- 0:00Speaker 1: The Mark Simon Show on seven or well, Hey, we
- 0:09Speaker 1: got a lot to get to this hour. Prince Andrew,
- 0:11Speaker 1: as you know, was arrested like seven hours ago eight
- 0:16Speaker 1: hours apparently, is still in custody as we speak. He
- 0:20Speaker 1: remains in custody and police are searching his residences. I
- 0:26Speaker 1: guess they're going through his computers. Oh my god, could
- 0:28Speaker 1: you mention what's on this guy's computer? This is not
- 0:33Speaker 1: going to go well for him. They're looking through documents.
- 0:36Speaker 1: There are also a lot of people who are saying
- 0:40Speaker 1: that this guy's going to be in real trouble Prince Andrew,
- 0:43Speaker 1: and if they seize his computers and look at his
- 0:46Speaker 1: Google searches and what porn sites he was on and
- 0:50Speaker 1: this is it's going to be very bad for him.
- 0:52Speaker 1: So he's going to find himself in major trouble, facing prison.
- 0:57Speaker 1: Most people say that know him say, this is a
- 0:59Speaker 1: guy who will squeez talk, do anything to get out
- 1:01Speaker 1: of trouble, make a deal. He will turn people in
- 1:04Speaker 1: left and right. Who knows what he knows and what
- 1:08Speaker 1: he can trade. But this is going to get very
- 1:10Speaker 1: very interesting, cops, are you know, Although he's got a
- 1:16Speaker 1: couple of residences, a convoy of vehicles pulled into his
- 1:21Speaker 1: various houses, convoys of vehicles, and they're searching everything. The
- 1:25Speaker 1: search is continuing as we speak. This is again, this
- 1:30Speaker 1: is going to be really ugly before it's over. We
- 1:33Speaker 1: have assembled off the Iranian coast, off the near Iran.
- 1:37Speaker 1: We have the biggest strike force we've assembled in I
- 1:41Speaker 1: think ever, maybe huge, huge, huge strike force. We've just
- 1:48Speaker 1: sent the USS Gerald Ford there. That is the largest
- 1:52Speaker 1: warship on Earth. It's the most advanced aircraft carrier we
- 1:56Speaker 1: have nuclear powered. It's designed to carry more than seven
- 2:00Speaker 1: five aircraft F thirty five c's lightning two stealth fighters,
- 2:05Speaker 1: super hornets, growler radar jamming jets. I mean, this is
- 2:09Speaker 1: serious stuff. This is in addition to everything else. We've
- 2:13Speaker 1: got four destroyers there. We've got destroyers patrolling the straits
- 2:18Speaker 1: of Hormoose. We've got the Lincoln warship is there. So
- 2:23Speaker 1: this is really really serious stuff. This is way way,
- 2:27Speaker 1: way beyond what we did in Venezuela. And Iran is
- 2:33Speaker 1: doing what Iran usually does, being ridiculous, threatening everything on Earth,
- 2:38Speaker 1: threatening the president, threatening all kinds of stuff. But again
- 2:43Speaker 1: Maduro tried that it's not a good strategy. But if
- 2:46Speaker 1: they were smart, they would make a deal of some kind.
- 2:50Speaker 1: We are negotiating with them in Europe. I think in Paris,
- 2:53Speaker 1: if they had any brains, they would make a deal.
- 2:56Speaker 1: But they think they're just too stupid to do it.
- 2:58Speaker 1: Here's the White House Press Secretary.
- 3:00Speaker 2: President has always been very clear though, with respect to
- 3:02Speaker 2: Iran or any country around the world, diplomacy is always
- 3:04Speaker 2: his first option. And Iran would be very wise to
- 3:08Speaker 2: make a deal with President Trump and with this administration.
- 3:11Speaker 1: Uh. The keywords they're very wise. That's not Iran very crazy,
- 3:15Speaker 1: but not very wise. Here's Vice President Vance.
- 3:18Speaker 3: We do have a very powerful military. The President's shown
- 3:20Speaker 3: a willingness to use it. He also has a remarkable
- 3:22Speaker 3: diplomatic team. He shown a willingness to use that too.
- 3:25Speaker 3: Our primary interest here is we don't i Ran to
- 3:27Speaker 3: get a nuclear weapon. We don't want nuclear proliferation. If
- 3:30Speaker 3: it Ran gets a nuclear weapon, there are a lot
- 3:32Speaker 3: of other regimes, some friendly, some not so friendly, who
- 3:34Speaker 3: would get nuclear weapons after them. That would be a
- 3:37Speaker 3: disaster for the American people. The President has all options
- 3:40Speaker 3: on the table.
- 3:41Speaker 1: The brilliant response from Iran.
- 3:45Speaker 4: We have stated these many times, my own statements are
- 3:48Speaker 4: not important. What matters from an ideological standpoint is the
- 3:51Speaker 4: policy and the fatois of the Supreme Leader. We are
- 3:55Speaker 4: in no way seeking nuclear weapons. Whatever form of verification
- 3:59Speaker 4: they want to carry out, we are ready for that
- 4:01Speaker 4: verification to take place.
- 4:03Speaker 1: Well, that's great if you like lying gibberish. AOC is
- 4:06Speaker 1: more clear than that. What a word solid of nonsense.
- 4:09Speaker 1: So and again we've seen with the bombing of the
- 4:14Speaker 1: Iran nuclear facilities, which was an incredible military operation, from
- 4:19Speaker 1: the seizing of Maduro where we unveiled all kinds of
- 4:22Speaker 1: secret weapons nobody knew we had that just paralyzes the
- 4:25Speaker 1: enemy literally. We've seen all this. Obvious we always had
- 4:30Speaker 1: the most powerful military, but it's obvious that everything under
- 4:32Speaker 1: Trump in the last year has been cranked up to
- 4:35Speaker 1: absolute state of the art and beyond military weapons, tactics,
- 4:40Speaker 1: techniques and say what you want about Pete Hegseith, but
- 4:43Speaker 1: he is run now in his first year some of
- 4:46Speaker 1: the most amazing, unbelievable military operations ever. So if I
- 4:52Speaker 1: were Iran, I would take note of that. I would
- 4:54Speaker 1: take note of that. Obviously, our intelligence is very good
- 4:57Speaker 1: over there. When we took out the nuclear Actress, if
- 5:01Speaker 1: and people are saying this could happen soon as soon
- 5:03Speaker 1: as a Saturday, a couple of days from now. But
- 5:05Speaker 1: if this happens, obviously we will very very quickly, in
- 5:08Speaker 1: just seconds, take out every military asset of Iran. If
- 5:13Speaker 1: we wanted to go in and just seize the leader
- 5:14Speaker 1: and take them out, physically take them out. We saw
- 5:17Speaker 1: how we can do that with Maduro. So keep an
- 5:20Speaker 1: eye on that could happen this weekend. State of the
- 5:23Speaker 1: Union is Tuesday. Maybe they want to have it done
- 5:25Speaker 1: by tuesday, who knows, but keep an eye on it.
- 5:30Speaker 1: Nancy Guthrie, Hey, they're looking in Mexico. There is a
- 5:35Speaker 1: couple of these ransom notes. They don't know if they're real,
- 5:37Speaker 1: they're not real, but a couple of them have indicated
- 5:41Speaker 1: that she's in Mexico. Where she lives is very close.
- 5:44Speaker 1: It's like sixteen miles from the border. So as the
- 5:48Speaker 1: kidnappers escaped, obviously be smart and quick to get over
- 5:52Speaker 1: the border into Mexico. We have apparently started working with
- 5:56Speaker 1: Mexican authorities for them to start helping. You know, there's
- 5:59Speaker 1: a task. Everybody hates this local sheriff there, what's his name,
- 6:04Speaker 1: Nano nanos whatever, isn't it. They just think he's a
- 6:07Speaker 1: Barney Fife, grand standing, small town bumbling a show off.
- 6:13Speaker 1: But we've got the FBI there. Apparently with the FBI
- 6:16Speaker 1: and the FEDS, the Trump is sent. They have a
- 6:18Speaker 1: team of four hundred people on the ground, four hundred
- 6:22Speaker 1: working on this. Here's Harvey Levin.
- 6:23Speaker 5: The search for Nancy got three has gone international. We
- 6:26Speaker 5: have learned the FBI has told federal Mexican law enforcement
- 6:31Speaker 5: to tell various police agencies to be on the lookout
- 6:35Speaker 5: for Nancy and her kidnapper. Now, our law enforcement sources
- 6:39Speaker 5: are telling us that it is possible. They believe that
- 6:43Speaker 5: Nancy was taken across the border, but they doubt if
- 6:47Speaker 5: she is across the border, that it happened directly after
- 6:51Speaker 5: the kidnapping.
- 6:53Speaker 1: Well, we'll see. Hey, Stephen Colbert, this is hard to
- 6:56Speaker 1: believe he lied to us. Could you believe that called
- 7:00Speaker 1: Beert lying? Well, this all started when he was trying
- 7:03Speaker 1: to push a certain candidate who's running for the Senate
- 7:06Speaker 1: in Texas, Tarrico, what's his name, Tall Rico, And they
- 7:13Speaker 1: had him on to do a big interview with him
- 7:14Speaker 1: to help promote him, try to help him win that
- 7:17Speaker 1: Senate seat that primary. Well, the FCC stepped in. Now,
- 7:23Speaker 1: there has always been this equal time law. If you
- 7:26Speaker 1: have a candidate on during an election, you're supposed to
- 7:29Speaker 1: offer time to the opposing candidate. And this equal time
- 7:32Speaker 1: law has been there for a million years. However, over
- 7:36Speaker 1: the last twenty thirty years it stopped being a factor.
- 7:40Speaker 1: They just stopped enforcing it. They never bothered anybody with it.
- 7:43Speaker 1: Nobody ever said anything but the Trump administration because the
- 7:46Speaker 1: media is so biased now and such fake news, they've
- 7:49Speaker 1: decided to start enforcing that again. So they've let people
- 7:53Speaker 1: know they've been apparently investigating the view because they've been
- 7:57Speaker 1: having also to a one sided nonsense. When they want
- 8:01Speaker 1: to push a Democrat, they're having a Democrat on and
- 8:04Speaker 1: never allowing any Republican equal time. And that's what Colbert
- 8:08Speaker 1: was doing here, not allowing the opponent equal time. Well,
- 8:11Speaker 1: Colbert's been lying to us all week claiming that a
- 8:14Speaker 1: CBS stepped in and said he can't have this guy on.
- 8:16Speaker 1: They refused to air the interview, and CBS and everybody
- 8:21Speaker 1: involved pointing out they never said that to him. They
- 8:23Speaker 1: simply said, you can't air this unless you offer the
- 8:26Speaker 1: other side equal time, which is fair. We would all
- 8:30Speaker 1: do that. Remember during the mayor race, we had Curtis
- 8:33Speaker 1: on all the time. Every couple of weeks we had
- 8:35Speaker 1: Curtis on. Now, if I ever got a call from
- 8:38Speaker 1: Andrew Cuomo or the Mom Donnie campaign said we want
- 8:41Speaker 1: equal time, you'd say yes. Of course, you would say yes. Well,
- 8:45Speaker 1: why would I say no? Now? They never called because
- 8:48Speaker 1: they know it's probably not going to be a you know,
- 8:51Speaker 1: a friendly interview. I mean, we wouldn't be unfriendly, but
- 8:54Speaker 1: we'd ask him tough questions and debate them on. So
- 8:58Speaker 1: they generally don't ask. But of course would give equal time.
- 9:01Speaker 1: But Colbert, being a totally corrupt sleees ball partisan, wouldn't
- 9:05Speaker 1: allow the other side equal time. Jasmine Crockett says they tried,
- 9:10Speaker 1: but they couldn't get anywhere. So even the FCC Commissioner
- 9:14Speaker 1: on television yesterday pointing out they never ever would say,
- 9:17Speaker 1: you can't have this guy on. You have to offer
- 9:19Speaker 1: for equal time. It's the right thing to do, it's
- 9:22Speaker 1: the fair thing to do. In fact, whenever if I
- 9:26Speaker 1: went on and said terrible things about somebody and they
- 9:29Speaker 1: called and said, hey, I want an equal time, of course,
- 9:31Speaker 1: you'd give it to him, you know, a major figure,
- 9:34Speaker 1: a candidate, a politician, of course you would. But Colbert
- 9:38Speaker 1: being the dirty weasel that he is, so he lied
- 9:41Speaker 1: about all of this and there's not going to be
- 9:46Speaker 1: any real consequence. He's already fired. There's nothing he can do.
- 9:49Speaker 1: I guess that's one reason he behaves so badly. He's
- 9:51Speaker 1: already fired. His last day is in May. He's already fired.
- 9:55Speaker 1: What can they do to him. They could pull him
- 9:57Speaker 1: off the air early, but it's you know, it's a
- 10:00Speaker 1: big show. As far as the production. It's like one
- 10:02Speaker 1: hundred and twenty people work on this show. So if
- 10:05Speaker 1: you're the network, when you cancel Stephen Colbert or any
- 10:09Speaker 1: network show, you have to leave it on for a
- 10:11Speaker 1: few months. For a lot of reasons. You got to
- 10:13Speaker 1: figure out what to do with these hundred and twenty
- 10:15Speaker 1: CBS employees. You try to place them somewhere else. You've
- 10:18Speaker 1: got this massive theater that you got to figure out
- 10:20Speaker 1: what you're going to do with that. Also, you do
- 10:22Speaker 1: have affiliates. There's a couple hundred TV stations that are affiliates,
- 10:26Speaker 1: and if it's a network show, you can't just drop
- 10:28Speaker 1: it that night because now what do the affiliates do?
- 10:30Speaker 1: So you got to figure out something to give them
- 10:33Speaker 1: or give them time to come up with an alternative plan. Hey,
- 10:38Speaker 1: there's a big trial going on with Mark Zuckerberg testifying
- 10:44Speaker 1: the company Facebook. It's actually called Meta, but the company
- 10:48Speaker 1: is being accused, like the other social media companies, TikTok
- 10:52Speaker 1: and all of that stuff, Instagram, of using these algorithms
- 10:55Speaker 1: to suck you in and make you binge. These algorithms
- 11:00Speaker 1: get you addicted, addicted to TikTok, so you and the
- 11:07Speaker 1: suit came from somebody, twenty year old woman who said
- 11:10Speaker 1: it ruined her life. She got so addicted she was
- 11:13Speaker 1: on Instagram or Facebook sixteen hours a day. Listen. I'm
- 11:21Speaker 1: kind of on Zuckerberg's side on this. Hey, by the way,
- 11:23Speaker 1: the other companies, Google, YouTube, Snap, TikTok all settled the case.
- 11:28Speaker 1: They didn't want to go through this. They cut last
- 11:30Speaker 1: minute deals. But I don't blame a meta. Zuckerberg is
- 11:34Speaker 1: fighting this. Yeah, I'm sure they do arrange the algorithm
- 11:38Speaker 1: to try to keep you on, but everybody does it. Hey,
- 11:41Speaker 1: we do that here, every radio show, every radio station
- 11:45Speaker 1: does that. Every radio What do you call that forward motion?
- 11:49Speaker 1: When you go to the commercial. Every newscast on TV,
- 11:52Speaker 1: every TV show they do that. They just don't say,
- 11:56Speaker 1: here's the commercial and then we'll be back. They say, hey,
- 11:59Speaker 1: coming up next, exclusive interview with so and so. That's
- 12:02Speaker 1: to get you to stay through the commercial. And there's
- 12:05Speaker 1: all kinds of things you do during a show to
- 12:06Speaker 1: keep people listening. It's called the teas. You tease them
- 12:11Speaker 1: with something coming up so they don't go away. It's
- 12:13Speaker 1: done everywhere. It's done. It's done in restaurants, it's done
- 12:18Speaker 1: in supermarkets. You know, when you go to the restaurant,
- 12:20Speaker 1: you open the menu, you think, well, they just listed
- 12:23Speaker 1: what they have. Now, there's all kinds of tricks on
- 12:25Speaker 1: that menu. They lay it out in a certain way
- 12:29Speaker 1: to trick you into you know, they always put at
- 12:31Speaker 1: the top of the list something really expensive. Let's say
- 12:35Speaker 1: it's the entrees. So there's some caviaar something this one
- 12:40Speaker 1: hundred and ten dollars. You go, oh my god. Now
- 12:43Speaker 1: right under it they got the chicken a dish and
- 12:46Speaker 1: that's thirty two dollars. Now when you see that, you go, well,
- 12:50Speaker 1: that's better. I'll get that. When if it was if
- 12:53Speaker 1: they didn't put that ridiculous expensive thing at the top
- 12:57Speaker 1: you would have normally you would have said thirty two
- 12:59Speaker 1: dollars or chicken. That's a lot of money. So there's
- 13:01Speaker 1: all kinds of tricks. You know, when you walk into
- 13:03Speaker 1: a supermarket, they've laid it out. It's a trap. Everything
- 13:06Speaker 1: is an algorithm designed to get you to spend more money.
- 13:10Speaker 1: You know, when you walk into any supermarket, the part
- 13:12Speaker 1: you walk into is very brightly lit, and you notice
- 13:16Speaker 1: wherever you walk in, the first thing that's around you
- 13:18Speaker 1: are flowers and happy stuff. That's to get you in
- 13:23Speaker 1: a good mood. Also, you smell the flowers. It gets
- 13:26Speaker 1: you smelling. Then everybody most people turn right because they're
- 13:29Speaker 1: right handed, so you'll always come in and turn right.
- 13:32Speaker 1: What do you get when you turn in right? The
- 13:34Speaker 1: bakery is there, so you smell the bakery. It gets
- 13:37Speaker 1: you hungry, it gets you in the mood, and then
- 13:40Speaker 1: it's all laid out to trap you. You know. They
- 13:42Speaker 1: put the expensive items eye level on the shelves. There
- 13:46Speaker 1: are cheaper versions, but they're down below. Eye level is
- 13:49Speaker 1: the expensive stuff. And they always put the essentials, the
- 13:54Speaker 1: things you're probably there for, way in the back, all
- 13:57Speaker 1: the way in the back like eggs, milk all the
- 14:01Speaker 1: way in the back, so that way you got to
- 14:02Speaker 1: go through every aisle to get to this stuff. It's
- 14:05Speaker 1: all a trap. Everybody does that restaurant, you know, restaurants
- 14:09Speaker 1: do that. They've got it all figured out. They know
- 14:11Speaker 1: exactly the temperature that'll make you hungry. It's seventy two degrees.
- 14:16Speaker 1: The music is always sixty beats per minute, right to
- 14:18Speaker 1: your heartbeat, makes you comfortable, makes your order. It's all
- 14:23Speaker 1: a trap. I speaking to restaurants. I was in Connecticut
- 14:27Speaker 1: last weekend. Loon weekends. I go to Connecticut. I Saturday,
- 14:31Speaker 1: I can't find my credit card. Did I lose it?
- 14:35Speaker 1: Did I drop it? And then I'm thinking where did
- 14:37Speaker 1: I use it? Well, the night before Friday night, I
- 14:40Speaker 1: was at Jay House. That's a great restaurant Connecticut, Greenwich,
- 14:43Speaker 1: probably the hottest restaurant Connecticut. Jay House. I said, I
- 14:47Speaker 1: ate there, maybe I left it there. I go over there.
- 14:51Speaker 1: I walk in. There's Tony the owner, and I said, hey,
- 14:54Speaker 1: I think I left my credit card here last night.
- 14:57Speaker 1: I felt really stupid, but he said, hey, let me check.
- 14:59Speaker 1: Go says something to somebody behind the counter. They hand
- 15:03Speaker 1: him a stack of like thirty five credit cards and
- 15:07Speaker 1: he's going through. I said, that's how many people leave
- 15:09Speaker 1: their credit card He says, yeah, every day, it's normal.
- 15:13Speaker 1: So I didn't feel so stupid. There was my credit
- 15:14Speaker 1: card in there. So then every restaurant I went to,
- 15:16Speaker 1: I said, you have a stack of credit cards people
- 15:18Speaker 1: left every restaurant. They pulled it. Yeah, here's one hundred
- 15:21Speaker 1: and twelve these. Everybody leaves credit cards every night. Now,
- 15:25Speaker 1: a year ago, I lost these sunglasses, really nice sunglasses.
- 15:30Speaker 1: I couldn't. I don't know where. I think maybe I
- 15:33Speaker 1: was eating in a little scal last night. Maybe I
- 15:35Speaker 1: left them there. I went right over there. I said,
- 15:39Speaker 1: did you find a pair of sunglasses? And the manager
- 15:42Speaker 1: says well, and I start describing. He said, well, no, wait, wait,
- 15:44Speaker 1: you can look for them yourself. I said, what do
- 15:46Speaker 1: you mean. He pulls out a box of two hundred
- 15:49Speaker 1: sunglasses that were left there. So it's not just me unbelievable.
- 15:54Speaker 1: I'm looking through them now. And then after that, every
- 15:58Speaker 1: time I went to a restaurant, of a box of
- 16:00Speaker 1: sunglasses that people left every restaurant, they reach behind the counter,
- 16:04Speaker 1: pull up a box of two hundred, three hundred sunglasses
- 16:07Speaker 1: that are left there. So I know. Sunglasses you pay
- 16:10Speaker 1: a fortune for them. You don't have to pay it
- 16:11Speaker 1: for them. Just go into a restaurant and say I
- 16:13Speaker 1: left my sunglasses. They'll pull up that box at two hundred.
- 16:17Speaker 1: Just see any pair. You're like, this is it? Thank you. Hey,
- 16:20Speaker 1: we'll take some calls next. Eight hundred three two one
- 16:23Speaker 1: zero seven ten is the number eight hundred three two
- 16:26Speaker 1: one zero seven ten
