- 1:41Speaker 1: recap episode two, Season three House of Dragons titled queens Landing. Then,
- 1:48Speaker 1: first off, just from the title alone that yes, I
- 1:53Speaker 1: love that. I love that.
- 1:54Speaker 3: We've always wanted to see it.
- 1:56Speaker 1: Has it always been called Kingslanding? Has it ever been
- 1:58Speaker 1: called queens Landing?
- 2:00Speaker 3: Oh?
- 2:01Speaker 2: It's like so that's the whole thing with the history
- 2:02Speaker 2: of Westros, right, because it became King's Landing whenever the
- 2:05Speaker 2: original egg on the Conqueror came through and that's where
- 2:08Speaker 2: he landed, that's where he got made his like stand
- 2:11Speaker 2: or whatever. So before I got it like that, the
- 2:13Speaker 2: seven kingdoms like it's closest to like Landisport or whatever,
- 2:16Speaker 2: and like that's kind of the closest next big place.
- 2:20Speaker 2: So they had their own modes of like trade and
- 2:23Speaker 2: trade land landings, and like King's Landing might have been
- 2:26Speaker 2: a place where they might have traded a little bit,
- 2:28Speaker 2: but it wasn't as popular as like Landisport or further
- 2:30Speaker 2: down where the high towers and like what is Marjorie
- 2:33Speaker 2: Tyrols and stuff? Are yeah, so yeah, yeah, I mean
- 2:38Speaker 2: they all had to bend that knee.
- 2:39Speaker 3: So.
- 2:41Speaker 1: Listen Ben the knee. Uh to say the least that
- 2:46Speaker 1: happened this episode. I before we started, I was just like, damn,
- 2:49Speaker 1: where do we start because there's so much. Well, first,
- 2:52Speaker 1: I felt like this episode was deeply grief stricken just
- 2:56Speaker 1: throughout the episode, one for obvious reasons and the others
- 2:59Speaker 1: for like, uh, you know, you made a mistake type reason.
- 3:02Speaker 1: So I mean just the obvious, the fact that that
- 3:06Speaker 1: whole Shenanigan's happened the last episode that I mean, and
- 3:11Speaker 1: it is his fault as well. Shout outs to Reina
- 3:14Speaker 1: for hastening the death, but Jace being taken out, I
- 3:20Speaker 1: say she hastened that death because whether or not, again,
- 3:23Speaker 1: I understand in the books he was gonna go out anyway,
- 3:26Speaker 1: but again it was fifty to fifty hours gonna happen.
- 3:29Speaker 1: Raina just made that one hundred percent and quicker. So
- 3:32Speaker 1: I still got smoked for Raina. I don't care. But
- 3:36Speaker 1: as mentioned, pure deeply deeply grief stricken across the board
- 3:41Speaker 1: on this episode. And of course we start with Raina.
- 3:44Speaker 1: Excuse me, ran Nearer rather finding out that her son
- 3:48Speaker 1: has passed.
- 3:50Speaker 2: Yeah, And I think it's interesting because it's like every
- 3:53Speaker 2: season we get in this niverse, they're doing something that
- 3:56Speaker 2: we may not have seen before. And I guess it's
- 3:59Speaker 2: like also true to HBO itself, Like HBO tends to
- 4:01Speaker 2: put out content that you we may not have seen before,
- 4:05Speaker 2: Like you don't like oh Luvius showed us on television, Okay,
- 4:07Speaker 2: Like HBO is known for doing that, right in this case,
- 4:11Speaker 2: it's like the first time we've ever seen a Targarian
- 4:13Speaker 2: funeral this way, Like have we ever seen them pass
- 4:17Speaker 2: a body across like multiple foots and then just like
- 4:22Speaker 2: bringing like that's the first time I've ever seen them
- 4:25Speaker 2: like treat a body that way, treat like instead of
- 4:29Speaker 2: just like the next scene us being like seeing the
- 4:31Speaker 2: like I know that like in seasons of Game Our
- 4:33Speaker 2: Thrones you would see the bodies in the septs and
- 4:36Speaker 2: like people coming to visit them and like an awake
- 4:38Speaker 2: for intercepts for like earlier seasons of this show, whenever
- 4:44Speaker 2: one of a whenever they bashed in Eggon's kids or whatever,
- 4:47Speaker 2: the one that they caught or whatever, that was a
- 4:50Speaker 2: whole rigamarole.
- 4:51Speaker 3: But it wasn't the same kind of thing that happened here.
- 4:53Speaker 2: So it's like it seems like because possibly because he
- 4:56Speaker 2: was a dragon writer, that the dragon masters were the
- 5:00Speaker 2: one to like bear his body, be his like bears
- 5:03Speaker 2: or whatever. I'm not sure, but it was interesting that
- 5:06Speaker 2: like the whole idea of grief being practiced here was
- 5:10Speaker 2: something that was shown not just initially with his mother,
- 5:13Speaker 2: who's like his closest kin, but with the people who
- 5:18Speaker 2: were like part of the Tigerian dynasty with the dragons
- 5:21Speaker 2: and taking care of the dragons and like training this
- 5:23Speaker 2: boy to be able to ride his dragon, and like they're
- 5:25Speaker 2: the first ones to like bear him where he needs
- 5:28Speaker 2: to go. Yeah, and that and we're not even in
- 5:31Speaker 2: the official funeral yet, right, Like that's just just bringing
- 5:33Speaker 2: him back to his mother, so Rainier could bear witness,
- 5:38Speaker 2: if you will, right, And then Beyla also because I
- 5:41Speaker 2: would imagine she may have a hand in this, like
- 5:43Speaker 2: you know, to to well want obviously go fish him
- 5:45Speaker 2: out the water, but to make sure that she chose
- 5:49Speaker 2: and tells the truth about what happened and what was
- 5:52Speaker 2: so hard to watch about this, like yes, and and
- 5:56Speaker 2: and shout out to DJ Benhami and who's like you know,
- 5:58Speaker 2: everybody's terrible and the show, right, I was like, I.
- 6:01Speaker 1: Agree with everybody's herible. It's also and he would agree
- 6:04Speaker 1: as well. It's also hard to see a mother like
- 6:07Speaker 1: grieve like that, and especially it's like her reaction was real,
- 6:11Speaker 1: the way she was just like, how could you write
- 6:14Speaker 1: like and she's she's basically lamenting the things that she
- 6:18Speaker 1: wanted to say to his face. But now he's gone,
- 6:22Speaker 1: and it's like she's so angry with him because and
- 6:25Speaker 1: it's mostly because she's she's angry with him for several reasons. Right,
- 6:28Speaker 1: She's angry with him about the way he essentially weaponized
- 6:32Speaker 1: patriarchy to do to her what many many men down
- 6:36Speaker 1: the line have always done to her, right and fantilize her,
- 6:41Speaker 1: lock her up literally, you know, or emotionally or physically spiritually,
- 6:46Speaker 1: all that stuff, tell her where she can and cannot
- 6:48Speaker 1: do where she can and kindnot go like Jace perpetuated that.
- 6:52Speaker 1: But also as her child to like openly defy her,
- 6:57Speaker 1: that's one thing, and not justify her life like, oh,
- 7:00Speaker 1: I'm your parent, you gonna do what you say to
- 7:01Speaker 1: fight her in a way that because she wanted to
- 7:03Speaker 1: keep him safe at the end of the day, she
- 7:05Speaker 1: that's still her child, right, she still want to give
- 7:07Speaker 1: him safe. She's and and it's so many layers, right,
- 7:11Speaker 1: and she's the queen, and it's just like and that
- 7:13Speaker 1: goes back to the being the fied part, like how
- 7:15Speaker 1: you gonna tell them the lock of the queen and
- 7:17Speaker 1: then the her the king's her queen's guard whatever you
- 7:21Speaker 1: call him. For him to comply with Jason, like that
- 7:24Speaker 1: was even wild as well. So you know, I found
- 7:28Speaker 1: that approach of how she was grieving Jase of it
- 7:33Speaker 1: was anger, sorrow, like even a little bit of like confusion,
- 7:36Speaker 1: like how could you, how could you in a way
- 7:40Speaker 1: betray her?
- 7:40Speaker 3: Right?
- 7:41Speaker 1: And she used that word a lot too. She was like,
- 7:43Speaker 1: all of y'all betrayed me left and right. Like I
- 7:46Speaker 1: told y'all know, I told y'all east, y'all went west.
- 7:49Speaker 1: I told y'all north, y'all went south. Like nobody's listening.
- 7:52Speaker 1: Nobody's listening to the queen, nobody's listening to the woman,
- 7:55Speaker 1: and to everybody's essentially their dreat from it. So I
- 7:59Speaker 1: just found a lot layers and how she was approaching
- 8:02Speaker 1: the situation and the complexity, the complexity of grief, the
- 8:05Speaker 1: complexity of her emotions and her feelings and how she's
- 8:09Speaker 1: trying to get through all of this and it's tearing
- 8:13Speaker 1: her up. It tears her up, you see that.
- 8:16Speaker 3: Yeah, I feel like it's also I'm very telling because
- 8:19Speaker 3: like and the after a show component, she the actor
- 8:22Speaker 3: mentions that she is.
- 8:26Speaker 2: In like the denial stage of grief or whatever, like
- 8:29Speaker 2: initially like the anger and denial component of it.
- 8:32Speaker 3: And you can see that like being that being her
- 8:35Speaker 3: initial reaction.
- 8:35Speaker 2: But I think that it also like you're saying that
- 8:38Speaker 2: she still had the anger that she was coming at
- 8:40Speaker 2: it with like she I think it really was poignant
- 8:44Speaker 2: that she was still trying to like keep the moment
- 8:48Speaker 2: in her mind where he still might be alive, yep,
- 8:51Speaker 2: real to her for as long as she could play
- 8:54Speaker 2: out my son is still alive for two more seconds
- 8:58Speaker 2: the more if he's just if I can just keep
- 9:01Speaker 2: moving like he's still here, then I don't have to
- 9:05Speaker 2: Like I can see everything around me telling me that
- 9:08Speaker 2: this that.
- 9:09Speaker 3: He's not here anymore.
- 9:10Speaker 2: But I just need this in I need to feel
- 9:13Speaker 2: like he's still alive for for just two more minutes.
- 9:16Speaker 2: I wish that so much more of the universe here,
- 9:22Speaker 2: and I mean, and this is real for true life
- 9:24Speaker 2: right too. But like they, she just doesn't have the
- 9:28Speaker 2: sufficient support system in order for her to be able
- 9:33Speaker 2: to be a real person going through some shit and
- 9:37Speaker 2: also pick up the mantle and be a queen and
- 9:41Speaker 2: people respect her. They weren't even respecting her before she
- 9:44Speaker 2: was grieving from his death, So what is the what
- 9:47Speaker 2: is it going to be like after? And so when
- 9:50Speaker 2: we later on in episode see how she's moving when
- 9:53Speaker 2: she's in Queenslanding, and she seems a little off.
- 9:57Speaker 1: She's super off.
- 9:59Speaker 2: Super emotional, but she seems like she hesitant, She's like
- 10:02Speaker 2: she just she lacks the compulsion. She never lacked the
- 10:06Speaker 2: compulsion to get things done, but the doing of it,
- 10:10Speaker 2: like this whole time, everyone second guessing her has led
- 10:14Speaker 2: to her not being used to.
- 10:16Speaker 3: The action and confidence of just doing the thing.
- 10:20Speaker 2: And so like the grief compounding that, like that is
- 10:25Speaker 2: just it makes for people to like look at her
- 10:28Speaker 2: in judgment rather than like support and like actual assistance.
- 10:34Speaker 2: And so we'll get into I guess at some point,
- 10:36Speaker 2: like the daemon of it all. But yeah, that's yeah,
- 10:39Speaker 2: that's that was what stood out to me the most
- 10:41Speaker 2: about her grief in particular after all this happened.
- 10:45Speaker 1: Yeah, no, absolutely, well said and and like I said,
- 10:47Speaker 1: just just deepening the complexity of what she's going through.
- 10:51Speaker 1: And that's so true, like her just not getting a
- 10:53Speaker 1: chance to execute. Then you finally get a chance to
- 10:55Speaker 1: literally execute, and you can't do it right for multiple reasons.
- 10:59Speaker 1: But you you you're kind of feeling weak to do
- 11:03Speaker 1: stuff like that. So and that's interesting, like again, like
- 11:06Speaker 1: you mentioning just everybody around her, like and and the
- 11:09Speaker 1: failures of everybody around her, right, like especially when the
- 11:14Speaker 1: guard that you know helped jslock her up was like,
- 11:18Speaker 1: oh take my head, and she's like, what good is
- 11:21Speaker 1: that supposed to do? That's like and I love that
- 11:24Speaker 1: because that's how I'd be feeling. I'd be like, don't
- 11:26Speaker 1: come to me after the fact, Like when I needed
- 11:30Speaker 1: you to do what I needed you to do, I
- 11:33Speaker 1: needed you to do it then like now it's too late.
- 11:36Speaker 1: Now the deed has been done. Now there's no bringing
- 11:39Speaker 1: back my son. No, there's nothing you can do to
- 11:43Speaker 1: aswage anything at this point. So I did like that
- 11:46Speaker 1: that she said it to everybody. She was just like,
- 11:48Speaker 1: all your heads is due, but it ain't gonna pay
- 11:51Speaker 1: the price.
- 11:52Speaker 2: It ain't enough Okay, okay, that's a word. All heads
- 11:56Speaker 2: are due, but not enough pay Kendrick, it hain't enough
- 12:04Speaker 2: kick like for me, when Homeboy popped up and he
- 12:07Speaker 2: was like when he first shut up on the screen.
- 12:09Speaker 3: I was like, Sean Evans, what are you doing here?
- 12:11Speaker 1: Like Evan, no, he do? The keys are Dulu like
- 12:15Speaker 1: a little older Sean Evans. You're right, you're right eating
- 12:17Speaker 1: them hot wings.
- 12:18Speaker 3: You right.
- 12:19Speaker 1: I didn't think about that, you know, since you mentioned
- 12:21Speaker 1: him and again this he don't even know what has
- 12:23Speaker 1: happened yet. So this is happening. And then meanwhile in
- 12:26Speaker 1: the riverlands, Damon and and you know the record label
- 12:31Speaker 1: is freestyling ciphers in the marsh because they so damn
- 12:35Speaker 1: happy that, you know they are, especially with the Northmen, right,
- 12:38Speaker 1: the one of the what they call the wolves, with
- 12:40Speaker 1: the old the white Wolves or whatever, the old.
- 12:44Speaker 3: Yeah yeah, yeah.
- 12:46Speaker 1: So he out there chilling, having a you know, cookout,
- 12:50Speaker 1: having a great time, you know, they singing. I was,
- 12:52Speaker 1: I was laughing at the little rhymes that they was
- 12:54Speaker 1: coming up with. I was like, all right, y'all cute.
- 12:56Speaker 1: I know, y'all enjoy yourselves and it was nice to
- 12:59Speaker 1: see like a victory for them because I just I
- 13:02Speaker 1: feel like and even though it's kind of like a
- 13:05Speaker 1: tainted victory, it's still, you know, you gotta count as
- 13:07Speaker 1: a win. I mean, even when Baylor was like the
- 13:10Speaker 1: battles won, I was just like, damn is it? Because
- 13:14Speaker 1: I mean high Tide was that every ship was pretty
- 13:18Speaker 1: much blown up. Every you know, you got bodies flying
- 13:21Speaker 1: in the wind and in the sea, like it's just
- 13:24Speaker 1: you got all this stuff going on, which is full
- 13:26Speaker 1: of grief and full of sadness and full over the thing.
- 13:29Speaker 1: And then Damon and them is, you know, partying like
- 13:31Speaker 1: it's nineteen ninety nine. So I just I it was.
- 13:35Speaker 1: It was kind of funny. But of course he just
- 13:37Speaker 1: didn't know, right, And then once that news was delivered,
- 13:39Speaker 1: he was just like the way Damon be reacting about things,
- 13:43Speaker 1: like he's he's crazy number one, but he's very measured.
- 13:46Speaker 1: He's very measured. He's just like, Okay, this is probably
- 13:49Speaker 1: the worst thing that could have happened now, but we
- 13:51Speaker 1: gotta move, we gotta make it happen. So I do
- 13:54Speaker 1: like that, you know, he locked in immediately was like
- 13:58Speaker 1: all right, y'all, we gotta make moves. We gotta bring her,
- 14:01Speaker 1: you know, we gotta go towards kings Lanny and be
- 14:03Speaker 1: her fish. So I appreciate that.
- 14:05Speaker 3: I feel like that's.
- 14:06Speaker 2: The thing about Damon that everyone like, that's the one thing.
- 14:10Speaker 2: This is saving grace throughout everyone's perspective of him. And
- 14:15Speaker 2: this is true to the books and too, like the
- 14:17Speaker 2: TV show where it's like everyone knows Damon is not
- 14:21Speaker 2: someone you want in power, Like you don't want him
- 14:24Speaker 2: to run anything. He does not move in a way
- 14:29Speaker 2: that is conducive for everyone to get what they need.
- 14:32Speaker 2: He just don't care. He's about himself and in a
- 14:36Speaker 2: way that is not.
- 14:37Speaker 3: Actually useful to people, because.
- 14:38Speaker 2: There's people who are about themselves and is actually useful.
- 14:41Speaker 2: He's not that person. But the exception is when it
- 14:44Speaker 2: comes to any kind of battle, any kind of weaponry,
- 14:47Speaker 2: any kind of anything that's like tactical and like aggression,
- 14:52Speaker 2: Damon's your man. Yeah, don't even worry about it. So
- 14:55Speaker 2: I think that him showing up, I think that's one
- 14:58Speaker 2: of the things that like to Raynier's push for the
- 15:02Speaker 2: throne to need Damon, because if you remember back in
- 15:06Speaker 2: previous seasons, whenever they were first getting the party together,
- 15:10Speaker 2: people are like, well, what's Damon doing, Like it's who's
- 15:12Speaker 2: he's who's he would and because they know how Damon
- 15:16Speaker 2: moves and so and Damon knew that too, and because
- 15:19Speaker 2: but also Damon knew that he needed Raynier and that's
- 15:22Speaker 2: why he roomed her, organized it so that he and
- 15:27Speaker 2: she would be together, because he was like, there's no
- 15:30Speaker 2: way I can get the throne without her, and there's
- 15:32Speaker 2: no way she can get thrown without me.
- 15:33Speaker 3: And so that's how this all set that came to being.
- 15:36Speaker 2: So it's just like we're seeing all the things that
- 15:38Speaker 2: staff the deck play out right now. Yeah, as much
- 15:41Speaker 2: as you know, against our better judgment, we're rooting for
- 15:45Speaker 2: the A lot of us is rooting for black mat everybody.
- 15:48Speaker 2: But like there's so much treachery there right Like again,
- 15:51Speaker 2: I know they've normalized it, but that's how uncle that's
- 15:54Speaker 2: still her uncle and use the correct term groom amongst
- 15:57Speaker 2: other things.
- 15:58Speaker 1: Like all of that is disgusting at.
- 16:00Speaker 3: The end of the day, very vile. Like the way
- 16:04Speaker 3: that the whole family's incestuous is like so like and
- 16:07Speaker 3: I think that's a they try. I think that's the thing.
- 16:10Speaker 2: It's kind of like Dexter, Like Dexter is a murderer,
- 16:14Speaker 2: but he is like killing other bad folks. So then
- 16:18Speaker 2: you kind of like for a quote, good reasons, right,
- 16:22Speaker 2: and then like first off, for a game with them.
- 16:24Speaker 3: It's kind of like, well, noble, noble people for people
- 16:28Speaker 3: are corrupt.
- 16:29Speaker 2: Ultimately, anything that's having to do with monarchy is also corrupt.
- 16:33Speaker 2: So does it really matter that they're also doing these nasty,
- 16:38Speaker 2: vile things Like there, that's who they are, So we're
- 16:40Speaker 2: just you're rooting for people who are Like my main
- 16:45Speaker 2: thing is like, don't ever try to equivocate that level
- 16:49Speaker 2: of like just messed up stuff, crust like corroded, like
- 16:57Speaker 2: sho never be done stuff with like any ordinary thing
- 17:01Speaker 2: that someone does wrong.
- 17:02Speaker 1: Like those are not the same. Hmm okay, well you
- 17:06Speaker 1: know when we talk about keeping it all in the family.
- 17:08Speaker 1: I did really enjoy seeing the blacks come together this episode.
- 17:16Speaker 3: Seeing the blacks and one scene together, I was like.
- 17:19Speaker 1: Look at that, every black person in one scene lifted
- 17:22Speaker 1: my spirits. I'm rooting for everybody black and they all
- 17:24Speaker 1: related and that right again, kind of weird and how
- 17:29Speaker 1: it happened, but hey, here we are. I love the
- 17:33Speaker 1: scene uh, basically the Valarians and the Targarians together, right.
- 17:36Speaker 1: So with the scene where you see the sea snake, Beyla,
- 17:40Speaker 1: Alan and Adam and they're all family like, and I
- 17:44Speaker 1: guess that's the first time that has ever happened. But
- 17:47Speaker 1: too well one having Alan and Adam out there trying
- 17:51Speaker 1: to find their father, right like the father they wouldn't
- 17:54Speaker 1: claim them for all this time, but you know now
- 17:56Speaker 1: that he needs them, you know, they they like this
- 18:00Speaker 1: kind of newfound energy for him. I don't know if
- 18:03Speaker 1: that's because you know, like like you know, they talked
- 18:05Speaker 1: about it how like you know, like Alan had a
- 18:08Speaker 1: great point when he was talking to Bayla about just
- 18:11Speaker 1: her understanding and memories of Corliss, right, and how she
- 18:18Speaker 1: he was saying, like, you know, we aren't me and
- 18:21Speaker 1: me and Adam and Allen aren't just like memories that
- 18:24Speaker 1: Corliss was should have just like try to dissipate and
- 18:28Speaker 1: and put in the backgrounder like we're real people who
- 18:31Speaker 1: were your bastards that you sired, that you never claimed
- 18:35Speaker 1: and you know, now we out here together when you
- 18:39Speaker 1: really need me, and it's just like and I'm fighting
- 18:41Speaker 1: for you, right and I'm still a bastard. So you know,
- 18:44Speaker 1: I like that he had that conversation because at first
- 18:47Speaker 1: I was just like, oh, damn, that's your pappy, like
- 18:49Speaker 1: when they was fighting and he was like father when
- 18:52Speaker 1: his father fell in the ward, I'm like, oh, that's
- 18:54Speaker 1: your that's your pappy. Now, okay, we were good. I
- 18:56Speaker 1: didn't know where that came from or what that was
- 18:58Speaker 1: just in a moment or what.
- 19:00Speaker 2: Yeah, I feel like that's something that's interesting is that
- 19:03Speaker 2: what like Bayla was talking about was the marriage that
- 19:06Speaker 2: he had with her grandmother and Rainie, and like because
- 19:12Speaker 2: Rainy he Correloss the Valerians, the house Valarian came from
- 19:17Speaker 2: the same place that Targerians came from hous. Valerian just
- 19:21Speaker 2: kind of moved to West Roast and integrated with West
- 19:24Speaker 2: ROAs a little bit earlier than the Targarians did.
- 19:28Speaker 3: And so that's why they became like shipwrights. This whole thing,
- 19:30Speaker 3: whatever is happening.
- 19:31Speaker 1: Got it.
- 19:32Speaker 3: So that's why Adam has the blood of the dragon
- 19:37Speaker 3: in him, because that's what the Valerians also were dragon
- 19:40Speaker 3: writers once upon a time or whatever. They're kind of there.
- 19:44Speaker 2: There is a level inter relation with the Targarians because
- 19:47Speaker 2: they were already families that existed and are married with
- 19:50Speaker 2: each other before the canon. West Ros got it, but
- 19:53Speaker 2: they were already dragon writers in their own rights.
- 19:55Speaker 3: They didn't have to be a Targarian to get on
- 19:56Speaker 3: a dragon. So that's why Adam it has like the
- 20:00Speaker 3: ability to do it. And so it's interesting.
- 20:03Speaker 1: That a dragon blood. Right, they're all dragon blood, dragon blood.
- 20:06Speaker 2: It's interesting that Corlis who didn't have a dragon again,
- 20:09Speaker 2: his the Valarians had been around restaurants, talk enough, they
- 20:11Speaker 2: did not maintain dragons. How he made the point to
- 20:15Speaker 2: social clime to marry Raynee and then once married into
- 20:19Speaker 2: the Targarian family. Of course he gets like all these
- 20:22Speaker 2: like gets to get more investment in all his just
- 20:25Speaker 2: and all kinds of stuff. That's why his his treasury
- 20:27Speaker 2: was so big, right, So the whole inheritance thing, him
- 20:33Speaker 2: initially being like, oh, it's going to go to Jace.
- 20:36Speaker 1: Jas being out not He's like, I was going to
- 20:38Speaker 1: go to you, but it's.
- 20:39Speaker 2: Like to to Alan, but it has no value because
- 20:44Speaker 2: it's up in smoke. And I wish, like that's a
- 20:46Speaker 2: that's a nice sentiment to share. I wish I had
- 20:48Speaker 2: more for you when you had more for me.
- 20:51Speaker 3: You wasn't trying to give it to me.
- 20:52Speaker 2: You're trying to give it to your grandson son, even
- 20:56Speaker 2: though the grandma who was going to the one you
- 20:58Speaker 2: were putting on face for whatever around anymore, you were gonna.
- 21:01Speaker 3: Give it to your grandson. But now that it's no
- 21:03Speaker 3: longer here, now you're ready to give it to me.
- 21:07Speaker 3: So I'm interested.
- 21:08Speaker 2: Like that's just like the fact that he's like, it's
- 21:11Speaker 2: sad that he's grateful for it. It's sad that he's
- 21:14Speaker 2: saying that the name is means just as much to
- 21:17Speaker 2: him as the value of an actual inheritance, because that's
- 21:22Speaker 2: it's kind of in a way what his that dynamic
- 21:26Speaker 2: has created and hit them like the feeling that like it's.
- 21:29Speaker 3: Like, just get the bare minimum. It's enough, and it's like, yeah,
- 21:32Speaker 3: you're entitled it so much more.
- 21:34Speaker 1: You really aren't have so much. And we also know
- 21:36Speaker 1: in this world, this Game of Thrones world, how shit is.
- 21:39Speaker 1: Like someone had posted this clip a couple of weeks
- 21:43Speaker 1: ago where it was Alaria Sand where she was like,
- 21:46Speaker 1: I have ten thousand brothers and sisters right like you
- 21:50Speaker 1: have these these kings who sire a million children all
- 21:53Speaker 1: over the place, and they all have the last name
- 21:55Speaker 1: of the lands, you know, I mean John Snow is
- 21:57Speaker 1: one of the most famous ones, right, like just Adam
- 22:00Speaker 1: of the whole, Allan of the whole, Right, those are
- 22:02Speaker 1: their bastard last names, right, So it's yes, he they
- 22:07Speaker 1: are obviously old so much more and also that legitimacy
- 22:12Speaker 1: of being called and taking on the name of the child.
- 22:16Speaker 1: Because what you just said, like Corlis was like why
- 22:18Speaker 1: I got it else to give you? I can give
- 22:19Speaker 1: you my name, and that mattered more to Alan, like
- 22:23Speaker 1: you could tell they always wanted to They they've known
- 22:26Speaker 1: who they were, but to be legitimized like that, it's different.
- 22:31Speaker 2: Even just saying that you say it back to me
- 22:33Speaker 2: and just making me feel like, oh man, there's so
- 22:36Speaker 2: many thoughts Togo.
- 22:36Speaker 1: And then it's like Alan Valerian is basically what he's
- 22:39Speaker 1: gonna be called and basically and then he just mean Alan,
- 22:43Speaker 1: what about Adam?
- 22:46Speaker 2: He's talking to both of them, but like if the
- 22:48Speaker 2: the but they can only have one, like air Air,
- 22:51Speaker 2: so the primary Air is going to be Alan Peter, right,
- 22:54Speaker 2: he's the oldest, and he's also the one who actually
- 22:57Speaker 2: like has been Corlos as like second hand or whatever.
- 23:02Speaker 3: This whole time.
- 23:03Speaker 2: Yeah, so he knows, but he also like secondhand, like
- 23:05Speaker 2: when it comes to like firsthand actually to like actually
- 23:09Speaker 2: take care of like the shipyard and like he knows
- 23:11Speaker 2: what's going on, how to run the ships, who's crew
- 23:13Speaker 2: in the ships. Like he's on top of all of that.
- 23:16Speaker 2: So it's like I knowing what happens with this. It's
- 23:20Speaker 2: a good it's a good thing this happens or whatever.
- 23:22Speaker 2: But it's messed up that.
- 23:26Speaker 3: His lack of relationship with his kids has cultivated a
- 23:28Speaker 3: feeling within them that they just want to be chose.
- 23:32Speaker 3: Like that's very sad.
- 23:34Speaker 1: Mm no, no, you ever is? I mean, look, he
- 23:37Speaker 1: can also teach them how to whip that thing the
- 23:39Speaker 1: way he whipped it through the like a caddy that
- 23:44Speaker 1: that man said, give me the wheel. He could teach
- 23:48Speaker 1: him a little bit of something. No, but you're right,
- 23:51Speaker 1: it is. It is sad and again just it's just
- 23:54Speaker 1: more grief, right, Like it's just another level of grief
- 23:57Speaker 1: and grieving like the the family you never had and
- 24:01Speaker 1: the people you never got to me and you know
- 24:03Speaker 1: again the people like if he was legitimized or treated
- 24:07Speaker 1: properly from the very beginning, like what he could have
- 24:10Speaker 1: been a part of since the very beginning because when
- 24:12Speaker 1: he has that conversation, Alan has that conversation with Bayla,
- 24:16Speaker 1: it's night and day, right. She talks about, Oh, my
- 24:19Speaker 1: grandfather this and and and you know, we would do
- 24:21Speaker 1: this with him and do that with him. She has
- 24:23Speaker 1: all these beautiful memories and Adam was just like, oh,
- 24:27Speaker 1: I got shit.
- 24:28Speaker 3: Like I wish I had some of that. I don't
- 24:30Speaker 3: know if that's like And I also feel like that.
- 24:31Speaker 2: And I mentioned that to last episode about like how
- 24:34Speaker 2: he was like as soon as he saw his grand
- 24:36Speaker 2: babies were in peril, he was like, I'm gonna lead
- 24:38Speaker 2: the danger away from the grand babies, which is like
- 24:41Speaker 2: you would that's what you would think of grandfarens would do.
- 24:44Speaker 3: That's what you do.
- 24:45Speaker 1: That's your blood.
- 24:46Speaker 2: And you know, Alan, Alan, I don don't have that.
- 24:49Speaker 2: They don't have like, oh, like this man, he's been
- 24:51Speaker 2: looking out for me. I can always count on him,
- 24:53Speaker 2: like I can go do me and I know whatever
- 24:56Speaker 2: he's doing, he's making sure I'm.
- 24:58Speaker 3: Okay no matter what I'm doing.
- 24:59Speaker 2: He just they don't don't have that, ye, And I
- 25:01Speaker 2: mean maybe that'll happen now like that we're talking about
- 25:04Speaker 2: the past and we'll see what happens in the future.
- 25:06Speaker 2: But I also think that it's interesting because there's so
- 25:10Speaker 2: many when you talk about like what he could, what
- 25:11Speaker 2: they could build, those relationships that are what's going to
- 25:15Speaker 2: happen next when all the things are over, whenever the
- 25:18Speaker 2: ship's got to get rebuilt, Which relationships is still going
- 25:21Speaker 2: to be standing, Which families and houses will still be around.
- 25:23Speaker 2: Who are they going to be like getting cultivating in
- 25:25Speaker 2: the wood from who are they going to actually be
- 25:27Speaker 2: having those negotiations with?
- 25:29Speaker 3: And Corls has been able.
- 25:30Speaker 2: To do that over time, but and he's been has
- 25:34Speaker 2: he has to have been able to make the decision
- 25:36Speaker 2: to back ray near us cause knowing that whoever he
- 25:40Speaker 2: trades with would be cool with him or whatever, they
- 25:42Speaker 2: still be trading. So we'll see what happens if Alan
- 25:45Speaker 2: is going to be able to take up the mantle
- 25:48Speaker 2: there and those relationships and actually get the house back
- 25:51Speaker 2: in good standing with their a lot of their backing gone.
- 25:55Speaker 3: So we'll see.
- 25:56Speaker 1: M Well, let's talk about the other Bassards on the
- 26:00Speaker 1: other side, on the Targarian side, the dragon seeds, if
- 26:03Speaker 1: you will. I mean, we already spoke about Alan and Adam.
- 26:07Speaker 1: But what's their names? Oh? Or excuse me, there on
- 26:12Speaker 1: the black side too, Yeah, Olf, Hugh, let's just talk
- 26:17Speaker 1: about their their rolling all this as well, and the
- 26:19Speaker 1: fact that well, first they didn't listen to orders, and
- 26:24Speaker 1: Damon came down to them, like, what are y'all niggas
- 26:27Speaker 1: doing here? I love that they didn't they they returned
- 26:33Speaker 1: to Dragonstone right at that point, like like Adadam flew
- 26:37Speaker 1: off with sea smoke, you know, shout out to Laner
- 26:40Speaker 1: having fun over there in the in the lands, flew
- 26:44Speaker 1: off through smoke to go find his father, go help, right,
- 26:47Speaker 1: and now you know, Hugh and off they was weirded
- 26:50Speaker 1: out by the magical island they was on. And then
- 26:54Speaker 1: where Alice Rivers just kind of fucking materialized just to
- 26:59Speaker 1: be like, you know what, it's been two days, vagar
- 27:02Speaker 1: ain't ain't show up. We're gonna just go back home.
- 27:04Speaker 3: I doem was there.
- 27:05Speaker 2: With them, That's mine. That's the whole thing is that
- 27:07Speaker 2: item was there with them. That was the only one
- 27:09Speaker 2: that was like we were told to do X, I'm
- 27:11Speaker 2: here to do X.
- 27:12Speaker 3: They're like, ah, I got spooked. And it was the
- 27:15Speaker 3: main one got spooked. Was all y'all.
- 27:17Speaker 1: Scared about y'all got dragons all tree of y'all.
- 27:20Speaker 2: And so for me all being like so bold when
- 27:25Speaker 2: he was scared and being like we out, like I
- 27:28Speaker 2: don't give a fuck, Like, well, that's no honor, right
- 27:31Speaker 2: because and that's why I hated the fact that he
- 27:33Speaker 2: got like a really big dragon.
- 27:35Speaker 1: I was just like, god, damn, like I've never really
- 27:38Speaker 1: fully trusted him, still don't, but.
- 27:40Speaker 3: He don't trust himself, and that's the problem.
- 27:43Speaker 2: So he him being big and bold to be like
- 27:46Speaker 2: let's go, we out like executive decision, We're out of here.
- 27:50Speaker 2: And then whenever they get in front of Daemon, he's
- 27:52Speaker 2: like yeah, like he tried for two one quick second
- 27:55Speaker 2: he was like yeah, we decided, and then Dan.
- 27:57Speaker 3: Was like, who's we this side?
- 28:01Speaker 1: You have no purpose of thinking. We told you what
- 28:04Speaker 1: to do, just and and and again. Just we go
- 28:07Speaker 1: back to It's this thing that that has been happening
- 28:10Speaker 1: online too, where they're like, Damon without a dragon is
- 28:14Speaker 1: still Damon, Like okay, get rid of the dragon, get
- 28:18Speaker 1: rid of everything else. Damon could be it be hand
- 28:20Speaker 1: to hand, you going down when it comes to Damon,
- 28:23Speaker 1: And it's just like I like that Damon, don't play.
- 28:27Speaker 1: He's like, but I didn't tell you that, or Ray
- 28:30Speaker 1: Nearer your queen, and again it goes back to it's
- 28:33Speaker 1: just so interesting to play on patriarchy and the play
- 28:36Speaker 1: on who gets to think and who gets to make
- 28:38Speaker 1: decisions and all that stuff and nobility. Yes, it's just like,
- 28:44Speaker 1: remember yourself, You're still a bastard. You may have the
- 28:47Speaker 1: dragon blood, you may be here, but you're here by
- 28:49Speaker 1: by because of me, right, And the fact that this
- 28:54Speaker 1: whole fucking war is all family infighting at the end
- 28:57Speaker 1: of the day. So it's just it's just a lot
- 29:00Speaker 1: of like people not fucking listening and doing what the
- 29:03Speaker 1: fuck they want to do, and then you have pretty
- 29:06Speaker 1: much enforcers who are just like, bro, what the fuck
- 29:08Speaker 1: did I tell you? You know, I.
- 29:10Speaker 2: Feel like like that Damon's showing up there, like like
- 29:14Speaker 2: I just feel like this is the arc of Damon
- 29:16Speaker 2: that I was like, Okay, like we needed to see this,
- 29:19Speaker 2: We need to see how he because like it all
- 29:22Speaker 2: seems jovial and fun whenever we're winning battles, but what
- 29:25Speaker 2: is it like whenever you actually need to like freaking
- 29:30Speaker 2: organize and coordinate among like you gotta what is it you.
- 29:34Speaker 3: Have to herd cats? What is it like when you
- 29:37Speaker 3: actually have to heard the cats?
- 29:39Speaker 2: And so like we've seen him do that like on
- 29:42Speaker 2: the field, but when it comes like to the politic
- 29:45Speaker 2: or whatever part of it, it's kind of like, can
- 29:48Speaker 2: damon do that? And it's like, as long as the
- 29:50Speaker 2: politic is get your butt in place for this formation,
- 29:54Speaker 2: he's never he's not gonna.
- 29:55Speaker 1: Play like he's not a politician. He don't have the
- 29:58Speaker 1: patient nor the personality for that.
- 30:01Speaker 2: To do any of that. But again, that's not what's
- 30:04Speaker 2: needed right now and this moment. What is needed is
- 30:07Speaker 2: we need to make this play. This play this play.
- 30:08Speaker 2: This is how we're going to do it. This is
- 30:09Speaker 2: the strategy, and get yourself in place to do it.
- 30:11Speaker 2: Did I tell you not to do this? I didn't,
- 30:13Speaker 2: So where are you? Like, that's what's needed? So I
- 30:16Speaker 2: think that's that. That's the energy that he gave them.
- 30:19Speaker 2: That's kind of the energy he gave Rainnierra. But he
- 30:21Speaker 2: did it and at least a bit more.
- 30:23Speaker 3: Measured to what she needed in a moment like right
- 30:26Speaker 3: he's never going to be supportive in the way that
- 30:29Speaker 3: she actually needs like a moment like let's think through like,
- 30:33Speaker 3: what do you want to do next? Let's give you
- 30:35Speaker 3: a moment to actually breathe, Like, you can't do that
- 30:38Speaker 3: right now because you're queen. But let's let's plan to
- 30:40Speaker 3: when can you do that. He's not there, but he
- 30:43Speaker 3: is on some we got to use some stuff done
- 30:46Speaker 3: on which you the whole time. Let's go.
- 30:49Speaker 1: Yeah, Like I said, I just liked how he really
- 30:51Speaker 1: locked in this episode and really like made it a
- 30:55Speaker 1: point not to at least probably like undermine her. Yeah,
- 30:58Speaker 1: like k then again, just complete difference from what happened
- 31:02Speaker 1: last episode, and he.
- 31:03Speaker 2: Wasn't even there to like I think to be to
- 31:06Speaker 2: be fair, like not to give Damon too much because
- 31:09Speaker 2: he give him a little bit too much and he's
- 31:10Speaker 2: gonna do some crazy next episode. But I think after
- 31:14Speaker 2: he messed up with the whole situation where he had
- 31:19Speaker 2: them kill the wrong kid in King's Landing and was
- 31:22Speaker 2: reprimanded for that, I think that his exile stuff outsides
- 31:28Speaker 2: to Hair and Hall was enough distance for him to
- 31:33Speaker 2: come to terms with the fact that like, nah, I
- 31:35Speaker 2: need to stay where in my lane, I need to
- 31:38Speaker 2: not do too much over there, And I think that
- 31:41Speaker 2: was enough for him to recognize too that his actions
- 31:46Speaker 2: mess up his cause because he under whenever it does
- 31:49Speaker 2: undermine right near us, So he's more conscious of the
- 31:51Speaker 2: fact of like whenever he's doing it. So he may
- 31:55Speaker 2: not have been around to know all the circumstances around
- 31:58Speaker 2: how she was undermined for used to get in the field,
- 32:01Speaker 2: but he does know he didn't learn from the last
- 32:05Speaker 2: time you messed up.
- 32:06Speaker 3: Like, I'm not going to do that. I'm gonna try
- 32:09Speaker 3: to like work with what she where she is, and
- 32:11Speaker 3: we're gonna figure this out together. I can't just come
- 32:13Speaker 3: in here and bogart the whole thing.
- 32:15Speaker 1: Like that's no, I get you. Before we move on
- 32:19Speaker 1: to the greens, I just gotta talk about Raina.
- 32:25Speaker 3: Before we get okay, before the greens. But okay, yeah,
- 32:29Speaker 3: we do need to get agree.
- 32:30Speaker 1: But before we move on to the greens, we gotta
- 32:32Speaker 1: we gotta keep on this side of the family. Oh listen, y'all. Like,
- 32:38Speaker 1: I know a lot of people agree with me, A
- 32:39Speaker 1: lot of people disagree with me when I was blaming
- 32:41Speaker 1: rain up for everything I still do, but I also
- 32:45Speaker 1: blame Jays heavily as well. And to be clear, the
- 32:48Speaker 1: kids was wilding. All the kids was wilding, like y'all
- 32:51Speaker 1: may bee, you know, they love Jace. Y'all may be
- 32:55Speaker 1: trained and in this life, but y'all not, y'all not
- 32:58Speaker 1: as seasons as y'all think. And Raina, what the hell
- 33:02Speaker 1: was you thinking? Because you wasn't thinking and for her
- 33:05Speaker 1: to know just how fucked up things are to the
- 33:10Speaker 1: point where she tries to go back to the veil,
- 33:12Speaker 1: like she pulls up on what's her name, Jen, Jane,
- 33:16Speaker 1: I don't know how to pronounce your name, Jane Aaron
- 33:18Speaker 1: Jen over there, help me, help me, please, nigga help me,
- 33:23Speaker 1: And Jane understandably is like, bitch, why are you here?
- 33:27Speaker 1: You caused so much strife, Like it's so funny though
- 33:32Speaker 1: how fast word travels to in West Groos, which again
- 33:35Speaker 1: it just from.
- 33:35Speaker 3: She's enough, But like, I don't think she knows how
- 33:38Speaker 3: what happened in the gullet, that that was the You
- 33:40Speaker 3: know what I'm saying, she doesn't know.
- 33:42Speaker 1: She didn't I swear she said Jace or she said
- 33:46Speaker 1: something about Jace dying.
- 33:47Speaker 3: Yes, what I'm saying is she didn't know that. Nobody
- 33:51Speaker 3: knows that the Dragon writer.
- 33:52Speaker 1: No, no, no, no, that's what I know. I know that.
- 33:54Speaker 1: But the fact that she knew that Jay's passed or
- 33:59Speaker 1: you know whatever, and then here comes homegirl running with
- 34:02Speaker 1: a dragon. You can kind of kind of put two
- 34:04Speaker 1: or two together with how exactly what happened? I mean
- 34:08Speaker 1: literally freaking Raina like like snitched on herself. She dries
- 34:12Speaker 1: snitch on herself, just like, oh I need I need,
- 34:14Speaker 1: I need what it's called asilum, basically I need asylum.
- 34:18Speaker 1: And understandably, Jayme's like, hell no, not my castle, not
- 34:22Speaker 1: in myhood.
- 34:23Speaker 3: She said, You're supposed to be on a boats pintost
- 34:26Speaker 3: with the boys.
- 34:27Speaker 1: Remember remember Raina was supposed to take them dragon A's
- 34:30Speaker 1: and them babies and get the hell out and hold
- 34:34Speaker 1: down the bloodline. That was her job.
- 34:37Speaker 3: Does what she was trusted to do, that what you
- 34:39Speaker 3: was trusted to do.
- 34:40Speaker 1: And I know she felt like, oh, well I want
- 34:43Speaker 1: to be fighting. Oh I want the machine gun too,
- 34:46Speaker 1: And no, you have a very important task, whether you
- 34:49Speaker 1: realize it or not. And again that's why I went
- 34:51Speaker 1: back when I was yelling about her last week, when
- 34:55Speaker 1: I was talking about the frontal lobe not being fully developed,
- 34:57Speaker 1: like y'all don't be thinking about future, y'all gonna be
- 35:01Speaker 1: thinking about like you only see what's right in front
- 35:03Speaker 1: of you, like, well, why would you relegate me to
- 35:06Speaker 1: this a babysitter. You are making sure that our bloodline remains,
- 35:12Speaker 1: that we can continue on if the worst happens. And
- 35:16Speaker 1: not only that that these eggs CONCUTU and we know
- 35:18Speaker 1: what happens up happening with the eggs, you know, within
- 35:20Speaker 1: a game with j on story. But still like it was,
- 35:23Speaker 1: it was just she's young, but she's not that young too,
- 35:27Speaker 1: So I was just like, I get it that foresight
- 35:30Speaker 1: is not there. I get it.
- 35:31Speaker 3: But here's the thing too, I think, and I don't
- 35:33Speaker 3: know if it's again, I just because it's the story
- 35:36Speaker 3: to me is just so.
- 35:37Speaker 1: And I know it's not supposed to be Raina that
- 35:39Speaker 1: all of this has happened to. It's supposed to be
- 35:42Speaker 1: it's supposed to be Nettles, right like this, but Nettles
- 35:46Speaker 1: is not doesn't fuck up anyways, Sorry as far as
- 35:49Speaker 1: I hers, and and and to be clear because for
- 35:51Speaker 1: those like who are listening, are like, who's Nettles from
- 35:54Speaker 1: the books?
- 35:55Speaker 3: The best one I keep talking about.
- 35:57Speaker 1: Right, that's the one that Portion was talking about in
- 35:59Speaker 1: the books. Raina was never there. It was actually this
- 36:02Speaker 1: character called Nettles, and Nettles gets cheap stiller and actually helps,
- 36:06Speaker 1: like actually help now the whole j S. Things still
- 36:08Speaker 1: happens in a different way, but it still happens. But
- 36:11Speaker 1: that's not the point. The point is it's a positive
- 36:14Speaker 1: you know, infusion of sheep steala not you know, you know,
- 36:18Speaker 1: a wider stiller like it's crazy, but continue.
- 36:21Speaker 2: Sorry, yeah for me, those stories whatever, I think.
- 36:26Speaker 3: For me, I just somethime I recognize. And I'm not even.
- 36:33Speaker 2: Because I don't think that the only time that like
- 36:36Speaker 2: penalizing someone for their actions is whenever they actually like
- 36:42Speaker 2: boldly did something that they are not punishing themselves from
- 36:47Speaker 2: actively as well, they're just like no remorse, I just
- 36:49Speaker 2: wouldn't err.
- 36:50Speaker 1: So you think doesn't that she has remorse that she
- 36:54Speaker 1: shouldn't be blamed.
- 36:55Speaker 3: I'm not saying she shouldn't be blamed.
- 36:56Speaker 2: I'm saying that like lumping me as a person, I'm
- 36:59Speaker 2: not gonna lump more stuff on you when I can
- 37:01Speaker 2: already see.
- 37:02Speaker 3: That you're in this like spiral of like like nothing
- 37:07Speaker 3: like you you don't even got it girl, Like you
- 37:10Speaker 3: don't have it.
- 37:11Speaker 2: So for me and then like where I'm like when
- 37:13Speaker 2: you're saying when we talk about the whole situation of
- 37:15Speaker 2: like how she how she got here in the first place, how.
- 37:18Speaker 3: She was like sometimes some people.
- 37:21Speaker 2: Sometimes people see you and you don't like what they
- 37:24Speaker 2: refly back to you. Okay, sometimes people see you and
- 37:26Speaker 2: they say, look, you don't have a dragon. That is,
- 37:33Speaker 2: your dragon has an egg, hasn't hatched you have, you
- 37:35Speaker 2: don't have a dragon. And because you are not a
- 37:41Speaker 2: dragon writer like these other other kids are, that's why
- 37:45Speaker 2: we're keeping them around. But you are old enough to
- 37:48Speaker 2: have agency and be able to speak up for some
- 37:51Speaker 2: whenever stuff goes awry. We need you to be that
- 37:56Speaker 2: person to speak up for these two little kids who
- 37:59Speaker 2: cannot do that. We trust that you know.
- 38:01Speaker 3: The targaring ways. You're brought up as a Targaran, you
- 38:04Speaker 3: know all the stuff.
- 38:05Speaker 2: We need you to lock in and make sure these
- 38:08Speaker 2: kids travel. Okay, we need you to take on that
- 38:11Speaker 2: as your responsibility.
- 38:13Speaker 3: She not sure we're in war.
- 38:17Speaker 2: People can't always take the moment and speak to someone
- 38:21Speaker 2: in a way that they're going to better pick that up.
- 38:23Speaker 2: But at the same time, if someone had come at
- 38:26Speaker 2: her that way, she might have been in a different place.
- 38:29Speaker 2: Because I think what's happened is that she kept hearing
- 38:32Speaker 2: you're not a dragon writer, so you don't belong here,
- 38:35Speaker 2: when what she actually was being said is for the
- 38:38Speaker 2: immediacy of war, we need people who can war. You
- 38:42Speaker 2: can't war. We need you to go do the things
- 38:45Speaker 2: that we can't do when we're all on war. Please
- 38:48Speaker 2: go take care of the peacetime things before we can
- 38:50Speaker 2: get to peace time. She did not see that as
- 38:53Speaker 2: a responsibility that she could take on. It was actually,
- 38:58Speaker 2: like you were saying, like a legacy kind of thing,
- 39:00Speaker 2: because like legacy is hard to make present, right, but
- 39:05Speaker 2: if you can, And she had been presented to her like,
- 39:08Speaker 2: we need you to be that person who speaks up
- 39:12Speaker 2: for the people who are voices.
- 39:13Speaker 3: That gives her a cause. She was looking for a
- 39:15Speaker 3: cause this whole time. The cause that she's.
- 39:17Speaker 2: Been presented was war, and the reason why she couldn't
- 39:20Speaker 2: be part of that cause is because she didn't have
- 39:22Speaker 2: a dragon. She's thinking, I'm gonna put X and Y
- 39:24Speaker 2: together and become part of this cause, when actually she
- 39:29Speaker 2: like so it's like kind of like a mix between.
- 39:31Speaker 3: She didn't like the way she was being shown.
- 39:35Speaker 2: Back to herself, like what her actual abilities were, and
- 39:39Speaker 2: she tried to change the story on what her actual
- 39:42Speaker 2: abilities were, but it all came.
- 39:43Speaker 3: To blow up in her face.
- 39:46Speaker 1: You're absolutely right, Portia, and I have no notes on
- 39:49Speaker 1: everything you said. At the same time, Raina, you are
- 39:56Speaker 1: not bigger than a program. You are not bigger than
- 39:59Speaker 1: a par And Jane said the same thing. She said,
- 40:02Speaker 1: why the fuck are you in my home? Why would
- 40:06Speaker 1: you bring the Hyan dragon here? You know what you
- 40:11Speaker 1: was a part of? And rain N'era the minute and
- 40:15Speaker 1: she and and by the time Jane no, she know Rayniera. No,
- 40:18Speaker 1: she said, Ranera is coming for you. And Rainia don't
- 40:23Speaker 1: know who the dragon Rid was yet, so we don't
- 40:25Speaker 1: know what she's gonna do, but we know she ain't
- 40:27Speaker 1: gonna be happy, she says. And anyone that helps you
- 40:31Speaker 1: Raniera is coming from get out of my house.
- 40:35Speaker 3: Yeah, understandably.
- 40:38Speaker 1: What would I help you? Right now? You gonna help
- 40:40Speaker 1: me up? And then here come Rena again. You not thinking,
- 40:46Speaker 1: Oh my goodness, this is why I be getting so upset.
- 40:50Speaker 1: You're not thinking, well, I promised you a dragon, Jamee.
- 40:55Speaker 1: I'm so happy Jane didn't take the bait. Jane looked
- 40:57Speaker 1: at her and said, betch what a dragon I supposed
- 41:00Speaker 1: to do when you got Raniera coming at men a
- 41:05Speaker 1: dragon A why one at that? Jane said, hell no,
- 41:09Speaker 1: she said, she said, I can't do shit about a dragon,
- 41:12Speaker 1: right if the dragon decided that want to live here
- 41:14Speaker 1: and got shit to do with me, but your ass
- 41:16Speaker 1: gotta go. And that's why I said. I just kept
- 41:20Speaker 1: pointing at the screen like this is what I was
- 41:22Speaker 1: saying last week, Like you are right, mister p absolutely
- 41:28Speaker 1: right about everything you said from a very intellectual, emotional
- 41:32Speaker 1: therapeutic level. At the same time, we ain't got time
- 41:36Speaker 1: for that.
- 41:38Speaker 2: But Jane, in a way, Jane is also like think
- 41:41Speaker 2: consider Jane's perspective of also Raniera is in her debt already,
- 41:47Speaker 2: She's her framing was also the queen owes me, and
- 41:52Speaker 2: you're coming up here asking for more from me. I'm
- 41:54Speaker 2: already I've already in debt to someone who's actually powerful.
- 41:57Speaker 2: I'm not trying to mess with someone who actually is
- 41:59Speaker 2: going to be in Like it would be more expedient
- 42:03Speaker 2: for me politically for me to just give you to her.
- 42:06Speaker 3: Why would I do that?
- 42:07Speaker 2: So like there's layers of that, but also like as
- 42:09Speaker 2: an adult talking to a kid. Jane really went about
- 42:12Speaker 2: that crazy and like that's the way that she, like Raina,
- 42:18Speaker 2: has been treated this whole time, and it just it
- 42:20Speaker 2: just compounds.
- 42:21Speaker 3: Like we've talked about.
- 42:22Speaker 2: How Otto who was not a good parent, Alison's not
- 42:25Speaker 2: a good parent, but Sterius was not a good parent.
- 42:27Speaker 1: By these niggas ain't good parents.
- 42:29Speaker 3: Like none, no, no, none of these people just because
- 42:31Speaker 3: they got the means and resources makes them a person
- 42:34Speaker 3: that's actually someone who should be any kind of level
- 42:37Speaker 3: of guardianship over young and impressionable minds because they it's
- 42:41Speaker 3: all messed up.
- 42:42Speaker 2: And like so Rainiera is a creature of her environment,
- 42:45Speaker 2: from her immediate family into all of the interactions she's
- 42:50Speaker 2: had with adults this whole time.
- 42:51Speaker 3: It's Raina the whole thing, Reina.
- 42:55Speaker 1: Yeah, okay, okay, okay, I just had to say that point.
- 43:01Speaker 1: We gotta get to the greens.
- 43:02Speaker 3: Yeah, because Allison and her decisions, because like here's the thing, Alis.
- 43:09Speaker 1: Said, I so bad. I really I did legitimately feel
- 43:12Speaker 1: bad for her this episode. And I know I always
- 43:15Speaker 1: got smoke for Alice in every episode. And yes, she
- 43:17Speaker 1: a lot of the stuff is of her own making.
- 43:19Speaker 1: Everyone goes through this, but she actually was trying to
- 43:23Speaker 1: keep her word against all odds, against everybody wanted to
- 43:28Speaker 1: do their own thing. She will keep her word to
- 43:31Speaker 1: ring near her I'm talking about. Yeah, she actually did
- 43:35Speaker 1: the work.
- 43:37Speaker 3: Why do you feel bad for her.
- 43:39Speaker 1: Because of what the men, not all men, but always
- 43:43Speaker 1: a man try to do to her? What several men?
- 43:45Speaker 3: Oh? Okay, And that's okay.
- 43:47Speaker 2: And that's why I made the point that I said
- 43:49Speaker 2: earlier today, earlier about we tend to see different new
- 43:53Speaker 2: things in each like season.
- 43:57Speaker 3: Of Gamer Thrones or HBO whatever. Yeah, but not when
- 44:01Speaker 3: it comes to sexual violence. And I'm tired.
- 44:06Speaker 1: I'm tired girl.
- 44:07Speaker 2: And I've mentioned this before and I'm gonna mention it
- 44:10Speaker 2: again because that's my whole thing here. This does not
- 44:13Speaker 2: happen in the books. This is not so it is
- 44:16Speaker 2: just gratuitous. So carry in the books it would still
- 44:19Speaker 2: be gratuitous. You don't have to do this stuff. So
- 44:23Speaker 2: what like, what was the reason?
- 44:25Speaker 1: So you're saying the situation with Master Master Faster Wild
- 44:30Speaker 1: that didn't happen in the books. No, at least it
- 44:33Speaker 1: was an odd What was the reason?
- 44:35Speaker 3: Right? What was the reason?
- 44:37Speaker 1: Asked Sarah has who wrote wrote this episode or Claire Kilner,
- 44:41Speaker 1: who directed the episode.
- 44:43Speaker 3: What was the.
- 44:43Speaker 2: Reason we know that the men in this world have
- 44:50Speaker 2: been lusting over children and following them their until their
- 44:57Speaker 2: whole lives to have this make that blatantly clear in
- 45:02Speaker 2: his discussion with her and then force himself on her
- 45:08Speaker 2: like and then she is at the mercy of his
- 45:14Speaker 2: word versus hers.
- 45:16Speaker 3: Right, and faminess the master.
- 45:20Speaker 1: Or on.
- 45:21Speaker 2: He's on some bullshit, but not that bullshit, Thank goodness
- 45:24Speaker 2: for that.
- 45:25Speaker 1: That Like, not only was that scene so like what
- 45:28Speaker 1: I said about feeling bad for her, but it's just
- 45:30Speaker 1: like it also just made me angry because I'm just like,
- 45:32Speaker 1: why does this have to be this way? And to
- 45:34Speaker 1: your very point, and it's very indicative of real life, right,
- 45:37Speaker 1: It's just like my word versus hers and the fact
- 45:40Speaker 1: that yeah, like you said, or while be on that bullshit,
- 45:43Speaker 1: but this time was actually seeing what he saw what occurs.
- 45:47Speaker 1: But it's just like, so unless you see it for
- 45:49Speaker 1: your own eyes, if you did it, you would have
- 45:51Speaker 1: potentially just believed the mass of the laws. Right, the
- 45:55Speaker 1: sergeant or whatever the fuck he is in that world,
- 45:58Speaker 1: and he wasn't even.
- 45:58Speaker 3: Fully denying it. That's what made it worse.
- 46:00Speaker 2: Season really fully don he was just saying, she's a trader.
- 46:03Speaker 2: I can do what every thought I want to do.
- 46:05Speaker 1: Right, And that's what and that's the that's the other problem,
- 46:07Speaker 1: just like, oh, I found out some function about her,
- 46:10Speaker 1: so I'm going to do this to her, like I'm
- 46:13Speaker 1: gonna rape her. Like that doesn't give you license to
- 46:17Speaker 1: do that. And we could argue about what happens in
- 46:20Speaker 1: this particular world the story world is fandom whatever, but
- 46:23Speaker 1: it's just it was just so extra and egregious and
- 46:28Speaker 1: I just it had no rhyme or reason. And I'm
- 46:31Speaker 1: not saying it ever has rhyme or reason. I'm saying,
- 46:33Speaker 1: like why in this particular case, just to show how
- 46:37Speaker 1: vile Jasper is, like who has.
- 46:40Speaker 3: Never been relevant this whole time?
- 46:42Speaker 1: So like that, why like why are we doing this?
- 46:46Speaker 1: And again not all men, but always a man. I
- 46:50Speaker 1: just it really, it really it bothered me to no level.
- 46:54Speaker 1: And then I really again, I'm really glad you mentioned that,
- 46:56Speaker 1: just that whole interaction, like cause for a second it
- 46:58Speaker 1: looked like they was looking Alison like, oh, yeah, this
- 47:02Speaker 1: is on you, like you're the Jezebel and you're the
- 47:04Speaker 1: you know, you're the Tarpie that has you know, come
- 47:08Speaker 1: in and caused all of this even though she was
- 47:11Speaker 1: running around.
- 47:13Speaker 3: But that's the whole thing too. It's like the he
- 47:16Speaker 3: was in this is this is how schemey and like
- 47:19Speaker 3: trifling and you know, you know now that I'm like,
- 47:22Speaker 3: now that I'm thinking about it, maybe I have the
- 47:24Speaker 3: answer for wives is happening. It's still not a good answer,
- 47:26Speaker 3: but I can see this being your answer.
- 47:29Speaker 2: We end the episode with the og man in her
- 47:33Speaker 2: life who shaped and shifted who she is in this
- 47:38Speaker 2: present moment. I don't high Tower and what happened for
- 47:43Speaker 2: her to get in the situation with Jasper was that
- 47:47Speaker 2: she knew who she could trust to be around her
- 47:51Speaker 2: as she's making her moves, and she used she could
- 47:53Speaker 2: not trust the King's guard who is assigned to her.
- 47:58Speaker 3: Was his name is Rick to something regard whatever he like?
- 48:05Speaker 1: He is large, isn't it large margin?
- 48:08Speaker 3: Yes?
- 48:08Speaker 2: Yes, because I get similar to the name for the
- 48:11Speaker 2: city watch guy, and that's why my brain is yeah,
- 48:15Speaker 2: that's the other that he's just like large.
- 48:16Speaker 3: Something too, So it's like that mixed them up.
- 48:18Speaker 2: But anyways, he saw her going up the stairs and
- 48:23Speaker 2: he was like, hey, I haven't seen you all day?
- 48:24Speaker 2: Where you've been And she was like, I've been doing stuff.
- 48:28Speaker 2: He was like, well, you know that's trans supposed to
- 48:29Speaker 2: be out of my like protection. I should be I
- 48:32Speaker 2: should be with you. She was like, actually, I do
- 48:36Speaker 2: need your protection. Go check on a small council room
- 48:39Speaker 2: aboutstead of a meeting. I need you to secure that area.
- 48:42Speaker 2: And he's like and she's like, no, no, no, go
- 48:45Speaker 2: secure the area. So the first thing that Jasper says
- 48:49Speaker 2: to her is that homeboy told me that when she's
- 48:54Speaker 2: been up to and now I'm here, so you can't
- 48:58Speaker 2: tell me that the freaking Kingsguard captain did not know
- 49:04Speaker 2: that she that Jasper had designs on Alison.
- 49:09Speaker 3: He knew how closely this man isn't following what Alison's
- 49:12Speaker 3: been up to because he knew.
- 49:13Speaker 2: The first person to go talk to about it was Jasper,
- 49:18Speaker 2: So why would he do the master He didn't talk
- 49:20Speaker 2: to anybody else in the small council. He went straight
- 49:22Speaker 2: to Jasper, So why would he do that because he's
- 49:25Speaker 2: not he's not fucking with Alison because he doesn't think
- 49:28Speaker 2: that a woman she were doing all this stuff, she's.
- 49:29Speaker 1: Doing well because of Alison. They opened up the city
- 49:34Speaker 1: for her. Everybody laid down, everybody bent the knee, well
- 49:38Speaker 1: most people, right, But it's.
- 49:40Speaker 3: Not it's not like Allison, but this is against soft power.
- 49:42Speaker 2: It's not like Alison actively went into everybody, y'all need
- 49:45Speaker 2: to lay down your arms.
- 49:47Speaker 3: Well she did only but only the Maine mainly.
- 49:51Speaker 2: Yeah, she didn't tell the people in King's Landing. She
- 49:54Speaker 2: didn't like, she didn't tell we want to castle what
- 49:56Speaker 2: to do or whatever. She just went to the people
- 49:58Speaker 2: who like the would you have the weapons, you have the.
- 50:01Speaker 3: Square, the people who marry you.
- 50:05Speaker 1: But that's all you need to talk about. Like the
- 50:07Speaker 1: NPC's gonna do what they need to do, right and
- 50:10Speaker 1: and and also like I call them NPCs, But again,
- 50:13Speaker 1: it reminds me of something else that that been on
- 50:15Speaker 1: the often says like the fact that like you got
- 50:18Speaker 1: this big war happening, and then you just got the
- 50:20Speaker 1: common folk just caught up in between all this bullshit
- 50:23Speaker 1: and you as you saw, you got like you saw
- 50:25Speaker 1: it all over right, and especially in Kingsland, and when
- 50:27Speaker 1: them dragons when old and them started flying over heavy
- 50:30Speaker 1: right near and it's just sheer terror because it's just like,
- 50:33Speaker 1: oh my god, they bought their bullshit here the target
- 50:36Speaker 1: areas bought their bullshit to my home right like, and
- 50:40Speaker 1: they have nowhere to go, like people some people running
- 50:42Speaker 1: back in their home. I said, you did because your
- 50:44Speaker 1: ship going up in flames. People trying to run out
- 50:47Speaker 1: and leave the city ain't nowhere to like where you're
- 50:49Speaker 1: gonna end up. Like it's like, as an NPC, why
- 50:53Speaker 1: do I have to go through this? Like why do
- 50:56Speaker 1: I Why can't I have peace too? You know, it's
- 50:58Speaker 1: it's just and and I'm you know, I'm wearing the shirt.
- 51:01Speaker 1: But like when we watch you know, I called the
- 51:05Speaker 1: Duncan Eggs show, you got to see everything from their perspective.
- 51:08Speaker 1: So I did appreciate, you know, like you said, the
- 51:11Speaker 1: city opening up for rnering them, but also how it
- 51:13Speaker 1: affects and mentally affects these people who was in the street,
- 51:16Speaker 1: because I know there was kids looking up like I'm
- 51:18Speaker 1: gonna die today, right, Like it's just it's it's.
- 51:22Speaker 3: A lot, but traumatic, it's a lot.
- 51:25Speaker 1: But even when people were trying not to balance that
- 51:29Speaker 1: made it happen. Just like she was able and unfortunately
- 51:32Speaker 1: she had to deal with aiming too. We talk about
- 51:34Speaker 1: sexual violence, but she got aiming out up out of there,
- 51:37Speaker 1: and you know, Amy was doing his weird shit with
- 51:39Speaker 1: her last last time. But she got aiming up out
- 51:42Speaker 1: of there to go to Harron Hall. She you know,
- 51:44Speaker 1: was talking all the commanders and all this other stuff.
- 51:46Speaker 1: She she thankfully got got away from Jasper and she
- 51:49Speaker 1: had there was like pretty much no opposition. It's like
- 51:52Speaker 1: everything she said to Rniera that she was gonna do,
- 51:54Speaker 1: she did, right. She said, I don't want blood spilled.
- 51:57Speaker 1: I'm gonna make sure that the gates is open and
- 51:59Speaker 1: that people and with the exception of like that was
- 52:02Speaker 1: few guards that but again.
- 52:04Speaker 3: She didn't tell them what to do.
- 52:05Speaker 1: She ain't tell them what to do, right. But but
- 52:07Speaker 1: with the exception of a few the few guards like
- 52:09Speaker 1: which Damon dispatched very easily, you didn't have to worry
- 52:12Speaker 1: about it. You got fucking Eggon and Larish it, you know,
- 52:16Speaker 1: fucking west bumblefuck trying to run away and they by
- 52:21Speaker 1: the way, and they got free because and then what
- 52:24Speaker 1: was that about? There was just some some bandits on
- 52:27Speaker 1: the road or I don't think I was about.
- 52:30Speaker 2: I think that I think that's why I think that's
- 52:32Speaker 2: exactly why Laris pushed Homeboy to capture them rather than
- 52:40Speaker 2: kill them, because he knew that, like there's enough defeated
- 52:45Speaker 2: lands happening, like like between the two armies that like
- 52:50Speaker 2: at some point they were gonna run into the like
- 52:53Speaker 2: the Green Army, and they would.
- 52:55Speaker 1: Okay, so it might have been like just vener a
- 52:57Speaker 1: lord list that they got him up with, Okay, somehow
- 53:01Speaker 1: got away, Okay, Okay, there is no king. There is
- 53:05Speaker 1: no king on the throne. You have Helena, who is
- 53:08Speaker 1: what queen regent, and she's gonna listen to her mother.
- 53:11Speaker 1: So she did everything she says she would.
- 53:15Speaker 3: But it's so funny how like Alison was like, don't
- 53:17Speaker 3: even worry about it.
- 53:18Speaker 2: I'm gonna go talk to the commander. You just not
- 53:20Speaker 2: like you're the queen. You're gonna say, make this command.
- 53:22Speaker 2: He's like, She's like, from you're queen, Helena, commands this.
- 53:24Speaker 2: And Helena was like, uh, yeah, I command what she
- 53:28Speaker 2: just said.
- 53:29Speaker 1: Right Now here comes the hard part about keeping promises, ah,
- 53:36Speaker 1: and whether you know things are super intentional or you're
- 53:39Speaker 1: kind of pushed into it. Remember we said earlier just
- 53:41Speaker 1: about ring Neerer wasn't really in the right mind to
- 53:45Speaker 1: execute at that point, right, like, and we talked. And
- 53:48Speaker 1: when I say execute, I don't literally need the act
- 53:50Speaker 1: of unliving someone. I literally I also mean just get
- 53:54Speaker 1: things done in the name of you capturing the throne. Right,
- 53:58Speaker 1: So you went to the throne room. You scared it
- 54:00Speaker 1: hell seeing that thrown again. Like, I don't know if
- 54:02Speaker 1: she'sn't even been there since the time she fled when
- 54:04Speaker 1: she was younger. I don't know, Well, besides her sneaking
- 54:08Speaker 1: around Western Roast with Alison, not West Roast, but Kingslandon
- 54:12Speaker 1: with Alison. Then you know she's yelling at yeah, her
- 54:16Speaker 1: yelling about needing Agon because she has to kill him,
- 54:19Speaker 1: and she was prepared for him like she would I
- 54:22Speaker 1: guess she claimed she was prepared to because it was
- 54:25Speaker 1: a son for a son, because that was the deal
- 54:26Speaker 1: with Allison, right, and then she would have sent the throne.
- 54:31Speaker 1: You thought it was gonna be one way, but it
- 54:33Speaker 1: was the other way. Now, what was you gonna say?
- 54:37Speaker 3: Two things? Real quick?
- 54:38Speaker 2: One got to note that the first thing that Agon
- 54:41Speaker 2: does whenever he's freed from the carriage is to murder
- 54:44Speaker 2: someone very in his character. To be fair, the guy
- 54:48Speaker 2: was like, I gotta keep you inside, and he was
- 54:50Speaker 2: just like nah, and.
- 54:51Speaker 3: Just like wait berserk and then that Helena.
- 54:55Speaker 2: The first thing she said to Alison was like, didn't
- 54:58Speaker 2: we didn't you have this the choice to let ring
- 55:03Speaker 2: have r Nearer take the throne in her first place?
- 55:06Speaker 2: Aren't we only here because you said you heard our
- 55:08Speaker 2: father say that he want egg On on the throne.
- 55:12Speaker 3: And then whenever Allison was like, oh yeah, like you know,
- 55:15Speaker 3: who knows what I heard? Like because Helena she when
- 55:20Speaker 3: she's ready to talk her stuff.
- 55:22Speaker 2: She doesn't and she does it so easily. So breez
- 55:25Speaker 2: with Helena, don't give a fuck.
- 55:27Speaker 3: She just I.
- 55:28Speaker 2: Thought, I thought, aren't you the lady who's who made
- 55:32Speaker 2: all this happen? Aren't you the one who told everyone
- 55:37Speaker 2: that the Lincen session was supposed to not include?
- 55:40Speaker 3: I just and how are we here? Listen?
- 55:43Speaker 1: But we're here now, right?
- 55:46Speaker 3: But that's why alisaid, I'm like, even your cause she
- 55:49Speaker 3: didn't even have an answer for that.
- 55:52Speaker 1: So again we told the thing about all of this,
- 55:56Speaker 1: it's all about timing, too, write very poor timing the
- 56:01Speaker 1: way things happen, so like, for example, as all this
- 56:04Speaker 1: is happening, like when nearing them arrive and they're they're
- 56:07Speaker 1: walking through the castle, they going to the throne. You know,
- 56:09Speaker 1: they're doing anything, Damon doing anything. At the same time, Alison,
- 56:13Speaker 1: Helena and the boy Helena's or the Helena's shot her daughter. Okay, helena'schild,
- 56:18Speaker 1: They're trying to escape, and I'm like, they an't go
- 56:20Speaker 1: and get out. It was just a mess. And I
- 56:23Speaker 1: was like it was too.
- 56:24Speaker 2: If Allison had been if she'd been a little bit quicker,
- 56:27Speaker 2: she'd actually like be quicking the net, she'd actually spoken.
- 56:31Speaker 3: To the city Watch or whatever day ahead.
- 56:34Speaker 1: And right and had them like.
- 56:35Speaker 2: Like she tossed the city Watch, and then she had
- 56:37Speaker 2: her baggage ready to go, like as soon as she
- 56:40Speaker 2: got to the gates, she's like, Okay, now we're gonna
- 56:42Speaker 2: we're gonna ride off.
- 56:42Speaker 1: Don't don't look over here, had her carry on ready
- 56:45Speaker 1: to go. You know, right now is demanding Egon. Agon's
- 56:49Speaker 1: clearly not there. And for Damon, it's just the timing
- 56:53Speaker 1: of it all. For Damon to find out about the
- 56:56Speaker 1: gift that you know, Laris left him and like, here's my.
- 57:00Speaker 2: Thing, because I know this in my notes, I said,
- 57:03Speaker 2: like mother, like son like so Jace went into the
- 57:07Speaker 2: Battle of the Gullet knowing that it was possibly a trap.
- 57:10Speaker 2: Raynier went to King's Landing against the advice of her counsel,
- 57:14Speaker 2: and they were saying that it was a trap, and
- 57:16Speaker 2: she's like, whatever.
- 57:17Speaker 3: Why is now?
- 57:17Speaker 2: Why's Damon going in? So, sir Laris, who you know
- 57:23Speaker 2: is full of it, you go, you follow a man
- 57:26Speaker 2: who says he has a gift for you into a
- 57:28Speaker 2: dark chamber like literally the screen was completely dark for
- 57:32Speaker 2: a good minute, and the man just follows him in
- 57:35Speaker 2: there because he's Damon, Like are you serious?
- 57:38Speaker 1: Well, Damon, Damon is the boogieyman. So Damon is Damn
- 57:42Speaker 1: the yaga.
- 57:43Speaker 3: He's like, ain't nothing batter than me. Let's let's go
- 57:45Speaker 3: see this, go check this out. Like I just anyways,
- 57:47Speaker 3: for that I knew it was Otto.
- 57:49Speaker 2: Like as soon as I know it was a cell,
- 57:51Speaker 2: I was like, oh, it's Auto because who else is
- 57:53Speaker 2: that going to be?
- 57:54Speaker 3: That is a gift? You know what I mean? Like
- 57:56Speaker 3: that's outto.
- 57:57Speaker 1: Yeah, no, I hear you. That was Damon's idea to said,
- 58:02Speaker 1: well you don't got AGM, but this is the next
- 58:03Speaker 1: best thing, right with AUTA.
- 58:06Speaker 2: Who's So back to Helena's question that I just brought up,
- 58:11Speaker 2: how did we get here, who what is the reason?
- 58:14Speaker 3: Who did it? It was Auto?
- 58:17Speaker 2: Why didn't Alison have an answer for Helena because she
- 58:20Speaker 2: was following Auto?
- 58:23Speaker 3: The person who needed to answer for all this is Auto.
- 58:26Speaker 1: Damon's not wrong with that, said very reluctantly. It's not nosed,
- 58:34Speaker 1: you know, veneroln public Ranera ends up beheading Otto and
- 58:41Speaker 1: like I said, right on time because the command the
- 58:45Speaker 1: King's watch whoever end up finding Allison and Lenna and
- 58:49Speaker 1: bring them to the throne room. And that's the first
- 58:52Speaker 1: thing Allison sees. Do you blame or are you? Are
- 58:58Speaker 1: you even concerned about what happens next? About what Allison's
- 59:02Speaker 1: response is going to be?
- 59:03Speaker 3: To that?
- 59:05Speaker 1: She said there will be no and couldn't remember it.
- 59:08Speaker 1: We could talk about, well, I had no choice. I
- 59:10Speaker 1: had to do this. I mean literally, Raynerra was all
- 59:14Speaker 1: not faced, and Damon was like, you have to do this.
- 59:16Speaker 1: Everybody's watching, like you gotta do queendom and.
- 59:22Speaker 3: This is how you become key.
- 59:23Speaker 1: This is how you become queen, right, this is how
- 59:25Speaker 1: you do this. And you know she was shaky about it,
- 59:28Speaker 1: but she made it happen. She's sitting up there and.
- 59:31Speaker 3: Hit him first.
- 59:33Speaker 1: He yells right, and he was like, I don't want
- 59:36Speaker 1: to be hacked that. I said, well, she's gonna be
- 59:37Speaker 1: hacking boy because she ain't ready.
- 59:39Speaker 2: He gave her the broad sword like that was actually
- 59:42Speaker 2: like Damon gave her the right weaponry for that, because like,
- 59:46Speaker 2: was she.
- 59:46Speaker 3: Going to do on her sword? Yes, with his though
- 59:50Speaker 3: it's like butter like, I like, it's not it was.
- 59:53Speaker 3: It was a good choice.
- 59:55Speaker 2: I think, like you were saying earlier, there's a lot
- 59:57Speaker 2: of reasons why she was bubbling when it came to
- 1:00:00Speaker 2: taken out auto because as corrupt and decrepit as that
- 1:00:06Speaker 2: man had been to her this whole time, he was
- 1:00:09Speaker 2: a father figure to her once upon a time.
- 1:00:11Speaker 3: He was her father's best friend. She did, like have
- 1:00:14Speaker 3: a life. She did just have a moment.
- 1:00:17Speaker 2: Where she dealt with the like mortality of her own son,
- 1:00:23Speaker 2: and when given the option of beheading the people who
- 1:00:27Speaker 2: had betrayed.
- 1:00:28Speaker 3: Her, was like, what does it serve?
- 1:00:30Speaker 2: So like she is seeing the futality of like just
- 1:00:34Speaker 2: like getting rid of people's.
- 1:00:36Speaker 3: Lives in a moment. But she really needed to.
- 1:00:40Speaker 2: Put that away, and she did enough to do it,
- 1:00:44Speaker 2: but not enough to not like be messy and like
- 1:00:46Speaker 2: walk in his blood, take bloody footstuss.
- 1:00:52Speaker 1: Crying on.
- 1:00:53Speaker 3: And that's the whole thing.
- 1:00:54Speaker 2: I think her being very adamant about taking out Eggon
- 1:00:59Speaker 2: wasn't just because because like if you notice when she's
- 1:01:01Speaker 2: when she first goes to the throne room and Damn
- 1:01:03Speaker 2: is like, it's your throne, She's like, it's not until
- 1:01:04Speaker 2: I get egg on. The whole there's a whole adage
- 1:01:09Speaker 2: that is about the iron throne that it cuts whoever
- 1:01:13Speaker 2: it's unsuited for it, like you cannot sit the throne,
- 1:01:17Speaker 2: well if you don't actually do what's necessary to sit
- 1:01:21Speaker 2: the throne.
- 1:01:22Speaker 3: So she knows that if she doesn't sits in that throne,
- 1:01:25Speaker 3: it's gonna be uncomfortable.
- 1:01:26Speaker 2: It's gonna there's like a couple different he said, the
- 1:01:28Speaker 2: mad King, especially like Dunaris's father, he would always have
- 1:01:33Speaker 2: cuts on his body because he was not suited for
- 1:01:36Speaker 2: that throne. Like, so there's like a whole thing that
- 1:01:38Speaker 2: goes on about that. So she knows this and she's
- 1:01:42Speaker 2: conscious of it.
- 1:01:43Speaker 3: She's trying to do.
- 1:01:43Speaker 2: Whatever she's gotta do to be worthy to sit on
- 1:01:45Speaker 2: that throne. And so she gets up there and she's
- 1:01:48Speaker 2: crying and it's like you kind of she kind of did,
- 1:01:51Speaker 2: it's necessary to be on the throne, but kind of not,
- 1:01:54Speaker 2: and it's not it's not great.
- 1:01:58Speaker 3: Yeah.
- 1:01:59Speaker 1: Yeah. I was just looking at Alison's face when she
- 1:02:02Speaker 1: saw her father's body, and it's just like, I mean,
- 1:02:06Speaker 1: y'all have this coming. But it's also like damn like
- 1:02:09Speaker 1: because when you're looking at her, like my fault son.
- 1:02:11Speaker 1: I know. We said no bloodshed, but and there was nothing.
- 1:02:14Speaker 3: Just all I said.
- 1:02:17Speaker 1: Allison said she didn't want any bloodshed. She said, I'd
- 1:02:20Speaker 1: rather she said, this is why I'm delivering the city.
- 1:02:22Speaker 1: She said, I want to deliver the city to you,
- 1:02:24Speaker 1: no bloodshed. She just wanted everybody to get free. Now
- 1:02:27Speaker 1: that didn't necessarily I don't know if she even realized
- 1:02:29Speaker 1: maybe she knew that her father was in the prison
- 1:02:31Speaker 1: the whole time.
- 1:02:32Speaker 3: I don't know.
- 1:02:32Speaker 1: I don't know if she realized.
- 1:02:34Speaker 2: She didn't know that because she said under the impression
- 1:02:36Speaker 2: that he was with her her okay, with her son
- 1:02:41Speaker 2: actually because that's because.
- 1:02:43Speaker 1: I will say this, the moment they found out, regardless
- 1:02:46Speaker 1: of they were that they were told or not, the
- 1:02:47Speaker 1: moment they found out, a lot of a lot of
- 1:02:49Speaker 1: otto was down there. He was gonna die. Yeah, so
- 1:02:53Speaker 1: you know it. Probably it was gonna happen one way
- 1:02:56Speaker 1: or another. But it's just you just see again another
- 1:02:59Speaker 1: feeling or fail, some betrayal in the Allison's face. She
- 1:03:01Speaker 1: was just like we said.
- 1:03:03Speaker 2: But here's my thing. In the after show, the actress
- 1:03:07Speaker 2: says that Allison knows that she and her daughter have
- 1:03:11Speaker 2: to get out of King's Landing because even if even
- 1:03:14Speaker 2: if she's done of her end of the bargain, there
- 1:03:17Speaker 2: has to be an example made, and she's not the
- 1:03:20Speaker 2: example exact.
- 1:03:21Speaker 3: So here's my thing. One, she didn't even know her
- 1:03:25Speaker 3: father was around two.
- 1:03:28Speaker 2: This like her face can very well be oh crap,
- 1:03:32Speaker 2: I even know he was around here?
- 1:03:33Speaker 3: How did I have to two? It's also a little
- 1:03:37Speaker 3: bit of relief, like I'm not gonna get my head chopped.
- 1:03:41Speaker 3: He died for me. That's not me. That's not me.
- 1:03:45Speaker 1: You don't think she's gonna be angry?
- 1:03:48Speaker 3: What is again?
- 1:03:49Speaker 1: Am I saying she got a right to be? I'm
- 1:03:51Speaker 1: just saying, do you think she's gonna be angry?
- 1:03:52Speaker 2: I don't know that her anger is going to be
- 1:03:55Speaker 2: anywhere near where it would be if someone.
- 1:03:57Speaker 3: Had taken out Helena.
- 1:04:01Speaker 2: Like the love she has for Auto is not the
- 1:04:03Speaker 2: same kind of love she has for Like clearly Helena
- 1:04:06Speaker 2: is the person she loves the most in the world
- 1:04:08Speaker 2: right now.
- 1:04:09Speaker 1: I mean Otto groomed her to get up there in
- 1:04:11Speaker 1: the first place. As as the Queen.
- 1:04:13Speaker 3: Tay, they feel like she has a lot of resentment
- 1:04:15Speaker 3: towards that.
- 1:04:15Speaker 2: I think, again, I don't know that she.
- 1:04:20Speaker 3: I feel like she probably.
- 1:04:21Speaker 2: Like if I wear in her shoes, it would be
- 1:04:24Speaker 2: more of a relief that someone that is a central figure,
- 1:04:28Speaker 2: more central figure than she is to all of the
- 1:04:31Speaker 2: charad that led to this moment is the one who's
- 1:04:34Speaker 2: taken out, And so she might live another day because
- 1:04:37Speaker 2: the other particket.
- 1:04:39Speaker 1: So she might just be like welp them to breaks,
- 1:04:42Speaker 1: Like she might try to play it up to try
- 1:04:44Speaker 1: to see what she get from it.
- 1:04:47Speaker 3: But like at the end of the day, she's.
- 1:04:49Speaker 2: Done enough stuff herself that is better for her to
- 1:04:52Speaker 2: point the finger to someone who's already dead than to
- 1:04:55Speaker 2: like let that be her issue.
- 1:04:57Speaker 3: Got it?
- 1:04:59Speaker 1: Okay? All right? Did we talk about everything this episode
- 1:05:03Speaker 1: or did we hit all the points, all the people,
- 1:05:06Speaker 1: all the plans and we didn't.
- 1:05:07Speaker 3: Talking about your favorite amens and him?
- 1:05:11Speaker 1: Oh amen, his late ass. Yeah, I didn't talk about
- 1:05:15Speaker 1: him because I'm like you all behind, sir. So the
- 1:05:18Speaker 1: fact that he fell for it and went off to
- 1:05:20Speaker 1: Harron Hall, and I forgot the name of the the
- 1:05:23Speaker 1: guy who owns Harron Hall, the woman the strong right,
- 1:05:28Speaker 1: he pulled up as strong and Strong was like, well
- 1:05:30Speaker 1: a shit going on here?
- 1:05:32Speaker 3: Right?
- 1:05:32Speaker 1: First of all, Haroon Hall is so ghetto, so so
- 1:05:34Speaker 1: so so, but also like.
- 1:05:35Speaker 2: He was early, he was part of the like debarchery earlier. Yeah, right,
- 1:05:42Speaker 2: so he was just like you're here now, but they.
- 1:05:45Speaker 1: Ain't ship here for you, like okay, and Aimin is dead,
- 1:05:50Speaker 1: Like Amon really want to be Damon so bad. He
- 1:05:53Speaker 1: really want to be Damon so bad. And when I
- 1:05:55Speaker 1: had said earlier about like Damon don't got a dragon,
- 1:05:57Speaker 1: Damon is still baba yaga. Right, Amen got a dragon,
- 1:06:01Speaker 1: you got some hands, but you ain't the same you were.
- 1:06:04Speaker 1: You and him, it's not the same. So Amen pulling
- 1:06:07Speaker 1: up that's why like strong was like, well, my boy,
- 1:06:11Speaker 1: you know you can just no one's here to fight
- 1:06:13Speaker 1: you just take it right, And Amen is just dead
- 1:06:17Speaker 1: set on. I gotta be a conqueror. I gotta be
- 1:06:19Speaker 1: doing something. He slays him and the sons for whatever reason.
- 1:06:24Speaker 1: But one of the sons got got a stab in
- 1:06:27Speaker 1: on him, right, and I was trying to figure out
- 1:06:29Speaker 1: was it just a really good stab or was it
- 1:06:31Speaker 1: like poisoned or what?
- 1:06:33Speaker 3: And they're really a poison house, Well they can't know.
- 1:06:36Speaker 2: Parenhall can't be okay, treacherous, but they're not really.
- 1:06:41Speaker 1: A poison Okay. It was just a good It was
- 1:06:43Speaker 1: just a good yeah, okay. And also why I was
- 1:06:48Speaker 1: talking about poison because then Alice Rivers appears. Remember we
- 1:06:51Speaker 1: also heard earlier Alice have that conversation with Damon where
- 1:06:55Speaker 1: before Damon was about to go help Herniera, she was
- 1:06:58Speaker 1: just like, well I want hairing Hall. Nobody cares about
- 1:07:00Speaker 1: hair in Hale. I should be the one. And he
- 1:07:02Speaker 1: had again a very patriarchical conversation about well, you're a
- 1:07:05Speaker 1: woman who ain't got ship, so why should you get
- 1:07:08Speaker 1: the castle?
- 1:07:09Speaker 2: Okay, but let's be real here, as long as we here,
- 1:07:10Speaker 2: I hate the patriarchy. I will never I will never
- 1:07:14Speaker 2: argue on the stance of patriarchy.
- 1:07:17Speaker 3: Right.
- 1:07:18Speaker 1: However, he wasn't wrong all the way.
- 1:07:21Speaker 2: When have you ever in your life hurt someone be
- 1:07:25Speaker 2: rewarded for being in the shadows.
- 1:07:28Speaker 3: What did you do? Why are you getting? Why would
- 1:07:31Speaker 3: you get a like why would you get a whole man?
- 1:07:34Speaker 3: Like a whole bit? Like why? Why? Who has ever
- 1:07:38Speaker 3: done that?
- 1:07:38Speaker 1: And Damon has a similar situation a conversation with but
- 1:07:42Speaker 1: in a little differently, but with Ranera's yeah, but sorry,
- 1:07:47Speaker 1: what is she not bedmaids advice?
- 1:07:50Speaker 3: She well, she.
- 1:07:52Speaker 1: Right, right, right, that's what's with Damon. But when we
- 1:07:55Speaker 1: talk about people in the Shadows being rewarded, like, but
- 1:07:58Speaker 1: that's the thing.
- 1:07:58Speaker 2: Is that, like because little Finger, everybody's behind her, it
- 1:08:02Speaker 2: doesn't matter. My thing is like the series and the Shadows.
- 1:08:07Speaker 2: But she's like she knows that she's asking for. Whatever
- 1:08:11Speaker 2: she's asking for is like within the like is the
- 1:08:15Speaker 2: realm whenever she's adding to the peace versus Alice River's doing?
- 1:08:22Speaker 3: What is she? So?
- 1:08:24Speaker 1: I feel like she she's she she's shooting for the
- 1:08:27Speaker 1: she's aiming for the stars, landing on the moon. She trying,
- 1:08:30Speaker 1: that's my thing. I'm like, she's I'm like, that's what
- 1:08:31Speaker 1: I wrote my note. I'm like, Damon knows that she
- 1:08:35Speaker 1: is playing some kind of game here.
- 1:08:36Speaker 2: That's why he smiles at this because he's like, we
- 1:08:40Speaker 2: both know that you're asking me this for a reason,
- 1:08:42Speaker 2: because I feel like that's the whole thing about witches
- 1:08:44Speaker 2: and fairy tales, right, Like they tend to like ask
- 1:08:46Speaker 2: for something that is like way out of here. Very
- 1:08:50Speaker 2: rarely do they ask for something within reasonable like confines.
- 1:08:53Speaker 1: Like I need to eat your kids, just like hold on,
- 1:08:57Speaker 1: hold on with let's back this up. In them fairy tales,
- 1:09:01Speaker 1: they often get what they want, do they?
- 1:09:04Speaker 3: Though? Like with Rapunzel, she got repuzzle.
- 1:09:07Speaker 1: For a minute, but then what I get it for
- 1:09:09Speaker 1: a minute and then I think it's bad?
- 1:09:12Speaker 2: We care, but like and those are we can also
- 1:09:14Speaker 2: talk about the patriarchy of fairy tales and how they
- 1:09:16Speaker 2: set up women who are single and like, you know,
- 1:09:19Speaker 2: doing their own lives to be like the scary the
- 1:09:22Speaker 2: like villains of the story and all that kind of stuff.
- 1:09:24Speaker 2: That's the whole aside, But it could apply to Alice
- 1:09:27Speaker 2: Rivers because like, who is she?
- 1:09:29Speaker 3: What are her motives? What is she? Who is she
- 1:09:31Speaker 3: moving forward? What is she doing?
- 1:09:33Speaker 1: Claim she wants to airn Hall and.
- 1:09:35Speaker 3: What is the reason why would you ask for that?
- 1:09:39Speaker 1: What there has to be or she some well, yeah,
- 1:09:42Speaker 1: it's obviously a reason for some type of but because
- 1:09:46Speaker 1: of the conversation she had with Damon, which left the
- 1:09:48Speaker 1: bad taste of her uh Damon, yes, which left the
- 1:09:51Speaker 1: bad taste in her mouth. Now you have aim in
- 1:09:54Speaker 1: situation with him collapsing in front of her. Is she
- 1:09:57Speaker 1: about to help aim In now?
- 1:09:59Speaker 3: Yeah? Because we have been amenis mentioned this before.
- 1:10:02Speaker 2: Amon and Damon's stories are going to be parallels to
- 1:10:06Speaker 2: each other because that's how the whole story is set up.
- 1:10:12Speaker 1: Okay, all right, did I hit everybody? Did we hit
- 1:10:15Speaker 1: everybody in there?
- 1:10:15Speaker 3: Yeah?
- 1:10:16Speaker 1: Okay, Oh my god.
- 1:10:17Speaker 3: I was gonna just say that.
- 1:10:18Speaker 2: It's just noticeable that he's walked in there without his
- 1:10:22Speaker 2: eyepatch on, Like he puts.
- 1:10:23Speaker 3: On his eye for talk him out, but not for battle.
- 1:10:26Speaker 3: Like He's like, I wasn't add about because Damon is
- 1:10:29Speaker 3: the boogey Man, but he wants to look like the Boogeyman.
- 1:10:31Speaker 3: I don't know.
- 1:10:33Speaker 1: No, you you don't have the range.
- 1:10:36Speaker 3: Absolutely not. No.
