- 0:07[SPEAKER_00]: Jacksonville Jack Wars fans, welcome in to Duval Daily, presented by Genjag.com.
- 0:10[SPEAKER_00]: I'm Jordan Aluga, thanks so much for being here.
- 0:12[SPEAKER_00]: Tuesday, December 2nd.
- 0:15[SPEAKER_00]: And yes, we have a big, big football game here in Jacksonville, Florida this weekend.
- 0:19[SPEAKER_00]: There's a lot of injury implications with this game to some major contributors on both sides that I think to start thinking about this game, to start setting the table for this game.
- 0:32[SPEAKER_00]: you got to talk about these injuries in a big way there's more than five injuries but there's five big ones that I really wanted to touch on in this video to take a look at so really appreciate you all tuning in if you enjoy the content please like and subscribe and also check out jing jack dot com pick up some new dovall gear help support the channel look good while doing it so the jack wars host lecultz
- 0:55[SPEAKER_00]: Jack's are eight and four, culture eight and four.
- 0:57[SPEAKER_00]: Jack Wars are technically in first place in the AFC South right now, even though the two teams have a tie record, because the Jack Wars have a better record against common opponents, and games against common opponents, the Jack Wars have the better record right now.
- 1:12[SPEAKER_00]: So, that's why they have the tie record.
- 1:15[SPEAKER_00]: But,
- 1:16[SPEAKER_00]: Whoever wins this game will be a game up on the other team A and B will also hold the tiebreaker initially of head-to-head record because they haven't played each other yet.
- 1:26[SPEAKER_00]: So whoever wins this game is going to be a game up, you know, one team will be 9 and 4, one team will be 8 and 5 and also have an advantage in the tiebreaker department because they have won the head-to-head, however,
- 1:43[SPEAKER_00]: There's a late-season game between the Jags and Colts in Indy where the head-to-head tiebreaker could be kind of not important.
- 1:57[SPEAKER_00]: because of if both teams win a game.
- 2:00[SPEAKER_00]: If you end up tying, the head-to-head goes out the window.
- 2:03[SPEAKER_00]: And then you go to the division record.
- 2:05[SPEAKER_00]: And right now the Jaguars and the Colts, they have the same division record.
- 2:09[SPEAKER_00]: So then it goes to the record against common opponents.
- 2:13[SPEAKER_00]: And again, right now that's why the Jaguars have the edge, but make no mistake about it.
- 2:17[SPEAKER_00]: Winning this football game is absolutely huge for the Jaguars.
- 2:22[SPEAKER_00]: and the cults obviously.
- 2:23[SPEAKER_00]: But that's just kind of setting the table for the AFC, south race there, the Texans are also in it and they're playing the Chiefs this weekend.
- 2:32[SPEAKER_00]: So that's a huge game to watch as well.
- 2:35[SPEAKER_00]: Don't know who you'd rather have in the playoffs, the Texans are the Chiefs, but it's an interesting question.
- 2:40[SPEAKER_00]: We can tackle another day.
- 2:41[SPEAKER_00]: The five injuries that are really going to be huge in this game are
- 2:46[SPEAKER_00]: Two of them for the Colts, it seems like a virtual lock that these players are not going to play.
- 2:51[SPEAKER_00]: A DeForce Buckner will not play.
- 2:53[SPEAKER_00]: He's been in a stalwart for the Colts for years and years.
- 2:57[SPEAKER_00]: One of the big moves that they've actually made under Chris Ballard in terms of going out and making a big trade was to pursue DeForce Buckner.
- 3:07[SPEAKER_00]: And he's been there for a long time.
- 3:08[SPEAKER_00]: He's played a lot of good football for them.
- 3:11[SPEAKER_00]: And he's been out with an injury.
- 3:15[SPEAKER_00]: and he'll still be on IR when this game happens, but he's been one of the better past rushing into your defensive linemen in the NFL, while also being a really good run defender, just a balanced football player that doesn't get a lot of attention around the league, but excellent player was great for the 49ers.
- 3:34[SPEAKER_00]: He's been great for the cults.
- 3:36[SPEAKER_00]: He is up there in age now, you know, almost 32 years old, but he's still playing at a high level.
- 3:41[SPEAKER_00]: And so,
- 3:44[SPEAKER_00]: is huge.
- 3:45[SPEAKER_00]: He's been out since the week nine Pittsburgh game.
- 3:51[SPEAKER_00]: He played in that game.
- 3:52[SPEAKER_00]: I think he left that game a little bit early, but he's been out since then and won't be able to play in this game.
- 3:58[SPEAKER_00]: And so that's a huge loss for them.
- 4:03[SPEAKER_00]: And when you look at what's been happening to their team, I think part of the fact that they've lost
- 4:11[SPEAKER_00]: three of the last four games, certainly, they've placed some plates and tough opponents, but not having to force Buckner, who is arguably your best defensive player, maybe not even arguably, is a huge loss for the cults.
- 4:29[SPEAKER_00]: And then you talk about your second best defensive player, you acquired in a trade at the Deadline, Saw Scardner, he has a calf strain,
- 4:39[SPEAKER_00]: They gave up two first round picks for him.
- 4:41[SPEAKER_00]: I don't want to bury them because of the injury.
- 4:44[SPEAKER_00]: I think giving up two first round picks for a corner that's that expensive is an interesting decision.
- 4:49[SPEAKER_00]: Obviously a decision to go all in on this build which is bold, but you got to kind of respect a team trying to go all in anyways.
- 5:04[SPEAKER_00]: He has a calf strain and he's weak to weak and all reports are at this point, you know, Tuesday to December 2nd, he ain't playing this weekend.
- 5:13[SPEAKER_00]: So you have those two big injuries to the cults on the defensive side of the ball.
- 5:18[SPEAKER_00]: I think pretty easily there are two best defensive players.
- 5:23[SPEAKER_00]: They've got some other good guys out there as well.
- 5:25[SPEAKER_00]: I mean, it's not like they're a bunch of slouches without those guys, but those are
- 5:35[SPEAKER_00]: and these tough, divisional games that will not be there.
- 5:40[SPEAKER_00]: And then you look at Daniel Jones has a fractured fibula.
- 5:45[SPEAKER_00]: And he can't really run around and move the way he's used to moving.
- 5:49[SPEAKER_00]: And I know he can kind of get people dunk on him and make fun of him and all that stuff.
- 5:53[SPEAKER_00]: But he has the very least throughout his career been a very athletic, impactful runner at the quarterback position.
- 6:03[SPEAKER_00]: Somebody who can move around and make plays with his legs, scramble around, do different things.
- 6:07[SPEAKER_00]: He'd been really good for the colds this year.
- 6:09[SPEAKER_00]: For his injury, he hasn't been able to be as effective because he just can't move the same way.
- 6:16[SPEAKER_00]: You saw him much more stationary the last couple weeks dealing with this injury.
- 6:20[SPEAKER_00]: And so that's a huge development as well because he and his impact to not only
- 6:30[SPEAKER_00]: His ability to not only use his legs as a runner, but to also evade pressure, move around the pocket, escape the pocket, really drive on some different things, throws that are kind of like, he really needs to have his base now.
- 6:45[SPEAKER_00]: I don't think he can get everything into it.
- 6:47[SPEAKER_00]: So Daniel Jones, not being the same player either that he was just a few weeks ago from a health standpoint.
- 6:55[SPEAKER_00]: Those are huge injuries.
- 6:58[SPEAKER_00]: On the defensive side of the ball for the Jack Wars, Eric Armstrong's dead miss this past week, and he's a critical player.
- 7:05[SPEAKER_00]: It's funny like Defors, Buckner, and Eric Armstrong's dead both found their way from San Francisco Oregon, and then to San Francisco, both of them.
- 7:18[SPEAKER_00]: to the F.C.
- 7:18[SPEAKER_00]: South, Buckner obviously has been with the Colts for a while, Armstrong stood with his second year in Jacksonville, and now these guys are opponents.
- 7:30[SPEAKER_00]: Chance, neither of them were playing this game, and Eric Armstrong stood, he's not a force Buckner, but he's a really good player and a important player for the Jaguars, both as a run defense unit and a penetration style player who can affect the quarterback as well.
- 7:49[SPEAKER_00]: Not good for the Jaguars.
- 7:51[SPEAKER_00]: Also not having Trayvon Walker and look, Eric Armstrong said he might be available for this game.
- 7:55[SPEAKER_00]: We don't know yet.
- 7:56[SPEAKER_00]: He had a hand injury.
- 7:57[SPEAKER_00]: He suffered last week during the week.
- 8:01[SPEAKER_00]: Is he gonna be ready to go?
- 8:02[SPEAKER_00]: The only thing we've heard from Liam Cohen so far is that he's hopeful.
- 8:06[SPEAKER_00]: which doesn't mean a whole lot.
- 8:08[SPEAKER_00]: And then you talk about Trayvall Walker, who's missed the last couple games with a knee injury, he had missed some time, not a whole lot of time, but a little bit of time with a wrist injury, before that, and he'd been battling through, and he'd starting to play better.
- 8:21[SPEAKER_00]: And then the knee injury pops up, so it's a tough deal with those injuries up front for the Jaguars two out of your three best defensive linemen.
- 8:32[SPEAKER_00]: Obviously Josh Heinz Allen being the best defensive lineman in Jacksonville, fortunately for them.
- 8:37[SPEAKER_00]: He is healthy, he is playing extremely well, and he's hunting up match ups right now, as the Jaguars like to say.
- 8:42[SPEAKER_00]: So difficult situation for both teams.
- 8:46[SPEAKER_00]: You also have the question, another injury that I think is probably pretty big.
- 8:51[SPEAKER_00]: The Parker Washington question is his hip injury.
- 8:54[SPEAKER_00]: going to cause him to miss more time, he left the game against the, um, against the Titans on Sunday.
- 8:59[SPEAKER_00]: Is that hip injury going to cause him to miss more time?
- 9:02[SPEAKER_00]: We don't know.
- 9:03[SPEAKER_00]: We won't find out more until the injury report comes out on Wednesday about Armstead, about Walker, about Washington and if they're limited, if they're practicing at all, we just won't know until probably
- 9:16[SPEAKER_00]: we get more info unless there's some sort of roster move that the jack was need to make with any of these players like placing them on injured reserve which would be really unfortunate at this point in the season and you hope that that's not the case and there's no indication yet that that is the case but it does remain a possibility you would think potentially Parker would be the one that you're most worried about but waving Austin tram will yesterday.
- 9:39[SPEAKER_00]: would seem to suggest you're not that worried about Parker although there could be a subsequent outside move coming you don't know when it comes to waving Austin trample.
- 9:49[SPEAKER_00]: Pretty big name receiver is a waver wire ad for someone potentially this afternoon.
- 9:58[SPEAKER_00]: We'll be taking a look at that for sure we're at them Theland lands but yeah.
- 10:03[SPEAKER_00]: To say that injuries are going to have a massive impact on this game and it might even be understating.
- 10:09[SPEAKER_00]: Like when you don't have your best defensive linemen for the cults and your best corner and no longer have that mobility with your quarterback, those are three huge developments.
- 10:24[SPEAKER_00]: Jag wars, not having two or three best defensive linemen potentially, we'll see.
- 10:29[SPEAKER_00]: And then you don't know about Parker Washington either, and he's such an impact on two phases of the game, special teams and offense.
- 10:38[SPEAKER_00]: For the cults, it seems like things are kind of the way they are.
- 10:44[SPEAKER_00]: You're not going to have those guys, and Daniel Jones is not going to magically be mobile again over the course of this week, and all likelihood, for the Jack Wars a lot more up in there.
- 10:54[SPEAKER_00]: Well monitor this, but I feel like that was the place to kind of set the table for this matchup because it's a huge matchup for the AFC South, for the AFC South race, and for the AFC playoff race in general, and it's just a shame that you don't get to see full strength potentially on either side.
- 11:19[SPEAKER_00]: Let me know what y'all think in the comment section below.
