:53[SPEAKER_02]: There's no way to see appreciation, right?
- 31:55[SPEAKER_02]: So the only thing that builds appreciation in the card hobby is for somebody to pay over the last comp.
- 32:02[SPEAKER_02]: That's bottom line, like you have to be willing to pay over comp.
- 32:06[SPEAKER_02]: And I know you guys aren't big in the Jordan stuff right now, but I promise you, almost every single Jordan card that's flying right now in the nineties insert market is over its last comp.
- 32:16[SPEAKER_02]: And the reason why is because that hobby is being driven by true collectors that are stashing away these cards and personal collections, and flippers are getting in because they want to piece the action too, and it's flying off the shelf.
- 32:29[SPEAKER_02]: Versus, you know, to mean the downtown market, the generic kaboon market, you know, the football, latest and greatest quarterback market, everybody's just trying to play, you know,
- 32:41[SPEAKER_02]: pay fifty per eighty five percent or whatever.
- 32:44[SPEAKER_05]: And Bowman can fall into that trap to the niche part of Bowman is that people understand the true value in the low number parallels and so the smart guys aren't willing to lowball themselves and sell it under com well that's what I've been saying for the last two months screaming from the mountain tops that's why Bowman has been so strong this year supply and demand for the first time Bowman collectors are not selling too early
- 33:10[SPEAKER_05]: They're not bailing on guys.
- 33:13[SPEAKER_05]: And when they do bail on guys, that's when there is that buying opportunity.
- 33:17[SPEAKER_05]: We've talked about it before where guys get to call and the guy doesn't play good for two or three weeks.
- 33:22[SPEAKER_05]: And then they dump all of his cars.
- 33:23[SPEAKER_05]: Well if you really believe in that player, that's your buying opportunity.
- 33:27[SPEAKER_05]: Because most of the time now in Bowman, what's happening on these prospects is people have done the research.
- 33:33[SPEAKER_05]: They know what they're buying.
- 33:34[SPEAKER_05]: They know, and it's supply and demand.
- 33:36[SPEAKER_05]: I've said it all year, there's been the lowest amount of Bowman availability of true color I have seen in years, five years.
- 33:44[SPEAKER_05]: And that's what's built the market.
- 33:46[SPEAKER_05]: When there's very little availability, it means the prices go in up.
- 33:50[SPEAKER_05]: Because when you want to go to the store and go get that brand new TV, you want it for the
- 33:55[SPEAKER_05]: the big games about to come on.
- 33:57[SPEAKER_05]: You go to Best Buy and you're ready to watch the game, you got the popcorn, you got the chips, ice in there, getting a hot dog's ready, ready to watch the game, the DMTV's gone.
- 34:06[SPEAKER_05]: Guess what?
- 34:06[SPEAKER_05]: There's another one on the other one.
- 34:08[SPEAKER_05]: It's five hundred dollars more.
- 34:09[SPEAKER_05]: You're gonna buy that some of the things.
- 34:11[SPEAKER_05]: You're gonna buy it because you want to watch the game.
- 34:13[SPEAKER_05]: You know, and that is a hundred percent what happened in Bowman.
- 34:16[SPEAKER_05]: is that people are now starting to understand what they have.
- 34:20[SPEAKER_05]: Supply has been limited and now that has increased our market and it's a phenomenal thing for our space.
- 34:27[SPEAKER_02]: So again, I would just say this to our listeners that are on the IG lab right now, the great feedback here.
- 34:34[SPEAKER_02]: The comments are awesome.
- 34:36[SPEAKER_02]: These guys are just really having conversations back and forth.
- 34:39[SPEAKER_02]: They're kind of feeding off of what we're saying or whatever.
- 34:41[SPEAKER_02]: I think ultimately boys, one of the things that I feel compelled to say here is this hobby is built up of so much hype.
- 34:50[SPEAKER_02]: It is built off of hype and it is built off of Phoma.
- 34:53[SPEAKER_02]: And yet underneath it, there is real value.
- 34:58[SPEAKER_02]: because a Shelly of Tony read or a Judge read or a Harper read or name your iconic player, it's gonna demand the high value.
- 35:08[SPEAKER_02]: So there is some tangible thing where a guy goes, oh yeah, if this is the next guy, then the value is there.
- 35:15[SPEAKER_02]: But again, everybody's just rolling their dice or throwing their thing on the roulette table until it gets to that point.
- 35:23[SPEAKER_02]: Yeah.
- 35:23[SPEAKER_02]: And that's where you just have to understand the game that you're playing.
- 35:27[SPEAKER_04]: It's a game of musical chairs, right?
- 35:29[SPEAKER_04]: And like buy in, you buy out, you buy in, you sell, you buy in again, you sell.
- 35:34[SPEAKER_04]: And it's like, what are you gonna end up with?
- 35:36[SPEAKER_04]: Like who's gonna end up with what?
- 35:38[SPEAKER_04]: And when is that gonna be?
- 35:39[SPEAKER_04]: Like Gary and I were talking last night.
- 35:41[SPEAKER_04]: Like we're talking about like some of these cars, we're gonna set one of these cars that each of us is selling at this point throughout this year.
- 35:49[SPEAKER_04]: We're gonna regret selling.
- 35:51[SPEAKER_04]: Like, we're selling some big cards, right?
- 35:53[SPEAKER_04]: Like, one of them, like, I'm like, there's one of them going to be the next, like, trout, you know?
- 35:58[SPEAKER_04]: Like, are we selling, are we selling a future, a thousand dollar red, you know?
- 36:03[SPEAKER_04]: Like, I don't know, we'll find out.
- 36:05[SPEAKER_04]: But that's the fun of it for me, you know?
- 36:06[SPEAKER_02]: I think I think that the, if you play the law of averages and the law of numbers, so there might be one guy out of this class that's the guy.
- 36:15[SPEAKER_02]: But yet there's forty guys that are getting traded pretty heavily.
- 36:19[SPEAKER_02]: So again,
- 36:21[SPEAKER_02]: There's the guy who says, you know what, I'm gonna buy the red, and I'm gonna sit on it for five years, and he gets paid.
- 36:28[SPEAKER_02]: I'll never forget, when we first started in the card hobby, a buddy of ours was into pitcher autos.
- 36:33[SPEAKER_02]: And we're looking through his case, and there's a bunch of wanderin' there, and Adley in there, and this is back in like, twenty-twenty-two.
- 36:40[SPEAKER_02]: And I look at this card, and I hold it up to Matthew, and I go, who the heck is Toreak Scooble?
- 36:47[SPEAKER_02]: I never before.
- 36:50[SPEAKER_02]: Why would a guy have an auto of Toreak Scooble?
- 36:53[SPEAKER_02]: Who cares?
- 36:55[SPEAKER_02]: This is a nobody, you know what I mean?
- 36:57[SPEAKER_02]: And the card was selling for whatever it's selling for it.
- 36:59[SPEAKER_02]: And we sold them all.
- 37:01[SPEAKER_04]: That's why Bowman is awesome, man.
- 37:02[SPEAKER_02]: We sold them all.
- 37:04[SPEAKER_02]: And by the same character point, three, these were full refractor, tens, base chrome refractors, PSA, tens.
- 37:12[SPEAKER_02]: We're doing two hundred bucks.
- 37:14[SPEAKER_02]: And we saw them all.
- 37:16[SPEAKER_02]: And now they're probably doing thirty, forty, fifty, I don't know, whatever they're doing.
- 37:20[SPEAKER_02]: And so like it's just if you don't educate yourself on this stuff and if you're not up on it and you're not up on what the hobby is doing and how the everything's moving, this is why guys get burned in this and they just go stick to flipping downtowns and football cards.
- 37:34[SPEAKER_05]: Well, the reality is this, we call this show the sports car CEO for a reason.
- 37:39[SPEAKER_05]: And I can tell you that in the last twenty years, we're running a business.
- 37:43[SPEAKER_05]: It doesn't matter, and I've had to learn the car business the last four years.
- 37:46[SPEAKER_05]: It's just no different than any other business.
- 37:48[SPEAKER_05]: It's what you put into it.
- 37:50[SPEAKER_05]: It a hundred percent is what you put into it.
- 37:52[SPEAKER_05]: If you want to win, you've got to have that competitive drive.
- 37:57[SPEAKER_05]: You've got to be able to research.
- 37:58[SPEAKER_05]: You've got to be late night looking at what cards are available.
- 38:01[SPEAKER_05]: You've got to be scouring the web, like little mat over there does.
- 38:05[SPEAKER_05]: I mean, you've got to be grinding to win at this game because there's so many other people that are in this game that are wanting to do the same thing you're wanting to do.
- 38:15[SPEAKER_05]: They want to go through the next guy.
- 38:17[SPEAKER_04]: Or if you're Gary, you could just be a freaking genius and have Lil Mouth scare with a web and and current just do the prospecting and you know, and just, you know, he's got a little set up.
- 38:29[SPEAKER_05]: Curse during the prospecting.
- 38:31[SPEAKER_05]: Well, I get out now that now the show's going to get
- 38:34[SPEAKER_04]: You got it all set up.
- 38:35[SPEAKER_05]: Who who like Connor Griffin before the other let's do that.
- 38:40[SPEAKER_04]: I will give you I'll give you that one.
- 38:44[SPEAKER_04]: I will.
- 38:44[SPEAKER_00]: Sebastian walk on Sebastian walk on to the moon Sebastian walk on I name my son Sebastian.
- 38:52[SPEAKER_04]: I named him Sebastian remember when I had a sell you on the Weasepania.
- 38:58[SPEAKER_04]: I don't know man
- 38:59[SPEAKER_04]: He's, I'm like, Gary, the guy doesn't need to be a superstar, right?
- 39:03[SPEAKER_04]: But his value's got to go out.
- 39:04[SPEAKER_04]: Come on.
- 39:05[SPEAKER_04]: We've been there.
- 39:06[SPEAKER_05]: Luis has got a long way to go.
- 39:08[SPEAKER_05]: I love you.
- 39:08[SPEAKER_05]: Luis has got a long way to go to be Connor Griffin.
- 39:11[SPEAKER_05]: Everyone in his first high end back.
- 39:13[SPEAKER_03]: Yeah.
- 39:14[SPEAKER_05]: Luis Penge.
- 39:15[SPEAKER_05]: All I'm gonna say is Spencer Jones.
- 39:20[SPEAKER_05]: I've been telling you boys about him.
- 39:21[SPEAKER_05]: We get into the prospecting thing.
- 39:25[SPEAKER_05]: That's what I get a little bit.
- 39:26[SPEAKER_05]: We can talk about buying.
- 39:28[SPEAKER_05]: We get talk about research, but you talk about prospecting.
- 39:31[SPEAKER_05]: I got some pride in my prospecting.
- 39:34[SPEAKER_04]: I know you do.
- 39:36[SPEAKER_04]: I know you do.
- 39:37[SPEAKER_04]: You do wake up in those mornings and I talk to you on the way to the farm and you're like,
- 39:40[SPEAKER_04]: There's a guy that I think into, I don't know if you've heard of him.
- 39:45[SPEAKER_03]: You're on it.
- 39:45[SPEAKER_03]: You're on it.
- 39:46[SPEAKER_01]: You're on it.
- 39:47[SPEAKER_01]: You're on it.
- 39:48[SPEAKER_03]: And you and you were on countergriffing before.
- 39:50[SPEAKER_01]: And the Dominican.
- 39:52[SPEAKER_03]: Yeah, exactly.
- 39:53[SPEAKER_01]: So hey, we, we have a couple of things here.
- 39:56[SPEAKER_01]: This is Central areas.
- 39:57[SPEAKER_01]: One of our listeners just said, that Gary has the wall cut super.
- 40:03[SPEAKER_01]: And he just has it.
- 40:05[SPEAKER_03]: You know, you know, it's funny about that.
- 40:07[SPEAKER_03]: I have the Connor Griffin super and I just haven't told anybody.
- 40:10[SPEAKER_01]: Yeah, right.
- 40:12[SPEAKER_01]: Yeah, right.
- 40:12[SPEAKER_01]: That would be so funny.
- 40:14[SPEAKER_05]: Now on a serious note, I do have the James Wood Super and I've been holding it for the last two and a half years.
- 40:21[SPEAKER_05]: I'm publicly going to make it available this evening.
- 40:24[SPEAKER_05]: Half a million dollars.
- 40:25[SPEAKER_04]: It is the James Wood Super from twenty twenty three Bowman Chrome.
- 40:30[SPEAKER_02]: Yes, yes.
- 40:31[SPEAKER_02]: So some boys, we're getting on our time list.
- 40:34[SPEAKER_02]: And this has actually been super fun.
- 40:35[SPEAKER_02]: It's been a good change of pace for us from our normal show.
- 40:40[SPEAKER_02]: The father has been really good.
- 40:41[SPEAKER_02]: This has been a lot of fun.
- 40:42[SPEAKER_04]: Maybe we should do it dark side every now and then.
- 40:44[SPEAKER_02]: We should we we need to do boys.
- 40:46[SPEAKER_05]: We barely be difficult to the dark side of the pool.
- 40:49[SPEAKER_05]: We need a little I need a little more motivation.
- 40:52[SPEAKER_05]: I see our fans over here talking about they want more bourbon.
- 40:56[SPEAKER_05]: We'll come in next time.
- 40:57[SPEAKER_05]: We'll do spin the bottle and we'll really get going here, but we need more content from y'all.
- 41:02[SPEAKER_05]: Well, how dark y'all want us to go.
- 41:04[SPEAKER_05]: because there's some there's some shiz go on this hobby that I don't like.
- 41:08[SPEAKER_05]: The Bowman farmer does it like some of the shiz he's seen.
- 41:12[SPEAKER_05]: All right.
- 41:12[SPEAKER_02]: So hey, well, how deep how dark do we want to get the Bowman farmer says there's some genetically engineered beans going into this.
- 41:21[SPEAKER_05]: I don't like that.
- 41:23[SPEAKER_04]: Hey, I have a quick question.
- 41:25[SPEAKER_04]: Matt before you wrap up before you wrap up hasn't
- 41:28[SPEAKER_04]: has Ryan Mollie joined us in this life.
- 41:30[SPEAKER_02]: Mollie did join us and he's not in here.
- 41:33[SPEAKER_02]: He's not talking his normal Mollie trash, but I will say this to Mollie.
- 41:37[SPEAKER_02]: You all remember those cat headphones that Mollie gave me?
- 41:40[SPEAKER_04]: Sure.
- 41:41[SPEAKER_02]: Sold him on eBay.
- 41:43[SPEAKER_02]: You sold them on eBay.
- 41:45[SPEAKER_02]: Hold on crap.
- 41:47[SPEAKER_02]: The buy a new sports card CEO microphone with them.
- 41:50[SPEAKER_03]: Oh my god.
- 41:52[SPEAKER_03]: You flipped.
- 41:53[SPEAKER_03]: You flipped the gift.
- 41:55[SPEAKER_02]: Please cat headphones.
- 41:56[SPEAKER_04]: You flipped the cat.
- 41:57[SPEAKER_04]: You flipped the cat headphones.
- 42:00[SPEAKER_02]: That boy gives it to you.
- 42:01[SPEAKER_02]: Hey, when you're dealing with hand-housed sports, baby, you just don't know what you're dealing with.
- 42:06[SPEAKER_03]: It's hand-housed sports for every dollar matters.
- 42:09[SPEAKER_05]: I mean, let me just make this public proclamation.
- 42:12[SPEAKER_05]: He based sucks.
- 42:13[SPEAKER_05]: Let me just say that.
- 42:15[SPEAKER_05]: I hate you, eBay.
- 42:16[SPEAKER_05]: Let me just say that for the last three years.
- 42:19[SPEAKER_05]: Every time I'm about to buy a big card on eBay, it's fifteen twenty thousand dollars.
- 42:24[SPEAKER_05]: I get a message and it goes.
- 42:26[SPEAKER_05]: from time to time when you limit buying for safety purposes I'm like I've bought ten million dollars on your site in the last two years and you're limiting my purchases I can't I mean if this if this night gets going I mean eBay I hate you okay but you will never stop me from buying cards because the Bowman farmer never stops farming okay
- 42:52[SPEAKER_01]: That has to be clip.
- 42:53[SPEAKER_04]: That's good.
- 42:55[SPEAKER_03]: That's good.
- 42:55[SPEAKER_03]: That's content as he takes a swing and love it.
- 43:00[SPEAKER_01]: Okay.
- 43:00[SPEAKER_01]: Bye, cards up.
- 43:01[SPEAKER_01]: I love buying and land and I hate eBay.
- 43:05[SPEAKER_01]: I mean, I do.
- 43:06[SPEAKER_05]: I hate the fee bay.
- 43:07[SPEAKER_05]: You know, I used to feel kind of bad for you, eBay when all these people would pull people off their site and they would say from your fees.
- 43:15[SPEAKER_05]: Now I relish in it.
- 43:17[SPEAKER_05]: Now I relish in it.
- 43:18[SPEAKER_05]: I really, really do.
- 43:19[SPEAKER_01]: This is fantastic.
- 43:21[SPEAKER_01]: Guys, our feed right now is blowing up with people commenting.
- 43:26[SPEAKER_01]: Somebody said they're trying to stop the bubble monopoly.
- 43:33[SPEAKER_04]: They are not successful.
- 43:37[SPEAKER_01]: Yeah, you need a little monochrome and you're a little monopoly guy hat.
- 43:40[SPEAKER_01]: I hate them.
- 43:41[SPEAKER_05]: I mean, it's the worst.
- 43:42[SPEAKER_05]: If you're the CEO of eBay.
- 43:44[SPEAKER_05]: By the way, I've already started.
- 43:46[SPEAKER_05]: I've already started hitting them up on LinkedIn.
- 43:48[SPEAKER_05]: I've already found the CEOs heads of collectibles and all that for the company.
- 43:52[SPEAKER_05]: You need to reach out to me.
- 43:53[SPEAKER_05]: Your decisions are despicable.
- 43:55[SPEAKER_05]: You should reach out to me because I'm very angry.
- 43:58[SPEAKER_05]: I'm very, very angry.
- 44:00[SPEAKER_05]: And for me as a client, for as much money as I spent with you and as much money as I sold with you, you should reach out to me.
- 44:07[SPEAKER_05]: And I'm not too hard to find.
- 44:09[SPEAKER_05]: Bowman farmer on Instagram.
- 44:10[SPEAKER_05]: I'll probably be farming when you call and I might work time to call you back, but I'm by any other way, baby.
- 44:16[SPEAKER_05]: You will not stop the Bowman farmer from buying.
- 44:18[SPEAKER_03]: Started to hit him up on LinkedIn.
- 44:20[SPEAKER_03]: That was the best.
- 44:25[SPEAKER_03]: This started to hit him up on LinkedIn.
- 44:27[SPEAKER_01]: It's good.
- 44:29[SPEAKER_03]: Just good.
- 44:30[SPEAKER_02]: No, Molly.
- 44:31[SPEAKER_02]: Molly said the Mr. Kitty headphones need a charge and I said, Molly, we flipped your headphones on get rid of Obama.
- 44:39[SPEAKER_03]: Thank you, Molly for the new microphone for.
- 44:41[SPEAKER_02]: Thank you for the microphone.
- 44:42[SPEAKER_02]: I love your, I love your, all your jokes.
- 44:45[SPEAKER_02]: We have turned new, new gear for the handouts.
- 44:48[SPEAKER_02]: boys, this is hilarious.
- 44:49[SPEAKER_02]: This has been so much fun.
- 44:50[SPEAKER_02]: We we're gonna wrap up because I know where we can go with that little Matt goes.
- 44:54[SPEAKER_04]: No boys keep going dinner time for me, man.
- 44:57[SPEAKER_02]: You would eat dinner at ten thirty at night.
- 44:59[SPEAKER_04]: Dude, I mean, I had a day.
- 45:01[SPEAKER_04]: Dude, you did have a day.
- 45:02[SPEAKER_02]: We did have a day.
- 45:03[SPEAKER_02]: We did have a day.
- 45:03[SPEAKER_01]: We did have a day.
- 45:04[SPEAKER_01]: We did have a day.
- 45:04[SPEAKER_01]: We did have a day.
- 45:05[SPEAKER_02]: We did have a day.
- 45:05[SPEAKER_02]: We did have a day.
- 45:06[SPEAKER_02]: We did have a day.
- 45:06[SPEAKER_02]: We did have a day.
- 45:07[SPEAKER_02]: We did have a day.
- 45:08[SPEAKER_02]: We did have a day.
- 45:08[SPEAKER_04]: We did have a day.
- 45:09[SPEAKER_04]: We did have a day.
- 45:09[SPEAKER_04]: We did have a day.
- 45:10[SPEAKER_04]: We did have a day.
- 45:11[SPEAKER_04]: We did have a day.
- 45:11[SPEAKER_04]: We did have a day.
- 45:12[SPEAKER_04]: We did have a day.
- 45:12[SPEAKER_04]: We did have a day.
- 45:13[SPEAKER_04]: We did have a day.
- 45:14[SPEAKER_04]: We did have a day.
- 45:15[SPEAKER_05]: We did have a day.
- 45:15[SPEAKER_05]: We did have a day.
- 45:16[SPEAKER_05]: We did have a day.
- 45:16[SPEAKER_04]: We did have a day.
- 45:17[SPEAKER_04]: We did have
- 45:17[SPEAKER_05]: We all got final thoughts when somebody tries to slow me down in whether it's business, whether it's sports, whether it's any, I'm a competitor.
- 45:27[SPEAKER_05]: All right.
- 45:27[SPEAKER_05]: And it almost creates another gear.
- 45:30[SPEAKER_05]: And I was kind of sleepy.
- 45:31[SPEAKER_05]: The national was fun.
- 45:32[SPEAKER_05]: I was excited.
- 45:33[SPEAKER_05]: I was kind of happy.
- 45:34[SPEAKER_05]: But now you've made the pissed off boom and farmer.
- 45:37[SPEAKER_05]: I'm changing my name to the pissed off boom and farmer tomorrow.
- 45:40[SPEAKER_05]: Fish on Instagram because now you've woken a new side.
- 45:44[SPEAKER_05]: It's not a dark side.
- 45:45[SPEAKER_05]: It's just a whole freaking fired up side.
- 45:48[SPEAKER_05]: I'm buying every red and existence baby.
- 45:50[SPEAKER_05]: Kurn you called it out last week.
- 45:52[SPEAKER_05]: I'm on a mission now eBay.
- 45:54[SPEAKER_02]: You've done fired me up.
- 45:55[SPEAKER_02]: This is good.
- 45:57[SPEAKER_02]: You cannot stop the Bowman farmer from farming.
- 46:00[SPEAKER_02]: I won all the reds.
- 46:01[SPEAKER_01]: I got the reds of mine.
- 46:03[SPEAKER_05]: Can we really quick on our feet here?
- 46:06[SPEAKER_05]: If we've got some eBay hate, that's in the chat here.
- 46:09[SPEAKER_05]: Can you just have put one of those little hand emojis up real quick?
- 46:12[SPEAKER_05]: And I see how much fire or hands can fly up.
- 46:16[SPEAKER_05]: If eBay has done you wrong at some point, when it really made you upset, just show me a little bit of hate in the comments.
- 46:23[SPEAKER_05]: Just a couple little hands.
- 46:24[SPEAKER_05]: You can do a little hands up guy any kind of emoji here to know.
- 46:28[SPEAKER_05]: Am I the only one that eBay's frustrates?
- 46:31[SPEAKER_05]: I want to know.
- 46:32[SPEAKER_05]: It's all trick hits over here.
- 46:33[SPEAKER_05]: If it's trick hits, just put me a cricket up there.
- 46:36[SPEAKER_05]: I can see it.
- 46:36[SPEAKER_02]: Looking to our listeners to either put crickets or hands up in the chat if eBay.
- 46:42[SPEAKER_05]: A lot of fire.
- 46:42[SPEAKER_05]: Look at all that fire over there.
- 46:44[SPEAKER_02]: Somebody's throwing fire.
- 46:45[SPEAKER_05]: These are two damn high.
- 46:47[SPEAKER_05]: Yeah, hands up.
- 46:49[SPEAKER_05]: Okay.
- 46:49[SPEAKER_05]: There we go.
- 46:50[SPEAKER_05]: eBay offers or she forgot to insulting to be a driver.
- 46:56[SPEAKER_01]: He may offer some podcast members are in.
- 46:58[SPEAKER_05]: Thank you.
- 46:59[SPEAKER_05]: This show is sponsored by Rye Moly's earmuffs donations.
- 47:04[SPEAKER_05]: That bottle of urban paid for by Rye Moly's earmuffs.
- 47:07[SPEAKER_02]: Hey, we need to commit voice to having another sports car to see you after dark.
- 47:11[SPEAKER_02]: I think that this is the after hours episodes are unique in a cell.
- 47:16[SPEAKER_02]: So guys, we have a big special guest next week, right?
- 47:21[SPEAKER_02]: Yep.
- 47:21[SPEAKER_02]: Yep.
- 47:22[SPEAKER_02]: Yeah.
- 47:22[SPEAKER_02]: An ounce of ML beer.
- 47:23[SPEAKER_02]: Do you want to announce it, Colonel?
- 47:24[SPEAKER_02]: Yeah.
- 47:25[SPEAKER_04]: Go for it.
- 47:26[SPEAKER_04]: Yeah.
- 47:26[SPEAKER_02]: Boys and girls, we are going to have ret louder.
