- 0:27Hey everybody, good morning from the chicken coop.
- 0:30So today I want to talk to you guys about transcending current
- 0:34conditions. Now, those current conditions
- 0:37can be current conditions of the world.
- 0:39They could be current conditions in your personal world.
- 0:43They could mean multiple different things.
- 0:45But we're talking about really shifting our focus to something
- 0:51that is more expansive than what we are seeing right in front of
- 0:56us. And part of that the conditions
- 0:59that we are currently in, whether it's you know,
- 1:03political, spiritual, whether it's financial, those conditions
- 1:11are subject to how we view them. Everything always takes place
- 1:16from our point of view, and this is hard for us as human beings
- 1:21to understand because we want to always look at the outside and
- 1:24say I am this way because of this or I am this way because of
- 1:29that person or because of this that happened.
- 1:32Well, the truth really comes down to and it's a hard truth to
- 1:36take on and really own. But the truth is we are that way
- 1:40because of our point of view of it, and there's no denying it.
- 1:45Think about this. Two people go off to war and
- 1:50they both come home. One of them is forever changed
- 1:54because of the conditions that took place and what they saw.
- 1:58The other person comes back completely blessed and talking
- 2:02about how they're focused on what's next in their life, being
- 2:07grateful that they're with their family.
- 2:09The other person is completely focused on everything that they
- 2:12saw and went through. They were at the same war.
- 2:16Now we don't even have to use something that dramatic.
- 2:19Let's go to the fact that if we're at, we're at a party.
- 2:21And if you and I were at a party and I decided to go and stand
- 2:26next to the speaker at the party.
- 2:28And it was really loud and uncomfortable for me.
- 2:31And I didn't like it because it was so loud, somewhat like the
- 2:34rooster. And it was, it was just really
- 2:37uncomfortable. And you actually went across the
- 2:41room and you were standing by the table that had all the
- 2:44beautiful food and you got to talk to people.
- 2:47You in fact have a completely different experience than I do.
- 2:51You have a totally different spirits.
- 2:52We leave, we get in the car to go home together and I say, God,
- 2:55that party was so loud, I can't hear myself think at this point.
- 2:59Well, you're like, what are you talking about?
- 3:01It was such a great. Party well, this is based on our
- 3:04point of view and how we choose to take on that information and
- 3:09how we choose to see it. And again, it comes back to,
- 3:12well, it's, I am in control of that and this is how you
- 3:17transcend your current conditions.
- 3:19So whatever you're dealing with, whatever it is, how you see it
- 3:24matters and how you focus on it matters.
- 3:27One of the things that I see most consistently with clients
- 3:30when I work with them is their intent on the focus and how they
- 3:36don't want to let go of their point of view and try on a
- 3:40different one. Now.
- 3:41I'm not saying you have to give up your offense, although it is.
- 3:45Useful to give up your offense and just start from neutral.
- 3:48You can keep it, you can just keep it, and you don't have to
- 3:51try to ditch it. What you do have to do though,
- 3:54is try on different points of view so that you can transcend
- 3:57the current condition and say what else could this mean?
- 4:01How else could I see this? What else could I think about in
- 4:06order to bring myself to a different level of awareness and
- 4:10that those particular questions, that particular phrase of asking
- 4:15yourself, what else could this mean on question, Not phrase,
- 4:18but it is meant to shift you and help you to see it differently.
- 4:26Because the the more you allow yourself that thought of
- 4:29possibility, the more likely you are to be able to create a
- 4:35situation in your life that's healthier for you and bring you
- 4:39a different perspective. I always think it's for me, the
- 4:44word is magic. This is, this is magic.
- 4:46This is what real magic is. Because your entire world can
- 4:50change in a moment just by having a different perspective.
- 4:54Just by having a different perspective.
- 4:56There was an A story went around a long time ago.
- 4:59No idea if it's true or if it's not true, but it was to the
- 5:01point of exactly what I'm talking about.
- 5:03Where this gentleman was on a train in New York and he was
- 5:06looking at a another gentleman who was sitting across from him
- 5:10and the kids hit. The guys had five kids with him
- 5:13and they were running all around.
- 5:15They were being mean. They were being loud.
- 5:16They were shoving each other and the guy just sat there
- 5:18completely checked out and this gentleman who was watching it
- 5:23looked at them and was having judgment of it.
- 5:25He was saying, God, this guy can't get his kids into under
- 5:28control. He's he's totally checked out.
- 5:30He's not paying attention. He's not a great dad.
- 5:33And after riding on the train for a few minutes, the guy
- 5:37looked up and he looked across eye to eye to this man and he
- 5:40said, I know they're being really loud, I'm really sorry,
- 5:43but I think they're in a state of trauma.
- 5:45Their mom just passed away a little while ago, and I just
- 5:48don't know what to do and I don't know how to talk to them
- 5:50about it. And in that moment, the man who
- 5:54had all the judgment, all the thought, all the awful things
- 5:58shifted, and the power of that shift made all of his
- 6:04irritation, all of his frustration, everything went
- 6:07away. So the conditions of the
- 6:09children did not go away. The conditions of the children,
- 6:12they were the same. They were still acting the exact
- 6:14same way. But the difference was what this
- 6:16man thought of it. And that example is probably the
- 6:20best one that I can give you to tell you this is what you do to
- 6:22yourself, inside your own mind, your own head, your own
- 6:26feelings, your own. You know, bus if you will.
- 6:28This is what you do. And you create these absolute
- 6:32frames of mind and they don't serve you.
- 6:34So today I'm going to challenge you all to start thinking about
- 6:38that perspective and ask yourself, what else could this
- 6:41mean? What else could I make this
- 6:43mean? How else could I see this?
- 6:44What's another perspective? Because your power and your
- 6:48solutions lie right there. OK my friends, I will see you
- 6:51tomorrow. Have a great day.
