- 0:29Speaker 1: Ladies and gentlemen, May I have your attention please. The
- 0:38Speaker 1: show starts in ten five eight seven, six, five four
- 0:53Speaker 1: three two.
- 0:56Speaker 2: One golome to believe in the Journey podcast where I
- 1:06Speaker 2: am your Wholda Harris, And tonight, I have some phenomenal
- 1:10Speaker 2: women who are going to be sharing their journey with
- 1:14Speaker 2: me along with the book that we all did together
- 1:18Speaker 2: called Sacred Seeds of Wisdom, and it is a book
- 1:22Speaker 2: that every black and brown woman needs to have in
- 1:25Speaker 2: their arson. So if you haven't got the book, it's
- 1:28Speaker 2: available now on Amazon. You can reach out to either
- 1:31Speaker 2: one of us and we'll make sure that you get
- 1:33Speaker 2: your copy now. This book was truly a sacred seed
- 1:38Speaker 2: of wisdom to me. I am grateful to be a
- 1:41Speaker 2: part of it with these phenomenal women. It is fourteen
- 1:45Speaker 2: of us collectively, and each one of us has a
- 1:49Speaker 2: different seed that we want to plant with you. But
- 1:52Speaker 2: before we go to the guests that are coming up,
- 1:56Speaker 2: and go to God first, So Dear Heavenly Father, for
- 2:00Speaker 2: bringing us here together as you do each and every
- 2:02Speaker 2: time we're in front of you, Let the words of
- 2:04Speaker 2: our mouths fall upon the ears that need to hear.
- 2:07Speaker 2: We all have walked along the journey and the path
- 2:10Speaker 2: that you have designed for us. But collectively we come
- 2:12Speaker 2: together to create something that everyone, every female needs in
- 2:18Speaker 2: their arsenal, their seeds of wisdom that we wish that
- 2:21Speaker 2: we had as young children. But you have collectively brought
- 2:25Speaker 2: us together in this so that we can leave this
- 2:28Speaker 2: legacy to those who are coming behind us. And you're precureus.
- 2:31Speaker 2: To Holy Name Jesus, we pray Amen. Now, the women
- 2:35Speaker 2: that I have coming tonight is Miss Charlotte, Miss Shana, Christina, Latanya, Tanya,
- 2:45Speaker 2: Tony Farren, and Michelle. I'm not sure if everybody's got
- 2:51Speaker 2: here yet. Some are still on their way, but most
- 2:53Speaker 2: of them are common. So I got Miss Tony, Miss Shane,
- 2:56Speaker 2: Miss Farren, and Miss Christina. Miss miss Christina is it's
- 3:00Speaker 2: traveling right now. She's gonna turn her camera on when
- 3:02Speaker 2: she get in the house, but she coming. She's gonna
- 3:05Speaker 2: be part of this conversation too. Welcome them to the show.
- 3:12Speaker 3: How you guys doing tonight?
- 3:14Speaker 2: Doing wonderful? Thank you so much for having us. You
- 3:20Speaker 2: know I could not extend this. I can't even say
- 3:26Speaker 2: family meeting. I almost say it like that it's a
- 3:28Speaker 2: family meeting, and we had to come together to talk
- 3:31Speaker 2: about what we contributed to this book, because people need
- 3:34Speaker 2: to know what happens behind the scenes, and they don't
- 3:36Speaker 2: always get to know what happens behind the scenes, and
- 3:39Speaker 2: what we had to go through and ourselves to even
- 3:42Speaker 2: convince ourselves sometimes to even be as vulnerable as we
- 3:46Speaker 2: become when we're writing our stories, because sometimes just to
- 3:51Speaker 2: put it on paper is like, Lord, what are they
- 3:54Speaker 2: gonna say?
- 3:54Speaker 3: How are people gonna judge me? How to me? You
- 3:57Speaker 3: know when I share this part of myself with who knows?
- 4:01Speaker 3: You know.
- 4:02Speaker 2: So it was a necessary thing that I think was
- 4:07Speaker 2: there for me to extend this moment of space able
- 4:12Speaker 2: to share what.
- 4:13Speaker 3: It was like for us.
- 4:15Speaker 2: So I want each of you to take a moment
- 4:17Speaker 2: to introduce yourselves, to give them a little bit of
- 4:20Speaker 2: background about who you are. And it doesn't matter who
- 4:24Speaker 2: goes first, like so I hope like looking at the
- 4:30Speaker 2: picture on everybody side and be like, oh no, I can.
- 4:35Speaker 4: Go first, ladies. So, first of all, thank you for
- 4:39Speaker 4: having me have all of us on the show. So
- 4:42Speaker 4: my name is Shana. I am a twenty twenty four
- 4:45Speaker 4: Distinguished Author's Guild Winner. I wrote the book The Prettiest Woman,
- 4:49Speaker 4: and I have a new journal which is nominated called Butterflies.

- 4:54Speaker 4: I'm a mother, I'm an entrepreneur, ounteer design business called
- 4:58Speaker 4: us to Letto Decor. I have a youth ministry called
- 5:01Speaker 4: The Prettiest Little Women Ministry. So I'm all about building women,
- 5:05Speaker 4: building young girls up from the inside out. That's why
- 5:07Speaker 4: I was really happy to be a part of this project.
- 5:09Speaker 4: I love collaborative efforts with other women where we could
- 5:13Speaker 4: just just talk and just pour into each other and
- 5:15Speaker 4: build each other up. And I'm starting to feel like
- 5:17Speaker 4: that's my life's purpose, and.
- 5:20Speaker 3: That's a great purpose. You know.
- 5:22Speaker 2: Sometimes we tend to run away from that purpose in
- 5:25Speaker 2: the beginning because we're I quite sure black it.
- 5:29Speaker 3: But that's a great, great purpose.
- 5:31Speaker 2: Yes.
- 5:31Speaker 3: Now, whoever gets to introduce themselves, go ahead.
- 5:36Speaker 2: I'll go hello everybody. Thank you so much again, Tavida.
- 5:41Speaker 2: I've been here before and it's always a pleasure, so
- 5:43Speaker 2: thank you for having us. My name is Farren maclamore
- 5:46Speaker 2: and I am a twenty twenty four Distinguished Author is
- 5:49Speaker 2: Guilt nominee twenty twenty five Distinguished Author is Guild ambassador
- 5:55Speaker 2: and nominee, So shout out the Sacred Season wisdom because
- 5:58Speaker 2: we are dagon Data. So congratulations to you all, ladies.
- 6:03Speaker 2: I am a community advocate and a motivational speaker. Through
- 6:07Speaker 2: in my book, I champion for people with disabilities. I
- 6:11Speaker 2: inspire self love and I encourage those to embrace their
- 6:14Speaker 2: differences and love who they see in the mirror. So
- 6:19Speaker 2: I love that I got to be a part of
- 6:22Speaker 2: this amazing journey because it allowed me to leave that
- 6:25Speaker 2: legacy and to tap into my passion which is inspiring
- 6:29Speaker 2: and uplifting, and then just to piggyback off author Shannam.
- 6:34Speaker 2: I love the collaboration, especially you know, with powerful black women.
- 6:40Speaker 2: So this was such an empowering journey to be on.
- 6:43Speaker 2: So I'm just excited to be here and excited to
- 6:46Speaker 2: be a part of it. It's Tony, you want to go, shirogo.
- 6:56Speaker 5: My name is Tony Winston and I'm an entrepreneur. I
- 6:59Speaker 5: own my own travel business. It's called Freedom Travel Diva.
- 7:03Speaker 5: I'm the Diva and I travel all over the world
- 7:07Speaker 5: people with me. But I also have a sideline gig
- 7:10Speaker 5: where I work for the federal government and I am divorced.
- 7:14Speaker 5: I am a daughter, a sister, a auntie, a cousin,
- 7:19Speaker 5: a niece, and I am just so encouraged to be
- 7:24Speaker 5: around so.
- 7:26Speaker 6: Many talented black.
- 7:29Speaker 2: And brown women. When I was invited to this opportunity
- 7:34Speaker 2: to share sacred seeds of wisdom, I did not really
- 7:41Speaker 2: fully grasp the talent that we have in our communities.
- 7:47Speaker 6: Kudos to everyone who is here.
- 7:50Speaker 5: It was I'm just going to shout out everybody because
- 7:53Speaker 5: it was indeed a privilege for me to participate, because
- 7:59Speaker 5: I had to fall back on the information that I
- 8:04Speaker 5: shared for myself. I lost my dad three weeks ago,
- 8:09Speaker 5: so I had to encourage myself. I started to call
- 8:14Speaker 5: doctor Carolyn, and I started to call Tonight to say
- 8:17Speaker 5: that I was not going to be on.
- 8:20Speaker 6: But my dad said to me.
- 8:21Speaker 5: Before he left he wanted me to live my life right.
- 8:27Speaker 5: I knew exactly what that meant. He and I had
- 8:29Speaker 5: our own language.
- 8:30Speaker 2: I'm the oldest, and I was Daddy's girl, and I
- 8:33Speaker 2: looked like him. So if I started to cry to night,
- 8:37Speaker 2: don't y'all feel sorry for me? Join me.
- 8:40Speaker 5: Because my dad was able to talk to me, share
- 8:47Speaker 5: with me and the family.
- 8:50Speaker 2: But he also told us he knew exactly where he
- 8:52Speaker 2: was going.
- 8:53Speaker 5: He said he was going home to be with the Lord,
- 8:57Speaker 5: and that really changed my life.
- 9:00Speaker 2: H m hm.
- 9:01Speaker 5: He changed my life and I will never ever let
- 9:04Speaker 5: anybody discourage me again about anything that I want to do.
- 9:08Speaker 3: That's right.
- 9:09Speaker 5: So my my words of wisdom tonight to everybody here.
- 9:15Speaker 5: Nobody has any shortcomings anything that you put your mind to.
- 9:20Speaker 2: Put God first and He'll take care of the rest.
- 9:25Speaker 2: So Charlotte, mm hmm, well, you're absolutely right. If you
- 9:42Speaker 2: do start to cross tonight, you'll be in good company
- 9:46Speaker 2: because moment, hey, miss Charlotte, yourself.
- 9:51Speaker 7: Hi, it might be noise in the background. I'm currently
- 9:55Speaker 7: in a situation. Well, I'm just going to cut straight
- 9:59Speaker 7: to the point.
- 9:59Speaker 1: High.
- 10:00Speaker 7: My name is Charlotte Simon Ralson. I write a monthly
- 10:05Speaker 7: column for Aspiring Authors magazine called Grief and Gratitude. And
- 10:12Speaker 7: also I'm part of the anthology with all your Beautiful Ladies,
- 10:17Speaker 7: and I just want to tell a little background about
- 10:20Speaker 7: my story. It's just a story about humility. I'm currently
- 10:28Speaker 7: and I'm staying with my daughter now for seven months.
- 10:30Speaker 7: I'm grateful that I'm not in the streets, but I
- 10:35Speaker 7: just I just want to be in a setting where
- 10:37Speaker 7: I have my own place. So like I said, you
- 10:39Speaker 7: might hear noise in the background. I'm on a time
- 10:42Speaker 7: limit because this is not my house. So that's when
- 10:45Speaker 7: I say humility is this is a humbling inspirits for me,
- 10:51Speaker 7: and it's it's you know, just so it's been a
- 10:54Speaker 7: lot of stuff that has happened, as Angelo all the
- 10:58Speaker 7: time on the line and stuff that's going on now,
- 11:03Speaker 7: but in the process of it, of what has happened
- 11:07Speaker 7: has blessed me. I don't want to say nothing now,
- 11:10Speaker 7: but it will happen in September. But I was totally floored.
- 11:16Speaker 7: When it's like I have mixed emotions. I want to
- 11:20Speaker 7: cry because I'm upset, but then the joy is right
- 11:23Speaker 7: there and I have to keep it to myself a
- 11:25Speaker 7: little while longer. So that's where I'm at now. And
- 11:29Speaker 7: I know I'm rushing because like I said, I'm on
- 11:32Speaker 7: a time frame. To excuse me, but just keep me
- 11:36Speaker 7: in prayer. I just want to say thank you'ull to
- 11:38Speaker 7: everybody that's on the line. I'm humbly grateful. I love you, Angela,
- 11:44Speaker 7: and so I'm just grateful to be a part of
- 11:47Speaker 7: this anthology and I can't wait to just do more.
- 11:52Speaker 3: Well, you are in good company. Listen.
- 11:54Speaker 2: Sometimes godations to show us just who he is, because
- 12:00Speaker 2: sometimes you don't understand the purpose behind the things that
- 12:04Speaker 2: he's doing in our lives. I say that life of
- 12:07Speaker 2: different puzzle pieces, and you never understand which piece you
- 12:11Speaker 2: have and where it's going to fit until you're in
- 12:14Speaker 2: the situation that you know, this is where this piece
- 12:17Speaker 2: in my life goes. Right now, you're talking about back
- 12:21Speaker 2: ground noise. I'm in my bedroom tonight doing my podcast
- 12:25Speaker 2: because where I normally am, my daughter is here. Like
- 12:28Speaker 2: I told you earlier, if not, she would be in
- 12:32Speaker 2: here taking over the podcast because she thinks that this
- 12:35Speaker 2: is hers because anytime my laptop comes out, she thinks
- 12:39Speaker 2: that it's time to work and it's time for her
- 12:41Speaker 2: to do her thing. So I had to actually lock
- 12:44Speaker 2: myself in here so she could stay out there with
- 12:47Speaker 2: her mama.
- 12:48Speaker 3: And so we had a whole conversation that I.
- 12:51Speaker 7: Was gonna.
- 12:58Speaker 2: No, no, no, yes, So you can't be with teach
- 13:02Speaker 2: you right now. So she's the floor and she's like, oh,
- 13:05Speaker 2: I want to go with my.
- 13:09Speaker 3: Tears. Won't work right now. We have stuff to do.
- 13:12Speaker 2: I'll see you in it, yes, yes, but you are fine,
- 13:17Speaker 2: so don't don't worry about that. God has you right
- 13:20Speaker 2: where you're supposed to be in this.
- 13:22Speaker 7: Yes, I know that's right. That is definitely true.
- 13:25Speaker 2: So there's absolutely or anything about that. And you know,
- 13:30Speaker 2: God will tell us when it's time to speak and
- 13:32Speaker 2: when it's time to sit still and keep our mouths
- 13:34Speaker 2: closed about the next thing that He's doing in our lives,
- 13:37Speaker 2: and sometimes we want to share it with someone who
- 13:40Speaker 2: is not supposed to hear that news.
- 13:43Speaker 3: So sit back and be quiet.
- 13:46Speaker 2: And when God knows this time, then you speak on
- 13:49Speaker 2: what it is that you got going on, because it's
- 13:51Speaker 2: not for us to hear right now. Okay, Pastina, how
- 13:58Speaker 2: are you? Uh?
- 14:01Speaker 3: Oh you all mute? We can't hear ya.
- 14:04Speaker 8: Hey, how are you out?
- 14:07Speaker 3: We're just introducing ourselves right now.
- 14:10Speaker 8: Okay, is it my turn? Well, I appreciate you for
- 14:15Speaker 8: having me. My name is Christina, and I I mean
- 14:20Speaker 8: no nonpro professional. I can now say that I'm a writer,
- 14:25Speaker 8: I'm a mom and a wife, and I am just
- 14:28Speaker 8: happy to be here.
- 14:31Speaker 3: Well, it's great to have you here.
- 14:34Speaker 2: Like most of you don't don't know much about me
- 14:37Speaker 2: except for our host this podcast.
- 14:40Speaker 3: I'm gonna tell you a little bit about me. I
- 14:43Speaker 3: am a mother of three. All three of my children
- 14:45Speaker 3: are grown, but they tend to think that they're my parents.
- 14:47Speaker 3: At this point. They tell me that I am hard headed.
- 14:50Speaker 2: I am the hard headed parent they've ever had to
- 14:53Speaker 2: raise in their lives because I don't listen to nothing.
- 14:57Speaker 3: Oh just just.
- 14:58Speaker 2: Turned twenty nine. My middle one is twenty five. My
- 15:00Speaker 2: youngest is twenty two. He'll be twenty three on the
- 15:03Speaker 2: fourth of August. I am a self published author. I
- 15:10Speaker 2: am a coach, motivational speaker. I also have a business,
- 15:16Speaker 2: wings of Transformation Publishing, where I help other authors who
- 15:20Speaker 2: are wanting to self published learn how to do that
- 15:23Speaker 2: themselves as well.
- 15:25Speaker 3: Outside of that, I.
- 15:28Speaker 2: Am a small person in statue, but I am big
- 15:34Speaker 2: in spirit.
- 15:35Speaker 3: I always say that because I'm.
- 15:36Speaker 2: Only four eight, But when you get to know me,
- 15:40Speaker 2: I am six feet tall in my mind.
- 15:43Speaker 3: Whether you believe it or not, they ain't got nothing
- 15:45Speaker 3: to do with me.
- 15:45Speaker 2: But in my mind, I'm six feet tall and I'm
- 15:48Speaker 2: gonna do whatever I set my mind to. So if
- 15:50Speaker 2: you tell me I can't do something, I'm gonna tell
- 15:52Speaker 2: you watch me and see. So I am very shy
- 15:57Speaker 2: when it comes to public speaking. But as I said before,
- 16:01Speaker 2: nobody ever believes me because they can't see where the
- 16:04Speaker 2: shyness comes in at because.
- 16:05Speaker 3: I'm always going show up. And now, I, like I.
- 16:10Speaker 2: Told you, Miss Charlotte when we talked earlier, I'm nervous
- 16:13Speaker 2: every single time I have to do one of these shows,
- 16:16Speaker 2: every time I have to speak.
- 16:20Speaker 3: Something. But that's not hard for me to do.
- 16:23Speaker 2: Being four eight, I can stand beside anybody and disappear.
- 16:27Speaker 3: Oh you know, it just is what it is.
- 16:30Speaker 2: But collectively, this book has really reached people in many ways,
- 16:37Speaker 2: and I want to say that it's touched me in
- 16:40Speaker 2: a way of being in a space with all of
- 16:43Speaker 2: you women. And one thing that I can say for
- 16:46Speaker 2: myself is as a little girl growing up, I was
- 16:50Speaker 2: always told that I will never amount to anything except
- 16:53Speaker 2: for being an alcoholic and a drug addict like my mother. Now,
- 16:58Speaker 2: I always thought that I was gonna be something different
- 17:02Speaker 2: and something more than that. And what I can say
- 17:05Speaker 2: is being in space with you women has taught me
- 17:11Speaker 2: that I was always meant to be in this space,
- 17:14Speaker 2: regardless of where other people thought I was supposed to
- 17:17Speaker 2: be because they planted seeds of doubt. But other people
- 17:21Speaker 2: who were meant to help me see the greatness within me,
- 17:25Speaker 2: planted the seeds of growth possoming to let me know
- 17:29Speaker 2: that I could do anything that I sent my mind to.
- 17:32Speaker 2: And so those are the seeds that have been blossoming
- 17:35Speaker 2: for me. I am learning still how to celebrate myself
- 17:40Speaker 2: and celebrate the lens that I have because I've accomplished
- 17:44Speaker 2: a lot of things in my life. However, I've never
- 17:47Speaker 2: celebrated those things. So last year and this year, I
- 17:51Speaker 2: have made it a point to celebrate my good things
- 17:57Speaker 2: and doing the book signing and book released from my
- 18:00Speaker 2: mob last month.
- 18:02Speaker 3: It was in honor of her.
- 18:03Speaker 2: She passed away two years ago, and I really was
- 18:07Speaker 2: on her sixty sixth birthday, which was July the fifth,
- 18:11Speaker 2: and I wanted a lot of people to be there,
- 18:15Speaker 2: but I realized, and I say this all the time,
- 18:18Speaker 2: whoever is meant to be there will be there. Who
- 18:21Speaker 2: is not meant to be their won't And it has
- 18:23Speaker 2: nothing to do with anything other than God needs people
- 18:28Speaker 2: to be there in that moment. And I will say
- 18:31Speaker 2: that all the books that I ordered, I sold all
- 18:35Speaker 2: of them at the book signing that was my very
- 18:39Speaker 2: first one, and I sold some of my other books
- 18:43Speaker 2: as well.
- 18:44Speaker 3: I didn't anticipate doing that.
- 18:46Speaker 2: However, it was a blessing and it was a beautiful moment.
- 18:52Speaker 2: I didn't take a lot of pictures or a lot
- 18:54Speaker 2: of things because I was enjoying the moment in space.
- 18:58Speaker 7: Now.
- 18:59Speaker 2: One thing about the event that bothered me was I
- 19:04Speaker 2: had my dad came, and I'm grateful that he but
- 19:08Speaker 2: in moments of the event, he was trying to make
- 19:11Speaker 2: it about himself and it was not about him, and
- 19:17Speaker 2: all I could do was laugh because it's like, sir,
- 19:21Speaker 2: today is not about you. Today is about me and
- 19:24Speaker 2: what I'm doing. And so I just let him have
- 19:28Speaker 2: his little pity party. But I kept enjoying what I
- 19:31Speaker 2: was doing.
- 19:33Speaker 3: And you know, there are.
- 19:35Speaker 2: Gonna be people that are gonna come around who want
- 19:38Speaker 2: to make whatever it is that you're doing about them,
- 19:41Speaker 2: and you gotta know how to redirect the energy, because
- 19:44Speaker 2: I could have let him take away from me and
- 19:48Speaker 2: just be down in that moment, but I did it.
- 19:52Speaker 2: And it took my brother calling me. He was like,
- 19:55Speaker 2: have you talked to your dad? He's still in his
- 19:57Speaker 2: village event last week, and I was like, no, he
- 20:01Speaker 2: ain't called me with that.
- 20:02Speaker 3: So we are we good? You know, I'm not mad
- 20:06Speaker 3: at him or anything like it. You know, what do
- 20:13Speaker 3: you guys?
- 20:14Speaker 2: Do you when you have a situation that you're faced
- 20:17Speaker 2: with that's similar, if not somewhat the exact thing, how
- 20:22Speaker 2: do you handle that? It doesn't matter who answerbody can answer,
- 20:31Speaker 2: you know, oh go ahead, sorry, I think you handled it,
- 20:39Speaker 2: you know fine? I think, And because I've been in
- 20:42Speaker 2: a lot of situations myself, and you know, initially, you know,
- 20:46Speaker 2: you're you're irritated by it, because you know, how can
- 20:49Speaker 2: somebody come to your event making it about them? But
- 20:52Speaker 2: I think you handle it just fine by letting them
- 20:55Speaker 2: have their moment. I think in thosetions for me, I
- 20:59Speaker 2: wouldn't pay them no attention because it is about you,
- 21:03Speaker 2: and I feel that I don't like to let take,
- 21:08Speaker 2: you know, that energy from me. I don't like let
- 21:12Speaker 2: people make I don't like to let anybody make me
- 21:14Speaker 2: feel any type of way. So in those moments, I
- 21:17Speaker 2: take control of that, even if I have to say,
- 21:21Speaker 2: you know, this is not about you, this is my day.
- 21:24Speaker 2: Sometimes have to make it that plain, but egen, and
- 21:28Speaker 2: it's something that I say often. You know, when you
- 21:30Speaker 2: have these events, the people who are supposed to be there,
- 21:33Speaker 2: will be there, and so I used to get wrapped
- 21:36Speaker 2: up and then you get all these people that saying, oh,
- 21:38Speaker 2: I'm coming or I'll be there, but then when the
- 21:40Speaker 2: actual day come, they're not there. So I always tell
- 21:44Speaker 2: people all the time in those moments, the people are
- 21:46Speaker 2: supposed to be there will be there for you, or
- 21:49Speaker 2: the people that need to be there. And I think
- 21:52Speaker 2: that's the people that you want to be there because
- 21:53Speaker 2: it's more meaningful. The love is genuine, the love is real.
- 21:57Speaker 2: But I think you handle it well, which is something
- 22:00Speaker 2: I would do, is just let you have your moment,
- 22:01Speaker 2: but at the same time stay, you know, in basking
- 22:04Speaker 2: in that moment. That is for me, not letting them
- 22:08Speaker 2: take over that moment.
- 22:10Speaker 3: Yeah, that's really good. I agree with author Fair.
- 22:15Speaker 4: And it's funny because I'm like, I was gonna piggyback
- 22:17Speaker 4: off of her, but she literally said exactly what I
- 22:19Speaker 4: wanted to say. It's something that you know, I've learned
- 22:22Speaker 4: in the last couple of years as God has been
- 22:24Speaker 4: like positioning me to the forefront if you know me,
- 22:26Speaker 4: and my sister says it all. She's like, you know,
- 22:28Speaker 4: you always shy to the back I'm like, because you know,
- 22:31Speaker 4: I don't really want the spotlight. You know, it doesn't
- 22:32Speaker 4: necessarily have to be about me. But in the season
- 22:35Speaker 4: that I'm in, God is showing me that it's not
- 22:37Speaker 4: necessarily about me per se, It's about Him getting the
- 22:40Speaker 4: glory through me. And so I had to learn to
- 22:43Speaker 4: realize that in those moments, if there is somebody who
- 22:47Speaker 4: you know, is trying to take my day, like, I
- 22:49Speaker 4: will fall back and let.
- 22:50Speaker 3: Them have their moment.
- 22:51Speaker 4: But then God starts showing me that he allows people
- 22:53Speaker 4: to gravitate towards me anyway, so they can't take, you know,
- 22:58Speaker 4: in a way because it is not about them have
- 23:01Speaker 4: your moment. But God will start showing me like as
- 23:03Speaker 4: he just brings people towards me, like okay, like now
- 23:05Speaker 4: let's get back a position and do what you're supposed
- 23:07Speaker 4: to be to do anyway, So good, And I have.
- 23:14Speaker 7: To agree with the with the autie I'm currently and
- 23:19Speaker 7: I'm gonna say, my secular job, my my career or
- 23:23Speaker 7: or my career is actually in leadership manager. So the
- 23:29Speaker 7: current situation I'm in, it is not management. So I
- 23:34Speaker 7: had to humble myself in the process of of of
- 23:39Speaker 7: the turn of events that happened. So long story short,
- 23:42Speaker 7: we I had. I'm just gonna say an administrative assistant.
- 23:46Speaker 7: That's what I was signed to do at this particular event,
- 23:49Speaker 7: and turnament out Like you said, I'm always used to
- 23:52Speaker 7: being in the forefront, you know, I told you I'm shy,
- 23:55Speaker 7: but God has put me in a position in a sense,
- 23:58Speaker 7: while I'm always in the print. Now on the spiritual side,
- 24:02Speaker 7: I'm studying to be a minister. I'll be ordained next year.
- 24:06Speaker 7: But I'm in a church. I do have like a
- 24:09Speaker 7: little big mouth, but when it comes to the bishop,
- 24:11Speaker 7: I'm like a little kid. I don't say anything. So
- 24:14Speaker 7: it's just like it's this kind of funny how stuff happens.
- 24:17Speaker 7: I'm trying to be more vocal in my spiritual walk,
- 24:20Speaker 7: but as you stated, I'm trying to learn to speak
- 24:23Speaker 7: when necessary. And this project that I had currently, I'm
- 24:27Speaker 7: not jumping trying to get everything out. The project that
- 24:30Speaker 7: I had worked on, I was in the background, but
- 24:35Speaker 7: the CEO had gave me a shout out in front
- 24:38Speaker 7: of one hundred people, and I.
- 24:40Speaker 6: Was so overwhelmed.
- 24:41Speaker 7: It was for a sponsorship. I raised my organization over
- 24:45Speaker 7: one hundred thousand dollars. You know, I like to talk sometimes,
- 24:49Speaker 7: so I had to do all these calls. And when
- 24:52Speaker 7: they showed all these people show up for the event,
- 24:55Speaker 7: I was so overwhelmed because I couldn't believe this was me.
- 25:00Speaker 7: But this God said, this is you. This is why
- 25:01Speaker 7: I'm calling.
- 25:02Speaker 6: He's moving in.
- 25:04Speaker 7: A way that's like, oh my God, I'm.
- 25:07Speaker 6: I'm just like wow.
- 25:09Speaker 7: And she gave me a shout out. And then when
- 25:11Speaker 7: she finally said that, she said, Charlotte, I see you. Now.
- 25:14Speaker 7: This one has switched my position four times in the
- 25:17Speaker 7: last year, so I can't say anything but the last
- 25:21Speaker 7: this is the last time I've been shifted to another position.
- 25:26Speaker 7: And this time God said yes, I didn't have to
- 25:28Speaker 7: fight for it. I didn't have to cause I told
- 25:31Speaker 7: the Lord I wasn't gonna ask her again and turn
- 25:34Speaker 7: around when I was quite and then what I was
- 25:36Speaker 7: supposed to do, He pushed me to the forefront. And
- 25:39Speaker 7: this time she said, yes, amen, amen, amen, yes, listen.
- 25:47Speaker 3: I will say this.
- 25:49Speaker 2: You all have touched on something that God has been
- 25:52Speaker 2: saying to me in the last couple of weeks, and
- 25:55Speaker 2: I have been, you know, just trying.
- 25:57Speaker 3: To in the bag with it.
- 26:00Speaker 2: But it is basically this God has been saying, you
- 26:04Speaker 2: were never hidden.
- 26:06Speaker 3: You are seen when it's your time. And so.
- 26:12Speaker 2: I always say each and every time I do on
- 26:15Speaker 2: these shows, God gives me confirmation that I am on
- 26:18Speaker 2: the right path and I'm doing what I'm supposed to
- 26:20Speaker 2: be doing. And it blows my mind every single time.
- 26:24Speaker 2: It's always something and I guess I should be used
- 26:28Speaker 2: to this by now, but I'm not. I haven't got
- 26:31Speaker 2: used to this. But it's the confirmation that he said.
- 26:35Speaker 2: And I was trying to, you know, just take my
- 26:38Speaker 2: bath of mind, my business, you know, have my a
- 26:40Speaker 2: long time. But God always which anyway, and he was like,
- 26:45Speaker 2: you were never hidden. You were in a space to
- 26:49Speaker 2: where those who needed to see you have always seen you.
- 26:53Speaker 2: It is now time for you to see what they
- 26:56Speaker 2: have always known and what always seen. So your spotlight
- 27:01Speaker 2: is waiting for you to step in. And so that
- 27:05Speaker 2: is what's happening in many of our lives right now,
- 27:08Speaker 2: is that our spotlight is ready for us to take
- 27:11Speaker 2: the stand, and you gotta be ready to step in.
- 27:16Speaker 2: God never he doesn't call for you. He doesn't qualify
- 27:21Speaker 2: the call. Hell qualifies the call. So if He's called
- 27:24Speaker 2: you to do something. He knows that you're capable of
- 27:27Speaker 2: doing it because it's everything that you've needed inside of you.
- 27:31Speaker 2: And it's time for us to actually walk in our
- 27:34Speaker 2: purpose and walk with intention and everything that He puts
- 27:39Speaker 2: forth in front of us. Because He will provide you
- 27:42Speaker 2: with a vision. And sometimes we get stuck on how
- 27:45Speaker 2: are we going to make this vision of reality? We
- 27:48Speaker 2: get stuck on the little things. And God said, I
- 27:51Speaker 2: never asked you to provide anything. I just need you
- 27:55Speaker 2: to be obedient to the instructions that I've given. So
- 27:58Speaker 2: if I told you to go straight and then turn
- 28:02Speaker 2: left at the stops, and that's what I need you
- 28:04Speaker 2: to do. He's the GPS of our lives. He knows
- 28:06Speaker 2: exactly he wants us to go. We just gotta be
- 28:10Speaker 2: obedient to doing that. We get so.
- 28:13Speaker 3: Caught up in our own free will.
- 28:15Speaker 2: That we tend to do what we want to do,
- 28:18Speaker 2: and then GPS will say rerouting. That's God saying I
- 28:22Speaker 2: didn't send you on that path. Get back over here,
- 28:25Speaker 2: stay on the path that I told you, because you're
- 28:28Speaker 2: gonna be rerouted. You gonna take a detour that I
- 28:31Speaker 2: never intended for you to take. Because everything was mapped
- 28:35Speaker 2: out the way I had it for you. Even if
- 28:38Speaker 2: it looks like it's dark, if you keep walking through
- 28:41Speaker 2: the darkness, you will soon find the light. But you
- 28:44Speaker 2: gotta go through some darkness to get to the light.
- 28:47Speaker 2: But we don't always want to go through that. We
- 28:49Speaker 2: want to sit there and be like, it's supposed to
- 28:51Speaker 2: be perfect. I'm not supposed to see because God ain't
- 28:54Speaker 2: gonna show you everything. If he showed you everything here,
- 28:58Speaker 2: make you through, you'll turn around and say, God, I
- 29:00Speaker 2: don't want that.
- 29:01Speaker 3: I don't want that at all.
- 29:03Speaker 2: You know, he gonna tell you, I know this what
- 29:08Speaker 2: you asked me for. So your drive, your determination, your
- 29:11Speaker 2: gifts and your talents and your purpose is all tied
- 29:14Speaker 2: up into those dark moments.
- 29:17Speaker 3: I wrote a poem.
- 29:18Speaker 2: One time I was in the hospital, y'all. I was
- 29:21Speaker 2: in the hospital. I was in the hallway, waiting in
- 29:23Speaker 2: the wheelchair, getting ready to go and have an MRI done,
- 29:28Speaker 2: and all of that poem became. It was darkness. And
- 29:32Speaker 2: what I was thinking about when I wrote that poem
- 29:35Speaker 2: was I'm going into this tunnel because I have KRII
- 29:38Speaker 2: my information, and so I was going into the tunnel
- 29:40Speaker 2: to find out what was going on, what was happening,
- 29:44Speaker 2: if there was any changes, because I had a brain
- 29:46Speaker 2: aneurism also, and so they were checking to see if
- 29:50Speaker 2: it had moved or anything like that. But I was
- 29:53Speaker 2: thinking about going into that tunnel and at the bottom,
- 29:57Speaker 2: like I'm going head first, all I can and see
- 30:00Speaker 2: it's my feet. But at the end there is light.
- 30:03Speaker 2: But at the top there's nothing but darkness. At my head,
- 30:07Speaker 2: so there's all that. But if I looked at my feet,
- 30:11Speaker 2: there was the light, and my feet were gonna touch
- 30:14Speaker 2: the light before my head did. So I had to
- 30:16Speaker 2: stay focused on that. And so I think that's a
- 30:20Speaker 2: good metaphor for most of us. When you're in that darkness,
- 30:23Speaker 2: if your feet keep moving, you will soon be out
- 30:26Speaker 2: of that darkness. You just got able to keep going
- 30:30Speaker 2: because we get stuck. We don't see that God has
- 30:33Speaker 2: taking us through this to get us to our breakthrough.
- 30:36Speaker 2: Now I'm gonna ask another question, because I'll keep going
- 30:39Speaker 2: and talking about God and what he gonna.
- 30:41Speaker 3: Do, and we'll be here all night.
- 30:43Speaker 2: And I don't want to do that because and y'all
- 30:45Speaker 2: just playing to talk and y'all can ask questions.
- 30:47Speaker 3: Too, like y'all got to come on here.
- 30:52Speaker 2: Now, what fears if there was any him you had
- 31:00Speaker 2: doing your writing process for this book. Was there anything
- 31:04Speaker 2: that you had a fear of when you started to
- 31:08Speaker 2: write for the book?
- 31:13Speaker 3: Look, I always go first. I'm like, I'm that girl, I.
- 31:16Speaker 4: Like, I think for me even though like we weren't
- 31:23Speaker 4: necessarily caught on guard with it. It was like I
- 31:26Speaker 4: wasn't necessarily in the space mentally writing when I wrote
- 31:30Speaker 4: my first book. I wasn't necessarily you know, aspiring to
- 31:33Speaker 4: be an author. Like God told me to write the
- 31:35Speaker 4: book to help me get out of the situation that
- 31:38Speaker 4: I was in. And I don't think that he meant
- 31:40Speaker 4: monetarily either, you know, it was it was more so
- 31:42Speaker 4: it was a key of obedience, you know, to help
- 31:44Speaker 4: me get to that next step. And so when the
- 31:46Speaker 4: opportunity came to do Sacred Seeds of Wisdom, I had
- 31:50Speaker 4: no intentions of writing again, you know. And so now
- 31:53Speaker 4: I have to dig back into that deep places and
- 31:55Speaker 4: figure out you know, not only like what am I
- 31:57Speaker 4: going to talk about going to be relatable? And so
- 32:01Speaker 4: I wrote, if you know, in my first book, I
- 32:03Speaker 4: use a lot of references, you know, Bible scripts, like
- 32:05Speaker 4: I'm a Bible girl, like I love the word. It's
- 32:08Speaker 4: just something that has been a very necessary too, like
- 32:10Speaker 4: in my life over the last you know, probably fifteen years,
- 32:14Speaker 4: and so that's my default. And so I've talked about
- 32:18Speaker 4: you know, being alone or letting you know, women know
- 32:20Speaker 4: that you are not alone. And so I used women
- 32:23Speaker 4: in the Bible who went through situations that we currently
- 32:26Speaker 4: go through now just to say like, you're we're not
- 32:29Speaker 4: even knowing.
- 32:29Speaker 3: We're not even the first people.
- 32:30Speaker 4: Our moms and our grandmas are not even the first
- 32:32Speaker 4: people to go through this. This goes all the way
- 32:34Speaker 4: back to you know, Sarah and Abraham, you know, just
- 32:37Speaker 4: being obedient sacrificing the sun, and Sarah having to intercede
- 32:40Speaker 4: for her son. Probably what she was doing was walking
- 32:43Speaker 4: him to you know, going to sacrifice him. And so
- 32:47Speaker 4: I really just want to be intentional. And sometimes like
- 32:49Speaker 4: I get in my head like I know, I love
- 32:50Speaker 4: the word. But then I've had conversations with people that
- 32:53Speaker 4: are like, maybe just have a regular conversation, don't always
- 32:56Speaker 4: go to the Bible. And I'm like, and these have
- 32:59Speaker 4: been you know, Christian people is telling me that, and
- 33:01Speaker 4: I'm like, well, I try not to. So then I'm like,
- 33:03Speaker 4: now I'm wrestling with myself like, well, am I two churchy?
- 33:06Speaker 3: You know, doesn't sound authentic. But then God was like.
- 33:09Speaker 4: You're like, if you don't get my word out there,
- 33:10Speaker 4: because that's what you're supposed to be doing, you know.
- 33:13Speaker 4: So you are inspiring women, you're encouraging yourself, you're being obedient,
- 33:18Speaker 4: and you know you you spreading my work.
- 33:22Speaker 3: Yeah, And so.
- 33:25Speaker 4: That fear like of overcoming the fear of worrying about
- 33:28Speaker 4: if to be related, if people are going to want
- 33:31Speaker 4: to understand, and also just praying that maybe you know
- 33:33Speaker 4: the things that I write about, maybe it will encourage
- 33:35Speaker 4: somebody to go look up the Bible because it's relevant
- 33:38Speaker 4: and it's where we are today, and you will find
- 33:40Speaker 4: something to help you navigate where you are.
- 33:42Speaker 3: If you just pick up the word, you know. So
- 33:45Speaker 3: I had to really push myself through that.
- 33:49Speaker 2: I'm just stand that completely. I would like to peggyback
- 33:53Speaker 2: off of what Mishana just said. As we grow older
- 34:00Speaker 2: and we have more experiences. I don't know about you, ladies,
- 34:05Speaker 2: but I just can't imagine not going to the word
- 34:13Speaker 2: because I've made so many silly, stupid, unconscionable mistakes. And
- 34:24Speaker 2: you said this, mister Traveda. You said that thing about
- 34:28Speaker 2: free will you know that will? Those two words get
- 34:32Speaker 2: people in so much trouble and sometimes and I don't
- 34:40Speaker 2: I hope I'm not offending anyone because I love an
- 34:44Speaker 2: educated person. But I have a lot of educated people
- 34:48Speaker 2: around me, and sometimes they are fools. Yeah, I don't
- 34:54Speaker 2: mean any harm by it, but instead of them relying
- 34:58Speaker 2: on the and the word that they've been taught, they
- 35:03Speaker 2: rely more on their responses, like they need to just
- 35:09Speaker 2: say what Confucius said in Aristotle. I mean, don't get
- 35:12Speaker 2: me wrong, it's a lot of people that are well read,
- 35:15Speaker 2: being well rendered me that you beat people overhead with
- 35:18Speaker 2: these practices that we all know is junk. If you
- 35:23Speaker 2: do not do what's right, right's not going to follow you.
- 35:28Speaker 2: I'm I'm from Alabama and a lot of my upbringing
- 35:36Speaker 2: was the word.
- 35:37Speaker 6: I mean.
- 35:38Speaker 2: At three years old, my mother's mother and my beat
- 35:41Speaker 2: mama taught me to twenty third song, which is one
- 35:43Speaker 2: of my favorites.
- 35:46Speaker 5: So no, there should not be any fear or shame.
- 35:51Speaker 5: Now do I fear? Sometimes when I'm striking, I know
- 35:54Speaker 5: something new.
- 35:55Speaker 6: I'm sixty four years old. You better believe it.
- 36:00Speaker 7: Us.
- 36:00Speaker 6: What is the devil going to do.
- 36:03Speaker 2: When Tony says, because I'm speaking only for me, when I'm.
- 36:07Speaker 5: Trying to do new girl, you know you're but old
- 36:10Speaker 5: old and these young girls they got it. They know
- 36:14Speaker 5: what they're doing and you don't. If you know what
- 36:16Speaker 5: I do. I surround myself around a lot of y'all
- 36:20Speaker 5: young girls, and y'all share a lot and y'all are
- 36:25Speaker 5: nice about it. Y'all share a lot of information with me.
- 36:30Speaker 5: And that's exactly what a lot of y'all call me,
- 36:32Speaker 5: Miss Tony. Have you thought about this, miss Tony, let's
- 36:35Speaker 5: do this.
- 36:36Speaker 6: Listen.
- 36:39Speaker 5: In twenty twenty five, brown and black women were running
- 36:45Speaker 5: a lot of stuff.
- 36:47Speaker 6: We're not just running our homes anymore.
- 36:50Speaker 2: We're running these jobs, we're running the we're entrepreneurs.
- 36:55Speaker 6: People are really jealous.
- 36:56Speaker 5: Of us because they know well to hold us back.
- 37:01Speaker 5: And you know who the day is that they is
- 37:04Speaker 5: a lot of folk. They come in, a lot of
- 37:06Speaker 5: clus absolute and they.
- 37:09Speaker 6: Female and they male.
- 37:13Speaker 2: M Yeah, I'll see a lot of affirmations from that,
- 37:17Speaker 2: but we're not landing that top us.
- 37:25Speaker 6: What keeps me going is I'm always motivated to not lay.
- 37:31Speaker 5: Down and just die because somebody want me to because
- 37:35Speaker 5: they may because they don't. They've not developed in their
- 37:39Speaker 5: own mind to just get up and do something, do
- 37:43Speaker 5: something to help yourself.
- 37:45Speaker 2: We can all wallow, but the self pity thing, it's overrated.
- 37:51Speaker 2: Are you taking time to do all that you could
- 37:53Speaker 2: have been?
- 37:53Speaker 6: A sold fifteen books? If you get up and.
- 37:55Speaker 3: Write absolutely.
- 38:01Speaker 2: Anything you want to do, you can actually do a
- 38:05Speaker 2: lot of times we stand in our own way because
- 38:09Speaker 2: of what someone else is gonna say. I had a
- 38:12Speaker 2: conversation with my baby sister the other day and she
- 38:16Speaker 2: was asking me why does she keep interacting or experience
- 38:23Speaker 2: in the same situations. And my response to her was
- 38:27Speaker 2: is because you keep open for the foolishness that you
- 38:31Speaker 2: invite in. And I've always told her you can either
- 38:35Speaker 2: go to the circus to watch the show, or you
- 38:38Speaker 2: sign in to be a performer. So whichever one you decide,
- 38:42Speaker 2: that's the.
- 38:42Speaker 3: Role you take on.
- 38:44Speaker 2: And so she's like, why do you always say that,
- 38:47Speaker 2: I said, because if you going to watch the show,
- 38:51Speaker 2: then you purchase a ticket. If you're going to perform,
- 38:55Speaker 2: you gonna put your clown uniform on and you go perform.
- 38:58Speaker 2: It knows what you're going to do until you show up.
- 39:03Speaker 2: So however you choose to show up at the circus,
- 39:07Speaker 2: that's the role you take. I'm going to watch the show,
- 39:11Speaker 2: which means I'm gonna purchase a ticket. I'm not participating
- 39:14Speaker 2: in anything that is foolishness. So therefore you choose to
- 39:20Speaker 2: interact with the drama that you invite in. If you
- 39:24Speaker 2: don't want nobody coming into your house when they knock
- 39:28Speaker 2: on your dough, you ei just just answer or not.
- 39:32Speaker 2: So if you keep answering, guess what you keep receiving
- 39:36Speaker 2: what you ask for.
- 39:38Speaker 3: I said so I told.
- 39:39Speaker 2: Everybody a few years ago when everybody would ask me, well,
- 39:44Speaker 2: why I don't see you nowhere? Because I'm nowhere that
- 39:47Speaker 2: God hasn't called me to be. If it's not on
- 39:49Speaker 2: God's schedule for me, maybe I'm not showing up because
- 39:52Speaker 2: I'm not supposed to be there. So you're not seeing
- 39:55Speaker 2: me where God didn't call me to be. So I'm
- 39:59Speaker 2: off where God has assigned me. If he didn't assigned
- 40:03Speaker 2: me to beat up baby, you ain't gonna see me.
- 40:04Speaker 2: Ain't no need for you to even ask him. When
- 40:08Speaker 2: God didn't say I needed to show up here, He
- 40:10Speaker 2: didn't put it on my itinerary.
- 40:11Speaker 3: He didn't put it on my schedule. He didn't put
- 40:14Speaker 3: it on my to do this.
- 40:15Speaker 2: So I don't show up in places where I don't
- 40:17Speaker 2: need to show up at so and is just what
- 40:20Speaker 2: it is.
- 40:21Speaker 3: I don't know that's just me.
- 40:23Speaker 2: But miss Christina, what piece of this book would you
- 40:30Speaker 2: like for any of the readers to take from what
- 40:33Speaker 2: you wrote in the book?
- 40:35Speaker 8: I think you know we like I can't remember exactly
- 40:39Speaker 8: who said, I think it was Tony, but we as women,
- 40:43Speaker 8: we take on a lot of responsibilities, and we are
- 40:46Speaker 8: wearing a lot of hats. And we aren't just in
- 40:47Speaker 8: the home, in the home or at the work in
- 40:51Speaker 8: multiple places. And not only are we at home and
- 40:55Speaker 8: in the workplace, we have cobbies and you know, different
- 40:59Speaker 8: things that we do munity that we have to show
- 41:01Speaker 8: up for. And so people always expect for us to
- 41:04Speaker 8: show up because we've always presented as you know, the
- 41:08Speaker 8: strong person, the person that can juggle and manage all
- 41:11Speaker 8: of these things. And when gets sick, or when we
- 41:15Speaker 8: aren't having the best day, or our attitude is a
- 41:19Speaker 8: little bit off, or we're going through something that's dramatic,
- 41:26Speaker 8: we're still showing up in all of those spaces, and
- 41:30Speaker 8: what I wanted people to understand was we have to heal,
- 41:37Speaker 8: and in order to heal, sometimes you have to take
- 41:38Speaker 8: a break from all of those things. You can't get
- 41:41Speaker 8: all things to all people either you are not taking.
- 41:44Speaker 7: Care of yourself.
- 41:46Speaker 8: And you know, I've been in spaces and places with
- 41:49Speaker 8: certain people of certain colors, and if they big told
- 41:54Speaker 8: her they're going to the doctor and they're gonna take off,
- 41:56Speaker 8: they're gonna get a medical lead form.
- 41:59Speaker 7: They don't.
- 42:00Speaker 8: But HML is your what is it? F m lam
- 42:05Speaker 8: LA And you know their time. When it's time for
- 42:09Speaker 8: their vacations, they gonna take their vacations. And you better
- 42:12Speaker 8: not call them when you know when they have something
- 42:15Speaker 8: planning for the day or for the evening, they are out.
- 42:18Speaker 8: But we be sitting around trying to do all of
- 42:21Speaker 8: these things, and then when it's our turn, we be sitting,
- 42:25Speaker 8: you know, feeling guilty about the fact that we sick
- 42:29Speaker 8: or we have had it going on so or we
- 42:32Speaker 8: need to take some time, or we need to take
- 42:34Speaker 8: a mental health day. I want people to know it
- 42:37Speaker 8: is okay to kill have to heal ourselves. We have
- 42:42Speaker 8: to fill our clubs. We gotta take a if we
- 42:45Speaker 8: need to take a mental health break if we need
- 42:47Speaker 8: to go and do our own f m l A
- 42:51Speaker 8: and take some time off their work so we can
- 42:53Speaker 8: take care of ourselves so that we can come back
- 42:56Speaker 8: and be one hundred percent, because yes, ma'am, we are
- 42:58Speaker 8: going to show up, and yes, ma'am, I'm going to give,
- 43:01Speaker 8: and yes, ma'am, we can juggle a lot of things.
- 43:04Speaker 8: But we also need a break too sometimes, and so
- 43:06Speaker 8: while we're taking those breaks, we need to be working
- 43:09Speaker 8: on ourselves and filling our cups so we can come
- 43:11Speaker 8: back and show up.
- 43:13Speaker 1: And that's what.
- 43:18Speaker 2: I always people. You can't pour from an empty cup.
- 43:22Speaker 2: Everything that you have in your cup is supposed to
- 43:25Speaker 2: be the overflow that people get from me. And if
- 43:30Speaker 2: they don't want to take the overflow, then they don't
- 43:32Speaker 2: want to take nothing from you anyway, because what's in
- 43:34Speaker 2: my cup is in my cup if I give you
- 43:37Speaker 2: more than what you're supposed to have. And I learned
- 43:40Speaker 2: to cut people off in a heartbeat. Now as I've
- 43:45Speaker 2: gotten older, I don't have time to be depleted. I
- 43:50Speaker 2: got what I got because God gave it to me,
- 43:53Speaker 2: and ever since my mom passed, I'm standing even more
- 43:57Speaker 2: fun on that than I was before because my mom
- 44:02Speaker 2: taught me something to live life on your own terms,
- 44:07Speaker 2: by your means. People always said that my mom was crazy, this, that,
- 44:12Speaker 2: and the third. But I don't believe she was crazy.
- 44:16Speaker 2: I believe that she was not properly diagnosed early on.
- 44:20Speaker 2: But when you come from a family who breaks your
- 44:23Speaker 2: spirit very early, it it's a downward spiral, and I
- 44:29Speaker 2: believe that they're trying to do the same to me.
- 44:31Speaker 2: But my mama I got the strong willcover to know end.
- 44:41Speaker 2: That's why my kids say I'm a hard headed parent
- 44:44Speaker 2: that they don't really know what they're gonna do with
- 44:46Speaker 2: because I don't listen to nothing. But I believe that
- 44:50Speaker 2: God instilled that in me for many many reasons. Number one,
- 44:55Speaker 2: I had a stroke at the age of thirty, diagnosed
- 44:58Speaker 2: with the brain anurism of the time, lost the use
- 45:01Speaker 2: of my left side twenty and thirteen. I lost my
- 45:04Speaker 2: ability to speak, I lost my ability to walk.
- 45:07Speaker 3: All these things, and I was hard headed.
- 45:11Speaker 2: I drove myself to the hospital the first time so
- 45:15Speaker 2: because I refused to get in the ambulance. By the
- 45:18Speaker 2: time I got to the hospital, I could not feel
- 45:20Speaker 2: my left side at all. I got fussed out of
- 45:23Speaker 2: course by the nursing team and the doctor, and every
- 45:27Speaker 2: time one of them came in, did I hear right,
- 45:30Speaker 2: COVID you did? I absolutely did. I ain't gonna lie
- 45:33Speaker 2: to y'all talked, Yeah, I did it. So I am
- 45:37Speaker 2: very stubborn. I am very hard headed. But God put
- 45:41Speaker 2: that in me for many reasons, and I'm slowly learning
- 45:45Speaker 2: those reasons. Because number one, I am four eight. People
- 45:49Speaker 2: tend to look at me like a little kid.
- 45:51Speaker 3: Half the time. I'm forty six years old.
- 45:54Speaker 2: People don't believe I'm forty six because I'm sure, and
- 45:57Speaker 2: they still say I got a little babyface. Ily have
- 46:00Speaker 2: many reapers right now, but I got the gray hair.
- 46:03Speaker 3: So it is what it is.
- 46:05Speaker 2: But I've had to stand on me and stand in
- 46:11Speaker 2: what it is that I'm trying to get people to understand.
- 46:14Speaker 2: And being in a professional setting where you are the
- 46:18Speaker 2: only one of color in those places, it's hard sometimes.
- 46:22Speaker 2: And I've been told that when I speak it's harsh.
- 46:27Speaker 2: No it's not harsh. It's direct, and it's to the
- 46:30Speaker 2: poor and most of them are used to being coddle.
- 46:34Speaker 2: I'm not here to coddle your feelings. I'm here to
- 46:37Speaker 2: get a job done. And if you can't take how
- 46:40Speaker 2: I'm saying something to you, because it's not oh baby,
- 46:43Speaker 2: I need you to do I'm sorry. I'm not about
- 46:46Speaker 2: to do that, and I'm not about to change my
- 46:48Speaker 2: tone to make you feel comfortable. Either you're gonna get
- 46:51Speaker 2: it or you don't. But I'm not making any apology
- 46:54Speaker 2: for who I am. If you take someone mean direct
- 46:58Speaker 2: with you, that's not problem. Again, that's a personal problem.
- 47:03Speaker 2: And having to say that to people who are higher
- 47:06Speaker 2: up and a different race than myself, it tends to
- 47:10Speaker 2: make them uncomfortable. And I've had to say I'm sorry
- 47:14Speaker 2: that you feel uncomfortable. But you saying this to me,
- 47:18Speaker 2: how do you think that makes me feel? Because I
- 47:20Speaker 2: can be uncomfortable too because you feel as if you
- 47:25Speaker 2: outrank me. But in the lack of knowledge, you're still
- 47:28Speaker 2: asking me to help you, and that you don't have
- 47:31Speaker 2: the knowledge to do what you want me to tone
- 47:34Speaker 2: myself down because you can't handle direct communication. Again, that's
- 47:39Speaker 2: a personal problem, and know I won't change for that.
- 47:42Speaker 2: So learning to stand firm on who you are in
- 47:47Speaker 2: spaces where you're usually outnumbered is usually how it goes.
- 47:53Speaker 2: But when you know who you are, you know the
- 47:56Speaker 2: value that you provide, you will understand their absence.
- 48:01Speaker 3: There's going to be a hard time.
- 48:03Speaker 2: I've been I ain't gonna say I've been on vacation
- 48:07Speaker 2: for these last couple of months, but y'all, I've been resting.
- 48:10Speaker 2: I've been home, and my daughter has taken over my
- 48:14Speaker 2: position at the urgent care facility where I work. And
- 48:18Speaker 2: it's funny because I've been gone, but do you know
- 48:22Speaker 2: what they say? They tell my daughter to call me
- 48:25Speaker 2: when there's something that they don't know how to do,
- 48:29Speaker 2: and funny.
- 48:31Speaker 3: And so I went in.
- 48:33Speaker 2: And work, just picking up a couple of hours because
- 48:36Speaker 2: I was bored.
- 48:37Speaker 3: I ain't having to do at the house and I
- 48:38Speaker 3: was tired of sit them in the house.
- 48:39Speaker 2: So I went in and I said, Okay, well have
- 48:41Speaker 2: you guys, you know, ordered these supplies.
- 48:44Speaker 3: Well, no, we haven't ordered them since you left.
- 48:47Speaker 2: Okay, but you guys realize I've been gone for a month, right,
- 48:51Speaker 2: and you have only one of these things left.
- 48:54Speaker 3: You guys are gonna need these supplies.
- 48:58Speaker 2: Like what Well told, listen to understand the power of
- 49:05Speaker 2: your presence and know in your absence it is felt.
- 49:10Speaker 2: And people don't understand the value that you provide for
- 49:14Speaker 2: them until you're no longer in that space. And I
- 49:17Speaker 2: said that a long time ago. And this was me
- 49:22Speaker 2: just learning my own self and my own power. So
- 49:27Speaker 2: what would you say, and this goes for everybody, what
- 49:30Speaker 2: would you want people to learn that? What seed would
- 49:35Speaker 2: you want to leave with someone or even your younger
- 49:37Speaker 2: self is something that you would have wanted to know
- 49:40Speaker 2: then versus now, what would you want them to know?
- 49:47Speaker 7: It's okay to say no. I've learned that with an
- 49:50Speaker 7: as you stated, when my mother passed away, I was
- 49:53Speaker 7: there for everybody at one point. My mother was in
- 49:58Speaker 7: the hospital, my brother was in hospital, and my sister
- 50:02Speaker 7: and I was seeing them on all of them on
- 50:06Speaker 7: a regular basis. But me but to break my elbow
- 50:10Speaker 7: before my mother transition to realize, hey, you're one person
- 50:16Speaker 7: you need to ask for help. So now, as miss
- 50:19Speaker 7: Tony said, I just turned sixty in June, and I
- 50:23Speaker 7: don't give a oo haha. He doesn't like me. I
- 50:27Speaker 7: say no on a regular basis. I took a Charlotte day.
- 50:32Speaker 7: If I'm not in the mood, I let people know
- 50:36Speaker 7: in a nice fashion. You know, I'm having a moment,
- 50:39Speaker 7: and that's it. And and I don't feel guilty about it.
- 50:42Speaker 7: I say no and don't feel guilty about it. So
- 50:45Speaker 7: that's what the youngest self, my younger self, I will
- 50:48Speaker 7: tell them. Learn to say no and and starting to
- 50:51Speaker 7: stand firm when you know and it's okay because you
- 50:54Speaker 7: only got one life to live once you leave this
- 50:57Speaker 7: world and know it's hopefully you know, I believe there
- 51:01Speaker 7: is a heaven. That's what I know. I said, a
- 51:03Speaker 7: mighty God, and I know I'm going to heaven. That's
- 51:06Speaker 7: my plan.
- 51:07Speaker 2: To go to heaven.
- 51:08Speaker 7: But I want to. I always just feel that in
- 51:10Speaker 7: my daughters, you know, just be your own person. Also,
- 51:13Speaker 7: learn to say no. You and I'm trying to whisper.
- 51:16Speaker 7: I noticed that when my the daughter I'm staying with,
- 51:20Speaker 7: she is more like me. And I told her I
- 51:22Speaker 7: don't want her to be like me. Learn to say no,
- 51:25Speaker 7: you know, because she always wants to help people. And
- 51:28Speaker 7: sometimes you can't do it because you know, like you said,
- 51:31Speaker 7: we take on so many roles and it's like you know,
- 51:36Speaker 7: you said you had a stroke. We take on so
- 51:39Speaker 7: much that we are killing ourselves inside.
- 51:42Speaker 6: It's like.
- 51:45Speaker 7: Yes, and and and you know it's you know, you
- 51:47Speaker 7: got to come to a point just say no, leave
- 51:50Speaker 7: me alone, and it's no. And that's how I That's
- 51:53Speaker 7: how I've been I don't want to say move and
- 51:55Speaker 7: at this point, but that's how I've been doing it
- 51:57Speaker 7: for since twenty seventeen, and I don't and I'm not
- 52:01Speaker 7: gonna apologize for it. That's yes.
- 52:10Speaker 2: I'd like to say, encourage yourself, yes, try to encourage
- 52:18Speaker 2: someone else. Miss Travado. You said something about you can't
- 52:22Speaker 2: pour from an empty hub.
- 52:24Speaker 7: M hm.
- 52:25Speaker 2: I don't know about you, guys, but for a long
- 52:28Speaker 2: long time, I thought I was supposed to help everybody, right, I.
- 52:33Speaker 3: Think all of us in space.
- 52:36Speaker 2: Yes, until I realized when I started to kind of
- 52:39Speaker 2: get sick and kind of falter a little bit.
- 52:45Speaker 6: People kind of got used to me being in fifteen.
- 52:47Speaker 2: Places doing yes, yes, and then they were looking forward,
- 52:52Speaker 2: girl where they at? I'll be on the phone, never
- 52:55Speaker 2: said Hey, how you doing, girl?
- 52:57Speaker 3: Where you at?
- 52:58Speaker 7: Yes?
- 53:03Speaker 2: So yeah, encourage yourself first, let me let me back
- 53:11Speaker 2: up me pray first, courage yourself and encourage others, because
- 53:19Speaker 2: once you set the tone for the day of the prayer,
- 53:23Speaker 2: watching all the orders, whether you want them or not.
- 53:26Speaker 6: Because when I was a little girl, you.
- 53:29Speaker 5: Only went to the night, but I knew exactly what
- 53:32Speaker 5: she's saying.
- 53:34Speaker 2: God doesn't leave you a fool. You have a conscious
- 53:41Speaker 2: man that God talks to. You have to get still,
- 53:48Speaker 2: quiet enough to hear the small, still voice. I'm gonna
- 53:54Speaker 2: leave y'all with that, because that right there'll stop a
- 53:57Speaker 2: whole bunch of craziness if we take t got the.
- 54:07Speaker 3: Answer that.
- 54:10Speaker 4: I can answer, I would say to my younger self
- 54:15Speaker 4: or even something I had to learn is that you
- 54:17Speaker 4: know you are more than enough.
- 54:19Speaker 3: I struggled a lot.
- 54:22Speaker 4: I didn't really know it was called people pleasing or whatever,
- 54:24Speaker 4: but just wanted to be like the best friend and
- 54:28Speaker 4: the best girlfriend, and you know, just always want to
- 54:31Speaker 4: be so great at everything and for everybody. Like I
- 54:34Speaker 4: didn't realize that I was burning myself out and wearing
- 54:37Speaker 4: myself out. And then I realized too that people typically
- 54:42Speaker 4: choose themselves first. So I was choosing everybody else and
- 54:46Speaker 4: they were choosing themselves, and I was just kind of
- 54:48Speaker 4: left standing there, you know, and so I had to
- 54:50Speaker 4: really learn that. It broke me for a little bit.
- 54:53Speaker 4: It's like, well, why aren't I good enough? Or why
- 54:56Speaker 4: didn't they do it for me? Or why you know,
- 54:58Speaker 4: why don't they go as hard for me as I
- 54:59Speaker 4: go for them, And I think I'm just I'm getting
- 55:03Speaker 4: to a place where it's like, well I don't even
- 55:04Speaker 4: really care, you know. And I had to really be
- 55:07Speaker 4: int out not allowing that to change me because I
- 55:10Speaker 4: do know that that's one of my gifts and that's
- 55:12Speaker 4: what God created me to be.
- 55:13Speaker 3: He created me as a nurturer.
- 55:15Speaker 4: But I had to learn the wisdom is you cannot
- 55:18Speaker 4: pour from an empty cup. So you can still nurture,
- 55:20Speaker 4: you can still love, you can still you know, be
- 55:23Speaker 4: what you can be for other people, but you have
- 55:25Speaker 4: to learn to be that for yourself first.
- 55:27Speaker 3: And if they don't like it, then.
- 55:29Speaker 4: They're probably in that category that's not gonna be around anyway.
- 55:32Speaker 4: So you know, it's I don't want to I want
- 55:37Speaker 4: to say self preservation, like my mom always says, like
- 55:39Speaker 4: it's about self preservation. And I was a type that
- 55:41Speaker 4: didn't really understand when they said, you know you're on
- 55:44Speaker 4: an airplane, you put your mask on first, I'm like
- 55:46Speaker 4: that's so toxic, Like you gonna you gotta help somebody
- 55:49Speaker 4: else and you got and I'm like I finally am
- 55:51Speaker 4: starting to understand, like what that means. It doesn't mean
- 55:53Speaker 4: you let somebody else die, but if you die, then
- 55:58Speaker 4: you know what's gonna happen.
- 55:59Speaker 8: You know.
- 56:01Speaker 4: Exactly. So that was really good for me. You gotta
- 56:05Speaker 4: you know, just you're more than enough. And if people
- 56:06Speaker 4: don't like it, you know, it's okay. They were not
- 56:09Speaker 4: supposed to be there. My mom says, also, a reason
- 56:11Speaker 4: a season in a lifetime. So I'm at the age
- 56:13Speaker 4: now where I start figuring out, who's that reason, who's
- 56:16Speaker 4: that season, who's that life timing?
- 56:18Speaker 2: I'm okay with it. Yeah, let's say let go because
- 56:26Speaker 2: because you're still coming to hold on to somebody and
- 56:29Speaker 2: they've taking you on, I'm not trying to go on,
- 56:32Speaker 2: but you won't let him go because of the love
- 56:35Speaker 2: or whatever it is that you feel for them. God
- 56:38Speaker 2: has told me to let people go, and I'm like, okay, God,
- 56:43Speaker 2: you know, but I also was very momful of the
- 56:45Speaker 2: prayer that I prayed in twenty nineteen. God, those those
- 56:49Speaker 2: people who are not connected to the destiny and what
- 56:51Speaker 2: you have for me, and help me to be okay
- 56:53Speaker 2: with that.
- 56:54Speaker 5: Now.
- 56:55Speaker 3: Did I know he was gonna take some people away
- 56:57Speaker 3: that meant the world for me?
- 56:59Speaker 2: I did, But before absolutely not, but I knew that
- 57:03Speaker 2: I had to be okay with it because it was
- 57:06Speaker 2: not to his assignment that he has for me. And
- 57:10Speaker 2: so as I get to certain seasons, I understand that
- 57:14Speaker 2: some people have a pit stop and that's as far
- 57:17Speaker 2: as they're supposed to go with me. And I'm okay
- 57:19Speaker 2: with letting them go and leaving them where they are,
- 57:22Speaker 2: because if they're meant to follow me into the next space,
- 57:25Speaker 2: they will catch up. I don't have to return to
- 57:28Speaker 2: the backspace to go and get them the only where
- 57:31Speaker 2: I'm at.
- 57:32Speaker 3: And so I've learned and made peace with that.
- 57:36Speaker 6: That's really good.
- 57:39Speaker 2: All right, Well, listen, I thank you guys for being
- 57:44Speaker 2: here because it has been an amazing show. You know,
- 57:49Speaker 2: God always takes over because without him, I don't know
- 57:54Speaker 2: nothing about none of this stuff, because He gives me
- 57:57Speaker 2: everything that I need and all of the things that
- 58:01Speaker 2: given me. He's given me my voice back when doctors
- 58:05Speaker 2: when man said to get used to not being able
- 58:09Speaker 2: to walk, to get used to not being able to talk,
- 58:12Speaker 2: to get used.
- 58:13Speaker 3: To those things.
- 58:14Speaker 2: And my response then was, I don't have to get
- 58:17Speaker 2: used to that, and I don't have to get used
- 58:18Speaker 2: to you. And God has provided all things that I
- 58:22Speaker 2: have enough grateful for the stubbornness that He's put inside
- 58:26Speaker 2: of me to know when to walk away from people
- 58:29Speaker 2: who say stupid stuff to me. And that was some
- 58:32Speaker 2: stupid that doctor said to me. And I'm like, sir,
- 58:36Speaker 2: God didn't tell me that, So I don't gotta get
- 58:39Speaker 2: used to you. Let me go and get my stuff
- 58:41Speaker 2: and get up out of here and go buy my business.
- 58:43Speaker 2: So if you see me walking, you will never know
- 58:46Speaker 2: that I had to learn how to do this again.
- 58:49Speaker 2: When you hear me speak, you would have never known
- 58:51Speaker 2: that I had to learn this again. You would have
- 58:54Speaker 2: never known any of this. And I'm gonna give y'all

- 59:11Speaker 2: and the back of my head is on fire and
