Latest / OneLegUpAlex Media / My Thoughts on Crossing the T’s This Week
Transcript
- 0:01Here's your host, Alex Garrett. All right, Well, this week,
- 0:08as you know, I felt like I spent my time crossing the t's in
- 0:13hopes of dotting the eyes on the dotted line. What do I mean by
- 0:17that? Well, I crossed the tees with Tavern Community, who celebrates one
- 0:22year today. Wow, what a journey that's been for Ben Schwartz. And
- 0:27if you have listened to my prior one leg up show you'll know what I
- 0:30mean. And also travel to Talkin' Yanks with Aaron Boone Monday night. So
- 0:37yes, on Monday, I was crossing the t's in hopes that would give
- 0:41me confidence to dot the eyes and maybe sign a contract. See right now,
- 0:48I've crossed the t's and I look at this from a philosophical perspective.
- 0:52Sorry if that's boring, tea, but philosophically crossing the teas means I've done
- 0:56the first step to making sure that this podcast has more legs than I do.
- 1:03I am crossing the t's, whether it be with Tavern Community or Talking
- 1:07Yanks, and maybe out of all that it will give me the confidence to
- 1:15go up to someone and say, hey, invest in my show, invest
- 1:19in this podcast. Help me put this podcast on ready help me sign the
- 1:22dotted line, and I not through the communities, but you never know things
- 1:30like that could happen. So I looked at what I did Monday as outreach,
- 1:34as getting out there and spreading the message and the name of the one
- 1:40Leg Up brand because I believe in that brand. I am crossing the tees,
- 1:48not the two teas and Garrett, although that is kind of funny,
- 1:51crossing the t's in the name of networking and I think to that in one
- 2:00day and put in my full time work effort as well. It showed me
- 2:07the possibilities are there to not only live in the four walls of a full
- 2:13time job that I get to be on the air with and then I get
- 2:15to produce for and hold my editing skills, but then to break those walls,
- 2:21through those walls and expand branch out, go beyond and crossing the t's
- 2:30with tavern Yanks, tavern and talking Yanks, Now that's funny. Tavern Yanks,
- 2:34tavern and talking Yanks gave me the confidence to continue looking and searching for
- 2:40great guests, great ideas, great events to go to in hopes that maybe
- 2:46one day those eyes will be dotted and this podcast will be sponsored, and
- 2:53this podcast will be on the air. It just takes the right messaging,
- 2:55the right marketing. I hope to have Ryan on. He is a New
- 3:02York City local marketer. I encourage you to follow him as well at b
- 3:09Underscore de la Cruse. He does a lot of marketing and he told me,
- 3:15tell your story more. But to me, this podcast is about finding
- 3:20out how others have one leg up. I guess I show it by rollerblading
- 3:23every day, and I visually show you how to have one leg up in
- 3:29the city. But then there are others who are actually putting in the work,
- 3:32putting in the action and rising the ranks and getting that leg up in
- 3:37their industry that I want you to hear from. But for me to cross
- 3:42the t's with tavern community and talking Yanks the same day, different fields,
- 3:47but same kind of mindset of networking, of getting the brain out there,
- 3:51of meeting Aaron Boone, meeting the manager of the Yankees, I mean,
- 3:54that was so cool, and now it actually happened was really special. But
- 4:02in addition, in addition, I will say, it's given me the confidence
- 4:12to go out there and find someone will help me dot the i's. Now
- 4:16we've crossed the t's this week. Now, how do we get this podcast
- 4:21get on the dotal line and sign something remarkable that don't change this podcast,
- 4:27I don't boost this podcast in a reasonable way. That is what this week
- 4:35helped me get confidence with. And actually networking is always sort of like an
- 4:42extra step in the process. But if you have the confidence who go out
- 4:45there and roll lade or however you get to work, or ever you get
- 4:46to where you're going to these networking events, if you have that confidence to
- 4:50step out the door and say I'm gonna meet new people today, that's your
- 4:55first step in crossing your tea's. The old thing I'm going at is we
- 5:00all want to cross our t's and dot the i's and make sure everything's buttoned
- 5:03up. But to do that, you've got to take those steps. And
- 5:08it just happens that tavern community and talking youanks both have teas. So I
- 5:13crossed those te's and pushing toward dotting those eyes and putting this podcast further out
- 5:21on the map. That is a goal for twenty twenty four. And I
- 5:26posted today at three pm. Because of the power of three, the energy
- 5:29of three Buddy Harrison took a land in Suffolk County and made it a venue
- 5:35where nine million people get to watch baseball and root on the ducks. And
- 5:46he only wore the number three. So that energy of number three is carrying
- 5:50me this year, and maybe that idea of all right, we've crossed the
- 5:56t's literally with tavern community and talk Yanks. Now we've got to take that
- 6:01confidence. Say hey, sign me up. You want me to cover events?
- 6:04Help me? I can help you. Sign me up. I'd like
- 6:10to dot the eyes. I'd like to dot the eyes on the dotted line
- 6:14if you will, though there's no eye in my name. You get the
- 6:16point. We've crossed the t's. Now we take that confidence as a podcast.
- 6:30I take that confidence as a podcaster and work to dot the eyes and
- 6:34sign the dotted line to something bigger and better on the Alex Garrett Podcast Network.
- 6:42We'll talk to you soon.
