- 0:18I'm Jessica and I'm Rica and this is a TC present-day, Bucky
- 0:21Rambles. We're a couple of friends review
- 0:23Korean dramas. Except I've been watching
- 0:25kdramas since 2012 and Rico has pretty much just started his
- 0:29journey. Any, what what drama is this?
- 0:31This is number 7, E7 total in your life.
- 0:37Wow. So Rico, how are you doing?
- 0:39I'm doing well, this, we are getting into a lot of shows
- 0:45recently at least that the episodes feel longer and longer.
- 0:49Yes. And that's because they are
- 0:51longer and longer they are longer.
- 0:53We are not trapped by the 45 minute or hour mark anymore.
- 0:57We keep going longer with the episodes.
- 1:00And I do have to thank all of our followers on Instagram,
- 1:03because this was a heavy Contender when I put out the

- 2:19What did I say? Did I just say Dave Burkhardt?
- 2:21You said always the critic daebak course.
- 2:23Oh, I'm so sorry. I meant to say TC day, bod pod.
- 2:28It once again only fine at At ATC daebak pot.
- 2:32That is what I say. Alright so yeah, today we're
- 2:35going to be reviewing Hospital playlist, which is a 20/20 show,
- 2:39Rico V, Asian Wiki synopsis please.
- 2:42It is blessedly short today. Yes it is.
- 2:45So Hospital playlist, depicts the stories of doctors, nurses
- 2:49and patients at a hospital. Five doctors all entered the
- 2:53same Medical University in 1999. They are now friends and work
- 2:57together in the same hospital that is Three.
- 3:00Very short short. Yeah.
- 3:04Do you have a problem with? No, I do not have bright.
- 3:07I thought usually they've been long differently episodes that
- 3:10we've reviewed so far. So Hospital playlist originally
- 3:13aired from March to May 2020. It is a grand total of 12
- 3:17episodes long, but each episode is about an hour and a half.
- 3:21Each, it is directed by Shin won-ho.
- 3:24He directed all of the replies Series.
- 3:27So if you don't know already, The reply or answer me series
- 3:32very popular. It's basically an anthology
- 3:34series, each reply, show covers a different year.
- 3:39And a new set of cast members, a totally new ensemble cast, he
- 3:44directed 97. Sorry, I'll say the whole show
- 3:47named reply 1997, reply 1994 and reply 1988 and reply, 1988 is
- 3:54the only one I have not watched. Okay, yes, prison.
- 3:59Playbook is Something he directed and that's on Netflix.
- 4:02If you want to catch it, Hospital playlist was written by
- 4:05E will see woojong. And she also wrote all of the
- 4:09replies series there. Yeah.
- 4:11So frequent collaborators this director and this writer and
- 4:16let's get into our Squad. Yes, yes.
- 4:22So it's Stars, Cho jungseok as Lee.
- 4:27Egg junhee, is the general surgeon / liver.
- 4:29A specialist, he has been in a whole host of movies and TV.
- 4:34I've seen him in oh, My Ghost and the King two hearts.
- 4:38And then, of course, I feel like he's most famous for, oh my
- 4:41gosh. And you are the best Isa machine
- 4:44from 2013. He was also an architecture 101
- 4:47which is a really big movie with a lot of cast members.
- 4:51That was almost like a Love. Actually New Year's Day that
- 4:57type of thing. Like all of the cast members
- 4:59were pretty Heavy Hitters Hospital playlist.
- 5:02Also Stars, you yong-seok as on Jung hwan.
- 5:06He is a pediatric surgeon AKA Andreas.
- 5:09The Devout Catholic, he has been in a bunch of movies.
- 5:14I most recently saw him in mood of the day.
- 5:17He's also in the beauty inside from 2015, the Royal Tailor,
- 5:20where he plays the king, he was also in waii a monster boy, a
- 5:25werewolf boy and I have to pause there because werewolf boys.
- 5:30Of my favorite Korean movies. And to be quite honest, like,
- 5:33the his portrayal of essentially, the villain in that
- 5:36movie is so like, it just wrecked me so hard.
- 5:41That every time I see him in a drama.
- 5:43Now, I'm almost like, oh my God, I see the villain because he was
- 5:47so evil in werewolf, boy, just awful.
- 5:51He's also done a lot of TV like mr.
- 5:53Sunshine, dr. Romantic, which is another
- 5:56hospital show reply, 1994. So he is a frequent collaborator
- 6:02with the director and writer already because he was in the 94
- 6:05reply 1994 and then he's also been in Gu Family Book from 2013
- 6:09which is a fantasy drama. The hospital playlist also Stars
- 6:14Jung. Hyung Joong ho as Kim jinhwan.
- 6:17He is the cardiologist or the cardio surgeon.
- 6:20He's been in prison. Playbook missing.
- 6:22Nine beating again, were ironically he undergoes a heart
- 6:26transplant surgery and his personality changes I saw.
- 6:30That I remember seeing that show, it's not bad but the fact
- 6:33that he's a cardiologist, a cardio surgeon now and this of
- 6:36like they had to do that. And then he's also in heartless
- 6:39city, which is where I first saw him.
- 6:42That is the Noir show that I was talking to you about like the
- 6:46crime Noir, right? Just so good in that really good
- 6:51Kingdom. Young stars as young Suk.
- 6:53Hyung the obstetrician and then John me do stars as chasing want
- 6:59the / Surgeon. General Sergeant.
- 7:03So Rico now that we have our Squad down, all of the director
- 7:08and writer history. What did you think of Hospital
- 7:11playlist? So this show is filmed.
- 7:17Incredibly like, it looks like a movie each episode like the way
- 7:21it is film. I think that the cast has a
- 7:26great chemistry among them, you really Really get a sense of
- 7:31like they feel like they are friends and that they've been
- 7:35friends for a long time which that's what the show portrays.
- 7:40I probably should have said this.
- 7:42Oh God for like we got into this but I don't like hospital,
- 7:48dramas. Oh my God, me, neither me
- 7:51neither. I have not watched a single
- 7:52episode of Grey's Anatomy. I've never watched your scrubs,
- 7:56nothing. It's just not my bag, and I
- 7:59think, This to one of our followers or some of that I
- 8:02follow on Instagram through the ATC, debug pod.
- 8:06It's not my, my cup of tea. I don't like hospital dramas and
- 8:10I've watched a fair share and it's just, I'm always like
- 8:13hesitant to return to them. Hesitant to get to a new one,
- 8:16which is why I never watch Hospital weightless until now.
- 8:20But in the grand scheme of things and in your own
- 8:23experience of hospital, dramas like what how did this stack up?
- 8:27I think for the most part it It's stacked up pretty much
- 8:32similar to those, which honestly is not really a good thing
- 8:38because I don't enjoy watching any of the medical stuff.
- 8:43So a lot of the times when they're dealing with patients
- 8:47I'm kind of almost checked out same.
- 8:49I like I think I don't really like the whole basically like
- 8:54new medical procedure of the week, type of thing, didn't
- 8:58interest me, you know? So That I was having a hard time
- 9:02dealing with that part of the show since it's so big on the
- 9:05show, they're all doctors in some capacity.
- 9:08So I had to find a way to enjoy other aspects of the show
- 9:16without the medical part. But man, it's difficult when
- 9:18it's everything surrounds, the medical thing.
- 9:21So, and then on top of that, the other thing is that they're a
- 9:28band. On the side correct?
- 9:32Which every time they went to it, although there's a song
- 9:35that's pretty catchy. I'll get the name to it in just
- 9:38a second but for the most part I found it so just like it felt
- 9:44random just like, okay, we need to fill in time.
- 9:48It felt a little shoehorned in there like and then like almost
- 9:52every not every episode but almost every episode that has
- 9:55them playing a song. So it kind of feels like, you
- 9:59know how Okay, you know how those Nickelodeon or Disney
- 10:03chose would have liked the main star would sing, almost kind of
- 10:09like a Hannah Montana in a way where they would shoehorn a
- 10:12performance sometime during the episode, right?
- 10:15It kind of felt that way so like they would rehearse but it was
- 10:20really just a performance at you.
- 10:21I feel you completely on that. So overall I didn't really feel
- 10:28the show. So I'm going to come in and say
- 10:32that, I completely agree with your assessment of the medical,
- 10:37the strong medical portions of the show where they're dealing
- 10:40with patients and diagnosing and all that.
- 10:45All that stuff just doesn't doesn't connect with me.
- 10:48I don't like it. I feel like it's kind of above
- 10:52my like intellect. Almost like I would think it's
- 10:57more along the line. Yeah, it's about actually.
- 11:00Cheering. Yeah.
- 11:02So I don't know maybe I'm a bad empathizer but you know some of
- 11:07them really worked for me. Some of them didn't some of
- 11:11those storylines. I mean, but overall I'm just so
- 11:14disinterested in hospital stuff and usually like, I have to say
- 11:20the positive is that this show doesn't have like Hospital
- 11:23politics where oh that's another thing.
- 11:26There's like a whole like back and who's going to Run the
- 11:30hospital who's going to take over a position, blah, blah,
- 11:33blah. Like just all this embezzlement
- 11:36of funds all this stuff. Usually goes hand in hand with a
- 11:38kdrama based on a medical situation or at a hospital and
- 11:44they didn't go that route at all.
- 11:45They based it on the strength of this group of this crew, that
- 11:51friendship that you talked about.
- 11:52At the beginning, is so essential to the success of the
- 11:55show. That without it.
- 11:56Like, it would just be like D.o.a., it would just be awful.
- 12:02Exactly. So I really appreciated how
- 12:05organic and lovely their friendship was like, all this
- 12:09whole crew of five is just really compelling to watch.
- 12:14I felt like them being silly with each other and like popping
- 12:18into each other's offices and eating meals together and their
- 12:22own personal. Dramas.
- 12:23Was way more of what I wanted to see in the Show versus them
- 12:29dealing. With their daily jobs as
- 12:33surgeons, right? Because at the end of the day,
- 12:37when you're watching, like one of these procedurals that deals
- 12:40with people, you're there for the interpersonal, you know,
- 12:45drama or conflict or relationships, instead of the
- 12:51actual procedures or the medical side, because that's just a set
- 12:56dressing for the story. I'm in reality but at the same
- 13:02time because something like that takes up so much.
- 13:06It's kind of hard to invest yourself into everything that
- 13:10happens because you don't want to have to deal with the medical
- 13:15but you kind of have to in order to see the relationships
- 13:18progress between the characters. Yes.
- 13:22And that was rather annoying to me that they kept relying on
- 13:26that to fuel the rest of the show.
- 13:29And not that it was wrong but not that I liked it.
- 13:35So, it's hard, it's hard. When you get a show like this,
- 13:38when you have a great ensemble cast, all of these people except
- 13:42for like two of them, you've seen before.
- 13:44I've seen before in other dramas, other movies.
- 13:47And, you know, they're all older actors, which is really nice to,
- 13:51to get some play from, you know, experienced actors.
- 13:55And I think that the other thing that we kind of missed out on
- 13:58was that The music was all callbacks to early 2000s, and
- 14:02late 90s music in Korea, and we just don't have that background
- 14:07at all. None of these songs mean
- 14:09anything to us. We don't know the songs.
- 14:12And so when they bust out at the end of an episode with another
- 14:16playlist song, it just has no meaning for us.
- 14:19There's no Nostalgia attached to it.
- 14:21Like, if we had grown up in Korea and knew about all these
- 14:24songs, if they had busted out in some Britney Spears and saying,
- 14:28Boys to Men, like I They're 100% and be like wow this kind of
- 14:32elevated the episode or while they're really doing a great
- 14:35cover of it but we don't have that background in the music
- 14:39scene of the 2000s and 90s in Korea to kind of play some
- 14:44importance on those songs. And the OST for this, the OST F
- 14:49felt like was forgettable because of that there was no,
- 14:53that was not a touch point for us.
- 14:55So even though some of these songs made the Arts.
- 14:59When they were going when this was airing and they had to do
- 15:04like a whole live stream of the actors, doing this up, playing
- 15:08the songs and stuff. I appreciate the fact that the
- 15:12actors learned how to play their instruments for the show, they
- 15:15did. I saw that that was a huge
- 15:17positive for me because you could tell that they were
- 15:19actually playing and actually singing that was great.
- 15:22But as far as the songs themselves, what have you none
- 15:26of that connected with me? No, so that that does not lead
- 15:32us to a good starting point I about talking about this show.
- 15:38No, I will say that you were talking about, the episodes are
- 15:42getting longer than the more. We do Debbie, Buck, show
- 15:45reviews, and in this case, the show was always meant to be
- 15:50twelve episodes, and the first season was just that, it was
- 15:55going. The producers always intended it
- 15:57for have to show for it. More than one season mmm-hmm.
- 16:00Which now there is a season 2 and the whole internet is up in
- 16:03arms because season two is out. People are reacting.
- 16:07They're watching it. They're enjoying it.
- 16:09They love these characters and I can't blame them neck.
- 16:11I love these characters to in so much as I don't want to see them
- 16:16dealing with patients. If there was a difference awful
- 16:22backdrop of you know just yeah something different, they rarely
- 16:28leave. Leave the hospital as a setting
- 16:30right there. Always in the hospital.
- 16:32Well for the most part for the most, there's they're in the
- 16:35most episodes, they're just there the entire dies but all
- 16:38drinking and which again it's a hospital drama.
- 16:42So like I get it, I get it, it's a hospital drama but yeah, they
- 16:48that kind of turned me off. A lot of times that I'm watching
- 16:51because I don't want to deal with this Hobbit Hospital stuff
- 16:56so they know I feel really bad Because I feel completely the
- 17:00same way and I almost didn't want to do a hospital drama.
- 17:03It is. I would say like a genre and
- 17:05kdrama to have like some sort of hospital drama and I was
- 17:09strictly kind of trying to avoid it for the first season of
- 17:13debauch because I don't I don't like it.
- 17:15I dislike it to the max and I felt like descendants of the sun
- 17:19kind of filled that void a little bit because of the
- 17:21medical stuff that happens in that show.
- 17:24She's a doctor all that stuff, but at the end of the day like
- 17:27that's probably why I like Descendants of the sun is
- 17:29because it does not fall into the same, you know, tedious
- 17:36rhythm of a hospital drama right now exactly.
- 17:41So, I feel really bad and saying all this, however, I really
- 17:44enjoyed all of the cameos. I'm sure that you didn't quite
- 17:49get any of of cameos, Rico. No, I didn't get any of them
- 17:53because like, people would just show.
- 17:55That's another thing can, if I could just say this real quick.
- 17:58Yeah, and this is something that I've seen that kind of plagues
- 18:04Korean dramas. And is that people start showing
- 18:07up later on in the show. And it's like, Who is this
- 18:11person now? And it's kind of hard to like
- 18:14follow it because usually with a traditional show, I've said this
- 18:18before, but with a traditional show you'll have your main
- 18:22players show up in the first two episodes of a show.
- 18:25And then sure there's guest appearances here.
- 18:29And there's what, what I'm referring to.
- 18:31Yeah, I guess appears to, I just wanted to like, kind of say that
- 18:35because I noticed it maybe not so much in this show.
- 18:37But in other Korean dramas where like characters It's like show
- 18:41up halfway through the show and it's like, who is this guy now?
- 18:44Oh, he's going to be an integral part.
- 18:46Oh, great. Like another person that people
- 18:48that feel that complained a lot and I understand it.
- 18:53However, I'm used to it as well. It doesn't really take me back.
- 18:57Like, oh my gosh, who's this? Dude, I'm always like, yeah.
- 19:01Like, I just kind of give you the benefit of the doubt, but
- 19:04for the cameos in this show, they had guara.
- 19:08She plays it June's. Friend and episodes 5 & 6.
- 19:13She was the female lead in reply 1994, okay?
- 19:17And she's like a household name as well.
- 19:20Got it. So we also have Kim sunkyung and
- 19:24sung dong-il. They Star as the priests /
- 19:27Brothers for the Pediatric surgeon Andreas.
- 19:31Yeah. So we only see them in the, the
- 19:33first episode, I like one other episode but they're both in the
- 19:37reply 1988 and 1994. I would get like frequent
- 19:42collaborators is almost like a Scorsese movie, right?
- 19:45Just showing up randomly, exactly.
- 19:48And then we also had Kim Sun Yong and Troy Moody's song in
- 19:52episode 7. They play a patient of if Joan
- 19:54as well and they're both from reply 19, 1988 actually
- 19:59reprising their roles from that drama.
- 20:02What is this a crossover episode?
- 20:05That's exactly what they did for all of my mr.
- 20:08Peanut butter fans from Horseman.
- 20:12I don't watch book tacos, Horseman.
- 20:15Yeah. That's one of his favorite
- 20:16phrases is like when him and Bojack show up in a place
- 20:20because they were on two different shows.
- 20:22He'd be like, what is this? A crossover episode?
- 20:27I'm gonna take that. I'm going to use that.
- 20:29It's fantastic. And we just saw Kim Sun Yong as
- 20:32one of the North Korean regime has and crash.
- 20:34Yeah, we did. Yeah, she's everywhere.
- 20:36She's a she's ever. What would you give this drama
- 20:39out of five Soju bottles Rico. So people don't hate me.
- 20:47Two and a half, shut up to a set of five.
- 20:51It is no, no, you did not give it two and a half Stars.
- 20:55I mean, Soju, bottles two-and-a-half Soju bottles.
- 21:01I gave it three before we started talking, it would have
- 21:06been three and a half but now it's three oof.
- 21:09Do you feel like it's perfectly middling?
- 21:11Average can possibly re-watch it at in 10 years, kind of deal.
- 21:16Oh no, there's no way. You could get me to watch this
- 21:18again. So we'll talk about spoilers and
- 21:24things that we liked or disliked in more detail.
- 21:28After this, you want to come, here we go.
- 21:37I'm embarrassed about your score.
- 21:38But tell me what were the best parts of the show for you.
- 21:42Did you have certain characters that you were like any time they
- 21:44were on screen? I was there.
- 21:45I was all in so I liked, hold on.
- 21:51I got to get the names right? Because this is yeah, this was
- 21:53my problem. There were two characters that
- 21:56had similar sounding names and it was throwing me off for a
- 22:00bit, but I got it though, so I really enjoyed Lee Jun.
- 22:07He was the liver specialist which that was funny.
- 22:10That like liver kept coming up so many times so many different
- 22:14operations. Like, oh, he's gonna need a
- 22:16liver or she's liver transplant transplant.
- 22:19Like how many levers Are there out there that people need
- 22:22obviously lat. So I felt like he had like a
- 22:26really good presence about him in the show that you can really
- 22:29gravitate towards. I did like that.
- 22:34He didn't really make his feelings known until pretty much
- 22:36the very end to that's part of the Cliffhanger.
- 22:39That's part of the Cliffhanger, you know.
- 22:41Like you can you can respond to me later on.
- 22:45Yeah. It's so I did like his presence.
- 22:48I did like also, What's his name?
- 22:53Let me see if I get it. He's the one dating.
- 22:57Yes it soon. Yes.
- 22:59Yes. Jalan Jalan Jalan.
- 23:02I did like Joann. Yeah I thought the cardio.
- 23:05Yeah. He's the cardio surgeon exactly.
- 23:08See this is this was my problem. So there's June 1 and then
- 23:12there's Jung hwan Young one is, the pedia is the Pediatrics,
- 23:17right? So like their names are so
- 23:18similar that I was having a hard time at least to me, they're
- 23:22similar. So I apologize if you know
- 23:25that's you know probably sounds like culturally insensitive like
- 23:29oh these two name sounds so similar know.
- 23:31I have to agree with you that you know, episode 1.
- 23:34They kind of throw you in at the deep end.
- 23:36Like here's this cast of characters and you don't know
- 23:39what they do. We're not going to introduce it
- 23:41gradually like here's everything all at once.
- 23:43Just figure it out. Sink or swim and it's really
- 23:47hard. Like, I didn't have any of,
- 23:48their names memorized by the end, except for, like, maybe I'm
- 23:50dries because they call them Andreas, right?
- 23:53That's a guess that's his English name is a Catholic so I
- 23:56ended up just kind of calling them or remembering them by what
- 24:00they did. So all like I was the Nero girl.
- 24:02Oh it's a cardio guy. Oh it's a pediatric.
- 24:04I so sad about have it. No.
- 24:07And if you want to like just go ahead and start that as we're
- 24:10talking through these spoiler section, feel free to like not
- 24:14you. Surnames that you don't have to
- 24:15like keep scrolling through and like finding their name, their
- 24:17character names. It's a lot easier for me
- 24:20personally to be like, oh yeah, so the cardio guy or the
- 24:23obstetrician said blah blah blah.
- 24:25Like that is way easier for me than remembering yong-seok
- 24:29young. Like that changing one, that's
- 24:33it. Yeah, and I'm sure it's easier
- 24:35for listeners as well who might be a little bit more removed
- 24:38from hospital playlist. Don't remember all the names,
- 24:41it's like five people not to mention all All the, all the,
- 24:45all the side characters. Yeah.
- 24:47It's a huge cast, a huge gas. So I know you're going to ask me
- 24:53about The Love Story. Which one which one, indeed.
- 25:01Which one did you like the most? Okay, so this is, this is a good
- 25:05question because I guess if I had to say one of them, I would
- 25:13probably say probably the it soon and the cardio guy.
- 25:23The cardio. Yeah.
- 25:25Just because they show them the most actually trying to engage
- 25:28in a relationship. Yes the other ones are like will
- 25:32they won't they you know for the most part so like you have the
- 25:38liver specialist who is secretly in love with With the Our Lady,
- 25:44the neural lady the neurosurgeon so and, you know, he doesn't
- 25:48confess his love until the very end so like that kind of doesn't
- 25:51count and then on but I think it does.
- 25:55Yeah. It wasn't enough for me.
- 25:56I'll tell you that much right now.
- 25:58Okay. And then the other, I guess kind
- 26:01of love. Story is the one between the
- 26:03Pediatric surgeon, who is The Devout Catholic and I can't
- 26:09remember her name. She's oh, I'll bring it up, hold
- 26:11on. Phone me on are on me Yahoo.
- 26:17Oh wow, I was thank you. Oh, name of that character.
- 26:21You're right. That I was thinking of something
- 26:23someone completely different than but not.
- 26:25Okay. So the resident the resident
- 26:27apartment so she's the resident surgery Department.
- 26:29There we go. Only resident of the general
- 26:31surgery Department perfect. So I can call her at the
- 26:33resident. Yeah and so I thought there's
- 26:37was also like a, you know, like basically a will they won't they
- 26:42Until you know, at the end, you know.
- 26:44So I don't really count too much of that either because we don't
- 26:49get a satisfaction. Here's the biggest thing about
- 26:52this is that the show is running past the season which is not
- 26:57something. I know you're used to know, but
- 27:00it's something that I get accustomed to but usually, when
- 27:04there is a love story, that is like, will they won't they they
- 27:09will do by the end of Season 1 and tease out.
- 27:14Something that's going to happen for season 2.
- 27:16So at least with both of those love stories, they do a good
- 27:22teas at the end of season one. So you have the now now, but the
- 27:30liver specialist who like claims his love and is like answering
- 27:34me when you're ready. Yeah, you know, that's a good
- 27:36tease for season 2 and then on the other side we get the kiss.
- 27:42Of hit. Well first he decides to stay
- 27:45and then there's the kiss. Yeah.
- 27:47So you know a good tease was like, oh is this going to be a
- 27:50relationship in season two? You know, like are they going to
- 27:53be a couple so stuff like that. Like it's good for the end but
- 27:59in terms of the story for just one season, I don't think either
- 28:02one kind of like I think the cardio guy definitely had the
- 28:05most well-rounded relationship with his lady that is it, June's
- 28:11sister. Right?
- 28:12I think you remember that name. It's it gun.
- 28:16Exon it soon. Yeah it's the only one that like
- 28:19I remember like really remembers mean that's good but yeah, he's
- 28:24him shooting a shot with the sister at the military base.
- 28:28He comes up. He's like I came to eat.
- 28:29Jajangmyeon you're just like, oh my God, like this is what we
- 28:34mean by. Like, do you want to come to eat
- 28:37ramen at my place? Like, it's kind of has the same
- 28:39Vibe where it's like very suggestive.
- 28:42Suggestive, he's definitely not just going to get judge on young
- 28:46black bean noodles. No, it's not that simple.
- 28:49Yeah, he drove all the way out there, like you're just like
- 28:52rooting for him, the whole time to make it with this girl.
- 28:55And I love when he goes over to surprise her at the house, at it
- 29:01goons house. Mmm, and she kicks in the face
- 29:04to face. That is so not the point.
- 29:11Yeah, they did kick. The multiple angle kick its fin
- 29:14falls down slowly stunned, his glasses fly off.
- 29:18Like I love that moment because he's like them, it's more like a
- 29:21shock to him. He's not like really injury.
- 29:24He's just like shocked that she kicked them.
- 29:26It happened. Yeah, I like these like sliding
- 29:28slowly down the wall. So yeah that that was shocking.
- 29:33But II appreciate that relationship even though like
- 29:37Doesn't really. Well, we're in spoilers.
- 29:40It doesn't really end on that much of a happy note.
- 29:44Yeah, this is one of those things where I feel like they're
- 29:46going to resolve it rather quickly and season to you.
- 29:48Like if I'm predicting stuff that's going to happen in season
- 29:52two, is that it isn't exactly as negative as we perceive it with
- 29:57the Return to Sender of the engagement ring, right?
- 30:01I really think it's like an honest mistake, some sort of
- 30:03miscommunication. Misunderstanding, maybe she's on
- 30:06her way back. She received it.
- 30:08Mmm, maybe she has it on. Took it out of the box or what
- 30:12have you? Or maybe she sent it back to
- 30:13him. She's like, I want you to put it
- 30:15on me. Like something to that effect is
- 30:18going to happen where it's a little more positive.
- 30:20And the main deal with their relationship is, how are they
- 30:24going to tell liver specialist? It June that they've been dating
- 30:29all this time and they're ready to get married and that he had
- 30:33no idea that kept it from him. I feel like that's a bigger
- 30:37that's drama right there. That's drama like I can't wait.
- 30:42They set themselves up for It's season 2, like with those
- 30:46things. Those things are good setup for
- 30:49season two, for sure. I felt like they had really good
- 30:52chemistry as well between them like she when she forgot her
- 30:55phone and he brought it to her at the station and she does that
- 30:58like bird gimmick again and she makes him laugh and she gives
- 31:04him like this. Try his favorite chocolate and
- 31:07it's as cute moment where she keeps pouring too much chocolate
- 31:10into his hand and he's they just keep cutting back and they show
- 31:13his Face. And he's so amused and kind of
- 31:15enamored with her and then suddenly he like takes both
- 31:18chocolate because she's like, okay, you get one and I get one.
- 31:21He's like, do I get both and then holds her hand.
- 31:24Grabs her hand and he's like, have I told you that?
- 31:26I like, you go out with me. I just started screaming right
- 31:29then and there because the moment was so abrupt, I feel
- 31:32like a lot of these really crucial moments between
- 31:35characters were like boom, they happen and you're not prepared
- 31:38for them. That is just like that.
- 31:41I like that about the show is that it's constantly kind of
- 31:44trying to shock you. You get all this like medical
- 31:47mumbo jumbo. I got to come early, oh, I gotta
- 31:49stay late. I can t, I have the surgery, all
- 31:51this patient and then you get moments like this sandwich
- 31:55between all that and you're just, like, living for this
- 31:58drama that doesn't exist within the hospital.
- 32:01Yeah, I, I will say that. That's something that I did it.
- 32:05Appreciate. And usually, you'll find this in
- 32:08a show, like, this is because things Been so fast things kind
- 32:12of are like, you have to keep your head on a swivel in this
- 32:15world that they live in. So everything like they don't
- 32:19have time to, you know, lollygag around like they want to get to
- 32:23the point like this is. This is my intentions.
- 32:28Yeah, I like that. It's like they're older.
- 32:30So they had, they're not playing these little games know.
- 32:34They're just like, hey, I like you, like let's date.
- 32:37Yeah. Very simple.
- 32:38Very simple that straight up. I like the romance in this show,
- 32:42where it's just like, I don't have anything to lose.
- 32:45And, you know, I've been through the whole dating game and I have
- 32:49a kid or I'm divorced like they have no, there's no like
- 32:54pretense of Innocence about it, right?
- 32:57Exactly is nice. I like that.
- 32:59I like that a lot. Let's talk about the other
- 33:02romance between the Pediatric. Urgent, Andreas and the resident
- 33:07and the resident. Did you think that he liked her?
- 33:14Kind of really and like a little bit not like to the point of
- 33:19like let's start something for real.
- 33:22For real. Honestly, this is this is just
- 33:26my thinking, at the end the the kiss between the two of them.
- 33:31Hmm. Kind of feels like a Pity kiss.
- 33:38No, it's not all like, okay, so she doesn't really kiss back,
- 33:46right? Okay.
- 33:47But that's because he kind of like catches her a little bit by
- 33:51surprise mean in kdramas, where one person's doing all the lip
- 33:55work and the other person's just like, fish out of water.
- 33:58Like dead, just dead, just like dead lips.
- 34:02He's doing We work and she's just like they're just like
- 34:05nope, not just accepting the kids, but not reciprocate, not
- 34:08reciprocating at all night is definitely a western thinking
- 34:13when it comes to kdramas and that's exactly what I mean by
- 34:18some kdramas have great kissing and you don't think anything of
- 34:20it because you come from this Western perspective and you're
- 34:22not used to kdramas and then you have this where it's like, wow,
- 34:26he's going really Ham on her face and she's just like, I'm
- 34:31ready. But none of this This kissing
- 34:34back or she's like accepting it in any overt way.
- 34:38She's just like standing there like a piece of cardboard that
- 34:41is Kdrama and his eyes. He's shaking his head right now
- 34:47and it's not good. Obviously shows nowadays are
- 34:52fixing this problem. Not that hospital playlist did
- 34:56write this couple who knows? Like maybe season 2, they kind
- 35:01of loosen up and they have more interactions with each other
- 35:04more skin shit that isn't so cringe-worthy but but it could
- 35:07be that her character is kind of awkward and kind of like
- 35:11reserved as well. Well, is that her character has
- 35:15spent all this time crushing on him like I don't know.
- 35:18When's the last time you had a crush but I kind of really
- 35:21empathize with her and sympathize with her more like in
- 35:25her situation where she's got like this crush on someone who's
- 35:28older, someone who's more experienced in the job,
- 35:31essentially, someone who is in a position of power who she's
- 35:34looking up to a mentor. And she's so painfully awkward
- 35:40and it doesn't know how to express her feelings.
- 35:43She Grasping at straws, grasping at information about him.
- 35:47And then finally she comes, this is the moment she actually
- 35:50confesses her feelings, right? She's like, I like you and
- 35:54please don't go become a priest priest, which is a huge deal,
- 36:02like it's not just, I like you. It's I like you and please don't
- 36:07do what? Change your life change your
- 36:09life? It's a huge deal.
- 36:11So for her to do that, At and at the behest of his mom as well,
- 36:16which is another like added pressure that the mom is like,
- 36:19you're my last Stitch hope for my son, not too big of a breeze.
- 36:24It I just feel the desperation of that moment and like, all of
- 36:27these feelings the way she's just, like, almost bracing
- 36:30herself for the no. Right?
- 36:34Because she's probably doesn't feel like he's gonna
- 36:37reciprocate. There's never been a moment
- 36:40where she's like, oh yeah, he likes me back.
- 36:43You know, there wasn't that. Oh, he came to see me in the
- 36:46hospital when they had that severe allergic reaction and
- 36:48could have died. Like he's pretty much not
- 36:52letting on that he has feelings for her.
- 36:54Now, it does support the general.
- 36:57He's happy when he's around her as he seems very loose when he's
- 37:00around her towards the end of the show, and the mom picks up
- 37:03on his feelings, very easily. It's like, very she's perceptive
- 37:08about that, because she's seen the opposite, basically his
- 37:10whole life, right? So that final moment where he
- 37:15kisses her like I completely kind of understand why she's
- 37:18like not kissing back. Because it's also our first
- 37:23kiss. Actually it's also her first
- 37:25kiss. Oh God it is because earlier she
- 37:27said that she'd never been kissed.
- 37:30Okay. Does it makes a little more
- 37:33sense? It makes a little more sense as
- 37:35to why she just stood there and did nothing.
- 37:39Pretty much on the kids, like I get it, like, it's very
- 37:43surprising, but I get a surprise because she's like suit, like
- 37:47she's very timid and around him. So like I get Get the character
- 37:52trait that, that makes sense to me.
- 37:55So I get it. So, also the fact that he's seen
- 37:58her looking pretty bad, like, there's no semblance of like,
- 38:03I'm going to look my best, no behave on my best, behavior at
- 38:06all the stuff try, and make a good impression.
- 38:09Like he's seen her literally at her worst doing the wrong thing
- 38:14in the hospital saying the wrong thing multiple times.
- 38:17And she doesn't seem to have much of a personality as far as
- 38:21far as That goes as well. Like, even in the hospital,
- 38:24she's dealing with patients and I'm like, she is dry as shit,
- 38:26like very matter-of-fact and clinical, and doesn't seem to
- 38:33have a lot of personality to her, like the other members of
- 38:37our crew, right? The other members of the crew.
- 38:39So Lively and energetic and fun, especially it June deliver guy.
- 38:45Like the letters are certain totally stealing the show.
- 38:47Every time he comes on the screen.
- 38:49He's yeah. He's great up scenery.
- 38:50Yeah, yeah. Yeah.
- 38:51You love to see it. So compared to all of them then
- 38:55her, you're just like, I feel extremely bad for her and then
- 39:01in that moment, when he kisses her, I beat it.
- 39:02Just got all its got so real, but then he's very tender with
- 39:06her. Y'all keep stroking her head,
- 39:08he's got a pretty slow and you just kind of buy into it.
- 39:12That maybe he's had these feelings for a long time and
- 39:14he's just been struggling with the pressure to not become a
- 39:20priest. Mmm.
- 39:22Yeah, that because that whole priesthood side side, plot type
- 39:28of thing. Where his mother is just like on
- 39:30him. Like, you know, I have you found
- 39:32a girlfriend or, you know, someone to Mentor?
- 39:35They are 40. Yeah, you know 40 years old.
- 39:40Maybe little older. Yeah.
- 39:41Because this takes well, they went to college in 99.
- 39:45Yes. So and it's been 22 years later.
- 39:49Yeah, they've had You know, they're not at the prime of
- 39:53their lives anymore and the mom, literally all our children are
- 39:58priests or nuns. And this one, last kid, the
- 40:02youngest of magni, he is still not married and actually he's
- 40:06still going to become a priest, a priest to like it's I feel
- 40:10heard as well where you're just like please don't give up on
- 40:14being a child. Surgeon.
- 40:15You're so good at it. You're so passionate about it.
- 40:18Like how could the resident not fall for him?
- 40:21She sees him dealing with all these children, and being so,
- 40:24gentle, and sweet to all of his little patience.
- 40:27Like, it's so cute, you really knows how to handle the kids.
- 40:32And he's just so loving and you're just like, yeah, like,
- 40:35I'd fall forward to. If I was a resident in the
- 40:38general surgeon unit, like he's the best.
- 40:42Yeah, he yamini, he is great. He's great, he's amazing.
- 40:46Yeah, so I like the way it ended, I can understand your
- 40:50qualms with With the kiss itself, but in the grand scheme
- 40:56of the plot and the characters and how far they've come there
- 40:59arcs, I fully believe like them. And yeah, I'd wish there was
- 41:05more coming from him and that you it wasn't such a like 180 of
- 41:08the end. Like suddenly has no Bible, no
- 41:10Rosary or whatever in his desk and like same day she comes
- 41:14she's like I like you, please stay and it just works out but
- 41:18the 180 was a little tough. If they'll explore that a little
- 41:23bit more in season 2, I bet you anything.
- 41:26They have to. They have to they can't just
- 41:29drop the religious side plot just randomly you do.
- 41:35Yeah. All right, let's switch gears
- 41:37and talk about chasing. Wha who is the neurosurgeon?
- 41:41So she also had actually to romances one was with her
- 41:46resident, who confessed his feelings for her and He like
- 41:52gave her flowers and he gave her new shoes and all of this stuff
- 41:56he was very sweet to her and he was came from the military
- 41:59academy, so he had a bit more of like an upright feeling to his
- 42:03personality. What did you feel about that
- 42:07whole? That relationship felt like this
- 42:13is going to be a reference for other people, but this felt like
- 42:18a relationship that I saw kind of kind of On the show Friends.
- 42:25Give me a second. Alright, so on the show Friends,
- 42:29the big relationship between characters is Ross and Rachel.
- 42:33That's the big one, right? Yeah, so the entire first season
- 42:37they spend like the t's of like, oh, he has feelings for her but
- 42:42he hasn't let her know. Hmm.
- 42:45But he liked you. It's so obvious how much he
- 42:48likes her, but she's kind of oblivious to it.
- 42:52And so in the meantime, they set up a love story for her with
- 42:57someone else in the first season and then they do the same thing
- 43:03and they set up a love story for him for Ross.
- 43:07After she breaks up with the guy, she's with they set up a
- 43:10story for him to keep them away, still apart for a while and even
- 43:16though on paper and even on screen, the girl that raw States
- 43:20is like perfect for And like, she's really good to him and
- 43:25everything you're still rooting for Ross, Ross and Rachel.
- 43:29Yes. So, in a way, that's kind of how
- 43:31this felt like, because he's a nice guy.
- 43:34Like obviously you can see like there's something there but you
- 43:38kind of want her to end up with actual over, man.
- 43:44Yeah, the liver man. So, so you're kind of like he's
- 43:48nice. It sucks, that that's not going
- 43:50to work in. Because in the back of your
- 43:52head, you kind of know. Yeah, this isn't going to last.
- 43:56Yeah, so I feel awful for this man, I want to extend a hug to
- 44:02this man wherever he is because he tried and it it just didn't
- 44:07work out. I don't think there was any
- 44:09chemistry between them. I don't think she even saw him
- 44:11as the dating potential partner or anything.
- 44:15She, he confesses that he gave her flowers that he gave her
- 44:18shoes and she doesn't connect the dots that Likes our, and
- 44:22then suddenly she's kind of outright asked him, you know, if
- 44:26he did all this. Does he like her?
- 44:29He says, yes, and her reaction was too shocked.
- 44:34I thought her reaction was just too shocked.
- 44:35She should have asked that question and expected a, yes,
- 44:38yeah, she should have read the tea leaves on that one, like
- 44:41what? Okay, so I is there something
- 44:44that I'm missing here, like, I know, are you not okay, this guy
- 44:50is getting you stuff. Buying me presents.
- 44:51Presents and getting you things and you think what like that it
- 44:58doesn't like you that he's just doing this as like a very nice
- 45:02person like all let me buy her you know like shoes and flowers
- 45:07and whatever. Yeah it's based he's going out
- 45:09of his way like come on and the way that she reacts he she was
- 45:14just like he goes on. He says, oh I've liked you for a
- 45:17long time and she goes. Stop talking.
- 45:21I'd rather you just Stop talking and she doesn't say anything
- 45:24definitive. Like if it is also a very weird
- 45:28relationship because he's her subordinate and she is in the
- 45:32position of power. She is the professor, right?
- 45:35And she doesn't really kind of resolve the situation.
- 45:42You know, he walks out in silence, super dejected.
- 45:44I felt awful for him. I think that and that situation.
- 45:48Number one, she should have known before.
- 45:51She even asked the question that the answer was yes, that he did
- 45:54like her, she can't be shocked with a taser and shouldn't be
- 45:58shocked. And then number two she Chef
- 46:00should have definitely thought about what she was going to say
- 46:04or had is some sort of answer for him versus let's just stop
- 46:09talking about this in the sweep this under the rug.
- 46:12No, that's not a good enough, answer it all four.
- 46:17And then again like he walks out, super dejected, but also
- 46:21dejected because she didn't give him a yes or no.
- 46:24She was just kind of like let you know, just like a well,
- 46:31we'll cross that bridge when we get to it yet.
- 46:35The bridge is right here, like we're here now, I hated that,
- 46:41you know, Of her. Smartness and intellect, she
- 46:44didn't seem to have a good emotional response.
- 46:46No, she did not for that Crush that he had on her and it was I
- 46:51feel like the most legitimate out of all the crushes that, you
- 46:54know, went in and out of the show.
- 46:57So that was really, really annoying.
- 46:59But her character is really fun at times, like they show her
- 47:02leading worship as a dancer. And I, when I saw that I yelped,
- 47:09it was fantastic. I really Lee, enjoyed that
- 47:12moment, where the two interns the twins are.
- 47:15Like we've seen you before and they're like, do you lead
- 47:19worship at whatever church and she's like, oh my God.
- 47:21Yes, I do. And then cut doing episode
- 47:26before they show her actually dancing.
- 47:29Like she's in like sweatpants and everything like Center Stage
- 47:32Center platform going apeshit on the worship song with a full
- 47:37choir like oh God it was fantastic.
- 47:41Sick. I really that really shaped my
- 47:44opinion or her because you feel like she's kind of a hard-ass,
- 47:47like really stoic. And yeah, she's very nice and
- 47:51she's great with her patients and she's super smart.
- 47:52She liked studying. She likes being by herself.
- 47:54She's independent, but she knows how to have fun and she like,
- 47:58goes 100 on things that she's passionate about.
- 48:01So I like that. It's softened her in an
- 48:04innocence versus like everything else that we saw about her,
- 48:08right? That is sure.
- 48:10She also had the health scare There she found a lump in her
- 48:13breast. Yeah, Altra sound and look,
- 48:14good. I was like, whoa, this is a
- 48:16pretty interesting twist that throw in there.
- 48:19Yes. I was kind of fully expecting
- 48:21her to have it to have cancer. Yes, to really make it like a
- 48:26like a true drama. I true drama.
- 48:30Where it's like, oh my God, he she got cancer, like, cat
- 48:32classic, hey, drama Trope, like someone gets fatally sick, but
- 48:37no, it ended up being benign, you know.
- 48:41But I really like that the other relationship her relationship
- 48:44with it. June deliver guy was Advanced
- 48:47through this health scare because he shows up for her.
- 48:50Yeah. For the biopsy results.
- 48:53Exactly. He shows up, he had some sort of
- 48:55all-nighter, what have you and like, showed up at the hospital
- 48:58and none of the other guys did. Although they offered, they
- 49:01offered to go with you and all the stuff he did an offer.
- 49:04He like, made it known that I'm going to be here.
- 49:06He went with her to support her and was you know very much
- 49:11involved in her emotional health.
- 49:14Like you could see how nervous she was.
- 49:16You could see that she was all, like expecting the worst.
- 49:21Yeah. But hoping for the best hoping
- 49:23for the best and his support and his presence, just meant
- 49:27everything in that moment of, you know, uncertainty so photo
- 49:32like that. Mm-hmm.
- 49:34Exactly. So I like that part and that's I
- 49:37think also where I kind of was like oh he likes her in those.
- 49:41That was the episodes. I was like oh that's like Way
- 49:45Beyond at first, I actually was shipping the pdh be the
- 49:50Pediatric and Dries, I was shipping dock Andreas 10 because
- 49:56they showed them going out to dinner and stuff and he was so
- 50:00he took care of everybody but especially liked her.
- 50:02He was handing her utensils. He was like kind of anticipating
- 50:06what she would want to eat. How many servings they were
- 50:09going to order and that sort of thing and I was like oh he likes
- 50:12her. But no, it wasn't.
- 50:14It wasn't that I read that wrong.
- 50:18Yeah, you definitely very wrong. I didn't I didn't really buy
- 50:22them as a couple although I see what you're saying.
- 50:26I could see where, like if you connect those dots you can kind
- 50:29of get there but you see we never got three intuitive with
- 50:34her needs. Yes.
- 50:36And so those little gestures, I was like oh he isn't her but no,
- 50:41he wasn't. No, he was not.
- 50:44No I definitely feel like Instagram.
- 50:47Season 2. It's a toss-up between those two
- 50:50characters. It June and the Nero lady.
- 50:54You think that won't? They get together.
- 50:56So it could either be. Do not know you could see it not
- 51:00happening. I can see it, not, or it could
- 51:03happen like it, where it could happen.
- 51:05Like, she's very good with his son.
- 51:07Who is the cutest kid of all time?
- 51:10Taking care of him. When the dad needed to go, you
- 51:15know, handle an emergency at the hospital.
- 51:17She stayed with him and was, you know, very close to his family
- 51:22but that doesn't necessarily mean, she has feelings for the
- 51:27man. So I I'm on the fence.
- 51:31Obviously, people who are loving Hospital playlist and have
- 51:35already seen bits of season 2 can answer this better than I
- 51:38can, but my reaction is, it's 50/50 You know, little bit like
- 51:46maybe know. I feel like if you don't resolve
- 51:50that in a positive way people will turn On the show, I mean on
- 51:56the show itself. So you think if they just don't
- 52:00answer that question at all and none of them Revolt.
- 52:03No, or do you mean if they answer it and it's a no Revolt?
- 52:07Exactly. Oh, I think, I think that if
- 52:10they resolve it in a way, that is them not being together.
- 52:14People are going to be upset. That's my guess.
- 52:18I can see it. I can see it both ways though.
- 52:22I can see them kind of like getting a few episodes in and
- 52:25then they kind of give you an answer and it's a negatory
- 52:28because of everything that you've seen or they leave you
- 52:31like on pins and needles like oh will they won't they for the
- 52:34first few episodes? And then they answer it, right?
- 52:36I don't mind that. I wouldn't mind that.
- 52:38Like, if they do that even have like a flirtation between Tween
- 52:441. This is mostly coming from it,
- 52:46June side, like liver guy was going really hard on expressing
- 52:50his feelings and you can see in his facial expressions, when
- 52:53things didn't go his way or other people were in her life or
- 52:56what-have-you. She couldn't even eat a meal
- 52:58with them. He was disappointed, right?
- 53:01So you can sense his feelings, but I can't get a read on her at
- 53:06all. No you can't.
- 53:08So it's going to know. I have no idea if she's going to
- 53:11say yes or no. That's, that's the thing about
- 53:14her. Is that she plays her basically.
- 53:18Her emotions are so close to the chest that it's like, I don't
- 53:24know what you're going to say. I don't know how you even feel
- 53:29because it's just so hard to get a gauge on her like truly.
- 53:35So, I don't know. I'd only I don't see it going in
- 53:42the negative. Of Direction, like I feel like
- 53:45maybe there's some this fan service.
- 53:48They will just do it and it'll be a relationship.
- 53:53I think it'll be a relationship. I think they'll get there in a
- 53:56rocky way like they, you know, it'll be like, I should say no
- 54:01to him because like we're colleagues and this and that
- 54:04and, you know, she'll have like a, you know, a reason at least
- 54:09to give herself to say no. So at first, It'll be like, no,
- 54:15we shouldn't do this. So he's down on the dumps, but
- 54:18then her feelings will come back and she'll start seeing you
- 54:23might be on the right track where it's like a know at first.
- 54:26And then it turns into a yes, because they get more
- 54:29flirtatious and they have more moments together and season 2, I
- 54:32could totally happen as well. I just feel like her reaction
- 54:36with her intern, or sorry, resident, and that whole
- 54:41reaction, and then the fox back. Max, we get of her with the
- 54:44obstetrician and him confessing his feelings, to her, as well,
- 54:47and shutting them down. Like it just seems like she
- 54:51might not go for it with it, June, at least nuts, but he's
- 54:56such a catch as well. He's so sweet.
- 54:58Great. Oh, he's great, really just such
- 55:01a fun personality to be around and he's the one that brings us
- 55:05so much of the comedy to the show as well, is his Shenanigans
- 55:09and his silliness. He's downright silly show.
- 55:13So I like that. I like them together, but I
- 55:15don't know if it'll happen. We'll see.
- 55:18Hmm, let's talk about the obstetrician real fast because
- 55:21he had daddy issues, he did. That was his weakness.
- 55:26I did like that the daddy issues culminated in daddy, checking
- 55:31into the VIP, Ward at the hospital and then his mom goes
- 55:35to throw down. She's fine.
- 55:40She's like from the cleaning staff takes.
- 55:43A bucket of dirty mop water. Floors it all over the mistress
- 55:48and then instead of a kimchi slap, we get her throwing the
- 55:51dirty wash rag into the old bags face which made me cackle like
- 55:55for some reason, the slap sound of the wet dirty rag, hitting
- 55:59that old man. That's just 10% me but I liked
- 56:04it. I feel like we don't talk about
- 56:07this a lot where you don't want to give the satisfaction.
- 56:13To the person who did you wrong, right?
- 56:16And that's exactly what she was doing.
- 56:18Her whole life is like, I'm not going to give you a divorce.
- 56:21That's what you want, it'll make you happy.
- 56:22Why should I be unhappy and you be happy you won't get the
- 56:25satisfaction no divorce for you. So I quite enjoyed her little
- 56:31tiny Arc where she was like flipping back and forth between
- 56:35divorce. No I won't divorce him.
- 56:37Yes I'll divorce him. No I won't.
- 56:40You know what happens to all the assets if I divorce him.
- 56:43And all of that stuff goes to the mistress.
- 56:45Like, why should she get all this stuff?
- 56:46That's a good point. Why should she get it all?
- 56:49Yeah, so it actually ends on a positive note because the dad
- 56:53dies, she never divorces him. She calls off the divorce.
- 56:55Once he gets sick for real and he dies and they get everything.
- 57:00His will is actually pretty selfish because at the end of
- 57:04the day, he was like, I want to give everything to my son and I
- 57:07want him to run my company. Exactly.
- 57:08He basically wants him to stop being a doctor and run the
- 57:12company. Yes.
- 57:14Super, super selfish of him to think that his grown son, who
- 57:19he's basically does nothing for barely loved.
- 57:22If you can even call it that should take over his company,
- 57:27you know, it's a legacy thing surprise.
- 57:29Yeah. It's a legacy thing.
- 57:31Yeah. Hmm.
- 57:34Did you like any of the, the patient stories?
- 57:41I for the most part, no only because not because I didn't
- 57:48sympathize for them or empathize for them but I think it was just
- 57:53more like I was ready to just move on from whatever storyline.
- 57:58I know there was one story line that I found someone interesting
- 58:02just because I was like, what's the play here?
- 58:05And it was the father son, where Are there in the VIP rooms and
- 58:11the father wants his son to do, give him a the liver.
- 58:16I believe, it's got to be delivered a piece of his liver,
- 58:19right? But it turns out it's not his
- 58:22son, it's not really his sons. A fraud case, it's a fraud case.
- 58:27So I found that one to be a little bit intriguing.
- 58:30At least there was some sad ones that was just like I don't want
- 58:34to think about this. Like like I feel that like
- 58:38there's moments where like A child dies, you know, because
- 58:43they can do anything else. And I'm just like, I'm not here
- 58:47for this man, like I can't do this, you know, and it's
- 58:53stressful. Yeah, those were truly
- 58:56stressful. There was a, I wrote down, a few
- 58:59of them. So for me, the organ donor were
- 59:02the lady tells the wife like the surgery starts started at 12:05
- 59:06a.m. which means that Your your your family member has died.
- 59:12Yeah. And you know it June is the one
- 59:15that's leading the surgery and he's just like let's just wait
- 59:1810 minutes and that the people from the other hospital or like
- 59:21why don't we just start now? Like it's fine.
- 59:22And he's like today is children's day and we don't want
- 59:27to kill the dad essentially on children's day, right?
- 59:31So that the child will always have a sour children's day.
- 59:34Like, in remember the death of their father on children's day,
- 59:37it's a huge deal. So It was merciful almost to
- 59:41have waited ten minutes and then have the official time of death
- 59:45be the next day and not on children's day.
- 59:47So I cried with that. Even starting the surgery, 10
- 59:52minutes later, I didn't even get it.
- 59:53Until he was like today is Children's Day.
- 59:56Children which over there is like Mother's Day, Father's Day,
- 1:00:00children's day, they get their own day, they get thrown day,
- 1:00:03and it's a special day for specifically celebrating
- 1:00:07children, and for the father to have died on that day.
- 1:00:10It's like that one day. You're just like, you know,
- 1:00:17remembering a very sad event. And I don't think that Just any
- 1:00:26doctor in there would have thought of that as well.
- 1:00:30Probably not like none of the other doctors were like, okay,
- 1:00:34as soon as he said had to explain it it's children's day.
- 1:00:39I don't, you know, let's wait 10 minutes or whatever for to be
- 1:00:41tomorrow, right? Yeah.
- 1:00:44So that was one, that made me really emotional the baby born
- 1:00:48with no brain. Oh, what the hell was that?
- 1:00:52Oh my God like, oh my God. Like you got to be kidding me.
- 1:00:56They're going to try to somehow make this work or somehow do
- 1:01:02this. Yeah.
- 1:01:03And then I was like, we was like suck young was like oh can you
- 1:01:08smother the baby's cries? When the baby is born just in
- 1:01:12case and the resident completely took it backward like I
- 1:01:17understood immediately. Why he was saying this because
- 1:01:20the baby's gonna die, right? The baby's gonna die.
- 1:01:23It's dead. Essentially, and it's, you know,
- 1:01:28a compassionate thing to not have the mother, listen to the
- 1:01:32baby's cries. So then they have like this loud
- 1:01:35music blaring. Yeah, they turn up the classical
- 1:01:38music. And the doctor, the resident
- 1:01:40ends up understanding what he was actually saying and does it
- 1:01:45and so it's sad. The new dad singing in the
- 1:01:48delivery room. I thought that was cute, though.
- 1:01:52That was pretty cute. Yeah, that was That was so
- 1:01:57that's why with most of them. I just had a bit of a hard time
- 1:02:01with some of those because it's just like it is.
- 1:02:06Yeah so I cried and with the elderly couple that said goodbye
- 1:02:10to her son who kept bleeding out after the infected stint in his
- 1:02:14heart they end up saving him. They do that's that's a great
- 1:02:18one because that's baby is positive.
- 1:02:20But in the moment where they like took out like his baby,
- 1:02:25Fear and like, laid it on top of him, like I lost it.
- 1:02:28Like I started crying. It just reminded me so much of
- 1:02:32saying goodbye to my own Aunt. Like when she was in hospice and
- 1:02:35dealing with that, I was just like, oh my god, I've been there
- 1:02:39to like see your family member waste away rather quickly.
- 1:02:42It just sent me the woman, who lost her.
- 1:02:48Baby, it died inside of her. Jesus Christ, that one was
- 1:02:54brutal. Brutal.
- 1:02:55Brutal brutal, because he had a full schedule of patients
- 1:02:59waiting outside and they were complaining the whole time
- 1:03:03because it was just getting ridiculous.
- 1:03:06They were waiting so long, the appointments were running long
- 1:03:09and they could all hear this woman sobbing because they
- 1:03:14couldn't find a heartbeat. The baby is gone.
- 1:03:19Oh my God. It was, it was so bad.
- 1:03:23Oh my gosh. So we did have a little bit of a
- 1:03:27kdrama ISM where the twin interns their mom had died when
- 1:03:33they were young and they had a resident come and tell them
- 1:03:36personally and start crying to them saying sorry I should have
- 1:03:39done better all this stuff. It was actually the neuro lady.
- 1:03:43Our girl song ha who had operated on their mom and was
- 1:03:47very sorry and Kind of it was an influential patient for her and
- 1:03:53then that the final episode it is revealed that the intern the
- 1:03:57kind of realizes and she starts crying.
- 1:03:59And she hugs are girl, the neuro lady and it's just I liked it
- 1:04:05but then I didn't like it because it was too on the nose.
- 1:04:10I mean, course, they're in turning underneath the woman
- 1:04:13who, like, operated on their mom and inspired them with her
- 1:04:18empathy, to become doctors themselves.
- 1:04:20So, it was like, like, a too much of too much of like, wow,
- 1:04:26everything yeah happens to be in this world.
- 1:04:29Yeah, so that was a trophy Trope that I didn't quite enjoy,
- 1:04:35although it was very emotional. So let's get to the final
- 1:04:41Cliffhanger which is the Obstetricians.
- 1:04:44Wife calls. Oh ex-wife calls them on the
- 1:04:47phone. After he rejects dinner after he
- 1:04:50rejects dinner with his resident.
- 1:04:52Yeah. Where do you think that's gonna
- 1:04:55not? Give a shit about that
- 1:04:57relationship? That's a season to, that's
- 1:05:01definitely Cliffhanger for season two.
- 1:05:03I do not give a shit. Yeah that is just a
- 1:05:07relationship. That what does it matter in the
- 1:05:11end? Is that a relationship going to
- 1:05:15go back to? Because they meant they mention
- 1:05:17that ex-wife of couple of times. Yeah.
- 1:05:21It's not just like a wind. Yeah.
- 1:05:24And they keep pestering him in the like, do you stick but you
- 1:05:26still love her. It sounds like he still loved
- 1:05:27her and he's like, no, I don't love her.
- 1:05:29Just kind of feel sorry for the way things ended, you know, I
- 1:05:33feel sorry toward her. So I think that is going to end
- 1:05:37up exactly where I'm thinking where there's going to be.
- 1:05:42I guess some sort of Of love triangle between him, his ex and
- 1:05:48the the resident. Let's say it's not great, having
- 1:05:53the resident, don't really Belong Together.
- 1:05:54Do you feel like they know they do based on what you've seen
- 1:05:58with him in the Resident? Now there's nothing really there
- 1:06:00I think. Yeah.
- 1:06:01I think it makes more sense of I guess if you're going to mention
- 1:06:09the X so much, you know, like check off sex has to appear and
- 1:06:15it has to be part of the story. It is chekov's gun.
- 1:06:19Yeah. So in this case, it's check-up
- 1:06:21sex. So yeah, I think she's going to
- 1:06:24show up and not only just show up but like be part of the
- 1:06:27story, you know, the only way that I would support it is if
- 1:06:31it's somebody I know like a face Not just like a random, you
- 1:06:36know. I can't really this person to
- 1:06:37drop. It's got to be like a known
- 1:06:39actress. I wanted to be a known actress
- 1:06:41that I'm like, ooh, like this could be interesting, so I don't
- 1:06:46know if that happens. I don't know the cast list for
- 1:06:48for season two, but that's my, that's my two cents.
- 1:06:53If it's somebody well-known, then okay, I'll let it fly.
- 1:06:58I'll see where it leads. Well, see where it leads
- 1:07:01needless to say, you're not going to see season 2.
- 1:07:04Most likely not. Alright guys, do not recommend a
- 1:07:10hospital drama because we will rip it to shreds.
- 1:07:12Just like we did this very good popular Hospital playlist, is
- 1:07:18there anything else that you want to add?
- 1:07:21I would say I'm sorry to the fans of the show.
- 1:07:23It's just man medical procedures are not for me and so I gave it
- 1:07:28a shot. Like I went through and really
- 1:07:30tried to get in there. And, but or the most part, it
- 1:07:34just didn't allow me to sink into it because again, I'm just
- 1:07:40not interested in the medical stuff and so much of it is the
- 1:07:42medical stuff. So it's kind of hard to yeah.
- 1:07:45Pull one part for me is really X good, but having to deal with
- 1:07:50all the other stuff in between mmm, Not cool.
- 1:07:55Not for me, I should say. And now for you either?
- 1:07:58No, it's not unfortunately. All right.
- 1:08:01Well, I think that's it, right? You don't got anything else?
