- 0:00Speaker 1: Uh, yeah, so what discombobulated today?
- 0:06Speaker 2: Yeah, it's what are we doing here?
- 0:09Speaker 3: Nothing?
- 0:10Speaker 2: Oh?
- 0:10Speaker 3: Whatever you want?
- 0:11Speaker 1: Oh okay, I think this is the part of the
- 0:14Speaker 1: program where we encourage everyone to watch Alien Earth.
- 0:17Speaker 4: Yeah, oh yeah, I'm mon caught up.
- 0:20Speaker 2: It was. The last two episodes have been especially good.
- 0:24Speaker 3: It's just it's getting better.
- 0:26Speaker 2: There's only two. Laugh.
- 0:29Speaker 4: But I'm if if he wants to be he being
- 0:33Speaker 4: Noah Holly, if he wants to do another season, I'm sure.
- 0:37Speaker 4: And did you say he wanted to do a star trek.
- 0:41Speaker 3: He wanted to do a star trek.
- 0:43Speaker 1: He wanted to explore what it means to be human
- 0:46Speaker 1: because of Data. But his whole take was going to
- 0:51Speaker 1: be not in any established universe, but it was going
- 0:53Speaker 1: to be a synthetic like Data. And I think he
- 0:58Speaker 1: transferred all of those ideas to this.
- 1:00Speaker 2: Yeah, this show.
- 1:02Speaker 4: Yeah, it's a little it's so it's a little confusing
- 1:04Speaker 4: to me. And I had to stop and ask my kid.
- 1:06Speaker 4: So there are there are synthetics. That's the kids, and
- 1:11Speaker 4: then there are cyborgs. That's Morrow's.
- 1:15Speaker 3: He's part robot, part human, part human, part.
- 1:19Speaker 1: Robot parts and uh, and his fist has got a
- 1:24Speaker 1: knife that comes out of it.
- 1:26Speaker 4: And then what's uh? What's uh? Timothy Oliphant?
- 1:31Speaker 1: I think that he is a synthetic that does not
- 1:34Speaker 1: have the human personality, and he's like, you know, he
- 1:39Speaker 1: is what the synthetics will become.
- 1:43Speaker 3: Because this takes place before got your dahlia.
- 1:46Speaker 5: If you could have any tool pop out of your hand.
- 1:48Speaker 3: What would you beer opener, cereal spoon?
- 1:53Speaker 2: Have you?
- 1:54Speaker 3: So when we were in we were in.
- 1:55Speaker 2: San Diego, Phillip screwdriver, uh.
- 1:58Speaker 3: And first can't remember?
- 2:00Speaker 2: Oh, oh, I got Joe a.
- 2:01Speaker 5: Topuchico because he likes the topochico at the convenience store.
- 2:07Speaker 5: And usually there's like a bottle opener in.
- 2:11Speaker 2: The hotel room.
- 2:12Speaker 3: Ye, usually yeah, and there wasn't.
- 2:16Speaker 5: And he said, well I can open it just on
- 2:18Speaker 5: a you know, on.
- 2:20Speaker 2: A on an edge. What happened? No, nothing bad.
- 2:25Speaker 5: There were no sharp edges on the count like everything.
- 2:29Speaker 2: Was rounded like, oh, well that's because going there's.
- 2:34Speaker 5: No sharp edge in here at all where I can
- 2:39Speaker 5: He managed to get it off. I think what he
- 2:40Speaker 5: did is he had a belt that he used the
- 2:43Speaker 5: belt to do it.
- 2:45Speaker 1: Well, who's the comedian that hit his head and died
- 2:47Speaker 1: in his hotel room?
- 2:49Speaker 2: I don't know his head and died.
- 2:51Speaker 1: It was it was about eight or so years ago.
- 2:55Speaker 1: Maybe that's why they're doing rounded edges.
- 2:57Speaker 5: Oh, Bob said, Bob sagat.
- 3:02Speaker 2: You think he was trying to open a.
- 3:04Speaker 1: No, he fell and hit his head on on the
- 3:08Speaker 1: thing and her body was Okay, I'm saying that's why
- 3:11Speaker 1: they're putting round edges in your hotel rooms.
- 3:13Speaker 4: I can tell you from experience, many many years ago.
- 3:16Speaker 4: My youngest child at the time, who's now my middle child,
- 3:22Speaker 4: was I think she was about two, and she was
- 3:25Speaker 4: jumping on the bed in Cedar City.
- 3:26Speaker 2: We were in Cedar City.
- 3:28Speaker 4: And she was jumping on the bed, jumping on the bed,
- 3:30Speaker 4: and then fell somehow and the night stand, the nightstand
- 3:35Speaker 4: that's between the two beds and the yeah, and hit
- 3:38Speaker 4: her lift on the and split it wide open and
- 3:43Speaker 4: we had to take her to the emergency room.
- 3:45Speaker 5: You didn't tell her there's no more monkeys jumping on
- 3:47Speaker 5: the bed. That's why you teach him that song when they're.
- 3:51Speaker 2: We're having fun and jumping on the bed, and then.
- 3:53Speaker 3: You know, we should all wear helmets all the time.
- 3:56Speaker 1: Probably, honestly, I realize how how fragile your noggin, you know,
- 4:03Speaker 1: and there's a lot of important stuff inside of it.
- 4:05Speaker 3: Yep, that needs to be protected.
- 4:07Speaker 4: It's I used to not wear a helmet, and then
- 4:11Speaker 4: I start. Then I started, and I'm glad. I one time,
- 4:13Speaker 4: I was probably the last time I really rode a motorcycle.
- 4:17Speaker 4: I had a little bit of a crash, just unexpected.
- 4:21Speaker 4: It slipped out from under me somehow. I don't even
- 4:23Speaker 4: know what happened. I was not going very fast, ten
- 4:26Speaker 4: miles an hour, and I felt and hit my head
- 4:29Speaker 4: on the pavement. And if I hadn't had the helmet
- 4:34Speaker 4: would not have been good.
- 4:35Speaker 5: No, well no, and even the scooters. People think the
- 4:40Speaker 5: electric scooters.
- 4:41Speaker 2: That well, but they go twenty five miles an hour.
- 4:44Speaker 2: That's fast enough. Yeah you can.
- 4:46Speaker 3: Oh yeah, so you should.
- 4:47Speaker 2: You need to be carrying a helmet with you at
- 4:49Speaker 2: all Carrie's point. Yeah, yeah, just have.
- 4:52Speaker 4: One with you and if you decide you're going to
- 4:54Speaker 4: get on a scooter. I was watching football a little
- 4:58Speaker 4: tiny bit on the weekend and I meant to ask
- 5:00Speaker 4: somebody about this. So there were a couple of people
- 5:03Speaker 4: who had regular football helmets.
- 5:06Speaker 2: This is in the NFL, and then they had this.
- 5:08Speaker 4: Kind of weird thing over the top of it, like
- 5:11Speaker 4: it looked like a cushiony kind of it was an
- 5:14Speaker 4: odd look, like.
- 5:15Speaker 3: A well cap. It's like extra extra.
- 5:21Speaker 4: Over at the top of the regular helmet. It looked,
- 5:24Speaker 4: it looked really it looked dumb. But I think it's
- 5:27Speaker 4: probably a good idea.
- 5:28Speaker 2: But only a.
- 5:29Speaker 4: Couple of people had them, so it's one of those
- 5:32Speaker 4: things that will catch on people.
- 5:33Speaker 3: Who really care about their brain.
- 5:37Speaker 1: So we went from Alien Earth to the importance of
- 5:40Speaker 1: wearing a helmet.
- 5:41Speaker 2: See, that's what happens.
- 5:43Speaker 4: If you're not watching that show, watch it. It's on Hulu.
- 5:47Speaker 4: You like sci fi at all. It's just excellent and
- 5:51Speaker 4: it gets better and better and better and better.
- 5:53Speaker 2: As it goes along.
- 5:56Speaker 4: That sheep, yeah, well that's the sheep is going to
- 5:59Speaker 4: play an important role here, you know. So you know
- 6:02Speaker 4: and you because you know why the sheep has that
- 6:04Speaker 4: weird eye.
- 6:06Speaker 2: Yeah. I'm not going to say anything else.
- 6:10Speaker 3: Sheep, he just stares at you.
- 6:11Speaker 2: Yeah, yeah, yeah,
