- 1:12Speaker 1: show starts in ten.
- 1:17Speaker 2: Ye eight.
- 1:20Speaker 1: Seven, six, five four three two one go.
- 1:49Speaker 2: Hey everyone? Is she girl sci book out a four
- 1:54Speaker 2: three Patrice Grimble and we are hit on another beautiful
- 2:01Speaker 2: Tuesday night. You guys. The weather down here in Charleston
- 2:06Speaker 2: was beautiful today. Okay. I took me a walk around
- 2:11Speaker 2: my building where I work. It was so pretty, not
- 2:14Speaker 2: too hot, not too cool. We had to rain on Monday,
- 2:19Speaker 2: so today was just wonderful. So remember at Sea Bookals
- 2:25Speaker 2: and Friends is celebrating Women's History Month, and tonight we
- 2:30Speaker 2: have a special friend. Now, this lady is very special
- 2:34Speaker 2: to me. She was, well still is because my mom
- 2:39Speaker 2: is still hearing my heart. My mom's best friend. She
- 2:43Speaker 2: knew your girl when I was like maybe what ten eleven?
- 2:51Speaker 2: Oh my god, I feel old. But she was a
- 2:55Speaker 2: very close friend to my mom and now she is
- 2:58Speaker 2: an author. Book actually helped me through one of the
- 3:02Speaker 2: periods in life, and it let me see somebody for
- 3:05Speaker 2: who there really was. And that book, along with friends
- 3:12Speaker 2: and the crew, helped me to get through that dark time.
- 3:17Speaker 2: But now she's looking out for the little people in
- 3:21Speaker 2: our life. She has a new children's book out missus Gabrielle,
- 3:27Speaker 2: the perfect little Dreamer. I know I'm saying it wrong,
- 3:32Speaker 2: you guys, but I'm just so excited because I know
- 3:34Speaker 2: my mom was sitting up here like yay. So welcome
- 3:39Speaker 2: the sci bookyals and friends, Author Tracy Smalls. Come on up, girly,
- 3:44Speaker 2: come on out.
- 3:46Speaker 3: Hello, I miss Chasey. Everyone.
- 3:51Speaker 4: Now you had it very close. It's Gabrielle, the biggest
- 3:54Speaker 4: Little dream But you you were so close.
- 3:57Speaker 2: I am. You know. The craziest thing is I am
- 4:00Speaker 2: very bad at book titles. Okay, lets, it has one
- 4:04Speaker 2: of them book titles that actually stand out. And this
- 4:08Speaker 2: is the children's show, so I can't tell y'all the
- 4:11Speaker 2: book that the lady actually looked for in the library. Yo.
- 4:15Speaker 2: We'll say that for next week. But that title was
- 4:17Speaker 2: something I will never forget. Matter of fact, I got
- 4:21Speaker 2: it right now. So welcome again to Stain France.
- 4:31Speaker 3: This is the same.
- 4:34Speaker 2: It is truly an honor to have you because it's like,
- 4:39Speaker 2: did you ever see this coming from me? And I
- 4:43Speaker 2: would have never thought you would be an author.
- 4:46Speaker 4: That's the amazing part of life, the amazing part the
- 4:52Speaker 4: things that we think we are going to be doing
- 4:54Speaker 4: may not necessarily be what we end up doing. Life
- 4:58Speaker 4: has a way of taking her and says, no, I
- 5:01Speaker 4: never thought i'd see Nita's little girl sitting up here
- 5:05Speaker 4: doing her own podcast. And definitely I didn't see myself
- 5:10Speaker 4: being an author a four time offer. Never saw it coming.
- 5:14Speaker 4: But nevertheless I'm grateful.
- 5:17Speaker 2: Yes, yes, yes, now I can't remember, y'all, this is
- 5:22Speaker 2: a little secret from the family. It's not a secret.
- 5:24Speaker 2: It was like the funniest thing you had the son Bob, right,
- 5:29Speaker 2: or that Bob was scared of dolls?
- 5:34Speaker 3: Correct, exactly, y'all. My mom have a great memory.
- 5:45Speaker 2: My mom had all girls, and I remember Bob being
- 5:48Speaker 2: at the house. I don't know whose doll or who
- 5:53Speaker 2: was playing with it. I think it might have been Ashley.
- 5:56Speaker 2: Bob saw that doll and ran out the door. I'll
- 6:00Speaker 2: never forget my mother. Oh my god, y'all.
- 6:06Speaker 4: As a big man now with four children, a cent
- 6:11Speaker 4: of twins and an eight year old and a two
- 6:15Speaker 4: year old. So he should no longer be afraid of
- 6:18Speaker 4: dolls because he had little girls three.
- 6:22Speaker 2: Oh my god, So now I see why you wrote
- 6:24Speaker 2: this children's book.
- 6:26Speaker 4: Yes, yes, leaving a legacy from my grand baby.
- 6:31Speaker 2: Uh, sound like somebody else. Our producer always talks about
- 6:36Speaker 2: leaving a legacy. All right, question, we're gonna We're gonna
- 6:40Speaker 2: bring that back up. But other than everything I've told you,
- 6:45Speaker 2: tell us a little bit about yourself.
- 6:48Speaker 4: Well, as I mentioned, I'm a fourth time author, I'm
- 6:53Speaker 4: a certified life coach, relationship life coach, and I've just
- 6:57Speaker 4: added grief coach to the list of things that I
- 7:00Speaker 4: am doing, which I am so grateful for. I'm a wife,
- 7:05Speaker 4: a mother, a daughter. In all of the above, I
- 7:08Speaker 4: carry many hats.
- 7:12Speaker 3: I wear them all, but.
- 7:14Speaker 4: To God be the glory. I give it all to Him,
- 7:17Speaker 4: and I am so grateful that I am able to
- 7:20Speaker 4: considering the life that I've had in the past to
- 7:23Speaker 4: where I am today. It is an amazing blessing.
- 7:27Speaker 2: Wow. So the biggest little dreamer, Gabrielle would yeah, brought
- 7:40Speaker 2: the world of children's book to your front door. Why
- 7:45Speaker 2: children's book?
- 7:47Speaker 4: Well, never thought I would write a children's book. But
- 7:51Speaker 4: when I begin to look at the kids and see
- 7:53Speaker 4: a lot of things that's going on with the children,
- 7:56Speaker 4: especially with crime, and a lot of kids is coming
- 8:00Speaker 4: from broken homes, it was important for me to make
- 8:03Speaker 4: sure that I wrote something to give them hope, because
- 8:07Speaker 4: I too was that little girl who dreapped up several
- 8:10Speaker 4: things that I wanted to become. But unfortunately, when you
- 8:14Speaker 4: don't come from a family that is able to fund
- 8:17Speaker 4: the things that we want to see coming too flich
- 8:20Speaker 4: and as children, and it's like, wow, let me just
- 8:24Speaker 4: write this book. Put it in the ears and the
- 8:27Speaker 4: hearts of these children, so that they too can consider dreaming.
- 8:32Speaker 4: Not dream as big as they want to, but don't
- 8:34Speaker 4: dream too small. And there are things that I've dreat
- 8:37Speaker 4: in the past of wanting to do, and at the
- 8:40Speaker 4: age of fifty five almost I won't be revisiting some
- 8:43Speaker 4: of those days.
- 8:45Speaker 3: So it's never too late.
- 8:46Speaker 4: As long as you have life in your body. So
- 8:48Speaker 4: I wanted to give them something to cling on to.
- 8:52Speaker 2: You know, it's crazy because a lot of kids don't
- 8:55Speaker 2: have those dreams anymore. I remember growing up, you always
- 8:59Speaker 2: used to were acts. What do you want to be
- 9:03Speaker 2: when you grow up? I actually that a lot my
- 9:08Speaker 2: ten year old and every week it means. First, she
- 9:12Speaker 2: wanted because of my sister Ashley. She wanted to be
- 9:16Speaker 2: a fashion designer, and she wanted to do a meet
- 9:19Speaker 2: up person. Now she wants to be a teacher. So
- 9:22Speaker 2: it's great that we bring that back up. Because of
- 9:26Speaker 2: everything that's going on, we need to make sure that
- 9:30Speaker 2: our kids still have these dreams.
- 9:33Speaker 4: Yeah, it's very important to expose them to a lot
- 9:37Speaker 4: of things. And last you've just messing with your little girl.
- 9:41Speaker 4: It's seeing your sister's doing different things. We don't realize it,
- 9:46Speaker 4: but no one taught me how to cook. But you
- 9:48Speaker 4: don't realize that when you're in that kitchen and you're
- 9:51Speaker 4: watching your parents, you don't know what that child is
- 9:55Speaker 4: picking up as they're just seeing you just doing every
- 9:58Speaker 4: day or and everything. You're really not paying any attention
- 10:01Speaker 4: to it. So now I'm able to get on to
- 10:04Speaker 4: social media and cook live, but never was taught how
- 10:08Speaker 4: to cook, just watch it. So exposure is important.
- 10:13Speaker 2: And that's the thing I think as parents we are
- 10:17Speaker 2: I don't I don't want to say we want to,
- 10:19Speaker 2: but I think because of things that are going on,
- 10:23Speaker 2: we're not always present. And that's one of the reasons
- 10:29Speaker 2: why you guys, I went from Saturday night the Tuesday
- 10:34Speaker 2: night to be more present for my daughter and all
- 10:38Speaker 2: things she got me to.
- 10:46Speaker 4: We're not present, someone else may be and it may
- 10:50Speaker 4: not be the right people that you want to be
- 10:53Speaker 4: influenced in that. So that is extremely important. And I've
- 10:57Speaker 4: been stupping in the schools for about a year year.
- 11:01Speaker 4: I don't do it anymore, but just seeing the kids
- 11:03Speaker 4: coming from broken homes and seeing some of the things
- 11:06Speaker 4: that they go through, it's like, what hope do they have?
- 11:11Speaker 4: What hope do they actually have? Yes, yes, you're right,
- 11:18Speaker 4: You're right.
- 11:18Speaker 2: So we are celebrating Women's Sisty Month and it's an
- 11:22Speaker 2: honor to have you because you are a second woman
- 11:25Speaker 2: and our first children's author this month. So how does
- 11:31Speaker 2: being a woman influence your storytelling? Or even let's bring
- 11:37Speaker 2: it to missus, little Gabrielle, how is being a woman
- 11:43Speaker 2: influenced that whole scenario?
- 11:47Speaker 4: Just wanting to seek everyone sixteen, from the parents to
- 11:53Speaker 4: the children, because believe it or not, there are some
- 11:56Speaker 4: adults who have actually read this children's book and they've
- 12:00Speaker 4: talked about how much it helped them. So if the
- 12:03Speaker 4: parents are winning and they believe that they could do anything,
- 12:07Speaker 4: and they would start and partning that into the lives.
- 12:10Speaker 3: Of their children.
- 12:11Speaker 4: So for me being a woman and just wanting to
- 12:14Speaker 4: see everyone succeed because As I've mentioned, it's hurtful when
- 12:20Speaker 4: you want to do something and your parents are telling you, well,
- 12:23Speaker 4: I can't afford that right now. Well start small, start
- 12:28Speaker 4: dropping that seed in them, letting them know that it
- 12:31Speaker 4: is possible, work towards it. Put a few dollars here,
- 12:35Speaker 4: put a few dollars there. So it was just important
- 12:37Speaker 4: for me to I truly, I just want to see
- 12:40Speaker 4: everyone with me.
- 12:43Speaker 2: That is perfect, especially when it comes down to not
- 12:47Speaker 2: being able to afford it, because that is the case
- 12:51Speaker 2: of some parents, or not being able to be there,
- 12:54Speaker 2: that is the case in parents. Here's an idea, look
- 12:59Speaker 2: for that same desire that they have. If they can't,
- 13:05Speaker 2: if you can't afford for them to be a part
- 13:08Speaker 2: of it, then help them to participate in it. Because
- 13:13Speaker 2: before you go on stage, you have to be a
- 13:16Speaker 2: part of the audience. True, and a lot of us
- 13:20Speaker 2: don't think of how important the audience is to those
- 13:24Speaker 2: that are performing. So parents, speaking from a single parent,
- 13:29Speaker 2: if you can't afford it, sometimes our kids understand, But
- 13:33Speaker 2: then give them another option. Hey, I may not cannot
- 13:38Speaker 2: afford for you to be in it and have this costume,
- 13:41Speaker 2: but you know what, we can go support them and
- 13:44Speaker 2: save up so when you can be out there.
- 13:46Speaker 4: So yeah, I love Then there are a lot of
- 13:49Speaker 4: resources out here also that is available if you would
- 13:54Speaker 4: expult parents in particular with just network and stop being
- 13:59Speaker 4: afraid to maybe talking to a sibling, walking to their
- 14:04Speaker 4: parents who are now grandparents, maybe friends. If I believe
- 14:09Speaker 4: that it takes a community to raise our children, so
- 14:12Speaker 4: you'd be amazed of how many resources that are available
- 14:16Speaker 4: out here. If you would just start talking and asking questions,
- 14:21Speaker 4: you'd be a surprise.
- 14:24Speaker 2: It's called the village, people. Now, let's get back to
- 14:29Speaker 2: the village exactly. That's how my daughter started dancing in
- 14:35Speaker 2: African dance with She started off praise dancing in church.
- 14:42Speaker 2: Crazy thing is we are really not even members of
- 14:46Speaker 2: the church, but they embrace us in so and from
- 14:50Speaker 2: there she's gained too many friendships and she has a village.
- 14:55Speaker 2: So have you ever taken your book to be read
- 15:01Speaker 2: out of school or an event or anything along that line.
- 15:05Speaker 3: I've done a few places.
- 15:07Speaker 4: In fact, I'm waiting here back from a woman right
- 15:10Speaker 4: now about potentially reading at I believe it's lacks an
- 15:14Speaker 4: elementary school. So those are some of the things that
- 15:17Speaker 4: I want to do. I do want to head out
- 15:20Speaker 4: to some of the libraries and start reading, doing some
- 15:23Speaker 4: story time with the kids in the libraries. So I've
- 15:26Speaker 4: done a couple, well maybe a few, not as many
- 15:29Speaker 4: as I would like to, but it's coming.
- 15:33Speaker 2: So can you share with us a memorable reaction from
- 15:36Speaker 2: a young reader that touched you.
- 15:39Speaker 4: Yes, In fact, a little boy, his name is King,
- 15:46Speaker 4: and he has read this book I would want to
- 15:50Speaker 4: say at least three or four times. But what it
- 15:53Speaker 4: did for him over the summer, he asks his grammy
- 15:57Speaker 4: to buy him some freeze pops and he can start
- 16:01Speaker 4: selling freeze pop because he wanted to be an entrepreneur.
- 16:05Speaker 4: So the fact that reading that book instill that in
- 16:10Speaker 4: his heart and he's like.
- 16:11Speaker 3: I want to be an entrepreneur.
- 16:13Speaker 4: So he was charging people, I believe a quarter or
- 16:15Speaker 4: fifty cents, but that's where it stopped. That's where it starts.
- 16:21Speaker 4: So that really touched my heart. You never despised from
- 16:24Speaker 4: all beginnings. It goes for a person, another individual, They're like,
- 16:29Speaker 4: I'll will sit down some please, But no, no, no, no,
- 16:33Speaker 4: he has gotten the whole of the concept and he
- 16:36Speaker 4: took off and ran with it.
- 16:39Speaker 3: Ah, that is awesome. So now he said will you
- 16:43Speaker 3: write a book for me too?
- 16:44Speaker 4: So I'm like, okay, maybe I'll write a book with
- 16:48Speaker 4: the word chain in it, your name, the ruloves, the
- 16:51Speaker 4: moon door.
- 16:51Speaker 3: Or something like that. Just silly mek up for him.
- 16:56Speaker 4: He's always asking when am I going to write him
- 16:58Speaker 4: a children's book?
- 17:00Speaker 2: Oh?
- 17:00Speaker 3: That is so cute, little That's what I'm talking about.
- 17:05Speaker 2: Ya. Tell us a little bit about this little character.
- 17:11Speaker 2: First of all the graphics, it is so cute. I
- 17:16Speaker 2: am so My mom used to hear like that. Y'all,
- 17:19Speaker 2: each one of us have some type of elementary school picture.
- 17:25Speaker 2: I'm gonna post him because actually found me, her and
- 17:29Speaker 2: Candice apt she sound all four of our pictures. So
- 17:33Speaker 2: sometime this week and next week, y'all, I'm gonna post
- 17:36Speaker 2: all our pictures up there.
- 17:38Speaker 3: I'm getting trouble.
- 17:39Speaker 2: But tell us a little bit about the personality of
- 17:43Speaker 2: miss Gabrielle.
- 17:45Speaker 4: She's just the bobbly little girl, bobby little girl who
- 17:50Speaker 4: is so excited about making life happen for her. I
- 17:55Speaker 4: like me as a little girl. I was not that
- 17:58Speaker 4: bobbly little girl, that little girl who was very timid.
- 18:02Speaker 4: I wasn't real sure of for myself. I had very
- 18:05Speaker 4: low self esteem, so I wanted to create something bodily humorous,
- 18:11Speaker 4: and I just went forward, had no idea what I
- 18:16Speaker 4: was going to do. As I'm writing, I'm like, okay,
- 18:20Speaker 4: I want her and this specific I want to see afropops.
- 18:25Speaker 4: I just knew what I wanted as I was going along.
- 18:27Speaker 4: I never planned when I'm writing a book. It just
- 18:30Speaker 4: comes to me as I'm writing. It's almost like I'm
- 18:33Speaker 4: free stylid.
- 18:35Speaker 2: Ooh. I like that. I like that because you never
- 18:37Speaker 2: know what you come up with.
- 18:39Speaker 3: So exactly.
- 18:42Speaker 2: How do you approach diversity in representation in this book?
- 18:49Speaker 4: Well, with this book particularly particularly of course it's an
- 18:54Speaker 4: African American little girl, but also the story can relate
- 18:59Speaker 4: to any race, color, or creating. I didn't want it
- 19:04Speaker 4: just specific to an African American little girl, but I
- 19:07Speaker 4: wanted that face on the forefront to let our little
- 19:12Speaker 4: girls know, especially my granddaughters who's two, especially therefore now
- 19:19Speaker 4: they're twins, therefore my eight year old granddaughter.
- 19:23Speaker 3: I wanted them to see.
- 19:24Speaker 4: That you could be on the cover of anything, you
- 19:27Speaker 4: could do, that you.
- 19:29Speaker 3: Can absolutely do this.
- 19:30Speaker 4: But then again, I wanted the storyline to be able
- 19:34Speaker 4: to be suitable for every color.
- 19:38Speaker 2: I like that. I like the fact that you you
- 19:44Speaker 2: it's not that you really wanted the character to be
- 19:48Speaker 2: the way that she's African American little girl. You want
- 19:52Speaker 2: them to look past the character, but you but you
- 19:56Speaker 2: want them to look past it. I love that especially
- 19:59Speaker 2: it's a little An American girl. And I'm excited because
- 20:07Speaker 2: this right here is giving me confirmation. You guys. This Saturday,
- 20:13Speaker 2: I am taking my daughter to the Dream Girls conference
- 20:17Speaker 2: and it's a little comes down here to Cholston and
- 20:22Speaker 2: she's finally able to understand what they talk about. I
- 20:25Speaker 2: think I am more excited than she is. But it's
- 20:31Speaker 2: an opportunity because we have boys, she's the only little girl. Wow,
- 20:40Speaker 2: it's a whole different ball game.
- 20:42Speaker 3: So I love that.
- 20:46Speaker 4: I'm to represent who I am. Also, I'm an African
- 20:50Speaker 4: American woman, so it also had to represent who I am.
- 20:55Speaker 3: That's just the bottom line, you know.
- 20:57Speaker 4: But I wanted, you know, everyone to be able to
- 20:59Speaker 4: have something that they could take away from it, just
- 21:03Speaker 4: like any has a book. There are a lot of
- 21:04Speaker 4: books with about African American children on it, but it's
- 21:10Speaker 4: suitable for our children as well all children. I don't
- 21:14Speaker 4: like to separate the difference in suitable for everyone, but
- 21:18Speaker 4: you got to pick one, you know. I actually originally
- 21:22Speaker 4: started to have a collage of different.
- 21:26Speaker 3: Futures and then I went back to this.
- 21:30Speaker 4: But that's what I initially wanted to do. I was
- 21:33Speaker 4: gonna have Asian, Caucasian, African American. I was just gonna
- 21:38Speaker 4: have a collage of different races. But I went back
- 21:42Speaker 4: to this. This is where my heart was.
- 21:44Speaker 2: So do we hear a part two with Gabriellen some friends?
- 21:49Speaker 4: Is that it's a possibility. It is a possibility.
- 21:57Speaker 2: In the game. That's what I'm talking about.
- 22:01Speaker 3: And she's crying high right, So whoo, I got this.
- 22:09Speaker 2: We know that you want that King took away entrepreneurship,
- 22:13Speaker 2: and we know that you wanted the kids to know
- 22:15Speaker 2: that they can do anything. Is there any other messages
- 22:20Speaker 2: or themes that you want them to take away from
- 22:23Speaker 2: your book?
- 22:25Speaker 4: I think mainly just being confident and knowing who they are.
- 22:29Speaker 4: The very part of the book says who am I
- 22:33Speaker 4: right at the very front. And I did that because
- 22:37Speaker 4: oftentimes when people are asked who I am, who are they?
- 22:41Speaker 4: I should say the first thing. They equate it to
- 22:44Speaker 4: their career what they do. But I wanted children to
- 22:48Speaker 4: really just think about that question who am I and
- 22:53Speaker 4: start figuring out why am I here?
- 22:56Speaker 3: Because clearly you're here for a purpose and.
- 22:59Speaker 4: A reason, and it's not just to go and sit
- 23:02Speaker 4: on someone else's job and make their dreams come true?
- 23:05Speaker 3: Become true? But what about yours?
- 23:08Speaker 4: Like, for example, I worked to make our a shift
- 23:10Speaker 4: today and I fell to headache. But why should I
- 23:14Speaker 4: give more to someone else than I give to myself?
- 23:17Speaker 4: So I wanted to make sure that they know that
- 23:21Speaker 4: whatever it is that they want to do is obtainable.
- 23:24Speaker 4: There's no way I can sit on another man's job
- 23:28Speaker 4: for eight hours and know that this is a part
- 23:30Speaker 4: of my business and neglect it because I'm tired. That's
- 23:34Speaker 4: not balanced enough for me.
- 23:37Speaker 2: You sound like I produce it, show up for yourself.
- 23:40Speaker 2: And if you don't show up for yourself, for sure.
- 23:43Speaker 2: So let's talk about the illustrations real quick, because we
- 23:49Speaker 2: have about five to ten more minutes. Can you tell
- 23:52Speaker 2: us a little bit about your illustrations.
- 23:55Speaker 4: Well, I went through this company called some would say fever,
- 23:59Speaker 4: I call it five.
- 24:02Speaker 3: Oh yeah.
- 24:03Speaker 4: So I went through that company and I basically just
- 24:07Speaker 4: told him what I wanted. I wanted to be soft,
- 24:12Speaker 4: very colorful. I just wanted something really nice that the
- 24:16Speaker 4: kids could relate to sitting down at the dinner table.
- 24:22Speaker 4: I just wanted it to be relateable to everyone. And
- 24:26Speaker 4: when I saw that in my mind, I'm like, you
- 24:28Speaker 4: know what, what about a jet and she's flying and
- 24:32Speaker 4: she's sore, And I think that's gonna be great because
- 24:35Speaker 4: that's another thing. Oh can I potentially fly a jet
- 24:40Speaker 4: on day? Can I fly an airplane one day? So
- 24:43Speaker 4: my thought process was just making it become alive in
- 24:47Speaker 4: the spirit of anyone who reads it, even.
- 24:49Speaker 3: In a doubt.
- 24:50Speaker 4: Sometimes if I feel like I need to go back
- 24:52Speaker 4: and read it, I'll reread it. In fact, I just
- 24:55Speaker 4: did a read aloud on my page my YouTube channel.
- 24:58Speaker 4: I went and did read aloud on fact and it
- 25:02Speaker 4: wasn't so much of the sales. I wanted people to
- 25:05Speaker 4: get the message because some may say, why did you
- 25:08Speaker 4: read your book before people purchased it. It's more about
- 25:12Speaker 4: the message right now right in.
- 25:19Speaker 2: I understand what they talk about the sales and doing
- 25:21Speaker 2: it before, but that will drive people to get it
- 25:26Speaker 2: even more exactly because they don't know, but they're going
- 25:31Speaker 2: to find out right now that you have some of
- 25:34Speaker 2: the books. So tell us about about the books.
- 25:38Speaker 4: Well, the very first book I wrote was back in
- 25:40Speaker 4: twenty thirteen, Overcoming Destructive Relationships. It's about my life's my
- 25:46Speaker 4: journey from a child. As I've mentioned earlier, I wasn't
- 25:49Speaker 4: always confident in myself. I had very low self esteem.
- 25:54Speaker 4: I was a fatherless daughter. My dad died before I
- 25:58Speaker 4: was even born. That first book really talks a lot
- 26:03Speaker 4: about who I am at that point as a child.
- 26:06Speaker 4: The very first chapter is actually parents. Let's face it,
- 26:10Speaker 4: children have problems too, because a lot of time we
- 26:13Speaker 4: just think.
- 26:14Speaker 3: Oh, we can give them a tablet.
- 26:15Speaker 4: Or we could have them watch cartoon, but we have
- 26:18Speaker 4: no clue of what that child is going through internally.
- 26:22Speaker 4: So that was the first book. Then the second book
- 26:26Speaker 4: was Breaking the Chains of a Narcissist being in a
- 26:29Speaker 4: narcissistic relationship, and then finally Freedom from Narcissistic Abuse was
- 26:35Speaker 4: just to follow up from Breaking the Chains of a Narcissist.
- 26:38Speaker 3: I want to just say.
- 26:39Speaker 4: Quick quick book where you know people could go and
- 26:43Speaker 4: look like, Okay, what does that mean? What does that
- 26:45Speaker 4: flighting mean? What does lovebombing mean? What should I look
- 26:48Speaker 4: for in a narcissist. So that's the type of book
- 26:50Speaker 4: that that third one is.
- 26:53Speaker 2: Yes's had that book? That book got.
- 27:00Speaker 3: Helped a lot of people.
- 27:02Speaker 4: Breaking the chains up in narcissists have truly helped a
- 27:06Speaker 4: lot of people.
- 27:08Speaker 2: Yes, y'all that that book helped me. Okay, I was reading.
- 27:18Speaker 4: So it was real life story. It wasn't something that
- 27:23Speaker 4: I conjured and I researched. It was something that I
- 27:28Speaker 4: literally went through and then as I began writing, Okay,
- 27:33Speaker 4: now it's time for me to do some research and
- 27:36Speaker 4: start asking questions. My sister has her PhD in psychology,
- 27:40Speaker 4: so of course he was able to shed some light
- 27:43Speaker 4: on everything that I was experiencing. I'm like, okay, lord,
- 27:46Speaker 4: I'm on the right track with this one.
- 27:49Speaker 2: MM. So we closed out tonight. What would you like
- 27:56Speaker 2: to say to your old readers, you knew readers, and
- 28:01Speaker 2: the future readers. What would you like to say to.
- 28:03Speaker 4: Everyone my old readers, continue going with the book tells
- 28:10Speaker 4: you to do, so that you can continue to keep
- 28:15Speaker 4: that mind at peace. I believe in healthy mind, joyful life.
- 28:20Speaker 4: My peace means everything to me. So if you read
- 28:23Speaker 4: those books, just like the Bible, sometimes you got to
- 28:26Speaker 4: go back through those pages and read, flip through the
- 28:29Speaker 4: pages and go right back and read what you read before.
- 28:32Speaker 4: So that's for the old and for the news. I
- 28:35Speaker 4: would just tell people be open, be open to change.
- 28:39Speaker 4: It takes time, it's a process. It didn't happen for
- 28:43Speaker 4: me overnight, breaking the chains of a narcissist. I still
- 28:47Speaker 4: get certain traitors, and that is something that I have
- 28:50Speaker 4: to make sure that I maintain on a daily basis
- 28:53Speaker 4: so that I would never go back to where I was.
- 28:56Speaker 4: And you asked me something else, Now, what was the
- 28:58Speaker 4: third one? That's a menopausal moment. Now, to your future readers,
- 29:05Speaker 4: I think that was the future. I think I guess
- 29:08Speaker 4: that's the future. So for my present, they read it.
- 29:12Speaker 2: Mm hmm.
- 29:14Speaker 3: Just continue to love on me. Share the word, Just
- 29:17Speaker 3: share the word.
- 29:18Speaker 4: Share what I'm saying as I help you through the books,
- 29:22Speaker 4: pass it along to someone else, because there's always someone
- 29:25Speaker 4: in your family, rather it's the family, friend.
- 29:28Speaker 3: Coworker, at that matter, who it is.
- 29:31Speaker 4: Someone is always going through something and once you read it,
- 29:35Speaker 4: you can help them with it.
- 29:38Speaker 2: There you go. So before we leave tonight, you have
- 29:42Speaker 2: to give us the rundown on how we can follow
- 29:45Speaker 2: you on social media and how we can just keep
- 29:49Speaker 2: in touch and see what you have going on.
- 29:52Speaker 4: So I am on Facebook Facebook just Tracy Small and
- 29:57Speaker 4: follow me on Facebook. I am also on YouTube. I

- 30:30Speaker 2: to her because she does go live at the drop
- 30:33Speaker 2: of a dime.
- 30:37Speaker 4: Now, there are some a lot of old videos on
- 30:42Speaker 4: YouTube regarding narcissistic abuse that I've done in the very beginning.
- 30:46Speaker 4: But what I'm getting ready to start doing now is monthly,
- 30:50Speaker 4: I'll have one topic of conversation that I would talk
- 30:54Speaker 4: about for a full month, and then the next month
- 30:56Speaker 4: I move on to something else.
- 30:57Speaker 3: Because a lot of people are asking why did you stop?
- 31:00Speaker 4: Because I wanted people to know Tracy as Tracy, not
- 31:04Speaker 4: the woman who survived narcissistic abuse, because there's so many
- 31:07Speaker 4: other aspects to my life. Also, I'm a certified life coach,
- 31:11Speaker 4: brief coach, relationship coach, so I try to get myself
- 31:16Speaker 4: involved as in as many things as I possibly can
- 31:20Speaker 4: to be a help and service fither.
