- 0:00Speaker 1: Yeah, that Uh, Chuck Norris was chasing the Tyrannosaurus Rex.
- 0:05Speaker 2: The rex was not chasing the jeep.
- 0:08Speaker 3: Murray, Murray, you there.
- 0:09Speaker 2: You love sandwiches. Huh, Let's go to uh eighty.
- 0:13Speaker 3: It was bo.
- 0:16Speaker 2: Wow that prime time. Maybe I had a crush on
- 0:18Speaker 2: Betty Rubble.
- 0:19Speaker 1: I honestly, until after the segment ended and we went
- 0:22Speaker 1: to a commercial break, had no idea that Jonathan Coachman
- 0:25Speaker 1: was black.
- 0:25Speaker 2: He caught them the game last night, although they won
- 0:28Speaker 2: the game. You're listening just to Godson Company.
- 0:32Speaker 1: There is a glow on mikey A's face every time
- 0:34Speaker 1: he sees Chris Sims.
- 0:36Speaker 3: It is.
- 0:36Speaker 2: It is absolutely amazing.
- 0:38Speaker 1: I figured after I don't know, eight or nine years
- 0:40Speaker 1: of doing this with Sims, I don't know how long
- 0:42Speaker 1: it's been, that that glow would go away, But no,
- 0:45Speaker 1: it returns every time he sees you. Man.
- 0:47Speaker 4: How Yeah, my wife's been saying that for twenty one
- 0:50Speaker 4: years of marriage and she still glows like a motherfucker.
- 0:53Speaker 3: You should see her. Damn. I just got that effect. Yeah,
- 0:55Speaker 3: it's just what I do.
- 0:57Speaker 2: Right.
- 0:58Speaker 1: What were these guys doing right before we started here?
- 1:01Speaker 1: You're doing something from the barn. The Unbuttoned Podcast for
- 1:03Speaker 1: the draft. These guys wanted an invite, and these guys,
- 1:06Speaker 1: by these guys, I mean Taylor and mikey Ay, they
- 1:09Speaker 1: want an invite to the barn.
- 1:10Speaker 3: Yeah, and they can get it. They can get it.
- 1:12Speaker 4: I mean, shit, your asking come up there too, if
- 1:15Speaker 4: you want to fly up and hang out on the barn.
- 1:17Speaker 4: They'll be food, they'll be snacks, they'll be drinks, they'll
- 1:20Speaker 4: be drinks, they'll be smoky smoky. Right, I won't be
- 1:23Speaker 4: partaking in that. No smoky, smoky or drinks from me.
- 1:26Speaker 4: I'm gonna I try to stay focused here for this
- 1:29Speaker 4: this little exercise.
- 1:30Speaker 3: Two years in a row.
- 1:31Speaker 4: I used to do drinky drinking smoky smoky, but then
- 1:34Speaker 4: one of my bosses didn't really love it, so.
- 1:36Speaker 3: I stopped last year.
- 1:38Speaker 4: And I'm Johnny professional in the barn now. But you
- 1:41Speaker 4: guys don't have to be professional if you come.
- 1:43Speaker 2: No, I never am had your boss know? Howd that
- 1:45Speaker 2: person know?
- 1:46Speaker 3: I mean, I mean you know me. I wear my
- 1:48Speaker 3: heart on my sleeve.
- 1:50Speaker 4: Before the show started, I went right outside the door
- 1:53Speaker 4: and smoked a joint. And I can remember him the
- 1:56Speaker 4: last year I did it. He was like walking by
- 1:58Speaker 4: the door every few seconds, like, well, surely he'll just
- 2:00Speaker 4: take one or two hits, and you know that doesn't
- 2:02Speaker 4: exist with me. So here I am like forty five
- 2:05Speaker 4: hits later, and he's still walking by, like is he really.
- 2:07Speaker 3: Gonna be able to do this show?
- 2:08Speaker 4: And I feel like from that point on and I
- 2:10Speaker 4: did a great job that night, but uh, you know,
- 2:13Speaker 4: they probably didn't love my you know, squinted eyes, glassy
- 2:16Speaker 4: eyes and everything else along with it.
- 2:18Speaker 1: So you wear your weed on your sleeve, is what
- 2:21Speaker 1: you're saying, is actually it's noticeable, right you can tell?
- 2:24Speaker 3: Yeah?
- 2:24Speaker 4: Basically, Yeah, everybody knows what I do and who I am,
- 2:28Speaker 4: and I don't hide that from anybody. I even like
- 2:31Speaker 4: in New York City, I am the kind of guy
- 2:33Speaker 4: that if you go on fifty seventh Street and I'm
- 2:36Speaker 4: in Midtown and I'm gonna go to NOBU, like, I'll
- 2:38Speaker 4: be on the sidewalk smoking a joint and I'll have
- 2:41Speaker 4: that people walk by me every now and then and
- 2:43Speaker 4: be like, man, you're just smoking out in public, and
- 2:45Speaker 4: I'm like, yeah, I mean everybody knows I smoke. I
- 2:47Speaker 4: talk about on TV like, who the hell cares? What
- 2:49Speaker 4: are we worried about? You?
- 2:51Speaker 3: No, we've got to break some barriers in life here.
- 2:53Speaker 5: STU are running into a bit of a dilemma at
- 2:56Speaker 5: the barn though, because it seems like Sims won't compromise
- 2:59Speaker 5: with me and put the Knicks game onto Oh is.
- 3:02Speaker 4: That because there's football night, it's a draft night and
- 3:06Speaker 4: I and we only got one TV in there, so
- 3:08Speaker 4: I don't give a damn about his the New York Knicks,
- 3:12Speaker 4: and I'm not into basketball mode right now. So yeah,
- 3:15Speaker 4: that's not you know, gonna happen, sorry, Slugger Taylor.
- 3:19Speaker 6: Compromise implies leverage of which you have none, exactly.
- 3:25Speaker 2: Right.
- 3:27Speaker 1: You want to invite to the Sims bar and you
- 3:28Speaker 1: watch whatever the fuck Simms has on in the bar.
- 3:30Speaker 4: That's it, right, the compromise for him show up for
- 3:34Speaker 4: the last two times that was on here, right, So
- 3:36Speaker 4: I mean they got all that, and then I think, also,
- 3:38Speaker 4: something happened with your mic there.
- 3:39Speaker 3: You just screwed it up again, so I did.
- 3:42Speaker 2: I'm trying to fix it, right, Yeah, you know you
- 3:43Speaker 2: are incredible. I can't move if I move with that
- 3:49Speaker 2: you guys talking. I'll figure it out.
- 3:52Speaker 3: All right.
- 3:53Speaker 6: I want to get into some draft stuff with Simms
- 3:55Speaker 6: while Stu figures this out, Sims. I'm looking at your
- 3:58Speaker 6: tears and I came across your wide receiver tier yea.
- 4:02Speaker 6: And not only did you have a surprise at number
- 4:05Speaker 6: one in Denzel Boston, but there is an obvious omission
- 4:09Speaker 6: in your top three tiers. I don't see Malchai Lemon
- 4:12Speaker 6: on there. What happened there?
- 4:14Speaker 4: No, you don't see Casey Conception on on there. You
- 4:16Speaker 4: don't see Omar Cooper on there.
- 4:18Speaker 3: Right.
- 4:19Speaker 4: I don't think their first round picks really, they are
- 4:21Speaker 4: only first round picks in the modern day NFL. The
- 4:24Speaker 4: modern day NFL the last five to six years where
- 4:27Speaker 4: we have gone this way of we're not gonna take
- 4:30Speaker 4: chances as much on guys in the first round. We're
- 4:33Speaker 4: gonna go with a guy that we just know can
- 4:35Speaker 4: produce and be really good and help us out right
- 4:38Speaker 4: away in year one, and then the GM doesn't get
- 4:40Speaker 4: dragged for having a bust on the first round pick.
- 4:42Speaker 3: Right. So that's where I look at it.
- 4:44Speaker 4: I don't like again, out of the people, I don't
- 4:47Speaker 4: know if anybody is like, oh my gosh, Makai Lemon
- 4:50Speaker 4: top twenty pick as far as pure physical talent, now,
- 4:54Speaker 4: what I would tell you too, and what happens with receivers.
- 4:56Speaker 4: And you guys have heard me say this before. It's oh,
- 4:58Speaker 4: he makes me feel warm. Look at that USC emblem
- 5:02Speaker 4: and ooh he had a lot of catches and all that.
- 5:04Speaker 4: But there's guys that are down the line that I
- 5:06Speaker 4: would tell you that are more physically gifted than Malachai
- 5:11Speaker 4: Lemon or Omar Cooper or Casey conception on. But they
- 5:14Speaker 4: were at big schools, they played in big games and
- 5:17Speaker 4: they got to show that and that makes evaluators feel good. Like, so,
- 5:21Speaker 4: guy like Zachariah Branch from Georgia really good. I think
- 5:24Speaker 4: you put him in the USC, and I know he
- 5:26Speaker 4: was there at one time. I get that, But if
- 5:28Speaker 4: he was on that team this year, you'd go, oh
- 5:30Speaker 4: my gosh, that's gonna be a top twenty pick in
- 5:31Speaker 4: the draft, no doubt. He's Jalen Wattle. I mean, so
- 5:35Speaker 4: that's that's you know again, I like the player. I
- 5:38Speaker 4: know he's going in the first round. He's in my
- 5:40Speaker 4: first round mock. But for me, as far as on
- 5:43Speaker 4: the field, pure physical talent, no, those guys don't blow
- 5:47Speaker 4: me away that way, Sims.
- 5:49Speaker 5: It feels like the draft really starts with the Jets
- 5:51Speaker 5: picking at two because everybody knows Mendoz is going one
- 5:54Speaker 5: to Vegas. Yeah, where are you at in the Reese
- 5:58Speaker 5: Bailey debate at two?
- 6:00Speaker 4: Yeah, I would take rvel Reeves. I think r vel
- 6:02Speaker 4: Reeves is the second best pure player in the draft.
- 6:05Speaker 4: And I think rvl Reeves can be Micah Parsons an
- 6:07Speaker 4: Abdul Carter.
- 6:08Speaker 3: Now.
- 6:08Speaker 4: I know you don't have all that evidence of rushing
- 6:10Speaker 4: the passer, right, but I think if you took the
- 6:12Speaker 4: top ten pass rushes of rvel ree and put him
- 6:16Speaker 4: against anybody to go, they're the best in the draft.
- 6:18Speaker 4: Nobody can do that right there. He's so explosive. Of
- 6:21Speaker 4: course he's raw. He needs work there, so there's a
- 6:24Speaker 4: little bit ofhim back to our old conversation of the unknown.
- 6:27Speaker 3: Right, Oh, I don't know, And.
- 6:29Speaker 4: This is to me where I want to be, like, wait,
- 6:31Speaker 4: we don't think the biggest, freakiest, the athletic guy in
- 6:33Speaker 4: the draft can go on the edge and become an
- 6:35Speaker 4: edge guy.
- 6:35Speaker 3: I think we overanalyze at the times.
- 6:37Speaker 4: But I can understand the Jets thinking about Bailey again.
- 6:41Speaker 3: It's a big year for the Jets.
- 6:42Speaker 4: The brass, the coaching staff, everybody right their asses on
- 6:45Speaker 4: the hot seat, where Bailey can definitely contribute right away.
- 6:50Speaker 4: On the edge, where rvel Reese, I think you're gonna
- 6:52Speaker 4: have like a Michael Parsons thing.
- 6:53Speaker 3: He plays mid a linebacker.
- 6:55Speaker 4: We put him on the edge a little bit, and
- 6:57Speaker 4: we continue to grow that as we go along to
- 6:59Speaker 4: maybe than year two it's mostly at edge and some
- 7:02Speaker 4: middle linebacker, and then year three it's just all edge.
- 7:05Speaker 3: And I feel like that's rvel Reees.
- 7:06Speaker 4: But the Jets might want somebody proven true commodity right now,
- 7:10Speaker 4: and I think that's probably where that argument is with
- 7:13Speaker 4: the Jets at number two.
- 7:14Speaker 3: But I would take rvel rees Sims.
- 7:16Speaker 1: How'd you feel about the trade of Dexter Lawrence from
- 7:18Speaker 1: the Giants of the Bengals.
- 7:19Speaker 4: Well, I love Dexter Lawrence and I didn't want it
- 7:22Speaker 4: to really happen, But when you get the number ten
- 7:25Speaker 4: pick of the draft, you definitely take that. I mean,
- 7:27Speaker 4: for a guy that's twenty eight going to be twenty
- 7:29Speaker 4: nine in November.
- 7:30Speaker 2: Who doesn't want to be there right and.
- 7:32Speaker 4: Doesn't want to be there exactly right, and I think
- 7:34Speaker 4: they have concerns. They had concerns about his health last year.
- 7:38Speaker 4: I think they didn't like the way he handled rehab
- 7:41Speaker 4: and certain things. I've heard that his weight got a
- 7:43Speaker 4: little out of control as well. And they got lucky
- 7:46Speaker 4: here in the Bengals, who barely have an NFL starting
- 7:49Speaker 4: defensive line. There's no dtackle Worth taking at number ten.
- 7:53Speaker 4: They were desperate and they got that done. And now
- 7:55Speaker 4: the Giants have a chance to, i mean, really have
- 7:58Speaker 4: a chance to do something special.
- 8:00Speaker 3: JEREMILEH.
- 8:00Speaker 4: Love, Sonny Styles, Caleb Downs, Jordan Tyson, all those guys
- 8:06Speaker 4: are in the mix for the New York Giants right now.
- 8:07Speaker 4: And as a Giant fan, that certainly excites me.
- 8:10Speaker 2: What would you want the Giants to do? What do
- 8:11Speaker 2: you expect them to do with those two picks?
- 8:13Speaker 3: All right?
- 8:14Speaker 4: Well, in my mock draft here, so I think that
- 8:16Speaker 4: the Cardinals are going to take Jeremiah Love, that would
- 8:19Speaker 4: be my two cents. It's Mike Laffleher. He's an offensive
- 8:23Speaker 4: run game specialist. He's an offensive coach who's a head coach.
- 8:27Speaker 4: He came from Shanahan and McVeigh, who run the football.
- 8:31Speaker 4: His damn brother traded for Josh Jacobs. JEREMILEH. Love is
- 8:35Speaker 4: the best offensive player in the draft. Other than Fernando Mendoza.
- 8:38Speaker 4: So yeah, I think that is what will happen there.
- 8:42Speaker 4: And then you go, oh, we're at pick four with
- 8:45Speaker 4: the Titans, and you sit there and go, whoa, Okay,
- 8:48Speaker 4: whoever the Jets don't take right and whoever that is
- 8:53Speaker 4: RVL Rays, David Bailey, whatever, one of those could be
- 8:56Speaker 4: there for the Titans that pick number four, so that
- 9:00Speaker 4: that could be interesting in itself to see what they
- 9:03Speaker 4: do there. But the Giants, So this is what I
- 9:04Speaker 4: had in my mock draft. I had the Commander's trade
- 9:09Speaker 4: up two spots because they need a receiver and take
- 9:11Speaker 4: Cardinal Tit at number five and switch with the Giants.
- 9:14Speaker 4: And then I had the Giants taking Sonny Styles at
- 9:16Speaker 4: seven and Jordan Tyson at ten. But again I don't
- 9:19Speaker 4: know because the Saints could easily take Jordan Tyson, that's
- 9:22Speaker 4: for sure. The Cowboys could definitely. I think that's a
- 9:25Speaker 4: real Then Cowboys don't have any needs on their football
- 9:27Speaker 4: team middle linebackers, won. I think that's why you saw
- 9:29Speaker 4: mel Kiper and Daniel Jeremiah all have the Cowboys trade
- 9:33Speaker 4: to get the number six pick with the Cleveland Browns
- 9:36Speaker 4: and take a Sonny Styles. So this is where I
- 9:38Speaker 4: think it can be a very interesting first and round
- 9:40Speaker 4: and we can see a lot of action tomorrow night.
- 9:42Speaker 1: As you've gotten ready and prepared yourself for this draft.
- 9:46Speaker 1: When you watch Mendoza, are you liking him more or
- 9:49Speaker 1: are you liking him less?
- 9:50Speaker 3: Oh? No, more more?
- 9:51Speaker 2: Really?
- 9:52Speaker 4: Yeah, I love Mendoza. Mendoza is a slam dunk. I'm
- 9:56Speaker 4: like almost zero questions about Mendoza. He's you know, this
- 10:00Speaker 4: is where the draft drives me crazy, because I feel
- 10:02Speaker 4: like if he was a little cooler and dressed cooler
- 10:05Speaker 4: and he interviewed cooler, everybody like.
- 10:08Speaker 3: He's the number one pick by far. But now he's
- 10:11Speaker 3: like he's a little bit of like a nerd.
- 10:13Speaker 4: And now it's like, well, I've seen some other guys
- 10:15Speaker 4: that I think i'd rank him. What. He's a slam dunk,
- 10:18Speaker 4: he's a quarterback, he's a franchise, he's got a strong arm,
- 10:21Speaker 4: he's smart as hell, he works hard as hell. How
- 10:23Speaker 4: is he not the number one player on everybody's board?
- 10:25Speaker 4: Just making up bullshit if you don't have him as
- 10:27Speaker 4: a number one player.
- 10:27Speaker 3: On your board.
- 10:28Speaker 1: Yes, if he had some Chris Sims and him, he'd
- 10:30Speaker 1: be fucking everyone.
- 10:31Speaker 2: We talking about him.
- 10:32Speaker 3: Sexy dis appeal would come back.
- 10:33Speaker 4: You know what I do to Mikey a you know,
- 10:35Speaker 4: I make him blush and get a shine every time
- 10:37Speaker 4: he sees me.
- 10:38Speaker 1: Yeah, go ahead, Mikey. Mikey wants to ask you about
- 10:42Speaker 1: Ruben Bain. I find this. I find this player to
- 10:45Speaker 1: be particularly funny because if his arms were a half
- 10:47Speaker 1: inch longer, he'd be the top three pick of the draft.
- 10:50Speaker 4: You know.
- 10:51Speaker 6: So Stud throws it to me to ask the question.
- 10:53Speaker 3: Then he essentially asked the question.
- 10:54Speaker 6: Thanks for that was your question.
- 10:57Speaker 3: You were going to ask about Ruby.
- 10:59Speaker 6: I mean that I want to ask if Chris Simms.
- 11:01Speaker 6: If Chris Sims was the GM of a team and
- 11:03Speaker 6: he's watching tape of Ruben Bain and he's falling in
- 11:05Speaker 6: love with this guy, and then somebody comes to him
- 11:08Speaker 6: and hands him a paper that says his arms are
- 11:10Speaker 6: two tenths of an inch too short. What is Chris
- 11:13Speaker 6: Simms doing?
- 11:14Speaker 4: That's what I want to It is a real tangible thing, right,
- 11:19Speaker 4: so there is like you can't just like totally disregard it.
- 11:22Speaker 4: There's a few outliers, but through the majority of the
- 11:26Speaker 4: draft era and especially the last twenty years, where they've
- 11:28Speaker 4: really honed in on this. Like you get under thirty
- 11:32Speaker 4: three and the success rate eight very good, it's not
- 11:35Speaker 4: thirty two and a half.
- 11:36Speaker 3: Especially, It's like it's not now.
- 11:39Speaker 4: You have to have something special off of that, right,
- 11:43Speaker 4: Like you talk about, Hey, you want to draft a
- 11:45Speaker 4: small quarterback. Okay, that's risky, but he better do he
- 11:48Speaker 4: better have three rockets up his ass like Kyler Murray, right,
- 11:51Speaker 4: something like that.
- 11:52Speaker 3: So this is where Bain.
- 11:54Speaker 4: Yeah, that scares you, but then when you turn on
- 11:57Speaker 4: the film, you just go, man, there's so many other
- 11:59Speaker 4: ways this guy I can win. It's not just gonna
- 12:01Speaker 4: be about arm length. And he's so physical and he's
- 12:04Speaker 4: so strong, and he plays balls to the wall and
- 12:07Speaker 4: he puts his body in vulnerable positions and just throws
- 12:11Speaker 4: it around to where. Listen, I like RBL reaches the best.
- 12:16Speaker 4: But if you're seeing my rankings there, Ruben Bain was
- 12:19Speaker 4: my second favorite. I'm as high on David Bailey as
- 12:22Speaker 4: everybody else. I like him a lot. I certainly recognize
- 12:25Speaker 4: he's a top fifteen pick, but he was not my favorite.
- 12:28Speaker 4: I love Baine, I really do. And you know, Bain's
- 12:32Speaker 4: another guy. Where does he go in this first round.
- 12:35Speaker 4: I mean there's a number of places. Again, the Saints
- 12:37Speaker 4: at eight, they certainly can take them. I have the
- 12:39Speaker 4: Chiefs at nine taking him, and again, wouldn't be surprised
- 12:42Speaker 4: that there's some team sitting in the weeds that trades
- 12:44Speaker 4: up late to eight or nine to maybe get him.
- 12:47Speaker 4: But I'm okay with it because Bain has enough other
- 12:50Speaker 4: ways to win and be elite in the game rather
- 12:52Speaker 4: than just arm length.
- 12:54Speaker 1: Mike Ye, I'm gonna ask you the same question about
- 12:56Speaker 1: Simpson as I asked you about Mendoza. You watch the
- 12:58Speaker 1: film on him, did you like him or less? After
- 13:00Speaker 1: watching film?
- 13:01Speaker 4: Yeah, I would say it stayed about the same.
- 13:04Speaker 3: He was one that didn't jump.
- 13:06Speaker 4: I have other ones that I would tell you, Man,
- 13:07Speaker 4: the more I watched, Like if I would go back,
- 13:09Speaker 4: there's a few. I'm not big on changing my rankings,
- 13:13Speaker 4: but I got a few that I'd go ooh if
- 13:14Speaker 4: I had a change or I had a chance to
- 13:16Speaker 4: do it. I put this guy above that guy. No,
- 13:18Speaker 4: I feel about the same. I have worries about it.
- 13:21Speaker 4: You know, again, I'm not into small quarterbacks. Everybody knows that.
- 13:24Speaker 4: It listens to me. It's not my favorite thing in
- 13:26Speaker 4: the world, and then you're talking about a guy here that, yeah,
- 13:28Speaker 4: he weighed two hundred and ten pounds at the combine,
- 13:31Speaker 4: but anybody that'll tell you that knows anything. He was
- 13:33Speaker 4: one hundred and ninety pounds at the end of the year.
- 13:35Speaker 4: In college football. He got beat the shit. The play
- 13:38Speaker 4: wasn't that great at the end of the year. And
- 13:41Speaker 4: he's only played one year. So that's what scares me.
- 13:44Speaker 3: Now.
- 13:44Speaker 4: I like some of his play. I do you know,
- 13:47Speaker 4: he's an incredible athlete. He's got pop in his arm.
- 13:50Speaker 4: I don't love his motion and how he throws the
- 13:53Speaker 4: ball always, and that detracts me as well. But no,
- 13:57Speaker 4: I think I've stayed pretty consistent. I think I told
- 13:59Speaker 4: you guys when I went into it, I was thinking
- 14:03Speaker 4: I was gonna like him and it was gonna be
- 14:04Speaker 4: closer to Mendoza than I thought. And then I watched
- 14:06Speaker 4: and I went to it's it's not close, and I said,
- 14:09Speaker 4: you're a Ty Simpson. And I still sit here and go,
- 14:12Speaker 4: I don't it feels like it's Pittsburgh or bust in
- 14:15Speaker 4: the first and the second round. I just went over
- 14:18Speaker 4: this with Mike Floria. Well, let me just run through
- 14:20Speaker 4: this first Off, you look at the NFL. Not many
- 14:22Speaker 4: teams need quarterbacks right now, right, I mean no, they're
- 14:25Speaker 4: not many. And that's where you know, you get back
- 14:27Speaker 4: into me and telling you there's not a quarterback problem
- 14:29Speaker 4: in the NFL. There's an offensive coordinator problem. That's the
- 14:31Speaker 4: biggest problem in the issue. But off of that, okay, Mike, Yeah,
- 14:35Speaker 4: you're New York Jets. One, I believe Frank Reich and
- 14:39Speaker 4: Aaron Glenn believe in bigger quarterbacks. Two, are you really
- 14:43Speaker 4: want to start this bullshit charade than all this crap here?
- 14:46Speaker 3: Right, you guys?
- 14:47Speaker 4: You guys can play good football and start one and
- 14:49Speaker 4: two and be like, damn, we look pretty good.
- 14:50Speaker 3: And you know the fan base why Simpson, why we
- 14:54Speaker 3: went there? And it's just because you're asking for Cooer suicide.
- 14:58Speaker 4: I mean, it's the Jets taken. I want to be like, well,
- 15:00Speaker 4: you can take them. It might work, but your ass
- 15:03Speaker 4: might be fired in four months.
- 15:05Speaker 3: So how fuck with that one?
- 15:07Speaker 4: Then the Cardinals, the Cardinals just got burned by a
- 15:11Speaker 4: smaller quarterback, Manti Austin for the GM there.
- 15:15Speaker 3: He's from New England. I worked with him there.
- 15:17Speaker 4: I know he believes in bigger quarterbacks, and I don't
- 15:20Speaker 4: think they'd go that route.
- 15:21Speaker 3: Again.
- 15:22Speaker 4: I think they're gonna like I said Jeremiah Love, and
- 15:25Speaker 4: they'll punt to next year. Everybody thinks the quarterback class
- 15:28Speaker 4: next year is going to be better, and maybe they'll
- 15:29Speaker 4: be part of the March for Arch, just like we've
- 15:31Speaker 4: talked about before.
- 15:32Speaker 3: Yeah, So I don't think they do it. So then
- 15:35Speaker 3: you sit there and you go, who else?
- 15:37Speaker 4: Maybe the Rams in the second round for the future
- 15:40Speaker 4: of Matt Stafford if he retires.
- 15:42Speaker 3: Other than that, it's Pittsburgh.
- 15:44Speaker 4: So like, I certainly can see Ty Simpson being on
- 15:46Speaker 4: the board in the middle of the second round still
- 15:48Speaker 4: and Pittsburgh maybe trading up a few spots to get them,
- 15:51Speaker 4: but I think that's a possibility.
- 15:53Speaker 1: Still, got's here for FanDuel right now, New FanDuel customers

- 17:38Speaker 6: In Louisiana, Sims, you said before that you had somebody
- 17:52Speaker 6: as your second best player in the draft. I'm assuming
- 17:54Speaker 6: Jeremiah Love is your first best player.
- 17:57Speaker 4: No, Mendoza's number one. I have our reached number two
- 18:01Speaker 4: and Jeremiah Loved number three. I'm like my big board
- 18:03Speaker 4: as far as ranking them, and I'm actually gonna do
- 18:05Speaker 4: that on my podcast today, release my big board that way.
- 18:08Speaker 3: Yeah, that's how I would rank it there that way?
- 18:10Speaker 1: Ye special day, Yes, how high up are you gonna
- 18:13Speaker 1: have Love?
- 18:14Speaker 6: And where in the draft.
- 18:16Speaker 3: Could he go that?
- 18:17Speaker 6: You'll be like, Oh, that's that's gonna be a problem
- 18:20Speaker 6: for teams.
- 18:20Speaker 3: Oh yeah, well let's see. Let me look at that well.
- 18:24Speaker 4: I mean, listen, if he ended up in Tennessee with
- 18:26Speaker 4: Brian Dayball and Cam Morden might not be right away,
- 18:28Speaker 4: but their offensive line is pretty good there, right, I
- 18:31Speaker 4: mean again, Tony Pollard ran for four and a half
- 18:34Speaker 4: yards per carry last year without a very good passing
- 18:36Speaker 4: offense to help him and do that, right.
- 18:37Speaker 2: So, and you still like cam wardon you love cam Ardon.
- 18:40Speaker 4: I do, And I think you couple cam with doing
- 18:42Speaker 4: this right here and keeping in and doing all that, like,
- 18:44Speaker 4: holy shit, that'll be fun.
- 18:46Speaker 3: But I think if David sitting on the board, they're
- 18:49Speaker 3: gonna look at it, you know.
- 18:51Speaker 4: Yeah, And I'm expecting Jeremiah Love to be gone there,
- 18:54Speaker 4: but that certainly is one that I look at it.
- 18:57Speaker 4: You know, I would love for him to be on
- 18:58Speaker 4: the Giants as a Giant fan, you know that. I've
- 19:00Speaker 4: said that for a while. I think the combination with
- 19:02Speaker 4: him in a Jayden Daniels would be scary as well.
- 19:06Speaker 4: I mean, yeah, you know that's that's that's got some
- 19:08Speaker 4: potential there. But uh yeah, I think that's probably the one.
- 19:11Speaker 4: But there's like no way he gets out of the
- 19:14Speaker 4: top ten. So you're really just looking at those teams
- 19:17Speaker 4: right there.
- 19:18Speaker 3: Sims.
- 19:18Speaker 5: Do you think there's anything the Eagles could do this
- 19:20Speaker 5: draft weekend that will tip their hand at what will
- 19:22Speaker 5: happen with aj Brown?
- 19:24Speaker 3: Well? I did.
- 19:24Speaker 4: I had to like so like you know, you know
- 19:26Speaker 4: the draft and my mock I basically had the Patriots
- 19:32Speaker 4: drafting Jermad McCoy, right, the awesome corner who's really the
- 19:36Speaker 4: number one corner on every team's board in football, except
- 19:39Speaker 4: he has these injury concerns. Where I had them going, hey,
- 19:43Speaker 4: you know, hey, draft him for us, and then on
- 19:46Speaker 4: you know, June first, we'll give you Aj and then
- 19:48Speaker 4: we want him right, you know that That's it was
- 19:50Speaker 4: kind of like my let me play one crazy thing
- 19:53Speaker 4: that could happen in the draft.
- 19:54Speaker 3: That's kind of where I went there.
- 19:57Speaker 4: But yeah, I think the AJ Brown thing is definitely happening.
- 20:00Speaker 4: I've been saying that for weeks. I told Mike Florio
- 20:03Speaker 4: that about two weeks ago. I got I get the
- 20:05Speaker 4: sense from people in the league that the deal's really
- 20:07Speaker 4: done that they're just waiting for June first to come around.
- 20:11Speaker 3: So we'll see where that goes. And then, yeah, I'm interested.
- 20:13Speaker 4: Does it apply to this year's draft and they make
- 20:16Speaker 4: some wink not agreement, or does the trade happen and
- 20:19Speaker 4: it has more to do with next year's draft. That's
- 20:21Speaker 4: the only thing I don't know here. I will be
- 20:23Speaker 4: interested to see what the Patriots do at the end
- 20:25Speaker 4: of the first round.
- 20:26Speaker 1: Sims any issues with Mendoza not showing up to the
- 20:29Speaker 1: NFL Draft staying at home with the family doing it there.
- 20:32Speaker 3: Not shocked by that.
- 20:33Speaker 4: I mean, listen, I would if I was talking to them,
- 20:35Speaker 4: I'd be like, come on. I would not say it,
- 20:38Speaker 4: wouldn't say come on, but I'd be like, hey, I
- 20:40Speaker 4: think you should go to the draft.
- 20:41Speaker 3: Man.
- 20:41Speaker 4: I mean, this is a special thing. You walk on
- 20:43Speaker 4: the stage, You're the number one pick. Holy Chris, this
- 20:45Speaker 4: is what you played the sport for. It has to
- 20:48Speaker 4: be able to like look at all your high school
- 20:50Speaker 4: coaches and little league people and.
- 20:51Speaker 3: Be like, screw you, everybody that doubted me. You see
- 20:55Speaker 3: me up here. I'm worn fifty million in the number
- 20:58Speaker 3: one pick. Now, yes, you're everybody.
- 21:01Speaker 1: Yes, But as he pointed out, he's a fucking nerd.
- 21:03Speaker 3: So he's a great He's a great kid, is what
- 21:05Speaker 3: he is.
- 21:05Speaker 4: He's a great kid, and he's going I want to
- 21:07Speaker 4: stay home with mom and dad and my friends and
- 21:08Speaker 4: enjoy the moment with them.
- 21:10Speaker 2: How could you not love that?
- 21:11Speaker 3: How could you? Yeah?
- 21:14Speaker 4: Yes, I feel like you guys know, I'm crazy, but
- 21:18Speaker 4: I usually have some nerd friends in the group, and
- 21:21Speaker 4: I feel like he'd be one of my buddies. I do,
- 21:24Speaker 4: because he's smart, you know, he's quick witted. He says
- 21:28Speaker 4: some things that are like very dry humor that if
- 21:30Speaker 4: you're not listening, you'd be like, oh, that was good
- 21:33Speaker 4: by you.
- 21:33Speaker 3: You didn't.
- 21:34Speaker 4: So that's where he's way more charismatic than everybody's getting
- 21:37Speaker 4: in credit for.
- 21:38Speaker 3: And that's why I think he's gonna be awesome in
- 21:40Speaker 3: the NFL.
- 21:41Speaker 5: So Stu Gotts our good friend of the show, Billy Gills,
- 21:45Speaker 5: friend of Chris Simms. He posted a video on The
- 21:48Speaker 5: Ringer NFL Show where he was questioning Mendoza's character because
- 21:53Speaker 5: Mendoza transferred from Billy's high school to Columbus High School,
- 21:58Speaker 5: apparently because he wasn't guaranteed a playing spot at Billy's
- 22:02Speaker 5: old high school, right and for Nando Mendoz's dad commented
- 22:05Speaker 5: on it with a bunch of clown face emojis to Billy.
- 22:08Speaker 4: Yeah, good, good, Billy, Billy deserves that right there. Yes,
- 22:12Speaker 4: it's the modern day here, you can't. Yes, it is
- 22:16Speaker 4: in a crazy world, even in high school football, you
- 22:19Speaker 4: know again, and that's like people, but but yeah, like here,
- 22:23Speaker 4: here's a great one for you. Okay, then this is
- 22:26Speaker 4: just speaks to it all. And I got a son
- 22:27Speaker 4: in high school right now too, to where damn, we
- 22:30Speaker 4: think about going to other schools as well, because a
- 22:32Speaker 4: kid a year above or whatever, and it's a good
- 22:34Speaker 4: team and the kid doesn't have to be that great.
- 22:36Speaker 4: They can go undefeated and they're gonna be like, well,
- 22:38Speaker 4: we're just gonna keep him a quarterback, even though you
- 22:40Speaker 4: know your son might be better, he's a year ahead of you,
- 22:42Speaker 4: We're gonna keep him in there, right, that's the way.
- 22:44Speaker 4: So you're gonna have guys that are be like I
- 22:46Speaker 4: was a top ten pick in the draft that I
- 22:48Speaker 4: had to leave my high school because they did that.
- 22:50Speaker 3: Here's one for you. You guys heard the name Chris
- 22:52Speaker 3: Snee at all? Do you know the name? You know?
- 22:54Speaker 2: Yeah, I know the name of course.
- 22:55Speaker 4: Off it's alignment for the Giants back in the day.
- 22:57Speaker 4: Tom Cofflin's son in law. His son is the number
- 23:01Speaker 4: one quarterback in the country and my son's class. As
- 23:04Speaker 4: a freshman last year, he played varsity. He wasn't the starter,
- 23:08Speaker 4: but they brought him in in certain situations to like
- 23:11Speaker 4: run the ball and do that. At Bergen Catholic, New Jersey.
- 23:15Speaker 4: He's the number one quarterback. He's a specimen. He had
- 23:18Speaker 4: to leave Bergen Catholic and now he's going to Premise
- 23:21Speaker 4: Catholic because Bergen Catholic has a pretty damn good quarterback too,
- 23:24Speaker 4: and he's definitely going D one and so yes, some
- 23:27Speaker 4: point somebody's gonna be in a draft. Divigeon, Well, I
- 23:29Speaker 4: don't like Walker Snee. He had a transfer from All
- 23:32Speaker 4: High school. And it's like, no, the modern day right now,
- 23:36Speaker 4: the big schools, you could have two big three, big
- 23:39Speaker 4: time you know quarterbacks there, Division one pros whatever. That's
- 23:43Speaker 4: the way it's getting. So I think you're gonna see
- 23:45Speaker 4: stories like this every now and then.
- 23:47Speaker 2: Your son's a big top quarterback. Huh.
- 23:50Speaker 3: He's all right, he's got a chance. We'll see where
- 23:51Speaker 3: it goes. He can throw it.
- 23:53Speaker 2: What do you mean, he's got a chance, A chance.
- 23:56Speaker 2: I don't know.
- 23:56Speaker 3: I'm not gonna make any proclamations, but he's got a chance.
- 23:59Speaker 1: We'll see, right, I love you telling Mendoza go up
- 24:03Speaker 1: there and act fucking cool, and he's like, no, I
- 24:05Speaker 1: want to stay at home with my parents.
- 24:08Speaker 4: Right right, Well, he's got that, you know, he's got
- 24:11Speaker 4: his mom, of course, who's in a wheelchair. So I'm
- 24:13Speaker 4: sure he's like, that's not easy life being on the
- 24:15Speaker 4: road doing all if.
- 24:15Speaker 1: He's not going to the draft, Chris, he's got a
- 24:17Speaker 1: good excuse.
- 24:18Speaker 2: And now what you questioned it, that's it right about it.
- 24:21Speaker 1: By the way, it is winning, So don't worry. Billy
- 24:25Speaker 1: was going for that reaction. He is happy that right
- 24:28Speaker 1: into Billy's hands.
- 24:29Speaker 2: Yes, and not only that.
- 24:30Speaker 1: I'll tell you this, I don't think Billy's ever been
- 24:32Speaker 1: invited to the barn for draft night.
- 24:33Speaker 2: I don't think he has.
- 24:34Speaker 4: No, You're right, he definitely is not. He did not
- 24:37Speaker 4: reach that territory. Well at the end of our relationship.
- 24:40Speaker 4: He really just kind of spurned us and did other things.
- 24:42Speaker 4: So yes, it'll take a while for him to work
- 24:45Speaker 4: that work back up into inviting to the barn category.
- 24:48Speaker 2: Right, he'll somehow figure out a way to blame it
- 24:49Speaker 2: all on me.
- 24:50Speaker 5: Go ahead, Taylor, Sam's anything I need to know for
- 24:52Speaker 5: the barn dress code?
- 24:53Speaker 3: Or should I bring something? No, No, you're good. We
- 24:57Speaker 3: got it all covered, man.
- 24:58Speaker 1: And bring an extra TV so you can watch the
- 25:00Speaker 1: next game.
- 25:01Speaker 4: I'm gonna be and I bring your iPad and hook
- 25:03Speaker 4: on our internet and watch it over there in the
- 25:04Speaker 4: corner or something.
- 25:05Speaker 1: All right, sim let me give you this doozy from Taylor.
- 25:07Speaker 1: A Yankee fan, you're a Yankee fan. He said early
- 25:10Speaker 1: on he got caught up in the moment that he
- 25:11Speaker 1: would not trade Paul ski He would not trade Cam
- 25:14Speaker 1: Schlittler straight up for Paul Skens.
- 25:17Speaker 2: How about that? Wow? Yeah?
- 25:19Speaker 3: What? What? What? What is? What? Pyote? Were you on that?
- 25:23Speaker 3: What are you talking about?
- 25:26Speaker 5: I was I was just high on life, hi on
- 25:27Speaker 5: Yanke being high on your own.
- 25:29Speaker 3: Guys. Sometimes I want you. Did I tell you? Guys?
- 25:33Speaker 3: I saw Aaron Boone. I don't think we've talked about this.
- 25:36Speaker 2: No, no, no, what happened?
- 25:38Speaker 3: Well, I mean I I saw.
- 25:39Speaker 4: I'm at a restaurant up here in you know, Greenwich, Bedford,
- 25:43Speaker 4: New York area.
- 25:44Speaker 1: Yes, let me remind the audience this is the guy
- 25:46Speaker 1: that you've wanted the fire for a couple of years now.
- 25:48Speaker 4: And I well, and I'm exactly And I've been on
- 25:51Speaker 4: ESPN Radio in New York with Michael Kay and said
- 25:53Speaker 4: the same things.
- 25:54Speaker 3: Right, so, and I've told you he lives.
- 25:58Speaker 4: In my town and his daughter, you know, is a
- 26:02Speaker 4: year or two older than my son, and they went
- 26:04Speaker 4: to grade school together for a little while. But yeah,
- 26:07Speaker 4: I've made my comments certainly right respect for Aaron Boone,
- 26:10Speaker 4: but yeah, have there have been times where I want
- 26:11Speaker 4: us to move on from him and Cashman and all that.
- 26:13Speaker 4: Of course there is so yes, So I'm at a
- 26:16Speaker 4: restaurant and he's just right there by me.
- 26:19Speaker 3: Now, I don't know if he knows what I've said.
- 26:21Speaker 4: Or whatever, but he did come over to the table
- 26:24Speaker 4: and say hello, right, I would, and he was very nice.
- 26:28Speaker 3: It was a real quick exchange. I did get the
- 26:31Speaker 3: sense in his.
- 26:32Speaker 4: Eyes that he knew what I said and he wanted
- 26:35Speaker 4: to say something This motherfucker yeah right, And that's the
- 26:38Speaker 4: hardest thing, right. It made me feel bad because but
- 26:41Speaker 4: but I've also been in his situation where that's where
- 26:44Speaker 4: like I've been like, Hey, I was the quarterback of
- 26:46Speaker 4: Tampa and I had plenty of people in the local
- 26:49Speaker 4: media telling me, oh shit, he sucks, get them off,
- 26:51Speaker 4: blah blah blah. I'd see them out and it didn't
- 26:54Speaker 4: ruin my night. I more went, hey, what you doing,
- 26:56Speaker 4: Hell Warre, you is good to see you. And in
- 26:58Speaker 4: my mind I was just like I'm gonna prove your
- 27:00Speaker 4: that's wrong.
- 27:00Speaker 3: So hopefully he had that same thing. It's not personal.
- 27:03Speaker 4: I'm just a Yankee fan, but that was definitely one
- 27:05Speaker 4: of the more awkward moments for.
- 27:07Speaker 3: Me in the last eight or nine weeks.
- 27:08Speaker 1: Yeah, because had you not said it, or had he
- 27:11Speaker 1: not known that you have said it, you feel like
- 27:13Speaker 1: the interaction would have been a bit longer, right.
- 27:15Speaker 4: Probably a little bit longer, maybe a little bit more warm.
- 27:18Speaker 3: Maybe it was me.
- 27:19Speaker 4: Maybe I was self conscious, right, maybe I was projecting,
- 27:22Speaker 4: as the psychologist say, but that I got that feel
- 27:26Speaker 4: and I thought you would like that story.
- 27:27Speaker 3: I've been meaning to tell you.
- 27:28Speaker 2: That it's a great story.
- 27:30Speaker 1: You should have said, well, I mean just come out
- 27:32Speaker 1: and say listen, I like you as a person, but
- 27:34Speaker 1: I want to fire you as the manager.
- 27:35Speaker 2: That's all I mean.
- 27:36Speaker 4: Yeah, yeah, I don't think before the first and second
- 27:39Speaker 4: course there, that wasn't the right time to do that.
- 27:43Speaker 1: Chris, What was it like, we'll getting out of here
- 27:45Speaker 1: in a second. For you the week, you know, a
- 27:47Speaker 1: couple of days leading up to the draft, were you nervous,
- 27:49Speaker 1: What were you feeling?
- 27:50Speaker 2: What was going on?
- 27:51Speaker 3: Yeah? Nervous.
- 27:52Speaker 4: I was really nervous because I was an unknown. I
- 27:55Speaker 4: knew there was a chance I can maybe go in
- 27:57Speaker 4: the first round. I mean, listen, I almost came out
- 27:59Speaker 4: early my junior year because I was being told that
- 28:01Speaker 4: would be a top ten or twelve pick.
- 28:02Speaker 3: I stayed in. We lost to Colorado on the Big
- 28:05Speaker 3: twelve championship game.
- 28:07Speaker 4: My next year, I lost to Oklahoma, and then I
- 28:09Speaker 4: became labeled as Chris Sims can't win the big game, right,
- 28:12Speaker 4: And that's kind of what happened. So I was a
- 28:15Speaker 4: fringe first rounder. I thought the Raiders were gonna take
- 28:18Speaker 4: me at the end of the first round.
- 28:20Speaker 3: That's really what I thought.
- 28:21Speaker 4: Al Davis, the late great Al Davis, really gave me
- 28:24Speaker 4: a sense that they might go there. So I was excited.
- 28:28Speaker 4: And I didn't know what the Baltimore Ravens might do.
- 28:30Speaker 4: They needed a quarterback. I thought there was a chance
- 28:32Speaker 4: I could end up with them too. But the night
- 28:35Speaker 4: before I had some friends in town. We went out
- 28:37Speaker 4: to dinner blah blah blah, and I got home and
- 28:40Speaker 4: I could tell my parents were a little on edge,
- 28:43Speaker 4: and I think they were well, and they and what
- 28:46Speaker 4: I you know, Eventually my dad tells me and my
- 28:49Speaker 4: agent had been talking to him a little bit where
- 28:51Speaker 4: it was like, we don't know where Chris is gonna go.
- 28:55Speaker 4: We don't we don't have a spot for him. You know,
- 28:56Speaker 4: usually you have a good feel, we don't know what's
- 28:58Speaker 4: gonna happen. So and my dad kind of told me that, like, hey,
- 29:02Speaker 4: we don't know what's going to happen here, blah blah blah.
- 29:04Speaker 4: You know, we still think maybe the Raiders who had
- 29:05Speaker 4: the last two picks of the first round that year,
- 29:07Speaker 4: they might take you, but we kind of haven't heard
- 29:10Speaker 4: anything definitive. So the draft went by, and of course
- 29:13Speaker 4: the first round went by, and I was still sitting
- 29:15Speaker 4: on the couch, and then of course we got through
- 29:17Speaker 4: halfway through the second round, and I was still sitting
- 29:19Speaker 4: on the couch, and I had friends over, and we
- 29:21Speaker 4: got through the second round and I just told everybody
- 29:23Speaker 4: to go home. I said, go home, see you later.
- 29:26Speaker 4: I was like, I've had it. I actually went upstairs
- 29:29Speaker 4: and watched the draft by myself. And then last that
- 29:33Speaker 4: was in the day of the first three rounds were
- 29:35Speaker 4: the first three the first day, right, and I was
- 29:37Speaker 4: the last pick of the third round and Tampa Bay,
- 29:41Speaker 4: and all of a sudden, the phone rang and it
- 29:42Speaker 4: was Rich McKay and John Gruden. I talked to them.
- 29:44Speaker 4: So it was like a bittersweet day. Awesome day really is.
- 29:49Speaker 4: I was excited, but yet yeah, I was heartbroken because
- 29:51Speaker 4: I felt like I was better than where I got picked.
- 29:54Speaker 2: And how was your dad during that?
- 29:55Speaker 4: Like?
- 29:55Speaker 3: What was my dad?
- 29:56Speaker 4: Was?
- 29:56Speaker 3: Okay? I mean my dad? Let me be really, I know,
- 30:00Speaker 3: I probably my dad all the league. They're so stupid,
- 30:07Speaker 3: you know.
- 30:08Speaker 4: And one of the things too, not only don winning
- 30:09Speaker 4: the and this is where the over analyzation crap happens
- 30:12Speaker 4: and all that. Like one of the things you find
- 30:14Speaker 4: out after the fact is yeah, maybe not winning the
- 30:17Speaker 4: big games, and people worried about that then, you know,
- 30:21Speaker 4: I think there were some people that like tattle tailed
- 30:24Speaker 4: on me at Texas that were like tried to say
- 30:26Speaker 4: I partied a lot, which was kind of hilarious because
- 30:30Speaker 4: like my good friends literally would make fun of me
- 30:33Speaker 4: for never going out to party, like.
- 30:34Speaker 3: What are you gonna do? Sit in your room and
- 30:35Speaker 3: watch Shrek tonight? You're gonna play Halo? Right?
- 30:39Speaker 4: But then when I did go out, it was like, oh,
- 30:40Speaker 4: he's a partier, right, So that's just there's just so
- 30:43Speaker 4: much bullshit that goes in on the draft, that's for sure.
- 30:45Speaker 2: Right, who snitched on you? Name names?
- 30:48Speaker 3: You know? I know, I don't know. I haven't.
- 30:49Speaker 4: Actually I have an inkling, right, And one of them
- 30:52Speaker 4: played on the football team too, because I had I had, Yeah,
- 30:57Speaker 4: I had a team that you know. Of course, you know,
- 30:59Speaker 4: I know, the NF felt better than most of these
- 31:01Speaker 4: college people did. Where I got in the NFL, and
- 31:02Speaker 4: some people did tell me some stuff. I have a
- 31:05Speaker 4: there was a coach and a player on my team
- 31:07Speaker 4: that I feel like didn't maybe help me out the
- 31:10Speaker 4: best with talking to teams, that's for sure.
- 31:12Speaker 2: All Right, we'll see you at the bar. Go ahead,
- 31:14Speaker 2: tell you you have one more here.
- 31:15Speaker 3: Yeah, Sims.
- 31:17Speaker 5: My question for you is having played for Gruden, does
- 31:20Speaker 5: it make you laugh just as much when you see
- 31:22Speaker 5: Gruden do his quarterback camp, Because for me, I've never
- 31:26Speaker 5: seen somebody who loves a hard count like John grub Out.
- 31:30Speaker 4: Trust me, it brings me back to memory lane. Our
- 31:33Speaker 4: quarterback meetings weren't far different from that, I'm just telling you,
- 31:37Speaker 4: except they were a lot more f words and more
- 31:40Speaker 4: intense and more slander, right.
- 31:42Speaker 3: Like what the fuck are you doing here?
- 31:44Speaker 4: And he'd have like a red laser, like he'd go
- 31:46Speaker 4: around you like ninety times, like what the hell is this?
- 31:49Speaker 3: What are you adult? What are you a freaking adult? Right?
- 31:52Speaker 4: And he as a young he would make me do
- 31:56Speaker 4: that in front of the team at times. Right, he
- 31:58Speaker 4: got sims, give them your hard count, and I'm a
- 32:00Speaker 4: rookie and I'm like embarrassed, and I'm like, oh my god,
- 32:03Speaker 4: I gotta do that. Or he'd tell me how some
- 32:06Speaker 4: quarterback talked right to lead his football team. Always just
- 32:10Speaker 4: like hey, Joe Montana would mother f people and blah
- 32:12Speaker 4: blah blah, or he and he'd call me out and
- 32:15Speaker 4: be like, what would Joe Montana here do right here?
- 32:17Speaker 4: And you know, I finally got comfortable and good enough
- 32:19Speaker 4: to where I'd be like, He's like, hey, what the
- 32:21Speaker 4: fuck are you doing? I'd say that in the meeting
- 32:22Speaker 4: and everybody laugh or whatever. But yeah, it's it's amazing.
- 32:26Speaker 4: He's got energy that's unmatched by anybody.
- 32:28Speaker 3: Jo.
- 32:28Speaker 2: Thank god Ruden is not coaching the Raiders still.
- 32:31Speaker 3: I mean him and Mendoza would be fun.
- 32:34Speaker 4: That would be fun every sentence. John Gruden said he'd
- 32:40Speaker 4: have to go like this, speaking like a blessing for
- 32:42Speaker 4: the bad swears.
- 32:43Speaker 1: He said, every Day Up Peacock The Unbuttoned Podcast as
- 32:50Speaker 1: well Football Night in America. When we get back around
- 32:52Speaker 1: to the season, he's got a draft spectacular The Unbuttoned
- 32:56Speaker 1: from the Barn Tailor and Mike.
- 32:58Speaker 2: Yeah, you're gonna be there.
- 32:58Speaker 1: So this is very You gonna put them on the
- 33:01Speaker 1: show or what if they come out?
- 33:03Speaker 3: Probably not.
- 33:08Speaker 4: Maybe we'll do some social media with them or something
- 33:10Speaker 4: like that. But be on the show. That's that's asking
- 33:12Speaker 4: too much.
- 33:13Speaker 6: Now come on, hey, Speaking of which, are you excited
- 33:15Speaker 6: to be working with Mike Tomlin this season?
- 33:17Speaker 3: I am. I'm pretty pumped about it.
- 33:19Speaker 4: I was gonna say, I don't know if I'll actually
- 33:21Speaker 4: be working with him. I think the hiring of him
- 33:22Speaker 4: might mean I'm not on the show anymore.
- 33:24Speaker 3: Actually, I just thought, you know, but.
- 33:27Speaker 4: I'm just waiting for my bosses to kind of give
- 33:29Speaker 4: me a clue on where my life is going here.
- 33:31Speaker 3: So I'm just enjoying the ride, just like you guys.
- 33:33Speaker 1: Listen, if they let you go, you're hired right here,
- 33:35Speaker 1: We got you. Okay, thanks man, Okay, buddy, check him out.
- 33:39Speaker 1: I'll have the draft coverage for you all over NBC.
- 33:42Speaker 1: And of course the Unbuttoned podcast as well. From the
- 33:44Speaker 1: bar Chris Sims. We appreciate it, we miss you. We
- 33:47Speaker 1: always enjoy talking to you, buddy. Thank you for doing it.
