- 0:00SPEAKER_00: You ever see a shadow out of the corner of your eye?
- 0:03SPEAKER_00: Have you ever had that feeling that something, someone, is watching you?
- 0:08SPEAKER_00: Do you ask yourself why these spirits are here?
- 0:11SPEAKER_00: What do they want?
- 0:12SPEAKER_00: Are they lost?
- 0:13SPEAKER_00: Are they trapped?
- 0:15SPEAKER_00: I'm Ryan, and I run a paranormal group called Nuclear Soul Seekers.
- 0:19SPEAKER_00: These are just some of the questions we ask when we do an investigation.
- 0:22SPEAKER_00: We just don't try to get evidence of the paranormal.
- 0:26SPEAKER_00: We try to get answers.
- 0:32SPEAKER_00: You're listening to Trap Souls.
- 0:39SPEAKER_01: Welcome to Trap Souls.
- 0:41SPEAKER_01: If you're listening to another episode of Dead Space, I'm Ryan.
- 0:45SPEAKER_01: This will be my first solo podcast, so bear with me.
- 0:48SPEAKER_01: Today I'll be talking about how I came up with the title Trap Souls for my podcast.
- 0:53SPEAKER_01: First, I'd like to say that my paranormal group is nuclear soul seekers.
- 0:57SPEAKER_01: No, we don't go around investigating nuclear sites absorbing high levels of radiation.
- 1:02SPEAKER_01: That'd be kind of cool, not the radiation part.
- 1:04SPEAKER_01: We came up with the name Nuclear Soul Seekers because majority of us work at a nuclear site or is related to someone that is in a nuclear field.
- 1:13SPEAKER_01: I didn't go with that name for my podcast mainly, because I thought it was a shitty name for our podcast.
- 1:18SPEAKER_01: After thinking about it, I came up with Trap Souls.
- 1:22SPEAKER_01: The following podcast is my thoughts and my thoughts alone.
- 1:25SPEAKER_01: Not everyone in my group has the same beliefs that I do.
- 1:29SPEAKER_01: So why trap souls?
- 1:31SPEAKER_01: I'll tell you why I came up with the name.
- 1:34SPEAKER_01: It's my podcast, so I won't with it.
- 1:36SPEAKER_01: Our group does investigate a lot of prisons, seminaries, sanitariums, and infirmaries.
- 1:43SPEAKER_01: We also do houses, but mainly we started with seminaries, sanitariums, infirmaries, and prisons.
- 1:50SPEAKER_01: So one thing that all these places have in common when they were open is a lot of people were trapped.
- 1:57SPEAKER_01: Prisoners, sick patients, mentally ill patients, and the poor.
- 2:02SPEAKER_01: Yes, I said the poor.
- 2:04SPEAKER_01: Mainly because when these places were open back in the day, they were poor houses, workhouses.
- 2:12SPEAKER_01: It was a place where these who were unable to support themselves were offered accommodations and employment.
- 2:19SPEAKER_01: It was a good idea, but the greed of the owners made it miserable and overcrowded.
- 2:26SPEAKER_01: A lot of these places were supposed to hold 40, 50 people, but as greed got on, two, three hundred people.
- 2:33SPEAKER_01: Could they leave?
- 2:34SPEAKER_01: Yeah.
- 2:35SPEAKER_01: But they were there for a reason.
- 2:37SPEAKER_01: So they had nowhere else to go.
- 2:38SPEAKER_01: They were trapped.
- 2:40SPEAKER_01: All these places had many things in common.
- 2:42SPEAKER_01: They had terrible conditions, were overcrowded, shitty food, and poor medical help.
- 2:49SPEAKER_01: I do believe the majority of nurses there did try to help, but were limited by staff numbers, patient numbers, and a lack of good medical equipment.
- 3:00SPEAKER_01: And there was always someone in charge.
- 3:03SPEAKER_01: A warden, a supervisor, or a superintendent, whatever you want to call them.
- 3:10SPEAKER_01: Their job is to make sure that the prisoners or patients stayed there.
- 3:15SPEAKER_01: Is it possible that they are still doing that in the afterlife?
- 3:18SPEAKER_01: It's possible.
- 3:20SPEAKER_01: Is it possible that the inmates are just scared to leave?
- 3:23SPEAKER_01: Back in the day we didn't reform anyone.
- 3:26SPEAKER_01: We broke them down, used them like guinea pigs for medical experiments.
- 3:30SPEAKER_01: It's possible they didn't know what to do after they passed, so they just stayed where they're used to.
- 3:35SPEAKER_01: Earlier I mentioned nurses.
- 3:38SPEAKER_01: I don't believe they're trapped.
- 3:39SPEAKER_01: Every place I mentioned usually has a story of a ghost woman nurse.
- 3:44SPEAKER_01: Are they sticking around to help their patients they care for their whole lives?
- 3:48SPEAKER_01: As you can tell, I do believe there are trapped souls.
- 3:52SPEAKER_01: But I also believe that there are lost souls.
- 3:55SPEAKER_01: Souls that aren't just ready to move on.
- 3:58SPEAKER_01: Souls looking for someone.
- 4:01SPEAKER_01: Also do believe in demons and angels.
- 4:04SPEAKER_01: And lost souls I really don't know what to think about.
- 4:07SPEAKER_01: It's possible that some are lost.
- 4:10SPEAKER_01: I do believe most know where they are or what they are looking for.
- 4:15SPEAKER_01: And that brings me to the souls that are looking for someone.
- 4:18SPEAKER_01: We always hear of a mother looking for her lost child or a child looking for their mother.
- 4:24SPEAKER_01: And thinking about it, this is what we do as parents.
- 4:29SPEAKER_01: We raise our kids to be ready for the real world.
- 4:32SPEAKER_01: We want them to be safe and successful.
- 4:36SPEAKER_01: Many years.
- 4:38SPEAKER_01: I know when I pass, hopefully many years from now, I can look down and watch my kids become the best that they can be, and they are safe.
- 4:49SPEAKER_01: The way we raise them as a parent.
- 4:52SPEAKER_01: Maybe give them a little nudge when they go off track.
- 4:56SPEAKER_01: Luckily I still have my dad around.
- 4:58SPEAKER_01: But my mom passed away a few years ago.
- 5:02SPEAKER_01: But sometimes I can hear her say, get your shit together.
- 5:07SPEAKER_01: Is it her?
- 5:08SPEAKER_01: Or is it just me knowing what she would say?
- 5:10SPEAKER_01: I'd like to believe it's her.
- 5:12SPEAKER_01: I believe she's watching me and saying that I didn't turn out too bad and that she's proud of me.
- 5:18SPEAKER_01: She did a good job.
- 5:20SPEAKER_01: Obviously with a little smirk.
- 5:22SPEAKER_01: I think we would all like to think that someone is watching over us and that we'll be able to do the same for our kids when we are gone.
- 5:28SPEAKER_01: Looking down, still being that proud parent.
- 5:30SPEAKER_01: On the other hand, can you imagine being the parents of Dahmer, Bumbi, Jeffrey Longer?
- 5:36SPEAKER_01: They have to be looking down and saying, Man, did I fuck that up?
- 5:40SPEAKER_01: What was I thinking?
- 5:41SPEAKER_01: Now you know where I came up with the name Trap Souls.
- 5:44SPEAKER_01: Hopefully, like the majority of paranormal investigators, we can try to help some of them out.
- 5:49SPEAKER_01: Let them know they're not trapped.
- 5:51SPEAKER_01: Maybe get their story out.
- 5:52SPEAKER_01: Or maybe they're just trapped here for a reason.
- 5:55SPEAKER_01: We don't know.
- 5:56SPEAKER_01: Most people want to believe spirits that are trapped here, lost here, are just poor souls that are trapped or lost through the lost puppies and babies.
- 6:07SPEAKER_01: Not saying everyone who's trapped here is evil.
- 6:09SPEAKER_01: There probably are some nice ones out there, just like people.
- 6:12SPEAKER_01: But we can't disregard that some of them just could have been assholes.
- 6:16SPEAKER_01: And maybe they deserve to be trapped.
- 6:18SPEAKER_01: I know there's some living souls out there that disagree with what I believe in, and I'm fine with that.
- 6:23SPEAKER_01: You have your beliefs, and I respect them.
- 6:26SPEAKER_01: And I hope you do the same with my beliefs.
- 6:28SPEAKER_01: There are many beliefs out there based off faith and religion about the spiritual world.
- 6:33SPEAKER_01: Honestly, I don't know if we will ever find out the truth.
- 6:36SPEAKER_01: You will have your faith, religion, to what you believe in.
- 6:39SPEAKER_01: I just ask respect and keep an open mind to others' beliefs.
- 6:44SPEAKER_01: And don't get tricked.
- 6:46SPEAKER_01: If you agree or disagree with me, or would like to come on the podcast to talk about what you believe in, send me a message, trapsouls0 at gmail.com.
- 6:56SPEAKER_01: Or message us on Facebook, Trap Souls or Nuclear Soul Seekers.
- 7:01SPEAKER_01: Thanks for listening to another episode of Dead Space.
- 7:04SPEAKER_01: This is Trap Souls.
