- 0:02Speaker 1: It's a Thursday.
- 0:03Speaker 2: It's a really good guest list. We do not leave
- 0:06Speaker 2: any stones unturned on FT. If you want us to
- 0:09Speaker 2: cover it, we're gonna cover it. Dodger's story, We're gonna
- 0:13Speaker 2: cover it fair foul. I actually want to make sure
- 0:16Speaker 2: we have a lot of time for that, guys, So
- 0:19Speaker 2: if you don't mind, we're going to charge nice and
- 0:22Speaker 2: early today to make sure we get full thoughts on
- 0:25Speaker 2: what's going on and how it could possibly be the
- 0:28Speaker 2: reason why the Orioles don't make the playoffs. You laugh now,
- 0:31Speaker 2: but there's a chance Baltimore misses the postseason by one game.
- 0:36Speaker 2: Even if they miss it by two games, they can
- 0:37Speaker 2: look at the Brian Baker asset that they traded away,
- 0:40Speaker 2: shut them down for five.
- 0:41Speaker 1: Hours the other day, and then this loss. So let's charge.
- 0:47Speaker 3: Charge out.
- 0:51Speaker 1: Okay.
- 0:51Speaker 2: I want to get quick thoughts from you guys, and
- 0:53Speaker 2: then we'll start to unravel some pictures, video and sound. Kevin,
- 0:59Speaker 2: what is fair or foul in baseball? And why can't
- 1:02Speaker 2: we figure it out with all of the technology that
- 1:04Speaker 2: we have in the world.
- 1:06Speaker 4: Well, you know what it made me initially think about,
- 1:09Speaker 4: what did Austin Power say we need sharks? With freaking
- 1:12Speaker 4: laser beams. I think it's about time we get some
- 1:15Speaker 4: laser beams on top of these foul poles.
- 1:18Speaker 1: Doctor Ebel, it's already yeah, yeah.
- 1:21Speaker 4: And I'll bring it. We need sharks with freaking laser beams.
- 1:26Speaker 5: Yeah. But wouldn't that be one million dollars? Isn't that what?
- 1:30Speaker 6: There?
- 1:30Speaker 5: Isn't that what Major leag Baseball was afraid of thirty
- 1:32Speaker 5: million dollars for laser beams on our on our fair poles.
- 1:36Speaker 5: They're not foul poles or fair poles. They're not foul poles.
- 1:41Speaker 5: No one has ever hit hey fair pole and they
- 1:45Speaker 5: called it foul. It's a fair pole.
- 1:49Speaker 1: Explain to me the images hereocrats.
- 1:52Speaker 5: Well, on the left for everybody listening, we have the
- 1:55Speaker 5: fat fair pole, the fair pole and camping yards, the
- 1:59Speaker 5: ball clearly going over it. And then on the right
- 2:02Speaker 5: picture we have the ball clearly staying to the right
- 2:08Speaker 5: of it, which is a fair ball down the left
- 2:10Speaker 5: field line.
- 2:11Speaker 2: Well, this was ruled foul, and then KP the MLB
- 2:16Speaker 2: replay command center in New York City, said call stands
- 2:20Speaker 2: can't figure.
- 2:21Speaker 1: It out the exact quote.
- 2:24Speaker 2: After viewing all relevant angles, the replay official could not
- 2:27Speaker 2: definitively determine that the ball left the playing field in
- 2:30Speaker 2: fair territory, the call stands, and it is a foul ball.
- 2:36Speaker 4: Well in fairness to that. Once it goes over the
- 2:39Speaker 4: fair pool or foul pool, however you want to call it,
- 2:42Speaker 4: it's a little bit of a gray area. And I
- 2:43Speaker 4: think that's where we're at a point where the technology
- 2:46Speaker 4: is so advanced, not only in our game now, but
- 2:49Speaker 4: these other games you watch. Think about what they do
- 2:51Speaker 4: in tennis, and I started to think about how tennis
- 2:54Speaker 4: can do it in real time with serves and they're
- 2:56Speaker 4: serving the ball harder than this ball is actually being hit,
- 2:59Speaker 4: so they have the ability to do that. Yes, I
- 3:02Speaker 4: know that the tennis court, the lines don't move, well
- 3:05Speaker 4: either does the foul pole. The foul pole never moves.
- 3:08Speaker 4: The chalk lines up and down the first baseline, the
- 3:11Speaker 4: third base line they never move either. I do think
- 3:14Speaker 4: it's time that we implement this type of technology. And yes,
- 3:18Speaker 4: it's gonna cost them a good amount of money, but
- 3:21Speaker 4: this is also players' livelihoods. And I know it's not
- 3:24Speaker 4: gonna like change a lot for pete a Longso this
- 3:26Speaker 4: guy's signed up for a lot of money, But a
- 3:28Speaker 4: lot of players, the difference between hitting a home run
- 3:31Speaker 4: and getting out is massive in their career. And yes,
- 3:35Speaker 4: you're gonna say it's one at bat, it's one game,
- 3:38Speaker 4: but like you mentioned, you know at the start of
- 3:40Speaker 4: this show, this could be the difference in the Orioles
- 3:43Speaker 4: making the playoffs and not making the playoffs.
- 3:46Speaker 5: We can't get it wrong. That's it. Humans get this wrong.
- 3:49Speaker 5: I don't blame the replay people. I don't blame necessarily
- 3:54Speaker 5: the people on the umpires on the field. I blame
- 4:00Speaker 5: the lack of why we don't have it. I blame
- 4:03Speaker 5: the corporate reason for why we don't have it. Well,
- 4:07Speaker 5: you know this, I saw the original Hawk Guy back
- 4:12Speaker 5: in twenty twelve when they were gonna think about doing
- 4:16Speaker 5: a review on fare and foul balls, and the tennis
- 4:19Speaker 5: stuff did not work because tennis works because of the
- 4:24Speaker 5: fact that it's hardcourt and you see, like the line
- 4:27Speaker 5: is like this big from a ball that just bounces,
- 4:30Speaker 5: so this is in and out, and like it wouldn't
- 4:33Speaker 5: work on grass because at some of the some of
- 4:35Speaker 5: the tests that they did, the line was three foot
- 4:38Speaker 5: long and you're like, well, what is it tracking? It's
- 4:42Speaker 5: tracking the fact that it's seeing the grass move. So
- 4:45Speaker 5: we don't have that on foul balls. The worst thing
- 4:48Speaker 5: you could have, the easiest thing would be a camera
- 4:50Speaker 5: angle either pointed straight up or straight down the line,
- 4:53Speaker 5: because the pictures that we just looked at, they're not
- 4:56Speaker 5: even definitive to me because you don't know where that
- 4:59Speaker 5: pictures being take from. It's not directly down the third
- 5:02Speaker 5: baseline or first baseline.

- 5:59Speaker 2: the number twelve dot com slash foul. K twelve dot
- 6:03Speaker 2: com slash foul. On this show, we have former players
- 6:06Speaker 2: every single day telling it like it is. Current players
- 6:09Speaker 2: sometimes have to be careful about what they say. Not
- 6:12Speaker 2: in this case, let's go with Pete Alnzo first.
- 6:16Speaker 7: Well, I mean we have we have hawkeye.
- 6:19Speaker 3: I think a simple fix is like football, you have
- 6:22Speaker 3: the pylon camera like with with the plane where it
- 6:26Speaker 3: shoots right across the goal line. And I feel like
- 6:29Speaker 3: for us, we could easily have a laser or a
- 6:32Speaker 3: camera that shoots straight up.
- 6:34Speaker 7: I mean, for me, I'm not the only one.
- 6:36Speaker 3: It happens all the time to a bunch of guys
- 6:38Speaker 3: throughout the course of the year.
- 6:40Speaker 7: It happens a lot during the season.
- 6:41Speaker 3: Obviously, this is a big game in division, so obviously
- 6:45Speaker 3: this one's going to be a little bit more amplified.
- 6:46Speaker 3: But this happens quite a few times throughout the season,
- 6:50Speaker 3: more than you would think. And I think having a
- 6:53Speaker 3: camera or laser shooting straight up. I mean, we have
- 6:55Speaker 3: all the technology, analytics in the in whatever and funds.
- 7:01Speaker 7: I mean, this is a I don't I don't see
- 7:04Speaker 7: why we can't do it.
- 7:04Speaker 3: But the reason why I've told it we can't do
- 7:08Speaker 3: it is because every ballpark is different, and that is
- 7:13Speaker 3: every ballpark is unique. It's not the same dimensions everywhere.
- 7:16Speaker 3: So that's that's my understanding of it. Obviously, it sucks
- 7:21Speaker 3: for us. It sucks, Yeah, sucks, but is what it is.
- 7:26Speaker 3: And the umpire umpire and then the umpire made the
- 7:29Speaker 3: call on the field, and and the UH in the
- 7:32Speaker 3: review room like stood stood with that called. And that's
- 7:34Speaker 3: that's what we have to live with. A move on,
- 7:36Speaker 3: and we have to as a team and individually bear
- 7:39Speaker 3: down and.
- 7:40Speaker 7: And and respond respond to adversity.
- 7:44Speaker 2: Peat on fire lately he's missing the home run though.
- 7:48Speaker 2: His teammate Chris Bassett said quote on why this hasn't
- 7:53Speaker 2: happened the fair foul technology quote because it would cost money.
- 7:57Speaker 7: That's it.
- 7:57Speaker 1: I mean, that's literally it.
- 7:59Speaker 2: You ask every fan of this game that's a true fan,
- 8:01Speaker 2: every single fan would want those cameras. If you ask
- 8:04Speaker 2: every single player, they would want those cameras. If you
- 8:07Speaker 2: ask every coach, they want the cameras. It costs money.
- 8:11Speaker 1: That's it.
- 8:11Speaker 2: That's literally it end quote. John Hayman, Insider tweeted. MLB
- 8:19Speaker 2: has a system that can show if a pitch misses
- 8:22Speaker 2: the plate or is high or low by a quarter
- 8:25Speaker 2: of an inch, but nothing that definitively shows whether it
- 8:28Speaker 2: would be home run, is fair or foul.
- 8:30Speaker 1: That's unfortunate. Balls don't lie on x PGA.
- 8:36Speaker 2: That ball went one hundred and seventy four point three
- 8:38Speaker 2: miles an hour off the tee with a fifteen foot
- 8:40Speaker 2: left to right fate. He swung his club one hundred
- 8:43Speaker 2: nineteen point two miles an hour. It landed three hundred
- 8:45Speaker 2: and eleven yards away. MLB, How the bleep are we
- 8:49Speaker 2: supposed to know where that ball went?
- 8:58Speaker 5: Well?
- 8:58Speaker 4: I think about you know, I've I've seen it, especially
- 9:01Speaker 4: like in Wrigley Feel certain days where it's windy, and
- 9:04Speaker 4: they could tell you, hey, without the win, this ball
- 9:06Speaker 4: would have gone X. But with the win factor it
- 9:09Speaker 4: would have gone this far. And I agree with everything
- 9:13Speaker 4: Pete's saying. He's spot on. You know, before I even
- 9:17Speaker 4: heard him say that, I came out said we need
- 9:19Speaker 4: either cameras or lasers that are going up there. These
- 9:22Speaker 4: foul poles weren't designed for how big and strong and
- 9:27Speaker 4: fast these players. If today's games are, they're hitting them
- 9:29Speaker 4: way over these foul poles now. But you know whether
- 9:33Speaker 4: you want to implement those cameras because those cost money.
- 9:36Speaker 4: But at the very least, I feel like you can
- 9:38Speaker 4: do a simple math equation. We could figure out like
- 9:41Speaker 4: John Hayman was purporting, we could figure out a pitch
- 9:45Speaker 4: to the fourth of an inch. We could figure out, hey,
- 9:47Speaker 4: if the wind wasn't blown out southeast direction at thirty
- 9:50Speaker 4: six miles an hour, the ball would have gone X.
- 9:52Speaker 4: You're telling me you couldn't run a math equation to
- 9:55Speaker 4: figure out if that ball was fair or foul. We
- 9:57Speaker 4: have all the data on the ball, the way it's spinning,
- 10:00Speaker 4: we know how far the ball went, we know how
- 10:03Speaker 4: hard the ball was hit off the bat. We have
- 10:06Speaker 4: all the numbers. You can calculate it very simply. I
- 10:09Speaker 4: would hope it doesn't come down to a mathematical formula,
- 10:12Speaker 4: but that is something you have in your back pocket too.
- 10:14Speaker 4: It really just comes down to the excuse that every
- 10:18Speaker 4: ballpark is different. I'll tell you what isn't different the
- 10:20Speaker 4: location of the foul poles. Yes, every stadium has different dimensions,
- 10:24Speaker 4: but those foul poles don't move. So to me, it's
- 10:26Speaker 4: just an excuse why they won't spend money to get
- 10:29Speaker 4: these things right.
- 10:30Speaker 5: I think I think, yeah, I mean, I definitely think
- 10:33Speaker 5: it's a no brainer. I think it's a it's a
- 10:36Speaker 5: poor excuse. But the reality is, and Bassett said it,
- 10:42Speaker 5: everybody wants this to be right. Even the umpires want
- 10:46Speaker 5: it to be right. No umpires like, yeah, I'm definitely
- 10:48Speaker 5: going to try to call this foul if they hit
- 10:50Speaker 5: a home run. No way, no way, anybody's going to
- 10:53Speaker 5: try to do that. Everybody wants it to be right.
- 10:56Speaker 5: And if it is money, that could possibly cause the
- 11:00Speaker 5: Orioles to not make it into the playoffs. Because that's
- 11:03Speaker 5: the reality of it. That's why we all want it right.
- 11:05Speaker 5: That's why all players, umpires, coaches, everything, playoffs can lean
- 11:10Speaker 5: and sway on this last year we were Major League
- 11:15Speaker 5: Baseball was at Steinbrenner Field because of the hurricane. They're
- 11:18Speaker 5: at a minor league facility and Aaron Judge hit one
- 11:22Speaker 5: over that foul pole. Now we're at a big league
- 11:24Speaker 5: facility and it happened again this year. If somebody says
- 11:30Speaker 5: one game doesn't matter, Ah, they lost by two runs,
- 11:34Speaker 5: it doesn't. You know, you don't know that it would
- 11:35Speaker 5: have changed.
- 11:37Speaker 7: You're right.
- 11:37Speaker 5: I don't know if it would have changed the outcome
- 11:39Speaker 5: of that game, But I do know that if it
- 11:42Speaker 5: would have, it could change the outcome of the entire season,
- 11:46Speaker 5: could change the outcome of the entire playoffs, because the
- 11:49Speaker 5: way that pitchers for the Orioles are pitching right now,
- 11:52Speaker 5: the guys who they're getting back in their bullpen, Orioles
- 11:55Speaker 5: could make a run in a pretty bad American league.
- 11:58Speaker 5: And I'm just so against somehow punting on an opportunity
- 12:05Speaker 5: to make the playoffs or missing the playoffs by one
- 12:08Speaker 5: game when it's something that could be avoidable.
- 12:13Speaker 2: The technology exists, That's what we keep saying in different ways.
- 12:20Speaker 2: The technology exists. The sport is worth many billions of dollars.
- 12:28Speaker 2: It makes many billions of dollars in revenue per year.
- 12:31Speaker 2: Here's what I want to see, like, how do we
- 12:33Speaker 2: learn from this KP to take the next step going forward?
- 12:36Speaker 2: You know what I'd like to see this is entertainment, right,
- 12:39Speaker 2: This sport exists because fans love to watch it in
- 12:42Speaker 2: consume it. All I ask for is somebody to come
- 12:45Speaker 2: out with a real statement. Hey, fans, you know what.
- 12:49Speaker 1: You're right.
- 12:49Speaker 2: It is messed up that we can't tell if it's
- 12:51Speaker 2: fair and foul. Yet we can do AI on pitch tipping.
- 12:54Speaker 2: We have ninety million people working in analytics in front offices.
- 12:57Speaker 2: All great, how come we can't tell fair or foul? Well,
- 13:00Speaker 2: we haven't set it up yet. Does the technology exist yes,
- 13:03Speaker 2: one thousand percent yes. Will we fix it immediately yes?
- 13:07Speaker 2: Can we do it tomorrow? Probably not. Will it be
- 13:09Speaker 2: implemented for the twenty twenty seven season whenever that starts.
- 13:12Speaker 1: Yes, that's all people want to see. You won't get anything.
- 13:16Speaker 2: All you get is oh, I didn't have the angles,
- 13:17Speaker 2: and then you're gonna forget about it in twenty four
- 13:20Speaker 2: to forty eight hours because something else will catch your attention.
- 13:24Speaker 4: No, I know we're not going to get a response
- 13:25Speaker 4: like that, but I was when you mentioned entertainment factor.
- 13:28Speaker 4: That's what I was thinking, like, we're trying to make
- 13:31Speaker 4: the game more entertaining, and the child system has been
- 13:34Speaker 4: very entertaining. I don't know if you've been in the stadium.
- 13:37Speaker 4: I know Cratzy. You've been to some games, but when
- 13:39Speaker 4: that challenge happens as a spectator, it is exciting, it's quick.
- 13:43Speaker 4: You know, it adds to the entertainment value of the game.
- 13:47Speaker 4: You're telling me this would not you know, and I
- 13:49Speaker 4: know this is not a play that happens all that often,
- 13:51Speaker 4: but it happens enough where if it does happen, and
- 13:55Speaker 4: typically a fair or foul ball, a fair or foul
- 13:58Speaker 4: home run is a pretty pivotal part of the game.
- 14:01Speaker 4: It could change, you know, the outcome of the game
- 14:04Speaker 4: if you have the ability to have a camera and
- 14:07Speaker 4: show it in real time, and you know, bands looking
- 14:11Speaker 4: at the screen kind of leaning waiting to see the outcome,
- 14:14Speaker 4: and then instantaneously you're getting a result fair or foul,
- 14:17Speaker 4: you know, a line, a shadow, a ball or something.
- 14:20Speaker 4: I think that's what I think, that's what Major League
- 14:22Speaker 4: Baseball wants to is to increase the entertainment value of
- 14:26Speaker 4: the game, especially when people are going to the game
- 14:29Speaker 4: and buying a ticket and coming to the game, and
- 14:31Speaker 4: then for people watching at home, we want more entertainment too,
- 14:34Speaker 4: So I think it's a no brainer major League Baseball.
- 14:37Speaker 4: It's definitely not going to give us an answer. They're
- 14:39Speaker 4: not going to give us a solution to this immediately.
- 14:42Speaker 4: They're going to wait for this new cycle to change,
- 14:44Speaker 4: and it's going to be forgotten until it happens again.
- 14:47Speaker 4: But hopefully, players, I know, you know, we have a
- 14:50Speaker 4: lot of bigger things or not, we the players have
- 14:53Speaker 4: a lot bigger things to kind of discuss in the
- 14:56Speaker 4: next the upcoming CBA. But hopefully this is something that
- 15:00Speaker 4: they can bring up in addition to all the other
- 15:02Speaker 4: things that they need to improve.
- 15:04Speaker 1: They need to add it to the punch list. Lasers
- 15:09Speaker 1: freaking lasers, man.
- 15:11Speaker 5: Lasers and sharks. Add that to the punch list. No
- 15:14Speaker 5: salary cap, get the non spending teams to spend, and lasers.
- 15:22Speaker 1: Lasers for foul and fair balls.
- 15:25Speaker 2: Some fans Orioles fans that are heated in the chat
- 15:27Speaker 2: today are like they had the evidence video like, well,
- 15:29Speaker 2: they don't think the video showed them the evidence they needed,
- 15:32Speaker 2: right and and other people feel that way too. So
- 15:34Speaker 2: if that's the case, there's a way to do this
- 15:38Speaker 2: very very structurally sound.
- 15:41Speaker 1: Yes, no, just like the challenge system.
- 15:44Speaker 4: Well in addition to that too, because I do think
- 15:47Speaker 4: it's a weird thing in baseball that you can't argue
- 15:50Speaker 4: a ball in front of the basis, so I think
- 15:52Speaker 4: it should just be the entire baselines. And yes, you
- 15:55Speaker 4: know chalk wears some stuff, but the idea of the
- 15:58Speaker 4: baselines never moved, you know, from the corner of the
- 16:01Speaker 4: plate to the foul pole. So the fact that we
- 16:03Speaker 4: can't even challenge balls that technically are in front of
- 16:06Speaker 4: third base or first base is also wild to me.
- 16:12Speaker 2: Sounds like we have some segments to do in the
- 16:14Speaker 2: off season, but any other thoughts, anything else we're missing.
- 16:17Speaker 1: Let us think we can.
- 16:18Speaker 4: Get on a I think we can get on a
- 16:19Speaker 4: shirt with a foul just a foul pole with some lasers, a.
- 16:24Speaker 1: Fair pole with lasers, fair pool with lasers and sharks. Yep,
- 16:29Speaker 1: we can work on that for it.
- 16:31Speaker 4: Fairpool with laser.
- 16:34Speaker 5: Lasers, the shark.
- 16:38Speaker 2: Hey, time to take a look ahead, like I just mentioned,
- 16:40Speaker 2: and Sea Geek's helping us out with this. There's only
- 16:42Speaker 2: a few night games, so if you're looking to hit
- 16:44Speaker 2: a game and you're listening to this right now, there's
- 16:46Speaker 2: probably only three opportunities for you, although follow up to
- 16:49Speaker 2: Yankees Orioles is.
- 16:51Speaker 1: A good one on the list.
- 16:53Speaker 2: But also we can start to take a look at
- 16:54Speaker 2: the weekend too before I do that. Anything you want
- 16:58Speaker 2: to throw out there that you'd like to grab a
- 16:59Speaker 2: seat to.
- 17:02Speaker 4: Mm, probably I'd probably go to the Oriole Yankee game.
- 17:06Speaker 4: After everything that happened yesterday. I'd love to see how
- 17:08Speaker 4: the Orioles kind of bounce back. Anytime you get a
- 17:11Speaker 4: chance to watch a guy like Garrett Cole pitch, I'm
- 17:13Speaker 4: all for it.
- 17:16Speaker 5: Yeah, I mean, you gotta look ahead. I'm looking ahead
- 17:18Speaker 5: to the weekend because I'm not going to any games
- 17:21Speaker 5: on the out the rain out opportunity here on the
- 17:24Speaker 5: East Coast. I just think there is you know, I
- 17:29Speaker 5: think there's some you know something leading into this series
- 17:33Speaker 5: where the Jays are going to play the Yankees in
- 17:35Speaker 5: New York. The Yankees have to solidify themselves with or
- 17:39Speaker 5: without Aaron Judge, and I think the Blue Jays are, like,
- 17:43Speaker 5: you know what, we dominated this team last year. I
- 17:45Speaker 5: think this is the time we can come in and
- 17:46Speaker 5: pounce on a series. So I'm getting a ticket to
- 17:50Speaker 5: the to the Bronx for this weekend Friday as soon
- 17:53Speaker 5: as the Jay's coming down.
- 17:56Speaker 1: I know what I'm doing Friday if I could. It's
- 17:58Speaker 1: my dream scenario.
- 18:00Speaker 2: That's what we do here with the Sea Geek segment,
- 18:03Speaker 2: I would be shipping my way over to Milwaukee to
- 18:06Speaker 2: watch Chris Sale and Jacob Mizerski matchup.
- 18:09Speaker 1: That's a good one.
- 18:11Speaker 2: You might be out. You might have to make sure
- 18:12Speaker 2: you get there early. That could be a two hour,
- 18:16Speaker 2: ten minute game something like that. Right, that's probably gonna
- 18:19Speaker 2: go under the average if those guys are doing what
- 18:21Speaker 2: they should do twenty punches.
- 18:24Speaker 4: I was gonna say, I wonder what the over under
- 18:26Speaker 4: on collective punches in that game is. It's gotta be
- 18:30Speaker 4: it's gonna be a lot.
- 18:32Speaker 7: Those guys punch ticket and.
- 18:34Speaker 5: I think those guys, I think punch out guys. I
- 18:36Speaker 5: think guys get strikeouts kind of like almost feed off
- 18:40Speaker 5: each other. I'm not saying Sale might not, but I
- 18:42Speaker 5: think I think miss may miss be like, wait, what
- 18:45Speaker 5: he struck out the side? I want to strike out
- 18:47Speaker 5: the side? What has he got seven? I won eight?
- 18:50Speaker 5: Wait he's got nine? Now I won ten? Like I think,
- 18:52Speaker 5: and Sale will just be like, oh I need a
- 18:54Speaker 5: strike out. Yeah, Snider.
- 18:57Speaker 1: Strikeouts are contagious, just like hitting. It can just is
- 19:00Speaker 1: that what you're saying.
- 19:01Speaker 5: I feel it. I feel it, and they're competitive. Two
- 19:04Speaker 5: of the best pitchers in the National League this year.
- 19:07Speaker 1: So if you want to go hit that game or
- 19:08Speaker 1: others this weekend, ten percent off MLB tickets when you
- 19:11Speaker 1: use the promo code Territory ten. It's there for you
- 19:14Speaker 1: all season.
- 19:14Speaker 2: Make sure you click the link in the description to
- 19:16Speaker 2: download the seat geek ap and have the code automatically
- 19:18Speaker 2: added to your.
- 19:19Speaker 1: Account so that you can use it later.
- 19:22Speaker 2: Hey, spot track with this little note about Max Munsey
- 19:25Speaker 2: going past four hundred played appearances this season. He has
- 19:28Speaker 2: a unique incentive package fifteen thousand dollars for every plate
- 19:32Speaker 2: appearance from four oh one to five fifty, and then
- 19:35Speaker 2: his twenty twenty seven salary bumps up twenty thousand dollars
- 19:38Speaker 2: for each plate appearance from four to one to five
- 19:41Speaker 2: hundred and thirty five thousand dollars from five oh one
- 19:44Speaker 2: to five fifty. A healthy season out of monthy KP
- 19:48Speaker 2: is making him some dough every time he's got a
- 19:51Speaker 2: plate appearance, especially played appearance, not a b because he
- 19:53Speaker 2: walks a lot to ching fifteen k take your base.
- 19:57Speaker 4: Oh, I'm changing my walk up song, say money, money
- 19:59Speaker 4: mone every time I'm going up, just reminding myself I'm
- 20:03Speaker 4: getting paid for every one of these at bats, additional
- 20:06Speaker 4: to what I've already getting paid. But I don't think
- 20:08Speaker 4: Max Munsey gets enough credit. Man like he he's, you know,
- 20:11Speaker 4: one of those guys. Obviously, the Dodgers have so much
- 20:14Speaker 4: talent on that team. But Max Munsey is such a
- 20:17Speaker 4: valuable player, you know, well deserving of being an All
- 20:20Speaker 4: Star again this year. I know he's a friend of
- 20:22Speaker 4: the show, but I don't think he gets enough love,
- 20:25Speaker 4: you know. He He's a guy who struggled early in
- 20:27Speaker 4: his career, has turned himself into a multiple time All Star,
- 20:30Speaker 4: been able to play kind of all over the Diamond,
- 20:32Speaker 4: has really settled into third base, and the Dodgers are
- 20:36Speaker 4: so much better when he is healthy and in their lineup.
- 20:40Speaker 5: He has never had a negative war season when he's
- 20:42Speaker 5: been with the Dodgers, and the Dodgers bet on the
- 20:44Speaker 5: fact that last two seasons he didn't get over four
- 20:46Speaker 5: hundred at bats. He's a chance to make if he
- 20:49Speaker 5: only gets five hundred and fifty plate appearance early appearances
- 20:53Speaker 5: two point two five extra millionw it.
- 20:56Speaker 2: Max Wilson can Treres making noise shocker. Tim Healey talking
- 21:03Speaker 2: about the Red Sox electricity uh and a guy who's
- 21:07Speaker 2: done a lot for this team this year, but also
- 21:09Speaker 2: was going at it with someone in the dugout after
- 21:12Speaker 2: his ground out in the tenth and then that kept
- 21:14Speaker 2: going beyond the last that bat of the game.
- 21:16Speaker 1: So what was it about Wilson?
- 21:19Speaker 7: Yeah, and then nothing was into dinner. I was like no,
- 21:23Speaker 7: I was like, nah, I'm good with that. Huh where dinner?
- 21:30Speaker 7: Didn't He didn't name any specific play or for a restaurant.
- 21:34Speaker 1: So thank you.
- 21:37Speaker 2: Actually crave answers like that post game sometimes to just
- 21:40Speaker 2: have fun with it.
- 21:42Speaker 7: Maybe he was giving him bad fantasy.
- 21:44Speaker 2: Advice, We're just bad life advice, telling him to like
- 21:49Speaker 2: go balls to the wall on every ground ball when
- 21:52Speaker 2: he is potentially a little bit banged up and he's
- 21:54Speaker 2: just trying to play every day because he's better than
- 21:57Speaker 2: who would be replacing him.
- 22:00Speaker 4: It's so true because you know, there's a lot of
- 22:02Speaker 4: things that are kept from the fan base, you know,
- 22:05Speaker 4: in terms of like how we actually feel. And when
- 22:07Speaker 4: you're an everyday player and you get to this point
- 22:09Speaker 4: of the season, you're not going to come out and
- 22:11Speaker 4: name every bump and bruise and soreness that you have.
- 22:15Speaker 4: When you've been able to play for a long time
- 22:17Speaker 4: this game. You understand when you're out, you're out when
- 22:20Speaker 4: you've got to push it down the line. But most importantly,
- 22:23Speaker 4: a lot of the success of the Red Sox comes
- 22:25Speaker 4: from him being on the field. So sometimes you got
- 22:28Speaker 4: to let the fans have it a little bit, you know,
- 22:30Speaker 4: if you do in the in the right way. You know,
- 22:32Speaker 4: obviously he made a scene. That's why we're talking about it.
- 22:35Speaker 4: But you know, every once in a while, what happens,
- 22:39Speaker 4: it's all part.
- 22:40Speaker 5: It's all part good.
- 22:48Speaker 2: Hot corunner time. The Catel Marte saga continues. So we
- 22:52Speaker 2: will show you a little bit of updated quote sound
- 22:55Speaker 2: from Tory Labello, the manager of the Diamondbacks. Let's start
- 22:59Speaker 2: with Jody Jackson, who's a reporter on the Diamondbacks, and
- 23:02Speaker 2: her tweet in regards to Mike Hays and who runs
- 23:04Speaker 2: the front office. He was noncommittal on whether Kateel Marte
- 23:08Speaker 2: will return this year. He did say he was hopeful
- 23:11Speaker 2: he plans to talk to him face to face tomorrow.
- 23:13Speaker 2: This came out yesterday, so we should have more news
- 23:16Speaker 2: coming soon on what happens with Marte down the stretch
- 23:19Speaker 2: here for a team that damn really needs him right now,
- 23:24Speaker 2: Let's do this sound first and then we'll react to it.
- 23:27Speaker 2: So Tory Lavello has to deal with these questions. He
- 23:30Speaker 2: doesn't have a lot to give because I don't think
- 23:32Speaker 2: he knows a ton of information yet, and it doesn't
- 23:34Speaker 2: sound like there's a lot of communication going on with
- 23:36Speaker 2: the team and with Katl. We hope that he's okay, right,
- 23:40Speaker 2: and we put that as a blanket statement, but eventually,
- 23:43Speaker 2: hopefully we'll get some word on what's going on here.
- 23:45Speaker 2: They've said personal matter plus the knee, which he flew
- 23:48Speaker 2: back to Arizona for. Here's Toy on his latest questioning
- 23:51Speaker 2: and his answers.
- 23:54Speaker 7: I don't know.
- 23:54Speaker 6: Maybe I can answer for answer that question tomorrow, but
- 23:57Speaker 6: uh yeah, maybe a little bit different. I had a
- 24:02Speaker 6: little heads up last year.
- 24:04Speaker 7: I didn't have a heads up this year where you.
- 24:06Speaker 6: Want to go, yeah, well, we're gonna be fine no
- 24:10Speaker 6: matter who's in that lineup.
- 24:12Speaker 7: And we.
- 24:15Speaker 6: Got twenty six engaged dogs out there that want to
- 24:17Speaker 6: win a baseball game, and that's all I care about.
- 24:22Speaker 6: And I will put in the best players that I
- 24:24Speaker 6: possibly can that are going to focus and execute to
- 24:27Speaker 6: win baseball games. This is a big boy league. And
- 24:31Speaker 6: you gotta win baseball games, and that's what we do
- 24:33Speaker 6: every single night. We try to win every game we play.
- 24:36Speaker 1: I feel for Toy. I'd known Toy for years. I've
- 24:39Speaker 1: covered him for a long time.
- 24:40Speaker 2: He's been in the game for a while KP and
- 24:42Speaker 2: he's definitely a big family guy. Tries to get to
- 24:44Speaker 2: know everybody on a personal level with as much as
- 24:46Speaker 2: they'll give. Obviously, you give people their space, so this
- 24:50Speaker 2: must be killing him a little bit.
- 24:51Speaker 1: Of course, it's hurting the team.
- 24:52Speaker 2: He can't get much information to really be too helpful
- 24:55Speaker 2: behind the scenes. And this was his reaction that we
- 24:58Speaker 2: were listening to in regards to people asking how different
- 25:01Speaker 2: this was this year versus last year when Katel skipped
- 25:04Speaker 2: out for a little bit of time, and Toy was
- 25:06Speaker 2: kind of saying, how he got more of a heads
- 25:08Speaker 2: up last year and this year sounds like more of
- 25:10Speaker 2: a blitz.
- 25:11Speaker 5: Yeah.
- 25:12Speaker 4: First of all, I mean, he's been a game a
- 25:13Speaker 4: long time. I never really kind of came across to him.
- 25:16Speaker 4: I never got a chance to play for him. But
- 25:18Speaker 4: after that, what he was just saying, he had me
- 25:19Speaker 4: fired up. I was kind of looking around to see
- 25:21Speaker 4: if I still had some cleats that fit, like, I'm
- 25:23Speaker 4: ready to go play for him, and you can understand
- 25:25Speaker 4: why guys love playing for him. Just in that short clip,
- 25:29Speaker 4: he got me motivated to want to go out and
- 25:31Speaker 4: try to win.
- 25:32Speaker 1: A game for him.
- 25:32Speaker 4: But you know, I think we it's hard to comment
- 25:36Speaker 4: on everything until they actually have that face to face comment,
- 25:39Speaker 4: but I think you could read between the lines he's
- 25:42Speaker 4: not happy with the situation. You know, we don't really
- 25:46Speaker 4: have a report on actually what's wrong with the knee,
- 25:48Speaker 4: but the big issues here the lack of communication. When
- 25:51Speaker 4: you feel like you've built that trust with the player
- 25:54Speaker 4: that you've been with for a long time and they
- 25:55Speaker 4: go out and do something like that, it's hard to
- 25:58Speaker 4: come back from that. And I'm I'm excited to hear
- 26:00Speaker 4: what comes out of that conversation when they actually sit
- 26:03Speaker 4: down face to face and what sort of decisions are made.
- 26:08Speaker 5: Definitely, I love reading between the lines, and maybe it's
- 26:11Speaker 5: me jumping to conclusions. Tory's not too pleased, Like KP said,
- 26:16Speaker 5: He's like it takes a lot. This is a big
- 26:19Speaker 5: boy league, Like it takes a lot to get out there.
- 26:21Speaker 5: He said, twenty six dogs that want to get out there,
- 26:24Speaker 5: Like I love that Tory started it by saying, you know,
- 26:29Speaker 5: maybe this is something that I'll be able to answer
- 26:32Speaker 5: for you better tomorrow. But then you know him being
- 26:35Speaker 5: an honest and he's always a good interview. He's always
- 26:38Speaker 5: very honest whenever I've talked to him. That was an
- 26:42Speaker 5: honest statement, And I think it's something that maybe it
- 26:47Speaker 5: doesn't affect kad tell Marte, but the fact that kud
- 26:50Speaker 5: Tell Marte probably, you know, top three, if not the
- 26:55Speaker 5: top second baseman in the league. I get it. Mcgonagall's
- 26:58Speaker 5: probably up there now too. You know, Jazz had a
- 27:01Speaker 5: year last year, but when he's there and he's clicking,
- 27:04Speaker 5: he's even a top five player in the league with
- 27:06Speaker 5: MVP votes, You're just not gonna be able to find
- 27:09Speaker 5: a replacement like that. But for him to miss this,
- 27:13Speaker 5: I just hope it's not something super serious and he
- 27:16Speaker 5: can get back soon because he's kind of bailing on
- 27:19Speaker 5: his teammates if it isn't something serious.
- 27:25Speaker 2: Yeah, how do you think this affects the team down
- 27:29Speaker 2: the stretch here?
- 27:30Speaker 7: Guys?
- 27:30Speaker 2: I mean, like Kratz is mentioning he's one of the
- 27:33Speaker 2: best middle infielders in the sport, right, I mean, I mean.
- 27:37Speaker 4: I mean, let's not even talk about let's not even
- 27:39Speaker 4: talk about like the emotional or psychological component to this.
- 27:43Speaker 4: But you're talking about a guy who's getting MV votes
- 27:46Speaker 4: every year, Like you can't replace the talent that he possesses.
- 27:49Speaker 4: So from strictly a talent standpoint, it's a huge loss.
- 27:53Speaker 4: You just can't go onto your bench, You can't go
- 27:56Speaker 4: into your minor league system and bring up a guy
- 27:59Speaker 4: that can do the things that could tell Marte can
- 28:01Speaker 4: do at his position. He is one of one, you know,
- 28:05Speaker 4: and he's not even having his best year, but you
- 28:07Speaker 4: could probably put these statistics up against second basements across
- 28:10Speaker 4: the game, and he's I don't even know. I would
- 28:14Speaker 4: tell you he's in the top five. So you can't
- 28:16Speaker 4: replace the talent like that. Then you talk about the
- 28:18Speaker 4: emotional component of feeling like you have a teammate kind
- 28:21Speaker 4: of quit on you. You know, you think that you're
- 28:24Speaker 4: a brotherhood in that room, You think you have each
- 28:26Speaker 4: other's back, and then when he just does not show
- 28:29Speaker 4: up to a game and doesn't have communication with any
- 28:31Speaker 4: of the guys, or doesn't have communication, you know, with
- 28:34Speaker 4: the manager. So when you feel like they've been through
- 28:36Speaker 4: a lot of battles together that they would, you know,
- 28:38Speaker 4: be on the same page during something like this. It's
- 28:42Speaker 4: a tough blow and it's a distraction. But when you
- 28:44Speaker 4: got a leader like Tory Leavello coming out and giving
- 28:47Speaker 4: a speech like that and that's just the media, imagine
- 28:50Speaker 4: what he's given behind closed doors, letting you know that
- 28:53Speaker 4: we don't need him. We got twenty six dogs in
- 28:55Speaker 4: this room and we're gonna go out and win a game.
- 28:58Speaker 2: Hey, for those of you that are on your phone's
- 29:01Speaker 2: very often, or even if you don't use it much,
- 29:03Speaker 2: you should check out your wireless bill and make sure
- 29:05Speaker 2: that it is treating you well. It's summertime. You're feeling good, right,
- 29:09Speaker 2: aj But are you spending too much on your wireless bill?
- 29:12Speaker 2: And should mintmobile get involved now?
- 29:15Speaker 8: Some of them has two college aged kids, gott They're
- 29:17Speaker 8: always on their phone, whether it's they're checking their snap,
- 29:19Speaker 8: they're checking their DMS, they're checking their Twitter. I need
- 29:23Speaker 8: fifteen dollars a month because I need unlimited quality coverage
- 29:26Speaker 8: that Mintmobile provides.
- 29:28Speaker 2: They get that new wireless plan for just fifteen bucks
- 29:30Speaker 2: a month. Go to mintmobile dot com slash territory that's
- 29:33Speaker 2: mintmobile dot com. Slash territory. Cut your wireless bill to
- 29:36Speaker 2: fifteen dollars a month at mintmobile dot com slash territory.
- 29:39Speaker 1: That's it.
- 29:40Speaker 2: No catch upfront payment of forty five dollars for three months,
- 29:42Speaker 2: ninety dollars for six months, or one hundred eighty dollars
- 29:44Speaker 2: for twelve month. Plan required fifteen dollars per month equivalent
- 29:47Speaker 2: taxes and fees extra initial plan term only greater than
- 29:50Speaker 2: fifty gigabytes may slow when network is busy. Includes up
- 29:52Speaker 2: to twenty gigabyte hotspot capable device required availability, speed and
- 29:56Speaker 2: coverage varries CEE mintmobile dot com.
- 29:58Speaker 5: Yeah, I accidentally said mc. I was thinking about just
- 30:01Speaker 5: the guys that were playing well. I think he's a
- 30:03Speaker 5: top three I think he's a top three second baseman
- 30:07Speaker 5: in the game. But nobody ever sits there in the
- 30:11Speaker 5: middle of a game as a player and goes man
- 30:15Speaker 5: Farren Judge was up at this spot, we'd be doing good.
- 30:18Speaker 5: Do you think about it going into the game? Man,
- 30:19Speaker 5: we'd be doing better if we had Judge. We'd be
- 30:22Speaker 5: doing better if we had could tell yes, you think
- 30:24Speaker 5: about that, but in the game, you're like, I hope
- 30:28Speaker 5: Jordan Lawler can step in I hope that you know
- 30:31Speaker 5: an outfielder that we're that we're throwing into second base.
- 30:35Speaker 5: I hope that Perdomo can slide over whoever, whatever they're doing,
- 30:40Speaker 5: I get a Perdoma's playing short. These are not actual
- 30:42Speaker 5: things that are happening. I'm saying when a team's scrambling
- 30:46Speaker 5: to fill in for a perennial MVP candidate, you're scrambling
- 30:51Speaker 5: to fill in and they're winning games right now. So
- 30:54Speaker 5: as weird as it sounds, it might make the team
- 30:58Speaker 5: come together a little bit more. I don't know. I mean,
- 31:00Speaker 5: obviously you're always better with a really good player in
- 31:03Speaker 5: the lineup, but you got to figure it out. The
- 31:06Speaker 5: game is going to be played tonight, the game is
- 31:08Speaker 5: going to be played tomorrow night, and whether this guy
- 31:11Speaker 5: shows up, whether it's a family issue, whatever it is,
- 31:14Speaker 5: he's not in the lineup. You got to go out
- 31:16Speaker 5: there and win with the nine that you have, and
- 31:18Speaker 5: I think the Diamondbacks have clearly done that.
- 31:22Speaker 4: It's so true what you said too about just the
- 31:24Speaker 4: team coming together, Like sometimes things like that happen in
- 31:27Speaker 4: the game. You know, think about the Detroit Tigers. They
- 31:29Speaker 4: go out and they trade Trek Scuobel and you think, hey,
- 31:31Speaker 4: this is every reason for this team to be fractioned,
- 31:35Speaker 4: and you know we're giving up on the season, and
- 31:37Speaker 4: things like that bring guys closer together. So obviously I
- 31:41Speaker 4: haven't been in the clubhouse with those guys. You know,
- 31:44Speaker 4: I'm basing a lot of this off of what I
- 31:46Speaker 4: heard from Tory Leavelo. Obviously, they still have a lot
- 31:49Speaker 4: of talent in that room. They wouldn't be in this
- 31:51Speaker 4: position if they didn't have that amount of talent. But
- 31:54Speaker 4: sometimes weird things like this bring teams closer together.
- 31:59Speaker 1: Yeah.
- 32:00Speaker 2: Yeah, And also just real quick to go back because
- 32:02Speaker 2: I'm space cadet, but Kratz shortstop and third for McGonagall,
- 32:07Speaker 2: you didn't actually say it. I'm just making sure we
- 32:09Speaker 2: prevent the trolls from making the whole focus of the
- 32:11Speaker 2: segment of position.
- 32:13Speaker 5: It will, I will, that's.
- 32:17Speaker 7: What you're talking about.
- 32:18Speaker 1: The backwards hat. Yep, that's important, right, no catchers.
- 32:21Speaker 7: Did he play second base?
- 32:23Speaker 5: Ye see, I was thinking he was playing second base.
- 32:28Speaker 2: He's short second, and yeah, I mean Katel's the second basement.
- 32:34Speaker 2: And for the Diamondbacks, I mean, you guys played, so
- 32:38Speaker 2: you know better than I do. But I just don't
- 32:40Speaker 2: think you can get anywhere close to replicating what he does,
- 32:44Speaker 2: or even replacing what he does.
- 32:46Speaker 1: I know what you guys mean, Like the Diamondbacks can.
- 32:48Speaker 2: Still play good ball without him, but damn when you
- 32:51Speaker 2: watch him get hot, that's when the Diamondbacks suddenly look
- 32:55Speaker 2: like the twenty twenty three version and nobody can get
- 32:57Speaker 2: him out. To me, it's not the same hitting profile.
- 32:59Speaker 2: But Laddie Junior had that in him last year with
- 33:01Speaker 2: the Blue Jays. I felt like we saw that in
- 33:03Speaker 2: twenty twenty three with Kittel Marte. Right, it's just like, uh,
- 33:06Speaker 2: here we go. Kittel's up, Like the whole game revolved
- 33:09Speaker 2: around him. It's the classic circle him in the lineup card.
- 33:12Speaker 2: That's why I mean, you're missing your best overall hitter, right.
- 33:17Speaker 2: I know Gabby Mourno is having a great season, Corbyn
- 33:19Speaker 2: Carrol's really good, but Katel Marte's consistently been able to
- 33:22Speaker 2: do this. I want to just go through the schedule too, right,
- 33:25Speaker 2: because this is a wildcard team, this is a team
- 33:26Speaker 2: that's playing well. They didn't do much in the trade
- 33:29Speaker 2: deadline mix. They got large new bar, that's it. They
- 33:32Speaker 2: just couldn't come up with much. I think they were
- 33:33Speaker 2: trying for Clay Holmes was the name they were going for,
- 33:36Speaker 2: and there was a minor leaguer on their side that
- 33:39Speaker 2: the Mets kind of flunked physical wise or looking at
- 33:41Speaker 2: the medical record, so they didn't end up getting another starter.
- 33:45Speaker 2: But they do have guys coming back. EDWARDO Rodriguez has
- 33:47Speaker 2: been on fire this year. There's not nothing there. Also,
- 33:50Speaker 2: reliever wise, bullpen wise, Justin Martinez just return should be
- 33:53Speaker 2: a big help. All right, So this weekend Cincinnati, then
- 33:57Speaker 2: they're taking on the Cubs. After that, that's all at home.
- 34:00Speaker 2: They go to San Francisco to start September. They'll be
- 34:05Speaker 2: against Philadelphia, right, Yeah, that rolls into September and then
- 34:10Speaker 2: I might as well just read it out here.
- 34:12Speaker 1: Yeah.
- 34:12Speaker 2: Here we are Houston on a road trip, Kansas City
- 34:15Speaker 2: home against the Rangers, home against the Marlins. They stay
- 34:19Speaker 2: home for that whole week and a half against the Yankees,
- 34:21Speaker 2: and they finish on the road against the Rockies and
- 34:23Speaker 2: the Padres. I don't know, like the win percentage or
- 34:26Speaker 2: anything like that is to what I just went through Kratz,
- 34:30Speaker 2: But I mean that's not an easy ride there. That's
- 34:32Speaker 2: not a crazy challenging ride, but I wouldn't say, oh.
- 34:35Speaker 1: They're full of cupcakes.
- 34:36Speaker 2: That's probably middle of the pack in terms of what
- 34:38Speaker 2: the schedule looks like on the eye test.
- 34:40Speaker 1: The rest of the year for sure.
- 34:42Speaker 5: Man, I'm circling September right there, San Diego going into
- 34:47Speaker 5: San Diego to finish the season. Guess who's right close
- 34:51Speaker 5: to them in the standings and maybe and maybe he'll
- 34:53Speaker 5: be decided by then. The way the season's gone, probably not.
- 34:58Speaker 5: Where are they going to be? Could Corbyn Burns start
- 35:02Speaker 5: one of those last three games? I'm just saying. I'm
- 35:05Speaker 5: just saying, you need everybody. Look, you need everybody. Very
- 35:10Speaker 5: few teams with an MVP candidate are like, yeah, you
- 35:14Speaker 5: know what, we'll be fine. No, you need everybody. The
- 35:18Speaker 5: Yankees would love to have Aaron Judges right now. The
- 35:21Speaker 5: Diamondbacks would love to have Kotel Marte. And it feels
- 35:24Speaker 5: like from what we're hearing from Tory Lavello and just
- 35:27Speaker 5: a round camp and the uncertainty about things, it feels
- 35:32Speaker 5: like it's nothing serious. But then it makes it question like, well, then,
- 35:36Speaker 5: what the heck is it?
- 35:41Speaker 2: Let's talk fatletics, shall we? They have apparel for every season.
- 35:46Speaker 2: We're wearing it as we talk about it. It's soft,
- 35:48Speaker 2: it's comfortable. I wear it on the show sometimes on FT.
- 35:51Speaker 2: What else do you love about it?
- 35:52Speaker 1: Krats?
- 35:53Speaker 5: Well, I have it on right now and I'm all
- 35:55Speaker 5: about quality. But you know what, you know how good
- 35:59Speaker 5: your clothes are, and you're a parent and your kids
- 36:02Speaker 5: keep stealing all of it. My daughter stole the sweatshirt.
- 36:05Speaker 5: My son sold one of my t shirts. So it's
- 36:08Speaker 5: got to be nice looking.
- 36:09Speaker 2: And if it gets a little bit chillier then it's
- 36:12Speaker 2: layering season and they've got layers for the fall. Shop

- 36:32Speaker 2: That's fabletics dot Com slash foul for seventy to eighty
- 36:37Speaker 2: percent off everything as a new VIP. You know we
- 36:41Speaker 2: like to mix in the injury reports. I mean we don't,
- 36:43Speaker 2: we hate them. But here's another one. It's for the
- 36:45Speaker 2: aas again. I mean we did Tyler Sderstrom conversation right
- 36:49Speaker 2: yesterday was that yesterday?
- 36:51Speaker 1: Okay?
- 36:51Speaker 2: Well, Jacob Wilson unfortunately also likely done for the season.
- 36:55Speaker 2: Martin Diegos covers the team il for Wilson back to
- 36:59Speaker 2: sacram seeing a doctor for his left shoulder and season
- 37:04Speaker 2: is likely over. So this is the guy who's fun
- 37:07Speaker 2: to watch when he's got it all going, cashed in,
- 37:09Speaker 2: made some good money, hasn't had a good year. Kratz
- 37:12Speaker 2: disappointing to see this news. For A's fans in general,
- 37:15Speaker 2: they've just it turned.
- 37:17Speaker 1: Into a nightmare.
- 37:18Speaker 2: They never were really in it, and a lot of
- 37:20Speaker 2: the young core that you're excited about has either not
- 37:23Speaker 2: played well or is hurt. And you know the replies
- 37:26Speaker 2: to the comments on that tweet where like is the
- 37:29Speaker 2: last person going to shut the lights off on the
- 37:31Speaker 2: way out? I mean, they're losing guys to significant injuries
- 37:34Speaker 2: that also might even impact twenty twenty seven.
- 37:38Speaker 5: You hope it doesn't. You hope that they're able to
- 37:40Speaker 5: take this last month get it right so that come
- 37:43Speaker 5: spring training is full go or even like you have
- 37:45Speaker 5: a full off season to train. Because the reality is,
- 37:49Speaker 5: and maybe this is a dark reality for ACE fans,
- 37:52Speaker 5: this is the group that they're gonna win with. They've
- 37:55Speaker 5: extended these guys. They've extended them to, you know, through Vegas.
- 38:00Speaker 5: If you want to stay an A's fan, these are
- 38:02Speaker 5: the guys. And it has not been going very well
- 38:05Speaker 5: at all lately.
- 38:08Speaker 4: Hey, and I know injuries are random, but we spent
- 38:11Speaker 4: a little bit time yesterday talking about the facilities, and
- 38:14Speaker 4: you have to wonder the amount of injuries that the
- 38:17Speaker 4: A's have had and the lack of big league things
- 38:21Speaker 4: that they have has this kind of caught up to them.
- 38:25Speaker 2: Good point, all right, people, let's slap And first off,
- 38:42Speaker 2: tomorrow's show will be a unique one, Kratz, Do you
- 38:45Speaker 2: know what you're doing tomorrow?
- 38:46Speaker 1: A Friday edition of FT.
- 38:48Speaker 5: I mean, I know it's not jj Reddick, but I
- 38:51Speaker 5: know it's a first time hoster on FT.
- 38:56Speaker 1: His name is Josh Reddick. Joshua Reddick.
- 39:01Speaker 2: Josh Reddick from Crush City Territory will be on the show.
- 39:04Speaker 2: Katie will will be hosting this show. I know at
- 39:07Speaker 2: least one guest that will be on the show for Friday.
- 39:10Speaker 2: And he actually just received some pretty cool accolades thanks
- 39:14Speaker 2: to a new stat that is judging first base and
- 39:18Speaker 2: a little bit more on how impressive you can be
- 39:20Speaker 2: at the position. His name is Alec Burlison from the
- 39:22Speaker 2: Saint Louis Cardinals. By the way, KP, I know the
- 39:26Speaker 2: Cardinals aren't in a favorable position, but not in an
- 39:30Speaker 2: unfavorable position.
- 39:31Speaker 1: Last I checked, I believe three games out of a
- 39:33Speaker 1: wild card. It's not crazy to think that they could
- 39:37Speaker 1: still go on a run. Here.
- 39:38Speaker 2: Joshua Bias had that ridiculous debut and then he slumped,
- 39:41Speaker 2: and then he sat what yesterday? But this team's got
- 39:45Speaker 2: some promising pieces here, crazier things about it.
- 39:47Speaker 7: I mean, let me answer this question.
- 39:49Speaker 5: What's today's day?
- 39:50Speaker 4: Is today August twentieth?
- 39:52Speaker 1: Yes, it's August twentieth.
- 39:54Speaker 4: If you ask any Major League Baseball player that goes
- 39:57Speaker 4: into spring training and you tell them, hey, you can
- 40:00Speaker 4: fast forward to August twentieth and you're gonna be three
- 40:03Speaker 4: games out of a wild card. You want to take
- 40:05Speaker 4: your chances with that. Every team would sign up for that,
- 40:08Speaker 4: maybe aside from the Dodgers or you know, the top
- 40:11Speaker 4: of the top, the elite, elite, but every other team,
- 40:15Speaker 4: especially a Cardinals team that probably wasn't expected to get
- 40:17Speaker 4: here this year. If you've told them back in February
- 40:21Speaker 4: or March in spring training, three games out to go
- 40:23Speaker 4: to the playoffs, to get a wildcard spot August twentieth go,
- 40:28Speaker 4: they would say, let's do it. So they were in
- 40:31Speaker 4: a great position compared to where I thought the baseball
- 40:34Speaker 4: world probably thought they would be at. And yes, they
- 40:36Speaker 4: do have a lot of great pieces. I'm a big
- 40:38Speaker 4: fan of Alec Burlson. I love watching this guy hit.
- 40:41Speaker 4: And I don't want to get ahead of ourselves because
- 40:42Speaker 4: you guys a canna talk about it tomorrow and tomorrow's
- 40:45Speaker 4: show great first baseman as well.
- 40:52Speaker 5: Yeah, I agree. I think the Cardinals they've played themselves
- 40:56Speaker 5: into this. I don't think the front office thought they
- 40:58Speaker 5: would be where they are, and I don't think they
- 41:01Speaker 5: needed to think they would be where they are. But
- 41:04Speaker 5: it'll be, It'll be whatever it is. This is a
- 41:06Speaker 5: positive season for the Cardinals, and I'm not like a,
- 41:10Speaker 5: oh man, let's just find the nice silver lining and things.
- 41:13Speaker 5: This is a positive season because they're gonna be playing
- 41:14Speaker 5: meaningful games down the stretch here and that will help
- 41:18Speaker 5: them learn for when they do get a few guys agreed.
- 41:25Speaker 2: And also, if you are playing within the bedmgm app
- 41:28Speaker 2: there's a no sweat home run token that could be
