- 2:42and then need the the website as well, so check it out.
- 2:46Yeah, anyways, found it. Go check out, found it.
- 2:49Listen to the interview and. I am here with Found it, Turner
- 3:07and Jordan, how are you guys doing tonight?
- 3:09Doing good. How are you doing?
- 3:11Like. Great, just got.
- 3:17Done with work so. Yeah.
- 3:22Yeah, me too. I was, I was telling Turner
- 3:23before you joined the call, Jordan, that I, like fell asleep
- 3:26after work. And so I'm also like only half
- 3:30here, but that's all right. I'm excited.
- 3:33Nothing like talking about like nerdy stuff to get me super
- 3:38pumped and super energetic. That's what got me through the
- 3:41day. I work at home, so like, I'm
- 3:43fighting sleep every day. Yeah, this got me.
- 3:46I, I feel that. Well, let's talk.
- 3:51I'm going to, I'm going to just hit the list.
- 3:52You guys gave me a like very eclectic list of stuff to talk
- 3:57about. So I'm gonna I'm gonna start
- 4:01with Star Wars because it was at the top of your list.
- 4:05Tell me about your your Star Wars origin story.
- 4:08Like what, how, how did you get into Star Wars?
- 4:12What kind of like, what kind of Star Wars fan are you like an
- 4:16everything Star Wars fan? That see that that's kind of
- 4:21hard. I feel like I watched the
- 4:24trilogy after Disney took over, but like any of the shows I'm
- 4:29good on. But I will say I watched a
- 4:33little bit of the clone wars. The clone wars is all right, Bad
- 4:36batch is all right. Also watch the old clone wars
- 4:39like the Star Wars video games is where it's at.
- 4:42And I don't know if you played any but Knights of the old
- 4:44Republic, Knights of the old Republic 2 phenomenal games.
- 4:49I just finished the there's one that like takes place
- 4:53technically after six. That's that's the thing about
- 4:55Star Wars. It's all like extended universe
- 4:59and it's not like in the movies or talked about in the movie.
- 5:02There's technically not Canon, but Star Wars has an insane like
- 5:06extended universe. I mean, there's games, there's
- 5:09novels, there's comics or there's all sorts of things, but
- 5:14I for some reason, like the video game lore is just like my
- 5:18favorite. But Jedi Knight Jedi Academy,
- 5:20which I just finished playing, takes place like I think like 10
- 5:25years or something after episode 6, but it's really cool.
- 5:31But. Played.
- 5:33I've played Knights of the Old Republic too.
- 5:36It's been a long time. I would say like for me, if like
- 5:40my, I started like I watched the original Star Wars trilogy a
- 5:46long time ago, I got super into like Star Wars trading cards.
- 5:50Like that's the kind of geek I was in, in like 6th grade.
- 5:53I would bring my Star Wars cards to school.
- 5:56Like they didn't even make them anymore.
- 5:58And so they're worth nothing. But like everyone else was into
- 6:01Pokémon cards. Well, not everyone.
- 6:03All the other losers were into Pokémon cards.
- 6:06I was one of those losers. Yeah, and I was just tracking
- 6:09tracking along my my Star Wars cards.
- 6:11So like extra extra nerdy but like I want to get.
- 6:16This cards which I'll know about.
- 6:17Chaotic. Chaotic.
- 6:19Yeah. Do you remember the Chaotic
- 6:20cards? It was a show on Cartoon Network
- 6:22too. I barely remember anything about
- 6:26it, but there were like 3 different cards.
- 6:30Yeah, there were three different cards that kids that like my
- 6:33elementary school did, and it was Pokémon, Yu-gi-oh and
- 6:37Chaotic. Do you all remiss with Beyblade?
- 6:44I don't even know what this is. This this chaotic card is like
- 6:48$400.00 on eBay those. Real a real deal there's.
- 6:51Something to it I guess. You say Beyblade Turner.
- 6:57Beyblade. I was definitely not a Beyblade
- 7:02kid, but I could see the appeal of Beyblade.
- 7:06Where you at? I was, I was not.
- 7:09All my friends had them and we couldn't afford them.
- 7:13I think my parents got me. Well, my brother and I won for
- 7:17Christmas and like within a year we tore it up and they're like,
- 7:20hey, we're not doing that again. Do you know how much that was?
- 7:26I don't even how expensive are now I'm like, how expensive are
- 7:30Beyblades? It'll get to Google's thing
- 7:34episode. Hi.
- 7:35I'm Jordan. Welcome to.
- 7:36Google's there's a whole website that's just called Buy
- 7:43beyblades.com. I don't know if this is real.
- 7:47Seems legit, yeah. Seems legit.
- 7:48Seems legit, yeah. It's on the Internet, it's got
- 7:51to be true. It's in the name.
- 7:54Buy beyblades.com or or that would.
- 7:58Probably went from Star Wars to to me Googling Beyblades, but
- 8:05they don't look that expense, although everything's expensive
- 8:07now. So you know Star Wars video
- 8:09games thanks to the old Republic.
- 8:12I don't know a lot what I was what I think I was trying to get
- 8:15at earlier is like I know a pretty good amount about Star
- 8:18Wars. Like I read all the Star Wars
- 8:20books that are no longer Canon after Disney bought Star Wars.
- 8:23So like I'm, I feel like I'm a pretty like good Star Wars
- 8:30aficionado, but I don't know anything about the video games
- 8:34really. Did you ever have like the big
- 8:37like Star Wars encyclopedia? Do I still hold up?
- 8:41Oh, I I have one. Give me one second.
- 8:48Ignore the room if. You can see I love a good show
- 8:50and tell. From the from the depths of my
- 8:54library, my Star Wars. Library which you were able to,
- 9:02you were able to find immediately, Yes.
- 9:05Oh wow. My library is not very.
- 9:06Bad. That looks that looks mighty
- 9:09fancy. But it's got like everything in
- 9:17here, like everything reference just.
- 9:23I see that. I see the IG88 there.
- 9:25Yeah, let. Me.
- 9:28See what? Look open it right up to R2.
- 9:34Thank you for what would what would you say?
- 9:37That's fantastic. I you pretend like you didn't
- 9:40remember, but I I have a hunch that you read it every night.
- 9:47No, not at all. So other than Kotar, like what
- 9:54would you say? Like how do you rank like your
- 9:57favorite Star Wars games from a gameplay perspective and a like
- 10:02story perspective? The.
- 10:08Fucking Star Wars pod racer is obviously #1.
- 10:11Oh yeah, like old school. Like Nintendo 64.
- 10:14Nintendo or pod racer? Yeah, hold on, let me do my show
- 10:19and tell for a second. You guys know Men Quad?
- 10:23Yes. Are you familiar with Ben Quad?
- 10:27Oh. Yeah, yeah, the emo band Ben
- 10:32Quad, but also Ben Quadinars. This is their Wisher EP the the
- 10:38Star Wars version that they that they sold on on May 4th.
- 10:44It's like one of my favorite things here.
- 10:48Yes, I, I said that like 5050 is a joke, but it's definitely, I
- 10:55would say top three. Number one number one is Knights
- 11:01of the Old Republic two. Number two is Force Unleashed.
- 11:08OK. And #3 I'll, I'll give to Pod
- 11:11Racer, but I will say have. You played, have you played like
- 11:17the newer? What is the the newer?
- 11:20Jedi. Game Jedi Survivor I have not.
- 11:23My brothers told me about that though.
- 11:25He's played it a a bunch and he's he's been telling me I need
- 11:28to, I need to get on it, but I'm not.
- 11:32Yeah, I would not played it. I would say that one's I've I've
- 11:35played the first one. I have not played the second
- 11:37one, but it's it's it's pretty good if you like Star Wars
- 11:39games, if you like Knights of the Old Republic, especially
- 11:41like this one's very story driven, but the game plays also
- 11:45very good. Everybody's persuading me I'm
- 11:47going. To have to do it.
- 11:49I'm not an easy person to change, but I'll I'll make an
- 11:53exception. And you can get it, especially
- 11:56like the first one. I feel like you can get pretty
- 11:58cheap. Like nowadays, I don't know, I
- 12:02don't know. I, I feel like I've, I got that
- 12:04one on sale for not too much money.
- 12:07Anyways, what other kind of video games do you do you play?
- 12:11Do you play like are you a gamer Turner?
- 12:14Or I'll play like the wrestling games, couple racing games.
- 12:20Big fan of the Need for Speed franchise.
- 12:24Been trying to get into Need for Speed heat.
- 12:27I kind of suck at it. The games have evolved since I
- 12:31started playing, and it's very hard to, you know, beat people.
- 12:38Turner's also not mentioning absolute beast at Tony Hawk Pro
- 12:44Skater. Stop.
- 12:49The first time I saw this man play, he just may not.
- 12:53I didn't know you could get a score that high, truthfully.
- 12:58I didn't either, you know? That's not true, I say.
- 13:03That's not. True.
- 13:04Yeah, Tony Hawk is a game I could play for hours just
- 13:07sitting on the couch and. What's your what's your favorite
- 13:12Tony Hawk entry? Are you playing like the like
- 13:14the newer like remix? The newest remix one, yeah.
- 13:20If I went back, I'd probably say 3. 3 yeah, 3 is good.
- 13:24I really like and I I really hope that it gets a remake.
- 13:28I really like Tony Hawk Underground.
- 13:31Yeah, they they did one and two and three and four.
- 13:36And I'm hoping they do the Underground series.
- 13:39Underground was so much, I just remember like connecting, I
- 13:43think my like PlayStation 2 or whatever it was out on at the
- 13:47time to the Internet for like the first time and being unlike
- 13:50skating around with other people skating.
- 13:52What is happening? Have you have you played skate
- 13:57at all? I've tried it's it's very hard.
- 14:01It's more more of like a simulation.
- 14:07I like how real it is, but I hate how real it is.
- 14:10I just want to do like a kick flip dude.
- 14:13And I'm barely owning. It's like real life.
- 14:17I suck at skating in real life. Yeah, if you can't skate in real
- 14:21in real life, it's a lot more fun on Tony Hawk.
- 14:24Where you. Yeah.
- 14:25That's exactly what Tony Hawk person.
- 14:27Is skate on grass. And what a great soundtrack to
- 14:34like an amazing soundtrack in in like every one of the games.
- 14:40Is there a are there any songs that you that you have like
- 14:43taken out of? And I'll like expand that too,
- 14:46to like Need for Speed. But like, they're like songs
- 14:49that you've heard in video games that have become like songs that
- 14:52you've listened to on the regular.
- 14:55Body jar not the same and need for speed.
- 15:00It was a bullet for my Valentine hand of blood.
- 15:03Eventually into metal core. And then sevenfold.
- 15:08And Tony Ark Pro Skater 3 had a AFI on it.
- 15:19Wasn't Jimmy? I'm pretty sure Jimmy World.
- 15:26I think they they were in a they're in midnight club.
- 15:32Jimmy World and Pain is a great song too.
- 15:36Takes my pain away. Futures is, well, I don't know.
- 15:40I have a lot of, I have a lot of love for Jimmy World, but
- 15:44Futures is maybe my favorite album by them.
- 15:47It's very good. Yeah, it's in my opinion, it's
- 15:51like, I'm not going to say Pete because I think they've always
- 15:54had like a great sound, but just with that album, they hit their
- 15:59sweet spot. Yeah, yeah, definitely like a
- 16:05more mature than Bleed American, but like, yeah, yeah, for me, I
- 16:15think like I, I, I look back to like Tony Hawk, the original
- 16:19Tony Hawk and like the ska songs on that were like definitive for
- 16:24me, like like Less Than Jake and Goldfinger.
- 16:29Have you heard any of the Have you heard any of the soundtrack
- 16:32for the new ones? For the new.
- 16:37For the new Tony or the the remix Tony Hawk games, because
- 16:41they've got a gosh, it's I want to say they're called junk.
- 16:47Bunny. I don't.
- 16:50I don't know this. Yeah, Junk Bunny, but it's
- 16:54called Sedona. It's a really good freaking
- 16:57song. That's my list.
- 17:04I've. I don't know that I've ever
- 17:05heard that. Yeah, I, I'd never heard it
- 17:09until I started playing the game and I was like, hey, this, this
- 17:11is really nice to just, you know, play this game to you.
- 17:18Yeah. A nice nice to jump through a
- 17:23window and try and get the secret videotape too, yeah.
- 17:27A great soundtrack to get a top of Turner's score.
- 17:34What wrestling games are you playing?
- 17:36I that's when I talked to Mike back on Episode 1.
- 17:42Like that was my only time that I've ever really gotten into it
- 17:46to wrestling was like my my buddy had like AI think it was
- 17:52Nintendo 64 is how old this this, this story is.
- 17:56He had a a wrestling game that we would play and just hit each
- 17:59other with chairs and it was my I like, I loved it.
- 18:04This my show until now. WrestleMania 2000.
- 18:08It might have been that game. Yeah, and WCWNWO Revenge, also a
- 18:15good one. I'd show you No Mercy WWF, but
- 18:20it's in somewhere and I just, I just moved here so I don't know
- 18:25where all my stuff is. I love that, that I'm like,
- 18:29yeah, we, we played Nintendo 64. It's so old and you just pull
- 18:32the cartridges out like it's nothing.
- 18:35But yeah, prize possessions. So you're like like more like a
- 18:41retro gamer then or or at? Least do some.
- 18:44Retro gaming. I do a little bit.
- 18:47I got my PlayStation two right here, I got APS 4 like right in
- 18:51front of me, Xbox One in the living room and my Nintendo 60
- 18:56fours in the box somewhere. But I try and keep it retro and
- 19:03nude. Love it.
- 19:06And. I'm in the box.
- 19:08Oh yeah. I was here real quick, my little
- 19:15collection. I was going to say the the
- 19:17Nintendo 64 is in the box, but the wrestling cartridges are
- 19:20right by the computer. Yeah, you never know when you're
- 19:24going to need a. Whole library of PS2 games.
- 19:27We love to see it. It's a beautiful thing to see
- 19:31every time I go over there. Get the little CRTTV up.
- 19:39Yeah, I feel like my kids will just never know that joy as as
- 19:47as well as I do. They're definitely not as
- 19:54impressed by like the polygons in Nintendo 64 games, but that's
- 20:00when like, gaming was peak back then.
- 20:03I feel I'm I feel like a super old grandpa talking about it
- 20:07like that, but like that's when they make games good.
- 20:10Now it's kind of like just re re for rehashed stuff most of the
- 20:14time or a lot of the time at least, but.
- 20:16Yeah, I feel like back then to, you know, the the graphics
- 20:19weren't the greatest, so you still had to use your
- 20:21imagination to a certain extent. Yeah.
- 20:24You know, that's what made it so wondrous was just you.
- 20:27You had to use your imagination. It's like especially with like
- 20:30the movie based games or something like that, you were
- 20:33like, does that look like them? Yeah, and I'm sure there's a ton
- 20:38of like rose colored nostalgia for me as well there, but but
- 20:44it's good stuff. Did you play the the remastered
- 20:47version of Double O 7 Golden Eye?
- 20:50I have nots. It's a whole lot easier to play
- 20:53now. Yeah, Well, yeah, they have it
- 20:55on. They have it on Game Pass.
- 20:59It was going back and playing Goldeneye on the 64 just with
- 21:03one joystick is just torture once you played with two.
- 21:09It's crazy to think that that's how we lived back then.
- 21:13I, I was reminded of that when they when they just had the,
- 21:18the, the Ocarina Time remix or RE remake Nintendo announcement
- 21:26and they were talking about how you can move the camera now.
- 21:28Because in the original version you just had one joystick so you
- 21:31couldn't move the camera. It was just whatever way Link
- 21:34was facing. That's what you saw.
- 21:36Yep. Cool.
- 21:41Any other like retro games that you guys are into or?
- 21:48I mean, most of my stuff is like PlayStation two games.
- 21:51I could I could go on and on about my library.
- 21:56Yeah, I. Do what?
- 21:57What do you got in there? Shoot.
- 22:00Well, I actually, I just went Raleigh has something called
- 22:04like the Vintage Bazaar. So most of the time it's just a
- 22:08bunch of like vintage clothes and stuff like that.
- 22:12However, they also have like vintage and retro games and so I
- 22:19don't know if you're you were ever into Jimmy Neutron.
- 22:22I was, but I found this gym. It's the Jimmy Neutron jet
- 22:30fusion game unless yeah, that one.
- 22:34Actually, I think I got it for a pretty good deal because most of
- 22:36the time I see it online, it's it's pretty pricey.
- 22:40And then got the good old rabbits.
- 22:44Iconic. Can't beat the rabbits.
- 22:46Yep, and. My girlfriend has never played
- 22:51any of the guitar heroes or rock bands, so while I was there
- 22:55grabbed some Guitar Hero 2 and Guitar Hero 3.
- 23:00She doesn't know the pain of trying to play through the fire
- 23:03and the flames. Oh no, I so this is going to
- 23:11date me and I'm I'm pretty sure I'm a good at least 10 years
- 23:16older than you guys, if not older based off of this
- 23:19conversation. But I was working at game.
- 23:23Do you remember game crazy? It was like inside of Hollywood
- 23:25Video. I do not.
- 23:29No, yeah. So it was like it was a game
- 23:32store, but it was inside of the video rental store.
- 23:34So you had to go inside the video rental store and then back
- 23:36in a cage. They kept a bunch of video games
- 23:40and a sweaty teenager to sell them.
- 23:42And now I was that sweaty teenager.
- 23:44And it was like in the time of like Nintendo DS was like brand
- 23:51new while I was working there. Then the original Nintendo Wii
- 23:54was brand new so it was like PS2 time.
- 23:57And I remember when we got Guitar Hero in the I I don't
- 24:03think I did any work for like 3 months.
- 24:07Well I just played Guitar Hero on the like display stand in the
- 24:12in the game. Crazy.
- 24:13That's so understandable. That's so understandable.
- 24:19How? How good did you get it's?
- 24:22Still not good, No. Yeah, I definitely the the
- 24:25amount of time I put into it was not commiserate with the skill
- 24:30level, which is very low. Definitely.
- 24:33I think I definitely wasn't the hard level.
- 24:35Yeah, I can play hard level. I could play expert on some
- 24:38songs. I don't know that I could even
- 24:40play hard level on on Through the Fire.
- 24:44I I. Can I mean the easy goes on easy
- 24:48that that? Yeah, that goes on easy for me.
- 24:54I, I love those games though. One of the first things that I
- 24:59bought, that my wife and I bought when we got married was
- 25:02Rock Band on like the PlayStation 4 I think.
- 25:05And we would play like we bought all the Fall Out Boy expansion
- 25:14songs, all the killers. Yeah, Green Day, I think also
- 25:18had like a whole, a whole thing on, on, on that game.
- 25:21I I think it was Rock Band 4 maybe, or Rock Band 3.
- 25:25I don't know. I don't even.
- 25:26Remember, there was that Guitar Hero.
- 25:28That was Guitar Hero. I Yeah.
- 25:32I remember 'cause I I had it, the first Guitar Hero game I got
- 25:35for the PS2, my parents got it for me for Christmas and it was
- 25:39the like the the 80s one. And I'm pretty sure I got that.
- 25:44I got that one Aerosmith one. Yeah, it had.
- 25:51I swear it had Oingo Boingo up there too.
- 25:56Let's see, I let me pull up the list that I know from my heart
- 26:00and didn't just Google. I'll see Oingo Boingo.
- 26:08Maybe it was Rock Band. That's some great songs though.
- 26:18I mean like classic rock. Like, yeah, they had Franz
- 26:30Ferdinand Take Me Out. That was one of my favourites to
- 26:32play for sure. Which one was that?
- 26:35On more than a feeling, that's like Guitar Hero 1.
- 26:40Oh yeah, I never had. You So you had Guitar Hero 2?
- 26:46No, I had the it's like the 80s one.
- 26:49It's called rocks, the 80s. The 80s.
- 26:51Rocks the 80s. I see.
- 26:53Never mind I'm I'm looking at the wrong thing.
- 26:55I. Just remember Only a Lad.
- 27:00Yeah, by Oingo Boingo, you're right.
- 27:06Did you have like a go to song when you played Guitar Hero?
- 27:11Any of them. Me or or Jordan?
- 27:15Either one of y'all. I'll let you go, Phil.
- 27:20I I mean, and I'm looking at like the original list, I would
- 27:24say Take Me Out was probably that for me or let's see,
- 27:30there's Take Me Out and then more than a feeling, you know,
- 27:36nothing like a little Boston. I heard that.
- 27:38I heard that song today in the wild.
- 27:41I love Boston. Yep.
- 27:46Oh and fat lip by Sum 41. I forgot that was on there.
- 27:50That was a good one. That's.
- 27:51Which one is that on? That's on the original, but
- 27:57yeah, the original PlayStation 2, Yep.
- 28:03Did y'all ever had a? Hero. 2.
- 28:06I did a fucking hand. This this week he doesn't have a
- 28:09list song list you say? Buckethead.
- 28:14Yeah, the song was called Jordan, ironically.
- 28:19Hey, there you go. Oh, yeah, that I they had this
- 28:25was a great. They had Killing in the name of
- 28:31Message in the Bottle by the Police, which is a great song.
- 28:35I love that song. Woman by Wolfmother.
- 28:39That's a good song. I feel like my most of my
- 28:41classical, my classic rock knowledge comes from Guitar
- 28:47Hero. I would probably say I at least
- 28:53my at least my love for for a lot of it.
- 28:56Yeah, my dad like, loves like 80s hair metal.
- 29:00So I got a lot of that. I got a lot of that from him.
- 29:05But I'm I'm looking at the Rock Band like the song list for the
- 29:11original 1 and I'm remembering so many songs that I forgot was
- 29:16up there. I don't even remember Dead on
- 29:19Arrival by Fall Out Boy being up.
- 29:20There creep when we were young by the killers.
- 29:25Don't fear the Reaper. Oh yeah, Danny, California.
- 29:29I remember hearing that song for the first time.
- 29:32Epic by Faith No More. That makes me want to get a
- 29:35guitar controller and play Rock Band.
- 29:38Flirting with Disaster by Molly Hatchet.
- 29:40What a song. Is this is this the first rock
- 29:43band? This is welcome.
- 29:45Homeless on there by cooking and Cambria.
- 29:48I don't remember that but. So I think that may have been
- 29:51one of the bonus ones. Maybe yeah, my favorite Weezer
- 29:59song. Say it ain't so.
- 30:02I remember that's how I found Learn to Fly by Foo Fighters.
- 30:07Yeah, I remember cuz like in the bridge whenever like he takes
- 30:11his voice lower than the rest of the song.
- 30:13I was like 8 years old or something.
- 30:15I could not hit that. I was so mad.
- 30:20I always failed that song. Had to wait a few more years.
- 30:27Oh, what else? So.
- 30:27I'm gonna, I'm gonna take, I'm gonna take this opportunity to
- 30:31like cut over to another thing that you listed.
- 30:35And we could spend as little or as much time on this as you
- 30:37want, but you had boy bands listed as, as one of your
- 30:41things. I'd love to hear your.
- 30:45I'd love to hear your boy bands take on things.
- 30:53The world would be a lot better place if there were still boy
- 30:55bands is my opinion. Good ones.
- 31:01Good ones? What are who?
- 31:02Who would you consider good boy bands?
- 31:06I know they're always pitted against each other, but *NSYNC
- 31:09and Backstreet Boys, Boys to men.
- 31:11I know that was probably going to be 1 of Turner's answers, 98°
- 31:20and so for real, I guess you could they'd be considered 1.
- 31:24I don't know if they'd be more of a vocal group.
- 31:27Yeah, yeah, that's a boy band. Turner knows a lot more than me,
- 31:30too. I'm going to pass it on to
- 31:31Turner. I've named my 6.
- 31:32OK, so yeah, Backstreet Boys In Sync, 98° for sure.
- 31:41Big Time Rush. They they were later later on.
- 31:44How could I forget? How could I forget?
- 31:52But yeah, that boy bands were like huge when I was growing up.
- 31:58And yeah, the world would be a better place if we had more
- 32:02songs like that. It seems like we've we've gotten
- 32:09out of that phase of music. We've evolved.
- 32:12I guess we need to go back to what were we?
- 32:15Saying I was. I was going to say, do you
- 32:18remember the band together? They were like a joke boy band,
- 32:22but also like really good. No that I need to they have like
- 32:28a. Whole movie yeah, it's like
- 32:30together they had a song called You plus me equals us.
- 32:34There's like one random old guy in the band.
- 32:37It's yeah, it's it's it's pretty funny yeah.
- 32:41I I I I, I would definitely say I was like a secret boy band
- 32:49enjoyer like 2. It wasn't.
- 32:51Cool to light. It wasn't cool to light boy
- 32:53bands growing up. I.
- 32:56Look back in there like man, this music is actually really
- 32:58good. Yeah, he's like.
- 32:59Songwriters. I had absolutely no social cues
- 33:03about it. So like my mom had to like
- 33:06explain to me that, like sometimes people found that kind
- 33:09of like corny, like I'd go to school singing *NSYNC.
- 33:15I remember my mom. I don't remember if it was the
- 33:18greatest hits, but it was like a White Album and it had each of
- 33:21their faces like in like singular slots on the front, I
- 33:26don't remember which. I think that was the first
- 33:28album. Was that the first album?
- 33:30That's the first one had that album and it lived in her CD
- 33:34player. Who's who?
- 33:36Who did I swear Turner? Was it all for one?
- 33:40That's all for one that I forgot should have listed them.
- 33:47What was the There was that band that that started as a as like a
- 33:53reality TV show? What was that band called?
- 34:00Reality TV show. Yeah, there was a reality TV
- 34:05show and I'm I'm going to remember this later and I'm
- 34:09going to feel really dumb. No, this was like back in the
- 34:13day. They had like one song that was
- 34:19that was really good. It's not One Direction, is it?
- 34:24No, this is a similar idea but it was they all like lived in
- 34:29the same house and. Wait, are you talking about the
- 34:36Naked Brothers Band? No, no, no, no, no.
- 34:42Sorry, I was you said reality show and that was kind of framed
- 34:48like when it. Was it was like a reality TV
- 34:50show and now I feel now I feel really dumb.
- 34:52What was what in the heck? I'm over here Googling which is.
- 34:56O Town. O Town.
- 34:59It was O town. Is that because I want it all?
- 35:06They're not in at all. Yeah, I think so.
- 35:09There's no in it that's a good song.
- 35:13Yeah, they had like that, that. Band spawned from like ATV show
- 35:17called Making the Band. I did not know that.
- 35:22Oh, there you go, I some of my old man knowledge passed on to
- 35:25you about boy bands. I don't know if y'all remember,
- 35:28do y'all remember when Sumerian Records did like their own kind
- 35:31of like version of like making artists better?
- 35:35It was almost like an America's Got Talent type of thing, but
- 35:40it's like artists or bands would come up and they'd perform and
- 35:44then they would get reviewed by like, I remember Tosun Abbasi
- 35:48was up there fucking Gavin Rossdale from Bush, who I think
- 35:53is a fucking pretentious Dick, but he's a good songwriter.
- 35:58What was it?
- 36:12I think it's called No Cover. Yeah.
- 36:18That wasn't even that long ago. Nah it was.
- 36:21It was pretty like post 2020 post shift in the universe.
- 36:31Post post corvid corvid COVID. I have the corvid.
- 36:38That's cool. I'm not add this to my list.
- 36:41Yeah, post, post corvid Post corvid.
- 36:44My my kids make fun of me because I can't pronounce
- 36:50anything. My kids make fun of me for a lot
- 36:52of reasons. I have it.
- 36:55Terrible. I believe you're talking.
- 36:58Words are not my friend. It's hard.
- 37:02So let's, let's let's talk wrestling for a minute.
- 37:04Turner I I don't know very much. As I've mentioned, I've gotten a
- 37:10little more into it since I talked to Mike.
- 37:13What is what is your like entry point to wrestling?
- 37:16Like were like, were you like wrestling with your your
- 37:19siblings as a kid or your friends as a kid?
- 37:21Like what? What was?
- 37:21Your my cousin. My cousin had a bunch of like
- 37:25wrestling video games. I'd go over to his house and
- 37:28play it. He had this one right here,
- 37:32played that, and then on the weekends when this came out, we
- 37:35would go rent this every single weekend and play it.
- 37:38And then I'm like, oh, this is so cool.
- 37:40He's like, well, you know, we can watch it.
- 37:42And so I got introduced to wrestling from the video games.
- 37:46I'm like, that's Stone Cold. Oh my, that's The Rock.
- 37:50That he's a real person. That's so cool.
- 37:52Remember, you had to use your imagination though.
- 37:55That's what made it so much more magical.
- 37:58And they were all polygons. And like, he's like shaped like
- 38:01a real person in real life. Who's your who'd he say is your
- 38:06like, favorite wrestler? Tag team, Tag team, that would
- 38:10be the Hardy Boys because they're North Carolina and all
- 38:15of all time, I guess would be Stone Cold Steve Austin.
- 38:18They don't take no shit. That's a good pick.
- 38:23That's a good pick. Mine is Edge.
- 38:26And it was. It was funny.
- 38:28Yeah, Edge. When I was a kid, so when Stone
- 38:35Cold would come out, you hear the the glass break and he'd
- 38:38like come come out to the ring. The Offspring had like a radio
- 38:43edit version of why don't you get a job?
- 38:47And they say my friend has a girlfriend and he hates that.
- 38:52And they would use glass breaking to bleep out the curse
- 38:54word. I would play that song like in
- 38:57my room and when the glass broke out, I'll walk into my room like
- 38:59stone cold. To the offspring.
- 39:03Fantastic. I love That was your That's Your
- 39:06walk on song, huh? That's that's the one.
- 39:10Love it. And now I have a job and I hate
- 39:14it. Yeah, that I have a job.
- 39:17Yes, me too. I, I think my, so I'm going to,
- 39:25I'm like, one of the things that I remember a lot from those
- 39:30games is playing as like mankind and like his finisher is just
- 39:35pulling out. Mr. Sacco.
- 39:37And. What is this?
- 39:39But I love it, you know? I still don't understand the
- 39:42wrestling physics of how that move is supposed to like knock
- 39:45you out, but I guess it works. Yeah.
- 39:49So. You know the sock.
- 39:53When I was a kid I thought it was like the sock smelled so bad
- 39:57that like it just you're just like.
- 40:01I mean, you're probably right. I mean, you know where he pulled
- 40:05it out of his pants. So like, who knows where that
- 40:07sock's been? Who knows, it could have been.
- 40:10He could have been in there for a long time.
- 40:12Big footy guy. Mid match, lots of sweat.
- 40:17Yeah, that's awful. That's why he did it at the end.
- 40:21Was a who's a wrestler Santino The wasn't even the.
- 40:27Santino Marella Yeah, yeah. Santino Marella.
- 40:34He's he's funny. I am not familiar with him, but
- 40:40interesting. He's got a similar, kind of
- 40:44similar concept like a Yeah, he doesn't sticking like in your
- 40:48mouth, but he sticks it on and wrestling's weird.
- 40:58It is weird. Are you, so I know you mentioned
- 41:01you're not like, are you a current wrestling fan?
- 41:04Like do you keep up with any of the?
- 41:07I dip in and out. I'm kind of keeping up with
- 41:10everything on Instagram. I see like all the stuff going
- 41:13on solo. Sokola, he's doing his best work
- 41:17right now. He was originally just like a
- 41:19silent badass, and now he's kind of more of a comedic Comic
- 41:25Relief character. He's really getting over with
- 41:28the crowd. I love to see it because like,
- 41:31it's just his characters night and day from where he started.
- 41:35Yeah. He was like an enforcer for
- 41:37Roman Reigns and now he's like get just making the crowd laugh
- 41:42and it's it's good to see. Do you watch any AEW?
- 41:47Yeah, a little bit. Not right now.
- 41:51I started, I watched it when it like first started.
- 41:55Young Bucks are a great tag team.
- 42:00Chris Cherico's still out there. Really.
- 42:04Yeah. Chris Cherico.
- 42:09Hangman, Adam. Page, Simmons, Forbes,
- 42:11Strickland had this brutal death match.
- 42:15A lot of thumbtacks, a lot of blood, if you're into that kind
- 42:21of thing. Do you feel like watching
- 42:24wrestling makes you a better musician?
- 42:29That's a good question. It kind of makes me put into
- 42:34perspective like what would what would they be fighting over like
- 42:38music wise right now? Like how can I put, how can I
- 42:42put this match into music? So you you think about like the
- 42:48song that we playing in the background.
- 42:50Yeah, if it was a movie like what song would what found it
- 42:54song would be playing in the background And why is it front
- 42:57row seats? Any any high adrenaline event
- 43:03it's automatically front row seats.
- 43:10So F1's another one that you guys have here.
- 43:12And another thing that I honestly know absolutely nothing
- 43:15about is that, is that a shared interest as well?
- 43:20That's a me interest. I'm a relatively new F1 fan.
- 43:25So quick story, I used to watch NASCAR when I was younger.
- 43:30Maybe about 1015 years ago, I worked at a radio station that
- 43:34would play the radio broadcast. And over the years, I've just
- 43:39stopped listening and watching NASCAR.
- 43:42And Kyle Busch passed away this past May.
- 43:46I believe it was the weekend of the Coke 600.
- 43:50So I decided to, like, get back and, like, see all the tributes
- 43:54and stuff to him and start watching the race.
- 43:57I'm like, oh, yeah, I used to watch this.
- 44:01Yeah, this is kind of awesome. And then it just gravitated.
- 44:06It grew from there. I'm like, oh, we'll see what
- 44:08this F1 thing is all about. Oh, IndyCar is cool too and just
- 44:13kind of got into all stuff racing.
- 44:16So give me a little bit more about that.
- 44:21Like especially especially like comparing them as someone who
- 44:25knows nothing. Like I've I've seen NASCAR on TV
- 44:29but never actually watched it. Like what's the difference from?
- 44:34I mean, I know obviously the the types of cars are different, but
- 44:37what what's the difference between watching it a NASCAR
- 44:40race and watching an F1 race? Well, NASCAR, they're most of
- 44:46the time just driving in a circle and F1, I guess the cars
- 44:52are a whole lot faster and they drive mostly on my Rd. courses
- 44:56where they kind of different kinds of turns and stuff.
- 45:01Same thing with IndyCar, but they do race on Oval ovals and
- 45:05IndyCar. But NASCAR, I guess I, I grew up
- 45:09watching it, so I'm more gravitating towards it.
- 45:12But I do have like a love for F1.
- 45:16Yeah. What it what is it about NASCAR
- 45:20that you that like is is compelling?
- 45:23Like how do you is it the I know again, like I know very little
- 45:28about it. So help me understand, like why
- 45:31would someone want to get into NASCAR?
- 45:33Like, what is it about it that draws you in?
- 45:37If you like watching people drive fast, I guess the strategy
- 45:42of like, OK, I need to get 2 tires at this pit stop.
- 45:46I need to get a quarter tank of fuel.
- 45:50Just the strategy that goes into it and staying on the lead lap
- 45:54and who is at the end of it over like 500 miles after three,
- 46:00three hours of like driving just a lot of washing cars, driving
- 46:09circles out on that. And it's easy to follow.
- 46:12When you enjoy looked at it, but yeah.
- 46:16There beer makes everything better, I guess.
- 46:22The last thing on the list here is nostalgia and it says old
- 46:26commercials and viral videos. So.
- 46:29What's Jordan? Yeah, give me give me some, some
- 46:33examples of of. What that means, I feel like
- 46:36that's Turner too. But I like, you know, like I
- 46:40don't know if you remember like llamas with hats or the little
- 46:43like marshmallow people with like triangle lady.
- 46:48I don't know if you remember that I.
- 46:50Don't know what you're talking about, but.
- 46:52It's like, it's like old YouTube, Yeah.
- 46:56OK, I do. I do.
- 46:58Yeah, yeah, yeah, yeah, yeah. I don't know.
- 47:00I I I vaguely remember watching llamas with Hats.
- 47:05One that. No idea what that is.
- 47:07One that is like around the same time that by the same creator it
- 47:14looks like is Charlie the Unicorn.
- 47:18Oh yeah, I love Charlie the Unicorn.
- 47:22Turner, you don't remember llamas with hats.
- 47:27It doesn't ring a bell. Why would you do that?
- 47:32This poor human? You don't remember that?
- 47:38Well, this is this is very exciting.
- 47:43I forgot that llamas with hats existed, my kids, our big
- 47:48Charlie the Unicorn fans, and now I have a whole new series of
- 47:53things to show them. So thank you whole new.
- 47:55Series. But do you know what is the
- 47:58marshmallow? Marshmallow people.
- 48:03Yeah. I think it's just called
- 48:07marshmallow people. Oh, it is, yeah.
- 48:09So. I don't know why, but like when
- 48:11it first came out, I used to love annoying Orange.
- 48:14Like that was that was right up my I was right up my alley.
- 48:18That and Weird Al. I had a crazy Weird Al phase
- 48:21when I was like 10. Like feel like that's a phase
- 48:23that you should never grow out of.
- 48:25It's, you know. Well, yeah, I mean, you still
- 48:29listen. But like I was, I knew every
- 48:35song that like he had at the time, word for word, like white
- 48:41and nerdy. I lived by that.
- 48:45Eat it. I also lived by that.
- 48:49Sure. Have you seen the the biopic
- 48:55with yeah, Daniel Radcliffe? Yeah, we watched.
- 48:59Hilarious. Yeah.
- 49:01It was great. It's so good the.
- 49:03Madonna. What are some other?
- 49:06What are some other like old school YouTube things that you
- 49:11were into? Oh.
- 49:13Man just thinking about old youtubers or is this dude his
- 49:18username just used to be Damian but then he went by like make me
- 49:23bad 35 this. He just used to be very, like,
- 49:28screaming at you, almost like through the camera.
- 49:32And it was, you know, I was already bouncing off the walls
- 49:36as a kid, and that type of energy was bouncing off the
- 49:39walls. So it was, it just seemed to
- 49:42work. It seemed to be right up my
- 49:44alley. That, and he also played guitar.
- 49:46And I was like, ah, this guy's this guy.
- 49:48Like, he's funny and he can play a mean riff.
- 49:52Heck yeah. But very, very old, like YouTube
- 49:58stuff and like old YouTube humor, like back in the day.
- 50:03But whenever I think I'm old YouTube, that's who I that's
- 50:07who, you know, really comes to mind that like fucking Jenna
- 50:11Marbles. I used to watch Jenna Marbles
- 50:14all the time. Yeah.
- 50:16Remember when. Oh my God, she is.
- 50:25She is something else. It's not YouTube per SE because
- 50:32it started as like a flash website.
- 50:33Do you ever watch any like home star runner?
- 50:37I don't think so, no. No, you guys are too young.
- 50:42What was a little it's just a little too it's it's pre YouTube
- 50:45I think by a couple years. Have you ever seen like Teen
- 50:49Girl Squad? I don't think I have.
- 50:56That's another good one. If you if you like, like Charlie
- 50:59the Unicorn and that that the marshmallow people that kind of
- 51:02stuff like teen girl squads. Also very good.
- 51:05I have. To check that out, that that's
- 51:08so right up my alley. Yeah, yeah.
- 51:12I'll send it. I'll send you.
- 51:13I'll send you those recommendations.
- 51:19Yeah, I I was very much into the, like, home star runner of
- 51:25it all. It was, it was a website
- 51:27calledhomestarrunner.com. It was like a Flash website.
- 51:30And so they were just Flash cartoons and they were these
- 51:33weird characters. There was a character named
- 51:36Strongbat who would answer emails every week.
- 51:38And he was like a wrestler. Like he had like a luchador mask
- 51:42on and boxing gloves and he would just sit at his computer
- 51:47in his boxing gloves and type responses to emails.
- 51:51That's where like Trogdor the burn inator comes from.
- 51:53I don't know if are you familiar with that at all.
- 51:57I'm saying. Stuff out and you guys are like,
- 51:58I have no idea what that is. What's that?
- 52:03It's good. I'll give you a list of of
- 52:05things to check out. We'll have to post ball.
- 52:11Fingers you ever. You ever?
- 52:13Oh my God, yeah, I I love salad things.
- 52:18Yeah, I like it when the red water, it still freaks me.
- 52:20Out to this day the. The the lore and everything
- 52:25behind it is crazy. I used to that and like Jeff the
- 52:29killer had me in like a not a trance, but I was just so
- 52:34fascinated, was so creepy and so interesting at the same time.
- 52:39Yeah, yeah, I, I also did a whole episode not on, not on
- 52:45creepypasta so much. We did talk about creepypasta a
- 52:48little bit, but we it was more like SCP focused with Brandon
- 52:52from Aren't We Amphibians? That's another thing that I
- 52:58don't know that much about, but like, I think there's this like,
- 53:04weird internal fascination in every human being that's like,
- 53:08that kind of scares me. And now I need to read about it
- 53:11on the Internet. That's a cool thing, and it's.
- 53:15Like we have murdered documents. Too 'cause they make games about
- 53:18the creepypasta. Yeah, the murder documentaries.
- 53:21Yeah, yeah. Or like, like the back rooms,
- 53:26right? Yeah.
- 53:28The slendering. Games liminal space thing.
- 53:31Well, we are. We're getting close to time
- 53:34here. Let's talk about Found it for a
- 53:36few minutes. So you guys just put out a new
- 53:40album? I was at your release show which
- 53:42was so much fun. Thank you.
- 53:46Thank you. Thank you like the and for for
- 53:51people listening to weren't there, which is probably most of
- 53:53the people. It was at this place in Raleigh
- 53:57called Neptunes. And at 10:00, it stops being a
- 54:01venue and they start doing like emo karaoke night.
- 54:07And so the show went kind of long and you guys like started
- 54:09playing at 10:00. And so the room was just full,
- 54:13like packed with founded fans, but also with all these like,
- 54:18emo karaoke people who were showing up for emo karaoke.
- 54:21And hopefully new founded fans. New founded fans.
- 54:25That's that's right. That's what we call it.
- 54:27You, you can recognize people who come out to like your shows
- 54:32in the area often, especially like when you're like us and
- 54:34you're still playing locally. I, I saw people who I've never
- 54:38seen before, like with their phones out recording us.
- 54:41I was like, hey, you know, how are you?
- 54:45I hope we sound all right out there.
- 54:46I can't tell but. You sounded great.
- 54:51It was my first time at a founded show, which I think is
- 54:53funny because it was also like my 8th time at a Blank State
- 54:57show this year and somehow I haven't been to a found it show.
- 55:00But I, I was, I was very excited.
- 55:05I, I definitely, I love the new album.
- 55:08I don't know a whole lot of your older music to be fair, but the
- 55:12new album is very good. What is the name of the new
- 55:14album again? A goodbye letter to you and.
- 55:19That came out last week. Yes, it.
- 55:23She's in about. Two hours and 55 minutes.
- 55:27It'll have been out in the OR 4 weeks all.
- 55:32Right. And for people listening to this
- 55:33like 3 or 4 weeks from now that that was the September 4th.
- 55:40September 4th, 2025. Very, very catchy.
- 55:48Thank you, I I am terrible at names and that has nothing to do
- 55:53with how much I actually like the song so I'm looking it up.
- 55:56I found it sucks to be friends with the guys and found it is so
- 56:01catchy. I wake up with that song stuck
- 56:03in my head sometimes. It's good, It's good.
- 56:08That's good. Well, that, that means a lot to
- 56:11hear 'cause like, you know, we, we make the music for ourselves.
- 56:15But I, I had this conversation with my partner.
- 56:18It's, it's nice for us to write things and either people be
- 56:22like, oh, hey, that sounds good, or like it, it resonate with
- 56:25somebody in some kind of way. It, it, it's very fulfilling.
- 56:29Like it's very fulfilling. So it's, it's, it's nice to see
- 56:32that and to hear about it. And and thank you for listening.
- 56:36Well I'm definitely a big fan. So you found at least one new
- 56:41fan with with a goodbye letter to you.
- 56:43I'm sure you will find a a lot more.
- 56:47Hopefully you know some like people.
- 56:48Go check it out. Go check out a goodbye letter to
- 56:51you. I know you guys have a few shows
- 56:53coming up as well. Yeah, we've, let's see on
- 56:59September 26th, I believe it is, that's a Saturday we're playing,
- 57:04we're playing a BMX event, which is pretty sick.
- 57:08They're having a competition and they're just people riding
- 57:12around. They call it a jam, but it's
- 57:15pretty cool. Me and Turner have played at one
- 57:17before, but yeah, this time we're we're playing as us and
- 57:23it's going to happen after the event.
- 57:26And then you guys are playing in Tennessee at like a like a punk
- 57:29rock prom or something like your emo prom or something like that.
- 57:33So we we've played in Johnson City before at Capone's and it
- 57:38was a great. It's actually a pretty cool
- 57:39setup. They have a little club in the
- 57:41back. So like while we're playing and
- 57:43like we have a crowd, there's people going into the club and
- 57:46then people either going into the club or out of the club
- 57:48would sometimes just come over and just watch the set.
- 57:51So it's a pretty cool setup because both places jump pretty
- 57:55good. But yeah, we're we're doing an
- 57:58emo prom out there, which it's our first time doing something
- 58:02like that. So you know, we're we're going
- 58:04to bring some covers. Got a bust out the old Fall Out
- 58:07Boy. Love it.
- 58:12When is that? That is October I believe.
- 58:18I don't want to give you the wrong date, October 24th.
- 58:24All right, well, thank you guys for coming on and and talking to
- 58:30me for a little while. If you haven't had go check out
- 58:34found it wherever you stream music and if you're in the area,
- 58:41make sure you go down to a found it jokes.
- 58:42They're you guys have a ton of energy.
- 58:44It's a lot of fun. Really enjoy it.
- 58:47Thank you. We try.
- 58:48We. Really appreciate it man.
