Ozempic's Dark Secret: 3,500 Lawsuits, Deaths, and What Big Pharma Is Hiding w/ Kim Bright (Replay) · Man in America Podcast

• 0:13
Speaker 1: More than 3,500 federal lawsuits. That is the number of legal cases filed in The United States right now against GLP-one drugs like Ozempic, Wegovy, and Mounjaro. And that doesn't even count the thousands more that are piling up in state courts across Mounjaro the country. So about one in eight American adults are currently taking these medications. And the side effects?
• 0:37
They're not just stomachaches. We're talking about sudden vision loss, organ failure, stomach paralysis, mood disorders, hair loss, and in some cases, death. The FDA has even accused the drug makers of failing to properly report how many people have died, and most people don't even know that. My guest today is Kim Bright. She's the founder of Bright Core Nutrition, and here's what makes her different than most people talking about health right now.
• 1:04
She's been helping real Americans get healthy for over 50, not in theory or just sitting behind a desk. She's actually done it. She's walked alongside people who were sick, struggling, and looking for real answers and she's helped them find a way through. So while the pharmaceutical industry was busy selling Americans on the next miracle injection, Kim was already working on something much older, something that actually works, something that's rooted in how the body was designed to heal itself. So in this conversation, you're gonna learn how these GLP-one drugs actually work inside your body and why the weight loss that they promise may be destroying your bones, your muscles, and even your mind instead.
• 1:47
You're gonna find out what the gut microbiome actually is, why disrupting it is at the root of so much of what's making us sick, obesity, heart disease, diabetes, depression, cognitive decline, and a lot more. And you're gonna hear about a real natural solution that's been around for centuries, something that you can actually use yourself, something that supports your body instead of fighting against it. Welcome to Man in America, a voice of reason in a world gone mad. I'm your host, Seth Houlhouse. On this show, I talk to real Americans with real solutions to the real problems that we're facing today.
• 2:23
I help you connect the dots between the problems that we see in the present, with decisions made by powerful people in the past. Because once we understand how we got here and what the real history of America actually is, we can remember where we came from. We can really learn from the past, and we can make real change for a better future. And so before we start, please make sure you hit that like button. It helps a lot with the algorithm, whatever platform you're tuning in from.

• 3:19
I always enjoy our conversation. So thank you so much for being here.
• 3:24
Speaker 2: Well, thanks for having me back and ditto. We, you know, enjoy our everything that we cover and just our whole interaction. It's it's great. Thank you,
• 3:34
Speaker 1: Seth. It is. Of course. Of course. And so I'm really interested in today's topic, is these GLP-one drugs, right?
• 3:43
So Ozempic being the very well known drug, you say, Oh yeah, Ozempic. Oh yeah, it's that all these celebrities are losing weight, and it's this magic drug. And, but as usual, whenever you see this huge push for some massive money making thing tied to big pharma, there's a lot of the story that's not being shown, and so that's what we're gonna be getting into today. So I guess let's just start with the basics. What what's a GLP one drug?
• 4:11
What is Ozempic? How does it work? What's it do?
• 4:15
Speaker 2: Well, a GLP-one drug, there's a few out there called Ozempic, Wegovy, and Mounjaro. But I wanted to let people know, as of today, there's over 4,400 lawsuits that have been filed in The US alone regarding these drugs. And as GLP-one use moves from the niche treatment to mainstream phenomena, that number, Seth, is poised to rapidly increase. And these lawsuits, they're primarily focused on gastrointestinal issues that people are having and they are an unlabeled side effect of the drug. And there's an increasing number that is citing a wide variety of concerning health issues ranging from sudden vision loss to organ failure and sometimes even death.
• 5:02
And currently, there's thirty one million Americans taking these GLP-one medications. These GLP-one medications originally started with people that had diabetes, and then they're supposed to help you lose weight. But there's a whole story that we can get into behind this and all the bad side effects, some pretty tragic things happening.
• 5:22
Speaker 1: Okay. Good. You know, we'll kind of unpack it, as as we go along. So it's I wanna start with I wanna play just a short video. It's about, I think, about a minute and a half long of just someone this lady's specific experience with this.
• 5:35
So let me go ahead and pull that up.
• 5:37
Speaker 3: Juanita Gant struggled with her weight. At age 62, she weighed two hundred forty two pounds. Yet the most she could lose trying various diets, she says, was about 20 pounds.
• 5:48
Speaker 4: I almost felt defeated and humiliated. I mean, why couldn't I lose this weight?
• 5:52
Speaker 3: Then she saw ads for drugs including Ozempic. Her doctor agreed that because of her diabetes risk, she was a good candidate for one of those drugs and prescribed her Wegovy and later Ozempic, both GLP-one drugs made by Novo Nordisk. But several months later in October 2023, Gant's husband found her on the floor conscious. This photo was taken by her daughter, a nurse at the hospital where gant was taken.
• 6:20
Speaker 4: I had no idea what had happened to me.
• 6:22
Speaker 3: Doctors found parts of her large intestine had died. It had to be removed. Then while recovering from surgery, she went into cardiac arrest prompting the hospital to call her daughter to warn her her mother could die.
• 6:35
Speaker 4: I had no warning that this was even a possibility.
• 6:40
Speaker 3: She's now suing drugmaker Novo Nordisk, claiming its drug labels do not adequately warn patients and doctors about potentially serious side effects, including gastroparesis or stomach paralysis and bowel obstruction. Gantz says she wants others to know about her experience.
• 6:57
Speaker 4: This should not have happened to me. It just should not have happened to me. If it happened to me, it could happen to you.
• 7:03
Speaker 1: Wow. So, am I correct on her saying, based upon that, that her part of her large intestine died, allegedly from Ozempic. Is that correct?
• 7:16
Speaker 2: Yeah, that is correct. I mean, I feel horrible for this lady, Seth. I mean, part of her large intestine actually died, and that almost resulted in death. And what makes me feel even more sad is that this is just one of many stories. I mean, not only does it cause things like this, but it's sudden vision loss, stomach paralysis, complete organ failure, and now it's even being linked to mood and psychological disorders, like anxiety and depression, hair loss.
• 7:47
Speaker 1: So there it's being presented as this probably, okay, it's safe and effective way for a way of weight loss, but you're saying organ failure, vision loss, stomach paralysis, but even anxiety, depression, especially in women, pancreatic inflammation. I mean, it seems like it's not what they're telling us, right?
• 8:13
Speaker 2: Exactly. And there's even instances of sudden death, Seth. There was this gentleman, Rob Briggs, and he's perfectly fine. And then he takes this and then dies within hours of catastrophic internal bleeding. Now, they were able to resuscitate him, but he had severe brain damage so badly that his wife had to make the difficult decision to pull him off life support.
• 8:37
And then another woman comes to mind, Marsha Edenhof. Now, she had been taking Ozempic for only six months. And then she starts to develop severe nausea, persistent vomiting, and then within a few days, she chokes on her own vomit and dies. This is just horrific. And and now the FDA has even accused Novo Nordex of failing to report properly the deaths, how many cases of serious side effects are associated with this drug.
• 9:12
And the thing is let let me explain how this drug actually works in your body. I mean but first, do you do you have any idea where these GLP one, drugs originated from, Seth?
• 9:24
Speaker 1: Actually, yes. Because I've done so many interviews with Doctor. Brian Artis, and he's kind of the reptile venom guy that we've covered this a little bit. He was talking about how it's from, I think it's the Gila monster. It looks like Gila.
• 9:38
Exactly. But it's the Gila monster, right?
• 9:40
Speaker 2: Yep, it's from the Gila monster, and that's what gave them the idea. And it's not exactly from the Venom, but it gave the drug companies the plan on, Oh, how can we make it so people don't eat so much and they can lose weight?
• 9:58
Speaker 1: It's like, oh, maybe we'll just use reptile venom. There's I've got a short video. Can I play this real quick on this?
• 10:05
  Speaker 2: Sure. Sure.
• 10:06
Speaker 5: Okay. Gila monsters, an iconic creature of the Desert Southwest. And apparently, the scaly reptiles held the secret to modern weight loss.
• 10:17
Speaker 1: They have a slow metabolism, and they can go on two, three, four meals in a given year and usually do just fine.
• 10:26
Speaker 5: In the late 1980s, scientists started looking into a specific Gila monster gene.
• 10:32
Speaker 6: But I think later towards the end of 1990s, they discovered this specific protein and the Gila monster's venom, was able to potentiate the effects of insulin made by our own bodies. And you know that was that was the protein that they sort of used to then come up with. You know all these chilpies that we now had.
• 10:56
Speaker 5: Gila monster venom is a large part of what helps them go for long periods of time without eating. And though humans still need more than three to four meals a year, it is one of the effects of GLP-one drugs like Ozempic that have become quite popular for losing weight.
• 11:13
Speaker 1: You know, I like to just when looking at because the world has gotten so crazy, I like to just take a giant step back and just think, okay, what am I looking at here? As if I was, say, you know, an alien coming down to, like, observe the human race as some experiment. And I'd be like, okay. So these people, these human beings are they caught this poisonous lizard in the desert. They did they know what will kill them if it bites them, potentially.
• 11:46
And they're taking it, they're taking its venom, and they're mixing it up into a lab, and they're putting it into a needle, and they've built this billion dollar industry off of all these people that then inject that needle into them so they can lose weight and look good in their bikini, you know, on on vacation. Like, it it seems so absurd that this is, like, that's literally what's going on here. And then is they're like, oh my goodness. Wow. People are dying from this thing, or they're causing their intestines to die, or they're going blind.
• 12:16
It's like, Well, what think? You're just taking this venom and mixing it up in a lab and just shoving it into your veins. It's just kind of wild sometimes to look at how crazy our human world is.
• 12:29
Speaker 2: It is. And you know, this is what's inspired them, but I believe, and I'm not a chemist, but I believe they've duplicated synthetically the venom. They not can actually patent it then. Yeah. So you can't patent the Gila monster's venom, but you can patent synthetically made venom, yes.
• 12:49
So, the way that these GLP drugs are functioning in our bodies, they slow down the metabolism and our digestive process. And that's why the stomach paralysis, Seth, is so common because it's going to slow your digestion so much that it can actually stop working in some people. And essentially what it's doing is it's forcing anybody that takes it to go on a starvation diet. And then of course, if you're on a starvation diet, that leads to malnutrition. And then guess what?
• 13:19
When you don't have the right nutrition in your body, now you're going to have depression and anxiety because you're not getting the nutrients you need. Now, again, they said that here the Gila monster can live off of two, three, or four meals a year, and humans aren't meant to survive like that, two, three, four meals a year, like the Gila monster. But this form of weight loss, what happens is it causes you to lose more muscle than fat. Now, I'm 71 and I know the importance of maintaining your health while if you have to diet to try and lose some weight, you've got to do it the right way. You've got to lose it in a healthy way.
• 14:00
So then when you're doing it that way, three quarters of your weight loss is going to be fat mass. And if you lose 20 pounds, for instance, 15 of that should be the fat and five pounds should be lean muscle mass. But when they put the patients on these drugs, they do DEXA scans before and after. And this is something that the FDA did not even require the drug makers to do when they were getting these drugs approved, Seth. But a DEXA scan for people that don't know what that is, it's an advanced body composition test that will measure your body fat, your muscle mass, your bone density, and visceral fat, that awful toxic fat that gets around your organs and gives you a big belly.
• 14:43
And then unlike having you just step on a regular scale, that's only going to show your total weight. The DEXA scan actually gives that detailed breakdown and will allow them to see what your body's actually made of. So, makes it a much more accurate way to track your health and fitness progress. But here's what the scary thing is, one of the scary things with people taking this. Two thirds of the weight loss we're seeing is lean muscle mass in these patients taking these weight loss drugs.
• 15:17
And only one third is fat mass. So they're getting lighter, but they're getting fatter. And healthy weight loss, again, would be 25% lean mass, 75% fat. And now get this craziness. You thought that was crazy enough, Seth.
• 15:30
They've now actually come up with another drug that is going to now put the muscle growth back due to you taking these drugs that have attacked your lean muscle mass. So, now what they're doing is when you use these GLP-1s, now they've got the drug that's supposed to work by blocking the myostatin, which is a protein involved in inhibiting muscle growth. It just gets crazier and crazier. And this is what they do all the time. You take a drug, you develop another symptom, they got another drug for you, and this is how people get on so many drugs.
• 16:05
Speaker 1: If you could go back in time and buy oil before the world relied on it, would you? Of course you would, anyone would. So why aren't you buying silver right now? You see, the people who recognized oil early didn't just make money, they got ahead of one of the biggest economic shifts in history. And today, a similar opportunity is unfolding with silver, because silver is a lot more than just a precious metal.
• 16:29
It's a critical resource used in solar panels, electric vehicles, defense systems, AI infrastructure, and even these massive data centers that are powering our digital world and the surveillance grid. So while demand keeps growing, it's actually still affordable enough that the average American can start accumulating it right now. And that's why investors are turning to silver to protect against inflation and own one of the world's most important strategic resources. Don't be the person who looks back in ten years and says, I saw it coming, but I just didn't act. I'm sorry.
• 17:01
So visit goldwithseth.com and learn just how easy it is to own physical silver. Again, that's goldwithseth.com. And here's something a little extra. If you just mention my name when you reach out to Noble Gold, they're gonna send you a one tenth ounce of gold coin just as a thank you when you open a new qualified account. So again, that's goldwithseth.com.
• 17:26
It's just wild to, again, to look at this in from that remove kind of that far away perspective. And, know, I've I've done a lot of weight training and I've was, you know, been overweight at different points in my life. I've had to get back into shape and, and you learn if you're doing it the real way, which is monitor your diet, make sure you're eating properly, getting the right protein, right balance of things, you're not eating things like high fructose corn syrup or things that will damage your metabolism in ways that are kind of not supposed to happen anyway. But you have to maintain your muscle mass, and muscle also weighs more than fat. And so Yes.
• 18:06
There's been period of times where I'm looking in the mirror over the course of a couple of months, and I'm actually gaining weight, but I'm actually looking slimmer and fitter because that muscles or that fat is being replaced by the muscle. And the more muscle you have, the more it burns your fat. And so it's a really healthy cycle to get into. But if you look at this with these scans that they're showing that people are losing mostly muscle, like, that's for again, I'm not a doctor or anything, but as far as I understand, like, that's what you call malnutrition. Like, that's what happens when your body is is entering into a bad state.
• 18:42
If your body's eating its own muscles to fuel itself, that's like you're you're hitting your reserve tank and your gas, and and you're doing whatever it takes to keep going. Like, that's not a good sign.
• 18:54
Speaker 2: No, not at all. And the loss of that muscle mass, Seth, it leads to things like osteopenia, osteoporosis, and now we have something that is called Ozempic bones. Have you seen this?
• 19:07
Speaker 1: Yeah. Actually, I have a picture I'll pull up here. Well, yeah, there's your maybe that's your weight loss. Right? Is your bones or your bones are disappearing.
• 19:19
Speaker 2: Yeah. Your bones are disappearing. You're losing muscle. I mean, it is literally shredding your bones, and it's no longer a magic pill. It's actually doing stuff that's going to kill you.
• 19:28
There's a video of a 30 year old woman that went viral. Now, she was diagnosed with advanced osteoporosis after only using Ozempic for a year. Now, let me tell you, there's only one to two percent of the population at age 30 that has osteopenia or osteoporosis. So, this is not normal. I mean, even when you get to be 50, that's not normal.
• 19:53
So, you know, and then another thing they've got is Ozempic face. Have you seen this?
• 19:58
Speaker 1: Yeah. Yeah. It looks like, actually, here's a picture we've got of this, right?
• 20:05
  Speaker 2: That's right.
• 20:06
Speaker 1: You see it just Can
• 20:08
Speaker 2: you see how healthy they looked? Then there's hardly any fat in their face. I mean, I have to say the one in the middle, she looks better. But the other two, they look older. They don't look as healthy.
• 20:24
And what happens is Ozempic face is caused by the rapid significant weight loss from these GLP-one medications like Ozempic and Wegovy. And what happens is it causes the fat to vanish quickly out of your face. And then this sudden depletion is leaving the skin with reduced elasticity. It results in sagging. You have hollowed out cheeks, sunken eyes, and intensifies your wrinkles because the skin can't shrink as fast as the fat is disappearing.
• 20:54
And then we end up with something else that I don't know who would want to be around this, but something called Ozempic breath. And that's a term they're using to describe foul smelling breath, metallic taste in your mouth, fishy smelling burps. And this is being increasingly reported by those using these drugs. And that is not even crazy enough, but now we have Ozempic personality.
• 21:18
Speaker 1: So we've got Ozempic bones, Ozempic breath, right, which is yeah. Ozempic breath, here's a little write up on it, is the term coined for a fishy malodorous smell in one's burps or an overall experience of unwanted bad breath. While there is no clinical diagnosis for this exactly it's a side effect sometimes noted by those who are using semaglutide Ozempic or Wegovy injections to lose weight. It's like, what do you it's like, what at what point is it just not worth it? Right?
• 21:51
Mean, it's Ozempic's okay. We have Ozempic face, Ozempic bones, Ozempic breath, and now what else are you saying? Ozempic
• 21:58
Speaker 2: Ozempic personality. And what this is, this term is referring to a cluster of mental issues. That's depression, anxiety, an inability to feel pleasure now, a loss of interest in things that you normally enjoy doing, and actually giving you suicidal thoughts. I mean, this is so crazy. I mean, not only is Ozempic destroying your body, it's also turning people into Ozempic zombies.
• 22:24
Speaker 1: It's kinda crazy because and it's funny because growing up, my dad would joke about this often. But, you know, you know, when you grow up and you're watching or at least, for me, I grew up, you watch TV. And I no longer watch TV where you have commercials. Now it's just, you you watch a movie or something or whatever. But I remember these commercials would come on for these all the drugs, but then at some point, they were then required to list all the side effects on the commercial.
• 22:48
And so my my dad always joke about you'd have an anti anxiety drug. And if it, you know, it'd be the person they're showing, and they're, like, happy to cook out, they're smiling, and their kids are like, I love you, mommy. And it's just like life is beautiful. It says, okay, it's common side effects include, you know, this, that, but then one of the side effects would be, like, basically explosive diarrhea. Right?
• 23:08
You you might just have really bad diarrhea all of sudden. It's like, so you're telling me that you're trying to fix my anxiety, yet if there's one thing that's gonna make me socially awkward or full of anxiety, it's if I'm, like, thinking I'm gonna poo my pants when I'm at some barbecue. And it's just you you see these things, it's like common side effects this is this or death. It's just like oh my goodness.
• 23:32
Speaker 2: Yeah. It's kind of like, well, you know, I don't know how people get pulled into this vortex of thinking that these are things that are good to use instead of just realizing God gave us natural things to lose. And we already know how to naturally lose weight through things like diet and exercise that are actually good for our brains and our bodies. It just blows my mind that when somebody's advertising all those side effects that you would even be interested to even try it. But something that a lot of people don't know, Seth, there was a study done that showed that people who are obese, they're actually missing a couple of crucial probiotics within their gut.
• 24:13
And that people that are actually in a healthy weight range, they actually possess those in their gut. And then if you look at it, when you have these specific strains that they found in these studies in your gut, they make all the difference in the world between being obese or being normal weight or even being a little on the thin side. Now, centuries old food called kimchi, we've talked about kimchi, they actually have these specific probiotic strains that are missing in people that are obese or overweight. That's why these recent studies show how effective eating kimchi really is to go back and put those things in your body. And it really is incredible because this study shows kimchi's remarkable ability to maintain healthy body weight.
• 25:05
I mean, there was this preclinical study that showed a reduction of body fat by 31.8 in overweight individuals. Now, this research also showed a significant reduction of abdominal fat in women and even more so in men. That's that visceral fat that we talk about.
• 25:23
Speaker 1: That's the hardest one to get rid of if you're just doing
• 25:25
Speaker 2: diet That and is right. And sometimes it's not always due though to body fat that people have big bellies. They could have just so much gas going on and bloating from all the overgrowth of bad bacteria and parasites and yeast and molds. That could play a big role in what your waistline looks like. But kimchi has also been shown to significantly reduce that bloating because, again, it's putting in the family bacteria so you have better digestion and better regularity.
• 25:57
So, obesity then is not just a sign of being unhealthy. Obesity is just a sign of being unhealthy, but it's not the totality of our health because we have to focus on that gut microbiome that's playing that huge part in addressing the root cause of all of our health problems.
• 26:18
Speaker 1: Expand on this a little bit. Right? So you're talking about the gut microbiome, which is interesting because I recently interviewed a woman because her name is, is on a tip Stephanie Stephanie Sinef, I think, if you're familiar. So she's she's was been like an MIT researcher for fifty years. I mean, she's really, really highly intelligent.
• 26:41
But then about ten or fifteen years ago, she started really heavily getting into glyphosate. And so we did a whole interview, that was really focused on, just glyphosate, how it works, how what it does to your body. And what we found and what she discovered. And I felt it was actually really good because I was able to match a lot of her knowledge. Obviously, I'm not at her level, but I was like, Oh, yeah, the, the gut brain axis.
• 27:06
And I was, all these things I learned from you were relevant in that because she was explaining what glyphosate does to the gut and what it does to your gut bacteria, and how a lot of the things that are tied to it, such as, you know, cognitive issues in children, a lot of the other illnesses, it goes back to the damage that it does to your gut. And so when we're talking about the gut microbiome, why don't you just, expand on this a little bit more for us?
• 27:37
Speaker 2: Sure, sure. Most people don't understand the importance of that gut microbiome. And it starts when your mother gets pregnant and depending on what she's eating and what nutrients you're getting from the get go. A lot of people are not taking and eating the right nutrients when they're pregnant, and so their gut microbiome's not in good shape. So, they're going to pass on a gut microbiome that's not as healthy as it could be to their child.
• 28:07
And this is so important because I've seen babies that come out with what's called thrush. And they have a white tongue and it goes all the way down and they have diaper rash. So, all down the digestive tract because their gut microbiome's so out of balance, it has much more overgrowth of the yeast, the fungus that then provides, like you see there, the thrush. And that is an unhealthy gut microbiome from the get go when you're a baby. So, you're going to be more exposed to being sick, your immune system's going to be down more, you're going to have all kinds of problems that if you had a healthy microbiome, a balanced microbiome at birth, that you wouldn't be exposed to because you want that microbiome to contain a heavier count of the good probiotics than you do of parasites or the viruses or the fungals that I mentioned before, the yeast and things like that.
• 29:06
So, it's very important. Also, if your mother does not breastfeed you when you are a baby, you're missing out on all that healthy, good bacteria that's going to come out of the breast milk naturally that God's put there. So, when you're fed formula and if it's soy, it could have had a lot of glyphosate sprayed on it. And you get bloating with babies when you feed them soy. That's not what they're supposed to be eating when they're a baby.
• 29:38
You've got a lot of things that you're disrupting in the whole gut microbiome. So, from the get go, you're laying groundwork for an unhealthy gut microbiome. And that's why it's so important that people understand that the gut microbiome is where sickness starts or where your health starts. So, you want to put the emphasis on having that healthy gut microbiome, taking foods, eating foods all the time that will add to the good bacteria there and really put in all of those different species because it's not just a few species. A healthy gut microbiome has hundreds and hundreds and hundreds of different species of good probiotics.
• 30:19
And you also want to eat foods that are prebiotic, that's fiber. Most people don't eat enough fiber. That's considered prebiotic in order to feed the probiotics in your gut. And then you have the postbiotics, the metabolites that are formed that help aid in a bed. You're having healthy blood, then you have the good clean blood that's going around to all your different cells, your heart, your blood sugar, your brain, as we talked before.
• 30:50
So, it's vitally important that you have and maintain a healthy gut microbiome. Now, when you have disruptions in the health of your gut, you're going to trigger metabolic changes. That's when you're going to start enhancing the ability to have fat storage in your body, whether you're young or old. You're causing chronic inflammation. When you get that inflammation going, you now are going to have higher rates of heart disease problems, high blood pressure, diabetes, risk of cancer, cognitive decline like dementia and Alzheimer's.
• 31:28
And, there actually was a recent study, Seth, that showed the powerful cardiovascular benefits of consuming kimchi.
• 31:35
Speaker 1: So, this article right here, this is the effects of fermented kimchi consumption on anthropometric and blood cardiometabolic indicators. So, what are we looking at right here? What's this explaining to Well,
• 31:52
Speaker 2: it's explaining the triglycerides. Now triglycerides are lipids, certain types of fat. And what happens is when you consume food and if you're getting too many calories in, your body can only use so much and it stores the rest immediately as lipids, as these triglycerides. So, you're contributing to your fat storage. But when you add kimchi to your daily diet, and again, you take kimchi on a daily basis to keep that gut microbiome healthy, this study showed that it's helping balance your blood sugar, it's regulating blood pressure, and it's lowering bad cholesterol.
• 32:32
And these researchers attributed these metabolic and lipid lowering benefits to several specific mechanisms within kimchi itself. I mean, kimchi is a powerhouse of lactic acid bacteria, and that's helping modulate that gut microbiota. It's reducing the intestinal absorption of cholesterol and directly improves your lipid metabolism. And kimchi also contains these potent phytochemicals like allicin and capsaicin and quercetin that you also find in garlic and onions and things like this because a lot of times that is part of the kimchi. And these compounds are possessing such strong antioxidant properties that now you're going to see lower inflammation.
• 33:22
You're going to see your artery walls are protected and they prevent the fat buildup in your liver. And the lacto fermentation process that produces these types of bacteria also produces short chain fatty acids and organic acids that will help regulate how the body stores and breaks down these lipids, these fats. Now, at Bright Replay, our core philosophy of course is that our appearance is a reflection of our inner health. If we want to fix those issues that appear on the surface, like obesity, we have to start at the root cause. We don't start at a symptom like these GLP-one drugs do.
• 34:06
Speaker 1: We start fixing the surface, right?
• 34:08
Speaker 2: Well, so That's right.
• 34:09
Speaker 1: It's interesting because so as I've talked about all the time, I've got two little girls, right? I've got a two year old and a And five year I've got to learn so much about health and the human body just through watching them and shaping how we address any issues that they have. And it's almost like I get to almost redo, I think, a lot of things that went wrong in my childhood. It's like, you know, I grew up in the eighties and nineties where it was boxed cereal. No one was looking at the glyphosate level in your Cheerios.
• 34:39
Right? And so when you talk about the microbiome, so my two year old, she's still nursing, which is great. It's a and she's a healthy little baby. But I've noticed that one of the best indicators of both of my kids' health is the smell of their breath. And so I've learned to detect what I'm smelling, and I can see.
• 35:01
And what's interesting is that my little one who's still nursing, most of the time, the smell of her breath is this it's almost sweet. It's like Yes. It's it's not a bad smelling breath. It's just like her normal breath is it it's like this sweet, probably from a lot of the the milk, you know, her mother's milk, but It actually it's it's a pleasant smell, and I've learned to detect it. And so, like, also, that's what a healthy gut should smell like.
• 35:33
And I can notice that when she when she gets off, she gets a little sick or she gets a fever, there's some sort of infection, her her breath changes. It'll it'll actually start smelling sour or stale. And once once she gets back on track, you'll then see, oh, okay, her her healthy breath is back again. And so That's right. You know, it's like you kind of talking about, you know, your core philosophy at Bright Core is you you fix the appearance, you fix the external through the internal.
• 35:59
And so, it's the same thing with your breath. It's like you have bad breath, well, fix it through the internal. Don't get, you know, don't get some new, you know, Clorox, or not Clorox, but, you know, whatever the different, you know, kind of alcohol things are giving you to, you know was it list Listerine, I think? Yes. Yes.
• 36:16
Those products. It's like, don't focus on fixing the external. It's like, we'll fix your gut health, and that's gonna fix your bad breath.
• 36:24
Speaker 2: And those things don't even fix your bad breath because what they do is they kill all kill everything. And the
• 36:30
  Speaker 1: bad breath.
• 36:31
Speaker 2: It's not good to be using those things. And you know what? You're talking about the pH there because when the pH gets too acidic, then you have bad smells. And so, she's right in the center of the 7.2, 7.3 that you want your pH to be in the blood in the body. So, that is a good indicator.
• 36:52
Also, if you have babies that have no diaper rash, that also shows they're in good pH levels. But babies that get diaper rash are over acidic and their breath is going to smell bad too. So, as a mom or a dad, you can really just watch the outer indicators and go, Oh, this is what we did, or, She ate too much of this, so now we pull that back. And it's so great that you recognize those things and that you're aware of those things. And that is really what everybody needs to learn and start focusing on instead of running to pharmaceuticals and thinking, Oh, let's just put this in or put that in.
• 37:37
And it's not getting at the root cause. And the key to getting all of these benefits where your pH is in a good balance is that you have to consume kimchi on a daily basis. But the only problem is it's not something that's easy to eat every day. And so, that's why we created Kimchi One, which is a convenient capsule that you can use daily. We use a cold process drying method to retain all of the fiber and nutrition of the actual fermented kimchi.
• 38:08
And when I talked about that fiber earlier, remember that's the prebiotic that needs to be present in order to actually feed the probiotics that are in the kimchi. And there's virtually no sodium, unlike your store bought kimchi, 100% made in The USA. And we have all natural non GMO, soy free, dairy free, and gluten free. And so, this is why we started doing this. And a lot of people will say, and I know you've asked me this before, it's like, well, if I have a small child and kimchi doesn't taste good or they can't swallow capsules and things, there's ways that you can actually utilize this to help get it into the daily diet of younger children.
• 38:57
You to be crafty sometimes and open the capsule and mix it with something like maybe peanut butter and jelly and get it in there with a peanut butter and jelly sandwich. But there's ways to get it in or put it in some kind of drink. But you want to start early with kids to get their balance of that good bacteria in their gut because you'll have far less sicknesses. You will have these healthy children and it's so important to really understand that gut and brain connection, they're gonna learn easier. I mean, a lot of people out there, they say, Why eat sauerkraut?
• 39:39
Or, I drink kefir or yogurt. Again, I want to reiterate, those are great fermented foods, but sauerkraut, for instance, only has 28 different probiotics. Kimchi has over 900 different probiotics. This is going to give you a vast array of those different probiotics in your gut. So, it's very important that you get those good things in the gut every day.
• 40:06
Speaker 1: Well, I'm glad that you mentioned the how to eat it, right? Because we've experimented with this. And so, for our family, literally on our kitchen table, we have our salt grinder, our pepper grinder, and a bottle of kimchi one. And so that's just that's, like, literally so that's what we found is that because it's better to take it with food because it does have a it's like you you don't have to, but I find that there's a certain kinda aftertaste to it that's slight, that if you're on an empty stomach and you have it with water, you'll still kind of taste it a little bit. But what we do It's
• 40:40
  Speaker 2: a teeny bit.
• 40:41
Speaker 1: It's a teeny bit. Right? But if you eat it with your meal, just it's you don't even notice it. And so what we do is we have the capsules, and then so depending on what we're eating, say we're doing spaghetti bolognese. Right?
• 40:53
We'll take it, open a capsule up, and and and kinda sprinkle it as a seasoning on the girl's food. Now my five year old, she can actually now swallow capsules, and so it's easy for her. But that's one thing that we we just been doing is that it's also a good reminder for my wife and I because when I'm doing my morning, you know, kind of, you know, essential things and whatever I'm taking, you know, supplements and whatnot, It's if if it's on an empty stomach with my coffee, like, oh, I'm not in mood for my my kimchi yet. But then when I put it with the kitchen table, it's just as always there. So whatever we're eating, it's like, yeah.
• 41:27
Here. Pass pass that. Same way you're saying, hey. Pass the butter. Right?
• 41:30
Hey, pass the kimchi once. We literally just had it sitting on our table, right? And that's how we do it. That's how we make sure that we all keep getting it.
• 41:37
Speaker 2: That's great. And mix it in eggs. It's a very delicious like, when you eat the real kimchi, I mix it in eggs, I mix it in rice, I do all things like that, and it's delicious. But that's a great way to get it in for your kids. And there's so many successes that we've had that people will either call or write in after they start taking Kimchi One.
• 41:59
A lot of them said, I couldn't eat kimchi before. I couldn't stand it, but I can take the capsules. And I'm so happy because I've had problems my whole life with my digestion. I don't have those problems anymore. I'm regular.
• 42:14
It's just amazing. And then also bloating. We've got people that have literally dropped their waistline down because the bloating has gone down and those good bacteria are getting in there. So, they've lost weight in their waistlines. People that have problems with their immune system, you know this, 70% to 80% of the immune system is in the gut.
• 42:35
So, if you don't have that healthy gut, your immune system is not going to be as healthy as it could be. So, when people had a bad gut before they started taking the kimchi-one, well, they would get sick all the time. They would constantly have flus. And so, taking the kimchi-one, they're not getting sick anymore. People who experienced chronic fatigue, they didn't have energy.
• 43:00
All of a sudden, they have the energy again to go live life. People that were dealing with the brain fog, as we talked about that gut brain connection. Even as they were younger or older, their brain fog's lifted. They don't have problems with their mood anymore. They don't have the depression.
• 43:22
They don't have anxiety. They're now thinking clearly. They have a positive outlook. They're happy. Their serotonin levels have gone up.
• 43:31
So, it's really, really important that people understand taking it daily. I love that you have it on the table there, so it reminds you. And it's just great to know that you are taking that every day and that your children are being helped with it, too.
• 43:45
Speaker 1: We're doing our best. And so I know that we've got a special deal for the Man in America audience. Right? So walk us through how to order, what what you recommend for this.

• 44:55
Speaker 1: And we use the Revive in our drinks. So we have, my wife has a little kind of mushroom powder she's put together. And so in the evenings or, you know, at different times, we'll have that whiskey sitting over in our little drink area, your Revive collagen.
• 45:10
Speaker 2: The powder. You're using the powder. The
• 45:12
Speaker 1: powder one. Yeah. Yeah. With the little scooper. Now Yeah.
• 45:15
One question I have for you because I I've we've had enough interviews. I I think I've pieced together somewhat of an understanding of just your path of life. Very basic, obviously. Right? And so am I correct?
• 45:27
Because I know that you've been treating people and helping people and consulting other people's health for over fifty years. And so my question is, did you go through this process of trying to find health, understanding human body, understand health, which then led you to understand the importance of a healthy gut? And then did you start to understand the role of kimchi? Because if you look at what you do, your focus is very, very heavily on kimchi. So was that just your your journey of learning about the gut gut health, all of that, then learning about kimchi, then realizing that if you could do one thing for people, make kimchi convenient for the average American person that doesn't like the taste of kimchi most commonly, is that is that kind of how you got to where you are right now?
• 46:13
This is your most potent thing you could do for humanity?
• 46:16
Speaker 2: Yeah, well, I was raised on a typical American diet, and that was heavy in sugar, heavy dairy products, meat, Frisco, those breakfast cereals that you talked about that contain all the artificial flavors, artificial colors, glyphosate, not so much when I was younger, but definitely kept being added more and more as I grew up. But what happened was I was in Hollywood. I think I might have told you this story before, and I was modeling and acting. And I was drinking a lot of alcohol and I had a near death experience and then came out of that and was guided. I believe Holy Spirit guided me to understanding how my body really was made, how it's supposed to work, what it's supposed to run on, and I started down that nutrition path.
• 47:12
And so, what I did was little by little, I learned more and more and more about how the body really works, what kind of foods they were putting in our body or presenting us with, these over processed foods, and I just went down that whole journey. And then ultimately, never thought I would start a company, but I did thirty years ago. And I did it with wheatgrass juice that's called sweet wheat, we still have that. We were the first to do organic wheatgrass juice in a powder and as well as in a capsule. And that contains every single vitamin, all your minerals, live active enzymes, great for your digestion as well, but it really covered the whole area.
• 48:01
I was 25, before I started the company, I also took martial arts in Boston where I studied macrobiotics. And my martial arts teacher then was from Korea, he was the top black belt there. And I studied with he and his wife, and then I was also invited to dinner and it was my first taste of kimchi. Now, this is we're talking 65 ago or no, excuse me, not that. Sixty years ago, I can't do math right now in my mind, but I was like 25 and I went over there and I about fell off the chair eating kimchi for the first time and smelling it, and then I couldn't get enough of it in me.
• 48:43
So I knew about kimchi and I've been eating kimchi for over fifty years now and making it. But when we looked at how many people would actually do that in America, as I learned more and more and more, it was like we had to develop other things to help our core. And then all of a sudden, there was kimchi. Oh, it can be put in a capsule. We could get people really healthy with their gut taking Kimchi One every day.
• 49:12
So, again, that goes back now. We've had kimchi out there for years and years and years, and we were the first one to do that as well. So, it's one of those things that we are not a big corporation. As I said, I started thirty years ago. We are family owned.
• 49:32
We want to help people. Our bottom line was not ever my first thought. It was getting people healthy. And the money has come, which is nice because we're doing the right thing. And the same thing with Revive.
• 49:47
So many people eating all of this junk food, their bones are dissolving. Now they're taking these drugs. And so, we needed to do something to help people understand that your bones aren't just made of calcium, they're made of collagen. So, that's important as well. So, these three things are so important and vital to your overall health.
• 50:08
And again, I would love for people to experience the REVIVE capsules, call in and order some kimchi, be one of the first 100 callers and get your bones stronger, get your gut in order, and call that (888) 575-6488 number. And let's get your gut healthy, let's get your overall health healthy, get some sweet wheat while you're there too, and some, you know, the free collagen. So, that's the story.
• 50:39
Speaker 1: Well, it is. It's a great story. It's the American dream, you could say, the real American dream, Just, you know, working hard to serve to serve others, and, I think that you're you're repaid in the end. Right? That's just not to mention kind of the in the end.
• 50:54
It's like, Well, if you do good deeds, then you've got a good future ahead of you. But, yeah, it's great. It's great if you what you've done because the standard American diet, like, you know, for me growing up, sauerkraut was what you'd eat on New Year's Eve, right, or New Year's Day. Yeah. You'd be sauerkraut with the ribs that mom makes.
• 51:12
So we rarely ate sauerkraut, yet my my my daughter's just yesterday, I I my my daughter, my two year old, we had a big jar of of, sauerkraut, and what's happening now is that she'll just pull the jar over in front of her with her fork, and she'll be eating it like ice cream, sauerkraut. Right? That's the thing is that you you can you can train your children or even yourself. We can we can rewire these habits to understand that, hey, this taste, this fermented taste is really good for us. Kimchi
• 51:43
Speaker 2: is And a little your body will actually crave it, Seth.
• 51:46
Speaker 1: It will. Yes. Your body
• 51:47
Speaker 2: actually starts craving just like my first experience with the kimchi. I couldn't stand it at first. I was repelled and repulsed by the smell and the taste. And yet after I ate a couple of spoonfuls to be polite, all of a sudden, my body was just craving this food. And I was amazed.
• 52:05
Your body will let you know what's good for it
• 52:09
  Speaker 1: if you
• 52:09
Speaker 2: listen to it. Yeah. But it's so polluted these days. I'm sorry. So polluted with all of the bad things that people have had.
• 52:17
So it might take a few times, but your body knows.
• 52:21
Speaker 1: What's also interesting is I find that your body can also learn to crave the bad things, same as an alcoholic. Yes. If you build that habit of sugar, of say ice cream all the time, you'll you'll keep craving it more and more. But even I found that too, wife has watched how my diets changed. And, you know, now that we've got greens coming in, I made some really nice homemade Caesar dressing the other day.
• 52:44
And we'll go out to the garden, and I'll come in. We'll just have a huge pile of just fresh lettuce and sorrel and, you know, lamb's core. These things are growing naturally on our property anyway, mixed in with all the arugula and lettuces. And it's just, it's beautiful. It's just, it's wonderful just to actually enjoy it, but to crave it, right, instead of craving french fries.
• 53:06
It's just, it's a great place to get to.
• 53:08
Speaker 2: Exactly. I wish more people would do what you're doing and really understand, eat with the seasons, eat what's in season, eat locally, drink your water locally. And that's the way to get back on a good, healthy tract then nourish that gut. Just like you nourish your soil with compost so it grows healthy food for you to then eat and be healthy yourself and get the nutrients you need, you also need to nourish your gut just like your soil with those good microbes. And eating the kimchi every single day is going to put that diversity of over 900 different probiotics in your gut.
• 53:47
There's no other fermented food out there that can do what kimchi can. And that's why you know, we've made it into those capsules and made it easy for people.
• 53:57
Speaker 1: That's the key. Made it easy. So, here's the information. The description to the show will also have the links and phone number and everything in there. (888) 575-6488.
• 54:10
Calling is much better. Talk to a real person, not some AI agent or not some Filipino call center, real American people that want to help you. And, Kim, thank you. Thank you for it's it's always wonderful speaking to you. I always feel uplifted even though we talk about scary things.
• 54:26
And just thank you for what you're doing, and, thank you for making kimchi easy, even for me to eat. So which is which is a compliment.
• 54:35
Speaker 2: Bless you. Bless your family. And thanks for always having us on. We appreciate you.
• 54:40
Speaker 1: I really enjoy it. Thank you too.
