- 0:45Speaker 2: I am your host, Kiki Chanel, Award winning author, lifestyle blogger,
- 0:49Speaker 2: and owner of nineteen lifestyle magazine. You guys know how
- 0:54Speaker 2: I like to do. I like to give my guests
- 0:57Speaker 2: the opportunity to introduce themselves. So I'm going to turn
- 1:00Speaker 2: it over to her, and she's going to tell you
- 1:02Speaker 2: who she is and what she does.
- 1:04Speaker 3: So, Hey girl, Hey, hey girl, Hey, how are you doing.
- 1:08Speaker 3: Thank you for coming to Kicking with me today?
- 1:11Speaker 4: Oh, thank you so much. Key, I'm doing good.
- 1:13Speaker 2: Gray.
- 1:13Speaker 4: It's been a while, so it was definitely time that
- 1:15Speaker 4: we kicked it with my girl.
- 1:18Speaker 3: Yes, So tell her people who you are and what
- 1:20Speaker 3: you do.
- 1:21Speaker 4: I am author Terry Charrell. I'm an author, speaker, and
- 1:25Speaker 4: certified life and relationship coach. I am the author of
- 1:29Speaker 4: Live Learned Love with an Open Hearts, life lessons on
- 1:32Speaker 4: cultivating healthy and meaningful relationships. I am also a mother,
- 1:37Speaker 4: an educator, a youth pastor, and and ordained elder at
- 1:43Speaker 4: the City of Love Church in the Ornans.
- 1:45Speaker 3: I love it. I love it. I love the resume,
- 1:48Speaker 3: and every time we meet it gets longer and longer.
- 1:50Speaker 2: So I love it so today because we are in
- 1:56Speaker 2: the month of November and it's all about the house
- 2:00Speaker 2: days season, Thanksgiving is coming up and all the things.
- 2:03Speaker 2: This is my favorite time of the year because it
- 2:05Speaker 2: moves into my birthday, which is New Year's Day.
- 2:09Speaker 3: From November to January, I am in awe. I am
- 2:12Speaker 3: in the moment and living. I just come alive and
- 2:15Speaker 3: very festive. So we're talking about being thankful today. That's
- 2:19Speaker 3: our topic for discussion.
- 2:21Speaker 2: So when you hear the term being thankful, what does
- 2:26Speaker 2: that mean to you personally? And how has your understanding
- 2:30Speaker 2: of gratitude evolved over time.
- 2:35Speaker 4: When I hear the word being thankful, the first thing
- 2:39Speaker 4: that comes to mind is Thanksgiving, of course, but I
- 2:43Speaker 4: just think about life. Things are happening so quickly. You know,
- 2:48Speaker 4: life is life, and you know with everything going on
- 2:50Speaker 4: in the world. And it's funny you asked that question
- 2:53Speaker 4: as I was driving and coming home and I pulled up.
- 2:58Speaker 4: I'm a new homeowner. I purchased my first home in
- 3:01Speaker 4: June of this year. So I'm going to add that
- 3:04Speaker 4: thank you. I'm going to add that to my list
- 3:07Speaker 4: of things that I'm thankful for and grateful for, just life,
- 3:12Speaker 4: just having my five senses. It's been cold or cold
- 3:16Speaker 4: a few days, you know. Just grateful for food, shelter, clothing,
- 3:20Speaker 4: the basic necessities, and even beyond that, grateful for family
- 3:24Speaker 4: and friends. Grateful for a job, right, a career. Grateful
- 3:31Speaker 4: for pretty much everything, even the lessons and blessings of life,
- 3:35Speaker 4: even the things that you know aren't really going so great.
- 3:39Speaker 4: Just grateful that I'm here to experience them, to learn
- 3:42Speaker 4: from them, to use those lessons to not only help
- 3:45Speaker 4: myself get better, but to help others as well. I
- 3:49Speaker 4: think my understanding and appreciation has changed more recently in
- 3:56Speaker 4: light of me purchasing a home. And I'm saying that
- 4:00Speaker 4: to say, how celebrated had my house warming, and when
- 4:03Speaker 4: they came to celebrate me, how happy? But I was overwhelmed.
- 4:08Speaker 4: But it was a good over like even people who
- 4:11Speaker 4: couldn't make it, and Kiki, I'm talking about like weeks later,
- 4:16Speaker 4: packages still being delivered the day of the party, the
- 4:19Speaker 4: next week, just people really happy, wanted to celebrate and share.
- 4:24Speaker 4: And it was a good overwhelmed, but it actually brought
- 4:28Speaker 4: tears in my eyes, like you know, all right, I know,
- 4:32Speaker 4: I'm love you know, they love your girl, Hollywood and
- 4:34Speaker 4: all that good stuff, but really like wow, and it
- 4:40Speaker 4: was just like, you have so much to be grateful for,
- 4:43Speaker 4: even when you you know, you think you run out
- 4:46Speaker 4: of things. This count of blessings named them one by one.
- 4:49Speaker 4: There's always something to add to the list. Right when
- 4:53Speaker 4: you think about, you know, what's going on in the world,
- 4:56Speaker 4: right when you think about people, when you just think
- 4:58Speaker 4: about how fast things change and life change, is just
- 5:02Speaker 4: being grateful that I'm still here to even have this
- 5:05Speaker 4: conversation with you. So I think that also comes with
- 5:09Speaker 4: age as well. I think when you get to another
- 5:12Speaker 4: you know, a new phase, a new chapter, maybe even
- 5:15Speaker 4: another age in life, you start to see things differently,
- 5:18Speaker 4: and you start to appreciate things and people more than
- 5:22Speaker 4: you probably did before because you experience more, Right, You've
- 5:25Speaker 4: learned more, you've lost more, you've gained more and things
- 5:29Speaker 4: are different, and I think that gratitude changes. It kicks
- 5:33Speaker 4: in a little deeper as well.
- 5:35Speaker 2: Absolutely, And it's like you said, it's always something to
- 5:38Speaker 2: be thankful for because not everybody the list that you name,
- 5:42Speaker 2: not everybody has that because one minute is here, one
- 5:46Speaker 2: minute it can be taken away, Like we know the
- 5:49Speaker 2: climate of this country that we're living in, and it's
- 5:52Speaker 2: just we have to stay prayed and prayed up and
- 5:55Speaker 2: we have to have that attitude of gratitude and show
- 5:58Speaker 2: our things for the things that God has blessed us
- 6:01Speaker 2: with because not everybody has that at the moment. So
- 6:04Speaker 2: my heart goes out to those people and it just
- 6:07Speaker 2: makes me look at life with a different leans now.
- 6:11Speaker 3: The things that I used to take for granted.
- 6:14Speaker 2: I thank God all day, all throughout the day, because
- 6:18Speaker 2: you know, it was a little nippi this morning, but
- 6:21Speaker 2: I thank God that I ain't have to go outside.
- 6:23Speaker 3: I'm off to day and then I get to work
- 6:25Speaker 3: from home. So I'm grateful and thankful that I can
- 6:28Speaker 3: walk from my bedroom to my office and go to
- 6:30Speaker 3: work and not have to worry about burning up gas
- 6:33Speaker 3: or putting on a jacket or whatever.
- 6:34Speaker 2: So it's just a little things. But they seem so small,
- 6:39Speaker 2: but they're really not that small.
- 6:40Speaker 3: They're the big. They're big in my eyes.
- 6:43Speaker 4: Right, Or they can be like you said, they can
- 6:45Speaker 4: be small to us, are small to the people that
- 6:47Speaker 4: take it for granted. I don't think people really take
- 6:50Speaker 4: things for granted intentionally purposely. I just think it's that
- 6:56Speaker 4: they're used to, you know, having things excuse me, whether
- 7:01Speaker 4: it's you know, out of entitlement, or they you know,
- 7:04Speaker 4: just never had those days right where they didn't know
- 7:07Speaker 4: what they were going to eat, right, what they were
- 7:09Speaker 4: going to wear, if they had a jacket, you know,
- 7:12Speaker 4: warm enough. So I think I don't think it's you know,
- 7:15Speaker 4: they choose not to be But I think when you
- 7:17Speaker 4: have those times in days when you can personally relate,
- 7:21Speaker 4: you know, it makes you see things differently. Like you said,
- 7:24Speaker 4: so having those moments, yeah, I look, I had to
- 7:27Speaker 4: get up and go to work and being a cold,
- 7:29Speaker 4: but I'm worried. If I had a job, right, I'm
- 7:31Speaker 4: grief and I had a vehicle to get me to work,
- 7:34Speaker 4: I didn't have to uber, I didn't have to catch
- 7:36Speaker 4: the bus, right, So even though I may not have
- 7:38Speaker 4: had that, like you said, it's kind of little things.
- 7:41Speaker 4: I was worried for. I had a job to go to, right,
- 7:44Speaker 4: I was grateful that, you know, I was able to
- 7:46Speaker 4: get there in my own transportation, and I was able to,
- 7:50Speaker 4: you know, to do my job and make it back
- 7:52Speaker 4: home safe. And so I think people at times, we'll
- 7:57Speaker 4: see it differently. But there is something about this season,
- 8:00Speaker 4: know what you shared. I think people who may not
- 8:03Speaker 4: be as thankful or grateful, I think they can't help
- 8:07Speaker 4: but too, especially at this time and light of what's
- 8:11Speaker 4: going on. You know, seasons do things to people, right,
- 8:14Speaker 4: and when you see, you know, the fall fastivities, when
- 8:16Speaker 4: you think about what we're in, when you think about
- 8:19Speaker 4: the less fortunate, you know, when you just think about
- 8:21Speaker 4: family and friends and all of those things. I think
- 8:24Speaker 4: even if the people who weren't as grateful or didn't
- 8:27Speaker 4: think they had as much to be grateful for, I
- 8:29Speaker 4: think they'll they'll change and really begin to appreciate and
- 8:32Speaker 4: show that gratitude.
- 8:34Speaker 3: Absolutely. Absolutely.
- 8:35Speaker 2: Can you share a personal experience that significantly impact that
- 8:40Speaker 2: your perspective on gratitude are being thankful?
- 8:44Speaker 4: Oh, it's so many What that's a good question. A
- 8:49Speaker 4: personal experience? I would say, I guess I can kind
- 8:54Speaker 4: of use similar to my I guess my house woman
- 8:56Speaker 4: since that was recent. Like, I appreciate everything thing that
- 9:00Speaker 4: people do because I realize and understand that no one
- 9:03Speaker 4: owes me anything. People don't have to do things, so
- 9:07Speaker 4: you right, they do it because they want to, because
- 9:10Speaker 4: they're able to. So I think for me it's different
- 9:13Speaker 4: because I realize that every time someone does something for me,
- 9:16Speaker 4: no matter how big or small, I'm grateful And it
- 9:20Speaker 4: kind of overwhelms me because I do realize and acknowledge
- 9:24Speaker 4: that they didn't have to do that, and for whatever
- 9:26Speaker 4: wanted to, decided to bless no matter you know what
- 9:30Speaker 4: it is, how little it may seem to them, then
- 9:34Speaker 4: I'm just grateful for it. It just feels my heart like, wow,
- 9:37Speaker 4: you thought that much of me, you know, regardless of
- 9:41Speaker 4: what you had going on, you thought enough for me
- 9:43Speaker 4: to do that you know, particular thing to send that to.
- 9:47Speaker 4: And it's not always it doesn't always have to be financial, right, No,
- 9:51Speaker 4: it's not always about money. You know you thought about me,
- 9:55Speaker 4: you prayed, right, I was on your mind, you picked
- 9:57Speaker 4: up the telephone and you call when you text it,
- 10:00Speaker 4: So it's not always about old. It was a financial
- 10:04Speaker 4: thing that you have to bless somebody, because we know
- 10:06Speaker 4: there's more, you know, many more ways to bless somebody
- 10:09Speaker 4: to be a blessing, but just being able to do
- 10:13Speaker 4: that something you know that blessed to be a blessing.
- 10:17Speaker 4: You know, you read what you say, and I kind
- 10:19Speaker 4: of learned that, especially in season it's I was, you know,
- 10:23Speaker 4: experiencing gratitude and people were blessing me that it just
- 10:28Speaker 4: felt so good, you know, it just felt so good
- 10:31Speaker 4: even in my moments of upwhem and just appreciating people
- 10:36Speaker 4: more get me.
- 10:39Speaker 3: Yeah, I mean, and it gives you a different perspective
- 10:42Speaker 3: on life when you have those moments where people are
- 10:44Speaker 3: porn into you and.
- 10:45Speaker 2: You didn't ask for it, or you didn't have to
- 10:47Speaker 2: ask for it. They're just doing it because they love
- 10:51Speaker 2: you enough to consider you. Yeah, it's nothing like being
- 10:54Speaker 2: considered by the people that say that they love you
- 10:58Speaker 2: and care about you.
- 11:00Speaker 3: That's like one of my love languages, being considered. But
- 11:04Speaker 3: just just consider me.
- 11:07Speaker 4: And look. But I think he the other part of
- 11:10Speaker 4: that to me was all right, so we're gonna keep
- 11:13Speaker 4: it really kicking it. Some people we kind of expect
- 11:16Speaker 4: things from right although we say don't expect we're gonna
- 11:18Speaker 4: keep it real. We do expect some things from certain people.
- 11:22Speaker 4: But the thing that got me was some of these,
- 11:26Speaker 4: some of these I didn't expect anything from right, I
- 11:29Speaker 4: didn't expect So I guess that made me more grateful.
- 11:34Speaker 4: Like even though they couldn't make the house party right,
- 11:37Speaker 4: the housewoman excuse me because you know, they had another engagement.
- 11:42Speaker 4: They may not have even been invited to the house warmer.
- 11:46Speaker 4: You know, they heard about it. They couldn't make it.
- 11:48Speaker 4: Look I couldn't invite everybody right yet. But you know,
- 11:53Speaker 4: but even the ones who didn't weren't they heard about it.
- 11:57Speaker 4: They were happy, they were excited. They wanted to say,
- 12:00Speaker 4: celebrate me and with me, even if it was after
- 12:03Speaker 4: the moment. So I think that was the part that
- 12:06Speaker 4: really got me, you know, after the fact. And like
- 12:11Speaker 4: I said, some people, yeah, I kind of expected, but
- 12:13Speaker 4: these were like I wouldn't have thought they would have
- 12:16Speaker 4: considered me right, and just made me the more grateful.
- 12:21Speaker 4: You know, that just made me like, wow, you know,
- 12:24Speaker 4: it just made me wild. I'm just I'm looking because
- 12:27Speaker 4: I see the cards. I still have them up in
- 12:30Speaker 4: my room. Just really overwhelmed and just grateful for this,
- 12:36Speaker 4: for this opportunity. So I'm gonna give you a left background.
- 12:39Speaker 4: So I celebrated my fortieth birthday this year in September.
- 12:43Speaker 4: I've been trying to thank you. I've been trying to
- 12:45Speaker 4: have this party for a few years, but you know,
- 12:48Speaker 4: I mean hurricane season and there's always something going on
- 12:51Speaker 4: around my money. So when I started my prior, I said, God,
- 12:55Speaker 4: I'll be in my house and I'm going to have
- 12:58Speaker 4: this party for my forty a birth thing. And he
- 13:01Speaker 4: did it. He did it, So that's that's my you know,
- 13:05Speaker 4: I could have said that and nothing happened. I did
- 13:07Speaker 4: my work, he did his work, but I trusted him.
- 13:11Speaker 4: I put it in an atmosphere. You know, he made
- 13:14Speaker 4: it happen. I put some things in place. You know,
- 13:16Speaker 4: faith with our works is dead and I have to
- 13:18Speaker 4: do my part two right. And I think that's that's
- 13:22Speaker 4: why it just made me so grateful. Like I said, that,
- 13:25Speaker 4: he allowed it to happen. He made it possible, and
- 13:28Speaker 4: this is this is just the fruit of my labor,
- 13:32Speaker 4: so that it makes me all grateful more that.
- 13:35Speaker 2: Just I mean, I love I love hearing you say that.
- 13:39Speaker 2: So many people take the take that for granted, they
- 13:42Speaker 2: think that they get it on their own. And you
- 13:44Speaker 2: already know.
- 13:45Speaker 3: I'm a woman of faith, and I talk about God throughout.
- 13:47Speaker 2: This podcast and everywhere I go hearing you say He
- 13:50Speaker 2: made it happen. But I had to do my part
- 13:52Speaker 2: because people always want God. They want to help God out,
- 13:56Speaker 2: and they want to do it in their time. They
- 13:57Speaker 2: always want God to move right then and there. But
- 14:00Speaker 2: and what are you doing?
- 14:01Speaker 4: Right?
- 14:02Speaker 3: He making five steps? But are you even taking two?
- 14:06Speaker 4: Right?
- 14:07Speaker 3: Yeah? Yeah? So with that being said, are there any
- 14:12Speaker 3: specific things that you do on a daily basis for
- 14:17Speaker 3: your personal and professional life that makes you.
- 14:21Speaker 2: Adapt that attitude of gratitude even more in your life?
- 14:25Speaker 4: So I do wake up different devotionals for different things.
- 14:28Speaker 4: I do my prayerditation. Now I've been a little coll
- 14:31Speaker 4: and chili, so I had gone out in my backyard.
- 14:34Speaker 4: But I'm up. I'm using this devotional, you know, I'm praying.
- 14:39Speaker 4: I'm just thanking God first of all of opening my
- 14:41Speaker 4: eyes to see another day. All right, that's the big Right.
- 14:45Speaker 4: Some people go to sleep, don't wake up, you know,
- 14:48Speaker 4: go to sleep, wake up in a different, different mindset,
- 14:52Speaker 4: in a different state. So the very first thing I
- 14:54Speaker 4: do when I open my eyes is thank him for
- 14:57Speaker 4: allowing me to open my eyes and see that day.
- 15:00Speaker 4: And then I thank him for that day and the blessings.
- 15:03Speaker 4: I don't know what's going to transpire and the day,
- 15:06Speaker 4: but because he's given me optunity to see it, I
- 15:09Speaker 4: give it back to him. Whatever's going to happen in
- 15:12Speaker 4: his day, I'm giving it to you. I haven't, you know,
- 15:15Speaker 4: gotten out the bed. I haven't gotten dressed and made
- 15:17Speaker 4: it to work yet, so I don't know. Because he
- 15:19Speaker 4: goes before us, right, although he's with us, he also
- 15:22Speaker 4: goes before us. I don't know what's going to happen
- 15:25Speaker 4: when I get or when I get in I called
- 15:27Speaker 4: a drive, but he knows. I give the day back
- 15:30Speaker 4: to him. And when I get to work. I also
- 15:34Speaker 4: have some devotionals. I have my teacher word, you know,
- 15:37Speaker 4: wisdom sometimes found the way of the teacher, different things.
- 15:41Speaker 4: Because I'm an ed cater, so I need to stay
- 15:45Speaker 4: preyed up, you know that key one, not just covering myself,
- 15:48Speaker 4: but covering my students and their families as well. I
- 15:51Speaker 4: don't know what they're coming to school with. I don't
- 15:53Speaker 4: know what they're dealing with, right, But I want to
- 15:55Speaker 4: make sure I'm in the right mindset and in alignment
- 15:59Speaker 4: to be able to deal with what they're bringing to me. Right,
- 16:02Speaker 4: you know, different different you know, personalities, different children. I
- 16:05Speaker 4: just want to make sure I'm ready to receive that,
- 16:08Speaker 4: which is why I give him the day in the morning.
- 16:12Speaker 4: First of all, I do need to be more consistent.
- 16:15Speaker 4: I used to do my motivational messages and moments live
- 16:20Speaker 4: on Facebook and Instagram. I do need to be more
- 16:23Speaker 4: consistent in that, either before I get to work or
- 16:27Speaker 4: I used to do it when I was at work
- 16:28Speaker 4: after my duty. But I definitely do want at least
- 16:31Speaker 4: do it in the morning, finding a good time. I
- 16:34Speaker 4: want to be consistent with it though right doing it
- 16:37Speaker 4: is one thing, but being consistent because then I have
- 16:40Speaker 4: people you know, that will jump on like, hey, I
- 16:41Speaker 4: haven't seen you on Facebook in a while, I haven't
- 16:43Speaker 4: seen you. And once you start building that, people look
- 16:47Speaker 4: for you and you know that like I miss your
- 16:50Speaker 4: message and I always this is another part of gratitude.
- 16:54Speaker 4: I'm always so thankful and grateful because sometimes we do
- 16:58Speaker 4: things and you can attest you're not a relationship, it's
- 17:01Speaker 4: sticking if it's reaching, But there's always someone, whether it's
- 17:05Speaker 4: just you and you're talking to nobody, they'll see it,
- 17:08Speaker 4: whether they see it live in that moment or they
- 17:10Speaker 4: see it later. And I've actually had people like I
- 17:13Speaker 4: just happened to jump on or I came on and
- 17:17Speaker 4: that's what I needed to hear today. You bless my day.
- 17:20Speaker 4: And when I don't do that, I feel like I'm
- 17:26Speaker 4: the reason or I'm part of the reason that people
- 17:29Speaker 4: may not be getting what they need. And I'm like, well,
- 17:33Speaker 4: while you know, whatever you're doing, and it is really
- 17:37Speaker 4: feel convicted and convict myself when I think about our people,
- 17:41Speaker 4: I'll try right, the people that we are, you know
- 17:46Speaker 4: what I'm looking for you the people, our people, right,
- 17:48Speaker 4: the people that we are supposed to you know, they're
- 17:52Speaker 4: supposed to be on the right. So I'm like, while
- 17:54Speaker 4: I'm over here doing this, this person that needs what
- 17:57Speaker 4: I can give them, they can get it from you,
- 17:59Speaker 4: but maybe they it from me, right from me high
- 18:03Speaker 4: way in this way, but I'm not there to give
- 18:07Speaker 4: it something. And I'm like, I don't want to be
- 18:08Speaker 4: responsible for you know what, not that I will be,
- 18:12Speaker 4: but you I'm like that assignment. And because I'm feeling
- 18:16Speaker 4: in my completing assignment. Then there's people that are sciences
- 18:21Speaker 4: that aren't getting with their need in that moment. So
- 18:24Speaker 4: I think about all of that is the relate to gratitude,
- 18:26Speaker 4: even though I mean, I know these people that come on,
- 18:30Speaker 4: but I know that if there's a message that the
- 18:32Speaker 4: God has given me, whether it's through my devotional or
- 18:35Speaker 4: it's something that's on my home that day, to make
- 18:37Speaker 4: sure that they receive it.
- 18:38Speaker 3: Absolutely, I love that. And so we're going to talk
- 18:41Speaker 3: about these books. We're going to talk about the books
- 18:42Speaker 3: before we get into more questions like tell the people
- 18:46Speaker 3: about the books, the titles, how they can get them.
- 18:49Speaker 4: This is my book, Live Learn Love with Open Heart,
- 18:52Speaker 4: Life less and on cultivating healthy and meaningful relation. You
- 18:55Speaker 4: can get an Amazon, Barnes and Nobles, Walmart dot Com,

- 19:32Speaker 3: the copy.
- 19:33Speaker 2: I would put all of her information in the description
- 19:36Speaker 2: so that you can follow, support, like share, and connect
- 19:41Speaker 2: because we all need to be.
- 19:44Speaker 3: In community with new people.
- 19:47Speaker 2: I just don't understand that no new friends' mentality like
- 19:50Speaker 2: you might miss out on opportunities by not being open
- 19:56Speaker 2: to letting somebody else into your space.
- 19:59Speaker 4: That's true.
- 20:00Speaker 3: Yeah, that is true. Y'all go connect with her. All
- 20:03Speaker 3: her information would be listed.
- 20:05Speaker 2: Thank you for telling us about the book, and we
- 20:08Speaker 2: wish you nothing but success for the new projects. We
- 20:11Speaker 2: cannot wait for them and you'll be back to tell
- 20:13Speaker 2: us about them. On takeing with Kiki, I hope. So
- 20:16Speaker 2: we're talking about thankfulness and we well, we've talked about
- 20:20Speaker 2: a lot in this short time that we've been with
- 20:22Speaker 2: each other, but let's talk about thankfulness and relationships and
- 20:26Speaker 2: what ways do you express gratitude in your relationships and
- 20:30Speaker 2: how has it affected those connections?
- 20:34Speaker 4: Oh wow, that is a great question, Key, and I
- 20:37Speaker 4: love it being that my book is about relationships. Right.
- 20:40Speaker 4: One way that I express the gratitude and is true
- 20:43Speaker 4: simply saying thank you. I mean, you will be surprised
- 20:47Speaker 4: how those words can really make a situation. It really
- 20:52Speaker 4: is the little things of simple things and saying thank you,
- 20:56Speaker 4: like I said, every time, just thank you, just acknowledge
- 21:00Speaker 4: that person thought about you enough to do whatever it
- 21:02Speaker 4: is that they did do, and just thanking them thank
- 21:07Speaker 4: you as you could never say thank you enough. Another
- 21:10Speaker 4: way that I would say I express gratitude is behind
- 21:13Speaker 4: knowing my partner's love language or just any relationship period.
- 21:16Speaker 4: Right of course, think about our partners, but that's knowing anybody,
- 21:22Speaker 4: any family member, friends love language and being able to
- 21:26Speaker 4: communicate with them in that language. Right, knowing it means
- 21:29Speaker 4: that you know them, that you took the time learn
- 21:31Speaker 4: something about them, to learn what it is that they need,
- 21:34Speaker 4: how they want to unreceive love right, whether it's time,
- 21:38Speaker 4: whether it's through gifts, whether it's through acts of service us.
- 21:44Speaker 4: Making sure that you take the time to learn that
- 21:47Speaker 4: about whoever you're in a relationship with, family, friends, partners,
- 21:53Speaker 4: and showing them that you care and that you are
- 21:56Speaker 4: grateful by making sure that you utilize that love language.
- 22:00Speaker 2: Absolutely, I agree, I totally agree. And it's like you said,
- 22:04Speaker 2: it's all across the board. It's just not like being
- 22:06Speaker 2: in a romantic relationship. That's any relationship that you deem
- 22:10Speaker 2: important to you. It's important to say thank you whenever
- 22:14Speaker 2: something is done, to just show your appreciation and your
- 22:17Speaker 2: your gratitude and your thankfulness.
- 22:19Speaker 3: Story time and putting you in a hot seat, Can
- 22:22Speaker 3: you share a story about the time when expressing gratitude
- 22:26Speaker 3: transform the relationship or a situation you were in.
- 22:30Speaker 4: Oo expressing gratitude transformed.
- 22:36Speaker 3: And I'll give you an example.
- 22:38Speaker 2: You are an educator, so you deal with different personalities
- 22:42Speaker 2: and students and stuff all the time.
- 22:44Speaker 3: Say, for instance, you had a student.
- 22:46Speaker 2: That had a bad day and they were disruptive or
- 22:48Speaker 2: causing ruckus in your class. You knew that it was
- 22:52Speaker 2: not about you. It may have been something personal going on.
- 22:55Speaker 2: How would you or did you cultivate that situation so
- 23:00Speaker 2: that it can become a positive thing and not turn
- 23:03Speaker 2: into something negative.
- 23:06Speaker 4: Well, I can, I can talk about that all the time.
- 23:08Speaker 4: One of the first thing that I would do, like
- 23:10Speaker 4: you said, is not take it personal because I don't know,
- 23:13Speaker 4: you know, what they're dealing with at home. If we
- 23:15Speaker 4: haven't developed that relationship. I try to develop a relationship
- 23:19Speaker 4: with students, but you do have to be mindful of
- 23:23Speaker 4: making sure that line is still there, but making sure
- 23:27Speaker 4: you know, it's a healthy relationship because we are here.
- 23:30Speaker 4: We do want them to feel sleeep, to feel value,
- 23:33Speaker 4: to feel seen, and feel hurt, and they do need
- 23:35Speaker 4: to have adult that they, you know, can connect with
- 23:37Speaker 4: and share. So I actually do have you know, some
- 23:39Speaker 4: students that you know, if I notice something, you know,
- 23:42Speaker 4: do you need a moment? The first thing I asked,
- 23:44Speaker 4: you know, how are you? Are you okay? Do you
- 23:46Speaker 4: need a moment? And then from there I can kind
- 23:49Speaker 4: of you know, they may need a moment, Go take
- 23:51Speaker 4: a walk to the bathroom, right step outside for a moment,
- 23:55Speaker 4: get you some water, and you know, when you come back,
- 23:57Speaker 4: you know, let's talk about it, or you know, write
- 24:01Speaker 4: it down for me, you know, at the moment. So
- 24:03Speaker 4: I can kind of know, but making sure that they
- 24:05Speaker 4: know that that's a safe space that they can, you know,
- 24:09Speaker 4: can get what it is that they need, and it's
- 24:11Speaker 4: something I may not be able to provide. I can
- 24:14Speaker 4: definitely point them in the right direction and share it
- 24:17Speaker 4: with them. I actually had a student recently, probably yesterday.
- 24:22Speaker 4: I'm sitting at my door at my threshold, always greeting
- 24:25Speaker 4: them in the morning, good morning, grab your breakfast on
- 24:28Speaker 4: the way to advisory, encouraging the read because it's one
- 24:32Speaker 4: of our booths to reading and to have their book,
- 24:36Speaker 4: and just kind of you know, welcoming them as the
- 24:38Speaker 4: day begin, right, this is kind of withsouts when they
- 24:42Speaker 4: get off the buses through that process, then they hear
- 24:45Speaker 4: my voice as they coming down the hallway and kind
- 24:48Speaker 4: of you know, setting a tone and if they kind
- 24:50Speaker 4: of come to me, you can tell who's good morning
- 24:52Speaker 4: and come in and then who's kind of you know,
- 24:55Speaker 4: not really themselves usually and then if I encounter that,
- 24:58Speaker 4: I just kind of come to the sid you know, Okay,
- 25:01Speaker 4: what's going on? Is it something you want to talk about?
- 25:04Speaker 4: Everybody may not want you know, about it in that homent,
- 25:07Speaker 4: but but just giving them that space, right, you want
- 25:11Speaker 4: to talk, I'm here, you don't want to talk, I'm here,
- 25:14Speaker 4: But just allowing them to have that space and on
- 25:17Speaker 4: that is safe for them to you know, to feel
- 25:20Speaker 4: how they need to feel in that moment, right to
- 25:22Speaker 4: process it. All right, We're gonna be okay, and then
- 25:26Speaker 4: you know, and then we'll move on. Because there's still
- 25:28Speaker 4: a job, you know that I need to do, and
- 25:29Speaker 4: there's still something that you need to get. But acknowledging
- 25:33Speaker 4: that we're all human, right, we all have needs, we
- 25:36Speaker 4: all have our days. And a student actually something happened
- 25:40Speaker 4: today and I clicked the wrong thing and he said,
- 25:44Speaker 4: but you're a teacher, I said, but I'm also a person.
- 25:46Speaker 4: I'm also human. I make mistakes as well. So let's
- 25:52Speaker 4: give each other little grace. You know, sometimes this God
- 25:56Speaker 4: gives us grace, let's extend it to others. Like you're right,
- 26:03Speaker 4: I'll get it and you will too. We'll have a moment,
- 26:07Speaker 4: you know, And that's you know, like I said, were
- 26:09Speaker 4: helmet and not that it's an excuse of course, you know,
- 26:13Speaker 4: well held to a different standard of course, as we should.
- 26:18Speaker 4: But we're people too, we have feelings as well. And
- 26:21Speaker 4: I've had a moment I had so you know, another teacher,
- 26:25Speaker 4: I just need to step out for a moment. So
- 26:27Speaker 4: just acknowledging that, I think it's the biggest thing, acknowledging
- 26:31Speaker 4: it right and knowing how to manage it where it
- 26:34Speaker 4: doesn't really affect others as the right I needed to
- 26:38Speaker 4: step out for a moment in our lot of students,
- 26:40Speaker 4: you know the same. You need a moment, like I said,
- 26:43Speaker 4: go to the restaurant, grab some water, step out for
- 26:46Speaker 4: a minute, breathe all right, come back, We ready, we
- 26:48Speaker 4: can deal with it.
- 26:49Speaker 1: You good?
- 26:50Speaker 4: All right?
- 26:51Speaker 3: Yeah? I mean.
- 26:53Speaker 4: Being able to acknowledge it.
- 26:55Speaker 2: Ye, And that right, that would make that makes a
- 26:58Speaker 2: big difference as an educator because we don't You don't
- 27:00Speaker 2: know what those kids had to encounter at home, what
- 27:04Speaker 2: they had to encounter on their however they got to
- 27:07Speaker 2: school and then peer pressure, friends, everything just a lot
- 27:12Speaker 2: because we deal with it as adults. So just imagine
- 27:15Speaker 2: the kids dealing with it.
- 27:17Speaker 3: So my heart goes out to the educators for real.
- 27:20Speaker 3: My sister is an educator.
- 27:21Speaker 2: And who I commend you guys, Yes, y'all need raises
- 27:26Speaker 2: all across the board for real.
- 27:28Speaker 3: Thank you? How did you?
- 27:29Speaker 2: How do you encourage those around you, such as family
- 27:33Speaker 2: and friends or family and colleagues to embrace and practice
- 27:37Speaker 2: at gratitude.
- 27:41Speaker 4: I encouraged them by just trying to be an example
- 27:45Speaker 4: model of just looking around, right, just just just look around.
- 27:50Speaker 4: It's simple that some people get what did I just say?
- 27:55Speaker 3: Keep? When?
- 27:56Speaker 4: Was my director?
- 27:57Speaker 3: So what look around?
- 28:01Speaker 4: We couldn't look around if we didn't have boyd as, right,
- 28:05Speaker 4: So the fact that you can look around, that's something
- 28:09Speaker 4: to be grateful for. Some people can't.
- 28:11Speaker 3: Right.
- 28:12Speaker 4: So in that moment, like you said, it doesn't have
- 28:16Speaker 4: to be these big things were grateful for. And I
- 28:20Speaker 4: was telling, it's so funny that it's so relative and relevant. Sunday,
- 28:26Speaker 4: I'm the U pass, I'm over the eye lucky at
- 28:29Speaker 4: church and it was my Sunday in the back with
- 28:31Speaker 4: the kids, and we're talking about thankfulness of course in
- 28:33Speaker 4: this season. And as I was sharing with you know,
- 28:36Speaker 4: with my kids, I was like, we were writing the
- 28:40Speaker 4: things to be thankful for at church on Sunday, right,
- 28:44Speaker 4: excuse me. When I was getting the kids, so you know,
- 28:46Speaker 4: sheriff on the list and I had another lengthy list, right,
- 28:51Speaker 4: and I said five senses. And what I really wanted
- 28:55Speaker 4: them to understand is I can see, I can taste,
- 28:59Speaker 4: I can touch, I can hear, I can smell. That's
- 29:03Speaker 4: a lie. Everybody can't do those things, right. I can walk,
- 29:08Speaker 4: I can talk. So things that we take for granted,
- 29:12Speaker 4: like we said, and just encouraging people look around, stop, pass,
- 29:16Speaker 4: have a moment, breathe. Some people can't do that. So
- 29:20Speaker 4: just in that moment, if you don't think about, oh,
- 29:24Speaker 4: you're not having a bestiday. Right, your car broke, right,
- 29:28Speaker 4: you had a flat tire, something happened at the house
- 29:31Speaker 4: that broke you gotta get fixed, all right, You don't
- 29:34Speaker 4: your money not stretching to the end of the month.
- 29:37Speaker 4: All those things that we think about that happen. But
- 29:41Speaker 4: all it takes for me is to stop in that
- 29:44Speaker 4: moment and realize the things that I do have, right,
- 29:49Speaker 4: the things that I can't control because some things outside
- 29:51Speaker 4: of my control, right, but the things that I can't control,
- 29:55Speaker 4: the things that are tangible to me in this moment,
- 29:58Speaker 4: I can get up and walk, some people can't, and
- 30:03Speaker 4: just thinking, you know, for me it really is that simple. Right,
- 30:07Speaker 4: I have my hands, I can pick up something, right,
- 30:10Speaker 4: I can taste, I can smell. And when I think
- 30:15Speaker 4: about things like that and encouraging others, like they say,
- 30:18Speaker 4: countra blessings, just think one thing. There's always something. If
- 30:23Speaker 4: you just find one thing, that one thing, I guarantee
- 30:27Speaker 4: you is going to have you adding more and more
- 30:31Speaker 4: and more and find them more because once you find
- 30:33Speaker 4: that one, it's just gonna make you think of things
- 30:35Speaker 4: you didn't even think about before, and your list is
- 30:37Speaker 4: gonna grow, right if.
- 30:40Speaker 3: You just made me think about something, you just made
- 30:42Speaker 3: me really think about something, because you're talking about the
- 30:44Speaker 3: smell and the taste like this.
- 30:47Speaker 2: Allergies has been kicking my butt lately. And the other
- 30:51Speaker 2: day it was funny, but it wasn't. I can I
- 30:54Speaker 2: can breathe out of one side of my nose and
- 30:56Speaker 2: the other side was stopped up.
- 30:57Speaker 3: One side was running, the other side was stopped up.
- 31:00Speaker 2: That drove me crazy for a while. But just imagine
- 31:03Speaker 2: if I couldn't smell it all. So that right there,
- 31:08Speaker 2: it's like, you know, you have some people that you
- 31:10Speaker 2: know had COVID or have other type of diseases or
- 31:13Speaker 2: illnesses that takes certain certain senses from them. Like my
- 31:17Speaker 2: dad had a stroke a couple of years ago, and
- 31:19Speaker 2: he is paralyzed on his right side.
- 31:20Speaker 3: So to see this big strong man go from now
- 31:25Speaker 3: he hasn't rely on a wheelchair to get around. I
- 31:28Speaker 3: am more thankful because he's still here with us, and
- 31:33Speaker 3: it could have turned out a totally different way. But
- 31:36Speaker 3: I know that he is not.
- 31:38Speaker 2: Feeling the way he once felt as a man that
- 31:41Speaker 2: can move around and do things for himself.
- 31:43Speaker 3: Now he has to rely on my mom or.
- 31:45Speaker 2: My sister or his sister or you know, a nurse
- 31:49Speaker 2: come in or whatever and do certain things. So you
- 31:51Speaker 2: saying that, it just it just it makes me look
- 31:54Speaker 2: at that situation totally different.
- 31:58Speaker 4: Yeah, we're gonna do That's what I'm saying. Look, just
- 32:03Speaker 4: that one thing. Look, and you thought about something, of course,
- 32:06Speaker 4: you know, you know he's had it. But like you said,
- 32:08Speaker 4: and grateful and thankful, Daddy is still here, right, maybe
- 32:12Speaker 4: not how he was before, but he is still here. Yep,
- 32:16Speaker 4: he can still do something. And even like, it just
- 32:19Speaker 4: made you see that situation differently, and some people aren't
- 32:24Speaker 4: here to.
- 32:24Speaker 3: See right or do anything. He's still in his right mind.
- 32:30Speaker 3: He can still talk still, you know, he's here and
- 32:34Speaker 3: some people just not.
- 32:35Speaker 2: It just took me because I've seen that happen. So yeah,
- 32:38Speaker 2: it's just it just makes me more thankful to have
- 32:40Speaker 2: my daddy still with me, you know.
- 32:42Speaker 4: Yeah.
- 32:43Speaker 2: Yeah, all right, So we're gonna talk about the impact
- 32:46Speaker 2: of this this this country and society for a minute
- 32:49Speaker 2: and thankfulness.
- 32:51Speaker 3: And we know that you are a coach.
- 32:53Speaker 2: So this question, hey, y'all want you all to pay
- 32:57Speaker 2: attention to the coach, because she is about to speak
- 32:59Speaker 2: the words of wizard them. Okay, all right, how do
- 33:03Speaker 2: you think a collective practice of gratitude could impact society
- 33:09Speaker 2: as a whole?
- 33:12Speaker 4: I think during times like these, especially, a collective practice
- 33:20Speaker 4: would really show the country and the nation and what
- 33:27Speaker 4: type of people we are. And I says like if
- 33:31Speaker 4: we have or when they've had disasters, they've had, you know,
- 33:34Speaker 4: different calls. But I think just now in light of
- 33:39Speaker 4: what's going on with the government shut down, right, with
- 33:43Speaker 4: everything else, even in the city, and I see them
- 33:46Speaker 4: New Orleans we have you know, new officials that were elected, right,
- 33:50Speaker 4: we'll have a new mayor, and we have a new sheriff,
- 33:54Speaker 4: going to have a possibly new clerk of course soon.
- 33:57Speaker 4: Just thinking about all of those things and how important
- 34:03Speaker 4: gratitude is, right and thankfulness is, whether you've voted for
- 34:06Speaker 4: the person or not. Right, you have that opportunity, you
- 34:11Speaker 4: had that right, you had that chance, and now just
- 34:15Speaker 4: coming to allow things to be what it will be,
- 34:20Speaker 4: but still thinking God that you're here to see it,
- 34:22Speaker 4: to be a part of it, and that there is
- 34:25Speaker 4: still a role or part that you can play. Collectively.
- 34:28Speaker 4: I think they're strength in numbers, right, There's no greater
- 34:32Speaker 4: thing that I can think of, if people actually coming
- 34:34Speaker 4: together on one accord, especially during a time like this.
- 34:39Speaker 4: Just being grateful even in a miss Just being grateful
- 34:44Speaker 4: even in a miss because there are things you know
- 34:46Speaker 4: that are happening, some things we know, some things behind
- 34:49Speaker 4: the scenes that we do not know. But what we
- 34:53Speaker 4: do know, God is there. He's going to work it
- 34:58Speaker 4: out just the way it's meant to be forever one
- 35:02Speaker 4: of us, and it's going to work out in our favor.
- 35:05Speaker 4: We just have to hold on. We just have to
- 35:08Speaker 4: hang on. We just have to press on and prey
- 35:12Speaker 4: on and know that this too shall pass. This is
- 35:15Speaker 4: just a time, This is just the season. This is
- 35:18Speaker 4: just something that you know, we're experiencing and going through
- 35:21Speaker 4: at this time. Even for those of us who may
- 35:24Speaker 4: not be affected directly, we're affected indirectly, and I think
- 35:32Speaker 4: being able that's what that gratitude kicks in. I've had
- 35:35Speaker 4: students talk about their parents not knowing if they were
- 35:39Speaker 4: gonna have some NEI a student today, now, I'm gonna
- 35:41Speaker 4: be honest. I don't know if he was playing or serious,
- 35:43Speaker 4: but he was like, I don't know if we have
- 35:45Speaker 4: a Thanksgiving I said bybe you're gonna have a thanks given,
- 35:49Speaker 4: You're gonna have a thanksgiving. But you know, like because
- 35:53Speaker 4: so many people you know, depend on those things, right
- 35:57Speaker 4: And and I don't want to say taken for granted, but
- 36:01Speaker 4: like you said, here one day going the next, right,
- 36:04Speaker 4: because it's just there, but not really, I'm not gonna
- 36:09Speaker 4: not appreciating it, be seeing how it is it's not there.
- 36:14Speaker 4: And we do that in our family with our relationships,
- 36:17Speaker 4: not intentionally, as I say it, take people for granted, right,
- 36:20Speaker 4: but when they're not there anymore, when we don't have
- 36:22Speaker 4: that access, we feel it. We feel a difference. And
- 36:27Speaker 4: for me, that goes to being grateful and thankful just
- 36:31Speaker 4: for everybody for everything, no matter how big or small
- 36:34Speaker 4: it may seem to you to others saying that thank you,
- 36:38Speaker 4: thanking God in the morning, thanking others for doing things,
- 36:44Speaker 4: setting boundaries, that's gratitude. To me, that's thankfulness for yourself,
- 36:49Speaker 4: having health relationships on occasion. All of that to me
- 36:54Speaker 4: go gratitude because it shows that you appreciate others itself
- 37:00Speaker 4: as well.
- 37:01Speaker 2: Right, Yeah, I think that we should stop playing the
- 37:05Speaker 2: blame game and look inwardly first and see why do
- 37:10Speaker 2: I continue to blame people if I'm not willing to
- 37:13Speaker 2: step up to make a difference. And then I also
- 37:17Speaker 2: think that we should always try to have something for
- 37:21Speaker 2: a rainy day.
- 37:22Speaker 3: I know that's hard.
- 37:23Speaker 2: Maybe if you can only put five dollars.
- 37:26Speaker 3: Back here and there or whatever.
- 37:28Speaker 2: That way, when situations like this arrive, you still have
- 37:33Speaker 2: something to get something at least something can be gotten, right,
- 37:37Speaker 2: you know, and uh, you know, don't.
- 37:40Speaker 3: Come for me. That's just my personal opinion. I just
- 37:42Speaker 3: really think that we should not put all our eggs
- 37:45Speaker 3: in one basket.
- 37:47Speaker 4: I agree, that's true.
- 37:48Speaker 3: I agree, yeah, yes, since.
- 37:53Speaker 4: Yeah, it could be a learning experience as well, too. Key,
- 37:56Speaker 4: Like you said, we know these things have occurred in
- 37:58Speaker 4: the past. Yeah, we know any given time that can
- 38:01Speaker 4: happen again. So making sure to the extent that we
- 38:04Speaker 4: can try to put ourselves in a different position, right, Yeah,
- 38:10Speaker 4: so that if and when the time comes again, like
- 38:12Speaker 4: I said, we may not be as affected, right, it
- 38:16Speaker 4: may have, but we're gonna.
- 38:18Speaker 3: Be on right, Yeah, exactly, And that's all we're saying. Yeah, okay,
- 38:23Speaker 3: So last question, last question, what advice would you give
- 38:28Speaker 3: someone who struggles to find things to be thankful for
- 38:32Speaker 3: in their life. I think you have said it already.
- 38:39Speaker 4: I can say that, look around right, take a walk
- 38:46Speaker 4: in hell, excel, turn on some music. I'm saying all
- 38:58Speaker 4: these things, but it's like we do it. They don't
- 39:02Speaker 4: think anything about it. You know why you can turn
- 39:05Speaker 4: on the music. One you have hands to turn them on.
- 39:08Speaker 4: Two you can hear it. If I couldn't hear the music,
- 39:11Speaker 4: or I turn it on. No, So it really is
- 39:16Speaker 4: that simple. And I will tell them can you see me?
- 39:21Speaker 4: Can you hear me? Okay, let's take a walk all right? Now,
- 39:26Speaker 4: what you're thankful for? You have legs. Some people don't,
- 39:29Speaker 4: or they have legs, but they can't walk on them right,
- 39:31Speaker 4: but they can't stand up right. So it really is
- 39:35Speaker 4: for me that simple. And I just think about people
- 39:41Speaker 4: like you say that we're able to do those things
- 39:43Speaker 4: like your dad today and then tomorrow could not in
- 39:46Speaker 4: the same capacity. And I think I'm not gonna say
- 39:50Speaker 4: that's one that's a fear of mind. But I think
- 39:53Speaker 4: about people who can see right, and then I think,
- 39:59Speaker 4: sometimes you know, people bomb blind right, and sometimes people
- 40:02Speaker 4: go U blind right. Things happen they have something like
- 40:06Speaker 4: Ray Charles right, So I just I mean maybe not
- 40:10Speaker 4: so that extreme, but I'm just saying, like it can be.
- 40:13Speaker 4: I can see today and tomorrow I can't right un tomorrow,
- 40:16Speaker 4: I can't talk a walker here, So like things really
- 40:20Speaker 4: happen that quickly right into northward of my own that's
- 40:24Speaker 4: something that we can't control. But when I think about
- 40:27Speaker 4: the things that I can do today and yesterday, I'm
- 40:31Speaker 4: grateful that I can still do it right now. Right,
- 40:34Speaker 4: So I would say, just just really stop and think
- 40:36Speaker 4: and consider everything that you can do. I will take
- 40:40Speaker 4: them from five senses, right. I would take them through
- 40:44Speaker 4: what I just say, let's take a walk, stand up.
- 40:47Speaker 4: I will really take them through that. And I think
- 40:50Speaker 4: that just having that simple conversation, as simple encounter exchange,
- 40:56Speaker 4: they'll appreciate more and be and be have the attitude
- 41:01Speaker 4: of gratitude that we talked about, because that thing is serious. Yeah,
- 41:06Speaker 4: it really is.
- 41:07Speaker 3: It is. I love it. I love it. Listen. That
- 41:11Speaker 3: was the last question of the evening.
- 41:13Speaker 2: But is there any other things that you would like
- 41:16Speaker 2: to pour into the listeners for today before we get
- 41:19Speaker 2: off again. Thank you for coming to kick with me.
- 41:21Speaker 2: It is so good to see you. I love that smile.
- 41:24Speaker 2: You already know that because we didn't talked about it before,
- 41:27Speaker 2: but it's just it's just breathtaking to have somebody that
- 41:32Speaker 2: just makes you feel nice like you smiling over there,
- 41:37Speaker 2: smile all over here.
- 41:40Speaker 4: Thank you, key, I love it. I just want to
- 41:42Speaker 4: thank you. I'm grateful to you, sister, for allowing me
- 41:45Speaker 4: to come back on It has been a while. I said,
- 41:48Speaker 4: I got to reach out to my girl. Let's you know,
- 41:50Speaker 4: let's talk books, let's do our thing whatever. I just
- 41:53Speaker 4: wanted to really catch up with you. I see you
- 41:56Speaker 4: been doing your thing. I'm so proud of you and
- 41:59Speaker 4: grateful for you doing what it is that you do
- 42:01Speaker 4: for us, for the culture, for the magazine, for the
- 42:04Speaker 4: podcast and everything, and just grateful to be a part
- 42:08Speaker 4: of this you know of it, and just just be grateful,
- 42:14Speaker 4: you know, to share some parts of my journey as
- 42:17Speaker 4: it relates to relationships and healthy relationships and being an author,
- 42:21Speaker 4: and so grateful and thankful to add it Homeowner to
- 42:25Speaker 4: my list of titles and things that I am, and
- 42:28Speaker 4: just really especially in this season. I know that's something
- 42:31Speaker 4: we said about this season. Don't wait for things to
- 42:34Speaker 4: be thankful, Oh, don't wait for seasons, Christmas, holidays, birthdays
- 42:41Speaker 4: to be thankful and grateful every day that God allows
- 42:44Speaker 4: you to open your eyes. Yeah, day of thanks And
- 42:50Speaker 4: as I say, that's always something to be grateful for.
- 42:54Speaker 4: And in the same thing. And if you think of
- 42:56Speaker 4: that one thing, trust me, that one thing can triggers
- 42:58Speaker 4: so much more when you think about yourself, when you
- 43:02Speaker 4: when you think about others. Right, But don't just owe thanksgiving.
- 43:06Speaker 4: I'm so thankful. Be thankful every day. Be thankful every
- 43:11Speaker 4: day and every and share that gratitude with others. Gratitude
- 43:16Speaker 4: it's something for I believe it's for others. Right, You're
- 43:19Speaker 4: grateful for something, to something right, thankful for something or
- 43:25Speaker 4: for someone. And I just think that those words thank
- 43:30Speaker 4: you goes along. We don't don't forget no matter if
- 43:34Speaker 4: you you know, whatever it is. They didn't have to
- 43:36Speaker 4: do that. They and stop telling people what they don't
- 43:38Speaker 4: have to do. They did know they don't have to
- 43:41Speaker 4: do it. They did it. They wanted to, right, they
- 43:44Speaker 4: were able to. They considered you it's my girl, Keiky said,
- 43:48Speaker 4: So don't take that blessing away. They thought they did it,
- 43:53Speaker 4: wanted to, they couldn't. They will be grateful, thank you.
- 43:57Speaker 4: Just want to say thank you. Yes, all you have
- 44:00Speaker 4: to do. God is gonna pull you out a blessing
- 44:02Speaker 4: you will not have rooming up to receive. Still living
- 44:05Speaker 4: in the overflow in a new month, still a coworker.
- 44:09Speaker 4: I didn't make your house warming. I see you send
- 44:12Speaker 4: me a cash out. My housewner was last month. Baby.
- 44:16Speaker 4: She didn't care. I didn't make it. I wanted to,
- 44:18Speaker 4: She considered me. I was on her mind and appreciate
- 44:23Speaker 4: no matter how big or small it is. I appreciate
- 44:26Speaker 4: anything and everything someone does for you, even if it's
- 44:29Speaker 4: not what you wanted or thought you wanted. Not just
- 44:32Speaker 4: have Thanksgiving, but every day in every way, be grateful.
- 44:36Speaker 3: Absolutely.
- 44:37Speaker 2: With that being said, you guys have been listening to
