Transcript
- 0:02Speaker 1: Ladies and gentlemen, boys and girls, it's your favorite time
- 0:04Speaker 1: of week. You get to download the crazy sheet and
- 0:07Speaker 1: get you to talk to Scotty and Mark about some
- 0:09Speaker 1: college football. I'm Mark. I'm here in the podcasting studio.
- 0:12Speaker 1: My man Scotty is out on the road. Brother, how
- 0:15Speaker 1: the hell are you?
- 0:16Speaker 2: Man, good. Just settling into college football. We had some
- 0:20Speaker 2: good games last week. My Bulldogs are actually a football team. Hell,
- 0:25Speaker 2: I don't know what to think.
- 0:28Speaker 1: You know, I went oppo on you last week, and
- 0:30Speaker 1: I took the dogs as I got closer to that spot.
- 0:33Speaker 1: You got a special player, quarterback. I don't think nobody
- 0:36Speaker 1: in the country knows about him yet, but Super Camario,
- 0:39Speaker 1: I'm kind of digging this kid.
- 0:42Speaker 2: Man, he's good. He is a great athlete. I'll say this.
- 0:45Speaker 2: He looks the part. That kid is a specimen, and, man,
- 0:49Speaker 2: he can throw the football. It was amazing. The speed
- 0:53Speaker 2: difference in that ballgame, was gigantic. I mean, they just
- 0:59Speaker 2: simply did not have the speed to keep up with us.
- 1:03Speaker 2: Was surprised they couldn't get the ball in the end
- 1:05Speaker 2: zone a little more. They drove the football pretty well,
- 1:09Speaker 2: but just never could get in the end zone. I mean,
- 1:11Speaker 2: it was, you know, that bend don't break was pretty good.
- 1:14Speaker 2: Arnett is a gigantic improvement on that defense. And that
- 1:20Speaker 2: is obviously helping Jeff Levy significantly. So it's going to
- 1:24Speaker 2: be interesting. Boy, that game in Austin. Woo, buddy. What's
- 1:29Speaker 2: your takeaway there? You know, first is I think both
- 1:33Speaker 2: those teams were more flawed than I thought they were
- 1:37Speaker 2: watching them. I think this game could really catapult Texas.
- 1:41Speaker 2: A come from behind like that kind of gives you swagger. Because,
- 1:46Speaker 2: you know, look, that was a freak interception from Cam
- 1:49Speaker 2: Coleman's pass. And that's a gigantic, he hauls that in.
- 1:53Speaker 2: And man, they're set up and they're going to have
- 1:56Speaker 2: a lead. I mean, that's a totally different ballgame. Instead,
- 2:00Speaker 2: it's an interception that's going the other way. I mean,
- 2:04Speaker 2: that was a freaky play that they were able to
- 2:07Speaker 2: overcome it, I think says a lot about the makeup
- 2:10Speaker 2: of this team. I don't think everybody is going to
- 2:14Speaker 2: talk about And I think there are a couple of
- 2:19Speaker 2: key plays that are important. You know, that's why Ryan
- 2:23Speaker 2: Day gets criticized not being able to close games like that.
- 2:28Speaker 2: I will say two things. First, Julian saying when he
- 2:30Speaker 2: threw it to Smith, when they missed the field goal
- 2:33Speaker 2: in the fourth quarter, on that third down play, he's
- 2:36Speaker 2: got the out route and they've got a linebacker. They
- 2:39Speaker 2: ran a double move with Smith and he chose to
- 2:43Speaker 2: make the tougher throw He takes that out route, and
- 2:47Speaker 2: I think he could have gotten that ball completed pretty easy. Man,
- 2:51Speaker 2: we're talking a different outcome because another first down makes
- 2:55Speaker 2: that kick significantly cleaner. But I also don't want to
- 2:59Speaker 2: leave out everybody's talking about, oh, you make that field
- 3:01Speaker 2: goal you win. How about you make the field goal
- 3:03Speaker 2: when you're up 13-3 instead of going for it on
- 3:06Speaker 2: fourth and two at your 10 and decide to run it?
- 3:09Speaker 2: I mean, that to me was the most questionable call
- 3:12Speaker 2: they made all day. So I think that because that
- 3:16Speaker 2: field goal is a whole heck of a lot easier
- 3:18Speaker 2: to make when it's a 27-yarder and you've got all
- 3:21Speaker 2: the momentum and the crowd's quiet. than a, what, 45,
- 3:25Speaker 2: 48-yard or whatever it was with eight minutes left. And
- 3:28Speaker 2: everybody knows if you make this, the game's probably over with, what,
- 3:32Speaker 2: four minutes left in the game or whatever it was.
- 3:34Speaker 2: So I think that is a play a lot of
- 3:37Speaker 2: people got off the hook that I think had a
- 3:40Speaker 2: big impact on that football game. He was trying to
- 3:43Speaker 2: go for the jugular when he should have just kept
- 3:46Speaker 2: taking body blows. So that was my thoughts on that.
- 3:50Speaker 2: Alabama came out. Holy. and looked good in the second
- 3:54Speaker 2: half after looking atrocious in the first half. Clearly, they
- 3:58Speaker 2: got read the right act. And how about Oregon? Yikes.
- 4:03Speaker 2: That was ugly. And, I mean, Mark, most people weren't
- 4:07Speaker 2: watching that game because there were other good games on.
- 4:09Speaker 2: You got Oklahoma, Michigan going on, all of that. Most
- 4:13Speaker 2: people weren't watching that game. Their first touchdown was basically
- 4:18Speaker 2: a 100-yard pick-six game. Their second touchdown was a gift.
- 4:24Speaker 2: They had about a five-yard drive because a batted ball
- 4:26Speaker 2: got intercepted. They had two interceptions. One of them, while
- 4:31Speaker 2: they were going in to score on them again, Oklahoma
- 4:34Speaker 2: State dominated their ass. I mean, that game was not
- 4:38Speaker 2: as close as the score indicated. I mean, they drilled them.
- 4:44Speaker 1: Yeah. No, I agree with you. I think that team,
- 4:47Speaker 1: if you're Oregon– I think you really got to go
- 4:52Speaker 1: back to the drawing board. I'm not in the land
- 4:55Speaker 1: 50-some-odd points, but I can't imagine they don't just absolutely
- 5:01Speaker 1: run roughshod through Portland State this week. Because Portland State's
- 5:03Speaker 1: not very good to begin with. But I think you've
- 5:06Speaker 1: got to do some reckoning there. Because you've heard about
- 5:08Speaker 1: all that defensive line and how much they spent to
- 5:10Speaker 1: keep it. But you lost a couple of those guys
- 5:13Speaker 1: left and went to other teams. And you've got to
- 5:16Speaker 1: wonder if there was a depth issue there. I mean,
- 5:18Speaker 1: Dante Moore– I mean, I hope he's getting paid well,
- 5:24Speaker 1: and I'm sure he is, because he cost himself draft
- 5:27Speaker 1: picks by coming back because he does not look good whatsoever. Yeah,
- 5:33Speaker 1: I'm shocked. That was probably my biggest takeaway of that.
- 5:36Speaker 1: But at the same time, look at a couple of
- 5:39Speaker 1: teams I want to point out. Georgia, you know, start
- 5:42Speaker 1: the season, everybody's like, Kirby doesn't cover these big lines.
- 5:45Speaker 1: Georgia's coming out and just pounding people. I mean, physically pounding.
- 5:49Speaker 2: People, which– They look like the best team in the country.
- 5:52Speaker 1: Yeah, I totally agree with you. LSU started really shaky
- 5:57Speaker 1: with three interceptions in the first half and then turned
- 6:00Speaker 1: the gas on. Sam Leavitt doing Sam Leavitt things. Texas
- 6:04Speaker 1: A & M, you know, hanging around. Arizona State hanging around,
- 6:08Speaker 1: hanging around. I had some good takeaways from both of
- 6:11Speaker 1: those teams in that spot there. Oklahoma and Michigan, boy,
- 6:16Speaker 1: John Mateer. He may look good dressed up in his underwear. But, damn,
- 6:20Speaker 1: he cannot throw a pass, forward pass that's worth a shit.
- 6:24Speaker 2: Man, he can't. He needs the guys to be open.
- 6:27Speaker 2: I mean, he had guys open. He was throwing the
- 6:30Speaker 2: ball high, throwing it behind people. I mean, that pick
- 6:33Speaker 2: was ugly. I mean, that pick is probably two feet
- 6:36Speaker 2: behind that wide receiver. I mean, that's a terrible throw.
- 6:39Speaker 2: And in that situation, you just simply can't. do it
- 6:45Speaker 2: uh was stunned they did not i mean you kept
- 6:47Speaker 2: hearing the announcer saying you got to take advantage of
- 6:50Speaker 2: the tight end matchup and it's like matier would give
- 6:53Speaker 2: him a half a second if he wasn't instantly open
- 6:55Speaker 2: he moves on to the next guy and every play
- 6:59Speaker 2: after his move it would take him about a second
- 7:01Speaker 2: and a half and he'd be breaking open and matier's
- 7:04Speaker 2: already moved on to somebody else and gonna throw it
- 7:06Speaker 2: into coverage uh i'll tell you what i'd also see
- 7:08Speaker 2: their wide receivers don't have that just giddy up. They
- 7:14Speaker 2: couldn't get open.
- 7:16Speaker 1: The only person who can is Satania. He's the only
- 7:19Speaker 1: one that can get open.
- 7:20Speaker 2: And he couldn't get open the other day. I mean,
- 7:24Speaker 2: he's pretty light. I mean, they were getting him off
- 7:27Speaker 2: his routes. I thought the Michigan defense did a great job.
- 7:31Speaker 2: That defense is nasty. Underwood is a different player. Kudos
- 7:35Speaker 2: to that kid for answering the bell, coming out and
- 7:37Speaker 2: playing probably his best game. but he's better when he
- 7:41Speaker 2: runs the football. If the freshman running back, if you
- 7:46Speaker 2: want to know for every For every college fan that
- 7:49Speaker 2: wants to know why the big-time recruit running back doesn't play,
- 7:53Speaker 2: it's two things. They can't pass block, and they can't
- 7:57Speaker 2: run read options. I mean, if that kid doesn't keep
- 8:00Speaker 2: that football a couple of times where he's just basically
- 8:03Speaker 2: taking it for Underwood, he'd have run for days. They
- 8:06Speaker 2: ended up having to punt one time, and Underwood would
- 8:08Speaker 2: have gotten 15 yards. The whole defense went with the back,
- 8:12Speaker 2: and he took the ball, and you could see Underwood
- 8:15Speaker 2: wanted the football back. It's just brutal, just brutal. Yeah, yeah.
- 8:19Speaker 1: No, I watched that in real time, and I was like, well,
- 8:23Speaker 1: in real time, I was like, why did he give
- 8:25Speaker 1: him the ball? And then when they slowed it down,
- 8:28Speaker 1: you could see, like, as he took the ball, he's like, what?
- 8:30Speaker 1: It's like, because he saw the hole right there.
- 8:32Speaker 2: Oh, yeah.
- 8:33Speaker 1: He was about to bust that thing wide open.
- 8:36Speaker 2: Yeah, so that's why freshmen don't play even though they're
- 8:40Speaker 2: super talented. There's some parts to the game that you've
- 8:44Speaker 2: got to pick up or it hurts your football team.
- 8:46Speaker 2: It's not just talent.
- 8:47Speaker 1: So one thing I thought that was interesting in that
- 8:49Speaker 1: game was, you know, week one, watching Michigan against that
- 8:53Speaker 1: Western Michigan team, I felt like they were trying to
- 8:57Speaker 1: cram Underwood into an offensive system that he wasn't– didn't
- 9:01Speaker 1: fit in. And then they came back last week, and
- 9:04Speaker 1: it looked more like the Utah offense with Devin Dampier.
- 9:09Speaker 1: It's like, make a look. If it's not covered, go.
- 9:12Speaker 1: And I don't know if you saw this or not,
- 9:13Speaker 1: but Brian Kelly was on the– he was on the
- 9:17Speaker 1: pregame show, and he was talking about Underwood. He goes,
- 9:20Speaker 1: I know this kid well. He goes, we recruited him
- 9:21Speaker 1: for two years. He goes, he's a phenomenal athlete. He goes,
- 9:24Speaker 1: he's a one-read quarterback right now. It is, look, if
- 9:28Speaker 1: it's not there, then he needs to go or check
- 9:31Speaker 1: out– it's like, He goes, he can't come across the–
- 9:34Speaker 1: and he wasn't being tacky about the guy. He was
- 9:36Speaker 1: just saying this is his strength. Play to it. And
- 9:39Speaker 1: there's a lot of those kids in college football. You
- 9:41Speaker 1: can have a one-league quarterback in college and do really
- 9:43Speaker 1: well as long as you build an offense to predicate
- 9:46Speaker 1: around that.
- 9:48Speaker 2: Yep, that's exactly right. That's exactly right. So, fun week
- 9:52Speaker 2: last week. Won a few more games. Almost got her
- 9:56Speaker 2: upset special, dead gummit. South Alabama couldn't quite close, but
- 10:01Speaker 2: they were there for us. It was a good pick.
- 10:04Speaker 2: Tulane just figured out a way to win the game.
- 10:07Speaker 1: Tulane is not very good.
- 10:09Speaker 2: Tulane is not very good.
- 10:12Speaker 1: Scotty week three, good Lord of Friday. You got all
- 10:16Speaker 1: kinds of good things going on here. Obviously we're going
- 10:19Speaker 1: to jump into that. This is the one that I
- 10:23Speaker 1: think people in the South, people from Mississippi have just
- 10:27Speaker 1: been waiting for, which will be the lane train pulling
- 10:30Speaker 1: back into town. You got lane talking about, he's worried
- 10:34Speaker 1: about his personal safety might need the national guard coming
- 10:38Speaker 1: in there. I mean, This is going to be like
- 10:39Speaker 1: when they– I mean, Lane talking about like they're about
- 10:42Speaker 1: to desegregate the school again. You know, you've got to
- 10:44Speaker 1: send the National Guard from Jackson in to come save
- 10:47Speaker 1: his ass, except I don't know that they will. And
- 10:49Speaker 1: now you– I don't know if you saw this or not,
- 10:51Speaker 1: but Ole Miss served Prince whatever the– I can't pronounce
- 10:55Speaker 1: his last name, but the defensive end. They served him
- 10:59Speaker 1: yesterday in the parking lot a civil lawsuit for breaking
- 11:02Speaker 1: a contract on him.
- 11:04Speaker 2: No, the week of the game. Oh, that's fabulous.
- 11:07Speaker 1: Oh, that's fabulous.
- 11:11Speaker 2: I did not see that.
- 11:12Speaker 1: The days of our live soap opera that is college football.
- 11:19Speaker 2: We can be the rebels going full petty there. That's awesome.
- 11:25Speaker 1: They served him coming out of practice in the parking
- 11:28Speaker 1: lot with a, uh, A civil lawsuit of breaking his
- 11:32Speaker 1: contract with the school. I thought that was fantastic.
- 11:36Speaker 2: Oh, man. That is hilarious.
- 11:38Speaker 1: Let's jump into it, Scott. Got a couple of games
- 11:40Speaker 1: Friday night. Dive into Saturday. All kinds of awesome there.
- 11:43Speaker 1: We've got three games Friday night. You've got Miami, Wake Forest. Actually,
- 11:47Speaker 1: we've got a Thursday night game here, Scott. First one
- 11:49Speaker 1: I want to get to, Syracuse and Pittsburgh. How about
- 11:53Speaker 1: my Cow Bears last week? Coming back to beat Syracuse
- 11:57Speaker 1: on the road, traveling across the country to get the win.
- 12:00Speaker 1: Playing Nard Dog here. I don't know that I'm going
- 12:03Speaker 1: to get involved. I used to love Thursday night unders.
- 12:06Speaker 1: I will say one thing. I looked this morning and
- 12:09Speaker 1: tempo across the board in college football is down. Teams
- 12:13Speaker 1: are not pressing this as much as they used to.
- 12:16Speaker 1: And so you got to wonder if we're going to
- 12:18Speaker 1: get a chance for some first half unders in there.
- 12:20Speaker 1: Obviously anything that requires five scores, I typically get involved with.
- 12:25Speaker 1: I don't have a play in this pit minus 10
- 12:27Speaker 1: and a half against Syracuse Thursday plan on watching it.
- 12:30Speaker 1: I don't know if you've got anything on that one
- 12:32Speaker 1: or not.
- 12:33Speaker 2: No, I don't. I, you know, I, I, Felt like
- 12:36Speaker 2: the Cuse was going to play well last week. They
- 12:38Speaker 2: did play pretty well, but you're right. Cal was able
- 12:40Speaker 2: to get it done on the road, so that'll be
- 12:43Speaker 2: a fun game to watch.
- 12:45Speaker 1: First one I really like here, Scott, Friday night is
- 12:48Speaker 1: Miami laying 20-and-a-half, if you can get it, against Wake Forest.
- 12:52Speaker 1: Wake Forest went into overtime, double overtime last week to
- 12:55Speaker 1: actually pull that game off against Purdue. Good win for them.
- 13:00Speaker 1: Traveling back across the country, short week. Because, again, they
- 13:05Speaker 1: wouldn't have gotten in until late, late Saturday night, and
- 13:07Speaker 1: then you've got a big game ready to host Miami
- 13:09Speaker 1: coming in. Miami, absolutely. They played Friday night, too, so
- 13:13Speaker 1: it's not a short week for them. They beat FAMU 77-0.
- 13:17Speaker 1: If you've watched Miami play yet, you know everything kind
- 13:20Speaker 1: of runs front to back from Malachi Toney on that offense.
- 13:24Speaker 1: But I think this Miami team has just got it
- 13:26Speaker 1: going on here. Laying 21, I like this as a
- 13:29Speaker 1: road game. I'm going to take the Hurricanes. Laying 21
- 13:31Speaker 1: is my first guess.
- 13:33Speaker 2: Yeah. I like the Canes here as well. I think, uh,
- 13:36Speaker 2: Miami just looks like, looks like they're on the movements
- 13:38Speaker 2: is a great fit. Uh, one of the better quarterbacks
- 13:41Speaker 2: in the country and obviously got some weapons. So this
- 13:44Speaker 2: is going to be, uh, this is going to be
- 13:45Speaker 2: a tough game for Wake Forest.
- 13:48Speaker 1: Yeah, I agree with that.
- 13:49Speaker 2: Next game.
- 13:49Speaker 1: I want to go to Scotty Friday night, big game
- 13:51Speaker 1: on Fox, Texas tech will be hosting university of Houston.
- 13:55Speaker 1: Tech is breaking out. They're all new, all black uniforms line.
- 13:59Speaker 1: Here's right at seven and a half. Uh, Line preseason
- 14:03Speaker 1: on this, the week ago look-ahead line was closer to 13.
- 14:07Speaker 1: Both of these teams have a common opponent in Oregon State.
- 14:10Speaker 1: The reason I bring that up is not to compare
- 14:12Speaker 1: them against each other. I think Oregon State may be
- 14:15Speaker 1: better than we thought they were. I mean, I've kind
- 14:18Speaker 1: of been impressed with that team so far, and I
- 14:20Speaker 1: was expecting them to be hot garbage. But looking at.
- 14:26Speaker 2: This game here. They've got two losses, but they played
- 14:28Speaker 2: both those teams pretty well. Yeah.
- 14:32Speaker 1: Looking at these teams here, man, you've got Texas Tech
- 14:35Speaker 1: at home. This Texas Tech team, I don't know who's
- 14:38Speaker 1: found itself yet. And so Hammond, the quarterback, two touchdowns,
- 14:44Speaker 1: one interception on the season. They're still kind of struggling
- 14:47Speaker 1: to figure out who they are offensively. But the other
- 14:49Speaker 1: thing you've noticed with Texas Tech this year is they
- 14:51Speaker 1: don't have the man-eating defensive line that they had last year.
- 14:56Speaker 1: And so in both of the games that they've played,
- 15:00Speaker 1: they were very content to sit back and rush three
- 15:03Speaker 1: to four, did not blitz. They have blitzed on 9%
- 15:07Speaker 1: of snaps so far this season. And I kind of
- 15:10Speaker 1: wonder if that's coaching holding stuff back, not wanting to
- 15:15Speaker 1: put it on tape and wait until they get into
- 15:17Speaker 1: conference play. Because Tech knows what they're up against here.
- 15:20Speaker 1: They know they've got a couple of games that they
- 15:22Speaker 1: have to win to get a chance to play for
- 15:23Speaker 1: the Big 12 championship and hopefully secure a ticket to
- 15:27Speaker 1: go play in the CFP playoffs. And then you got
- 15:30Speaker 1: Houston here, one of my favorite coaches in Willie Fritz.
- 15:33Speaker 1: If this line hadn't moved and it was still with
- 15:35Speaker 1: the plus 10 and a half, plus 13 that we
- 15:37Speaker 1: were looking at, the look at line, I would be
- 15:39Speaker 1: all over Houston in this one. Seven and a half
- 15:43Speaker 1: might sit and wait. If it goes under seven, I
- 15:45Speaker 1: might even take Texas Tech in this one. But I
- 15:48Speaker 1: think Houston's going to give them all they want out
- 15:50Speaker 1: there in Lubbock Friday night.
- 15:52Speaker 2: I do too. I just think it's, you know, I
- 15:54Speaker 2: think part of it is Hammond's just not fully healthy.
- 15:56Speaker 2: I mean, that injury didn't, he's not even outside of
- 15:59Speaker 2: a year from surgery. So I still think that's a
- 16:04Speaker 2: leg they're having to be careful with. Let me say
- 16:06Speaker 2: it like that. And I think that, I think that's
- 16:10Speaker 2: going to show on Friday night. I do expect, I
- 16:14Speaker 2: do expect the Cougars to cover, but I think it's
- 16:18Speaker 2: going to be a great game and certainly a great environment.
- 16:20Speaker 2: Love it.
- 16:23Speaker 1: Next one I like, Scotty, Arkansas hosting Georgia. This is
- 16:26Speaker 1: an interesting spot. Arkansas played that late game in Salt
- 16:30Speaker 1: Lake at Rice Eccles. Just got manhandled in that game,
- 16:34Speaker 1: by the way. Started out a little bit and just
- 16:37Speaker 1: couldn't keep up. Now they've got to come home to
- 16:40Speaker 1: play Georgia. Arkansas didn't get home until Sunday. They actually
- 16:44Speaker 1: stayed the night in Salt Lake City Saturday night, flew
- 16:47Speaker 1: home Sunday. And so you've got a weird travel schedule
- 16:51Speaker 1: for them. Georgia's coming in here. Line here is 24
- 16:54Speaker 1: and a half. I'm laying it. I think Smithfield's– the
- 16:59Speaker 1: coach at Arkansas is the one that made the snide
- 17:01Speaker 1: remark about Georgia football last year when he was still
- 17:04Speaker 1: at Memphis. You know, players getting arrested, blah, blah, blah.
- 17:08Speaker 1: I think Kirby Smart is in it this year. I
- 17:11Speaker 1: think he's letting everybody else get talked about, all the media, Lane,
- 17:18Speaker 1: Ole Miss, all the stuff, Texas, Arch. And it's real
- 17:23Speaker 1: quiet in Athens. And they are pounding people. I think
- 17:27Speaker 1: they are going to crush Arkansas Saturday morning at home.
- 17:31Speaker 1: I mean, I think this is going to look a
- 17:32Speaker 1: lot like the Notre Dame-Arkansas game did last year in Vietnam.
- 17:37Speaker 1: Give me the hogs, baby. I mean, give me the dogs, baby.
- 17:42Speaker 1: I love Georgia right here.
- 17:46Speaker 2: I think Georgia's playing like the best team in the country.
- 17:48Speaker 2: I mean, I've said that multiple times. I knew that
- 17:52Speaker 2: they were going to be one of the best teams
- 17:53Speaker 2: in the country, and they looked the part. Gunnar Stockton's
- 17:57Speaker 2: just playing really, really good football. I do not think
- 18:00Speaker 2: Arkansas is going to be able to keep up. Honestly,
- 18:02Speaker 2: it's going to be how bad does Kirby want to
- 18:04Speaker 2: win this game? You're right. Silverfield making the comment about
- 18:10Speaker 2: Georgia is probably stuck in his draw. Even though that
- 18:13Speaker 2: was last year in a different team, Coach is the
- 18:16Speaker 2: same dude. He's getting a chance to take a shot
- 18:18Speaker 2: at him. I got a feeling Kirby will take it.
- 18:20Speaker 2: I think Georgia wins this and wins it big.
- 18:24Speaker 1: Ooh, I'm with you here. I want another game with
- 18:26Speaker 1: that 11 o'clock slot that I'm kind of interested in
- 18:27Speaker 1: your opinion on. K-State at home hosting Tulane. I'm not
- 18:33Speaker 1: overwhelmed with Tulane yet. And this Kansas State team last week,
- 18:36Speaker 1: I was impressed with. I think Colin Klein's kind of
- 18:38Speaker 1: figured out what he's got with Avery Johnson. And I
- 18:41Speaker 1: think Avery's going to keep taking some shots. I think
- 18:45Speaker 1: we've got to keep our eye on this year's K-State team.
- 18:48Speaker 1: I think he's got the right coach and the right
- 18:50Speaker 1: leader in this one for Avery Johnson's fit. And Klein
- 18:53Speaker 1: knows what to do because he was him years ago.
- 18:56Speaker 1: And so I haven't decided if I'm going to lay
- 18:59Speaker 1: 21 here, but I'm interested in this game. I think
- 19:02Speaker 1: Kansas State is going to do some things.
- 19:06Speaker 2: Yeah, I think K-State will be– this will be an
- 19:09Speaker 2: interesting game. This is not this. I may not get
- 19:14Speaker 2: involved in this game, but definitely going to watch this game.
- 19:18Speaker 2: I think K-State, as you said, is better than I
- 19:22Speaker 2: than I thought they were going to be. Klein looks
- 19:24Speaker 2: like he's off to a good start. Avery Johnson looks comfortable,
- 19:27Speaker 2: which is which he has not looked comfortable. And really,
- 19:30Speaker 2: he didn't look comfortable all of last season. And even
- 19:35Speaker 2: starting when they played in Dublin early in the season.
- 19:37Speaker 2: So I think he's back comfortable playing the player that
- 19:41Speaker 2: we expected to have even last year. So this is
- 19:44Speaker 2: going to be an interesting game. I just don't think
- 19:45Speaker 2: Tulane is very good. They are riding the previous two
- 19:49Speaker 2: or three, four years' success. I think people have not
- 19:53Speaker 2: caught on yet that this is a more traditional Tulane team.
- 19:58Speaker 1: Yeah, I'm with you on that. I'm not going to
- 20:00Speaker 1: play it, but I like what we've got going into
- 20:02Speaker 1: that one. But the one game I will get involved
- 20:04Speaker 1: in at 11 o'clock, Bill Belichick traveling to Clemson to
- 20:08Speaker 1: play The old Dabo. Dabo, if you didn't watch this
- 20:12Speaker 1: game last week, lost the quarterback, Visnia, with an injury.
- 20:17Speaker 1: Had to bring in the freshman kid. And freshman kid
- 20:21Speaker 1: did not look like he was ready for big-time football,
- 20:23Speaker 1: in my personal opinion. And then Dabo doubled down on that.
- 20:26Speaker 1: I don't know if you saw that in the postgame.
- 20:28Speaker 1: But came out and said, you know, well, it wasn't
- 20:30Speaker 1: just the injury. We probably needed to make a change here.
- 20:33Speaker 1: So he's already kind of yanked the confidence level away
- 20:36Speaker 1: from his senior quarterback that's been sitting on the bench
- 20:38Speaker 1: for the last several years to roll in with this freshman.
- 20:41Speaker 1: So we're going to get a freshman starting at home.
- 20:43Speaker 1: I think it's about to get real pear-shaped in Clemson.
- 20:46Speaker 1: I think he's going to lose the crowd. There's a
- 20:48Speaker 1: ton of tickets that are left for this game Saturday morning,
- 20:51Speaker 1: which Clemson has been sold out since Dabo started rolling
- 20:55Speaker 1: this thing. And so we're going to get a true
- 20:57Speaker 1: freshman quarterback that's going to have to start a game
- 20:59Speaker 1: against a Bill Belichick scheme defense. How do you think
- 21:03Speaker 1: that's going to work out? Give me the three points.
- 21:05Speaker 1: Give me the three and a half in North Carolina.
- 21:07Speaker 1: Let's get some money line going here, baby. I love
- 21:10Speaker 1: Chapel Bill right here in this spot.
- 21:13Speaker 2: Yeah, I agree with you. I think the defense is
- 21:15Speaker 2: going to be the difference here. You know, Clemson has
- 21:19Speaker 2: some skills still on the outside, but can they get
- 21:21Speaker 2: them the football? That's that is the question. And I
- 21:24Speaker 2: think this defense was significant, significantly improved when we watched
- 21:30Speaker 2: them even in Dublin. That's continuing as as we progress.
- 21:34Speaker 2: I expect Belichick to give them all they want and
- 21:38Speaker 2: are a live dog this weekend. Yeah.
- 21:42Speaker 1: Anything in Arizona State, Kansas? That's the other 11 o'clock
- 21:45Speaker 1: game of note.
- 21:47Speaker 2: You know, I feel like Arizona State's going to win
- 21:49Speaker 2: that game and cover that number. I was not impressed
- 21:53Speaker 2: with Kansas last week. Mizzou took it to their ass.
- 21:58Speaker 2: And I was impressed in a pretty heavy loss in
- 22:03Speaker 2: a cover for the Aggies. I thought Arizona State looked
- 22:09Speaker 2: pretty good, especially early in the football game. Now, they
- 22:11Speaker 2: have trouble throwing the ball down the field. And that
- 22:15Speaker 2: A & M defense gave them problems, but I was
- 22:18Speaker 2: underwhelmed with Kansas. So I think you're probably looking at
- 22:21Speaker 2: Arizona State in this game.
- 22:22Speaker 1: A couple games in the 230 slot. You got Kentucky
- 22:27Speaker 1: traveling down to College Station. It's going to be another
- 22:30Speaker 1: hot game there. A & M' s laying 16-and-a-half over under,
- 22:33Speaker 1: and this one's 49-and-a-half. First glance at this, if you
- 22:37Speaker 1: really start digging into this game with Kentucky, Kentucky had
- 22:40Speaker 1: to play Alabama last week. Great play. great game day
- 22:43Speaker 1: environment in Kentucky. I mean, stadium was sold out. They
- 22:47Speaker 1: were hyped, ready to rock and roll. And Bama came
- 22:50Speaker 1: in and just absolutely wore them out as the game
- 22:53Speaker 1: went on in that one. It just became evident that
- 22:55Speaker 1: Kentucky didn't have the dogs to get it done there.
- 22:57Speaker 1: The other thing is, is I think that Kentucky's trying
- 22:59Speaker 1: to hide the quarterback, Minchie. If you go dig into
- 23:04Speaker 1: his analytics on his passing, he's 14 for 14 on
- 23:08Speaker 1: passes thrown behind the line of scrimmage this season. He's
- 23:10Speaker 1: 50% on passes thrown past the line of.
- 23:13Speaker 2: Scrimmage this season.
- 23:14Speaker 1: My point is the Aggie defense is not one that
- 23:17Speaker 1: you're going to make success on going side to side.
- 23:20Speaker 1: You've got to go down field on these guys. And
- 23:22Speaker 1: I don't know that he's going to be able to
- 23:23Speaker 1: do that. I don't necessarily know that I want to
- 23:25Speaker 1: lay 16 and a half with Marcel Reed, but I
- 23:28Speaker 1: would lean in that direction. If I could get something lower,
- 23:31Speaker 1: I haven't been a college teaser in a long time,
- 23:34Speaker 1: but if I can get something, it wouldn't get you
- 23:35Speaker 1: to a key number, but If I had a little
- 23:38Speaker 1: more confidence in Marcel Reed, I would probably lay it
- 23:41Speaker 1: here just because I like that defense so much. But
- 23:43Speaker 1: that's my two cents worth. I don't know where you're
- 23:45Speaker 1: at there.
- 23:46Speaker 2: I think the Aggies are going to crush these guys.
- 23:50Speaker 2: I think they'll cover the number. If you tease it down,
- 23:52Speaker 2: I think you're definitely going to cover it. I just
- 23:54Speaker 2: don't think Kentucky's got the horses. I mean, I don't.
- 23:57Speaker 2: It is. Unless you are bringing a ton of guys
- 24:00Speaker 2: with you when you take over a job, it is
- 24:03Speaker 2: hard to build a roster year one. We watched it
- 24:07Speaker 2: with Jeff Levy. I think you're going to see it
- 24:08Speaker 2: with Will Stein this year. It's hard to build a really,
- 24:13Speaker 2: really competitive roster your first year unless you're bringing players
- 24:16Speaker 2: with you. So I just think that's what he's struggling with.
- 24:21Speaker 2: And I don't think they got the horsepower to keep
- 24:23Speaker 2: up with the Aggies.
- 24:25Speaker 1: Staying in that same slot, Scott, we've got a revenge game.
- 24:28Speaker 1: Alabama's laying 19-and-a-half over under. Here's 48-and-a-half playing Florida State.
- 24:34Speaker 1: If you don't remember this, last year Bama opened up
- 24:37Speaker 1: in Tallahassee and really embarrassed themselves in that first game
- 24:41Speaker 1: and had to dig out of that for most of
- 24:42Speaker 1: the season before they finally got to the college football playoff.
- 24:46Speaker 1: You look at this game here, I think, Keelan, this
- 24:48Speaker 1: is an interesting game to me. You've got a big
- 24:50Speaker 1: number in 19-and-a-half. Florida State's quarterback situation is awful. He
- 24:56Speaker 1: holds the ball. I think I read this morning he
- 24:58Speaker 1: holds it for almost four seconds. He's at 3.8 seconds
- 25:00Speaker 1: before release. That's the longest release time of any quarterback
- 25:03Speaker 1: in the country. But on the flip side of that,
- 25:06Speaker 1: I haven't been overwhelmed with Keelan Russell either. And so
- 25:09Speaker 1: I don't know that I want to lay a big
- 25:10Speaker 1: number here, but I could definitely see Alabama wanting to
- 25:14Speaker 1: get retribution from last year's embarrassment, especially at home. And
- 25:19Speaker 1: it's about to get real hot. in Norvell's chair if
- 25:22Speaker 1: it's not already on fire at this point. Because I'm
- 25:25Speaker 1: pretty sure they've already fired the athletic director. They fired
- 25:28Speaker 1: him on Tuesday or Monday or Tuesday this week. And
- 25:31Speaker 1: I got to imagine coming up here in a week
- 25:32Speaker 1: where you've got that bye week that Norvell may be–
- 25:35Speaker 1: he may be moving out of town too.
- 25:38Speaker 2: Yeah, that's entirely possible. I know this, that they– when
- 25:44Speaker 2: you lose home football games and you get four turnovers–
- 25:49Speaker 2: from your opponent and you don't turn it over and
- 25:52Speaker 2: you still lose, you're not very good. And I think
- 25:56Speaker 2: that's the data point we have from FSU. And look,
- 26:01Speaker 2: I thought Look, you're going to see Bama's quarterback just
- 26:05Speaker 2: get better every week. I mean, because he's a super
- 26:07Speaker 2: talented kid. That kid is a great athlete. He's got
- 26:11Speaker 2: a good arm. What I do like that he's doing
- 26:14Speaker 2: is he's trying to find his playmakers. I mean, is
- 26:16Speaker 2: he locking in on some guys 100%? But throw it
- 26:20Speaker 2: to your dudes. This isn't complicated. Go let your dudes
- 26:24Speaker 2: be a dude, and he's doing that. That freshman running
- 26:27Speaker 2: back's really good for Bama. He'll obviously, the sophomore's a
- 26:30Speaker 2: good back as well. So I think Bama wins this game.
- 26:34Speaker 2: I think they probably cover as well. But as you said,
- 26:38Speaker 2: are we going to get the first half Alabama we
- 26:40Speaker 2: got last week? If we do, that may not cover
- 26:42Speaker 2: this big number.
- 26:44Speaker 1: Yeah, I don't know if I'll get involved with it.
- 26:46Speaker 1: Who knows? Maybe I'll end up with my first college teaser.
- 26:49Speaker 1: Give me some bailing. Give me some ID that I
- 26:52Speaker 1: haven't gotten there yet. SC traveling to Piscataway, possibly the
- 26:56Speaker 1: furthest you can travel this year, I think. I would
- 27:00Speaker 1: lay the team total with SC anything under– if you
- 27:04Speaker 1: can get anything under 42, I think you could. I
- 27:08Speaker 1: might lay it there. I don't know if I want
- 27:10Speaker 1: to lay on that defense, but it's playing better than
- 27:13Speaker 1: they have been. But Rutgers is just a disaster. And
- 27:16Speaker 1: so you're only– if this game started at 11 a.m.,
- 27:19Speaker 1: I might take Rutgers in the first half. But with
- 27:22Speaker 1: it starting at 230, I kind of think that Lincoln
- 27:26Speaker 1: Riley is going to get the monkey off his back
- 27:28Speaker 1: and win an East Coast game here. But that's my
- 27:30Speaker 1: two cents.
- 27:32Speaker 2: He doesn't win this. He ain't ever going to get
- 27:34Speaker 2: it off his back.
- 27:35Speaker 1: He doesn't win this.
- 27:36Speaker 2: He's done.
- 27:37Speaker 1: It covers this. Another 230 game I got. You got
- 27:40Speaker 1: a lot of great games at 230. SMU traveling to
- 27:43Speaker 1: Louisville in this one here. SMU is 2-0. Louisville's 1-1. Obviously,
- 27:47Speaker 1: the game most people got to see was them playing
- 27:49Speaker 1: Ole Miss to open up the season. Louisville's laying 1-1
- 27:53Speaker 1: at home. Over under here is 59-1. They're suggesting that
- 27:56Speaker 1: we're going to get a little bit more of a shootout.
- 27:59Speaker 1: You got to play here.
- 28:01Speaker 2: Yeah, I like Louisville, minus 1-1. I just think they're
- 28:03Speaker 2: a good football team. I think the home field's going
- 28:05Speaker 2: to be the difference. And I think they beat a
- 28:07Speaker 2: good SMU football.
- 28:11Speaker 1: I do, too. I like Louisville here. I like the
- 28:14Speaker 1: coaching advantage I think you're going to get with Braum
- 28:16Speaker 1: being at home. I also think Lincoln Kienholz, he's a
- 28:20Speaker 1: dog a little bit. And he's their leading rusher currently.
- 28:25Speaker 1: And so I like what you're going to get from them.
- 28:27Speaker 1: I'm pretty excited about it. Jennings is fun, too. But
- 28:29Speaker 1: Jennings isn't really a running quarterback as much as he
- 28:32Speaker 1: is more of a if the play breaks down, scramble
- 28:34Speaker 1: type of situation. Give me Louisville, minus one and a half.
- 28:37Speaker 1: Let's get that one on the board, Scotty. Uh, moving
- 28:40Speaker 1: on now, we've got a couple more here, Indiana, Western Kentucky,
- 28:44Speaker 1: you're going to lay 44 and a half with Cignetti.
- 28:47Speaker 2: I'm not, but I will tell you this probably in
- 28:49Speaker 2: the bad bet. They've got to hang a big number.
- 28:51Speaker 2: This is, this is our test deal. And you got
- 28:55Speaker 2: Georgia who's just beat the dog out of these guys
- 28:57Speaker 2: a couple of weeks ago. And here we, here comes Indiana.
- 29:01Speaker 2: Indiana's got to hang a big number. You know, or
- 29:03Speaker 2: you start sliding into poles. And I know it's a
- 29:06Speaker 2: long season, but these guys don't have the hard schedule
- 29:11Speaker 2: that some of these teams have got. They got to
- 29:14Speaker 2: win these games. They got to win them big. And
- 29:17Speaker 2: especially when you got another national title contender, national seed contender,
- 29:21Speaker 2: that's already that you're going to have a common opponent with.
- 29:24Speaker 2: You better beat the brakes off of them.
- 29:27Speaker 1: Oh, yeah, I agree with you. I'll tell you, things
- 29:29Speaker 1: have changed, Scott. The get-in ticket price for the Indiana-Western
- 29:33Speaker 1: Kentucky game is $ 73 on the aftermarket. The get-in price
- 29:38Speaker 1: for the Clemson-North Carolina game is $ 29. Wow. You'd think
- 29:44Speaker 1: the fans at Clemson are just a little worn out
- 29:46Speaker 1: of Old Devo at this point. And it's like, well,
- 29:49Speaker 1: maybe we won't get up and go out to the
- 29:51Speaker 1: game there. Wow. Same slot, 3 o'clock, Stanford playing Duke
- 29:56Speaker 1: in the Nerd Bowl. Duke's 2-0, Stanford's 1-1. Both of
- 30:00Speaker 1: these teams are much better than I thought they were
- 30:02Speaker 1: going to be. I'm tempted to take Stanford getting 9.5.
- 30:05Speaker 1: I'm going to have to dig more into this one,
- 30:07Speaker 1: but Manny Diaz, dude, you've told me about this for years.
- 30:12Speaker 1: That guy is a fucking wizard of a coach, I think.
- 30:15Speaker 1: I don't know if he's going to move on to
- 30:16Speaker 1: a bigger position than Duke, but God, he does good
- 30:20Speaker 1: things for me. I mean, just he gets it done.
- 30:24Speaker 2: He's doing a good job of Duke. That's no question
- 30:26Speaker 2: about that. I mean, he has got him back after
- 30:29Speaker 2: really getting, you know, getting rated, especially losing Mensa, you know,
- 30:35Speaker 2: and coming back and just putting another team together. He's
- 30:38Speaker 2: done a nice job with it, and obviously the defensive
- 30:41Speaker 2: side of the ball helps him a ton.
- 30:44Speaker 1: Uh, Baylor law tech lines, 19 and a half. I
- 30:48Speaker 1: bet law tech takes a lot of steam in this one,
- 30:50Speaker 1: just because everybody's just going to know what the score
- 30:52Speaker 1: was last week in that, uh, LSU game. Keep in
- 30:55Speaker 1: mind law tech benefited from three first half interceptions in
- 30:59Speaker 1: that one.
- 31:00Speaker 2: Yeah.
- 31:02Speaker 1: And so they couldn't do a whole lot with it.
- 31:04Speaker 2: Baylor.
- 31:05Speaker 1: I'm assuming lagway is going to come back at quarterback,
- 31:07Speaker 1: but Baylor did lose probably their best defensive tackle last
- 31:10Speaker 1: week to a broken leg. So that's going to hurt him.
- 31:13Speaker 1: I'm not into laying 20 points with Baylor to cover
- 31:16Speaker 1: against La Tech. If the steam hits that thing, I
- 31:18Speaker 1: might come back. If La Tech gets involved, I might
- 31:22Speaker 1: find Baylor. If I get him under 17, not there yet.
- 31:24Speaker 1: Game I'm interested in, Scott, give me the road dog, baby.
- 31:28Speaker 1: Super Camario headed up there to Columbia to play in
- 31:32Speaker 1: South Carolina. South Carolina is laying four here over under
- 31:35Speaker 1: 58 and a half. I've watched both these teams play
- 31:40Speaker 1: every game so far, and I can tell you this much, man.
- 31:42Speaker 1: South Carolina, I don't know what they're doing. Here's my
- 31:46Speaker 1: opinion on this. I'm interested to hear if you think
- 31:48Speaker 1: I'm wrong. Lenore Sellers, his first year that came out,
- 31:52Speaker 1: no one knew what we had, and they let that
- 31:54Speaker 1: kid be an athlete. He did a lot of outside-the-pocket stuff,
- 31:58Speaker 1: used his legs, everything else. Year two, offensive line wasn't
- 32:02Speaker 1: as good. He wasn't as.
- 32:03Speaker 2: Good, all right?
- 32:05Speaker 1: You've still got Nick Harper out there at wide receiver
- 32:07Speaker 1: that makes the freak list every year. But he hasn't
- 32:11Speaker 1: really done much. And I just don't know where we're
- 32:13Speaker 1: going to go with this. I like Mississippi State getting
- 32:16Speaker 1: four here. I think the defense is going to scheme
- 32:20Speaker 1: up something that's going to not let Lenora Sellers beat them.
- 32:23Speaker 1: I think they're going to try to make that kid
- 32:24Speaker 1: beat him with his arm. I don't know if he
- 32:26Speaker 1: can do it. And on the flip side of that,
- 32:27Speaker 1: Mississippi State, I think getting that road win for them
- 32:30Speaker 1: last week– and I know this is back-to-back road games,
- 32:32Speaker 1: not my favorite– But I think getting that road win
- 32:35Speaker 1: is a big deal for this team. You've got to realize, like,
- 32:38Speaker 1: a lot of confidence here, learning to win, learning to win.
- 32:41Speaker 1: We've talked about this. I know they're your squad, but
- 32:44Speaker 1: I even saw it last year. This team was better
- 32:46Speaker 1: than their record last year. We kind of thought this
- 32:48Speaker 1: team would be better than their record this year. I
- 32:51Speaker 1: think this is a chance for them to start the
- 32:52Speaker 1: season 3-0. I think they're a live dog. Give me
- 32:55Speaker 1: the Bulldogs.
- 32:55Speaker 2: I think they're a live dog. The interesting matchup here
- 32:58Speaker 2: to me is Kendall Briles and Jeff Lebby, brother-in-laws. You know,
- 33:03Speaker 2: that is an inside, a game inside the game, I
- 33:09Speaker 2: guess I should say, that is really unique. Obviously, Browse
- 33:13Speaker 2: understands this offense and what Levy's trying to do very intricately.
- 33:18Speaker 2: And I do think that helps South Carolina. South Carolina,
- 33:23Speaker 2: I think, is going to rely on their defense a lot,
- 33:26Speaker 2: but State can score. I mean, that really is the
- 33:29Speaker 2: bottom line. But at the end of the day, When
- 33:32Speaker 2: State doesn't give up 21 points, they win football games.
- 33:36Speaker 2: I mean, that's the bottom line. I mean, Levy's going
- 33:40Speaker 2: to score some points. He scores on pretty much everybody.
- 33:44Speaker 2: And with Taylor, I think it's just that much easier
- 33:47Speaker 2: for them to score. This is a very balanced team.
- 33:50Speaker 2: The offensive line is significantly better than last year, and
- 33:54Speaker 2: I felt like that was a big part of it.
- 33:58Speaker 2: I believe that State's going to go on the road
- 34:00Speaker 2: and get the win, but I certainly like it when
- 34:02Speaker 2: you're getting four points, three and a half, four points,
- 34:06Speaker 2: depending on what book you're in. So, yeah, I'm with you.
- 34:08Speaker 2: I like Mississippi State here, but I think they are
- 34:10Speaker 2: a live dog as well.
- 34:12Speaker 1: Give me some, buddy. I'm excited. I love being some
- 34:15Speaker 1: live dog. I mean, let's go. Florida-Auburn, this is a
- 34:20Speaker 1: great game, man. Florida, both these teams have brand-new coaches.
- 34:24Speaker 1: Both of these guys have actually played each other. Both
- 34:27Speaker 1: of these teams come in two and O both of
- 34:30Speaker 1: these programs are full of a lot of hope and
- 34:33Speaker 1: excitement moving forward that built on the fact that they're
- 34:35Speaker 1: kind of hoping this is going to get them back
- 34:38Speaker 1: into being relevant. Florida's laying two and a half at Auburn.
- 34:43Speaker 1: I don't know where I am on this game. I
- 34:45Speaker 1: haven't played it yet. I kind of lean Florida minus two,
- 34:49Speaker 1: two and a half is what my numbers tell me.
- 34:51Speaker 1: I don't know from a quarterback perspective on what we're
- 34:54Speaker 1: going to get out of Auburn. I, I trust Philo
- 34:57Speaker 1: more than I trust the Auburn quarterback situation. I would
- 35:01Speaker 1: lean Florida here, but I don't have a play.
- 35:05Speaker 2: I will tell you, I just don't. I think two things.
- 35:08Speaker 2: I think that Auburn didn't really give Summerall much of
- 35:11Speaker 2: a look. It's really kind of in his crawl a
- 35:14Speaker 2: little bit. So I think he's going to be fired up. Look,
- 35:17Speaker 2: his wife is an Auburn grad. I think he's probably
- 35:23Speaker 2: kind of pissed off he didn't get this job. or
- 35:26Speaker 2: at least get offered this job. And they didn't really
- 35:30Speaker 2: look at him. I think they're going to play pissed off.
- 35:34Speaker 2: And I think Florida may come in there. I just
- 35:38Speaker 2: feel like Goldish just has– he's got a douchebag factor
- 35:43Speaker 2: to me, and I don't know what it is. Like
- 35:46Speaker 2: I don't really– because I don't know that he's really
- 35:49Speaker 2: done anything to– I mean, I remember the handshake deal
- 35:52Speaker 2: with– What's his name when he was at FIU? I
- 35:55Speaker 2: don't really care about that. It's just, I don't know.
- 35:58Speaker 2: I don't know what it is about him. Maybe it's just,
- 36:01Speaker 2: it's cocky, arrogance, bravado. I'm not really sure, but hell,
- 36:05Speaker 2: most of these coaches are that way. And Summerall's the
- 36:09Speaker 2: exact opposite. Just as seems like a great dude, intense.
- 36:13Speaker 2: I mean, he gets off the bus ready to go.
- 36:15Speaker 2: I just, at the end of the day, think he's
- 36:18Speaker 2: a better football coach. And I think that's what the
- 36:20Speaker 2: difference of this game is going to be.
- 36:22Speaker 1: I would completely agree with you on that one. I
- 36:25Speaker 1: like Florida here. Again, not involved. Not involved. But I
- 36:29Speaker 1: like Florida here. I like Summerall a lot. So we'll
- 36:32Speaker 1: see how it's going to go. I'm going to put
- 36:34Speaker 1: a pin in this. I'm not going to play it.
- 36:35Speaker 1: Georgia State plus 18.5. Keep your eye on Georgia State
- 36:40Speaker 1: this season. I may get involved in this one. I
- 36:41Speaker 1: think this team is a Sunbelt sleeper. Rolling on down
- 36:46Speaker 1: the board, Western Michigan comes down to Houston to play Rice.
- 36:50Speaker 1: After they pounded Monmouth and then got their nuts ripped
- 36:53Speaker 1: off in that last one there, Rice has no home
- 36:56Speaker 1: field advantage. For those of you that have not seen
- 36:58Speaker 1: a Rice game, it's a 75,000-seat stadium that about nine
- 37:02Speaker 1: people go to. And then Rice only runs the ball.
- 37:06Speaker 1: They do not pass hardly at all. And so the
- 37:10Speaker 1: over-under is 43-and-a-half. So my only fear in laying it
- 37:15Speaker 1: with Western in this one is does Rice line up
- 37:17Speaker 1: and have some 70-yard– eight-minute drive that just zonks the defense,
- 37:23Speaker 1: and Western's got to almost score in every possession to
- 37:25Speaker 1: discover two touchdowns. But I don't know. What are your thoughts?
- 37:30Speaker 2: Yeah, it tells you to take them, but man, that's
- 37:33Speaker 2: a big trip. It's going to be hot down in Houston. Boy,
- 37:38Speaker 2: it feels like Hard to bet on Rice because I
- 37:41Speaker 2: don't think they're very good, but that's the reason I'm
- 37:43Speaker 2: going to pass on this game. If anything, it feels
- 37:46Speaker 2: like the home dog in the points might be the
- 37:48Speaker 2: smart play just because of the heat and what you're
- 37:51Speaker 2: going to get in that ballgame.
- 37:53Speaker 1: Georgia Southern traveling to Jacksonville State. Jacksonville State's 1-2. Over
- 37:59Speaker 1: under here is 52-1. Jacksonville State's laying three. You got
- 38:03Speaker 1: any love for this game at all?
- 38:06Speaker 2: Not really. Jacksonville State's not very good. I do think that. But, no,
- 38:11Speaker 2: I don't really have anything in this game. If I
- 38:15Speaker 2: was taking it, I would probably take– I probably would
- 38:18Speaker 2: bet against Jacksonville State on a short number.
- 38:21Speaker 1: Let's get to the evening slot. Notre Dame at home
- 38:24Speaker 1: hosting Michigan State. Both these teams come in 2-0. Notre
- 38:27Speaker 1: Dame hung it on rice last week. Line here is 29-1⁄2.
- 38:31Speaker 1: Over-under is 52-1⁄2. You got any interest in taking this
- 38:35Speaker 1: one here?
- 38:36Speaker 2: No. You know I love Notre Dame. I think they're
- 38:38Speaker 2: one of the best teams in the country. I love
- 38:40Speaker 2: Marks Freeman, but no, there's other games I think are
- 38:44Speaker 2: better values.
- 38:46Speaker 1: LSU, Ole Miss. We talked about this one. LSU laying
- 38:50Speaker 1: three and bought Hemingway over-unders 58.5. It's one of the
- 38:54Speaker 1: highest totals on the board. This game's going to be
- 38:58Speaker 1: interesting to me. You know, Sam Levitt can do some
- 39:00Speaker 1: wild-ass shit, but he can also make some crazy mistakes.
- 39:04Speaker 1: You've got Trinidad Chambliss. Everybody's in love with this kid.
- 39:07Speaker 1: But if you go back and look at Ole Miss
- 39:09Speaker 1: this year, this year compared to last year, I think
- 39:13Speaker 1: the offense has taken a step back. And I would
- 39:17Speaker 1: lean LSU in this one. I don't know that I'm
- 39:20Speaker 1: going to get involved. If I get something under three,
- 39:22Speaker 1: I might. But I also don't think this game is
- 39:24Speaker 1: going to be– a long drive game. I think whoever
- 39:28Speaker 1: wins this game is going to win the Battle of
- 39:29Speaker 1: Chung plays. I think you're going to have some busted
- 39:31Speaker 1: coverages and some long touchdowns in this one. But I
- 39:35Speaker 1: got no official play here. I think LSU's defense is
- 39:38Speaker 1: fucking nasty. And if they win this game here, I
- 39:41Speaker 1: think it'll vault them into the top three or four
- 39:43Speaker 1: teams in the country. But same thing, Ole Miss, I
- 39:46Speaker 1: can't figure out if they're as good as what they
- 39:48Speaker 1: are yet. So we're going to find out. It's going
- 39:51Speaker 1: to be an electric environment. Game day is obviously going
- 39:53Speaker 1: to be there. 6.30 kickoff. It is going to be
- 39:56Speaker 1: wild in Oxford, Mississippi, Saturday night. You got anything for
- 40:03Speaker 1: me here?
- 40:05Speaker 2: Look, I'm going to take the Rebels and the points.
- 40:08Speaker 2: I think that place is going to be a zoo.
- 40:10Speaker 2: I think LSU probably is the better football team, but
- 40:13Speaker 2: I can't get out of my mind the way he
- 40:18Speaker 2: played and started the last year. Talking about LSU's quarterback.
- 40:23Speaker 2: Leavitt can blow up, and that is going to be
- 40:26Speaker 2: a wild environment. I mean, loud and crazy and rocking,
- 40:32Speaker 2: and you ask me, I think you're going to get
- 40:37Speaker 2: a great group from Ole Miss this weekend. I don't
- 40:41Speaker 2: think they're nearly as good as they were last year.
- 40:43Speaker 2: LSU's probably the better team, but I think this is
- 40:45Speaker 2: going to be a zoo. I think they stay within
- 40:47Speaker 2: the points. I don't I like I would definitely take
- 40:51Speaker 2: the points. This is I'm not going to go money
- 40:53Speaker 2: line on this, even though I think they obviously have
- 40:55Speaker 2: a chance on a line like this to to cover
- 40:58Speaker 2: home teams. Home team wins this game a lot. I mean,
- 41:01Speaker 2: I think under Kelly, the home team won every year. So,
- 41:06Speaker 2: you know, I'm basically looking I'm looking at that happening
- 41:09Speaker 2: again as as we go here. But I think the
- 41:11Speaker 2: Rebels are going to play well.
- 41:12Speaker 1: Yeah. A couple of other games you got in that
- 41:16Speaker 1: same spot, Scotty. Saturday evening, Colorado, Northwestern. You getting involved
- 41:23Speaker 1: in this one at all? You got Prime getting forward,
- 41:26Speaker 1: traveling to Chicago to play Northwestern. They're still on their
- 41:29Speaker 1: practice field, by the way.
- 41:31Speaker 2: Yes, I like I like prime here. I think they
- 41:34Speaker 2: stay again in this number and they've got a chance
- 41:37Speaker 2: to win this game. The four and a half is
- 41:39Speaker 2: the difference for me. Can I see this being a
- 41:42Speaker 2: 21-17 win? Yep. Can I see it being, you know, 24-21? Yep.
- 41:47Speaker 2: But I also think Colorado's got a chance to win
- 41:49Speaker 2: this game. I think you're going to get a very,
- 41:51Speaker 2: very similar game to what you got at Georgia Tech
- 41:54Speaker 2: in this ballgame.
- 41:55Speaker 1: Agree with you there. New Mexico traveling to Norman. Norman's
- 41:59Speaker 1: got to bounce back after last week, you know, in
- 42:01Speaker 1: that Michigan game there. They're laying 22-and-a-half against the New
- 42:04Speaker 1: Mexico squad. Give me New Mexico here, plus 22-and-a-half. This
- 42:08Speaker 1: line keeps creeping. I think the public will be heavy,
- 42:12Speaker 1: heavy on Oklahoma in this one because they're so used
- 42:15Speaker 1: to seeing New Mexico get their tails kicked. But this
- 42:18Speaker 1: New Mexico team is different. Jason Eck, he's a great coach.
- 42:22Speaker 1: He's going to have this team ready to rock and roll.
- 42:24Speaker 1: He's going to be up for it. Go back and
- 42:26Speaker 1: look at his record. Ever since he was even in Idaho,
- 42:29Speaker 1: when he's batched up against these power teams, he's actually
- 42:31Speaker 1: 4-0 against the number to cover here. Give me 22.
- 42:35Speaker 1: I would let this one roll, too. I would get
- 42:37Speaker 1: as much as you can get it, but give me
- 42:39Speaker 1: New Mexico plus 22.5 in this one. I don't think
- 42:41Speaker 1: they're a live dog, but they're slow, real slow pace,
- 42:46Speaker 1: like fourth slowest in the country. And so I think
- 42:49Speaker 1: they're going to just– drain as much as they can
- 42:51Speaker 1: off of that clock. And then again, from Oklahoma, I
- 42:54Speaker 1: don't know how explosive they're going to be. They're not
- 42:57Speaker 1: thinking it's going to be too much because the over-under
- 42:59Speaker 1: on this game is 46 and a half. And so
- 43:01Speaker 1: give me New Mexico plus the points.
- 43:04Speaker 2: Yeah, I agree with you. I think New Mexico comes in,
- 43:06Speaker 2: keeps this line in its number. This is a well-coached
- 43:09Speaker 2: football team. This is going to be a, it's going
- 43:11Speaker 2: to be a coach and coaching staff. It's going to
- 43:13Speaker 2: get some looks from some bigger schools when this season's over.
- 43:18Speaker 1: Only other thing I've got in pocket going into that
- 43:20Speaker 1: is Purdue traveling out to UCLA. Purdue last week lost
- 43:25Speaker 1: in double overtime against Wake Forest. It's probably going to
- 43:29Speaker 1: be one of their best chances to get a win
- 43:31Speaker 1: the rest of the season. Now they enter into conference play.
- 43:34Speaker 1: This game kicks off at 11 p.m. Purdue time, by
- 43:39Speaker 1: the way, out in California. Laying 14 with the Bruins.
- 43:44Speaker 1: Give me Bob Chesney and minus 14 points on this one.
- 43:47Speaker 1: I think UCLA is going to really give these guys
- 43:50Speaker 1: a trouble.
- 43:52Speaker 2: Yeah, I agree with you. I think UCLA is going
- 43:56Speaker 2: to put it on Purdue after a tough, tough game.
- 44:00Speaker 2: Tough loss last week. They got to go across the country.
- 44:03Speaker 2: I like our guys at UCLA getting it done.
- 44:08Speaker 1: That's all I got, brother. You got anything else this weekend?
- 44:11Speaker 2: Man, that's it. I'm the same way. That's a great board.
- 44:14Speaker 2: I'm excited about it. Looking forward to it. Can't wait
- 44:16Speaker 2: to watch a couple big games. Obviously, my Bulldogs will
- 44:18Speaker 2: have a big game. But, boy, that Ole Miss-LSU game
- 44:21Speaker 2: is going to be something else. I cannot wait. Cannot
- 44:26Speaker 2: wait to watch how just big of a fiasco that
- 44:30Speaker 2: thing's going to be.
- 44:31Speaker 1: I mean, you realize how many people are going to
- 44:33Speaker 1: get arrested at this game?
- 44:36Speaker 2: I mean, look, if they were playing– if they were
- 44:38Speaker 2: playing– Oklahoma drills in the, in the Grove last week,
- 44:43Speaker 2: we had videos of girls fighting and slapping each other
- 44:45Speaker 2: in the Grove. I mean, the red shirt and Miss
- 44:48Speaker 2: America's were a little aggressive last week. So we've got a,
- 44:52Speaker 2: we're going to really have a fiasco this weekend. So
- 44:56Speaker 2: I'm excited about it.
- 44:58Speaker 1: Oh my God. Underdog play of the week. Give me
- 45:01Speaker 1: North Carolina live dog in this one. They're getting three
- 45:06Speaker 1: and a half. I think this team is a complete
- 45:08Speaker 1: live dog. Who are we going to pair these guys
- 45:10Speaker 1: up with, Scott?
- 45:12Speaker 2: All right. You're going to make me do it. I'll
- 45:14Speaker 2: say my Bulldogs.
- 45:16Speaker 1: I think we take the Bulldogs. How about we do this?
- 45:20Speaker 1: We'll take the Bulldogs. We'll take the fight and build Belichicks.
- 45:25Speaker 1: And how about we take some prime? We'll take prime.
- 45:28Speaker 1: We'll do a three-leg money line round robin for 50
- 45:32Speaker 1: bucks each. That'll put us out some money there. And
- 45:35Speaker 1: then last but not least, we've got our one-unit futures
- 45:39Speaker 1: bet to win the national championship. Last week we split
- 45:43Speaker 1: a number between Miami and LSU. We can double down
- 45:50Speaker 1: on that or we can pump it in a different direction.
- 45:53Speaker 1: What are your thoughts there?
- 45:54Speaker 2: I am going to tell you that I think you
- 45:59Speaker 2: have a comeback like that and come back from three
- 46:01Speaker 2: touchdowns in the fourth quarter. against a program like Ohio State,
- 46:05Speaker 2: give me the Longhorns. That game can propel them and
- 46:08Speaker 2: give them some confidence, but it also gives them a
- 46:12Speaker 2: for-sure two-loss bump, and they still make the playoffs. And
- 46:17Speaker 2: when you get in the playoff, anybody's got a chance
- 46:19Speaker 2: at that, as Miami showed last year. Give me the
- 46:21Speaker 2: Longhorns for it this week.
- 46:24Speaker 1: Longhorns in there. Let me look at what the futures
- 46:26Speaker 1: are on that real quick. Hang on. What about Georgia?
- 46:32Speaker 2: Georgia's my other, but we're going to get so many
- 46:34Speaker 2: chances to play them again through the year, or that's
- 46:36Speaker 2: who I would have picked.
- 46:39Speaker 1: Well, let's see what the line is on both of
- 46:41Speaker 1: these teams real quick. I think you're still getting Texas.
- 46:44Speaker 1: You may still get Texas at 10-1. Either way, it's
- 46:47Speaker 1: going to be good. I like where we're headed here.
- 46:49Speaker 1: We'll take the Longhorns as our national championship, one-unit play
- 46:53Speaker 1: to get everything rolling. We may have to cut into
- 46:55Speaker 1: that a little bit and put some Georgia into it.
- 46:57Speaker 1: We'll see. Folks, give us some downloads. Give us some loves.
- 47:00Speaker 1: Give us some likes. We appreciate everything. Love y'all. Everybody
- 47:03Speaker 1: have a great week, and we'll talk to you next week.
- 47:05Speaker 2: All right. Thanks, buddy.
