- 0:00Speaker 1: You're listening to a lily Pad production. Hello virgins, and
- 0:23Speaker 1: welcome to Pandemonium, the pop culture game show that shines
- 0:27Speaker 1: a spotlight onto everyone's favorite fandoms. I'm your games master
- 0:31Speaker 1: and tall rumbo with toilet plungers for arms matts. But
- 0:36Speaker 1: a games master needs games, and games need players, so
- 0:38Speaker 1: please welcome. First, he is a podcaster, voice artist, and pinmaker,
- 0:43Speaker 1: which sounds like a doctor who villain. Beware the wrath
- 0:46Speaker 1: of the pin maker, Beware his enamel wrath. It's Drew Shulman. Hello,
- 0:53Speaker 1: Hello Drew, and he is an author, podcaster, and games master.
- 0:57Speaker 1: The master to my doctor, or the master sir to
- 1:00Speaker 1: my other master. We're both the bad guys of our podcast.
- 1:03Speaker 1: It's and Randolf. Yes, hi, so happy to be here. Finally,
- 1:12Speaker 1: the timetreams are aligned properly. For once I fell.
- 1:14Speaker 2: Into a timehole and may have missed the earlier attempt
- 1:18Speaker 2: to record this episode.
- 1:20Speaker 1: To be fair, we had this scheduled for nine am,
- 1:23Speaker 1: our time, which is one of the earliest times we've
- 1:26Speaker 1: scheduled to start something.
- 1:27Speaker 3: So also to be fair, it is nine am again
- 1:30Speaker 3: because we went back in time.
- 1:32Speaker 4: Uh huh, yeah.
- 1:34Speaker 1: Yeah, I wish I was feeling more caffeinated.
- 1:39Speaker 4: This lemonade vodka is my breakfast. That's a normal thing,
- 1:42Speaker 4: not just a now thing. Mad recafemate, recaffeinate.
- 1:49Speaker 1: Excellent stuff. But glad to be here with you both,
- 1:53Speaker 1: Drew Aaron, how are you both doing?
- 1:54Speaker 5: I'm doing fantastics, but a nice, lovely sunday, and I'm
- 1:57Speaker 5: happy to get to do it again.
- 1:59Speaker 4: I'm a klut, but.
- 2:03Speaker 1: We are all here together now, and that's what.
- 2:05Speaker 2: Yes, Yes, here to have some fun in the Who hoovers.
- 2:09Speaker 4: Yes, in the wh There we go, Yes, we called it.
- 2:15Speaker 4: Hang out with the Grinch. David Tanne. What is the
- 2:21Speaker 4: name of that planet?
- 2:22Speaker 3: Yes, that planet that he goes to the bank Bangalore.
- 2:26Speaker 3: That's trends Alord, the one that's always Christmas.
- 2:30Speaker 1: Yeah, okay, nice, nice, Okay, good reference already get you
- 2:34Speaker 1: got that.
- 2:34Speaker 4: Knowing the word because I didn't.
- 2:37Speaker 5: Oh yeah, I think that's going to happen a lot
- 2:40Speaker 5: this record. I will avoid the pedantic correction of weird
- 2:44Speaker 5: names and words like capit a lot of Yeah.
- 2:48Speaker 1: This is a Doctor Who episode, of course, so there's
- 2:51Speaker 1: gonna be a lot of pedanticness. It's a very pedantic fandom.
- 2:54Speaker 1: I found in my research, my knowledge of growing up
- 2:58Speaker 1: in its culture. True, I'd like to start with you
- 3:01Speaker 1: as as the person who chose this episode. You you
- 3:04Speaker 1: selected this as your episode of the Yeah, are you
- 3:07Speaker 1: a Doctor Who fan?
- 3:09Speaker 3: Uh?
- 3:09Speaker 5: Yeah, that would be weird if I didn't, although again
- 3:11Speaker 5: Jason did pick Destiny for me. Essentially that's true happens.
- 3:16Speaker 4: Yeah.
- 3:17Speaker 5: No, I've been a fan of it for a while now.
- 3:19Speaker 5: I only really jumped on the like post two thousand
- 3:22Speaker 5: and five Eccleston Tenant Matt Smith reboot after a teacher
- 3:26Speaker 5: was She was like, there's no way you were not
- 3:28Speaker 5: a fan of the show. Lend me the DVDs and
- 3:30Speaker 5: I brought them back, saying do you have any more?
- 3:33Speaker 5: You're clearly a nut. Yeah, you're clearly a loser with
- 3:37Speaker 5: no friends. Go home and watch this on the Friday night. Hey, ma'am,
- 3:41Speaker 5: you're not wrong.
- 3:42Speaker 1: But ow fantastic lovely stuff. And Aaron, what about yourself?
- 3:46Speaker 1: Fan of Doctor Who?
- 3:47Speaker 4: Yeah, i'd say a little bit, like not as much
- 3:50Speaker 4: as Drew, I don't think.
- 3:51Speaker 2: I also picked up during the Eccleston and then Tenant years,
- 3:55Speaker 2: but I dropped off after after Donna left the show
- 3:58Speaker 2: the first time, and I honestly haven't been back. Having
- 4:04Speaker 2: said that, I have enjoyed my occasional forays into the hoovers,
- 4:09Speaker 2: including what is probably my most ridiculous and probably most
- 4:13Speaker 2: illegal keepsake, which is a homemade version of the board
- 4:18Speaker 2: game Legendary where all the characters are replaced with the
- 4:21Speaker 2: different doctors and their companions, and are so many of
- 4:27Speaker 2: them to print. To print the entire game costs probably
- 4:31Speaker 2: around three hundred dollars.
- 4:32Speaker 1: Whoa Jesus as long as some fan fictions.
- 4:38Speaker 4: Wow, I would play that in a heartbeat. Yeah too.
- 4:42Speaker 1: Oh, well done, well done, fantastic. So yeah, I think
- 4:49Speaker 1: that's a good balance. That's a good classic Pandemonium balance,
- 4:52Speaker 1: A super fan, casual fan.
- 4:54Speaker 4: I love it.
- 4:55Speaker 1: But you will need some opponents, some enemies from across
- 4:58Speaker 1: we really I like this questioning that farm that point.
- 5:05Speaker 4: I mean, I could just be us against you. You
- 5:07Speaker 4: know that it's never been done. But you did.
- 5:10Speaker 2: You did go to the effort of inviting people here.
- 5:12Speaker 2: So I think at the very least I did. Yes, no,
- 5:15Speaker 2: you two sit quietly the studio.
- 5:16Speaker 4: You watch.
- 5:20Speaker 6: My teammates did just ask me if I was able
- 5:22Speaker 6: to do an evil smile, and then I just did
- 5:24Speaker 6: the exact same.
- 5:28Speaker 5: Is that, because you can't do one, because all of
- 5:30Speaker 5: your smiles are evil smiles.
- 5:31Speaker 6: All of my smiles are evil.
- 5:34Speaker 4: I felt this.
- 5:34Speaker 3: I felt a chill move at all, but I just
- 5:39Speaker 3: felt a chill down.
- 5:40Speaker 6: That's how you know.
- 5:42Speaker 1: Well, I will introduce those evil smilers. She is our
- 5:45Speaker 1: evergreen panelist, a podcaster and comedian who works in STEM,
- 5:48Speaker 1: which today stands for Smith, Tenant, Eccleston, McGahan. And that's
- 5:53Speaker 1: in reverse chronological order. Baby, it's I knew three of those.
- 6:00Speaker 1: And he is an improviser, an actor of stage and screen.
- 6:05Speaker 1: His name might mean a little something to fans of
- 6:07Speaker 1: Doctor Who. We're thrilled to be joined by Matt Smith.
- 6:12Speaker 1: What Ish fingers and custard. It's me and myself. I'm
- 6:16Speaker 1: here in my own podcast. Oh my god, thank you
- 6:19Speaker 1: so much for joining us.
- 6:20Speaker 4: Matt. This is my British accent, one of them.
- 6:24Speaker 1: That's as good as mine.
- 6:25Speaker 4: Matt Smith. My god, they tell me the exact time. I
- 6:28Speaker 4: can't tell which Matt is Matt, Which one do I shoot?
- 6:34Speaker 1: Fantastic? Yes, it is a Matt Smith.
- 6:36Speaker 4: Matt Smith. That's right. I charged extra because I mean,
- 6:43Speaker 4: come on.
- 6:44Speaker 1: Name recognition.
- 6:45Speaker 4: Yeah.
- 6:46Speaker 3: The SEO is going to Seo in this episode. Is
- 6:48Speaker 3: gonna h seriously seriously. Yeah, I can't wait for you
- 6:51Speaker 3: to take advantage of that.
- 6:53Speaker 1: Yeah, I hope we can, genuinely hope we can.
- 6:55Speaker 6: Yeah, we're can get so many angry comments EPs.
- 6:59Speaker 5: Gonna be whatever the team names are in the brackets
- 7:02Speaker 5: with Matt Smith, Yes.
- 7:03Speaker 1: Featuring Mats featuring Massmith because it's that. Yeah, it's the truth,
- 7:07Speaker 1: it's the truth. It's a lie. Well, welcome, welcome back, Matt,
- 7:12Speaker 1: Welcome as always, Ouldra, How are you both doing?
- 7:14Speaker 6: I'm doing so good. I'm excited to be in the Hoovers.
- 7:19Speaker 1: Yeah, Hoovers.
- 7:21Speaker 6: It'll be good to return to some earlier fandom part
- 7:25Speaker 6: of me.
- 7:25Speaker 1: Okay, so you are a fan of doctor Hugh Waldro Yes.
- 7:29Speaker 6: I was in the Eccleston and Beyond era. That was
- 7:34Speaker 6: my peak tumbler time, and so I am. I watched
- 7:39Speaker 6: Eccleston and Tennant and most of Matt Smith a bit heavily,
- 7:46Speaker 6: heavily and analyzed it on the internet, probably more than
- 7:50Speaker 6: the school work I should have been doing at that time.
- 7:55Speaker 6: But I haven't seen as much since I've picked back
- 7:58Speaker 6: up with Shooty. But I haven't seen as much copal,
- 8:03Speaker 6: the Jody Whittaker et cetera.
- 8:06Speaker 1: Yeah, the classic young millennial dip. Yes, yes, fantastic. And
- 8:11Speaker 1: this is, of course you mentioned Tumblr. This is our
- 8:14Speaker 1: super who Lock month that we're doing here on the
- 8:17Speaker 1: gate Leapers feed in November. We will have a Sherlock
- 8:20Speaker 1: Holmes episode in two weeks time. And Drew being the
- 8:24Speaker 1: host of Supernatural podcast Carrying Wayward is our Supernatural representation
- 8:29Speaker 1: for those episodes.
- 8:29Speaker 5: And I mean I did do the Supernatural episode way
- 8:31Speaker 5: back when when you first invited me on the show.
- 8:33Speaker 1: Of course we might. Maybe we'll just re release it
- 8:36Speaker 1: on the feet why not title together it's super Wholock November.
- 8:42Speaker 1: And Matt you I imagine you weren't on Tumblr.
- 8:45Speaker 4: He wasn't.
- 8:46Speaker 3: I've been too Tumblr. Yeah, I've landed on Tumblr. I've
- 8:51Speaker 3: tumbled around the internet, stumbled upon Tumblr.
- 8:55Speaker 4: More of a stumbler.
- 8:57Speaker 1: But what about a what about a Hoovian? You were
- 8:59Speaker 1: doctor who?
- 9:00Speaker 3: Sure? Yeah, definitely a Hoovian. So well, first of all,
- 9:04Speaker 3: I'm off of a Hoovian to know that that you
- 9:06Speaker 3: with your dollic arms you just have you just have
- 9:09Speaker 3: one toilet plunger.
- 9:10Speaker 4: The other one's a wire whisk.
- 9:12Speaker 1: Yes, that is true, but it was just a bit wood.
- 9:15Speaker 3: Yeah, it's yeah, because because sometimes you need to you know,
- 9:18Speaker 3: sometimes you just can stuck the you know, push the poop,
- 9:21Speaker 3: you know, suck the poop out.
- 9:22Speaker 4: Sometimes you need to chop, you need to grind it.
- 9:25Speaker 6: Hoop whisk is that it's still in.
- 9:28Speaker 4: It's still used for poop. It's just plunger exactly exactly.
- 9:31Speaker 4: We all know what dollics do.
- 9:32Speaker 1: Gallic poop whisk is now a phrase that's in my head.
- 9:37Speaker 4: If you haven't a team name yet, I'm saying right.
- 9:42Speaker 4: I am a Hooian.
- 9:43Speaker 3: I identified similarities with it between it and professional wrestling.
- 9:47Speaker 3: I'm a wrestling fan, and there's two things about Doctor
- 9:50Speaker 3: Who and pro wrestling that I think they have in common.
- 9:52Speaker 3: It's like one, it's it's such a variety show. You
- 9:56Speaker 3: kind of don't know what you're gonna get. And this
- 9:57Speaker 3: is kind of just building off of that. One is
- 10:00Speaker 3: you know, you tune in any time and you might
- 10:02Speaker 3: see something profound, something really interesting, something really cool, something
- 10:08Speaker 3: really scary, something totally fucking stupid.
- 10:11Speaker 4: Yeah, any of those things that anytime could show up
- 10:14Speaker 4: straight Yep.
- 10:15Speaker 6: Every time.
- 10:15Speaker 1: It's a joy it's a it's a it's a grab bag,
- 10:18Speaker 1: it's a it's it's a sci fi mix of all
- 10:21Speaker 1: of the tropes that came before and after A hole
- 10:25Speaker 1: into a.
- 10:26Speaker 3: Glory hole, into space time. Who knows what you're going
- 10:30Speaker 3: to pull out?
- 10:31Speaker 4: Yes, spacetime, glory whole gloryhole.
- 10:35Speaker 1: All of these sentences a wonderful new additions to to
- 10:38Speaker 1: my brain. Well, lovely to have you both. I think
- 10:43Speaker 1: we're going to have a nice, nice friendly doctor who
- 10:45Speaker 1: battle a good old British quiz showdown. I think how classic,
- 10:51Speaker 1: how classic indeed okay teams. It's seven pm on a
- 10:54Speaker 1: Saturday evening in the nineteen sixties. The Internet hasn't been
- 10:58Speaker 1: invented yet, so you can't watch TikTok or hot Ones
- 11:00Speaker 1: or pawn or whatever. So you've got to gather around
- 11:03Speaker 1: the family television and watch an old man fight robots
- 11:06Speaker 1: in a metaphor for England's lack of progress in the
- 11:09Speaker 1: post war technological boom. But it's not all boring. Fandom
- 11:13Speaker 1: just got invented, and you and your dorky friends who
- 11:16Speaker 1: couldn't hack it on the front lines like your old
- 11:18Speaker 1: dad did, are going to need a nickname for your
- 11:20Speaker 1: pathetic little club. So I'd like each pair to come
- 11:24Speaker 1: up with a Doctor Who the team name. Please, it's
- 11:27Speaker 1: a British fandom, it had to be a very British introduction.
- 11:32Speaker 1: We are going to start with Drew and Aaron. What
- 11:36Speaker 1: are your Doctor Who themed team name? Ideas?
- 11:38Speaker 2: You got any end up there? Aaron, They're beautiformly terrible,
- 11:42Speaker 2: Go for it. My team name prowess has dropped off
- 11:45Speaker 2: significantly this year. The best thing I have going is dentist.
- 11:49Speaker 2: Why I have an equally bad one for you?
- 11:56Speaker 4: That may even that, I think, Okay, go for it.
- 11:59Speaker 4: The one I came up with on that same vein
- 12:00Speaker 4: was professor first base. I loved watching that, like actual
- 12:07Speaker 4: egg timer go off, like the oh god, oh Mercy.
- 12:12Speaker 1: Those are terribly brilliant.
- 12:15Speaker 5: Yes, otherwise I have my wife help me come up
- 12:17Speaker 5: with a few. But we had the team who wins, Yes,
- 12:22Speaker 5: girl who waited?
- 12:23Speaker 4: Yeah, I mean that would be manifesting.
- 12:26Speaker 5: Yeah, I'm gonna say the team who waited was the
- 12:28Speaker 5: original wording, and I realized would be really funny. Now
- 12:34Speaker 5: little mean, but a little funny.
- 12:35Speaker 4: We could go the other way with the team who lost.
- 12:38Speaker 3: Oh, just cover our bases, even though yeah, you know what.
- 12:43Speaker 2: Yeah, either we predicted correctly or we win. There you
- 12:47Speaker 2: go like that, it's a win win.
- 12:49Speaker 5: My other really bad one was trivia answering random adults
- 12:52Speaker 5: in space time or tartis for short long team name.
- 12:57Speaker 4: Yeah, tarts uh.
- 13:00Speaker 5: And then my wife also gave me a Sermond instead
- 13:03Speaker 5: of exterminate and quiz fingers and custard.
- 13:09Speaker 4: There. Oh, I kind of like, dentist. Why though.
- 13:14Speaker 1: I really like dentists, why.
- 13:18Speaker 4: I think we have so dumb dentist?
- 13:22Speaker 1: Why why different vibes, such a different vibe to who?
- 13:29Speaker 4: Even though it's so obvious, it still took me a second.
- 13:32Speaker 4: I was like, a.
- 13:33Speaker 3: Dentist, why why? Yeah?
- 13:37Speaker 4: No, I'm okay, I'm okay.
- 13:38Speaker 6: Think I like that one rises and delights and I
- 13:43Speaker 6: love it.
- 13:43Speaker 4: Okay, it only gets funnier every time I think about it.
- 13:46Speaker 1: Yeah, dentist, why is your team name? Let's buy out
- 13:50Speaker 1: who they will be facing or dramatic?
- 13:54Speaker 3: I mean, this one's boring because he just had a
- 13:56Speaker 3: pun version and I just have the regular version of.
- 13:58Speaker 4: Fish, fish, fingers and custard. But I already made that joke.
- 14:02Speaker 1: I'm so glad you've said it again.
- 14:04Speaker 4: I know, I know, yeah, you can edit it out
- 14:08Speaker 4: or multiple times to be safe.
- 14:09Speaker 3: Yeah, exactly, exactly, and I'm sure you heard it. It
- 14:13Speaker 3: wasn't even it wasn't even a pun. It was literally
- 14:15Speaker 3: just a sentence. He said, what do you which? What's
- 14:17Speaker 3: your first one?
- 14:19Speaker 6: I have? I'm erasing some that I think are like
- 14:25Speaker 6: because Torchwood is an anagram of Doctor Who. Yes, yeah,
- 14:29Speaker 6: I also did an anagram, but mine was way less good.
- 14:33Speaker 6: Mine is just doctor Howe.
- 14:38Speaker 1: I also have doctor huh dentist wy versus doctor Howe.
- 14:46Speaker 6: My my favorite writer for Doctor Who is Russell T. Davies,
- 14:53Speaker 6: And I don't know if there is a term for
- 14:56Speaker 6: fans of Russell T. Davies, but I would like to
- 14:59Speaker 6: p post that it's the Russell Tea babies.
- 15:04Speaker 4: Yes, I really like that one a lot.
- 15:07Speaker 3: The only other one I have to suggest is too
- 15:10Speaker 3: many Daleks on the dance Floor, which is really kind
- 15:14Speaker 3: of a reference to both Doctor Who and uh many
- 15:19Speaker 3: of the Concords.
- 15:20Speaker 1: Yes, yes, joy, too many Daleks on the dance Floor.
- 15:25Speaker 6: I also have Matt Smith, not that one.
- 15:29Speaker 1: To really help with the SEO.
- 15:31Speaker 4: To remember, really.
- 15:34Speaker 1: Help with this. I like that that that genuinely helps
- 15:37Speaker 1: me out with the se O, so obviously I'm gonna
- 15:39Speaker 1: nudge you towards that one. But I also love Russell
- 15:41Speaker 1: Tea babies. I love Doctor Howe.
- 15:46Speaker 4: Yeah.
- 15:47Speaker 3: I think I feel like we're the Russell t babies.
- 15:50Speaker 4: Yeah.
- 15:51Speaker 3: When you think of something kind of weird and you
- 15:52Speaker 3: wish that you were there, close your eyes and make
- 15:55Speaker 3: believe and you can be anywhere, that's the Muppet babies.
- 15:59Speaker 4: Babies.
- 16:02Speaker 1: It is all right, we have the we have dentist
- 16:06Speaker 1: why versus Russell te babies. I love it, all right.
- 16:09Speaker 1: And if you're listening to this and thinking doctor who, no,
- 16:12Speaker 1: genuinely doctor who? Who is he? Why won't you tell me?
- 16:17Speaker 1: Oh God, oh God, please tell me? Don't worry his
- 16:22Speaker 1: order with a little segment we like to call passing knowledge.
- 16:26Speaker 6: Doctor Who is a British science fiction television series broadcast
- 16:30Speaker 6: by the BBC since November twenty third, nineteen sixty three,
- 16:35Speaker 6: exactly one day after the Kennedy assassination. And if anybody
- 16:40Speaker 6: needed a doctor.
- 16:41Speaker 1: Who, Wow, that's a fact.
- 16:50Speaker 6: The series depicts the adventures of an extraterrestrial being called
- 16:54Speaker 6: the Doctor, part of a humanoid species called time Lords.
- 16:59Speaker 6: Time Lord, we've all got a smart watch nowadays. Like
- 17:03Speaker 6: classic British arrogance, the Doctor uses a time traveling spaceship
- 17:09Speaker 6: called the Tartis. Externally, it appears as a British police
- 17:13Speaker 6: box and internally it looks like meow Wolf. While traveling,
- 17:20Speaker 6: the Doctor works to save lives and liberate oppressed peoples
- 17:23Speaker 6: by combating foes such as the Daleks, the Cybermen, and
- 17:28Speaker 6: the Master. And if you can currently picture all three, god,
- 17:33Speaker 6: I'm sure you're gonna lose your virginity someday. The Doctor
- 17:38Speaker 6: usually travels with companions, or, as we call them nowadays,
- 17:42Speaker 6: sex workers. Doctor Who is one of the original fandoms
- 17:49Speaker 6: to spawn fan fiction, so you can blame the Doctor
- 17:53Speaker 6: for all of the horrific fan fix that Matt reads
- 17:56Speaker 6: on this very podcast. Hop in the spaceship as size
- 18:02Speaker 6: through space and time to play pandemonium.
- 18:06Speaker 1: Yes, and Aaron is right, you should be thanking me
- 18:09Speaker 1: for those fan fakes.
- 18:11Speaker 6: They really need a signal boost.
- 18:16Speaker 1: They don't. They're view by millions of people already. The
- 18:18Speaker 1: world is a nightmare. Damn, thank you for that, dra
- 18:21Speaker 1: That was That was an excellent passing knowledge. I'm sure
- 18:23Speaker 1: that's everyone caught up on Doctor Who. But just before
- 18:27Speaker 1: we get to today's games. I've asked each player to
- 18:29Speaker 1: bring in a muse, something that inspires them or something
- 18:32Speaker 1: they love from this particular fandom. Doctor Who is inspiring
- 18:36Speaker 1: to me because it's a British institution, so I have
- 18:39Speaker 1: to find it inspiring otherwise the ghost of Queen Elizabeth
- 18:42Speaker 1: I will devour me. That's a more sexual than I
- 18:45Speaker 1: wanted it.
- 18:47Speaker 6: I didn't think it sounded sexual.
- 18:50Speaker 4: Until you said it.
- 18:50Speaker 1: Okay, Well, moving on, Drew, we will start with you.
- 18:54Speaker 1: What's inspiring you from the world of Doc Who.
- 18:56Speaker 5: I am just such a big fan of the show.
- 18:58Speaker 5: There's so many easy things to pick, but I think
- 19:01Speaker 5: it's it's the first show my wife and I really
- 19:03Speaker 5: got into together. She admits it was very much the oh,
- 19:06Speaker 5: this is the thing he's into. ILL watched it with
- 19:08Speaker 5: him and then like got into it and we went
- 19:11Speaker 5: back and started the series or at least from the
- 19:13Speaker 5: twenty and five reboot together, and like get I remember
- 19:17Speaker 5: her getting to the point that had she had started
- 19:19Speaker 5: watching with me, like like in the like where were
- 19:21Speaker 5: Matt Smith era and crying in an episode and going,
- 19:24Speaker 5: I understand why you were crying that night now, And
- 19:27Speaker 5: I always thought it was so dumb.
- 19:28Speaker 4: I totally get it.
- 19:29Speaker 5: So I think just as a show that bonded us
- 19:33Speaker 5: amazing and it also did kind of lead to us
- 19:35Speaker 5: to one of the coolest things ever seeing Matt Smith
- 19:38Speaker 5: and Arthur Darvil live performing Me and Rahapsody.
- 19:41Speaker 4: Nice. I will share the clip of the discord later.
- 19:45Speaker 1: They were just doing a Queen tribute band together.
- 19:47Speaker 5: No, they were doing a Q and a panel at
- 19:49Speaker 5: Comic Con in Toronto, and they decided while they were
- 19:51Speaker 5: waiting for people to show up to just break into
- 19:53Speaker 5: bow rap on the middle of the stage.
- 19:54Speaker 3: Incredibleties. I'm so glad I could move you.
- 20:00Speaker 1: Thank you, Matt, You're welcome, powerful, powerful stuff. Yeah, that's
- 20:05Speaker 1: a great mus Drew. It's lovely when media brings people
- 20:08Speaker 1: close it together, connecting over ashd interests. I what a
- 20:11Speaker 1: dick I would be if I said that was a
- 20:13Speaker 1: terrible muse.
- 20:15Speaker 4: I'd fight you what he said, but then he edited
- 20:17Speaker 4: out good in the comments.
- 20:23Speaker 1: Thank you so much for sharing your muse, Drew. Let's
- 20:25Speaker 1: find out what the other huff of dentist. Why Aaron,
- 20:31Speaker 1: what do you got?
- 20:31Speaker 2: I have some things, like I said from Doctor Who,
- 20:34Speaker 2: I have a David Tenant action figure that I have
- 20:37Speaker 2: been unable to lay my hands on, but he's around somewhere.
- 20:41Speaker 2: I know.
- 20:41Speaker 4: I didn't sell them or get rid of him.
- 20:43Speaker 2: And uh I also have the legendary Doctor Who version
- 20:46Speaker 2: that I printed out and have laid a grand total
- 20:49Speaker 2: of twice. So not the wisest investment ever. But I
- 20:53Speaker 2: think what what I take from it is just how
- 20:57Speaker 2: much that show exposed me to British television. Like I
- 21:01Speaker 2: can draw a direct line from my watching Doctor Who
- 21:05Speaker 2: to watching eight out of ten Cats clips on YouTube,
- 21:09Speaker 2: to you know, other shows on YouTube, to looking up
- 21:13Speaker 2: other British panel shows online in other places that you
- 21:16Speaker 2: can't see on YouTube, you know, and to eventually to
- 21:20Speaker 2: some of my favorite shows like task Master and What
- 21:23Speaker 2: I Lie to You? So I have, I have, I
- 21:26Speaker 2: have Doctor Who to thank for a massive majority of
- 21:29Speaker 2: the entertainment that I've gotten from British TV. So yeah,
- 21:34Speaker 2: that's my muse. That's great. It is it's a British institution.
- 21:39Speaker 2: Is a TV show and of itself, just because of
- 21:40Speaker 2: how long running it is, But then it often makes
- 21:43Speaker 2: references to the British television landscape because that's what it's
- 21:47Speaker 2: a part of.
- 21:49Speaker 1: Thinking. The Season one finale specifically of them going into
- 21:52Speaker 1: Big Brother and the Weakest Link and things like that.
- 21:55Speaker 4: Yeah, oh my god, yeah I don't hell yeah.
- 21:57Speaker 6: It's cool to see like the seed that even though
- 22:01Speaker 6: like Doctor Who isn't the thing that's currently the number
- 22:05Speaker 6: one in your life, it's the thing like this is
- 22:08Speaker 6: the seed that grew so much that to this day
- 22:11Speaker 6: brings me joy. Is just freaking cool.
- 22:15Speaker 1: Yeah hell yeah, yeah, very inspiring, great stuff. I'm feeling
- 22:19Speaker 1: so inspired by these dentists. Okay, moving on over to
- 22:26Speaker 1: the russell T babies. Matt, what's inspiring you from the
- 22:30Speaker 1: world of Doctor Who?
- 22:31Speaker 4: Well, I would like to.
- 22:34Speaker 3: Say that it is my namesake, right, yeah, that's fair.
- 22:37Speaker 3: It's my own, very own namesake. But for real, though,
- 22:42Speaker 3: for I started watching Doctor Who late and went.
- 22:46Speaker 4: I didn't watch it.
- 22:46Speaker 3: When it first oh obviously when it first came out.
- 22:48Speaker 3: I wasn't born when the reboots came out. I didn't
- 22:53Speaker 3: start watching them in two thousand and five. I didn't
- 22:55Speaker 3: start watching them until like twenty I want to say
- 22:58Speaker 3: twenty sixteen, me is when.
- 23:00Speaker 4: We started to watch them.
- 23:03Speaker 3: But so like years earlier, Matt Smith and Matt Matt
- 23:05Speaker 3: Smith had already come and gone.
- 23:07Speaker 4: So for a while there.
- 23:08Speaker 3: I would run into people every once in a while, right,
- 23:10Speaker 3: always always huge nerds, always onwards, weird, awkward weird nerds.
- 23:13Speaker 3: I love awkward weird nerds. I'm one of them. But
- 23:16Speaker 3: they always be like like, oh, like the doctor. We'll
- 23:18Speaker 3: be like like, yeah, n's mass Math. Oh look the doctor.
- 23:21Speaker 3: I'm like, what the fuck are you talking about her?
- 23:23Speaker 6: I've never got the medical school.
- 23:25Speaker 2: Yeah.
- 23:28Speaker 3: And and just before his face is a bloody pulp
- 23:31Speaker 3: on the pavement, I'm like, you're talking about doctor who.
- 23:34Speaker 4: I'm send them, dust them off, send them to a doctor,
- 23:38Speaker 4: send them to a doctor.
- 23:39Speaker 3: Oh but I don't need to send them anywhere because
- 23:41Speaker 3: I am a doctor mass Actually yeah, at a at work,
- 23:45Speaker 3: we use slack uh uh even familiar with that custom
- 23:49Speaker 3: emojis in there.
- 23:51Speaker 4: I put in the doctor who Matt Smith emoji.
- 23:53Speaker 3: And whenever anybody in my team is like I have
- 23:55Speaker 3: a doctor's boyman day, I always respond with doctor who.
- 23:58Speaker 3: I imagine that everybody else it's like, oh, they're just
- 24:01Speaker 3: going to see me.
- 24:04Speaker 4: I probably talked.
- 24:05Speaker 3: I don't think I got enough into why that's uh,
- 24:08Speaker 3: that's amused, But I probably said enough words.
- 24:10Speaker 4: Yeah you said.
- 24:13Speaker 1: What I can pull from it is you're inspired by
- 24:16Speaker 1: beating up nerds who approach.
- 24:18Speaker 4: You no.
- 24:20Speaker 6: Great deal.
- 24:24Speaker 4: A genuine answer.
- 24:26Speaker 1: That was a genuine answer.
- 24:28Speaker 4: I love ridiculous shit.
- 24:31Speaker 3: I love campy stuff that doesn't take itself too seriously,
- 24:35Speaker 3: especially when every once in a while it does kind
- 24:36Speaker 3: of take itself seriously and like a you know, like
- 24:39Speaker 3: it'll be a profound and interesting concept sometimes like huh,
- 24:43Speaker 3: I never even thought of that before, where most things
- 24:46Speaker 3: are kind of run of the mill. You've seen it
- 24:48Speaker 3: a thousand times before, and this is just a new
- 24:50Speaker 3: version of it. Doctor Who has a lot of unique.
- 24:53Speaker 1: Yeah concepts, definitely, Definitely, there's always a couple of ocs
- 24:56Speaker 1: or cereals per season that like, huh, that's a pretty
- 24:59Speaker 1: unique side I take exactly so with.
- 25:01Speaker 4: My unique name Matt Smith, it's uniqueness about.
- 25:05Speaker 1: That's your use, that's your meus. Okay, I'll cut the
- 25:07Speaker 1: previous thing then and just leave that second parties it
- 25:09Speaker 1: sounds it's all staying in uh. Sweet And finally, Odro,
- 25:14Speaker 1: what's inspiring you from the world of Doctor Who.
- 25:16Speaker 6: I love a good needle drop, any needle drop that
- 25:20Speaker 6: is like, when it's done well, it's so good and
- 25:23Speaker 6: there is a Doctor Who episode that has one of
- 25:27Speaker 6: the most perfect needle drops, and the song that they
- 25:31Speaker 6: play is Britney Spears Toxic.
- 25:34Speaker 4: Yes, it's so good.
- 25:37Speaker 6: Like Matt was talking about this type of thing where
- 25:40Speaker 6: it is so silly, but there is such a profound
- 25:42Speaker 6: thing of like it's the end of the world, Like
- 25:45Speaker 6: genuinely they have traveled to where our solar system spoilers,
- 25:50Speaker 6: where our solar system explodes, and they as they watch it,
- 25:56Speaker 6: the last human who looks nothing like a human now
- 26:00Speaker 6: says we're going to play an ancient ballad of old
- 26:05Speaker 6: one of the greatest songs of old time, and then
- 26:12Speaker 6: just this needle drop as the planet starts to explode,
- 26:15Speaker 6: and it's Yes, such an incredible moment of like a
- 26:25Speaker 6: human of our time having to watch the universe explode
- 26:29Speaker 6: at the end. But that's the song that's playing in
- 26:31Speaker 6: the background. Ah God, I love it. It can be both,
- 26:35Speaker 6: like you said, ridiculous and serious at the same time,
- 26:39Speaker 6: which I aspire to going forward.
- 26:43Speaker 1: Yeah, that's that's the vibe and tone of this podcast.
- 26:46Speaker 1: And I think, yeah, it's a it's a fantastic choice
- 26:49Speaker 1: of song. I'm glad they chose something that was like
- 26:51Speaker 1: a huge hit at the time, so it still has
- 26:54Speaker 1: the chance of twenty years later a registering of oh no,
- 26:57Speaker 1: that's a funny yes, pop hit to.
- 26:59Speaker 6: Pick genuinely the perfect one because it's not gonna be
- 27:02Speaker 6: a one hit wonder we know that Britney Spears is established. Yeah,
- 27:06Speaker 6: so it's like iconic person, very iconic song.
- 27:11Speaker 4: But so of the time.
- 27:12Speaker 3: At that I mean, at that point future you're not
- 27:15Speaker 3: gonna be able to disassociated from Beethoven. They're not gonna yes, right,
- 27:19Speaker 3: they're gonna Blakespear's Beethoven. You have both great old music.
- 27:22Speaker 1: Yeah, huh, it's like Beethoven, Miles Davis, Britney Spears. It's
- 27:27Speaker 1: all the same. Canis same thing?
- 27:30Speaker 4: Yeah to those yeah those future years.
- 27:33Speaker 1: Well that's a that's another great music. Music, always inspiring, Audra.
- 27:38Speaker 1: I'm very feeling very inspired by the russell T Babies,
- 27:40Speaker 1: which is one of our cutest team names.
- 27:43Speaker 6: Google Goga.
- 27:47Speaker 1: Very good.
- 27:47Speaker 4: I won't do that again.
- 27:49Speaker 1: I think we're ready for some games. The joke's already
- 27:53Speaker 1: been made. Let's do some games, all right. Themes Let's
- 27:57Speaker 1: scoop up a random twenty year old off the street.
- 27:59Speaker 1: That's why he does and time travel into Round one.
- 28:06Speaker 1: Around one is our classic game of deliberation, elimination and
- 28:10Speaker 1: deception that this time we're calling doctor, Who the hell
- 28:13Speaker 1: are you talking about? I will name a category and
- 28:16Speaker 1: in turns offer each team a list of five things
- 28:19Speaker 1: supposedly from that category. Select correct answers one by one
- 28:22Speaker 1: for a point each, but select an incorrect answer and
- 28:25Speaker 1: you'll be frozen out of the list, like so many
- 28:27Speaker 1: characters who get frozen in time. The Doctor kills so
- 28:31Speaker 1: many people.
- 28:32Speaker 5: Hey, no, no one ever dies. They just aren't around anymore.
- 28:38Speaker 5: Your pet mob esque. That's just not It's all in semantics.
- 28:43Speaker 6: They went to a planet upstate, all right.
- 28:49Speaker 1: So the first category we have is actors who have
- 28:52Speaker 1: played the Doctor. So this is actors who have played
- 28:56Speaker 1: the Doctor. And we're going to start with a list
- 28:58Speaker 1: for dentists. Why is your list of five names? Ian McKellen,
- 29:03Speaker 1: Christopher Eccleston, John Pertwee, Patrick Salmonville and Rowan Atkinson.
- 29:11Speaker 5: I mean we have the obvious freebie will take yep
- 29:14Speaker 5: of Eccleston.
- 29:15Speaker 4: Ecleston, John Pertwee is another one? Really, I wasn't aware
- 29:19Speaker 4: of that one, So yeah, well it's lock at Eckleston.
- 29:21Speaker 1: All right, taking Eccleston. Eckleston absolutely is correct, the easy one,
- 29:25Speaker 1: the Northern doctor my favorite.
- 29:27Speaker 5: Yeah, honestly, on rewatch, one of the better doctors. Like
- 29:30Speaker 5: he's genuinely I feel like he's underrated until you've gone
- 29:32Speaker 5: back to him. Yeah, and then you said who was
- 29:34Speaker 5: the second one? Aaron John Pertwee is another one.
- 29:37Speaker 1: John, Yeah, absolutely, the third doctor from Classic two Days.
- 29:43Speaker 2: I'm not sure about this, but I think Rowan Atkinson
- 29:46Speaker 2: once played a doctor in some thing. I don't think
- 29:51Speaker 2: he was part of the official Doctor Who series, but
- 29:54Speaker 2: it could have been like an award show or something
- 29:56Speaker 2: else along those lines.
- 29:58Speaker 4: Time Bean.
- 30:04Speaker 1: It was you have Ian McKellen and Patrick Salmonville.
- 30:09Speaker 4: That's a made up name that sounds the way too
- 30:11Speaker 4: made up.
- 30:11Speaker 5: Ian McKellen I feel like has never but I could
- 30:14Speaker 5: see Atkinson doing it in like some way where it
- 30:16Speaker 5: was like it's officially Cannon that he was the doctor
- 30:19Speaker 5: for like one weird bit and they call it official.
- 30:22Speaker 4: I'd be okay with putting that one in.
- 30:24Speaker 1: Going with Ron Atkinson. Yeah, with apologies to the family
- 30:29Speaker 1: of Patrick Salmonville. No, it is it is Ron Atkinson,
- 30:33Speaker 1: his fictional family that broke and Aaron got it spot on.
- 30:39Speaker 1: It was it was considered an official parody. It was
- 30:43Speaker 1: for Comic Relief, the BBC sort of telethon charity.
- 30:47Speaker 4: That was like, that was where I was going with
- 30:48Speaker 4: it too.
- 30:49Speaker 5: It's like I've definitely heard of like some of those
- 30:50Speaker 5: weird like once they've done for like shows like that
- 30:52Speaker 5: where it's like it's the it's the actual cast and
- 30:55Speaker 5: crew doing it. So it's cannon but it's a one
- 30:57Speaker 5: off bit.
- 30:57Speaker 1: Yes, yeah, so you didn't fall for that. And Patrick Salmonville,
- 31:02Speaker 1: Patrick Troughton was the was the second doctor.
- 31:07Speaker 4: Change.
- 31:07Speaker 2: I knew there was a Patrick, but I didn't know
- 31:09Speaker 2: his last name, but I knew it wasn't Samondville.
- 31:14Speaker 1: Sorry to the salmon Ville who are listening.
- 31:16Speaker 4: Troutman, you sly bastard.
- 31:21Speaker 1: All right, let's have a list of five doctor actors
- 31:24Speaker 1: for russell T babies. Here is your list of five names.
- 31:27Speaker 4: Don't fall for Patrick Perchtown.
- 31:31Speaker 1: You have Jody Whittaker, Alistair C Brooks, Hugh Grant, Paul
- 31:37Speaker 1: McGann and Ben Kingsley.
- 31:40Speaker 6: So definitely we can lock in Jody Whittaker. Jody Whittaker,
- 31:43Speaker 6: Jody wit.
- 31:45Speaker 1: There's you. There's your freebie, and I think Paul McGann
- 31:48Speaker 1: is one of them.
- 31:49Speaker 6: Both of our eyebrows went up when that name was said.
- 31:52Speaker 4: I think we've.
- 31:53Speaker 1: Got that, yeah, Paul mc yep, you're going with Paul
- 31:56Speaker 1: mcg literally said his name half an hour ago. But yes, absolutely,
- 31:59Speaker 1: they go.
- 32:00Speaker 4: He's saying home again again, saying.
- 32:03Speaker 6: It again now the other one, because I don't think
- 32:07Speaker 6: Ben Kingsley, I don't or there was Ben.
- 32:14Speaker 4: It was Ward. John Hurt was a war doctor.
- 32:16Speaker 3: And I feel like John Hurt is what he's trying
- 32:18Speaker 3: to trick us with Ben Kingsley, Like I feel like
- 32:20Speaker 3: he's trying to trick us with Ben Kingsley.
- 32:22Speaker 4: And John Hurt.
- 32:23Speaker 6: Do we think, mayhaps be there was a similar Hugh
- 32:27Speaker 6: Grant situation to the Rowan Atkinson situation.
- 32:31Speaker 4: I don't think you don't. I don't think that. I
- 32:34Speaker 4: don't think there's a doctor who romance. I don't think that.
- 32:40Speaker 1: What was the other thing, this full Weddings in a
- 32:42Speaker 1: time Wall.
- 32:45Speaker 4: That was pretty great? Actually wasn't Rowan Atkinson in that too?
- 32:50Speaker 1: The do you want the of the on again? You've
- 32:52Speaker 1: got Alistair C. Brooks is your the name Ben Kingsley?
- 32:55Speaker 1: I just have and obviously, Q Grant.
- 32:59Speaker 6: I just have no memory of Alistair.
- 33:02Speaker 3: Yeah, I have no memory of pretty much any of
- 33:05Speaker 3: the actors before Eccleston, because I don't know who any
- 33:08Speaker 3: of them were, because I didn't do any research at.
- 33:11Speaker 2: Trying to come up with more Hugh Grant, doctor who crossovers,
- 33:13Speaker 2: and all I keep coming with is nine hundred months.
- 33:16Speaker 4: I was trying to do music and lyrics, but it
- 33:18Speaker 4: wasn't working either.
- 33:20Speaker 6: Yeah, of the of the ones that we have as
- 33:22Speaker 6: an option, who do we think is our best?
- 33:24Speaker 4: I think it's Alison, That's my.
- 33:27Speaker 6: I honestly, I have no idea. So let's go with it.
- 33:31Speaker 6: Let's say that Alistair is just one of the doctors.
- 33:33Speaker 4: Alister Dallas Brooks.
- 33:36Speaker 1: That's not correct.
- 33:37Speaker 4: I told you. You told me for recording back.
- 33:44Speaker 1: There's evidence yours was a harder trick there. Sylvester McCoy
- 33:49Speaker 1: is the name of one of the other doctors. McCoy's
- 33:52Speaker 1: is a type of potato chip in the UK, and
- 33:54Speaker 1: so is ce Brooks. So it a different potato chips name.
- 33:57Speaker 1: And by chip you mean Chris, I do, but I'm
- 33:59Speaker 1: speaking the language. I'm okay. And the correct answer was
- 34:05Speaker 1: Hugh Grant. Wasn't another it was another parody. It was
- 34:09Speaker 1: another comedy parody. Yeah, sorry, Hey, look all right.
- 34:16Speaker 6: We're we're in this thing together. The Russell T Baby's
- 34:19Speaker 6: got to stick together.
- 34:21Speaker 4: It's all good if.
- 34:22Speaker 6: We're going to grow up to be big and strong.
- 34:27Speaker 4: Russell T. Davies, the guy whose daughter married David Tennant.
- 34:32Speaker 1: I don't think so.
- 34:35Speaker 4: The daughter was the daughter of another the Moffatt.
- 34:38Speaker 1: I think it's Moffette.
- 34:39Speaker 4: Yeah, all right, bod he married a daughter of another doctor. Yeah,
- 34:43Speaker 4: it's one of the other doctors. I forget which one.
- 34:45Speaker 4: It was the fifth one, Baker, maybe not Baker, but
- 34:49Speaker 4: one of them.
- 34:50Speaker 3: Yeah, and she played his daughter in the show. Yes,
- 34:53Speaker 3: he married her in real life. Yeah, that's creepy time sess.
- 34:59Speaker 4: Times. Oh god, wasn't enough. Now we're getting into time
- 35:04Speaker 4: sets happen.
- 35:06Speaker 3: Twenty year old humans off the street. He's bills, he's
- 35:09Speaker 3: millions of years old. Yeah, that's groomy, it's crazy.
- 35:14Speaker 1: I don't approve. Okay. Next category is the titles of
- 35:19Speaker 1: Doctor who Cereals. Oh so this could be an in
- 35:23Speaker 1: the modern era, it could just be the episode title.
- 35:26Speaker 1: In the previous era, they used to call it a
- 35:28Speaker 1: serial where it would be like five episodes would be
- 35:31Speaker 1: titled this serial.
- 35:32Speaker 4: I definitely thought you meant Breakfast Cereal. I believe you
- 35:35Speaker 4: disappointed that.
- 35:36Speaker 1: You didn't know that would be there's probably only one
- 35:39Speaker 1: of those, yeah, dollar O's.
- 35:41Speaker 5: Yeah, because when I was sitting here being like, I
- 35:43Speaker 5: can't even think Doctor Who the ends of the would work.
- 35:45Speaker 1: For the Yeah, Extermino's Okay, so we are going to
- 35:49Speaker 1: go with Dentist. Why here is your list of five
- 35:52Speaker 1: Doctor Who Cereals, the Wheel in Space, Clash of the Cylons,
- 35:58Speaker 1: Snake Dance, Planet of Nightmaz and The Happiness Patrol.
- 36:03Speaker 4: Any of those working for you?
- 36:05Speaker 2: Aaron, Nope, Literally, all I got is that I thought
- 36:08Speaker 2: the Cylons were from Battlestar Galactica, But I don't.
- 36:11Speaker 4: Know they are a race.
- 36:13Speaker 2: I don't know if there's also a race in Doctor Who,
- 36:16Speaker 2: which they can be. I would think it would be
- 36:19Speaker 2: weird for them to go for that because they already
- 36:21Speaker 2: have the Cybermen. There's too many size and people are
- 36:24Speaker 2: gonna get confused.
- 36:28Speaker 4: But even SA for some reason, rings a bell for
- 36:31Speaker 4: some reason. I'm good. I'm down with that. What were
- 36:34Speaker 4: the last two?
- 36:34Speaker 1: Again, the last two but planets of Nightmaz and the
- 36:37Speaker 1: Happiness Patrol.
- 36:39Speaker 4: I like the Happiness Patrol. Those those two also sound
- 36:42Speaker 4: pretty good.
- 36:43Speaker 2: Yeah that hints at some kind of dystopian society.
- 36:47Speaker 4: I mean, none of them, none of them more than
- 36:49Speaker 4: any others. Like those three are my like top contenders.
- 36:52Speaker 5: Yeah, let's how you feel.
- 36:55Speaker 4: Let's I want to start with the wheel of space. Honestly,
- 36:58Speaker 4: do you think?
- 36:58Speaker 3: So?
- 36:59Speaker 4: Let's do wheels face. Let's see if I be on.
- 37:02Speaker 1: You the wheel in space. Yes, that is a correct
- 37:05Speaker 1: cereal from all the way back to the second Doctor. Yeah, wow, superky.
- 37:11Speaker 4: No Happiness Patrol next, I'm with Yeah, like I said,
- 37:14Speaker 4: happiness Patrol.
- 37:14Speaker 5: On the other one of the end, there were my
- 37:15Speaker 5: two like top contenders for number two, So either one
- 37:18Speaker 5: really so happiness Patrol.
- 37:19Speaker 1: Okay, going with Happiness Patrol. I don't know if it's dystopian,
- 37:22Speaker 1: but it is correct. Yeah, it's seventh Doctor, just right
- 37:26Speaker 1: near the end of the original run.
- 37:27Speaker 4: Okay.
- 37:28Speaker 5: And then so our last three were the silent one,
- 37:30Speaker 5: which we already said sounds stupid.
- 37:33Speaker 4: It sounds like it might belong to something else.
- 37:35Speaker 1: Yes, but I'm sure Battlestar Galactica fans might have other
- 37:39Speaker 1: thoughts about how stupid.
- 37:41Speaker 4: Yeah, I just like that show.
- 37:43Speaker 2: I just feel back because I've been ragging on Matt
- 37:45Speaker 2: a lot for his titles lately, and I'm just trying
- 37:47Speaker 2: to back.
- 37:48Speaker 1: Hey, it gets me a right better title, so it's
- 37:50Speaker 1: all good.
- 37:51Speaker 4: Uh, clearly it's working. Shit.
- 37:53Speaker 1: Yeah, snake Dance and Planet of Nightmares two.
- 37:57Speaker 5: Planet of Nightmares sounds familiar, but snaked This seems weird
- 38:00Speaker 5: enough that it might be a thing.
- 38:02Speaker 4: Do you you have a gut check on either one? Even?
- 38:04Speaker 4: Just like an inkling. Honestly, snake dance. Fuck it, Let's
- 38:07Speaker 4: do snake dance. Snake dance.
- 38:10Speaker 5: Just for those listening only. Our opponents are dancing snakily
- 38:14Speaker 5: towards us.
- 38:17Speaker 1: Thanks Matreon dot com slash skate leapers get involved. Okay,
- 38:23Speaker 1: so we have snake dance. Is that the third correct
- 38:26Speaker 1: answer in this quite difficult list. Yes, it is snake
- 38:30Speaker 1: dance dance. I love it.
- 38:39Speaker 4: Zero.
- 38:40Speaker 5: We need to address something, Matt. You just started singing
- 38:42Speaker 5: snake dance to the tune of safety Dance. What is
- 38:44Speaker 5: the next line of that song? You can dance if
- 38:47Speaker 5: you want to. You can leave your friends behind.
- 38:49Speaker 1: I didn't get snake yet.
- 38:52Speaker 4: Looking at your hands.
- 38:53Speaker 1: You want to you can leave your skin behind.
- 38:55Speaker 4: You can leave your skin behind. Okay, wait, this could
- 38:59Speaker 4: actually work. All there was a lot of it, A
- 39:00Speaker 4: hands on how your work out.
- 39:01Speaker 2: One, let's work shop, this, let's work shop this, there's
- 39:03Speaker 2: something here, sneaky dance.
- 39:08Speaker 4: Yeah.
- 39:10Speaker 1: I'll offer a list of doctor who cereals to russell
- 39:13Speaker 1: t babies if dentist. Why I want to start planning that? Okay, okay,
- 39:19Speaker 1: So here is your list of five non breakfast cereals
- 39:22Speaker 1: will come seasons. That's that's the American translations.
- 39:26Speaker 4: You meet like August. Oh god, damn it, that's a
- 39:29Speaker 4: month to say autumn, Autumn of snakes.
- 39:36Speaker 1: I'm leaving all of this in so.
- 39:40Speaker 4: Episode though Autumn Snakes.
- 39:44Speaker 1: Your list of five cereals are the clause of Axos,
- 39:48Speaker 1: the Magician of Brighton Rock, Operation flash Point, Terror of
- 39:54Speaker 1: the Vervoids, and the leisure Hive.
- 39:58Speaker 4: So as far as every single earned coimp.
- 40:01Speaker 6: Flip the first one, say the first one again.
- 40:05Speaker 1: The first one, the clause of Axos.
- 40:08Speaker 6: I don't know why. That feels like a thing.
- 40:10Speaker 4: Okay, it feels like a thing real quick. Remind me
- 40:13Speaker 4: if we get it wrong.
- 40:14Speaker 3: Do we get we get three guesses even if we
- 40:16Speaker 3: so first, we get wrong, we're done.
- 40:18Speaker 1: It's a lockout. It's a lockout situation.
- 40:21Speaker 3: Yeah, okay, well I did badly last time. I let
- 40:26Speaker 3: us astray. So let's go with whatever you just said,
- 40:30Speaker 3: the clause of axos or what.
- 40:31Speaker 1: Yes, it was indeed the clause of axos. And it
- 40:34Speaker 1: is a doctor who Cereal for doctor John pertwee Okay.
- 40:39Speaker 6: I just remember hearing that one and being like that
- 40:41Speaker 6: sounds familiar.
- 40:42Speaker 1: Would you like the the four again?
- 40:43Speaker 4: Yes, we would.
- 40:44Speaker 1: You have the Magician of Brighton Rock, Operation flash Point,
- 40:48Speaker 1: Terror of the Vervoids, and the leisure Hive.
- 40:52Speaker 6: The leisure Hive.
- 40:53Speaker 3: I feel like that one sounds so stupid that he
- 40:56Speaker 3: wouldn't have made that up.
- 40:57Speaker 4: Try to Sun, Huh.
- 40:59Speaker 3: It sounds so stupid. If he made that one up,
- 41:01Speaker 3: then Matt's so stupid. And yeah, I mean your husband,
- 41:04Speaker 3: not me.
- 41:07Speaker 4: I am.
- 41:07Speaker 6: I am down to go for the leisure Hive because
- 41:10Speaker 6: I can. I can that one. I can imagine a
- 41:13Speaker 6: series where they go there and it's like a spa.
- 41:15Speaker 4: Yeah, there's like bees chilling.
- 41:19Speaker 6: It's just like a lovely time and they think nothing
- 41:21Speaker 6: bad can happen.
- 41:22Speaker 3: Here, and something does it and all the bees die,
- 41:26Speaker 3: So you go with a leisure hive.
- 41:27Speaker 6: I'm gonna say leisure Hive.
- 41:29Speaker 1: It's correct, and I hope it's. That's what the story is. Yes,
- 41:32Speaker 1: it's from the Tombaker era.
- 41:33Speaker 6: Nice, Okay. I have no idea on the other ones.
- 41:36Speaker 6: I don't think the second one is free.
- 41:37Speaker 3: I feel like the one the Wizard of Brighton or whatever.
- 41:40Speaker 3: That sounds so British it had to have come out.
- 41:43Speaker 3: Oh well, shit, this is a British show. Everything about
- 41:45Speaker 3: this is British.
- 41:48Speaker 4: The britishness of it against it.
- 41:50Speaker 3: Yeah, that Matt came up with it because it's so
- 41:53Speaker 3: much Britishness everywhere.
- 41:55Speaker 6: Yep, it's the perfect track. But I still don't think
- 41:59Speaker 6: it's that one.
- 42:00Speaker 4: Like it is that one either?
- 42:00Speaker 6: Can you tell us the other two that aren't that one?
- 42:02Speaker 1: Yes, you have Operation flash Point and Terror of the Vervoids.
- 42:07Speaker 3: Terror of the Vervoids sounds so sounds I don't know.
- 42:11Speaker 6: We've gone for the silly answer in the hive.
- 42:14Speaker 4: Let's go to the flesh. I feel like we should
- 42:15Speaker 4: go Operation flash.
- 42:16Speaker 6: Let's go Operation flash Point.
- 42:18Speaker 4: We're gonna go Operation flash Point, all.
- 42:21Speaker 1: Right, Let's see if it's Operation flash Points it's not.
- 42:27Speaker 4: That's a video game.
- 42:28Speaker 1: Oh yeah, sorry, guys, that was a that was a trick.
- 42:34Speaker 1: But you didn't fall for the Magician of Brighton Rock,
- 42:36Speaker 1: which was the other fake one. It was Terror of
- 42:39Speaker 1: the Vervoids.
- 42:40Speaker 4: What are voids? Because it sound they sound like yeah, yeah, yeah.
- 42:49Speaker 4: I think they give you the source of verve in
- 42:52Speaker 4: your body. It's an an organ.
- 42:55Speaker 2: Okay, okay, I like listen, one of the Doctor episodes
- 42:58Speaker 2: I saw had like actual fats from human bodies as enemies.
- 43:02Speaker 4: So that's so true. Literally, anything's fair game.
- 43:04Speaker 5: Yeah, all love those little fuckers whose names I will
- 43:07Speaker 5: not say because there's a chances to the next game.
- 43:08Speaker 1: Hey look, speaking about Doctor Who villains, Uh, here we
- 43:13Speaker 1: go is that's the next category and we're going to
- 43:15Speaker 1: have a list for dentist. Why here you are five
- 43:18Speaker 1: villains absorble off not things, Betazoid, Sillipsis, and t trap.
- 43:28Speaker 4: I hate that I know one of these.
- 43:30Speaker 2: Well, I can tell you one that's not betazoid is
- 43:33Speaker 2: a is a race from Star Trek.
- 43:35Speaker 5: Oh, thank you for having my back on that one.
- 43:37Speaker 5: But I will walk in the one I know for
- 43:39Speaker 5: a fact, and it's an episod. I both love and hate.
- 43:41Speaker 5: That would be the absorble oft. I hate that episode
- 43:44Speaker 5: so much. It's the worst episode, such a weird episode.
- 43:46Speaker 5: The ending, the ending is so appropriate, really horrible ending.
- 43:50Speaker 1: But it is indeed true. So yeah, it'd be weird
- 43:53Speaker 1: if it wasn't true. And Matt was just confirming the plot.
- 43:56Speaker 5: To defend that a little bit. It was designed by
- 43:58Speaker 5: a five year old kid in a contest creature.
- 44:00Speaker 1: It was indeed, Yes, yeah, and played by Pizza k Yes,
- 44:05Speaker 1: that kid's an idiot.
- 44:09Speaker 4: Sucks.
- 44:10Speaker 1: Wow, I'm afraid to say it. Another afraid to say
- 44:12Speaker 1: that kid's an adult. Now you can say what you want.
- 44:14Speaker 5: Yeah, okay, So betazoids were taken off the table. Remind
- 44:19Speaker 5: me the three remaining.
- 44:20Speaker 1: Three remaining are not things sellipsis and t trap.
- 44:25Speaker 5: There's two that I'm really unsure of, and one is
- 44:27Speaker 5: I'm unsure but it sounds real, which is the Sillipsis.
- 44:30Speaker 5: So I'm kind of down to grab that one, just
- 44:32Speaker 5: for the more likeliness that it's real, unless Aaron, You've
- 44:35Speaker 5: got a weird like oh wait, maybe.
- 44:38Speaker 4: I don't know.
- 44:39Speaker 2: Sillipsis probably could be. Possibly, it sounds more like a
- 44:44Speaker 2: literary term.
- 44:46Speaker 5: It's it's it's it's when you have it's when you
- 44:47Speaker 5: have four dots out of three, it's an ellipses plus one.
- 44:51Speaker 5: This could be a doctor who Villa and probably fucking
- 44:53Speaker 5: know we had inanimate black cubes for a whole year.
- 44:57Speaker 1: Why not punctuation.
- 44:58Speaker 4: Yeah, honestly, we're is that episode and watch it. Honestly,
- 45:02Speaker 4: what reaches to me are the not things. Yeah, they
- 45:06Speaker 4: do have an them. That's a that's a.
- 45:10Speaker 2: Clever name for for like a racer or creatures like,
- 45:15Speaker 2: oh like they don't like they don't exist and yet
- 45:17Speaker 2: they do.
- 45:18Speaker 5: Yet I think I actually recall the episode that they
- 45:21Speaker 5: would be and if that's what I'm thinking what they're called.
- 45:23Speaker 5: So I'm kind of down for that one. Then that's
- 45:26Speaker 5: the best best shout. I guess that is correct?
- 45:29Speaker 2: Yeah, correct, So we're like that just leaves the EPs
- 45:35Speaker 2: and the T trap Yes, T traps plural, just T
- 45:41Speaker 2: trap singular.
- 45:43Speaker 4: Yeah, that's interesting.
- 45:44Speaker 5: It just sounds like a thing that happens to a
- 45:46Speaker 5: guy when he's trying to have sex with a teep
- 45:48Speaker 5: on get stuck.
- 45:50Speaker 3: It's like a it's like a finger trap, right mechanism,
- 45:56Speaker 3: but a teapot And for some reason I assume it
- 45:58Speaker 3: has to be your dick. It can't be your fingers,
- 46:00Speaker 3: your day.
- 46:00Speaker 1: Yeah, it has to be a decade to teafat come on, yeah,
- 46:09Speaker 1: the unholy fu what.
- 46:11Speaker 4: Do you think Kappa is? Guys ball? Yeah you won
- 46:19Speaker 4: the rife? Oh my god? Okay, Aaron, So we going
- 46:24Speaker 4: with T trap or you know what, let's say trap
- 46:29Speaker 4: because it's right, it'll be funnier.
- 46:32Speaker 1: All right, you going tea trap T trap? That is correct.
- 46:34Speaker 1: You've got Oh my god, that might be our first
- 46:38Speaker 1: nine out of nine in a while, like a full.
- 46:42Speaker 4: Perfect yeah, holy.
- 46:45Speaker 1: Perfect?
- 46:47Speaker 5: All right, very well play. It's never happened before. It's
- 46:50Speaker 5: too powerful at least I don't think before Before Before.
- 46:54Speaker 3: And the te trap have joined forces.
- 46:57Speaker 4: Terrifying.
- 46:58Speaker 1: Okay, so we have the Russell Tea babies and a
- 47:01Speaker 1: list of five villains for them. Here we go.
- 47:04Speaker 4: I can't take on.
- 47:10Speaker 6: I'm just a happy baby.
- 47:14Speaker 4: You just said.
- 47:15Speaker 6: Covered my balls if I could be.
- 47:20Speaker 1: Both, Audra, here is your list of five? Oh sorry, Matt,
- 47:23Speaker 1: also you I just said that because I had on
- 47:27Speaker 1: the brain.
- 47:27Speaker 4: I'll share.
- 47:28Speaker 1: Okay, So your list raxacorical fallipatorians, weed, creature, tyranids, plasma
- 47:37Speaker 1: of ore, and the damned I reckon into the microphone
- 47:43Speaker 1: when recording a podcast.
- 47:46Speaker 3: Feeling whispering, who are like, I need not make sure
- 47:50Speaker 3: the listeners don't hear when.
- 47:53Speaker 4: I don't want them to know what I'm thinking.
- 47:56Speaker 6: I feel I feel good about like I'm meaning towards
- 48:00Speaker 6: the first and as you were saying, not into the microphone,
- 48:04Speaker 6: the fourth and fifth? Is that what you were saying?
- 48:07Speaker 4: Four than the fifth? One?
- 48:09Speaker 5: Or no?
- 48:09Speaker 4: Actually the third? Can you read them again? Please? Yes
- 48:11Speaker 4: I can.
- 48:11Speaker 1: Let's let's start this whole list from the top. We
- 48:13Speaker 1: have the rexacorical, fallipatorians, weed, creature, tyranids, plasmaphole, and the
- 48:21Speaker 1: damned I think so again out loud.
- 48:27Speaker 4: Three is the one that I like.
- 48:29Speaker 6: The most, and you like three the most? Yeah, I
- 48:34Speaker 6: like one the most. But if you're confident in three.
- 48:36Speaker 4: I feel pretty confident. I feel like I've heard that word.
- 48:39Speaker 1: Okay, you're going for three? Yeah, tyrannids. Yeah, it's wrong.
- 48:44Speaker 7: Okay, So how about one, four and five? One is correct?
- 48:52Speaker 7: Uh huh, four is correct? Five is wrong?
- 48:56Speaker 6: Okay, I I I only would have gotten one point
- 49:01Speaker 6: because that is probably I probably would have gone for
- 49:04Speaker 6: one and then five.
- 49:05Speaker 3: Should have discussed it more with my teammate off offline,
- 49:11Speaker 3: the listeners.
- 49:13Speaker 4: Everything I always do.
- 49:15Speaker 6: Actually, this is mats fault for making you speak into
- 49:18Speaker 6: the microphone.
- 49:20Speaker 1: Oh so if you'd have had the chance to, if
- 49:21Speaker 1: I hadn't been thinking about our wonderful audience who choose
- 49:25Speaker 1: to listen to us, and we could have won, then
- 49:28Speaker 1: you could have won.
- 49:29Speaker 4: We got.
- 49:30Speaker 1: Unfortunately, I'm always thinking of the audience. So rax Cocai
- 49:34Speaker 1: flil Patorians, the the Slovene that's their long, silly name.
- 49:38Speaker 1: Tyranids are from Warhammer forty k that's where you might
- 49:41Speaker 1: know them from.
- 49:42Speaker 4: That is where I heard them.
- 49:45Speaker 1: A classic trick. And then weed creature is real. We
- 49:50Speaker 1: one of the the old doctor who seriales who is
- 49:53Speaker 1: a big bush that's exactly not athead, just a big bush. Wow,
- 49:58Speaker 1: and plas before know what it is, but there it is.
- 50:01Speaker 1: And the damn.
- 50:01Speaker 5: Plasm or the official term they use for like Morbius
- 50:05Speaker 5: because he's not a vampire. In some cannons, he's like
- 50:07Speaker 5: a plasma thingy Oh maybe that I thought, so I
- 50:12Speaker 5: knew it. I'm like, it's a plasma ffoor because it's
- 50:13Speaker 5: the weird thing that Morbius isn't a vampire, because yeah,
- 50:16Speaker 5: it's more than time.
- 50:18Speaker 1: Yeah, it's morbid time. And with that that is the
- 50:21Speaker 1: end of round one. Both the hearts. Let's ask the
- 50:24Speaker 1: doctor himself to calculate the latest scores. Never mind, he's
- 50:27Speaker 1: just randomly pressing the buttons on the fidget toy. That
- 50:30Speaker 1: is the tartis it really is? Okay?
- 50:34Speaker 4: This?
- 50:35Speaker 1: This is the most interesting first score, dentist. Why you're
- 50:39Speaker 1: on nine points and Russell t babies are on four points?
- 50:44Speaker 4: Oh dra.
- 50:46Speaker 6: I'm just a happy baby and four points is exciting.
- 50:50Speaker 6: I've never seen points before.
- 50:52Speaker 4: The whole world is new. Maybe I don't know.
- 50:59Speaker 1: I can't cow up. Next is round two, after some ads.
- 51:04Speaker 1: If you want to avoid the ads, consider following us
- 51:06Speaker 1: for free at patreon dot com slash gates leapers. You
- 51:09Speaker 1: get add free episodes as standard, and if you feel
- 51:12Speaker 1: like supporting independent comedy, then you also get video and
- 51:15Speaker 1: bonus episodes in return. What a brilliant system. See you
- 51:18Speaker 1: after this. Round two is called pitch It. It's the
- 51:27Speaker 1: game where I ask our players to take on the
- 51:29Speaker 1: role of junior media executives to pitch ideas to me
- 51:32Speaker 1: a senior media executive. This time I'm Russell T. Davies,
- 51:36Speaker 1: Welsh King of Doctor Who. Who are your bilbies? And
- 51:40Speaker 1: you're my sweet babies. I've gone Scottish already, probably not
- 51:45Speaker 1: going to do that accent.
- 51:46Speaker 4: That's enough.
- 51:47Speaker 1: I'm English. I shouldn't be doing those accents. Okay, So
- 51:52Speaker 1: classic pitch it stuff for a classic sci fi franchise.
- 51:56Speaker 1: My first prompt for you guys is which act should
- 52:00Speaker 1: play a future doctor? And I think we're gonna start
- 52:03Speaker 1: with Drew over on Dentist. Why with this one? Drew,
- 52:07Speaker 1: you have a minute to pitch me your idea for
- 52:09Speaker 1: an actor to play the doctor and why dentist? Why
- 52:12Speaker 1: the time starts now?
- 52:14Speaker 5: First of all, I'm going to take the obvious free
- 52:16Speaker 5: pass right here and say we need more female doctors.
- 52:18Speaker 5: Jody was fantastic suffered from poor writing, so I wanted
- 52:21Speaker 5: another female doctor a chance here to like go at
- 52:24Speaker 5: it again. And luckily, much like Aaron has shared before,
- 52:27Speaker 5: the connection to Doctor Who, another British comedy series has
- 52:30Speaker 5: led me down the route of finding a lot more
- 52:31Speaker 5: other fun British comedy series, including one that has introduced
- 52:34Speaker 5: many amazing British actors and actresses. And I am going
- 52:36Speaker 5: to select Sue Perkins. I think Sue Perkins already her
- 52:40Speaker 5: like regular go to day to day look looks like
- 52:43Speaker 5: she's caused playing as the Doctor half the time. I
- 52:45Speaker 5: mean that's outfit is basically wearing, including the David Tanne glasses.
- 52:49Speaker 5: And I think just her brand of comedy kind of
- 52:51Speaker 5: that stark, dry like like you never know when they're
- 52:55Speaker 5: actually telling a joke. They're just sort of like, oh,
- 52:57Speaker 5: that was funny, but was that a joke or was
- 52:58Speaker 5: that just the weird thing you said in past, And
- 53:00Speaker 5: they would just be a brilliant like portrayal the Doctor.
- 53:03Speaker 5: And I think when you get across the comedy, the serious,
- 53:05Speaker 5: the britishness and the style that everyone wants.
- 53:08Speaker 4: From their doctor.
- 53:09Speaker 5: All right, give you back those five seconds for timey
- 53:12Speaker 5: wimy reasons.
- 53:13Speaker 1: Thank you so much. I will treasure them. Yeah, that's
- 53:16Speaker 1: a great pick. That's a great pitch for anyone who
- 53:18Speaker 1: doesn't know who supe Perkins is by name used to
- 53:21Speaker 1: host The Great British Baking Show back as one of
- 53:25Speaker 1: the original hosts. And yeah, always dresses like the Doctor,
- 53:30Speaker 1: as you pointed out, true, So yeah, I know it.
- 53:32Speaker 5: Was like I was having a moment to where it
- 53:33Speaker 5: was like I know who I want. They were on
- 53:35Speaker 5: Task Master, they look like the doctor.
- 53:37Speaker 4: What hells their name? Again? I like pulled it up.
- 53:38Speaker 4: I'm like looking real quick.
- 53:40Speaker 1: Great pick great, pick. All right, we're gonna move on
- 53:42Speaker 1: over to I think, but I'll hear everyone's and then
- 53:45Speaker 1: rank them five four, three two. I think we'll go
- 53:48Speaker 1: with a rank system. Audre, you ready to pitch your actor?
- 53:52Speaker 1: I'm so ready. Okay, time starts now.
- 53:56Speaker 6: Much like Drew, I do think we need female representation
- 54:00Speaker 6: for the doctor, and agreeing with Drew as well, Jodie
- 54:05Speaker 6: Whittaker suffered from poor writing. We need a name so
- 54:09Speaker 6: big that no one will write poorly for her. We
- 54:13Speaker 6: need Olivia Coleman as the doctor.
- 54:16Speaker 1: Damn.
- 54:17Speaker 6: Olivia Coleman has a history of doing shows that she
- 54:22Speaker 6: is seen as being too good for, so things like
- 54:27Speaker 6: Peep Show. Mitchell and Webb repeatedly said she's too good
- 54:31Speaker 6: to be on this show, but she keeps coming back,
- 54:34Speaker 6: and so I don't think she's an unreasonable get for
- 54:37Speaker 6: something as iconic as doctor who such a mainstake. She
- 54:42Speaker 6: is a national treasure. Doctor who is a national treasure.
- 54:45Speaker 6: And I believe she's a name, as I said, so big,
- 54:48Speaker 6: no one would fucking dare writing poorly for Olivia Coleman.
- 54:54Speaker 6: I think that she could disappear.
- 54:57Speaker 1: We'll never find out what she could disappear. Answer, she
- 55:02Speaker 1: could disappear. Holy shit, she's perfect.
- 55:04Speaker 4: Second, she has.
- 55:05Speaker 5: Amazing The first show I ever saw her in was
- 55:09Speaker 5: broad Church, which starred her, Jody Whittaker and David Tennants.
- 55:12Speaker 6: Yes, she's already in the universe.
- 55:17Speaker 4: It was good. Yeah, I watched you. Yes, Arthur Darvil's
- 55:20Speaker 4: in it. Also the entire doctor Who cast is basically
- 55:23Speaker 4: in there.
- 55:23Speaker 1: Yeah, great pitch.
- 55:24Speaker 4: I'll try.
- 55:25Speaker 1: I'll reserve any more comments until we hear the other
- 55:28Speaker 1: two pitches. So we're going to move back on over
- 55:29Speaker 1: to dentist. Why Aaron, are you ready to make your
- 55:32Speaker 1: pitch for who should play a doctor?
- 55:34Speaker 5: Uh?
- 55:34Speaker 4: Kind of.
- 55:37Speaker 1: Well either way, Yeah, I'm looking forward to two points.
- 55:41Speaker 2: Naw, okay, Well we've had black representation, we've had female representation.
- 55:47Speaker 4: Why have we not had black female representation?
- 55:50Speaker 2: My pitch, Ladies and gentlemen is Sophie Duker is an
- 55:55Speaker 2: iconic British comedian. She was amazing on Task Master she
- 55:59Speaker 2: won the series. She is constantly wearing iconic looks that
- 56:03Speaker 2: I think might bring some more style to the Doctor.
- 56:07Speaker 2: Like I get that Drew was saying that Superkins already
- 56:10Speaker 2: dresses like the doctor. I'm saying the doctor should dress
- 56:13Speaker 2: like Sophie Duker. She's absolutely hilarious, she's phenomenal. I think
- 56:20Speaker 2: in a dramatic turn she could also do very well.
- 56:22Speaker 2: Comedians typically can mm hm. So I think she could
- 56:26Speaker 2: act the hell out of the part. And like like
- 56:30Speaker 2: Audre said, if we get a good enough writer, then
- 56:34Speaker 2: she won't be screwed over by the unfortunateness that happened
- 56:37Speaker 2: to Jody Whittaker.
- 56:37Speaker 4: And I think she could do an absolutely stellar job.
- 56:40Speaker 1: That's your time, and that is a fantastic pitch. What
- 56:43Speaker 1: you're talking about about those two points. That's a that's
- 56:46Speaker 1: some left field excellence, right that?
- 56:48Speaker 3: All right, you guys ready for last and least, but
- 56:53Speaker 3: maybe least we don't know.
- 56:55Speaker 1: It's Matt Smith with his pitch for who should play
- 56:58Speaker 1: the next doctor? Are you ready?
- 56:59Speaker 4: Mat? Yep?
- 57:00Speaker 1: Your time stots now.
- 57:02Speaker 3: I love that all of you guys are going for representation,
- 57:05Speaker 3: and I wish I was too, But I'm not going
- 57:08Speaker 3: for a British British actor's name that I thought of
- 57:11Speaker 3: that I could think of while I was sitting here
- 57:12Speaker 3: totally freaking out in my head about Booja I should pick,
- 57:15Speaker 3: and the person that I picked is Noel Felding. I
- 57:18Speaker 3: think that Noel Felding would be a really interesting kind
- 57:21Speaker 3: of hilarious doctor.
- 57:22Speaker 4: I would.
- 57:23Speaker 3: I feel like he would maybe have like a Matt
- 57:24Speaker 3: Smith kind of style, except for way way more clown clowning.
- 57:30Speaker 3: In general, I think, I mean, he's definitely a beloved
- 57:35Speaker 3: I mean, I don't know. You tell me how much
- 57:36Speaker 3: he's beloved. Kay seems pretty beloved to me. He's freaking
- 57:39Speaker 3: old Greg. He's been around for a long time. Anyway,
- 57:42Speaker 3: it would be hilarious to see him as the doctor
- 57:43Speaker 3: because he's a complete lunatic. And I would just love
- 57:46Speaker 3: to see him in that setting because I think that
- 57:49Speaker 3: he would take it exactly as seriously as it ought
- 57:52Speaker 3: to be taken.
- 57:54Speaker 4: And yeah, I'm old.
- 57:56Speaker 1: Greg finishing and I'm always tartists. That's a great shout. Like,
- 58:06Speaker 1: I think a lot of people will say he's quite doctor.
- 58:08Speaker 1: Who co did. I do think it's interesting how we
- 58:11Speaker 1: now have two bakeoff presenters.
- 58:14Speaker 3: To bakeoff three task masters Perkins, And I'm gonna be honest,
- 58:19Speaker 3: I didn't know who any of those were until you were,
- 58:22Speaker 3: like Sup Perkins was on Great British Baking Show. I
- 58:24Speaker 3: was like, oh that, okay, I remember Sue, and those
- 58:27Speaker 3: other two actresses sound great. I can't picture them in
- 58:29Speaker 3: my in my poor little good mel Gedrous would be unbelievable.
- 58:35Speaker 3: I don't know who that is either the other half
- 58:37Speaker 3: she'd be great. I think pretty much anyone who's been
- 58:40Speaker 3: on Task Master to a decent doctor.
- 58:41Speaker 2: Almost honestly, my first pick was Susie Ruffle before I
- 58:44Speaker 2: thought of Sophie Duker.
- 58:47Speaker 1: Oh nice, but I thought that I thought that would be.
- 58:49Speaker 2: Too close to Sue Perkins, and I didn't want to
- 58:51Speaker 2: kind of too many, too many sus Yeah, my kids, suit.
- 58:56Speaker 1: I'm making my decisions because this is uh, this is
- 58:58Speaker 1: quite tough. These some really good pitches.
- 59:00Speaker 6: I do like Nol as a pick because I just imagine,
- 59:02Speaker 6: you know, every doctor has like a very specific way
- 59:05Speaker 6: that they push all the buttons in the tartish, and
- 59:07Speaker 6: I feel like Nole's would be a very interesting way.
- 59:10Speaker 6: He would use his nose, Yeah, just like he'd like
- 59:13Speaker 6: look at it for a while and then just like
- 59:15Speaker 6: push one with his nose and then everything would move.
- 59:19Speaker 6: Be fun, a fun experience. I think for me.
- 59:24Speaker 3: He'd be like Bakers, start your tartists, Tom Bakers, lovely stuff,
- 59:33Speaker 3: team work.
- 59:33Speaker 4: Because can do the exact same thing.
- 59:38Speaker 3: Let's have two doctors at once. That's one thing we
- 59:40Speaker 3: haven't seen it actually. Oh okay, yeah, we've seen two
- 59:47Speaker 3: doctors at once, but we haven't seen him regenerate into
- 59:49Speaker 3: two doctors.
- 59:51Speaker 1: Well, actually, oh, it's all happened. It's a sixty year
- 59:56Speaker 1: old show. Guys, really not sure how much of that
- 59:59Speaker 1: would you said it?
- 1:00:00Speaker 4: Uper? Did you actually not know? That's the thing. I
- 1:00:02Speaker 4: didn't actually know that. Yeah, by generations now a thing.
- 1:00:06Speaker 1: Okay, I've made some decisions on the scores here if
- 1:00:09Speaker 1: I mean, we don't have to care about the scores
- 1:00:11Speaker 1: other points, it's if if we don't want to hear them.
- 1:00:15Speaker 4: I want to hear them. I like that point. We're
- 1:00:16Speaker 4: doing pretty okay.
- 1:00:17Speaker 1: Well, it's good that you're you're looking forward to hearing them, Drew,
- 1:00:20Speaker 1: Because I'm putting sup Perkins at two points.
- 1:00:22Speaker 4: I figured I wouldn't disagree.
- 1:00:24Speaker 1: Honestly, I was between that and the next one, and
- 1:00:27Speaker 1: it was just that we saw sup Perkins at the
- 1:00:29Speaker 1: Edinburgh Fringe last year and she was really bad and
- 1:00:31Speaker 1: so it's just like I was like, I saw lots
- 1:00:33Speaker 1: of funny comedians and it was like you charged the
- 1:00:36Speaker 1: most for your ticket and you weren't good. So so
- 1:00:40Speaker 1: that sucks. But sorry, so you've got loads of money,
- 1:00:43Speaker 1: it's fine. And for the same reason, Noel already has
- 1:00:45Speaker 1: that bake off money. So I'm putting Noel at three points.
- 1:00:49Speaker 1: They don't they don't need it.
- 1:00:50Speaker 4: Come on.
- 1:00:51Speaker 1: I'm putting Sophie Duker at four points because I think
- 1:00:53Speaker 1: that's the inspired casting and who I'm like, yes, this
- 1:00:55Speaker 1: is the future. Let's get more of the comedians in
- 1:00:58Speaker 1: their thirties casting things. It shouldn't just be James a
- 1:01:01Speaker 1: caster and Ghostbusters. So much of them have talent.
- 1:01:04Speaker 3: Uh.
- 1:01:05Speaker 1: And then I'm putting Olivia Coleman at five points because
- 1:01:07Speaker 1: that's the franchise winner. That's what would propel Doctor Who
- 1:01:10Speaker 1: back into the mainstream.
- 1:01:11Speaker 4: I think.
- 1:01:12Speaker 1: Yeah.
- 1:01:12Speaker 5: Honestly, Audre, when you were pitching that, you were like
- 1:01:14Speaker 5: ramping up. I was like, she was gonna say, MARYL.
- 1:01:16Speaker 5: Streep to be.
- 1:01:19Speaker 3: Somebody British, right, is Olivia?
- 1:01:22Speaker 4: Yes, okay, thank you. I want Amy Adam to be
- 1:01:26Speaker 4: your companion.
- 1:01:27Speaker 7: Yes.
- 1:01:29Speaker 4: James Acaster as a companion of Stellar.
- 1:01:32Speaker 1: Yeah, it'd be a good companion.
- 1:01:35Speaker 5: Oh god, the entire show is so rife for Doctor
- 1:01:37Speaker 5: who casts.
- 1:01:39Speaker 1: British and Whimsy, you know what? Honestly, yeah, Saltman the Doctor.
- 1:01:45Speaker 1: My god, now that old school doctor who cast, get
- 1:01:50Speaker 1: that man of Scarf. Okay, So now we're gonna play
- 1:01:54Speaker 1: a slightly different version of pitch it, where we add
- 1:01:56Speaker 1: a bit of chaos to the to the game. I'm
- 1:01:59Speaker 1: gonna here one pitch per team this time, but every
- 1:02:02Speaker 1: thirty seconds I will shout switch and they will have
- 1:02:07Speaker 1: to switch who is pitching, and to see if they
- 1:02:09Speaker 1: can make some kind of cohesive story by the end.
- 1:02:11Speaker 1: Because I'm looking for a pitch for Doctor whose story arcs,
- 1:02:19Speaker 1: I'm just gonna get a clean read of a copy.
- 1:02:22Speaker 4: I was doing my best not to start interrupt. Do
- 1:02:25Speaker 4: you know what?
- 1:02:25Speaker 1: We're gonna start with the snake dancers because they've got
- 1:02:28Speaker 1: so much energy going on. They're going to pitch a
- 1:02:32Speaker 1: story arc for Doctor Who. Don't forget to throw in
- 1:02:35Speaker 1: a twist, because there's always a twist in these things.
- 1:02:37Speaker 1: Who would like to start?
- 1:02:38Speaker 6: You've got you?
- 1:02:40Speaker 3: Yeah, I'll start, all right. I've got nonsense coming out
- 1:02:43Speaker 3: of my wazoo.
- 1:02:44Speaker 1: Matt's gonna start your two minutes begin. What am I
- 1:02:48Speaker 1: pitching a story?
- 1:02:50Speaker 4: Yes?
- 1:02:53Speaker 1: Yeah, like a serial, a serial arc. Okay, I'm so
- 1:02:57Speaker 1: glad you're starting your time me too.
- 1:03:00Speaker 3: Now all right, So, like these cybermen discover some old Dolleks,
- 1:03:07Speaker 3: some old Dollek technology, and the cybermen combine with the
- 1:03:13Speaker 3: Doaleks into cyber dollics and they run around saying, well,
- 1:03:19Speaker 3: what do the cybermen say. The cybermen say, God, damn it,
- 1:03:23Speaker 3: they say something repeatedly. They compared the things that they
- 1:03:25Speaker 3: say repeatedly with the exterminate and from there they switch.
- 1:03:31Speaker 6: The cybermen Dollek hybrids come through time portals into various
- 1:03:37Speaker 6: pockets of the universe. It's a very stressful situation because
- 1:03:41Speaker 6: these two like strong forces, have historically been fought slightly
- 1:03:47Speaker 6: different ways, and so there's parts of them that kind
- 1:03:50Speaker 6: of enhance each other's danger in this element, causing the
- 1:03:55Speaker 6: doctor and his companion to think, gosh, we're really going
- 1:03:58Speaker 6: to need to rethink switch.
- 1:04:00Speaker 3: Yeah, And then so they have to team up with
- 1:04:02Speaker 3: those Potato warrior guys and the Rhino guys that's say
- 1:04:07Speaker 3: raw Ra Ri Ro ro Ra ri Ra all the time.
- 1:04:10Speaker 3: And then they also have to join up with the
- 1:04:12Speaker 3: with the those weird creatures with the big pot bellies
- 1:04:16Speaker 3: and pointy fingers that I think had the really long
- 1:04:19Speaker 3: name that we talked about one of those games, but
- 1:04:20Speaker 3: then they call them that short name, and then they're
- 1:04:22Speaker 3: like a weird family. That's all these evil things just
- 1:04:25Speaker 3: to beat the cyber Doalics down, because the cyber dogs
- 1:04:29Speaker 3: run around being like switch and.
- 1:04:31Speaker 6: They unify with these villainous forces in order to defeat
- 1:04:35Speaker 6: the cyber Dollics. And through the course of this they
- 1:04:38Speaker 6: find out that it was them who created the cyber
- 1:04:41Speaker 6: Dollics to begin with. Doing their tiny whiny shit, they
- 1:04:45Speaker 6: went back and left a Dollek or two, maybe two,
- 1:04:49Speaker 6: we don't know. We haven't cast yet. They might have
- 1:04:53Speaker 6: left a couple of Dolleks in the cyber uh the
- 1:04:57Speaker 6: Cyberman land.
- 1:04:59Speaker 1: That's your tie finishing with a Cyberman.
- 1:05:01Speaker 6: Yeah, I'm.
- 1:05:07Speaker 4: You might be entitled to our money.
- 1:05:10Speaker 3: Interesting before my head explodes, what does the Cyberman repeatedly say?
- 1:05:14Speaker 4: Delete?
- 1:05:17Speaker 1: But very good? That was a chaotic pitch. I loved it.
- 1:05:19Speaker 1: I love the back and forth. I think Audra saved it.
- 1:05:22Speaker 1: With a couple of twists there, but I think the
- 1:05:24Speaker 1: initial spark of Cyberdalic pretty good.
- 1:05:26Speaker 4: Pretty good, I agree, I like, weirdly think they've not
- 1:05:29Speaker 4: done to my knowledge yet.
- 1:05:30Speaker 2: Yeah.
- 1:05:30Speaker 4: Yeah, yeah, they think that they would have done that.
- 1:05:32Speaker 1: Yeah, they've had them interact a little bit, but never
- 1:05:34Speaker 1: can combine into one being.
- 1:05:36Speaker 3: Yeah, imagine a Cyberman with a plunge your arm and
- 1:05:39Speaker 3: a wire whisk arm that he uses only for poop.
- 1:05:43Speaker 1: Anything could happen with a Cyberman poop whisk Yeah. Okay,
- 1:05:47Speaker 1: we've heard one story arc. But before I can judge
- 1:05:50Speaker 1: and give a maximum of five points, we will head
- 1:05:53Speaker 1: on over to dentist why to hear their back and
- 1:05:56Speaker 1: forth pitch. Are you guys ready? Do you know who's starting?
- 1:06:00Speaker 8: Way?
- 1:06:00Speaker 4: I've got I got a weird I got a weird
- 1:06:02Speaker 4: one for you, all right along with it?
- 1:06:03Speaker 1: Yeah? Time starts now.
- 1:06:06Speaker 5: We focus on a character who has not been seen
- 1:06:08Speaker 5: in the Doctor Who universe outside of the comics since
- 1:06:11Speaker 5: sometime in the early eighties. This is an enemy of
- 1:06:13Speaker 5: the Doctor named Death's Head, that is Death with as
- 1:06:16Speaker 5: Death's Head. He has a cononical character. He exists in
- 1:06:18Speaker 5: Doctor Who, and he re encounters the Doctor for the
- 1:06:21Speaker 5: first time in thousands of years from his point of view,
- 1:06:24Speaker 5: and like always, the Doctor goes, there's no way to
- 1:06:26Speaker 5: defeat you. I gotta do the same thing I did
- 1:06:28Speaker 5: to you the last time I encountered you and take
- 1:06:29Speaker 5: you somewhere else, and takes him to the same place
- 1:06:32Speaker 5: the Baxter Building from fucking Marvel's Fantastic Four. This is
- 1:06:35Speaker 5: canonically a thing that has happened in the Doctor. He
- 1:06:37Speaker 5: takes him there, and death says like, I'm not here
- 1:06:39Speaker 5: to kill you. I'm here to warn you.
- 1:06:41Speaker 2: There are spacetime glory holes peering everywhere in the universe
- 1:06:46Speaker 2: and I can't do anything about it. You're the only
- 1:06:48Speaker 2: woman with enough power to do something, so please help.
- 1:06:51Speaker 2: The Doctor goes, Okay, well, I'm gonna have to get
- 1:06:54Speaker 2: some sort of army together to stop the space time
- 1:06:57Speaker 2: gloryholes be created. Even though I don't know what's doing it,
- 1:07:00Speaker 2: it must be some kind of spacetime fallus switch.
- 1:07:06Speaker 5: So with deathhead and again playing off the fact that
- 1:07:08Speaker 5: we have a bunch of canonical comic bullshit allows me
- 1:07:11Speaker 5: to make these connections, we find an army of robots
- 1:07:14Speaker 5: who travel space and time that could help him, and
- 1:07:16Speaker 5: that is the Transformers, because again this is all connected
- 1:07:19Speaker 5: in the comics actually and legally thanks to the scot
- 1:07:21Speaker 5: character gets Heead. So now with the Transformers by their side,
- 1:07:25Speaker 5: they go back to the main Doctor Who universe to
- 1:07:27Speaker 5: fight the giant dollic that is phallically shaped, that is
- 1:07:31Speaker 5: creating these space glory holes in the first place.
- 1:07:34Speaker 2: So the giant army of Transformers, Marvel characters and whoever
- 1:07:37Speaker 2: the fuck else get together in one place and they
- 1:07:40Speaker 2: successfully fight and destroy the Uber Dollic, the Uber Times
- 1:07:45Speaker 2: Spacetime Dollic, whatever the hell you want to call it,
- 1:07:48Speaker 2: and it's somehow the explosion of the Uber dollc manages
- 1:07:53Speaker 2: to patch all the holes in the Spacetime universe, and
- 1:07:55Speaker 2: everybody goes back to where they were, and the Doctor
- 1:07:58Speaker 2: and Deathhead are back in the Baxter building and they go,
- 1:08:00Speaker 2: you want.
- 1:08:01Speaker 4: To go for a cup of tea?
- 1:08:05Speaker 1: And that's a fantastic stake.
- 1:08:07Speaker 4: You guys, just get the shit out of us.
- 1:08:08Speaker 3: You made a Polics, you made a Pholics And what
- 1:08:12Speaker 3: did the Pholics.
- 1:08:13Speaker 6: Sayra and salmon?
- 1:08:17Speaker 1: Right, well, a brilliant pig. Oh my goodness, bring it. Okay,
- 1:08:23Speaker 1: I need to address a couple of things drew genuinely
- 1:08:26Speaker 1: that stuff in the comics is real.
- 1:08:28Speaker 5: And it is so Death's Head very brief version is
- 1:08:30Speaker 5: a character in the Transformers comic. For some reason, he
- 1:08:33Speaker 5: has then written into a Doctor Who comic with no reasoning,
- 1:08:36Speaker 5: and then at the end of that comic he has
- 1:08:38Speaker 5: brought down to regular person size because before that he
- 1:08:40Speaker 5: was Transformer sized, and then the Doctor leaves him on
- 1:08:43Speaker 5: top of the BackStar building. He then appears in Marvel comics,
- 1:08:45Speaker 5: back in Doctor Who comics, and back in Transformers comics
- 1:08:48Speaker 5: since then. Wow, the seventies and sixties and eighties were
- 1:08:50Speaker 5: a terrible time for copyright. It turns out it allows
- 1:08:53Speaker 5: for those things to legally cross over and no one
- 1:08:56Speaker 5: can argue it's not canonical.
- 1:08:58Speaker 1: Yep, and that's gonna go high because it's accurate and
- 1:09:00Speaker 1: canonical and Aaron bringing in the space the glory holes
- 1:09:04Speaker 1: back and Genius the Doctor can't believe it. They saved
- 1:09:08Speaker 1: the sexy stuff for Torch. Would I think Doctor Who
- 1:09:10Speaker 1: should have been sexier as well.
- 1:09:13Speaker 2: I'm still mad Matt came up with it and I
- 1:09:17Speaker 2: didn't think of felx.
- 1:09:22Speaker 4: I was just like, dolls, look it works. I was like,
- 1:09:27Speaker 4: what would they do.
- 1:09:28Speaker 3: They would just take daleks and siremen and Ree's package
- 1:09:32Speaker 3: them again.
- 1:09:33Speaker 1: Yours was like an excited nine year.
- 1:09:36Speaker 3: Old Mine was like, this might actually have been pitched.
- 1:09:39Speaker 3: This was probably pitched at some point.
- 1:09:41Speaker 1: I guarantee the glory Holes one, which is why they
- 1:09:44Speaker 1: were so brilliant. That's why in the world of pitch
- 1:09:47Speaker 1: it it goes high. I'm going to give five out
- 1:09:49Speaker 1: of five points to dentist why And I'm going to
- 1:09:51Speaker 1: give three out of five points to the russell T Babies.
- 1:09:53Speaker 4: Thank you. In semin eight, I am so sorry. I
- 1:09:57Speaker 4: am so sorry.
- 1:10:01Speaker 6: No, it's so good. We both got so excited. Matt
- 1:10:05Speaker 6: and I got so excited about yeah, from your pitch
- 1:10:09Speaker 6: and then had different dick jukes.
- 1:10:13Speaker 4: Yeah. I had to write it down. I had to
- 1:10:15Speaker 4: write it down, and I looked at what she was
- 1:10:17Speaker 4: writing down.
- 1:10:18Speaker 3: She was writing down something. At the same time, I
- 1:10:19Speaker 3: was like, oh, she's writing down the same thing. No,
- 1:10:21Speaker 3: she's written down In se eight, it's.
- 1:10:25Speaker 6: A beautiful partnership.
- 1:10:26Speaker 4: I will admit.
- 1:10:27Speaker 5: I also have a short list next to me that
- 1:10:29Speaker 5: was like one of the the only ones like I
- 1:10:30Speaker 5: had like written down like actually but like was like
- 1:10:32Speaker 5: things that end in innate that I could then do
- 1:10:34Speaker 5: the dollar voice four and in sevenutes.
- 1:10:36Speaker 4: What are the only ones that came to mind?
- 1:10:38Speaker 1: All right, that is the end of the round. Let's
- 1:10:42Speaker 1: ask the current companion to calculate the latest scores. Oh,
- 1:10:45Speaker 1: she's busy doing her own calculations on whether or not
- 1:10:48Speaker 1: she passes the Bechdel test. Round three. Oh wait, no,
- 1:10:52Speaker 1: got do the scores first. Just reading the next thing
- 1:10:55Speaker 1: on the page. Those scores are dentist. Why are on
- 1:10:59Speaker 1: twenty points? Russell t babies are on fifteen points.
- 1:11:04Speaker 6: I still like it.
- 1:11:05Speaker 4: Hey, we're getting closer.
- 1:11:09Speaker 1: It's exact same. Okay, Round three, next babies. After these
- 1:11:15Speaker 1: ads for pinstripe suits and converse Alonzi. Round three is
- 1:11:27Speaker 1: called rough and Tumbler. It's the game where we activate
- 1:11:31Speaker 1: our tardis and travel back in time to twenty thirteen.
- 1:11:34Speaker 1: I will read our players a genuine text post about
- 1:11:38Speaker 1: one of the doctors from tumblr dot com. Each of
- 1:11:41Speaker 1: our players will write down a guess as to who
- 1:11:43Speaker 1: they think it is. You can say the number or
- 1:11:46Speaker 1: the name of the actor. I will accept either points
- 1:11:50Speaker 1: for each team that offers at least one correct answer,
- 1:11:53Speaker 1: so you could split your answers and go with different options.
- 1:11:56Speaker 1: I suppose that's easier for Matt and Order to do
- 1:11:58Speaker 1: so maybe I'm gonna say you're not allowed to confer. Okay,
- 1:12:01Speaker 1: because Drew and Aaron can't confer, so it's okay if
- 1:12:06Speaker 1: you put different answers would never know, but the viewers would.
- 1:12:10Speaker 1: This question is for everyone. So here is your first
- 1:12:13Speaker 1: genuine text post from tumblr dot com. Why is he
- 1:12:16Speaker 1: so cute? The bow tie, the chronic lateness, his little smirk,
- 1:12:20Speaker 1: the banter with the tardis run. I am a madman
- 1:12:22Speaker 1: with a box. He's so overtly confident and even arrogant
- 1:12:26Speaker 1: in his ability and reputation. He's killing me here.
- 1:12:29Speaker 5: I'm obsessed, madam, A little upset you found my account
- 1:12:32Speaker 5: didn't tell me.
- 1:12:34Speaker 1: It is my fear that one day I will use
- 1:12:36Speaker 1: a contestant's Tumblr account.
- 1:12:39Speaker 4: They ever actually had a tumbl account. Funny enough, fair enough.
- 1:12:42Speaker 1: I might end up using my own without realizing it's
- 1:12:44Speaker 1: my own.
- 1:12:46Speaker 4: Okay.
- 1:12:46Speaker 1: If we all got answers for this one, yes, all right,
- 1:12:49Speaker 1: I think we can safely reveal all these at the
- 1:12:52Speaker 1: same time. I think I've.
- 1:12:53Speaker 4: Made room to write more answers.
- 1:12:55Speaker 1: Yeah, look that for Mat Smith yes, come on, that
- 1:12:59Speaker 1: was a that was very Matt Smith.
- 1:13:01Speaker 4: There's so many Matt Smiths. Which one do I shoot again?
- 1:13:05Speaker 2: Me?
- 1:13:11Speaker 1: Fantastic? Okay, we'll just volunteers solve the entire third act problem.
- 1:13:18Speaker 1: Oh shoot me? Yeah, that was obviously Matt Smith, right like?
- 1:13:22Speaker 4: So that was so.
- 1:13:25Speaker 6: Tie absolute cutie.
- 1:13:27Speaker 4: Yep, it was the absolute cutie. They got me. It
- 1:13:30Speaker 4: was super mad Smith coded.
- 1:13:32Speaker 1: All right, let's crank up the difficulty just a little
- 1:13:35Speaker 1: bit here. Next, let's go tumble text post. He didn't
- 1:13:39Speaker 1: even get a Dalek's episode. I don't even like the
- 1:13:42Speaker 1: Daleks as an enemy, and even I know he should
- 1:13:44Speaker 1: have got that.
- 1:13:47Speaker 4: He definitely did.
- 1:13:49Speaker 1: Mmmm.
- 1:13:49Speaker 2: See.
- 1:13:50Speaker 6: The thing is, I don't remember that as a fact.
- 1:13:55Speaker 6: So I'm just gonna put the one that I think
- 1:13:57Speaker 6: is underrated.
- 1:13:58Speaker 3: I'm gonna put one that I, oh didn't have a
- 1:14:00Speaker 3: Dalic episode. Oh okay, I did.
- 1:14:05Speaker 1: So you're going with the clever strategy of write down
- 1:14:08Speaker 1: the correct answer.
- 1:14:09Speaker 4: I don't think I did that, Matt.
- 1:14:11Speaker 1: Okay, all right, I think this one won't be as confidence.
- 1:14:14Speaker 1: We're going to reveal them one by one, Drew, what
- 1:14:16Speaker 1: have you got for this one?
- 1:14:17Speaker 5: I'm assuming I spelt tutyhat was named properly with the
- 1:14:20Speaker 5: silent end.
- 1:14:20Speaker 4: I believe.
- 1:14:21Speaker 1: So that's how I've got it written in my documents.
- 1:14:23Speaker 1: Shoot yet well, which gives away the correct answer. So everyone,
- 1:14:26Speaker 1: what else have you got?
- 1:14:27Speaker 4: Aaron? What have you put for this one? I had
- 1:14:29Speaker 4: no idea I was.
- 1:14:30Speaker 1: Going with Paul Mcgannit, it may have been true if
- 1:14:34Speaker 1: the Daleks weren't in that film that he was in.
- 1:14:36Speaker 1: Matt what have you got?
- 1:14:38Speaker 4: I have William Hurt?
- 1:14:42Speaker 6: He sure did what thes.
- 1:14:45Speaker 4: In that episode?
- 1:14:46Speaker 5: I mean the the only episode he's in that is
- 1:14:48Speaker 5: a really long episode where they fight the Daleks.
- 1:14:50Speaker 4: I think the Urbans ares on that one.
- 1:14:53Speaker 1: And it isn't it John Hurt?
- 1:14:55Speaker 4: Yeah, it's John Hurt, not William Hurt.
- 1:14:57Speaker 6: Yeah.
- 1:14:57Speaker 4: William Hurt's a completely other guy. Well, well, I'm Hurt
- 1:15:03Speaker 4: and Dodre.
- 1:15:04Speaker 6: I just went for Eccleston because I couldn't remember, but
- 1:15:07Speaker 6: it absolutely is Shooty because I.
- 1:15:09Speaker 4: Just finale episode was a Daric episode.
- 1:15:12Speaker 1: I thought, Actually, yeah, three out of his thirteen episodes
- 1:15:15Speaker 1: were dar God.
- 1:15:16Speaker 5: Damn because he has the one with Rose where like
- 1:15:18Speaker 5: she reawakens them for the first time in like thousands
- 1:15:21Speaker 5: of years because of her handprint for a reason.
- 1:15:23Speaker 1: Bad Wolf, bad bad Yeah, ye yeah, bad Wolf got
- 1:15:27Speaker 1: to say that a lot of times, saw print.
- 1:15:30Speaker 3: I gotta say it a bunch of times throughout the
- 1:15:31Speaker 3: whole series, so you can be like, holy shit, they
- 1:15:33Speaker 3: said that.
- 1:15:34Speaker 4: In the other episodes.
- 1:15:35Speaker 1: Absolutely, Okay, so we've got point there for dentist y
- 1:15:38Speaker 1: because Drew correctly said shooty gatwork, so they go, I
- 1:15:42Speaker 1: mean I didn't get a Dalek's episode day.
- 1:15:45Speaker 4: Yeah, A little bit of a bummer. It would have
- 1:15:47Speaker 4: been good with that one.
- 1:15:48Speaker 1: Okay, next tumbler text post as great as it is,
- 1:15:51Speaker 1: and I do kind of want one on what planets?
- 1:15:53Speaker 1: Is that a sensible thing to wear when you do
- 1:15:55Speaker 1: a lot of running for your life or crawling into
- 1:15:58Speaker 1: the guts of spaceships.
- 1:16:00Speaker 4: There's a few for this of work I have. Oh no,
- 1:16:02Speaker 4: never mind, I made a.
- 1:16:04Speaker 6: Decision and I'm I'm sticking with my initial.
- 1:16:08Speaker 3: I'm pretty sure I'm.
- 1:16:10Speaker 4: Not happy with it.
- 1:16:11Speaker 1: But okay, uh Odro, what have you put for this one?
- 1:16:14Speaker 6: I said tom Baker?
- 1:16:16Speaker 1: You got Tom Baker on the bullet then Matt, what
- 1:16:18Speaker 1: have you got?
- 1:16:18Speaker 4: I'm still trying to remember how to spell Whittaker.
- 1:16:23Speaker 1: But but I get but I believe that you put
- 1:16:24Speaker 1: Jodey Wher, you put Jody Jody Whitaker. There's only one Jody,
- 1:16:28Speaker 1: right and Aaron there's at least two Matt Smith's. That's true,
- 1:16:32Speaker 1: at least five Whitaker. I don't know if that's the
- 1:16:35Speaker 1: right spelling or not. And I think that is the
- 1:16:37Speaker 1: right spelling. And Drew, what have you put? I'm with
- 1:16:40Speaker 1: Aldre with Baker, and Drew has put Baker's one member
- 1:16:43Speaker 1: of each team. Putting Wicker one member of each team.
- 1:16:45Speaker 1: Putting Baker one half of each team is correct. It's
- 1:16:49Speaker 1: Tom Baker so disappoint to each team.
- 1:16:51Speaker 4: That crazy scarf I almost put that.
- 1:16:56Speaker 5: I was thinking, like Tenant's coat, maybe because it'd be
- 1:16:58Speaker 5: hard to crawl in, like that's a really long piece.
- 1:17:00Speaker 2: Of Also, I was thinking Tumblr, if they're talking about
- 1:17:02Speaker 2: Shooty Gotwa, they're probably talking about newer doctors, the ones
- 1:17:05Speaker 2: I don't know as well.
- 1:17:07Speaker 3: I thought maybe Jodie Whittaker's suspenders would come.
- 1:17:11Speaker 4: It crossed my mind. Yeah, I thought I thought she
- 1:17:13Speaker 4: had some sort of loose.
- 1:17:15Speaker 6: Thing that I considered Matt Smith because of the fez
- 1:17:21Speaker 6: and I'm like, Matt wouldn't make him the right.
- 1:17:24Speaker 1: Answer couldn't have a sixth Max Smith. No, I mean yeah,
- 1:17:29Speaker 1: incapitating people again again? Okay, next Tumblr dot com quote
- 1:17:35Speaker 1: genuine text post guys. Incredible, but guys, I am speechless
- 1:17:40Speaker 1: about them. I am consuming content. But if you actually
- 1:17:44Speaker 1: asked me about them, I'm just gonna go them.
- 1:17:46Speaker 4: This.
- 1:17:47Speaker 1: Yes, skissopic flanks.
- 1:17:50Speaker 5: Okay, good, good thing. There were hints in out of
- 1:17:53Speaker 5: any way shape and form.
- 1:17:56Speaker 3: So the answer is a doctor, one of the doctors. Okay,
- 1:18:01Speaker 3: I'm going bold. Okay, I'm going so.
- 1:18:05Speaker 6: Bold with this, but I stand by it because this,
- 1:18:09Speaker 6: this is the doctor that makes.
- 1:18:10Speaker 1: Me feel that way. This is your classic tumble at
- 1:18:12Speaker 1: text post.
- 1:18:12Speaker 6: Mm hmm. I'm going to try to tap into that
- 1:18:16Speaker 6: energy of when I was writing this type of bullshit
- 1:18:20Speaker 6: on tumblr dot com.
- 1:18:22Speaker 1: All right, Aaron, what if you go for this? David
- 1:18:25Speaker 1: Tennant and Rose Tyler. I love it. I like how
- 1:18:29Speaker 1: it's actor and character.
- 1:18:33Speaker 4: I almost I almost put.
- 1:18:35Speaker 2: Billy Piper, and then I thought, no, it should be
- 1:18:37Speaker 2: the name of the act the character.
- 1:18:38Speaker 4: I love it. Drew I also won with Tenant.
- 1:18:41Speaker 1: Also with Tennant.
- 1:18:42Speaker 5: I just figure if someone's gonna get thirsty on Tumblr,
- 1:18:44Speaker 5: it's the most likely one.
- 1:18:45Speaker 1: Matt Ira and Matt's put tenant and Odra, what have
- 1:18:50Speaker 1: you put?
- 1:18:51Speaker 6: I put the most important woman in the universe, Donna, numble,
- 1:18:56Speaker 6: doctor Donna. That's who I.
- 1:18:57Speaker 1: Put rightfully, So yeah, technically a doctus or good And
- 1:19:02Speaker 1: your teammate put tenant, which is the correct answer. It's
- 1:19:04Speaker 1: David Tennant, so tea.
- 1:19:07Speaker 3: So glad we both got We get two points.
- 1:19:12Speaker 1: You don't. I'm afraid just I'm handing out one point
- 1:19:14Speaker 1: for each team having a correct answer.
- 1:19:16Speaker 4: Oh that makes sense, and they're honestly fair.
- 1:19:19Speaker 1: Yeah, we can't have you guys steamrolling any more than
- 1:19:22Speaker 1: you are. We'll have an incre that's fair. Okay. Final
- 1:19:26Speaker 1: text post from tumblr dot com.
- 1:19:28Speaker 4: Here.
- 1:19:28Speaker 1: He won't put you into a trap of eternal torture
- 1:19:32Speaker 1: or hack your text so it explodes on your face.
- 1:19:35Speaker 1: His approach is a lot more vanilla. He will use
- 1:19:38Speaker 1: objects like rocks to bash your head with. He will
- 1:19:42Speaker 1: use his staff as a weapon, or just straight appeuse
- 1:19:45Speaker 1: his bare fists to beat the ship out of you.
- 1:19:49Speaker 1: Which doctor? Who is that about?
- 1:19:52Speaker 4: The one with a staff apparently? Okay, I don't know
- 1:19:56Speaker 4: the name, so I'm just gonna do numbers.
- 1:19:58Speaker 1: You do numbers?
- 1:19:59Speaker 4: You do number.
- 1:20:00Speaker 1: Yep, you just.
- 1:20:01Speaker 4: Number the doctor.
- 1:20:02Speaker 1: I could just guess a random number between one and fifteen.
- 1:20:05Speaker 4: Yeah.
- 1:20:06Speaker 6: Remember when it was only supposed to be twelve. Yes,
- 1:20:08Speaker 6: there's twelve hours.
- 1:20:10Speaker 5: And then they retconned it with Matt Smith, and then
- 1:20:12Speaker 5: they reretconded it again to be more stupid.
- 1:20:15Speaker 1: Yeah, that's how you could sum up all of Doctor
- 1:20:17Speaker 1: Who with those two sentences.
- 1:20:20Speaker 4: Remember when they read called that thing and then read
- 1:20:22Speaker 4: cond it again but worse.
- 1:20:23Speaker 6: Yep, and I still fucking loved it.
- 1:20:27Speaker 1: Yeah, all right, we all got answered for this one.
- 1:20:30Speaker 4: Yes, I have a wrong one. What have you put?
- 1:20:35Speaker 1: I put the first doctor number one?
- 1:20:38Speaker 6: I think he had a cane.
- 1:20:40Speaker 1: And Matt I put Capoli.
- 1:20:42Speaker 4: It just sounded the alley.
- 1:20:46Speaker 5: Really, the energy drew. I won with Eccleston. I just
- 1:20:51Speaker 5: feel like if anyone was gonna beat me up, it
- 1:20:52Speaker 5: was him.
- 1:20:53Speaker 1: Yep, that's that's true. He had a vicious streake.
- 1:20:56Speaker 4: I wanted to beat you up.
- 1:20:57Speaker 2: And I went for Mets a peculiar peculiarity for making
- 1:21:03Speaker 2: a slight twist at the end.
- 1:21:04Speaker 5: So I went with the war doctor. Oh that is clever.
- 1:21:08Speaker 5: That was my other choice. That was like my other option.
- 1:21:10Speaker 2: I thought he might do a twist in the end,
- 1:21:12Speaker 2: and I'm like, I don't know the war doctor all
- 1:21:15Speaker 2: that well, but it sounds like.
- 1:21:17Speaker 4: He's a rough and tumble kind of Yeah, what I
- 1:21:19Speaker 4: should have guessed instead of William Hurt.
- 1:21:22Speaker 1: Yeah, that's what you're trying to say. Well, one of
- 1:21:26Speaker 1: you has the correct answer, and we've got four different answers.
- 1:21:29Speaker 1: That's very fun.
- 1:21:30Speaker 6: Oh, that's fun.
- 1:21:31Speaker 1: I'm glad you think so Ordre. You are correct. It
- 1:21:35Speaker 1: is the first. This is a text post about William Hartnell,
- 1:21:39Speaker 1: the Grandpa doctor.
- 1:21:40Speaker 4: Really so old.
- 1:21:42Speaker 6: I thought he had a cane and I was like,
- 1:21:45Speaker 6: that feels like the one he.
- 1:21:46Speaker 3: Feels he feels like the one he feels like the
- 1:21:52Speaker 3: will beat my ass.
- 1:21:55Speaker 1: And with that that is the end of round three.
- 1:21:57Speaker 1: Let's ask the cast of torch Wood to calculate the
- 1:22:00Speaker 1: latest scores. Or they're all busy having sex with each other.
- 1:22:03Speaker 1: I'll do it myself. I'll masturbate the scares. Those scores
- 1:22:13Speaker 1: are dentist. Why are on twenty four points and the
- 1:22:16Speaker 1: russell t babies are on nineteen points.
- 1:22:19Speaker 4: We're getting closer.
- 1:22:25Speaker 1: Oh fantastic. I'm so sad that that'll be the last
- 1:22:31Speaker 1: time the joke can work because the next scores will
- 1:22:32Speaker 1: be the final ones. But before we get to the
- 1:22:35Speaker 1: quick fire around, let's talk prizes. This episode. Star Prize
- 1:22:39Speaker 1: is the concept of joy. Like all concepts, it was
- 1:22:42Speaker 1: created by people. So if we don't hold onto it,
- 1:22:44Speaker 1: we have to keep making it. No, if we want
- 1:22:46Speaker 1: to hold onto it, we have to keep making it.
- 1:22:48Speaker 1: Is what that was meant to say. The Sincere thing
- 1:22:50Speaker 1: didn't work. I tried to do it sincere doctor Who thing,
- 1:22:53Speaker 1: and I fucked.
- 1:22:54Speaker 6: It up and we still loved it.
- 1:22:57Speaker 4: Years from now, someone will take that line and the
- 1:23:00Speaker 4: fact that it's a fun up and making it even
- 1:23:01Speaker 4: more famous in the original line, and that is Doctor Who.
- 1:23:04Speaker 1: Yes, but our winning team will also receive the life
- 1:23:07Speaker 1: size David Tennant cardboard cutouts I once bought for a crush.
- 1:23:12Speaker 1: Yeah that's something I did.
- 1:23:14Speaker 4: That's way too real.
- 1:23:16Speaker 1: Yeah, that's real. It's just like the idea of hey,
- 1:23:19Speaker 1: you are here's a man I'm not.
- 1:23:23Speaker 4: See you could do that and you get away with it.
- 1:23:27Speaker 4: Are you talking to me or him?
- 1:23:28Speaker 5: You the matching yeah, yes, yes, yes, and then your
- 1:23:34Speaker 5: crush wouldn't know which one to shoot.
- 1:23:39Speaker 4: Shoehard That show killed.
- 1:23:40Speaker 3: Oh my god, I'm just gonna fill my place with
- 1:23:43Speaker 3: just I'm just in gunfights.
