Transcript
- 0:08Speaker 1: All right, here we go. It's the third and final hour,
- 0:11Speaker 1: at least for today of the morning show with Preston
- 0:13Speaker 1: Scott's show five five five five, never to come this
- 0:17Speaker 1: way again. It will be the only show five hundred
- 0:22Speaker 1: and fifty five. But then you could say that about
- 0:25Speaker 1: every show that I do. It's the only one that
- 0:26Speaker 1: I'm going to do. And I am joined by co
- 0:29Speaker 1: founder of the Talent Training Group, co host of Talent Outdoors.
- 0:32Speaker 1: He is Jad Johnson. Hello, sir, how are you?
- 0:36Speaker 2: I'm great? How about you?
- 0:37Speaker 1: So I'm good. How long after the attacks began over
- 0:47Speaker 1: the weekend did it start to register to you that
- 0:53Speaker 1: we could see some repercussions domestically here in America immediately? Okay?
- 0:59Speaker 2: And that's that's been a substantial concern of mine since,
- 1:04Speaker 2: I mean even before this, when when the border was
- 1:08Speaker 2: so porous that millions of people were coming across, and
- 1:13Speaker 2: I had friends that were deployed down there and working
- 1:17Speaker 2: down there and all this stuff, and that they're like, yeah,
- 1:20Speaker 2: we're we're seeing people that are uh not Central American,
- 1:24Speaker 2: South American coming across the border. We're seeing people from
- 1:27Speaker 2: all over the world. And that's a that is a
- 1:32Speaker 2: scary scary proposition when you when you open the gates
- 1:35Speaker 2: and let the wolves in uh in the field with
- 1:39Speaker 2: you cows, that's scary.
- 1:41Speaker 1: It's not just the people that you know that, it's
- 1:45Speaker 1: the god aways.
- 1:47Speaker 2: Absolutely, that's That's what I'm talking about. The the ones
- 1:51Speaker 2: that got away. We we know, we know that they
- 1:54Speaker 2: stopped and caught and confronted known terrorists at the border
- 1:59Speaker 2: at the southern or what didn't they catch what if
- 2:03Speaker 2: they I mean, a lot of those folks that they
- 2:05Speaker 2: apprehended at the border were simply just walking across and
- 2:09Speaker 2: they go make contact with them. It wasn't a game
- 2:12Speaker 2: of hide and seek or run them down or chase
- 2:14Speaker 2: them down or whatever it was they sent, you know,
- 2:16Speaker 2: essentially walked up to the border patrol people and in
- 2:20Speaker 2: a group or whatever. But imagine the ones that were
- 2:23Speaker 2: trying to stealthily enter the country. Those are your bad ones,
- 2:27Speaker 2: the ones that got away.
- 2:28Speaker 1: Mm hmm.
- 2:29Speaker 2: So you've you've introduced untold numbers of bad people into
- 2:34Speaker 2: this country, probably with with bad intentions. Not just bad people,
- 2:38Speaker 2: but bad people with bad intentions.
- 2:40Speaker 1: Let's set aside the gun running that the Obama administration
- 2:43Speaker 1: did that ended up in the hands of the cartels.
- 2:45Speaker 1: Let's set that aside, and except that people can come
- 2:49Speaker 1: across the border with all manner of ordinance.
- 2:52Speaker 2: Absolutely, there's not controlled in other countries like it is here.
- 2:56Speaker 2: Not to mention the cartel being heavily armed in the
- 3:00Speaker 2: to essentially attack us. There's been some border skirmishes with
- 3:04Speaker 2: the cartel where they're shooting big ordnance across the river.
- 3:08Speaker 2: You know, we're shooting back at them, so stuff that
- 3:11Speaker 2: we don't have available, you know. So that's that's been
- 3:15Speaker 2: going on.
- 3:15Speaker 1: And we know that the spickett is Iran. Iran has
- 3:19Speaker 1: been the worldwide sponsor and funder of this type of thing,
- 3:25Speaker 1: and so the likelihood of their being as as you know,
- 3:28Speaker 1: Homeland Security Director Christy no mentioned in testimony yesterday, the
- 3:33Speaker 1: likelihood of sleeper cells being in this country is high.
- 3:37Speaker 2: Absolutely it is. Is it a guarantee, I don't think
- 3:41Speaker 2: anything is guaranteed, but likely, it is highly likely. Ye okay,
- 3:46Speaker 2: that's going on right now.
- 3:48Speaker 1: We also had, if I recall JD, we had Iran
- 3:53Speaker 1: all but confirmed that there were hit squads in the
- 3:56Speaker 1: country wanting to kill Trump during the campaign. That's great,
- 4:02Speaker 1: So that all but verifies that we have people in
- 4:05Speaker 1: this country.
- 4:06Speaker 2: Absolutely it does. And that's terrifying. You know, it's a
- 4:09Speaker 2: terrifying prospect that that could be going on or is
- 4:14Speaker 2: going on.
- 4:15Speaker 1: When we come back, I want to talk about what
- 4:18Speaker 1: does that mean to just the folks listening to the
- 4:21Speaker 1: radio right now, because I shared with you one article.
- 4:25Speaker 1: It's one of many articles that are out there right
- 4:27Speaker 1: now saying and of course it's coming from more Second
- 4:32Speaker 1: Amendment oriented conservative outlets saying, oh, by the way, you
- 4:37Speaker 1: better start paying attention to people that either do carry
- 4:42Speaker 1: or don't carry, but maybe should. And we're going to
- 4:45Speaker 1: I want to talk about that when we come back.
- 4:47Speaker 1: Jadie Johnson with me from the Talent Training group, remember
- 4:50Speaker 1: Talentrange dot com Personal Defense segment. I had a feeling
- 4:57Speaker 1: we were gonna take this in a different direction, and
- 5:01Speaker 1: it is. It is by intent. We live in a
- 5:06Speaker 1: fallen world, you know, not just because of what happened
- 5:09Speaker 1: over the weekend, JD, but just you know, people just
- 5:12Speaker 1: do crazy things, and we're watching a lot of really
- 5:18Speaker 1: difficult things to watch happen, and you just don't know
- 5:21Speaker 1: when something will happen around you and where. So speak
- 5:26Speaker 1: to the people out there right now about what we
- 5:29Speaker 1: ought to be thinking about now that there's this reality
- 5:32Speaker 1: of the potential of targeted attacks on anybody.
- 5:38Speaker 2: I would just say, you're going to have to be
- 5:40Speaker 2: extremely prepared to deal with something out of the ordinary
- 5:44Speaker 2: or potentially something out of the ordinary. And you've got
- 5:48Speaker 2: two different You've got two different concerns. You've got an organize.
- 5:51Speaker 2: You may potentially have an organized group of people following
- 5:58Speaker 2: orders that go out to do something bad. You also
- 6:01Speaker 2: may have people that look at what's going on in
- 6:07Speaker 2: Iran as a religious war, so in that or individuals
- 6:13Speaker 2: lone wolf, whatever you want to call it, these guys
- 6:15Speaker 2: that are folks that are highly upset because Christian Jewish
- 6:21Speaker 2: nations have attacked a Muslim nation. We've seen that every
- 6:25Speaker 2: time there's been conflict in the Middle East, we've seen
- 6:30Speaker 2: these lone wolf attacks. There was a husband and wife
- 6:33Speaker 2: for a couple out in California back years ago that
- 6:36Speaker 2: went and did a mass shooting. So that's the potential
- 6:40Speaker 2: for all of that stuff is much higher right now
- 6:42Speaker 2: because of the conflict. And I think that's what you
- 6:45Speaker 2: had in honestly, the thing in Austin where the guy
- 6:48Speaker 2: goes in the nightclub, bar or whatever whatever it was,
- 6:54Speaker 2: I'm pretty sure he was just a lone wolf guy
- 6:56Speaker 2: that was a zealot that was went over the top
- 6:59Speaker 2: and said, listen, I'm gonna go kill some people that
- 7:02Speaker 2: believe differently than me.
- 7:04Speaker 1: You know. The Iotola, Marco Rubio warned in twenty fifteen
- 7:10Speaker 1: on the floor of the Senate. It's something we're going
- 7:12Speaker 1: to play tomorrow. He warned that, and he stated, I
- 7:17Speaker 1: want this recorded for history, that this deal that Barack
- 7:22Speaker 1: Obama initiated to begin the nuclear proliferation in Iran, that
- 7:28Speaker 1: this is going to lead to this. And he was
- 7:30Speaker 1: on the money across the board, but he pointed this out.
- 7:33Speaker 1: He said, the Iotola, the Supreme Leader, is an apocalyptic leader.
- 7:37Speaker 1: He believes it is his God ordained mission from Allah
- 7:42Speaker 1: to eliminate Israel from the face of the earth, and
- 7:45Speaker 1: anyone who supports Israel and anyone who then beyond that
- 7:48Speaker 1: is an infidel. That was what he believed. There are
- 7:52Speaker 1: those that think that way here in America.
- 7:54Speaker 2: Absolutely there are some of them are silly enough to
- 7:59Speaker 2: go out and show themselves and say things and put
- 8:01Speaker 2: themselves out there, and uh, just like your guy that's
- 8:04Speaker 2: telling them to son Piker, Yeah, here go Bill, This
- 8:07Speaker 2: is how you build drone bombs. You know. Uh, that's
- 8:11Speaker 2: that's insane that they're letting that guy do that. I
- 8:16Speaker 2: don't know what law they would use to stop him
- 8:18Speaker 2: from doing that, but somebody needs to stop him from
- 8:21Speaker 2: doing that.
- 8:22Speaker 1: I'm gonna, I'm gonna, I'm gonna ask you to start
- 8:25Speaker 1: to almost like go back to where we started these
- 8:29Speaker 1: segments in just a few minutes. But to me, the
- 8:32Speaker 1: way to avoid paranoia is through preparation.
- 8:37Speaker 2: Preparation and vigilance, you know, paying attention to things that
- 8:42Speaker 2: are out of the ordinary.
- 8:44Speaker 1: Because that's what we've talked about, is you don't have
- 8:46Speaker 1: to go around worried and fearful if you're simply prepared.
- 8:52Speaker 2: Absolutely, we are.
- 8:54Speaker 1: Talking about I have a hard time calling it a
- 8:58Speaker 1: new reality, but maybe a new awareness of a reality
- 9:03Speaker 1: that we've had for quite a while. And maybe now
- 9:06Speaker 1: there's the incentive for bad guys to act because of
- 9:09Speaker 1: what's happened in Iran. And we know about Islamic extremists.
- 9:14Speaker 1: They think differently and they are different and it's a
- 9:17Speaker 1: serious threat. But now we've got two groups of people listening.
- 9:20Speaker 1: We got someone who you know, might be someone that
- 9:23Speaker 1: is a firearm owner and sits out there at the
- 9:28Speaker 1: range and goes out in the farm and the land
- 9:31Speaker 1: and plunks targets. They what do they need to be
- 9:34Speaker 1: doing differently?
- 9:35Speaker 2: Well, the marksmanship, target shooting, whatever you want to call it,
- 9:41Speaker 2: and shooting, combat shooting or defensive shooting, fighting with a gun,
- 9:46Speaker 2: or two very different things. They need to know that
- 9:50Speaker 2: if you're going to practice self defense, combat, whatever you
- 9:53Speaker 2: want to call it, you need to be practicing at
- 9:58Speaker 2: the speed of life. And what I mean by that
- 10:00Speaker 2: is it there's there's you know, we operate when humans
- 10:05Speaker 2: are interact with each other, we always operate at a
- 10:09Speaker 2: certain a certain speed. It is it is essentially a
- 10:14Speaker 2: quarter of a second, so point zero point twenty five
- 10:16Speaker 2: seconds per thought or action. So in theory, you should
- 10:22Speaker 2: be able to recognize a threat, reach for your firearm,
- 10:27Speaker 2: draw it from the holster, and engage that target in
- 10:30Speaker 2: about a second and a quarter. About one in a
- 10:32Speaker 2: quarter seconds is about the amount of time that it
- 10:34Speaker 2: takes all of those signals to process in your brain.
- 10:38Speaker 2: It's just like you driving down the road and the
- 10:40Speaker 2: car in front of you puts the brakes on. We've
- 10:41Speaker 2: all heard this. It's going to take you about three
- 10:43Speaker 2: quarters of a second to recognize the fact that the
- 10:46Speaker 2: car in front of you is coming to a sudden
- 10:48Speaker 2: stop and that you need to do something about it.
- 10:51Speaker 2: Your brain has to tell your foot to go to
- 10:52Speaker 2: the break and stop the car. Right, So we we
- 10:55Speaker 2: operate under those speeds. Most people, when they go to
- 10:58Speaker 2: the rains, they don't operate under those. They take their time,
- 11:02Speaker 2: they aim, They make sure that their stance and their
- 11:05Speaker 2: grip and their side alignment and all these things are
- 11:07Speaker 2: absolutely in perfect order before they break the shot. That
- 11:10Speaker 2: that's not how things work in real life. Okay, under stress,
- 11:13Speaker 2: That's just not how they work. So we have to
- 11:17Speaker 2: have some inducers or some way to induce that, and
- 11:19Speaker 2: the best way to do it is with a shot
- 11:21Speaker 2: time or we rent them, we sell them, we make
- 11:24Speaker 2: them available to customers.
- 11:26Speaker 1: Say something that audibly triggers you, gives.
- 11:29Speaker 2: You, It gives you a queue, It deeps, it gives
- 11:31Speaker 2: you a queue, and then it registers. It hears the
- 11:35Speaker 2: shots that you. When you take a shot, it hears
- 11:37Speaker 2: that and it'll tell you, Okay, well you made that
- 11:39Speaker 2: shot in one point five seconds or whatever. So we
- 11:45Speaker 2: try to work on our speed and accuracy. That's some
- 11:49Speaker 2: of the tools that we use.
- 11:50Speaker 1: As you were talking about the time it takes for
- 11:53Speaker 1: us to act, it occurs to me that every bad guy,
- 11:57Speaker 1: whether we're talking about the domestic or international terrorist or
- 12:02Speaker 1: just the random bad guy that has a plan to
- 12:04Speaker 1: commit a crime, they have in their mind the way
- 12:07Speaker 1: that they think it's going to go, and the moment
- 12:10Speaker 1: you introduce some new variable, now they're thinking and taking
- 12:14Speaker 1: up that time we're just talking about.
- 12:17Speaker 2: Correct There's tons of words been written about it. It's
- 12:21Speaker 2: called the Ooda loop. If you've ever read any combat pilots.
- 12:28Speaker 2: One of the guys that he turned out to be
- 12:31Speaker 2: a kind of a bad guy, but it was. His
- 12:33Speaker 2: last name was Cunningham. He was an ACE pilot. He
- 12:35Speaker 2: talks a lot about it, if you ever find an
- 12:37Speaker 2: interview with him or read some of the stuff he's
- 12:40Speaker 2: written about it. And with In a fighter pilot where
- 12:42Speaker 2: you've got a dogfight going on between two jet pilots,
- 12:45Speaker 2: they're constantly trying to do something to cause the other
- 12:48Speaker 2: guy to have to react as opposed to them. If
- 12:51Speaker 2: you're always reacting to your opponent, there are always three
- 12:55Speaker 2: quarters of a second ahead of you, So we have
- 12:58Speaker 2: to do something to cause them to have to think
- 13:01Speaker 2: or cause them to have to change from like you said,
- 13:05Speaker 2: from they're predetermined in your head. You know, you've got
- 13:10Speaker 2: an idea or you've thought about how it's gonna happen,
- 13:13Speaker 2: and it never happens.
- 13:14Speaker 1: There's a movie in your mind.
- 13:15Speaker 2: Yeah, there's a movie up there going on in your head,
- 13:17Speaker 2: and you think everything is going along. Well, yeah, the
- 13:20Speaker 2: minute the script takes a takes a hard rite and
- 13:23Speaker 2: you go, well, well, that's not how I plan this.
- 13:26Speaker 2: You better have a you better have a way to
- 13:29Speaker 2: change things and react to that.
- 13:31Speaker 1: So for those of you that are firearm owners and
- 13:34Speaker 1: you know you believe in the Second Amendment and you've
- 13:36Speaker 1: thought about the whole idea of personal defense, I think
- 13:39Speaker 1: what we're suggesting to you is you need to now
- 13:43Speaker 1: step up your training from paper targets to something a
- 13:46Speaker 1: little bit more realistic and you can help them with that.
- 13:49Speaker 2: Yeah, we have a we have a really really nice
- 13:52Speaker 2: machine out there. That's uh that you know in the
- 13:55Speaker 2: military and law enforcement have been using these these type
- 13:58Speaker 2: of things before, their scenario based training machines that gives
- 14:02Speaker 2: you a prompt and gives you a scenario. It's playing
- 14:06Speaker 2: a movie up there. On the screen yep. And we've
- 14:09Speaker 2: been we've incorporated those into our classes for years and
- 14:12Speaker 2: years and years, you know, to try to get people
- 14:15Speaker 2: to think.
- 14:16Speaker 1: It raises your heart rate a little bit.
- 14:18Speaker 2: It will raise your heart rate some if especially if
- 14:20Speaker 2: you're new to all this.
- 14:22Speaker 1: Yep.
- 14:22Speaker 2: It can be extremely stressful. If you're new to this,
- 14:26Speaker 2: you know it's but it's even good for people that
- 14:29Speaker 2: aren't new to it to make you do something different
- 14:32Speaker 2: or see things differently. That's the big thing, is seeing things,
- 14:36Speaker 2: seeing things differently.
- 14:38Speaker 1: We're talking about the possibilities of what people will face
- 14:43Speaker 1: in this country. Did we get a taste of it
- 14:45Speaker 1: in Austin, Texas just a few days ago. Perhaps more
- 14:48Speaker 1: than likely it was instigated by the actions of America
- 14:53Speaker 1: and Israel in Iran. And the fact of the matter
- 14:56Speaker 1: is we've got a lot of Muslim extremists in this country.
- 15:00Speaker 1: They're taking over communities. We've got one that's been elected.
- 15:03Speaker 1: He's engaging in takiya. He's lying, but he's a Muslim extremist.
- 15:07Speaker 1: Don't don't think for one seconds so around mom, Donnie
- 15:09Speaker 1: is not. He just was kind to the LGBTQ community
- 15:12Speaker 1: because it was expeditious for him to do so. But
- 15:16Speaker 1: we've we've talked about people that have firearms. Now what
- 15:20Speaker 1: about the people JD that have come to the realization
- 15:23Speaker 1: they need to do something. What is the starting point
- 15:26Speaker 1: Someone that's never considered a firearm and now they're thinking
- 15:29Speaker 1: about it.
- 15:30Speaker 2: Well, that's that is the starting point, the thinking about it?
- 15:33Speaker 2: Do I need? Do I need the ability to protect myself?
- 15:36Speaker 2: Do you know? So it's a it's a big decision
- 15:41Speaker 2: because it's a whole lot of Along with that ability
- 15:44Speaker 2: to defend yourself, an ability to defend your neighbor, your home,
- 15:47Speaker 2: whatever else, comes a whole lot of responsibility. And some
- 15:50Speaker 2: people tend to forget that.
- 15:51Speaker 1: It's not for everybody.
- 15:52Speaker 2: It is not for everybody, and it's but if you're
- 15:55Speaker 2: gonna take on that, if you're going to take on
- 15:57Speaker 2: that responsibility, you also have the risk reponsibility to be proficient.
- 16:02Speaker 2: And that's where a lot of people leave it off.
- 16:05Speaker 2: They'll go buy a gun and treat it like a
- 16:08Speaker 2: rabbit's foot on your keychain. Well, i've got a gun,
- 16:11Speaker 2: I can take care of myself. It doesn't work that way.
- 16:13Speaker 1: No, it does not.
- 16:14Speaker 2: It's you need to be spending as much or more
- 16:17Speaker 2: money or time or effort on practicing and getting proficient.
- 16:24Speaker 1: What's step one?
- 16:26Speaker 2: Step one, I would say is always this is get
- 16:29Speaker 2: some professional training, get an introduction, do it before.
- 16:33Speaker 1: You pick out a firearm, before you take grandpa's old gun.
- 16:37Speaker 2: And absolutely, I guarantee you there's somebody listening on this
- 16:42Speaker 2: radio today that I have not sold a gun to
- 16:44Speaker 2: over the gun counter that I said, before you do this,
- 16:48Speaker 2: you need to go take a class from us or
- 16:50Speaker 2: somebody else is going to do it the right way,
- 16:53Speaker 2: and you need to take a class. You're not ready
- 16:55Speaker 2: to buy a gun yet.
- 16:57Speaker 1: And that goes to almost anybody that's the first time
- 17:00Speaker 1: gun on.
- 17:00Speaker 2: Her absolutely, especially if they didn't grow up around them,
- 17:05Speaker 2: if it's a completely new subject, and even if you
- 17:08Speaker 2: did grow up around it and you grew up shooting
- 17:10Speaker 2: a twenty two at cans at the county dump, plinking, plinking.
- 17:16Speaker 2: I grew up shooting shooting rats and cans at the
- 17:19Speaker 2: county dump with my dad.
- 17:20Speaker 1: You know.
- 17:21Speaker 2: I grew up shooting birds with my grandfather, shooting you know,
- 17:24Speaker 2: quail hunting and dove hunting, deer hunting, all this. I
- 17:26Speaker 2: grew up doing all those things with shotguns and rifles.
- 17:29Speaker 2: Never got it, never shot handguns until I was in
- 17:32Speaker 2: the police academy, you know, the police academy in nineteen
- 17:35Speaker 2: eighty eight or eighty nine or whenever it was. So
- 17:38Speaker 2: I wasn't familiar with any of this stuff until I
- 17:42Speaker 2: went and did that. And it's a whole different world.
- 17:46Speaker 2: Is There is so little that transfers from plinking hunting
- 17:54Speaker 2: to defending yourself.
- 17:56Speaker 1: It's what we mentioned with the guys and thes that
- 18:00Speaker 1: have guns, have used guns, and they're sitting there shooting
- 18:03Speaker 1: paper targets. That is not the same thing.
- 18:05Speaker 2: It is not the same thing. There are some skills
- 18:08Speaker 2: that are do transfer. Sure, I picked up being I
- 18:12Speaker 2: became a good pistol shooter in a lot shorter period
- 18:16Speaker 2: of time than most people do because I was familiar
- 18:18Speaker 2: with shooting, you know, with target shooting. So it does
- 18:22Speaker 2: some of the skills transfer, but the mindset is completely different.
- 18:26Speaker 1: So step one to anybody that's not a gun owner
- 18:30Speaker 1: that is now thinking about being a gun owner is
- 18:33Speaker 1: get training. Get some train first before you pick out
- 18:36Speaker 1: a firearm. That's number one, absolutely JD. We've got them
- 18:42Speaker 1: now thinking Okay, I'm gonna I'm gonna get some training.
- 18:46Speaker 1: What else what follows.
- 18:48Speaker 2: Well after the training, then you got to pick out equipment.
- 18:52Speaker 2: You know what you're going to carry, how you're going
- 18:54Speaker 2: to carry it, What ammunition am I going to use?
- 18:58Speaker 2: And we cover a lot of this stuff, and you
- 19:00Speaker 2: going to pick up a lot of this stuff if
- 19:01Speaker 2: you start down this path, there's different there's different different
- 19:05Speaker 2: ammunition for training than there is for effective self defense
- 19:09Speaker 2: and all of those things. But this is a this
- 19:13Speaker 2: is a can't be taken lightly. It is a huge responsibility.
- 19:17Speaker 2: Yes it is, and the the effort that goes into
- 19:22Speaker 2: it is a lifetime of effort. You don't quit, you've
- 19:26Speaker 2: been you you still train. I still train, not as
- 19:31Speaker 2: much as I should be the first one to admit,
- 19:34Speaker 2: you know.
- 19:35Speaker 1: But you have a lifetime experience to fall back on.
- 19:38Speaker 2: I do.
- 19:38Speaker 1: Rest of us don't.
- 19:39Speaker 2: I can go out and practice just a little bit
- 19:42Speaker 2: and be right back up to the speed I need
- 19:44Speaker 2: to be, you know, the operation operationally speaking. So, but
- 19:50Speaker 2: it takes a long time to develop those skills.
- 19:52Speaker 1: So what about the guy listening out there that, with
- 19:56Speaker 1: the best of intentions, is thinking, well, you know, I'm
- 19:59Speaker 1: away a lot. This is a serious thing that's happening
- 20:02Speaker 1: in our country. I want my wife as prepared as possible.
- 20:06Speaker 1: And man, they think the little lady needs a revolver,
- 20:09Speaker 1: so they just go to the gun counter.
- 20:11Speaker 2: Well that's not just that, it's it's I got I
- 20:13Speaker 2: gotta go buy my wife a gun. I gotta go
- 20:16Speaker 2: get my wife a gun. See this across the counter,
- 20:18Speaker 2: and I'm like, get your wife some training if she's
- 20:20Speaker 2: willing to do it. Hm, you know, And I see
- 20:23Speaker 2: the same faces sometime over the counter. Well, I bought
- 20:25Speaker 2: that one from a wife and she don't like it.
- 20:27Speaker 2: I kind of like it, so I'm gonna keep it.
- 20:29Speaker 2: And I mean, just be honest with me, dude, if
- 20:33Speaker 2: you want to buy a new gun, I get it. Yeah,
- 20:35Speaker 2: like guns too, uh you know. So don't don't go
- 20:38Speaker 2: by your wife anything unless your wife's standing there to
- 20:41Speaker 2: let her try it and whatever. You know, she needs
- 20:44Speaker 2: to pick it out. She needs to make that commitment.
- 20:46Speaker 2: And we have a lot we have women's groups that
- 20:49Speaker 2: come out and train together and to get away from
- 20:52Speaker 2: sometimes is maybe just to get away from the house
- 20:54Speaker 2: and go hang out with other other ladies and have
- 20:57Speaker 2: a good time, just kind of like I like to
- 20:58Speaker 2: go hunting with my buddies.
- 20:59Speaker 1: Factor fiction The best gun to start a lady out
- 21:03Speaker 1: with is a revolver.
- 21:04Speaker 2: Absolute fiction, absolute fiction.
- 21:07Speaker 1: You're a little lady needs a revolver?
- 21:09Speaker 2: Yeah, yeah. And revolvers require more skill to operate properly
- 21:13Speaker 2: than some my autos do in my professional opinion, And
- 21:18Speaker 2: they're more punishing to the hand. They're less comfortable to shoot.
- 21:21Speaker 2: They weren't, I guarantee you yes. And but there are
- 21:25Speaker 2: also a lot of guys that sell their wife short.
- 21:27Speaker 2: I can't figure out. It's like Charlie says, I can't
- 21:29Speaker 2: figure out how to use the fancy can opener we
- 21:31Speaker 2: got at the house, you know, m But my wife can.
- 21:35Speaker 2: My eighteen year old daughter can run a sewing machine.
- 21:38Speaker 2: I cannot. I don't know what you know. I can't
- 21:40Speaker 2: figure that out. But so she can certainly figure out,
- 21:44Speaker 2: you know, certainly figure out a handgun. And I did
- 21:47Speaker 2: went through this exercise less than a year ago with
- 21:49Speaker 2: my eighteen year old daughter that's away at college. And
- 21:52Speaker 2: I gave her the option of what she wanted to carry.
- 21:55Speaker 2: It didn't matter to me. I just wanted her to
- 21:57Speaker 2: have a gun. Because she's eighteen, she can have a gun.
- 21:59Speaker 2: She can have it in her vehicle. She she goes
- 22:03Speaker 2: to a school where she can have it in her
- 22:04Speaker 2: car out of state. So I made a point of
- 22:08Speaker 2: talking to the police chief at the school where she
- 22:10Speaker 2: goes to. Is it gonna be okay for her to
- 22:12Speaker 2: And he gave me the parameters. Yep, as long as
- 22:14Speaker 2: you keep it locked up and this, this and this
- 22:16Speaker 2: and this, and it's perfectly fine, he said. And I understand.
- 22:18Speaker 2: I'm happy, you know that she's you know, willing to
- 22:23Speaker 2: do that. So let let the person you're buying the
- 22:27Speaker 2: gun for, or getting the gun for, or helping to
- 22:29Speaker 2: choose a gun, let them pick it out and but
- 22:32Speaker 2: get some professional advice.
- 22:33Speaker 1: And but that goes back to the training. And and
- 22:36Speaker 1: look the fact that it starts at the training, and
- 22:38Speaker 1: I you know, the reality is, and this isn't meant
- 22:42Speaker 1: to be an infomercial, but the fact is, the way
- 22:44Speaker 1: Talent does its training, you'll have the opportunity and that
- 22:48Speaker 1: person would have the opportunity to sample and try different
- 22:52Speaker 1: firms with a certified instructor there yep. And that's key.
- 22:57Speaker 2: And then you're gonna have people at the gun stores
- 22:59Speaker 2: that that have some idea of what the training entails
- 23:03Speaker 2: as well, that can can point you in the right direction. Yeah.
- 23:08Speaker 1: So, friends, we've we've done the best we can to
- 23:12Speaker 1: just get you thinking about where we are now. We're
- 23:15Speaker 1: in a different places.
- 23:18Speaker 2: It's constantly evolving different world that we're living in right now.
- 23:21Speaker 2: And I hope I'm wrong, but it wouldn't surprise me
- 23:24Speaker 2: to see a coordinated effort across this country to introduce
- 23:30Speaker 2: conflict on our shores over here. It's the only way
- 23:32Speaker 2: that it's the only way that our enemies have to
- 23:36Speaker 2: attack us here. Yeah, that's it. There is no other
- 23:39Speaker 2: They don't have the technology, the weaponry, though, whatever else
- 23:42Speaker 2: to attack us here, but they can. They can cause.
- 23:45Speaker 1: Havoc and use our freedoms against us.
- 23:47Speaker 2: Absolutely they can. Thanks for the time, yes, sir, thank you.
