- 0:01Speaker 1: Now sevenor prisons.
- 0:04Speaker 2: No Mark Simon Shaw.
- 0:09Speaker 1: Hey, another beautiful sunny day. It's Thursday. We've got a
- 0:12Speaker 1: lot to get to bring you all the latest on Iran,
- 0:14Speaker 1: the talks. We'll get to the Gilgo Beach lunatic and
- 0:18Speaker 1: what happened there. We'll get to Artemis, the space capsule
- 0:22Speaker 1: coming down tomorrow. We'll get to the Master's mom. Donnie
- 0:26Speaker 1: Hochel getting booed like crazy. Al Sharpton having his big
- 0:31Speaker 1: convention right now as we speak over there, but blocking
- 0:36Speaker 1: two blocks away at the Sheraton. So we'll also get
- 0:41Speaker 1: to some of the crazy, crazy left wing rants that
- 0:44Speaker 1: are These are all people, you know, very prominent left
- 0:47Speaker 1: wing Hollywood types, melting down on Twitter, going absolutely nuts.
- 0:52Speaker 1: Now the talks are about to take place. Vice President
- 0:57Speaker 1: Vance will be there. Iran has agreed to talk for
- 1:00Speaker 1: a couple of reasons. One, they see that militarily they
- 1:05Speaker 1: are going to get wiped out. He could just wipe
- 1:08Speaker 1: them off the face of the earth Donald Trump at
- 1:10Speaker 1: any point. So they've realized that. Also, as we keep
- 1:14Speaker 1: telling you, we don't use the Straits of Hormus for anything.
- 1:17Speaker 1: This country doesn't need anything from the straits of Hormus.
- 1:20Speaker 1: We don't use that oil, but China is heavily dependent
- 1:24Speaker 1: on that oil, as is Japan, as is India, but
- 1:27Speaker 1: especially China. And if anybody that Iran actually listens to,
- 1:31Speaker 1: it's China, and China apparently has pressured them like crazy
- 1:35Speaker 1: to have these talks and come up with some sort
- 1:38Speaker 1: of resolution of all of this, so they will talk.
- 1:42Speaker 1: Straits of Hormus are supposed to reopen as the talks begin. Now.
- 1:47Speaker 1: In normal times, one hundred ships a day, one hundred tankers,
- 1:51Speaker 1: hundred ships a day come through the Straits of Hormus.
- 1:54Speaker 1: Yesterday four we're allowed through, so it is open, but
- 1:58Speaker 1: only four went through today. They claim they'll get twelve
- 2:03Speaker 1: ships through the Straits of Horror moves, so it is
- 2:06Speaker 1: sly opening, but there's because of the enclosure for the last
- 2:11Speaker 1: couple of weeks, there's a backup of about two hundred
- 2:14Speaker 1: and fifty tankers waiting to come through, so it'll be
- 2:17Speaker 1: a while to get that cleaned up. Now, the talks, well,
- 2:21Speaker 1: that's interesting. First of all, Iran, they're all the leaders
- 2:25Speaker 1: are absolute raging lunatics, absolute terrorist nut jobs, so obviously
- 2:31Speaker 1: very tough to negotiate with. Now, the leaders that will
- 2:34Speaker 1: show up for the talks, the head of the Republican Guard,
- 2:36Speaker 1: the head of this, the head of that. They'll be
- 2:39Speaker 1: there for the talks. Our guys will be mostly business guys,
- 2:43Speaker 1: Steve Witkoff, those types. So it's an interesting psychological mix
- 2:47Speaker 1: because on the Iranian side you got basically rug merchants.
- 2:53Speaker 1: I mean this literally, head of the Republican Guard and
- 2:56Speaker 1: a couple of the others started life as rug merchants
- 2:59Speaker 1: in a bazz are then went into government. And on
- 3:02Speaker 1: the American side you got the Steve Wickcoff types, business guys,
- 3:07Speaker 1: but really New York real estate guys. And now both
- 3:10Speaker 1: these types ferocious negotiators, the rug merchants obviously, if you've
- 3:15Speaker 1: ever been in a bazaar and tried to negotiate with them,
- 3:19Speaker 1: it's tough. And New York real estate guys it's tough.
- 3:22Speaker 1: So which style will win this, I don't know. Whenever
- 3:26Speaker 1: you have a cease fire, there's always a lot of bumps,
- 3:30Speaker 1: especially the first few days, So it's always rocky the
- 3:33Speaker 1: first few days, and that's the case here. Yesterday, despite
- 3:37Speaker 1: the ceasefire, Israel striking Hesbelah in Lebanon. Now here's the
- 3:43Speaker 1: catch to this Israel. So they're not going to stop
- 3:46Speaker 1: going after Hesbelo. They took out some leadership yesterday. They
- 3:50Speaker 1: say they will continue to attack Hesbela in Lebanon with determination, precision.
- 3:56Speaker 1: And here's the problem. Iran in the talks is claiming
- 4:00Speaker 1: they have nothing to do with Hesbela, no connection. Of
- 4:04Speaker 1: course they do. They fund has Bela, they direct Hesblah,
- 4:07Speaker 1: but they're claiming to have nothing to do with them.
- 4:10Speaker 1: So how can they make that an issue if they
- 4:12Speaker 1: claim it has nothing to do with them. The real
- 4:15Speaker 1: reason to go after Iran obviously number one, and this
- 4:18Speaker 1: has been made clear over and over again, despite what
- 4:21Speaker 1: the fake news will tell you. Number One, stop them
- 4:24Speaker 1: from having a nuclear weapon. They've gotten pretty close. Stop
- 4:27Speaker 1: them from having a nuclear weapon. And then stop them
- 4:31Speaker 1: from being the biggest supporters of terrorism in the world.
- 4:35Speaker 1: Hes Belah, the hoodies Hamas supporting terrorism all over the place.
- 4:39Speaker 1: So that's going to have to come out in all
- 4:42Speaker 1: of this, their connection to Hesbelah and the other terrorist groups.
- 4:46Speaker 1: So the negotiations will take place throughout the weekend. We'll
- 4:49Speaker 1: see what happens. Now does the question is we kind
- 4:52Speaker 1: of understand the Iranians' mentality. The leaders over there their lunacy,
- 4:58Speaker 1: But do they really understand President Trump? Now, you can
- 5:02Speaker 1: argue he's been confusing and his messaging. President Trump's been contradictory, confusing,
- 5:08Speaker 1: hard to well, that's deliberate, that's deliberate. He totally wants
- 5:11Speaker 1: to confuse the enemy so they have no idea what
- 5:16Speaker 1: he's going to do. And he's been using that what
- 5:19Speaker 1: Nixon called the madman theory, where you act like you're
- 5:21Speaker 1: completely insane, completely nuts, you might blow them all up
- 5:24Speaker 1: just to scare them. Now, the problem with the madman
- 5:27Speaker 1: strategy it does work on the enemy, but it's very
- 5:32Speaker 1: unpopular among the domestic populations. So while it'll work in
- 5:36Speaker 1: the negotiation, it's kind of screwing you up with the
- 5:38Speaker 1: public a little.
- 5:40Speaker 2: Now.
- 5:40Speaker 1: The other thing is, if the Iranians were really, really,
- 5:43Speaker 1: really smart, and I don't think they are that smart,
- 5:45Speaker 1: they're just nuts, they would all have gotten copies of
- 5:49Speaker 1: the book The Art of the Deal, Donald Trump's first book, which,
- 5:52Speaker 1: by the way, if you haven't read it, or you
- 5:54Speaker 1: haven't looked at it in twenty five years, get the
- 5:57Speaker 1: book and read it again. It's fascinating book. The Art
- 6:00Speaker 1: of the Deal, explains in precise detail how he negotiates.
- 6:04Speaker 1: If they're smart, they've been going through that book carefully
- 6:08Speaker 1: and getting ready for this strategy wise, so we'll see
- 6:13Speaker 1: what happens. These left wing people are going nuts now
- 6:17Speaker 1: when the President tweeted that famous tweet about We're going
- 6:21Speaker 1: to wipe out We'll wipe you out. It will be
- 6:24Speaker 1: end of your civilization. We're going to wipe your whole
- 6:26Speaker 1: civilization off the earth. You're not supposed to talk like
- 6:29Speaker 1: that as a president. You're never supposed to say anything
- 6:31Speaker 1: like that. But it's Donald Trump, not a professional politician,
- 6:36Speaker 1: got no filter. And if you read the book The
- 6:39Speaker 1: Art of the Deal, that's how you start a negotiation.
- 6:42Speaker 1: You take the most extreme, unbelievable, crazy, extreme position. That's
- 6:48Speaker 1: where you start a negotiation. You know how when you're
- 6:53Speaker 1: negotiating money, you ask for more than you think you
- 6:55Speaker 1: can get. You start high, you know, because you know
- 6:58Speaker 1: it's going to come down. Case of Trump, you start
- 7:01Speaker 1: like through the roof high. So that's why that crazy thing,
- 7:04Speaker 1: but it's set off a lot of liberals. There's another one,
- 7:09Speaker 1: Michael Moore, Remember Michael Moore, the disheveled Michael Moore. So
- 7:14Speaker 1: here he is on I guess he doesn't tweet anymore.
- 7:16Speaker 2: He's now on.
- 7:17Speaker 1: Substack, but his substack tweet. He's going nuts, saying, yelling
- 7:21Speaker 1: and screaming. The US are the bad guys. We're the
- 7:24Speaker 1: terrorists Iran or the good guys. They go nuts. These
- 7:29Speaker 1: people Iran or the good guys. They're the greatest civilization
- 7:33Speaker 1: in the world. They've given us everything. Here's what he's
- 7:41Speaker 1: actually talking about. There is some truth to a great civilization.
- 7:45Speaker 1: But he's talking about the Persians who all got wiped out.
- 7:49Speaker 1: You know, in the revolution in nineteen seventy nine. They
- 7:52Speaker 1: all had to flee and leave. That was the Persians.
- 7:55Speaker 1: It was a great culture, you know. Before the Ayatola
- 7:58Speaker 1: took over in nineteen seventy nine, Iran, believe it or not,
- 8:01Speaker 1: was a spectacular place. It was a very cosmopolitan, booming,
- 8:07Speaker 1: economic kind of place. Tehran at the time was the
- 8:11Speaker 1: Paris of the Middle East. It was magnificent. Then the
- 8:16Speaker 1: Ayatola takes over. The Shaw flee's all the Shaws people.
- 8:21Speaker 1: Many of the Persians leave at the same time. They
- 8:24Speaker 1: all come here and if you've followed them in this country,
- 8:29Speaker 1: they're all over Long Island. They're all over New Jersey.
- 8:31Speaker 1: They're brilliant, they're very successful people there again, they're great,
- 8:38Speaker 1: But that's the Persians. Now Iran gets taken over by
- 8:42Speaker 1: the Ayatola and all the crazy fundamentalist lunatic fanatics and
- 8:48Speaker 1: they destroy the whole place again. It had been the
- 8:50Speaker 1: Paris of the Middle East, and then it became an
- 8:53Speaker 1: absolute hell, whole nightmare. So that's the other thing the
- 8:56Speaker 1: president's hoping to achieve, to get the old group back
- 9:01Speaker 1: in charge, and maybe even change the name or the
- 9:04Speaker 1: name Iran. It's like the name Columbia University. It's so tainted.
- 9:08Speaker 1: Maybe call it Persia again. Get the Persians back, and
- 9:11Speaker 1: they'll build that country back up into something magnificent all
- 9:14Speaker 1: over again. So we'll see what happens. The other fight
- 9:18Speaker 1: will be about the Straits of Horse Iran is this
- 9:21Speaker 1: is all just bargaining. Wants to put a toll on
- 9:23Speaker 1: the straits of our moose, you got to pay them
- 9:26Speaker 1: to use it. That's not unusual. We do that all
- 9:29Speaker 1: over the world. You know, if you want to go
- 9:31Speaker 1: through the Panama Canal, if you want to bring your
- 9:33Speaker 1: ship through the Panama Canal, you got to pay a toll.
- 9:36Speaker 1: It's like three hundred thousand dollars. And if it's a large,
- 9:39Speaker 1: large tanker, the tolls a million dollars. Pay that just
- 9:43Speaker 1: to use the Panama Canal. Now, the argument is that's
- 9:46Speaker 1: a canal that was built. It's a canal somebody built,
- 9:51Speaker 1: and now they're going to charge you to use it.
- 9:52Speaker 1: Straits of horn Moose is open waters. Nobody owns it.
- 9:56Speaker 1: It's open seas, so you can't charge for that. President
- 10:01Speaker 1: Trump counting, if there's going to be a toll, it's
- 10:03Speaker 1: got to be split with the US fifty to fifty.
- 10:05Speaker 1: And again, this is all just bargaining, all just negotiating.
- 10:10Speaker 1: But we'll keep you on top of the whole thing.
- 10:12Speaker 1: So the Gilgo Beach murderer, yesterday, rex Humeman pleads guilty.
- 10:19Speaker 1: The families of the victims were in the courtroom. According
- 10:25Speaker 1: to his attorney, there are a number of reasons to
- 10:26Speaker 1: plead guilty. One, he lost all the crucial rulings in
- 10:30Speaker 1: the last few weeks. Court rulings, you know, like keeping
- 10:35Speaker 1: the DNA out. Everything went against him. Every single ruling.
- 10:38Speaker 1: The judges allowed the DNA to be used. All the
- 10:40Speaker 1: evidence can be used, so there was absolutely no chance
- 10:44Speaker 1: of beating the charges. It was one hundred percent that
- 10:48Speaker 1: he would be convicted, So that's one reason to plead guilty.
- 10:51Speaker 1: The other reason he didn't want to put his family
- 10:54Speaker 1: through the hell of a trial. And the other reason
- 10:58Speaker 1: is the victims and their family. Even though he had
- 11:01Speaker 1: to admit in court yesterday strangled strangling them and there
- 11:04Speaker 1: were gasps every time he admitted to strangling one of them.
- 11:08Speaker 1: But if it had gone to trial, they would have
- 11:10Speaker 1: had to go into graphic detail, show the pictures, testimony
- 11:15Speaker 1: in exact detail about what he did. So he didn't
- 11:17Speaker 1: want to put everybody through that. He's going to get
- 11:20Speaker 1: three life sentences. He'll be sentenced in June. He is
- 11:23Speaker 1: sixty two years old, sow much longer. Does he have?
- 11:27Speaker 1: What thirty forty thirty five at the most thirty five years.
- 11:30Speaker 1: But he's in bad, bad shape, bad health, So be
- 11:33Speaker 1: lucky if he has twenty years left. But he's got
- 11:35Speaker 1: three life sentences, absolutely no chance of parole. He's also
- 11:41Speaker 1: made a deal with the government that he will cooperate
- 11:45Speaker 1: in They have some division of the federal government that
- 11:50Speaker 1: studies lunatics, studies psychokillers. It's the Behavioral Analysis Unit. He
- 11:58Speaker 1: will fully cooperate with them, sit down with them for
- 12:01Speaker 1: endless interviews where they will try to examine his brain
- 12:06Speaker 1: by talking to him, and they'll try to figure out
- 12:08Speaker 1: what caused him to be a psycho killer. Now they've
- 12:11Speaker 1: done this before with other serial killers. They've been doing
- 12:15Speaker 1: this for years. It's the government and it's a bunch
- 12:19Speaker 1: of eggheads. And as you can imagine, so far they
- 12:22Speaker 1: figured out nothing. They haven't prevented anything else, but not
- 12:27Speaker 1: that you could prevent it. But maybe they're looking for
- 12:29Speaker 1: clues as to how you can spot these guys. But
- 12:31Speaker 1: so far, from years of doing this, it hasn't amounted
- 12:34Speaker 1: to anything practical. But they will talk to him over
- 12:36Speaker 1: and over again. I guess he says he wants to
- 12:38Speaker 1: do this, wants to find out why he's a psychomaniac.
- 12:44Speaker 1: I don't know. I mean, it's hard to analyze this guy.
- 12:46Speaker 1: You know, sometimes you see these psycho killers, these serial killers,
- 12:49Speaker 1: and then you see him and it's a nerdy little
- 12:51Speaker 1: kid with glasses. At least, this guy looks like a psychomaniac.
- 12:56Speaker 1: I mean, if you just saw this guy walking down
- 12:57Speaker 1: the street, you'd cross and walk on the other side.
- 13:00Speaker 1: He looks like an absolute raging psycho, So he'll cooperate
- 13:05Speaker 1: with that. June seventeenth, he'll get sentenced, and he's in
- 13:08Speaker 1: Suffolk County Jail right now. But after the sentence, I
- 13:11Speaker 1: assume he'll be moved to a serious, serious prison. Hey,
- 13:17Speaker 1: in Los Angeles yesterday they spotted Joe Biden. Apparently he
- 13:22Speaker 1: and the family were in California, central coast of California
- 13:26Speaker 1: for some sort of family easter, but now here. They
- 13:29Speaker 1: came down to the LA Area to go to Giorgio Baldi,
- 13:35Speaker 1: which is a celebrity favorite hangout. Scott Miller, he's the
- 13:41Speaker 1: former ambassador of Switzerland. He had been appointed by Biden.
- 13:45Speaker 1: Miller has a husband who's LGBTQ plus activist. I still
- 13:50Speaker 1: don't know what the plus is were, but this is
- 13:52Speaker 1: a perfect dinner for Biden. Lgbtqg vang something activist. So
- 13:59Speaker 1: the two of them go to dinner with Joe and
- 14:02Speaker 1: Jill Biden. They're in the restaurant. Diners watched the whole
- 14:05Speaker 1: night and said that Joe seemed to be completely out
- 14:08Speaker 1: of it. They're having dinner for a couple hours and
- 14:11Speaker 1: everybody's talking, but Joe said nothing, no comfort, just his
- 14:15Speaker 1: head down. Seemed completely out of it. Later, a birthday
- 14:19Speaker 1: cake came out for somebody else and people were singing
- 14:22Speaker 1: Happy Birthday. They said, Joe joined in and started singing.
- 14:26Speaker 1: Now that's always the case with these Alzheimer'rie typed Joe Biden.
- 14:32Speaker 1: You know, when you're in that condition, the only thing
- 14:34Speaker 1: you respond to is like childlike stuff like singing happy birthday.
- 14:38Speaker 1: But they said he just looked terrible, looked absolutely terrible,
- 14:41Speaker 1: walking very slow. Secret Service were in the restaurant, but
- 14:45Speaker 1: they're very good the Secret Service. When they're in the restaurant,
- 14:47Speaker 1: you really don't even see them. They know how to
- 14:49Speaker 1: disappear into the background. But the streets outside the restaurant
- 14:53Speaker 1: packed with cops. I think one thing you don't have
- 14:57Speaker 1: to worry about with Joe Biden. I think that's an
- 14:58Speaker 1: easy protection detail. It's Donald Trump or anybody like that.
- 15:02Speaker 1: You can imagine the threats you have to protect against.
- 15:05Speaker 1: But Joe Biden. Who the hell's going to go after
- 15:07Speaker 1: Joe Biden? Absolutely nobody. Look at this guy, can't get
- 15:11Speaker 1: anybody to talk to him. You know, normally, when you're
- 15:13Speaker 1: the ex president, you're having dinner with your vice president.
- 15:15Speaker 1: The Treasury recid of this. Here he's having dinner with
- 15:17Speaker 1: the ambassador to Switzerland, and nobody knows even trying to
- 15:21Speaker 1: build a presidential library. He's the first ex president in
- 15:25Speaker 1: history who can't get a presidential library. He can't get
- 15:28Speaker 1: a single donor to give him anything, even to the big,
- 15:31Speaker 1: big money democratic donors. He's considered totally worthless. Can't get
- 15:35Speaker 1: any donations. So there's no hope of a presidential library.
- 15:39Speaker 1: So he's making a deal now with that. I think
- 15:40Speaker 1: it's the University of Delaware, some university for them to
- 15:44Speaker 1: take one of their buildings and call it a Joe
- 15:46Speaker 1: Biden presidential library because they got no hope of actually
- 15:49Speaker 1: building one. Hey, we'll take some calls in a minute.
- 15:52Speaker 1: Eight hundred three to two one zero seven to ten
- 15:55Speaker 1: is the number. I was going to take a break,
- 15:58Speaker 1: but there's no engineering there. What happened? Where'd crash go?
- 16:04Speaker 1: Anybody in that control room? I'm looking in there, nobody there?
- 16:07Speaker 1: Can you do the break? Oh wait, I think I
- 16:10Speaker 1: see crash coming? Is he there there?
- 16:13Speaker 2: He is?
- 16:14Speaker 1: Oh no, that's Natalie. Can we can you do the break?
- 16:17Speaker 1: You think? Let's see eight hundred three to two one
- 16:21Speaker 1: zero seven ten, give wr a Bree said on the
- 16:25Speaker 1: iHeartRadio app to hear Mark Simone and all the wr
- 16:29Speaker 1: hosts in an instead.
- 16:31Speaker 3: Now back to the Marximo Show on wor.
- 16:36Speaker 1: Hey, let's take some calls. Let's go to uh Frank
- 16:39Speaker 1: in Arizona. Frank, how you doing?
- 16:42Speaker 4: Good morning, Mark, Mark. After the Mondoro extraction and the
- 16:46Speaker 4: extraction of these two pilots, don't we have the greatest
- 16:49Speaker 4: military in the world. All these guys are what they
- 16:52Speaker 4: did did they had to build an airstrip, said, we always.
- 16:58Speaker 1: Had the greatest military, but better than you know. You
- 17:00Speaker 1: can attack Pete Hegseath all you want and I you know,
- 17:04Speaker 1: I mean, let's be honest. When he comes out there
- 17:06Speaker 1: to the podium, he looks a little like a junior
- 17:09Speaker 1: kind of, you know, middle management kind of. It doesn't
- 17:12Speaker 1: look like a top guy. But criticize them all you want.
- 17:15Speaker 1: But under his watch, we've had the most successful military
- 17:18Speaker 1: operations in the history of the world. State of the art, unbelievable,
- 17:22Speaker 1: cutting edge executed perfectly, extraction of Maduro, the taking out
- 17:27Speaker 1: of the nuclear reactors last year. What we've seen in
- 17:31Speaker 1: the last couple of weeks in Iran, the rescue of
- 17:34Speaker 1: the two airmen. Unbelievable. This guy has you know again,
- 17:40Speaker 1: he may not look the party, may not act the part,
- 17:42Speaker 1: you might not like him, but he's he's like a
- 17:46Speaker 1: Babe Ruth with actual statistics of what he's gotten done. Here,
- 17:49Speaker 1: let's go to Ron and Pittsburgh. Ron, how you doing.
- 17:53Speaker 5: Good, shir can hear me?
- 17:54Speaker 2: Yes? Hey? Hey?
- 17:56Speaker 5: Two points? Hey, love your show? Yeah, and also love
- 18:00Speaker 5: Annie on your show down here in Pittsburgh.
- 18:02Speaker 1: We love them.
- 18:03Speaker 5: Hey, But two points. How about this for an idea.
- 18:05Speaker 5: Biden wants his library, won't he have hut herself a
- 18:08Speaker 5: few pictures, a few paintings, and maybe you could afford it.
- 18:12Speaker 1: And how about let's just pray The second point is better?
- 18:15Speaker 5: Go ahead, Hey, how about this, if they want to
- 18:19Speaker 5: blow if the Libs are so worried about them blowing
- 18:21Speaker 5: up the power plants, just send them up the solar
- 18:25Speaker 5: panels in these satellites and give them all the electric cars.
- 18:29Speaker 1: All right, That point's a little better. Now you got
- 18:31Speaker 1: to just three of those of you in New York.
- 18:32Speaker 1: He's from the Midwest. I'm from the Midwest. This is
- 18:35Speaker 1: how they talk. They sound very happy, even if they're
- 18:37Speaker 1: saying nothing. I'm thrilled about it. You got to sound
- 18:40Speaker 1: like a New Yorker. You sound too happy. Hey, hey,
- 18:43Speaker 1: also now here, let me teach you how to be
- 18:45Speaker 1: a New Yorker. He said, you come on and go, hey,
- 18:47Speaker 1: how are you? Then you got to be like a
- 18:48Speaker 1: New Yorker? How are you? And you got to just
- 18:50Speaker 1: be like most.
- 18:51Speaker 5: I'm sorry, I'm sorry. I'm just a seventy three year
- 18:54Speaker 5: old dude.
- 18:55Speaker 1: No, you're a Western guy though, heart Hey.
- 18:57Speaker 5: How about Hey? How about bo Didley said you can't
- 19:00Speaker 5: judge a book by the cover. P hage seth. He's
- 19:04Speaker 5: doing a great job.
- 19:04Speaker 1: You can't judge it by I should have stopped you
- 19:07Speaker 1: after point.
- 19:08Speaker 5: Okay, I'm sorry, No.
- 19:09Speaker 1: You're good. Thanks for calling. Let's go to Mike in Florida. Mike,
- 19:12Speaker 1: how you doing?
- 19:14Speaker 2: Good morning, Mark Mike.
- 19:16Speaker 3: That Biden story reminds me of the old joke. The
- 19:19Speaker 3: elderly couple goes into the restaurant. She orders, the waiter
- 19:22Speaker 3: asks him for her order. She goes, I'll have the
- 19:23Speaker 3: steak and the baked potato, and the waiter respond, what
- 19:26Speaker 3: about the vegetable? And she says, he'll have the same thing,
- 19:29Speaker 3: all right.
- 19:29Speaker 1: I like that. That's good. Yeah, that Biden is a
- 19:33Speaker 1: one pathetic looking guy. He looks like that. That what's
- 19:37Speaker 1: that other old joke? An old guy like Biden goes
- 19:39Speaker 1: to a hooker and she looks at you. Just forget it,
- 19:41Speaker 1: you've had it, He goes, I did how much? That's
- 19:45Speaker 1: Joe Biden. Let's go to Rich Myrtle Beach, Rich, how
- 19:48Speaker 1: you doing?
- 19:51Speaker 6: That was a good one.
- 19:51Speaker 5: I like you.
- 19:52Speaker 6: I might steal that one. See looks like cash to
- 19:55Speaker 6: tell they found a lika from uh Lisan know's uh
- 20:00Speaker 6: and stuff like that. Some woman, some walt cooking woman,
- 20:03Speaker 6: Courtney Williams. I can't wait for cash for telling the
- 20:05Speaker 6: DJ to really throw the book at him. Now she
- 20:07Speaker 6: send somebody to jail for saying, all right.
- 20:10Speaker 1: Good idea. Yeah that's the old expression. Now throw the
- 20:12Speaker 1: book at you. But people under a thirty don't know
- 20:16Speaker 1: what you're talking about. They've never seen a book. What
- 20:19Speaker 1: does that mean? To throw a kindle at you? What
- 20:21Speaker 1: does it mean? There's no such thing as a book anymore.
- 20:24Speaker 1: Let's go to Barney in Long Island. Barney, how you doing?
- 20:28Speaker 2: Let me check?
- 20:29Speaker 7: Yeah?
- 20:29Speaker 1: There you good?
- 20:31Speaker 5: Pretty good?
- 20:32Speaker 2: Mark?
- 20:32Speaker 7: Before I get to my question for you about the
- 20:34Speaker 7: Straits of horror moves. I just want to mention that
- 20:37Speaker 7: I know, you know that Ridge from Myrtle Beach is
- 20:40Speaker 7: a fishing expert. But I live on Easton on Long Island.
- 20:43Speaker 7: I hear him all summer. He does the fishing report
- 20:46Speaker 7: on w LNG radio.
- 20:48Speaker 1: Oh, that sounds fascinating. W LNG. That that's the one
- 20:51Speaker 1: in the Hamptons.
- 20:51Speaker 7: Right, Yeah, it's like an oldies station.
- 20:54Speaker 1: Yeah, in the Hamptons. And where do you live?
- 20:57Speaker 2: So I live in Eastport.
- 20:59Speaker 1: Sorry, I'm sorry to hear that. Eastport's a wonderful place.
- 21:06Speaker 2: It is really not.
- 21:07Speaker 1: Anyway, Mark, Yes, go ahead.
- 21:09Speaker 7: You've been saying forever that we don't get any oil.
- 21:12Speaker 4: From the straits of her moods.
- 21:13Speaker 1: All right, we get one oil from there, but we
- 21:16Speaker 1: don't need we don't need it much nothing. Yeah, we
- 21:19Speaker 1: don't need it.
- 21:19Speaker 7: So why doesn't Trump just say to hell with the
- 21:21Speaker 7: traits of our mood. Let let a Europarrie about it
- 21:24Speaker 7: or whatever countries get their oil from there.
- 21:26Speaker 1: He did, He did say that, oh we did okay,
- 21:30Speaker 1: good about a week ago. He actually said it's true,
- 21:32Speaker 1: we don't we don't need a friend. We do get
- 21:34Speaker 1: about one point nine percent, but we don't even need
- 21:36Speaker 1: that oil. We don't even use it. It's dirty oil
- 21:38Speaker 1: that we can't even we're not even equipped to refine it.
- 21:40Speaker 1: But he did say for about a week ago to
- 21:44Speaker 1: all the European nations, you're the ones that need it,
- 21:46Speaker 1: you guys, go open it. Uh And NATO was just
- 21:50Speaker 1: awful and all this not pitching in at all. One more,
- 21:52Speaker 1: let's go to Joel in Florida. Joel, how you doing.
- 21:55Speaker 8: Good morning, Mark. I try not to be cynical, but
- 21:58Speaker 8: of a question for you, do you see any possibility
- 22:01Speaker 8: that mister Schumer and mister Jeffries and their friends are
- 22:04Speaker 8: doing as much as they can The Sabbath podcast whole
- 22:07Speaker 8: deal with their ron taste upon the fact that the
- 22:10Speaker 8: midterms will be coming up and they can harm this
- 22:12Speaker 8: administration absolutely.
- 22:14Speaker 1: Hey, in fact, go to my Twitter. There's a very
- 22:17Speaker 1: funny video. It's Schumer trying to attack Trump on Iran
- 22:22Speaker 1: and the war, and he's got all these points of
- 22:25Speaker 1: all the horrible things about Trump, but he's stumbling around
- 22:28Speaker 1: trying to read it. You can tell somebody else wrote it.
- 22:31Speaker 1: He didn't bother to preread it. He's got the pieces
- 22:34Speaker 1: of paper in front. He's going to try to read
- 22:36Speaker 1: it off the PA. You could tell he's never even
- 22:37Speaker 1: seen this before. It's supposed to be his talking points
- 22:41Speaker 1: from his heart. Watch the video. It's hysterical. He doesn't
- 22:44Speaker 1: even know what he's saying. He's never even seen it before. Hey,
- 22:47Speaker 1: when we come back, Steve Moore is away this week,
- 22:49Speaker 1: but we'll get to the Great Entertainment Reporter Roger Friedman.
- 22:53Speaker 1: Lots to talk about with him coming up on seven
- 22:56Speaker 1: to ten wo.
- 22:57Speaker 2: R Now more Mark on seventeen R.
- 23:05Speaker 5: Well.
- 23:06Speaker 1: Roger Friedman, the Great Entertainment Reporter. Should check out his
- 23:09Speaker 1: website showbiz for one one dot com. Great stories. There's
- 23:13Speaker 1: new stuff every day. Showbiz for one one dot com.
- 23:16Speaker 1: Roger Friedman, How you doing?
- 23:19Speaker 2: I'm doing great. I saw a great Broadway show this week.
- 23:22Speaker 2: You know that everyone should see. It's called Becky Shaw.
- 23:25Speaker 2: It's a comedy playing at the Helen Hayes Theater and
- 23:28Speaker 2: I really you would love it's everyone loves it. Every
- 23:31Speaker 2: reviewer loved it. There wasn't a single one that didn't
- 23:34Speaker 2: like it. And it's it's just absolutely hilarious.
- 23:37Speaker 1: And you can picture me sitting through an entire Broadway show. Yeah,
- 23:42Speaker 1: you would like this show.
- 23:43Speaker 2: It's fun. It's really fun. And the star of it
- 23:47Speaker 2: is this guy, Alden Ehrenreich, who played Hans Solo, you know,
- 23:50Speaker 2: in that Hans Solo movie that came out a few
- 23:53Speaker 2: years ago. And he's a really good actor, but he's
- 23:55Speaker 2: never really had a hit movie. And now he's got
- 23:58Speaker 2: a hit Broadway play. He'll be nominated for Tony Award
- 24:01Speaker 2: and and everyone. Linda Imont, who is a very well
- 24:06Speaker 2: known Broadway actress, kind of steals the show. And she's
- 24:09Speaker 2: also hilarious. So it's about a family, and it's also,
- 24:14Speaker 2: strangely enough, it's about a family, it's also about dating.
- 24:18Speaker 2: And it's just it's so many laughs that you really need,
- 24:23Speaker 2: you need to laugh. Believe me.
- 24:24Speaker 1: Good to tell us the name again, Becky Shaw sounds good.
- 24:29Speaker 2: Hey tell this girl. This actress who you don't really know,
- 24:32Speaker 2: plays this Becky Shaw who doesn't really come into the
- 24:35Speaker 2: play for a little while, and you think that she's
- 24:37Speaker 2: meek and mild. By the time the play is over,
- 24:41Speaker 2: you're terrified of her. You know. It's one of those things.
- 24:44Speaker 1: So how's Broadway doing? Overall? How's business on Broadway?
- 24:48Speaker 2: Business was really good? Last week Broadway was up about
- 24:51Speaker 2: five million dollars from the week before. It's a little
- 24:54Speaker 2: behind from last year, but it's a big, big increases.
- 25:00Speaker 2: The shows they're really carrying it are Harry Potter and
- 25:04Speaker 2: The Curse Child has become such a hit because they
- 25:07Speaker 2: brought this guy Tom Felton in from the Harry Potter
- 25:09Speaker 2: movies and now the Harry Potter fans are like selling
- 25:13Speaker 2: out the theater every week to see him. So he
- 25:16Speaker 2: just signed another contract to go through November, because where's
- 25:19Speaker 2: it going to go. They're doing just doing great, and
- 25:22Speaker 2: Hamilton is huge, of course, and then we have some
- 25:26Speaker 2: new shows opening right now for the Tony Awards, and
- 25:30Speaker 2: we'll see how they're gonna do.
- 25:31Speaker 1: Yeah, hey, tell us about this Michael Jackson movie. I mean,
- 25:34Speaker 1: you're like a Michael Jackson.
- 25:37Speaker 2: I am the Michael Jackson expert. Well, it'll be interesting
- 25:43Speaker 2: some people. Doesn't sound like a rave review. Yeah, we're
- 25:48Speaker 2: not allowed to review it yet. It's only just be
- 25:50Speaker 2: shown for the first time. I'll tell you what's great
- 25:53Speaker 2: at What's I think is going to be great about
- 25:54Speaker 2: it is that Michael's nephew, Jermaine Jackson's son Jeffar Jackson
- 26:00Speaker 2: in the movie, and he looks a lot like him,
- 26:03Speaker 2: and he can dance like him and sing like him.
- 26:07Speaker 2: So the concert part of this movie is going to
- 26:09Speaker 2: be fantastic. I don't know what the story is going
- 26:12Speaker 2: to be like, but the story I do know this
- 26:15Speaker 2: much about the story. This is only about the nineteen eighties.
- 26:18Speaker 2: It ends when Bad, the album Bad comes out and
- 26:22Speaker 2: Michael's way on top. They don't get into anything after
- 26:25Speaker 2: nineteen ninety, so there's none of the they were originally going.
- 26:28Speaker 2: They originally filmed part of it to show Michael being
- 26:34Speaker 2: accused of child molestation and then being exonerated, and it
- 26:38Speaker 2: just didn't work in the movie, so they cut that
- 26:41Speaker 2: whole part out and they've just made it about his
- 26:43Speaker 2: great success and all the great music from the eighties,
- 26:47Speaker 2: which I think is smart because you know, the MJ
- 26:49Speaker 2: Musical on Broadway also does the same thing. It just addresses,
- 26:54Speaker 2: you know, the high point of Michael's career, and they
- 26:57Speaker 2: don't get into any of the details with all the
- 27:00Speaker 2: crazy stuff that happened. I do you know Bubble That
- 27:04Speaker 2: isn't that a better idea? Yeah? I do know that
- 27:09Speaker 2: Bubbles the chimp is in is in the movie. So
- 27:12Speaker 2: that's very exciting. Everyone loves Bubbles, the real Bubbles. Now
- 27:16Speaker 2: the real one is retired. He lives in Florida and
- 27:19Speaker 2: apparently apparently he's having a great time. I'm not kidding.
- 27:23Speaker 2: People got to visit him and he's great and he
- 27:25Speaker 2: doesn't remember anything that happened. But uh no, I think
- 27:30Speaker 2: I think the movie will be fun. If you like
- 27:33Speaker 2: Michael Jackson. It'll be like a great concert film.
- 27:35Speaker 1: Sounds good.
- 27:37Speaker 2: Will know more in a couple of weeks. We'll we'll,
- 27:40Speaker 2: we'll know more.
- 27:41Speaker 1: Paul McCartney tell us what he's up to.
- 27:44Speaker 2: Huge stuff going on. He's going to be the musical
- 27:47Speaker 2: guest on Say I Live. I think it's May May fourteenth,
- 27:52Speaker 2: and it's the final episode of the season, and he's
- 27:56Speaker 2: promoting his new album called Boys of Dungeon Lane, which
- 27:59Speaker 2: will be out May twenty ninth. He has a single
- 28:02Speaker 2: out right now. The single is terrific. Paulkcartney, these guys,
- 28:07Speaker 2: the guys who are last the Rolling Stones, are announcing
- 28:11Speaker 2: on Saturday a new album and a new single. They're
- 28:14Speaker 2: dropping a single on Saturday the eleventh.
- 28:17Speaker 1: And who's going to play this new single?
- 28:22Speaker 2: Well, you know, the last album was fantastic and it
- 28:26Speaker 2: did very well and it won the Grammy Award. So
- 28:29Speaker 2: and there's nothing better than for me, there's nothing better
- 28:33Speaker 2: than the Rolling Stones. So I'm I'm thrilled. But you
- 28:36Speaker 2: have Bruce Springsteen, the Rolling Stones. Paul McCartney Ringo Starr
- 28:41Speaker 2: also has a terrific album coming out. I think it's
- 28:43Speaker 2: this week. And he had a very good country album
- 28:47Speaker 2: last year. So these guys are in there. Well, Bruce's
- 28:51Speaker 2: into this eves.
- 28:54Speaker 1: Now. The handicap seats are on the stage.
- 28:57Speaker 2: I did, wheelchair access is on the stage. But you know,
- 29:04Speaker 2: and listen Gladys Knight and all those that gang, Patty Lapel, LaBelle,
- 29:08Speaker 2: They're all out there touring and these people are serious
- 29:13Speaker 2: about it. They're not like the new people the or
- 29:16Speaker 2: the generation after them. There. You know, Sting is coming
- 29:19Speaker 2: to the Metropolitan opause. I mean, these people want to work.
- 29:23Speaker 2: Everybody wants to work, they want to sing, They still
- 29:26Speaker 2: writing music. It's very exciting. I think, let them do it.
- 29:29Speaker 2: Paul Simon's on tour, He's doing none of the big tour.
- 29:33Speaker 2: So all of these classic guys are out there doing
- 29:35Speaker 2: their thing.
- 29:36Speaker 1: You know, it's cool, No, it is, it is, Hey,
- 29:39Speaker 1: these are all the old time artists. They always knew how.
- 29:41Speaker 1: They had better work ethics, more disciplined than the newer people.
- 29:44Speaker 2: And a real work ethic. They also they were real composers,
- 29:48Speaker 2: you know. They weren't like these people now have teams
- 29:51Speaker 2: of writers writing for them. These guys who were out
- 29:55Speaker 2: there wrote their own songs. They recorded there, they orchestrated them,
- 29:58Speaker 2: they you know, recorded them. They were the real thing.
- 30:01Speaker 2: So they don't want to give up. I'm very excited
- 30:03Speaker 2: about the Rolling Stone. I'll be right there on Saturday
- 30:06Speaker 2: watching that announcement.
- 30:07Speaker 1: Yeah, people don't realize how these guys were trained. If
- 30:09Speaker 1: you were the Beatles the Cavern Club, you did like
- 30:11Speaker 1: eight shows a day, and if you went to Hamburg, Germany,
- 30:14Speaker 1: you perform noon to midnight. You have twelve hours a day.
- 30:17Speaker 2: So oh yeah, yeah, yeah, right, and the Stones listen.
- 30:21Speaker 2: I mean, Keith Richards has a little arthritis and he
- 30:24Speaker 2: said he didn't want a tour. I could do a
- 30:25Speaker 2: big tour, but I think they're going to announce before
- 30:27Speaker 2: the end of the summer They're going to do one
- 30:29Speaker 2: of these things like Harry Styles is coming to Business
- 30:31Speaker 2: Square Garden and he's just staying there for thirty shows.
- 30:34Speaker 2: Instead of going to tons of cities and they're making
- 30:37Speaker 2: the people come to them. So I think the Stones
- 30:41Speaker 2: will do something like that where they do like New York,
- 30:43Speaker 2: Los Angeles, London, and you'll they'll do like thirty shows
- 30:47Speaker 2: in each place and you'll just go see it. You know.
- 30:50Speaker 2: That's that's because Keith. We can't move Keith around too much.
- 30:53Speaker 2: He can play the guitar like crazy, but you know
- 30:56Speaker 2: everyone's got to sit at the point.
- 30:59Speaker 1: Well, hey, only in a minute left, Roger Freeman, tell
- 31:01Speaker 1: me about the oscars. Now, what happens with the Oscars?
- 31:03Speaker 1: Next it moves to YouTube or.
- 31:05Speaker 2: Something that's well, no, the next two years, it's still
- 31:09Speaker 2: out on YouTube, the next two years of the ninety
- 31:12Speaker 2: ninth anniversary and the hundredth anniversary, and they're staying on ABC.
- 31:16Speaker 2: And they're going to be in March again, which is
- 31:18Speaker 2: sort of crazy because it's too late. They should have
- 31:21Speaker 2: had them in February this year, and it's just way
- 31:24Speaker 2: too late. By that time, no one cares that they're
- 31:26Speaker 2: sticking with it. I think ABC is forcing them to
- 31:29Speaker 2: do it in March. Then in twenty twenty nine, when
- 31:33Speaker 2: you and I will be in the nursing Home they
- 31:35Speaker 2: will have it on YouTube, and who knows what that'll
- 31:40Speaker 2: be like. I have no idea what that'll be like
- 31:44Speaker 2: I would on YouTube, doesn't care.
- 31:46Speaker 1: I love YouTube. That's what I watch most of the time.
- 31:48Speaker 1: But if you're down and up do you Yeah, if
- 31:50Speaker 1: you're in Boco Tan with the eighty year olds, going
- 31:52Speaker 1: to well, how do I find this? Where is it?
- 31:54Speaker 1: How do I see it?
- 31:55Speaker 2: No one will ever find no, no one will ever
- 31:57Speaker 2: find it. I have trouble now I find it the
- 32:00Speaker 2: Yankees on you know, Apple or Amazon. So listen, it's tough.
- 32:06Speaker 2: That's a whole other story about the Yankees. Well, but anyway,
- 32:09Speaker 2: the Oscars, you know, the Oscars will go on and on.
- 32:12Speaker 2: This year. By the way, we're gonna have a lot
- 32:15Speaker 2: of big hit movies, like big deal movies. So the
- 32:19Speaker 2: Oscars should be interesting because we've got Steven Spielberg movie
- 32:22Speaker 2: coming in June, we have Christopher Nolan movie coming in July.
- 32:26Speaker 2: We've got all these big, big event movies. So they'll
- 32:30Speaker 2: all be part of the Oscars next year.
- 32:32Speaker 1: All right, Well, it's good to hear great stuff Roger Freeman.
- 32:35Speaker 1: You want to see more, go to his website showbiz
- 32:37Speaker 1: forour one one dot com Showbiz for one one dot
- 32:41Speaker 1: com check out all the time is always new stuff.
- 32:43Speaker 1: Roger Friedman, thanks for being with us. Thank you all right,
- 32:47Speaker 1: take care, Hey, don't forget Buck and Clay Noon Today,
- 32:52Speaker 1: excellent show. Then you got Sean Hannity most listened to
- 32:56Speaker 1: radio show in America at three, you got Jesse Kelly
- 32:59Speaker 1: at six, and every night now Jimmy Fayla. I love
- 33:02Speaker 1: listening to him, very funny, every night nine to midnight
- 33:05Speaker 1: on seven ten WR.
- 33:07Speaker 2: Sevent ten WRS.
- 33:10Speaker 1: Mark Simon, Oh, I'm just looking at the weather here.
- 33:16Speaker 1: Fifty degrees today, although it'll feel like sixty, which I know.
- 33:21Speaker 1: I don't understand it either. If it feels like sixty,
- 33:23Speaker 1: why isn't the sixties. But here's the good news. The
- 33:25Speaker 1: weekend tomorrow it'll be in the sixties. Saturday sixties, Sunday
- 33:31Speaker 1: sixty degrees. Now here's the really good news next week.
- 33:34Speaker 1: This is really good news. Next week. Monday seventy eight degrees,
- 33:39Speaker 1: Tuesday seventy eight degrees. Listen to this Wednesday eighty seven degrees.
- 33:49Speaker 1: Wednesday eighty seven degrees, and then in the mid seventies
- 33:53Speaker 1: the rest of the week. So you're going to have
- 33:55Speaker 1: a real heat wave now eighty seven. That's hard to believe. Well, anyway,
- 34:00Speaker 1: sounds good. Hey, we got a lot to get to
- 34:02Speaker 1: in the next hour. We'll get to Kathy Hochel getting booed,
- 34:06Speaker 1: We'll get to a mom Donnie confesses something. We'll oh,
- 34:09Speaker 1: we'll get to the big the Al Sharpton Convention is
- 34:13Speaker 1: going on right down there, about two blocks away from
- 34:16Speaker 1: us right now as we speak. It's an interesting forecast
- 34:20Speaker 1: that convention for twenty twenty eight will go over that.
- 34:23Speaker 1: Don't forget. I'm here every day ten to noon, or
- 34:27Speaker 1: if you want, you can listen to the show anytime
- 34:28Speaker 1: you want, dear night, just by getting the podcast any
- 34:31Speaker 1: place you get podcasts. Back after the news seven
