- 7:20[SPEAKER_16]: Other things going on today, we have, well, I see the, um,
- 7:31[SPEAKER_16]: Burlskown cookies are out for the season.
- 7:32[SPEAKER_16]: Yeah.

- 8:06[SPEAKER_16]: In addition to the Tree forils, thinments, the Samoa's, all of that, the traditional ones.
- 8:17[SPEAKER_16]: Mm-hmm.
- 8:17[SPEAKER_16]: Now, alright, support your Girl Scouts.
- 8:22[SPEAKER_16]: I don't know how, remember being in workplaces and somebody would come in and
- 8:27[SPEAKER_16]: Somebody always had a kid who was looking to order and he always ordered you know my dad to go get the orders for them because me I think the kids should have to command and pitch it to you I'd still get the order but I mean you know teacher my lesson major my lesson I'm telling you all right Supreme Court hearing yesterday though these lawyers couldn't define boy and girl we have
- 8:58[SPEAKER_16]: Well lawyers can't believe many way they lie from one minute to the next trust me I know that big meeting going out at the White House officials from Greenland Denmark, Secretary of State Rubio and U.S. delegation talking about I think we'll have Greenland by dinner time.
- 9:17[SPEAKER_16]: Now I think by dinner time we'll be able to voice the toast to our new neighbors.
- 9:24[SPEAKER_16]: Here's what I would offer you.
- 9:26[SPEAKER_16]: There's 57,000, and that's a liberal count.
- 9:29[SPEAKER_16]: That's not many people.
- 9:31[SPEAKER_16]: That's the number of people that may be unique right now.
- 9:36[SPEAKER_16]: Yeah.
- 9:38[SPEAKER_16]: So just say to them, we're not going to do this for your people in jail or convicted criminals.
- 9:45[SPEAKER_16]: It might be a few of them there, but I would say, let them be citizens and give them some money.
- 9:57[SPEAKER_16]: Maybe they want to get out of there.
- 10:00[SPEAKER_16]: Yeah.
- 10:01[SPEAKER_16]: And then we got to start moving our fast food chains in.
- 10:06[SPEAKER_16]: What a Jersey Mike says.
- 10:08[SPEAKER_16]: Jersey Mike's opening in water town today.
- 10:09[SPEAKER_16]: Congratulations on those folks.
- 10:12[SPEAKER_16]: Yeah, that's a lot of work to open a store.
- 10:15[SPEAKER_16]: Not easy.
- 10:16[SPEAKER_16]: Not easy.
- 10:17[SPEAKER_16]: What a work kind of store it is.
- 10:20[SPEAKER_16]: And I see Carthage Bank is building a new bank in the building city here.
- 10:24[SPEAKER_16]: That's to be appreciated too.
- 10:26[SPEAKER_16]: commercial development that's what builds attack space that's what builds attack space so anyway uh... seven five five twelve forty or four number of it like to write gives a call to be on the show shows uh... the things going on will you know i under all of this uh...
- 10:57[SPEAKER_16]: Yep, don't like that.
- 11:02[SPEAKER_16]: I don't know what else is going on.
- 11:03[SPEAKER_16]: Not like that.
- 11:08[SPEAKER_16]: The story about the demise of old media as TV news fades and generational media is under way.
- 11:14[SPEAKER_16]: Yeah, I don't know.
- 11:18[SPEAKER_16]: Even locally, I don't think people rely on local news anymore.
- 11:29[SPEAKER_16]: And then the Olsen, as I can remember, back in the mid-80s, you get a 90 share in the local and the Metro numbers.
- 11:36[SPEAKER_16]: Yeah, 90 percent of the sun stood again in Watertown, it's sent in the metro area, we're two and two and two and a row of channel seven news.
- 11:46[SPEAKER_16]: That's where you down from, bad.
- 11:49[SPEAKER_16]: Yeah, it's just a different world.
- 11:53[SPEAKER_16]: Different world.
- 11:55[SPEAKER_16]: Where do you get your local news?
- 11:58[SPEAKER_16]: Noisy neighbors, Facebook, the grapevine, or don't you care.
- 12:05[SPEAKER_16]: A lot of people just don't care anymore.
- 12:08[SPEAKER_16]: Like, yes, I heard a story, and I haven't seen anything in the mainstream media, but somebody lit a dog on fire on state street, a dog.
- 12:18[SPEAKER_16]: Now, that's water cooling news.
- 12:20[SPEAKER_16]: That's the kind of stuff you say, oh my god, I've got a dog, I love my dog.
- 12:25[SPEAKER_16]: I wouldn't set it on fire.
- 12:27[SPEAKER_16]: but some bumps at a dog on fire on state street.
- 12:30[SPEAKER_16]: Why don't we get any news about that?
- 12:33[SPEAKER_16]: Whatever happened to the local news.
- 12:39[SPEAKER_16]: If he rude, but that's the kind of stuff people want to hear, unfortunately, not that cerebral news.
- 12:51[SPEAKER_16]: Yeah, you know, I watched him.
- 12:53[SPEAKER_16]: Now we check with Diane at noon and today they lead with a network piece on an interview that CBS had with Trump.
- 13:01[SPEAKER_16]: It's already been aired a hundred times.
- 13:05[SPEAKER_16]: I want some news.
- 13:06[SPEAKER_16]: You know, the first three letters of the word news are NEW.
- 13:10[SPEAKER_16]: New.
- 13:13[SPEAKER_16]: Now, who's a guy, 56-year-old Main Street resident, went into a steward shop on mill street and I go to that store.
- 13:21[SPEAKER_16]: He's accused of stealing three cans of new Belgium Voodoo Ranger IPA, and that's got a pretty good alcohol content, so he's drinking for a fact in that taste.
- 13:32[SPEAKER_16]: Yeah, three cans can get you going.
- 13:36[SPEAKER_16]: I would think of that stuff.
- 13:37[SPEAKER_16]: I know somebody who drinks the Voodoo Ranger IPA.
- 13:40[UNKNOWN]: Yep.
- 13:43[SPEAKER_16]: And here's another one.
- 13:47[SPEAKER_16]: when the rest is on the warrant, we don't know what it is.
- 13:49[SPEAKER_16]: That's about it and here in the city, but where's the dog?
- 13:55[SPEAKER_16]: Did a dog get lit on fire on state street?
- 13:58[SPEAKER_16]: Anybody know?
- 13:58[SPEAKER_16]: Does anybody follow anything?
- 14:04[SPEAKER_16]: Yeah.
- 14:04[SPEAKER_16]: It was on that crime rate, everything.
- 14:08[SPEAKER_16]: Doesn't mean it's true, but it means it's probably true.
- 14:15[SPEAKER_17]: Yeah.
- 14:18[SPEAKER_16]: Well, I don't know.
- 14:22[SPEAKER_16]: I'll have to, maybe I'll ask John Moore after the show here.
- 14:25[SPEAKER_16]: Let's see what he has to say.
- 14:29[SPEAKER_16]: But that's the kind of news.
- 14:32[SPEAKER_16]: It's tragic.
- 14:33[SPEAKER_16]: It's disgusting.
- 14:35[SPEAKER_16]: It's vile.
- 14:37[SPEAKER_16]: And it's interesting.
- 14:40[SPEAKER_16]: Say, why are we talking about a dentist and his wife in Columbus, Ohio, were killed by her ex-husband,
- 14:49[SPEAKER_16]: well because there's a lot of people that might leave their husband to hook up with their dentist.
- 14:54[SPEAKER_16]: Yeah, get a good looking dentist, good practice all of that stuff, we don't know what might happen after that, you've got to keep on one eye over the shoulder, that's right, that's right.
- 15:08[SPEAKER_16]: 755, 1240 are from a number if you'd like to give us a hoot and a holler to be on the show today.
- 15:18[SPEAKER_16]: Now, to any of you get Girl Scout Crocus, somebody texted in Mayor Channel 7 has to spend half the program crapping on the president.
- 15:31[SPEAKER_16]: You know, I think that's true.
- 15:43[SPEAKER_16]: And let's see.
- 15:46[SPEAKER_16]: but he texted in a picture of the new building across from the post office.
- 15:49[SPEAKER_16]: I saw that.
- 15:50[SPEAKER_16]: It's the low-income housing.
- 15:51[SPEAKER_16]: That's fine.
- 15:52[SPEAKER_16]: It's good to see something being built.
- 16:01[SPEAKER_16]: Let's see.
- 16:02[SPEAKER_16]: There's a not a very compliment.
- 16:03[SPEAKER_16]: I don't, I'm not going to talk about things that are not complimentary.
- 16:07[SPEAKER_16]: Why should I?
- 16:09[SPEAKER_16]: Yeah.
- 16:10[SPEAKER_16]: Why should I?
- 16:11[SPEAKER_16]: Not my best interest.
- 16:14[SPEAKER_16]: There's a person who said three foils are thin minutes of their favorites.
- 16:18[SPEAKER_16]: I agree.
- 16:19[SPEAKER_16]: I agree.
- 16:21[SPEAKER_16]: Those are good.
- 16:22[SPEAKER_16]: I like the some Owens.
- 16:23[SPEAKER_16]: I haven't looked outside to see if there's some Owens anymore.
- 16:28[SPEAKER_16]: But those are good cookies.
- 16:32[SPEAKER_16]: You know, you always feel bad when you open a box of girls.
- 16:34[SPEAKER_16]: You have cookies because you eat the whole thing.
- 16:36[SPEAKER_16]: Oh, I'm just going to have no.
- 16:37[SPEAKER_16]: You eat the whole damn thing.
- 16:44[SPEAKER_16]: a lot of guilty pleasure in that type of stuff.
- 16:50[SPEAKER_16]: Well, so what do you think we should do with the ran?
- 16:52[SPEAKER_16]: Anything?
- 16:53[SPEAKER_16]: Kills some people?
- 16:54[SPEAKER_16]: I don't know.
- 16:54[SPEAKER_16]: They're killing plenty as it is.
- 16:58[SPEAKER_16]: But what are we?
- 17:01[SPEAKER_16]: The real focus is on, well, it depends in the world on who's getting killed.
- 17:08[SPEAKER_16]: The lady in Minneapolis, big deal.
- 17:10[SPEAKER_16]: People in Gaza, big deal.
- 17:13[SPEAKER_16]: Iranians being killed by Mollons, we don't care about that.
- 17:19[SPEAKER_16]: Yeah.
- 17:19[SPEAKER_16]: But I have to do it right near.
- 17:21[SPEAKER_14]: Yeah, I don't listen there.
- 17:22[SPEAKER_14]: Yeah.
- 17:24[UNKNOWN]: I got a great girl scout cookie story for you.
- 17:27[SPEAKER_17]: Sure.
- 17:31[SPEAKER_14]: My niece, this is about 25 years ago.
- 17:34[SPEAKER_14]: She was a little girl.
- 17:36[SPEAKER_14]: Very shy.
- 17:38[SPEAKER_14]: And she had me walk with her.
- 17:41[SPEAKER_14]: and not on the door, she had her girl scow out for another thing.
- 17:45[SPEAKER_14]: She had her, and she was so on, we saw a girl scow cookie.
- 17:51[SPEAKER_14]: I said, no, you tell me, you don't want someone.
- 17:54[SPEAKER_14]: I'm just hearing it, it's really support.
- 17:59[SPEAKER_14]: Would you like to buy some girl scow cookies?
- 18:02[SPEAKER_14]: And it turns out to be the house, when the house was being a bunch of disabled people,
- 18:11[SPEAKER_14]: mm-hmm, that's why they put them all in one house, and they all point a girl so cook these cook, and she sold like 25 batches of girls out cook it, where did this one house?
- 18:26[SPEAKER_16]: Good for her, and she learned a good lesson too.
- 18:28[SPEAKER_14]: My cousin, she's used to, I still have a spa, mm-hmm.
- 18:31[SPEAKER_14]: So, I didn't know, man, you got your cooking book sold all out of any man.
- 18:36[SPEAKER_16]: Well that's great because that just goes to, that's a good lesson, the young lady learned.
- 18:42[SPEAKER_14]: Yeah, and I made as you know, you sound the cookie's not me.
- 18:46[SPEAKER_14]: Mm-hmm.
- 18:47[SPEAKER_14]: And the ladies wrote that, they said, oh, they would jump it up and down and everybody was all happy.
- 18:53[SPEAKER_14]: So that was a good, good, good story for you.
- 18:57[SPEAKER_16]: Mm-hmm.
- 18:57[SPEAKER_16]: Okay.
- 18:57[SPEAKER_16]: Well, thank you very much.
- 18:59[SPEAKER_16]: All right.
- 19:01[SPEAKER_16]: By now.
- 19:01[SPEAKER_16]: Man, that's a good story.
- 19:02[SPEAKER_16]: You know, get out there.
- 19:03[SPEAKER_16]: Use it as a, as a learning tool.
- 19:06[SPEAKER_16]: Out of a French people.
- 19:10[SPEAKER_16]: Yes, we got a story here.
- 19:13[SPEAKER_16]: Yes, that story about the dog on state street is true.
- 19:17[SPEAKER_16]: The person that set him on fire should be set on fire himself on public squares so we can all watch and score him with lighter fluid.
- 19:25[SPEAKER_16]: It's about time we started an eye for an eye and showing somebody's idiots and some of these idiots, they can't break the law.
- 19:33[SPEAKER_16]: I agree with Bob.
- 19:38[SPEAKER_16]: He raises a good point, but why you sent that in the news?
- 19:44[SPEAKER_16]: Is the dog dead?
- 19:45[SPEAKER_16]: Does anybody know what kind of dog was it?
- 19:49[SPEAKER_16]: Was anybody arrested?
- 19:52[SPEAKER_16]: And even if it were at the top of the bladder, I don't think the local news would run that story.
- 19:56[SPEAKER_16]: They consider that kind of stuff.
- 19:59[SPEAKER_16]: That should be news.
- 20:00[SPEAKER_16]: Well, such a beneath us.
- 20:04[SPEAKER_16]: Yeah.
- 20:04[SPEAKER_16]: I don't know if it's true, it's true, but
- 20:07[SPEAKER_16]: You know, I'll have to ask, you know, probably my buddy down there on State Street.
- 20:13[SPEAKER_16]: He would know.
- 20:16[SPEAKER_16]: Yeah.
- 20:19[SPEAKER_16]: I'll text him.
- 20:23[SPEAKER_16]: Let's see, did somebody set a dog on fire on State Street?
- 20:38[SPEAKER_16]: three.
- 20:40[SPEAKER_16]: All right, we'll send that.
- 20:41[SPEAKER_16]: I'll see if we get a message.
- 20:42[SPEAKER_16]: I don't know.
- 20:43[SPEAKER_16]: But that's a interesting thing.
- 20:47[SPEAKER_16]: All righty.
- 20:47[SPEAKER_16]: Well, we'll see if we get a response to that and take a little break here and be back with more of the hotlight in just a moment.

- 24:56[SPEAKER_16]: They do that in Minnesota all the time, yeah, all the time.
- 25:03[SPEAKER_16]: Oh, let's see, um... Well, I brought up a rander, a rander earlier.
- 25:12[SPEAKER_16]: That's that crack-by-country in the Middle East.
- 25:16[SPEAKER_16]: Yeah.
- 25:16[SPEAKER_16]: You know, I see the pictures of the people, they look like normal people live in there.
- 25:20[SPEAKER_16]: And yet the people who run the country are a bunch of freaks, we're in funny outfits.
- 25:25[SPEAKER_16]: Yeah, rand muffties and all that stuff.
- 25:29[SPEAKER_16]: Okay, I don't know.
- 25:32[SPEAKER_16]: The only grand mousti, I know, is Joe Browsky.
- 25:35[SPEAKER_16]: He's the grand mousti, of a critic.
- 25:39[SPEAKER_16]: Some 755, 1240, the phone number, if you'd like to be on the air today.
- 25:45[SPEAKER_16]: Well, let's see, anybody watch the governor's speech?
- 25:48[SPEAKER_16]: No disrespect to the young lady, but I didn't.
- 25:52[SPEAKER_16]: First of all, I'm not interested in hearing the stuff about Trump's socks.
- 25:55[SPEAKER_16]: I mean, I can make my own assessments of Mr. Trump on various issues.
- 26:01[SPEAKER_16]: Now, here's some nice video posted of troopers, rescuing a dog that had fallen through the ice, good for them, good for them.
- 26:10[SPEAKER_16]: It's the other side of the coin on the story about the dog that was set on fire and stakes for you and the story is being satat.
- 26:21[SPEAKER_16]: Yeah.
- 26:24[SPEAKER_16]: Satat, I'm convinced.
- 26:31[SPEAKER_16]: Or maybe they don't think it's news, that could be in the very well-fied atmosphere of our local news decision makers or innovators and influencers.
- 26:43[SPEAKER_16]: They may not consider a dark being set on fire to be newsworthy.
- 26:49[SPEAKER_16]: Here's an estimate on buying Greenland 700 billion.
- 26:52[SPEAKER_16]: I think that's a fair price.
- 26:54[SPEAKER_16]: I hope it goes to the people in that Denmark.
- 27:03[SPEAKER_16]: And I don't know if we could get it on time, maybe, but 700 billion as well.
- 27:07[SPEAKER_16]: You get in a lot for it.
- 27:09[SPEAKER_16]: I don't know what the minerals are, I don't know what's under Greenland, but that's a lot of land.
- 27:16[SPEAKER_16]: Now, not much there.
- 27:18[SPEAKER_16]: In fact, I was talking to somebody today.
- 27:22[SPEAKER_16]: An influential Lewis County person who said he'd love to go to Greenland,
- 27:29[SPEAKER_16]: be their public work superintendent make sure the roads get plowed all about and he's got great experience in plowing roads.
- 27:36[SPEAKER_16]: So there's a lot of people who'd like to go there.
- 27:41[SPEAKER_16]: And then maybe one of their people could be an exchange program, a greenlander could come here and plow the roads and barns corners.
- 27:49[SPEAKER_16]: So these people run around holding up signs probably made for them by George Soros over there.
- 27:53[SPEAKER_16]: We are not for sale.
- 27:54[SPEAKER_16]: Are you out of your mind?
- 27:59[SPEAKER_16]: Right, all of us, and take the money, make it a good offer, like I said, I'd give a citizenship and money, and a chance to move over here, not to water down, or we could spread them around.
- 28:23[SPEAKER_16]: We could take a couple of dozen green landers here.
- 28:26[SPEAKER_16]: They probably work, you know,
- 28:30[SPEAKER_16]: I don't know if they have a lot of people, but I don't know if they have the B.T.
- 28:33[SPEAKER_16]: cards here, I mean Denmark's kind of a socialist state, they probably do, but, uh, oh, you got to, you got to work in an environment like that.
- 28:43[SPEAKER_16]: Now, Trump says they've got two dog sleds defending the whole island.
- 28:49[SPEAKER_16]: That's the role of militaries, they need a little better military.
- 28:55[SPEAKER_16]: Here's the thing that I got over at the waterfront post, it's thinking of setting up a
- 29:00[SPEAKER_16]: with you at the helm.
- 29:03[SPEAKER_16]: Leave some Boston and go to Greenland and back all in five days.
- 29:06[SPEAKER_16]: That'd be an interesting cruise.
- 29:08[SPEAKER_16]: Would that be more interesting to the Jeff Cole Alaska cruise?
- 29:15[SPEAKER_16]: Or would you rather go on the Jeff Graham cruise to Greenland?
- 29:20[SPEAKER_16]: I don't know.
- 29:21[SPEAKER_16]: A couple nights in Newt.
- 29:28[SPEAKER_16]: might not be bad, might not be bad.
- 29:32[SPEAKER_16]: What to see with the prices, probably do it for less than the Jeff Cole Tourer.
- 29:40[SPEAKER_16]: Five days and nights in Greenland, with the host of the hotline, and we'll get somebody else a tractor to go along, we'll get, I'll talk carryin' to go and she'll go.
- 29:52[SPEAKER_16]: If you can wear her various canter to goose jack, it's over there.
- 29:57[SPEAKER_16]: but she's got plenty of, she's got the fashion sense to look good in Greenland.
- 30:03[SPEAKER_16]: So we'll see what happens, I don't know.
- 30:04[SPEAKER_16]: 7-5-5.
- 30:07[SPEAKER_16]: Oh, here's somebody who's kind of nasty watching paintbrush.
- 30:13[SPEAKER_16]: I would be more exciting than a cruise and just go, I don't think that's true.
- 30:17[SPEAKER_16]: That sounds like a lovely cruise.
- 30:19[SPEAKER_16]: It's in August.
- 30:21[SPEAKER_16]: Very pretty up there, those inland passages and all of that.
- 30:28[SPEAKER_16]: But after noon you're on the air.
- 30:31[SPEAKER_15]: Yeah, along with the Society of Expansions, the nuclear power is a bad idea.
- 30:38[SPEAKER_15]: And Mrs. Hockel wants and Mr. Gray wants because it's going to pull out the water more and the radioactive waste fall.
- 30:47[SPEAKER_15]: Mm-hmm.
- 30:47[SPEAKER_15]: Thank you, goodbye.
- 30:48[SPEAKER_16]: All right, thank you.
- 30:49[SPEAKER_16]: Well, there's always going to be nimbee concerns on anything when you mentioned nuclear power.
- 30:54[SPEAKER_16]: But
- 30:56[SPEAKER_16]: I don't know, I'm fascinated by the ideas and like to see us, at least we're talking it up, you know, when he was yesterday, he sent me a picture, he cornered, I shouldn't say, cornered, it sounds a little, but Governor Hokelman was bending her ear about nuclear power, I'm praising her efforts to cooperate him on that, you know, I know, I don't
- 31:20[SPEAKER_16]: Because there's a bunch of idiots who want to hear that, but, you know, the idea of doing something with nuclear power is a good idea.
- 31:28[SPEAKER_16]: But one of those mini-nooks over on marble street.
- 31:32[SPEAKER_16]: Now, there's something like that.
- 31:37[SPEAKER_16]: I have no objection to it.
- 31:40[SPEAKER_16]: None whatsoever.
- 31:42[SPEAKER_16]: Get one small enough.
- 31:43[SPEAKER_16]: You can put it in my parking lot.

- 37:43[UNKNOWN]: I had a long conversation with AI.
- 37:46[UNKNOWN]: Do you know AI?
- 37:47[SPEAKER_16]: Yeah.
- 37:50[SPEAKER_11]: it's not a human, I always start off with the AI said, listen, I'm going to call you Harry and you call me Doug.
- 37:58[SPEAKER_11]: I know you're not a human, but just just for the identification and it says, that's fine with me.
- 38:05[SPEAKER_11]: So, after a long conversation with Harry,
- 38:10[SPEAKER_11]: I, uh, we determined that technology.
- 38:14[SPEAKER_11]: I remember you, you tell me once that cars cost more.
- 38:18[SPEAKER_11]: You pay more for the increase in technology.
- 38:21[UNKNOWN]: Do you remember telling me that?
- 38:23[SPEAKER_16]: Yeah, I'm whatever happened to your GL Metro.
- 38:25[SPEAKER_16]: You were going to give me.
- 38:29[UNKNOWN]: I told you about that.
- 38:31[UNKNOWN]: I don't.
- 38:31[SPEAKER_11]: I'm, I'm going to, I, I had, I gave it to a Ukrainian.
- 38:36[SPEAKER_11]: I am as a reward for the service they gave us to prevent us from the Russians taking us over.
- 38:43[SPEAKER_16]: Oh my god.
- 38:44[UNKNOWN]: Come on, you can't criticize me for that.
- 38:49[SPEAKER_16]: Well, I don't know.
- 38:51[UNKNOWN]: Anyway, anyway.
- 38:52[SPEAKER_16]: You can't, you know, they're hard to find.
- 38:56[SPEAKER_16]: I could probably ask, well, young, you could probably find one.
- 39:02[SPEAKER_11]: left them at least and I left that car with a can of what do you call it?
- 39:08[SPEAKER_11]: The stuff you put in the holes of the car, what is it?
- 39:11[SPEAKER_16]: Bondo?
- 39:12[SPEAKER_11]: Bondo, I had a whole big can of Bondo, I left in there and the guy I sold to calls me up and says, do you want the can of Bondo back and they said he gave it to his kids to fix up and they said, nah, your kids are going to need it to fix up the kids can play with it.
- 39:29[SPEAKER_16]: So, um,
- 39:31[SPEAKER_16]: So what'd you sell it to him for?
- 39:32[SPEAKER_16]: How much?
- 39:36[SPEAKER_11]: I can't disclose that.
- 39:38[UNKNOWN]: You're asking me to have us in the IRS this after me now, you know?
- 39:43[SPEAKER_16]: You don't have to even file it, you're age.
- 39:47[UNKNOWN]: I get money back, right?
- 39:49[SPEAKER_16]: Yeah.
- 39:50[SPEAKER_11]: Yeah, I'm sorry.
- 39:51[SPEAKER_16]: No tax on tips, right?
- 39:53[SPEAKER_11]: Yeah.
- 39:54[SPEAKER_11]: Anyway, what if my point is, is long after a long conversation with Harry, right?
- 40:02[SPEAKER_11]: I realize that technology is increasing the cost of everything so much.
- 40:11[SPEAKER_11]: We don't have enough money to keep pace with it.
- 40:15[SPEAKER_16]: Really?
- 40:17[UNKNOWN]: Did you understand that or did you get that or not?
- 40:20[SPEAKER_16]: No, no.
- 40:23[UNKNOWN]: What?
- 40:23[UNKNOWN]: Okay.
- 40:23[SPEAKER_11]: Look, we have to pay for more for our defense every state, every country that forms.
- 40:32[SPEAKER_11]: What's the first priority for that country?
- 40:36[SPEAKER_11]: To protect itself from outside.
- 40:40[SPEAKER_11]: That's why defense costs so much.
- 40:43[SPEAKER_11]: We have to keep up with the Russians.
- 40:44[SPEAKER_11]: We have to keep up with the Chinese.
- 40:46[SPEAKER_11]: We have to keep up with the South Koreans, the Iranians, and it costs so much to keep ahead of all that.
- 40:53[SPEAKER_11]: So that's where our defense costs so much.
- 40:56[SPEAKER_11]: But it's not only that our defense budget,
- 41:01[SPEAKER_11]: when you look at everything, everything, might, you know, when USDA Department of Agriculture to keep ahead of everything with all the research with all the machinery and everything, we have to keep inventing and investing in it.
- 41:19[UNKNOWN]: Just look at the media, you know, media, right?
- 41:23[SPEAKER_17]: Yeah.
- 41:23[SPEAKER_11]: All the whole media has expanded and how the technology has increased in media, right?
- 41:31[SPEAKER_11]: you know well what happens you have to pay for all that technology is going so much faster now technology is increasing expo mentally and like what is the first thing that would go and you can't pay for something in a whole in a whole uh... governmental budget people services services to people okay you can't stop uh... here you're defense you got a
- 42:02[SPEAKER_11]: Okay, the pressure on health care today.
- 42:05[SPEAKER_16]: I know.
- 42:06[SPEAKER_16]: I know it's a complicated issue.
- 42:07[SPEAKER_16]: I'm just Well, that's the problem, but that's the basic problem.
- 42:12[SPEAKER_16]: We have to spend so if you've been over that restaurant, you're neighbor heard yet the port's late No, I haven't tried that yet.
- 42:19[SPEAKER_16]: Okay.

- 43:07[SPEAKER_16]: We got lots to talk about things going on in the news.
- 43:12[SPEAKER_16]: Yep, anything involving me, you want to talk about, yeah, fly or away, how about the zoo?
- 43:18[SPEAKER_16]: How about the zoo?
- 43:27[SPEAKER_16]: Yep.
- 43:31[SPEAKER_16]: So anyway, what else we got going on here?
- 43:39[SPEAKER_16]: Yeah, the zoo that came up, and then the golf course, no synergism, you know, that's a big word that's used by important people, but they don't know the meaning of it down at 245 Washington, and a real opportunity to create something up there was some synergism.
- 44:00[SPEAKER_16]: Well, can mix runs this, and somebody else runs that, and there's a pool on them.
- 44:08[SPEAKER_16]: But no trash cans.
- 44:09[SPEAKER_16]: Can't have trash cans.
- 44:10[SPEAKER_16]: Nope.
- 44:10[SPEAKER_16]: That's what I have to do right on the air.
- 44:14[SPEAKER_13]: Hey, Jeff, there's whole greenland expansion thing.
- 44:17[SPEAKER_13]: It's got me thinking, what do you think about water town expanding one mile in each direction and capturing all that tax base?
- 44:26[SPEAKER_16]: and this way everybody's taxes go down well i think it would be a wonderful idea very progressive but it isn't a question of just expanding unless we need a military force to do that uh i think it's silly that whole uh latino track and all that nonsense going on i think there's a lot of things silly uh but uh unfortunately we're dealing with boundaries to drawn 200 plus years ago and
- 44:56[SPEAKER_13]: take that it would open up new land and it would capture the businesses that are there lowering the tax space that you have right now there taxes would go down the burden of it because it would start to equalize all those non-for-profits that you got water tile bunched up in right well that's true I guess you know if you've expanded you can you can capture that
- 45:27[SPEAKER_16]: It's a white button when I like it.
- 45:29[SPEAKER_16]: It can't just take land over.
- 45:32[SPEAKER_16]: It's the annexations that complicated proceeding and they aren't going to agree to it.
- 45:37[SPEAKER_16]: So it's unfortunate that the geopolitical boundaries we have don't reflect the current life, but whatever, I don't know.
- 45:48[SPEAKER_13]: Would be interesting, though, because I have heard of like cities or towns are evolving into something else.
- 45:55[SPEAKER_13]: But why not an expansion, and then instead of having, you know, some, what is it?
- 46:02[SPEAKER_13]: 34% non-for-profits with that expansion?
- 46:05[SPEAKER_13]: It would probably drop it down to maybe 20% or even 15% for profits for the city of Watertown, and it would change the whole tax re-economic.
- 46:18[SPEAKER_16]: Okay, well, it's a good idea why don't you bring it up somewhere.
- 46:20[SPEAKER_16]: Other than here.
- 46:24[SPEAKER_16]: All right, thank you.
- 46:25[SPEAKER_16]: Appreciate it very much.
- 46:27[SPEAKER_16]: That's a good idea in theory.
- 46:28[SPEAKER_16]: I'm not knocking yet, but, um... We will see.
- 46:41[SPEAKER_16]: What else we got going on in?
- 46:47[SPEAKER_17]: Well...
- 46:55[SPEAKER_16]: What else to say?
- 46:56[SPEAKER_16]: Talk to about Girl Scout Crookies.
- 46:57[SPEAKER_16]: We talked about Greenland.
- 47:03[SPEAKER_16]: Yeah.
- 47:06[SPEAKER_16]: Maybe we could just see where the school's superintendent's going to have a little.
- 47:10[SPEAKER_16]: What are they calling it?
- 47:12[SPEAKER_16]: Let me look this up.
- 47:15[SPEAKER_16]: This is Larry Schmiegel.
- 47:19[SPEAKER_16]: Yeah.
- 47:21[SPEAKER_16]: Doctor, he and Dr. Jill, right?
- 47:30[SPEAKER_16]: Yeah, the coffee conversations and community, I hate those kind of hokey titles.
- 47:37[SPEAKER_16]: Join us, eight to nine A.M. Tuesday, January 27th, over at the Wiley Building.
- 47:45[SPEAKER_16]: There's a picture of a coffee cup in a croissant.
- 47:53[SPEAKER_16]: I don't know what the superintendents are going to do.
- 47:59[SPEAKER_16]: Who would go to that?
- 48:00[SPEAKER_16]: Millie?
- 48:01[SPEAKER_16]: Millie.
- 48:03[SPEAKER_16]: You going Millie?
- 48:03[SPEAKER_16]: I don't have the police there.
- 48:06[SPEAKER_16]: And after dinner, I'm here.
- 48:07[SPEAKER_13]: You're going to have to know in Jeff a couple of quick things and know you're coming up on a break.
- 48:12[SPEAKER_13]: Do you think we're going to war with Iran?
- 48:14[SPEAKER_13]: No.
- 48:16[SPEAKER_17]: No.
- 48:18[SPEAKER_13]: The other thing is, I see on your blog, you had a cat, I know, to choose a doctor one.
- 48:24[SPEAKER_16]: I do have a cat, yes.
- 48:26[SPEAKER_13]: Oh, good, that's good.
- 48:27[SPEAKER_13]: I wanted to tell you that I've been for 19 years, approximately.
- 48:30[SPEAKER_13]: I've been volunteering and rescuing fear of cats.
- 48:34[SPEAKER_13]: And I've done between 50 and 100.
- 48:36[SPEAKER_13]: Last year, I get 13.
- 48:37[SPEAKER_13]: I have a couple of heated houses outside.
- 48:39[SPEAKER_13]: Okay.
- 48:41[SPEAKER_16]: Well, I good for you, cats, cats appreciate it.
- 48:44[SPEAKER_16]: So do we.
- 48:44[SPEAKER_16]: Hey, listen, I got a run, okay.
- 48:46[SPEAKER_16]: Thanks, my no.
- 48:47[SPEAKER_16]: All right, and somebody has texted in for the question.
- 48:55[SPEAKER_16]: They want in a wise counsel thinking of repairing buildings at the zoo.
- 48:59[SPEAKER_16]: We had a maintenance agreement.
- 49:01[SPEAKER_16]: Yes, but I've never seen got a first five right in the buy a car.
- 49:10[SPEAKER_16]: They wouldn't even have to bring Billy into close the deal.
- 49:12[SPEAKER_16]: I mean, it was.
- 49:13[SPEAKER_16]: They were all over like, oh, I don't know, like a whale on the beach.
- 49:18[SPEAKER_16]: Um, it was incredible to watch that Mr.
- 49:22[SPEAKER_16]: Mix had them in the palm of his hand, the palm I'm telling you, uh, it was incredible.
- 49:27[SPEAKER_16]: Yeah, anything more we could do for you again?
- 49:29[SPEAKER_16]: Yeah.
- 49:30[SPEAKER_16]: Thanks for, thanks for not taking every dollar we have.
- 49:35[SPEAKER_16]: Man, sorry, that was, it was brutal watch.
- 49:42[SPEAKER_16]: should have been decided ahead of time.
- 49:45[SPEAKER_16]: And I just think they missed a big opportunity.
- 49:52[SPEAKER_16]: And after all that work, the mayor put into her plan for reimagining and threw it all in the dumpster.
- 49:59[SPEAKER_16]: Or, you know, a quick resolution on these issues and they're not resolutions at all.
- 50:04[SPEAKER_16]: Not resolutions at all.
- 50:06[SPEAKER_16]: So, but after noon, you're on the air.
- 50:13[SPEAKER_15]: close the zoo.
- 50:14[SPEAKER_15]: We can't afford to do any more in the mayor and the council at the time said they were going to be physically responsible where they ran for their spots and they're not just responsible to taxpayer.
- 50:28[SPEAKER_15]: Thank you.
- 50:29[SPEAKER_15]: I have a good day to everybody.

- 57:27[SPEAKER_16]: I think she should get him.
- 57:31[SPEAKER_16]: They subjected her to that on a political whim.
- 57:33[SPEAKER_16]: One of the things that needs to be proposed is that wherever the derivation was in the charter, whatever, for that process for voting someone off the island.
- 57:44[SPEAKER_16]: That needs to be rewritten or deleted.
- 57:47[SPEAKER_16]: Because now that it's been, it's kind of like impeachment.
- 57:50[SPEAKER_16]: It used to be impeachment, where something you did, like for Andrew Johnson, Nixon, and then all of a sudden the Republicans did it because of Paula Jones or something.
- 58:00[SPEAKER_16]: And then the Democrats started doing it.
- 58:03[SPEAKER_16]: They can't wait to get in power next January so they can pass more articles of impeachment.
- 58:09[SPEAKER_16]: We need to stop this law fair stuff that's going on locally and at the national level.
- 58:15[SPEAKER_16]: Not a good thing.
- 58:16[SPEAKER_16]: And I listen, don't call in and say, well, Trump did it, Trump's done some dumb things too.
- 58:22[SPEAKER_16]: Booting this thing with the Fed Chairman.
- 58:23[SPEAKER_16]: Just let that lie easily.
- 58:24[SPEAKER_16]: He leaves office in May anyway.
- 58:27[SPEAKER_16]: But after noon, you're on the air.
- 58:29[SPEAKER_13]: Hey, uh, yeah, I wonder if they're going to get some kind of like, uh, task force to find out who's stealing all this cattle on here.
- 58:39[SPEAKER_16]: Hooling what?
- 58:41[SPEAKER_13]: Still know the channel.
- 58:42[SPEAKER_16]: I didn't know the recaddle being stolen.
- 58:46[SPEAKER_13]: there's a big big story about in Jefferson County.
- 58:50[SPEAKER_13]: Yeah, and I just like a few.
- 58:53[SPEAKER_13]: There's been a bunch, but yeah, I wonder what they're going to do about that.
- 58:57[SPEAKER_13]: That's a big story that's not being on Channel 5 and or nothing.
- 59:01[SPEAKER_16]: Yeah.
- 59:02[SPEAKER_16]: Well, they don't like those animal things.
- 59:05[SPEAKER_16]: I got to get their shoes dirty if they don't cover them.
- 59:07[SPEAKER_16]: They don't like that.
- 59:08[SPEAKER_13]: Yeah, that's a big crime right there.
- 59:10[SPEAKER_13]: That used to be
- 59:12[SPEAKER_16]: You know, I always said, when I, when I used to work with John Moore, John and I always said the best stories of the ones that walk in the front door, and that's a great thing.
- 59:25[SPEAKER_16]: That's right.
- 59:25[SPEAKER_16]: Okay, well, we'll see what happens, find out about the dog on fire, okay?
- 59:30[UNKNOWN]: Yeah.
