- 0:00Already let's do it. But a Bang Bang bang or
- 0:04Management in Fantasy hockey podcast?
- 0:06Woo woo, that's really good little fancy woo.
- 0:13Yeah, yeah, this is different. This is different.
- 0:16I like it changing things up OK him, Carlos Erhalte store Bangor
- 0:24management told podcast Giotto Showcase Fantasias.
- 0:28Wow. Yes, you're still listening to
- 0:31the Bangor Management Podcast. Jakey is just speaking Greek, I
- 0:35think Greek. Can you tell I've eaten a lot of
- 0:38souffle here recently? I can tell honestly, who doesn't
- 0:42love some good Suzuki? Souvlaki is awesome, Savage is
- 0:46awesome, and now I feel like I feel right at home, you know?
- 0:49If not, you're making me hungry again and I just had dinner.
- 0:53Yeah, yeah. We'll, we'll, we'll get Greek
- 0:56food next time. Yeah, we need to have like a
- 0:58little side off spinoff podcast where we just talk about food
- 1:03because I think that's like our specialty, I think.
- 1:05I think it's a good idea. It's a great idea.
- 1:07If we know anything in life, it's fantasy hockey, and if we
- 1:10know something else, it's. Food.
- 1:12I would say the opposite, but yeah.
- 1:14So food over fantasy hockey. And absolutely I use food
- 1:17everyday, but to be fair I also do fantasy hockey every day so.
- 1:22We we breathe fantasy hockey. Live and breathe, baby.
- 1:26And that's and bleed, that's what.
- 1:30It's a bit excessive. That's that's a bit extreme mom
- 1:34spaghetti, alright. Anyway, if there's any
- 1:38ambiguity, welcome into Bangor Management, the fantasy hockey
- 1:41podcast with Jake and Kevin Joshi's out today.
- 1:46Boo Josh is an Ontario living, living the party life.
- 1:49I guess he doesn't care about us anymore.
- 1:53Yeah, not cool, man, not cool. Anywho, today we're gonna be
- 1:57doing our Week 14 Buy Low Sell High Trade Targets episode.

- 2:19the podcast description where you could find all our social
- 2:22media accounts in one place. You know, I tried to do it like
- 2:24a little creative and here's what happens.
- 2:26Anyway, if you're enjoying the podcast and make sure to follow
- 2:28us on Spotify and Apple podcast. You would never miss an episode
- 2:32if you like what you hear, right?
- 2:33As five stars, we truly appreciate it.
- 2:37Let's start with Joshua's Bi Lo. I think do you want to go with
- 2:42this buy low since I'm right after with mine and I feel like
- 2:47he feel like he shopped him to you a little bit so maybe you
- 2:50have some relevant information or or opinions.
- 2:54Yes, I'll do it. OK, so his by low is a Roman
- 2:59Yosi who has been brutal since coming back from injury,
- 3:02averaging only 0.44 points over the past month.
- 3:06He should be around a point per game.
- 3:08That's what has been in historically for his career.
- 3:10His shots and blocks have been decent though. 2 point 92.9
- 3:13shots on 1.4 blocks which is decently promising.
- 3:16Players coming back from injury can take some time before they
- 3:19get back into their groove, and Yoshi has three points in the
- 3:22last three games, so the window to Bylo could be closing.
- 3:25The power play has been decent. Yoshi hasn't been showing up on
- 3:28the scoresheet because it keeps getting being like the third
- 3:31assist guy. So that would be helpful for
- 3:33plus minus, but irrelevant for other leagues because plus minus
- 3:37sucks anyway. But yeah, so this won't keep up.
- 3:41We expect them to be more on the assist than the third assist,
- 3:44which don't count for anything, of course.
- 3:46But yeah, so we expected him to turn things around and go back
- 3:50to the player he's been his whole career.
- 3:54Some good one for one trade targets.
- 3:56You got most cider, Shea, Theodore or Jacob chicken.
- 4:02Yeah, I mean, listen, I know Josh has been a frustrating
- 4:05Yoshi owner and and when Josh is frustrated, everybody knows it.
- 4:08So that's one thing everybody knows about to know about Josh.
- 4:11His wife knows that the most. I feel really bad for Eva
- 4:13because she she deals with a lot of stuff from from Josh's mental
- 4:17health that's tied to his fantasy fantasy hockey team.
- 4:21But yeah, Yoshi was probably a second round making most of your
- 4:25leagues. He's top three fantasy
- 4:28defenseman on a yearly basis. I mean, the only guys that
- 4:31you're consistently taking ahead of him are probably Makar.
- 4:34And then it's like a Quinn Hughes.
- 4:36I mean, this year Zach Werenski has been nuts, but usually it's
- 4:40right there, right? So I really love this pic by
- 4:43Josh. I mean his points could double
- 4:45realistically. I'm going for rest of season.
- 4:48The targets that Josh put I like a lot.
- 4:51I think I'd much rather give Shadow and Jacob chicken.
- 4:54I think both of those guys would be a crazy flip.
- 4:56I'd even do it in a package if you're able to get Yoshi Cider.
- 4:59I like cider a lot for his back categories, but the points
- 5:02upside with the OC is just insane.
- 5:05So I really like what Josh said here and completely agree.
- 5:10Yeah, another name I think you could honestly add there is
- 5:14maybe like a Neal Pionk. I mean, flip that piano is one
- 5:19of those guys that has a way like quote UN quote better
- 5:22production than his name value. I think with the name value is
- 5:25it would be I'd be shocked if anybody would be willing to take
- 5:28PNG for Roman Yosi. But also Yoshi has one of the
- 5:31best players schedules with Nashville.
- 5:32So you have to start looking at that as well when you're making
- 5:35these trades. If you can also give like a look
- 5:38Adam Fox for Yoshi in a package that I'd like a lot because
- 5:42you're flipping a bad Rangers playoff schedule for a better
- 5:46one with Nashville and you'll see.
- 5:47And I just like you'll see straight up better than Adam Fox
- 5:50as well. So just those were a couple of
- 5:52names to keep in mind, But I would be trying to buy Roman
- 5:54Georgia on the low right now and I'd be willing to flip a lot of
- 5:58those middling defensemen that maybe overperforming.
- 6:01Would you offer Lane Hudson for Roman Yosi?
- 6:04Yeah, absolutely. I mean, I don't think the owner
- 6:06does that. But listen, if he's a Habs fan,
- 6:07maybe. But Lynn Hudson, a package for
- 6:10Yoshi at this point, I would. Hudson has been nuts.
- 6:13He's been crazy. But I mean, Yoshi is just
- 6:15different level. He's a world star.
- 6:17He's in the Dulene, you know, not Quinn Hughes, I guess, but
- 6:23like Dolly and Bouchard conversation, I mean.
- 6:25It's just I mean rest of season for me right now it only take I
- 6:28take Macar Quinn Hughes accuracy and then it's Roman Yosi with
- 6:32Dolly in the same tier in my opinion anyways.
- 6:35Yeah, agreed. Yeah, it's a great buy low Josh.
- 6:37Let's move on to your as Kevin. All right, my body low is a
- 6:42player on the Ottawa Senators. It is Tim Stutzel.
- 6:47I mean Stutzel, listen, he's usually a point per game player,
- 6:50but over the last month he's only at .058 points per game.
- 6:53Over the last two weeks if you're looking, it's .04 points
- 6:56per game. So clearly really low compared
- 7:00to what is usual standard is in bangers league specifically,
- 7:03he's a great asset because he's the type of player that hovers
- 7:06around a double double. He'll get you like 2.5 shots,
- 7:081.5 its ish, which is really valuable in a bangers league
- 7:14when you're contributing at this level of points.
- 7:18What's important to note with Stutzel is yeah, he's only at
- 7:210.4 points per game over the last two weeks, 0.6 over the
- 7:24last month, but the power play production has still been really
- 7:28high. That's the only reason why he
- 7:29hasn't gone pointless in over the last two weeks.
- 7:33So that just goes to show that his 5V5 production is really
- 7:36tremendously regressed and he's due for the positive regression.
- 7:39His linemates are still close. You and Drake Batherson, which
- 7:42is some of the most talented players on the Ottawa Senators.
- 7:46He's poised to start heating up, especially with the timing of
- 7:49the schedule. Auto plays some of the most
- 7:50games in January completely and they have one of the best
- 7:53playoff schedules as well. So right now I'd be looking to
- 7:56buy low and also you can think of it as a great long term
- 7:59investment as well because Ottawa has a great playoff
- 8:01schedule. So it's really like a win win
- 8:03right now. I feel like the Stutzel owner,
- 8:06depending on your league, might be unwilling to part ways or
- 8:09really buy into the dip. But I think clearly, I mean,
- 8:12listen, if you look at the production over the last month
- 8:14and you're offering guy has been significantly better.
- 8:16It would be a no brainer to try and pull that off.
- 8:19Some names that I'm looking at, I would try to flip for if you
- 8:24have Clayton Keller, if you have White Johnston, even Mark Stone.
- 8:28I mean, these guys have all been crazy hot.
- 8:30So it can be really scary to try to offer A1 for one for Tim
- 8:33Suttle, who's been significantly less.
- 8:35But we have to look at it the rest of the season and you gotta
- 8:37make your call at this point. You have to have the conviction
- 8:39in your takes. Tim Switzer has a pointer game
- 8:42player. He's on one of the best power
- 8:43plays that's been clicking the whole season, one of the best
- 8:46playoff schedules. These are all things I'm looking
- 8:48at when trying to buy a player. You could even potentially flip
- 8:52Keller plus something for something.
- 8:55And you're getting the better end of the deal with Stutzel and
- 8:58maybe gonna upgrade somewhere else because the person views
- 9:00Keller better than usual right now.
- 9:03Same thing goes with White Johnson and Mark Stone.
- 9:05It was really just replaying the name game and trying to take
- 9:09advantage of a slumping player right now because I like subtle
- 9:12lot. It's a great buy low I think
- 9:15though if you wanted to offer even a little bit of a lower
- 9:18tier for targets you would maybe pull it off like.
- 9:22Obviously you want to go as low as possible, but I feel like
- 9:25still has the pedigree that you can't just give a guy that's
- 9:29been hot off waivers to try to pull that off.
- 9:31You gotta give someone that also has some weight to them.
- 9:33For sure, for sure. I was thinking like, I'm just
- 9:37trying to think, would I rather these guys that you mentioned or
- 9:40Marsha so? I was going to say Marsha was
- 9:42another name. Where yeah, we put Marshall so
- 9:44in there for Stutzel. Exactly.
- 9:46I've tried to get that deal done and in my specific Liga hasn't
- 9:49worked out. But maybe your your league is
- 9:52different and that's a very strong possibility.
- 9:55Other names I think you can consider.
- 9:59Matt Boldy would be a good name. I mean, we've spoken as boldly
- 10:02as a target for a long time and he's a great player.
- 10:05But I think Sutil is just overall a bit more complete, a
- 10:07little bit more reliable and has a little bit more of a of a
- 10:09ceiling. But yeah, I think boldly, I
- 10:13think Dylan, Gunther, I think Matt.
- 10:16Barzal, Vilardi. Vilardi.
- 10:18If you could do that, that I wasn't even considering that as
- 10:21an option, but those are the type of guys that if you're able
- 10:24to flip those for Tim Stutzel, I'd be all over that.
- 10:27Yeah, absolutely. I mean, I'm definitely, I'm
- 10:29saying I'd rather Stitzel over all these guys for sure.
- 10:32I just think that it's been pathetic recently unfortunately.
- 10:35And I think you could even lower for Sizzle.
- 10:38But you're just going to keep in mind that when you're doing this
- 10:40by low and sell highs, you're not going to win in the
- 10:42immediate future, right? Like studio is in a slum.
- 10:44When you buy him, he might not turn it around the game.
- 10:47You get him on your team, right? And you're selling.
- 10:49You're selling a player that's going to be better, but what
- 10:53you're doing is you're you're preparing your team for rest of
- 10:56season and in the coming weeks and that's really when it's
- 10:59gonna pay dividends. Yeah, well said.
- 11:01So we're going to move on to my buy low and I have to tell
- 11:08everybody that I am such a good friend for putting this as my
- 11:12bylaw. I appreciate you my man.
- 11:15Yeah, I want everybody to know this because Kevin owns this
- 11:20goaltender. In our main league, it is Elias
- 11:23Sorokin. Yeah, it's been a rough go if
- 11:28you're a Sorokin owner, however nonetheless Kevin is in second
- 11:34place in our main league, so you know he is somehow prevailed
- 11:38the. Good stuff for the praise.
- 11:41But yeah, basically Trogans a goodbye low because he's a
- 11:46talent that is, you know, as a talent, he's one of the best
- 11:49players in the league. I haven't been high on the
- 11:52Islanders all year, and I don't think they're gonna make the
- 11:54playoffs, but I do think that they're going to keep giving him
- 11:58so much playing time that you know he's going to get the
- 12:00saves. Also, there's really nowhere for
- 12:03him to go but up this year. It's been so bad.
- 12:07So yeah, it can't get worse. And I think that you can buy
- 12:11them at a pretty reasonable price.
- 12:12And even though the winds may be hard to come by, I suspect the
- 12:15same percentage is going to positively regress, at least
- 12:18modestly. So yeah, there are some guys
- 12:20that have been on a hot streak and I think you consider you
- 12:24could consider flipping forced like them for Sorokin.
- 12:28I think it could reasonably get a deal done if you offer guys
- 12:31like Jordan Bennington, Elia Samsonov, perhaps Sam Montalbo.
- 12:36We mentioned on a previous episode that we think Jacob
- 12:38Dobes may get some more starts moving forward.
- 12:41So if that's the case, that's of course going to eat into Monty's
- 12:43playing time. And yeah, I mean, at that point,
- 12:46I I'd rather Sorokin over Montalbo.
- 12:48And yeah, maybe Joey Decor 2. He's been pretty good all year,
- 12:54you know, more consistent than, let's say, Samson, Alber
- 12:56Bennington has been. But overall, it's still rather
- 12:59Sorokin moving forward than all these four guys.
- 13:03Yeah, I mean, listen, I have a lot of thoughts as a Sorokin
- 13:05owner. I like some of the names you
- 13:07mentioned a lot. I think some of the other ones
- 13:10would be harder to to to pull off.
- 13:12But my main thing is the Islanders are one of the worst
- 13:15teams in the league, unfortunately.
- 13:16They should not be this bad, but they are.
- 13:18It's just the winds are hard to come by in four fantasy.
- 13:21That's like a huge part of of why of fantasy goalie,
- 13:24successful or not. I, I do think the Islanders have
- 13:28to get better, right, because they can't get worse.
- 13:30And Sorokin is, is your prototypical like every year
- 13:32he's putting up a 907908 type of thing, right?
- 13:35And right now he's hovering right in the eight 90s.
- 13:37So he's due for some positive regression.
- 13:39And also if you're watching the games, he is insane.
- 13:41He's a great goalie. It's just his team is really
- 13:44letting him down. And that's why when it's not his
- 13:47issue, it's the team's issue. You know, the teams get to
- 13:49figure it out at some point and then that's going to help his
- 13:52production get back to where it is.
- 13:53And he's been getting literally all the starts, which in fantasy
- 13:56is all a skill in itself, right? Being able to play that many
- 13:59quantity of games or Llama has been an IR for weeks and they
- 14:04don't trust the backup unless it's a back-to-back.
- 14:07So Soroka is literally playing every game right now, which is
- 14:09valuable for your fantasy team. Just the wins are tough, but
- 14:11you're getting so much volume. You may volume your weight into
- 14:14some wins, but rest of season, I think he's a good buy low if
- 14:19you're if you're a goalie needy team and just need some
- 14:22reliability there. But you have to know that
- 14:24there's gonna be some growing pains in the near future, But
- 14:27this is one of those things that maybe it pays off eight season
- 14:29or in the coming the coming weeks when the owners maybe
- 14:32fired their coach or or turn it around a little bit.
- 14:35I like the targets you mentioned a lot.
- 14:37I think Benintendi Decord would get it done potentially
- 14:40depending on your league, depending on your league
- 14:41settings, while your league values for goalies.
- 14:45Mountable would be tough because I feel like he's just in the
- 14:47same boat as Sorokin just made slightly less starts.
- 14:50Now Samsonov is a tricky because that to me is a different type
- 14:54of archetype of goalie where Samsung was not playing three
- 14:57games a week like Sorokin, but he's playing one game a week and
- 15:00he's winning it with a great save percentage.
- 15:02So it could suit certain teams if you're in category leagues
- 15:05specifically. So yeah, you have different
- 15:07targets depending on your league.
- 15:09They're great options. Yeah, and I've gotten many
- 15:13questions. Well, you know, we've gotten
- 15:15many questions about Sorokin, you know, should we drop in
- 15:17whatever. And and I've answered the same
- 15:19thing that he's a below. So I think it was worth worth
- 15:21mentioning because. Absolutely.
- 15:22Like, and because he's a bi lo and if you're listening to this
- 15:27podcast, that doesn't mean that you should conversely sell him
- 15:31low. I would hold him.
- 15:33You cancel him right now because he's his value is basically at
- 15:35its lowest. I mean, it's been lower.
- 15:37He's gained some value recently, but it's tough to sell right now
- 15:41because he's getting outperformed by a lot of waiver
- 15:43wire options. But he has a name value and the
- 15:46pedigree of being somebody that's really good for fantasy.
- 15:48So I wouldn't really not drop, but it's it's maybe I'd consider
- 15:54benching if that's the case. Yeah, exactly.
- 15:57Like if you have a like a busy Saturday night, for instance,
- 16:00and you know it's between him and another goalie, I'd probably
- 16:04start the other goalie for now, but keep him on your roster.
- 16:07Don't drop him or anything like that.
- 16:09He's just too talented. This on a good team.
- 16:12This is one of the best goalies in the league.
- 16:14So it'll turn around at least slightly.
- 16:17So just be patient with it and that's all you can do.
- 16:20Let's move on to Josh's cell high.
- 16:24Should I go for it? Alright, Josh is very passionate
- 16:28about this player. If you listen to our new episode
- 16:30this week, the the ad drop hold, you'll maybe know who Josh is
- 16:33passionate about. But his cell hide this week is
- 16:35none other than Devon Taves. If you feel like there's a pit
- 16:39in my stomach when I'm speaking, there is because I'm playing
- 16:42against the Vantages this week where he magically has like 80%
- 16:46of his goals on the year in the last four games against my
- 16:49fantasy team, which is lovely. But yeah, he's on a hot streak
- 16:52with seven points in his last four games.
- 16:54I mean, these last four games make his average look pretty
- 16:57solid over the last or the last month with 0.92 points per game.
- 17:02Hovering over a point per game player over the last month just
- 17:04because of four games is nuts. First of all, he's 80% owned in
- 17:08Yahoo and has a lot of name value.
- 17:10So you might be able to have some people in your league think
- 17:13that this is not a fluke and may actually put some stock into
- 17:17Taves quote UN quote finally waking up.
- 17:20But let's be clear, Tapes is not worth rostering in almost any
- 17:23league while he's on a hot streak like this.
- 17:25He definitely is. So you want to hold him, but the
- 17:28second the streak ends, he's going to lose all his value,
- 17:30which could be in the next game or two, right?
- 17:32So it's the time to sell right now before the window closes.
- 17:35He's a classic example of a great in real life defenseman,
- 17:38but terrible for fantasy. You really should have been
- 17:41holding this long, but if you if you did, you're given a window
- 17:44right now where you can sell at a maybe all time high value this
- 17:48season. And those were all of Josh's
- 17:50words verbatim. So if you're upset, take it up
- 17:54with him. But once again, I agree because
- 17:57I'm not a Devon Teams fan for fantasy Jake.
- 17:59What do you think? Oh wait, before I hand it off to
- 18:02Jakey, Josh did offer some good sell high, some good I guess
- 18:09trade targets for selling Devon tapes high.
- 18:12He says you can target players like Vince Dunn, Jake Sanderson,
- 18:16and even maybe Charlie McAvoy who's been a little bit better
- 18:18as of late. I like all the names Josh
- 18:20mentioned. I take all of them easy ahead of
- 18:23Devonte's rest of season. I mean, those guys are just a
- 18:25way better situations with way better deployment, way better
- 18:28category coverage. So I think it's a no brainer and
- 18:31it's a time to strike right now. Now, Jake, what do you think?
- 18:35Yeah. So like Devante is essentially
- 18:37is essentially the personification of that Michael
- 18:39Jordan meme. Like I took that personally so.
- 18:41The one literally, I'm so upset because I said some bad things
- 18:45about him last week and he came back with a vengeance because
- 18:48clearly I played against him this week in fantasy and he's
- 18:51ruined me. So yeah, that's what I get.
- 18:54Yeah, You know, I was going to say that the really the only
- 18:58good thing to come out of this is that at least we know that
- 19:01Devante is listening to this podcast because you clearly.
- 19:04There's no other reason or that we have magical powers and
- 19:08anybody that we speak negatively on is gonna take it personally
- 19:11when we play against them in fantasy.
- 19:13So. No, it's usually the opposite.
- 19:14I honestly, we have a great record in our in our streamers
- 19:18episode and usually our our bylaws and up turning things
- 19:21around and our sell highs end up being horrible.
- 19:24But yeah, unfortunately with the the drop, I mean right after he
- 19:30was like, Nah, guys, let me show you.
- 19:32What do volunteers has really made of?
- 19:34But yeah, it's not going to last.
- 19:36I'd certainly rather all these three guys that were mentioned.
- 19:39It's like we've spent so much time talking about how bad
- 19:42Davantes is that it almost feels like on like impossible to to
- 19:48get, you know, these guys for him.
- 19:50But based on performance overall in the season and how they've
- 19:54been performing lately, it's, it's not that unrealistic.
- 19:58So I would definitely send a trade offer, perhaps a package
- 20:00of of sorts, but. Yeah, I think, I think for
- 20:02McAvoy, maybe in a packet, but for Vince Dunn or Sanderson, I
- 20:06think maybe even A1 for one. Like he's on an 80% of leagues.
- 20:09Like clearly he has something of value to him.
- 20:11I think you can easily trade him.
- 20:13He might be in waivers on some of your more serious leagues
- 20:16because he doesn't really offer much for fantasy besides these
- 20:19last like five games of extreme production.
- 20:23But yeah. Yeah, and like, you know, a bit
- 20:28of a spoiler alert, you know, for, you know, what's to come.
- 20:33But, you know, Devonte is is not like some, you know, elite,
- 20:36elite talent. He had like one really solid
- 20:40year, but you know, whatever. And at this point, you know,
- 20:43cross position. But how does it make sense that
- 20:46Devante is rostered in 82% of leagues and Patrick Haines
- 20:49rostered in 54? I just like that.
- 20:52Just like the defenseman position, but.
- 20:55Still, it doesn't make sense to me.
- 20:56But anyway, whatever, whatever. Anyway, move on to yours and
- 21:01we'll we'll maybe get to the Patrick Kane later.
- 21:05Well, spoiler alert OHT well OK, alright well my cell hide this
- 21:10week is Macklin celebrity of the SJO San Jose Sharks.
- 21:16I mean over the last month he's averaging one point per game and
- 21:19his shots have been nuts. They've been over three shots a
- 21:22game. He's starting to come back down
- 21:23to earth if you look at the last like 2 weeks ish.
- 21:27So I think now is a really good window where you can maybe sell
- 21:29him on the production that the crazy production that you had
- 21:31earlier in the month. I mean, listen, he was arguably
- 21:35the most exciting hockey player to watch in the NHL for a
- 21:40stretch of like two to three weeks where it felt like every
- 21:42day you had a new highlight and 1st overall pick, right?
- 21:46So he has a huge name value, crazy pedigree.
- 21:50So I think a lot of people are really enticed and excited by
- 21:52this. They want on their team.
- 21:54Ju felt used to come to this where you were willing to trade
- 21:57Larkin for him. But I think right now is the
- 22:01time to cash in on the name and and level up to a different
- 22:05level of player. But like I said, these last two
- 22:08weeks is starting to come back down to earth.
- 22:10So your window is closing. So I'll give you some options
- 22:12for players that maybe you can sell them on the higher name
- 22:15value. But if the window closed and you
- 22:17can't really get that level, I still take a tear up and I'll
- 22:21offer some other names. So on the high end, if you can
- 22:23get Sebastian Aho, Jake Guentzel, Roman Yosi, I think
- 22:26Romanoski maybe is right now the most attainable because he's
- 22:29he's a defenseman That's also on our bylaw.
- 22:32But yeah, those two other guys insane value for able to get
- 22:35them. I mean, I know I'm shooting
- 22:37high, it might be difficult, but if you can pull that off in a
- 22:40negotiation, maybe a 2 for two package.
- 22:42Crazy if we're aiming a little bit lower, I think these guys
- 22:47are a Tier 2 below but Tage Thompson, Elias Pettersson is
- 22:51currently hurt, which would be a great opportunity to buy or Mark
- 22:54Shifley. I think all of those three guys
- 22:56I would take the rest of the season over.
- 22:58Maclin, Celebri if you're if you're playoffs start in week.
- 23:02I think it's 22. The San Jose Sharks also have a
- 23:062 game week, so I would try to flip them for a team that has a
- 23:10better playoff schedule. Yeah, there's a lot of things to
- 23:13take into account. His shots are great, his points
- 23:15are great, he's a great fantasy asset, but he's not as good as
- 23:18his production was and on the San Jose Sharks are gonna have
- 23:21some consistency built in. I would look to flip if you can
- 23:25for one of those things I listed.
- 23:27Yeah, so I I actually mentioned celebrity on the Week 9 Cell
- 23:32High episode for Robert Thomas, Philip Forsberg or Vincent
- 23:35Trocheck and. I'd be happy with all of those
- 23:38right now. What, you'd be happy with most
- 23:40of those right now? Yeah, exactly.
- 23:42And I would still like I'm saying though that yours right
- 23:45now, like you could now aim higher for celebrity than them.
- 23:48So like if you had taken my advice, you know, 5 weeks ago,
- 23:52done the Thomas Forsberg or Trocheck swap, you'd still be
- 23:55happy with them over celebrity. But celebrity just kept
- 23:58performing. And at this stage of the game,
- 24:01you can aim even higher, such as, you know, Aho Gensel, Yoshi.
- 24:06I do think, I mean, you know, Tage Tage could work.
- 24:09Honestly, all these guys could work.
- 24:11So I'm saying you can aim higher.
- 24:12So as Kevin mentioned, the windows closing, why don't you
- 24:15just try and offer for these guys, the ones that Kevin
- 24:18mentioned and then negotiated down for the ones that were
- 24:22mentioned in week 9. And at that stage, I mean, you
- 24:25know, sooner you offer it, the better because the playoff
- 24:28schedule is super important. That's what we need to think
- 24:30about now. There's no participation trophy.
- 24:32You, you win the league if you win the, well, the playoffs in
- 24:35most cases. And yeah, this the at this
- 24:38point, what I think is, um, he's been so good.
- 24:41The Sharks have been good. Well, good.
- 24:44No, they've been inconsistent, but they're exciting to watch
- 24:46mainly because of him. But we say it all the time,
- 24:49rookies equals inconsistency. That's what you're gonna get for
- 24:52celebrating rest of season. You could get a well known, you
- 24:57know, name like all the ones that Kevin mentioned.
- 24:59And you should definitely aim for that at this point because
- 25:02the window isn't going to stay around forever.
- 25:04Yep, exactly. I guess we'll wrap it up with
- 25:07your spoiled pick already knows what it is and probably are
- 25:11tuning out right now because. Of it.
- 25:12So my cell high is Alexander Ovechkin not Yeah, it's what
- 25:24it's Patrick Kane. I just had to mention that early
- 25:27because like it just doesn't make sense that Davantes is
- 25:30higher is roster so much higher than Patrick Kane and like
- 25:33Jonathan Huberdeau, two former like I mean superstars.
- 25:36But I mean, it's different. But yeah, there's no reason why
- 25:40tape should be that high. In 82% compared to like who does
- 25:4440 and and Jane's 50. Like what the heck, like these
- 25:47are these are like some of the league's best players.
- 25:49And Huberdeau was myself high last year last year last week.
- 25:53Patrick Kane is myself high this week.
- 25:55And the reason is because since McClelland has been appointed
- 25:58head coach of the Red Wings, the whole team has been on fire five
- 26:01wins in their last six games since he took over.
- 26:04I saw something on Instagram actually which was a picture of
- 26:07McClellan yelling at the team saying play if the six stars
- 26:12hockey. So like F ****6 times hockey.
- 26:17So I cleverly commented, Oh nice, he's encouraging the Red
- 26:21Wings to play fantasy hockey. Which low?
- 26:26Key. If he that would be such a good
- 26:31burn. Like wow you guys suck so much.
- 26:33Go play fantasy hockey instead of real hockey.
- 26:35Like, you might as well listen to Banger Manager while you're
- 26:37at it. Honestly.
- 26:39But anyway, he did not meet fantasy.
- 26:41He meant the F word, which we can't say.
- 26:43But all this to say, Kane, the idea of it is that, you know,
- 26:50when there's a new coach, there's always a bump in
- 26:52productivity. And of course, this translates
- 26:55well for like the skilled players like Patrick Kane.
- 26:58I also don't think he's washed per se, but I do think that the
- 27:02that this is just like a hot streak and it's going to come to
- 27:05an end. Over the past two weeks, he's
- 27:07averaged 1.33 points per game, 2.8 three shots, and a
- 27:12completely unsustainable 0.83 power play points per game.
- 27:17That's nuts. Since the 2122 campaign, Kane
- 27:22has failed to be a point per game player.
- 27:24And I think that while, you know, the little streak may have
- 27:27helped your team for fantasy, I would certainly, certainly
- 27:31consider pivoting away from him. He has the name value, the, you
- 27:35know, the name pedigree, the clear offensive history of being
- 27:39an elite but like an elite talent.
- 27:41But I suspect that once teams figure out the way that the
- 27:45Wings system operates under McClellan and particularly how
- 27:49to shut Kane and Debrincat down, you're gonna wish you sold him
- 27:53before it was too late. So I think that these are
- 27:56really, really reasonable trade targets.
- 27:58I would trade Patrick Kane away for Ryan Nugent, Hopkins, Matt
- 28:03Barzel a little. You're aiming a little low here,
- 28:07but possibly Michael Grandland, who's been horrible as of late.
- 28:11So what do you think? I mean, I like a lot of the
- 28:17names you listed. I think Patrick Kane is a is a
- 28:19really good sell high right now just given the fact that Detroit
- 28:23is we, like we mentioned previously, one of the hottest
- 28:27power plays at the moment. Yeah, I think there's a lot of
- 28:31players that I would take Patrick Kane, that I would take
- 28:33ahead of Patrick Kane the rest of season.
- 28:35The names that you listed are great targets.
- 28:39Yeah, I completely agree. I would prefer out of this, this
- 28:42group, Barzal and Ryan Hopkins the most.
- 28:44Barzelay is a little bit of a hot streak, might be a little
- 28:47bit harder to attain, but I'd still try maybe in a package as
- 28:52well. Like I think Patrick Kane used
- 28:54to be looked at as a throw in at this point, but now he's way
- 28:57more than just throwing. He's like his own individual
- 28:59fantasy asset. If you can get like a I mean let
- 29:04me know. Like if you can flip them for
- 29:08Dmitri Voronkov. What do you think rest of season
- 29:11if Rankov keeps that line? 1P1 he's been extremely hot.
- 29:15Right now he's arguably a Sahin himself, but the rest of the
- 29:17season, like who do you trust more?
- 29:20I'd actually probably rather Voronkov, but as you said,
- 29:24they've both been so hot so that's why I'm not sure if it's
- 29:26like a. Good.
- 29:27You're aiming for like a middle for like a middle level guy.
- 29:30Like I think I would take Buchnevich.
- 29:33I would maybe take Will Cooley for in a bangers league.
- 29:36Um, I think Logan Cooley, you're looking at cross position.
- 29:42Like he's at that level of kind of player where he's not the
- 29:44best player in fantasy team, but you're getting a season long
- 29:47hold where Patrick Kane might fall out of form and not give
- 29:51you that season long hold type of production anymore.
- 29:53Yeah, I completely agree. I think you know, like Timo
- 29:59Myers, I mean, it's Paul. Maybe I was gonna say Matthew
- 30:02Nars, but after this like 5 game performance, you know, it's it's
- 30:05tough but but the. Chris Kreider I think would be a
- 30:07great name. Yes, that would be a great name.
- 30:09Chris Carter is a great idea. Idea behind this cell is that
- 30:15Patrick Kane was like a first round fantasy pick for years.
- 30:20This is like an elite, elite talent who's going to go into
- 30:23the Hall of Fame for sure. It's just that he's clearly past
- 30:27his prime. He's already 36 years old.
- 30:30And I don't really think that the Wings are going to be like
- 30:34this. It's not that they won't be an
- 30:36OK team moving forward. I think they're way better than
- 30:38like the Islanders, for instance.
- 30:40It's just that offensively I, I don't really see them like as
- 30:45like a, an offensively amazing team and that's what Kane has
- 30:50been good at throughout his career.
- 30:51I just don't think that this is like the turning point for them.
- 30:55I think it's gonna slow down immensely.
- 30:57And at that point, you're holding the bag.
- 30:59So if you could flip them, flip them now.
- 31:01It's a classic new Coach Bum. Time to capitalize on it.
- 31:04That's pretty much it. Well said.
